smells like weed straight up. the leather in this is so smoky i interpret it as very marijuana-like. it also has a slightly rubbery, industrial undertone in it which just further adds to the whole vibe of this scent. the cherry (or i should probably say berry) on top of this is the light raspberry-like note i get on the opening which is like the intro into this industrial warehouse turned into an upper middle class hardcore, neo-goth, deconstructed club techno rave place filled with potheads and people doing lines of coke...pretty fun and interesting lol. maybe if i'm rich enough to spend hundreds of dollars to make me smell like the coolest mf in an underground rave i'd mindlessly drop my cash for this and bathe in it obnoxiously

smells like a leather jacket/shoe and wood left out in the rain for a day or two.

personally, i do not understand why people would buy it. but if u like those types of scents. go for it

Have to be in the right mood for a leather fragance, but this is the best one I've come across. More nuanced and better balanced than Ombre Leather imo.

jannor

First off; Do not compare these two perfumes by memory.

Ombre Leather is one of my favourite perfumes and I am very familiar with it, but I hadn't used it in a few months.
Then the strangest thing happened when I bought Tuscan Leather. It smelled exactly like Ombre Leather except for a fruity and weird scent if I smelled it up close to my skin(which is wrong ik). It was so similar in fact, I figured I've wasted my money and could just sell TL for a loss. I assumed this smelled exactly like OL for about three days before I picked up my OL and smelled it from the cap. This is were things get kind of strange;

OL did not smell as I remembered it. In fact it was TL which smelled exactly like what I remembered OL to smell like. After trying OL again it had an addition of "80s'90s' power house" without the power and the jasmine was way less noticeable.

I did not smell them side by side on my skin so there was no TL interfering with my new experience of OL or vice versa.

If you smell these two make sure they are side by side and not by memory because it might play tricks on your mind. And take note of the reviews here who does!

I have come to dislike leather in perfume,

however,

this perfume does it for me. A little bit of gasoline, suede-like leather and a hint of raspberry. My first depiction of this scent was thinking it was Tobacco Vanille fused with Ombre Leather & I still get that vibe.
Lasts ages and performs like a beast. My signature scent in the dry Autumn in Australia

doodoomizer

Ok leather scent

benlippi

Mine does not smell like cocaine unfortunately. What I get is a smokey raspberry leather scent. It’s good. Decent performance nothing crazy. If you hate the smell of cigarette smoke then avoid this.

viewedfromolympus

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING DOING COCAINE AT ANY POINT IN YOUR LIFE, TRY THIS FRAGRANCE FIRST. THEN COCAINE WILL ALWAYS SMELL LIKE TOM FORD TUSCAN LEATHER TO YOU, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. TRUST ME IT'S BETTER THIS WAY

sonny35

Great leather fragrance it's between this and bvlgari azaran for my favourite leather. If you don't mind beeswax, tea note and plenty of high quality saffron definitely give azaran from bvlgari a go as a step up from this one. I've heard new batches of this aren't as bold as the old ones.

yhamthebomb

I have a 99% full bottle of this I'm willing to trade. Shoot me an offer.

Gpetitg

The imposition of the Lyral ban has profoundly impacted this creation, casting a stark shadow over the essence of the once-celebrated fragrance.

Dior Sausage

This has completely changed from when I first smelled it. It's literally like an entirely different fragrance. The cocaine smell has 100% gone. It's a tame watered down soft light fruity raspberry/floral smell. I loved the harsh smell of the OG and the cocaine note. It was masculine and mysterious and smoky. They've absolutely butchered this. I'm not sure when but my last bottle was from 7 years ago and my latest is from 2023. Does anyone know if any of the clones have that coke note? That's what made this interesting.

LEATHER WHERE FROM?... FROM TUSCANY, OF COURSE!

When produced in Tuscany and designed to resemble the earthy texture and grain of goatskin on a bovine hide, you can name this type of leather after its region of origin. Tuscan leather is naturally shrunk to achieve a smooth surface and with a slightly grainy finish. The final raw material is soft, attractively scented, and conveys an overall casual aesthetic intended for some expensive fashion designers and their customers' pockets. The raw leather, after being carefully selected, is separated into two types: the glossy surface part is called "full-grain leather", while the part underneath is called "crust". The leather is then finished by tanning, and the process can be vegetable, chemical, or a mixture of the two.
On any daytime tour in Florence, when you cross the markets of San Lorenzo or of Piazza Santa Croce, you can notice an intense smell of leather around the stalls. The displayed items' attraction is quite compelling. After smelling this street perfume, we feel the need to bring home at least one leather souvenir of our escapade in Florence. Since the early Renaissance, this perfume can be smelled distinctly in the streets of Florence, especially in the stands near the Arno River, but also in Pisa where this art flourished even before Tuscany became renowned for its Medici bankers and Renaissance art explosion.
The leather tanning activity was known in Tuscany already at the time of the Etruscans, who populated the coastal areas of the Italian peninsula before the Romans. A decisive development took place in the Middle Ages, especially in the Republic of Pisa. The art of handcrafting fine leather goods was originally developed in the 12th century in this city, mainly due to easy access to raw materials from the extensive cattle breeding in the region, and the ease with which local merchants traded with Sardinia, Sicily, Iberia and the Maghreb.
In the 15th century, after the conquest of Pisa by Florence, a lot of money from the banks of the wealthy Florentine families was invested both in the tanneries around Pisa and in developing the manufacture in Florence to which part of the production was transferred. The Florentine leather goods industry concentrated in a specific area of the city between Piazza Signoria and the river Arno.
Five centuries have passed and Tuscan leather craftsmanship has always been able to meet the growing demand, both in quality and quantity. Today, the Florentine Tuscan leather district has a turnover that represents almost a third of Italy's leather goods production. It is characterised by the high level of handcrafting, the flexibility of the materials and also by its unmistakable smell.

The challenge Tom Ford has solved with "Tuscan Leather" is all about the leather smell. It combines virility with delicacy. It's bold enough to define a strong attitude, yet elegant enough to attract rather than repel people.
As a scent, the leather note is defiant. Its aroma polarises in two main directions:
- That of bold, raw, dark leather. It reminds us of skin ripped from an animal carcass. It has a smell we associate with the bitter aroma of a biker's jacket, doused in burnt oil and exhaustion smoke.
- That of soft leather, almost suede. It's smooth and smells like a high-end ladies' handbag, which spreads its aroma through the duty-free shops of any international airport.
Most leather perfumes tend to fall into one of these two categories. It's rare to find a scent that is somewhere in the middle, but Tuscan Leather is one of them. It has the nuts and boldness of a raging bull and the sophistication of a Louis Vuitton handbag. As a perfume, Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather solves the eternal dilemma of the modern man who wants to smell wildly virile, and still be elegant enough to join the marketing presentation with the customer's CEO or go to a fancy dinner with the girl he wants to marry.
What about market competition? Besides the existence of some very well-blended clones conceived by other houses, Tom Ford also launched "Ombré Leather" in 2018, a more economical variant of the "Ombré Leather 16" launched in 2016 and less expensive than Tuscan Leather. Which one smells better? Which one performs the best? Which one is the better choice?
"Tuscan Leather" opens with a rich note of quality leather mixed with saffron. The perfumer has innovated by also including a dark and velvety suede note, sweet drops of raspberry juice and a velvety resinous background. The tenuous balance between sweet and sour, or between softness and sharpness, is perfect in this perfume. Tuscan Leather is a fragrance you may use without any risk. Although many deservedly describe it as harsh and energetic, it is also very civilised and well-behaved. Performance is noticeably better in Tuscan Leather than in Ombré Leather.
"Ombré Leather", is actually closer to "Godolphin" by Parfums de Marly than to Tuscan Leather. With the Parfums de Marly fragrance, it shares the notes of jasmine, moss, amber and leather. It exhibits a dry and penetrating dark scent. It is earthier, dirtier and actually closer to a sweaty biker's leather jacket than Tuscan Leather is.
Which one smells better? It really just depends on your personal taste. In my opinion, they are reasonably different and both smell divine.
Where and when to use it? Tuscan Leather works best in cold weather and is very versatile for social events. You can dress very smart, completely casual, or anything in between. It really does suit any occasion. You'll probably just have to avoid wearing it on the beach or in the gym. Tuscan leather and hot weather don't mix. A handful of whiffs followed by a walk through the city centre in temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius will just make you heavy, cloying and will make you feel sick.
Good for what age and gender? The perfume can be considered unisex although it leans more towards a masculine side. If you're in your teens, wearing Tuscan leather will be like wearing your father's suit. You'll smell good, but everyone will think the fragrance doesn't suit you. Tuscan Leather fits any age above 25. By then, you will probably have finished university and obtained your first "real" job. Being over the age of 25 suggests that you can probably also buy Tuscan Leather with your own money.
Will you receive compliments? Both genders usually like this scent, but it is mostly loved by men. It creates an aura of masculinity and toughness, and many people will be shy to compliment you on the fragrance.
Could this fragrance be improved upon? From the first spray till dry down, Tuscan Leather presents a fairly linear evolution. Whatever you get at the opening is a good prelude to what you get throughout the scent lifespan. I would certainly like a more exciting development.

My opinion: "Tuscan Leather" is expensive but remains probably the true leather scent market combination of being most versatile, easy to please, well blended and performant enough for any situation. It's difficult to hate it. To love it or just to like it, depends only on your taste.
I don't advise a blind purchase due to its price and also because every leather scent is challenging and should be tested before committing to a credit card transaction.

Well, Ive kinda dogged Tom Ford over the past few years. But, I was at Saks and sampled TF Tuscan Leather and I almost immediately knew I wanted it.

If you’re looking for a leather fragrance that doesn’t venture into something that doesn’t go with leather, that smells well blended, that seems luxurious, and smells high quality, thus is it. Performance is very good.

weazal

Applies smokey with dank vetiver. Strong and manly. Dominant note is unique, musky sandalwood never experienced before. Bold, dense, and complicated.

What leather there is is saturated in stale cigarette smoke. Warmth provides comforting, sexy balance. The fact it’s so well constructed makes it funny how it’s more scummy oud than classy. Not sweet, but bold enough to do something different.

May grow on me, but first impression is it takes a specific type of funky dude to pull off that’s not me. Not bad, just distinctive. Rasasi “Shuhrah” has similarly strong oud, but is complemented with impressively masculine rose.

Chloerose666

Hate this with a passion, smells like an en suite at a retirement home

Someone walked into my office and actually asked 'why does it smell like an old lady toilet in here?'

I love Oud Wood, but this one is almost enough to put me off trying another Tom Ford altogether.

Smells musty and cloying and weirdly floral on my skin, its gross haha sorry!

iRankFragrances

I got this fragrance expecting it to smell like ombre leather, but it didn't. I like this one more. Its very strong tobacco and raspberry on the opening which is really strong, but usually after about 10-15 mins you start to smell leather that is really strong. It's like someone smoking a cigarette with a leather jacket on.

This fragrance is an occasion, but wow is it the best for some occasions. There is nothing I would rather wear to Vegas. This fragrance reminds me a high-stakes gambler who wins and wins. This is the fragrance of a winner. It makes a statement that you are a BADA$$. Not versatile, but no doubt worth getting if you can afford it (I can't). It is unfortunate the recent Rasasi batches seem to be weak because I would definitely get it.

9/10 - 1 point lost for price.

juliano_bamor_

Is it still a good option?
I found a 50 ml bottle, batch code A55(2015) is this a good batch or is it better to look for vintages?

BennyDelacroix

Ok ladies and gentlemen……Tom ford is ranked right there with creeds imo. This is SEXY and I don’t use or like that word very often this smells like sex but not with just anyone this smells like a great night a great day I wore this and I can’t even tell you the compliments I received and most important of all I enjoyed smelling it on myself ! I understand the cocaine comparison because this is addictive, It’s dark but light it’s sweet but dry/airy in nature this is not for the young nor the average person. This is classy yet all the things listed above this is to my nose a fresh natural raspberry wrapped in saffron, jasmine and a suede/leather jacket in perfect condition. 10/10 date night king, Club king, restaurant, lounge and etc I can think of more places you can wear this than places you can’t new top fragrance in my collection !!!

AkselSvEn

more classy ombre leather

Mjchaelj

This is much more interesting than Ombré Leather which is just clean basic leather. Ombré feels like getting into a new car with leather seats and Tuscan is like Johnny Depp at the Viper room wearing a leather jacket, smoking a cigarette while people snort cocaine in the background. The opening is sort of harsh but then the raspberry really smooths everything out. Classy but still very raw and edgy. Performance is great, I put on 4 sprays and could still smell it 14 hours after. This is fantastic.

The best. My signature scent. That’s all.

TWN2RBO

“Tuscan Leather got me smelling like a brick” - Drake. Yes, this is pure liquid art at its finest. TF managed to implement a slight cocaine note in this gorgeous leather fragrance. Has the slight DNA and leather note of Ombré Leather, realistic and raw, but not near as dark, heavy, or sweet. The raspberry lifts the leather up off the skin. I mean look at that note breakdown, that’s gangster. It’s lighter but oh so long lasting. This stuff lasts forever on clothes and for me, all day on skin. Yes, even the current molested Estée Lauder batches, like Oud Wood, Tuscan Leather is still beast mode, if you think differently, you got a fake.
I must say, this is in my top 5 leather fragrances of all time, and I would vote this to be in the fragrance hall of fame. It takes a little time to get to this level. I remember when Tuscan Leather first came out, I didn’t like it all. I remember saying to myself, “why tf would someone want to smell like coke?, this is horrible”. NO, this is pure art. Pure leather. It wasn’t until I put this on my skin and tried it out to see why everyone loves it sooo much. Tom Ford is one my favorite houses. So many bangers, I have 6 now. 10/10

croatus

This is the best pure leather scent ever created. It does have nuances, but they are either barely noticeable or participate in creating the core leather scent. If you want multidimensional fragrance with this scent, experiment with layering. I've already found my combo and it's that much better!

Ombre Leather is great, but heavy and has a more common, familiar scent. TL gives of more refined gentleman vibe while OM is just everyday guy smelling like high quality leather.

Lucky7z

My husband recently tested this and its a no for him lol in his words”it’s over the top leather and suede…it’s obnoxious” All he picked up was the leather note and nothing else but I could detect a little amber.

Sillage and longevity on him is a powerhouse lol a fulll 24hrs later we could still smell it.

Now imo if you really enjoy leather and suede based fragrances get this!

TWN2RBO

Purchased a bottle of this at Saks yesterday, sprayed it on this morning and it’s still going strong 8 hrs later. If anyone complains about longevity and projection with this scent, they got a fake, easiest way to tell. I have ombré leather and very similar leather note, but not as sweet and heavy. Tuscan leather is more raw and high end feeling. I love this scent, so sexy. Pure class.

Bizzy1995

As the name suggest this is a dominant leather fragrance. The raspberry is also present. Frankincense Adds a balsamic aspect to this. Not really my style but probably the most bearable/wearable realistic leather scent I’ve smelled so far

jbroadist

Really does what it says on the tin - intense leather scent, but more evocative of cigarette smoke to my senses. So masculine as to seem compensatory. I'm not picking up on any subtlety or complexity but perhaps it'll grow on me.

Doffstein

To dry for me. Misses a little sweetness imho. Smells sharp leathery as if you are in a shoeshop with 30 degrees C. For me Ombre Leather is the better leather parfum.

FranLuigi97

I wish I wouldn't have smelt this. I absolutely love it, from the start to the end. Sad that it costs 250€ for 50mL. Despite that, I'll probably end up buying a full bottle because it's just a masterpiece.

poloxx

A great musk accord but not what it used to be, beautiful raspberry ketones but anyone referring to the cocaine smell was lost after 2013...reformed... my bottle 2008 is monstrous, clean smooth harsh, a beast.....don't get me wrong.. its still good but i wont buy a new bottle... ill just save what i have.

NorthByNorthEast

Much more challenging than Ombre Leather. Initial sharp raspberry blast that fades fairly quickly to something more subtle. Also a sharp tobacco note that I don't see listed. The leather note is also fairly sharp and full. It all softens and blends and becomes more woody and sweeter with a background floral note. I also get a hint of cocoa and even a nuttiness that is also not listed.

I think Ombre Leather is much more soft and wearable. More unisex. It will garner more compliments. But if you want to to be challenged and perhaps have something more assertive and dare I say masculine, Tuscan Leather is the better option. I think some of the negative reaction by some is smelling those sharp beginning notes, perhaps on paper where they jump out and stick around more. On skin it softens and blends well into a lovely primal scent.

scenturian

Imo the best leather perfume ever, currently wearing when I am writing this review.
Very niche. Very luxurious.
Performance: Nuclear plant.

10/10

TWN2RBO

This liteally smells like cocaine. Not that normal people know what that smells like.

Devved

Fruity, smooth, well done suede leather. Pretty much a crowd pleaser. It is really good of course! But at this point, considering the price and Tom Ford`s ombre leather`s, and all the other leather perfumes on the market, is it a must have? I`m on the fence on this one. As a woman who loves leather fragrances, the raspberry note didn`t wow me away. Nevertheless, this delivers and smells expensive.

Alex771

This is the best leather fragrance of all time. the mix of leather, suede, and a little bit of sweetness makes this a masterpiece. I dont think there would be any leather that is more unique as this one is. All the other leather scents are mixed with a lot of notes that damage the pure leather lovers. ombre leather is also amazing tho.

Msc1977

Of all the leather fragrances out there, TF's leather/suede accord is by far the best.
Isobutyl quinoline and suederal, safranal (saffron/suede) with alpha and beta ionones, (violet) with raspberry ketones... Mmmmm

Acqua di Parma leather is on par. Very different but a great leather as well.

I can't stand the "Russian leather" type leathers, birch tar driven.

ginandrice

All the notes here are the smoothest, most suave versions of themselves.

Leather is front and center, supple in a way that almost feels chewy. It’s backed up by the sweet fruitiness of raspberry, which is soft but distinctly present. And I also get a slight smokiness, but in a very smooth, light way.

The overall vibe is masculine and seductive. It smells like a smooth pick-up line that would be sleazy coming from almost anyone else.

Honestly, it kind of gives me lothario vibes. Or maybe it's the guy from one of the many, many Mob Boss AUs the internet has to offer. IDK man, I'm not into Mob Boss AUs or lotharios, but I'm into this.

Christos08

Leather fragrances are ten a penny these days I have a few such as stallion leather by Carolina Herrera, sellier by byredo, ombre leather, for me the best I have is stallion leather it lasts the longest and projects the best of the 3. I have tried Tuscan leather and tbh what's the point in paying that when I find ombre leather does the same job and is also in a cooler bottle

Rafa_cologne

I wish i coukd go back in time and grab myself a pre reformulation batch of this gem. My favorite fragrance and DNA of all time that i have ever smelled… lasts like 5hr nowadays and yes as the review below me says ombre leather parfum smells almost the same is cheaper and lasts longer so… 🙁

Im still in the hunt for an exact clone/inspiration of TL but made an extrait de parfum that has beast mode longevity and projection until then i wont rest…

PhysicsGuy13

Tuscan leather is a favorite of mine and if one of the best leather scents I have encountered. Unfortunately, the price of TL is constantly increasing and it was overpriced before. Ombré leather is similar and a way better cost/value ratio if you are looking for a leather fragrance from Tom Ford. I reach for TL over Ombré Leather probably 9 times out of 10, but many prefer Ombré Leather.

thee_argus

I think I just don't like leather fragrances personally, but if you do I feel like this is a great choice. The leather is so strong and realistic that it smells like skin (which is what leather is but you get my point)

Was gifted a sample and wore it just to test and it was hard for me to pick up on much else except the leather.

FragheadMo

One of the best leathers out there. A rich leather scent with some sweetness. Perfect for a winter night. I like this more than ombré leather, because of the complexity and the raspberry note. A masterpiece from TF.

9,5/10

BasharBdeer

smells great! you can definitely smell the leather with a fruity touch, However its very weak, lasts for 2 hours on my skin, also sillage is not that great unless you are hugging someone they arent going to smell it

dan99

love love love this!!!! This the BEST Leather Fragrance I have ever smelt. It may take an experience nose to appreciate it though as it is a little dirty, but to my nose its like an earthy notes that makes it that much more realistic. It reminds me of a more vintage style leather with better grain when compared to ombre leather which is more of what you think of when you smell most modern leathers. Ombre Leather has the jasmine note tuned way up and the scent is so much stronger & sweeter even though still very good but I have to be careful of the sprays because its a beast. Tuscan has the earthy notes, no floral notes to my nose, tuned up suede note, tobacco on dry down, and a feint raspberry note in the background. TL is more laid back and Cooler than its younger brother, but the younger brother is more versatile.

DariaFrancesca74

Pure, immense, triumphant, victorious leather, immersed in slightly tart notes of raspberry, suffused with saffron and enveloping and sensual notes of amber. Absolutely impetuous fragrance, impactful for decisive and strong characters. Undoubtedly a fragrance that leaves its mark.

DarthFragrance

This is the perfect leather fragrance in my opinion. I also consider Ombre Leather perfection, but sometimes I want the more dirty and animalic nature of Tuscan Leather. I would totally understand if Tuscan Leather was too dirty and animalic for some people, but for me, I like it. It walks a really fine line for me, if it was any dirtier or more animalic, I might not like it as much. I also have Godolphin, and while they are practically the same, Tuscan Leather is a bit less fruity and sweet while being, again, more dirty and animalic.

Tuscan Leather is a leathery, smoky, spicy, fruity, woody fragrance, in that order. A part of its dirtiness comes in the way of a cigarette type smell, but in a surprisingly good way. I absolutely loathe the smell of cigarettes, so this creates that accord in a miraculous way. There's just enough raspberry to give this some balance, I adore this DNA. Tuscan Leather, Godolphin, love them both.

I'm doing a side by side test today of Tuscan Leather on one hand and Maison Alhambra's Toscano Leather on the other, equal amounts of juice on both hands. The scent is exactly the same on both, not even a tiny difference. Even in the opening, it's identical. Toscano Leather doesn't even have a harsh or alcoholic opening and doesn't need 10-15 minutes to settle in or anything like that. Going into the mid and dry down, still no difference, exactly the same. The only difference is that Toscano Leather has better projection and longevity.

After a couple side by side comparison wearings, they change a little bit in the far dry down, and the dry down of Toscano Leather smells better. Tuscan Leather has more of an ash tray accord in the far dry down, and Toscano Leather smells more clean and smooth, like it didn't really evolve much past the mid. Both fragrances have the same opening and mid, but from that point, Toscano Leather remains fairly linear while Tuscan Leather develops a very prominent ash tray accord. This actually makes me prefer Toscano Leather because the mid is my favorite part. I actually think Toscano Leather improved on Tuscan Leather by keeping the best parts and removing the worst parts.

The dry down of Toscano Leather actually smells much better than Tuscan Leather. I'm having a hard time believing it myself because given the price point disparity, I would call bullshit if I read it, but I'm constantly comparing the 2 right now and it's like night and day difference. Toscano Leather is much better.

lafantaisie

If mysterious was a perfume.

SoupGod

I got a same a sample at Nordstrom and knew I had to get this although did not want to pay full retail. I searched for months and finally won a bid on ebay for what looked legit...ended up being a really solid fake. Sold my ombre leather and finally found the deal on fragrance.net for 310$ 100ml. Long story short the ombre leather does preform a little better and lasts longer on my skin but the tuscan leather just hits different. I'd give ombre a 8.5 and tuscan leather a 9, could last longer but worth all the bs I went through to finally get a legit bottle...this is just on another tier of unique, has a distinct sharp and bitter opening with a slightly sweet leathery dry down.

BB88

This does not smell badass. This smells like open ass. It smells like you get into a brand new Ferrari with a raspberry air freshener for like 30 seconds, and then the salesman says, "I'm sorry, this isn't in your price range, let me show you what is," and he takes you to the janky used 70s Chevelle with a full astray, maybe even with cigarette butts from the 70s, and butt-smeared leather seats that at one time might have been owned by your fat uncle. Pass.

chiragh

Started from the bottom (Rasasi)

now we're here (Tuscan Leather).

Rasasi is pretty close but potent & harsh.. TL is smooth & few notes are so wonderfully blended.

Comparing TF Tuscan Leather (TFTL) to MA Toscano Leather (MATL) right now. TFTL is on my left elbow pit. MATL is on the right.

Immediately upon spraying it is remarkable how close both are. I'd say it is 98%. What both frags are trying to approximate is the smell of a high end leather shoe store. Not a single leather shoe but the whole place, including the stock room. The scent both are trying to approximate therefore is not of leather itself but the scent of the offgases from the rubber midsole of the shoe, the glues used to hold the leather upper to the sole and the scent of the high end shoe polish used by these boutiques so the products are always at their presentable best.

As such, there is a terpenic chemical quality to the scent of both TFTL and MATL. By that I mean there is a strong everpresent smell of turpentine dominating but not overpowering the other notes. It's intoxicating the way gasoline or turpentine is. MATL's terpenic offgases are stronger and slightly harsher compared to TFTL which is smooth all the way. Comparing TFTL to Tom Ford's own Ombré Leather (TFOL), TFTL is sweeter because of the raspberry notes while TFOL smells more like a "black" leather shoe albeit a high end one. That's not to say MATL smells like a lower end leather shoe store. It doesn't.

Best worn in the morning to the office. I can't really imagine many situations where smelling like you just bought a new shoe would be appropriate. MATL seem to project more although both smell so similar and have such a strong odor it's hard to tell.

30 mins: TFTL seem to have pulled back a little while MATL is still not relenting in its strength.

1 hr: Both frags have lost their intensity in projection significantly. However, TFTL smells more concentrated and consistent while MATL seems to have developed a scent I can only describe as newly dried latex wall paint. This is the first deviation I've detected from MATL thus far.

1hr 30 mins: The gap between MATL and TFTL has widened. I feel this is where MATL has given up the charade. TFTL has remained consistent and linear in its blending albeit losing the intensity from the turpentine smell while MATL seems to be breaking down in a way you can smell the individual notes. I can tell they used Jasmine Sambac and maybe even ylang-ylang in MATL - church flowers - whereas in TFTL you can't distinguish that from the rest of the notes.

2 hrs: They're both back to smelling similar. It seems MATL just needed to get warmed up. Either that or TFTL has degraded enough that it is again in parity to MATL.

2 hrs 15 mins: Amazingly, one of the two is still leaving a sillage that I'm picking up on as I'm walking.

4 hrs: MATL seems almost spent but TFTL is still going strong. The consistency of TFTL is impressive. It makes the frag seem linear but this is such an intoxicating leather accord you don't really want it to turn into anything else. It has me excited to try out La Yuqaram Homme by Rasasi next which I heard was a nuclear mode dupe of TFTL.

5 hrs: MATL went down to a very lightly scented raspberry-scented amber. It's mostly amber now. No change in TFTL.

MATL completely gone by 5.5-6 hrs while TFTL hung around for 8 hrs.

nikaida

This scent is a more shameless Brokeback Mountain. Tom of Finland leather daddy vibes in the back booth of a dimly-lit bar. Layer with a rose+incense fragrance if you want to bring things a bit more butch lesbian (which I *do*). It is LEATHER LEATHER LEATHER on me and the first few hours of wear have insane throw, which then dies down to a whisper by hour 4. Great for a night out, but don’t expect it to last terribly long.

liam04

I was very surprised to hear such differing depictions of this fragrance here. To me, this is just Tobacco Vanille and Ombre Leather's child. Sweetness in here that is backed by a really clean, suede leather note.

LiterallyCan'tStopSniffin

I don't know what is better, this fragrance or the review by Cioraniada.

Cioraniada

You had a duel at high noon and you obviously won with ease - you then go at a saloon with your bandidos celebrate, have lots of drinks, there’s smoke, clouds of dust raising from the floor and a local prostitute that smells like strawberries and raspberries jumps in your arms.

That’s how this smells and it’s bad ass.

Bregondo

Masculine, exquisite, complex and interesting, strong, handsome, mature, dense and rich, macho but at the same time has a mysterious kind of vibe. Packs a punch in the few couple of hours of its lifetime. Long lasting. Okay for formal occasions, great for any occasions when dressed in an outfit consisting of a leather jacket and leather boots that looks clean and gentlemanly. Best worn in the cold and nighttime. Dirty and animalic leather but pleasant although not safe to wear as I can imagine that this can be off-putting to some. Leather note is prominent from opening to drydown. Sweet berry undertone on the opening that last for a good hour or so. This has a middle-eastern vibe, I can detect something powdery herbal in the base notes.

woomanmoomin

I've been sampling this and Oud Wood. I like both very much--perhaps especially in the opening, where both pack a particular punch. I probably like OW the more though, as it has a kind of dark ambience that I like, at least until the upper notes recede to expose a base that, though soft and still woody and classically masculine, is also quite forthright (with what I experience as a kind of charismatic, light, powdery-resinous detail) in a way that precludes me from describing the experience as dark. Tuscan Leather is perhaps rougher around the edges, but not much, and probably most fragrances would seem rougher around the edges than OW anyway. OW seems to me to be an ideal dressy scent for a cultured, perhaps mature man who is confident and successful enough not to need to impress upon anyone how confident and successful he is. TL evokes more of a palpable, slightly textural effect--in my head I imagine a mildly aromatic square of supple tan suede being worked into some lovely artifact by an artisan--and for me the noticeable (but by no means incongruous) raspberry note in TL not only complements the organic aspects of the leathery aromas but also makes a big contribution to what, at least in comparison to OW's darkness, comes across as relative playfulness. TL seems to me the less formal of the two fragrances, though neither is exactly casual. TL is probably the more versatile. It surprises me that this is a fragrance that some people find hard to wear. Perhaps that is partly a question of age--or perhaps people are overspraying this stuff, directly onto their skin. With fragrance, less is very often more.

The thing is, while I appreciate that many people would say that these are iconic fragrances--I prefer to reserve that label for the very top tier of titanic, historic scents, among which OW and TL, to my mind, do not belong--and while I like them both a lot, I don't find either dazzling. Perhaps I have become too familiar with their DNA from scents that have followed them. There is also the fact that these two are not intended to punch anyone in the nose like some less refined old-skool powerhouses. Still, although both perform well enough and smell great, I don't think that there's a strong argument for paying the exorbitant price for either. There are just so many fragrances out there and these two are just not that mind-blowingly good.

alexwebdesigner

Disappointed. I absolutely ADORED Tuscan Leather whenever I'd sprayed it in department stores.

Fast forward to a month ago - I purchased a bottle at full retail, and I can't smell any leather or raspberry. Just straight ashtray. Like, dusty, stale cigarette ash.

I'm shocked that the QC for these fragrances seems to be non-existent these days. This has ZERO similarity to the Tuscan Leather testers I'd smelled.

Max Metrik

I know that no everyone likes it, but to me it's one of my favourite fragrances ever. It's less safe than Ombre Leather, but that's exactly why I like it more. But I mostly wear it when I'm wearing black. Doesn't seem to work when I wear pastel tones (even dark ones).

Raul Claudiu

There’s no way you don’t get a boost of confidence just by smelling this. Compared to Ombre Leather this is sharper, more animalic and less sweet..I couldn’t say it’s a better scent in and of itself but it evokes that rockstar feeling better. I don’t know how much this smells like coke but it definitely gives you confidence like it 😜.

ina.rem

This fragrance truly needs air, fall air preferably, and time to fully appreciate its beauty. Upon the initial application, it can be rather overwhelming and intense, possibly too much. But here lies its secret – allow it to breathe on your skin, hair, leather jacket and it becomes intoxicating.

Yolis

this perfume smells like Patrick Bateman

Pointdexter

This jewel has been in my top 5 signature fragances since it came out. The quality of saffron and leather here is unmatched. You can trust those reviewers that conveyed the overwhelming elegance and sensuality of this juice. Disregard anyone stating that there are clones out there better than TL. It is like me saying I composed a symphony that its based but improves the 9th.

New formulations have not changed what essentialy is a myth and a solid reference in the top level perfume market. If anything I sense the raspberry and the smokiness a bit more tamed than in early formulations. To me sillage is not bad because I can smell perfectly when someone else close enough is wearing it. Longevity is 4-6 hours at decent density. All in all, still one of my top 5 fragances along so many years. Did I say that?

GloryRide

I had to rewrite my review for this, for whatever reason upon my first sampling a weirdly amplified sour sensation kept dominating my nostrils, yet after further sampling I experienced Tuscan Leather properly in a balanced way, go figure. Since then it has really won me over.

To me, Tuscan Leather is all about the leather jacket, carnal pleasures and thrills, one sniff of this and you're telling your missus "Get over here, we're gonna get high and you're in for the ride of your life..." This is a high-quality blend that tickles the senses and makes you yearn for that smell in your mind long after it's gone (Gourmandgurl888 described it in her review below very well.)
I can't comment on whether or not TL smells like unnamed illicit substances, but it sure is one addictive fragrance in a good sense.

This is to be worn for yourself, doing your thing without concerns about what people around you think. I can concur on many a reviewer's opinion that Tuscan Leather is an acquired taste, it divides opinions and you either love it or you hate it. Personally, I only learned to love it after multiple samplings, both on jacket and on skin.

I'd like to thank all of you here on Fragrantica for your suggestions for this on the forums, I won't be preferring other leather fragrances anytime soon.
Rock'n roll all Nite long! (and you know what I'm talking about...)

Edit after multiple wears:

The performance of the 2023 Tuscan Leather 30ml bottle I bought seems abysmal (batch AA2 22307), it's very weak and almost gone within an hour or two both on my skin and on clothes. I asked a female friend for her opinion on it, she said she couldn't smell anything and she was standing right next to me.

Honestly, to charge 155€ for 30ml of this is pure highway robbery. I admit I got fleeced even though I bought it on sale, I expected this to perform much better based on samplings. Eventually sold it off for 2/3 of the price and went for a vintage bottle (batch A48) which is sooo worth it.

As for the current Tuscan Leather, I'd recommend you save your money because the quality control is clearly not there.

Dpad95

smelled this on someone and loved it, tried it on myself and ehh, was very overpowering and strong and didnt smell at all like it did, maybe had to wait for the cooldown and bottom notes idk, definitely not a blind buy go try this before buying

freddielawry1

Comin' off the last record
I'm gettin' twenty million off the record
Just to off these records, 🥷, that's a record

ProjectionHunter

I was finally gifted this masterpiece. So happy to own it. Its brilliant, but, Rasasi La Yuqawam is better. This has a more organic leather smell, more dry and real. Rasasi has a more pungent synthetic leather smell with tangy rasberry, which I simply like better, and the performance is better too. Regardless, this will forvever be at the front and center of my collection, a real treat for special occasions.

FragrantArabian

Very powerful leather scent that is not harsh, once smelled, you will immediately recognize it is a leather scent. The animalic scent that accompanies it is extraordinary, it balances the leather and the amber scent. It will defintely turn some heads and will make people wonder who the hell is wearing that good ass perfume.
People will remember you as the cowboy guy who is swole as fuck and loves to smoke cigars in their free time.
Overall, would rate it a 9/10

Tom Ford tuscan leather smelling like a brick

osum54

One of the best or the best leather scent i've smelt, and i've smelt a lot of leather scents. Very rich and smooth, the opening is mostly leather but you can definitely smell the floral notes. The dry down is pure rich leather. Not a blind buy, but for sure should be on your list to try if you haven't.

sunnyviolets

What I imagine only the most chic of Parisians smell like, man or woman. Honestly a work of art. I thought people were exaggerating.

icecore

Smells amazing, but the performance on the new batch is so pathetic. Used 7 sprays, 2 behind ears, 1 on nape, 2 on collar bones, and 2 on back shoulder blades. My admin that sat next to me, no more than 2 feets couldnt even smell it. I always considered my BdC as my weakest frag, but TL and my Hacivat on the new batch is so much weaker. Not worth the price for the performance on the new batch.

LostSock

Nice to know about the Swedish fragrance conniseurs group, not sure why it's listed as a positive though, one of the weirdest pro's I've ever seen, and I've been on the This Smells Like My Vagina page.

Bearded_King

When I bought Tuscan Leather back in 2019, I let it sit on the shelf cuz when I wore it, the Leather was wayy too animalic without the sweetness of Raspberry. Now in 2023, I decided to give it a try, and for some reason, I get the Raspberry more than I do the Leather!

Don’t get it twisted, the Leather is still strong asf, but it’s riding in the backseat while the Raspberry is the ride. The sillage gives vibez of BIG DICK energy (from what I was told from women), but sniffing the fragrance up-close on skin is still animalic like a mf! It still projects with only 2 sprays and lasts all day.

All I did was let it sit for 2 years on my shelf in a climate controlled section of my room. My bottle is 4 yrs and 7mths old (batch A19). I luv the maturation of this fragrance and will use the crap out of it when fall & winter hits 😎 sheeew, just talkin bout it makes me wanna spray some on right now!

c0rtland

cocaine. still one of my favorites from TF and i still prefer this to ombre leather. wonderful. masculine and timeless.

sugarcane

Idk what a brick smells like but Tuscan leather smells amazing.

I can’t help but compare to ombré leather. I had ombré leather first. But ombré smelled too sweet for my taste. So I never pulled the trigger on trying out Tuscan leather.

BUT

It in my opinion is so much better. And it’s the og. Imagine that. I smell mostly leather, raspberry, Jasmine and thyme. It is a 10/10 on my book.

PaddyOhFraiche

The opening is beautiful with that raspberry and a chemical aroma mixture of a Peruvian winterland if you catch my drift. The drydown is very animalic which I was not a fan of. I have PDM Godolphin which I love and prefer over this as it's far less animalic and more green with cypress, mate, green notes & rose. The openings are identical. For TF leathers I prefer ombre leather 16 pvt blend which I have a flacon of.

OHLAWDTOMFAWD

Dont get much of the fruit accords. Of course leathery as the namesake indicates, but also fairly dry and somewhat smoky. I think the that mixed with the saffron almost gives off something akin to chili pepper, or some type of spicy green element. I can see people loving this... just not my particular cup of tea.

Papu88

I have a 2019 batch if someone is interested. Brand new sealed 3.4 oz

Treyshawn

drake has a song about this one

dissolved_boy

I read somewhere that TF Tuscan Leather smells and feels like getting into a Ferrari. This fragrance is dark, sensual, and luxurious. Strong notes of leather balanced with some sweet juicy raspberry. Here's an exercise for you, take a whiff of the best smelling leather item you own and focus on that final sweet note towards the end. That's what this fragrance is like. So damn good I want to by gallons of this stuff.

Zany-Geek

Tuscan Leather just smells of cocaine to me. Sounds weird, I know.

Gourmandgurl888

Omg how have i not written a review on this one! Firstly i am a woman and personally on me i dont like it but on a man??! IRRESISTIBLE. Easily in my top 3 TF fragrances for men, this is what i think of when i smell this:

One sexy man, is he husband material? No, is he boyfriend material? Maybe but he is the best one night stand you’ll ever have. All the Ombre Leather lovers can have their mediocre time in the bedroom but the real hedonists know this is really the one! It’ll be years after that night.. or two and you’ll think of him, you’ll hope he is doing well even though he ghosted you, you’ll occasionally think of him when you never thought you’d see him again but you secretly yearn to be with him one more night although you’re with a good man now, you want that bad boy, you want that wild crazy night just one,, more.. time…

This is earthy, ‘down and dirty; in a bottle but sophisticated too! This is what I think a young Matthew McConaughey would wear, cool, calm, collected but fun, intriguing. But also i heard some guys have this as their wedding fragrance so what do i know 🤷♀️ i think it could absolutely work especially in weddings in Tuscany lol

Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford is a nostalgic masterpiece that takes me back to the golden era of Tom Ford fragrances. It's a scent that encapsulates the essence of sophistication and luxury that the brand is known for. With every whiff, I'm transported to the good old days of Tom Ford fragrances when each creation felt like a work of art. Tuscan Leather's rich, leathery aroma is a timeless reminder of the brand's commitment to crafting fragrances that exude confidence and allure.

Zessly

Tuscan Leather will always have a special place in my heart, as it was the fragrance that pulled me into the world of perfumery, and is still a personal favourite of mine to this day.

In the opening is a large dose of fruitiness with a bit of saffron, leather and suede, followed by some smokiness that creeps in shortly after, but what’s truly remarkable is the gasoline-like cocaine undertone. It’s worth noting that this distinct cocaine note is only really noticeable when smelled up close, which in my opinion gives it a bit of an edge and keeps things interesting. As simply as I can put it; Tuscan Leather is utterly intoxicating to me, and I doubt I’ll ever grow tired of it.

As for the differences between old and new formulations, the newer batches have seen the fruity sweetness noticeably toned down with a slight hit to performance. Understandably, there are a lot of people who absolutely adored the more boldly sweet versions of Tuscan Leather who are not overly pleased with the newer batches, although I personally do not find the changes to be drastic enough that I would actively hunt down older formulations.

God triple damn raspberry aroma in perfumery, especially this one. Whenever I hear about a new fruity frag, I feel another raspberry based one coming! LOL

I have mixed feelings on this one, it is definitely unisex and leans feminine IMHO. I actually prefer Tiziana Terenzi Siene to this as it isn't as fruity and just comes across more masculine and the performance is much better with the Terenzi as well. I haven't tried vintage Tuscan leather but this is not the beastly legendary fragrance I expected.

Antonio Popovski

Hello guys, please tell me what you think about the newer batches? Am i wrong or this is not the Tuscan Leather I remember? To me it smells 95% similar to Ombre Leather. Please tell me your experience. Thank you

Bellarawr

Perfect. Gorgeous. Never been achieved before and never will be again.

ScoobyDooby

Way too smokey for me. Reminds me of my grandparents house and especially cottage (they used to be smokers). Fruity. Leather. slight Ashtray. Very strong scent that really lingers on the nose.

I really thought I'd enjoy this as I generally like tobacco fragrances but I guess I've found out I dislike anything resembling actually burning tobacco smells. I got a free sample from TF so I'll give it some more wear but I reckon this'll be more of a smelling fragrance than a wearing one. I'm gonna bring this sample with me the next time I visit the folks!

MSC99

It’s sophisticated and interesting and an absolute head turner, but in the end of the day it’s to intense and offensive for the surrounding and you have to be very selective and careful when using it.

Definitely not a blind buy (As most of Tom Ford’s).

hananiah

Warm smokey leather. A tad bit fruity. It smells like the leather of your car seat if someone is smoking inside the car

LeatherCouch

@Perpetual Collector
Obviously, you don't get it. Had you had experienced real manly leathery scents, you wouldn't have left this comment. Tuscan Leather is like a feminine Fahrenheit. If you say otherwise, your nose is broken or you are a hypocrite. Also, to the contrary of what people are led to believe by guys like you, Ombre Leather is actually more masculine than TL. Another reason not to buy this fragrance is its performance, which is atrocious nowadays. Forget the beast mode comments, which are made by people who have had this fragrance in their collection for some time now,and who have only experienced one leather fragrance, which hey, it's cool because it's Tom Ford and infamous and even Drake talks about it. How pathetic and shallow is contemporary lifestyle. And of course,my comment will be downvoted by such people, but for YOU reader, i hope my comment is food for thought and you get to JUDGE by your own experience. Not based on what the opinion of the masses is.

Perpetual Collector

Just a quick response to a disgusting review bellow:
This fume is made for an actual, real man.

JusttheFactsMan

#104 in my "Tour de Fragrance" of 250 scents in 250 days. After my test of the overpowering Ombre Leather EDP I was prepared to be repelled, but this is actually still very potent, yet much more appealing. It's not something I'll wear all the time, but I like it enough to own a small bottle.

NoMilkToday

TMOV Byzantium saffron, the same smell.

CMaingi

The has strong initial spray. The dry down had a strong leather with a blend of saffron and and jasmine. It’s a nice fragrance and lasts forever but to masculine to me. I’m going to have to sell this one not for me.

A week later and this is slowly growing on me. I love the subtle jasmine that escapes you

Kizzyb93

so this smells of cocaine apparently a friend who is a recovering addict got triggered when my partner wore this at a bbq and she even asked him to take it off. (
Tbh I don’t know what coke smells like but if this is what cocaine smells like I’d be an if this is what cocaine smells like, I’d be addicted to ….. all I can really smell is raspberry and suede… . I personally don’t get jasmine…. I know some people have said this is quite feminine leaning but to me I think this very much masculine. I personally wouldn’t wear it due to the fact suede tends to smell quite funky on me. But
I actually feel like this is something that someone in the rockabilly era would’ve worn that’s just the vibe I get

LeatherCouch

This is a unisex, female leaning leather fragrance. The fruity-leather reminds me of the skin of a female. If you want to experience real masculine leather, try Killian's Dark Lord or Acqua di Parma leather.

Robusto

I have a 2010 and 2018 bottle and can confirm there are a few differences between them. Right off the bat, they are nearly identical upon the initial spray but there is one huge difference.....the 2010 lingers for a LONG TIME. I can spray my 2010 once and leave the room for a few hours and come back to the room smelling like Tuscan Leather. My 2018 bottle....not so much. The 2018 has a more prominent saffron/raspberry note with a leather backbone upon dry-down while the 2010 is staunch leather with a hint of saffron/raspberry a few hours in.

The biggest difference is when you're half way through your day (4-5 hours in), the 2010 is still kicking teeth but the leather feels ashy....but in a good way. This is nowhere to be found in my 2018 bottle. I noticed this "ash" note in my 2012 Tobacco Vanille, too.

Out of the 200+ fragrances I own, Tuscan Leather has to be one of the sexiest frags I own. I'm currently wearing it to the office today (2010)!!!

goshawk78

That was a fragrance which was unique at the time, an innovator in leather fragrances.Years ago when i sparked enthusiasm in perfume, every time i went to a perfumery shop i sniffed Tuscan Leather and i found it extremely interesting , i had never smelled anything like that before! It was difficult for me to pin down whether i really liked it or not, but with every single time i dropped in a perfumery ,the more i smelled it, the more i liked. There was something in it that irresistibly drew my attention and i could not help but give it a sniff from the nozzle until i finally pulled the trigger one day and got it 😊
TL is the very definition of masculinity - Nighttime the bar, the bearded macho man dressed in leather jacket and leather boots, smoking a cigar and sipping whiskey with his mates.
Specific fragrance for specific situations, occasions, events etc.. Imo it cannot go as a signature scent.
I can only define that i smell quite clearly upon spraying and with my untrained nose jasmine and tobacco in the final stage that's prominent to me
Even nowadays batches are strong and potent.Performance is satisfying and longevity is great between 10/12hrs..I can still smell it on clothes the next day. I can confirm i get this kind of "mechanical" "factory" smell in the dry down that's been hinted at as some guys say, but in a positive way. TL is harsher and a bit more aggressive and is not as wearable as its cousin Ombre leather and that's the purpose it serves.
All in all another excellent creation by Tom Ford house that set standards and forged its name in golden letters in the perfume book.

tinsky61

Immediately likeable and pleasing scent on opening. Smooth leather and I’m not getting any animalic notes, perhaps because the raspberry has sweetened the top. Don’t think there is much more going on perhaps a subtle amber on dry down. Put it on 4 hours ago and still good projection. Would be very difficult to find fault with this. A yes for me.

ThisisSafari

Sad to say this WAS once a masterpiece! The new version has been re-formulated and lacks true DNA of Tuscan leather once was. The original was ruthless and unapologetic! It’s was sharp and intoxicating least to say!

The only was I can explain the New version to the old original is:

The new version: Is a small pony chewing on raspberries in a warm incense barn that is well
balance.

The Original : think of a wild stallion ruthless and unapologetic that kicks you in the face as you enter the room! It was sharp , intoxicating and alluring and that’s being modest.

Overall opinion I miss the original and can’t stand the new formula. I sold my new stuff and have one original left! I wish the would have kept the original as is and made another leather fragrance with the new formula and labeled is something else.

SmoothHomme

Great leather . Don't let anyone tell you anything about jasmine or thyme, it is only a Strong Leather with a barely noticeable raspberry. Superb Ego Scent, makes you feel like a Mafia Boss. 8/10

Zigf

It’s fun to have this in a collection, and I quite like it. But I’m not a fan of leather fragrances in general so I can’t say I’m in love or something. But I still think it’s the best leather fragrance on the market. Unlike ombre leather where all I can smell is strong leather. Raspberry note in Tuscan Leather does the trick, I believe.

pronose

The current reformulated version is weaker than before & less potent👎 not the same it used to be! Sorry but I don't like the current version!

magicalzebra

This fragrance is the love of my life. I first tried it at Sephora without knowing its name or anything about it, I've been trying some other perfumes and the sales assistant just gave me a piece of paper w TL on it without saying anything, and believe me when I tell you it was love at first smell. I never tried a leather fragrance before this and none I tried after TL would compare (including ombre leather which I absolutely despise). I went home with that sample stuck in my nose, I couldn't stop smelling it. It was honestly the most addictive experience I've ever had. It took me about two years to purchase a full bottle but I lived those two years in misery. I don't know what exactly attracts me so much about this fragrance but it makes me feel like the ruler of the universe whenever I wear it. It is a very powerful scent from the rich raspberry to the animalic leather. Despite my strong feelings about it I wouldn't recommend this to everyone, definitely not a blind buy. You either hate it or love it but I'd strongly encourage you to try it.

Nbebis

A very romantic leather! While Ombre Leather gives off a very confident, loud, bad ass aura, Tuscan leather gives off a quite more alluring and enigmatic one. This definitely belongs in the wardrobe of the charismatic and confident! The suede is smooth, smoky, a little animalic, and a little bitter but the saffron gives off a sweetness that helps balance the fragrance out. I also really like the fruity touches, they are sweet and sour and are not dried fruits, but they are not fresh ones either. It adds a bright contrast to a dark fragrance. One of my favorite leather fragrances!

rednose

It's alright, leaning on masculine. Woody with Middle Eastern vibes.

Alpha Tropical

A beautiful contrast of an animalic leather and sweet raspberries. This DNA has been immensely copied, however, the original stands out with it quality and depth. Tuscan Leather is a Legend!

Not for everyone and mostly disliked by women, but on a full black mysterious motorcyclist, this would be bloody sexy and be evoking Respect.

plihtyak

perfect

hokieguy95

Tuscan leather opens with strong suede and something reminiscent of musky vegetal green notes. As it dries down the vegetal notes go much smoother into a sweeter dark fruit note. If it wasn't for the extreme price tag I would certainly have this in my collection. I will have to settle for the Cremo Vintage Suede which has a similar profile and is 1/10 the price.

zaqr

Tuscan Leather is unique and enticing. I honestly love it but I wasn't sure how to feel at first impression, it's definitely a scent that needs to be revisited multiple times until you understand it's complexity. If you have a Dior Sauvage nose, you may find this quite strange and offensive, at least to begin with. The more I smelt it the more I began to like it, and I found myself constantly taking the cap off and giving it a whiff whenever I was near it.

For me, TL is a very sexy, sharp and masculine fragrance. I've grown to really enjoy the sweet fruity raspberry, thyme/rosemary and leather combination, there's a subtle smoky ashyness that lingers in the background too (in a good way). It's a strong scent and it has great longevity and silage, at least on my skin.

I tried La Yuqawam by Rasaci before trying Tuscan Leather and it left a horrid taste in my mouth. Sure, on initial spray you can smell a similar DNA (Fruit, herbal and leather) but it's very different in terms of quality. La Yuqawam smells like TL gone bad, it's synthetic and reeks of plastic Halloween masks. TL is blended to perfection and as it develops on your skin it mellows out and becomes smoother.

Tuscan Leather is reminiscent of Ombre Leather….only much worse. I had heard so much about this scent. I was hoping to really like it. I don’t. It’s very strange because I love Ombre Leather and this is very similar. There must be a few different notes that account for the disparity. After a couple of hours it became tolerable in the dry down…but I almost didn’t make it. Tuscan Leather was almost a scrubber for me.😢

frag_jpr

Not a fan. It has a kind of vegetation smell after a while.
Much prefer Ombré Leather which is just amazing.

miket67

This and PDM's Godolphin alternate as my favorite leather frags.

Both are wonderful, IMO.

Winther

Smells like someone poured a bottle of ombré leather in an ashtray. Not for me.

JasKiew

Pretty good, sweeter and fruitier, more feminine than TFOL. Lattafa Velvet Oud is similar to this and that is even beast mode. This is already very good longetivy. It's doesn't throw your nose off unlike velvet oud. I like it but it's not a love. Still prefer tfol to tftl.

mrhapppy71

Sweet leathery/suede smell. It is strong so I wouldn't go crazy on sprays. Gives me a headache when i sniff the cap for too long. :) Nice scent, I would give it an 8.

jellisunc

Finally adding an official 30ml bottle of this to the collection. Im sure that will last me many years due to the potency of the smokey raspberry leather

One of my all time favorites that still puts a smile in my face. Tom Ford almost never fails and this is a brilliant example of the house.

Syed Adnan Haider

Nice 😊☺️👍

Misterprofumo

A very nice leather fragrance, the scent opening reminds me of a old leather jacket , it's a rugged kind of scent then boom the sweetness of the raspberry kicks in and mingles with the leather to make this one sexy fragrance, this is one very unique scent, a great fragrance from the Tom Ford line..

Kevvy

I just purchased a Tomford Tuscan Leather perfume and received it today. Honestly, the perfume is very impressive. The perfume is very high quality. Its main scent is off course a leather. However, it also contains some wooden like smell in it.
At first when I applied the perfume, it has a top note of very sweet leather smell. However, about five second after applied, there is another smell which feel like a burned wood. After that it will show a very beautifully warm and rich smell.
The perfume is quite dense, and its smell also has it very own strong smell personality. At first, I need a little bit of time to adjust to the perfume, but it doesn’t take long before I can get used to it.
The agree that the price is quite high compared to the other brand, however I think its quality worth to pay for.
To rate this perfume, I would give 10/10 for the quality, 8/10 for the worthiness, and 10/10 for the impressiveness.

Patj1994

This is a masterpiece, plain and simple. 10/10, 15/10, 100000/10….the first time i smelled this my whole body starter tingling, bought a bottle on the spot.

Get your nose on it, trust me.

Tuscan Leather is, unsurprisingly, a leather-dominant scent, somewhat provocative at times and with interesting nuances throughout. It features a multifaceted leather accord, and is bold and high-quality, reeking of confidence.

TL opens with an unexpected raspberry note, bolstered by smoky leather. It reminds me of the smoky raspberry accord of Givenchy Hot Couture (despite the latter being sweet and much more feminine). It is complementing to perfection by spicy, ambery saffron.

As it develops, the leather becomes rubber-like, with the smokiness from the incense giving an almosr burnt tyre effect. Here it is dry, scratching the back of my throat, and woody notes creep in. There is a birch tar-like effect here.

At the drydown stage it settles, becoming smooth and (finally) suede-like. Spices enhance it beautifully, warm and rich. It is slightly animalic at this stage thanks to the slightly salty amber. It is smooth and dry, fading to a musky leather skin scent eventually. Sillage is strong and longevity is long-lasting.

TL is masculine-leaning - strong, even slightly aggressive, but is ideal for all leather lovers. Best worn in autumn/winter for evening wear. Extroverted elegance. 4/5.

brainbomb

Compared to it's more cold, metropolitan, biker suit-clad brother (nevertheless sweeter) Ombré Leather, Tuscan Leather is a filthy, raw, rural and pure leather scent that melts into an eventual pool of warm spices onto the skin. Total Sex.

Aleach0918

This is a fascinating smell. It’s soft and supple, yet industrial and aggressive all at the same time. The notes that dominate this fragrance are leather, saffron, and raspberry, in that order. These notes work together in a fascinating way. Looking at the notes you would think that the leather would be delicate and supported by herbaceous and fruity notes, but I get something completely different. To my nose, it smells like sweet leather, cigarette smoke, and gasoline. And I love it. Tuscan Leather is a cliche action movie scene where Jason Statham hurls a Molotov cocktail through the window of “the bad guys’” headquarters, slowly turns on the heel of his Cuban-heeled boots, and walks away while wearing a cafe racer jacket and smoking a cigarette.

Performance is excellent. 8-10 hours of longevity, if not more, with medium projection. It’s not a particularly versatile fragrance, although, if your personality embodies the scent, wear it to death and enjoy it.

Arber Cami

I have a recent bottle so this is my review : Tuscan Leather opens up dry leathery with a slightly fruity undertone, dry down is more suede, and the thyme is really dominant here giving it a grassy green direction. I was expecting a luxurious (for the price you pay), smooth and fruity scent, nothing of it. Buy 'Rasasi La Yuqawam' instead : nice raspberry, saffron and leather scent, perfectly balanced and waay cheaper than Tuscan Leather. Longevity is also way better than Tuscan Leather. Tuscan Leather is also criminally overpriced

jdfrag

Tom Ford's Tuscan leather is an uber-manly, and uber-offensive leather masterpiece. Tuscan Leather perfectly encapsulates the reason that Tom Ford is more of a niche house than a designer house. No designer house is coming out with fragrances that offend more people than they please the way that TF does.
To my nose, TL smells like an incredibly smoky, pungent leather, with touches of raspberry in the top notes, and almost no other notes which can be easily picked up.
With that being said, you can't be joe shmo and wear this fragrance. I'll never forget sitting in a cafe in Manhattan when this guy in his 60s came in, dressed in the most badass leather jacket with jeans and black leather boots wearing sunglasses with slicked back, long hair. He radiated coolness, and he also radiated exorbitant amounts of TF Tuscan Leather. The guy must have put on 8 sprays because the entire cafe reeked of it the second he walked in. Now, this guy is the type to say "f*ck you" if you don't like it, because he's ballsy and he doesn't care about what you have to say. On the other hand, in my opinion, TL is absolutely not to be worn by the faint of heart, or by introverts. Every friend I've let smell this said it reeks of cigarettes and old dying people.
One of the house's most notorious creations, hate it or love it, you have to respect it for its daringness, its offensiveness, and its confidence.

poloxx

i have the 2009 version of this, 30ml of 50ml, the cocaine smell of this was lost with reformulation maybe 2013 onwards. (2009) the silage is massive with the cocaine accord prominent, performance is monstrous medicinal harsh. I've smelt the newer up to date version on friends and can honestly say its........well its lost the cocaine and the beast.

a.kittilsen

As long as you dont go too close, then its so smooth and kinda sweet. But sweet like in oud wood. Not sweet like a gourmand.
As soon as you dig your nose into it, it smells just like leather.
It seems to me that it may be the reason it doesnt do good in tests. People stick their noses i to the test strip and they only get full on leather.

I really like this one. I think this would work well with a dark suit or a leather jacket.
Anything else would feel out of place

Rafa_cologne

I went to the tom ford local boutique i had and smelled it… wow it was wonderful a great leathery fragrance ultra refined and elegant, i dont have much of a review since it was only my first impressions… will be getting a decant soon to test it better but def one of the best smelling fragrances i’ve tried worth it !

I did pick up a similar smell to like ombre nomade specially bc of the raspberry both contain but i think i like this better have to test better for sure

yakup

Tom Ford Tuscan Leather smellin´ like a brick. This fragrance is beyond perfect. Easily the best leather fragrance I´ve ever smelled. While the price point is very high it is most definitely worth it. The performance you get from just a single spray is just crazy. Very masculine but might not be for everyone though. Great for the colder weather and at night. Highly recommend it!

felicecinque

I smell Cocaine.

Martin014

Such a complex fragrance, it starts with a strong leather but once time passes it is a more sweet leather. Impressive

Flared Maple

The opening is almost fresh, slightly grassy and herbaceous. After a few minutes the earthiness of the saffron really starts coming through.
Slowly it transitions to the smell of new suede. Like putting on a new suede jacket.
It dries down into a nice soft, ambery wood fragrance.
Surprisingly I can still slightly smell the saffron in the dry down, which is nice.
Its such a comforting fragrance.

Papu88

I have a 3.4oz brand new bottle sealed if someone wants it

Bettybotox

I can see the appeal but it's not for me. Thyme note is much too dominant on my skin and turns my stomach a bit.
Having said that, I would love to smell it on someone else where it works with their skin chemistry. It must be lovely.

scememory

Sour raspberry and leather / suede combo. Starts of sharp, but actually transitions ti a nice scent. Raspberry adds a touch of fruitiness and I smell it for a long time. Actually more wearable than OL for me.

hvqe071

This One and the ombre leather (and the parfum flanker) are one of my all time favorites. I remember not liking the tuscan leather when I was 14 and now I'm mature enough to love the leather and suede in these fragrances. Perfect for bike rides. I'd give it an A / A minus.

SbangDMV

I have a bottle available. Message me for inquiries if interested.

Reeper702

Amazing amazing amazing! I have around 100 bottles of fragrance and I always laughed at people having a signature fragrance because i always thought, "why would you limit yourself to just one?". But then i bought this and now this is all I want to wear! Of course it's all personal taste but for me this is a perfect 10 put of 10. I also wear it all year round even in the Vegas heat of 110 Fahrenheit lol

Zactel

What I am going to say might trigger some here, but tuscan leather and ombre leather are essentially very close fragrances. So close having both is redundant. Smell both and pick your favorite.

HarvestAngel

Imagine riding your Harley Davidson motorcycle to an opera.

I heard about this initially from Drake and as leather is my favorite type of scent on my skin I bought it blind. I don’t recommend buying blind. I do however rather enjoy it as a whole. I am not sure about the top of raspberries if I just don’t notice it or I’m reading other reviews mentioned a reformulation? I certainly get the saffron tho and jasmines in the mid. The leather is barely noticeable at first tho it’s not missing. It’s THERE but you’re noticing other things too.

Someone mentioned the burning itch in your throat after using cocaine, I can see that. The scent of cocaine, a little at first but not enough to say “oh yeah thats it!”

This is a really strong fragrance and does not have an impressive silage tho it’s longevity is impressive (about 8 hours indoors). It does what a high end fragrance should do and transforms. First from fresh fruity leather to warm smokey leather. Good leather, not like a car or sofa but handmade shoes from… Tom Ford. I tend to have a personality that is outgoing and witty even funny at times and the way this fragrance sits on my skin is enough to round me out and make me feel dark and mysterious. I love it, I can see why some don’t.

At nearly 400$ this one is for ballers only, most women I ask say they like it, the most important thing imo other than liking it myself. Wear all autumn and winter and maybe indoors during the spring. Don’t blind buy unless you don’t feel 400$ when you spend it.

Clauder13

After owning and trying many of the Tom Ford Private Blends, i must say this is probably one of the best that you could buy without mentioning the discontinued ones.
This is amazing and really well done and obviously smooth.
What you get here is simple Fruity Raspberry + Leather.
Perfect for all year round except summer.
If you like greener scents i'd go for the Intense one even tho this is a better scent overall.

tecfield

Another Tom Ford that makes me cough. This is a nice composition of notes. Somehow something resembles tobacco in it to my nose. It smells like walking to a bar where everyone has dusty leather jacket on, someone is smoking a cigar in the back and everyone is drinking a raspberry cocktail. Overall it is a nice scent with good longevity and silage. I happened to test Rasasi La Yuqawam next to this and although opening is very synthetic but similar; however, in dry down TL smells far far better. I guess you get what you pay for.
This is not definitely a blind buy.

New Car Leather + Cherry Car Freshener + Cocaine + touch of Amber

The fake cherry air freshener ruins it for me. He should have chosen a higher quality ingredient to represent the cherry. The leather is a new car/leather couch scent and is very strong! So strong, that one should consider mainly wear this during evenings only.

Strong, solid longevity, linear.

Ford's mind works where he wants to recreate scents that he experienced in some random extraordinary moment of his life. I can only imagine the story where this idea spawned...lol Slightly edgy. Sadly REFORMULATED with poor ingredients, and they removed the cocaine note.
This is also Drake's & Nas's signature fragrance.

As an Italian, I love leather! For Italians leather represents wealth, fashion, class, style and luxury.
Warning! Out of all the girl's opinion of this fragrance on me, not a single girl has said they like it, in fact. The leather used here is too industrial smelling, like a new leather couch just produced and the shipping plastic just removed on the salesfloor.
Because of this, i will never buy a bottle. Buuuuuut!
The superior alternative to Tuscan Leather i found in quality ingredients, longevity and with the legendary note of powdery lipstick Iris is the slept-on Armani 'Cuir Zerzera'.

Someone made a bonfire out of computers and pharmaceuticals. That’s the vibe I get, and it somehow smells incredibly good

10/10 per me.

michael.oliver

I really want to like this scent… but… it’s just… awful.

To all the naysayers saying “if you think this smells like coke, you’ve never tried coke” is utter BS. Yes this doesn’t smell like coke, (does coke even smell of anything)? It’s the gacky, scratchy back of the throat feeling you get by doing coke. This has that in abundance… and really not something that should be praised.

I, unfortunately, do not have the nose that many of you beautiful people have and I’m 100% sure I’m not picking up on some nuisances, but to my nose, I’m sorry, this is my absolute worst fragrance and given away to my, younger 26 year old brother, who, let’s say, will enjoy certain aspects of this more than this old, boring, grumpy git.

lapequenita

Smooth, round, smoky leather with fresh and sweet raspberry touch to it. Classy, sensual, leaning slightly more masculine, needs to be worn with confidence. Highly addictive. I like to layer it with Santal Blush to add some more warm and woody notes.

BootneyLee

No. It doesn't smell like cocaine.

And anyone who says it does has never had cocaine, or, most likely, someone sold them some raspberry kool-aid and told them it was from Columbia.
I bought a 10ml of this in lieu of the absurd asking price just to see what all the hype was about. I'm certainly not disappointed. It is spectacular. But immediately on first spray I realized that this is pretty much the same as Ombre Leather, which is in fact much cheaper and honestly, Ombre has a sweeter, darker, smoky undertone that really surpasses this one and makes it my preference. This is more of a formal scent than Ombre, mostly because of the woody notes, but still has that appealing raspberry on top. All in all, if you want the greatest leather scent ever, go with Ombre, because Tuscan is way overpriced and just doesn't perform the same.
Meanwhile, back to the search for Eau de Pablo Escobar...

ShaunMichael

Montale Leather patchouli smells WAY MORE like cocaine then this one. No comparison.

Lewshez2602

Tuscan is a power house of a fragrance, it’s ferocious and loud. One of my all time favourites! This is daring to say the least, its polarising and has been a love/hate affair with people from my experience. There’s nothing quite like it, it truly stands out- even the clones can’t match up. I guess that’s what everyone’s come to expect from TF private blends, they’re mostly unapologetically daring and I love it. This is bitter cocaine/burning petrol in the top with extremely rich, dark and animalic leather ripping through the heart, there’s spicy threads of saffron and thyme. The fragrance is slightly sweetened by a gorgeous raspberry note and slightly softened by pleasing suede. Them notes don’t at all drown out the fact that TL is nothing short of a hyper masculine monster! Do not blind buy.
10/10

orangelips11

I consider Tuscan Leather is the true " bad boy " fragrance, LOL

Smellmytramp

Smell of wealth and decadence.
Leather, amber and suede plus a hint of raspberry and flowery note (jasmine?) to soften the predominantly masculine vibe.
4 hours on my skin from a single spray.

BigLongNose

Tuscan leather smelling like a brick. This stuff smells like car seats with strawberries. It's better than ombre leather, although a bit more expensive

Moneybag6

I got samples of this, tobacco vanille, tobacco oud, noir de noir and oud wood. The only ones I liked was Tuscan leather, oud wood and tobacco oud. Tv was meh it juss smelt like something u would only wear for Christmas and I didn’t like noir de noir bc it smelt like I toned down version of black orchid which I also hated bc it was to female-ish(which I am a guy) out of the three I did like Tuscan leather smells super good, oud wood smelt good but is super suttle with little to no projection which is fine but for the price point it was a past, so tobacco oud and Tuscan leather was left. Tobacco oud is very very good also it’s juss for some reason the cinnamon note throws me off, but some ppl like that about it, not me tho. Tuscan leather is masculine but with some sweetness, guys TL is really really good

TK416

Fruity leather, can be overwhelming at first, so take it easy on the sprays. Once it settles in, it smells amazing to my nose.

Projects well, and lasts forever on the skin, 12hr+, and the dry down is a really nice skin scent.

Not for everyone, so I would recommend sampling before you buy, but for me this is a 9.5/10.

banksia

Imagine you're at a VIP club in the 80s, smoking massive cigars all night in a dark room sipping expensive spirits and doing bumps of coke off a drug lord's machete. That is what Tuscan Leather smells like.

Bold fragrance. Overwhelming leather and tobacco smell with hints of sweetness on the dry-down. And yes, like Drake says, this absolutely smells like cocaine - if you wear this at an airport don't be surprised if you get picked up lol. The raspberry balances it out nicely, but only appeared to me a couple hours after spraying. I really like this fragrance but it is definitely not for everyone.

Carlitos

The challenge Tom Ford has solved with Tuscan Leather is all about the leather smell.
As a perfume, Tom Ford's Tuscan Leather solves the eternal dilemma of the modern man who wants to smell wildly virile, and still be elegant enough to join the marketing presentation with the customer's CEO or go to a fancy dinner with the girl he wants to marry with.
What about internal competition? Besides the existence of some very well-blended clones conceived by other houses, Tom Ford also launched Ombré Leather 18 in 2018, a more economical variant of the Ombré Leather 16 launched in 2016 and less expensive than Tuscan Leather. Which one smells better? Which one performs the best? Which one is the better choice?
Tuscan Leather opens with a rich note of quality leather mixed with saffron.
Ombré Leather 18 is actually closer to Godolphin than to Tuscan Leather. With the Parfums de Marly fragrance it shares the notes of jasmine, moss, amber and leather.
A handful of whiffs followed by a walk through the city centre in temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius will just make you heavy and cloying. It will make you feel sick.

My opinion: Tuscan Leather It's expensive but remains probably the true leather scent market best combination of being most versatile, easy to please, well blended and performant enough for any situation. It's difficult to hate it. To love it or just to like it, depends only on your taste.
I don't advise a blind purchase due to its price and also because every leather scent is challenging and should be tested before committing to a credit card transaction.

Music: An Officer and a Gentleman "Up Where We Belong" by Joe Cocker & Jennifer Warnes

seekritdude

Sadly more and more this seems like it maybe a casualty of Covid for me. Its been almost a year since I first had covid and ive heard once you make it a year, thats the sense of smell that you are left with. And sadly since covid, the main thing I get out of this now is just the olibanum a strong not disgusting but not pleasant frankincense. The raspberry leather is basically gone now, and if anything besides the now over powering olibanum I get a sorta.... Dentist smell.. Like when youre at the dentist and if you need to get a filling or something like a kinda dentist office getting a filling smell? I dunno...

Man... I got a month or so left but a bummer. This used to be one of my more favorite "vibe" sorta fragrances.. And now it seems like something I cant ever imagine wearing. Which is even worse since I have a back up bottle lol. Fuck me.. Oh well...

dalkey

There is something disturbing and nauseating about it like you spilled gasoline on yourself, and you feel like washing it off to get rid of this strong chemical smell.

z4nza

This smells like thermal water.

Nate_915

This is masculine, luxurious, and rugged at the same time. The opening is an ashy, almost smoky leather. This smooths out more in the dry down and the raspberry note gives it a touch of sweetness. I don’t get the raspberry as much as others seem to. Naturally, I love to wear this while rocking a brown leather jacket in the fall, but love it in a suit as well. This lasts a long time on my skin, but I only get seemingly moderate projection out of this. It sits closer to skin than this profile would suggest. I’m guessing a lot of the “strong” projection votes this one got came before it got reformulated.

EDIT: I recently got a 2014 decant of this and wore it on one arm with the 2021 bottle on the other. The newer batch is a bit softer and the raspberry is a lot more pronounced now than it was in the older batch. That fruitiness takes a little of the edge off.

mizur

I really like this perfume, I get the leather (a lot of it), I get the woods and the spices, and I get some ambery accords… this is a creamy subdued and a bit more mass pleasing Ombré Leather.

I understand why Tom Ford would keep TL in it’s roster after launching OL, the first is a lighter and creamier perfume, which would obviously represent additional sales from those who can’t stomach OL but still want to wear Tom Ford’s leather… but why would a regular user, one that actually likes the accord, want to buy it?

Speaking for myself, I purchased it because I collect perfumes, and I don’t mind having similar scents… but why would a non collector buy it? They’re not distinct enough to merit having the both… there’s enough leather in either to make them off-putting for those who don’t like the accord… so what good reason could there be to buy Tuscan Leather when you can go straight to the powerhouse Ombré Leather is? I mean, one has to be unapologetic about wearing Tom Ford’s leather, not try to rein it in.

All of the above said, I love this scent, and if Ombré Leather didn’t exist, this would be my favorite Tom Ford’s leather perfume.

Longevity is super long, projection is moderate.

Trustworthy44

Magical smell but with poor sillage The smell of raspberry that is placed in a cigarette holder. The saffron of this perfume has made it feel leathery. And the smell similar to tobacco has made it addictive. This perfume is designed for the skin and has the least longevity and sillage on clothes. Stereotypes about sillage and longevity of this perfume are not true... The distribution of this perfume has become a victim of its royal smell. Its longevity is good, but longevity will never replace sillage. This perfume was made by two French perfumers. (General information)

Let's tell the truth and avoid gossip.

Silage: 4
Durability: 8

This perfume is absolutely foul. It smelled like burnt plastic to me and I thought I was hallucinating, but my friend told me that I did in fact smell like burnt plastic. Thankfully I got this as a free sample lol I can’t imagine dropping 300 dollars on this burnt plastic trash

Thatbwoy

I like this after two hours.

Before that I cannot take this, it smells like Hyacinth Bucket’s handbag. No way is this better than Ombré Leather and Gucci Guilty Absolute is soo much better than this, also the leather note is far more masculine, smells like a leather jacket from the 80s. The leather note in this does smell like a ‘leather’ handbag, one bought from Wembley market.

I’ve had a change of heart I was going to get rid of this but chose to wear it again.

I oddly prefer it over Ombré Leather

I suppose my skin chemistry is very different from most, because this is smooth and sweet and silky on me. The opening is a dry leather, raw almost. Think, leather before it's been cut and stitched and turned into a wallet/shoes/chair. Just a large sheet of hide in the sun. Immediately after that I get blasted with Jasmine, not an overly sweet jasmine or really "bright", but a dark, humid jasmine. I don't get cocaine at all (and I'm neither admitting or denying I'd know what that smells like). For the first few hours it stays linear, lots of raw leather and heavy jasmine. I could almost see this working on a mild spring or summer night--or, if you're very light on the trigger, during the day. The drydown gets a bit more ambery for me, and I swear there's a hint of tobacco.

Spray this on the skin. On the clothes, I get an almost cigarette like ash, and none of the jammy sweetness that makes Tuscan Leather so interesting.

I don't find this scent difficult at all. It reminds me of hot humid summer nights filled with thunder and night blooming jasmine. There is a heaviness to this fragrance, but in my mind it reminds me more of humidity--whereas the heaviness in something like Tobacco Vanille, e.g., reminds me of colder weather.

Longevity is decent for a modern-day Tom Ford. My 1 week old 30mL bottle gets about 6-8hours. I expect this to rise a bit as the bottle matures, as I've found with all my other Tom Ford's that have a 2021 batch production date. Someone at Estee Lauder clearly decided to cut maceration times short to combat COVID supply chains I'm guessing...sigh.

All in all, a very unisex, dark, but wearable scent. I could imagine someone with high cheekbones and tons of confidence pulling this off as their daily scent. It reminds me of the scent equivalent of pairing a delicate linen outfit with chunky black combat boots

Turtle747

I guess I couldn’t get past the smell of cocaine. It made me really nervous and paranoid so I washed it off. I guess I’ll stick to ombre leather.

Таня_х

I’m shamefully late to the party.
I’ve always disregarded Tuscan Leather due to the fact that, according to popular opinion, it is a more masculine and challenging scent.
Not until I accidentally tried Black saffron by Byredo, which is a TL inspired fragrance, as I’m sure many of you know. I really liked it, but it seemed quite soft in terms of projection and overall performance, so I decided to order a sample of Tuscan Leather and see for myself how “challenging” it is.
Well, I got my sample and placed an order for a full-sized bottle on the very same day. It is now in my top 5 fragrances. Enough said.
I think there’s no need to mention anything about the scent itself, there’s nothing I can say that hasn’t already been said. Also, I am pretty sure it is more leathery and screechy on a male skin (so I see why some of the gentleman can’t picture it on the opposite sex), but on me… it’s pure heaven. All notes are in perfect harmony.
It performs really well and I’d say that it’s perfectly unisex.
I love it, especially on a night out.

The greatest. That raw, dry leather opening is stunning and, whilst others do a good job (Godolphin, Aoud Leather...) Tuscan Leather remains the pinnacle. A sharp, almost acrid leather opening calms over time, becoming more “new car interior leather” -- smoother with a hint of sweetness. However, it remains powerful, radiating from your skin.

in 2007 Tom Ford stepped into the Perfume world, he was hungry and unsatisfied. Tom Ford thought what the world needed was a perfume that smelled like pure uncut cocaine, so he released Tuscan Leather. A smoky leather jacket smelling like rasberries and enough cocaine to land you in jail for 3 lifetimes and people went crazy.

Discoyak

I fell in love with this when I first tested it in the store, mostly thanks to the opening cocaine note. After purchasing it though I have mixed feelings. The smoky leather smells lasts for hours if not days, but much like Armani Code it becomes quite opaque and synthetic. I'd expect a $380 (AUD) fragrance to have a bit more complexity.

Milgauss

Like some have noted, the top has an incredibly strong cocaine note.

I couldn't place it at first, but after reading about it, there's no doubt about that stinging, bitter-sourness, that enters your system together with burnt spring leaves.
The top of Tuscan Leather is the most acrid entry a fragrance has ever had, into my nose. This is as far from a blind buy as it gets.

Once that subsides, you're left with what you came for in the first, place: a very rich, mildly sweet leather smell. A couch that has absorbed decades of exquisite pipe tobacco smoke.

I love this fragrance, but do yourself a favor and do not, under any circumstance, blind-buy this without a testing quantity first.

Before I got to this fragrance I've tested Godolphin by PDM, which didn't last long on my skin so I went and tried this one.
It opens with a strong blast of leather, like freshly dyed leather.
20-30 mintues later it settles to a soft raspberry scent that lasts literally forever. you may not notice any leather while smelling your own wrist but It still radiates long after that.
I get 2-3 hours of projection and then it becomes a skin scent for another 4-5 hours.
Imo the best leather scent out there.

This is so good! I actually disliked Ombré Leather, but loved Tuscan Leather. I also liked Godolphin, but Tuscan Leather is really even better.

ILikeSmellingNice

I have discovered that if you layer Diesel Fuel For Life and Ombré Leather you get almost tuscan leather.

PerfumeHater

Great scent.
Longevity is not very good.....maybe my bottle is from a bad batch.

evertonnick3

This is a beautiful fragrance. Truly iconic. This made leather scents cool. As great as it is, I would recommend Tom Fords Ombré Leather parfum over this. I has a big similarity, but quite a bit smoother.

Yalcin05

That raspberry is to die for! Even tough it’s not as strong as it used to be.. this is an amazing trendsetter in the world of perfumery. Some will say it’s close to ombré leather, but that’s not true. The saffron and suede accords might be close, but where ombre leather keeps bright, Tuscan leather keeps intense. The raspberry fades a bit way after drydown and there is the dark leather with some warm amber notes and a little bittle fruitiness still left. Drydown is definitely unisex! The mid has nuances of godolphin, suede et saffraan Nishane and ombré leather but that’s it.

So still unique specially in the air.

To my nose it’s smells like a mix of smoked tobacco, cocaine and leather. It’s mysterious and complex, rich and inviting. It’s a confidant person who wears this fragrance. THIS is what I imagine Johnny Depp smells like.
Love it!

Trishaaa

This to me is so sexy oh my god. Reminds me of a guy who is very rich yet very protective of you if you're ever in their company but still laid back at the same time. They're a little mysterious yet unique and likeable. It feels exclusive in the sense that you're a VIP somewhere high end. I don't even know how else to phrase it lmao.

This to me feels quite unique and more masculine leaning with the potential of it being unisex although I'd strongly advise sampling it first to get a feel for it regardless of gender. I love this but I wouldn't consider this a mass-appealing scent. It lasts quite a while too which is nice to see.

Mr.Owl

I love this so much. I wish I could smell like this all the time. I got a 5ml decant and I am afraid to run out. I might actually pay full price for a bottle,it is that good.

tr_bg

I am thousands in debt, I put Tuscan Leather on and now I feel like I am richer than Elon Musk thats how it smells like

stalal

It smells like sand in the air (and in my nostrils), very much what I find in most Memo Paris perfumes (Italian Leather mainly). I am happy I didn't blind buy it. I do believe Ombre Leather is nicer for me from Tom Ford.

On a second thought, this sand note i notice in perfumes, is it what some people find it cocaine like note?

The Magician

Contrary to the popular notion that this frag is masculine, it is indeed a true Unisex material. Under scrutiny I found out that the opening and the mid is male but the dry down is female. Then I chance on to watch the review of fragrance bros in YouTube and they said this “transition” thing from masculine to feminine… I think this all unisex style of TF is mere laziness so that it can cut cost - so why create one for man then one for women if you can use the ticket of unisex

The leather is impressive though, it’s the luxury car interior. But then it could be a fragrance for men but TF chose to destroy it by playing safe under the umbrella of “unisex”

There’s this playful naughty note that no one wants to say in media and I’ll say it here… there’s a musky sour almost like a sweat note at the verge of naked sensuality…. That sour note smells like horny “v*gina” and I’m Not kidding…

So it’s luxury car leather, raspberry fruit, smoke with dust of chemical notes (the cocaine note) with horny “v*gina”

Who ever the nose is must be very talented for adding a naughty note…

So there you go…. Honestly, this will be my last bottle bec I hate the unisex genre. I’m a man and I only wear fragrances created for men.

ENP Hunter

I have a sample of this, and while I do like the smell, I would never actually wear it. It smells like raspberries and cigarettes. I’m actually so shocked that no one here is talking about how much it smells like a smokers car that I am legitimately concerned that my sample is bad or something. If anyone else gets that vibe and have tried ombré leather, I would love to know if it has that same problem.

NOSEYBODY

On its initial spray it smells like Cocaine. What creates that nuance are the Leather & Suede notes blending with the natural Leather nuance of the Saffron note.

Before those notes seamlessly blend into a single Leather accord they give off a chemical like scent very reminiscent of Ethyl. And thats what creates the phantom scent of Cocaine.

As it begins to dry down you begin to pick up on a very authentic Leather that smells more like an expensive Sofa.

As it dries down further it reveals a muted sweetness of ripe Raspberries & Amber, which then transitions into what almost feels like a Tobacco note thanks to the Thyme, Olibanum, & Jasmine, but quickly reveals its scent profile as more of an Ash.

...& In combination with the Wood notes the overall experience feels like you're in a Gentleman's Club sitting on an Antique Leather Sofa sipping a Raspberry Whiskey Sour next to an Ashtray filled with extinguished Cigarette butts.

...but for me, even with all of that going on I still very clearly smell Cocaine. If you know the smell of Cocaine Its unmistakable.

Tuscan Leather, although Unisex is an unapologetically masculine fragrance. However, it can be worn by an adventurous woman. Which i feel would create a very unique experience.

BlackRabbit

JTBachmann Did the So called Stripper who you claim to have snorted Coke off whilst they were wearing a leather thong happen to go by the Stripper name Imogen Nairy??? Little boy's and their BIIIG Imaginations.....Comments like yours show that the ONLY BIG thing you have is your Imagination.....

redearth_bluemoon

smells like cocaine? how would I know what cocaine smells like?

Long Lasting and Unique scent

IamdrinkingBeer

I got a bottle in april of 2021. And i have to say, this is definitely watered down. Have to sell it and find a decant from earlier years. What a shame.

Wolfe Tone

Finally a leather smell that actually smells like great leather. Love it.

vintages

I don't get why some people love to smell like a leather coat with some raspberries. in a photorealistic way. or a new car with leather seats.
