Marni Rose by Marni is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Marni Rose was launched in 2013. Top notes are Black Currant, Cardamom, Mint, Raspberry and Bitter Almond; middle notes are Rose, Bulgarian Rose and Violet; base notes are Patchouli, White Musk, Cedar and Vanilla.

Marni Rose is the second fragrance of Italian fashion house Marni, launched in the fall 2013. Marni Rose is announced as more intensive than the original Marni fragrance, focusing on spicy and dark aspects of Bulgarian rose and woods.

The composition begins with unusual combination of aromas of cardamom, nana mint, raspberry, black currant and bitter almond. Its heart of rose absolute, Bulgarian rose and violet is based on patchouli, white musk, vanilla and cedar.

The fragrance is available as 30, 65 and 120 ml Eau de Parfum.

A very fleshy rose. Slightly ammoniac, raspberry & crushed green petally something. I get mint peeking out every now & again in the dry down. The ammoniac note gets... umm... sweaty is the best way I can put it.

On paper, Marni Rose is much like the original Marni–a dry, woody, spicy scent–but with added rose. On the skin, it’s more dynamic: the rose is livelier, the raspberry brings color, the mint and bitter almond infuse the opening and early drydown with crispness, and the base remains full-bodied with notable cedar and musk. In the long drydown, the vanilla and violet add subtle femininity. Not the most original fragrance, but enjoyable for rose lovers.

The Bulgarian rose note is *very* reminiscent of Dita Von Teese’s signature scent (tragically discontinued) and the overall composition brings back pleasant memories of that gorgeous, long-lost scent. Marni Rose is less complex than Dita, but the resemblance, however incomplete, is delightful.

Feminine-leaning, but not girly. Nice longevity with little evolution during the drydown. Projection is low to moderate.

If you are a rose lover, don't blind buy this thinking of a sweet, jammy rose. This is DRY. And SPICY. I get a drydown with a feeling like I've just rummaged through Grandma's musty handbag, containing rose potpourri and a broken talcum powder compact. Even so, I find this to be a bold, yet pleasant scent that I have come to love. I think a man could get away with wearing this as well.

This is what they call a “safe scent.” If you only like floral fresh scents, then this is a great Oriental Floral for you. I had NO idea it would be categorized as such, but I like it. What makes this oriental? 🤔🤔🤔 Can someone please provide me some information on that? I have no clue as to how. This smells mostly of roses and maybe a little bit of tea. I don’t get the mint or cardamom. If it had a prominent mint, I would most likely buy a bottle of this. Note to self: Not worth buying because it lacks character. It pretty much stays the same throughout, no morphing in this one.

First impression of this is lovely. Rose, mint, black currant, cardamom... it's herbal and so fresh. I love herbs like mint, basil and coriander. I have a little sample and think maybe I must buy big bottle of this. We'll see...
Haven't smell other Marni's.
Not sure why it has listed as oriental floral. What is oriental in this?
The bottle is very nice.

Well,well...I was not expecting to like this scent since I bid on the wrong Marni scent on eBay...I thought I was bidding on Marni Spice. But...I received this today and it is love at first sniff !! I got tired of "rose" scents within the last couple years...so..I was not looking at rose based scents anymore. That typical "rose" vibe found in alot of rose scents is changed in this one. I think the raspberry and currant note..along with the almond..cuts away that old lady rose vibe..which is GREAT. When I opened the box..my first whiff...I sensed something like Cartier Guette de Roses...and thought...hmmm...."typical light rose". But when sprayed..I got a somewhat "sparking effect". Also, hiding underneath the base..is a YSL Paris feeling...but it is not totally there, so I would not say it smells like Paris. It goes on a tad sharp..but smooths out quickly....like a L'Eau or legere type scent. The projection is "airy" and the sweetness wafts in and out. I am not expecting too much sillage...but it seem to project well. Overall a very nice fragrance...and different..IMO.
I will be looking to buy Marni Spice as well.

edit: I am finding the is is projecting VERY well ....!!!

Where have all the roses gone?

Is a light flowers perfume, cold more than fresh.
If there is a category called "white flowers" than can be a category called "rose flowers", "rose" as the color, not as the flower.
It smell more red berries and currant than rose.
Nice. But nothing special. Office fragrance.
Inoffensive deodorant style.

The initial blast is dirty rose with oud type muskiness. I get the medicinal vibe some on here complain about but it doesn't bother me, it kind of gives it a modern edge. Its a full bodied rose that is somewhat spicy. Overall it has an expensive well crafted air about it. A little mature and a little dressed up, but I feel it will attract attention and draw compliments if worn but the longevity is on the weak side you'll have to spray a bit heavy. It's not overly masculine, but the mint, patchouli and almond combo can go either way for me. I layered this with Tom Ford Oud Wood and it smells really good. If you're on the fence about blind buying this I'd say go for it, there's a ton of inventory at great prices for this baby on the secondary market, way way below the original retail. On a side note I found a 1oz spray at Marshall's for $10 on clearance. Must be discontinued...anyway you cant go wrong.

Marni Rose. Yes, rose from the first spray to the very last drydown, but I am glad I didn't let the reviews here stop me from trying it.

A full mature red rose, for sure. Pepper (spicy?) and patchouli coming in and out, sometimes behind and sometimes in front of the rose. Hints of the original Marni at first spray and at drydown--with the rose always there.

I like it a lot, there are a few moments in the middle that are so very rose-y I had second thoughts, but with the peek of violet, I came back.

Bought at an extremely good deal as a rare find from Marshalls, if only the original were to pop up now :)

Soapy, close to skin, office type of fragrance. May be in the summer it would work better.

La rosa più fuggevole che abbia mai provato...
E' talmente lieve che scompare in pochi minuti.
Reali tre minuti dallo spruzzo.
Peccato perchè la rosellina è carina... ma veramente debolissima.
Sorry

I bought this one blind bc I enjoyed the original Marni, though I found it a bit anemic. This new incarnation is, to my nose, a horrible offense of cheap, screeching patchouli and rose flavored surgical antiseptic. Wanted to love it, as I'm a fan of Montale Black and Portrait of a Lady (I must admit that I'm more of a theoretical fan of latter). This Marni doesn't smell hippie to me, there's no love or warmth there. Pure bug spray. If you want a peppery rose try Kelley Caleche. I actually find this Marni the most repellant fragrance I've ever tried. If anyone wants my once squirted bottle please let me know.

This is LOVE for me! Red jammy rose mysteriously made light with mint while retaining the dark rose elements...a contrast of light and dark, jammy and dry, tart and sweet. A perfect peppery patchouli rose, not too heavy but with a definite presence. This is what I sort of was expecting from Heeley's Hippie Rose. This is actually slightly more "hippie" to me. It has a modern, casual, earthy nature while remaining sophisticated. Wearable year round, day or night and for just about any occasion. Reminds me slightly of a peppery version of Stella. Very long lasting also, mild later but lingers for hours. Full bottle is on its way!

Edit: I received my FB and I must say I am very disappointed in the quality of the bottle/nozzle/cap. Good grief. For $100 plus, the cap is an embarrassment to the company. It is ultra cheap plastic, lightweight and tiny, like something from the drug store. It is so cheap and yucky that I don't even want to keep it. The cap is so hard to pull off that it went flying across the room. I am used to much better quality than this and the terribly cheap presentation ruins it for me.

As a huge fan of the original Marni, I was very disappointed with this. At first spritz, it is a peppery rose, than quickly fades into a violet-mint. 2 hours later, it is non-existent, which is unusual for my skin chemistry .

Another blind buy that isn't working great for me! Very vintage smelling, peppery, rose scent. I dont detect any fruits whatsoever.
Nothing in it that excites me, not that I would enjoy wearing ..I expected smoother, prettier, this is a bit dry, a big scent, no sweetness at all, I don't know, for the money, I feel it is overrated basically..
It is similar to Veneta Bottega Legere in the drydown....
Only for lovers of classy peppery florals...it isn't anything new, it is like Chloe with a big dose of spicy rose.
In the drydown, remains a very faint blackcurrant note, very shy..

This is a very surprising fragrance, but not because of any originality, which it's utterly devoid of. Who would have guessed that the designer of such an avant garde fashion label would be such a huge fan of Yardley's English Rose! I guess everything old really is new again.

And she obviously love YSL's Paris as well, which isn't as surprising. I guess she told the fragrance's designer this, so they simply mixed the two together, then removed any remaining sweetness, so that no-one would guess. They must figure the brand name will be enough to sell this one.
