Great summer fresh perfume, I much prefer this to Neroli Portofino. Neroli Portofino has a very sharp and strong opening which I personally don’t like. However Azure Lime is more reserved and the citrus note is more pleasant. It definitely leans masculine, because of the pretty dark woody note. Some people have said that it smells like cleaning products or bug spray, which I don’t get at all, it smells quite premium. In terms of “worth the price” (which is a big consideration point for most Tom Ford perfumes), this smell is quite high quality. Not £220 high quality but high quality nonetheless. I’d pay £130 for a 100ml bottle of this. For just the smell, it’s a 4.2/5 for me. Including the high price, around-about the current rating seems fair, if not 3.7/5.

Why would you spend £200+ on this when you could spritz yourself in £10 mosquito repellant for the same effect ?

It's nice, but I can't dissociate the scent from cleaning products or bug spray. And it dries down like a cheap men's deodorant.

Citric, aquatic, sour, fresh. Musky dry down.

Dimmuburger

I love lime scents in my cologne portfolio, and this has to be #1 if not right there adjacent for me. And unlike many quality citrus frags, this has respectable longevity and definitely solid sillage. I honestly would prefer that it remained a bit more linear; I'm not looking for florals when I'm buying a lime or citrus frag, but I think Azure Lime does it better than say, Bohemian Lime which I've tried so hard to like but the floral notes in that one's drydown just churn my stomach. Incredible blast of realistic lime citrus off the top, as realistic as Renaissance or Nio which is saying something. And dries into a pretty nice fougere or barber-esque fragrance. Price is contemptuous of course being a TF, but maybe you can find one second hand. Don't know that I can compel myself to spend $200+ on anything under 100-125ml of a niche that I absolutely love anymore.

communist

Similar to Maison Francis Kurkdjian Aqua Celestia.

dogzillamd

I don't care about silage, longevity, or cost. This stuff is amazing and I will always have a bottle.

Clamp7

Great fresh lime scent, awesome for warm weather. Also got a 20ml decant for sale, hmu if interested

sim0nsalas

I love layering this on top of 2 different fragrances in summertime:
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille
Creed Virgin Island Water
By itself, it's okay, but not my thing really.
It is well done regardless.
Although, I can't speak for it's re-release as I've only had the original formula.

JackieM

Citrusy Irish Spring, from start to finish. Not a bad way to smell at all, but also not a great way to spend $300.

want to drink this mf smells like sprite

Watchthethrone

Tom ford continuously hits whenever they make a summer fragrance. Very citrusy

Nosestalgic

Described as unisex but decidedly very masculine scent to my nose. The lime quickly fades away and it smells like a more generic men's aftershave. This scent makes me think of something my dad would wear.

MEckert

Reminds me of the green classic Polo from the 1980s. Classic male leaning scent. Fresh and clean, collegiate, preppy. Smells like aftershave more than a high end fragrance.

los benjos

Was initially going for something heavier for winter. Sprayed tobacco vanille on one wrist, and azure lime on the other (I liked the colour of the bottle). After a few hours I decided I liked the lime more.

It opens fresh (my wife says minty and doesn’t like the opening at all) and to be fair she has a point, the strong citrus at the beginning is what I like the least. After about half an hour it changes to something much warmer with the woods and musk coming into their own. All of this with this faint lime accord running constantly through.

I’m 50 and in the last few years I’ve moved considerably to the fresher end of the scale, this is probably lovely in summer, but for summer I can think of better options (kilian kologne, the orange or bergamot spugnatura’s for instance). It’s winter here in Belgium and I’m enjoying azure lime as pick me up, and it works for me in this season as the drydown wood and musk are warming. In some ways it’s like colonia Intensa with its old school barbershop vibe. For me masculine and perfect for my age bracket.

As usual, hideous price point for private blend, but there’s an originality and undeniable enjoyability to this scent that made me swipe my card.

konga5

Flippin' FANTASTIC for about 30 minutes . Than a retired skin scent . FEELS LIKE A CREED (super opening , beautiful development - the fades back to a skin scent that you must push your nose into in order to catch a whiff). Nobody will smell this on you. LOVE the color of the bottle. Looks MAGNIFICENT next to Bitter Peach , Lost Cherry and Neroli Portofino on the counter display. Oh well.

Yalcin05

This is a nostalgic scent for me... my grandfather smelled like this all the time and i really loved how fresh and luxurious he smelled.. perhsps because of his age it suited him pefectly. So for me this is a beautiful thing as im on a hunt for extra bottles .. not retail ofcourse hehe..

Anyways the smell is a classic Mediterranean smell and indeed reminds you of azure. Like the other azure this is based on a Mediterranean inspired profile. You can find any of these types of scents very cheap around there, which means that Tom Ford is not a cheap thing at all.. I think they inspire other regions to get lost with their senses in the azure.. beautiful and inspiring art!

Blast of pure smashed lemons and citrons.. with a musky base and a sandalwood which pops trough the journey.. like a shaving cream but someone added a juicy lemon on top of it.. that's exactly the smell how I would describe this. Anyways for me a emotional meaning so I'm biased by giving it a 10.

Performance is pretty good on me: 6 hours with 2 hours of projecting good. In the heat it projects better and sticks days on fabrics.

Hennessy909

If it was 50$/100ml it could be acceptable, not this price range. Smells boring, like really boring.
generic AF

violeteme

Another Tom Ford that smells like old school spray deodorant for 3 euros.

Uppanatum

Is this sold as a 100mL size?

katsong

This smells like Costa Azzurra by Tom Ford, with a lime top note!

dcjimr

I've tested this twice and was really impressed by the longevity. The lime also stays around during most of the dry down. A little too generic men's designer-ish for my taste and overpriced, but a nice fragrance.

Londonchick

Wouldnt rec this as a blind buy. Very generic citrus lime, very masculine leaning. The kind of thing you shouldn’t be paying more than $50 for. Decent longevity but minimal projection.

Honeyone

Only had a test spray, but absolutely loved it!

sgd11

One of the most disappointing and worst fragrance I’ve smelled in a while. Dry down is dirty/nasty musty smell. It could just be my skin, but this one's a hard pass.

Pilikins

This is a lovely, fresh and aromatic perfume, but I am just saddened by the greed of this house. This perfume is really nothing special. In fact Deauville by Chanel does a much better job. It is equally fresh, aromatic and delicious, with better longevity and sillage at a fraction of the price. Don’t you get it TF, people are getting sick of your unjustifiable, greedy gouging? Yes, if you create something unique and brilliant. No if it is ho-hum, or done better by someone else. As for me, I’m reaching for my Deauville and passing on yet another gouge attempt from TF. Good on you Chanel.

Sauce God

So wait.. Azure Lime got a re-release? Out of all these discontinued masterpieces (i.e. Purple Patchouli, Bois Rouge, Plum Japonais, Amber Absolute, etc.), this is the one getting a re-release?

You're playing games with us, Mr Ford.

If you think of Azure Lime as an eau de cologne concentration, it would make much more sense. It's being sold as an eau de parfum, though by taxonomy it is an edc — and whether an edc should cost this much.. I'll leave that in the middle. (Hell no!)

The top notes are a blast of lime and turpentine, and that lime note doesn’t grow softer despite the floral, musky and spicy notes eventually joining in. It stays dry and cool from top to bottom, ending on a quiet, dusty note.

Azure Lime wears like an eau de cologne and should be splashed with abandon for full effect. It captures a very specific notion of luxury, namely: drugstore cologne.

Whateverwhocares

Very meh. Not feeling the woody, musky tone. Needs more sugar. Not enough lime either. Way too subdued. I want to smell like a damn lime, damn it 🍋.

bradsapho

Same as it ever was with tom ford. Excellent fragrance - no way would i pay it. It isn't a standout in the way oud wood / tobacco vanille among other hits for TF. It's lovely, but i'm not sure anything is £300 lovely.

Arguss

Fortunately I have the brown bottle formula and at the time it wasn’t nearly as pricey as it is now. It’s a beautiful scent of lime of course but it’s performance is weak as fk. I layer it with Tuscan Leather which smells fantastic together.

Steven221283

Basing this on the new updated release for 2023: Opens nicely, the lime/citruses are really nice, but unfortunately this doesn't last all that long. The projection is weak, the dry down is close to skin and is just a woody musk with a floral hint. Nothing special to be honest.

ckorp8

Lovely citrus-musk-herbicious scent that I love, but not particularly at this premium price. The quality might be higher than some others but alas definitely not in term of longevity and silage. The on skin was only three hours albeit a much longer on clothing longevity of over twenty four hours.

Jkr111

Got a sample and am so disappointed by this,it smells like generic 90s mall aftershave (Hugo Boss kind of thing). Is Tom Ford on a budget cutting exercise? The cherry range smelled like cheap hair product. Have kept faith and ordered a Soleil de Feu sample - but this is your last chance, Ford.

The Wolf

Testing a sample from from a retail store (Nordstrom exclusive re-relese) and it's great in the summer heat 🫒. The opening is a lime accord that is pretty good but short lived, and then comes in the agathosma.

The best way I can describe agathosma on my skin is a blend of corriander (but less pungent) mixed with vetiver (but less rooty) and seasoned with something green and sulphuric. Slightly spicy, almost like green onion, but made palatable for wearing as a fragrance. I think it's great and unique, but others make not get the nuances if you're not a fragrance nerd like me.

The drydown maintains some of that African agathosma, but add in some light woods and a clean musk. Smells different than norm hot weather frags, but not wildly complex. Green and unique, but not exotic. I wouldn't feel out of place wearing this during casual activities like running errands or even to the office.

Really like this one so far. Performance seems about average so far.
Scent 7.7/10
Performance TBD

JDinHNL

I really wanted to like this… Mandarino from Tom Ford is an all time favorite, but never tried Azure Lime until now. My biggest issue with Azure Lime is that it has basically no longevity to it - spray it on, bathe in it, it will still disappear in minutes. Mandarino, by comparison, has a pleasant scent that delivers for hours.
If you tend to use a light scent because that goes best for you, then I think Azure Lime may be perfect for you. If, like me, you live in a more tropical environment year round, or going on vacation there, then I’m sad to say it will disappear before you step outside.
I’d recommend Fleur and Mandarino from Tom Ford over Azure Lime. And if you like either of those, it is easy to skip even trying Azure Lime.

PDM_Sam

Reminds me of Spicebomb night vision with the lime/citrus note. Cool bottle but overpriced for what it is

grzywo

I heard this was a different fragrance not just a re release, similar to boise moroccan 2022. Why is there no update on here?

Manny44

They're not really charging $290 for 50 mls are they? That's obscene. This was overpriced when it was $160/ 50ml.

Flippi1

Well my wish came true and it’s been re released …. Oh well was quite underwhelmed by it !

leatherorrisviolet

If you like TF Italian Cypress, Halston Z14, Roja Apex, and Roja Scandal but are looking for something more summer-centric, more youthful, slightly more modern, and less cloying….. look no further. This has the Italian Cypress DNA without the stuffy country club vibe

jygold

It definitely has the lime scent of it without the sweetness of lime. Definitely not the best portrayal of lime.

bradsapho

Actually real nice. It's a shame it's so expensive for what it is, however.

montgomery99

My SA let me try this a bit early. It's nice. Reminds me of some of the Chanel "Les Eaux" scents. Nice citrus-woody-musk. But for $290 for 50mLs? No way. Needs to be less than half that cost for me to even consider it. Simply nuts.

spcmiller

My SA at Nordstrom (Nordstrom exclusive, at least for now) had a pre-release bottle so my son and I had a chance to test it today. Expected to be announced officially June 1. The bottle is clear greenish blue, similar to several of the other PB line. It smells similar to the original, but feels more floral on top. Sillage and longevity are what you would expect from a citrus-centered scent: good projection from my wrist for like an hour and then a skin scent. It was delightful to try, but at current PB pricing there’s no way I’d buy a bottle at retail. It is nice that they’re unvaulting some of the older scents. My vote is for Moss Breches or London to be unvaulted next.

ckorp8

@LuckyStar1 the bottle will be close to Sol di Positano type. Wonder if it will be out in a 250ml version cuz I only saw the picture of the 50ml version.

LuckyStar1

I have heard that this beauty is being re released this year. I’m wondering if it will be part of the Signature line glass bottles or the frosted glass bottles? I’m really looking forward to it as I once owned it many years ago. The online prices are extortionate for the original versions. I will gladly wait for its release. Hope they do a 100ml size. Bright citrus, musky and fresh. Perfect for spring and summer.

MisterWhite

read somewhere that this will be unvaulted this year.

For me it´s one of the best Lime-Scents i´ve ever smelled. So underrated.
It´s lasts also a pretty long time on my skin....The musk helps a lot...

Atomikbomb_

This is quite simplistic to my nose, and it's very much in need of some more fixatives...as it doesn't last more than 45 minutes. Not on my husband, nor myself.

I'm purposefully reviewing this soon after Atelier's Pacific Lime, and I personally much prefer that one to this, this leans much more masculine and is indeed a "blue" lime. I'm comfortable wearing this, but I don't think massive amounts of women are looking for this type of fragrance. I'm actually not either honestly, this was included in a sample grab bag.

The opening is nice, it's quite crisp and refreshing! It doesn't smell like anything beside lime to me...maybe a bit of bergamot. Nothing orangey or lemony though. It's a rich b*tch fragrance - something you could reapply incessantly if money was no consideration, just to keep the top notes kicking.

It smells like cedar in the drydown, if I needed to guess, and a pleasant bit of musk. But really, my husband and I both wish it lasted, and I think it really needs to at this price point. TF is definitely capable of such perfumery, so this is a bit of a letdown. It's nice for working out in, I'll say that!

Goti Soda... LOVE IT!!!

Desis will know about the green bottle soda with marble stopper, it's available in the Sub-Continent. Refreshing, childhood specialty drink during Summer. Azure Lime Smells exactly like that Marble Lime Soda.

Overall quite an inoffensive, work-horse of a scent!
I can imagine some making it their Signature Scent... Worth the Price?? Not sure but it's a Discontinued Gem! : (

I have a vintage Azure Lime and it easily lasts a work day.
EAU de GAGA seems similar but haven't tried that one! Looks like it isn't readily available either.

Well then, Goti Soda Jindabad (Long Live Marble Soda)

jarroditshallbe2

Unlight Lime. No fizziness of a drink. Less mojito and more lime margarita in the opening. A perfectly peeled and sliced lime, lying perfect atop a black mottled marble counter top or black obelisk. Each slice is overly packed with juice that pulses again the skin to escape it. Completely unisex here. A salted rim, sugar in the mix where one of the main ingredients is the sweat dripping from the neck of your nights dancing infatuation. If you bit hat neck, you could suck out the carnality of its wearer.
It starts the gets a touch smoother and deeper rhythmically about 10 minutes in. You can feel its weight on your skin. Its embracing a touch of pina colada vanilla for a moment.
The pulsing flesh has subsided, you cant keep up that pace for too long. Oddly enough stickiness show up here from the draining lime, keeping you stuck to its surface. From the draining lime, small white fondant flowers blossom its liquid. The grow out quickly, and burst as if they were part of a fizz, but instead of bubbles, its tiny brittle flowers.
Now a leather jacket, but the leather is made of lime rind... the 90s come screeching into thought. Natural mint and more simple syrup sparkling from time to time. Wooded mint. Its come up from its depth and warmed up substantially. I feel a pull towards masculine, but that could be my skin in it. At first the neck veins from which I sourced its dripping from were feminine, but the thought of the jacket is distinctly 90s male confidence. Lime still dominates, but a heavy citrus, maybe a bergamot appears in its base. Which leads me to say that Venetian Bergamot is probably the closest in the line to it, even if only texturally. Same club, different dancer.
I loved the intensity of the opening, now its become more manageable. Its not bursting anymore. Its heart rate slowed. There's got to be some leather in the middle/ dry down now. Its the weight of that jacket thats too hot to be worn in this club, but the beauty is worth the pain tonight. I don't know if I'm forcing comparison here, but maybe this try down is Habit Vert Citron? Guerlain can keep the red.
Stays close to the skin, longevity isn't top tier TF, and if it was still east to obtain... buy it. Hunting it down and paying all you'll have too would be harder to justify. It wouldn't be out of place in an edt signature bottle, or a blue bottle for that matter. Only wear this in flash backs, 2021 its almost out of place. It settles in to somewhere in the world of Fahrenheit but not as aggressive. Tom Ford shows his age in this fragrance heart, not that its a bad thing.

seagreentangerine

The perfume lottery is when you pull open your perfume drawer and at the back, you find a huge, satisfying flagon of Azure Lime that hasn't been touched for the very first time.

I bought this apothecary bottle when I worked for Estee Lauder Group Companies and as some of you may or may not know, you get a hefty discount on Tom Ford... thank you Aerin ;) Anyway... this strange beauty and a vat of Champaca Absolute came home with me (fast forward... 10 years later).

It's January, in the UK... I put Azure Lime on my wrists (don't scrub or rub people... you'll ruin it)... and, err, a slug on a piece off cotton wool in my bra, plus a dab under each arm pit.

When I first put it on, I kid you not, this fabulous mystery of a perfume was not going to give me anything, nothing, nada, I was confused... I literally could smell nothing. So I shoved a rather large of bottle of Antonia's Flowers ROKKA into my bag for later and went to work. WELL..... hold the front the page, this perfume starts to unfold, literally, every 10 minutes in my car journey, it's giving me more, a bit more, then it's all LIMES, limes limes limes... and then it's sexy limes, I feel a bit of a nudge, I am smiling to myself, thinking, is this happening, then I get to work, into the lift, 30 minutes later, it's flowering limes and a hint of sex, just a hint. Under the arms, this perfume seems to love some heat and between the breasts, it's quite a personal pleasure trip. How on earth they crammed in a lot of subtlety into this perfume is beyond my comprehension, it's very very clever... like, super sonic clever, like playing a Rachmaninov Piano Concerto at extra extra quiet volume... genius.

Is this perfume a mystery or what, I can see it would be very easy to dismiss it, walk away, cry to your bank manager, throw it in the face of your Tom Ford consultant through the laptop screen (social distancing!) start looking for cheap thrills on All Beauty, convince yourself that Light Blue is everything, or reach for the instant thrill of Gucci Rush, but this perfume has its own quiet magic. And if you're the impatient type, or someone who thought Chloe (Lagerfeld) and Chloe Narcisse was an every day shower fresh scent... or you're someone who wants their perfume to smell like a perfect mathematical equation, you're not going to want this.

If, however, you want to amuse yourself and have a laugh, try and get a small decant and enjoy the perverse pleasure of this extremely complex perfume, in the privacy of your own lunch time, it's not going to set the world on fire, but it's freaking worth getting a small bit to see what we're talking about here. It's a beautiful piece of complex magic but a very hefty expensive magic if you're playing the full price.

p.s. i tried a layer of Miss Dior roller ball concentration on top of this tiny lime fiesta ... and I've also tried a heavy spritz of Dyptique Eau Rose over Azure Lime too... surprise yourselves, you know you want to ;-)

This is like a cross between Concentre Orange and Citron Noir, and towards the dry down you get some florals and some marine notes. It's not bad, just boring. Add TF prices into the mix and you got yourself a serious pass.

Marino419

If you can find a batch that lasts, then this is a perfect gem. The problem is finding a batch that can last. I go through 50ml bottles on a yearly basis. It seems to be 50/50 as to whether or not I get a good long lasting batch.

My5Scents

Although it’s really a scent for summer days, I love putting this on in cold winter mornings. I find the refreshing blast of lime is wonderfully awakening and blasts away the winter blues with the promise of holidays in warmer climes. To be honest, it lacks complexity to my untrained nose - I just get lots of lime at first, then a faint background of florals and woods.
Like all citrus frags, longevity is poor.
Not one of Tom Ford’s finest creations, it’s hardly very original either, but I happen to love lime. What’s more I need all the help I can get to wake up on a cold winter morning!

joeteazo

Crisp & fresh, definitely smells of good quality. The lime isn't as juicy as I wanted from it, rather more of a muted lime. But the musky woody dry down is great. Performance is lacking big time though.

AndySmellsGreat

Lime is a hard scent to present naturally.

Here Tom Ford arguably succeeded in producing a sweet Lemon and lime scent that is natural and a few minutes presents some light florals with a subtle wooden base. I’m sure there’s aldehydes and iSo E In here too making it so airy it’s undeniably there as a scent yet undetectable at the same time...

Completely and utterly underwhelming especially as it is an EDP. I’ve smelt Supermarket Branded Hand Wash dispensers that do a better job...

I bought the last bottle as it’s discontinued in a brain fade moment...

I can’t fathom some reviews here... either easily impressed, inexperienced or simply written by Tom Fords mates...

tayyabforyouth

This is a really beautiful barbershop lime fragrance for men. I smell basically a tart yet slightly sweet lime with hints of mint, and that's basically it. The overall impression is very refreshing and very realistic to the scent of lime (does not smell like lime Jello or candy at all). Sillage is moderate (more on the lighter side actually) while longevity is also moderate but on the weaker side, which is to be expected from a lime fragrance (this is actually one of the stronger ones). Overall a very beautiful concoction that was discontinued by Tom Ford.

TopDonna321

Nice every day scent, nothing too incredible about it but a nice citrus frag. It definitely has some depth and doesn't just smell citrusy but honestly? I wouldn't pay £158 for this one. I received a sample today so I'm enjoying it but definitely not worth full price. Not my fave Tom Ford.

mmcdonald36

Apparently Tom's gonna start making this one again. Can't wait

topdogrwd

Azure Lime is just sweet lemons squeezed with a touch of florals. The fragrance opens up with sharp citrus which quickly turns to slightly sweet citrus and projects for 4-5 hours.

For a very basic composition like this one cannot expect more than 5 hrs longevity as the fixative musk is also mild.

vvp424

Honestly, I don't understand this fragrance. To me it smells like some generic citrus/aquatic summer EDT, and not in a good way. Sometimes I can smell plastic. Top notes are a nice fresh bitter lime though (go figure!), but I'd say my favorite lime is Guerlain Homme Intense.

Yes, I can see that people may find Azure Lime pleasant, but I find it to be linear and boring, and it does not smell unique, expensive or niche. This should not cost as much as it does.

LenaNif

Best male fragrance. This is erotic from top to bottom.

lemac

just finished my bottle ,and was overjoyed as i picked up a bottle on ebay for £80 crisis averted for another while .better start looking now for next one !why stop this ? love it ,there is a few other TFs that should be discontinued but for me not this reminds me of the time i spent on Santorini with an old Girl friend 20 year ago, high heat cool white wine, white cotton shirt white linen table clothe big September moon just rising ahh well theirs always the next life .here's hoping .PS ON THE GAGA COMPARISONS
the gaga starts with lime yes but 30 secs later it turns to the drydown of a cheap frag my 87 year old mum used to wear pleasant enough but just smells cheap ,the givency i haven't tried .

Frankee

hmmm, azure lime. was a blind buy. i needed to have it because it's been discontinued (info from sales rep.)

this is a very complicated composition. everytime i use it, it's different. another reviewer mentioned the "dead starfish smell". i smelled that the first time i sprayed it on me and i was very disappointed by the result.

the second time i used it was different: in the opening very loud citrus which slightly fades away in about half an hour. then it's a salty, citrusy light smell with hint of wood. not loud, very close to my skin, very mature. not bad. so far worth the money.

the more i wear it, the more i like it. very unique.

it actually should be bottled in a dark blue bottle. the first in line with costa azzurra, mandarino amalfi and neroli portofino.

let's wait for summer and see how it performs in hot temps. can't wait.

so far: 7/10 overall

jacmac

tom ford rep at Nordstrom said Azure Lime is being discontinued so get a bottle while you can

H.ss9

Its a crisp citrus fragrance with flower and wood note. and thats it. however, theres a bit of uniqueness in this one, maybe cuz quality ingredient were used. it can't be compare with neroli portofino(NF) because NF is far more complex and beautiful compare to azure lime.

Ratings
Projection 7/10

Its a decent citrus fragnance with poor longevity. I it doesn't worth buying for £145.

PS: dry down is the best part of this fragrance.

landshark321

A pleasant combination of lime and woods, Tom Ford Azure Lime is one of the better warm weather-leaning Private Blend fragrances, and seems to be generally well-liked while not a fan favorite. Some get limes (and only limes) out of it, and for a lime-intensive fragrance, one can certainly do better by price via Tommy Bahama Set Sail St. Barts. I get more, though---Azure Lime is relatively subdued and sophisticated, but an agreeable blend of limes with mainly woody notes, as well as some musk. Beyond that, there's not much complexity to describe, which is perhaps a detraction though in this case I do not intend it to bed. Sometimes a simple summer fragrance is ideal when the weather forces it to project, unlike a winter fragrance that gains an advantage by having many layers to be peeled when it's so cold out (i.e. Tom Ford London).

Neither a projection nor longevity monster, but on par with the other warm weather Tom Ford Private Blend fragrances that I've tried (Costa Azzurra, Mandarino di Amalfi, Neroli Portofino, Rive D'Ambre). Understandably, some might feel robbed, relative to the strength of Tobacco Vanille or Tuscan Leather, but I always find the cold/warm weather differential to be relevant in composing a fragrance.

Certainly one of the more pleasant entries that needs to be nabbed soon since I've been told repeatedly by reps that it is being discontinued (as is Italian Cypress).

The. Best. Frag. Ever!
my absolutely 10/10!
very powerful manly fragrance. rich lime that turnes into nice wood at the end. I don't get the complaints about the longetivity, on my skin it lasts for about 6 hours.
A must have if you can afford it.

PAK

By far and above the best Lime scent I've come across! A very fresh, unexpected spin to timeless essences. There are Vibrant citrus notes, sophisticated florals, warm woods and sensual musk that evoke an easy elegance and relaxed style.

2livekru

This has by far the worst longevity and projection on my skin. When I sprayed it on it was already a skin scent. Am hour later it was gone. I live in a hot and humid climate where this should shine. Very disappointed.

FORTEZZA

Quite nice, it uses alot of the same citrus notes used in grey vetiver. This is more woody and musky, GV is vetiver and vanillic nutmeg

Vazlalu

Hands down this is my favorite one, just found out its UNISEX, some co workers asked me if it was a mans perfume when I was spraying the paper sample, that didn't stop me because I do believe its the best one...
Then second place for champaca absolute!

houstcs

I am pleasantly surprised to like this. I never really read about it, just got a 2ml sample and put it on (2 sprays to chest). The lime is not very strong, but there. The scent is never overwhelming like some TF. Honestly, the vibe I get is Bvlgari Man with a twist of lime (light greenness). More masculine than the name would suggest.

The sweetest kiss is a brief momentary lapse of reason, no matter how good the kisser.

The pleasure of enjoying the finest food and wine is not an endurance contest.

I absolutely love this scent. It makes me happy. Period. From the instant I first smelled it, to the last moment I am able to detect it after applying.

Smelling good is a selfish endeavor. Sure I want others to think I smell nice, but I pay good money so that I can enjoy whatever endorphins or other brain chemistry happens when I put on something that just simply delights.

Azume Lime opens to the best citrus hello nice to meet you I'm super expensive and made just for you to enjoy introductions ever. Wow. Just absolutely smile producing for me. And I much prefer its lime to any of the many other orange type fragrances out there. Invigorating but not harsh. There is also balance and richness here that are very exquisite.

I think it's the dense floral jungle looming behind the beautifully orchestrated lime explosion that gives this one just the right twist. Jasmine? Gardenia? Plumeria? My nose is still novice on particulars like that but I do garden a bit and those flowers come to mind. There is also some aquatic stuff happening during the dry down.

Yes, like most of the other reviewers, I can attest that Azure Lime is not a "beast" like I often read how other perfumes are classified. It doesn't need to be. And it can't be. Some things that smell this fantastic are perfect just the way they are. It was born to live fast and die young. A shooting star. If somebody else around me happens to enjoy catching a brief whiff while they're in my personal space and Azure Lime is still doing its thing, then that's just fabulous for everybody involved. But it's all about me me me.

I don't wear fragrances to fill an elevator or slap my co-corker in the next cubicle in the face with my scent choice for the day. Smell THIS! Yeah ... No.

I give this 3 thumbs way up. Way too expensive. Way too short lived. Way too addictive. But that's just how some of the best things in life behave. You can find cheaper. You can find more radioactive. But none better IF you're into this sort of elixir. I am. And I should have bought the bigger bottle ... what the hell was I thinking? Cheated myself instead of treating myself and will end up spending a lot more spritz for spritz when I have to go back and repurchase this little treat. Maybe I should go today just in case it goes away? Can't live without in my collection.

RandolphCanuck

Unique citrus fragrance that morphs towards something more aquatic-like as it dries down.

Versatile. There's a subtle barbershop vibe that makes this a good choice for the office, and a rugged undertone that would not be out of place on a Cactus League baseball diamond.

Smells almost like a cross between Chanel Allure Homme Edition Blanche and Ralph Lauren Polo Explorer. I get good sillage and reasonable longevity.

Jomoves

I just don't get the buzz on this one. It seems like a Calvin Klein summer flanker. Reminds me in many ways of CK Crave with what I call the "salty dead starfish" note.

Lana148

Fresh, masculine, cologne-like fragrance. Soft woody-lime with a clean, musky base. Nothing too exiting, just OK.

Gelladon

This fragrance is a big disappointment in my opinion. As far as the scent its wonderful. This quality is what you would expect from the Tom ford brand. In terms of longevity and projection its fails on all levels. So I'm glad I have a sample and not a full bottle.

Joesgirl24.SS

Bought a decant for my husband because people were raving about it! It smells really nice! A really yummy clean crisp vibe! I like it, but... The price is outrageous for what you're getting! I sprayed my husband like 4 times and the scent is gone in a matter of hours! His skin chemistry is amazing with fragrances in terms of projection and longevity! Fragrances others complain about lasting very little time, last 12+ hours on him! I'm glad I bought a decant instead of a fb, I would be absolutely pissed if I got a fb, because performance is TERRIBLE with this one! Again it's a beautiful scent, but it's fleeting, and not worth the $$$$$!! I'll stick to buying him Amouage or Creed... Will have to try the powerhouses of the PB line though. :)

perfume243

Esto no dura una hora an que hay personas que dicen que dura más jajajaj es muy débil. .?

perfume243

Yo voy a comprar esto es pero que convine con mi piel

williamvargas

if price were no object for me I would already be buying this. This is truly one of the best smelling citrus based fragrances I have sniffed, again price point will always be a factor for me and I need to find value in fragrances as most people would. When I think of all the fragrances I have amassed over the last couple of years I could have cut out two or 3 others and just purchased this, but that is how this deal goes for me. Just getting around to trying it. Not again! If I had known you were going to come along I would have waited for you. You should have sent me an email 3 years ago Mr. Ford warning me you had this fragrance up your sleeve. I think what sends me over the top is their splendid use of musk that extends the depth of this citrus fragrance. Does not last long enough though, but I sort of expect that. i have not had too many citrus fragrances that do. This is a shame but while Azure Lime is in its opening moments right out of the nozzle is so pleasing. Another one of their private blends that I love.. I have enjoyed spraying this one on my arm and sniffing it in, ok one more spray. definite unisex, falls into the category of smelling well is smelling well. On a woman I would say did you just get out of the shower sweetie?
If you are a citrus fan it is hard to not recommend sampling this.
In the new version of The Great Gatsby, there is a scene where the character Wolf something says to Jay Gatsby " You always smell so good! " This is what I would imagine he smelled of, it is so good..

scentdoctor

smells like VIW without the coconut rum note.. doesnt last very long however.. if it did this wud be a killer summer frag

Manny44

This was the first frag from the private line I tested and although I liked it, it quickly took a back seat to the powerhouses like Noir de Noir and Tuscan Leather. My conclusion was that this was a light weight and that the juice wasn't worthy of the price. I've done a complete 180 on this one. This is the best spring/summer fragrance I've tested.Period. Because the price is high and because I love the house of Givenchy I'm going to try Insense Summer and see if I'm satified with that, but If not I may just have to bite the bullet and buy Azure Lime.

Houdini4

I have to well and truly eat my words on this one. I have a proper sample now and after recent wears have discovered that neroli is obviously a key component in this fragrance but I wouldn't class it as a white floral scent. The neroli has to be there to compliment the lime and give a clean feel but also as a key for the citrus to grip on to and prolong their scent. This works very well and I get decent longevity from it but I've changed my mind about wanting this fragrance in my collection, and that's simply because of the price. It's always been something of a sticking point about Tom Ford scents but if something's worth it, it's worth it. Unfortunately this is not quite worth £140 for me but I have to say Azure Lime's dry down is very nice and above all very masculine, at least on my skin anyway.

moostashio

This is my first review. I've been wearing this all day, and I'm disappointed. I was so excited to get this, but on my skin, it's a very linear lime that fades after a couple of hours. I've been looking for a summer "signature scent" and I really hoped that this would be it. I don't get any of the other notes, except maybe a generic wood, but definitely not musk or floral. I envy those whose skin amplifies the "hidden" notes.

SDavis93

This is a very nice fragrance, it is over priced for what it is, but its good i also like the name but i believe the 'Azure' is misleading. Tom Ford Fragrances have great names but some are misleading.

Its starts with a burst of sharp fresh citrus predominantly lime which quickly fades after about a minute, becoming a more mellow lime which smells very nice and natural for about 1-2 hours, after you get the woody notes which mix with the lime given it a very green, wet wood type smell with the lime still there. this lasts for about 3-5 hours. then it dries down and has this clean salty, mossy type smell which is quite unique the only way i can describe it is if anyone has been to the beach on a very hot, humid and windy day when you can really smell the salt in the air its like that. when it fades you are left with this woody musky base with subtle lime in the background. this fragrance reminds me of spring, or a horrible day to go to the beach.

This is not like 'Neroli Portofino' at all, its a slightly more complex green, citrus, salty, mossy, woody, musky fragrance as opposed to a generic citrus cologne fragrances. saying that it still has a slight generic feel to it but not 'Portofino' generic. overall a very good fragrances in my opinion perfect for warm fall days or spring/summer, its very well blended and has good projection and longevity 6+ hours. 7.5/10

Michael1962

Reminds me of 'Lime Fresh' soap from the 70's and Tom is true his word, its all Lime. Not so sharp and citrusy but more well rounded.
Its a bit more single minded with this note than say the juicy Jamaican lime note in Creed's Virgin Island Water but the aroma is all summer. All crisp, fresh and green. Like all Tom Fords its well blended in this case with subtle florals and woody musk base.
Not a huge wow factor but nevertheless cool and refreshing and not really a standout in the Private Blend collection. There are others I would prefer for my signature spring/summer scent from Tom.

Roblord

It smells like a strong lime fragrance, do yourself and your wallet a favor by passing this. Dior Homme Sport does this much better for much cheaper.

Houdini4

Call me pedictable but I love a good citrus fragrance with a woody, musky base and that's exactly what this is.
The best citrus fragrance I've ever tried in fact.
It has so much zing it quite simply has to be smelled to be believed.
It's not just lime though, it's a wonderful blend of citrus fruits and you get them all...It should be called Azure sublime really!
A few people saying it's like Neroli Portofino...can't see that myself, other than it being fresh and having some citrus in.
Oh and the bottles are very similiar. ;)
Although I love citrus scents... is this really original enough? I don't doubt there's other more affordable options out there and some that stand up to this or are indeed better so I won't be rushing to get it.
The only thing you need to know is that the Tom Ford private collection is great and Azure Lime is no exception.

If you think of Azure Lime as an Eau de Cologne, it makes sense. By concentration, it is an eau de parfum, but by taxonomy it is an edc. Whether an edc should cost this much will be a function of your budget.

Lime is such a tight note. It is so specific and so concise. Citrus notes tend to be sharp, reading as fresh and bracing, but lime is narrower than other citrus notes. There is no lead-in and no denouement. Azure Lime takes advantage of this sharpness. The topnotes are a blast of lime and turpentine, like a face-scrunching reduction of gin and lime. The lime note (wonderfully!) doesn’t grow softer. Despite the flowers, musk and spice notes that eventually join it, the lime itself never submits.

In a classic edc, floral and spice notes broaden the chief citrus note (typically lemon or bergamot) and musks soften it. In what feels like a reversal, the lime bends the other notes to its will. The floral note (jasmine?) dries as soon as it appears and the musk note gives the lime more backbone than padding, lending a woody feel to the composition.

Azure Lime stays dry and cool from top to bottom, ending on a quiet, dusty note. A woody/spicy, cardamom/cedar scent stays attached to the lime so that even into the basenotes, the fragrance has a juniper/gin sting.

Azure Lime wears like and eau de cologne and should be splashed with abandon for full effect. It captures a very specific notion of luxury, one that I have to say I find appealing: the $10 dose of cologne. It is the anti-bling of perfumery. Forget the rare, the exotic, the over-the-top. This is the luxe of the simple done well.

It's definitely a citrus perfume, with freshness, and muskiness. To me this is like the Father of "Neroli Portofino" also from the line of Tom Ford as they both smell very similar this one being a bit stronger. This is great for summer nights. A well blended perfume. Try it.

wesleyhclark

Yes sir, it goes on as lime, all right, no mistaking that. The top notes remind me strongly of the Hai Karate Lime we once bought my Dad for Christmas.

It dries down into something my wife calls "soapy," and indeed it is. An hour or so after that it morphs into an unpleasant dirty smell.

I am SO not impressed - especially at over $200 a bottle retail. And how precisely is it "azure?"

RemingtonSteele

Very nice citrus from TF. I do enjoy heavy lime frags tho..This and Set Sail St. Barts are summer go-to's for sure! Smells very natural and has more than just the citrus underneath to hold it up. I would only wear this in 75+ degree weather.

scissorshand_j

it smells like lime...nothing special..

Gashtasb

I smell Davidoff Good Life in this frag!

Roshap

wow, lime. not that i'm surprised, but still....wow, lime. someone else already wrote that tom ford is very honest in the name of this fragrance, and that's for sure (unlike the name "japon noir", which i love, but what does that name tell you?). i resisted azure lime for a long time because lime is my least favorite citrus note. sure enough, the first hour or so is all gimlet. i love a gimlet, just not on my skin. but then the woody, musky drydown is heavenly for hours. if you like citrus/musk, jalaine also offers an oil version which is absolutely gorgeus and a little less zesty/tart and more feminine.

wchickillo

Let me begin by saying that I loved the smell of this in the bottle.

With that being said, on my skin it was a different story. The second that it dried down, the fresh lime note was lost and i was left with a typical musty note. Its not that it was bad, it just wasn't what i expected from this fragrance. defiantly not the worth money in my opinion seeing you can buy something similar for half the price. overall 7/10 in my opinion. again, not a bad fragrance, just not for me.

Grottola

Azure Lime isn't TOO unique; I've smelled similar musky lime accords before, like in Brooks Brothers New York Gentleman (which is an eighth of the price), but what really makes this fragrance special, to me, is the drydown. The drydown has a salty-woody accord like saltwater or the beach, and when it meets the lime halfway, it's a really wonderful smell that I think would be ideal for summer. Does that necessarily mean it's worth the price tag? Nah, but if I could afford the stuff then maybe I'd buy it.

Muzoona

I describe this perfume in one word >>>> SEXY <<<< i love it on men .. so light so strong and so so so sexy.

mableymo09

Does anyone know which of the other Tom Ford private collection fragrances layer well with his Lime Azzure?

akats

Nice refreshing sour smell, but I personally think that there are so many others like this, may be better and much more cheap, that make AL, look very overestimated.

gypsy parfumista

First and foremost: I think Tom Ford is a pretentious man who thinks a bit too highly of himself, his designs and what not; however, he has (with his work for other Houses, and some of his own) proven he totally has the right to be so...THAT being said, onto the review!

*Thanks to Pitbull Friend for the sample vial!*

Azure Lime begins with an amazingly light and crisp citrus accord (lime? oh yes, but also with some grapefruit/yuzu and some light orange) opening rather brightly and also quite refreshing. It has some juiciness with zest (peel oils) resulting in a sweet dry freshness, bordering on sour but it never quite crosses over, rather nice! Repeated sniffs of my hand give me lovely wafts of citruses and some dry and warm flowers (neroli? jasmine?) underneath. I have NO idea why this is listed as a "floral woody musk" other than the listed notes INCLUDE "flowers, woods and musk". To me, it is a very elegant citrus eau de cologne type scent with the volume raised and the bass turned down a bit. As it continues, on my skin, it does get a bit woodier and also somewhat musky (though never anywhere near animalic). Elegant, but not all that "fancy", Azure Lime is (as others have already said) rather nice; but DOES have some similarities with many other "high end" FRESH men's scents. What it does do, however, is last much longer than most of them though its sillage is rather soft (not weak). You have to get very close, after it has dried completely, to get the "goods". Woody? A bit...Floral? I guess...Musky? In the best possible way. *winks* This scent is definitely very well-done. I LIKE it, for sure; but do not LOVE it (unlike some of the darker more earthy Private Blends). Let's put it like this: EVERY guy should have a nice crisp clean cotton button-down shirt. THIS is like that...do you really need to spend THAT much on a plain old shirt, especially if it is under a vest or blazer??!

Sillage: good then closer
Longevity: good
Overall: 3.75/5

Very nice? Oh yes indeed! Worth the asking price? Nah!! I do think if you really like citrus scents with a bit "more" that have a bit more longevity than most, try a sample for yourself. I can think of many other scents that smell JUST as good and cost considerably less than Azure Lime. My very first impression? AdP Colonia meets Green Irish Tweed for margaritas on the beach...

EDIT: Maybe an hour after posting this review, I resniffed my hand and have decided to "up" the rating for this fragrance from 3.0 to 3.75. YEAH, it's like that!! The dry down is the very best part of this scent. Woody, just enough musk...and so very sexy!! Tom Ford has (once again, it seems) made me eat my words...

Rokovakian

Smells like Acqua Di Gio crossed with Irish Spring soap. Azure Lime is a nice enough concoction, but $180 to $465 per bottle is simply not necessary just to smell inconspicuously mainstream. Whatever, chalk another one up for capitalism.

vertigo

Reminds me of vintage classic men's citrus colognes.
Stays exactly the same from the very beginning to the very end.

Go get some Eau Sauvage instead.
Or Essenza di Colonia by Acqua di Parma.

seaofghosts

I liked this perfume. Not the best in the line but far from the worst. It's very zesty but not too overpowering. The other notes do their job well and unlike the other reviewers, I don't think this perfume is boring at all. It's refreshing.

autumn89

If citrus is your thing, you can probably get a perfume similar in scent and equal in quality to this for under £20.

It's taking the p*ss to ask for over £100 for a jumped up sport fragrance.

Kterhark

I've been on a green kick lately, so good timing to try this one.

What I like about the Tom Ford line is that he is honest with his consumers; if he says 'lime', you'll get 'lime'.

And I like this 'lime'. It's the deliciously sour type you'd detect on your glass when sitting on a white sandy beach in the Caribbean. The faint woody back ground plays like warm sun on your beach setting, and the florals are simply the local fauna carried in on the soft breeze.

I have my generic comments about the Private blend series: the longevitiy won't see you through to your third margarita. This is, however, one of a few that I would agree is truly unisex. Try it if you like crisp, citrus greens. A good choice!

rictor07

Smelled this at Neiman Marcus this past weekend. In a word, boring! This smells just like 100 other citrus fragrances that can be found in the mainstream market and purchased for a tenth of the price. Not new. Not exciting. Not expensive or niche smelling. Dont waste your money on this one.
