When I say this is the WORST fragrance I have ever smelled, I mean it. Blind bought at TJ (I'm a fan of RiRi's other frags). Definitely test before buying- went in the trash I couldn't couldn't consciously regift this.

liliabal78

I’ve just recently got a bottle and I love it. The suede in this mixed with plum ? amber and musk is so smoothe and well done. It’s not your typical seeet , girly scent. It’s mature, sexy, seductive , dark and different. I’m living the leather notes in fragrance especially now in the cooler months . It’s discontinued so I’ve purchased 4 bottles off Amazon to last me a while .

discoqueen

No this does not smell like Bottega Venta. Bought it because of the supposed similarities, what a mistake. Rogue is a bad fruitchouli with an overwhelmight artificial sweet plum. Similar to another overpriced perfume Fig Tea Nicolai Parfumeur which also smells chemical and "toilet freshner" like to me. It doesn't have the bitter leather of BV.

Mairaxx

A warm and sweet suede. It does sometimes give me a hint of pickle juice spilt on an expensive suede jacket. It’s a unique celebrity fragrance for sure.

Peaches&Cream

I like this one a lot ! love musk with sweetness and it isn't cloying either, I can wear this at the peak of spring, during fall and winter. Smells like a sweet patchouli, it lasts more on clothes but not on skin.

morphoevgenia

I gotta stop blind buying perfumes, but I was so curious. It is not bad at all, like poor people`s Gucci Rush. This fruit is not plum, it is not overly sweet. Not powdery. Clean musk, no suede. Something on my skin comes out almost minty. This particular aspect I do not enjoy, and also I have Gucci Rush in my collection, so probably will sell it.
Bottle is monstrous, I thoroughly hate it.

Not_a_perfume_junkie

Pretty little fruit chouli in line with the Jimmy Choo, La Vie est Belle , etc al. It's nice and creamy but powdery too. When I first got it I was thrilled because it was so different from the standard celebrity scent. Now, it's nice and I really like it but it's just another sweet, powdery patchouli.

Bondno9girl

I am selling a vintage bottle on ebay with very little used from 2014 batch code 14113. I am in the USA, message me. It is a strong and long lasting batch. I have a newer bottle and the projection is not great. They def changed the formula.

imseptember

Very sweet and fruity, sort of... Musky even? This perfume reminds me of a honeymoon somehow. If you asked me how to describe this perfume I would say romantic and heavenly. 10/10.

Ms_Meghan

To me this is the perfect scent for a foggy day, or sipping bourbon by the fireplace. I can see how this fragrance can be completely polarizing, it's very different from Rhianna's other offerings and is a unique scent regardless. I absolutely love this perfume, to me you get the patchouli very strongly with the earthy sweetness, but it is mellowed by the suede and a soft kiss of the plum and floral notes.

whichoneisit

I love Bottega Veneta, but this is not like Bottega Veneta at all. Smells more expensive than it is but what i can smell the most is just cinnamon.

cherrypie099

this was my first full bottle of perfume ever...! i am laughing at all of the reviews on this perfume - i loved it and thought it made me so grown up when i was 12 years old, reading percy jackson and wearing my little rebellious rihanna perfume.

sometimes i catch it in a crowded mall and im taken to a place i haven't been for a long time. it's what i thought being a woman would be.

Flexwithviv

From the Jump this just wasn’t for me. I did not retry it as I knew if I were to see how it goes, I’ll eventually keep it and probably will never reach for it.
You would have to enjoy strong and unique type of fragrances to enjoy this.

This perfume is NOT a safe Blind buy!!!!!!

I am thinking of trying rogue love and seeing if that is any better.

ulianazajcenko

I really love it. My first intense perfume. A gift from my Father.

Had to take time to actually open it for myself. And fall in love with it. It is something. A sweater, a coffee, a bossy day in the office. It has it all.

And leather... It's not just leather. It's skin.

Spice aromatic oil infused skin of a woman with impeccable taste.

Only for those women who can allow themselves to enjoy. Themselves. Life. Love.

Beautiful scent of a woman.

I have a small bottle of this perfume that I wear so seldom I have decided to give it to a friend who enjoys potentially polarizing fragrances. (She loves Chanel's Sycomore, which to me smells like fancy bongwater.) Rogue by Rihanna is what I would describe as a very strange perfume. I like it when I'm in certain moods, but it's also likely to give me a headache, so I always wore it very sparingly, in a place I could easily scrub if need be. Sometimes it smells so strongly of new suede that it's like burying your nose in a shoebox, but there's also a strong, almost sickeningly sweet plum scent. The effect is confusing, especially once you factor in the musk and patchouli base. The rose that's supposedly in the middle notes doesn't come through for me. I admire Rihanna for creating such an odd fragrance, but I suppose I'm not enough of a rogue to wear it.

suzanne_ronald

SUEDE 'FRUITCHOULI'. Released in 2013, on the heels of Gossip Girl wrapping, this takes me back to that era with fun, disposable clothes and pretending to be Forever 21. Opens with a crisp burst of lemon blossom & cyclamen with citrus, clean & white-floral touches, that deepens into the suede & plum heart rounded out with powdery rose & musky jasmine. Plum here bringing a fruitiness to the tart lemon blossom that together read as near-strawberry to my nose (not listed). This all rests on a patchouli base with musky vanilla-woods & amber. Overall there is a "fruitchouli" vibe as other reviewers have noted, although this isn't an exact dupe of anything. Affordable, and well above average performance for year-round wear, and a heavy glass bottle, cute faux suede cap and inverted glass studs on the bottom. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

Batch Code: 13148 j6 (2013-05-28)

Sassafras23

I like this plum better than Kiss - more sophisticated. To me, it’s a boozy, liqueured plum that pleases me despite my general dislike of booziness. I think it’s the suede that creates this effect.

karinevandal

3 words: plum, powdery, patchouly! Rogue is a beautiful fruitchouly with a touch of suede/leather, which sets it appart, to my opinion. It is syrupy sweet, it’s loud & playful. You can tell Rihanna loves plum in her fragrances, Rogue being the 3rd one plum oriented. This fragrance is very sexy & bold, with a dark aspect. But it’s also very feminine, since it’s very velvety/powdery. Nothing to compare really to any other celebrity fragrances. It has character. It is inexpensive [30$ for 75ml] and could easily be a designer fragrance. It’s in the vein of La vie est est belle, Si, Born in Roma etc.
It projects a lot, so be careful if you’re a heavy sprayer like me 😅

To my nose, it’s 85% similar to LVEB. Suitable for fall & winter. The bottle is kinda HUGE, even the 75ml feels bigger than most of my 100ml.

hpeeters

All I smell is goodness…. Until I get a faint licorice. And I hate licorice. It’s not in the notes so idk where I’m getting this from. But when it dries down we get along. I get compliments! But I was wanting a suede smell & I just don’t get much of that here. This will layer well with my honey perfume. This is a win for me but I won’t buy a full bottle….it’s giving me Lolita Lempicka & hypnotic poison vibes with the gourmand licorice! However if your Into that, this does smell expensive for being a celeb scent.

Lovaloo

A well-executed "fruitchouli" for a reasonable price.

I'm not a fruitchouli connoisseur, but this permutation is unique and memorable. Rather than going in a spun sugar direction as many of them do, Rogue gently entices with a soothing texture. Velvety suede, powdery iris, and fresh fruity musks, initially it evokes Bottega Veneta. The twist? As the suede and plum depart, it starts to resemble Rush. Sour, lactonic peach and a youthful, invigorating patchouli, both of which are tamed by florals and vanilla. Creamy, clean, fruity, musky, sweet. A lighthearted, playful fruitchouli in which the fruit doesn't smell saccharine and the patchouli behaves.

This perfume is inexpensive and fun, the progression is enjoyable. It strikes a nice balance, less heavy than Bottega Veneta, but smoother than Rush. The versatility is high, and it doesn't smell down-market. Of the many celebrity perfumes I've sampled & blindly purchased, this is certainly one of the best.

I don't like the bulky bottle but at least the cap doesn't fall off.

poodleParty

I randomly found this at a local pharmacy for cheap...and I blind bought it. I'm so glad I did. Super plummy, leathery, musky...exactly the vibe I'm looking for. There's something boozy about it, but I'm not sure what makes it boozy.

I don't think it's for people who are into light/fresh type of scents, but I can say that it's a lot more interesting than other typical celebrity scents.

The girl at the pharmacy said this has been discontinued (is she right? If so, that's too bad.), and my bottle is 4 years old, according to the batch code. Performance is excellent...lasts 7 hrs on my skin, or more.

sophie sanderson

This is one of the best smelling perfumes out their its so enjoyable to wear and I've only got positive words to say about it it's really nice

Londonhermit

I get the suede and the musk. To me it's smells like powdery suede. I thought this would last on my skin but alas it faded like a half an hour. By the way this does remind me of Bottega. Very suede and veterver.

Stoicchild

Just like every celebrity perfume, they've changed the recent formula to be somewhat weaker than the first batch. I remember this being my signature scent when it first came out. It was a powerhouse! It used to PROJECT and leave a trail wherever I went. Now that I bought the recent formula, I can tell they have changed it into a weaker version. I'm very upset because this was so unique, of course they had to ruin it. Now it's just a shell of what it once used to be! If you still have the old formula, you need to hold on to it tight. I haven't found a similar scent ever since!

Yes Malena

Really interesting concept with some nice notes, but when I wear this it smells muddled. It's like the idea didn't make it to reality quite. It has some nice notes but it doesn't sing. I have a small rollerball, so it may be better as a spray. I'm a little sad because I like some things about it, but the execution is muddled. It may be nice to sweeten up a heavier leather fragrance on those days you're just wanting something softer, but still there's that aspect to it that smells like something smeared and indistinct. I also get that feeling from some Al Rehab oils in the roller ball, unfortunately. Just a lack of clarity for some reason. Feels like it could be a year-rounder to me, but I live in a fairly cold climate.

riorebelle

Pertama disemprot langsung disambut dgn wangi buah plum, manis sedikit fresh. Buah plum tetap menjadi center diparfum ini sampai ke fase base note. Dipertengahan muncul wangi kulit (suede), gak familiar dengan wangi kulit cuman dihidung saya tercium musky tapi gak powdery, mengingatkan dgn wangi sabuk kulit ehehe. Semakin lama parfum ini tercium semakin manis, terlalu manis malah. Parfum ini cocok dipakai di malam hari karena berpotensi bikin pusing manisnya kalo dipakai disiang hari.

Perfumatrix

I eagerly tested this because I heard it was similar to the much-lauded (and discontinued) Bottega Veneta EDP, a fantastic violet-suede scent that is sophisticated, subtly sweet, elegant, addictive (and getting harder to find every year). This Rihanna fragrance is NOT, not by the farthest stretch of imagination, any kind of substitute. "Rogue" (I love how sarcastic the marketing team was with the name) is a cheap-smelling pale shadow of Bottega Veneta, with thin threads of leather and plum accords drowned in mega-doses of that cloying, corn-syrup fake "caramel" food odor that makes one's back teeth ache just from the smell, which seems to appeal to adolescent girls these days (my teen fragrances were Je Reviens, original Lagerfeld Chloe, and Anais Anais, so what do I know).

This gets a 2 out of 10 for me; the only reason I didn't scrub it is because I assumed it couldn't possibly stay THIS awful through the drydown . . . maybe some of the sticky-goo smell will dissipate, and the drydown will allow some of the all-but smothered suede accord up for some air? (Please?) Well, it never did.

Nothing for it but to re-gift the small bottle I bought to someone I despise (and someone I will rarely have to smell). Sorry to say that on my skin at least, this smells like future tooth cavities. But if you are the type of person to want extra pumps of syrup in your coffee-drive-thru pink drink (you can still faintly taste the coffee with only five, and who wants that?) . . . and you have no problem scarfing a few (dozen) cake pops along with that . . . and if Eau de Corn Syrup is your idea of olfactory heaven, this is the scent for you. (Just please stay upwind of . . . everybody else.) Cheers, Friends.

Kizzyb93

Okay, this is straight up Marzi pan to my nose. I love it doesn’t last too good on the skin though

mhubbard1961

I tried this today for the first time. Maybe it will grow on me. More powdery than anything.

Nocciola23

This is an interesting scent which I really enjoy. The first spray is a blast of musky, powdery iris to me, that soon settles into a soft, rose and leather combination. I don't pick up on the plum like others seem to, but the musk is very prominent to me.
It's a powdery musk that reminds me of the Narciso line.
This is definitely a niche scent in celebrity costume.

dualaokto

Flirtatious plum wrapped in mysterious suede leather. It is a well put composition with a perfect balance of coziness and sexiness. I had to wearing it couple of days and nights to decide how I feel about this one, and during those times I couldn’t stop sniffing my skin. I found myself craving it more and more everyday.

It is a cheap hidden gem, a lil underrated celebrity fragrance. I am aware that perfumes could smell different on people, depends on many factors, but still if you receive a perfume that smell like acetone or disgusting old car’s leathery backseat, you might want to consider if you just got a bad or turned juice. :)

TDSollog

On me, this smells like a 95% Bottega Venetta/ 5% LVEB. It’s a cozy, soft suede with cashmere woods and a touch of powdery vanilla. It feels like a comforting unisex/ non-gendered scent. An interesting one that gets compliments on me.

LiliiiS

if Bottega Veneta and a sweet, girly perfume with a dominant plum note had a child, their child would be Rihanna Rogue.(it's plum is very similar to the plum in Dior Poison). it opens very loud and perfumy and dries down to a lovely fruity floral wrapped in suede. it's like a loud, happy and youthful scent but with a hint of something mature, elegant and sophisticated. I like it but eventhough it's a compliment magnet, I don't think it's everyone's cup of tea. if you love Bottega Veneta and want something very similar, Rogue might dissapoint you but if you are looking for a sweet and less serious version of Bottega Veneta with added plum and a soft touch of florals, give this one a try.
I also like it's bottle and like the fact that it has great longevity and sillage on me. it's one of those perfumes that can leave a trail as you walk.

hotbaby1

I don’t like it. I repeat what a reviewer below wrote: it smelled like car old leather seat, that hasn’t been cleaned in forever. How dare people compare it to Gucci Rush?!? There’s nothing comparable to Rush!

tiffaniday81

This is a loud perfume that I had to layer with Diptyque Eau Duelle to calm it down. This is definitely for spring and summer.

cherrycerise

I think this perfume is great for all seasons and occasions. Really easy to wear despite it being sexy and fruity - I can just imagine myself wearing it as an every day scent. I think it's because it's not really strong, rather fun and youthful. I managed to grab a 30ml bottle for £9.99 at Savers.

Tinabill

Riri went Rogue at the modern celebrity perfume trends; not a gourmand or a banal fruity floral.
RR surprisingly opens very perfumy imparting old school vibes. When the initial blast calms down, a deep, dark and delicious plum note takes over with some powdery rose 🥀, followed by a warm, velvety -almost buttery- suede note. The suede is not animalic or sharp at all, very beautiful. The patchouli is tamed here giving way to the plum and suede to shine, but it imparts more depth and complexity to the composition.
The performance is loud and on the better side of moderate, suitable for the mature woman who speaks out her mind with ease.

ekrapf

Rogue isn’t the right name for it! It’s a soft, powdery, divine beauty. I get powder and musk, slightly sweet. Could this smell like an old lady to some people? Sure. But to me it smells like a rich, classy, 30s-40s something woman wearing a velvet or fur shawl dressed up in formal black tie attire. For me this is an easy reach, even in sweltering hot and humid weather it continues to smell divine.

SouthSim

Firstly, you have to love musk. And I mean LOVE it. The opening of this is quite pretty. Feminine and a little sweet. That quickly dissappears and the MUSK clocks in. And pretty much thats all you smell going forward. The plum is only detectable when you sniff closely. Even the patchouli can’t outdo the musk. It has a granny smell about it. Maybe cos it reminds me of this deodorant called Sadie. I don’t like musk. Especially when it’s this dorminant. Will try again in the winter.

SheRays

I must say that the bottle's design is SPOT ON with this scent- EDGY!!!! This is crafted soooo well. The suede is not too harsh , but just enough to round out the other notes. You can still smell the plum coming through...This will always stay in my collection!

Dina France

It's not made to be liked by everyone. But it is unique and memorable. I love the combination of plum and soft suede (the rest of the notes from the top and the middle of the pyramid are not here). Unfortunately, the Musk is too strong and creates a shower gel feeling after a few hours. It'd could be amazing if the base was done better (for example, I could really imagine it with was a mix of labdanum, sandalwood, vanilla, amber and benzoin), then it could compete with Tom Ford. I hope I will find a layering combo for Rogue!

DinaFrance (perfume reviews on youtube)

BougieGirlShops

Nooooooope.

Nope. Not for me. It smells like backseat of a hot car in the summer, and cloyingly sweet "cherry" hanging car freshener that doesn't smell like cherries at all. Ever see the movie Se7en with the air fresheners?

valbona.bergman

i really can't express what this perfume brings to my mind! But if i could, i'd say watch out!! this bitch will steal your man ,while you are wearing coco mademoiselle...

Lotte_Liese

A juicy plum note alongside a bouquet of roses, surrounded by a cloud of musk and vanilla with a sharp patchouli note and woody backbone in the dry down. The opening is sharp and off putting but settles after half a minute into a becoming fragrance.
This is a nice perfume, nothing memorable. And although it smells 'high street', it is definitely one of my favourite Rihanna fragrances.

Update: the sweetness has become too off-putting for me.

TriFrtaljČetri

It's long lasting but as some other Rihanna fragrances it's not linear it changes completely to sth.l don't like a bit,not only on my skin but on clothes and paper too. At the start it's ok, leather and some peppery, minty notes but with drying down it becomes muddy, unclean scent .First time wearing it l thought l started producing some awkward body odor, l felt so dirty and awkward in public...then l realized it was the drydown of the fragrance.

I don't know how it has such good reviews, skin chemistry plays a part but this literally gets awkward on paper and clothes too!!

Fatima1219

Rogue is my scent of the day. I have it layered with Sol de Janeiro's Coco Cabana body cream. These two work very well together. The projection is very little on my skin, but I've been able to smell myself for a few hours now. This combination makes me feel assured that no one else is smelling just like me at work. If you are a fan of the House of Rihanna, Rogue is a great fragrance to add to your collection. It is musky and fruity--and has a charming scent that is not most common. I have had this fragrance in my vast collection since it was launched, replacing it as necessary. It has always been a nice break from the norm.

km1266

This is quite different, I wasn't sure what to think. First spray reminds me of Gucci Rush then it dries down into a fruity cola. I don't think it's overpowering or masculine at all, it's sweeter than I expected. Sometimes I think I can't smell it, then I get a whiff of a really yummy smell and realise it's coming from me.

This is my first Rihanna perfume and I'm impressed, I have a new favorite celeb perfume. It lasts long too.

Iridescent Bee

I blind bought this for $20 and it's a win.

To me this is a sparkling, light-hearted sprits that goes very well with champagne! It absolutely smells like Dr. Pepper, which I love. The suede and plum notes bring balance to the floral notes. It lasts forever. It's very linear, which is nice sometimes. This is one my husband's favourites and a complement getter - which is somewhat annoying when you love complicated niche fragrances, like myself. haha

AleharJ

Now why would you say that this is anything like Bottega Veneta? This might if you really stretch it have some similarities to is, but then we could also name 10 other frags that it has way more similarities to, and none of those frags have any sophistication nor depth in them. This is litteraly another sweet girly fruitchuly that I personally wouldn't recommend to anyone over the age of 16. Can't smell the leather. Just fruity sweet whatever smell of Victoria's secret, Bath & body works and whatever other overly sweet and nauseating stuff that fills the shelfs in drugstores nowadays. I got a huge bottle for 20 bucks so thought it safe for a blind buy (due to the goddamn reviews... Dammit, again 😂)... but now I see that is just another 20 down the drain.

Aleccsei

To be honest, I just bought Rogue, because everybody wrote, that it would be like Bottega Veneta (BV) ... and the similarities are there...
Rogue is frutier and "younger", however it lacks the depth and the charisma of Bottega Veneta. In Rogue the plum is present and keeps the fragrance young, sweet and playful.
In BV the leather note is present and dominat - it allures and captivates you into it's charms. BV is beautifully crafted to represent an elegant person.
The fragrances however similar they might appear, they are still worlds apart.

Sparkleball22

Oh, Rogue… Very special. Not a safe blind buy unless you have 25 bucks to experiment with. Also: unisexy…
I couldn’t smell most musks when I started my fragrance journey and now, magically, I smell a whole new dimension of this fragrance because my nose opened up to musk. So I now get the suede thing. I am officially addicted to this. There’s a weird medicine menthol thing in the first 5 min I used to hate- now I love that too… lol (lemon blossom plus patchouli??)
The suede. It’s a cushiony, rich complement to the plum and sweet lemon blossom I guess? But it’s heaven to me now and smells full and balanced. It’s warm, a bit fruity, dark and comforting. I think it resembles a Dr. Pepper vibe in some way- I get it! My 12 year old boys chose this perfume as their favorite over my Chanel Allure and that was the former favorite…hmmmm.
I am loving my reunion with Rogue. Lasts 8 hrs.
Incidentally, I ordered samples of Bottega Venetta because I heard it was similar and I didn’t want to spend big bucks on something too similar so I am reporting HERE that to my nose they are very similar, and after I put BV on my brain said wait this is Rogue. After first 5 minutes. Compared on both wrists. I could tell the difference slightly but hubby could not. Rogue is sweeter…

Sheree472

This perfume is not for everyone. what I will say is ,it isn't as bad as people say it is .smells very similar to Vince camuto the original . Very boozy ,very dirty smell in a good way. amazing lasting power around 8hours

Anne of Green Gables

Love it or hate it. Definitely not for everyone. I love it but I love spicy, woody, mossy, amber somewhat heavy fragrances. You won't like it if you like fresh clean or LVB Lancome or something like that. Is not girly sweet perfume. Is a bit dark.Goes good with black leather jacket, rock music.. Something like November Rain Guns and Roses, Ozzy Osbourne you know what I mean. 😉If you like BV try it is very similar maybe softer than BV.

heather62

Lemon candy - that's what I get with this. Oh how I wanted to love this, given all the talk about how unique it is. But it's not for me. Just no -

I wonder if my bottle has gone bad because I am not smelling what everyone else is describing! From the notes, I thought I would just love this but it's just super odd to my nose.

YinYangClouds

I was so excited to try this fragrance because the main accords were fruity and leather.
Unfortunately, all I smell is suede, vanilla, and a hint of a floral.

There is no plum!

It's a bit spicy and powdery.
It reminds me of Old Spice and shaving cream. It smells reminiscent of the dior sauvage parfum but more feminine because of the vanilla

I am not the biggest fan of this fragrance.

I feel like they should have made this more of a unisex fragrance.

it seems like they added all the other notes to try to drown out the suede to make it more feminine.

So, at times, it feels like all the other notes are competing with each other.

Warning ⚠️
The suede and the vanilla are kind of nauseating together and very sharp. I don't think that this would be a good fragrance to over spray

Overall, the suede makes it stand out
but I don't think it was executed well and it seems like they really didn't know if they wanted to make a fruity scent or floral or woodsy.
So they haphazardly threw this together.

OceanPlusEarth

No no no ...

Stinky and horrible. I own Bottega Veneta and this is nothing like it.

More like a gorilla's armpit mixed with toothpaste. Or a sweaty stinky car seat soaked with years of unwashed bums and an assortment of spilled drinks and cheap car fresheners.

Even as a room spray, it will repel or even kill the most opportunistic roaches.

ScentBliss555

This did not work in the Winter for me at all. It just smelled like an unwearable fruity leather mess.. I was giving this a final test before deciding to part ways with it but it's a totally different story now. Spring temperatures amplify the plum (I honestly smell a juicy ripe peach) in a bed of soft suede and buttery leather accords. I enjoy the fact that the middle notes have amazing longevity and the notes don't muddle down.
Very happy I found its beauty before letting go. An unexpected and beautiful surprise.

AriaLennon

Such a bad experience with this one... It's just too sweet, smells like candy and for some reason even gave me a headache. I had to shower to take this smell off me

sim-star

So I blind bought this perfume because I heard so much about it on Youtube. The moment I opened the cap I regretted it. It just smells like cheap car seat leather with some sweetness. I get the vanilla but no plum at all. It is also headache-inducing to me. I will try it again in the evening and see if it changes my mind.

Vabeachtiff

Ok. So I've owned this now for a few months. My test sprays on my wrist and back of hand left me not wanting to try a full-on wear, so I put the bottle away. And what a phenomenal bottle this is. Occasionally I returned to the bottle and sniffed the neck. Today I decided it was time to give it a real go. I applied her kind of heavy like I do most of my fragrances. This wasn't overpowering like I imagined it would be. After a few minutes, this reminded me of my grandfather. A while later, I thought I smelled like a leather coin purse with change and a peppermint left inside. Hours later I thought I smelled a forest. This is not bad at all even if my references are whacked. Definitely smells and performs like a niche. I can't say this will be in regular rotation, but I'm not giving this up.
Edit 10/6/2022: This will be in my regular rotation of fall/winter scents.

This smells exactly like leather seats and Dr.Pepper. That might sound unappealing but it’s actually really unique and pretty mixed with the fruity notes. This is a perfume I imagine a very fun outgoing life of the party person would smell like. It’s loud and energetic. Longevity isn’t a issue with this fragrance on me. I really like this scent but it doesn’t agree with me well. I get a headache from this anytime I wear it. It’s alittle too strong for me.

abbygolden

smells like the lush store but a bit spicier. gives me headache if i spray it on my neck, but if i just do a few sprits on my clothes its not over powering. it smells unique and i think its a good value.

Editing to Add to my initial review:
I've had this for a few months and it is without a doubt my #1 fave in all my fragrances I own and #2 in my top 3 of all time. I wore this every day for the first 2 weeks after I got it. For the first week I wore it alone & for the second week I mixed & layered with other scents. I love it more alone than mixed but my favorite concoction was this and Rare Pearls from Avon which has a high pepper note & plum. It is a beautiful combo because of (I think) that peppery opening to RP. I also used body sprays on my clothes in addition to this on my neck, chest and wrists because when it comes to using a spray to add to your overall scent, the sky really is the limit. It paired beautifully with Bodycology Dark Cherry Orchid & in a surprising turn of events, BBW Endless Weekend & Beautiful day. This perfume actually makes me feel like I'm consistently wrapped up in a hug. Sweet, slightly spicy and just beautiful.

Just received this today & was opening it before I even got it inside. Upon first smell I already knew I loved it but it wasn't until I had it on for a while that I truly realized just how much I love this. To me, this is like a oversized, worn brown suede jacket with plum & citrus in the pockets. After a while it does get sweeter and I dont smell much of the suede that I did in the beginning but it is there in the background. This has been on for a few hours now & it doesn't feel like it's dissipated at all, it's just softly there & when I move or sit down I feel like I'm in a light cloud of it. I am sure I will update as I wear this more but first impressions mean alot to me and this is impressive. I can already tell I'll be purchasing again and I'm only a few hours in. Wow.

lechickpea

This is interesting. It's not something I gravitate toward, but I appreciate that it's a very unique scent yet still easy for anyone to pull off. Great lasting power too.

It smells like a suede jacket covered in those little powdery candies you sometimes get during Halloween - in Canada they're called Rockets, I think they are called Smarties in the U.S. There's some woodiness in here too. Not my cup of tea but worth trying if you want something unique and reasonably priced.

The comment section for this perfume is what led to the creation of my account. And my account is as follows:
I’ve heard that this smells like cigarettes and moldy leather.
I’ve heard it compared to bottega veneta and Gucci Rush.
I’ve read that it’s a screechy scent that was poorly sewn together.
And I just wanted to say, in my highest of high opinions💁♀️, that I have no idea what they’re talking about!
This perfume is sweet and sensual and yummy! I detect no suede in here. And if ppl think im wearing a high end perfume, right on!
This might be my new signature. It smells that amazing on me!

A Little Perfume

TL;DR: a unique offering for a celebrity scent that strays away from sugary sweet notes.

I bought a mini of this a while ago and enjoyed it enough to buy a big 125ml bottle. It's a bargain for what it is - an interesting, albeit linear, celebrity scent that doesn't rely on sweetness to be appealing. I'm not against sweet fragrances, but I enjoy seeing a celebrity take a chance with something a bit different from the tried and true sugary gourmand style that seems to dominate this category.

Primarily, I get jammy plum and soft leather from start to finish with Rogue, although occasionally I get a touch of rose too. There's a warmth to it and the dry down is just a softer version of the opening with a little added musk. Rogue is uncomplicated and likeable, yet she has her own personality and stands out from the crowded celeb market.

To me, this is the epitome of a "works for everything" type of scent. I could see wearing it in all seasons (except maybe extreme heat/humidity) and it's equally appropriate for the office or for a casual dinner or hanging out at home.

Massively underrated, IMHO. Definitely worth a sniff.

Saraha123

I really like how this smells, I don't get a hint of leather with this. It's very fruity and sweet on me. Personally I think its rihanna's best fragrance. It projects well and its good for the summer time. It also gets me lots of compliments and people always ask what I am wearing. I honestly think some of the negative reviews might have gotten a old bottle.

stephania3000

Like a lot of reviewers below this was not a love, not even a like upon first smelling this. I had a 30ml bottle I decided to wear until it was done and slowly started to crave this fragrance. There is something about this that while not crowd pleasing, I really gravitate to.
The suede and plum notes are so smooth and rich smelling, completely different than your regular designer/celebrity fragrance.
I purchased Bottega Veneta hoping for a more sophisticated take on this DNA but nope, they are almost identical to my nose. I will continue to purchase Rogue when I’m done with my Bottega because I can’t justify the difference in price when they are 95% similar. Sillage and longevity are identical in both perfumes on my skin.

LeaLush

This is a masterpiece. I'm very skeptical and critical of celebrity fragrances but this is FAR from your typical average boring generic celeb scent. This is sexy and sensual, deep, alluring and overall stunning! Miss RiRi!!! Everytime I smell this I get something different. This is one where you take off the cap and just sniff, and that alone will satisfy your craving for this. On paper I shouldn't like this because of the patchuli and leather mixed with florals but the way it's blended is just undeniably sexy and sophisticated. WOW.

Redolence Cove

This was a blind buy I bought on impulse at TJ Maxx for less than $20. I believe I had a gift card, but I don’t quite remember. I absolutely despise this fragrance and wish I never bought it. Here’s the analogy of what it smells like: imagine if your grandfather passed away and you’re having to sell his property. While you’re cleaning out the shed, you come across an old, wet leather horse saddle. Rouge smells like rotten, thread barren leather. Rouge is that horse saddle. Do not buy unless you’ve smelled it first and even then…I don’t understand the appeal. To each their own.

Nikkit94

Smells like smoky leather and plum notes. Not particularly my taste but pretty unique as a celebrity fragrance.

k3llfae

blind buy before I had any clue what i liked. on first spray i HATED it, extremely 'new car smell,' and stashed it under the sink to throw away later. found it a few months later and time seemed to have softened it (or me?) but we're never gonna get along. the peachy plum fruit + suede makes me seasick. i appreciate it's something a little different from the average celebrity offering and maybe it smells nicer on somebody else but i still ended up throwing it away. ugly bottle top but i'm into the studded bottom.

Dancer_kr

Some more in this does not work on my skin, maybe the suede or patchouli. Idk. All I know is this is disgusting to smell at! I get cheap peach musk and that’s about it. I don’t get the hype of this one!

sophie sanderson

This perfume is id say one of the best perfumes she's made it's really lovely and is better smelling than some high end named brand of perfumes and you get compliments wearing it's a well made well thought out classy feminine perfume that will never lose it's appeal

Stoicchild

This is definitely a Bond Girl perfume. It smells very expensive. I never buy celebrity perfumes, but this is something else! There's nothing like it in the market. This ticks all the boxes, the price, the performance and the amount. Though just like every celebrity perfume, they've changed the recent formula to be somewhat weaker than when it was first released. I remember this being my signature scent, it was powerhouse! It used to leave a trail, but now that I bought it again, I noticed that the latest formula has changed to a weaker version. I can't say that I'm not upset. Now it's just a shell of what it once used to be! If you still have the old formula, hold on to it tight.

Nanalvzpink

It reminds me of the Tom Ford DNA…
However, terrible blind buy for me. It smells like a bunch of vintage clothes that has not been properly stored for an unhealthy amount of years.

I bought this because people claimed that it was similar to Gucci Rush. IT IS NOT!

I have to admit, it lasts A VERY LONG TIME on the skin.

maya_papaya

One of my holy grail celeb perfumes. Found a full-size at TJ Maxx on a discount, and it came with the hand lotion for about $15. A total freaking steal! It smells like something in the vein of Thierry Mugler Angel; spicy-sweet and surprisingly complex. The suede, musk, amber, and patchouli play wonderfully with the sweeter plum and florals here. If you had a single-note peppery fragrance (like Black Pepper or something similar from Demeter, which I'm mixing it with now), it layers wonderfully. A perfect fall fragrance, cashmere-soft and classy. Highly recommend, especially if you can find a bottle at a discounted store, but still definitely worth it at full price!

Irinka. K

I blind-bought this one from TK Maxx in summer two years ago and it smelled kinda weird and spicy. I kinda forgot about it until I accidentally found it in my second bathroom cabinet. Note on Autumn it smells really really beautiful. It smells like Bottega Veneta eau de parfum but sweeter, softer, more powdery and less old-books stank. I love it. I wish the projection and the sillage stronger. Or maybe not. I can see how it can induce head-ache if it was stronger.

Pebblesjebbles333

Gosh i absolutely love this! This is definitely one of those polarizing fragrances where you either love or hate it. Glad im one of those who immediately love this.

This scent is very unique. The leather note is very prominent. It is as if Always Red Femme by Elizabeth Arden and suede note had a baby. I adore Femme so its like Rogue is giving it another twist.

The smell of this reminds me of someone sassy, spunky, feisty and independent. I can actually imagine Rihanna smelling like this wearing sexy leather outfit. Longevity and sillage is good.

Charlotte_Grace_29

Oh my lord I detest this fragrance. I got a bottle as a gift and this is probably the only fragrance (with the exception of Angel by Mugler) that made me say, "Oh **** no" after trying it on. It smells incredibly cheap and artificial, with a predominating note of synthetic leather that smells like a cyborg attempting to recreate the scent of a leather boot using mad-lib adjectives. I got some of the plum and the vanilla, as well as the amber. It all sort of mashed together on me into this fake-leather, acetic, boozy concoction that seemed better suited for last-call rail shots anything I would actually wear. I got rid of the bottle immediately.

lyssfragrance

This smells so sweet and a little bit spicy on my skin. I absolutely love it and it is sooooo unique. Like i cannnot stop smelling my hand where i sprayed it. I got this for $15 at burlington and i saw people saying not to blind buy because the scent is unique, but it’s beautiful and i think if you like scents that are sweet with a hint of spice, you will lovvveeeeee this. Rihanna did that! This scent is what i feel like rihanna smells like in the fall/winter. If you are considering buying this, just get it!!

Selenaa

Hard to find now in Australia.
Grateful to have held onto my last bottle.
Perfect for warm weather, this is spring in a bottle.
Smells sexy at night too.

All I can smell is that suede and a bit of sweetness, I don't sense any flowers or the plum. Have to be in a specific mood to wear it, as it's an unusual one, so wouldn't purchase again most likely, but it's an ok perfume, especially for the price.

MaxieF

Yes kind of resembles gucci rush but it's way weaker and also when I put this on my skin it kind of burned. It smells very slightly like suede. reminds me of Snow Fairy by lush. .which I didn't like very much... I feel like gucci rush is at least more polarizing. I have to put my face up to the spot I sprayed to smell this. I'll probably return it.

Edit: yeah I returned it

LaContessina

I am not into celeb scents.
However I blind bought Rogue just because it is said to be a 90% dupe for Bottega Veneta the original (I adore BV and have 2 bottles however since it's kind of expensive and often sold out, having a cheaper alternative is to consider).
Rogue is a sweeter, cheapier and less refined version of Bottega Veneta.
The super sweet plum note at the beginning gives me nausea.
But... the heart - even if rougher- and the drydown are almost spot on. The suede/amber/woody note is identical.
If you can get past the first 10 minutes then you forget to be wearing Rogue and indeed pretend to wear Bottega Veneta.
Indeed when asked what i am wearing i will answer 'Bottega Veneta' rather than Rogue (in part because here in Italy no one has ever heard about Rogue. We're not much into celebrity scents over here, no perfumery sells them).
The bottle is super tacky and never on my display but hidden in a perfume cabinet.
That said, I wear it quite often and i also spray the interior of my purses, just for that super suiting suede note.

Madyana

When I got this I couldn’t love this at first. I put this in the same fragrance category as Roberto Cavalli or Avon Far Away. I don’t like either, and here I found that same stinging note that as it dries on my( ! ) skin starts to resemble, I’m saying badly now, cat pee..sorry.
But there’s something so sweet and fascinating about Rogue that that vibe doesn’t get up or overwhelming on my skin and after six months of experimentation, this has become easyly one of my favorite scents, that I really love, and use for a wide variety of occasions.
When I wear this, I indeed can feel like a little naughty, bad ass rogue woman...The leather here is just to my taste, not watery or ashtray, but like an expensive suede dress and the flowers here are so narcotic, but tastefully strangled, sillage is not overwhelming. At the top I get jasmine wrapped in sweet vanilly plum.
I think this scent is versatile, roughly elegant, mature, little bit illegal, inappropriate, but in a good way! A real leather jacket fragrance for every good girl like me. Heh.

jhunter1536

Am I the only one that thinks this smells like butter menthol, especially at initial spay? lol. I do like it though

Kuty22

I bought this perfume back in 2014 after trying out in Sephora in 2013, I remember loving it so I gave it a shot and bought it online.
After wearing it I decided I like it not love, to me the suede note stands out the most and I'm guessing that's why it has a unisex appeal. The scent lasts a long time but it is soft, it doesn't offend sensitive noses because it doesn't project 'aggressively' I finished the 2014 bottle (75ml) and just got a 125 ml a few days ago.
I know apricot is not listed but to me it smells like suede and apricot in the opening and pretty much throughout the dry-down(here I get sniffs of roses but barely there) I wish patchouli was stronger. I'm sure I will always feel like wearing it, perhaps see how it reacts in different temperatures 😊

kiaoi

When I first smelled this perfume, it brought me back to my childhood and that’s the cyclamen scent, one of my favorite flowers that I often smelled when hiking in the European Alps. To me, it’s soothing, calm, cozy scent that lasts long, with a great sillage. It lasts long especially on fabrics. For me it’s a beautiful scent that brings back sweet memories.

Ellsa

The only thing I feel is leather. I don't like it at all. Too masculine and pungent for my tastes.

adamh9201

This one smells like Dr. Pepper (in a good way)! At first sniff I did think this was unisex, it is a very androgynous scent to my nose. This one is a like, but not a love.

KindnessPunk☮️

I do like this perfume, but I have to be in the mood for it. I only get suede and plum notes, then a soft woodsy dry-down after an hour or two. This fragrance is not very complex to my nose, and for the first 10 minutes after the initial spray, I smell a fruity soda. It just doesn’t unfold enough, and I think it’s a bit too young for me.

I adore Rihanna, and I also own (and adore) Nude, so I don’t want to be too critical. I do like to spray it at night sometimes, it’s very comforting and sweet. However, I have yet to wear it out. I will likely have this bottle for awhile.

If you love plum, suede, and sweet notes, this is your scent.

LanaDelSlay

Absolutely gorgeous summer scent, I miss it

Afryka

The beginning is nice, but the drydown is sugar and plastic burned together.
It smells better on clothes, so maybe it doesn't work well with my skin.

mochiprincess

I sprayed this and my sister said I smelt like orange trident gum. I was really LOVING this fragrance, and then her comment ruined it for me ... because now I also smell it, and it’s all I think of :(

dehydroepiandrosterone

sour airhead candy.

Jmeezay

So I was worried about the suede note. I love the smell of suede and leather in real life, but have yet to enjoy it in a fragrance. Luckily for me, I get no suede on my skin. I get a gorgeous, powdery sweetness with hints of jasmine, amber and I'm guessing cyclamen. I also love the woody base that kind of grounds this scent and makes it a bit more mature than many celebrity scents. I plan to layer this with an even woodier scent to help me make it through the end of the winter. I am very happy with this blind buy, though.

miarose

I took a chance blind buying this, since the price was so good for a huge bottle. On first spray, I was very pleasantly surprised. I was afraid that maybe the patchouli would be too strong, that it would be too sweet, that I would get too much of that Dr. Pepper note that people keep talking about. On me, this is a sweet plum, but not really jammy, with a hint of leather/suede. I do wish the suede note was a big stronger, because I just get hints of it as I sniff. It's not super complex, but it's good. I also get some cyclamen (a note I like very much) and some amber. The wood note is nearly non-existent on me. All in all, this is a good scent, especially for the price. It smells nothing like Bottega Veneta on me, which I own, though I did buy this on the chance that it would. But Rogue is its own scent. Like many celebrity scents, it's not super complex and is sweet, but this one is quite well done, and a good choice if you want a more user-friendly hint-of-leather scent. I really like the plum in this one. Sometimes plum can go a bit too ripe on me, but it's not doing that here. And I keep sniffing my arm, so I know I really like this one. I also like the bottle. It looks classy, and reminds me of a niche bottle. However, as I'm writing this, I'm glad to have such a big bottle. Longevity is a bit short.

LikeButter

This is a cool girl’s floriental. Light enough for day time with depth and feather soft leather. A little cigarette-y but still powdery and feminine.

Not the kind of floriental that screams “I’m wearing great underwear.” ... if you know what I mean. It’s more of a “wise beyond my years” vibe.

I can’t love this one though because it lasts about an hour and then dries down to a flat soda kind of experience.

It’s cute while it’s cute though! Especially if you re-apply often and heavily.

Someone mentioned Dr Pepper. I would say it’s more like mixing all the fountain sodas together which was so much fun as a kid.

This is one of my all time fave celebrity fragrances. I reach for it when I want something bright but not squeaky clean; something sort of mysterious.

milano1214

I love this on me.. it smells like Dr.pepper!!! I can’t believe it took me so long to purchase!!! And it lasts

flyingfish90

Wow! I bought the 0.5 mini from fragrancenet. I sprayed it on my wrist and couldn't get enough. This is a sexy fragrance! Yet somehow still professional enough for the office? I would definitely wear this to work if I wanted to make an impression, or on a date night as well. It's versatile. The plum and suede sing amazingly on my skin, as well as the vanilla in the background - can't wait to buy the the gift set so I can layer, because it does calm down after a bit and layering will make it last longer. Will definitely want to respray after about 4 hours.

vedavan

I absolutely love Rogue. Strong opening of juicy plum which dries down to a fruity dark vanilla and soft suede. It smells expensive and I feel like a rich b*tch when I wear it, like one of those Beverly Hills housewives, which may or may not be your cup of tea. It suits me just fine.

KittyDeBeauvoir

Continuing on the plum (and now Rihanna) train, I come to "Rogue".

I didn't try this for the longest time because I was put off by the leather note. Leather in perfume tends to make me pause. Do we reeeeeeeeeally want to do that? It's rarely done right, but when it is: It's this!

"Rogue" is sexy and smooth throughout its life. The plum is reined in by the suede here. All this time I was nervous about leather when plum could have been mine and "Rogue"'s downfall. Wonderfully, the sweetness of the plum and the deep smoothness of the leather is perfectly balanced. The gentle cyclamen and lemon blossom in the top notes is delightfully feminine and tangy cirtusy. It's actually lovely and incredibly underrated! It's subtle, but it's there.
It settles to a very pleasant sweet musk, but the suede is always present.

Longevity is okay. I would honestly love this to last much longer. If this was an all-dayer (or all-nighter), I'd buy this in a heartbeat! Sillage is - again - okay. Moderate is you spray thoroughly, and on clothes / hair.

Overall, this is a pretty great scent for the price and availability of it. I'm suitably impressed and *very* tempted to buy my own bottle. It's sexy, modern, unique enough, and can be either attention-grabbing or subdue; depending on how trigger-happy you're feeling.
Repurchase-worthy.

Kitty rating: 8/10.

I'm truly starting to love this. There's something like smoke, almost like a fruity, tart cigarette smoke. Sweet but never too sweet. A very textural experience. The moniker brings to mind historical fantasy and role playing games, but the scent itself is more 20th century femme fatale. Plush and lacquered at once. Think of someone in vinyl pants and a fluffy sweater.

sparklyunicorn

This perfume takes a bit to understand...Definitely unique to say the least. To pull this off a woman must be daring and confident. To me it is extremely sweet to the point that it's medicinal. However, the leather at the bottom softens it and makes it comfy. You need to get past the initial burst attacking your senses and relax. This is definitely only for a night of going out when you want to feel fierce and alluring. It is best for cold weather as the spice will keep you warm. I can imagine a gal wearing all black with this scent. This is not a versatile one, but it is fun and a challenge. I have grown to really enjoy it, good job Riri <3

Algee

No layers a very strong black pepper & smoky scent but It's linear from start to end. It starts with a burning hot coal pit scent & a dash of vanilla then gone in 2 half hours. No leather No patchouli here. ROGUE is what it says an independent person that is not authorized, or normal...

vattenmelon

Leather patchouli and musk is what it smells like, and rihanna really succeed with this fragrance it is VERY daring. I would name this perfume Daring if i had the power to release a perfume, lol..

Its kind of a hate it or love it fragrance because it has so much confidence and just screams out its notes

Personally i find it a little too dark and masculine i just dont DARE to wear it!

ladyofthebrook

I purchased this perfume months ago, tried it, hated it. It smelled like heavy chemicals and a dash of doctor pepper. I liked the bottle, so I kept it, but never intended to ever actually wear it, until I got bored one night and sprayed it on. And now it smells fantastic. Leathery, plum, with a hint of syrupy sugar and musk. The weather hasn't changed all that much from when I first bought it, and I don't think my tastes have undergone that dramatic of a revolution, so I'm not entirely sure what brought about the change. Maybe the bottle just needed to sit on the shelf for a bit. Maybe my skin chemistry is a little different, I don't know- but I can now see this as something I'd wear. It's unique, especially for a celebrity perfume, and smells much more expensive than the price.

labonvie

I typically eschew celebrity fragrances but this piqued my interest because of the comparisons to Bottega Veneta, which I adore but am sadly between bottles. I have to give points to Rihanna for not treading down the well-worn pink fruity floral path. It seems most celebrity fragrances suffer not only from a lack of imagination, but the belief that most women want to smell like confections. Not that creating a dupe is visionary, but this is an interesting choice at least.

Rogue, indeed. The opening is a bit uneven, rough. The scent careens between syrupy plum sweetness and a noxious chemical soup. Fortunately, this stage is brief and as this dries down the rough edges smooth themselves out leaving you with suede soaked in plum liquour. There is a lingering medicinal tang that balances the jammy sweetness.

So, yes, this resembles Bottega Veneta. It is much sweeter and lacks the edge and refinement of BV. Rogue also lacks the smoky vetiver that make BV a standout. But, for many people this will be a close enough dupe and at 1/5 of the price will be a better option.

I think it’s very good and I really like it, especially after the opening. But my cost-saving attempt may have backfired. This scent only makes me crave Bottega Veneta more.

Performance wise, this stays close to the skin but the longevity is moderate. As this dries down, a vanilla musk comes to the fore and 8 hours after application that is what is left on my skin. For me, this will not completely replace BV but I’m glad I tried and will certainly wear it.

hexed

Smoky, fruity leather???
I feel compulsed to love it. I get the Dr. Pepper comparison but I associate it more with cough syrup, which I loved as a kid and would've misused if my parents weren't as careful, and all kinds of Finnish candy! We have a few different brands of licorice candy flavored with tar, and I get a bit of that. But mostly the medicinal vibe. It's syrupy, sweet, herbal, sharp, smoky.... I have another association tickling at the back of my mind, maybe a Lush product. Maybe a little incense. The leather is noticeable but soft; not waxy or intimidating, it actually reminds me of my grandma who always carried a leather purse. I like it a lot.

It's an addiction

This is sharp, spicy and powdery and somehow reminds me of a Salvador Dalí scent, I think it was Sunrise in Cadaquès. I prefer this though.

I dislike the opening, but love the dry down. However, it seems to disappear almost entirely just when it reached that stage. Overall, I still haven’t made up my mind on this one and will need to give it a try in hotter weather too.

xx2901

I think this is very serious, business lady perfume. She comes and she makes presence. Lemon blossom, peaches, jasmine, warm amber and suede. It feels like I spilled perfume in my new expensive leather bag, e.g. Chanel Allure. In all honesty, I prefer this over Chanel.
Side note: don't blind buy, because it doesn't work on everyones skin, it might get boozy sometimes and bold.

katemax

This is a powdery leathery rose which is just gorgeous! I'm very impressed with the quality of Rihanna perfumes I think I'm going to have to try them all!

Ashlowery14

I really wanted to like this fragrance, especially since other reviews claimed this was unisex, sexy, etc and I am not into typical feminine floral fragrances, but this is the worst perfume I’ve personally ever smelled. It’s so peppery and leathery it’s offensive. I tried to wear and see if it would grow on me but no, just no. I’m glad I only ordered a mini, not that this is a super expensive fragrance, but still, whew so bad. I even had my husband smell it since I thought maybe he would like it since it smells somewhat masculine, but even he thinks this smells awful. Not a safe blind buy!!!

Austrian_in_Denmark

Before I got serious about perfumes, I was a bit snobbish about what to test. Not awfully so, but I would not have tried a Rihanna perfume. Not that I dislike her - I actually like some of her songs and LOVE that she produces make-up for a big variety of skin shades. But I did not give celebrity scents any attention, because I assumed that they were of inferior quality.

My loss it would have been, because this is lovely - as actually quite a few celebrity perfumes are! The Rogue is a charmer, sweet, musky, fruity and leathery. Strong and longlasting as well. The leather is suave on me, and overall Rogue smells a bit like strong and sugary liqueur on my skin.

The only reason why this is a like, not a love, is that plum is not my favourite fruit, inside and outside perfumery.

PS: I forget about her producing lingerie in different sizes. Rihanna really is amazing!

KrystalPower83

Smells exactly like Dr.Pepper!

GGLiCious

I still can't decide wether i"m going to buy a big bottle of it or not. I have 2 bottle of travel size 15ml. I really have to be in the mood to wear this amazing perfume. I really love it.

Rangel7

Another winner from Rihanna, it smells classy and expensive. Prominent musky-leather fruity, very cozy and warm. The dry-down is lovely: ambery and slightly sweet.
Not your celebrity scent next door! Cheap, smells expensive, decent lasting power, what else can you ask for? Excellent fall fragrance on a budget

Seaworthy

Oh the thrill when it's a GREAT blind buy!!! I decided to take a chance and order Rogue and I was not disappointed! Buying this one blind is a gamble as it is so entirely different than anything that I have smelled before. So unique, so leathery, but more than leather that sweet plum note. I was blown away by the first spray! Because this scent to SO out of the ordinary it is polarizing, uniqueness often does that... I absolutely love it and applaud Rihanna for releasing this bargain priced niche fragrance for all to enjoy! BRAVO!

January 2021
This is an amazing fragrance! A total love!! One of my favorites! Winter time is the perfect time for wearing Rogue.

bel.gravia

This perfume is so gorgeous, juicy, plummy and intense! Has a leathery note, and a lot of musk, soft and enveloping. A very amazing composition and decent quality. Really similar to Bottega Venetta.
Oriental floral? Definitely not - rather a citrus musky leather. The initial spray is a creamy lemon blossom, yellow, bright and crisp. However, I have been seduced to buy it not only for the good deal in terms of price but because it is loaded with suede, patchouli and plum.
When initial spray evaporates I start getting more and more of the fruity suede with some flowers. Those flowers are very generic and not offensive - those plain crimson roses, some petals of jasmine. The flowers leave the stage, though sweet plum and dry suede remain and eventually rest on a steady, cosy bed of just slightly sweet vanilla, herbal patchouli and all the notes connecting musk.

missswish

Ummm, something is VERY wrong with this "fragrance/eau cologne, etc"... How Rhianna left the perfume lab, with her "thumbs up" on this scent, is beyond me. I smell "cold medicine/eucalyptus" and then, maybe, some sort of flower...a rotten blind buy --- YUCK!

UPDATE: one must wait for the dry down in order to appreciate this frag. OR, spritz your underarms for a quick transformation ladies. Men should definitely
try this one out.

Margeo

This is VERY, VERY, VERY sharp, strong and ugly smell.

I could not find a tester and had to blind buy.
A big mistake.
Its the most awful perfume I have ever came across. It is not expensive but still waste of money...
Rogue love is an absolute gem and the other perfumes of Rihanna are gorgeous. Too bad that for some reason I was compelled to try Rogue as I was intrigued by he comments here.

Dee5

This is a complex fragrance. On first sniff it is very pleasant but as it dries down I can smell a hint of burnt rubber amongst other things which gives me a slight headache. I really want to love this so I will keep trying it. Perhaps a tiny spray goes a long way and makes a difference?

Alces Alces

A very affordable copy of Bottega Veneta. If you like BV, but not enough to spend $125 at Neiman's, there's Rogue. To me it is close enough since I like Bottega Veneta to a certain extent but not enough to shell out that much money. Sure it's a bit shriller, but it lasts and lasts. Rogue is good in cool or cold weather when you need a break from spicy or gourmand scents but you are not ready for florals.

Rogue is an enjoyable fragrance to wear and smells much more expensive than it is. If you are not a huge leather aficionado, but like it once in a while, this is a good one to have.

Update 3/7: Rogue smells a lot more expensive than it is. Maybe it's skin chemistry but on me this stuff is excellent. A dark, woody plummy pleather.

New car smell, in a good way.

Sherine777

I am very pleasantly surprised, I sprayed this one time on my knee and I kept smelling it all day long, I rarely come across a perfume with such strength!

Smells very good and more expensive than it actually is.

olliesmom

This is a budget friendly multifaceted fragrance. The leather and plum were a little harsh at the beginning but it quickly settled down and they and other notes make appearances at different times as if i am wearing different fragrances and that makes me come back asking for more. Yes it is still a celebrity fragrance but the experience is worth way way more than the price.

edit: This is the least used fragrance in my collection. The problem is it takes a lot of courage to have to deal with the initial roughness and which experience i am going to get.

who.am.i.you

After the zesty and somewhat harsh beginning, the patchouli and lemon blossom combo, which is delicious in its own right, is a warm cashmere and jammy suede cotton candy dry down. Reminds me of Aquolina Black Sugar in some ways. As Black Sugar has a burnt rubber kind of leather note, Rogue has a cashmere and soft suede vibe. I feel Black Sugar has ample vanilla with a hint of raspberry, while Rogue is stronger on the fruit end with the plum and the vanilla instead acts as an accent to the composition. Both have that cotton candy sweetness although Rogue has a much softer projection on my skin overall. I can spray multiple sprays and it still isn't very noticeable after 20 minutes, but it comes in wafts in a comforting way. I love spraying it on my scarf in the cooler weather. It's a cozy fragrance mixed with my chemistry. Smells great layered with chocolate scented lotions or oils, in my opinion. Love!

mevans

Rogue is sexy, sweet and seductive. Wearing it, I catch the scent as I walk and think damn that's good. It's the leather, musk and wood combining to give it that masculine vibe. It makes it even more sexy on a woman. The vanilla especially lingers for hours. I really like this one.

rchayes

Pleasant enough, but smells like hairspray. Not sexy or edgy in any way.

goldiloks

I bought myself a sample of this while on a leather rampage. This leather/suede is very subtle, overtaken by vanilla and plums.... well I say plums, but it smells very peachy to me. In fact, it is not unlike Burberry Woman or Jessica Simpson Fancy to my nose. Not identical of course, but if you like them, you'll probably like this. I would like to explore more fruity leathers.... Daim Blond, I'm coming for you next...

EDIT: I cannot stop sniffing my wrists! This one is a nuzzler.

—}—@ darlingbud

Love the design, love the price tag, love the top note. Wish it lingered longer. Beyond that first note, I think That New Car Smell appeals to me more than Rogue.

AnnieT303

My perception - this is a no-go as I get nothing attractive, initially and in the drydown, with Rogue. Maybe it's the type of suede accord? Or cyclamen? Or simply the entire makeup of notes.

It's not a nice scent on me and I've tried many times, different seasons, and no matter, it's just kind of a nutty-milky smell rather than an interesting or attractive scent.

Elijahwoo18

I love this fragrance its been 6 years since this was released I looked at Sephora forum for this fragrance cuz it was sold and they had the right! Notes and so did Macy’s website

Top notes: Pink Peppercorn ( Pink pepper) , Bergamot, Lemon Blossom, Cyclamen
Heart notes: Jasmine, Rose, Muguet ( lily of the valley) Plum, Suede
Base notes: Sandlewood, Vanilla, Musk, Patchouli, Amber

The pink pepper and bergamot have always been there for me I hope they update it to the right notes so people have to choice to vote for them the bergamot and the pink pepper are the big comparison to the bottega v fragrances

babyrose1985

I can't understand some peoples reviews saying that this is a "basic" scent and "nothing special", i have never smelt a perfume like this before, it REALLY stands out from the crowd so it is in no way basic, it has a definate similarity to Gucci rush but I actually think this smells better since smelling Rush recently smells reformulated. I found this scent extremely unique and potent with quite an addictive smell, however, the only thing that stopped me wanting it is that it is quite an aggressive scent for us ladies, it screams as maybe a little trashy, I love Alien edp as an example but the scent of this is a bit brash even for me. There is a certain note in it that like another reviewer said makes my eyes water, and it makes them water pretty bad!, no idea which note could be causing this.

This on me was a sillage monster, you dont need much of this for it to stand out. It also smells alot more expensive than it is x

On a side note Rihannas perfumes have blown me away so far, rebl fleur and love always being 2 of my absolute favourites, I've smelt alot of perfumes this year, ALOT, and these perfumes have really shocked me for the price they are amazing, I've got a serious addiction to rebl fleur, every other celeb fragrance I've tried lasts a second on my skin and just smell cheap, some I've thought were pretty nice but they've just not been worth it with the lack of projection. Rihanna perfumes just smell so expensive it's crazy but I'm not complaining x

Jacquis

I used this beauty as my bedtime fragrance last night. Wow! What a treat. It's still summer here in FL and I had not planned on using Rogue until cooler weather (60F). I was impatient and broke into it last night. Gorgeous! The deep floral leather wafted up at me right away. So luxurious. I was in heaven. I went to sleep in this luxurious cloud and woke in the morning to a beautiful, sweet leather. Still alive and kicking. Yes, that's Rogue, still wafting.

It's 90 degrees today and I think I'll be wearing Rogue in sub 80F weather. My husband even commented (rare). This is gorgeous stuff.

11/26/2020: Recently acquired Bottega Veneta EDP and they are 99% (saving 1% to be respectful) the same.

AnitaHendricks

What a surprise! I didn't expect much from this celebrity perfume, available for a low price. I think it's absolutely wonderful and truly luxurious! The leather, patchouli and plum notes go very well together. It has dept and it's a chique, sexy scent which smells a lot more expensive than it is. I just can't get over how surprised I am! You need to try this if you like Bottega Veneta too. It's very similar!

tyrachai

Literally smells like a leather couch in the house of a chain smoker. Suede, plum, musk AND patchouli? Not dark and sexy, just aggressive, I wouldn't even enjoy this scent on a man.

jensmells

I own most of Ri Ri fragrances and she really can do little wrong when it comes to scent in my book. But this is my favorite. I got a small bottle when it first released a few years back and I did not like it. My tastes were different back then. I revisited when I was a few years older and wiser and fell hard in love. I love this in the colder months, but will rock it on a summer night out as well.
The leathery suede note is strong in this for me, so you have to be in the right mood for that. I can get 5 or 6 hours of wear out of this before I have to really push my nose in to smell it...and for me that is actually really good. My skin eats perfume. Nothing lasts on me. Projection is decent. I got on an elevator in Las Vegas recently about 15 minutes after spraying this and a woman on the other side of the elevator complimented me on how good I smelled. So it can carry in an elevator without being too much.

perfumeninja

A friend gifted me with a mini size of Rogue and when I first smelled it I was instantly captivated. Gucci Rush! That was the first impression I got from Rogue.

I fell head over heels in love with Rush back around 2001. I adored it but I also had a day or two when it sort of made me feel ill. It's a very short list of fragrances that have that effect on me. I couldn't walk away from it completely though because I loved it so much.

Fast forward to the present and here's Rogue which is totally mirroring Rush to my nose. I told my friend that when I first sampled Rogue on my wrist it was a warmer day and it bloomed. Actually I described it like one of those aerosol cans of spray foam insulation that just grows and grows and grows. LOL.

Rogue scared me a little at first but I wore it the other day and it settled down so gorgeously. Later in the day I layered some Jovan Musk oil on my wrists and wow what an awesome combo!

I love patchouli so Rogue answers my love of patch fragrances. A win! Total love here!

hunkysteph

Okay, guys. So I bought this fragrance just yesterday. I was really impatient to open it up and try it because it was a blind buy. I kept on reading the reviews here, about how it smells like couch, like a prostitute, etc. I was intrigued and fascinated. Had to own it.

The moment I opened the cap and sniffed it, I fell in love. It was a very soft, floral, orange blossom-y, citrus-y kind of fantasy.

But pay attention - the moment I sprayed it on my wrist and on the back of my elbow, BOOM. Explosion. Citrus-y feeling lasted for about 10 seconds before it was replaced by the most opulent, rogue smelling, nose numbing LEATHER. And believe me, this is not some dirty leather. It is a creamy, luxurious, niche type of leather scent.

Now, I have to tell you that I kept on sniffing my arm for a long time. The longevity is...God, let me tell you. So I am writing this the next day after I applied it, it is morning and I can feel the smell radiating to my nose. It is not leathery anymore, it is a very sweet, musky yet vanilla-y aroma that comes across as soothing and effortless.

So, if you have doubts about this perfume, if you are a person who likes to take risks, to turn heads and who is independent and completely fearless, I urge you to buy this one. The longevity is OUT OF THIS WORLD for a celebrity scent. The sillage is good. Rihanna is such an exquisite perfume maker, I will definitely buy this again. I can feel it becoming my statement perfume.

gtabasso

totally niche smelling with tons of sweet plum that doubles as black currant, patchouli central and musk, yes it does have an almost cumin animalic quality to it that underlies like really tanning leather. If less sweet it could be a Serge Lutens. It reminds me a little of what I expected of Molton Brown Spiced Plum and didn't get. I wish this had some cinnamon spices for a holiday fragrance. It is a plum ready to be picked and eaten at night.

ladyofoldboots

Whereas Rogue man is unique and mysterious, Rogue woman is so BASIC. It smells like the noxious, cheap cloud billowing out of the adolescent section of the local mall's lingerie shop. Candy with body odor, I will never understand the youthful fad of sugary sweet scents with a blast of cheap musk. It's just not good. My husband has never reacted negatively to a scent except for this. We're keeping his Rogue, but mine is doomed to wander.

ColdNose

Glad to have recently been able to test this in a local drugstore; saved me from a bad blind buy.

It has a somewhat "medicinal" opening that turns out, some time later, is not just the opening (at least on my skin anyway). Not sure what note was responsible - maybe the cyclamen?...I have other frags I love that have many of the other notes.

In any case, it was the 1st perfume I've had to wash off in a long time (and it took more than once to get rid of it).

Really thought I'd like it based on the info here, so I strongly recommend testing beforehand.

catmeow

The heavy combination of musky leather and sour fruit isn't for everyone, but I love this so much, it's such a seductive and naughty maneater scent, a mood maker for sure.. it would feel weird to wear it for any other occasion. The beauty is there, but a beast is in the heart. ;)

kati77

Rogue is not warm scent for me, it has good opening but after 10 minutes its going bland and light. Like a Love in Paris by Nina Ricci....really similar.
A scent i won't remember. Good sillage thou, just no richness or frutiness, there is nice musky note which gives the perfume a character.

ms rochambeau

Not terrible, but not great either. I have decants of Bottega Venetta and that seems to be what Rogue is aspiring to be. The difference is that Bottega Venette is more smooth, sophisticated and balanced and the materials are obviously of a higher quality, while the fruity notes in Rogue have been punched up over the suede/leather notes to fit in with the mass market of fruity floral scents that appeal to young women.

alchemist1976stephanie

Came across this one today and thought it may get be a nice one going into spring... sprayed it on and...sniff, sniff... what’s that Ismell? Oh, yeah immediate regret! It has this sour black currant vibe on me that is so off putting, and of course, in traditional scrubber fashion.... I can’t get it to go away. Hard pass

Feige

Very powdery and rather strong - the patchouli is very noticible

buscheaux

This works really well with my chemistry. Velvety smooth, the suede is as warm as kidskin gloves, the musk soft and powdery, and the plum is fresh and juicy and not overly sweet. The amber, vanilla, and patchouli notes are all there in the background, but don't hit you over the head like with some other fragrances. Rogue is a versatile, classy fragrance, with moderate projection (a good thing, to my way of thinking), and at least 7-8 hours longevity. I find myself reaching for this much more frequently than I thought I would. This can be found at a very inexpensive price, and truly is an excellent value!

bella1616

I was looking for Reb'l Fleur at the drugstore, and found this beauty instead. At the time I was looking to purchase Reb'l Fleur but ended up wanting this one. It has musky, woody and amber notes but you do get a hint of the leathery smell. However, it's not a dull smell at all. The leathery smell is weirdly sweet and adds more of a subtle woody and musky note. Honestly it's baddass and it's a sexy smell. I forgot about this one for a bit but just ordered a bottle the other day. Love it :)

CopperIce

Maybe I don't have a sophisticated enough nose to appreciate the leather note, but to this day I have never thought "I want to smell like a COUCH today!" And that's what this is perfume is to me...a leather couch someone spilled a handful of black pepper on. I know other reviewers say to let this sit for the dry-down magic to happen, but all I get at the opening is the image of sitting in an RC Willey deli eating a sandwich (if that were a real thing lol). Sadly there is no real change in the dry-down for me. It just gets weaker, then fades to nothing after 2 hours. At least for a blind buy it was a cheap blind buy.

cassandra5322

This was a blind buy for me but my first reaction was "omg this smells amazing!" But then I got a whiff of what I think smells like medicated lemon cough drops and now I can't un-smell it. I think I love/hate this scent. The suede and plum combo is so dark and mysterious, the patchouli adds depth and sophistication, but the lemon blossom for some reason just smells gross on my skin and gives me a headache. It's disappointing, this scent could have been so good, maybe it needs a stronger patchouli note, and have the lemon blossom replaced with something else. I want to love this, because it smells so good sniffing it from the bottle, but I guess my skin chemistry makes it smell like medicine. I will try it again.

SweetLadyForOne

I finally bought a bottle of this. OMG this smells so good. Why did I wait so long? Mmm. Yummy! I'm not really sure what I'm smelling. I would guess I smell vanilla and musk and tiny bit of syrupy sweetness. It smells amazing!!!

sibaraa

Strictly masculine!!!

musenkata

This is lovely ,but it is a lot of plum and sweetness, i wish there is more from the suede.

letamercy

Ever since trying out and liking Elizabeth Arden's 5th Avenue and 5th Avenue Royale, I have started looking at celebrity scents with an open mind. Some of them are of surprisingly good quality for the price.

This is one of them. My current favorite celeb scent at the moment. The plum, suede and vanilla blend so well on my skin. The suede here has a realistic feel to it. Overall, the suede keeps the plum from getting overtly sweet while the vanilla sort of smooths the suede and keeps it from being too screechy on me. I wish the patchouli was a bit more pronounced though.

I find that this gem evolves differently on me depending on when I have it on. During spring/summer type weather, a juicy plum dominates with strong support from suede, vanilla and musk. Patchouli only peeps out shortly in the first 2 hours. The scent then dries down to a warm and creamy musky suede, with amber and sandalwood coming in during dry down.
In cooler weather, suede dominates on me with strong support from a jammy plum, smooth vanilla and medicinal patchouli. The musk takes over from the patchouli during the dry down. This is a little sweeter than during warm weather, but in a mature sort of way if that makes sense.
I love it on both occasions.

Sillage is moderate (about arms length), but this is persistent in terms of performance (lasts about 9+ hours on me).

This perfume's versatility and quality for the price is definitely worth having as a staple in my closet.

klein_gluck

Starts with strong citrus, but it goes away quickly, suede, patchouli and sweet(in moderation) notes make this scent very interesting, not a typical celebrity fragrance, lasts a relatively long time. It has Gucci Rush vibe in it, and reminds me of Bottega Veneta too, I had and really liked both of them as much as I like Rogue nowadays.

Jbaule

This one, wow. I just can't make it work for me. I keep my bottle around (it was a gift) to see if it will eventually appeal to my nose but the real issue is that I just don't think I have the right skin chemistry to pull this one off. I really wanted it to work but so far, nope. I occasionally pull it off the shelf and give it a test smell to see if my nose has changed its mind but so far no dice. To all those that have made this work and love it, I'm envious!

Jane Raff

Absolutely gorgeaous kinds of remind me of decandence(delicious sweet plum) marc jacobs edp and narciso narciso rodriguez edp not masculine at all in my opinion , so sexy and feminine.

toni64

There is just something about this perfume i absolutely love. Ive at least 40 perfumes at home but this one is different .I dont get floral,i get more patchouli menthol smell. Nice change from the average floral fruity perfumes. Not generic at all.

ladyjm89

This isn’t unisex. It’s very feminine, but not in a dainty delicate way. In a confident and sexy way! The sillage is light, and the initial blast is sweet, but with solid woodsy/oud notes. This is a very nice perfume, but sadly makes me nauseated whenever I wear it. I used to think people were just being dramatic when they’d say a certain perfume made them ill or gave them a headache lol. This is my very first experience with a perfume I find quite pleasant making me sick once I spray it. Oh well. It’s still a good purchase and I recommend it to anyone who’s tired of the syrupy fruit salad frags! This one is unique and classy. Has modern, very independent woman vibes. Like a beautiful woman who rides her motorcycle solo, and keeps all the guys guessing!

Scent: 7/10
Sillage: 5/10
Longevity: 7/10

gamme82

Rogue is a lovely oriental leather fragrance, what I love about Rogue is that it smells more expensive than it is. When compared it smells alot like bottega venetta. I think it can be used all seasons, i really love it. Sillage moderat longevity 8-9 hours. On clothes for longer.

al820129

On me it smells like booze. Maybe a little of peach and leather. It really does smell like Bottega Veneta. But that boozy ale note spoils it all.

aulialovegreen

To my nose it smell remind me of somekind of detergent, fresh sun dried laundry but my hubby said "hmm it smells expensive and sexy"
Need to buy it now

peewee&lime

Rihanna Rogue has got me confused. It was a blind buy after reading (and loving) the notes. My first spray was disastrous, slamming my nosebuds with a synthetic, chemical, strange mix. I tried waiting it out, but it smelled disgusting to me, and as I was going to a wedding later that afternoon, I scrubbed it off about 30 minutes in.

I planned on selling it ASAP, but decided to spray it on a piece of paper as a final farewell. An hour later, I asked my boyfriend to smell the paper and give me his opinion, expecting the worst. Instead, he goes "wow.. this is amazing.. The best perfume I've smelt, soft and sweet. Who wouldn't want to smell like this!" all while sniffing the paper like a fiend! My jaw dropped. I grabbed the paper and gave it a sniff. It was indeed pleasant, but not fantastic to me.

I decided to temporarily keep the bottle and give it a second chance or three. While the confusion of my initial spray has diminished, and the scent is growing on me, I'm just left underwhelmed and reaching for a different bottle.

Sandalwood__

Smells different depending on the seasons.

Winter time it is hella medicinal, the plum note shines for quite some time, and it is extremely ripe smelling. Rogue in the winter it is Like being blanketed by a suede blanket, saturated in combination of deep, purple plum juice and rose water —and— I think this is the cyclamen I am smelling..

Come this summery, rainy day and it is moist and smooth. It’s like a skin scent, of its own, on the wearer. The layers are so well together, it’s not three demensional, still complex, but so simple and straightforward/to the point, come this rainy weather.

I think I sprayed a lot on an it is still very subtle in this heat— weird. For some reason it is stronger in the winter.

Will be reaching for it a little bit more..

MsKayJae

The suede note in Rogue is fabulous and adds depth to the fruitchouli body making this a great buy if you're looking to get away from the Flowerbomb's of the world but want to stay in familiar territory. Has a niche feel without the hefty pricetag and excellent longevity.

Selena

Well now I see why I never reviewed this earlier.
I've had my bottle for 2 years, yes 2 years. I never got around to finishing it, why?
Well because I never used it much.
I tried this in spring, nope, in summer, double nope!
I'll always say, that the right season brings out the best in perfumes.
It's cold in Australia now, I dress super warm, this fragrance fits perfectly for winter.
The plum, patchouli & suede, cyclamen & rose is what I pick up most. The cyclamen gives it a tad floral touch & the rose as it does smell a little sweet.
This has a masculine vibe too.
I do enjoy it. On clothes it smells different. I tried it on my skin yesterday & it smelt very GOOD!! Even smelt it during my shower before bed.
The sillage is good for about 2-3 hours.
Longevity: 4-5 hours.

rola.asad

Nothing feminine here! I find it a little bit dry and nothing sweet, didn’t work with my body chemistry, and longevity on me 2 to 3 hours max!!
It has a niche quality though!

auco99

I am a guy and I absolutely love wearing Rogue. I have seen several reviews that describe it as super feminine, but I don't get that at all. On me I get a laundry vibe, like if Tide detergent and a fragrance like Polo Red had a baby. The top notes I am not crazy about, but things settle down after about 5 minutes. The magic is in the dry down. Maybe it's just my body chemistry, but Rogue flat out works on me, and my wife goes nuts over it. It lasts forever. Projection seems average. It doesn't wear "loud."

I have also sampled Rouge Love which I liked but maybe not enough to own. It is much sweeter and seemed watered down. I didnt get as much of a unisex vibe with that one although I think some guys could pull it off.

dsmercoco

Not what I thought it would smell like after reading the description. I thought it would be a much more unisex scent, but for me, this is very feminine smelling. It opens as a cheery loud powdery suede bomb and then it settles into the floral notes of jasmine, a hint of rose and lemon blossom and juicy plum rising on the musk. At the end it smells of insence to me but maybe it's the patchouli. Its really delightful. I agree with others about not a blind buy but I think if you enjoy Rebel Fluer (not that it smells anything like RF, it's just a good representation of Rihanna's taste and style.) you're more than likely to appreciate this too.

justfloral

Suede + tea tree oil? + wintergreen + cotton candy + red berries.
A strange sexy, brave combination.

EDIT: it smells like chocolate wrappers!!!! :)

sweet2mechii

I have a love-hate relationship with this scnet.
This perfume was describes by some people as "Not a basic bitch perfume", "Sexy" etc. but when I got it, it was just a normal, a little masculine, not overly sweet perfume.
You can definitely sense the Suede, it's a bit too much at first. On me, it dries down like and old lady perfume, a little sweet, but it still has that punch. Every time I try it out, it's different, but I like it the most when the Suede's not overpowering.
What I found impressive about this scent was that it didn't smell cheap. My sister on the other hand said it smelled CHEAP and everybody's wearing something similar lol.
It's a safe perfume for noon to evening but I can see it being used in the early morning.
Not a lot of lasting power(for me). Beautiful bottle.
Would purchase it again if it didn't make me smell like a grandma.

minizelda

2 words: musky and suède.

That's all I'm getting.

It is classy, sensual and addictive. The longevity on my skin isn't the best but as always, when I spritz perfume on my wirsts, I always make sure it hits my sleaves as well so it lasts longer.

Caringkk

I really wanted to like this fragrance but it was cloyingly sweet and smelled cheap on me so I gave it away.
I'm willing to try it again in the near future.

SmellieKat

Rogue is more chill than Bottega Veneta...but it's not for everyone. Thanks Rihanna for envisioning something original and feisty. I find Rogue to be somewhat sweet and rich like almost-fake Nordstrom suede. Blind buy - no regrets.

TonyAKAMrClean

I stumbled upon this scent after clicking through reviews on the right tab. I ended up purchasing the men's and the women's Rogue. To be honest, I was more excited to purchase the women's than the men's version. Why the women's version? Mainly because of the notes and how it's described in reviews. The description "a leather handbag with chapstick and mints scattered in it" sounded quite appealing to my tastes, and sure enough, the analogy was spot on.

My personal thoughts? If I hadn't read the notes, I wouldn't think this was leather and plum. It actually comes across much like the scent of tuber and rose, to my nose. Much like Noir de Noir or even Black Orchid, but without that pesky dry chocolate accord, which turns Black Orchid rancid for me.

I tend to like this type of scent on a woman, but I didn't purchase this for any woman in particular, I just wanted to smell it. Luckily, in my opinion, this is quite unisex, no more feminine than my favorite rose scents, so I'll likely wear this one myself from time to time.

This falls right between Cartier Declaration d'Un Soir and David Yurman Limited Edition in my collection, which is a gap that I really wanted to fill!

Update: This is a joy to wear. As complex and unusual as it smells in testing, this wears like a very soft, clean and agreeable tuber, rose and leather scent on my skin. It may not be for everyone. Try before you buy, but also try wearing it before you judge this one!

lady_ireth264

I think it's time to add my review of Rogue after owning it for sometime.
I adore Reb'l Fleur and so naturally like many others I wish to try her other perfumes. I chose Rogue because it seems edgy with the suede note included.

I like the square glass bottle design that feels solid and expensive.
The perfume itself is indeed rather unique and I like it but not love.
The reason is because I can't like the first stage of the perfume. That first blast of lemon blossom that's so unusual. I always make sure not to spray on each side of my neck coz the lemon blossom makes me dizzy. In similar trait like Burberry Brit. So I sprayed on the back of my hands and on the back of my neck.
But when the perfume develops to it's mid and dry down, I like it very much. I can smell the plum and suede clearly. Jasmine and rose mixed very well I can't separate them, just a touch of flower. The woodsy amber drydown I like as well. It's not really that long lasting with me, only 4-5 hours but it's reassuring to know that I can spray again without fearing the juice will go out soon. Huge bottle.
So it's still a like. Not a safe blind buy in my opinion. Not for everyone. The name suits it well. For those in love with suede note, this is great purchase. I find it much more interesting than Bottega Veneta.

Edit review 7 April 2018:
I come to enjoy Rogue very much for the last several days.
I may have sprayed too much on previous occasions so that I was suffocated in the lemon blossom first blast.
My current trick is to conservatively spray only to the back of my left hand, and the back of my neck.
And now I keep sniffing my hand enjoying the middle to base notes of rose, plum, amber, vanilla and suede.
It's not as long lasting as Reb'l Fleur but I'm sure it's just my skin. Alien isn't lasting on me so 4 hours is acceptable for Rogue. I'm loving it now.
Unusual and pretty.

Edit 20 April 2018:
When I thought Rogue was gone by end of the day, I could suddenly smell it in the shower. It lingered on your skin.

Uniqueness: 8/10
Longevity: 7/10
Sillage: 8/10

Into The Forest:

Upon first spray: Herbal Plum (Not at all crazy about the opening)....

The true treasure of this scent is at the beautiful warm base. While the herbal note is still there flirting around, it plays very well with a semi Nutty, Milky, & Smooth Suede!

huggiemcguire

This is a suede gem of a celebrate scent. It is quite different becasue of the way it behaves on my skin. I am not crazy about the weak top notes. The first application is good but a bit meh.

BUT upon reapplication (I apply it to the top of my arm between wrist and elbow)this fragrance really blooms into a warm suede delight that I cannot get enough of.

Layering this with itself is a wonderful slip into a subtle sexy sniffing party.

Sandalwood__

Perfect way to describe it: if Cashmere Sweaters/Hoodies were a fragrance, this would be their mascot. It’s cozy, as hell, after that ripe plum (which I do love plum notes) evaporates.

najgirl

I really enjoy Rihanna's fragrances. All of them are unique, and good quality considering the price. This one bears some similarity to two fine fragrances I own (and love): Bottega Veneta, and Nouez Moi by House of Sillage. The initial spray is quite similar, however, after a few seconds a faint burnt rubber note appears, which takes away from the beauty of the fragrance. Fortunately, this odd (burnt tire) smell quickly dissipates, leaving behind a pleasant, soft, skin scent. The presentation is great. The more unisex-look, even the name, are a refreshing change from the over-the-top, highly adorned bottles/themes typical of celebrity fragrances (sexy BW graphic on the sleeve keeps it from acquiring that "sterile" look associated with many modern unisex frags). Overall, a very interesting blind buy - unique standout in the celebrity fragrance genre, and quite nice for the price.

LOVE LOVE LOVE! So sophisticated yet affordable!!!

I remember smelling this when it first came out and all I though of was a grape/blue raspberry snow cone. I still get that from the nozzle, but on my skin it is strictly creamy plum, dirty patchouli, and suede.

Quickly becoming a favorite. At first, I thought it kind of smelled gross, like an old leather bag forgotten about for years and hidden under dust. This was about a month ago that I first tried it. Even after a few hours of wearing it, I began sniffing at my wrist to inhale more. I think the person below me who described this as a leather handbag with an unopened chapstick and mints scattered in it is very accurate. There is a sweetness, a cosmetic vibe, something menthol-y, and of course leather and patchouli!

This makes me think of a strong woman with a leadership mentality. I responded to a forum topic that had people provide examples of what a "Boss Lady" would smell like, and this came to mind. I think this is very well done. I seem to like all of Rihanna's scents (well, the ones I've tried).

Really great for a celebrity scent but still...sweet. My problem with the sweetness is just that, my problem - probably not someone else's. I wanted so much for this to be a cheaper dupe for Bottega Veneta of course. After the top notes wear off it definitely is very close to BV but lacking some refinement, particularly the icy oakmoss. The sweetness backs off for about 45 minutes then comes clobbering back in, cloying and tiresome.

Overall this is quite a unique fragrance, sweetness notwithstanding. The suede-patchouli combo is delicious. It definitely lives up to its name and is well worth the price. It takes a little gumption to pull it off. Longevity and sillage are certainly good.

Milky, powdery musk with a hint of cashmeran and leather. But basically MUSK. Unexpectedly wearable, as for this huge load of musk, might become overwhelming on a warm day though. Today however, when I tested it, it was a cold, November afternoon, at dusk, about 5 Celsius, strong wind - and it was just great a scent for this time! Cozy, comforting, not irritating. This perfume is definitely worth paying attention to, especially in the cold season.

Cocotea

This smells to me like the inside of a leather bag strewn with mints, Chapstick that's gone uncapped, some sweet plum-scented hand lotion which has some oil as the main ingredient, and a leaking pen. A very interesting and unique smelling perfume, minty, leathery, inky, oily sweetness. A sexy scent. Lasts a long time and isn't the typical run of the mill celebriscent.

This is my FIRST review on a fragrance after lurking in this forum for a few months. I feel so compelled to write a review on Rouge because I INSTANTLY fell in love with this fragrance and I just couldn't stop spraying--soooooo hooked...never happened with any other perfume (and I have accumulated to about 40 now) I'm not familiar with all the technical terms such as names of the note, which flower, which food, chocalte, coffee, etc, I just know that as soon as I opened the bottle, before even spraying it, I sniffed it and already like it. THEN I spray it....omg! It's unlike any other perfume, it gave me a HUGE boost of happiness and confidence.... I think the base is an elegant floral, but the top note smells like pepperment, and this is a magical combination, blended really well!!! I can't believe I would love a celebrity perfume, but Rihanna as the modern and rebellous Goddess she is, I admire her taste in fashion and I commend her for creating such a sophisticated perfume confident and bold. I went online and bought 4 more sets!!!

When it's sunshine, Rogue opens with lemon blossom and soft peach, later I feel leather with slight musk. Then it reminds Allure EDT.
But in damp fall or winter Rogue is fruity boozy rose and patchouli, it smells like beer and I can't stand it then.
Must try before buy.

I would totally wear this at a rock concert and it's great for autumn. It is one of the perfumes that could be called "Black...something". If you're wearing a leather jacket and boots, this is the go-to perfume.

Janlaw

Smells like pomade (black peoples hair braid cream) which is like a thick smelling layered pattichouli infused nightmare...

LibraNationTen11

I got this in a gift set with two of her other perfumes. It smells unique. I think the suede makes it smell like something I never smelled before. I have been wanting to try this one.

Mrs.Allard...two reviews below this one...I 100% second that!

This is a prime example of the exact OPPOSITE of a safe blind buy. I also was intrigued by Rihanna's very "different" scents she had released before this one and between that, and the positive reviews already written...I blind bought it online. And this was just awful on me. And if any of you have read my many other reviews...I almost never write negative reviews, nor am I a fragrance snob. I have dozens and dozens of celebrity fragrances. This is just NOT good on some people. I think the scent it quite off putting.

Nevertheless...as I've said in other reviews I've written...we all work hard for our money so I always try to include in my reviews as to whether something is a safe blind buy or not (even if it's an absolute love for me)...and this fragrance is the complete opposite. A MUST TRY BEFORE BUY!!

On me it's a fragrance that reminds me of a lost puppy. This fragrance is just so confused on me and has no idea what it wants to me. Like it's playing tug of war with itself. The notes seem to be at war with eachother...not in harmony. It's awful. From the main accords and notes I expected something sweet, but also warm and cozy and this most DEFF is not that. A recent purchase that I made that IS exactly that...is Paris Hilton's Gold Rush. I highly recommend for all of you to try that one, it's amazing.

Anyway...I'm still hopeful and open minded and will try another release from Rihanna. Most likely next will be Crush or Kiss. To end with something positive...I will note that Rogue Man is quite nice by Rihanna.

SailorV

Rogue was disappointing to me. After all the positive reviews and comparisons to high end perfumes I expected something more.

Unfortunately, to me it smells like the cheap celebrity scent it is. The first blast is a plasticy, synthetic plum. It's very fruity and reminds me of something, but I'm not sure of what. Maybe it's just a note many fruity drugstore fragrances share.
I waited for the fragrance to become better and a bit more mature, for the leather note to come out, but what happens is only that it becomes a warmer, less fruity and just a very little bit less artificial. Vanilla is there and also something tangy, maybe the lemon blossom.
The drydown is a warm vanilla amber musk. No patchouli for me. Leather is noticeable, but only if you know this has a suede note, I think.
It's on my skin for almost 7 hours now, so I gave it time to develope. Well, at least the lasting power is good!

I haven't smelled Bottega Veneta yet, but I hope it's better. Don't get me wrong, Rogue isn't disgusting, it just doesn't smell more expensive than it is and has an artificial edge to it.
I get why it's compared to Gucci Rush, as Rush has something synthetic about it, too, but Rush is better blended and more interesting. If Rush is an artsy dress made of plastic, Rogue is a simple plastic flip flop with a nice design.

Edit: The lasting power is exceptional! I noticed more than 14 hours later that my arm still smelled like Rogue!

Mrs.Allard

This is not a safe blind buy. This one warrants a test on skin first.

Hi all
Winter test here
I find this perfume better in winter.
Summer was dusky sweet.
Winter is dusky sweet though I get a bit of fruit, and what I think is leather and musk.
This grounds the sweetness so it doesn't blow away.

Very impressed with longevity and spillage - great buy if you want a long lasting scent whafting about yourself without spending a fortune.

I did do an earlier review, but I think this winter test has proved better in my chemistry.

VioletNoir

i dont like this perfume at all. but everyone has different taste. it just smells too chemically for me. Rogue Love is dreamy though. I have an almost full bottle with the box included if anybody wants to swap

Here is what I have to say for what it is worth:
If you think this a scrubber because you cannot stand the initial smell then you are not in it for the long haul!
Patience is a virtue!
Give it an hour or two before you judge. This scent is remarkable. I have two bottles. It is soooo divine.
If you scrubbed it in the first hour you lack patience.
Let it do its magic on you, and anyone who smells you.
This is a gift from the heavens:
Viva Rogue!!!

2nd Review:
The more I wear this the more I love it. I don't even smell the confusing first spritz smell anymore and I get so much leather! This is THE expensive leather scent in my opinion! Striking, exotic, leather in a bottle. This scent is divine!!!!

God Bless!!!
