Jersey immediately brings to mind Caron's Un Homme de Caron, but with a touch of vanilla to warm it up, making this lavender and white musk fragrance more high end hotel products and less barbershop. The Chanel aldehydes are definitely there, but their presence is light and masterfully blended. Jersey is an inoffensive, clean but overpriced perfume.

AnastasiaGostieva

Lightweight composition with a cooling profile. Beautiful realistic lavender with bright fresh citruses and a touch of comforting vanillic sweetness in the base. It’s clean, it’s simple, it’s chic!

I really like this perfume. It reminds me of a fragranced talcum powder you would get at a fancy hotel, or the smell of a scent sachet you might put in your drawers. Oddly specific, but that's just what I find it reminiscent of. Very pleasant, not overbearing, easy to wear soft fragrance.

talkaboutscents

A smooth lavender twist to the musk-violet-iris of classic French perfumery also with the Chanel flair, the aliphatic aldehydes. Make no mistake, reviewers who'd recall Prada - Candy & Infusion d'Iris or Lancome - Iris Dragees, Massimo Dutti - Souffle Marais, Emporio Armani - Lei, Guerlain - L'instant Magic etc. etc. would be all correct in doing so.

Jersey is best of both worlds. The timeless accord of white musk (probably Ethylene brassylate also known as Musk T) topped up with the ionones giving violet/iris powdery floralcy with a woody backbone, supported by jasmine (most likely the transparent Hedione) and rose making up the powdery, lotion-y backbone. It's undeniably classy, elegant, low-key beautiful. As a guy, that is my absolute favorite thing to smell on the opposite sex. But I often like to use masculine violet fragrances too and the lavender enables exactly that in Jersey thanks to top-heart blanket of lavender. I'd even argue that this is French lavender absolute as opposed to the essential oil due to smelling like a top-heart note that is floral-creamy and smooth as opposed to fresh-floral and terpenic. Once lavender starts to fade off, fragrance tuns into the similar musk-violet DNA of some other Chanel Les Exclusifs such as Misia, Bel Respiro and La Pausa. Surely when smelled side-by-side they would reveal clear contrasts, it's just on memory they feel very connected at the core.

Overall, amazing fragrance, price point as usual is something to debate.

Jersey Chanel eau de toilette is a soft and sweet fragrance with prodigious lavender accents.

If its output is somewhat sweet, it could be due to a tonka that is already powerful at the beginning, and yes, as one user said, its sweetness emulates licorice.

It is not a strange smell but the combination of tonka with lavender and musks could be excessive, but here Chanel takes control of the situation to be able to make a refined perfume that is inclined to the feminine side and with a lot of originality.

It has a bold smell always
because it is quite linear and does not take strange turns, relaxing lavender with a spark of sweetness that gives it energy and uniqueness, and at the same time causes a state of comfort and serenity that I look for very often at any time of the year.

One of the best sweet lavender perfumes I've ever smelled.

The eau de toilette is softer and more refined than the eau de parfum, the edp hits hard and is more daring.

The durability is very good and its sillage is moderate.

Not sure why this reminds me of Prada Candy. So so much. It's like Prada Candy without the caramel, adding the lavander. I'm obsessed with this unexpected similarity. But, yes, I like Jersey better. It smells like memories, fresh lipstick, mother's bathroom. Very elegant.

Jean Ralfiolo

The nicest scent, the most comforting and aromatic sweet cereal fragrance, slightly musky and oh well a bit warm with that herbaceous vanilla. Very much like Caron but more contemporary. Jersey is a grassy almond and clean scent.

Jmalone84

Not sure whether I ought to be reviewing this or the EDP but I disagree with below. The lavender smells like lavender essential oil to me, I can really smell the lavender and vanilla for awhile wafting about me in a way that’s quite pleasing and relaxing. When I hold my nose to my wrist I get the white flowers, and overall a a lovely aldehylic musky Chanel vibe. This is a nice fragrance and I would buy it if I could afford it.

alternateu

The notes were promising to me, but this was an awful blend of screechy, synthetic lavender and an entirely separate note of vanilla. Two separate, distinct notes, no harmony, and no finesse. Got none of the ?grass or rose or jasmine.
Very, very unpleasantly herbal (and synthetically so!). Scrubber.

spumyland

Descendant of Caron, with an 80's past and a clean feminine sweetness, welcoming for romantics.
Composed.

muzzbait

A mostly stock floral-lavender with a vanilla-coumarin backing to support it.
I never really like these scents, truth be told, they feel incomplete or merely accords needing further elements, so, for me, it's a no, but it is INDEED pleasant to smell. Quite nice, actually...

Giselecharlotte

The opening is really interesting, all the recognizable Chanel undertones when first sprayed.

Distinct fresh lavender and..bubbles? Nostalgic too. I recognize the bubble smell but cannot put my finger on it. Personally, I love when that happens.

On my skin, however, that goes away after about 20 minutes. The dry down is near identical to N°5 l'eau, with some bubbliness that prevailed intensely in the opening, but you need to look for it. As someone who sold their l'eau 50 ml and sees their stark similarities (honestly I'm shocked it's not listed in the "this perfume reminds me of" section), I'd say don't splurge. This is beautiful and I'll definitely get my use out of it. But a more 'budget friendly' Chanel will do you just fine for those who are curious about this particular les exclusif.

Kaleidosaur

I was so pleasantly surprised with the opening. It smelled just like the perfume oil I used to make as a teenager by mixing vanilla and lavender essential oils. So good! Sadly, though, after just a couple of minutes the lavender somehow turned into violet and it smells like a grandma. Sad!

Iris'smom

I prefer Boy (also a Lavander fragrance from Chanel). I bought Jersey without knowing that Boy was also an option. I suggest trying both before buying either!

Wow.

First spray: crazy strong herbal unisex, leaning masc on me (not that I care or buy into any of that, but I want to be as helpful as possible in my review).

After a few minutes: violet candy, but not as sweet as the candies and not as powdery as other violet scents.

Then, it's just an amazing cashmere sweater with light lavender COLOR (some lav flower, sure, but it smells lavender), pretty strong tonka, barely-there vanilla, and a sexy Chanel musk.

moolyyy

Zara MSK 004/NTL is a fabulous dupe for this fragrance.

miryamd89

I used to be obsessed with this fragrance. I only had a couple samples because it's very overpriced (IMO). I wore the samples to death in the winter. It left behind a soft trail of vanilla and lavender that was both intoxicating yet innocent. I have since bought a dupe from Arabian Perfume Oil that's pretty good but doesn't give me that same feeling Jersey does.

denisa_iv

I tried a few samples from Les exclusifs line (Coromandel, 22, Beige) and Jersey is the one I liked the least. It's the most unusual of them. It starts off very spicy and aromatic but it's also sweet at the same time. To me, at its very base, it shares some of that candy-like sweet balsamic vanilla that I smell in Prady Candy. I would like that, however, Jersey is a completely different fragrance because on top of that sits lavender and what must be the smell of other wildflowers. There's something in this mix of notes that just doesn't work with my body chemistry, especially in warm weather.
It then warms up, and without that loud spiciness and aromatic sweetness it becomes a very calming and serene scent. I can only smell two notes in the end, a distinct lavender-vanilla combo that is, at that point, so pretty and feminine. If it smelled like this from the beginning, I would love it. As is, this is not for me.

piyux

With some more or fewer tones, Jersey shares some of the same DNA as Coromandel, the flowers are the first notes that come up upon application, making this a more feminine type of fragrance. It is certainly less old school than Coromandel, but it still shares that feature, although it is more floral, the tones of multiple flowers such as lavender, wildflowers, and roses create a fragrance that resembles a bouquet, a fine, perfectly smelling arrangement of flowers. The grass notes are there creating in the mind the beautiful image of a field of flowers with grassy areas. The vanilla and Tonka bean give the fragrance a sweet tone but not overpowering, the combination of musk and grass give this fragrance a bit of that old school, for mature people vibe. The opening is sparkly, clean, sharp, strong but pleasant, after 5 minutes, the initial blast subsides and it becomes a more powdery scent that still projects well and feels enjoyable. The fragrance is well suited for females, perhaps not so much for males, especially at the opening, the dry-down still maintains that feminine nature but it is not as strong as the opening. Men could possibly wear this but it could be a bit challenging. After some 10 minutes the fragrance has reached its full dry-down, yet projecting well and with well-defined notes. Jersey has a solid projection and longevity without being best-mode.

Category: Aromatic
Batch reviewed: 2020
Wow Rating: 9/10. The fragrance is very pleasant; after all, the main notes are flowers.
Dislike Rating: 1/10. The combination of musk and grass gives its fragrance its old school vibe, which may not be well received by the young.
Uniqueness: 6/10. There are many fragrances in the market that use flowers as the main signature. This is one of them although here the quality is above the crowds.
Mass Appeal: 8/10. Very high for the feminine audience, probably very low for masculine candidates.
Projection: 6/10: Very good. It projects 6 feet around the wearer.
Sillage: 6/10. Very good. About 6 feet behind the wearer.
Application: 4 atomizations will do, it is not beast-mode.
Longevity: 5/10. About 5 hours.
Seasons: All seasons.
Occasions: Casual and formal, no sports.
Versatility: 8/10. Highly versatile, a very adaptable, elegant, romantic and pleasant fragrance.
Gender: Feminine. Men could wear this one but it will be a bit challenging given the high proportion of floral tones in the fragrance.
Ages: 30 and above. This is a fragrance ideal for females 30 and above. It is more of a mature fragrance.
Recommendation: A must for females, not so much for males.
Blind-Buy: Females 30 and above are very likely to enjoy this fragrance. Others should test it first.
Similar: It shares the same DNA as Coromandel, with more flowers, and less patchouli.
Summary: Exquisite, flowery, romantic, fresh, mature, feminine, versatile, Le Exclusifs de Chanel is a very good fragrance.

marcel2782

Delicious wild sweetish flower bouquet blast at the opening, somewhat artificial. It dries and settles in a sweetish almost candy-like flowerish heart. Artificial, simple, easy-to-wear and also easy to get sick of. An easy pass for me - a man - but I can see a lot of women liking and loving this kind of aroma - if you are a woman, you should most definitely at least try it out. Very good performance, projects like a sob.

Allisonmsmith22

Whoa, not what I was expecting... I get major aldehydes, which I am not a fan of. It is sharp and musky on my skin...and bit mature. It took hours to soften and warm up. Not a fan

Vegas Pauli

Not a fan of lavender but I received a sample of Tom Ford Lavender Extreme and this. Both share some of the same ingredients but couldn't be more different. Jersey is pleasant enough, I get fresh lavender, powdery tonka, soft vanilla...its all very pleasantly put together. It also has the distinctive "CHANEL" moniker, very French and refined smelling. Unisex leaning toward feminine, which is rare for a lavender scent. All and all very "nice", but as a guy "nice" isn't enough for me. I gotta make a statement and Jersey wont do that. It's just too prim and proper to make a scene.

Firestarter

Lol, I think I am the only hater who thinks this smells like a cheap car freshener. :)) It might be the lavender-vanilla combo that's making me sick, cause usually I am a big lavender fan.

Jmalone84

I could swear the heart was heavy sandalwood

yukitanonton

For a fragrance with soft sillage, it is very long lasting. 18 hours after I sprayed its waft still all around me. Lovelyyy

frag-overdose

Love. Love. Love.

This is one of the most radiant lavender drenched perfumes I have ever owned, pristine, exceptionally ethereal and simply splendid.

It starts of with the aldehyde hint that Chanel is forever famous for, then immediately transforms into one of the most beautiful lavender fragrances that brings delight to the olfactory sense.

The sheer infusion of vanilla, musk, and rose adds up to the upfront of this soothing and therapeutic herbal aromatic flower, giving it the utter uplift in the bright limelight, making it a star worth celebrated for, though undemanding, it definitely deserves every inch of attention.

Jersey is absoutely not just another sharp, laundry-clean, and medicinal smelling lavender perfume made to hit the shelves, its floral freshness is fabulous and despite having a shy projection its longevity is rather impressive.

Jersey is an olfactory murmur, it happily sings for those who listen.

justchillinxo

This is a nice daytime scent, as it's not too offensive or out there. It has the classic chanel touch, reminiscent especially of n19. It smells of a soapy lavender. I disagree with the others that it's pure lavender though, that isn't the case for me at all.

Registeralloveragain

This is great lavender without any of the acne medication smell from crude lavender essential oil. Nice wildflower note and green grass. Those are very slight nuances in it. If you just want a very fine lavender then this is it.

endge

I came to Chanel counter with a sole purpose to get me Bois des Iles, and left with Jersey instead after having worn it on the back of my hand for 10 min. What swayed my mind? An enchanting transformation from gentle, breezy and soft lavender in a gauzy cloud of vanilla-sweetened aldehydes into a No.5 Eau Premier's rose-jasmine-musk sleekness. A wonder that takes some doing and, for me, justifies the price. Effortless understated elegance that wears well even in (very!) hot and humid weather. It has a soft sillage to begin with and after an hour wears like a skin scent that lingers for hours. This is lavender Zen done right (take a note, Guerlain and Hermes).

PricklyAndHot

Truly lavender from Provence. Flowers exactly. I adore lavender, so I love it. But I think that it's too simple for its price. I bought a perfume with lavender for clothes in Tihany on Balaton lake. Less famous, but, imho, more beautiful lavender place. And it smells almost the same, only it costs much more cheaper.

Sabretoothkitten

I liked this but its not what I expected. It's softly aromatic at the beginning almost like a barber shop cologne but no oakmoss, then becomes more floral...and the dry down is 100% Chanel. Adelhydes, slight powder and woods but in small doses. It's cute, it has the Chane l version of what people call Guerlinade...unmistakable house quality.

krsams1

Oh wow what an incrdbile lavender scent. Present without being overdone transparent while silghtly thick. Mostly definitely unisex and any guy could pull this off. I tned to lean towards deeper richer scents and I'm glad I have this one in my collection.

intersport

Another Jacques Polge gem that shines most in its original Eau de Toilette concentration. The link to the often mentioned Caron Pour Homme is apparent, yet more so to its original version. The superb weigh less construction of Jersey features an almost mentholated dose of aldehydes in its opening that catapult it right away in the top range of lavender focuses perfumes. Brilliant work!

mabelcruet

Beautiful-this is a comfortable fragrance, warm, soothing, gentle, restrained, a lazy Sunday afternoon curled up reading your favourite book type of comfort. I get powdery notes from this, it might be the gentleness of the lavender. It's quite sweet but not gourmand sickly-sweet, and its very smooth but not over the top musk. It's a subdued scent-there isn't any particular floral note that stands out, even the lavender, which peaks in the first few minutes blends in to the background later. I've never been one for lavender particularly until I got January Scent Project's Eiderantler, but the lavender notes in Jersey and Eiderantler are very different-both beautiful in their own way.

Jersey isn't a particular distinctive or stand-out fragrance, on me its a skin scent with low sillage, but it lasts well. I enjoyed it-its a lovely, relaxing scent-it maybe won't get you compliments (unless someone gets very close!) but it makes you feel happy.

redskyatnight

Lavender, vanilla, and aldehydes? Yes please!

Oh wait, they're gone already? Bummer. Well, actually, the aldehydes are the longest-lasting part of this, which is MOST surprising and sad.

As far as the concept though, I think I get it. Soft, breathable knit loungewear draped over the reclining figure of a girl-next-door type as she sips a morning cup of coffee. Something along the lines of MMM Lazy Sunday Morning but done a lot better. The white musk here, which somehow has gotten past my anosmia, is laundry fresh and aided by the No 5 L'eau-esque aldehydes. Vanilla adds warmth while lavender adds a casual attitude.

To be fair, I really like Jersey, I just wish it had more oomph. Save your money and buy L'eau, it's much better.

Soofiya

Recently I purchased couple of les exclusifs line's samples and jesrsey was one of them I couldn't wait to test.I always loved to find a feminine perfume with Lavender done right in it(right for my taste of course)
When I first sprayed it I was shocked.it was strong, cold, sharp and very cleaning product-ish! there is this particular clothes washing powder here which we call it tayd.smelling jersey was as if I was smelling tayd-water mix.exactly the same.and it didn't even feel clean.it was as if I've mixed that cleansing product, tayd, with water and left a glass of this chemical potion somewhere for a couple of days.then I've washed my hands with it without rinsing them afterwards with water
But the good news is,things didn't take much to get better, waaay better.vanilla and musk save jersey for me.there comes a creamy, not so sweet vanilla and soft, skin like musk to round Lavender's edges a bit and turn jersey to a pleasant, clean, smooth, calming, feminine scent I was waiting for.it still has a soapy vibe but in a very creamy way which I actually like.I can also feel a hint of flowers in it,something like a very light Jasmine
All in all I liked it and it lasts for an impressive time on my skin, though sillage isn't big.It seems to be addictive but I don't think I'm willing to pay large prices they ask for it but I will happily use up my sample from time to time.I prefer to use it in spring and summer but not that it won't suit fall days.
Something in it reminds me lacoste pour femme, also d&g feminine. I may do a side by side test to find out their similarities

freddinos

Jersey is a serene, calming delight of a fragrance. It smells fluffy, gentle and polite.
In the beginning I smell lavender with a metallic undertone, which fortunately soon disappears. After that it's lavender, done in a feminine and elegant way. As time progresses it has similarities with Guerlain's Eau de Lingerie, both share the same DNA. Towards the drydown it smells somehow similar to the new No5 L'eau, it has a sparkly somewhat aldehydic quality, full of charm.
Only downside to it is its short life on my skin and the low silage. Other than that, loved Jersey. Look forward to trying the extrait version.

Compared

Liked it very much in the beginning, but then got really bothered by strong and annoying lavender note. Not using unfortunately.

Singabera

I had great expectations for it as I love lavender.
But got big disappointment-sweet annoying lavender.
Not sophisticated, soapy - wanted to wash it away and never wear again...

onaona

I was in lavender limbo for years.
Never quite sure if it was a note to praise or condemn.

Had I been asked, I would have insisted the lavender note only presents with a masculine feel in perfumery.
INSISTED!
That is, until I not discovered Les Exclusifs de Chanel Jersey.

It's a good thing, a realllly good thing, I discovered Jersey. I might have languished in limbo for a fragrant eternity, never knowing what beauty I was missing.

Apparently the key to lavender heaven is using a soft creamy vanilla and an even softer musk to round out and unlock the door to the perfect lavender. My goodness, the notes are lovely together, made even more so by the sprinkling of random flowers throughout. I smell an unlisted heliotrope and something subtle and white.

Jersey is the perfect lavender composition for me. It's vanilla comfortable, feminine and outdoorsy. Not a stomp through the woods outdoors feel, but windblown and clean, soapy clean... like fresh laundry just off the clothes line in your backyard and green, a roundish green. No sharp edges.

Leave it to Jacques Polge to rescue lavender from olfactory limbo and place it on a pedestal :)

goodcupoftea

I love lavander opening. Mind you, lavander hier is the most natural and highest quality possible. After few minutes another notes appear - like soft musk and very light vanila. It is cosy, pleasant and relaxing fragrance, which is very light and barely noticeable. However, i am also gathering compliments while wearing. I love to wear it with crispy white linen shirt and dark designer trouses. Very classy!

miako

I got this as a gift. He said the vanilla reminded him of me (I am a real vanilla freak, I even make my own vanilla mists these days). I loved the gesture, and I do "like" the smell, but alas- not on me... I am just not a lavender girl.

To me it smells like (and I mean this in the nicest possible way), really expensive laundry detergent. and I don't mean "The Laundress" level expensive, I mean REALLY pricey- like Tom-Ford-level-eye-wateringly-expensive. When I spray, I imagine pure white, crisp sheets with a god-knows-how-many-zeros-at-the-end-of-this-threadcount that you would only find someplace like a 7 star hotel in Dubai (or Beyonce or Madonna's bedroom) that smells like total unadulterated cleanliness and sunshine.

It is a huge bottle, so on sunny days I spray it on my curtains and the warmth makes it waft around the room.. its quite lovely like that.

The kind of lady that I imagine wearing this, hmmm.. would be intelligent, refined, soft-spoken, minimal/no-make-up-make-up with french-girl-hair, and really good shoes.

On a man I would imagine it to be quite sexy.

JaiTee

A lovely lavender scent that that dries down to a fresh green tea/citrusy scent on my skin. Sillage is better than expected -- I can smell it from arm's length.

My only hesitation for Jersey is that this drydown on me smells like other fresh scents. I love the opening more.

Sherri81

I recently sampled this perfume. To me, this is a terrible perfume.

I rarely, if ever, get headaches from perfume, but this one gave me almost an instant headache. It is a very heavy, cloying, lavandar and powder bomb. It does remind me of Fleecy dryer sheets, but much heavier, and more pervasive.

I feel like I am choking people around me with this scent. The sillage is ample, and the longevity is also there, unfortunately for me.

This may smell great on some people, but my body chemistry makes this a disaster.

Nessers

Jersey is a light, fresh floral and my first from the exclusive range. Ideal for hot summer weather. There's a uniqueness to it that urges a craving to sniff over and over. I'm very fond of this EDT.

If you do not like french lavender, I'd say skip this one. You certainly smell it all day. The rose is faint, but it's there for sure. Overall very luxurious for a fresh, uplifting olfactory experience.

The vanilla I believe binds everything together in yet another subtle way. Jersey is VERY well blended—nothing overpowers the other. Very much a Chanel fragrance.

Elegant, womanly (vs. feminine which is always a sweet floral. Jersey is not fruity at all), powdery, fresh, uplifting, energizing, a touch of softness. An aromatic floral done quite well.

The 2.5oz goes for $160, 6.5oz for $280. Is it worth the price? As much as any Chanel is. I'd say try before you buy. Mine was a blind buy in a miniature vial. I am considering a full bottle.

Is it unisex? Perhaps. It leans feminine for sure. I personally would say no. But chemistry plays a big part. If you wear lavender and/or musk well you should definitely try this.

Wearing this all Summer, 2016 :)

EnglishCountryGarden

I wanted to like it. I got an initial hit of lavender, then ..... I was still waiting. My son, who has an amazing nose, sniffed it 15 minutes later and nailed it. "Liquorice allsorts". He's right you know.

Peachysugarbuns

I don't know what kind of hoity-toity dryer sheets y'all are using, but Jersey smells nothing like the washer/dryer products I use. I adore this fragrance - it is beautiful for spring. Go ahead, call me basic. ;)

I make a lavender blossom lemonade in the summer and the opening of Jersey reminds me of the floral/sweet/tart taste. Perhaps some of the green notes notes are translating into a lemon scent. I also detect violet, though it is not listed as a note, and it is reminding me of the powdery, candy-like facets of Chanel Misia. I can see how some people find Jersey too sweet, but to me the sweetness pairs nicely with the lavender (which is a note I normally dismiss as too astringent or "masculine".)

Kylexora made a comment below stating that Jersey feels Prada-like and I agree. It has the dusty, powdery quality of Infusion d'Iris and Candy. Jersey would have been a better Prada Candy Florale than the actual Prada Candy Florale.

I like all the Les Exclusifs for their distinct personalities, but I think Jersey is the fragrance I'd wear the most often if I purchased any bottle. Versatile, uplifting and high quality!

leschoux

Oh Jersey, you're like a sweet, sweet first love.

I've always loved lavender, and I was pleasantly surprised when I tried Jersey. I expected heavy sweet lavender but what I got was light and bright lavender instead. The first burst was an airy lavender which quickly settles into something sweet and delectable. The musk and vanilla came out a little later, with the vanilla dominating the whiff after about a few hours. I don't mind the vanilla at all, though. It adds a touch of brightness to an otherwise herby, medicinal lavender. Jersey's so beautiful to me; it's very fluffy and inoffensive, and while it can be rather sweet in the middle, the drydown is creamy and very mellow with a touch of bitterness that's not unwelcome. I love the drydown the most, to be honest. It's so creamy; I wish I could eat it!

Overall, it's a very bright, light and inoffensive but well-rounded perfume, like a dessert that sits nicely on your palate. Light and fluffy but very creamy. Buttery and rich without it being cloying. This is a very, very beautiful perfume that may come off as understated, but don't let the subtleness scare you away: Jersey's as beautiful as it sounds.

Rating: 9/10

petroleuse

Oh my goodness. I sniffed this and had to hold back a slight gagging sensation. Honestly, I thought this would be a love at first sniff, since I love lavender scented oil. But although I can smell the lavender, it is just all wrong! The mix with musk, makes it smell a bit like puke. I am really sorry for the vivid description, this was the only thing I could think of when I smelled it. But note wise, it's a VERY strong scent with a big domination from the lavender, and then that musky sidekick. Vanilla in the mix, isn't obvious to me, but I do smell a rounded sweetness. I had a hard time picking up anything else, until well into the dry down where the musk seemed to fade a bit and the wild flowers peeked in. I admittedly only tried this on paper, as I found the scent quite repulsive! But it's a very interesting scent, and a very honest one that's for sure.

kim_klaus

I find Chanel Jersey to be the most wearable lavender of all.
Another one amongst many, Lutens Gris Clair is almost as wearable, while being quite the opposite character from Jersey. Gris Clair is impeccably clean, dry, extremely realistic, and finally at the drydown stretching straight into masculinity.

Jersey is very different. In the most fine manner it is exuding the velvety, sweet, "woman's skin" aura and alltogether behaves much more sparkling, bright and "sunnily".

Very, very lovely companion with an heartwarmingly beautiful and uplifting spirit.

jacmac

I agree it smells like freshly washed laundry. Easy to wear, not off putting, but boring for the price. There are so many more interesting perfumes for the money, I don't need to spend $$$ to smell like fabric softener.

The scent is lovely. It does smell like freshly washed laundry, but in an elegant manner. The lavender in this is so pleasant.
It last on my skin for about 7 hours, and it projects well, it doesn't choke anyone out, but people around me can notice it without it being cloying.
Very good scent, definitely a must try.

rschmidt65

I was hoping for Jicky Chanel style, soft vanilla lavender with the signature Chanel powdery aldehydes and wood. Sadly this is more like Gris Clair Chanel style. The lavender seemed synthetic and cold and far too loud. I wore it on a hot day and it just fell apart on my skin. I'm guessing this is the post-reformulated version cause it's pretty disappointing. Longevity is remarkably poor as well. It's extremely rare for a perfume to be completely gone by the end of eight hours on my perfume sipping skin but this one was.
I'll try it again when it's not so hot but I'm not optimistic.
Edit: Trying this again and it's still not working. I'm guessing it's the musk, always a difficult note for me. Moving on . . .

b.gracious

Scent - soft, creamy, refined lavender.

Season/Time of Day - I prefer to use this one all year round, day or night.

Projection - I did get noticed, it garners compliments.

Longevity - I get 12hrs consistently

Although I haven't tested this, I get from all the reviews that this is a lavender musk. If you can't afford Chanel, I highly recommend Yardley Orange Blossom. In reality it is pure lavender musk.

I would love to say I love Jersey pritty much. I agree with some review that say " no drug store bath product to be found here " and I think I cannot find it in any fragrance brands too. I'm not expert about perfume but I 'm also very picky. I do love lavender and Jesey is my choice. It is a good quality lavender, it is very soft and not too sharp for me. Jersey has leave a scent of vanilla but that the vanila is not too sweet like you ever smell. First time I worn Jersey on my wrist it made me thinking about a pretty gril standed in the field of lavender, she has a luxurious life and looks elegant.
when I worn Jersey all my friends kept asking me what is the perfume I use. Also my boyfriend love it on me. I'm not a perfumer or expert. I just love using a good quality product. I do love perfume since I was 8 yeas old, It crazy me. I save some money and I bought first bottle for myself. Seem like I am crazy?? Now, when I'm going to buy a perfume for myself I need to remind myself that I need to get a good one ONLY and I MUST love it.

Deppaholic

At first I get a spicy warm, American spicy, not the type of spice you associate with another location of the world. It's a fresh spicy warm that is so clean, which I don't associate spice with. I associate it with trying to cover up a pungent odor. Much akin to how they used to wear those doctor masks that looked like birds beaks, in that era before they had the simple masks of today and cleanliness by washing hands with soap and water. After that spice, albeit it still lingers there, I get the lovely lavender. I do not get soap or powder, both of which I wouldn't mind because I love those notes also. This to me is a good church scent, a safe scent for a wedding, etc. I do not think it would be a huge hit in an office environment. I can see a man pulling this off. Although I think it is a strong woman's fragrance, he certainly can share it with you :) If it's Jersey, it certainly is not the old worn out sweats, it is a very "designer label" jersey. At first I put off a bit by it, but I like unique, different and mostly Guerlain, but I am really loving this on day 1. So much so, I was playing it safe with only a small spray, and then a few hours later, I gave myself a huge burst on my neck and decollate and wrists. I can see me using this huge bottle in a few months until I get my other Exclusif 22. I say give this a try before you dismiss it. It's a home run, bases loaded! I like it much better than Coco, but not near as much as 5.

I've never truly been a Chanel girl until the Exclusifs line . For some reason, I always thought they smelled dated in some way. Not the "old lady " type of connotation, but like the perfumes never evolved like other lines ,experimenting with notes and such.

This line is beautiful and refreshing to me! Jersey is just one of the ones I enjoy!

To me , this is the most beautiful lavender! Normally, lavender just doesn't make my day . It's normally just too masculine, but this is so feminine ! It's not too loud, but not quiet either. Then , you have this beautiful vanilla dancing around it. Yum! This is pure sophistication, which is what Chanel represents. Did anyone else get a popsicle stick smell in this too. I let a few friends smell , and they also got it! I happen to love that smell, so I think i need a bottle! LOL!

I guess I'm finally a Chanel girl!

yourfriendmarito

What a gorgeous and pleasant scent. It surrounds me, delicate, exquisite. This is a very beautiful laverder. I see in the notes that it has musk and vanilla. This is exactly what it is.

I have a few of the Les Exclisifs. I am debating with myself if I should also buy this one. It has all qualities that I am looking for. It also have a beautiful projection (subtle but there for hours).

If you are into the Chanel line, I strongly recommend that you try this one. You will certainly love it!

Sorendara

I find this to be a very pleasant, but not particularly remarkable scent. The sample I tried was good enough to get me to buy a dupe, but even though the dupe wasn't perfect it wasn't enough to get my to buy the real thing.

The sample was mostly lavender and grass for me at first with a definite baby powder as well, and as it dried I caught more of the vanilla, musk. The wildflowers, jasmine, and rose didn't really show up for me.

(For those who care, the Hayward dupe is a very nice scent, but to me understates the vanilla.)

wesleyhclark

I'm not a fan of this one... it smells faintly ike some kind of cleanser, or perhaps a laundry soap. When I sprayed it on my arm the very first thing I thought was, "This smells institutional!"

So... no.

diamondsr4ever

Madame Chanel or whoever is in charge these days. May I just say that I demand to know what it is that you don't like about me. I have been very patient and am trying to find something that doesn't desert my skin after 5 minutes.
(OK, so I love Beige but we are not talking about that now.)
I have just used over a half of a 2ml tester trying to discern any other ingredient other than a very watery lavender. I have pillow sprays that I bought from a local pharmacy that have more lavender in them than this.
And you want me to part with a lot of money to smell like I picked a sheaf of lavender and waved it in the air 2 feet away from me. No thank you.
Sincerely yours,
Disenchanted tester.
P.S. Can you also make sure that your parfumiers make sure they do not leave any of the other ingredients out next time.
Even a tiny glimpse of some vanille or musk would have been nice.

Strappyshoo

I have just committed to a full bottle of this and am hoping I won't regret it. I am wavering between loving it and then thinking it is overly sweet. Having said that, there is something about it, that other reviewers have identified, that is so calming and comforting that I'm hoping that it will become a favourite. Fingers crossed.

***update: I returned the bottle and kept the three samples. It was just toooooooo sweet. Like lavender (which I love) wrapped in candy floss inside a coffin made of caramel. Some days I like to smell like an explosion in a lavender/candy factory but mostly not. Too expensive to keep for those (rare) days. The samples will suffice.

evacecilias

Sometimes you read a review , go through the notes and then later gets the chance to try it and you knew , just knew
- you would love it !

This is such an experience for me...
I only had one little question mark about it and that was the vanilla-
Usually can't wear or doesn't wanna wear to much vanilla.
Here together in the lavender tonka grass potpurri it works and doesn't take the lead .

The rose , jasmine and other flowers are not very present but the grass is. I also get an citrus note very shortly after spraying but it does not stay.

It is actually the very comforting and balmy musk notes that together with the lavender stands out the most on me.
It might be that note you still get the morning hours after a nice sleep, surrounding you with lovely little whifs.

I think this balmy, calming skinscent is what actually keeps some parfumistas from getting it., and that some reviews are really negatively written.
I have always loved musk and lavender and soft - but not boring skinscents.
I wish was easier to get a hold of and less pricey.
Cause this is that kind of scent for me , that sometimes make my collection laugh me right in the face...knowing it was this I was looking for all along !

StarSpectra

Jersey on my wrist is all about line-dried clothes combined with lavender. The first thing I smell is freshly washed clothes drying on a clothes line. If you have never had this experience your clothes will pick up all the scents around them particularly if it is a windy day.

These clothes are in a rural setting near a couple of pastures. In the distance is lavender that gets closer and closer but never too close. There is a slight breeze blowing. In the end you get clean, fresh, outdoorsy, and lavender. The lavender is very subtle. The lavender will fade but on my wrists it lasts longer than I would expect.

When I was young I could not afford a clothes drier. I had to hang out my clothes. I was so happy when I got my first clothes drier. I did not, however, anticipate that I would miss the smell of line-dried clothes. At 60 I still do. I'm glad I made this blind buy.

Ludicolo

Jersey is all about the lavender, that's for sure.
Having said that however, it is far from linear!
Starting off, the lavender in Jersey feels pretty aromatic, which is really nice.
I'ts got no overt sweetness at all.
I sense "green" and "brown" notes together with the light purple lavender aroma.
Lavender potpurri, and hay/dried grass is how I would describe the opening.
At this point Jersey smells perfectly unisex to me.
Probably the wildflowers + grass notes that give off this effect when combined.
Fresh hay and dried lavender on a warm summers day, lovely!

As we pass the five minute mark, Jersey brightens up ever so slightly, and a tea like note pushes through.
It smells very much like a classic, black tea (bergamot) infused with lavender.
Not yet brewed, more like the actual tea blend still dry inside the container.
This is how it stays on me for the rest of it's weartime.

This peaceful and calming composition that is Jersey makes me think of a sitting in the middle of a lavender field, enjoying a nice cup of tea and coockies somewhere in southern Europe.

It is just gorgeous, and it smells surprisingly natural.
A clean and refreshing lavender scent.
Would be a perfect scent to sleep in to ensure sweet dreams.
I see where the powdery assosiation comes from, but to me Jersey is more dust like than powdery, (and I don't mean that in a bad way)!
Like actual, chalked up lavender.

This is probably one of the most overlooked and underrated of the Les Exclusifs, which is such a shame!
Do yourself a favor and at least test it while trying to keep an open mind.
You might just be as positively surprised as I was!

The sillage is just how I like it, not too close, but not a monster either. It is "just right".
It also seems to last for quite a while on me, at least 10 hours, softening slowly as the hours slip away.

There is something in Jersey that makes me feel so incredibly nostalgic. Something about it takes me back in time, back to my carefree childhood.
I don't know how Chanel did it, but for that, I can't help but to love Jersey.

Lana148

Lovely lavender fragrance.

The opening was a bit underwhelming to me - powdery lavender (smells like something old and not very fresh). Few moments after the fragrance shows it's beauty: crisp vanilla-tonka been lavender. Very nice!

Later lavender becomes more musky and a bit soapy on my skin. The last stage - a baby powder smell.

Overall Chanel Jersey it a quiet , comforting, casual fragrance.

balzac

Pristine, crispy, soap clean, breezy. soft wafering lavender, mild vanilla.
Sheen musks.
Egyptian cotton sheets 800 thread count and higher.
It smells airy...as in a pristine air conditioned room.

The scent is pristine.

A LAVENDER BATH / clean AIR DRIED LAUNDRY
Sooothing, warm and refreshing. All in one.

This perfume smells like you are sitting in a warm bathtub filled with essential lavender oil , bubbles all around you, refreshing and aromatic. My parents always bathed in essential oils , this is exactly it.

Sweet lavender with a vanilla , tonka musky feel , very aromatic , a little soapy.

A feminine lavender at last , rounded with vanilla and tonka. Beautiful , casual, classy t shirt and jeans perfume.

The thing with Jersey is it has a fresh lavender herbal start but quickly goes into a warm sweet musky rosy vanilla tonka smell. Omg just writing this makes me want to put some on.

This never fails to get lots of compliments. Everyone wants to know where they can buy this.

A reviewer in here said it smelled like air dried laundry. I have to say that's very true to how exactly this smells like ,,,well AND a warm lavender bath,,,,An amazing scent.

Top shelf !!!

Jersey is the last of the Les Exclusifs line that I have tried. After reading the initial abysmal reviews, I didn't even see the need to bother. But curiosity got the best of me and I finally decided to try it (after having the sample for a couple of months).

And.....I love it. Ignore the bad reviews and decide this one for yourself. Maybe it is that whole expecting the worst and you are pleasantly surprised thing going on I'm not sure. But whatever it is, I absolutely love Jersey. The lavender in this is actually quite mild and VERY smooth. This is NOT loud screeching lavender by any means. Absolutely no drug store bath product to be found here. I have no tolerance for that kind of smell and if Jersey smelled like that I would hate it. This is lavender perfection in my opinion.

As others have mentioned, Jersey is like a lavender version of Eau Premiere. The base is extremely similar and where one goes citrus the other goes lavender. Top notes are nothing alike so a quick sniff will make it difficult to see the resemblance but after an all day wearing it is unmistakable.

Jersey is a light, airy, casual scent that sort of fits the fabric it is named after. Soft and cozy and very comforting. After thinking I would absolutely hate it (before trying it), I actually wouldn't mind owning a bottle.

EDIT: I do now own a bottle. A giant 200 ml bottle at that. :) Jersey is now one of my very favorite fragrances.

Mellyhelly

Woooaaahh! This one rocks! Unexpected heaven for my nose and brain!
I was at Chanel counter to test Bois des Iles and tried also Jersey. Not that I can afford buying any of them, but smelling is still free.
The name is unappealing to me.
But the scent... I fell head over heels!
I'm surprised at mixed opinions.
On a rational thought Jersey smells to me like a super-fine Eau Premiere plus good lavender.
I like lavender smell, but not usually take it into consideration in perfumes.
The opening gave me a knock on my head and woke me up. It smells like wet mushroom, the same as Bruno Acampora Musc oil. I know that wet mushroom is a promise for soft snuggling musk later...
Then lavender, very intense yet elegant, no cologne type (which I don't dislike btw), it's like smelling the skies up.
Then I smell a gorgeus vaguely metallic vanilla, a note that really intrigues me, somehow similar to L'artisan Vanilia, but less banana-y. Musk gets in as promised in the opening and while synthetical, it must be the most wonderful musk smelled around recently. I think it's the tonka bean that gives that cloud effect as if you were walking on clouds with whiffs of lavender coming up... wow!
The whole scent transport me to a higher mental level, purer and a little far from earthy dirtiness and heaviness, as if it had effect on more subtle parts of me... And at the same time it make me fell little and obeydient.
This is not a scent for femme fatale or for making an impact on people with strong spices, not even a girlish floral in the fashion-knowing, no urban awareness, no sexy shorts with high heels trembling on the asphalt to male delightment.
This one is almost childish, a true skin scent, comforting, pure yet enveloping and not faint.
I smell a lot of latest Chanel n.5 EdP here with lavender in it, even more Eau Premiere as said before with a slight lemony feeling linked to vanilla. After a few hours it gets more into lemon cake, not a good point in fragrance for me, but this is exception. Probably the lemon cake they have in heaven cafe.
I was in delight... there came my dear other: "It smells like the inside of a cheap chinese suitcase!"
Broken dreams. For that price. He's maybe oversensitive to aldehydes. He used to like Eau Premiere, now he doesn't anymore. Men.

laantjebanaantje

Ooh, Chanel! I love your beautiful N°5, N°19 and Coco, but my first encounter with the Les Exclusifs line is disappointing to say the least.
In the opening I smell lavender, a little but of grass and some kind of sugary, sweet, musky accord. It's sharp and it reminds me of a bubble bar I've smelled at LUSH (can't remember which one, but it wasn't the lavender scented one). It's a smell I wouldn't mind in laundry detergent (although I would prefer a different one), but in a perfume... no. Just no.
And this stuff is tenecious! The lavender and grass notes wear of, but the sweet musky sharp laundry scent stays. Too long.
This is just bad...
And I really don't say that often. It just doesn't work for me.

arzacu

Lavender and fresh water. That's it. Good for summer and spring, as a casual fragrance, it's not so complex, being a “light" fragrance, a lavender fragrance, on me, lasts a very very long time, but... smells like cologne.

good, but nothing so special.

gbush

Jersey is a beautiful, comforting, and modern fragrance ... i am surprised by some of the negative reviews I see on line.
This fragrance lasts between 10 and 12 hours on my skin and during it's development I can smell every note listed above (I swear I smell iris also!). The dry down is divine and I am happy I purchased a 200ml bottle. I can see wearing this fragrance all year round ... very versatile.

Update: Jersey has become my comfort perfume that I wear when I am home and relaxing. I do occasionally wear it when I am working my horses and I think they love the smell too ... I always seem to have my best rides while wearing Jersey. I guess lavender calms horses as well as people!!

Shorokh

I am a true lavender lover. I know so many perfumes with it, but it`s very difficult to really please me. Most of lavender scents tend to become too masculine for my taste, the way that an after shave could be.
I`ve been choosing between "Jersey" and Lutens` "Gris Clair..."
And now, just two weeks after I got my Lutens... I`m aching to get this one, too. I`m sure I`ll buy it very soon. Such a tender and unexpectedly light-hearted blend of lavender with Tonka and vanilla that I realize I can`t live without. I love my Lutens very much, but this one is as different as necessary.
If Lutens is a moon scent, shadowy, smokey, a little sharp, so Jersey is definitely on the sunshine side: positive, sweet, soft as a child`s skin. I need both! Urgently!

aveilhe

Jersey is predominantly a lavender fragrance. It is difficult to successfully create a lavender perfume without it coming across as reminiscent of a men's cologne or a linen spray, but Jacques Polge managed it beautifully!

Jersey is a soft, clean, feminine lavender with just the tiniest hint of vanilla. The green notes and jasmine add a classic, floral elegance to the blend, preventing the lavender from becoming too harshly medicinal, soapy, or herbal. The clean musk base note contributes an overall softness to the fragrance.

The dry-down is incredibly fresh and comforting. What a beautiful scent for spring and summer! It calls to mind picnics, sundresses, and sandals. Highly recommended for the perfume-lover who is looking for a fresh, simple, aromatic perfume -- or for the lavender lovers out there.

MelixMc

I have been wanting this for so long, and yesterday, fortunately, it was on sale. So with one month left until my birthday I just could not resist! All though I am also loving Guerlain's La Petite Robe Noire at the moment, Jersey, in my opinion, is just so much more than a perfume! Jacques Polge is a miracle maker that we can all take part in. I am in love and I believe I will be for a looong time!

Muzoona

I bought it yesterday. i was so hesitate to have one, its expensive but i could not resist. I was confused what to choose this one or Tom Ford Lavender Palm. I choose this because it is started with relaxing lavender aroma then it change into sweet vanilla with very very special note.. i could not recognize.. so i took it.

AveParfum

The moment I sprayed Jersey, I thought it smelled amazing--soft and sweet but surprisingly complex. After a minute or two on my skin, it began to smell awfully familiar. Ah ha! Penhaligon's Lavandula. They both smell mostly like lavender, vanilla, and musk. I think I prefer Jersey because it's muskier and less vanilla. I like the little bit of green in Jersey too. I was amazed at the projection. It's a soft scent, but I could smell it on myself all day long without having to touch up.

Sometimes lavender can end up smelling too masculine on me. I don't have that problem with Jersey. I don't have that problem with Lavandula either, which is why I bought it, but the vanilla starts to annoy me after a while because it becomes stronger than the lavender. I think Jersey might be my perfect lavender. This is an absolute LOVE for me.

Edit 5/26/13: I have been wearing it for 13 hours, and it's still projecting to my nose. I have not needed to touch up at all.

justas

Lavender is one of my favorite themes)) This one is soft and creamy, refined and subtle. I enjoy it a lot.

Lavender is one of my favourite notes, and while I do enjoy wearing Chanel's Jersey, (as strange as this might sound), I wish it were more masculine. I love big, bold and herbaceous lavender scents, however Jersey is more refined, sweet and girly. It's pleasant nonetheless, but nothing that I would personally pay $300 or more to own.

The opening has quite a soothing lavender top note, with a hint of spice. I was rather enjoying this fragrance until the vanilla and jasmine softened the lavender, almost smothering it at one point. In most cases I adore vanilla, but since it was unexpected, it had a somewhat rude arrival.

I was reading a magazine just yesterday that suggested Chanel Jersey as an office appropriate scent. I would have to agree. It wears inoffensively on the skin, quite unlike other Chanel Les Exclusifs. It's not nearly as strong or loud as my coveted Coromandel.

Jersey is too tame for my personal tastes. I want to rough it up a bit, perhaps even try layering it with heavier, more brash notes. The drydown is almost clean, like the scent of lavender soaps and white, musky linen.

The key to enjoying Jersey is not to set the bar too high prior to testing it. You also shouldn't expect to be blown over backwards with 'out of this world' sillage. Appreciate it for what it is.

I'm still searching for a replacement for Annick Goutal's Eau de Lavande. So far, nothing, not even Chanel's Jersey has come even remotely close. Jersey is pretty, but for the price, there are unfortunately better, and cheaper lavender scents on the market.

Moonds

Absolutely gorgeous - soft, feminine and elegant. The lavender is modern and not cloying, not like ye-olde lavender (which is a relief!) and the subtle vanilla rounds it out nicely. It's one of those frangrances you want to keep for yourself and with the big price tag, hope it never runs out!
Definitely worth the splurge.

lisa o

it has the same artificial sweetness that I find irritating in andy tauers pentachords white too. guess it's a violet/iris-note, smells vanillic too, but not a natural vanilla. I find lavender more elegant if more herbal, or- if sweet- the sweetness coming from the lavender itself.
so, didn't find my perfect lavender yet...

Hilaire

This is a gorgeous comfort scent, created with the subtlety and sophistication only Chanel can achieve.

The initial topnotes of Lavender and Mint are a surprise, they freshen and cool an otherwise warm and powdery composition. The top note includes Lavender in it's most medicinal and coniferous aspect, a delight.

Gradually Jersey turns into a deep deep, powdery, creamy musk/vanilla on me with just a hint of lavender to keep the dry down from being tiresome or cloying.

I agree with those who say that Jersey is quite unlike the rest of the Les Exclusifs range, none of the others have anything like the intense muskiness of Jersey, and Jersey does not have any Iris or Bel Respiro references as much of the rest of the range does.

I simply adore this perfume, and the sample I'm wearing is going to inspire a purchase of a full bottle as soon as possible.

The longevity is superb, the sillage is perfect (not a fog, just a halo) and the quality of the ingredients first rate. I highly recommend Jersey to anyone who loves soft, comfortable, Lavender/Vanilla/Musk perfumes.

kylexora

Most Chanel Les Exclusif have similarity in each and every of them, like they are connected to each other. But Jersey is none of them. Jersey is stranger. The opening is fresh lavender and drydown to herbal base. Lovely, but lack of character. Very weak indeed. If I don't see the bottle before the salesgirl hand me the paper4 strip, I strongly beleive this is from Prada. Beleive it or not, it smell Prada-ish with powdery-soapy kinda smell. Don't beleive me? Try Prada Candy, Infusion d' Iris or Infusion d' Oranger then you'll know why...!

thatsmr2usir

Oh dear..... this is not good at all. I detest lavender in fragrances so this is not pleasant. Basically what we have here is a lavender opening which dries down to a mere woody concoction. Average longevity with average projection. Nothing special, not memorable. Thats my 2 cents on this.

DresdenDoll

The lavender opening is great, I got quite excited about this one. Then it settled and became kind of woody and then just...nothing special. This is really not Chanel quality.

emily7

Two words: Baby Chanel. Not bad, not average, but definitely a baby scent; lavender-chamomile-shampoo-dolly-bubblegum-baby powder fragrance. Nice and kind of boring (except the peppermint accent). Certainly far from what Les Exclusifs line (imho) should represent.
On the other hand, if you enjoy Bvlgari Petits et Mamans or plan a pregnancy any time soon, this could be a classy upgrade.

p.s. very cozy drydown

cedriceccentric

Jersey is much more elaborated than one might think at first sniff. From the press release I expected a cologne or something unisex. The opening is pure, fresh lavender and further evolves to that warmer Pour un Homme accord everybody has been referring to. On my skin the masculine side only last for 10min. The base is typically Chanel: rich and feminine, with musk, vanilla and a touch of patchouli... softer, but not too different from the base of 31 Rue Cambon. I have a slight Eau Première vibe as well. In the winter, I would actually happily wear Jersey for work and Cambon in the evening.

iivanita

this is scent sent from heaven, i liked it from the start , was unusual but very very pleasant, i noticed something sweet, sweet musk, now i read its vanilla...its there all the time and this other fresh scent i could not recognise was lavander i read it now :) my friend did not like it at first while i loved it...later as someone said after 2 hours it smelled to both of us so nicely....this is perfect summer scent...and i tested gardenia wich is heavenly but it was gone , gone with the wind in 2 hours! i could not believe it---i like these scents best from all chanell i tried so far..i prefered hermes over chanel, now i am going to buy some chanel after a long long time :)

tessture

A disappointing perfume. I almost couldn't believe it was a Chanel. Soapy lavender with a brief but soon-gone flirt of incense vanilla. It's more like a spa massage oil than a perfume and it smells fairly thin and cheap. Probably one of their worst efforts, for all that it's wearable. Still, I would never pay Chanel prices for this scent.

CYoung

I tested four Les Exclusifs de Chanel fragrances (Beige, Gardenia, Jersey and No.22) in the Chanel boutique last month.

Jersey has a fresh clean scent of lavender, which I love. But such pleasant smell soon disappears. What is left is a weak, unremarkable floral smell.

Overall, Jersey is a nice, unoffensive yet elegant office fragrance.

spraysniffshare

If there is a summer or light edition of Caron Pour Une Homme, then this will be it. To sum up, this is sparkling lavender vanilla with a musky floral powdery drydown. It has all the familiar cues of Caron, but much more subtle, muted and polite in an understated Chanel kind of way. Projection is average, but it does linger on the skin.

Since this is more in the vein of Bel Respiro, La Pausa or Eau de Cologne, it would be unfair to compare this against the greats of Sycomore, Coromandel, Cuir de Russie or 31 Rue Cambon. However, given its price tag, one would expect something more unique. As it stands, it is marketed to those that are looking for a pleasant, inoffensive, non-descript office scent and nothing more.

melancholybaby

Opening with a clean, clear, crisp lavender, that lasts less than 10 seconds, Jersey drifts into a confused mass of vague fruity-floral mustiness...with no interesting or significant moments through the dry down...Not for me.

Capricious Capricorn

Just bought this unsniffed this evening. Hope I like it. I love lavender and grow a lot of it. Only lavender 'fume I own is Jicky. I'll let you know what I think and wish me luck!

UPDATE: Ended up liking this one instead of loving it. Hardly ever reach for it; as I hardly reach for my 2 other Chanels, 22 & Beige - which I love. For some reason they're just not as easy to wear as my other stuff. What I like to do is send samples of this one to others who express an interest for in on the internet. (On another fragrance site I frequent.) I love to receive the feedback for this odd ball, quirky fragrance. It is interesting, but I just don't love it. I hardly ever buy blind but was really caught up with last year's hype about it.

antonpan

Nothing to speak about. It smells almost identical to the lavender oil that I bought in Emirates, but with a typical for all recent Chanels musky powdery background.

scentedrat

All I can say is....YUCK. This scent is very weird on me. It starts out with a big announcement of Chanel-ness, and then turns into sweet powder overload with something sour just below the surface. I thought it would be a soft comfort scent, but there is something about it that just doesn't agree with me, unfortunately.

Albertine

I received a small tester of Chanel Jersey today. I am on a constant search for a signature scent perfume and 'At Last'!!!! I've found it. I don't get on with any other Chanel perfumes except Sycamore. They all smell like cat pee or toilet cleaner on me. BUT THIS is something else. It's heavenly, very soft and very beautiful.

Kchild

Actually, I have had a change of heart about this fragrance. Masterpiece? Not even close. Pleasant? Sure. The first spray of lavender is clear and beautiful. The next stage happens about 10 seconds later and that is when I get burning plastic. It's funny how your chemistry doesn't ask you permission to turn a perfume into something unpleasant. If only......

However, after giving this another coupla chances, I did notice that after about an hour, I was trying to figure out what smelled so good. It was my hair! A beautiful, soft, round, slightly aldehydic, vanille. Nothing earth shattering but entirely......nice.

This is the perfect airplane scent. Incredibly inoffensive, with a nice aura.

stvn.vrstrt

@ Kchild, Really girl, did you got out of the wrong side of the bed when you wrote this review?
Cause this fragrance is a masterpiece.
Where Chanel used an unpopular tissue to make Haute Couture, Jacques Polge used this less popular lavander to make a masterpiece. The delicate notes that evolves from one into another is so refined. No plastic to me, just pure delight.
You feel the tissue around your skin when you smell this work of art....

nattonline

I think Jersey is all about comfort. It has a strong (rather sharp at first) baby powdery character which later mixes with sweet lavender and a hint of vanilla and oakmoss. I get something floral too but can't say what it is. The price tag can be intimidating, but lucky to who can afford this newest addition. Definitely for woman but a guy may want to check it out too.
