I don’t even want my 2 ml sample of this. Worst juice ever

YaGirlSniffsMe

Smells like vanilla and brown sugar very pleasant

Mjchaelj

Smells very similar to Thomas Kosmala No. 4 with the musk and bergamot. This is much sweeter though with the tonka beans and sugar cane. The oud and saffron is a nice addition. Very luxurious.

A sweet oud scent. Can smell quite Middle Eastern

Overrated. Not great, unfortunately.

Montale Arabians Tonka - Fragrance No.1 of my fragrance world tour.

I bought this fragrance around a year ago at Harrods for £125, and it immediately became my signature scent, and still is to this day. First off, this fragrance is nuclear. 4 sprays can choke someone, 3 sprays will fill up a room and more, and 2 sprays will still be enough to leave a lasting mark on someone. The performance is mad, and it is a true “beast mode”.

This fragrance is the perfect example of how to do an oud fragrance. Lots of oud, tonka bean, vanilla, and sugar with some saffron and rose to balance it out. It is super strong without stinging your nose, and for £120, i think it is an absolute steal. I would pay £160+ for it.

Raise your hand if you've been personally victimized by Arabians Tonka! Good Gd, this should come with a warning label.
It's a straight tonka bomb. Dry-sugary--kind of like if you were to stick your nose in a box of white processed sugar. It's a little metallic and synthetic, but by no means bad... BUT it will follow you for days, even weeks afterwards, and clothes will continue to smell of Arabians Tonka even after running through the wash. It may outlive you.
2 sprays MAX, for the safety of you and those around you.

0xrafae

Arabian Tonka is like a trip to Istanbul, mixing up the best of East and West. You get the sweet vanilla from the West and spicy amber from the East. Montale might not offer tonka cats, but the scent lasts ages, and works great in the heat, which isn't always a given with rich fragrances. It's pretty solid!

mihuco1217

Okay, I was oddly disappointed by this. Off the top I immediately get to rose and this is the type of rose that I usually enjoy. However, when it settles it kind of just settles into a sickeningly sweet ambery scent that I'm not a fan of. I like ambery scents, but not when it's this sweet and synthetic smelling. I really wanted to like this since it had oud and rose, but the reviews aren't wrong when they said this had shared similarities with baccarat rouge. I guess the scent themselves are different. but definitely the same vibe. Glad I tried this one out and resisted to blind buy it.

I don't think it smells bad. It's kinda okay. Not my style.

ssiittyyuu

I know that, this one is a bit of divisive, but if you use this with measure, you can’t go wrong with it. Super sexy, the combination of agarwood and saffron is so clever. Montale known for projection and longevity, this frag is such a beast in these categories. It has the remarkable sugary oriental type of smell. You can hate it or you can love it, this is a masterpiece!

AlecSmells

Smells oddly of rubbing alcohol. Neither like it or dislike it.

Berk Y.

This is definitely what an Arab smells like

elis4ma

i actually had to wash my wrist after spraying this fragrance on it (the smell still wouldn't leave). it made me NAUSEOUS. the smell was so synthetic and the oud mixed with sugar cane was so eughhh....

BigChili.B

Okay first initial spay, it sorta has this beer-yeasty smell to it. It’s not BAD, but it’s a little weird ngl. The saffron mixed with the bergamot and rose is a little strange initially, producing this leathery like smell with the oud. The saffron is pretty prominent throughout, along with the oud and amber.

Tbh, this really isn’t that sweet at all (comparatively to other tonka bean frags) and if you’re looking for sweet sugar spicy tonka, this ain’t it.

However, the projection and longevity is UNREAL. I sprayed it on my wrist last night, and i can still faintly smell it on my wrist THE NEXT NIGHT BRUH

All in all, not a terrible frag that everyone else is saying that it is; it’s a deep, rich, edible-like leather to me. I might not find myself reaching for it as a designated scent, but i definitely don’t hate it. I kinda fw it ngl

Thesmithsera

I do not like how this smells. I bought a decant and I even regret owning 5ml of it. I had high hopes and wanted to like it. However, it smells like whatever synthetic ingredient is used in make up.

I keep smelling my arm hoping that I'm missing something, but it just misses the mark for me.

Chadirog

nice

edmundhusserl

think i said "ew" when i first smelled this, and now i'm creating an all-encompassing review for the entirety of this house: genuinely cheap, annoyingly synthetic, and distinctly unique yet off-the-mark ideas for scents. chocolate greedy is worse then the axe chocolate body spray. awful niche house

Skullhearted

bomboclat this shit is nuclear

aves90

It's a mystery to me why this fragrance is so highly rated. It is very strong, and not in a particularly good way. I think many people would be put off by it.

fietsdief

Maher_007

You either got noseblind or you bought a fake. I’ve got an older (3 years+) and a newer batch (>1 year). Both are very strong. The older batch lasts like 12h on skin and eternal on clothes with very strong projection. Newer batches last like 10h but project a little less, still very strong.

Maher_007

The love the smell however, it does not last more than 3 hours 👎🏻

I'm new to the fragrance

Smells exactly like ameer al oud in the first hour

exmin

oud rose u cant go wrong

Italianstalion

This fragrance smells horrible, I use it when I don't want to be bothered by people. to sum this up it reminds me of a dollar store scent and doesn't Project or last at all.

Bader7II

@willba you bought a fake one then, bc this stuff smells like a sweeter stronger version of baccarat rouge 540

Bader7II

OMG, this one was so much better than i was expecting, it kinda smells like instant crush, but better somehow, this one will be in my shopping list, 10/10 performance and scent

Ferg1

This is the best Montale for me, but not full bottle worthy in my opinion even tho it's not expensive. I struggle to really love anything from Montale and Mancera. Maybe it's also due to the bad presentations, those bottles are just 0 effort. The montale ones look like a hairspray. But scentwise also not so my thing, pretty simplistic and already done things, you basically and most of the time only get the name of the perfume, there are no surprises and their fragrances are very predictable.

savjlc

I LOVE the smell of this. Beautiful, warm, sexy sweet. Not insanely unique but not basic either. It would be a top pick for me but unfortunately this is just way too strong. My bottle had been sitting for a few months last time I tried it and I had a massive migraine after spraying. I could maybe get away wearing this for a night out clubbing but I haven’t been doing much of that these days lol. For every day wear you would choke out those around you. This might work for a date night but it’s so strong I don’t think I’d wear it for dinner. If you love beast mode fragrances buy this asap

fragrants11

You can simply describe this fragrance in one word: wow! Arabians Tonka by Montale is a great perfume if you are on search of a winter fragrance. For 80€ for 50ml: bargain! It might sound expensive, but it isn’t

Right when you press on the atomizer, you can smell this woody, floral and sweet scent at it absurdly strong. And I can stop saying, how strong this beast is right from the beginning. On the dry down, the woody smell stays, but then comes the famous tonka bean that makes this perfume amazing. The performance is amazing and the sillage is out of this world. It stays in my skin for days, even after multiple showers and if you spray it on your clothes, then they’ll smell like it for more than a week.

If you have bought this fragrance, then I must inform you to not overspray it. IT IS THAT STRONG, NOT EXAGGERATING. Montale and Mancera are amazing perfume houses that make great options for people that can’t afford the high prices for niche fragrances.

If you want to smell like the most important person in the room, look no further, Arabians Tonka is the one to take.

Mgrijalva

10/10 !
This is gorgeous! Dark ! Deep ! This is a night time scent and this is so projecting . I love love love this scent ! This definitely gets attention ! Very unique . Would recommend! HEAVY HITTER !

For me personally too sweet but it got eternal longevity you can even smell it after shower

mosquitosprayer221

I blind bought this and i swear this is the most successful blind buy ever, the performance is js insane, i sprayed 5 times, 3 on my neck and 2 on my shirt, and someone asked me if i baved in cologne. Even after 11 hours, this fragrance still projects well according to the people around me.

talking abt the smell.. its js delicious. it starts off quite nice, smells like Mancera instant crush with abit of ombre nomade, saffron is obvious as well. Once it dries down, the vanilla starts to get way more obvious and it starts to get sweeter. When you see reviews on this and how people says it smells like a arabian cookie, it does, at the dry down atleast.

smell is 9.5/10
performance is 10/10

ray_perfumeman

nice perfume

Bren10

Lovely fragrance with great performance, personally top notes can be deceiving, can’t particularly smell the bergamot and not so much the saffron really, instead quite sugary and sweet all the way through until the dry down, again beautiful fragrance

Huss_aladdin27

Imagine br540 with heavily induced sugar cane honestly montale never disappoints with eternal longevity talking about 10hr + and in terms of silage I get 3hrs radiating beyond an arms length just be selective when you wear it the scent is beyond sweet cold weather

Aadiji137

Arabian tonka is signature scent worthy , it smells amazing like a smooth oud and vanilla with some rose.
Projection is nuclear and on longevity I get about 12 to 15 hours.

Gaboich

It smells gorgeous but it does lean a little bit feminine even tho i really like sweet fragrances. And btw be careful with sprays because this is strong asf

personally i only get rose and vanilla and some sugar and lil bit of amber. And no Oud at all

and its not that expensive so i think its a good deal but it can be hard to wear

SirVojta

I get the hype, smells unique and nice. It's sweet and kinda addictive. Must say it's kinda bold to wear it tho, probably not for me. But it's very unique

aryxn

personally love the smell and performance but my mum hates it so much she tried to even hide it from me or offer to buy a new cologne for me to use instead lmao

SorenFly

Good opening. Dry down good scent but wayyyyy too sweet. Gives me a headache everytime it's worn. 3/5.

🤫🤫🧏♂️🧏♂️

Let me start off by saying, WOW not at all what I expected based off of a brief view of the notes. This is an AMAZING sweet, gourmand and loud scent that has amazing performance and is mass appealing for good reason.

This is my favourite perfume that I own, and I almost didn’t get a sample. Make sure to pick this up, or atleast get a sample, if you like sweet, loud and sexy fragrances smell this.

I wouldn’t blind but this, even though it is an amazing perfume. This is a very cheap fragrance for the quality it gives, and it lasted me around 30 hours on skin with 4 sprays! I recommend 1-2 sprays for travel/ leisure, 3 sprays for casual work/ school, 5 for partying, clubbing or outdoor events.

Smell 10/10
Projection 10/10
Longevity 10/10
Price 7/10
Price for value 10/10

I feel like I'm on the Truman show or something with this fragrance. Firstly, I actually enjoy the scent, it's very nice & reminds me of a more masculine version of Intense Cafe- which I also like! However, I am not getting the "best mode" performance that almost every single review talks about? I walked the dog in the morning & decided to test out my sample with about 2 sprays as I figured, if its too strong then at least I will be out in the open. Weirdly, I stopped detecting it after about half an hour. It was still on my wrist but I couldn't notice it around me or anything although it was a really windy morning so thought maybe that played a part? A little disappointing so far. I decided to walk the dog again later on about 2pm & this time put about 4 sprays on & it still only lasted marginally longer than the morning walk. I don't get why I'm having performance issues as the sample is not a fake. Hell, I can't even smell it on my skin this evening as I type this review. I'm not even bashing this one as it smells great but I'm just absolutely baffled by the lack of performance I got? My skin is pretty garbage when it comes to scent performance but come on! Will test another day & cake the rest of it on, screw it lol.

pureangelgirl

as i wear this more often, i get used to the heady rose and it fades away, now I get more of a sultry vanilla, slightly salty even, still the tonka and saffron are strong to me. i am beginning to understand why people compare it to br540. it still reminds me of a jar of jam. i want to lick my skin.

H4jdm

This biggest overhyped frag, smells great however if you own anything similar to BR540, I’d say it’s redundant. It didn’t blow my mind, didn’t get any oud, just a sugary saffron baccarat vibe from it.

However, the performance is great, I got 10 hours easily in longevity and the projection is hella strong. With just one spray I could smell it all over me.

If you want anything similar to br540, get this.

I just find this scent very common, I smell the br540 dna everywhere. You can get clones for this dna for less than 30$.

masonreed

really nice rich tonka scent but kind of feels cheep/ too synthy as it dries down

pureangelgirl

such a jammy rose, and sooo sooo sooo sweet, it reminds me of a brownie, and also a little bit of wine ♡
i discovered i have a MASSIVE soft spot for saffron, and i was never a huge fan of rose scents before, but this is just soo alluring and mysterious, luxurious, im wearing this in the summer and IDGAF

Eau de Maude

Mostly get Mercedes Club Black with maybe a little tiny bit of BR540… but so tiny…

PrinceOheb

Love it!

MrMrBrian

I’ve had this for quite a while now & was really impressed when I blind bought it when it was new. Nothing bad to say about it. I couldn’t tell you tho why I never reach for it…Perhaps because it is more than beast, It’s nuclear! And smells like a sugar cookie with that sorta BCR 540 vibe going on, Similar to Instant Crush & Sensual instinct that where ever so popular a few years ago which where sweeter stronger takes on BCR 540. This one I don’t catch the rose even though listed & as the name suggests more Tonka!! & that could play a part being why I own it & never reach for it either

goat69

If I like instant crush will i like this one too? And what are the differences between the two?

elrich

my nose was honored to smell this blessing

pumkzs

Smells fine but spray too much others will say you smell like straight alcohol. But my problem is I can’t get rid of this THING. I sprayed 4 sprays over a week ago and it smells strongly in my room. It’s honestly crazy how long this lasts. If you ever have a bad smell just use this.

Eenemeene

I got a tester for this, and cannot wait to get a full size. My first mistake was spraying too much (around 4-6 sprays): I had to go into the bathroom hours later to partially wash this off as it was so headache inducing. When sprayed minimally, I love love love this. It's so tonka heavy, has an ENORMOUS sillage and lasts a full day. I can even continue smelling this in my clothes *after* doing my laundry...

Maya lilac

A very addictive sweet, vanilla-amber bomb!

Arabians Tonka is another scent that has been very hyped about three years ago because of its alleged similarities to BR540 and Instant Crush! Hence I bought it.

Owning all these three fragrances in 2024, I would have to disagree with the hype on those similarities.
Yes, Arabians Tonka deserves the hype but doesn’t come close enough to BR540 to call it a dupe. The main thing these two have in common is a good amount of sweetness and the airiness offered by saffron note. This is more your typical Middle Eastern DNA, sweet rose and oud, with pure sugar cane, bergamot, tonka beans and amber!

It has a very predictable, commonly used notes listed into the pyramid, but somehow Montale manages to create a beast of a scent with them…
It must be the high concentration of perfume oils because every time I apply this on skin, it leaves behind a shiny, oily patch where I have sprayed!

From my personal collection of Montale, which is not that extensive, Arabians Tonka has the most projection, is the longest lasting and the most complimented one. This is another scent that’s not for the faint of heart people…

I would say it’s a staple in everybody’s collection as long as they love sugary sweet scents, with close to nuclear power and leaning towards Middle Eastern style of perfumery. Otherwise, stay far away, Arabians Tonka is not for you!!

I personally, don’t like or dislike too much Montale’s bottle style and packaging. It’s quite handy for travelling, because the bottle is so lightweight.
Fantastic value for money, as with most of Montale’s scents!

lucas194

I went on a perfume shopping spree a few days ago and bought this one impulsively, ended up being my favorite of the bunch. I would wear this year round. It smells so seductive and beautiful

Jkanso

I get complimented every single time I wear this fragrance, its a beautiful sweet scent that is definitely crowd pleasing!

Cmsed

Definitely over-hyped on TikTok. Very little warmth, I get an overpowering blast of a powdery note that gives me a headache. I smell almost no tonka or sugary sweetness and almost all powder and floral. As far as people raving about sillage, I don't see it. My husband likes it when he's right next to me, but there's no scent bubble or anyone noticing when you walk in the room. An overall let down.

mattirintala

Montale Arabians Tonka is a fragrance that embodies the luxurious and exotic essence of the Middle East. This oriental scent, released by the renowned French perfume house Montale, offers a rich and captivating olfactory experience.

The fragrance opens with a warm and inviting blend of spicy notes, including cinnamon and cloves, which immediately transport the wearer to a bustling Middle Eastern market. As the scent develops, the heart notes of tonka bean and tobacco emerge, adding depth and complexity to the composition. These notes create a sense of opulence and sophistication, reminiscent of richly decorated palaces and ancient traditions.

Arabians Tonka truly comes into its own in the dry down, where the sweetness of vanilla and the earthiness of oud wood merge seamlessly. The result is a sumptuous and intoxicating aroma that lingers on the skin for hours, leaving a trail of elegance and allure wherever you go.

One of the standout features of Arabians Tonka is its impressive longevity and sillage. This fragrance has remarkable staying power, making it ideal for special occasions or evening wear. Just a few sprays are enough to envelop the wearer in a cloud of sensuality and sophistication that lasts throughout the day and well into the night.

Overall, Montale Arabians Tonka is a masterful blend of exotic spices, precious woods, and sweet indulgence. It captures the essence of the Middle East in a bottle, offering an olfactory journey that is both captivating and memorable. Whether you're exploring the bustling streets of Marrakech or attending a glamorous soirée, this fragrance is sure to make a lasting impression.

sw1707

An absolute powerhouse beast. Smells like pure luxury and fills any room before you even enter.

Definitely similar to instant crush by Mancera but a bit easier on the saffron (thankfully) and a bit more tonka / vanilla heavy.

2 sprays is enough to last a whole day or night

Shack2623

In my top 3 for life. So unique, addicting and warm..I want all perfumes with similar dnas. If anyone knows of any perfumes that are similar lmk. I already own instant crush, milk, and silky woods. But this is one of the best. Arabians tonka is beautiful imo.

Nesne

Every Montale fragrsnce has that typical Montale DNA. It’s loud and screechy. It smells like sweet liquor. I like it but I don’t like to wear this on me. This to me would be a great scent for in a BMW of posh Mercedes. It smells like an expensive house scent.

Caramelatte7

This smells good but Juicy couture glistening amber is a 99% dupe that smells even better and last longer for a fraction of the cost. You can purchase on eBay or fragrancenet.com

Rickycorro20

I love this Fragance, its smells like with some of Ice cream in a Bottle, 9.4/10.

mattirintala

My second niche perfume. I bought tried this on skin and wasn't really a fan of this, but when I smelt the drydown I fell in love. Wonderful blend of sweetness, oud and rose. Definitely recommend. 9.5/10

monipod

I wanted to like this as I'm chasing the ultimate Tonka scent, but for me this doesn't smell like anything listed in the pyramid at all. I thought it was the shop's batch but a sample I received today had the same effect. All I can smell is a sunscreen like scent. Same with Xerjoff's Erba Pura that everyone swears is a fruit bomb but I can only detect that odd smell. The two scents have white musk and amber in common so perhaps my nose translates it into something not nice. It does linger on the skin for hours though, even after a shower and scrub. I must research why this doesn't smell as it should for me. Just glad I didn't blind buy a full bottle.

Jakubw

The definition of a mid perfume. The silage and longevity is amazing although the smell is not what I expected. It’s litterally just Oud and rose for the whole way and it’s not any special Oud and rose it’s just basic like designer smell.

oakfrag1346

This fragrance is a performance beast. Lasts the whole day and is perfect for the winter. It also projects really well. I love this fragrance.

eliotweg

I sampled this and personally it’s not for me too sweet and makes me feel kinda sick definitely sample this and I know it works for some people but not special in my opinion
Edit: Been wearing this for a few days and it’s grown on me and I love it

iris

If one should write about a particular Montale aoud fragrance, in some sense one is writing about all of them. And one should not worry too much if his writing is true to that particular Montale aoud, distinguishing it from the others. It's all interconnected, a river, an endless variation of notes and words as in The Library of Babel described by Borges.
As the aoud river flows, there are different objects randomly thrown in it: a tonka bean, a vanilla pod, a sandalwood chip, a flower petal or two; a bag of saffron, a jar of rose oil. There have been more distinctions between the first ones, but from one moment on, the need to differentiate already seems ridiculous and unnecessary: if you enjoyed one, you'd enjoy all. If it is not your thing, what would a single tonka bean change for you? What is the sound of one tonka bean clapping?

Shan101beauty

A beautiful oudy rose. Very sweet & sugary candied rose with some darkness from the oud. It has excellent, very strong.

Jkanso

Don’t think twice if you want to buy this, the smell is amazing sweet with a touch of Oud. Nuclear performance!

pua2sassy

This is one of the strongest perfumes i own. i can see both men and women wearing this. this is a sugary, tonka clean oud scent to me. i do find this a bit screechy compared to other oud scents ive smelled, however i think it still smells great! for the price and perfomance, its WELL worth it. i can see some people getting headaches from this scent as it is strong.

blackjack3

Oh my god this stuff is so strong. It’s a nice fragrance, but definitely not something you should wear all the time (for the sake of others). Very sweet and synthetic, with a tinge of oud, and a good amount of rose and vanilla!

Xutpr

Quite good projection, does though smell very sweet and the alcohol scent lingers in the back. This scent is more of a unisex but is still good, although a bit too powdery for my liking. I would give this a 6.5 out of 10, although it is not for everybody and not good for a blind buy. The scent could be better on others but just too airlike and you can find cheaper clones out there, and it does smell slightly synthetic.

FragZappa

I get burning plastic on my skin. One time I left a plastic yogurt lid on a coffee burner, and somhow the switch was bumped or something znd the burner was left on. The whole house stunk like burning plastic. I played find the smell for 2 days before I figured out the source. The burning plastic smell saturated my sense of smell snd it was burned in my DNA. This smells like that.

jbfragrances22

Do yourself a favor and pick up the Pendora Scents clone Noir D’Arabie. Extremely similar and less than half the cost of the OG

genec123

This is not similar to instant crush

Cmsed

What a letdown!! I ordered a discovery set direct from Montale and this was the most excited I've ever been to sample a scent because of the over-hyped reviews. Honestly, I now think most are sponsored because there's barely any sillage. It will last but only you will smell it. As for the scent, either my nose is broken or others are lying. I don't get any of the beautiful notes others rave about, instead this smells like a cheap teenage body spray you'd get at TJ MAXX. What a waste.

SnobDecimator

Wow very good. Not sure why everyone is complaining about headaches. My olfactory cranial nerves were severed in an injury when I was dropped on my head as a kid, so this triggers ZERO headaches for me.

BTW I'm a decompensating diabetic male that only likes thickly sugary sweet fragrances right on par with the current fad. I either use this fragrance or cover myself in cotton candy and Quaker's brown sugar oatmeal every morning - just how women like men. Between each spray of this fragrance (and I do 10 in total), I take an additional estrogen pill. My ancestors were gladiators btw.

FragBoss

A must have for every collection in my opinion! Crazy projection and sillage; a massive room filler, everybody will smell you

Aicfr

One of the best things my nose has ever smelled

Lykopa

Veryyy similar to Instant Crush by Mancera. Fun, sweet tonka bean with a nice hit of saffron and rose. Rich and gorgeous. Sweet!

AnniePruana

Addicted to this. No rose I keep seeing that question here. Spicy Spicy Vanilla. Somewhat sweet but it isn't the signature. I haven't smelled anything like this. I wear it alone and have layered it with a variety of scents. To me this is a must for every collection. It stands apart from anything else. Get a sample first, I didn't appreciate on the first spray a couple of days later after spraying again I ordered the FB. On the Montale site with every FB you get a free 20ml scent of your choice.

onurdroid

Nothing special. It's very similar to other sticky sweet heavy tonka bean+sugar based fragrances. Great sillage, great longevity but not worth the price. Reminds me of Armani SWY Intenseley. It's not same but very similar like %70-80 percent. I prefer SWY for price/performance. I think most people will not be able to feel the difference except those who paid this much money to Arabians Tonka (: Don't get me wrong it's ok fragrance, if you have money and into super sweet fragrances go for it but you haven't i think you will be happy with SWYI very much.

charawantsyou

@Ralph01478 The rose is not dominant and I don't get the rose so much def get the sugar cane vanilla tonka and oud

Ralph01478

Please can someone assist, does this have a rose smell? I don’t like rose smell in perfume, decant is not available in my country. Someone here said it smells like Oud mood by Lattafa which I hate so much because of the jammy rose

carlosgarciaa_

I feel like I need to write this review. The first time I heard about this fragrance was on an insta page which was recommending it. I like sweet fragrances so I saved the post.

I live in Spain so this type or fragrances are rare in the common stores like Druni or Primor. You have to go to specially niche stores to buy them.
But 2 weeks ago I was in Madrid for a couple days and I entered one of these stores. What a surprise, the whole collection of Montale Paris was there and therefore an Arabians Tonka bottle.

I tried it because I was so hype with it, and I liked it but not that much. When I got home that day (I put it on in the morning) I was still smelling!! The dry down was sooooo much better than I expected. The notes combination is so magically balanced. The tonka bean is astonishing, and Iove the prominent and spicy vanilla and bergamot. Just at the end you get that oud punch that makes it perfect for me. Not a super strong oud but not negligible.

If you like sweet perfumes this is the perfect one, enormous performance and silage, gets compliments easily, gets better when drying down. A 10/10 for me, one of my favorites winter perfumes. Just be careful with the number of sprays you put on you cause you can choke someone with more than 2-3. Seriously, it’s so powerful. I personally use it for special occasions.

perfume_angel

I came back for an update 2 years later, so I sort of got distracted with other fragrances and neglected this beauty for a few months. I picked it up today and OMG. It has become even sweeter, more buttery, more delicious. It’s literally a perfect gourmand oud! The vanilla in this is so luscious and thick, it’s like a sugar vanilla oud pudding. If this fragrance had a texture it would literally be custard or pudding, so velvety smooth! 🍦🪵🍮

In saying so, I have tried many oud vanilla scents since I purchased this one, and let me tell you, this is still the BEST vanilla oud on the market in my humble opinion. Sooo addictive and the sillage is insane it’s such a beast mode fragrance. Ok I am officially re-obsessed and can’t put this down anymore lol

Oldspice

I've been a fan of the original Arabians. I'm picky about leather scents and it's one of the few ones I really like.

I finally got around to getting a bottle of Arabians Tonka and I have mixed feelings. It's not as much of a difference from the original as I was expecting. It's like the original leather scent but with some added sweetness that I'm not interpreting as tonka bean specifically. In the drydown I don't know if I could distinguish between the two scents unless I was comparing them side by side.

I'm not sure why the tonka version has so much hype surrounding it when the original does not.

It is one of the Montales that have crazy performance, 12-24 hour longevity.

Yonik_Va

It's good

gourmandgyaani

this does remind me of oud mood, someone else has also mentioned this below and that is very true
I love Oud Mood and have used it to death and finished multiple bottles
I am a lot more conservative with this one given the price point but have been generously using it lately.
I wore it for my wedding reception dinner and I think it was a great decision. it was a full vibe.
I was so busy and overwhelmed I stopped noticing it after a while but I do hope my guests, everyone who met me, could get a whiff of this beautiful beast.
love this perfume.

Dy7no

Performance BEAST. It's an amazing sweet and warm scent that lasts at least 12 hours on skin and a week on clothes. 10/10 except for the bottle.

H47E

Very good perfume, I can still smell it after a week, but its projection its just moderate

Ralph01478

@n.ben885. In what % is it similar to Lattafa Oud mood? Please assist so has not to waste my funds

n.ben885

Got this in a sample today, smells beautiful. Very sweet, a saffron that gives it a br540 undertone and a pleasent oud. If I hadn't already boughten oud mood by lattafa (which smell quite similar imo), I would've boughten this. 8/10

Scentmonk

Arrived today as my first niche perfume. Absolutely beautiful scent with a sugary twist . Insane longevity and projection , definitely a 10/10 for me

UsamaAbuMessi

Definitely a Middle Eastern fragrance. I wore that fragrance and went to my friends to ask them if it smells good. Funny thing is, my friends who are non-arab say that it smells fine but there is better fragrances like SWY Intensely, however my arab friends said that it smells so good and reminds them of the middle east because of the Oud note.

Weird thing tho is that its mentioned that Arabians Tonka’s 4 top main accords are the same as the one with SWY Intensely but somehow they smell like 2 different fragrances, not really similar. Overall I’d rate this 10/10. Longevity is incredible, projection is not as crazy as people described but still projects good, and the compliments, you’ll mostly get that from arabs hahahaha

AstralMatrix

Man, I don't remember my sample of Arabians Tonka smelling like root beer and poop like this full bottle I just got does! I wonder if it's a freshly made batch and it needs maceration.

This batch does have a BR540-ish scent to it. I thought people were crazy, but no, it's true.😬

thesimsdude

Very nice Frag, it is ultra sweet. But the spices make up for just pure sugar smell. My fiance got this for me as a V day gift and she is a keeper!!

AnniePruana

Earthier and better than the Baccarat everyone is wearing. The mix of Saffron and Bergamont opening is well blended. The dry down is cooler with the oakmoss and tonka lingering.

alexandris

Sugary, earthy and rosy.

Opening very much reminds me of Vancleef's Moonlight Rose, so basically a classic citrus sprinkled oud&rose combo. Drydown is ridiculously similar to and as sweet as Tony Iommi MS by Xerjoff but not as potent and loud as that one. Personally don't get the beast mode accolades associated with Arabians Tonka. Better than your average winter scent, yes, but nothing more.

Beginner level oud & rose combo that is mass appealing. I get the hype, but for me it is at most 8/10. Good longevity, better than average sillage, nice and dark scent profile.

I would not recommend this to any Balkan or Middle Eastern people because it smells like your grandmothers' homemade rose jelly.

L77

If you live in the Middle East or have been there, you most likely smelt this scent before. Rosy sweet with a little bit of oud. I wish it had more vanilla or something to balance off the rose as it is overpowering. Not really my thing but if you like rose in fragrances, give it a try.

stonkz

Amazing work of art... projects and lasts like crazy. i sprayed it on outside and walked in and people could smell me 4 meters away, it really fills up a room. initially its very tonka bergamot and saffron based for me in the opening. then it develops into a rose oud. then the drydown is a sweet oud with vanilla like base. I get a marshmallowy/rummy smell on the drydown which is lovely. It isn't feminine but neither is it unisex. some women might be able to pull it off. I would describe it as a femine male fragrance because of the rose. but i don't think anybody would call u feminine for wearing it. Only downside is that it is so powerful u have to think about where ur going when u put this on... a 9/10 for me i think.

Nullz

I love this scent- but others dont. I mainly get the rose and a little hint of oud from this in the opening. But as it dries down, it gets very spicy. Now, I enjoy this fragrance a lot. The longevity is insane, I can still smell it after a shower. The projection is also crazy, it's almost like it gets stronger throughout the day. But, I have one issue with this fragrance. I have had 4 different people tell me it smells like straight alcohol. Rubbing alcohol, Clorox wipes, etc. I personally don't get that scent, but a lot of people around me do. I don't get the cloying sweetness that all the reviews talk about. It's gotten to the point where I've stopped wearing it because I apparently just smell like rubbing alcohol. And I don't believe that I have a fake bottle. I ordered it off maxaroma, and I checked the batch number and it seems real. I also had a decant before buying the bottle, and they smell the exact same. I honestly don't really recommend, unless your fine with people thinking you smell like alcohol.

Skeletonsbytravisscott

Opens with a very sweet saffron and bergamot mix. After 5 minutes you get a jammy rose. 20 more minutes and it’s fully dried down. Very simplistic tonka with a slightly chocolate undertone. 16+ hours with amazing projection(not as good as honey auod). Overall 9.8/10

Ethan871105

Favourite fragrance yet, performance is immaculate and lasts most of the day. For me it’s a real compliment getter. It can really dominate and take over other fragrances and is very unique so it’s perfect if you want to stand out!

blackevans88

Some people are saying it’s not beast mode and some saying it’s ridiculously strong , too much of a beast mode……. What’s the final verdict ? 😂

The_Wac

Pretty amazing. It's strong, and a great projector. The sweet oud-y notes that it Montale is great at are noticeable but the sandlewood is the real powerhouse in this scent. I don't get much rose or oakmoss, but overall this is still a worthwhile standalone scent in the collection as the "sandalwood one". Considering buying a full bottle.

Overall - 9/10
Stillage - (scents are quiet on me) 8/10
Longevity - 8ish hours

genec123

2nd review: I love this. I do not think it's super beastmode, but it is better than average. It's thick, a touch oily, sweet, deep, rich, dark with a touch of saffron. Whoever says this smells like br540 or instant crush is dumb. I have br540 and instant crush. At most it's 30% similar to instant crush. Which is almost nothing. So anyone who says it's another copy of that DNA is clueless.

It's not huge and loud, it's more dense with thicker following scent cloud. Not a massive projector, but pretty good and the sillage will linger around you.

toosimilar

I don't know what's with the people below, but it's not like BR540
Take two bottles, spray on your skin and compare the results
It's a sweet rose-oud-saffron oriental fragrance
Rather close to Intense Cafe and not to BR540

It looks like it's becoming trendy to compare every fragrance with sugar-saffron-amber to Baccarat Rouge ;)

charawantsyou

This damn fragrance reminds me of arab money and their sweet tooth. Total beast mode lasts over 18+ hours on my skin. Don't spray on clothes. Mine stood like 1 month on my clothes.

Please gatekeep :ı

Jixyte

Most compliments you will ever get. Insane projection, Insane performance and best sillage ever! Very unisex fragrance, if you like sweet fragrances this is for you. (do not overspray)

fubar

This fragrance is a wonderful blend of tonka, sugar and warmth. Perfect for any winter/ fall night, this is the scent embodiment of being in a nice warm blanket and drinking a soda with candy. The sugary mix of tonka and vanilla makes a scent to remember. If you love tonka, like myself, this is a must have.

Snicole82

Reviewing after wearing for about a week. Took it on vacay with me…and honestly, it’s just okay. I find it strong and long lasting. The tonka stands out a lot, but that’s honestly about it. There isn’t anything that makes me say “wow.” I think this would be very good for those who very much like tonka over the DNA of Montale fragrances.

QueenbeeSara

This is my favorite perfume.
Its really sexy and the projection is Wild.
People notice you and Will follow you to smell you and ask you what you are wearing.
Its a sweet Rosie Oud fragrance that Will stick in the room for ages.

drapersdon

It's greasy and incredible performance. The most longevity and sillage fragrance I have ever owned. Asked and complimented a lot.

jeffreyzheng

nice smooth fragrance, drydown very sexy

vivan_

Montale Arabians Tonka is an absolute powerhouse in the fragrance world, boasting an impressive longevity of at least 16 hours. This exquisite blend harmoniously fuses rose and oud, creating a sweet, yet captivating aroma. Its smoothness is a testament to its masterful blending, and its projection is simply astounding. Ideal for colder days and more subdued lighting, this fragrance exudes elegance and class, all while maintaining a distinct uniqueness that sets it apart from the rest. Truly, Arabian Tonka is a sophisticated, head-turning scent that leaves a lasting impression.

RossSBarrett

Bought a decant so not 100% sure if it was watered down but I was disappointed , opening starts with saffron then goes straight to sugarcane after 10-15 minutes. Tonka in my favourite note and didnt even pick up on it…….

kerolos

This fragrance is a like not a love for me. It smells good (very sweet musky with BR540 vibe) but it gives me a headache every time i wear it thats why i do not wear as often.

On the other hand the few times i wore it, I received unsolicited compliments from almost everyone i work with and that does not happen at all.

Tobias.Quach

I love the sweet heavy oud and rose. In my opinion it has a scent of warm honey too which is very lovely

easterncrescent

I think Montale took inspiration from Arabian Oud 'Aseel' which was a big hit in the Middle East market. In no way does this smell similar to intense cafe in my view. The sales rep in Harrods London today told me that on sales metrics last month (Dec 23) Montale Arabians Tonka was the single best selling fragrance in the whole fragrance hall (against all the big names Dior Guerlain Tom Ford etc etc). People like it. Of course you could argue that the clients of Harrods are not your typical consumers... more Middle Eastern buyers etc. Rep told me this is wildly popular with both men and women. Yes it's linear yes it's not subtle and complex (did I mention it's nuclear), but for the price you can't deny it's pretty impressive.

thee_argus

went to sample this and they were out of test strips so i used my forearm and it was a terrible mistake. Its an extremely linear and extremely heavy tonka and amber. the tonka smells super synthetic and if you're prone to headaches this will kill you. I dont like gourmand scents what so ever so im biased here, but this is heavy heavy heavy. I can still get a whiff on my arm after two days. just wish my every other scent was this powerful. sickeningly sweet, extremely cloying, and should always be tested on a strip lol. if you wanna smell like you fell into the river at willy wonkas chocolate factory, go for it.

JAIDEEP13

Beast mode sweet fragrance. Well worth the price tag.

JAIDEEP13

Underrated scent IMO. Beast mode for sure and projects well. Lovely sweet smell and a tad boozy but very small note in the background. Worth the money as it lasts forever

minnassatunaft

I made this account just to write a review of this perfume, but after a few minutes of thinking I came to the conclusion that the entire human language probably does not contain the words to describe how maliciosly repugnant, vile and utterly offensive this is.

Very potent and loud in its repulsiveness in a scary way, evoking thoughts much like 'this is surely extremely health hazardous and wearing this will have grave consequences not only for me but for the next 10 generations of my descendants; there is surely a huge chunk of the earth's flora and fauna that has been irreversibly degenerared due to the consequences of the production process and atmosphere presence around the people who wear this horrid unsettling abomination', which I must say I really do admire and salute.

10/10 if what you're looking for can be simply expressed in a singular word and that word happens to be "gnarly"

edmnd47

Arabians Tonka is a very sugary sweet scent, just huge blast of spicy sweetness with rose and oud combo undertones. I really enjoy it and think it is very sexy on a woman. It is perfectly unisex and i had a tons of compliments wearing it as a man ( two ppl told me i smell like an old lady tho lol). And oh my God is this stuff strong. You should go easy on the sprays cause this stuff is nuclear and you will knock out everyone around you if you overspray. Longevity is absurd bro you will smell this on your skin until you take a shower.

Scent: 9/10
Projection 10/10
Sillage: 10/10
Longevity: 10/10

Olives4life

Montale's Arabians Tonka is a captivating fragrance that deviates from its listed accords, creating a unique olfactory experience. The blend of oud, Tonka bean, bergamot, and sugar cane surprisingly crafts a scent that is both fresh and darkly alluring. Its distinctiveness sets it apart, delivering a sensual and sexy allure. Notably, the fragrance's performance is outstanding, ensuring longevity that is truly impressive. A must-try for those seeking a fragrance that defies expectations and leaves a lasting impression.

9.25/10

drraccoon

Modern, classy, sexy, fantastic.

A gorgeous blend of classic middle eastern notes and sexy sweet musk. The oud and rose dance is prominent in the opening then transforms into a sweet almost edible kind of musk. I’m picturing a middle eastern wedding with my arab friends. They’re wearing all they’re opulent oud fragrances. We’re sitting around a table eating dessert.

Elle's Bells

"You smell sexy as hell" was just one of the few compliments I heard this week while wearing Arabians Tonka. Although it's cold outside, I've found that once my skin warms up is when this fragrance begins to bloom and project like crazy. I can literally smell myself if I leave out of a room and walk back in minutes later.
If you like Nebras, then you'll love Arabians Tonka as it's much smoother and doesn't have that weird dry down that Nebras has.

Stays on skin for all day and night and remains on clothes for an eternity. Top 10 4L!!!

addictpiglet

I don’t know if it’s me but i’m not smelling anything similar to what is described here. It’s nothing sweet or vanilla, it’s very bitter and masculine on me, if I didn’t know any better I would 100% say it’s men’s fragrance. That being said it’s beast mode. Hell, you don’t know real beast mode until you’ve known Arabians Tonka. It survives a wash in the laundry. Some girls in the parking lot were wearing it and I immediately told my dad “see, that’s the sample I ordered” When we came back to the parking lot elevator the scent was still there (Maybe the girls left a few minutes before us, but still that’s impressive sillage). If you are being chased by a stalker don’t wear this.

gurubellagio

Quite delicious !! The only fragrance with that BR540 DNA that i can seem to tolerate and i'm kinda thinking about getting a full bottle of it .
Projection and longevity are 10/10 .

sam.stockholm

It smells like you are walking inside Dubai mall the vintage section where they have the local perfumes. Nevertheless, I really like it and it lasts for a long time. Compliments magnet is what this perfume all about. Can be unisex and try to mix it with some other oud fragrances because it's a very sweet scent and mixing it with a stronger oud scent works wonders, I personally mix it with TF oud wood 👌

christnn14

To be honest I don't really get any oud from this scent. Honestly, I'm ok with that, but if you're looking for an oud fragrance you might want to check elsewhere. Maybe it's just my skin chemistry. Anyways, this stuff is amazing. The opening reminds me a little bit of Mercedes Benz Club Black in terms of vanilla and amber. Don't overspray; you might knock out every living being within a two-mile radius. 9/10, I would probably buy this again.

WhippinThroughDaBase

Very sweet scent that projects enormously and stays on skin forever. Similar to other Montale fragrances, but it is sweeter than all of them. Smells kinda luxurious and I would say it leans more masculine.

bsojd_tzldt

I don’t know if anybody else has experienced this, but it genuinely smells like vomit when on my skin.

amandaedgell

OK, so this is my 2nd review of this because I am finally obsessed with a scent after scent chasing for decades. It's a good job we all have different tastes. What a boring world it would be if we all smelt the same. I have collected perfumes for decades. Frequently flying from one love to another. This beauty was my first true love and I'm an old bird, so I don't say that lightly.
It's me, it's mine and all I want to do is bury my nose in it. I even wear it to bed. It lasts forever, I only need a couple of pumps and I'm good for the day. I've lost count of the people who comment on it and HAVE to know what it is, to the point I have to spell it out. Of course, I don't divulge that easily, they have to impress me or work in public services before I remember which one it is 😉
The notes are above and plenty have described the scent, so I'll not go that route, it's such a relative thing it is different for everyone. What I will say is my perfume collection is now going to my daughter, as I have no desire to smell of anything else. P.S this is not a BR clone. I don't like BR but love this. This has its own dna.

plasmascout3

people that say this fragrance has beast mode performance... are absolutely right oh my god this fragrance lasted 18+ hours on my skin and its sillage is INSANEE. For the price and the smell this fragrance is amazing and I recommend it but as @qy3 said 2 comments below me MFK oud satin mood destroys this with it by performance and smell. But for the price I highly recommend it especially with being able to find it on discounters now for like 60-80$ for a 3.4 oz is an absolute steal. overall a 8/10 fragrance to me and I highly recommend it (ALSO IF YOU HAVE EVER SMELT PINK VANILLA WISH BY BODYCOLOGY THIS SMELLS KINDA SIMILAR TO IT JUST WAY MORE UNISEX

Arieeane

I only do one spray max two sprays of this and I’m good. The people thatre overwhelmed w it is because you don’t need more than two sprays.

It’s a gritty sweet (in a sexy way) musky bomb.. the dry down stays on clothes forever!!

As my friend says, this is a date night scent.

qy3

people say its beast mood performance but for me its moderate longevity and strong sillage, for the price the smell is amazing tho i still think MFK oud satin mood destroys it by performance and scent

Scent: 8/10
Sillage: 7/10
Longevity: 7/10
Value: 8/10

Garion

This is like a slightly sweeter version of Louis Vuitton ombre nomade. It permeates your nose in the same way. Similar projection and longevity. The extra sweetness is welcome, it makes it less cloying than ON. Though it still cloys. It smells like fruit flavoured Shisha tobacco when it's wet in the pack.

VictoriaSmells

APPARENTLY I'm one of those people that's particularly sensitive to ambrocenide... or maybe i just have more receptors for it?
But this is just an assault on my sinuses. It's just sharp screechy woody musky pissy fecal oudy animalic BURNING cranked up to the max, and it's the ONLY thing I can smell. Scrubbed 3 times and it's STILL puckering my brain.
This is the worst thing ever, and I can't get it off...

There are other ambers that I adore, so maybe they just use a different ingredient or different formula. But this is just like egregious, mad scientist level. Which is such a shame because all the other notes look like they would be so lovely.

caliwelo

Again, second review for the sake of adjusting myself to this scent. The opening is divisive towards the community, Some say it's good but I'm on the latter side. The opening smells harsh and sweet and bitter, punches you in the face quite a lot so for me I have to walk around let it dry down to a smooth rosey dark chocolate oud scent. I spray 2 times, one on the neck, one in the back. Honestly, I can't stand the projection on this. Yes, it is nuclear, but who wants to be attacked by himself that owns the weapon.

Yusrayacoubi

@Myrtillajus So beautifully written. This is the best review I’ve read on Fragrantica.

caliwelo

Bought this in a Montale outlet while I was hunting for a new fragrance. Tried this and Instant Crush, it is vaguely similar, VAGUELY. This is very sweet, a little bitter undertone to my nose and the rose is just floating in between. This is gonna be my signature scent.

No_nonscents

*Heavy sigh* I legitimately do not understand the trend of duping Baccarat Rouge 540...it was a weird aromachemical blob with hardly any character...then the whole world started wearing it and raving about it. It was and is a disaster fragrance. Now, for some reason beyond me, Montale has decided to dupe this not once, but twice! Their original dupe was Sensual Instinct (which was gifted to me and only then did I realize it was a BR540 dupe) and now this nonsense which is another dupe...which literally no one was asking for. I thought this was going to be a gourmand take on their Arabians fragrance (think dry herbal leather and musk) and I was going to fall in love with it, but instead it is somehow another BR540 clone. I love Montale, but holy shit when they strike out, they strike out hard.

In short, this opens with that saccharine and burnt caramel note found in BR540 and the bizzaro amberwood or dreamwood or ambrofix or whatever chemical amber and wood soup they have going on in here...and a few hours in it sort of mellows into a peppery and woody sort of mixture that is a slight deviation from BR540. If I had to chose one of the dozens of clones, it would be this one as it is overall a more enjoyable experience, but I would honestly choose none as it is sort of a gimmick scent that people shell over hard-earned cash for and it is basically a sweet, synthetic soup.

Montale, I love you, but you need to get your shit together and stop cloning and duping mediocre swill. You have made some absolute bangers (looking at you Honey Aoud) and I want more of that, please and thank you.

dommymichelle

I smelled this on my taxi driver in Rome — got in the cab and said oh my god it smells so good in here?? He was shocked because he sprayed two spritzes in the morning (it was 3pm at the time). I need to smell this on my skin! It’s phenomenal and evidently quite powerful and long lasting.

EDIT: this is the most beast mode perfume I’ve ever experienced. I just got a whiff of something … it’s my BRALETTE that I was wearing under a t-shirt when the salesperson sprayed me for a test … THREE DAYS AGO! the test strip of paper I got from them 10 days ago also smells so strong (I notice it walking by, not even holding the paper to my nose). Truly eternal. Massive projection.

This is super sweet but not cloying. Strong saffron. What I wanted BR540 to be (I prefer this). Beautifully done. I have some perfumes with similar vibes so I’m debating a bottle but… I’ll probably end up with this.

ataraxiuh

so far i love this, amazing smokey tonka i wanna bury my face in the chest of someone wearing this. the tonka in this reminds me vaguely of jo malone myrrh & tonka, which i love. i don’t know how well it would suit me personally but it smells incredible. i haven’t sprayed this on my skin yet but one tiny spray on a tester strip filled my entire bedroom, this is probably the strongest fragrance i’ve ever tested.

StinkyKat

A lot has been said about this perfume. It is hyper beast mode, last forever, you are in danger of suffocating those around you if you overspray, it's a beautifully made Tonka perfume. I swear I can smell the notes in my head when I think about the perfume, how is this possible? Since is quite strong for yours truly 😊 I found the perfect layering combo for this one. Layer the arabians Tonka with the BDK velvet tonka. Go very light on the arabians Tonka and apply more of the BDK. Thank me later 😉.

Myrtillajus

“Your name will be Arabic, virtue will reside in the tuft of your forehead and in the strength of your rump.
It is you that I have chosen from all the animals and I will make your master your friend.
I have given you the power to fly without wings, both to attack and retreat [...]"
This is what Allah said to the wind after transforming it into an Arabian horse.
Arabians Tonka is certainly one of the most widespread and smelled fragrances.
A combination of rose, Oud and saffron with notes (they are not declared but I perceive them) slightly leathery in the drydown, to remember this magnificent animal which inspired it.
A beautiful woman in a silk dress riding a thoroughbred Arabian in the desert.
Opulent, sweet, oriental.
In my opinion for the colder seasons, with extreme sillage .
It's not my style, but it's undeniably a beautifully crafted fragrance.

TomCollins

This is exactly what you would expect , in a good way .

JBrazy

Those saying that it smells like feces has something against this fragrance truly. I don't even know how you guys get that.

Hassoni

Always tought this one would give me a "mehh" reaction but I was wrong. ARabians Tonka is goood.

chayg123

This starts very floral/incense scented and definitely gives you those Middle East/Arab vibes and has an almost Turkish delight scent to it.

The top and heart notes are very strongly present and blend well whilst being easily picked out with each sniff. The sugar, tonka bean and musk fall a little more to the wayside and more so serve to take the harshness off the top and heart notes.

The longer it dries down, the more the woody scents come out, the more masculine it turns. Very very strong, only need a few sprays. It gives off a very strong incense vibe so if you like smelling like a Turkish delight incense stick, this is for you.

This is definitely a more unisex scent, there’s a layer of smokiness that makes it smell a little more masculine than other unisex perfumes though.

I won’t be going for a full bottle of this, I doubt I would ever reach for it but the scent is not as offensive as Bianco Latte was for me (sweet baby vomit? No thanks.)

scachomba

It's the same with ristretto intense cafe. No difference... I love both

MagcMermaid

Be careful with this fragrance! I love love love this scent but I can not smell it on me. I went to town over spraying skin and clothes. This choked everyone out! I got SO many complaints and gagging noises! Go easy on this one - it smells so good but is easy to go anosmic to.

genec123

My updated review on this:

Oh lawd, oh my lawd goodness halp, this smells soooooooooooo dang good it's intoxicating to me. It truly is obnoxiously intoxicating. It's so good it's annoying. It's not a monstrosity of projection, it's more thick and oily so it leaves a sheen wherever you spray it. This gives you a more thick following scent bubble. I think the longevity is good

It's rich, sweet but not happy designer sweet. A bit dark and sensual. I just love it

JusttheFactsMan

#492 in my "Tour de Fragrance"

After I pronounced Arabians to be "a middling scent that's okay, but just okay" I had a couple of community members tell me to try the Tonka version, and they were not joking. DO NOT SPRAY CLOTHING WITH THIS! The amount of oil in this stuff leaves a slick wherever it's sprayed. This is like a scented oil, not parfum, let alone EDP. My skin literally shines with oil with a single spray. And this stuff will blow out the windows. A Chinook helicopter leaking hydraulic fluid and JP-8 doesn't project fumes like this stuff for the first hour. It is strong enough to fumigate an Arkansas outhouse. If folks aren't smelling this from six feet away you got a very different batch than I got. Even more oudy than Swiss Arabian Shaghaf Oud, which I only use for layering.

Absolutely not for car pools, public transport, elevators, offices. Honestly, I would not wear this to a dinner date unless we could be seated outdoors unless this had had a few hours to calm down. But still, I like this stuff! But do NOT blind buy this! Get a sprayette and try it out, maybe try layering it with your favorite freshie to lighten this very heavy scent.

Good Luck, and Good Hunting!

Something in this DNA, shared by Lattafa Khamrah and Kenzo Jungle l’Elephant, just makes me so nauseous. Not sure what it is but it is artificial, screechy and just really unpleasant. It’s almost like if Splenda were a scent.

Avesworld27

Batch code: 103923

Just got it for $100. If you are buying this fragrance because you think it's "light", "sweet", and airy, or has some insane room filling projection, don't get it. It is however, heavy-sweet. This is not a bad thing at all, for me. There was a hand sanitizer smell on the first whiff which quickly went away. The warm-spicy amber blends beautifully with the rose and oud giving this scent a solid body, coupled with the saffron sweet transition (after the hand sanitizer-like opening) which stays for a good 2-3 hours. After the second hour, it transitions into being a little more sweet. The oud is pretty prominent. Very middle eastern Arabic perfume. Beautiful, but 100% not for everyone.

Projection is an 8/10, I might be noseblind, but it is not a room filler according to a third party's nose. They had to get within arm's length to get a good whiff.

Sillage would be a 8-9/10, it's good! You can even test this by walking forward, then turning around and you would get a very prominent smell. Of course, as per usual, nothing like what reviewers are saying about insane room filler vibes.

Longevity: On skin it's Pending, it's staying on there and projecting pretty well.

This has NOTHING in common with instant crush so please ignore the other commenters.

Sidenote: this stuff is oily, and stained my sweater. I have switched to only spraying my neck and armpit crease so the folds cover up the stain.

Scent_Freak

Just received a decant today! This is straight up mancera Instand crush lol. And it’s strong as heck

Nicholas Seian

Many people say that this perfume is truly extraordinary, but after I smell it, it doesn't work well for my nose... The perfume is too sweet for me, pleasant to smell for once or twice, but if I smell it repeatedly, I feel nauseous. I also don't detect any saffron at all in it

tylerleighbittner

Please help! Can anyone tell me what the note is in this that is bitter/peppery? I love this smell except for that and it seems to linger on my skin FOREVER. I want to avoid fragrances with this note in the future.

Charmedbymeghan

This scent has nothing to do with Instant Crush. It does have a touch of Roses Vanille / Intense Cafe in it though (more IC than RV*)... it has that same DNA and Addictive quality. Very loud and long-lasting. It is screechy but enjoyable in an obnoxious way.

gogerix

Similar perfumes section is all over the place. To me, this smells very close to Mancera's Aoud Vanille. Quite similar peppery vanilla (tonka) woods combo, but with a bit of funk for half an hour or so. Like the oud in here is dirtier than in Aoud Vanille. Nothing at all like Intense Caffe or Instant Crush.

xavi617

Not sure how this fragrance isn’t going off the charts right now. The moment I sprayed it, I fell in love with it. I did pick up on something incredibly familiar. Took me a while to connect the dots to Instant Crush/BR540. This does remind me a bit more of Instant Crush since it has more masculine traits than BR540. This gem has a sexy Tonka , Rose & Oud that really sets it apart. Highly recommend adding this to your collection, even if you dislike oud, you’ll love this.

verisumaz

The first smell hit me with a HONEY note, the girls that were with me also agreed on that, so coming here i really expected to see honey. I am sure this note comes from the Bulgarian Rose, which is way way sweeter than any other rose around the world 🌹
I've been recommended this fragrance and i expected to love it but sadly it is just too sweet and somehow manly to me. Some commenter said it will take me back to shisha bars and mosques... it only took me to my dad's perfume collection 😭
It could take me there... if only it was a tiny bit more sophisticated...

It dries down beautifully, the scent is definitely taking you on a journey as it unwinds, which i love.

AMAZING performance though! Best one I've ever had!

Furdong

Nothing beats this. I have like 10 perfumes. This gets guaranteed a compliment each time. Nothing will ever get more complements then this. It projects and lasts as much as red tobacco. Complete beast mode, easy blind buy, I did blind test vs 20 other samples with two other people and we all agreed this was easy winner without knowing what it was.

pinklagoon

True to its name, Arabians Tonka is a nostalgic embrace of shisha bars and mosques. It takes you on a journey; heady, complex, boozy notes, lingering on your skin for hours like a story unfolding. The sweetness is fleeting, and the rose (which I don't typically enjoy) very softly emerges. I don't see the similarities at all to Baccarat Rouge, and there are too many nuances in this fragrance to make it a safe blind buy.
Its colossal sillage & longevity demand caution, a little too much and it could come off as arrogant & intrusive, but the right spritz feels confident & bold. Tall dark and handsome in a bottle.

cafeyleche

I love this fragrance on my body chemistry but don't understand the Baccarat reference. To my sensitive nose, I don't get any similarities, but I do get a similar feeling when I wear Tom Ford's Black Orchid. It's beautiful in the cold, and in moderation. If you overspray you will die from asphyxiation.

inyourface23456

too strong and doesnt smell that good. Very mediocre it smells like sugar and some weird scent that i cant put a finger on, my dad said it was disgusting and it projected even on my way to and back from school

Angelic3432

A nice unisex scent I would wear during cooler weather but it leans feminine. There's a sweetness in the drydown I'm enjoying too.

don00

i guess similar to instant crush, but has a hint of that odour when you were on a school bus and someone was sick in the back and the bus had a warm lingering child vomit smell. luckily this does seem to go away after it dries down but still not for me

PrincessKitana

For me the opening is like intense cafe and dry down A la baccarat rouge. A nice smell , bettered than intense cafe imo

spaceybailey

One of my favorites from Montale... Imagine a WILD horse. Like the one in the movie THE BLACK STALLION. Nothing holding it back. Bold, powerful and enigmatic. I wouldn't dare compare it to any other perfume. There's nothing like it. It smells amazing by itself but really sexy when layered with a vanilla scented body lotion, or even a strawberry perfume. Perfect for both him & her. Not sweet at all, only the opening but turns boozy very quickly, spicy, but very sensual. It's a DARK, mysterious fragrance that only the BRAVE can wear. Like Princess MERIDA of DunBroch, currently dating, long sleek RED hair (now owns a hair straightener) wearing all black, EQUESTRIAN STYLE. That goes on late night RIDES with Angus, whenever she wants to feel FREE. That's how I feel about this perfume. BISOUS

genec123

This is NOTHING LIKE KHAMRAH I cannot believe you said that. It's deep, rich dark sweet kinda like black orchid. I mean it's in the same vein but not floral

Also the projection, I don't feel like its that strong. I'm at 6 sprays and not feeling overwhelmed at all. It's quite mild actually. Maybe it's due to my batch being new. I do love the smell, but I'm not feeling the beast mode like everyone says

giuseppeeefoti

beast mode projection, lasts up to 16 hours, when I put it on the night before i can still smell it the morning after
PS: lasts about 3-4 weeks on clothes💀

Daumants95

I got a 10ml sample of this and at the start when I strayed it it smelled super weak, but a bit later it started to become very strong, and lasts a solid 10-12h. It smells like rose oud but very sweet. A very nice fall, winter and maybe even spring fragrance.

gourmandgyaani

I agree with the pervious review - this is actually quite similar in that boozy sweet way to khamrah, which is one of my favourite perfumes so it is no surprise that I love this.
my bottle sat and macerated for literally a year before I have now started wearing it
it is gorgeous this perfume. sweet without being like, overwhelmingly infantile and girly.
its more of an older, stronger woman sweet. I love it.
I could bathe in this stuff. perfect for winters.

samudex

This is pretty similar to Khamrah by Lattafa. Licor notes, very sweet and oriental.

nightshade133

Somebody wrote this is a "Dark Vampire Triad" scent and I fully agree!

When I received a free sample of this with another purchase, I sprayed it once on my wrist and decided it was not for me. So strong! But there was something addictive about it, so I decided to use up the sample at least. Over the course of the next few days Arabians Tonka really, really grew on me. Bought a full bottle 2 weeks later.

The oud is strong, it's sweet, resinous, enveloping. I find it easy to pull off as a woman, goes with my personality and presentation somehow. I wear just a single spray, no more. My country is hot and humid, I wear it in the summer. It fades just a little with the heat but that just balances it out more in my opinion. I love it. This thing shoot up my confidence and makes me feel lux. I'd recommend it if you like strong perfumes and don't mind standing out.

Parting notes- the longevity is fantastic. Lasts 8-12 hours on the skin, sometimes through a shower. Lasts forever on clothes. Sillage is good! Not loud enough to annoy people but definitely enough to make you stand out.

ExclusiveApe

Rose and feces is all I smell. Pretty nasty on my skin. I had a decant and couldn't give it away because everyone that smelled it hated it. Seems like TikTok has given this a boost.

chri5tin3

I finally received my sample of this and it smells EXACTLY like Mancera Instant Crush on me, if only a touch more masculine in the opening.

It's perfectly unisex, warm and sweet, and it lasts and projects all day long.

I just have no reason to purchase it as I already own Instant Crush but it is BEAUTIFUL.

UPDATE

Ok wait... I tried this again with Instant Crush on my other wrist to compare the two and they're not as similar as I thought. Instant Crush is fresher and lighter because of that rose note and Arabians Tonka is spicier. They have a similar base and DNA but distinct enough to tell the difference.

If anything, this smells veryyyy similar to PDM Oajan and I can't believe I haven't seen anyone compare the two. This may be going on my list after all 🤭

zaimazhar

As someone living in the east and lives around the Muslims community, this scent is so familiar in the mosque or in any Arab-based restaurants.
Glad I got myself a sample before going for the full bottle due to the hype.
The name's attar oil, which generally ludicrously cheap. I mean like super cheap, around 7$ can get you a 20ml bottle, just to smell like Arabians Tonka. The SPL and performance are not that bad either, can last you 4 to 5 hours.

At some points, AT smells like Ameer Al Oudh Intense. I don't know about the others but no one has claimed it smells like it yet.

Nevertheless, I do understand this type of scent is scarce in the west and it makes you smells unique. I do appreciate the middle eastern scent being popularize in the west too. 🤗

Tshahb

Ghastly, obnoxious, screechy migraine hell.
There's some nice notes but they're overwhelmed by overdosed aroma chemicals, one of which I'm sure is ambrocenide. If you're "blessed" with the ambro-sensitivity gene like me, this will be noxious chemical warfare for you. It's almost as bad as Sauvage.

chessbee

Has a strong peppery opening that gives it a masculine vibe. But as it dries down, it becomes sugary, caramelly, sweet. Honestly? It has the DNA of Intense Cafe. In the air, they smell so similar to the untrained nose. My bf who isn’t into perfumes literally said they smell soooo alike. IC just has the coffee note while AT has that smoky peppery-smelling note. Drydown is almost identical. If you have IC, you might not need this if you’re going for a diverse collection. But if you like that deep, amber, jammy rose that smells boozy and sexy, I don’t see a reason why you shouldn’t own both.

Actually, I sold mine away. For some reason, it didn’t suit my body chem. Wasn’t really nuclear on me (April batch) but on my bf, it lasted so long that his mom instantly smelled him right when he walked through the door lol. At the same time, it’s one of the perfumes that will WEAR YOU if you don’t fit the scent profile. I like my deep gourmands but when I wear this, it’s like I have to match my personality and my outfits to it instead of the perfume matching me. Idk if that makes sense. This scent really gives the vibe of a old rich strong boss woman/man, wearing an all black jumpsuit with gold jewelry.

ambervxyjul

A review said if you took mancera crush and roses vanille you get arabians tonka! Pretty accurate description and I own all three. It’s a syrupy jammy rose, heavy but wearable oud and a vanilla sugared base. Definitely going to be a fall/winter scent for me. I heard it’s nuclear but haven’t tested that out yet! It’s so sweet that it becomes addicting to keep sniffing.

Update: It’s definitely a very strong scent. I only sprayed few times and not kidding a friend at a house party got an allergic reaction to this smell and kept rubbing his eyes all night. He had to take allergy medicine. I felt pretty uncomfortable but he said all perfumes do that to him! Yikes.

Dreamknight0818

I need help in choosing . To me there a similarity of this and Hypnotizing Fire by The Harmonist . Which one would you choose ?

dantek121

Spray Mancera Instant crush and Mancera Roses Vanille together and ta-da you have Arabians Tonka. Just look at the notes if you don't believe me. Not a big fan of either so I was disappointed when I received this. Also the tin-can bottle sucks. Don't believe the tik-tok hype and try for yourself.

mohammedamouri2008

Um okay wt# this thing is so so so so strong like goddamn and smells so nice literally smells like vanilla sugar cookie with a tiny touch of sexy rose, it's so alluring and addictive and can be worn by both genders.

Personally I'll wear it to school☠️

Yeah if you have the money it's a no brainer.

Idk what to say there's no human who would say this isn't good, it's just so sexy NGL I kinda wanna lick my arm sometimes

Frankton

Just tested out my new AT one spray on the inside of my arm. This bad boy changes heavily for the first hour. The dry down sticks like glue!
I've just had a hour soak in the bath and it didn't touch the sides.
Had to use wet wipes 🤣

It's a great smell but it was getting a bit too much after 8 hours of beast mode! Thank god I only got a 20ml bottle it will last me years!

Do not overspray!

NoirMemoir

Montale Arabians Tonka (A.T.) and Mancera Instant Crush(I.C.) are two fragrances that are so similar that i have a hard time distinguishing which is which so keep that in mind if you are interested in Pierre Montale's perfumes.

In terms of scent, it is a sweet saffron dominated fragrance featuring the signature soapy rose that Montale uses in his compositions. People liken the sweetness to that found in Baccarat Rouge and its true. The difference to my nose is BR540 has more of a burnt sugar, candy sweetness that leans more feminine a bit whilst Arabians Tonka / Instant Crush has a more powdery/creamy sweetness that is specific to the tonka note which is slightly more unisex. In the first couple of hours the bright soapy rose is dominant, while the tonka completly takes over in the drydown.

Performance wise they are the strongest fragrances in my collection. The only ones i can smell strongly from a tiny spray on the top of my hand, very oily fragrances. I detect the smell even the day after, don't even get me started on clothes. The perfume rubs off my neck on to the collar of my daily winter coat and it won't come out unless washed and even then traces of the smell and the stain are still there. Matter of fact the next day i don't even have to apply any fragrance couse it will just rub off onto my skin again and i'll get whafts of it. It can get annoying to be honest couse it mingles with whatever you try to wear afterwards so its a commitment to wear them

Who can wear it? I'd say they are unisex, with a slight tilt towards feminine but i like it and wear it in the winter. In the summer just forget it.

Edit: Tried both of them side by side again and yea...they are incredibly similar, the only difference is Arabians Tonka has a more pronounced rose then Instant Crush.

Gourmandgurl888

Idk what it is with Montale testers that never last on me but the actual product does? Today I got to try this one and from the card knew I really liked it so I tried on the skin and contrary to people saying how projectile and strong this is, the tester just doesn’t project on my skin? The same thing happened with my Sensual Instinct but I’m ever so happy that I bought it because the one I bought lasted and projected amazingly!

Anyway this scent is of course amazing an amazing work of vanilla sweetness without being cloying but that oud, amber and saffron glide in to balance it out. Definitely unisex maybe more feminine with how sweet it is.

Should I bite the bullet and buy this hoping that it’ll project better? I guess we will have to wait and see…

Moeebra

People think I’m insane because I keep sniffing my hand. Addictive sweet fragrance and absolutely phenomenal scent profile. Montale need to work on their atomizers. 9.5/10

Tálas

This is my favorite fragrance right now, and NO it does not smell like feces, idk what they're on
First it smells very deep dark you smell the oud and the rose and then it slowly and very smoothly transforms into the tonka bean and the sugar, i love this so much

Yeaa_ant

I know right 👇👇

theexperience

How the fuck do you smell this and think of animal feces?!

kbro4897

With notes like saffron, oud, and rose, it just feels expensive. I mean, just look at the stats; enormous, eternal, unisex, good value, upward trending, 4+ rating. This one really does check all the boxes.
I may be partial here, as Montale is my favorite houses, but Arabians Tonka is a beautiful powerhouse of a sugary sweet fragrance that is sure to garner compliments in the cooler weather.

Mathj34

Only recently had this and it's already my most complemented it is a beast of a fragrance two sprays is all you need with this one .
