Performance of this one is nuclear - spray with care!

StinkyButInaGoodWay

Just tried a sample of this and I am very disappointed.

I have been experimenting with musk fragrances after getting musk therapy and loving it, but this is not that fragrance.
you get a hint of citrus at the top then it dries down to a salty musk that is pretty harsh and overwhelming to the nose. If I sprayed this more than once I would've inevitable given myself a headache.

This fragrance smells to much like chemical cleaner to me, so I will not be getting a full bottle.

Scotty123

A masculine citrus, green, grassy aquatic scent. Is it something that’s not ever been done before? Not at all. However is it different enough from all the other masculine aquatic fragrances out there to own a
bottle? Absolutely!

Benko01

I was really disappointed after tried this one. It smelled like a cheap old cologne that was also very feminine...
Long lasting and sillage was also okay, but not for my taste at all.

Wave Musk by Mancera:
This salty, aromatic marine frag is gorgeous and perfect for the summer/spring. It starts off like a laundry detergent scent from the orange blossom and grapefruit almost like Neroli Portofino in a way but that soon gives way to a salty oceanic vibe. It's like Invictus Legend in the sea notes but without that thick sweetness that accompanies the Invictus line. Definitely underrated and incredible performance especially for a summer frag, let alone an aquatic one. One of my favourite from the house.

Top notes: Grapefruit, green grass, no sense of the blackcurrant but orange blossom is there and maybe neroli
Middle notes: Sea, salt, driftwood, orange blossom
Base notes: White musk, seaweed but only slightly-more of a green undertone

Longevity: 4.5/5
Sillage: 4/5
Scent: 4/5
Design: 4/5

Overall: 4/5

Wave Musk by Mancera is a refreshing blend of grapefruit, grass, and black currant that evolves into a captivating marine experience with sea notes, sea salt, and orange blossom. The base notes of driftwood, white musk, and seaweed add depth, resulting in a well-balanced fragrance reminiscent of a coastal breeze—an enticing choice for those who enjoy a fresh and invigorating scent.

Hovis Lesley

How much do you need a fragrance that smells like a cheap shower gel? The answer to that question would determine your relationship with Wave Musk: it’s ‘clean’, enduring, with great projection, entirely linear, and the very model of ‘solid but unremarkable’. And sometimes, that experience is exactly what I want from a fragrance—and here it is, for a full office day. 9/10.

Devon G

One of my favorite aquatics. Takes you LITERALLY to the salty ocean waves in the crisp air. Highly underrated Mancera gem.

TBonetheFella

This scent is a pretty awesome marine scent, even better with summer being here.

This scent is everything other marines wishes they could be: long lasting and POTENT. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Mancera is doing anything groundbreaking with this scent besides adding musk to a predominantly marine scent. But I'll be damned if this juice doesn't pack a punch when it comes to sillage and longevity, even is the high heat. I wore this scent out in the 82 early summer sun for 8ish hours and it was still on my clothes and I! I always heard that Mancera's were potent, but I had no idea it was this much.

Don't get me wrong too, this is a fantastic scent for the summer. It has this predominantly blue feeling with the marine notes and salt, but as it dries down there is the bright green from the seaweed that pokes through, as well as a sexy musk that rides you all the way home. This is a great scent to get if you are at all interested in marine scents, as it is tied for my favorite with "Salty Stares" by Snif. While Salty Stares may be a more freshwater/lake marine scent, this is full blown ocean.

I wouldn't call this a super beachy scent though as it lacks that suntan lotion like quality that I smell is so many other beach scents. This is pure ocean.

Edit: I have worn this a few times now and I think that this is more of a salt water pool marine than the ocean. It just had the mix of the salty smell, musk of the tanning bodies, and smell of fresh cut grass. It smells exactly like my local, childhood pool, and I can’t wait to bring this on vacation.

aldo91

Got this bad guy today and i must say it is so powerful for a humid and hot city like the one that i live.
This one is masculine, long lasting and a very reachable one for the summer.
Would reccomend it for sure.

I got a Nov 2021 batch and I get nothing but Black Currant. No grass, no salt, no seaweed. Nothing aquatic about mine at all. Hoping letting it sit and macerate will bring out the other notes. Right out of open new bottle it smells like sweet fruity girl juice.

After a week I can detect some grass and salt. My male coworkers hate it. They say it smells fake and not natural. Meh..just an add to my collection, probably won't wear it.

Ok, I was wrong. It's been in my desk drawer since March and now it's June and I just spayed. Full salt blast and I can get the sea notes now. The Black Currant has dialed back to a background note. It's also blasting in this Au Dhabi heat. I think I may love it after all.

Ariodante_Invictus

I've been looking for a new aquatic fragrance for spring summer and was hoping Wave Musk would resonate.

[Opening]
Overall fresh and aquatic but with a little hint of sea water. The citrus and black currant hold the fragrance for about 20 minutes before the first note dries off. The citrus up top adds a bit of sweetness but it doesn't linger. The full impact of the combined notes and accords to my nose give it a cleaning product profile, which does dissipate in the dry down.

[Middle]
Base notes start to rise up as the green note begins to change from grass to seaweed supported by the now emergent sea salt. The white floral bleeding into the white musk adds a powdery accord which is not my favorite. The black current does linger a bit from the opening which is a nice surprise.

[Base]
All about salty seaweed and musk with a lasting yet recessed balsamic. I'm really impressed by the slow reveal of the seaweed which is probably what others detect as the dirty water vibe. Nothing too original but pleasing none the less.

[Performance]
Decent to moderate projection and longevity. Not one of Mancera's best but not their worst.

Another review mentioned Cool Water and I would have to agree except I think this fragrance does it better. You do get a bit of that shower gel freshness from cool water, especially at the top but the dry down is unique with it's seaweed and ocean water accord. Didn't really get a specific grapefruit up top, only citrus; same with orange blossom, just a generic white floral. On the fence if I'm going to buy this one. Have worn it a few days now and still haven't decided. Sample if you can, pretty safe blind buy if you love aquatics.

Zbounce94

I'm a sucker for aquatic smells and can freely admit that after a while, they all start smelling pretty dang similar. This is no exception. It smells like an aquatic. A good aquatic, but not anything groundbreaking.
However, this stands out because of its longevity. I can still clearly smell this after 8 hours of wear. I haven't tried to wear it longer than that, but at the 8 hour mark it was still going strong so I don't think 10+ hours would be out of the question.
I've tested it in spring weather, 40-65 degrees Fahrenheit, and I'm really looking forward to how much more it will project in the summer. Even in semi-cool weather it's performed fantastically.

S_Hufflepuff

I understand why people don't like this scent, and it smells absolutely strange in cooler weather (something akin to used bath water).

That being said, Wave Musk does provide a pretty good representation of what the real ocean smells like (even the vegetal bits). Combined with the soapy qualities, this realistic aquatic fragrance with niche sensibilities does 'open up' and become appealing when it is very warm out (32 C / 90 F plus).

Sample before buying (in the summer), but this is worthy of a sample if aquatics or the general concept of this fragrance appeal to you.

Dixieland Delight

Cartoony seawater and soapy clean musk.

After awhile, the watery florals come out.

This is a guilty pleasure fragrance for the high heat.

It's very clean and very musky.

Wife loves it, smells like a fresh shower by the ocean.

Big projector and performance is incredible.

Have to say, I love this stuff.

Not subtle and not masterfully blended and not smooth.

eaudemale

Idk what wave musk the previous user got but my version is a longevity and projection monster and my skin literally drinks fragrances. Almost as strong as Red Tobacco. Make sure that you get your stuff from a reputable source and not from another user that might dilute it.
Anyways, the fragrance: imagine fresh cut grass with salt on it over an amber and abstract fruity base (I can’t tell specifically if it’s the blackcurrant), there’s also a woody note, a very astringent orange blossom and a lot of musk giving a clean linen detergent vibe to this. I like it, I don’t love it, it feels unisex leaning feminine. That grass and salt note lasts and lasts and projects… I wanted to swap it or give it to my mom, but for some reason I like it so I’m gonna use it for a while even though my main issue is how strong and lingering this is.
I would have added a minty note, some bergamot or green tea and tone down the sweetness and orange blossom a bit but that’s just me.
It’s great for tropical weather but not when it’s excessively hot, think mid to north east coast but not Miami.

bogdanp

I'm slightly disappointed that I was expecting this to be a long lasting summer fragrance, but for me it's not: sweat makes it vanish rather quickly from my skin. On clothes, besides staining them, it reveals the base at some point and I'm not a big fan of that (but, in my case, this is true for most Manceras). The good part is that I find it a wonderful unisex fragrance for spring, with its green grass and slightly floral sweetness. I don't get the sea notes.

Catherina Stein

I like this one. I tried this perfume to choose the perfume for my mom. She is very into such smells, especially "fresh cut grass" smell. When I was a teen I also wore only such fresh bitter perfumes but now I prefer more sweet and oriental ones. And despite it is not my type I can estimate how beautiful it is. On the blotter it smells more like typical bitter fresh masculine perfume but on my skin I feel fresh cut grass and a lot of white clean musk which makes it smell more feminine. When I came into the room my mom asked me which perfume I used. She could smell it from another side of the room and she was amazed. After that she came into the shop to try it on her wrist and she was disappointed. She said that on her skin it smells like typical bitter masculine fresh perfume. So this perfume requires to be tried on the skin.

MANCERA WAVE MUSK

The EPITOME of hot-weather invigoration for me. I just bought 120ml after testing a 10ml sample from scent split. This is part of Mancera's French Riviera Collection. Though I have never been to the French Riviera, I have been to the Italian Mediterranean in Sicily several times. This cologne transports me back to the Mediterranean every-time!! I am amazed that it has the power to do that to me.

A beautiful, fresh, aromatic, clean marine scent. Not Blue. Not Citrus. Hot Spring & Summer obligatory cologne. Lasting 6 hours so far (hopefully longer after maceration). And perfect in the office too. Unisex leaning masculine.

If Creed Erolfa or Creed Millesime Imperial are your thing...give this a try, you'll probably like it a lot.

Made by Kouros

First impression from a sample I got: Wow, really synthetic and cheap smelling. Unpleasant, smells like it could give me a headache.

2nd wear, after I remembered I had the tester: Oh no, this is just bad. I wouldn't recognize as a marine or anything, it's a synthetic headache. I don't think there's a single drop of a substance evolution has equipped us to deal with. Had to scrub it off. I've liked several Manceras, but this is the worst out of the nine or so I've sampled. Pierre Montale did a much better aquatic with Aoud Forest Montale, check that one out instead.

Vaporized

Stupendous! Fabulous! Tremendous! The reason why I am effusive in my praise of Mancera Wave Musk is simply because of the blooming grass, which gives a seemly, regular aquatic fragrance, a shot in the arm. This is easily one of the freshest aquatic perfume you'll ever get to use, which offers a spot of variety from all the ordinary aquatics out there. The grapefruit and black currant accords provide the juicy fresh vibe and the grass and seaweed inculcate the green element to mesh with the salty, musky and aquatics notes. I happened to sample Wave Musk at the same time I sampled Nishane Ege on blotters and at the time forgot which one was which. Infatuated with the Wave Musk blotter, I mistakenly thought that this can only be a Nishane release as it smelled like a high- end homogenous mixture. Imagine me surprise when I retested Wave Musk! Not that Nishane Ege was any less impressive BTW.
So, as it goes....
All seasonal scent? A sure shot for the summer and spring time.
Unisex? Yes, but I would say it does lean masculine.
Blind buy worthy? As far as green aquatic scents go, definitely.
Performance? Longevity better than 8-9 hours, projection is ample in the first two hours and sillage moderate.
Price? Fairly priced I would say

Jacquis

I agree with Olga below, Wave Musk is a salty floral musk which can be worn by females as well. It is gorgeous and refreshing. I'd reserve it for the summer because I don't wear marine in cooler temps. It lasts all day on me and is especially good for daytime. There is some green element which keeps it fresh and invigorating.

Scotty123

Green, aquatic, citrus, salty, light florals, and woody musky dry down all in that order. Absolutely amazing masculine summer fragrance. It’s so smooth and natural smelling also. My only regret isn’t I didn’t purchase it sooner.

wdpnrds

Clean orange blossom scent. Not an aquatic. Not salty either. And definitely no grass.

olga.stratienko

I love this saltiness, i love the musk, i love the ocean and the blossom and I think it is unisex.
I would wear this in hot weather, because only then you smell musk, blossom and salt note strongly.
On my skin it becomes feminine (lucky me)

Mr.dondunna7

The sea salt gives off a natural smelling aquatic sea salt vibe. Try picturing being around some water that splashes you and you get a whiff of it. That's what I get with that saltiness and aquatic sea notes.

You then get the bitterness of the seaweed once the drydown begins and then it makes itself known and then the white musk creeps in. Overall this is a beautiful fragrance that people need to check out. Like all Mancera fragrances this performs as well. You're definitely gonna get beast mode performance from this!!

Mina Abdo

I love it, very marine and salty. The seaweed and black currant are giving masculine backbone to the scent. It might be challenging to others as it was to me in the beginning.
Great for hot summer like here in Qatar.

LavenderMilk

You know these "sea" home fragrances designed for bathrooms? This is it, but designed by a perfumer. It's actually quite nice, I don't hate it, but for me it's too reminiscent of those toilet sprays. But it's pleasant enough for me to actually want men to use it instead of the extreme barbershop smells lots of generic perfumes lean towards. If my nephew, for example, wanted something fresh, summery and marine, I'd recommend this.

If you wanted to buy Mugler's Womanity, I'd recommend buying this perfume and some better fig like Diptique Phylosikos or at least Ferrari Noble Fig (Womanity is a great disappointment to me, not just as a marine smell, but also in general). Womanity is synthetic sea + fig, and this is a very similar synthetic sea, but a successful attempt at that.

As a marine someting, I like Montale Fougeres Marines more. Side by side they feel like they are expressions of the same intent by different authors.

UPD: omg, it lasts more than 24 hours. Want to smell like a pool by the seaside forever? Try this fragrance.

Cagatay

it has a citrus opening with a hint of freshly cut grass and some marine notes. but it fades quickly. it remains on my skin a musky, ambergiris type of scent. longevity is not so good as other mancera products and has a close porjection with a weak sillage. it is an "ok" frag for summer.

SimplDude

I just got my 30 ml bottle of this and after first sniff, I thought it smells alright and you can tell it's high quality but nothing unique or groundbreaking. It's a typical summer fragrance with the usual aquatic vibe and it seem to have decent performance and longevity. The scent was very familiar but I couldn't remember what fragrance was that but very very similar to this one. Then it just came to me, this reminds me of Amouage Beach Hut Man. If you have ABHM, then I don't think you need this one. Save your money for a more unique smelling fragrance.

I'll give this a 7/10

“Let us spread the scents of peace and kindness. The two most beautiful fragrance in the world that will cost you nothing and will get you a totally different kind of compliments” 🙏

Deepak Vashistha

This is a very different perfume. I smell a lot of grass in opening. Also salty with citrus. Can act as a good long lasting summer option for you. I won't be getting a bottle of this tbh, this is a smell which is not pleasant for me to really put it on me. This one is strong like all Manceras are. Well this smells kinda unique and will be memorable if you choose to wear it. Hard Pass.

TonkaBeanTruck

Slightly creamy, light white floras; Clean musk; Orange Blossom; Slightly salty.
It bare resemblance to, Mancera, Soleil d'Italie and Cedrat Boise, without the woods.

It does have a toilet freshener vibe but, I can look past that... just.

High heat fragrance and slightly leans feminine.

Amazing longevity and projection!

curt42

Fragrant, faintly musky soap. I've given it two opportunities. No black currant, no salt. The closest this gets to a wave is if you are sharing a bathtub. Don't get me wrong, it is very clean and pleasant, but clearly feminine. Orange blossom makes an appearance after half an hour. Powdery, soapy, lasts for hours on skin. If that is your thing.

interizta

It is a great fragrance, it is not a groundbreaking smell but still have its own uniqueness, performance is great i can smell it on myself after 8 hours.
I have difficulty with many marine/aquatic smell but this one not putting me off even in slightless.
Great job mancera

Atlantiswasreal

From a lot of the reviews, I was expecting something better. This is a very typical designery bergamot style fragrance that is a dime a dozen. I wish I detected the grapefruit and grass, but all I get is bergamot and salty, marine notes. Bergamot isn't even listed as a note on here. Just look at all the fragrances this is compared to, they're all mainly bergamot bombs.

Smells almost identical to my wife's Bath and Body Works Mediterranean Bergamot Neroli Cedarwood lotion, but not as good. She stopped using that lotion because it's way too masculine and Wave Musk is no different. This leans heavily on the masculine side. Women, if you're interested in this one, sample first if possible.

This is one of those Mancera offerings that appeals to people that enjoy designer frags. Soleil D'Italie, Wind Wood, and a few others come to mind. I think if you are into those style of frags, you'll love this, and you'll be very happy with your purchase.

However, if you want a better fragrance at a similar price point, I'd go with Gallagher Bergamust.

erictherainbow

One of an underrated gem,
Who's living in hot countries like me will appreciate this perfume. (lowest temp as 75F to highest 92F, yeah, hot and humid like hell)
In my country, it can be found for 60 - 65$ for 120ml bottle.
Fresh, green, salty and sweet, me and my woman shared the same bottle (unisex).
Performance is very good for longevity, medium for projection. (easily 8hrs+ on skin, but radiating only about an arm's length)
Definitely has some sexiness, and I did not feeling old or outdated.

Gotta grab my woman another bottle, because this bottle is MINE!!!

cesarsamano

The opening is salty and sweet
The drydown is more sweet than salty but the saltiness is in the whole life of the fragance
A really nice and long lasting fragance 👌🏼 perfect for the summer and high heat days for spring
Get it if you like the marine/acuatic fragrances
For me is a 8.5/10

a7_mad1991

fresh, and the black currant is very obvious
longevity is really good
reminded me a lot of Beach Hut by Amouage

Alyjah1234

I hate when niche brands label fragrances under 'unisex' to insinuate a broader spectrum of versatility when they SCREAM a certain gender, this is by no means whatsover a female scent in the least...... Just name this a cologne........

Eyedean

Awesome airy scent. On my skin the drydown is like a mix of light blue intense (pour homme) and Dior homme sport 2017 (no iris). So so good for the summer or spring.... and office of course.

Bee-young-ka

OK p-erfume lovers! brace yourself for full on .A A or Aussie Appreciation!

stone the crows! you could knock me down with a feather!
if i was any happier with my purchase well, I'd be twins mate!
I wanted fresh and this is *#%#$!!ing Fresh!

Grapefruit and cut grass force there way up your nose and breathing out lets you smell seaweed. Something gives it a "clean sweet edge". clean sweet. clean with a hint of sweet. (everybody got that? not cloying...CLEAN!)
is the sweet scent is musk? I can't pretend to know much about musk. Its not the jovan or body shop. not even the same universe.

It's so hot here. living on the surface of the sun hot.
how clean , fre-ash, & sexy is this for Everybody! genderless awsomeness!

Walt sing matilda!, my perfume kills ya!
But in a good way! and we all get along.

LadyIva

Let me out myself first: I'm not a fan of Mancera & Montale products (too synthetic and obnoxious), and I could never understand their business logic. They seem to churn out new fragrances every fortnight, in similar bottles, with similar names, thus making it very difficult to keep track of their releases (provided, of course, that one wishes to keep track)!
Then again, once in a while, Pierre Montale seems to come up with an (almost) tolerable scent. Make no mistakes, Wave Musk is still a very strong and tenacious fragrance, not for the faint-hearted; but at least, it's pleasant and not so headache-inducing as its Mancera-Montale brethren! The opening is cologne-like, with very prominent grapefruit, lemon and orange blossom, as well as freshly cut grass. After a while, the salty-marine notes emerge, and I swear to god I can smell some lavender, although it's not listed. Wave Musk reminds me of MFK's fabulous Petit Matin; so, if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to Petit Matin, and you're not bothered by excessive synthetics, then Wave Musk is your new go-to fragrance for warmer weather.

Btw Fragrantica has just informed me (via this unsightly new layout) that this is my review No 548! Wow - I had no idea I was such a prolific reviewer! Well, there's an old saying: An idle priest baptises sheep. :)

nooneknowme99

Perfect 10/10. smell sophisticated, elegant, refined, clean floral, green, musky, masculine. unique. even this is more unique than CEDRAT AND PEARL. FOR ONES THAT SMELL SICILY LEANS FEMINIME, JUST PICK THIS. DOESN'T SMELL LIKE CREED MI, GIT OR COOLWATER. THIS IS MORE UNIQUE. FLOWERY GREEN AQUATIC CLEAN AND GEORGEOUS. AMAZING PERFORMANCE. YOU WILL SMELL ON WHOLE DIFFERENT LEVEL WITH OTHERS, SMELL LIKE SOME WEALTHY ROYAL WOULD SMELL LIKE. EASILY DEFEAT CREED ROYAL MAYFAIR. GIT OLD SCHOOL DOESN'T SMELL ROYAL LIKE THIS WAVE MUSK. VERY VERSATILE. WAVE MUSK WAAYYY DESERVE MORE LOVE. MUST TRY!!!!

Despair

Seconding what others have said about the fresh cut grass smell: to me, that's exactly the opening of this, along with some grapefruit. It then starts to develop into a less green and more marine blend of salty sea notes and white musk.

The performance is insane: I had a hair tie on my wrist while wearing this, and multiple days later the hair tie still smells strongly of Wave Musk. The projection and sillage are also quite extreme, but I don't mind it with a fresh scent like this. The only reason I won't be purchasing a full bottle is that at least on my skin, this turns very, very masculine after the first hour or two (and I'm a woman).

ILikePeeps

Starts off kind of like Nio or Velvet Bergamot, but I get a prominent lemon.. like the type of lemon wedge you'd get with your plastic not-quite-cleaned cup at a late night diner filled with tap water. And it seems like some kind of mint or something as well. Then there's also Invictus Aqua and Hawas type smell; 'aquatic' or 'watery'.
What's interesting is this came out years or so before that style even came into fashion.
Overall, it's alright?

theoscheepers5388

Have only had this for a couple of minutes (was a complete blind buy) after having had a look at a few reviews. I absolutely love Mancera as a house, but what I was lacking was a nice green freshie for those really hot Summer days.

I totally agree with others that have said they get a fresh cut grass smell from this. From the initial spray, that's exactly what I get. Once that opening starts dying down the aquatic vibe starts to creep in. Reminds me a lot of Nautica Voyage, but not quite as "cucumber-y". The freshness reminds me of a bit of GIT / Tres Nuit as well, but I find the latter to be a little more soap-y.

Will update as I get to know this fragrance better...but for the moment I really am super surprised that this does not have a higher rating.

UPDATE 1 : I'm very, VERY impressed with Wave Musk, and it has very quickly become my go-to warm weather fragrance. Granted, I may still be somewhat in the honeymoon phase, but I love the freshness of this fragrance. It also lasts for ages and I get wafts of it throughout the entire day.

Getting back to my previous mention of GIT/ Tres Nuit, I figured that Wave Musk bares some similarities to one of the ultimate classics too, Cool Water. And indeed, that classic freshness does overlap between them. I'd say that if you like CW, then I would consider WM as a direct upgrade which gives you a very similar vibe to CW, but with much better projection and longevity.
The opening is quite different, with CW presenting that tobacco note in the forefront. It's as though CW smells a bit "heavier", whereas WM seems more airy, green, and natural.
The other interesting thing I noticed is that when I smelled WM on its own, I couldn't detect any of the blackcurrant. But, when I had a sniff between CW and WM, that's when the blackcurrant stood out more to me.
It's once we start transitioning into the drydown that WM and CW start to show some stronger similarities. For me, I'd say the more prominent difference between CW and WM in terms of the scent itself is that, once you get into the drydown, CW has that lavender which takes the centre stage, whereas WM tends to keep that green freshness and slightly fruity blackcurrant in the background. I guess this might be (at least in part) what gives CW its more "soap-y" scent, but both still have a very distinct freshness to them. The difference I find is that WM just seems to have a very natural green freshness to it, which I absolutely LOVE. To some extent this green and watery aspect of it almost reminds me of Montblanc's Starwalker, but SW is considerably lighter.

UPDATE 2 : Man oh man, this seriously deserves SO much more attention. As my nose gets more used to this scent, I'm starting to get some flashbacks to Ferrari's Bright Neroli too, except that Wave Musk is more green than flowery, making WM more masculine than the very unisex (almost feminine) vibe I got from Bright Neroli.

I can't get enough of this fragrance, and I'm pretty confident in saying that this has become and will remain as a staple in my collection for Summer and Spring.

REVIEW - MANCERA WAVE MUSK

What does it smell like? A super high quality Neroli Aquatic with gorgeous blending and amazing performance. Mancera's finest!

TOP NOTES

Wave Musk starts off with a very smooth blend of Neroli,Sea Salt and Musk. The musk encapsulates this fragrance from top to toe, giving this perfume a super smooth texture right from the get go. Although there's nothing animalic about this scent by any means.

The Neroli here is absolutely brilliant. It's your classic Italian 'Colonia' Neroli that's softened up by the Musk blanketing it while still maintaining it's creaminess. There's some mild saltiness to the top as well.

MIDDLE NOTES

The Green part of this scent is evident in the middle. With some bitter Sea Weed and some fresh cut grass.Althogh the middle doesn't influence the character of the scent all that much and passes by rather swiftly.

DRYDOWN

Slowly, after this super smooth Italian opening and a green heart,Black Currant and Grapefruit can be felt. This smooth blending from Neroli to the Jazzy Black Currant and zesty Grapefruit is absolutely masterful. That's why I call and regard this one as Mancera's finest blend.

The saltiness is gone, the scent transitions more and more with Driftwood providing it some beautiful calming coolness.

From the top towards the drydown, the scent gets more and more simpler. Towards the top it has a few notes blended well while towards the end each note shines individually.

The drydown gets more and more breezier, calmer and cooler. The sun that dawned on the Sardinian Beach has now settled, winds are blowing and you can see the waves creeping over the wet Driftwood logs now.

All in all a masterful, smooth and extremely high quality summer blend that has some Italian tinges to it.

PERFORMANCE - Performance on this leaves nothing to be desired. I applied it on my shirt the first time and can still smell it after two days. 6-8 Hours on Skin.

The siliage on this is low but it projects quite strongly for a freshie and leaves an absolutely amazing trail. Just needs some wind or movement to keep it pushing. That would make it a great office scent in my opinion.

FEELINGS - This one represents a perfect day at an Italian beach for me. Begins very bright and ends very calmly,it captures your imagination from the very first spray. Being such an elegant freshie, performing this brilliantly I think it deserves to be a staple scent amongst freshies and deserves a lot more attention than it gets.

USAGE - Totally Unisex. Slightly leaning towards the masculine side but that's just my bias of smelling creamy Italian Neroli only on men. Although this has a classy feel and you'll have to be atleast around 25 to properly own it's wearing.

Wave Musk is a straight-forward, pleasant smelling, fragrance that doesn't change much from top-to-bottom IMO. I detect white musk, aquatic notes, with white floral in the background. I do not sense salt, driftwood, grass, seaweed or anything but the aforementioned. Although not a favorite from Mancera (I love this perfume house) it has a soft, friendly, casual quality that leans feminine and well suited for Spring/Summer daytime casual wear.

Performance is very good for a freshie in that it lasts 8+ hours and projects moderately on my skin, yet leaves a noticeable scent trail. My daughters thought is was nice, and said they wouldn't mind wearing it, but they were not head over heels with Wave Musk. It's worth trying if you're into these aquatic, musk, floral scents. But your mileage may vary.

White flowers, sea saltiness, musk are main notes.. a lovely freshie with moderate Perfomance. Sillage is mild . longevity is 5-6hrs.. But gorgeous.. A must try !!

In my oppinion it's not unisex, it's a long lasting, fresh fragrance for men. I used a sample and I don't like how it smels on my skin.

Mancera Wave Musk is easy to like, a marine scent that has a reasonable balance of citrus, aquatic, and musky influences, some standout notes being sea salt, driftwood, grapefruit, and musk.

It comes off quite synthetic, more so than many other offerings in the Mancera/Montale realm, and that's its main detractor, as, like the rest of their catalog, its performance is decent, particularly for a warm-weather-leaning composition (the houses seem to be known for their darker, more cold-weather-leaning fragrances, in my opinion).

It's decent juice but it's a little difficult for me to avoid noticing the slight funk of synthetic aquatic notes, not just that there are aquatic notes. I liken this to a significantly less refined and cheaper alternative to Tom Ford Costa Azzurra, which seems to nail the concept well in its use of driftwood.

As semi-transparent aquatics go, I'd do much better with Nautica Oceans or a CK One Summer, particularly for the price, though I'd be remiss not to point out just how cheap Wave Musk is on the secondary market, only $89 (for a standard 120ml bottle) on FragranceX and a shocking $60 on Perfumania as an online-only option, a website that accompanies a chain of discount perfume stores that actually mostly fall short of having good deals.

Still, I'd recommend seeking this out if it sounds good, as the value is strong, particularly at $120 for 60ml, if you dig the fragrance. I'd personally fare better with either comparable cheapie options or, on the high end, Tom Ford Costa Azzurra.

My initial impression was that this fragrance smelled like a common designer after spraying it. However, I quickly realized how spcecial it really is. Slightly similar to Neroli Portofino Acqua in that is it citrusy with some white florals. But man, oh man is the performance ever good on this! lasts all day long and projects well for many hours.

salt, seaweed, tall countryside grass, fig leaves, musk and sea notes...basically thats the fragrance...opening got some citrus and hint of blackcurrant, but goes away fast.its a damp feel from this fragrance, not very playful, smells for mature people.i like it but dont love it.if you loved nautica voyage and bvlgari aqva pour homme...its kinda in between the two, performance is ok but doesnt project so much.i cant see myself wearing this for summers...perhaps spring time by the beach when not many people around...there is something depressing about this...very niche like...and original.if you like salt and seaweed on your pretzels you make like this...musk also is a major player
overall in my book 10/10 creativity
small and occasions to wear: 6.5/10
a try....definitely not a blind buy :)

People who like Nio and also AUF should definitely test this one. A lovely one for the summers!

Feanor35

I honestly don't see how people see this as green, on my skin it basically turns into ambergris and musk bomb after 2 minutes

I really like this. Not as much as the other fragrances I have on my 'love' list, but it's closer to that than just a 'like'.

This is very fresh, intensely so, but without the typical 'barbershop' quality a lot of 'fresh' fragrances have. I think it's because the opening is actually less citrus and more fresh cut grass and blackberry - with some grapefruit ? Either way the opening is gorgeous. I've rarely had this 'OMFG YES' reaction right off the bat with a fragrance. It's intoxicating to me - it smells like summer, playing on the beach, innocence, fun, surfing, children running around among billowing white laundry in a summer garden...Simultaneously very fresh and invigorating but also comforting.

The opening lasts unusually long for a citrus fragrance, I'd say almost half an hour. Beyond that it's still nice but it rapidly loses this OMFG quality. It becomes a fairly soft, quiet, close-to-the-skin musky citrus scent that has a distinct marine and salty quality to it. Still good but not stunning anymore. People here are raving about its longevity and projection but I really don't notice that.

I don't have the most sensitive nose in the world, admittedly, but I have other silage and longevity monsters and definitely notice those (JPG Fleur du Mal, Montale White Aoud / Tiare Intense, Mugler Alien). It's above average for a 'fresh' or citrus-based scent, but it's not amazingly potent beyond the first half hour. Still, it's closer to a 'love' than a 'like' for me - and would easily have been a complete 'love' if the performance didn't so rapidly decline.

Nice green, fresh fragrance with floral notes..You might like this as a man if you also happen to enjoy MFK AUF

esteban747

Wave musk is surprisingly green.
I have to say that I don't see it as a marine composition.
On me smells like a crisp neroli with musk in the background. It's actually quite nice. Clean, fresh. Especially during this hot days.
Slowly the green notes start to go away and I'm left with a light musk and wood drydown.
I like it, but is it worth the price? I'm not sure.

mendwillie

It's interesting, but not surprising, aquatic and citric, has the strength to endure the whole summer day and with great performance.

I value this:
Smell: 6.5/10
Projection: 8.5/10
Longevity: 8.5/10

Marine, salty citrus. Like a margarita cocktail with grapefruit, lime and salt round the glass. Hint of floral and of course musk. A salty, grapefruit cousin to Cedrat Boise. Thankfully, I don't get anything synthetic at all, just a rich aromatic, fruity, marine musk that reminds me of the sea. Great projection and longevity which gives it time to develop beautifuly on my skin. Maybe I'm being influenced by the official description but after 3hrs or so the citrus gives way to a certain salty woodyness, which could be described as seaweed. All the time the musk remains constant in the background. Very happy with it.

Calabash

This smells like sophistication personified. It's an interesting mix of notes that delivers marvellous results. The sillage is huge and the longevity is very impressive. It is truly unisex and it would be perfect for a hot day. When I close my eyes and smell this, I imagine being in a beautiful garden overlooking the sea. The "Main Notes According to Your Votes" chart is very accurate on this fragrance IMO. Although I'm not a fan of aquatics, Wave Musk has blown me away. This quote rings true to me after trying it: "Don't knock it till you try it."

Let me first say that the dry down is UNBELIEVEABLE; Friends, don't judge the fragrance too quickly!

......[8/24/2016] sounds amazing!! So many reviews and they are all over the place; some are disturbed by the scent, some take an appreciative approach to this scent. Some rest in the middle, I am not sure what to think.....

......[9/27/2016] Received; the verdict is still out as I want to give this fragrance time to wear on me or I wear it!

......[10/5/2016] This fragrance in the beginning smells very similar to Lemon from The Art of Shaving; there is a very lemony blast in the opening spray and after a few minutes all the other notes begin to play a role. A very linear fragrance, good, yet different than others I have purchased from this brand.

Wave Musk is aquatic, citrusy, musky, and light. I to get the generic feel, yet there is a sense of uniqueness to it as well. Aspen (1989) meets Lemon (The Art of Shaving). As someone mentioned, Wave Musk has a generic feel from the Aspen similarity through the combination of Lemon, Bergamot, Vetiver, and Amber;

Lemon from The Art of Shaving has those same ingredients yet, a few more that gives this an edge and a more modern feel; Petitgrain, Cyclamen, Mandarin Leaf just to name a few.

Wave Musk has some Grapefruit and Orange Blossom-fruitiness, Sea notes-aquatic vibe, and also some White Musk, Blackcurrant, and Driftwood to give this a floral yet musk feel which allows this to remain modern. If you are looking for musk, you will be surely disappointed; the title is very accurate in the aquatic, beachy idea....(Wave) coupled with the (Musk) muskiness-sharp, stringent idea!

You've heard the phraseology, "been there, done that....," well, those statements ring true here; It has been done before (as with others), but there are variations and differences that one can determine with Wave Musk.

This is the kind of fragrance that you have to give time to adjust to and allow it to grow on you.........at first I wasn't sure if I liked it or would even tolerate it. However, I decided to give it some time and time is good because that was what I needed in order to give this a proper reading!
Wave Musk grows on you; its like you like it, but then you hate it. And then, you're like wait...I think I like it and you go back and smell more of it, this is the growing aspect.

I do like it, again will give it some time to develop a more concrete response....

Overall 7.5/10-Great fragrance, nothing over the top, nothing that necessarily stands out neither ground breaking. A great fragrance to have in one's possession.

...this also reminds me (in the dry down) of Creed's MI!!

Performance 7.5/10
Projection 6.5/10
Longevity 8/10
Sillage 7/10

Ditta70

Horrid generic aquatic nuclear weapon. Smells like a 2$ spray. Revolting.

matthew369

goodness me. it doesnt have offensive nuclear projection but i scrubbed my arm with soap and its still strong on my arm! havent encountered such powerful longevity with moderate sillage before...

this is quite nice. all musk lovers must try this because whilst its not a pure musk (it has other notes in it) it is very true to musk which is the overwhelming note.

Gonkles

Very very strong scent had it on now for over 12 hours and its still smelling good!

unique smell also and amazing projection and longevity!

olga_adriana

i actually really like this. its truly unisex, long lasting, really unique smell nothing too salty or seaweed about it in my opinion, but it does have that "marine" smell that i just can't really put my fingers on. i can smell the citrusy notes in this for sure, as well as the musk.

Liarmother

I bought a sample for my boyfriend to try and while taking the cap off I spilled a tiny drop on the tip of my finger. That was enough - the scent is incredibly strong, even with that tiny amount.
It's definitely not a scent for women, unless you like strong manly scents. The opening notes of sea and orange blossom (smells really bitter here) hit me in the nose like a sledge hammer and I'm still talking about that small amount on my finger. I've been "wearing" it for about 3 hours and the initial smell does not go away, change or lose its intensity.
Also, when I tried to wash it off with water and soap, it came back after the soap smell vanished! Only now it smells exactly like a hand after holding pennies for a while - metalic and unpleasant. Not as strong though, so I'm gonna give it another wash and hope it will be gone.
Side note: the boyfriend also did not like it, he said it was so strong it felt like burning his nostrils.
We mostly felt marine and bitter notes.

Lana148

This is my least favorite out of Mancera's I've tried.

Strong, marine-salty fragrance with a mix of orange blossom, citrus and green notes. Smells very synthetic, shampoo-laundry detergent like. If you are after marine fragrances try Sel Marin James Heeley, Batucada L`Artisan or Terralba Masque . Even Acqua di Sale Profumum Roma is better then this and I strongly disliked it.

alberto1964

Perhaps the only Mancera scent with little character. Maybe because I do not love the fugere and aromatic scents, perhaps because these marine shades have a saturated marked, maybe it get to be fairly generic. Jump to other Mancera, thanks.
