I love this one, so unique and original! So sad that it’s discontinued, I’ll have to try a dupe! It’s gourmand, yet sexy and addictive! All the notes come through with cinnamon taking the lead, but honestly I don’t know what immortelle smells like so I can’t comment on that particular note. This is so divine! I was able to get an ok amount for 30 bucks, but I know I will need more of this delicious scent! I can’t stop smelling my wrist! L is like a cinnamon roll with creamy vanilla orange frosting. I’m in love.

chloehollywood

This is Musc Ravageur dupe / Energy. Beautiful

This is a masterpiece. One of the few fragrances that I made sure to have back up bottles of. Notes are as stated. Smells resinous, orange and vanilla, woody and a touch of cinnamon. Reminds me of a cozy evening at Christmas time - so comforting. It is quite original for a mainstream scent. Now discontinued, a good alternative is Lira by Xerjoff, which I own and have almost finished. Performance is perfect. M. Roucel is such a genius.

Atabey_H

Being a big fan of M. Roucel, I finally gave in and bought a bottle on eBay. My bottle is from January 2017.

It opens with quite an intense orange note; not sure if it's the bitterness, but it's bordering on unpleasant sourness on my skin. The rest is a toned-down version of Musc Raveguer to my nose. I have 100ml MR, so I don't think I would have bought L de had I had a chance to test it before the purchase, esp. because L de has poor projection and longevity on me. Nonetheless, the bottle alone is something to rave about. It's so whimsical and cute.

Syrrys

It hadn't occurred to me until I saw some people mentioning the orange note (I've always previously focused on the warm notes in this one), but this bears more resemblance to Green Lover than anything else from this brand.

My understanding is that older ones were produced under license by Pacific Creations, then in the mid-2010s the designer brought production of the fragrance line inhouse (?)(Leslie-Leonor International) and began rereleasing some of the prior core fragrances with new more angular bottles and updated "vegan" formulations.

As someone who loves a lot LLs because of the anise/licorice notes, I've always struggled to place Green Lover in the house, but for anyone wishing they would bring back "L' de" I would suggest checking out Green Lover..

Later: The main difference that I'm picking up in the dry down is that Green Lover lacks some incense/myrrh that is part of the amber accord/ingredient in "L' de" instead going for a brighter finish and presumably more masculine coded musk (for those who worry about such things.)

Schondis

I love the cinnamon warmth and vanilla sweeteness, perfectly balanced out by the bitterness of orange. I'd like this in an edible cake form, although fragrance is just as good! The bottle is beautiful but seems to have zero connection to this blend unless I'm missing something ☺️

Rosiewebber

It’s like Lira but with cinnamon. A warm, sweet, and spicy scent, citrusy but gourmand. Though it unfortunately didn’t last long on me.

Anastuki

The best citrus vanilla gourmand that was ever made! The citrus in the initial spray is NOT like a cleaning product as in many other perfumes, the cinnamon gives it a spicy touch, the vanilla is dreamy, it's like a orange/lemon vanilla cake, sweet and creamy, not powdery, it's warm, rich, cozy, it smells like Christmas actually!!! It has resemblance to Lira for sure, but L de Lolita is much, much better!!! I can't believe they discontinue the best ones. BRING THEM BACK!!

Speirune

I already reviewed this back in the day but hopped in here to say after the TikTok fame of Bianco Latte: it has been so many years so maybe i’m mistaken - but BL dry down smells exactly like the dry down of this perfume. So if this was your favorite, maybe try BL.

pbeloborodova

After reading glowing reviews here, I snagged a used bottle from Mercari. The initial whiff brings forth dry bitter orange peel, a touch of bergamot, and incense, with a subtle hint of anise. It transports me back to the South Asian cultural centers I used to frequent in my younger days. As time passes, the orange takes center stage, becoming more lush and juicy, while the scent hugs closer to the skin. To catch the sweet cinnamon-vanilla heart, I had to press my nose against my skin. The drydown unfolds into a delightful sweetness dominated by prominent vanilla and tonka beans, devoid of any spiciness. Contrary to my expectations based on reviews, I anticipated a lemon cake-like sweetness with less incense, but I appreciate the way it turned out even more. I just wish it had more projection. It's a unique fragrance, and it's a shame it was discontinued.

UK-rain

Gorgeous unique perfume. To my nose it smells as if there's myrrh in there. I'm astonished it's not listed (?)
I prefer this to others from this house which use a lot of anise/ licorice which I can't get used to.

Eeveey

I have a sealed 30ml bottle for sale❤️

Eve_evolution

An amazing delicious gourmand scent, expertly blended and smells like a delicious expensive lemon cake + something extra.

Charmedbymeghan

This smells amazing and reminds me a lot of Kerosene Unknown Pleasures. Love! I do get the Lira comparison too, but it's much closer to Unknown Pleasures.

Adore it. It's tasty, literally makes me hungry.
Smells like vanilla ice cream. Fantastic. Vanilla cupcake. Nice and cozy. Pity the longevity is so poor.
Pity they discontinued.

OfTheValley

Bring this beauty back!!! I am left with an almost empty bottle and a well done dupe (Divain), which is close to it only after 5 minutes and lasts a lot less long. I am so sad... One of my favourites, and that bottle is stunning. Why, oh why did they discontinue this perfect scent?
To the perfume review now:
Imagine a better blended version of Lira, where the initial citrus note lingers on without being screechy, and where the cinnamon-ginger combo in the background plays hide and seek with a subtle, creamy vanilla giving gingerbread vibes. It's sweet and spicy, but not too much.
It is gourmand, but not in the face.
It is a skin scent and lasts a full day: a compliment getter, always, no exceptions.
Office safe, cozy, delicious, unusual, bright, warm, but mystical.
The bottle is a work of art, the scent is more elegant than Lira (there, I have said it), Akro Bake, Devotion and all other citrus vanilla attempts of the last years.
One of my favourite perfumes ever, forever missed.

Calvinrock

I'm super lucky I managed to find this perfume... was looking for it for ages.
When I first sprayed it a week ago I was so shocked because it wasn't what I was expecting at all, I gave it a bit of time and just now sprayed it and I can say that this genuinely smells like a well-blended Cinamon, Gingerbread cookie, with just a bit of Smoky incense in the air.. I'm not sure what Immortelle smells like but I get a bit of Chamomile added in as well!
This is really unique, I wouldn't wear this in summertime only in cold weather! Like many of LL fragrances when I spray this I imagine a beautiful female, this time around I imagine a Whimsigothic female with Long copper hair, is a witch who loves arts and crafts ♥ opulent.

LanaDelSlay

I can still remember wearing this in the 00s. Smelled like pure sugar sweetened by vanilla in a realistic way not cheap way.

UnseenPoetry

i finally own this. it's beautiful. it's understated. it's a joyous burst of soft caramel and delicate citrus. drydown is sweet and subtle. stays on clothes for a considerable amount of time.
update=I figured out how to make this scent by combining two fragrance samples. if I ever run out of this, it will never be a problem heheheh

lachrymarum

this is the first perfume i purchased as a tween, and it still holds up. i've since moved far, far, far away from gourmand-heavy fragrances. it's like a complex creamsicle.

MMM2023

Wonderful vanilla parfum, layered and exciting, like a summer day. Vanilla sometimes can be very simple but the pairing here turns it into a great journey for the nose. Different ingredients come in and disappear. Bottle design is gorgeous too.

JSpines

How have I never reviewed this until now???!!!
When you first spray this one on your skin, it almost smells like it's gone off but rest assured, it hasn't. This perfume needs a few minutes to settle down and once it does, it's stunning.
I get something smokey coming through that I believe is from the bergamot. It grounds the fragrance, giving it depth and character and making it something more than a straight-on gourmand scent. On my skin, I get the most delicious glazed orange cake note, sprinkled with a dash of cinnamon. I get a hint of sandalwood in the base and believe that the vanilla/tonka combination is what's contributing to the "cakey" impression.
It's an absolute travesty that this was discontinued.
I'm on my second bottle but doubt that I'll ever own a third with the way the prices for this have blown-up.
When people talk about fragrances being gems, this one is right up there with the best of them!
As a side-note, I layered this with Bath & Body Works' new fragrance, Iced Lemon Pound Cake and it was "chef's kiss!"

Kbylie

I just bought JPG La Belle le Parfum and my gosh it gave me a throwback to L de Lolita. The Tonka bean and vanilla are so similar.

5hinee

This is a gem .
I just don't get why would they discontinue this beautiful scent?
This was the inspiration behind lira
I love both and will buy lira but this is special
I'm trying to get a backup bottle
This is cozy warm beautiful citrus spiced vanilla scent.
It's citrus fresh balanced by the warm spicy sweet cinnamon and creamy sensual musk and the immortelle is what's making it unique ,it gives it this slight honyed herbaceous kick that reminds me of tobacco mixed with the smoky tonka just divine
It's grounded by the sandalwood that gives it depth and Oriental touch with the beautiful sweet rich sophisticated vanilla.
There's is a hint of saltiness in this that's brilliant, it's just a hint not quite prominent but it's there.
There's a warm ambery feel to it
This is just stunning.
It's seductive ,warm ,cozy, rich, smooth and inviting.
It's addictive and unique.

Princessy

Sweet, cozy and strong scent. It's like 75% gourmand and 25% citrusy, for comparison I find Lira 50% gourmand, 50%gourmand.

L is long lasting with a moderate sillage and perfect for the colder months thanks to the cinnamon. If you are looking a dupe you should try the one by Divain, it's 95% similar. Tendre Madeleine is more a dupe of Lira.

I layered this with the lotion and the body mist Bare Vanilla Luxe from Victoria's Secret and it's divine !

AleshaA

The vanilla and tonka usually have an effect on the colour change in the bottle
Most of my vanilla based perfumes have this effect but it shouldn’t make a difference in the quality of the fragrance

kayvee1102

My bottle of this fragrance is an amber brown color. Has anyone else seen this? I'm wondering if it is still okay to use? It smells okay but all the photos show the juice to be a pale blue.

Enrium

Lolita Lempicka seems to specialise in perfumes that are fun and feminine yet deceptively clever. I have loved several scents from this house, most notably the original Lolita Lempicka in the purple apple-shaped bottle - my favourite gourmand. I was keen to try L for a long time, it being frequently recommended as a good sweet amber scent, and I recently acquired a miniature from c. 2010. The pretty bottle is mermaid-like, another whimsical fairytale-inspired creation from this brand, and happily, the scent inside lives up to my expectations. A warm, rich amber-vanilla scent, it is just the kind of thing I crave in cold weather. Good quality and surprisingly timeless and mature despite its marketing, L is really good stuff.

Vanilla is present from initial spray, sweet and rich but not syrupy, forming the backbone of this scent. A lovely orange note is evident at the opening, adding some citric freshness. Alongside the smooth vanilla, it feels like orange blossom, creamy and sweet.

The amber develops as the scent progresses, initially soft and increasingly musky, slightly animalic. It marries beautifully with the vanilla, forming a rich, cosy and satisfying amber-vanilla accord. Cinnamon adds a hint of warm spice, complementing it to perfection.

The drydown is slightly powdery, with the vanilla becoming dry and a hint of tonka bean adding soft spice. Some woodiness creeps in here, and it becomes a musky amber-vanilla skin scent as it fades. Sillage is strong and longevity is long-lasting.

One of the best amber-vanilla perfumes I've tried, L is sweet and feminine, yet high-quality and sophisticated despite its simplicity. Rich, smooth, creamy and just the right amount of sweet, it is a great winter scent featuring an unchallenging amber note. It is a real shame that this has been discontinued - but worth the eBay mark-up I paid for it. Excellent. 4.5/5.

Hooeee, this has a very sweet opening exactly like Campino orange creamsicle hard candy. A sexy musk emerges in the drydown, with immortelle and cinnamon adding a push-pull texture that's still smooth and creamy. Although I haven't smelled Lira for comparison, this is delicious and interesting in its own right--but some might not bother hunting down a bottle of this, given the exorbitant prices on ebay. Decent sillage and longevity.

meldloves

It’s lovely, gourmand, soft and creamy. I tested Lira and immediately I felt a resemblance but, I like L better because it’s not powdery. It used to be my signature scent years ago, so I have a miniature bottle from back then, I just opened it, and although the color went darker I’m happy to say the scent didn’t change, I love it. So sad it’s discontinued.

LiliiiS

I have a bottle of this perfume which was made in 2012 according to it's batch code(unfortunately doesn't have the gold linings on it) but I opened and used it first in 2016.now I revisited it and it's liquid has darkened. I can smell alcohol when I first spray it but fortunately the alcohol goes away in two seconds and the scent is as good as it used to be.
it opens with a fresh, slightly citrusy note and I'm not into citrusy scents but soon vanilla and cinnamon kick in, creating this warm, delicious scent which reminds me of my beloved Xerjoff Lira. it's like a vanilla scent with spicy, citrusy, powdery twists.very yummy but eventhough it's a true gourmand, it has some freshness and it's totally unisex IMHO. I find Lira sweeter, rounder and even more delicious thanks to it's caramel note. to be honest I love Lira more than this. but still L de Lolita is a huge love too. designer brands should stop discontinuing some of their best perfumes.

Acidula

I tried Lira in a fancy store and I loved it, not enough to justify the whopping price. I read that L by Lempicka smells very similar so I bought a vintage miniature and a 100ml dupe, to make a comparison. I have to admit that the dupe (by Divain) is so good that it made me interrupt the research of a full, expensive bottle. The original is a bit more uplifting in the opening and complex (Maurice Roucel style) in the drydown, but if you look for the coziness, delicate sweetness of the original fragrance, I strongly recommend this dupe. Duration is not excellent but it's office friendly for all seasons and I keep a bottle at work to spray it now and then.

karmachameleon

I bought this in the summer last year and I liked it a lot at that time. In the summertime I loved it in the evening as it felt so soft and dreamy. But it wasn't until where I live got a very big chill that I 1000% got why this is so cherished. It has become so complex and harmonious with these cold winter days, and I could feel it as much as smell as it blended with the cold air. It smelled powdery and sweet in the summer like- yes its true, sugar cookies- but in a grown up artisinal way like you had baked them yourself and not like you are trying to become the cookie like a lot of gourmands sometimes end up emulating. Winter has made its lactonic notes come through more like freshly made icecream, a savory creamier vanilla without the maillard reaction. To be overly-dramatic, L de Lempicka makes me feel less like a seeker of sweet, but Gourmand's Keeper itself. Or maybe just a baker. This and Fleur de Corail are seasonal sisters that deserve respect, I hope Lolita Lempicka considers bringing them back or going a similar direction in the future.

perfumequeen5

This has been a grail of mine ever since I got into perfume almost 5 years ago. I finally managed to get my hands on a full 100ml vintage batch bottle for $110 AUD. Patience will pay you handsomely when you don't cave into extortionate prices. My expectations were high due to a plethora of reasons like my love for the house of Lempicka, the ethereal bottle design, the rave reviews, and the time accumulated, waiting in anticipation for a reasonable deal.

I was skeptical because citrus is among my least favorite notes but I was willing to take a chance. The initial spray is a sharp intense blast of cinnamon and immortelle, to the point of being medicinal. This was worrying but perfumery is about giving chances and being patient. So I waited and to my surprise, my dismay turned into intrigue as a wave of a cinnamon butter cookie washed over me. Even the citrus added a pleasant orange poppy seed biscuit aroma, further building upon the imagery of a bakery filled with assorted sweets. As with a batch of cookies, you must allow time and heat to give it that perfectly soft and crumbly texture that melts in your mouth. L de Lolita embodies this sentiment and the payoff is one of the most comforting warmths perfumery has to offer.

Grade: B+

Coziness in a bottle

The first time I smelled Lira, it reminded me of L. The first time I smelled L, it reminded me of Musc Ravaguer. They all contain citrus, cinnamon, musk and vanilla. Lira and Musc Ravaguer contain lavender and that's the main difference to me. I love them all. I am soooo happy I found a full bottle of L that still smells amazing! But, if you layered MR and Lira, you could come close.

UPDATE:
Okay. I have it now.
Yes, I definitely get the big love for this perfume (in the reviews below).

It actually reminds me of Casmir Chopard. Not a dupe but definitely in the same family. (I wore both of these two together the next day and I love them together!).

I will say right away, this isn’t bombastic enough for me. Its also not terribly long lasting, and quite diffusive and quiet in the way it projects. People will go nose blind quickly to this.

My juice is brown, and at first spray I was put off, until it dried down. It definitely takes time to show you what it is. Pungent and off putting at first, you will likely think it’s gone bad. But 15 minutes in you will understand the love for this one, like I did.

It’s incredibly unique. I used to have meharees, and I understand the comparisons. This, however is sweeter, and not AS dry as meharees. Both have that “dry spices” thing going on, but meharees is much drier.
They are not dupes, and also… meharees didn’t last on me, and it also contained a big helping of myrrh, which I am never crazy about in perfumes.

I do love this, though,

I don’t find it a full blown gourmand, which I am glad about. It might, though, in the air, smell straight up like spiced orange cake. I don’t know.
What I smell as it radiates from my skin is a gorgeous orange spiced tea, moreso than, say, cake.

I bought a 50 bottle, and I think I am satisfied with the amount I have, because I already have several back ups of my one HG perfume, which, so far, nothing has been able to top.

But this is undeniably beautiful and very unique. I will enjoy wearing it this winter.

It’s definitely a treasure.

The bottle, to me, is really gorgeous. One of my favorite bottles in my collection. The brown juice contrasted with the aquamarine blue glass makes it look even more like a rustic, haunted, treasure from the bottom of the sea. It all works together, whether this was intended or not.
I actually suspect it was discontinued because the juice turns brown so quickly (I’d bet money on it). The color change, however, has not seemed to affect the scent at all.

I’d say this is a powdery (powdered spices, as opposed to talcum) oriental, with a gourmand twist.

Update: I caved and bought a big bottle for a great price. Sadly, it’s lacking the gold netting, and it’s really not as beautiful without it (terrible decision of the makers to stop using the gold netting) however the juice has not turned brown, it’s clear as a crystal, and the fragrance is definitely slightly “fresher” than my brown juice. I would not say, however, that it smells better or worse. I like the aged juice just as much as I like the “fresher” one. In fact I may enjoy it more.
———————————————-
Certain chemicals like vanilla turn brown quickly, but this normally does not change the scent.

Another example would be “Bath and Bodywork’s” body creams that contain vanilla turn a deep yellow in a very short time. I personally like the color because it looks like butter! Haha.

I have long experience using old discontinued products because I am weird and enjoy vintage things. I’ve used 30 year old conditioner before, and it was totally fine and in fact a much better formula than I can find these days. In fact, I have found that most products hold up perfectly well for a much longer time than most people realize.

The color change has nothing usually to do with the scent going off.

I ordered a small bottle of this for a good price because the reviews here make it way too tempting.

I will come back to review next week.

emilymonroe1

Divine. It feels cozy and welcoming, and it brings up fond memories. I can smell something new and lovely every time I smell my wrist. I'm at a loss for words. This is my all-time favourite scent. One of the very few scents, if not the only one, that truly captured my heart was this one. It's so amazing, creamy, sweet, and all-around delicious that I find it hard to believe it's no longer available. I wish it would eventually reappear on the market. That is just what this smell deserves. Miss out on this lovely scent!

Reinanae

Perhaps the bottle I tried from contained a formula that's turned? (The fragrance has been discontinued for years after all). I could tell the bottle was a bit aged, but the liquid was still quite clear. Now, I adore sweet gourmand scents, and I love cinnamon notes, but this stuff is horribly cloying to me. It contains so much cinnamon that it smells masculine and heavy on my skin, on my clothes, and in the air. I couldn't wait to wash it off of my skin. It kind of reminds me "old spice" with licorice, if it was old, stale, or spoiled. I have tried Original Lolita Lemicka by LL, and LolitaLand which are both also sweet unique scents. Of the 2, Lolitaland is my favorite. It's super sweet, yet fresh, juicey, and ultra feminine without being too "girlish" on the dry down. I certainly took an "L" with L by LL. I don't recommend this unless you love licorice, cinnamon, and heavy sweet powdery scents.

bowsandbouquets

I love this fragrance. I'm a fan of the original Lolita Lempika and this is a great gourmand scent for warmer weather (although probably a bit heavy for truly hot weather). I think this is another scent that lovers of Love & Crime would love. It reminds me of chocolate coverage oranges, it's delicious. I wasn't aware it was discontinued and now I'm hoarding my single bottle hoping it's brought back.

Catalina Marie

This smells like an orange vanilla cupcake, or rather, the scent in the air of a wonderful bakery that is making orange vanilla cupcakes. No challenging notes, no sophisticated vibe, not a hint of edginess—and yet it is not too sweet or cloying. It is just edible, delicious, comforting. I love wearing it to bed with a light mist on my pillow when I need simple, when I need happy.

Mangotree

I bought this fragrance almost 10 years ago in high school on a whim at Sephora. Fast forward to now, as I dive back into fragrances..I couldn't even remember the name of the perfume and started on a mad hunt for the "perfume with a flat blue bottle." What an emotional rollercoaster to find the fragrance then learn it has been discontinued! I'm relieved to see my taste in high school wasn't all that horrible.

All that to say: PLEASE bring this fragrance back! It is clearly missed by many, including myself.

lizaan

Plase please please bring this gorgeous fragrance back 😢

Fliss

This is gorgeous but I have found a dupe at Perfume Parlour called Bourdeaux II 0291 . Very Similar

Chinello23

I was lucky enough to find a full unspoiled bottle of this, but because of the beauty of it I had to give it to my mum. As soon as I smelled it I thought to myself… there’s no way this belongs on me. But by god it’s perfection.

It is divine. I am so sad it’s discontinued and nobody knows any good dupes. I treated myself to a spray of my mums gifted bottle and my eyes rolled to the back of my head, it's seriously that good.

I really think cinnamon is a holy grail of perfume notes. This perfume is a sweet dessert of no comparison. If you ever find a bottle, don’t even hesitate.

mermaidshimmer

I'm wearing this for the first time in my new office and this happened just now!

My boss walked in and she said "I just smelled the most delicious dessert in the breezeway".

So I came out of my office and asked my boss if this is it...(and stuck out my wrist). She closed her eyes and smiled and said "That's it! Did you walk up such and such path? (outside)"

I answered "no", but I went the other direction. We were both floored as to the powerful sillage this gorgeous perfume emits. The breeze must have carried my scent trail in the opposite direction.

She said this is a beautiful fragrance and it evokes special memories for her....like cardamom and cinnamon and vanilla spices from her favorite childhood foods.

LOVE THIS!!

Lunyaren

i'm in an eternal search of a dupe of this perfume. i just love smelling like a bakery full of sweets. i honestly miss it.

staka01

I love cinnamon notes and I enjoyed Lira so I was looking forward to trying this. I get a very yummy cinnamon, less citrus than Lira has but just as addictive. I feel it is less gourmand than Lira, which I could almost eat, and thus more wearable. And finally the bottle - I love it.

Today is 70-F(21-C) and this is delicious in warm weather. It was the only successful blind buy out of 8 blind buys, so I’ve learned my lesson. Lemons and caramelized vanilla…It’s actually better now than on cooler days and from this I’ve come to the conclusion that all of the scents I like or love and find weak and disappointing in my collection, that I am going to wear them on warm days and then decide if they are keepers. 8/10-delicious, weak. Would not repurchase.

miriamcarothers

This was on my must try list for ages. Saw it on MaxAroma for $80 and was like- fine. Finally under $150 or whatever insane prices it’s at now.
Just arrived and I can happily report it’s not spoiled as I’d feared. It’s also really pretty! Cinnamon vanilla cookies. Maybe a wee bit of orange zest tossed in the batter before baking.
I’ll need to think about what it reminds me of because I’ve def smelled/possibly own similar vanilla scents.
I just sprayed Nicolaï “Vanilla Tonka” on one wrist and L de Lempika on the other and it’s an incredibly close match. Odd nobody had suggested this yet.

Oh my! If only I could marry a perfume!!
I have several turned bottles in storage. god please bring this back on market

AnlisaC

Whoa this is amazing. Does it smell like Lira? Sort of, but with less lemon 🍋. Oh wow I love this! Vanilla is the main note in this but not a girly vanilla it is very well blended with the bergamot, bitter orange and immortelle. Projection is very good, longevity is very good also. Such a shame that this is again discontinued, but if you find this for a reasonable price snag it! Highly recommended 10/10

BERENGARIA

One of the nicest perfumes this side of Heaven!
Truly Gorgeous!
Out of this world!

squishfish

Ohhhh my trusty old friend, how I do miss you!! I have a bottle of this with around 20ml left, the juice is slightly dark but it still smells divine. How this was discontinued is beyond me, it was a stand out! I have now settled for Xerjoff - Lira which smells very similar but without the slight bitterness of L by Lolita.

cumulnimbus

Sweet gourmand delight: citrus, dried flowers, spices and creamy vanilla. L is fun, cozy, edible and still delicate. Charming liquid in an ugly bottle. I can't see any similarity to Musc Ravageur, but I have it on the same shelf of my perfume cabinet where Tendre Madeleine rests. Another discontinued beauty.

ragtagbobtail

I bought this blind based on reviews here and when I initially smelled it I thought it was just okay. The bergamot and the bitter orange is so overwhelming, as well as the musk, and I am not a huge fan of bergamot, but it seems like they always add it to the 'spicy' perfumes. I decided to try it on my body and yet again, the overwhelming bergamot and bitter orange stuck around for a while. I can definitely smell the vanilla and cinnamon, but the top notes do not fade on me. I had to pair this with Kayali Vanilla to calm the top notes. After a couple hours I was sitting in my office and my male coworker said I smelled good, but again it was the orange and vanilla that he smelled LOL! In the end, I will wear this, but it'll be rare. Usually spicy perfumes pair well with my body chemistry, but this one is a little let down.

nisadani

I constantly dream about this perfume. It was my signature scent in late HS/college. I remember often getting compliments, over spraying because I loved it so much and had no purpose other than to be doused by spiced orange sweetened with vanilla and that hint of marine quality perhaps from the immortelle. I recently purchased Lira because it was the closest thing I could find to recreate that scent. I may layer Lira with Beach Walk from MM to see if I can get those mermaid vibes again.

Alces Alces

Probably L was discontinued because of the bottle. It's a beautiful bottle from the boudoir of a mermaid, turquoise like a tropical sea, and adorned with gold netting, the sort of bottle from which you would expect to spray forth a bright salty citrus aquatic. Only that is not what happens...this bit of sea glass sprays forth a sensuous warm vanilla cinnamon spice and amber fragrance like a precious oil to anoint an ancient queen. The disconnect between the aesthetic of the bottle and the experience of the scent must have confused customers and caused sales to flag, ultimately leading to the discontinuation of L.

That's the only excuse I can see for discontinuing this gorgeous sensuous comforting hug of a fragrance. Christmas in a bottle. If L had been packaged in an exotic vial less reminiscent of the sea, there's a chance it would have developed more of a following, more sales, and ultimate longevity. Look up the bottles for Secret Obsession or for Xia Xiang, for example.

To me it is a sweeter feminized version of Musc Ravageur, similar to but stronger than Dumont Tendre Madeleine (and thankfully without the almond note). Winter, cold clear days and nights, beautiful spicy comfort.

Karinapricilla

This is my first perfume blind buy ever. I bought it cos i tried sample of xerjoff lira but just can’t stand the price of it. I was super excited for L to come in the mail, quickly opened it and spritz few sprays on my wrist. I was disappointed as it smells completely different from Lira. On first spray, all i get is the spicyness of the orange or cinnamon, it’s just too oriental for my taste. But 15 minutes later, I sniffed my wrist again and think ‘oh i got it now why people say this is similar with lira’.

So my final thoughts are; first sprays smells nothing similar to Lira as L is very oriental spicy. But the dry down is definitely similar. If I’m gonna wear this perfume, i’ll spray 20 minutes before i go out of the house just to get those sweet vanilla dry down.

blue_roses

This was a blind buy a few years ago, and I still have a small amount left that I will cherish and save for special occasions. It reminds me ever so slightly of what I loved about Coco and Shalimar. A warm, comforting, and spicy incense that is perfect for a cold winter day or getting dressed up for a winter holiday gathering. The dry down is reminiscent of holiday "cookies" - cinnamon, vanilla, and anise.

adriannebraun

I will never stop loving-- or dreaming about the return of-- L de Lolita Lempicka. It is easily my favorite fragrance of all time. It was the perfect combo of sweet and spicy, like nag champa incense burning while you sip a citrus cocktail. I will have to try some of the suggested dupes!

dismalharmony

Creamy, dreamy spiced vanilla-tonka heaven! Even though the juice has browned and the longevity has been compromised, it’s still a lovely, warm, extremely gourmand fragrance that I see myself enjoying throughout the holiday season.

Perfumedsecrets

I found it! Thought I had thrown or given this away some years back, but after a hell of a search I found it in a box of many discontinued gems. Still smells of the coziest cinnamon vanilla.

Rosita61

I just picked this up, and it is definitely the most comforting vanilla cinnamon fragrance I’ve ever smelled. I also get a very light nice freshness to it. But If I were to compare this to an edible item, it’d be flan. Yuuuummmmm. Definitely going to get a lot of wear this fall!

boygirl

Judt got this in the mail and the opening smells ever so slightly like fresh diapers on me. Will try to wait this out but its so odd

NordicWays

This was my first blind buy based on all the good reviews I've read here. I love Musc Ravageur and I can see the same creative influence behind this fragrance. On my skin 'L' is slightly smoky and not overly sweet which I love. It is wonderfully intoxicating, like MR, and I've decided I have to have both.

lorna.1

I was so lucky to buy this gorgeous fragrance boxed and sealed. The juice is still right in colour, and the bottle is lovely. It is a warm and spicy scent that, for me, says autumn and wintertime. The bottle is an enigma, and the fragrance is not a salty aquatic as the bottle suggests with its blue heart pebble and fishing net with the pearls and starfish.
Because of the mismatch with the bottle and scent, I never bought it when it came out.
Now I wonder if this put off anyone else.
The bottle says summer, and the fragrance say winter.
L is orange and cinnamon heaven with a hearty cloud of vanilla, and it's sweet, creamy too. I imagine it lasted a long time, but the age of this fragrance means the longevity is compromised. I may get 3-4 hours at best, but it is worth it. I bury my face into it.
I would love it to return. PLEASE- EVEN IF THE BOTTLE WAS DIFFERENT!
I am getting Lira soon and can't wait to compare them.

Turquoise11

Warm vanilla Sugar cookies, drizzled in caramel, topped with orange zest for decoration with a gingerbread latte by its side. What a warm, sweet, comforting fragrance. Although this is not at all what I expected and nothing like the original Lolita Lempicka it is so good.

Sea salt isn’t listed in the notes but my nose definitely detects salt. For the first few minutes there is a strange note that almost turns me off but only on my skin so it must be my chemistry but once that dissipates the true beauty really shines. I never mix fragrances but I’m going to try this atop Prada Infusion Amande. Powdery almonds would take this to an entirely different level for me.

The bottle is Absolutely gorgeous.

angelarge03

Wearing this during summer in the Philippines and I still love it. What a shame it's discontinued.

Nomen

Seldom are the opportunities when I decide to wear L, but whenever I do, I can't help but thinking: They don't make perfumes like this any more.
L is extreme. Extremely yummy, extremely spicy, extremely warm and extremely long lasting.
I even get some leather from it, but I get dominant leather from the good ole Addict, too.
To me, L is like a younger, less seductive and more gourmand version of Addict. They carry equally rich vanilla, smooth phantom leather and exotic spices, but L is more innocent and girly, while Addict is the Femme Fatale.
The bottle is a piece of art, that ambivalently heart shaped, water polished gem, and that photogenic turquoise liquid, but indeed it says nothing of the very scent. The scent doesn't behave well in summertime, I can tell you that much. In the warmer weather it develops the infamous plastic impression, such as VC&A Vanille Orchidee does. But during the cooler months, those two make the best, HQ vanilla based fragrances out there. Signature worthy!
That candied burnt orange peel is everything! It's Christmas in a bottle, forget the visual, even though its pretty. Thay don't make such bottles any more, either. But it doesn't give the fragrance justice anyways: one may think it's not being a perfume for grown ups. It doesn't look niche, even though it certainly smells and behaves that way. Five stars.

Fire_Rabbit

I had this perfume years ago, loved it instantly. So cozy, so warm, so sensual! I used it up like an idiot and then it disappeared off the shelves. Recently, it came to mind again. I knew I had to have it. I was lucky to find a 15ml parfum of this on eBay for £72. I received it in the post today. So relieved I have this in my possession once more. I shall use it sparingly and wisely. She’s getting rarer and rarer to find. The parfum smells exactly like the edp I used to own. Silage is a beast!

Jacobean Lily

L is a confection creating a cosy, warming, comforting blanket of scent.
This is a creamy-smooth vanilla taking me straight to memories of buttery icing on a just-baked polenta-orange cake. This olfactory cake/memory is infused with cinnamon and honeyed spice.
It's utterly delicious and satisfing, but one slice is more than enough.
The musk which envelopes in dry-down is of the candied musk-stick variety; amplified childhood experiences of sensory pleasures, in one perfume.
L is innocence incarnate.

Haiku of the day

essence of childhood
vanilla icing on cake
one slice is enough

pearl1988

This is such an oriental spicy, smoky, leathery, Tabaco-like, cosy, incensy, boozy vanilla. sandalwood/musk/immortelle combo is to die for. This was my signature fragrance, and I don't think I'll find anything quite like it again. Maybe something just as delicious, but def not the same.

xxdarkstarxx

Lira by Xerjoff is my all time favourite fragrance of all time so I needed to try L de Lolita Lempika and was able to get my hands on one. The juice turned brown due to the vanilla which sucks because the bottle is absolutely stunning with the clear juice but whatever the bottle is still beautiful. Upon my initial blast ...please don't hate me....to me it smelt like a fake tanning lotion (maybe because the juice inside is old?) but but but....within the next 5 minutes oh my goodness I can completely understand why people have been saying it reminds them of Christmas. To me all I can think of is molasses dark vanilla cookies. I get some but very little orange syrup vibe going on but all I smell is dense dark molasses. If you love gourmands you have to try this. Too bad this is discontinued it really is beautiful however Lira beats it for me. Lira just has that lemon zest and that smooth caramel cookie vibe (smells a little like fruit loops). I asked my friend to smell both Lira & L on my wrists and he told me "they both smell the same but L is more stronger and Lira is lighter" - makes sense to me although Lira is a loud fragrance just not a heavy fragrance..if that makes sense lol. I am so happy though I have this in my collection. Longevity on my skin is about 5 hours and projection for about 2 hours. Perfect for winter & cooler days!

Andre4242

This is very cozy and somewhat nostalgic? scent. On first blast I get a sweet chocolate citrus, almost like an orange creamsicle dipped in chocolate! This subsides in about 15 minutes and then here comes the fresh baked goodness!! It’s like a batch of spicy vanilla cookies with candied orange zest and a bit of sea salt on top. So happy I finally got my hands on a bottle of this! Very delicious and addictive!

Firechaser

Best perfume ever. Please come back. I miss you so much. I scored two minis at a store in Seattle. I smell one every day to lift my spirits. I am afraid if I wear it, it will be gone I won’t find more.

fawneyed_sita

This is such a simple and comforting composition. It's just a light airy vanilla, perfect for the winter season when you need a scent to cuddle you in for those cold stormy nights. It is sweet vanilla with cinnamon and a little hint orange to lighten the scent, yes I get the Christmas cookies association. The impression it leaves is a soft airy bakery sweets. I happened to snag mine from a third party seller on the Walmart website, the bottle I received was filled with a light brownish liquid, which makes sense since the fragrance had been out of production for a while, and some of the ingredients may have oxidized or otherwise degraded. I was concerned that the fragrance had gone off but luckily the scent was still beautiful. Performance on this one is meh, though again that may be because the one I got is so old its degenerated somewhat. I don't mind having to spritz myself pretty aggressively with this (something I never do, I'm a 1-2 spray kinda gal) though because the scent is so light and airy its hard to overdo.

Nilodlien

This is one of my favorites that I don’t see myself being without. Spicy, vanilla, gourmand - but different enough from the million other ones out there. On me it draws just enough salt to make it interesting. Such a good one.

domynatrix

siento que soy viuda de L... lo conocí muy tarde :(
qué delicia de olor! muy delicado, muy invernal..

apleip5993

Found a bottle on Mercari but after just testing it now I’m worried that it might have gone off. Am I supposed to be smelling a Smokey, almost “tobacco-like” note in it?

Aeris

I’m still mourning your loss L. I fell in love with you and Lolita Lempicka took you away from us far too soon. I miss seeing you on the shelves. I miss spraying you on me and smelling like delicious, fresh baked Christmas cookies. I miss the perfect blend of cinnamon, vanilla, immortelle, and orange. I’ve tried several similar fragrances to find a replacement. There is no replacing you. I love you. I miss you.

chocolate cosmos

To SmellyFerret,Hello there. I can honestly say that the closest match i have found to L de Lolita is Tendre Madeleine by Laurence Dumont(Les Senteures Gourmandes) It is listed above as one of the reminder scents. The opening is a direct match in my eyes and then it dries down to a softer vanilla rather than the cinnamon spice of L, it is still, however, the closest i have found. I hope this helps.x

Erica.Cass

I absolutely love this perfume! I will have this in my collection for as long as it's being sold!

nandalyne

Best perfume ever. Period.

bintTapputi

This is beautiful, simple, relaxing, sweet and with good projection. Very creamy and delicious. I don't think it does anything that hasn't been done before, but for what it is, it's really pleasant. 7/10

nandalyne

This is one of the very few fragrances - if not the only one that I’ve fallen head over heels in love with. It's just magical, creamy, sweet (not caramel sweet, but vanilla) and just so well-rounded I can't sincerely believe it's discontinued. What is wrong with Lolita Lempicka for Jesus sake? This is BY FAR their best fragrance and I will always cherish it.
L smells like family, happiness, lots of spicy food and, more importantly, warmth and love. It's just that special and delicious. It reminds me a lot of Christmas time!

I hope it comes back to the market one day. This fragrance really deserves that.

yukitanonton

So beautiful, even more beautiful in hot humid weather. Though it projects softly, it's very long lasting. 10 hours and still counting now. The smokey Cinnamon and Vanilla are just amazing. One of the few perfumes with tonka bean that I love dearly. Try layer it with Hermes Un Jardin sur le Nil. Tropical heaven. 5/5

aldinatic

a wake up er ! Nice spicy yummi journey. interesting, unusual not too strong.
The dry down is creamier and fades away fast ....

1guy1dog3cats

Mmm, what a great discontinued gem! With L, I mainly get a creamy, slightly salty mix of cinnamon, vanilla, and amber. Though dozens of users find similarities with Xerjoff’s Lira, I beg to differ. I find that scent to have a much more prevalent citrus note, which is barely present here. To me, L harkens more to Malle’s Musc Ravageur, only with a toned-down funkiness and an absent lavender—like Musc Ravageur before it’s reached sexual maturity. Cozy instead of sexy; cuddly instead of ravaging. L comes in an adorable, kitschy bottle, all heart-shaped and adorned with charms. The presentation looks so girly, but the fragrance is very much unisex.

I own L in its EDP and EDP concentrée forms. The latter is available in a rollerball pen. The two are nearly indistinguishable, though the EDP spray has greater projection and sillage. I haven’t tried the pure parfum to compare, though it’s on my wishlist. I’ll wear whatever form with abandon as colder temperatures arrive!

ETA: I’ve been wearing L a bit in the humid summer heat. L + warmth + one hour = high cloying factor! Back to the shelf you go until summer has departed. At least you’ll look cute amongst my other scents in the meantime!

LOVE !!!!

This is one of my favorites.
I have a back-up bottle of this....thank God !!!

IMO, this does not smell like Meharees to my nose.

This is warm/cozy/spicy-ish sweet.

Sillage/longevity are medium at best, but I am still well pleased.

A Gem !!!

SmellyFerret
You can try lancome hypnose, not the same, but has the same intensive sweetness and feel, I hope you will like that one.

Words can’t even express how much I truly adore this perfume. I first got this when I was a teenager, and it’s the perfume I wore in the fall, when I met and first started dating then boyfriend, who is now my husband. We were 16 at the time. This perfume brings him and I so much joy and takes us back to the time when we were getting to know each other. So many lovely memories. I have so many perfumes but this one is so nostalgic and special to me. No other perfume I own can make me feel the way this one does. Warm with a slight spiciness, citrusy and soft. I love it so much!❤️❤️❤️

yukitanonton

@SmellyFerret you can try Meharees L'erbolario.

Just snatched it, 80ml for USD20 here in Jakarta. Seems no one wanting this perfume anymore. It's beautiful.

SmellyFerret

I recently tried a mini of this I got in a gift set of lolita lempicka minis. Wow!!! Blown away!!! This is it.. The Perfume. The One. The one smell I have searched for all my life!! Off I go to buy some. Whaaaat??????? Its been discontinued???? Nooooooooo!!!!!! I cannot believe it. I own hundreds of perfumes (I know, I know) and this is the only one that has ever evoked an emotion like this in me. I am devastated. If anyone can suggest an alternative or a dupe, I will love you for life. Ideas please????

Saira.Manahil

L de Lolita Lempicka is an absolute darling. Imagine you and your soulmate are wrapped in a cozy blanket at a beach one night. The evening breeze is slightly chilly so you start to dig your toes under the sand. You and your love are staring out into the darkness, where the stars are the only thing that distinguish the sky from the sea.

That is the image this juice evokes in my mind... the first time I laid eyes on this bottle I assumed this would be an aquatic/Beachy scent, but it’s not really aquatic to me at all. Let me explain... while the opening is bright and bitter with citrus (a common theme in marine fragrances) it fizzes away into a salty and warm vanilla, the warmth comes from the thick tonka/cinnamon mixture, which is playful yet cozy and comforting. In the end the vanilla meets a smooth sandalwood that is more sweet than woody. This fragrance also has superb performance that would be overwhelming in the summer.... in conclusion, the bergamot/orange opening and the sandalwood base would suggest a fresh aquatic scent but these notes are not used in any ozonic capacity, there is nothing watery or light about this scent. Secondly, this scent does not really have typical “beach vibes”, there is nothing sunny or breezy about it, this perfume is actually just a memory of that lovely beach morning. A memory you can now savor while snuggled next to your soulmate. And with the rising of the tide you realize you have to leave... your entire soul yearning to stay in this moment

soulflwr

This one smelled like maple syrup and musk to me. A cousin to this fragrance would be Armani Code...the musk, vanilla, and orange notes are similar.

Perfumedsecrets

I had this some years back, and I remember it smelling very similar to CSP Vanille Cannelle and Givenchy Organza Indecence. Hopefully the brand will bring it back someday.

mzfiguer

I bought this fragrance when it came out and have Lira now, to me they don't smell so similar. L has a saltiness that Lira doesn't have. I stopped using it because I started to associate it with something that happened to me, which is a shame as one shouldn't invalidate the beauty of one thing because of an unfortunate association in one's head. My sister had it, then it got lost while moving. Lira's warmth is like a pastry to me, lemony. I remember L having a salty splash to it and the cinnamon which I don't really get in Lira. No recent comments reference the salty note, which I find strange.

Vanillastorm40

I'll later this n Musc Ravageur. Mmmm.

Vanillastorm40

Oh MY!!! After reading so many good reviews, I decided to Blind buy this. I am amazed. The magic happens about 5 minutes after application. At first, I thought it was going to be too strong of a citrus scent, which I do not like. How wrong I was. This dries down into the most beautiful creamy, spicy vanilla. I can really smell the cinnamon. I love this with a capital L. Longevity is excellent. This is up there w my favorite, Alien Essence Absolue.

JenniferLatifa

So beautiful! It reminds me of the 80’s and 90’s style Vanilla perfumes. Love at first sniff

xoxoMyke

A bright, delicious oriental that vividly calls to mind Vanilla Coke with cold-cream-moisturizer nuances.

Not unisex, but I don't care. I love it!

northstar

I like to wear this with Pacifica Sandalwood. It is too cold right now, I think it will be amazing together in the summer.

NikkiD33

I am absolutely in love with this, but it sadly does not last on me. It’s gone within an hour or two. It’s heartbreaking because it’s such gorgeous scent.

minizelda

One word.

Divine.

After years of being captivated by the magnificent bottle (I've been obsessed with mermaids ever since I was a child) and being fascinated by the notes in this fragrance, I can finally say I have found a bottle and I just spritz it on my skin a few minutes ago for the first time.

Oh my God. it is Christmas in a bottle it is everything I've ever wanted in a perfume. I think I had just found my fragrance soulmate. It is so warm and inviting, it's familiar and nostalgic. Every time I smell my wrist I can smell something different and beautiful. I have literally no words this is my favourite fragrance ever. I'm getting a little Shalimar vibes from it too. It's like shalimar's little sister. I am so sad that I just fell in love with it cuz I know it's discontinued but I would be willing to pay a good amount of money to own a larger bottle just for the future.

Luxury Problem

I keep catching wafts of this floating around me in the air and wondering what smells so perfectly delicious. The sillage on this is impressive. My skin usually eats fragrance right up and after one spray I am enveloped in a heavenly cloud of this exquisiteness.

I wasn’t too sure straight out of the gate. There’s a sharpness present in this fragrance before it dries down. Like a lemon rind/Lysol note there in the beginning. Once it dries though ohhhhh myyyyy is this good. Softly spicy super creamy delicious sexy lemon vanilla custard cake. I am here for it. So glad I blind bought this one!!!

Jacklyn's Perfumery

There were two pinnacle fragrances that changed everything in the fragrance game that made an impact when it comes to Lolita Lempicka fragrances. Maurice Roucel was the perfumer behind this fragrance, and he has a history of creating masterpieces like this to Bond No 9 New Haarlem to even Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle. The first from the house was Lolita Lempicka the original fragrance made by another well known perfumer Annick Menardo who also created our precious Dior's Hypnotic Poison, and so it comes to no surprise that she could also be behind this fragrance that comes in an apple shaped blue bottle all would come to love. Lolita Lempicka truly had figured out a way to give what the people wanted at just the right time, and beautifully done from the advertisements and bottles down to the perfumers themselves.

The world was introduced to new innovative, complex gourmands at an affordable price, but more importantly Lolita Lempicka impressed the masses with its licorice, anise, violet twist. Then came out this precious beauty of a fragrance L de Lolita made by Roucel. This is Christmas in a bottle. This is an ultimate gourmand of beauty. I still don't know what happened or why this fragrance was discontinued, but it shouldn't have, and many have tried to copy it and rightfully so. It's a delectable gourmand fragrance full of zesty spices of cinnamon, and a dense sweet bitter orange mixing with a twist of vanilla. There is tonka and immortelle too, but the stars of this show are the cinnamon, orange and vanilla.

Some feel it reminds them of a orange spice cake and it does! The sillage is amazing way past arm's length and the longevity is also amazing lasting well past 6-8+ hours. And you just get continual wafts of all the spices along with the citrus and vanilla that it can make you hungry! LOL. This is what we love about Lolita Lempicka fragrances..she made fragrances that not only evolved, but took you on a journey from the ordinary into the imaginary. They are not your average fragrances by any means, and could easily be mistaken for as a niche fragrance..it's incredible. From the fanciful, beautiful heart shaped aqua bottle & juice there is no denying this was a masterful creation that should be sought out for. And because of mainstream fragrances now I dare to wonder will we ever embark on experiencing fragrances like this ever again or will they just be copied or forgotten to a past era. Copied or not, this fragrance makes most of who own it smile and rejoice that they too have found a special treasure amongst all we have come to know in perfumery.

Perfumeaddict777

Oh wow this is delicious! I'm awe struck by this perfume! It's not at all what I was expecting! I was expecting oranges and cinnamon and vanilla. At first spray I get lots of very sweet vanilla and salt mixed with some immortal. The Immortal get stronger and instead of being in the background is front-and-center the boozy vanilla is still there. I'm very surprised that nobody mentioned ylang ylang. That note is very strong on my skin. It smells like October and November! It's warm and cozy, very sweet and thick while at the same time feeling Breezy with notes of tree leaves. Leaves that are falling. I'm so happy to have this perfume it's absolutely gorgeous. It has some similarities too Elle-L-aime with the same boozy vanilla of Dior addict. It seems that this perfume is totally different depending on skin chemistry. If you get a chance to test it you need to !

NicoleET88

L de Lolita in the rollerball (Parfum Concentree)...smells exactly like buttercream frosting. Just at first "glance." A deeper inhale will find the other notes but first, the butter is salted. And it's rich, heart attack from too much cholesterol rich. Best for very cold weather, I have to be freezing and in need of a deep layer of fat for warmth, then the fragrance is all thick comfort and honeyed spice. But once Spring blew in with it's sunlight and vibrant baby green buds, I had to tuck my lovely 100ml bottle of EDP into the bathroom cabinet to wait. The sweetness became suffocating, made my head spin. But that's actually what I love about it. The scent hits like a drug, and temporarily wipes away all emotional and mental discomforts.
The sour burst of bergamot and bitter orange is eye-opening, especially in the EDP. It's herbal and flirts masculine for those first minutes. And it's cleansing. But soon that sour bite gently and imperceptibly smooths down with cinnamon and tonka and vanilla and salty musk, and nothing else matters. Strange as it sounds, this is what I believe my sweat *should* smell like, and somehow...in a way that I can't explain, it becomes believable that I do, simply...smell like this mysterious sweet substance. This is what I look for in a perfume. That ability to blend in with who I am and make me more lovely without giving away any secrets.
This is VERY sweet, and very salty. There's no "freshness" after the top notes. And it isn't floral. Yes there's immortelle, and it's GLORIOUS, but it doesn't evoke your traditional bouquet. Overall this perfume is really just...skin dessert.

Nataliemarie

Wow! I don't think I've ever seen so many reviews on a perfume! To me this is very light. Almost too light for my taste, but I do get the Gourmand/slight cinnamon. I woud love to smell the orange some of you mention, but to me, it's not there. So if anyone is afraid this is a citrus, it's not. The bottle is beautiful! I feel as if I could spray 20 sprays & no one would be offended b/c It wouldn't make it stronger. I do not regret ($55), but will not repurchase.
This woud make an AMAZING comfy Pillow Spray, I'll do that tonight! It's 'Cozy" in a bottle. A GORGEOUS bottle ;)

cocofluff

- I received this fragrance in a swap from a generous fragrantica member.

This is a fabulous gourmand scent! It smells like a vanilla cinnamon orange pie/cake. It's heady too. I love it! Discontinued gem!

Funny Cupcake Caramel similar to L Lolita lempicka. Wonderful. Made in Brazil

İt's like winter by the sea. I imagine i'm wearing something cozy, puffy and soft maybe a blanket on my shoulder while i'm walking along a beach. İt's a peaceful, warming and hugging scent.

A bit dry, dusty. I don't feel an enourmous cinnamon actually its all about dusty warm vannilla and bitter orange. İt reminds me of a fancy liquor.

I'm so happy that i can find it in my country. İs's a treasure for me, lovin it♡

aayushi5

lemon-vanilla-cinnamon-with a hint of salt (that explains the beachy bottle maybe?). It smells yummy, never too sweet and the citruses add a fresh and airy feel to it.

scohen08

"Christmassy", sweet sweet sweet. Orange, cinnamon, caramelized vanilla, and the bergamot adds something of an aquatic edge-- The sillage is HUGE. I can smell it from the bottle 3 feet away. Not the most wearable, but I can't bear to part with it.

Rose du soir

I had the luck to receive a largely used bottle of L today. What's left of it has turned yellow, but its beauty is intact : sweet cinnamon and vanilla heaven. I love cinnamon and L has the most intoxicating kind of cinnamon in a perfume. It doesn't have any of the same syrupy character that more recent sweet fragrances have, and yet it manages to be much more gourmand and yummier than any of them. The lightly powdery base that's typical of Lolita Lempicka gives even more of a soft, cosy, christmassy feeling. But at the same time, there is something tropical about it, that makes this fragrance just as pretty and wearable on warm days. How come can a perfume evoke both Winter and Summer holidays at the same time ? L does. It's versatile and unique enough to be a year round signature. And I'd be tempted to make it my signature if only it weren't so hard to find and crazy expensive.
I'm so happy I got this stunning blue bottle, even though I know I can't get attached to its content as what's left of it won't last very long. I'm tempted to buy backups, but they're so expensive and hard to find. I now get why people are fighting to get the last bottles online. I agree with ForrealMe2 and drklttllght. If you love cinnamon, you need to try L at least once.

Edit : Laurence Dumont Tendre Madeleine is a pretty good dupe of L, at least in the opening. In the far drydown, Laurence Dumont Vanille Noire is an excellent dupe of L, closer than Tendre Madeleine IMO, although L and Vanille Noire have very different openings and you'll need to wait a couple of hours to see the similarity. If you want a nice cheap dupe of L, if you love its citrus and vanilla, get Tendre Madeleine ; if you prefer longer longevity and love L's vanillic cinnamon, get Vanille Noire.

Lilacs&Lavender

I am lucky enough to own L, and I treasure it.

If you can’t find it nowadays for a decent price, try Old Spice Original (yes, a men’s cologne from the early 1900’s). They are very similar with the sandalwood, cinnamon, musk, Tonka, citrus and vanilla although Old Spice is much softer of course. That makes it more wearable in confined spaces though. Cute bottle too.

Angeldaisy

Gorgeous start with bergamot and bitterness against a soapy backdrop, smelling rather fougere to me.
over time, L slowly morphs into a warm cosy nectar.

I love that soapy note, with the hay of the immortelle and the saltiness, a slightly dirty salty amber reads ambergris to my nose.

I have tried a few vanilla orange cinnamon concoctions on my perfume sniffing journey, but I didn't wish to wear any of them, as it always felt like the perfume was wearing me.
Having worn Fleur de Corail for a few years and then trying this, there is more than a passing resemblance! They are indeed jolly similar and my brain is almost imagining that beautiful sun soaked driftwood in this also.

I am not a vanilla cupcake kind of girl, but this, I thoroughly enjoy. Someone in a review likened it to a fougiental. I agree.

And it reminds me of Shalimar Parfum Initial L'eau, without all that billowy powder.
Lovely. Could be my favourite Lolita so far.

Beth

For those of you lamenting the discontinuation of L de Lolita, please, please, please check out the excellent and delectable Black Flower Mexican Vanilla by Dame Perfumery. It’s very similar, except it doesn’t have the bitter top notes that L de Lolita has (and the reason why I swapped mine away—don’t pop my balloons! LOL) IMO, it’s better and the price, you’ll see, is quite nice. There’s a body cream, to boot! Check it out!

drklttllght

Thank you, ForrealMe2!

I'm gobsmacked. I have read all the reviews and I had a really good feeling about this buy... but dear lord, I wasn't ready.

If you can pick this up and you like special gourmands then I will second her sentiment and say you need to experience this at least once in your life.

After I sprayed this I knew I had to come here. I received another perfume today and promptly ignored it after smelling this. It became superfluous.

Wow.... it smells cozy and sexy. I get cinnamon jammed inside of an orange drizzled over a rich vanilla wafer. That description doesn't do it justice.

I don't know about longevity or sillage just yet but with how it's surrounding me with the tiny sprays I did I have high hopes.

This scent is making me want to buy just one more as a back up. The urge is stupid strong. I highly recommend this perfume. And I also question why it was discontinued, smdh.

sushimaw

I almost gave up hope of getting my hands on a bottle, until fate brought me to one, for just $30.

This is a beautiful scent. I think it's very well rounded for a gourmand - spicy, musky, citrus vanilla. Very similar to Xerjoff Casamorati Lira, but without the caramel. Longevity on clothes is excellent - more than 12 hours and my 1 spray is still going strong; less so on my skin, about 6 hours and it's gone.

If I can find another bottle, I'll definitely buy a backup. It's such a shame they discontinued this.

Coquita

It's delicious, just like a vanilla muffin. However, I'm not looking forward to smelling like pastries.

Update 3/26/20: OK, I'll have to retreat my comment. I retried this and I'm enjoying it a lot. It's true that the initial phase is very muffiny, but after 30 minutes or so it morphs into something less gourmand and more spicy, where I still smell the vanilla and cinnamon, but the citrus notes tone down, making it a lot sexier. The tonka, which is not one of my favorites notes, is very prominent in this middle phase, but it gives it an allure that I appreciated a lot. The late dry-down (and I'm taking LATE, as I've been wearing this for over 10 h and I still get a good projection) adds up the immortelle and amber notes, making this really enjoyable. Also, it's very similar to Meharées by L'Erbolario, in case you liked it and are looking for a dupe.

Lilacs&Lavender

L is the only fragrance to turn me into a vanilla/oriental/gourmand lover.

Exceptional.

Jdmarsh17

This was actually a blind buy thanks to Fragrantica! Every perfume I own or love, the recommendations to the side mentioned this. I am in love! The top notes are a yummy, spicy vanilla! Very sweet and warm but in a mature way.

JovanaT

This is my “desert island” scent.

This is what I crave daily, without exception. I’ve been wearing it, on and off, for the last 12 years. I’ve gone through at least 6 bottles of this juice, and this is the only scent I have back up bottles of.

It’s perfect. Such a shame it’s discontinued.

ForrealMe2

You have to own this at least once in your life..I just got a brand new fresh bottle NIB for a good price and it is so amazing and pretty..i think every person who gets a chance to enjoy this one feels so blessed to have it..I didn't know if the bottle would be blue and it was..even if you get this in a mini it's worth it..whether the juice is blue or brown it will still smell amazing..one of the best scents to wear for the winter time..a great citrus zesty perfume with a nice twist of cinnamon and vanilla..like a citrus spicy wafer...and the bottle is one of the cutest bottles..very pretty to have and the box is so pretty on the inside...like the beach and the sea weed..in coral and green colors...and this lasts for hours this scent it's got great projection and longevity... very comforting..oh i hate that they discontinued this a lot ...I owned this before and I knew i had to have this again at least once in my life...so I will use this sparingly..and i'm very thankful to have it..store it properly and this will last..

Nomen

God damn! I stopped by just to point out that even though I forgot at some point which fragrance I picked this morning, I am clearly reminded now, 13h later! 😮
And I thought it was not a "serious" perfume, due to its gourmand nature... Sure, it does smell like burnt candied orange peel, but maaan! does any other nowadays smell so vividly, after full working hours time: covering both my colleague's position and mine, a flight later and a minus where I landed, suitcase dragging... and it's still here, shining in the warmed condo like it was just sprayed on.
Both yummy and HQ. They don't make such perfumes any more.

mermaidshimmer

My husband surprised me with a 1.7 fl bottle of this fragrance which has been discontinued, inexplicably. He knew I wanted it. The bottle is amazing. The juice is discolored to a brownish hue, but I love this fragrance!! It's just like I remembered from the miniature bottle I picked up many years ago.

It smells like cinnamon-orange vanilla cookies. IN LOVE WITH IT!!! Perfect for this time of year (autumn).

My daughter says I smell like a chocolate orange and says Hmmmm You Smell Good every time she's around me.

Highly recommended while there are still bottles left!! I want another bottle!

stacia79

Honestly, the scent is just ok. Very orangey with a vanilla syrup. It's not bad but I don't really get all the layers and nuance... I was hoping for more immortelle or even the cinnamon but I'm not finding it. Just sugar cookies flavored with orange zest. Why is it still on my Wants list then? THE BOTTLE. Omg that bottle is possibly the most beautiful bottle ever.

N8vDoll

While L de Lolita does smell good, it's not a scent I would want on my person. It's definitely orange, vanilla, and cinnamon all the way! Judging by the marketing/bottle, you'd think this would be atleast somewhat aquatic, but no. The citrus accord in this, with vanilla and cinnamon as it's neighbors, is sweet and warm, as opposed to bright and fresh. I don't pick up any other notes aside from those three. Imo, this fragrance does not, at all, induce visions of beaches, mermaids, or any aquatic scenery for that matter. To me, it's likened to popping sweet orange candies in the Fall or a sweet, luxurious citrus cleaner.

corkscrewcurly

@Aeris

I have to debunk your theory that L was discontinued because of its similarity to Lira "due to legal reasons"...

L was released in 2006.

Lira by Xerjoff was released in 2011 - i.e. five years AFTER L de Lolita.

If wanting to go down the "deliberate clone" route, you'd have to approach it from the other direction!

MoreScentsThanDollars

I've got several bottles of this in the large size, to me they all smell great, some clearer, some darker, I haven't smelt any that smell off. Maybe I'm lucky, I'm not sure, but don't be shy to buy it if the juice is dark, I actually like the dark juice.
A+ ❤

aprilsandoval0704

If anyone has a turned bottle they think smells tobacco-ish let me know. I will take them alllllllllll lol

Pandarapt

Smells as if Shalimar had a holiday fling that she regretted with a baker after a few sex on the beach cocktails and cinnamon buns and a walk of shame afterwards. No cigarette this time, post-coital glow or haughty glamour, just a very awkward breakfast made out of orange-zested pancakes slushed with a very cheap sort of maple syrup.
And I think it smells great lol. It stinks of excess and shame in a decrepit, semi-deserted funfair you only go to if you’re up to no good in one of those bleak coastal towns Morrisey sings about on Everyday is Like Sunday.

coldirony89

Delicious and warm! So perfect for cooler weather! It’s just the right amount of sweet, not too much of anything! Always a compliment getter!

Knothere2day

This is one of my all time favorites, it is too heavy to wear in the heat and humidity unfortunately though. So as soon as it starts to cool down I wear it and I get a ton of complements from men and women. You can really smell the orange cinnamon vanilla and musky notes in on me. It definitely is a draw you in scent. Its sweet but not too sweet, it's playful but still seductive as well, it's youthful but classy at the same time. I also have the sister scent Fleur de Corail which I love almost as much.

@davisdm61

L is available from Fragrance X at the time of writing this edit (Monday 27 August 2018).

I own and love L - and also have two of the "similar" perfumes listed above (the Laurence Dumont Tendre Madeleine and Les Senteurs Gourmandes - which is the one I have - are the same perfume).

Try Meharees from L'Erbolario. It's not discontinued and is available direct from them online; they also have a shop in Miami which sells online - it's $44 from there and you wouldn't have to worry about import taxes on entry to the US. L'Erbolario are an ethical company and don't test on animals.

If money isn't an issue, Xerjoff Lira is also a good substitute - I've tested it but don't own a bottle, as I can't justify the expense.

Hope this helps you (and any other US citizens in mourning for L).

B x

ETA: OK, so I've just sprayed Meharees on my inner left arm, LSGTM on the back of my right hand and L on my inner right arm. I only had a sample of Lira and have no idea where it is, so can't compare it.

In my opinion, LSGTM is the most conventionally "feminine" and is the sweetest. Of the two, Meharees is closest to L, although it's not quite as complex, rich or sweet and you have to give it a chance to dry down.

I honestly can't remember whether Lira is closest to L, but I'd suggest Meharees is your best alternative, particularly when factoring price into the equation!

I personally see few similarities with L and Musc Ravageur - but I have a sample of pre-reformulated MR, which I think predates 2008; it may be that the later formulation is the one to which it's being compared.

davisdm61

I love this perfume but it has become almost impossible to find a good bottle. Started wearing Tendre Madeleine by Laurence Dumont, an acceptable substitute but also difficult to obtain in the states recently. Where can I find the L Concentree pen that I read about below? Google search did not turn up anything useful. Thank you!

Swedelish

I'd like to answer my own question and add to what the reviewer before me said about L Concentree.

I sought a bottle of L recently and wasn't so happy with what I found online. I thought the concentree would be a good alternative for now. Happy to report I was right.

Concentree does look thick like maple syrup in the pen. It applies like glycerin. I was a little surprised by that because I was expecting liquid perfume before I saw it in person. But I'm very happy with this formula!

Perfume oils, solids, anything except a spray, are never my first choice, but with this, because of the means of application with a rollerball, it goes on in a thin layer and absorbs into the skin quickly and beautifully. No rubbing!

It doesn't take much, so it will last a considerable length of time. It would make sense that this is indeed more concentrated and has higher % perfume oils than the edp. The orange top notes are more pronounced in the "oil" than edp, the vanilla/cinnamon combo is always there but it takes a little longer for the orange to fade which I like. Once it's reached mid point, the vanilla/cinnamon carries it out until it has turned into a yummy, mostly baker's vanilla scent after 5 hours or so. The immortelle flower was not my favorite part about the edp. It gave this delicious fragrance a dusky overtone that made it feel stale (atleast I always associated it with that, could have been the musk but I don't really think so). With the concentree, i find that immortelle is toned town but still noticeable in the overall smell.

The concentree acts like a pure parfum in my opinion that projects more like an edp or edt. It is hard for me to guage distance because I don't know where my scent bubble ends with any perfume I wear. But I sense it's strength and get wafts of it regularly so it is not a skin scent! It's about average in projection I'd say. Lasts 5 hours on my skin before fading to baker's vanilla. I recall the edp being average as well in both projection and longevity.

L Concentree is exactly L De Lolita Lempicka edp with less duskiness. 100% satisfied with this alternative and I plan to buy more since most of the remaining bottles of the edp for sale are dark and scary looking. Mine smells fresh, hasn't turned in the least bit. Lastly, I noticed for more intensity to wait for the first layer to absorb then apply a second or third. It's like spraying two sprays instead of one when applying liquid perfume. Hope this helps someone!

Swedelish

Has anyone tried the L concentree that comes in a 10 ml glass pen? I just ordered one and havn't been able to find info anywhere online about it. Wondering if it is an actual concentrate, meaning like a pure Parfum of the original, an entirely different scent, or just the edp in a smaller (concentrated) bottle. Guess I'll find out when it gets here but it's had me confused since the first day I saw them online. I'm hoping it's a more concentrated L. Hmm

bibibling

L de Lolita Lempicka has been one of my holy grail scents for such a long time now (I have a bit of an obsession for cinnamon, and cinnamon + vanilla + orange... just... WOW! Take my money, please!)

I'm scared to buy it online because of the scary brown juice 'is it spoiled? is it still good?' roulette, so I have to keep being patient and hope to run across it in estate sales, flea markets, or old perfume shops whenever i go perfume-hunting.

Well, today was the day a 2.7oz L and I finally crossed paths. The juice is slightly yellowed, but the bottle looks new, the net, charms, glass, everything looks like it was just taken out of the box. The guy selling it barely knew anything about it and was glad to get $15 for it.

From the moment I touched it, cgervaisx2's review was fresh in my mind. I sniffed the nozzle, and phew! Stink! Like cloying tobacco. But I held the bottle away from myself and did another 3 sprays (while the owner said "hey... you can't do that!" LOL) and then sprayed on my arm and... HEAVEN!

A puffy light cloud of semi-powdery cinnamon-vanilla whipped cream, the immortelle was just perfectly blended, I was in love! I had to do everything in my power to seem unimpressed and go "I'll give you $10 for it," LOL!!!

The batchcode is 0e074 (made in 2010) but it smells just like I remember it. The main problem is that (despite the bottle) this is a winter scent and it's just too hot for it right now. It's been 9 hours and I can still smell the sweet vanilla-cinnamon-immortelle cloud wafting from my arm (a total of two sprays in the same spot.) Maybe sitting for so long has made it stronger? Or is it just because it's so hot today?

Anyway, if you're a fan of cinnamon-y fragrances like LouLou, the original Omnia, Organza, Jungle Elephant & Tigre, Lira, Dolce Vita, etc this is a lighter powdery whipped-cream vanilla semi-gourmand take on cinnamon that you will probably love. Just be super-careful who you buy it from. Demand recent photos and a picture of the batch-code. What I smelled on first sniff, the juice that had been trapped in the nozzle for 8 years, was sooo nasty, just like how cgervaisx2 described.

The only thing I regret now is that I said "I wish I had L" when I first made a comment a few weeks back. if only I'd know my wish would come true, I would have wished for all the perfumes in the world! Uh... I mean world peace and health and happiness for all.

aprilsandoval0704

Cgervaisx2- if it's foul I'll gladly take it off your hands lol I collect these <3

Neosmiaphyte

A LL that isn’t anise laden. The opening is an overly sweet orange citrus that isn’t sour or like cleaning products. It isn’t masculine, but a dusty powdery amber that reminds me of Bvlgari Indian Garnet.

socorrosouza

Yes, definitely a turned bottle, this perfume was discontinued in 2008/2009, so the bottle is old and must have been stored improperly. This perfume has nothing beachy or ocean-y in it, it is a gourmand caramel/cinnamon/orange melange that is delicious. In Brazil we have a dupe of L called Funny Cupcake Caramel that resembles L very much although with a much smaller longevity (4/5 hours) and moderate to soft sillage. People still mourns L's passing.

bibibling

@cgervaisx2 that bottle you are smelling has most likely gone bad. It should be smelling like a wonderful cinnamon pie, not a tobacco nightmare. I had a similar experience with a bottle of Miss Dior Cherie L'Eau recently (down to the cloying burned tobacco smell) and it's so sad to smell such a beautiful perfume turn horrible beyond repair :C

cgervaisx2

This perfume smells like cheap perfume in with a base of old cigar smoke. Its strong and acrid. I can even smell it coming from the bottle at times. I tried it 3 times and cannot stand it. God forbid I would ever sit next to someone wearing it. It gives me indigestion and a headache. The only thing I can say is that I love the bottle. My son hates the smell equally and several people I have exposed it to also hate it. It reminds me of a disheveled old woman with sloppily applied gaudy make up and black dyed hair with the white roots showing, wearing lots of cheap rings. I live a few miles from the beach and it smells nothing like this perfume.

kiraagold

An orange Dreamsicle and beachcombing date on Fire Island.
A drag queen in a glittering sherbet gown gets her train caught on a boardwalk nail, spilling sequins and she chooses to laugh, because it's too nice an evening for swearing, isn't it, darling?
Much later, sweet spicy comforting chocolate and cinnamon and flirty caramel musk, reggae night at the Latin bear club across from the Sandcastle--all the fabulous mustaches--and someone brought a marshmallow gun.

Miles of sillage.
We're talking on the other end of the ferry on the way to the Pines. Against the headwind. They can smell clementines and vanilla before the boat has left Bayshore.

This stuff gets under the skin, deep into the hypodermis layer, untouched by ocean, shower or chlorinated hot tub--lingering tangerine peel and nutmeg and cream soda dum-dum pops--for days.
You find a glittering spangle in the sand when you come back next weekend, and it still smells like Myrrh Maid's citrus spice smirk. She's got a regular show in Cherry Grove serving sea-witch realness. Come see me, darling.

Selena

I sampled this today.
Definitely purchasing it. It smells warm, it's inviting you to embrace it..
I love how sweet, creamy, and beautiful this smells. It's definitely a "me" perfume.. Sweet scents are my thing❤️
Very rich, very musky. The vanilla is yummy!
It's an all around perfect combination. And I'll have it in my wardrobe in less than a week!!

latafan

Just like with the Fleur the Corail version of this I never quite understood why they marketed this as a youthful ocean/summer kind of scent.

It's one of the most cozy scents I ever owned. The vanilla is clearly dominant, but there is some soft spicy depth and tender sweetness to it. It's so cozy but never boring.

I loved this back in the days as a winter scent. Even sitting down in a subway train with my thick woolen coat I'd still time and again get a whiff of that soft cookie like vanilla.

This might sound weird but as an added personal bonus this really really reminded me a lot of my late aunt Mary. She must have been using a very similar scent as perfume or body lotion, because the very first time I applied it I instantly thought of the scent that enveloped me when getting a hug from her as a child.

Nevertheless I find this scent equally suitable for all ages. Some notes are just quite timeless.

If you love vanilla and you can still get a hold of it somewhere grab yourself a bottle.

I'm not sure what's going on with Lolita Lempicka these days but they are drastically discontinuing loads of their old classics and as far as I can tell at least in Germany are currently only on the market with three scents (Sweet, So sweet, Le Premier Parfum, that only occasionally).
On their social media they are advertising some new fragrance now but as far as I can tell even french people have a hard time finding them in stores.

Hope they recover from whatever is going on right now and really hope they'll revive this one some day.

Lizzard

Ohhhh nooooo. This is my one true love fragrance and since it’s discontinued I’ve been hoarding my last half bottle. But this week I pulled it out to wear for a special occasion. The juice is brown but worse the scent has completely disappeared!!!

BlackAmberMoon

This perfume confuses me. A warm, sweet, cinnamon scent in a mermaid bottle? Huh?? I like the fragrance, but it needs a different bottle!

Sweethymn

This is definitely one of my top 5. I love gourmands & this smells like baked goods! yum! First initial spray is a little strong & alcohol but it dries down to a warm sweet yummy dream. Like a nice swim in a hot caramel milk tea latte with floating marshmallows bubbles & coconut clouds. ;)

Sabretoothkitten

Someone described this as graham crackers and thats very accurate! To me it smells a lot like Golden Grahams cereal with milk. Its very yummy but not overwhelming. Ive been wearing this and Oriental Dream in the winter. Its a gourmand but not gooey, too cloying or very strong. Its a lovely wafting type of scent

comfortablynumb83

I had a little sample of this that I dabbed on my hand and I was unsure about it. I prefer sprayers over dabs. Anyway, I had an opportunity to swap for a bottle of this and jumped at the chance. I am SO GLAD that I did. L de Lolita is beautiful! Cinnamon and vanilla are very dominant. It is THE winter scent for those cold snowy days. The longevity and sillage are awesome. I was at the pharmacy yesterday and I kept putting my nose in my coat so I could keep sniffing L de Lolita. I am sure I looked crazy, but I didn't care. Smelling it was a necessity! It kind of reminds me of a gingerbread cookie but it is much better than any cookie. This is unique and just gorgeous. This is another that I would classify as a mature scent. (if you haven't seen my previous reviews,I do not classify scents into age brackets. When I say mature, I mean not your tween average scent.)

dazydeadpetals

The warmth of the cup nestled in your hands brings you back into the present. As you bring the spicy, creamy tea to your lips, the warmth washes over you.

You gaze around the room, as if for the first time, and notice the richly colored silks draped over the heavy wooden furniture, and velvet pillows strewn about. You notice the tables covered with trays of candy oranges and salted caramel sprinkled throughout the room.

Taking out some incense, you hold a flame to the stick of resin. As it begins smoking, you place it in the corner. Positioning yourself on a heavily cushioned velvet chair in the center of the room, you inhale deeply.

The fragrances begin to dance and swirl around you, until they merge together into the most richly, divine scent.

You know you have to have it.

gabbi4god

I so love this fragrance. To me it is perfection. Such sweet deep layers. A beautiful gourmand. I love all of LL for the licorice note they blend so beautifully with the floral scent. An amazing Oriental Vanilla. I would have to say this is probably my Fall signature scent. Ahhh such true love. I love it and it loves my skin and chemistry back.

diondra

I love love love this! It's one of my top five in the autumn and winter and especially around christmas. It's soft spicy with sweet orange and vanilla. And a light touch of cinnamon, but not too much to make it real spicy. I get no lime at all. And the immortelle, tonka and musk are all too well blended for me to be able to pin them down separately. This is christmas in a bottle but it still manages to be wearable the entire winter.I also find it very similar to Xerjoff Lira.

Cauda Pavonis

Beachy gourmand. I've been looking forward to trying this for a while and it doesn't disappoint. Has a very retro vibe - take out the flowers from old school classics and you end up with L. This is a lovely vanilla-rich gourmand. The powder from what I believe is the immortelle keeps it from being too food-y though. Warm and sensual without being in your face.

allumez

There's nothing like this perfume. It is the perfect blend of cinnamon, spices and vanilla, a balanced rich perfume that is not causing nausea to you wearing it or to those in your presence. It is guaranteed to make people ask you: what are you wearing, it smells fantastic. Once the dhl guy delivering something to my office casually said: "oh, miss, one more thing: please never let go of the perfume you're wearing, it is wonderful" That never happened to me before. It was like the most sincere compliment.
A bit similar to Tom Ford Noir, but Noir has the anise vibe that ruins a bit the warm, delicious feeling.
Perrrrfect cold weather scent.
10/10 for perfection of the formula
8/10 for sillage
9/10 for longevity

chinook

This perfumes is like it's straight from my dreams! Graham cracker, butter cookies, and a hint of incense flys into my nostrils as I put this on my skin. Overtime, the incense character intensifies, and the sweetness turns into a chewy caramel kind of smell. Love it! Sillage is moderate to heavy.

aprilsandoval0704

I received this perfume as a gift back in 2010 and it was the "wrong perfume", the scent was very strong and not at all what I was looking for-so I put it under my bathroom sink and forgot about it for awhile. When I found it again, the liquid was brown and I almost threw it away except that my curiosity got the best of me and I sprayed it. OMG. I'm so glad that I did! This is a beautiful chocolate covered caramel sundae topped with vanilla sprinkles and just the slightest hint of cinnamon. I love this perfume and hoard it when I can.
I can't believe something so wonderful is discontinued-I keep trying to find something to replace it with when I (sadly) one day won't be able to buy another bottle. So far, nothing compares.

Beautiful fragrance.

Le parfum c'est chic

Another beauty from Lolita Lempicka. A nice composition around the immortelle flower done by a great perfumer Maurice Raucel. As usual the Lempicka's perfume bottles are ''féériques''. L is a pleasure for the nose and the eyes.

Jennyct13

I bought a sealed bottle of this on eBay.
The juice is brownish, but the scent doesn't seem to be effected.
On first sniff, it reminds me of a kinder, more modern cousin of Shalimar. It's a mature fragrance, but not one without a sense of play.
On my skin, I get a short citrus/cinnamon opening, and within a few minutes, a heady sweet musk washes in. The dry down is a very warm, delicious vanilla, and on me, it lasts almost 12 hours.
This is the type of scent that I have been searching for for years. It would just figure that the perfume that works perfectly with my chemistry, AND lasts forever would be a discontinued one.

CherriedEmpress

A few questions for someone who may know:

1. Almost all of the bottles on eBay have brown juice instead of aqua/clear. Does that mean it has turned? Is the brown stuff weaker? Or, is it from the vanilla aging? Lots of perfumes with strong vanilla turn a brownish color but it often it doesn't affect performance.

2. Do they make fakes of this? Anybody ever encountered or suspected a fake?

3. Is there a new formulation? I read that is has been re-formulated but I'm not 100% sure. Does it smell much different than the original L?

Thanks so much for anyone who can answer any of these!

Salakala

My worst blind buy. Had such high expectations for it and when it finally arrived... The first sniff just knocked me down and not in a good way. I looove spices, i love this amazingly designed bottle, it sounded just right so how can it smell so wrong? Still a mystery to me. Gave it a few tries and then gave up and sold it.

tanjavdw

Being a Lolita fan, the bottle amused me, and I ended up buying the bottle. Did not like the smell at all.

Donnachka

If you like sweet and cloying perfumes, then you will love this. This perfume is beautifully blended. To me, this perfume feels like syrup on my skin, and I am surly not a fan. However, I would way this about any sweet perfume. This is not a cheap smelling perfume, and it definitely has a high end smell about it. However, it is SWEET.

ballerina77

I love it. It's a magical one, I remember I bought it for the first time around 2007, and it was a blast everywhere I went. Because it was so different, it smells kinda salty, but at the same time very sweet- its vanilla is unique! When I wear it in the morning, I smell hints of vanilla through the day, but not the overpowering kind. I haven't found a perfume, so far, that has the sweetness of this one. I smell a little bit of chocolate, too. I wouldn't say it wears out: I still can smell the vanilla after I shower. As for the orange, I can smell it in the beginning, but it disappears very fast. No citrusy notes noticeable for me, at least. Some say it is a 'mermaid's perfume'...not just because the bottle has all these sea themed details, but the scent somehow reminds of it, it's a magical perfume, I say. I have a couple of bottles stocked, because unfortunately it was discontinued, and I wear it with caution LOL... The silage is heavy, and it lasts for more than 12h on my skin. You don't have to put too much to be noticed, and it kinda becomes a signature scent... To the fans of gourmand fragrances, it's a must have.

kristenboris1997

Beautiful perfume. Very sweet with a good dose of vanilla. Very lolly smelling or candy for the Americans. It makes your mouth water almost. A true gourmand that I get a hint of caramel from on my skin. Smells good enough to eat.

Cherry_Darling

Beautiful oriental gourmand! Nice twist with the citruses I love warm spicies with a refreshing note! Something about the contrast is so emotive.

Tussa

Definitely I have to try this one. This one showed almost every time in "people who like this also like", no matter which perfume I am cheking :-) But I can not find it in my country. Is it discontinued?

This is my review for the bottle that contains the brown juice.

Sweet, spicy with a hint of citrus, and long lasting....I like it! But has anyone else smelled Red Velvet Cheer from Bath and Body Works and find that the two fragrances have striking similarities?

vabin

This was my first perfume purchase- I was high school senior-from a family who never wears a perfume. I absolutely loved it!

allumez

Nothing to do with Poison Girl, but everything to do with Casamorati Lira.

lmwimsatt

these notes are right up my alley. is it anything like poison girl?

ehickman72

This perfume smelled exactly like a mix of vanilla/orange. I didn't get any cinnamon notes or any green notes, of course my nose isn't as sensitive as others, so maybe they are smelling something that I can't. I liked it, and it's a nice spring scent, but I don't love it. The bottle is GORGEOUS. I did notice, as others have, that the perfume goes off color quickly and turns amber, however it doesn't appear to affect the scent. I haven't repurchased, and I probably won't, but I don't regret buying it.

Gigi27

Warm spicy indeed! Some days I feel the faint citrus background, but this is mostly spice and vanilla, in that order. Think one of the Nicolaï vanillas, but creamier.

NOTE: I have a very old bottle (more than 8 years old), but I always keep my fragrances in the closet so they have almost no exposure to light, so it has not turned brown.

@riverheightsnancy

I think your bottle has turned. What you describe is NOTHING like the correct smell, even allowing for differences in perception. L has been out of production for years and even sealed boxes may have been poorly stored.

I bought a partially used bottle from a private seller on eBay UK just before Xmas, because the contents of my original bottle are getting dangerously low. Luckily, the one I received still smells as good as my original; the contents are not brown, though.

I can't even began to put into words How Stunningly Gorgeous this Cinnamon-Sexy-Sweet-Delectable fragrance is! In my humble opinion, this is an Insatiable Masterpiece kind of scent! Very warm, ravishing, irresistible, and cozy!...One of my ALL time favorites, & I simply can't get enough!

I loved the first, original LL and got it from Nordstrom's when it first became available and adored it. I am a huge fan of L'Occitane's Honey & Lemon which is discontinued and very hard to find and expensive (got some for Christmas and it cost over $190). So, I have been looking for a replacement perfume that is not so expensive and maybe easier to find. Based on the reviews here, many people said that L was similar to L'Occitane's Honey & Lemon, or at the least was in a similar vein, of that Honey/lemon/vanilla/caramel that I so adore.

I have to say that on first whiff of "L", it was an utter disappointment. Now, I will preface this to say that I got an unopened, in-the-box bottle, still in the cellophane wrapping. The perfume had turned that brown amber color as others have noted, but based on the many comments here, that does not seem to effect the scent (maybe it has, but I have nothing to compare it to). I don't smell the honey or vanilla notes at all. And I also adore cinammon and I get none of that either. All I can smell is the annoying smell of celery, or something green, yet the note escapes me. It also has a very strong burnt, rubber/alcohol note that goes away on the dry-down. Once it is dry, there is no sillage and the scent is gone within 30 minutes. I tried really hard to like this. I wanted to like it, but I think that I will be reselling on Ebay so someone else so they can enjoy it, because it just doesn't work for me.

This is the perfect scent for Christmas, holidays or when you want to relax at home. Cuddly, sweet, spicy, warm and cozy at the same time. Ideal everyday fall and winter scent. At first spray I smell zest orange and citruses. When it calms down I smell vanilla and aa bit of cinnamon. I can also detect the imortelle which gives a herbal vibe to the scent. The scent reminds me of christmas holidays, relaxing moments at home with friends and family in front of the fireplace and delicious christmas sweets. It has the perfect balance between sweetness and spicyness. It's not cloying sweet or heady. A great scent for lovers of gourmand and spicy warm scents. It would be also the perfect scent to spray before you go to bed as I find it very calming, warm and cuddly. It's such a pity that has been discontinued...

PinkRainbow

This is amazing stuff. Subtle spices lingering on a layer of sweet fruit. Perfect for cold winter evenings.

Sailor Pluto

I finally tested this one yesterday! Ok.. so the immortelle is very strong in this perfume. It gives it an "aged" edge. It really has a "perfumey" smell. It is a marriage between Dior's Dolce Vita and an old musty spice shop in India.

It's a cold mid-autumn evening and I decided to give L de Lolita another chance.as the first whiff of it catches my nose I'm hooked.I know this smell.it's almost identical to my beloved xerjoff lira!
What was wrong with my nose last time I tried it?!
That day,it made me dissapointed but now I'm in love head to toe,I just adore this cinnamony vanilla,Tonka with orangey undertone.hmmm...this one is definitely a winter scent
L de Lolita and xerjoff lira both start very citrusy, then they become very powdery and dry with powdery spices and powdery vanilla,L de Lolita has immortele that adds a dry, herbal twist to it,lira has liquorice. drydown is warm, soft, very delicious, smelling like a cake, spicy orangey cake frosted with vanilla and caramel, a tad dark, super sexy, super yummy
But L de Lolita reaches to the lovely soft Musky vanilla drydown much sooner, lira remains in the liquorice phase, powdery, cinnamony for more than an hour, and I really adore that dry, powdery, liquorice phase(as I adore it in pink sugar)
all in all I love both of them and they're so similar that if you don't smell carefully you can't tell differences(however lira is a little more complex, liquorice adds a twist to it's sweet, gourmand quality) longevity and sillage of both of them is great, lira a bit longer lasting
I bought a 3.4 oz bottle of lira for 195 dollars while it was highly discounted!
I also bought a 2.7 oz bottle of L de Lolita for 65$ so it's much cheaper!
I'm really unlucky that L de Lolita is discontinued so there's no chance but repurchasing lira when I finished these two,but if I find another bottle of lolita I'd buy it immediately(if the color of liquid was unchanged like the one I have). I wish lolita brings this lovely delicious scent back.it's dreamy, soothing and beyond lovely,I'm so in love with it that I even need to wear it before sleep
Highly recommended to all gourmand lovers, all lira lovers and all spicy, citrusy vanilla lovers
If you couldn't find it and really miss it and you don't care about price, you can safely blindbuy xerjoff lira instead
❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

Я с ума по этому поводу я проверить его везде, и я не могу найти его, к сожалению,

I will never understand why L was discontinued. The browness is oxidation, slowly the perfume is decaying -the deeper the tone, worse the scent till all you can smell is ferride oxide and it is not pleasant , it is a bit like the smell of blood but worse. Humidity , light and heat are responsible for this decay.

I just found a nearly full bottle at Goodwill, and this perfume is amazing. I'd never had the chance to smell a tester of it, or I'd have bought it much sooner. My perfume has turned a very slight amber color, but it doesn't seem to have affected the scent of the perfume. I see a lot of bottles on ebay that are much darker. I wonder why some perfumes turn dark?

This is vanilla, but it's pretty spicy too. I'm finding it to be rather strong for my cleavage area. Certain perfumes I use on my wrists only, and I'm thinking this might be one of them in the future. I think this is just lovely, and I am sad to think they discontinued it.

Angelicax1

Ugh, everything about this is so adorable... The bottle, the wedding cookie scent... *drools* This is my newest addition to my collection and now my new favorite bedtime scent. I could snuggle up with this one forever.. Although I'm sad because it's discontinued and hard to find for a reasonable price. If anyone has a bottle they're willing to part with, send it my way!!! ;)

Soofiya

Since Lolita lempicka L is discontinued and I had never seen it where I live,I was surprised to see a bottle of it sitting lonely on a discount shelf,I grabbed it quickly
Vanilla/tonka+cinnamon+citrus just as it's notes suggest,it has also a herbal undertone which adds to it's deliciousness,it's warm, sweet and spicy but not as gourmand as I've thought,it's notes are very similar to lira xerjoff but they don't smell similar, lira is my most favorite gourmand, lovely caramelized vanilla and sweet blood orange with a hint of spices,it's buttery and delicious but Lolita L is more spicy, less gourmandish,it's citrus is very different, sweet orange is replaced by a fizzy bergamot,it's sharper and less sweet..drydown bears more similarities with lira
To be honest,I'm somehow dissapointed.I expected it to be sweeter, more gourmand and less citrusy but citruses seem to cover all the vanilla Tonka goodness, it's so sharp. Maybe it will be better in cold temperature. It's so hot today
I'll edit my review after wearing it a couple of times

redcapricorn

Straight out of the bottle, it reminds me a little of Shalimar, but sweeter. It quickly dries to a stronger vanilla, something like a spicy orange cake with icing. I've been looking for the perfect spicy vanilla fragrance for cold weather, and this might be it. It was love at first sniff for me.

One thing I don't understand is the bottle. It's beautiful, but the mermaid theme doesn't seem to match what's on the inside. It's too bad there's not a whimsical cupcake bottle, or something evoking the winter holidays, because that is exactly what this perfume is.

My only complaint is the longevity and strength. After just a little while, I can barely smell it on myself. It fades to nothing. I wonder if only I can't smell it, and other people can? Anyway, I'm sad to know this has been discontinued, and I plan to stock up on it.

suduch

One of my favorite perfumes. I wear it mostly at night now for formal occasions and a little goes a long way. It has gotten discolored and smells a bit stronger since purchasing and it is difficult to find now but I still love it - if for the beautiful bottle alone.

LLB_addict

I have been testing and retesting fragrances tonight and this was in the group. It is EXACTLY like vanilla extract....just as cloying, too, upon first spray. It does settle down but is still a very sweet vanilla juice. My juice has turned dark which is a shame because it ruins the beauty of the bottle. I don't THINK it has affected the juice but....I do not smell too much cinnamon which seems to be a huge part of this fragrance. I am actually glad because I have been having an issue with huge cinnamon notes. Anyway...probably not going to keep this, because I have a few super sweet fragrances that I prefer over this.

Eesa

I really enjoy this scent. It is very warm spicy, and barely sweet. The cinnamon is definitely the strongest thing to me, and smells spicy powdery. I do detect a little orange coming through; it's not fresh and sweet, but slightly bitter. It is a pleasant perfume, and my favorite of all the lolita lempicka that I have. I wear it to work all the time, and consider it a great perfume for wearing out to any occasion.
