Eau D'Orange Verte 1979 by Hermès is a Floral Green fragrance for women and men. Eau D'Orange Verte 1979 was launched in 1979. The nose behind this fragrance is Francoise Caron.

With the Colognes collection, Hermès expands a territory of olfactive expression inaugurated in 1979 with its first Cologne, later baptised Eau d’orange verte, characterized by its refinement and authenticity. Figurative and generous expressions of instant pleasure, the Hermès Colognes offer a series of material-based olfactive vignettes. Through the gaze of Jean-Claude Ellena, Hermès affirms its own interpretation of the Cologne style, between artistic sensitivity and traditional craftsmanship.

Eau d’orange verte: a founding Cologne created by Françoise Caron in 1979 and inspired by the odour of moist, rose-scented morning undergrowth, this fragrance has asserted itself as an emblem of Hermès ever since and is distinguished by its unique freshness. It was devised as a burst of citrus touches, with orange to the fore, amidst zests and leaves, lemon, mandarin, mint and blackcurrant buds. Its complexity is revealed in a unique vapor composed of oak moss and patchouli.

Sharp blended citrusy opening almost reminds me of lemon grass, a bit sour, no sweetness to it. Sourness Starts to soften up once Florals start creeping in. Clean especially for summer time. Stays pretty simple perfect for citrus lovers. Classic.

A dedicated 'Eau d'Orange Verte 1979' page is unneccesary, because it's just a rebranding of 'Eau de Cologne' and it might confuse users in thinking that it's the same as the current one, because the pic is identical.

Hermes released 'Eau de Cologne' by Francoise Caron in 1979 (which already has a page on F with many reviews), which has been rebranded as 'Eau d'Orange Verte' in the 80s (what is here described as 'Eau d'Orange Verte 1979'). It's a classic citrus cologne, sharp, unquestionably masculine, with prominent bergamot and petitgrain.
In 2009, Jean-Claude Elena blended a fragrance also called 'Eau d'Orange Verte' (which has a separate page on F), supposedly inspired by the original Eau de Cologne, but with a stronger orange note, added orange flower, much less petitgrain, nearly unisex and with rounded egdes, in a nutshell: a different fragrance.

I get lemon and a little mint leaf. (Have you ever picked up a wild mint leaf and smelled it? It's like that, not like... peppermint or something) It's very green, unisex, and invigorating. Not my cup of tea, but I'm giving it a positive review anyway because I do find it to be an enjoyable scent even though I don't plan to wear it.

The green I needed today. I recieved two bottles of this la belle verte in the mail today. I'd never tried it, but somehow already knew it in my mind. I likewise knew it to be fleeting; so I am glad it is so alike to fragrances I already own. If you are looking for a similar fragrance with more staying power, try Voyage Royal Dracula and Badgley Mischka Forest Noir. I have them both and I am glad I do. I also have the lost and mythical Muguet Woods by Royal Apothic. God I wish they would start making it again!

ScentMan64

Classic Hermes and totally unisex, a really fabulous gentle citrus cologne. Orange plays the main part, supported by zest and leaves, lemon, mandarin, mint, blackcurrant bud, oakmoss and patchouli. Not particularly long lasting but then colognes aren't supposed to be. It does come in larger 200ml & 400ml bottles however so you can apply this scent quite liberally without fear of having overdone it. It also comes in a "Concentre" version, but even that's not particularly long lasting...I'd like to see this wonderful, discreet, elegant fragrance in an eau de parfum...I suppose the nearest thing to this that lasts longer is Neroli Portofino...

First smelled at Neiman Marcus San Francisco and thought the angels had arrived to transport me beyond. It was absolute heaven, and pretty near divine. Therefore, I see why...” this fragrance has asserted itself as an emblem of Hermès ever since and is distinguished by its unique freshness. It was devised as a burst of citrus touches...”. IT IS DIVINE!

rashidabbasi87

my first designer perfume. It smells like orange. I liked it.

magie_nocturne.1

Is Orangea of Profvmvm Roma similar?
Thank you :-)

despoina1976

This is the best antidepressant smell!

Since I suffer from severe fatigue this one helped me to get out of bed,is like walking in a garden full of lemongrass and lemon trees etc etc

This cologne is telling you "You are ready to go out and this day will be perfect!"

But because it is a cologne does not stay on my skin or even clothes.
Please,if u wanna suggest a similar eau de toilette or parfume do not hesitate to send me a private message!
This Smell helped me a lot,u may laugh as much as u like,no kidding,i need something for the days that I just Can't get on my feet!
Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately this one didn't do it for me. It reminded me of cat urine and pesticide or fly spray, and I so wanted to like it. I eventually gave it away.

Got a free sample from Seph*ra tonight and I am delighted.

Another Fragrentica member said this about short-life fragrances: "So if it only lasts you 10 minutes and brings you joy for that short time- so be it".
This is a mannish hyper-real orange cologne with some echoes of Dior Eau Sauvage (which I love). The dry-down here has a bit of a "stink" to it. But not in a BAD way. If this all makes any sense to YOU-- sample this for FREE as I did. Because of that "twist" at the end I do not recommend this for Ladies.
Sorry.
Again- it is a short trip. SO buy a large bottle and take 5 or 10 trips a day with this wonderful Orange scent-parade !

Paris 1988, a swanky hotel near the Arc de Triomphe. The toiletries in the bathroom were by Hermes. I'd never heard of the brand but loved the orangey scent of the soap so much that I packed it in my toilet bag, brought it home and used it on special occasions until it was all gone.

Fast forward nearly 30 years and this is that original Hermes fragrance. Wonderfully unisex and citrus. Whilst the performance is very linear, sadly all trace is gone within a couple of hours. This fragrance with longevity would be a must-have for me at any price, however, this is a lightweight, like 4711 Eau de Cologne and really not worth the price. Hermes – thanks for the memories!

Strat

Smells absolutely great for five minutes then poof...totally gone. No lingering notes, no nothing...just gone. Like someone said below there was no point in manufacturing this. Who puts on cologne to enjoy it for five minutes?

avaloncm

I got a sample of this from Sephora. Very nice smell, at least for the first 5 minutes. Then absolutely nothing. I don't even see the point in manufacturing this. Eat an orange tic-tac and smell your breath a couple of times. That was as long as this lasted.

Snugharbor

Tried this today after toying with making a blind buy, and I'm glad I did. Nice citrus, but it quickly devolved into a patchouli/musk hot mess on me. Far too masculine in my mind, and I dislike several different base notes including musk and patchouli. Not for me I'm afraid!

Tussa

Unlike the Un Jardin line, which could be soled easily as female perfumes, this one I find more male dominant. The silage also suits more after shave than EdT (it is cologne, not EdT). I really do like it, but on opposite gender.

Bottledbull

Good as an alternative to the turkish lemon colognes ..amazing burst of orange freshness supported by a bit of floral ..I say supported but made myself laugh there as both notes are a David copper field act ..poof .....gone

GodKing

A fantastic smelling citrus fragrance (one of the best) that, unfortunately, lasts about as long as a fart in a breeze; one-hours tops! The scents gets a 9.5 but, overall, a tepid like due to abysmal performance.

fl1180

One of my favorites, but as the rest of the reviewers mention, it last for only a very short while and I'm not sure if projects at all.

I used to wear the original Hermes cologne which was similar andI think this one was based off of this, but I remember it being stronger.

If you want a quick "freshner" of citrus, this is a great cologne. Perhaps I need to try the edt for better performance...

iman_hamishe_payiz

Top notes to Die for

The best Citric Phase in the market. Turns into musk and patchouli in less than 10 minutes, after that it has no projection, and remains on your skin for more than 6 hours.

Xerjoff Nio has pathetically tried to capture EDV's top notes and lengthen it with that monstrous price, but feels unnatural.

The Concente Version is heavy on basil and amber and has an uncanny (used by me as a negative adjective) resemblance to EDC.

For an EDC, It's totally worth having.

Verka81

The scent clearly has two prominent elements: a sweet citrus and a white jasmine note. It might be a bit 'in-yer-face' if you wear it inside on a hot summer day, but for outside it seems very appropriate and appetizing even.

dzingunyte

So finally I've tried this today. It's totally classy, elegant Cologne. For mature audience only. But i can imagine younger handsome man wearing it too. I guess it's a bit more to male side. Even though I'm about to wear it this summer. Not disappointed at all. This is one of the scents which will never go out of fashion. 10/10 ;)

theabsolutetruth

Opening notes: Spicy, green and true to zest, real and not synthetic unlike some other orange fragrance. Imagine the zest spray when zesting a green orange, add some spice for depth.

Dry down: I detect some patchouli but it isn't too flat or dry like the essential oil itself, just adding ground to the middle oak moss and high zest. After an hour some slight verdant note lingers but not much else.

It is very light though, too light, lacking longevity and sillage entirely. A much stronger version would be good, stronger than the options available.

Cerulean

★★★★

My favourite citrus scents, Acqua Viva (lemon) and Eau D' Orange Vert (orange).

It smells elegant and fresh. Pure elegance. It's exquisite. It has a short life on my skin, and really soft sillage, which are cons.

I just can't ignore that it is the best orange/mandarin jasmine fueled scent I've ever encountered. Make it last more! (Eau D' Orange Concentré 's longevity is plus one hour but it's still not enough and scent is somewhat different to this)

Classic and timeless!

nerolette

I'm not often a fan of overly citrusy scents and green has never been my type, but this blows all those habits away - the citrus is grounded rather than being too effervescent and the greenness is more masculine than springy or light. I have also rarely found a unisex/masculine scent that has worked well on me, so I'm very excited to finally have one to add to my rotation!

mutatismutandis

Fresh, citrus notes. As the song goes, Oranges and lemons say the bells of St Clemens... It is not the longest lasting scent by any stretch of the imagination but it is subtle and pleasant. I haven't tried the latest version but I'm more than happy to top up my supply of this version every now and again while it's available at reasonable prices. A rare unisex scent which doesn't compromise anyone's masculinity or femininity. It smells natural and clean too.

Lovely.

aqua_de_la_vita

I own both this frag and the concentrated version. Eau D' Orange Verte is very light and I layer it 3x to give this juice some depth. This frag has a real orange/citrus and a hint of a sweet floral aroma. The concentrated version has a definite bitter orange blossom with more of a woodsy and herbal mix making it absolutely animalistic fragrance.
Eau D' Orange isn't as herbal instead more of a sweeter orange blend.
Longevity and Silage is poor but I don't mind layering it giving this frag some depth making it fantastic.
Overall thoughts,
I do understand why many will by-pass this frag and go with the concentrate version which appeals to many.
I have to say that thou it may not be everyone's first choice but I do appreciate the high quality fragrance which deserves more attention. It isn't as strong nor as bitter instead a real aromatic aroma. Hermès knows how to create a subtle fragrance which appeals to both sex's. After spraying it several times on my skin I'm able to stretch the longevity several hours more. To bad this juice isn't as sout out...I have to agree with those who say that it's a good frag for the summer perfect during the daytime. Rating this frag is 7/10

kimbola

this one only last for 45 min on me then pufff its gone.

to bad i tried this one first, i wonder if the other scents in this line is the same.

I was looking for a replacement to Entre Naranjos. Most fragrances with orange blossom or neroli have a fleeting scent that leaves nothing after a few minutes.
What a nice surprise to finally try Eau d'orange verte. It's literally a description of the orange tree in the form of perfume. The green of the twigs, the sweet spiciness of the flowers and the aromatic wood.
Words are useless to describe this fragrance. It's marvelous, timeless and deserving of all the good comments.

pt333

This is a complicated scent. It's slow to reveal its true self on my skin but when it settles into my chemistry it's powerfully spicy and fresh. I like wearing it all year long but it really is a sexy summer night in a bottle.

themattsky

I like it but it lasts for about 15-25 minutes on me :(

originaldeftom

Perfect for layering with Eau Sauvage, if you wanna give the latter a more citrussy, orangey, tart, bitter-neroli twist!

pansylady

high-end shaving cream...

Nice clean orange and flower scent. Not for gents under 35. I like it, but my it doesn't suite my lifestyle.

blacktaffeta

This seems to be the older bottle? I've just acquired a small plastic bottle of this stuff - not exactly ideal, but it couldn't have been cheaper. Maybe I'll decant it into glass.

To be more specific, as of December 2014 this is being sold off for virtual pennies in the UK, so if anyone's interested this seems like a good time to buy.

Anyway, it's lovely. As others have said, a proper realistic citrus effect and very well balanced. After about twenty minutes there's a bit of a "wet dog" moment that i didn't much care for and made me think it was too masculine. I imagine that was the patch coming through. Once that passes it settles down to a smooth enjoyable citrussy chypre. Sillage and longevity are average on me.

Yes, unisex I think, at least for those of us who believe that we don't have to smell of flowers and sugar to be feminine.

nero77

The most realistic-smelling citrus cologne I've tried...

Hermès Eau d'Orange Verte is without a doubt the best smelling (and most realistic) of all the so-called "Eau de Cologne" compositions I've tried. Of course we all know about the famous "4711", and how it smells like... but this one is like a 4711 made for rich people! I get such a realistic impression of an orange tree from this... it (literally) smells like standing under a green orange tree! Yes it's an Eau de Cologne (so don't expect it to have any kind of base), which means you will have to reapply usually once every hour (sometimes twice)... but what a smell! Green, realistic, authentic citrus... in my opinion this is unbeatable! There is a reason why this is often sold at expensive hotels!

Try this on a hot summer day... you'll see how good this really is. In my opinion, this fragrance is for summer only, and one which needs to be applied throughout the day. But... without a doubt, in my opinion this is probably the best in the "Eau de Cologne" category... and such an authentic, realistic type of experience could only come from Hermès.

Fhaldara

While this may not be for everyone, I love it. It opens with fresh bittersweet orange, then green, mossy scents mix in followed by a light, woody trail. Reminds me of a dark rainy night in a woodland area with an orange grove nearby. I would say it's most definitely a unisex fragrance though some women may find it too 'masculine'. Many reviews say it has little longevity and sillage, but it lasts quite well on me.

physalis

This review refers to the formulation originally created in 1979.

This perfume was a casual finding in a physical store six years ago. It was the only child of a brand which was not usually sold there. The product was original. If I opened the packaging for testing I would feel embarrassed of not taking it. I decided for the risk.

At the first spray, the sourness of the the citric vapor which invaded my nostrils was so intense that I could just think: I am alive. I am alive since I can be touched by such intensity.

So far, this fragrance presents the most aggressive citrus opening that I have experienced, an explosion of lemon and bergamot. It may seem an heresy to some, but this violence stands out in the crowd of fragrances and it certainly excelled in my perception. Yes, I had to possess it, in the insane attempt to feel more and more alive.

Its evolution is bitter. A bitterness that corrodes, bothers and brings us back to the ground. The notes are not fully distinct, but orange blossom and oak moss are prevailing.

Many say that the opening is the only good aspect of it, lasting a few minutes and vanishing. I say differently: the violence of the opening saturates our sense of smell and overshadows everything else, but those who maintain a closer contact with this fragrance may notice that it stays close to the skin for about 4 hours, and it could not be different due to the fixation provided by oak moss. I can not consider it a bad longevity for an Eau de Cologne.

Is it a masterpiece? Yes, for its uniqueness.

And I also like to wear it when I am ill . Its strength shakes me, allowing room to a new and better balance to my vital energy.

Torges

This is the most refreshing fragrance that I have ever smelled. Especially during the hot humid summer months, if you splash some of this on, it will hit you like a wave. Very fresh, and the orange in this smells better than most actual oranges do. If you want a fresh, light scent, this is perfect.

Lana148

Refreshing, realistic, bitter orange scent. It has some vintage notes as well. To me it's on masculine side. Great for summer.

Mr.noise

A real summer Classic 4/5

Houdini4

Lovely, lovely orange scent.
Can't really give much more detail than has been given in some of the great reviews on here. It's got every possible nuance of orange to give it a really natural quality that is incredibly refreshing and invigorating.
I think I'd get the concentrated version just to ensure a bit more strength but this stuff is amazing.

BlueMoon

THE DISAPPEARING ACT

What a lovely fresh summer fragrance - or I think it was.

In order to truly enjoy this I'd need to spray every 1/2 hour.

What a shame.

IMsooKool4Real

Possibly, the best photo-realistic orange inspired cologne ever created.
The orange opening is beyond any other fragrance I have ever tried. Makes me think "Wow, I wish oranges smelled as good as this!"
I know oranges smell great and this is no real replacement for their gorgeousness but this is as close as a cologne is going to get.

The initial burst of over-ripe orange rind beauty instantly begins to fade to a close to the skin mix of bergamont, jasmine & orange flower all enveloped under a soft, thin, transparent & sheer orange pulp note.

It is so expertly mixed that after around ten minutes you can decipher each note enclosed within the enveloping orange note but you have to search a little.

This one is made for five spritzes directly on the chest after a shower. It's initial burst will calm to a lightly noticeable symphony of soft notes for a couple hours before it's gone and leaving you wanting for more.

As far as colognes go it lasts long enough - around 3 hours.
Beautiful & gentle yet gone so soon - an ode to a good life.

For a unique improvisation, spray generously over a single spritz of Terre De Hermes. Wonderful and Immensely complimentary!

ChristopherRiley

A cologne with a stylish opening but soon disapates to a pale musky aroma sitting close to the skin..

I applied 6 heavy sprays

0 - 30 mins- 8 inch projection. Refined, class mandarin orange with that distinctive Hermes citrus twist. I only see this is on men in a dressed up setting. Ages 40 - 60. Well made

30 mins - 5 hours. Close to skin, shame.... but worse than the projection dieing is that the scent itself reduces into a pale reflection of the opening, with a little muskiness.

Super opening and I appreciate the projection and longevity wont be great as it is a colgne, but what disappoints is the quality disappearing after 30 mins

Not for me

Yushcan

Awesome!!! But it's not for new comers, it's for mature noses.
It's so easy to create something special for winter evening heavy fragrance to impress the beginners. And it's so complicated to create sophisticated unique fresh fragrance for spring and hot summer... the nose behind must be really Professional for such kind of job. That's all about Eau D'Orange Verte!
That is why there are just few real things for spring and summer on the market.
As regards to longevity and silage - pls remember this masterpiece is Eau de Cologne, it means the concentration of essence in the bottle just 3-8%; if you need long lasting and strong silage switch to edt or edp with concentration 12-20% and 20-30% respectively.
So, buying edc, no difference which manufacture, do not expect long lasting and silage, simply read carefully what is written on the box to avoid complains and disappointment.
There is nothing wrong with this unique fragrance, it's just Eau De Cologne, that's it.
As regard to smell - nothing to add, everything said about it here before. Just amazing :)

suzrwin

Love the bitter orange zest opening with the bright lemon and lime accords. Within minutes, literally, it is gone. Disappointing since it is wonderful to begin with. Will have to seek something similar, and kiss yet another Hermes goodbye.

cumulnimbus

I still remember the first time I meet this scent, I thought that if I ever had a man for myself I would want him to smell like this everyday. Now that I have a companion he wears it and so I do, but none of us does everyday. Eau D'Orange is perfect for summer or very warm spring days. Though it is a light eau, it isn't just a simple easy cologne but a perfectly balanced one. It is as some mentioned a leaf citrus with a dryer end than other citrus colognes. I prefer it over the Concentrè version, in fact I find them quite different and though I appreciate both I find this one more classy and unique.

Jerome276

In the last couple of months, I tried 184 men's perfumes in a crazy quest to find the one that suits me. Well, this is it. Spirit-lifting. Subtle and refined. Not obtrusive. Now I can rest.

ian.gamil

This is undefiably one of the freshest fragrances I've ever smelt. However, if someone hugged you with this on they would hardly smell it. . .Unless their nose is buried on your neck where you sprayed it.

fragrance_fan

Everybody knows I loooovveee oranges. Well, you guys and gals didn't know that - but that's why I'm writin that. So now you know.

One day after smelling this orange-a-licious gem and buying it on the spot i went home and concocted a little machine that clipped to the vizor on my cubs hat that would mist a little bit of this orange juice on my face every couple hours or so. That's how good this stuff is!

I know what you're thinking - "Can I have that hat?". Unfortunately for me orangutans like oranges as much as I do and when I wore that hat in a zoo in Vietnam one of them orangutans decided to grab it off my head when I wasn't looking. That crafty orange bearded devil!
Dam, if that thing wasn't the happiest orangutan in that cage when it put my hat on and laid back like it hadn't a care in the world!
Dang, I knew I shouldn't have climbed into that cage!
I bought another bottle a few years later and am still thinking about how to get my hat back!

wesleyhclark

It went on with a nice orange smell and almost immediately disappeared. In other words, I got the d'Orange but not the Verte. My skin sucks it up like latex on new drywall, I guess.

Jack_Hunter

A blast of bitter oranges with lemon you get off the top with a spicy freshness.

It's a little bit sweet and quickly becomes drier where you are left with a slight mossy powdery orange on your skin.

On my skin it takes twenty minutes from the fresh opening to the basenotes where it is barely detectable.

It's nice while it lasts but the very poor longevity and projection are just not worth your money or time.

raw umber

This fragrance smells uncannily similar to L'eau de L'Artisan by L'Artisan, only with the addition of orange and lime sour fruit and peel top notes. Under that initial blast of fresh citrus fruits, there is an almost musty, herbal base of something reminiscent of dried, though still very green basil and grass. I happened to have the bottle of L'Artisan close by, and when I applied D'Orange Vert, and allowed the top notes to settle on my skin so that the heart and base began to take on more dimension, I couldn't help but notice L'Artisan's green herbal body peering out. I applied it on my other wrist just to be sure and the similarities blew me away.

Personally, I would choose L'Artisan over the Hermes in this instance, because the longevity on D'Orange Verte is very poor, even more so than L'Artisan's generally short-lasting fragrances. If you are in love with all things sour orange however, D'Orange Verte is certainly that even with the basil lurking in the background.

karlovonamesti

I must be the only one who doesn't smell the comparisons to Orange Spice, Eau Sauvage, 4711, etc. To me, Eau D'Orange Verte comes across more as a woody-green cologne with hints of orange and orange blossom. The effect is dusty, woody, dry, and a little dull. As opposed to the more "Technicolor" orange of Orange Spice, or the crisp, bright bergamot of Eau Sauvage, the Hermes bid for orange seems rather withdrawn and lackluster, although if you breathe on it, and draw it out, the orange note does smell quite delicate and natural. No great shakes, but then again not bad either. If you're planning on taking a trip to Japan, this is the stuff to wear.

arzacu

I got this one 3 months ago and I really fell in love with it!

Artistically blended citruses, you can smell the orange peel, the leaves, even the tree itself the citrusy quality of the woods..

Masterful craftmanship perfume, fantastic!

RachelGrigg

It's beautiful and delicious but I can't tell what the dry down is like cos it disappears in about five minutes!!!! Such a shame.

rienzope

Very disappointed. Started Orange, turned sour, then moldy oranges and body odor, then it was gone in 30 minutes. I tried it twice and had the same experience both times.

jasmasid

A well-crafted and complex kind of scent -- the definitive cologne in terms of a fresh, clean smell. Extremely refreshing in hot weather and can be worn by both sexes. They also do travel sizes and I managed to find other products like body shampoo, body lotion, etc.

nilizio

Superb! Strong scent, clean, refreshing!
Sometimes, I sprinkle it as a base and adds a refreshing touch of perfume such as Eau de Portofino!
Excellent result!
Now I finished a bottle and I'm going to buy a new or similar (I realized that Hermes did this cologne more powerful edition!).

Cezanne

Bright and fresh in the summer, too good for wearing in a sticky office.

johngreenink

Eau D'Orange Verte is an intriguing scent that's defied classification for me. Like other Hermes scents, it's very complex and rich, but not too heavy. I agree with some other posters that the 'orange' is not a traditional orange scent, but rather more of a bitter-sweet orange; more akin to the smell of a pomander orange, or dried tangerine peels (like those used in Chinese incense.) In spite of that, it still manages to remain fresh.

Unfortunately, D'Orange didn't last too well on my skin. The dry down was quite strong and I had to admit that it wasn't a good chemical match for me - it became somewhat dusty-smelling, like old powder. But I know D'Orange works very well for other guys, so I still highly recommend it. And yes, on that note, I really do think this is much more of a man's scent.

Attar

The fragrance is vivid, nice, fresh like orange juice nevertheless it's too short to become something special. 2-3 hours (3-4 max, my case - only for first two hours) and it's gone( All i have is reminiscence of tasty fresh orange. Forbidden. Hope Eau Concetree version has better longevity.
Perhaps the point is in EDC, though there are many fragrances in EDC versions that have much better longevity than this one.
Generally, love Hermes, love this smell, but disappointed with its longevity. 2 hours of Orange Happiness - to cheer yourself up)Glad it's not expensive (another advantage). Good fragrance for a hot day (or for 3-4 hours of a hot day))

A green bottle, a citrus garden,a generous and universal Cologne...Citrus,minty,woody...
So fresh, clean, sparkling and well-being for the whole family...a fragrance to share.Peppermint, mandarin, orange, orange tree leaves, lemon.I love the soap of EDV and All over Shampoo,a stimulating freshness.

dial800whocares

I tested this fragrance out today and I have to say it really is quite beautiful. It is not a juicy orange, but rather almost the scent of a bitter orange peel that has somehow fell on a forrest floor.

I loved it!! It is VERY refreshing, natural smelling, and very very clean. Almost like a very classy soap.

The problem is the lasting power of this is about 20 minutes. Literally, its just gone. I know there is a concentrated version of it and I will have to try that one out.

But, really if you live in a warm climate and are looking for a classy citrus fragrance you should 100% check this one out.

This is one of my top favorites, specially in summer, and i also love the soap...
The first time i smelled this beautiful fragance was in a trip to Paris, i remember in the hotel i was staying there were Hermés Soaps in the Bathroom and fell in love with the fresh scent, inmediatly i ran to Galeries Lafayette to purchase the Frangance and the Soap.......

I sampled some this morning (thanks kittykati!) and my husband said, "Eau Sauvage?". Now I can't get HIS suggestion out of my head!

It really DOES remind me of Eau Sauvage, which is a citrus aromatic. I get a blast of citrus (in particular orange and lemon). Only later do the florals peek through. It's lovely enough, but now I can't seem to shake
the connection between the two colognes -- especically since both my husband and father-in-law used to wear Eau Sauvage regularly.

It's a cold November day here, and I can absolutely see why this would be a warm weather scent. I'll tuck this sample away for a few months and see how I feel about it then.

this is pure class, old school chic smell, i am young and i use this masterpiece... chic, chic and sofistication at its best... you can wear this almost everywere.. a high class, masterpiece interpretation of an eau de cologne.....

this is a wonderfull scent . such pure refinment and quality . it truly represents "HERMES" at its best.

the wonderfull zesty opening clamly cooling down to a tangy orange. this perfume is amazing in the summer , the only downside is that its off a little bit too fast !

otherwise this is one of the perfumes i like to call "eternal luxury" and "refined class" !

This is the only men's cologne that I can wear (and think I can pull off). I am a real fan of Hermes perfume house and I love UJSLN and Eau des Merveilles. If you are in to fragrances without sweet notes and if you like green-refreshing colognes this is one of the best. Great in very hot weather.

A wonderful old school, high-quality cologne. There is only one fault; it is quite faint, dissapears quickly.

I had a small sample bottle of this cologne. Was very reluctant to wear it, as it was uni-sex.

When I tried it on, out of curiosity, I was hit with a fan of orange, citrusy strips and a warm green flavour. An interesting cologne, though, as a girl, I tend to wonder... do girls wear cologne??

Upon opening the bottle, I was caught by surprise. Rich woody notes and a heated mint mixed with fresh orange and citrus fruits.

This cologne is both orange and green in a scent/sense and warms the wearer as if they are walking through a sunlit forest not far from an orange orchard. An excellent scent for any time of the day during those hot summer months.

Great on both men and women.

This cologne is light and tasteful during the summer season, being refreshing and smart, but needs a couple of re-applications here and there. A great scent. ^_^

i found myself turn to this cologne more often than any other perfume i have. because i live in a very hot climate country and everytime i wear this i'm wraped with freshness.

i'd like to call it a glass of Mojito!

green green and green!if I could describe this fragrance in a color I would say it's all green.
this is absolutely a perfume from Herme.it has the familiar unique and unisex scent that you can't find in any other perfume of other company and like all of herme perfumes,it smells very natural, not necessarily nice, but something you don't feel uncomfortable while wearing it and it doesn't have any floral ingredients.
it has strong bitter and sour lemon scent mixed with green notes.it's not sweet at all and I don't feel any flower there, still it's unique and nice.but it's not for everybody.only those who like this kinds of unisex, natural smelling can wear it.

Today I could not decide between this fragranc and that of CDG's Incense Series: Kyoto, so I mixed them together. Eau D'Orange Verte is the dominant scent.

What a beautiful and relaxing combination. I feel like I have walked through a jasmine field (notes from Eau D'Orange Verte) as I head toward a Buddhist Temple. Once I am walking up the stair to the entrance of the temple I pass baskets of citrus fruit offerings(notes from Eau D'Orange Verte). Once in the Temple the incense (from CdG:Kyoto)welcomes you.

Agree to agree with chocolateguy, this is so refreshing! If your into orange this is a good one This unisex fragrance is very similar to Bond No 9's Little Italy minus the heavier misty musk. Lasting power is perfect. I bought this for my husband and he likes it. He wears this and I wear Little Italy, a great couple combo fragrance which makes us feel ready for a trip to Florida, the sunshine state to catch a few rays and indulge in their famous OJ! (orange twist martini for me a screwdriver for him)!

Full of orange! A wonderful combination of citrus notes -> a really refreshing feeling for one who wears it. Very attractive, just like a wind in the summer. I love it!

Today I was in the mood to wear this fragrance but wanted to add a little talc note to it. I started off with Bvlgari Petits et Mamans body lotion.

The combination of these two scent reminded me of walking into a clean, newly born baby'd room with jamsime floral arrangement and a fresh fruit basket to the side of it.

I was stopped twice today to be asked "What are you wearing?"

soirdelune

Beautiful. Wear the Extreme for a significantly longer lasting scent.

mariotgomez

I enjoying wearing this fragrace in the Spring and Summer. It is a refreshing scent and light. Eau D'Orange Verte is not long wearing or over powering in hot climates(if desire longer wearing get the concentrate version).
