Killer Queen by Katy Perry is a Floral Fruity Gourmand fragrance for women. Killer Queen was launched in 2013. The nose behind this fragrance is Laurent Le Guernec. Top notes are Forest Fruits, Plum and Bergamot; middle notes are Frangipani, Jasmine Sambac and Celosia; base notes are Praline, Patchouli and Cashmeran.

Pop star Katy Perry launches her third fragrance and the first one done in cooperation with Coty. The scent is called Killer Queen by the song written by Freddie Mercury, and apparently it is totally different from its two predecessors.

“Killer Queen has been in my vocabulary since I was 15, because of the song ‘Killer Queen’ by Queen,” said Perry to wwd. “Freddie Mercury painted the lyrics of this woman who I wanted to be. She seemed very powerful, and she captivated a room when she walked in. I named my company Killer Queen after those lyrics. I feel like, after all this time, it was appropriate to use that name in association with something I did. I feel like I’m falling, finally, into that woman Freddie painted.”

Announced as a playful, sophisticated, powerful, edgy and delicious fragrance, it reflects the rebellious spirit of the singer. Its creation is signed by Laurent Le Guernec of IFF. Top notes include wild berries, dark plum and bergamot accords. The main note of the heart is velvety red flower (Celosia), but there are also Sambac jasmine and rainbow plumeria. The base contains cashmere, patchouli and liquid praline.

The bottle is shaped like a red ruby and comes in its own golden pedestal. The fragrance is available as 15, 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum with body lotion and shower gel.

Hellamia

A nice celebrity fragrance but nothing that stands out and it's not particularly unique. Dark fruit opening that is sweet but balanced nicely with the woody, chocolate base. It stays sweet on the skin for a few hours, and sillage is moderate. A good fragrance for the gym, not too overpowering and decent value.

SarahPepper

The most boring, forgettable fragrance in my collection

Jill Costello

Dark fruits with chocolate and forest vibes. Sweet smooth but powerful. One of my absolute favs from Katy Perry's line. Lasts a few hours. The bottle is gorgeous and killer queen is one of my go to Queen songs. This is a winner.

Andy224

Though it not smelling exactly the same, it shares a LVEB vibe. Nothing special and poor lasting power.

Bangabanga

Smells exactly like Ribena.

piglette13

smells crazy good, if only it lasted longer. can't afford flowerbomb though. sigh

Shahudi

nope . nope . too strong . i almost collapsed . this scent literally chokes you and gives you the biggest headache . one of my least favourite scents .

Madzmadz

This fragrance is not a personal favourite of mine and is the cheapest perfume I own. Yet without a doubt every single time I wear it I get stopped on the street and complimented and or asked what perfume I am wearing. That's the only reason I continue to buy this, because it seems to be well liked by a huge range of people. I have perfumes that I spent $600 on and yet this $30 perfume is the one that pulls in all the compliments. This smells quite strong and I actually think it can work quite well as a unisex scent as it is equally musky and floral.

violets1

This smells chocolate caramel praline. It is strong at first then after awhile fades. It does last where I don't have to spray again constantly. It's like a more mature or sultry fragrance from Katy Perry so this to me is more for nighttime.

phoebeellaparkes

I LOVE KILLER QUEEN.
This fragrance is so unusual, and really does not smell or wear like any other celebrity fragrance. It is perfect for the colder months. I absolutely love the chocolatey praline with the warm, dark berry notes paired with it. I also believe anyone can wear this perfume. Beautiful.

isha2003

This perfume was gifted to me, i got a compliment when i wore this perfume which was only once, Something in this perfume makes my nose itch, i can’t stand it, if i kept it longer i would’ve gotten a headache. You get berries, you get frangipani and praline. A fruity gourmand scent that smells cheap. For the price, i’d give it 6/10, its okay

hnwbeachbum

To be honest, I only bought this because I thought the bottle was so cool, but it’s actually a really nice cold weather scent. I’ve been layering it with Tobacco Vanille this fall and have been getting complimented like crazy.

vanillaorchid

After wearing this scent for a couple of months I feel that it's right in-between Black Opium and Flowerbomb, but actually closer to the first. It has an added musky vibe comparing to those two, and a much more diluted vibe. To me this is pretty much a unisex scent because I associate the musk with manly scents. It's just too thick and murky for my taste. Also, the berry note is not really there, it's more of a dark, boozy and sweet note, otherwise indescribable. Won't be buying this again, will gift it to someone dear to me if possible.

mabelangel

usually i hate celeb perfumes (cough cough ariana grande) but this wasn’t that bad! i mean. it’s definitely a bit cheap smelling, but it’s not terrible. my sister wore it when she was visiting and it smelled divine on her… on me? not so much. it’s very sultry and feminine but not so much that it can’t be worn daily. i wouldn’t buy it but it’s nice! esp for a katy perry scent

rozberry

A real hidden gem here. Quite a simple scent but by no means boring. Very easy and safe blind buy, especially if you're in the UK as you can find this at discount stores for bargain price. If you are missing a warm, fruity-patchouli with the gourmand yumminess of sweet pralines/chocolate from your wardrobe, I highly recommend this perfume. Only gripe is the plastic tray that the bottle lay in within the box felt very cheap. I panicked and though what on earth have a bought here when unboxing. I was completely turned around by the gorgeous scent which feels in no way cheap, in fact is quite classy, but also youthful at the same time. Love it!

dilakahveci

I love this so much, i bought it in 2015, and i still remember exactly how it smells. Unfortunately its been 8 years since i last smelled it, and i cant find it anywhere in my country. Smells very sweet and i get the praline a lot. chocolate and patchouli combination is one of the best combinations (to me) , it makes it smell expensive, deep and attractive. There’s no dupe for it, it was so original. I’m really sad that its discontinued.

Scintillating_Jade

I had received this perfume as a Christmas gift years back in middle school and I absolutely loved it. The bottle is so beautiful and unique and of course the fragrance is just stunning. I recently got another bottle off of Ebay and it just takes me back and reminds me of why i loved this fragrance so much in the first place. Its so juicy and alluring. As soon as you spray it you get the delicious berries and plum, and then as it settles the patchouli and creaminess comes in to play and creates this dark yet sexy smell. Katy did a fantastic job on this fragrance and I think the name 'Killer Queen' is a perfect representation because i can see this being a boxer dropping man killer fragrance ;) i love it!!

AinoKaroliina

I tried this in a store a while back and really enjoyed it and wanted to get a big bottle of this. The bottle looks stunning and this smells so good! This smells much more expensive than what it actually cost. You'd think it's a designer fragrance from smelling it.

I sense the berries, plum and praline mostly in this. I also sense a honey note though it's not listed. Everything works together so well. Sexy and feminine. In my opinion this scent stays pretty linear.

This is great for any occassion, any time of the year, night or day.

If only this was stronger and lasted longer I would love this perfume, but with the performance issues I just like it. Everytime I wear this I overspray it heavily to boost the lasting power and projection and still have to reapply a few times in a day.

It's worth the price though if you can still find it, as it's affordable (my big 100ml bottle cost around 20€)

Rayan Abusrour

A more fruity touch to flowerbomb by V&R. It’s one of the few celebrity perfumes that I like. As it start to dry down, you get more hints of flowerbomb. But definitely not a dupe whatsoever. I’d say it’s nice but not outstanding.

Romyy93

I go back and forth on this perfume. I like it, I don't like it, I like it but I smell something in there I dislike... I'm not sure if it's the patchouli or the woody note... But it stings a little up in my nose, I think it's meant to spice things up but it's done in an 'oof what's THAT' - to an other wise floral fruity vanilla-y scent - way. If that note was just a little bit less, or more blended in I would have liked it way more. I'd love to try one of the flankers but I see all (?) of them have been discontinued unfortunately..

qianqian

To me it is so similar to Flowerbomb. Does anyone find that as well?

Fatima1219

I believe that this is my 3rd time wearing this fragrance, and I really enjoy it. It is a seductive, sultry, well-balanced fragrance--suitable for those times you would like to rest in your own femininity. It is a feel good fragrance that is distinctive in today's climate of candy, pop, and dessert themed fragrances. Today, I have Killer Queen paired with B&BW Sensual Glow--the two work marvelously together! The longevity on this fragrance is very minimal--it quickly turns into a lovely skin scent that needs to be reapplied quite often. I am an over sprayer, so this I don't mind. Not a safe blind buy because it hardly lasts, some ladies will be upset about the flawed longevity. Beautiful bottle!

candieslove

This is not a juvenile fruity-sweet scent. This is a sensual fruity-sweet scent. This is more mature compared to Purr and Meow. The patchouli in this fragrance just blends in perfectly with the forest fruits. I wish this last longer but still it is a nice date night fragrance

hollyoaks321

Didn’t like this at first so as I tried to use the bottle up it grew on me it reminds me a lot of flowerbomb just a bit more sweet to my nose.A good cheapie if you like flowerbomb.longevity is 1-2 hours have to reapply and heavy spray

This Evil Bunny

So I smelled a sample of this, and while nice, this smells EXACTLY like Viva La Juicy, like a 95% clone. It is slightly muted and less bright than VLJ, so I'm glad I just have a sample. If you ever wanted to know what VLJ smelled like, or Gucci Flora for that matter, take a go at this, but I already have VLJ, so I don't need a full bottle of this.

miss mills

My teenager just gifted me a bottle of this for Mother's Day and I'm blown away, mostly because they went perfume sniffing and chose it themselves (and know my taste so well) but also as it's a great bottle and a delightful red berry scent. Drenched in it today and will be sharing it with my child as well. This will remain close to my heart.

Cellar

I like it but I don’t smell the praline in it :( It smells very expensive and sexy and it has a really cool bottle it can’t stand up though so you’ll have to keep it in the box

hpeeters

Had to have this when I saw the bottle. ADORABLE. Already making a statement on my vanity. I’m trying to venture out and try more sweet woody scents that are Stronger, more mature smelling and versatile that I can wear to work, day or night. This scent did not disappoint! This starts out strong but drys down soft. Don’t let the patchouli scare you, its there but dries down nicely. Killer Queen is strong at first but It does tone down to a lovely sweet, spice and woodsy goodness. I don’t get flower bomb vibes. But the scent is Definitely living up to its name and projecting well so far. I also just love Katy Perry, can’t deny that! The bottle is an absolute gem and the scent is not to simple yet not too complex. Add this to your collection! Even if it’s just for the bottle…

jbaby283

I've never smelled flowerbomb so i wouldn't know, but this to my nose smells a lot like lancome tresor la nuit, just less interesting, less complex, less potent, and more juvenile. Kinda like the daytime, edt version of TLN.

The top notes smell like some sort of red berries, sweet, a bit tart, very yummy. Then it settles down and the base is very much patchouli, which smells like chocolate on my skin, which I love. Overall it is a very likeable, sweet gourmand scent. Because it's more timid than TLN, I feel like it'll be less office-offensive, if you consider TLN as not office-friendly (not me though). Longevity isn't great, around 2-3 hours and sillage is just meh, a bit lower than moderate I would say. Defo overspray, like how you'd spray an edt. It does smell kinda cheap and uninteresting cuz it's an extremely generic scent, and there isn't much depth to it. It just simply smells good.

Unfortunately I already own TLN and I love that one so much more so I feel like this one is just meh. However, I do think it's a great scent if you're on a budget and if you're still pretty young, like in your 10s, 20s, or early 30s top, this one may suit you. Better than other bugdet fragrances. It smells like a designer perfume, very mass appealing.

Overall 5.5/10

Update 10/2023: tried Flowerbomb. This doesn't smell like Flowerbomb. Both are very basic but likeable.

nymphfairy

omg smells exactly like flower bomb!!

tarajane91

Very pleasant and easy to wear fragrance if you're into fruity florals. Killer Queen is very pretty, and a little gourmand with the berries and the praline in the drydown. I think it's is well blended, and I agree with other comments that it's a dupe for Flowerbomb, albeit a softer version. I'm not sure I would repurchase it, but I'm enjoying this one as 'dumb reach' for the moment.

The longevity is really poor at 1-2 hours and it needs quite a few sprays, but considering the price I'm happy to overspray and reapply!

Momopeach

I went through the rollerball and decided to get the big bottle, which is so pretty.

This is really sweet smelling, with nondescript fruitiness and floral. It's not mind blowing but it's a great scent and very reminiscent of flowerbomb and la vie est belle. The patchouli is definitely present but not overwhelming!

whisperology

It's just a 'like' for me - I find Killer Queen kind of sharp. The patchouli is what I get most, even upon first spray, and it's a dirty patchouli. On the bright side it does smell complex enough and not at all cheap. A very feminine scent. The cashmere comes out mid way and makes this cozy. I can see this being worn on a date night.

Longevity is meh. You'll need to reapply, and probably overspray. The bottle is really friggen cute though.

kveinotte

A decent little fragrance for the price with an eye-catching bottle.
Not a love, but it's not bad. It's very fruity with a patchouli base, vaguely reminiscent of La Vie Est Belle but definitely not a dupe.
It's fruity and flirty and fun, but nothing mind-blowing. But for the price, it's a nice scent.
Only complaint I have is that is the longevity is a little short, but again, at the price it's not too bad.

Iluvperf

Beautiful smelling one!!! Creamy and fresh. Cashmeran is surely the highlighted note.

roxxyg

Lovely and layers beautifully with my rose fragrance to become something even more wonderful. Such great value

CrazyCrab

I quite like it, it's on the positive side of meh. I fail to see how it lives up to it's name of "Killer Queen" or associations with Freddie Mercury. Unspecified mixed berries and sweetness, with something a little deeper that smells somewhat scratchy; I'm assuming this is patchouli because that sometimes gives me the feeling of a scratchy smell. The later dry down is more caramel and creamy and I get tired and bored of it by then. It reminds me of Beyoncé heat and black opium but it could just as well be any of the numerous other things it's compared to, because I'm sure it smells like them too.

Hautechic

This perfume is one of my favourite celebrity fragrances. I used to wear it all the time because it reminds me of a toned down version of Flower Bomb or La Vie Est Belle. It’s very wearable day and night compared to those two but still has notes that remind you of them with maybe a bit more fruitiness.

Catmo

This is most definitely a dupe of flower bomb. I don’t currently own flower bomb (the original) so I’m glad to have this. I mostly get the fruit and sweetness from the praline with a little patchouli and florals. A very pretty girly scent that’s more complex than most celebrity fragrances while still being easy to like.

Sweet Satine

A pretty perfume, a floral, fruity, mild spice perfume. The dry-down is just a mild sweet skin scent. The smell to me is like honey with flowers and a patchouli note that stables out the perfume. If it lasted longer on my skin, I would wear often. I don't mind respraying throughout the day. I would say a spring and summer fragrance, I wear any season.

anxioussteve

Just bought this today for the very first time. I love Katy Perry and have only recently wanted to start collecting celebrity fragrances :) this is the first of my collection, although I have smelt others before.

This is a great scent! On first spray, I thought it smelt very similar to FAME by Lady Gaga. The dry down has a more sophisticated scent. I think it’s the cashmere in the base notes. It’s sweet but not too sweet, feminine but I am a gay man and feel like I can wear this without it being too “girly”

I’ve had it on for a couple of hours now and it’s still lingering. I bought this for £11.99 at B&M, you get the large 100ml size which is AMAZING value! A bargain I couldn’t refuse and I’m glad I made the decision to buy this :) side note - the bottle is amazing. I’m awaiting my delivery of Mad Love by Katy Perry which I’m super excited to try.

If you like FAME by Lady Gaga and like FANTASY by Britney Spears, I’d say you’ll pretty much enjoy this one.

Malibu

Killer Queen opens with a rich plum note. I can also immediately separate some raspberry & blackberry, as well as a hint of pomegranate. The plum note is long and distinctive, so carries through the entire longevity of the perfume. I'm not familiar with celosia, but I get something that is reminiscent to a fruity tea, which I'm suspecting is it. It's a bit of a guessing game to separate the other floral notes [apart from the listed jasmine & bergamot] from the sweetly powdered floral jumble heart of the fragrance; the praline develops pretty quickly to blend with the plum & growing sprinkling of patchouli, and the mix takes over the spotlight.

I do suspect that there is some combination of orange blossom, rose, and/or magnolia in Killer Queen, but I'm not totally confident. The soft sandalwood emerges and combines with the patchouli & praline, which adds a hint of heated creaminess & more noticeable nutty undertone to the blend - there's something in the final drydown that reminds me of Lancôme's La Vie Est Belle.

Killer Queen is very pleasant & easy to wear over the autumn/winter months, but it's hasn't proven to be something that I'd personally recommend wearing during warmer months; the fruit notes dominated the fragrance during the warmer weather and smother the more interesting features, like the pomegranate & tea-like note and the more delicate sweet & powdered florals. During the autumn & winter months I find this to be a warm & comforting easy-to-wear blend, which does lend a bit of a more enjoyable air to Killer Queen to me nowadays; I think that I mainly wore my original bottle over the warmer months, which prevented me from getting the full effect. I recommend this to people looking for an affordable 'everyday' sweet fragrance, during the autumn & winter months.

ca$hm3re

When I first got this I didn’t quite get the hype… I was like why is this so raved about?

I still don’t quite get it. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy this a lot, but I suppose I was expecting something I little bit deeper and sexier from what I read on here. It is a nice berry scent that leans more deep than it does fresh, but it’s not as deep as i thought it would be. It’s no midnight fantasy. I enjoy it, but don’t mind over spraying it because it’s not an absolute love. I wouldn’t NOT recommend this, but I think you don’t need to rush out to try this if you were on the fence about it.

It’s pleasant and enjoyable, but get midnight fantasy if you want a deep fruity celebrity perfume over this.

colagurrrl

Where has this perfume been all my life? As the name rightfully suggests, this perfume truly makes me feel like royalty. I've been looking for this perfume since it released, but I never got the chance to purchase it until now. It was never available in stores near me, but I just found a mini (0.5 oz bottle) on FragranceNet and finally decided to give it a try. I am beyond impressed by this perfume. It smells expensive and alluring, and the notes add complexity and depth to each phase of this scent experience. I can definitely spot the similarities between this perfume, Flowerbomb, and La Vie Est Belle, but something about this fragrance just has an elevated edge that makes it much more enticing to me. It's dark, autumnal, and mystifying; wearing this makes me feel like a million bucks. The base notes also add a twist of coziness to an otherwise dark and powerful perfume, almost like wearing a sweater as you brave the coldness of autumn and winter. I also pick up on a chocolatey note; perhaps it's the praline? At any rate, this perfume is so delicious and unique, and I highly recommend this if you can get your hands on it!

Tinabill

I like how the plum and dark berry notes elevate Killer Queen from the realm of generic fruitchouli to something more dark, mysterious and mature (but not too much).
The top notes are tart and sweet, the heart has indiscernible abstract florals and the base has just the right touch of patchouli; adding depth and woodsiness without overpowering. I get more vanilla than pralines, and the cashmeran note adds warmth and smoothness gluing the whole composition.
The initial blast promises good sillage but unfortunately it reduces to a skin scent within minutes. The longevity on my skin is 2-3 hours if I overspray which is my only disappointment with this perfume.
Lovely plummy fruitchouli

didsthecat

My first ever perfume. I got it in 2013 for my tenth birthday. I loved it and put it on constantly. I was in my Katy Perry phase then.

elysian

This is the 1st perfume I ever bought myself as a teenage girl back in 2014. And cherished every spray. The dry down is very cozy cashmere and berry blend. I know that these types of fruity patchouli scents are not on trend anymore, but I'm still a huge fan.
I never got any comments or reactions on this perfume, however, since the sillage is poor and sits close to the skin. That being said, you won't annoy anyone like you could wearing, say, La vie est belle, which I also had and enjoyed.

Darling of Disquiet

I got this as a Xmas present back when I was 28 and I actually was nicely surprised. I saw it the other day for $15 at Marshalls and grabbed it because it's very well worth that price. I like having stuff to reach for in certain times and for fall and winter this is a easy choice.
When I'm just gonna be hanging out or running errands it has a comfy vibe that I like and it's just so easy to wear in sweatpants and a hoodie on a cool day. Plus the price is very very good 👍

artpopmixer

I love the whole vibe of this perfume, first of all the deep red bottle matches the scent perfectly. It starts out a warm blast of deep plum and winter berries and I can definitely smell the jasmine in the heart keeping it mature. The base of the fragrance comes through quite quickly as well, the patchouli and praline combo make it a really deep smelling gourmand which I love so I can’t stop smelling myself whenever I wear it and it does get compliments.
When it first came out I wasn’t familiar with flowebomb or LVEB, but as I got older I do get how this is the perfect mix of both of those perfumes lol. The opening is flower bomb and the dry down is LVEB.
The lasting power is around 5-6 hours on my skin and even longer on clothes. I love to wear this during the autumn cause it’s such a comforting smell to wear whilst all the leaves are turning red and orange.
I feel like this may be getting discontinued as well as all of Katy’s other perfumes so grab a bottle whilst you can and get a celebrity perfume that feels and smells a whole lot more expensive than it is!

Angel Indy

I love this perfume and so does my boyfriend. He always compliments me when I wear it. The I initial spray is very berry heavy, but then it fades into an amazing and addictive dry down. It’s sweet and comforting. When I wear this I sniff my wrist every chance I can. It’s that good. The only problem is the longevity, which is very moderate. Still, I love this perfume and my bottle is almost gone. I will repurchase soon though.

nassiesamou

i have had this for years and never liked it, but recently i’ve gotten into darker smelling sweets scents and now I am in love with this. It is true that killer queen smells similar to la vie est belle and flower bomb, but in my opinion this is wayyyy better. those smell brighter to me, whereas this smells more dark and sexy. I really don’t like LVEB and FB because I hate patchouli heavy perfumes, and that’s exactly what they are. Even though killer queen is also patchouli-heavy, it smells way more gourmand to me than the other two. It kinda smells like LVEB with darker fruits (plum) and a tiny bit of marshmallow. To me this smells creamier and better blended than its more expensive counterparts. I love the scent so much, but i rate it 3/10 because it literally lasts 3 minutes on my skin…..

Britneycollector

Disappointing performance, doesn't even last more than 10 minutes.... It smells nice but extremely bad performance or maybe it just doesn't last on my skin

catpawgaultier

I had this when I was in high school, purely because of the cool-looking bottle 😂 It smells pretty boring. I'd say the main notes for this are 'vanilla' and 'alcohol eau de toilette'. But then again, I'm not a nose connoisseur, I just say what it smells like to everyone else. Not a very sophisticated perfume, but the bottle made me feel fancy for hallucinating plums, pralines and prawns and whatever when I was 13 for sure!

hailsatannas

I first smelled it a couple years ago at a store, and I never forgot about it. I just bought it a month ago, and I'm in love. It is a fresh gourmand, the plum really freshens it up, and imo makes it perfect for a chilly night. So I would wear this year round. Opening has a very potent plum and as it dries down, the praline starts to become more strong. This doesn't have a vanilla note, but when it's completely dried down, I get praline and vanilla with a tiny hint of plum. Gorgeous fragrance, and the botte is just to cool. Would highly recommend!

salaryman

I had to try it after seeing how cute the bottle is and that it supposedly smells like Flowerbomb according to a review I saw, and I’m shocked by the similarities. The only real differences I could pick up were that Killer Queen is a bit fruitier and has a more lactonic/chocolatey smell. It’s also not as strong and the longevity is about medium with the last few hours it sticking close to the skin, which is perfect for the purpose I bought it for.

This was definitely a safe blind-buy, especially for its price. Would definitely recommend it if you need a cheapie for your less eventful days.

GinkgoLeaf

I bought this fragrance many years ago because of the beautiful bottle, and ten years later it is still my favourite scent. “Killer Queen” couldn’t be a more accurate name. This scent is dark, powerful, sexy, and commanding. Perfect when you need that extra confidence boost or when you’re on a hot date!

Nocciola23

This is nice, safe and inoffensive. A good blind buy. A bit sweet and heavy on the berry for my taste, but on the dry down it has a softer, more floral note which I enjoyed. I could see myself wearing this as an everyday scent, but it wasn't so special that I would go out of my way to buy/recommend it.

Katelynl88

Wow I chose this perfume for my monthly subscription and I love it . It smells so similar to victor n Rolf flowerbomb, I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone mention that , on me it smells not exact but so similar it’s amazing! I’ll use this now instead of flowerbomb, I’ll use both but I can’t afford to always have fb. I get the same richness that I get from the fb that I don’t get from the cheap fb dupe I have . This is an instant favorite! It’s sweet, rich and creamy . Really great gourmand , I get a bit of the cashmere after the dry down . I’m so broke right now but I have to buy it, like right now

katntem

''Killer Queen'' is a beautiful fragrance…. I HATE PATCHOULI, but in this perfume it is okay. I smell the plum, the praline and the patchouli. I like this scent but I don't love it. I think that it is a like because of the patchouli note. Something about it keeps me away of spraying it. PATCHOULI!! That's it!! If it didn't have patchouli I think that it would be lighter and more wearable for me. It's a heavier scent. It is also a good quality perfume and smells wayyyy more expensive than it actually is!! The most mature perfume by Katy Perry of the ones that I have tried so far. I think that a more mature woman can wear this as well. But it is beautiful and i will definitely wear it more. I'm NOT saying that other perfumes lighter can't be worn by more mature women, Everyone can wear EVERYTHING they want, I'm just saying that this one can be worn by someone more mature, if anyone is interested in this perfume. That's why I'm saying that. I give my HONEST review every single time and I hope that it is helpfull and I can help someone out. I also think that it is NOT a safe blind buy and that you should smell it first. Longevity is amazing by the way!!

love love love this for colder days and nights! fruit but warm and spicy all in one, almost has a chocolatey hit to it too, one of my favourites, so cheap too. I have had many compliments :)

Trishaaa

It's a nice sweet fruity scent which I would consider more dark. What I mean by that is I get notes of dark heavier fruits rather than the citrus, fresh summery kinds of fruits. I'd say this is mostly on the gourmand side of things so if that's your thing I think you'd really like this!

Only thing I don't like is that the bottle isn't really that convenient as you can't really stand it up properly. For the price, you're getting something pretty awesome here, so long as you enjoy rich fruits.

This is also a really REALLY sexy perfume now that I think about it so this is an absolute must for a date night oh my goodness! Can't recommend this enough it's so good not even joking.

mariboo

Katy's best perfume ever. So iconic. I feel like the baddest bitch wearing it. Sexy and confident.

Katie <3

My boyfriend's Mum gave him this as a car air freshener. I like it, it reminds me of Viva La Juicy and Jimmy Choo. I might have to save it from its air freshener fate.

leafia

this was another blind buy for me as it is extremely affordable and the bottle definitely spoke to me. I thought I would like this when I looked at the notes too, and I was right! I really, really enjoy this scent, I just wish it would last much longer. on me, it barely lasts two hours. sillage isn’t all that either, unfortunately. I like it when I can get a whiff of myself every now and then but I don’t get that at all with this. it’s really sad because the scent itself is heavenly. it’s dark and classy, which is what I tend to gravitate towards in a perfume. the bottle is very aesthetically pleasing as well, so it makes for a nice decoration on my shelf. still, in the end, it leaves more to be desired.

Gratefruit7

Love this so much, very warm, confident. But wish it would last longer and stronger.

meganlamode

I loved this in college. Longevity was forever and it made me feel like I could conquer the world. Now that I'm almost 30, I still like it for the nostalgia, but it is a bit too sweet. I still enjoy the plum-jasmine-patchouli line, although the praline is a bit much for me now. I keep it around for a night out once in a while.

bella1019

killer queen is such an iconic fragrance no matter where you go you’ll see a few on the shelves that also goes for the scent, it’s very strong and loud just wearing the body lotion of this is enough you can smell it at least two meters away (just the lotion) the actual fragrance has good longevity and silage, i know a lot of people who love this but it’s definitely offensive. this was my first perfume ever i got it as soon as it released and god i have no idea why i was wearing this at such a young age and that goes for all my friends too we were middle schoolers wearing this?? it’s so mature for a celeb fragrance like it genuinely smells like an old lady perfume, i love it just don’t wear it because of that reason (and every mean girl wore this i swear) now with the notes i just smell a fruity floral mix i don’t get the praline at all i don’t think this fragrance is sweet it’s more sour/ tart

Babblecat

This was the first celebrity fragrance I ever bought, and I was so pleasantly surprised at how good it is. I bought it at the drugstore for like $15, and now that my collection includes many more expensive and niche scents I keep returning to it thinking I won't appreciate it as much. Nope, still good. It's very sweet but not in the muddled saccharine way of many cheap gourmands, and I love that it doesn't just smell like straight up dessert. The combination of notes is different from anything else I have, and because I'm not familiar with the specific smells of Celosia or "Forest Fruits," I'm not sure how to pick out what smells like what here. There's an accord I get in Killer Queen that smells like dragon's blood incense--this kind of tart but juicy smell in the midst of all the sweetness. The patchouli provides a nice depth. I keep this in my purse and use it in combination with other fragrances--it layers well with many of the perfumes I like. I don't have trouble with the longevity; I wore it to bed last night and it's noon now and I can still smell it. I think it's brilliant, especially at this price point.

amberwaves

while this is a nice enough smell I find it a bit thematically confused. The name, bottle and promotional material all suggest rich, old world opulence turned on its head (or rather its side like the throne in the commercial). it suggests castles, feasts, gowns and powdered cheeks but shaken up with a rebellious edge, a remix of regality. The scent itself however is a fairly typical modern scent. Fruits up top, floral heart and a sweet base of either caramel, vanilla or in this case praline. But the selected notes are odd and honestly feel a little misguided.

Plum usually gives a deep rich fruitiness which is meant to be amplified here by the ambiguous berries but it feels synthetic and top heavy and sort of sags into generic bubblegum territory.
Frangipani is a strange choice for the floral heart making it feel breezy and tropical, again at odds with the supposed theme, it’s not unpleasant by any means it just feels like the branding and concept are completely unrelated to the fragrance itself which takes the fun out of it. I enjoy perfumes because they can be so conceptual and transportive and tell stories and bring fantastical ideas to life. The idea of this fragrance is something I would quite like to smell but this scent would seem perfectly at home in a fluorescent plastic body spray bottle with a pink palm tree on it. It’s safe and flexibly marketable but the characterisation in its advertising just feels arbitrary.

jasmine is there like a silent letter, feeling a bit drowned out sandwiched between all the sweetness. The base is fairly standard, creamy praline and grounding musk but both so sanitised that there’s no real weight to them. The patchouli on me is nowhere to be found.

I know the real money in celebrity fragrances lies in a candy sweet fruity caramel comfort zone, but as we’ve seen before, celebrities who bring a bit more of a twist to the formula sometimes start massive trends. I would have liked this fragrance to have tried something a bit more innovative or inspired. as it is, it’s perfectly nice but nothing special. For a fragrance whose marketing hinges on the idea of liberating yourself from expected, feminine convention and doing your own thing, this sadly colours neatly within the same old lines and does nothing we haven’t seen or smelled before.

Projection is fine, longevity could be better. Quite average on all fronts but at its low price point its a safe blind buy, inoffensive and would be great for a young fan of Katy. it could serve well as a purse spray or a quick pickup from the drug store if your luggage gets lost and your real perfume along with it.

I don’t think Katy Perry’s approach to perfume is for me, it feels less like she has something to say with the scent itself and more like a fragrance line is almost obligatory for any relevant pop star at this point. The campaign for this fragrance feels like it was crafted around an interesting theme that Katy clearly enjoys the aesthetic of, but with a placeholder fragrance at its centre, yet to be formulated. And when time came for the admittedly beautiful bottle to be filled it had become an afterthought and a perfume was plucked off the conveyor of ready made celebrity frags.

LittleMissYellow

I remember smelling this when i was a teen and was like NOPE🤣 But now I love it so much. On me, the forest berries and plum are intense.. in the best way possible. A heavy, fruity opening with a zing of bergamot. The mid florals aren't prominent on me, but goes well with the fruitness of the top. The base notes reaaallllyyy hit hard with the sensuality and sexiness like damn. The patchouli isn't strong so its a bonus!! I don't mind patchouli too much but .. it's not my favourite note/ ingredient. The praline and cashmeran is *chef's kiss* Soft but definitely there to tie everything together. the base is creamy with the berries still hanging around which is so nice. It's not a light or fresh fragrance so it's not suitable for summer or hot days. But tbh i wear it anyway😆 sillage and projection are amazing. Longevity is moderate. But for the price, its 12/10. The main notes i smell on my skin are, berries, plum, praline and cashmeran. On clothing its mostly berries. I really recommend for anyone to try if you like more dark, fruity scents 👍

Phantomias

Thanks to a friendly fragrantican I was able to sample this, and tbh, I like it. I knew Katy Perry only from her Mad Potion fragrance. Yes, KQ is a fruit chouli, but it's a nice one with decent longevity and sillage. It's affordable and has a nice flacon unlike MP's hideous bottle.
Some commenters have compared KQ to LVEB, but that's a matter of taste. KQ works for me where LVEB doesn't, and that's good enough.

natasha28

Review is for my own reference - The scent is not really my type of fragrance, it's just okay. I think it's missing some brightness/freshness I can see a lot of people liking it though. I don't really know how to describe what I don't like about it. I personally just don't find it fun, flirty, or sexy. It might be good for a more mature woman?

39SUMMERS

I'm on the fence with this one....it reminds me of a weak version of le vie est belle....which is a much better smelling perfume on me. For some reason this perfume has little smell and stay power once on.....have to reapply may be 2-3times a day just to smell nice....not really pleased with the longevity. Smell is nice just not very strong.

rocsta6

The drydown of this is exactly like la vie est belle. Don't like it much though

MarmaladeSkies

Honestly not the best but not the worse. I don't feel this is a young fragrance but I don't feel this is a sophisticated fragrance either. First spray I get the wild berries and patchouli. After 15 minutes people sitting close to you can still smell you. There's is a candy gourmand bottom note to it. Not quite praline on me. Very artificial. More reminiscent of a deep chocolate or aniseed but not in a good way. The price on this is good but it's not great. You get what you pay for. It smells like something my great aunt would wear or maybe a teenager who liked it more for the bottle and cause they were a fan of the celebrity. It does smell a bit powdery or make-upy on me. I think the bottle is gorgeous, I'm just so glad I tried this first instead of blind buying. Even though it's only $20 I much prefer AG's R.E.M for a celebrity perfume that is sweet. 5 hours later it's still on me but I don't like smelling mediocre so I've tried washing it off with a bit of citrus based hand wash and it's still there lingering... so I guess it's good value if you like the fragrance. It's not for me, but if you are into this kind of smell it would be good value for you. I won't be purchasing this one. It's winter where I am... I imagine this would be gross in the summer.

abilopez76

I do agree with some of the reviews that it kinda reminds you of LVEB. But take note, they’re not the same. If they are popular teenage sisters, LVEB is the sister with the curated IG feed, while KQ is the sister who is lowkey on social media in general (despite being the celeb perfume I know lol). You’ll see KQ in a park, while you’ll see LVEB in a mall. They have the same DNA, but have different attitudes and hobbies. They’re both sweet, beautiful, and full of cliches.

Of course Killer queen doesn’t last as long as LVEB on skin, but it’s cheaper so you can always spritz some again, prolly after 6-8 hrs. On clothes, it lasts even after a day. Pretty much a good deal for a good scent.

HoneyedAlchemy

I've had this perfume since I first got a free sample in Elle magazine almost almost 10 years ago now.

It smells super expensive and just like a designer fragrance. Whenever I wear it I always get compliments from all genders, and they're always shocked to find out that it's Katie Perry.

If you love the modern classics like Black opium and flower bomb, and need a cheaper perfume for everyday this is the one for you.

The only downside is that it doesn't last as long as a more expensive perfume, however it's so cheap that it doesn't really matter.

Kline

Katy Perry's Killer Queen, I will confess is possibly becoming my favourite celebrity perfume.

This is because it isn't too sweet, as much as sweetness is important to me in a perfume, it's not over-powering. I think it's the jasmine, patchouli mixed with frangipani and praline which gives the scent a kind of bitter creaminess in amongst of all those sweet berries and plums.

However if you are fan of Katy Perry; want to sample her perfumes but prefer sweeter scents I could suggest Purr, or Meow. :)

Miss Collector

I tried this in at the store, sprayed it on my wrists and clothes. Clearly the scent was pleasant since I dared put in on my skin. I'm new to perfumes, so I can’t really say anything about specific notes, but it was sweet and fruity. It's hard to remember, since all that's in my mind is the horrible dry down. After multiple hours, all that was left on my skin was something musty. I made my family sniff my wrists, and they commented it smelled like my dad was sweaty after doing woodwork in the garage while smoking a cigarette. Musty, sweaty, woody, ugh. I'm not sure what it was, but I think the description of patchouli could sound kind of right? I've never smelled pure patchouli to know what it smells like.

dglightblue

This is a bit more hazy than the blue bottle, blue bottle simple and clean ish, this one sweet, haze and a bit maybe woodsy -in a celeb way, not realistic - maybe a super cheap version of la vie est belle, at a push??
Pleasant enough.

sierrasiesta

Just got the full bottle and I say it rlly does smell like la vie est belle! But LVEB is sweeter. Killer Queen smells VERY patchouli and men's aftershave on my skin and masculine sadly. But on clothes its SWEET and fruity! So I just put it on my clothes and it smells divine~ Lasted the whole night even the next day lol

Kikichaaan

I love the crystal shaped bottle! It looks amazing. It opens up with a burst of berry scent, mixed with syrupy plum and bitterness from bergamot and slowly changing into some sweet, musky and full of patchouli scent. Not a big fan of the scent but the bottle looks great on my dresser. It lasts for about 4 hours on me. Will I repurchase this? No.

Rukya

I purchased it some years ago and at first, I really liked it but then I started to feel that the fragrance was very cheap in its components and in a few occasions it made me feel nauseous so, in the end, I choose to throw it away after a few weeks.

Also, I forgot to mention that the bottle was very cheap and the paint peeled off on the bottom and lastly the crown of the top fall of. Very, very cheap indeed, haha.

Perfume junkie88

I love Katty perry but not her perfumes unfortunately, beautiful bottle but that's about it,its great for decoration, the smell is very dull and bland,I was expecting it to smell lively and sexy, maybe even elegant. But it smells as lively as paper with 0 personality to it. I actually like the smell of paper more then this.

Mona Lygre

I'm glad this crep only costed me $ 4.90, a perfumery was selling out their storage, and I bought it because of your nice comments, or well, mostly of you.

Katy Perry is a beautiful woman, but her perfums have let me down, I thought this perfume had something to do with Queen, and Freddie Mercury, but I can tell you notttting of this shit reminds me of them.

What so goth with this thing? Øhh, the bottle, perhaps, but Beyonces Heat has much more zingading than this, and, I have both bottles, and they do not smell the same, the only thing they have in common is the color.

I have smelled this scent on a lot of perfumes, it is boring, boring and utterly boring. Besides that, I think Freddie Mercury would have prefered something more flamboyant, f.eks. Diors Poison.

This thing also iches on my skin and I don't dare to smell it with my nose, it lives up to it's name "killer", there are plenty of cheap perfumes out there smelling much better than this wannabequeen. Minus 50 points.

irenesa

This is a bad review, so I don't expect any of your balloons... thanks!

Chocolate, almond, vanilla, powder, dirt, and patchouli is what I get from this fragrance (I KNOW they aren't listed tho).
The bottle: This is something goth so as the fragrance itself.. its mysterious, dark (cliche, cliche, cliche), and elegant... I can stab somebody... But I wouldn't do it...

Killer Queen wants to smell like Christian Dior - Hypnotic Poisson, or like the rotten version of it... but she CAN'T. She is the copycat, the cheap version, the rat.... never a queen, always the wannabe...

I'm NOT a fan of Katy at all, I'm just judging by the perfume, and all I can say is: stay away from the lab and fragrances... there you go.

So this smell is just like a celebrity perfume. I mean Zara, has cheap wannabes... but good ones!

karinevandal

EDIT: we’re November now! Wow, i’m discovering it again. Found a trick, I mix a few sprays with double the amount of Love by Sofia Vergara. It is perfect!!! Funny how you can change your opinion about a fragrance throughout time. 🤩

**
On initial spray, its very sweet, strawberry heavy. Then the patchouli kick in. And this is when I thought: wow I hope its gonna develop better then that...well it's not ;(
For me, it becomes very manly, like aftershave.
I wanted to like this one, considering the accords, the reviews and I really think its a gorgeous bottle.

But meh, not sure for now…
Anyway, I will let it grow on me, give it another chance when its colder. Will edit my review if I change my mind.

#blindboughtgonebad

supergirl9412

I’ll try to review this as the scent should be. (My bottle has gone off!)

Top: very realistic jammy fruits, green and grassy citrus
Middle: slightly powdery florals
Bottom: creamy praline and patchouli

There’s a sharp tartness that outstays its welcome and makes it cheaper than it could/should be, and I do wish the whole wear featured those jammy notes ... I’m a sucker for those! I still enjoy it, though!

Power of Perfume

4 adjectives: sweet, young, warm, sexy.
3 ingredients: fruits, flowers, praline.
2 atmospheres: evening/night, Spring/Fall.
1 flaw: forgettable.

rdhtrevelation

Honestly, I bought this on a whim because of the name and the bottle. I absolutely love it. Its not a mature or sophisticated scent by any means, but its a fresh, fruity, comforting scent. The layers of flowers and fruit are pleasant, not heavy, and the melt away leaving buttery jasmine and cashmere. The dry down is very reminiscent of Cashmere Mist to me. Not a terribly memorable scent but I’m going to love having it in my collection.

OceanWaves

Here is yet another perfume I had high hopes for and was let down at first sniff.
I thought this perfume was going to be rather nice and sweet with the forest fruits, the plum and the praline at base, but I think it may be the bergamot and the patchouli bittering everything up and making this whole perfume very uncomfortable and just unpleasant.

GabbyVersusThe

There's a note in Killer Queen that I've not smelled before that makes it different to other fragrances. Celosia? Berries? I don't know what it is but I like it!

At $17(AUD) for a 100ml bottle it's hard to have any complaints but I would love for Killer Queen to have a bit more oomph. With better longevity and stronger projection, I would be reaching for this far more often.

lagavulinx

At 1st opening the magazine sample it smelled very 80s like poison or malibu musk. Then it got woody like the girl wearing poison was kissing a jock wearing polo. While other girls in obsession stood watching. I let it sit for 10min. & now I can smell the creamy carmel smell w faint plumeria. I like it better when its 1st smelled & at the end. Its softer & more creamy musky now. But its still good. update- i bought a bottle and i love it! long lasting fruity but woody scent. very good like lancome nuit

riabanana

Oh wow. I just got this. Smells exactly like Nude by Rihanna, but make it spicy. Never smelled Flowerbomb, but they both have it in the perfumes they remind people of, so I guess that could be the common denominator. I don't mind though, Nude is one of my favorite perfumes, when I smelled Killer Queen I was like wooooah it's the same thing. Based on the notes I thought it would smell like a generic Avon perfume, but I was wrong.

EDIT: Hmm. After a few weeks I just sniffed this again. Now it's VERY masculine to me. Like aftershave. Like Rihanna Nude mixed with Old Spice.

hannahbananana

i used to wear this when i was younger, recently remembered it and purchased it again. and right off the bat, this smells super similar to bonbon. it dissolves into a more floral scent at the end, but the beginning has the same caramel sweetness of bonbon. stronger too.

KittyDeBeauvoir

A nostalgic teenage dream!

I say that because I wore this as a teenage - a lot. Like....quite a lot.
Due to a powerful urge of nostalgia, I bought a bottle about a year ago. I'm only half-way through it now because...it's a ghost of its former self, sadly.
When I first wore this, this was A BEAST! It filled the entire room and clung to me like butter on popcorn (Disclaimer: There's no butter or popcorn notes in "Killer Queen"). God, I adored it.
The scent itself is still (basically) the same...which is why I still have a soft spot in my heart for it.

The forest fruits and bergamot I get most; and very little plum. Doesn't bother me because all those delciious forest fruits/red berries notes are...my jam (Hawhawhaw #jellyjampun). Bergamot gives this that awesome spritely zing that fills your nose and is immediately reviving. The fruits are just...intoxicating. Juicy and tart!
The floral notes are not huge to me. Largely non-descript. That's how it reminds me of "Flowerbomb", honestly. Very nice, but non-specific florals! Jasmine is usually quite distinctive, and I don't really get it here. Frangipani is usually very heady and sweet...and...nope; none of that either. Celosia (apparently) has a gentle, spicy scent...and that's actually probably the closest I get: A gentle, spicy, generalised floral.
Praline is here and - yes, used to be stronger - but it does provide a sweetness to it. A tiny bit chocolatey, but not gooey. You feel me? A more sweet cacao/cocoa bean. Patchouli - again - same as before, if perhaps weaker. This definitely has earthiness to it, but the lessened patchouli is actually an improvement. The orginal "Killer Queen" smelled a lot more similar to the patchouli in Mugler's "Angel" than its current formaulation does. It's quite nice now. Cashmeran does provide a slight sensual smooth musky warmth.

The bottle is ace. I don't get people who hate how it lies on an angle. It doesn't bother me in the slightest, and if I ever bought the cradle stand for it, I'd probably whinged about how it takes up too much space...so there's that.
The heavy red glass is awesome! I don't even care. The ombre effect is clever as well.
The plastic gold cap? Weeeeeell, I hate and love it. The INCREDIBLY cheap plastic material irks me. IRKS ME. However, the firm click and feel of it in my hand makes me happy. Go figure that one out; report back.

Seriously, though - the sillage on this is embarrassing now. It sprays widely at first, but settles to a skin scent rapidly which it never used to do. My teenage self is sad and isolating herself in her room.
The longevity is...okay. Nothing special now, but not the worst. I spray gallons of this on me now; and whilst I smell lovely, I can't help but be saddened at what was once a fabulous, downright-wicked, floral-oriental celebrity scent.

"Now every February; you'll be (were) my Valentine". 😁

Kitty rating: 6.5/10.

ohsointricate

Oooh.. this scent is very intriguing. I immediately get a sense of royalty, not only from the gorgeous bottle but from the scent itself. I smell an intoxicating cocktail of many things..

I get the juicy forest fruits and plum that stick around after the initial spray. I think the smell of dark berries and fruits is very sensual and indulgent, juicy and sweet. I also smell a subtle jasmine. I am not sure what frangipani and celosia smell like, but if celosia is a red flower, I can see how that adds a velvety floral depth to it. Mixing the red and white florals is a wonderful harmonious blend. Now, the base notes are what complete this. That sweet, undeniable patchouli slips its way in, dancing with a subtle yummy, nutty praline.

Even though this fragrance is inspired by Freddie Mercury, I get a hippie queen Grace Slick feeling when I wear this. Dark eyes, with velvety amanita muscaria floating around in my vision- It says cashmere, but I get more of a golden amber. Vanilla is not listed, but I think the combination of everything creates a rich vanillic undertone. Someone mentioned “lactonic nutty” which I agree. In general, it is a rich, fruity floral, nutty and subtly creamy, ambery, sultry.

lindsaybirddrums

Its a nice smelling perfume, doesnt last super long though. I do like it, but I probably wont buy it again.

kandykiller

I love this scent~ it reminds me if I were sitting as in the background of a small home, there was black tea boiling on the stove& pastry with dark red& rich fruits were cooking in that pastry...like dark fruits rich& black tea cooking...I drink& cook black tea every day...over coffe& no soda sobom very familiar with that scent...even though it's not listed....
love the bottles,I always save& give to my daughter when I'm done,so she can feel like a princess...because mamas the only queen 👸 ♡ I use as a bodyspray....because her perfumes...sadly only last 30mins,so sad,but ill always be a fan,my favorite of hers tho is meow pink kitty bottle, that scent#1♡,great scent here tho!!!!

naenae_moves

Okay. Okay this perfume is nice so I don't really get that rating but I kind of also do get it. So hear me out here ,this perfume is the type you'd get for a present smell it a couple of times then put away, only to come back to it in a couple of months and kind of like it after it's finished you probably keep the pretty bottle but don't repurchase because it's not needed. In conclusion its a nice pretty lactonic sweet fruity perfume .

bathcatz

I purchased this 8 years after first smelling it when it came out. I remember wanting to buy this but instead repurchased Dot by marc jacobs which was my signature scent at 18. I get sweet lactonic nutty notes. I remember it smelling a bit more fruity or maybe my nose changed. I feel the plum, praline and cashmere pair up and gang up on the other notes bc its all I really smell on my skin. It is a nice scent but I feel that at my age it's not a perfume that I need in my collection.

lretseh

Delightfully interesting for such a cheap perfume. Inoffensive and young. Good to have in your collection.

D Bomb

After extensive research, I got this as a blind buy, and an absolutely LOVE it! It starts off sweet patchouli. Most fruit-choulis are low in patchouli to me, and it is probably my favorite note ever. The patchouli is not that sharp smell of the loathed hippie scent, it is the warm sweetness of decently aged patchouli. I get more a mélange of dark fruits, rather than individual fruit notes. I get only a little floral, sweet frangipani. In the dry down I get a sweet, velvety, earthy, almost fruity scent.
It is not super complex, but it makes me happy, especially on a cold day. It may be cloying to me in warmer weather. It lasts for more than 10 hours on my skin and projects moderately. It can be had for a low price. The bottle is very cute, but a pain to have to lay on its side.

beckibre

A perfume very close to my heart. This was the first ‘grown up’ perfume i’d ever bought. Though not the most sophisticated perfume, i still do find myself having the occasional reminiscent sniff every now and then. This immediately brings me back to being about 12 years old being so happy and excited to own this. If i’m honest i can’t really seem to pick up any other notes than berries as it is rather flat and lacks a sort of dimension and depth. The price is actually incredible imo as in the uk a 100ml bottle you’ll normally find in places like body care for about £10 which you can’t really argue with. The sillage and lasting power are both fair and id say are above average for a celebrity perfume. The bottle is quite pretty though it stays tucked away in my drawer away from my perfume stand. Say what you will about this perfume but the wave of nostalgia i experience from every spray is priceless. :)

ElysiaE

If I spray this on the back of my neck, I can smell beautiful floral wafts all day. If I spray it on my chest, I pick up on the synthetic notes and can hardly stand to wear it.

rocsta6

Blind bought a tester of this at an equivalent of 5 dollars for the full sized bottle and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. This smells way more expensive than the price I got it for. I love the sweetness and fruitiness with the woody, musky base...so good!! This also lasts a while on my skin and clothes. I was really lucky on this one

Nursemike

Wow, I really liked the smell of this. It smells very unisex. Its delicious and edgy and doesn't smell like any other fragrance. Was a blind buy I did not toss or leave in a public lavatory. Second repurchase after draining the first. It wasn't something I wasted on spraying the couch. I like it.

christabella

I think it's almost identical to Viva la Juicy Gold Couture. Can someone who owns both confirm this?

I don't understand the comparisons with La Vie Este Belle though, there's no similarities except that they're both sweet perfumes.

aray

This fragrance is one of those that leave you utterly frustrated and enamored at the same time. It’s such a yummy, zesty, delicious scent but due to its absolutely atrocious longevity, I can’t help but dislike it. I adore the pralined berries and the slightly dirty frangipani (my nose detects no patchouli and no plum here) but it’s merely a ghost of its potential. This could have been a beast mode killer scent but it falls ever so short.
Way too juicy and edible to be compared to Flowerbomb, IMO.

Perfumedprince

My wife got this as a present which didn't last too long, ended up giving it away.

The description of the notes make it sound like a wonderful scent however at first spritz it is an alcoholic syrup that tries to be sweet and ends up as woody scent that barely lasts.

Pastybarbieloves

Honestly its not bad. Its one of three celebrity fragrances that I think are worth owning. This is so unique and not too sweet or immature. I hated this in my early teens when it was first gifted to me, but a few years later grew to like it. Not a favourite by any means, but a good little handbag one (especially in the 30ml). Easily Katy Perry’s best among some shockers.

kkaattjjeess

Killer Queen is a decent perfume (especially for the price) in my opinion, it doesn't suit the name whatsoever though. I have the 100 ml bottle and still have 1/3 left and I'm bored with it.

Unless you know and absolutely love this perfume, I would advise to buy a smaller bottle. It's cute, sweet and fruity, sillage and longevity weak. I was applying this 3-4 times a day while at home in quarantine but felt like it just evaporates in 2-3 hours. I wouldn't think to call this a dupe for Flowerbomb.

Eternity Girl

Im one of the lucky ones whose chemistry works with Killer Queen to the extent that its a pretty good dupe for Flowerbomb.
Side by side (left wrist/right wrist) there is a slight difference but the drydown is exact. The price point is great and these days I feel really reluctant spending alot of dollars on scents that don't last a whole lot more than a more affordable option.
Beautiful :)

Ok I’m going to be honest, I wanted to like it. I blind bought this one, when it came at first glance the bottle was actually very beautiful, bulky but beautiful. So with much anticipation I took the cap off and gave it a spray. I knew immediately apon spraying it that I made a mistake. It smells like an old lady, and it’s super synthetic smelling to me. The chemical smell gave me a headache within ten minutes. I hated it so much that I gave it away for free. Usually I would just sell something if I didn’t like it but I was so eager to get rid of it that I let them have it for free. Now all this being said please take into consideration that I am only 23, but perhaps to an older woman this would be a favorite of theirs. But it was certainly NOT the one for me.

elledeelee

Had this for over a year and picked it up today purely to review it, and in doing so had to wipe a quite substantial layer of dust off the bottle! This was a blind buy mistake, but thankfully only a cheap one. I never wear this nowadays unless I'm doing housework in my pjs. To me this starts out like the scent of supermarket own brand men's shaving gel, then it's all just bergamot and generic sweetness. Very occasionally I smell some kinds of alcoholic fruits of the forest but this is a scent I can only smell when I'm not trying to smell it..... Overall it's cloying, cheap and generic smelling, although it has in the past garnered me compliments from other people. He himself said to me "you're too classy for that scent." Which I think is a lovely compliment too! I suppose that is what you get for spending less than a tenner on 100ml.

AudreysMama223

Gorgeous bottle.

I think this is beautifully blended and not at all screechy. I can distinctly smell red fruits/berries, praline and patchouli, but despite being able to pick out individual notes, it is still very smooth to my nose.

There's something delightfully sexy about this in a cheeky way.

Lasting power and sillage on me are abysmal which is why I will not repurchase, but I will enjoy my current one ounce bottle.

Bad_Girl_Bex

@tyekristopher I haven't gotten around to trying the blue one yet, but it's on my list. I'm happy to hand over my money to anyone who'll make me a nice smell, even if those people are socialism-spouting lunatics who don't see the irony in their business models. Capitalism Ho!

tyekristopher

The only thing I really liked about this fragrance was the bottle . The scent was a little too spicy for my liking . I preferred the one in the blue bottle myself . I definitely pick up more spice in killer queen,it’s heavy in patchouli . If you like spicy I would recommend

maci2222

Heavy patchouli. I can't get much fruit or caramel out of this. Smells kind of cheap.

Bad_Girl_Bex

This is a perfume that I would never have bought for myself. I can't stand Katy Perry

I received this for Christmas from my mum, who always puts a perfume in with my little selection of gifts and at first I was thinking "Oh dear, I think she might have gotten it a bit wrong this time!" But she hadn't. It was I who was in the wrong for not having taken the time to investigate this fragrance before now, because upon first spray, it completely won me over. (Not to the point of liking Katy Perry of course...just to the idea that not everything attached to her name was going to be a miserably tacky experience.)

Warm caramel notes and juicy, berry, fruit accords explode upon first spritz, with a darker rounding out from the patchouli, bringing a smile to my face almost instantly. I've received countless compliments from various people upon wearing this fragrance; the man of the house loves how it smells on me and I just find it a really easy, tasty, slightly sexy gourmand with echoes of other fragrances I really enjoy: like TBS White Musk Smoky Rose, Cacharel's Gloria and the original formulation of Hugo Boss Deep Red. It's not that it smells like, or is a dupe for any of those fragrances, simply that it contains some similar elements and gives me the same happy, content feelings upon wearing it.

Since being gifted that first bottle, I've repurchased it another three times and I have my mother to thank for discovering this little gem. It's a really good, easy to wear, daily-reach fragrance and comes in at an extremely sensible price point. The bottle itself looks really pretty - not including the ghastly plastic crown lid which always snaps off - but is a right pain in the backside, if you're trying to get it to sit still and not roll off a shelf. It also comes with a shower gel and body lotion (in the gift box format) and both are also lovely to use alone or layer up with the perfume.

Is it the height of sophistication? No. But then I'm not a sophisticated woman. Is it cheerful, charming and fun? Yes. Is it worth the price? Definitely. Will I continue to purchase it? Heck yes, as long as it's being produced and sold, I will keep adding it to my shopping basket, because it's become something of a reliable 'old faithful' to me.

Give it a go. You really don't have a lot to lose.

Tl;dr Mother knows best, lol

LuluBear

Used to wear this in High School. It was the first perfume my mum bought me outside of Avon Little Red Dress. This is sweet. I agree with the praline and the berries a lot. It is like Britney's midnight fantasy but I find this to be heavier and deeper when the Britney one is much more on the fruity sheer side. This packs a punch for sure. Not sure whether I would re purchase as this just reminds me too much of High School. I don't think it's too juvenile, it just holds a different time period in my head.

Yukio Okumura

Sweet on the way out and until the end.
However the impression is that it was not well built, on the way out is a mixture that you do not identify anything, just know it is sweet, it may only happen on my skin; later in evolution the sweet of space for a touch of liqueur. With time about 40 minutes it becomes fuller, and close to the skin. Also, from departure to the end it is possible to feel the licorice note which gives an 'artificial' touch to the perfume, (sweet plastic). Therefore, it also has a fruity side that adds to the sweet. It doesn't project much, it stays close to the fixed skin around 6 hours, for those who like it is a good choice.

juxtapositionjones

This has so much potential that I kind of feel sorry for it.
It starts off sweet. It's a gorgeous sweetness that many may find synthetic or fake, but I love it.
It didnt last long.
It dried down within 5 minutes and turned all plum and patchouli.
Silage is so low. If I sniff where I sprayed I get a whiff......but that's it. It goes soft, that softness does last for a bit. A few hours at the most. So longevity is ok.
I adore the bottle. The cap feels cheap though.
I guess my expectations for this were too high. So I accept it for what it is. And for it's price, it's lovely.

mevans

It's a celebrity fragrance that's under $20. So let's start there. I wasn't expecting very much and I wasn't disappointed. Following in the footsteps of her other fragrances, like Purr and Meow, Killer Queen is sweet, fruity, a bit floral and a bit synthetic but pretty mass-appealing. It's a body spray type scent with good longevity you'd usually see in a perfume. It's really quite good for the price so by keeping my expectations realistic I can appreciate it.

The comparison to Flowerbomb I found interesting. At the time of this review, a large number of people had noted it reminded them of Flowerbomb. Since I have both, I tested this theory and sprayed both on. I can say they are in the same family but Killer Queen is not a dupe for Flowerbomb in any way. Flowerbomb is much smoother and richer. They really diverge as the scent develops on the skin and by dry-down they smell nothing alike. This is one of those "get what you pay for" situations. It's also interesting that of those reviewing Flowerbomb, only a handful have mentioned Killer Queen. It may be more wishful thinking on the part of those owning Killer Queen that they have found a dupe for Flowerbomb which is much more pricey. In reality, not so much.

desireelucero

I have this and La Vie Est Belle, they're basically the same, only Killer Queen doesn't last as long and the sillage is moderate. If you want La Vie Est Belle but don't want to spend so much money or don't want people to smell you from across the room, this one's for you. I'm not a big fan of Katy but I love this. The bottle is very glamorous too and I love the concept of it, now I feel like a badass woman Freddie Mercury would've wrote a song about lol.

nuruluyungoktavia

This perfume quite good and suit for evening events. If I could visualize, it's like college girl wanna dating with her boyfriend in the fancy place haha.

Pro's:
- I noticed vanilla, patchouli, plum (it's very intense!) and berries
- Pretty packaging, adorable
- Sillage's sooooooo quite enormous
- And longevity's sooo good (in my skin or my clothes)
- Cheap price (only 27 bucks)

Con's
- You couldn't put it randomly on your desk
- I don't have idea why 21 voter said it similar with LVB (?)
- If I spray it too much, I will feel little queasy

DamaskRose

I wanted to love Killer Queen. The bottle is beautiful. I am fascinated by Freddy Mercury's music, and his personal story. The initial spray of this fragrance is delicious. I was moved by a review that I read on another site, where the poster said that it smelled like the sheets in her luxury suite in Paris! Sadly, after an hour, there is no scent left on my skin at all. I must have the strangest body chemistry in the world. No one has ever remarked that I smell good who didn't have his nose down my cleavage! I gave this one, and Royal Revolution, to my 28 year old daughter. She doesn't wear fragrance at all, but took them for the gorgeous bottles. I do think this is a very unisex fragrance, and might smell fabulous on the right man!

tessiebee

You can get this for 10-15gbp, and I've seen it in sales for less. That alone makes this a basement bargain. I put it on 1.5 hours ago, it's a skin scent now so longevity is poor. This is a black forest gateaux of a perfume, opens with forest fruits and a dark sweetness, almost toffee like scent. Then it turns into a warm patchouli dipped in praline concoction. I can't yet identify all the notes, can't smell flowers at all. Its nice but not anywhere near a LOVE
-----
Other reviews say this smells like FlowerBomb and LVEB. I dont get that, both of those are really sweet chemical florals. This is a bit on the dark chocolate side of things.

Carlysfx1

I blind-purchased this because I had run out of my beloved Black Opium by YSL and was told this fragrance was a dead ringer for it. For me, personally, it smells nearly exactly like black opium, but with a considerably sweeter note that I actually love. The longevity is decent; it lasted me about 6 hours on my skin before reapplying, and the sillage is moderate. I got complimented in an elevator, but no further. On me, I get a praline/coffee/sandalwood bomb with the faintest berry kiss, which is exactly what I wanted, but it definitely isn’t everyone’s taste. If you’re a Black Opium fan, this will be a safe blind buy for you.

aussiecolognelover88

I’ll preface this by saying I am a male that loves to wear female scents just as much as male scents, so this is a male perspective of this Killer Queen.

I have been wanting to try the Katy Perry fragrances for sometime now, but I had heard that they were all sugary, saccharine sweet scents for young girls, so I thought perhaps that it just wasn’t in the cards. Well then I saw Killer Queen on special and decided to just go for it, suffice to say, I really like it.

It is really quite a sophisticated scent, and, in my opinion, very gender neutral, so much so that I’m surprised that it isn’t being marketed as a unisex frag. Katy has just as many male fans as there are female, it’s silly that she hasn’t let the boys in on the fun. It opens up quite dark and alluring, and develops a sweetness with a touch of warmth.

Performance is terrible, it lasted about an hour and then I couldn’t smell it all, even on clothes, and the sillage is just as bad. For a 100ml bottle though, it costs $24.99, so I didn’t expect power frag performance.

All in all, a nice fragrance that has you smelling great, albeit, only for a little while. The stunning bottle deserves a mention too, what a beauty. Any guys out there wondering if this is also good for a male to wear, I say yes!

98tph

Killer Queen can be easily the best one out of all Katy Perry's collection! It's kind of sitting at the top with Purr. This one feels like royalty, it's a strong and sexy mature scent for women but at the same time balanced perfectly with its sweetness. Patchouli stands out the most with the berries, bergamot and plum which blended very well together.

Essy_C

I get mostly red fruits and candy, and for that I can buy Al Rehab Midnight for a fraction of the cost and 10 times the sillage.

I'm still looking for a woody patchouli to love.

Mandyyy

This is in the same scent family of Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb Eau De Parfum and Lancôme La Vie est Belle Eau De Parfum. It is weaker and doesn’t last as long, but you can it for $5-8 on eBay, so it’s a great bargain alternative. The bottle, while looking nice, is annoying to store because of the shape. The price and the shape make it a good choice for keeping in your bag for midday touchups. An all around nice sweet floral fruitchouli.

Saraviah

I snagged a 3.4oz bottle of this for $15. I really love "La Vie Est Belle - Lancome" ($100) but was hesitant to re-purchase with it's hefty price tag. I saw a lot of people comparing it to this & seeing as the notes are very similar I gave it a shot.
I sprayed both onto the opposite wrist in order to compare: This one is more of a fresh, dark fruity, sweet VS rich, powdery, gourmand.
You do get what you pay for as the longevity & sillage are about half of what LVEB has to offer. But at it's low price I don't mind reapplying it every 4 hours or so (focus more on clothing & hair if you want to get a longer life from it.)
The bottle is extremely gorgeous but I wish it came with a little stand so the bottle could sit straight up. It takes up so much space because you have to lay it down sideways.
All in all - I will continue to purchase this to get my LVEB fix as it smells extremely similar. It's by no means an exact dupe, but it has the same base aspect and that's good enough for me. I agree w/ a review that this would be a summer version of LVEB & I actually like this better! I'm a bartender at a nightclub & this one snags me a lot of compliments!

LadyLynZ

I adore this fragrance! The good ole fragrance DNA of fruity, sweet, prailine, and patchouli. Honestly, you can’t go wrong. It was less than half the price of higher end fragrances with similar DNA and came in the most darling (a little cheap but that’s ok) bottle. Performance isn’t terrible considering the price point. And after testing it out at work, I’ve already received several compliments. Oh, and not as juvenile as I was expecting. Hence, the work test.

Beth325

This is a very nice scent, a sweet perfume with a little patchouli. I decided to try this because I've had pretty good luck with Katy Perry perfumes so far. I'm enjoying both her Mad Potion line and her Indi line. I've also been curious because I'm starting to enjoy a little Patchouli, especially sweeter Patchoulis like Pink Sugar Sparks.

I'm wearing this right now, and I definitely get some of the berries in the scent. It's sweet on my skin. I'm trying to sniff around for the praline, and I think I'm getting a bit of it, but more berries for sure. The patchouli is nice, and not at all overbearing. This is the type of patchouli I enjoy in my fragrances. A little bit to add some depth, mystery, and pzazz, but not too much where its overbearing. Overall I'm pretty happy with this one. My only complaint is that it doesn't project very well in my opinion. It smells lovely on my skin, but it's not as strong as I thought it would be. Wish it projected a bit more. I bought at small .5 bottle because I wanted to try it, and still deciding if I will repurchase when I finish this little bottle.

I'm curious about the rest of the line, but I heard most of the others are in the floral family. I was curious about Oh So Sheer because of the caramel note, but if I find Killer Queen to be light, Sheer might be too light. Not sure if it's worth it for the caramel note. Spring Reign and Royal Revolution I heard are floral, which isn't usually my go-to, but I do happen to enjoy Britney's Curious and Jessica Simpson's Fancy Love, so I'm not sure if it's worth the $ to try the others in this line or not. Any insight from people who have tried them?

michellepop96

SWAP anyone?
I have an almost full 100ml bottle, only been sprayed a couple times.

Tine1world

Don't you just hate it when you forget to submit?.
There really isn't anything more that I feel I can add about this fragrance that hasn't already been covered by other reviewers here.
I bought this whilst travelling and at some point had my son tuck this away for me in storage, as I travelled out of state and needed to lighten my luggage load. at the time it was 20. aus dollars
I bought this in 2015 and would have liked to see a bottle stand included with the presentation, otherwise storage of this flacon needs to be in the over sized box it came in.
It's a strong berry patchouli on my skin, not very long lived with a smackral of floral notes with a slight gourmand note hinting in the background, but that is on my skin.
It's a fun fragrance if you don't expect too much from it and probably a wonderful gift for someone.

I must add for those of you who have extensive experience in gardening, celosia has no distinct odour. It's a colourful grass, a annual planted for it's foliage.

carrico1986

My favorite part of this perfume is the chocolate note that comes through about 20 minutes after you spray it. On first spray it smells sickly sweet but thankfully it calms down to a sweet but pleasant gourmand scent. It lasts about 3-4 hours on me.

Kin

Affordable and elegant. Sweet and fresh.

mhdavis

This is kind of a mess especially at first but I do like it. The bergamot throws me off a little as I do not enjoy it in this type of fragrance (with the praline and what not). However once this sits on my skin for a few minutes the bergamot and berries subside and then the patchouli becomes more dominant. A little while longer and the praline takes over and the scent becomes softer and more enjoyable. I just have to give it time, this actually lasts several hours as a skin scent on me. Not too bad for a celebrity fragrance.

justfloral

Cotton Candy + butter.
(am I the only one to smell butter?).

katwastaken

I keep a bottle in my purse during low times for on the go pick me ups. This is such a sexy scent, it immediately makes me feel amazing. Its not something I can wear daily because I become nose blind to it. Worn once in a while it lasts all day and it always lingers in clothing. Its very sweet, but blends perfectly with the praline. Its a great balance.

Abjora

Pretty likable and gourmand, unique too. I wore this in high school before I was super into fragrances and my boyfriend at the time loved it, even more than I did (he also had a crush on Katy Perry too so maybe that had something to do with it lol). I think it's just one of those scents that most males like. The scent is very girly-girl and sexy, I'd say older teens and women in their 20's would like this but I'm a firm believer you are never too "old" for a type of perfume. It's cheap enough, and it last longer than those body mists so it's a great starter perfume!

felicite34

No reason for me to like this, it is totally not my usual style of perfume. But I DO like it very much! Very cherry to me, and not a total bitter patchouli note to content with. If you are looking for a berry-cherry this is a fun one.

Desi_mystar

On me, this is flowerbomb+dark plummy goodness. I think I actually like it better than FB and it is certainly cheaper. Wearable, not dated (I dont think "teenager"when I smellthis, even though it is sweet.)

What I don't like: Katy herself, the bottle look/shape/style (it doesn't stand up on it's own and is cheap in its packaging), and the fact that the top doesnt screwoff to allow me to decant it into a less hideous bottle.

nirvana95

A delicious fragrance, super sweet and yummy. The longevity isn't great, around 3 hrs so it definitely needs to be topped up. It is a bit generic but very easy to wear for any occasion. It reminds me of a soft version of La Vie Est Belle from Lancome.

samantham-123

I got my first bottle of this from Feelingsexy.com, one of my favorite perfume online stores; and it was really strong and lasted ages.
Now i go to Priceline and buy a 30ml gift set and its almost like water, i smell nothing. So i go to Chemist warehouse and buy a 100ml bottle, its slightly stronger but still weak as water compared to that first bottle i had.
Im not sure how or why, but the one i got online was thick and velvety rich, the plum was so strong i could almost detect a slight coconut note in there and if i sprayed too much it gave me a head ache because it was so strong annd lasted hours. But im gonna just spray like no tomorrow to get rid of these and go back to my trusted source lol, it may cost me an extra 10 bucks in postage but worth it. Im dissapointed in whats happening to all my favorite fragrances...

Hewlett

This scent reminds me of a cheaper version of V&R Flowerbomb and I also get the comparison with LVEB. The staying power is not as great but the price is ALOT more reasonable :)

cassandra5322

A patchouli based scent softened by sweet pralines, with a heart of soft jasmine. Berries give it a slightly tart zing in the opening notes. It dries down to mostly patchouli and a soft musk staying earthy and sweet throughout it's stages. I like this scent, sweet, and classy, although I think this best suits people under the age of 40.

cedar_lea

This is praline and cashmere over fruitichouli blend. It's not as strong of a berry scent as I expected from the reviews.

The attitude of this is interesting. This queen isn't a killer at all. She's generally a nice person, young but self-possessed and thoughtful.

Eternity Girl

In 2013 I wore my first 50ml bottle of Killer Queen non stop every day until it was empty. I was living in the country with no perfume shops except the local chemist who did stock this, but at an exorbitant price. I drove 2 and a half hours to the city to stock up because I got a bit panicky. So I stocked up with 3 x 100ml bottles and gift pack of a baby 30ml plus bath gel and moisturizer and figured I had it covered.
Its the praline in it that I absolutely adore and its a dupe for Flowerbomb on me. But at that stage I didn't know because I didn't know of or have Flowerbomb yet. So I genuinely love this fragrance PLUS its a dupe for this other major perfume love for me, but way more affordable. It doesn't have the same longevity but I don't mind reapplying.
I still enjoy it very much and I adore the bottle. A beautiful ruby jewel with a gold crown. Its fun and beautiful.

karine.vanesse

It smells like Flowerbomb on my skin, but with less longevity and sillage. It also smells a little bit darker, I like it.

simplegeek

The bottle:
The bottle is beautiful! Love how it looks like jewel matches with the theme the name of the perfume. It's a nice color gives us something different to look forward to then from her previous perfumes. Great bottle to have in a collection.

Inside the bottle:
Dark, Sweet & Sexy. Thats what this perfume is. When sprayed you get praline, fruits and patchouli. When dried you smell the plum, cashmeran and the florals. If your wondering about how strong is the patchouli is it's not that strong as you might think. You can tell it's there but all the other notes make it light and doesn't have that earthy smell it just gives the perfume a darker smell and shows off the sweetness of the perfume.Longevity very long can last pretty much the whole day!

Overall:
This perfume is perfect for someone who loves a sweet, dark, gourmand scents.
If you like Black Opium from YSL you might like this one too! I find this one as the lighter daytime version of Black Opium.

N8vDoll

Killer Queen is a mess. I get she was going for a more mature scent, but this stuff smells like an old lady poppin' pralines at a patchouli convention.

munettambar

I dislike this fragrance, Imagine mixing the delicious perfume Wonderstruck Enchanted by Taylor (red bottle) and add a couple drops of LVEB, now add a small drop of patchouli but wait you've added a whole bottle! I have already accepted the fact that I hate patchouli in any fragrance it just comes out in my skin and roars and pushes any note aside! It ruined this for me.

lailabellemakeup

I'm surprised by how much I love this one. The bottle itself is gorgeous, really well done. I don't know if I really smell all the notes listed but they work really well together. It smells a lot more expensive than it is in my opinion. I think I bought a 3.4oz for like $20 or so on amazon. Definitely worth the price. More floral than I thought it would be but still very nice. I'd rate it an 8/10.

JesperBlacxxi

Let’s start with the bottle. Gorgeous. Probably Katy’s best after Spring Reign (I love pink, what can I say?). It’s classy, expensive looking and just really pretty. Now, for the scent. Not a favourite of mine, I’ll say that. It’s great, don’t get me wrong. The initial hit is alcoholic, but once it dries on the skin, it’s chocolate and berries, but incredibly powdery. Honestly, how powdery it is makes this fragrance a little worse than it could be. Save the powder for a better time. This fragrance isn’t really anything new or special, but it’s definitelt pretty. The Sillage is not horrible and the longevity is pretty good, but not groundbreaking. Overall, I’d give it a good 6/10. But it if you’re into it.

justchillinxo

To me this smells disgusting and cheap. All I smell are dirty berries/some sort of cough syrup cheap stripper perfume

AHeartLikeMine

Overall, this one's a winner. I blind-bought it in a set with Royal Revolution (which I've also reviewed) for about $9 for the two 1 oz bottles. It's definitely worth it if you're into praline/patchouli or looking for a good date night or winter scent. Plus, the bottles are super-pretty :)

The top notes are kind of meh for me, since the musk/cashmere/incense scent is present from the beginning. Those notes are always at least in the background of the scent, so that much is somewhat linear. There is a bit of dark berry/fruit scent at first, but it's mature and seductive, not sweet and sugary.

After around 10 minutes, the praline notes take center stage for the next 2/3 hours, before fading into a sweet/smoky/spicy incense scent (it reminds me of the incense that my husband burns). If I didn't know I was smelling praline, I'd never have described that note correctly. But it is indeed the praline, with a nice burnt-sugar with a hint of creamy scent.

This one LASTS! It's been over 13 hours since I sprayed it on the back of my hand. It's a skin scent now, but there's still a distinct scent of patchouli/incense.

“Own the Throne”

Sounds very promising for a “bold fragrance seeker” like me.
I told my ex boyfriend about this perfume, and VOILA!! He bought me a bottle of Killer Queen in 2016 (I still have it on my drawer).

I get sweet berries and a hint of flower as the top notes (less than 15 minutes).
As the dry down I get intensive dark choco-praline and nice heavy patchouli.
I can say this is a nice-sweet-feminine fragrance. It’s very light and you’ll never go wrong with this baby.

Killer Queen stays for 2 hours on my wrist and about 3-4 hours on my neck.
Only for the patchouli, it stay for 4 hours and more (slightly noticeable from 15-30cm). My body always have good chemistry with patchouli.
Usually, I need about 5 sprays to make everyone around me to smell my perfume.
I got few compliments from friends. Mostly said that I smell pleasant.

Sadly, this is not what I’m looking for from a perfume.
I need something more bold and give a statement or identity.
But, I highly recommend Killer Queen to young woman around 18-25 as their daily fragrance or for woman who has youthfull-girly image.
I like it. Just like it.

gtabasso

oh america, the fruity vanilla garbage that you love; vanilla in the top that calls itself praline then fruit and some patchouli but much lighter, fruitier and girlie than a La Petite Robe Noire; berries, plum, hint of patch and maybe some underlying frangipane; I actually like this but it is like smearing jam on your skin. Fruit.

Violetgoblin

This was a complete blind buy. I was in a phase (don't laugh!) where I'd distress after a long day teaching special education by going to the K-Mart near my home and blind buy fragrance...and yes, 90% were absolutely celebrity fragrances.
I sprayed it in the car (of course) only to find that I hated it. Flowerbomb. I despise Flowerbomb and Rolf scents in general. Also Bath and Body Works Black Amethyst. Lots of patchouli and quite heavy. Pretty much the exact opposite of what I favor-light, soft and simple. It reminds me of night, November (my least favorite month-I'm an August/September kind of girl), rainy, cold days, and having to bundle into a jacket to brace against the chill. Bah.

MrsTefee

Oh my gosh!! I blind bought this because it was so inexpensive, I couldn't pass it up! I first sprayed it and instantly loved this. It opens with a sweet citrus fruit and turns quickly into a musky praline/chocolate plum of yummyness!!

I love this but as with most celeb scents I wish it lasted longer. Only a couple hours and its gone.

Raven7229

I feel like this perfume is more suited for nighttime than daytime, but I also feel like it could be worn at any time, if that makes sense. It's very fruity to begin with, but on me, it turns into a woodsy type of thing after a little while in cold weather. At first I hated this fragrance, but now it's grown on me, so never underestimate the power of giving a frag a chance; you never know if you'll like it more the second time around unless you give it a shot. In my opinion, Katy Perry's produced another crowd pleaser with this one; while I might not like her new music, her perfumes almost never let me down.

cocogirl96

Blind buy at Marshalls a few years back. It has a really pretty bottle and that's what caught my eye. I love the scent. It's quite generic and safe. Which can be good or bad depending on who you are. I think most people would like it. It's fruity and musky and somewhat fresh. It also has a decent lasting power. This one is a one time only purchase type of fragrance. it's good for what it is but I don't find myself wanting to buy it again.

If you are under 20 I highly recommend it, but if you are over 20, it's okay. Nothing special.

over all i give it a 7/10

Contessa01

I put off buying this because I found it to be a bit generic when I smelled it. I gave it another test today and it was on sale as it is as every pharmacy in Australia it seems at the moment! I decided to buy it because it was on sale and because the bottle is quite pretty. I don't like the fact however that I see this everywhere I find that to be a bit offputting for some reason, I feel like everyone wears it and as I get older I find I feel increasingly that I like wearing less popular 'at the minute' perfumes. I will say this - it has pretty decent staying power which is quite rare indeed for a celebrity perfume. It is a fruity berry juicy fragrance. I would say the best things about this fragrance are that it has good staying power, the bottle is pretty, it smells better than an average celebrity scent and it is a pretty safe blind buy if you like floral fruit fragrances. (I also tried the blue version as well and found this to be quite nice too with good staying power). A solid like for me.

Just received this about an hour ago and had to test it right away! The reviews here had me intrigued but a little worried that it would be either A) too masculine or B) body spray weak. So far, none are true on my skin, phew!!
The opening is pretty potent and sweet, berries, plum and something darker (patch?).
Within 30 min it has gone to a sweet, warm praline that I keep getting a nice whiff of here and there. I do get a LVEB vibe, not a dupe by any means but the same general impression. Works for me, I adore LVEB! I assume it’s the praline/patch combination... I will have to update about the longevity later, I think Sillage is pretty decent at least I can smell myself kinda enveloped in a little fragrant cloud right now. Not ginormous (the girls here at work would have said something!) but decent. I don’t think this smells cheap or vulgar at all, I could see myself wearing this quite a bit!! Very pleased with this inexpensive blind buy!

ETA: longevity isn’t the best on my skin. After a few hours I have to really sniff my wrist to smell it. That’s alright, wish it was longer but it’s not too awful. The bottle is hideously cheap, as is the packaging, but I guess costs have to be cut somewhere and this isn’t a $100 fragrance

Being an online shopper i frequently blind purchase fragrances; which while sometimes can have its disadvantages( TF black orchid im talking about you..) is majority of the time successful, as I discover things i would otherwise not know that i love if walking past it in a store.
Killer queen is just that, ive seen it in stores so many times before and thought nothing of it; years a ago i had Purr which i gave away because it was too sickly sweet and really had no interest in trying anymore of Katys fragrance line. But when i read the note list on this one i knew it wouild be good.
It really is just a fruitier less intense version of flowerbomb, and some may find that disappointing if its not what they were after, but im actually pretty happy about it because i had flowerbomb extreme years ago and have not ever been able to afford another bottle once i ran out, so this is a much cheaper alternative.
Its floral and sweet, warm and clean smelling and is very fitting of the bottles wine red colour. Smells very high quality and classy
Update: Im really loving this actually, the praline comes through as a warm sweetness without being sickly and sugary. The longevity is a bit dissapointing but for 24 dollars i can deal with reapplying every couple of hours. Its onevthat i know ill replace when its finished. Not bad for a blind purchase. I seem to get a faint coconut note every now and again but it could just be the fruitiness of the plum. I loce this one, i really do

This lasts like crazy! The next morning upon waking it's just an exceptional musky scent. I am SO happy to have this!
The bottle is kinda cute but not made of expensive glass so it's kinda cheap looking. Which by the way doesn't even matter when you wake up smelling this nice.
Advertising may be directed at young girls/women, but this scent grows UP over night! It's still youthful but compared to the very start, it's possibly 10-15 years older.
I believe I'm going to choose this for my scent of the day! May you enjoy as much YOUR scent today!

imacityknight2

I first smelled this as a blind buy bc I was able to snag a rollerball for $6. Upon first smelling this it was very different than my go to smells. It was sweet but there was also a darker, thicker, mature something there. It’s masculine at first spray but just sweet enough to not be considered unisex. The drydown is where I fall in love with KQ. It goes so creamy on me! Almost the exact opposite of the opening. As for comparisons, I’ve never smelled anything like this. And it doesn’t remind me of flowerbomb or LVEB at all. I hate those lol.

Sillage: 6
Longevity: 8

Kimmychoo 01

Upon first spray , very very strong !! Almonst overpowering . Smells masculine , like an after shave, not sweet or feminin!! The dry down is a some what musky powdery smell , but is still very masculine . A no for me .

jayneybaby86

Wow you cannot tell that this is a celebrity perfume it smells so expensive!
To me this smells similar to viva la juicy, like it could be a flanker of it. It is sweet, creamy and fruity! Smells absolutely amazing, very sexy and not a generic sweet celeb perfume. This to me is very sophisticated and classy for any age.

I bought this in B & M bargains, only £12.99 for 100ml!
This is one of my fave celeb scents. If you like viva la juicy, then just blind buy this for a fraction of the price. Long lasting and great projection, you will not be disappointed.

charlotteding

Lovely perfume, as a celeb fragrance I have to admit I assumed it would be sickly sweet and only suitable for young girls..i was wrong . This is lovely it does have the same warm delicious feel as lveb or flowerbomb but less rich. I find this doesn't last long on me at all but at £12 per 100ml you can afford to go crazy with the spraying.

lucia.andreea.neagu

A gift from a family friend. Not really my kind although I like it, but it has a suprprisingly good lasting power and sillage.

Redrusty66

Very interesting, at first spitz I thought I had grabbed Midnight Heat by mistake almost to the point of a double take, currently the best plum/Patch bomb I've found. I was "um, I smell Midnight eat big time"..lol I was initially concerned about this prior to its arrival. I had previously gotten Purr for my son's mother and although it's nice, It wasn't quite for my chemistry. This however is totally different and works very well with my skin. The dry down is a bit sweeter than Midnight Heat, where-as it stays quite dark, this one did bring out some praline sweetness. But it stays very sultry and does not turn into candy. It does work well for men as is mentioned in some other reviews but is clearly workable on either. I mostly got Plum and Patch for the first hour and then a settled berry, plum, patch and praline for the rest of it's stay. All around I'm very glad I got this and wasn't scared off by the usual celebrity snobbery. I'm not a fan of Katy (nor do I dislike her, she's just another person to me) but I do love this fragrance.

greyhoundmom

Killer Queen is a lot of fun, very reminiscent of a Britney Spears fragrance.. and I love the name and the beautiful bottle! Red is a great color for this perfume, it is a bright and cheery cherry with a hint of patchouli for depth. The praline does make it sweet but it doesn't become toothache-y or cloying, just youthful and fun.

You can't beat the price either. I found a brand new 0.5 oz on eBay for $7...definitely not going to break your wallet to try it out :) I'm not necessarily a fan of Katy Perry so I appreciate this perfume on its own merit and don't take it too seriously. It's a great casual cheapie and a light, fresh, pretty way to enjoy the fruitchouli trend.

White gold-mumma

I wear this during cold months only as it is too heavy otherwise. When I do wear it, I make sure I spray at least 30 mins before I leave the house because I don't like the top notes, they're fruity but too strong and unusual for me. But I love the dry down. Chocolate caramel warm deliciousness.

toni64

A lady at work was wearing this perfume she smelled similar to Beckham signature so I thought id try it.
On me it doesn't smell anything like Beckham signature it has almost a masculine scent not fruity at all . Still nice but different so will probably still wear to use up the bottle

lozylaura1995

I get SOOOO many compliments when I wear this, I love the smell which is why I made it my signature for the last couple of years. it mixes really well with my skin. HOWEVER when my friend borrows it, it creates a different kind of smell, I guess it just really matches my natural scent.

I get a very smooth vanilla scent even though it doesn't seem to have any in it, could have fooled me. strong cashmeran effect too.

it lasts forever on me, I put it on about 5 hours before I went to bed, slept in it, woke up and its midday the next day and I can still smell it on my skin but not overpowering sillage like when I first spritz it on.

I could wear this forever, it compliments me without trying too hard. I don't care if it's not an expensive designer fragrance, for me it's still an essential pick.

gabbi4god

Really yummy and a bit Naughty!

On me smells like Jasmine and Patchouli with an extra added sweetness.

Not typically a fan of the cheap celeb scents other than Jessica Simpsons Fancy. This one is cheap and typical of celebrity fragrances but none the less the scent is pleasurable. Worth the $12 you will probably pay.

Daisy143

This is very similar to Vampire by Body Fantasies. A little darker but this is a very good facsimile. I love Vampire and this is right up my alley.

Stasi

This doesn't remind me of Flowerbomb or LVEB at all. It smells like a sweet fruity body spray you'd get from Bath and Bodyworks and it's gone just as fast. If I didn't get this on clearance, I'd be REALLY disappointed. Don't waste your money.

Update: So, I've had this fragrance for... over a year. I had sniffed on my wrist before but I hadn't worn it for a full day. Well, I tried wearing it to work a few times. It's got a funky tone to it... I don't know. Maybe it's the patchouli, but I usually like patchouli.

0h.wow

LOVE this!!! It reminds me a lot of Flowerbomb, but with less patchouli and it's fresher, so I actually greatly prefer it to FB, and I already love FB as it is :) It doesn't smell like LVEB at all to me though, I don't get those comparisons, it's way lighter and fresher and not quite as sweet. Although, I could see it being like a summer version of LVEB. The bottle is super cute and actually looks high quality, not cheap (even though it is!) and the performance is pretty awesome for the price-it projects well and lasts several hours on my perfume eating skin. I'm super impressed, I have the .5 oz bottle but when I run out I'll get the biggest one I can, and it'll replace Flowerbomb in my wardrobe. I don't listen to pop music and don't really have an opinion of Katy Perry as an artist either way, but she's killing it in the perfume department! I've been impressed with every one of her perfumes that I've tried, keep it up Katy!

gud

Mine is Batch code: 5128 looked up on Checkfresh, manufactured 2015-05-08.
I would have liked this to be stronger and to last longer, but I love the look of the bottle, it's interesting, but does not stand up or fit in with other bottles so that is a little annoying. With no stand it falls over and sits on the side.
Praline is there, I can smell it toned down with a ton of alcohol, the whole scent experience is fleeting. A fun fragrance to not take seriously.

jennyxpanda

I just ordered this fragrance on amazon and I was a little disappointed when I received it because it smells just like tease from Victoria's secret it took me a while to warm up to this scent but I love it now, its really sexy and has a slight masculine undertone. <3

Exenidi

Strong dislike, very plastic sweet glue..wouldn't be on my shelf. I must say whoever created this flrag for her probably dislike her and masterfully transposed this in the cheap creation (cheap in the sense - vulgar)..

babbytwerk

I smelled this on a friend and its VERY VERY girly and sweet. Its about what you'd expect from a pop star like Katy perry. It smells amazing and delicious, and not cheap even though it is.

rogersouzab

this is so classy and amazing. when i first spray it's kinda fruity in a dark way, and as it dries it becomes very chocolate-ish and almond-ish. i could smell it all day.

samantha.hirsh.5

My 18 month old loves this one me...he snuggles into my neck and says " more more" which he normally says when he's asking for fruit! This is an inexpensive bottle of fun that shouldn't be taken too seriously. I don't get the praline notes on me at all, which is a shame. That being said, I love the berry, fruity goodness...kinda reminds me of the old Dewberry from The Body Shop that I drowned myself in during my teen years!

bruby

This one totally reminds me of Amarige de Givenchy or Chloe Narcisse. I sprayed this on my hand in the shop then forgot about it but kept on sniffing it throughout the day and struggled to remember which one it was as I definitely remembered I had not tried the Amarige. It lasted a few hours on my hand so I think I may give it a try.

tony5596

This fragrance is for a more mature or sophisticated crowd in my opinion. The opening is not as strong as I expected but the silage is good. I do get that LVEB vibe as others has mentioned and bit kind of reminds of a more powerful version of Between us by One direction which is a hidden gem that many people overlook which is good because it'll always be available and affordable.

TsarinaM

This is a powerful perfume. I drift into a powerful dream state when I wear it, and it is truly Queenly.

I would describe it as balsamic, patchouli, and ethereal with an almost woody undertone, yet sweet in a striking sort of way. It seems a scent for all of the ages of time, and the crystal bottle is truly an amulet.

God Bless!

anneschrock1982

My wife loved Vampire by Body Fantasies for years and it was her signature scent. She was so sad when it was discontinued. Imagine her delight when we bought a small bottle of this perfume and it is almost a dead ringer for the fragrance. Both are warm, seductive, and spicy. While Vampire has dark chocolate notes Killer Queen has praline and both are heavy on the citrus. This is a mature and lovely fragrance.

sophiesnose

This is one of those ones where I'm not really sure what's going on, but I know I like it. Lots of patchouli and sweetness, I have a hard time picking out anything else. My nose likes it, that's all that matters to me!

desertrose63

This one really surprised me!! I had smelled this in the store and thought 'too fruity', then got a used bottle in a lot that was of assorted used fragrances. The bottle itself is a 'cool' jewel and 'playful' as ,mine did not come with a 'stand'. The sexy caramel and the dry down is just delicious with out being too sweet. The initial berry blast becomes addictive. All in all a very nice gourmand that does not give you a headache or cavities from the usual teen directed fragrances. I may have to find a full bottle and won;t have to break the bank to do it. Highly recommend.

theperfumemaniac

I've already reviewed this, but does anyone else find it slightly masculine?

cmagjo04

I've loved this fragrance for years, mixed berries sweetness. I still rebuy often as it can be found ridiculously cheap in discount shops in the UK, as low as £10 for 100ml. It's one that's easy to wear any day in any season for me.

Tosia

I was so surprised when I smelled this scent. I sprayed it on a tester strip and people asked: "what's that!". Contrary to what people have said, this is neither straight up girly nor masculine. It's a sweet and charming scent with a dark and sophisticated twist; I can imagine a good girl with a powerful dark side wearing this! Lovely scent and the patchouli isn't overpowering which is a big problem with perfumes like this. Silage is a lot better than the other Killer Queens. Overall, it's sexy and pretty.

Babybug99

Smells like something a hip grandma would wear. Just seems like it was aimed for the older crowd. Smells very good though and lasts pretty long. Hip grandmas rock by the way.
