Fossil 1954 for Women by Fossil is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Fossil 1954 for Women was launched in 2014. Top notes are Ginger, Grapefruit, Mandarin Blossom and Pink Pepper; middle notes are Freesia, Rose Petals and Juniper Berries; base notes are Bamboo, Texas Cedar, Sandalwood and White Amber.

The American brand Fossil, famous for its “modern-vintage” design of leather goods, jewelry and watches, ventured into a collaboration with IFF to launch its first two fragrances: Fossil 1954 for Men and Fossil 1954 for Women. As pointed out by Tom Kennedy, Executive Vice President, the brand “represents energy, exploration and optimism.” Kennedy and his team have come up with an appropriate name for the first two editions, being that the year 1954 represents a “company rallying cry.” The fragrances have been in development for two years while their pressed glass bottles were inspired by mid-century glass patterns.

The ladies’ fragrance, 1954 for Women, is designed as a refreshing floral scent, in contrast to the rough and masculine woody notes. The fragrance opens with a fresh blend of mandarin and sparkling chords of grapefruit. The citrusy cocktail in the top notes is spiced up with pink pepper and ginger, aromas that contribute to its sexy nuances. The heart of the fragrance emphasizes floral notes of rose petals and white freesia, framed by mountain juniper berries, which play with unisex heart notes. The base is made of cedar from Texas, highlighting the unique style of the Fossil brand. Cedar is mixed with white amber, sandalwood and bamboo, which provides depth, warmth and gives a distinctive creamy effect.

The fragrance is available as 50 ml Parfum.

I have this and it’s great but it’s not for me. I’m a sweet, gourmand girl. Would anyone want to swap?

One of my all time favorites, but sadly discontinued despite the many commenters on the Fossil website begging for it to come back.

This one starts off sharp, with an almost medicinal citrus blast at the opening. It quickly settles into a well-blended mashup of grapefruit and flowers for a while before the woods start peeking through. There’s no sweetness to this perfume, just fresh citrus with the clean base of bamboo, rose and freesia are noticeable throughout. I love that the grapefruit is still there in the dry down even many hours after initial application.

If this perfume was still in production it would probably be my signature. For anyone else who misses 1954, the Etsy seller UltraAromatics makes a pretty close match with her Fossil 1954 Type. Not as long lasting and more intimate sillage-wise, but worth checking out.

This is sadly discontinued. Really lovely citrus, great longevity, spicy and woodsy dry down with the grapefruit lasting throughout. Very special. Whoever is comparing it to the pink XOXO fragrance above...I’m lost. This fragrance is NOT sweet at all and has zero vanilla in it. The only note that is the same is grapefruit. I have this fragrance and it’s very very similar to oribe cote d’azur for anyone interested in a good replacement. I can barely tell them apart when I spray on both wrists. Hope this helps, love this scent.

This is a new scent to me, a blind buy. I tried it today and the initial blast of grapefruit and freesia appear to be all I will get from this scent along with another ingredient that appears about an hour after application. As I'm not familiar with bamboo, it may that which appears. It is not unpleasant, but it does not add greatly to the grapefruit/ freesia combination. On me, while this is a pleasant, fresh/floral scent, I get no spice, no wood, no amber. I so wanted the sandalwood, cedar and ginger to appear but they just didn't for me. I'll put this away until Spring and try again as it does seem to be much more suited to that season.

I love this perfume and want more. Where can I find it?

This is a lovely fragrance and it is unfortunate that so few people know about it! 1954 gives off outdoorsy, rustic vibes but avoids being linear and is amazingly clean rather than musty on the skin. It is also one of the more unique citrus fragrances I have tried. The spicy top notes strike the perfect balance between being delightfully fresh yet nuanced, which is rare in spice-based perfumes. Cedarwood drydown is amazing and very long-lasting. I hope they still sell this because I really want a bottle!

This perfume is mostly notable by its woody aroma and splashes of citrus. I am amazed by how long it lasts. I will put it on around 7am, if not before, and it is still amazingly noticed by 5pm.
It really is a great sweet and spicy long lasting perfume.

Oh, this sounds so nice! Especially the cedar, sandalwood, white amber and bamboo. Just the type of creamy, Oriental drydown I love. (Plus, I'm a fossil from 1954, too, so this seems made to order!)

I'd love a sample of this or to trade!

Wow the ginger is intense at first, this is a very unusual perfume. The pepper, ginger and bamboo give a strong asian feel, fresh and spicy. In contrast to the vintage packaging, this scent is very modern. I can barely detect any floral elements, and there is no sweetness, a refreshing change from many popular current fragrances. This could be considered as unisex.

this is deep and soft and it lasted from the morning through my evening workout without being overpowering. It's one of those that makes you go wait what was that? but you don't smell it down the hall. I love it..perfect for daily wear. I'd say the notes in the description are accurate

extremely beautiful wearable fragrance. very spring-flowery/fresh - i love freesia- and it is plenty in this bottle! nice bottle. i agree that it does not last very long, but it does last 4-5 hours ok on me : body+ clothes spray.

even though i paid a bit hight price in the Fossil shop, - if i find it elswhere cheaper- i will stock up on it!

if swap or blind buy- go for it, - amazing smell. MODERN, no OLD school-alike. if u like Versense Versace, - Fossil has very similar 'sparkly' freshness!

I love love love this--it opens very spicy and citusy and it almost has an audible ting when it hits the skin. Very bright. the next thing I smell is the freesia, and it blooms beautifully, not too floral and not too candy-like. The base is cedar and it compliments the other two to a T. I would wear this all the time, but the sillage is very close to the skin and it stops smelling for me quickly even though others can smell it. I know some folks like it that way, but why wear it if I can't enjoy the smell. I will always own this- the design is a work of art, from the vinatge pressed glass bottle to the polished wood top and the metal hang tag- just gorgeous all the way around.
