i got a mini of this perfume and it's really nice. ambery carnation with some patchouli for the most part. starts out more green then turns more musky/ambery over time, along with florals. i think i get mostly rose and gardenia with a hint of ylang ylang. it reminds me of anne klein 2, maybe slightly greenier and woodier. the plum is really nice too-this smells very 80s/90s and reminds me of my younger years. really pretty vintage, glad i found some!

brandiwine1980

I love this Moschino! I got a vintage splash mini! My first Moschino! I’ve been wanting to try this for at least 10 years and it did not disappoint! I can detect the plum, spices, amber and a hint of rose. This gives me Toujours Moi vibes and Chantilly, but I may like this one the best! I am going to compare them in the near future when I’m feeling cozy and vintage! I definitely will be buying a full bottle sooner than later. If you like Habanita, Tabu or the ones I mentioned above, you have to try this! I had Must de Cartier and I believe that one was very strong. There may be similarities, but I don’t believe it’s a dupe. Tabu is different than this so not a dupe either. Perhaps a similar dry down. Anyhow, if you love spicy, amber scents, I think this is right up your alley.

Vertsu

Horrendous headache inducer and vomiting provoker concoction. It's a nauseating smell of incense mixed with aged rose and gardenia. Probably would be a success in the year 1920. Very similar to Elizabeth Taylor white diamonds and the original chanel n5 (the very old version). A blind buy, luckily was a small sample, which went directly to the trash bin.

iksir

Opening reminds me a lot of Chanel No 19, drydown is an almost opposite soft en musky comforting scent. Nice & classic

KarenDB81

Een heerlijk houtachtige geur, met een zilte 'nasmaak'. Een beetje oud ruikend, met een moderne toets. Een sterk parfum, dat even goed kan gedragen worden door een man.

Filosykos

I'm a guy and I just bought this today.
My how times have changed it could easily be marketed as a masculine fragrance.
Think of this as a more upscale obsession.
The box and bottle are very luxurious.
This must have been very upscale back in the late 80's and was probably expensive.

madonnatella

in the 1980s my mother and me wore the 'parfum de toilette' of this stupefying perfume. it has a cachet all of its own. we both had a knack for the worst 'hookers' of the 1980s, POISON, COCO, OBSESSION, KNOWING, GIORGIO, MOSCHINO, (earlier originated:) OPIUM, NAHEMA, BIJAN, (later) GALE HAYMAN BEVERLY HILLS, BOUDOIR. of course also Christian Lacroix' 'C'est la Vie !'. but Moschino's fashion (starting I think in 1984) had an obvious referencing to the CHANEL suit, but satirised, playfull, ironic. Karl Lagerfeld already did all of that as well as a lending of sanctity to his Haute Couture so I never heard of any lawsuit or whatever. Karl did EVERYTHING with CHANEL and 'toute le monde'. so when I thought of writing a review I thought of how this particular perfume (heavier still thèn because pdt) YET reminesces for me to that Grande Dame Chanel No 5. it is a Chanel No.5 punked up. Chanel No 5 will ALSO always be indispensable for me and I groupe it with these 'ladies who lunch': Jean Patous JOY, Hermès's CALèCHE (not these fucking flankers), Miss Dior (originally from 1947, I remember when I started with perfumes in 1974 when you saw Dior on the shelves they still had the 1950s and 1960s jackets on). Madame Rochas, Ivoire de Balmain. all different and yet in their austere hauteté similar indeed, ladies. the whores of the 1980s ended that era, yet didn't destroy their unexpected resilient classicism. MOSCHINO has proven to be classic too. I always smelled something like Chanel No 5 with either cumin, caraway, and now it appears to be nutmeg grains. Christian Lacroix' 'C'est la Vie !' also had a twist. they belonged to the angry young women and men (the women: Agnes B, Marilyn Miglin, Chantal Thomass, Donatella Versace, Madonna, Prada but then rather Krizia, Jil Sander et cetera) who deterritorialized all borders in music, fashion , parfumerie, sometimes all together. it was a shock that MOSCHINO died so quickly after his fashion Imporium had begun. it was the decade of AIDS. I just wanted to give some background information because this perfume stll steals hearts with its e.d.t. and it definitely sits firmly in my heart as does MOSCHINO who had a handsome but rather first, mischievous Italian face with a petite moustache....

one of the best perfumes i've worn in my life. my first time wearing it was an old bottle from my mother, and i absolutely love it! this perfume reminds me of the 80s for some reason? it might just be the bottle, which i love the design of. very simple yet so good, the ribbon is cute as well. this perfume is honestly perfect to be honest.. i'm in love with warm/spicy perfumes, and this one is at the top of my list. so good every time. lasts for very long as well and is very strong! overall, love this perfume a lot, so sad it got discontinued, but there are a few sites to still buy it off of :3

krmarich

Hailing from the "larger than life" late 80s giants, Moschino put this quirky fashion house on the couture map. I am stunned by its strength. This enters the scene among the titans-Joop, Bijan, Coco, Clandestine, Animale, Montana, Passion, Gem, Samsara and Boucheron. Dripping in diamonds, blatantly wearing fur and black fishnet stocking, these babies mean business!

The first thing that I thought was CK Obsession. Both are amber heavy (yum) with the florals discreetly tucked away. Moschino has a heavy Italian accent leaning more towards Venezia or Teatro Alla Scala with no real comparison. This is a class that will never be smelled again, sadly. Original, no. Unique, definitely! Expensive? VERY!

Moschino is only floral forward after about 30 minutes after a harsh green opening (yes, real galbanum) and then you get some honeysuckle, gardenia, jasmine, tuberose and lots of ylang ylang. There are peppery spices and herbs(oakmoss, patchoui and vetiver) all packed onto a dense vanilla/amber/sandalwood/musk base. No, they don't make them like this anymore:( Moschino enters the room before you do and spreads far and wide for about an hour before gently becoming your aura for the rest of your day. This is not office friendly! Offices cannot handle such glamour...

You wear Moschino when you expect to have a good time. The perfume will guarantee this will happen.

Feuerzeug

This perfume is the epitome of marketing. People seem obsessed with the old Italian vibe, polished shoes, beautiful dressed and old money. Moschino embodies that old school luxury vibe, so get it.
To me however this smells like my grandma’s old closet - dust, mothballs, old soap, washed bed linens that have seen better days.
It specifically reminds me of a solid perfume my grandmother had in the early 90s - Vaseline-like texture, artificial lemon and floral monster.
Gifted to my mother in law.

I do love the Moschino Uomo though .

Gyps

Gorgeous. Right up my alley this one. Love ❤️

Wow if i like dana tabu will i like this????i will have to try to find a sample

Ferra_Verto

The love child of Bal a Versailles and Van Cleef's Van Cleef perfume. Spicy and smoky, with a muddled syrupy sweetness that just works. Definitely unisex in my book, I think anyone can wear this with confidence.
Best in the cold, lasts for at least 6-8 hrs, projects strongly for the scent's duration.
Lovely addition, definitely back up bottle worthy.

drugstore classics

A previous reviewer is correct that Moschino leans masculine. It's a perfect example of how vintage femininity has enough green POW to be considered unisex by today's standards. On me, there is only a gentle hay-like sweetness in Moschino, and unlike Obsession and Must, scarcely any vanilla. Consequently, Moschino seems even less femme than they.

Galbanum is the showstopper here, so if galbanum is your love, look no further - male or female! Marigold and Carnations, rounded out by ambery warmth and a hint of spice. The freesia I neither smell nor react to, as is usual for me, so it must be present in a smidgin, not a pinch. The overall impression is green and warm and grounded. Entirely well blended and excellent. Five stars.

Eva Behari

It blends so beautiful with the warmth of my skin! Love this perfume! This is Sophia Loren in a fur coat and high heels.. Gorgeous!

LSAUG

Moschino reminds me of Jovan Sex Appeal for men. I remember smelling that a lot back in the 80's. This is a nice perfume but leans masculine, at least to me. Very heavy w/ nutmeg and carnation. The musk in here is very masculine smelling. I do not get the comparisons of this to many of the other feminine perfumes that I have smelled above. Yes, they are floral somewhat spicy and powdery, but this is so much more masculine than Patou's Sublime, Dana's Tabu, La Lettra and even Obsession for women. And I think a man can also pull off Obsession for Women, my husband wears it. Moschino gives me a heavy carnation, heavy nutmeg and a very masculine musk w/ this one. It gets sweeter and a little powdery as it goes a long, but I still find that it leans masculine. I would rather smell this fresh spicy, aromatic, sweet, floral that has quite a lot of zest in my opinion on my husband instead of me. But it is a very good perfume. I wish men would wear this instead of the aquatic and aromatic bombs that flood the market for men today. Very dapper.

Edit: 10/13/22 My husband thinks this is too powdery for him and does not like it at all, so I will be wearing the sample I was given. I do like it quite a lot even though it does is very unisex for me anyway. Considering how inexpensive this is I should just pick up a bottle anyway. I do enjoy it. I really like carnation and so many carnation fragrances today are so expensive and hard to find since it isn't a note that is used as often nowadays.

Erkangel44

Moschino by Moschino is beautiful! I purchased a 45ml recent formulation 2-3 days ago and I am so happy with my blind buy.
Opens up quite herbal, green and floral like in a really pleasant good way, then dries down to a powdery woody floral musk.
It's fresh and warm, its sensual and soft yet fizzy and fiesty all at the same time.

Some people say it smells grandmarish but to me it smells 90's retro cool chick and can be worn successfully today.

Totally an underrated gem.

Yes Malena

The sandalwood in this is divine. It truly smells as I remember actual Mysore sandalwood incense smelling. Thank you, Franco Moschino!

Kharmynn

I can see the similarities to Obsession that previous reviewers have stated, especially in the dry down.
Similar but not the same.
I think Moschino is much more feminine, more sweeter florals, and a lot less dry. I greatly prefer the Moschino, and can see myself wearing this a lot more often than I do the Obsession.

jedrzejowskia

Ugh this is so amazing on a cold rainy day... it's dry and warm, exactly the counterpoint on days like this.
The galbanum gives it the dry warmness, nutmeg creates a dry aromatic almost sweet but not quite, comforting aura which all is rounded off by amazing Amber. The Sandalwood here an almost vanillary desert dryness, dry hot air-like...
My other favourite sandalwood is in Venice by Yves Rocher, they share similar qualities but Venice is sweeter, rounder, deeper and shyer. Moschino is drier, spicier and a bit more "look at me".
Masterpiece for small money. A love.

Anamandy

This is such a great fragrance for cold weather wear. If you like spicy Orientals, this is a must try because it is hands down one of the best iterations of the genre. Spicy, bitter, sweet, resinous, dry, floral, herbal, woody, and warm. It has it all and is all wonderfully done. The performance is beast mode in the best sense. One spray is all you need with this baby to be wrapped all day in its lovely embrace. While I agree that it shares a strong similarity with Obsession, especially vintage Obsession, the vanilla is much more toned down and the scent overall is drier and not as sweet. For me I think it is different enough from Obsession where it is worth having both. While I know what I purchased 2 years ago is not the original formula, I don't feel I am missing anything because it smells great to me as is. Best yet, despite the price doubling since that time, it is still very reasonably priced today. I think if you like this type of perfume, it would be a safe blind buy. I'm sure you would get as much enjoyment from this wonderful scent as I do.

SmellsLikeMoneyWellSpent

Absolute classic, ultimate perfumey perfume with an affordable price tag and pretty bottle design. Big love <3

DLF

I purchased this because I love Obsession, and read that they were similar. I definitely get the similarities, but this is louder, and more potent. Obsession is unisex, where this leans more feminine. Not just feminine, but more of an old lady scent. I’m thinking I might layer this so something vanilla heavy.

I wonder how much this smells like Habit Rouge. The notes look familiar.

Elsee

This is a conundrum!!! Obsession vs. Moschino?! I love them both but for different reasons. Obsession brings back memories and reminds me of people I love. Moschino is new to my collection since those memories but it's damn good and very similar! :) I would put them both at the same level of gorgeousness. You can't go wrong with either one.

My advice is to get one of each before they are gone!!!

Happy Halloween everyone! Boo haha.

massimilianoinquieto

Due to the raving reviews and its cheap price on Notino I gave Moschino a (blind) go. Am quite torn - I both like and dislike it at the same time. My partner immediately said I smelled like his grandma. Even though she might have been an elegant classy lady, I do not prefer to smell so eh... mature. Also his vivid memory of his grandma eliminates it from being used as a bedtime scent for me 😂 That being said, to me it also smells kind of "vintage". Heavy, herbal, amber and wood. The first spray burns my nose-hair away, but once the powder kicks in, I quite enjoy it. Not sure it is for me though - feel I'm still a bit too young to pull this off (am in my mid-30's). And honestly I wouldn't wear it to the office, to the supermarket, on a night out or to any other occasion other than my 70st birthday. It's a good quality perfume, but I'm afraid I'll stick to the feeling-clean-just-took-a-shower-rooky-perfumes that I have in my perfume closet!

Yes Malena

I get basil with this in the opening. Is that the way the marigold interacts initially?

Maybe it's the galbanum which reminds people of Must de Cartier, but Moschino is sweeter. I find it more accommodating. Must is swoon-inducing, but Moschino ultimately has more to say. Or I can just hear it more easily, without aldehydes. It is confident, easygoing, maybe not as emotional as Must?

In any case, they are obviously both special perfumes. Love them both! Moschino could be more soulful, Must de Cartier 1981 could be more magnificent.

Edit: a week or so later. I'm wearing Moschino again today. At the opening, it's the Galbanum coming forward, what I was smelling as a basil-like note last time. Also at the opening I'm already smelling some patchouli, along with, yes, a swoon-inducing powdery sweetness of amber. I get the plum. The opening is mind-and-space altering, giving my imagination so much to work with. I am transported as a character in a story---having a perfume-induced Walter Mitty moment! I love it.
Later I start to get the spicier woodier notes, and something very close to the skin also gives a sour pickle note, or at times even ketchupy. LOL. Oddly, I only get Rose and Ylang on paper, not on skin. I do pick out a sandalwood. On me this is starting to dry down already after two hours.
The opening is so enjoyable and lovely to me, and I am still working out what goes on after that. The sour note is interesting; not sure yet what to make of that. Overall, I love Moschino and am so pleased to have it.

Janulka098

This is perfume perfume perfume... classic. Only one - two sprays needed. Powerhouse. Vintage vibe, warm and comforting a big love! This is how sexy classy woman smells like. Chanel 5 x obsession perfume vibe - perfume perfume, like perfumes used to be like. :) very nice ! Hugs in bottle with gorgeous amber dry down. This is how my mums clothes smelled like - nostalgia in bottle. Little me opened mums wardrobe and all clothes smelled like this, sweaters and dresses - staying power is forever :-) brings back wonderful memories :)

Amandini

I loved the look of the bottle, from my home in Italy.
Fabulous heavy cylinder bottle the gold pearl cap the tricolor bow, whats not to love?
Im a bit of an 80s 90s early 2000s collector. They dont make perfumes like this anymore!

jaguarundina

MOSCHINO was, and is, a fabulous perfume. how good do I remember his advertisements for his faux-chanel nevertheless high quality fashions. it was so over the top I guess Karl didn't take offence. I always paired these perfumes: MOSCHINO and Christian Lacroix's 'C'est la Vie', together (not in wearing but in concept). they were different yet in exclusivity and particularity, comparable. I must say I had from Lacroix's perfume, also the actual perfume; from MOSCHINO parfum de toilette. the 'now edt' is also good. but of course I wish they were still with us, and for the person MOSCHINO, him alive. he was full of wit and I think Jeremy Scott is a good follow-up to the designer himself. the perfume is exemplary because it is a flowerbomb yet with the pepper and nutmeg (prominently) it gave a twang which enhanced the perfume totally. something similar happened with Christian Lacroix's C'est la Vie. my mom was also crazy for MOSCHINO. then the letterings, gold cap, the Italian coloured bows. wonderful. and they were 80s powerhouses. all what always allured me to the hilt. this is just a stayer and that isn't for nothing. it is also a highly pleasurable perfume !

CdeBXL

If CK Obsession and Cartier Must had an unprotected one night stand, this is what the offspring would be.
Spices and woods and resins, galbanum (yes!) and carnations, a touch of vanilla in the amber.

A powerhouse, obviously, and in ranking under Must but above Obsession.

If you like these scents, don't mind the 80s vibe of heavy spice concoctions, and aren't bothered to leave an impression in your wake, this brew belongs in your wardrobe.

AntonioM

I absolutely love this scent. I blind bought it after seeing Super Dacob's review on youtube.
Can honestly say it was love at first spray, so fresh, so optimistic and romantic. The flowers, the spices, the warmth and those whiffs of powdery nostalgia it emotes. It makes my day everyday. This is one I will purchase time and time again.

ClassicsLover

This is in-between Obsession and Krazy Krizia to me, though less spicy than Obsession and less herbal than Krizia. It also reminds me of Safari, the way the bitter of the galbanum interplays with the sweetness of the other notes. This is a very rich and dense scent. Visualizing I imagine thick, rich, mahogany, glistening, resinous syrup. I adore the spices, and even though it is not listed, think there is a little cinnamon in it too. The carnation also adds a nice bit of spiciness also. The drydown is so nice. Slightly sweet with the patchouli giving a dry herbal edge. Really different take on a spicy oriental that I happen to like a lot more than Krizia, but less than Obsession, which I consider my ultimate spicy Oriental. Guys, try this. I think this will work as well for you as it does for us girls.

dunder988

A favourite of mine in my collection. This begins with this strong peppery, warm spicy and balsamic and then this settles to something sweet. I smell no flower though which is unfortunate, however, I smell something very minty in the opening. Nonetheless, I really like it

edit: I now hate it....

mtmer

A woman, a soft sweater, some chilly weather...one spray of Moschino and life becomes so warm, so fast. Love it.

Agnesca

I totally see the comparisons with Obsession, they have a similar vibe enough to make someone thinking wether (s)he needs both or not. However, I personally prefer Obsession because I find it lighter (yes, I wrote that, while I 'm talking about the most recent formula) and Moschino tends to have spices and other notes that are too sticky and almost nauseaus on my skin. This doesn't make this beautiful scent any worse, I love it on others and had it for a long time.

bug.juice.184

Real perfume, in between of Chanel No 5 and Obsession, and yet very original, a entity for itself. When weather is cold, it's misterious and seductive, indulgent, luxurious. It's smells like a skin of a woman raised by nuns, that goes deeply and sophisticatedly decadent as grown up.

zimatar

Scored a 30th Anniversary Special Edition bottle today, showered, and gave it a full wear in the evening. I was so pleased it had the DNA of Belle en Rykiel which I've missed so much! It must be its Italian roots? Glad it deviated from CK Obsession, as the poll claims. I love its powdery dry down on my usually acidic skin.

Elsee

to smellsbells - Yes, there is a lot of similarity to Tabu and Ciara. A tad sweeter than Ciara and a bit deeper than Tabu but along the same lines. Lasts longer and it's my fav of the 3.

Happy sniffing!

gtabasso

carnation, sandalwood, musk, nutmeg, cinnamon, galbanum, amber; yes, it is a lot like Krizia and reminds of Obsession though not quite as potent, a sister or cousin; just lovely for the price, a must-have for the oriental carnation lover

VolDeMinuit

Shalimar à l'italienne! With a ton of castoreum, patchouli, and oakmoss in it... Ahhh... Heaven. It smells like the parfums de fourrure that Weil or Revillon offered eons ago, but Moschino is far more aesthetically satisfying. :)

Tasali

I recently got a vintage bottle of this and wow!!
It is shockingly strong and potent. It screams out loud with a really nice sandalwood incense the first 10-15 minutes before it softens a bit and the amber peaks out. It gets soft spicy after an hour or so and reminds me a little of Beyoncé heat seduction (I guess she tried to copy this)
This is a little powdery and classic- but not a soapy or dated scent by any means, at least not the old formula. I am really impressed.

MaudeScent

This fragrance is one of those powerhouse eighties scents. Lasts hours and hours and surrounds you without running ahead of you. Very sophisticated and not at all cloying.

I don’t know why I didn’t discover this one back in the nineties when my life was all about smelling great and fill the space around me.

I get tons of compliments with this one. People keep asking me: What is that? When you walk by I smell incent and something sweet.

I always go with eighties and nineties scents, with Teint de neige and Lira being the only exceptions.

By the way, the only reason I bought it was because of the Italian look.

vrosej10

This scent is as close to collage as I have ever encountered in perfumery. The opening accord is pure CK Obsession minus the migraine induction for me. The mid note are almost identical to the mid section of Bal A Versailles edt and the dry down is close to Cacharel Loulou. To some degree it's like a best of 80s orientals. It's more wearable and not as much of a beast as a most from that era. Decent longevity. The projection is initially what you'd expect from the era but diminishes to a more tolerable level quickly. I can see myself wearing this a lot.

Shwets

A warm cosy toned down Obsession without all the vanilla and extra spices.

Reminds me of a softer Les Nereides Opoponax but much better.

Longevity is excellent and sillage is very good and lingers several hours later.

In fact in the dry down i can smell a cross between youth dew and obsession without the vanilla sweetness and spices minimised. Absolutely gorgeous!

This must be the recent formulation as i couldn't wear the older one.

Update: Must be a reformulation as def no headaches after trying a few. The box is also different and more golden looking overall.

Im also picking up on EA's white diamonds vibe in this, esp the incense note. I'd say Moschino is a cross between this and a sugar free Obsession on me.

The older version was more potent with its aldehydes and vintage smelling. I liked that one but prefer the reformulation for its wearability and appears to smell modernised but retaining the original vibe.

11PHOSPHORUS11

I can easily see an Italian classy woman, passing by Florence's renaissance buildings through a humid summery air smelling like this in late 80's.

I'd fall in love with her.

This is a great balance of flowers and spices with green accords to start with and a traditional recipe at its base for a good longevity.

Not fresh, but not heavy. For a blind buy I'm a winner.

A must-have! #MASTERPIECE

Beautifully presented which is really important to me as well.

I love this scent. It reminds me of a woman who dines well and sleeps in silk night gowns. Champagne or dry martinis are her drinks of choice and she only wears gold jewelry. She’s the woman I aspire to be when I’m 50, but I’m not afraid to show hints of her now by wearing this perfume. The hint of pepper, the spice, the vanilla? I’m here for it all!

Phantomias

Warm and spicy, Moschino is lovely. Good sillage, good lasting power, too. I understand the comparison to Obsession, but Moschino is the better scent imho. There's nothing to improve here, M. is good from top to bottom note.

This scent would work well on men, too.

delightme5

This is A PERFUME - in the true sense of the word to me.
Its everything really: musky, airy, green, yellow, herbal, sweet (but not in the caramel, candy, creme brulee or the like kinda way)-you should know what i mean ! Its alluring and floaty too - sometimes a bit chanel 5 ish-depending i think on body product use.
For me,it would only work at night. Unthinkable for day.

In the 90s i remember 4 girls coming from their rooms into the concierge foyer - they filled the air. I asked what have you got on ? " We've got Moschino " they replied. I had to ask !..the smell was beautiful, magical spellbinding (not like a viva la juicy, couture thing if you get where im at) ready for a night out full of fun and promise..

I gifted to a euro male friend (dark hair fair skin) he would douse himself and it was amazing - sweet clean and green. Unlike some of the stagnant pool chemical cleaner smells of the past and current being done. The flowers all meld in undetectably into the potion - its neutral gender specific.
Moschino has a happy positive attitude.

I avoided testing this one for several years... but when a slightly-used, Moschino gift-set of various parfums popped up on my radar for a decent price recently, I bit. And now I'm biting. This is a fantastic fragrance for lovers of spicy or spicy-woody orientals and yes, immediately both of the Obsessions as well as Must de Cartier came to mind--they are all cut from a similar cloth--yet there is a distinct, lyrical beauty in Moschino, evident more in the headspace than when sniffed directly against the skin. So enchanting. Rose, cloves, and cinnamon... There is also an element, an accord that reminds me of White Diamonds in the EDP or extrait form (not so much the EDT). The combo of marigold, tuberose, and ylang-ylang intertwined with the bitter galbanum. It's addictive, and the perfect foil against the sweet, vanilla-amber.

I am so glad I own this gem. It is lovely and a nice fragrance to own. I love spicy scents and also own Obsession, Krazy and Must we Cartier, now I am all set for the Winter.

For a long time, this was pretty rare. Looks re-released (and widely available on ebay for less than $20 for a 2.5 oz. tester) and prob reforumulated.

I was given a sample in a swap, but I was afraid to try it. If I loved it, I knew I would do anything to own a bottle, even if it's rare/expensive.
So imagine my surprise when I scooped up a $16 bottle from Fragrancenet! It's not here yet, but I finally tried my sample.

LOVE! OMG! The first minutes are my fave, and sadly they don't last long. It's like Safari meets Must (galbanium) meets Tabu!! I get some soap too (like Youth Dew). Then upon drydown it's very much like Obsession, but also masculine.

Two small squirts on the inside of my arm lasted ALL night (unheard of with my skin) but by morning I had a very spicy patchouli only.

I don't know if my sample is the reform or original, but I'm certainly excited to get my full bottle! Too bad Frag-net's shipping is soooo slow.

Overall, a very spicy incense/amber/woods. Not as sweet as Youth Dew, Opium, Tabu, etc... I think the galbanium (my fave!) whispers all thru-out the longevity, but those first few minutes are sublime! I'm thinking/hoping-- the opening will hang around more on clothing.

I think if you like Must, Obsession, etc... you will like this, but they are def not dupes. I have not smelled the male Obsession, but the drydown of Moschino is a masculine (spicier/woodier/darker) Obsession.

Gumbinator

My Mum wears this one. This particular scent has been wafting around my household for years. Growing up this is pretty much what has always reminded me of her. Looking at the bottle now and being able to put a name to the scent, is wonderful. Let alone analyze the notes, I can actually breakdown the scent and slighly get a lot of the notes listed. It's a fantastic women's fragrance. It's long lasting, and just wonderful.

drugstore classics

I am looking for a bottle of Moschino, if anyone in the US would care to arrange a swap with me. Partial bottles or testers are just fine. :)

Vintage style fragrance in the same vein as Must de Cartier... a LOT of Galbanum!

This fragrance can easily come across as masculine, yes. To me that's because of the almost pine like and earthy/mossy aspect of Galbanum coupled with the sharpness of carnation and geranium, All of these are very old fashioned or very classic notes, depending on your point of view!

If you love vintage Must de Cartier as I do, you might also wish to try Moschino. They're like cousins, recognizably in the same style, and totally unlike anything released recently.

Sabretoothkitten

I just got a sample! It's very unique so far, very bouquet and fresh spicy. Very retro. I'm testing it on my skin tomorrow, will edit. Like so far :)
It reminds me of something can't figure it out yet.

After all these years..I received this today. After I ignored Obsession-type scents back in the 80's,I ignored this gem also. At first spritz....it comes off as not like Obsession..at all....a few minutes later the top disappates...and the likeness is apparent...but not quite...Moschino is ,for lack of a better word..."fresher" than Obsession.I also feel the carnation/marigold in Moschino is upfront sheilding us from the depth of spiciness in that Obsesssion has.Moschino smooths down the rougher edges...probably thru the floral aspects and it's addition of carnation/ylang/plum/other florals where Obsession does not have all of these. Obsession also adds incense/animalic to the mix...causing a little bitter twinge, where as Moschino's mix smooths thing out.I would say..Moschino, Obsession and Krazy Krizia share similarities/same family...but each differ in obvious ways. This is a great scent, and it is not expensive, so I think it is worth a buy. Glad to own this, and glad I am discovering scents I passed by in the past.

Edit: This is another scent that changes as it is on your skin...goes thru the phases...ect... In the drydown I am getting a lot of the marigold....mmmmm...! Also, forgot to mention that you can put Must de Cartier in the same family as Moschino and Obsession, Krazy. Here is how I would "rank" the 4:
1.Must
2.Moschino
3.Obsession
4.Krazy

smellslovely

I was introduced to this perfume just this week by a fellow perfume fanatic, my lovely sister. I had to buy it... I was asked as I left the gym tonight " what is your lovely perfume ?" The PT thought it was Obsession. I see the similarities , both 80's throwback perfumes... I am loving it

Fragrance Review For Moschino

Moschino

Top Notes

Galbanum Marigold Freesia Honeysuckle Plum

Middle Notes

Nutmeg Carnation Gardenia Pepper Ylang Ylang Rose

Base Notes

Amber Musk Vanilla Sandalwood Patchouli

Moschino's most mature fragrance!

What is this incredible aroma of green galbanum, white florals, sweet notes and sour notes, spices, patchouli, amber, sandalwood and musk. Though the notes are not abundant or the scents too complex, it's a fragrance that takes it's own place in the power perfume cabinet of the 80's. This is a fabulous green chypre Oriental floral, with a lot going on than meets the notes. Moschino is to my own knowledge one of the most mature fragrances from their line in that it evokes or tries to evoke a much older classic vintage fragrance something like Fracas Chamade or Shalimar. When I say this of course I don't mean that it smells like those fragrances because it doesn't. Moschino like the fashion house is it's own individualistic unique creative scent. It is beautiful and green, not overblown as a chypre nor Oriental but a neutral perfume with neutral colors of light moss and beige. This is not as atomic as other 80's power fragrances or Orientals like Coco Eau de Parfum or Fendi. This is a very elegant and conservative fragrance. The bottle is shaped like a vintage wine bottle with Italian flag color themed ribbon. I love the bottle! The scent from within is also at it's most Italianate. Smells like an autumn in Tuscany or the forest in Brescia. It's vegetal, spicy, floral, and musky, so it graphically transports you to a villa or park in the green woodsy geography of northern Italy. I see flowers, green vegetation, cypress trees, and deer frolicking to and fro. And not a hunter with a gun in sight. Wild nature free and beautiful.

The first spritz is interesting. I get sweet plum and honeysuckle very sweet and like fruit mixed with honey. The wine scent is also there. I don't know where I'm getting that wine note or booze. There's a green galbanum note which I adore because it's a note that is no longer with us and always makes a fragrance smell incredible. Green, herbal, aromatic and glorious. The dusk is settling and I smell a spicy floral little garden. The heart opens up quickly revealing rather mature and womanly florals. This is a big gardenia almost at the same level of the gardenias of Coco Chanel's fragrances i.e. Gardenia or the white florals in Fracas by Robert Piguet. Other florals emerge. A single rose and carnation with more carnation than rose aroma. The carnation is green and very shrubby with white flowers not red flowers. The white carnation is a corsage, as if a champagne bottle was sitting next to a corsage of white carnations or gardenia floral arrangements in a basket catching sunset's waning light in the open air in a villa.

As Moschino dries, the scent is turning Oriental with some nodes to Shalimar. Patchouli is doing it's thing: herbal, green, bushy, aromatic and smoky, a touch of incense. There's sandalwood, inky, woodsy, beautifully woodsy with a fragrant headiness that make me want to lose myself in the aroma and faint from the smell. If this were powerful enough to take me to the places it takes me to in my imagination. This smells like a garden in a palace of a 19th century monarch of Italy - Vittorio Emmanuel and the garden is serene and seductive. The king has brought his mistress to the garden where, away from prying eyes, and having nothing to do with mundane politics, the king can be himself and love his lover. The amber note is fantastic. It's not a big amber but it's essentially the same amber in Shalimar along with the patchouli. Oily, gooey, smoky and dark, with woodsy tones. The sandalwood is the best part in the dry down. I will add that in the dry down the fragrance, like Shalimar, or Emeraude, can be unisex so men can wear this without fear. This is a very masculine cologne because it dries to dark amber and a lot of musk. The musk is at the very last part of the performance of the fragrance and smells exactly like the musky colognes some guys are used to. The first part of the fragrance with it's gardenia is gone and all that is left is the green galbanum with green patchouli and dark musk. Finally a vanilla is there to keep it a tad sweet and creamy but still dark and smoky.

I find this fragrance to be formal, autumnal, wintery, and very long lasting, so long lasting that it's shocking when compared to the fragrances issued today. This is an eau de toilette and still it acts like a real strong perfume or eau de parfum. This is unisex and matches up with suits, coats, and formal evening wear. I will wear this tonight at a Milan Fashion Show after party. If you like your green florals and chypres Orientals woodsy musks a la Shalimar Emeraude or even Fendi by Fendi you will love Moschino. A more pleasurable green galbanum and musk as can ever have been conceived by a great Italian fashion house.

Thank You Moschino.

candymarie

LOL! Moschino smells absolutely nothing like Obsession! They're almost completely opposite on the perfume wheel!

Toronto_pro

I have to say this again: we all have different types of skin chemistry and my skin "eats" all the subtle (delicate floral-powdery) scents right away. Having said that - this Moschino was a hit and a love at first "smell" for me.

All the flowers evaporated pretty fast (as usual, on my skin) and coriander+carnations+spices lasted good 24 hrs.

It is sharp, I have to admit. Definitely not suitable for job interviews as this is a non-compromising, "love OR hate" type of perfume, but never both.

Very spicy. Love it.

Duskfall

I received a bottle of Moschino and sprayed it on, feeling pretty confident it was going to be a hit. Everything seemed to be going smoothly... until the soapiness kicked in. If there's any "soap" in a fragrance, it's going to be amplified into ridiculous proportions on my skin! Surely, it took over and made the scent totally unbalanced. The green notes and sweet vanilla combined with the monstrous soap and some dirt from patchouli and musk formed a combination that is intolerable to my nose. In addition to that, Moschino is super strong so there's no easy way out. Let me tell you, this EdT blows many modern EdPs out of the water!

I tried it a couple of times, promptly scrubbed it off and quickly came into the conclusion that this one is obviously not for me. I just need to get it into my head that it's better for me to steer clear if soapiness is mentioned even once in the context of a fragrance. However, I can't actually dislike Moschino because our disastrous encounter is most likely a matter of skin chemistry. The high quality is apparent and I'm sure it has the potential of being a great scent for people with a matching chemistry. By the way, it does resemble Obsession a bit, but Moschino is more green and refined (and soapy). I prefer Obsession.

I've had my genuine tester 75ml edt for a while now. I've worn it only on several occasions to work over consecutive days. Been told it smells nice but that l need to tone it down. I think I got used to the scent so much I didn't smell it anymore so I sprayed more on to compensate.

The bottle states: the same perfume pyramid as above; is made in Italy; and belongs to the oriental/vanilla /amber olfactive family.

My impression of the fragrance is basically the same. The initial carbonated lift... The fizzy, warm, green galbanum rush is incredible. It's no surprise that the bottle is designed intentionally to resemble Italian table wine. I marvel how the perfume remains perfectly bubbly throughout that experience. Thanks to the magic of aldehydes. In fact the stubby bottle and the deep, earthy, sweet, aromatic concoction strongly reminds me of authentic root beer that's just been opened.

There is indeed a lot vanilla in here. When the beautiful rosy green floral heart appears, it sort of smells like a plush layer of baby powder. I want to add that this isn't an anemic bouquet that I encounter increasingly with more prestigious perfume houses when it comes to edt concentrations. There's life and body to the flowers yet.

The perfume for the most part, though rich, is never heavy and maintains a fresh brightness to it. I think it's because tart, juicy fruits. Without the fruit, the base and heart resembles traditional Indian incense notes (ie: my precious Super Hit Nag Champa or Patchouli Forest). And a sandal wood soap.

Unlike Angel, I find the fragrance on the whole, delectably edible (or rather, drinkable). It begs someone to lean in and drink it all in. In a friendly way, of course! At the tail end, it's very comforting, warm, very sweet, woody, cozy, musky, cottony smooth and powdery soft.

It's a very well executed perfume with a neat concept behind it. It's off kilter and unconventionally pretty in its own way. She's a classy dame that can be worn year round.

Looks like I'm postponing any thoughts of Chanel Coco or more Allure Sensuelle. I have barely made a dent on this. I'm going to wear it more often.

Edit:
I wore this recently to an early Xmas party in a lime green dress. I also put on a little bit of Tresor scented lotion as well as a richer fruity-vanilla one from Bath and Body Works. Then I sprayed this eau over top. The result is a richer floriental smell as opposed to fresh spicy. I was told I smelled "beautiful". The fruity plum, spices, musk and vanilla became really pronounced. It smelled delectable. Gourmand, even!!! Crazy, huh? I've always been an Oriental girl.

theodeled

I always wanted to try this and I was sure it was discontinued until i found it online.
It's a perfect Moschino GEM and I could easily place it in the top balsamic and spicy perfumes, even close to the mythical Shalimar by Guerlain or Jungle L' Elephant by Kenzo!
I feel the warm and the soft spicies, the yellow flowers, the balsamic and even amber, but now exactly the "usual" amber, it's mostly a light wooden version of it.
I wore this perfume yesterday for the first time and I received a compliment by a stranger. It's a success!

Planet_X

An unexpected and kind gift from indigo!
Being in love with all sorts of heavy orientals, I surprised how much different Moschino in its orientalism is. It is green oriental, very aromatic and it is the closest smell to Christmas-time in my childhood associations, when all Christmas trees were straight from the forest and their aromas were filling everyone's house, mixed with wonderful baking aromas. For some reason for realistic Christmas trees I was looking among pine-cedar fragrances, but amazingly enough - have found it among carnation and galbanum with amber combination in this champagne-like looking bottle, the miracles of perfumery and human's imagination indeed! So in few words it is aromatic-green-woody oriental, that able to move your heart and take you into a memory lane. Recommend to those who love Dune Dior, Krazy Krizia and Must Cartier.

boheme_maras

Oh my God what a scent!
To be honest that was a blind buy and I was worried enough about what I was gonna smell but the surprise came after the first squirt on my wrist!
This perfume it's so unique and elegant sexy and 80s monster!
It lasts for ever and it's stunning!
So sad it's discontinued and so happy I find a big bottle!
There are enough similarities with the cozé one from parfumerie generale!!!

Walking Unicorn

I bought a bottle of Moschino at an estate sale not knowing what to expect, and it ended up being a winner. It's a spicy, peppery, warm and sensational perfume with wood, amber, nutmeg and flowers. It's bold, confident and beautiful in the same manner as Krazy Krizia, but it's more floral. I've only worn this once and I'm already in love.

flowers-in-the-springtime

I have the vintage version of this magnificent beauty and its stunning!
Moschino is a 'big' perfume which has a Woody, sweet, floral aroma and lasts forever. In fact I would say that one tiny spritz is enough to surround yourself with the most heavenly perfume all day long.
This is a woman's' perfume, it's not for the girls. Moschino is an 80's and 90's powerful, statement perfume along the lines of EL Spellbound, Ungaro Diva, RL Safari. I adore it!
It will leave a trail of loveliness behind you and fill a room, so beware!

Lipglossjunkee

I do get a bit of the comparisons to Obsession, but as I prefer Obsession for men over the women's version, I don't get it as much as other's might. This one is a throwback--as mentioned, a gorgeous 70's-80's smelling 'fume. NOT an old lady perfume, a beautiful melding of the galbanum (very very prominent here, which I love), amber, carnation, musk, vanilla, marigold (I love when this one shows up in my scents, very unique note!), and a hint of patchouli married with the nutmeg for some spice. Penny Urn'd mentioned below the comparison to Passion for Men? Yep, I feel it---but yet, this one is far from masculine. It's feminine, but from a time period when feminine meant resinous, slightly green galbanum (the kind that makes your mouth water a bit when you smell it--just a bit bitter, and that's a good thing), spicy carnation, a hint of soapy, and a lot of personality.

If you like vintage scents, or vintage SMELLING scents, this one is a must have. It brings to mind the feel I get from vintage Timeless, and vintage Miss Dior. Love it.

Gingersnapps1

Warm, sexy and sweet. Can be overpowering if not used sparingly, Love the musky vanilla sweetness trail it leaves behind me as I leave a room....

Edee

Though I've never tried Calvin Klein Obsession, I absolutely swoon when I smell this, I just inhale deeply and exhale slowly to prolong the aroma in my nose. This is not only woody, aromatic and spicy, but a fresh spicy scent that always lifts and soothes the spirit at the same time. I think what sets this apart from Obsession is the addition of the nutmeg.
Sometimes you want an enticing aroma that is not so much seductive but feels like a warm embracing hug at times. I am not saying obsession is bad. Like I said I have never smelled it except in passing. I really enjoy wearing this. Especially enjoyable when out to dinner on a cool fall evening. The fragrance leaves a trail and you get compliments galore. It might smell like obsession, but it is her younger fresher sister who doesn't have to put on makeup or high heels and a seductive dress to have men want to be around her.
She is not out to seduce. She is simply naturally appealing.

Likute

Nothing to compare with CK Obsession. This is a bit old school'ish. A little bit to strong for me. I guess it's carnation that makes it sharp. But it's a good, strong and feminine scent.
UPDATE: the more I wear it, the more I like it. It's so flowery feminine scent. It makes me feel confident :)

Zerrax

unfortunately recently this nice fragance has been reformulated!
recently I bought a new bottle that was produced in 2014 and it didn't smelled anything than the orgininal fragance.
The nice spicy opening is gone, the new reformulated fragance smells synthetic and boring
there is no evolvement anymore...

So be warned if you like this fragance, the new version is a complettly different smel!
The barcode on my bottle said production date 2014, but I don't know when the reformulation has started, maybe even earlier.

Very pitty, because I liked the original smell very much.....

bramebelle

I can't help it - I hate the bottle, I hate the era, I hate the very idea that this could be my perfume - but I simply LOVE the juice.

This is the perfume I chose when I was 21 and decided it was time to find my signature. I wore it for years: lovers and friends thought of me when they smelt it, I got complimented on the streets by strangers, and then it stopped being available on shelves and I gave up and decided I'd find a new signature in my 30s. But after much searching I ended up right back here. Discovering it's continued availability online I now have it again, and again I am wearing it everyday.

To me it is warm, overtly sexy, and just sweet enough to be pleasant to my nose - which admittedly almost exclusively favours oriental scents. The musk is the most important note to me; I couldn't possibly have a signature that lacked it. The longevity is pretty good for an EDT and the sillage AMAZING. I like my perfume to quietly but very definitely announce "this woman is deeply sensual!", and I find this one does exactly that. :)

Mari_on_net_te

It was a blind buy, since I like so many of the Moschino perfumes (Couture being my favourite).
Sadly, it was a disappointing experience.

For me it was a bit like an "old lady" fragrance, not spicy at all; a bit stale too. Maybe there was something wrong with my purchase, but it was an overpowering smell of heavy flowers, with a very sharp opening. Really strong 80's vibe (and it definitely suggested that the content of this particular bottle was 30 years old :/ )

Ater drying down it got rounder and a bit more gentle, just like my mom's perfumes when I was little, so I have decided to give it to her, see if this grows on her more nicely.

Ladylike, but not feminine (in my preferred understanding of the term :P ). Perfumes for a strong bussiness woman.

Edit: I know now what it reminded me of. "Sun" by Jill Sanders. Also not my favourite, very balsamic and herbal.
I read "spicy" in the description and I expect something more defined, with an exotic edge. None of that here.

desdal

I purchased this because I used to wear it all the time and loved it. Now it just doesn’t work so my bottle sits (minus a couple of spritzes) unused. Would be up for a trade if anyone is interested!

Kattmatte

It's warm, it's sweet and it's nothing like Shalimar.
Some here say so but that is to diminish this beautiful scent. Moschino is great all by itself, not a copy or even pastiche of a classic.
I agree that this is an eighties perfume. But there must be a place for it today. It is a true classic on it's own merits. And a very pleasant one.

marios4

Every fan of Moschino Moschino can find it at the Dutyfree at Fiumicino Airport, in Rome; the price is fantastic, € 19,00 for the 50 ml. size.
I'll update soon this rewiev: could be a good unisex, and the opening is simply gorgeous......

mooglebuns

This one is big. It screams "it's the 80s again! Break out your leg warmers and crimp your hair!".

It's spicy and thick with a bit of powder underneath. I also smell soil. Clean damp soil.

This perfume is unlike anything else in my collection. It brings me back to smelling my mother when she was getting ready to go out when I was a child. She loved big powerhouse scents.

It's interesting and I don't dislike it, but it's not something I find myself wearing because I feel like I'm small again and sneaking into my parents bedroom to steal a splash of moms perfume. I feel like an imposter.

If you miss those statement makers from thirty years ago, this is one you should definitely give a try. For me, I'll just keep it around for when I'm missing my mother and I want some comfort of "her smell".

therealpaloma54

I'm not a fan in general of Oriental perfumes, but this one has a greenish top, and is smooth like silk. Whenever I wear this, people compliment me. Love love love it! If you normally like chypres, but don't think you care much for the heavy vanillic Orientals, you might want to give this a try, assuming you can still find it.

wendyyparty

One of the hidden and underrated gem. I grow to love it more every time I wear it.

Moschino is something I wear only just to please myself. Like a lover's embrace; the soothing, comforting scent keeps me warm, wipe out all the stress, frustrations and worries. You know what kind of effect "that" works on a girl? She'd get good sleeps and...sometimes aroused.

Old lady? Just wait until the dry down and you'll see...

For me, this is the sexiest bergamot aroma. It beats Obsession and Krazy out its way in term of sexiness.

lizziekayy

Well, this one is certainly different! The first time I tried Moschino EDT I got a blast of something kinda herbal. And then nothing much. So I sprayed again and this time I can discern nutmeg and a rather bitter floral.? Marigold. And then rather than dry down it warms up and up and everyone commenting on it cos it got so strong. Still I cannot find most of the listed notes. It is almost masculine in a bit of an incense hippy way. Weird.
We really aren't in Kansas anymore....after TWELVE hours this fume finally shows its softer side with sweet florals and a bit sandalwood. How do they do that?

Mary-Jayne

Just discovered this scent recently, today is the 3rd time I have properly worn it after several samples and I really wanted to write a review because this stuff is amazing and I love it!
I actually decided to try it because of the comparisons to Obsession which I love, and I do see the similarities to begin with, but really they are only similar, to my nose, in the opening.

This does start out very similar to obsession. The first blast of this out of the bottle really is a blast - this is potent, one spray perfume, you do not need to go overboard or over spray this one! After a few seconds you smell the resemblance to the start of obsession, that strong, leathery, warm, resinous rich smell, like a smooth shiny conker. But within 30 minutes these are clearly different beasts.

After about 30 mins this suddenly softens considerably becoming a lot more typically "feminine". Musks, florals and warm powdery notes start to develop and this scent grows and grows as it warms on the skin. There is still the rich warm spicy soft strength that is shared in Obsession, yet it is different.
About an hour in this smells to me a little like a cross between Obsession and L'heure bleue! It is amazing.

This perfume truly is a shape shifter. After a couple of hours I get a scent I associate with incense, that deep, rich, resinous warm, softly spicy powderyness - it is not smoky at all on me, but has a quality I can only describe as being like incense. This stage lasts another few hours. Then this begins to change again, into a softer, very feminine powdery vanilla floral on a rich resin base.

I find this to be very well blended, it is difficult for me to distinguish individual notes.
I love the way this perfume swirls and changes throughout the day. It is not one of these were one notes comes forward then retreats, not a scent that suddenly changes, no this swirls and softens and morphs slowly, subtly developing new nuances as it settles and beds in to the skin. This works with your body heat and chemistry to become an aura of beautiful scent that swirls and caresses the body as you move. I sit here taking deep breaths of this beauty.

This is a strong perfume and not for shrinking violets I think - yet it never becomes cloying or annoying, more it is fascinating as it slowly changes through the day.

Longevity is incredible, one spray onto my skin and this lasts through to the next morning! Sillage is pretty massive too, my partner is sat across the room and he can smell it distinctly as "my perfume" from about 5 feet away, and that is several hours in, probably the 7th or 8th hour now today. However he says it is not annoying or overpowering at all.

I really do like this perfume, enough to actually be considering buying a back up bottle. This may even replace Obsession as a favourite seeing as my 30ml obsession bottle with oakmoss is divine whereas my newer version without is a much thinner composition.

I really rate this perfume, give it a try.

Eira Sol

The design of this bottle is one of my all time favorites. And I have really tried to like what`s inside it too...

It lasts forever. Its like it`s lurking around. Moschino is so bold, intense and heavy. It`s like the entire 80s are trying to sneak up on me.

I guess im too young and not old fashioned enough.

The Swedish girl

The opening of this perfume smells like CK Obsession/Cartier Must with massive amounts of masculine patchouli mixed in.
Very ambery/buttery, and the galbanum really stands out. It actutally smells more masculine than feminine at this stage. Like older men used to smell when you were a kid, like shaving cream and such.

In the end it turns into Oscar, Oscar de la Renta. Carnations all over the place! Mixed with other spicy florals, like roses.

Opening - amber/patchouli oriental.
Ending - oriental floral.

It`s to dirty and masculine for my taste.

Namarie

Moschino Moschino is excatly strong and spicy perfume for me amber is very intensive note for this. I have also CK Obsession and they are very very similar for me.
Moschino a lil bit fresh but just a lil bit :D

lovely spicy perfume for me. 9/10

Edee

This is now one of my top three fragrances. I went for a doctor's visit this week and the moment the doctor walked into the room, he said, 'you always smelt so good. What is that you are wearing." I told him "Moschino Moschino". I told him that I really, really liked the smell, because not only was it fresh, but spicey too. I went on to tell him about Frangrantica and the many different perfumes and colognes that were reviewed here. I must say Moschino is an exhilirating aroma. It just makes you feel invigorated and yet it soothes you too somehow. This is something I can really appreciate while recovering from a bad injury.

This fragrance is spot on. I love it. It was a Christmas purchase. It is very elegant and calming. I wish they made this with matching body cream/lotion and shower gel.

Thank you Scorpiosheep for sharing a little sample of your precious Moschino. We often have different views on perfumes, but on this, I agree 100%. It is another 80's powerhouse and I am beginning to think I am stuck in the eighties because that is seemingly my genre. Just look at my wardrobe!
This is a big, resinous and spicy perfume yet it is also restrained and comforting. You won't be fearful of walking into an elevator wearing this.
I am a devotee of Moschino Couture! another gem from this house, but I may add the original Moschino to my collection soon.
Thanks Scorpiosheep ( and Vie Cafe :)!!)

Oh yes, Shalimar and memories of my mother!

I thank God that I ordered a tester, this is NOT the perfume for me!! I thought I'd ordered Oh De Moschino, but no, I got Moschino. Yuck!!

Preferring clean smells, but I've gotten used to a very inexpensive sweet smell, Ellen Tracy, which is lovely but Moschino is horrifying, unless you LOVE Shalimar, then it will be perfect for you!

dhiagelev

this lasts and lasts-GREAT! Warm, classic, and a beautifully balanced combination, neither exactly flowery, mossy, musky or animalic. Just a very pleasant enjoyable fragrance. It reminds me quite a bit of Gres Cabotine which I also love. This is suitable for day or evening, not knock your head off, nor so sexy you turn a room on when you don't want to do that! No, it is just perfect for every occasion. A womanly but not old ladyish perfume. Wearable, enjoyable, feminine.

arxsyn

I received a genuine tester of this perfume for free with a perfume purchase! The bottle was full but clearly recently been sprayed recently when I sniffed the cap. I could tell it had an older classic feel like Givenchy Organza or something and its not what I would normally go for. However in the same instant I detect a similar powdery sweet vanilla and green galbanum combo which I love in chanel no 19. The green note makes it a winner for me.

When I ventured to try just a tiny bit on skin, what a rush it was, full on citrus, warm spices, green note, sweet vanilla and sandalwood soap. Just like the bottle, it smelled like a warm, foamy, frothy, fizzy carbonated drink: root beer! I don't mean the cheap stuff, I mean REAL root beer made from plant roots and other traditional ingredients and process...

After a while it calms down you start to smell a more typical floral oriental. Soft and powdery.

Look forward to giving this a more thorough wearing!

PolarBear2

At first it smelled like an offensive version of Obsession because I was having bronchitis ..... then it changes quickly....WOW.................. it did smell like very expensive perfume for snobbish, chic women ! Reminded me of OBsession but not exactly the same. THE DRYDOWN is utterly beautiful ! You wont be disappointed ! LIKE !

nero77

To me this is very herbal, spicy, warm and a little fiery but at the same time, a calm scent as well. The fire cools on you and lingers in the background. I get a lot of the amber, so in this respect it is a lot like a spicy, ambery type scent, perhaps somewhat like an Ambre Sultan type thing. The galbanum also reminds me of the incense vibe in Opium eau de parfum female version, and I find this fragrance equally amazing in it's dry down.

I really like this fragrance, and whilst I originally bought this as a gift for a successful woman. I find it intoxicating and enjoy it on my skin as well (as I did with the richer, EDP female Opium by YSL). I think if you are a very successful type of female, probably in late twenties, early thirties onward, this can be a power scent. It says "I'm here, and I got here because I worked hard to be here" kind-of-scent. REAL women wear this, women who work hard and matter in their job etc.

Very classy... and definitely highly recommended.

I first asked for a sample because I wasn't sure whether I liked spicy fragrances (I've only JUST become a perfume addict :P) and when I smelt this I just thought WOW! In my opinion it smells like Indian incense, my sis and mum agree, and VERY aromatic, elegant and classy. I can smell only a TINY amount of pepper but it isn't enough to make you smell like a man :P I am pleased I bought this however, being only 16, I would say this perfume is more for those over the age of about 25 but that aint gonna stop me from wearing this!
Rating: 5/5 :D
Perfect for any LADY who wants to leave a classy, aromatic, sexy impression ;)

Diamar

I am amongst the happy owners of this scent now!

I literally was sniffing out the wearer of this scent the other day more than a month ago now. The sillage of this perfume is absolutely amazing! I could not find who it was as the scent gently filled all the foyer of the hotel I was in.

It is a very well blended fragrance. I was captivated by its unusual sweet, spicy and powdery nutmeg-vanilla aroma from the first second I felt it. It wasn't sugary sweet nor spicy hot. It was extremely feminine, sensual, warm and balanced to the perfection. I couldn't guess what the fragrance was, but I was definate in one thing - I must have it! I must admit that my first guess was - "Is that a Shalimar?" - but no I was completely sure that it wasn't after few following sniffs. It was something even more alluring to me, which to the fact was surprising, because I have Shalimar and used to think that there couldn't be anything more intriguing than that. But what was it then? I was walking around trying to find the Lady, being afraid of what if I won't going to find her and loose the chance of knowing what it is?

But, oh my, I found Her and I am so grateful She told me the name of the scent!! I was hesitating with a purchase as found the information on the internet that it is no longer available and what there is - all are fakes. Not true! I have received it today!

It's a fantastic oriental scent! One of a kind. If you like scents like Opium YSL, Shalimar Guerlain or Obsession Calvin Klein - go for it! But to be honest - this is such a treasure, I am pleased that it's not popular. True gem! It stands out from the crowd and makes others turn heads on you! It fills the room with your presence but not in a loud way, more as a gentle, but confident statement - the Lady is here.

wendyyparty

This is a VERY well-balanced perfume; warm, spicy, and easy to wear. A little old-fashioned but strangely I find it really soothing. I feel safe and comfortable everytime I wear it.

renneyg007

A knockout scent with proper 'pow'. Little bottle, big personality. A Moschino classic, might be too much for some. Has some of my favourite notes rose, vanilla, ylang ylang, amber & sandalwood. Nice.

stella by starlight

one of the best bargains in the market today. this is a well crafted perfume, long lasting, rich and classy.
its not a sugar bomb. its a bit like boucheron but less soapy. i highly recommend.

ritacatita

This is a really good stuff. First of all, one thing that I love about perfumes is where I can feel them all day long. To feel them in a nice way, I mean, not being overwhelming or suffocating. Moschino fits perfectly in the category of being there for the all day cuddling and spoiling our senses.

I would describe it as a warm, spicy, bitter-sweet, having an herbal touch with something creamier about it and a light & almost imperceptible touch of leather which is oh so good!

mendosita

This is my recent fascination. I bought it after just one test, I cannot wait for it to arrive.
It is very rich and creamy. Overwhelming with its power, sillage and longevity. Typical 80' fragrance. Bold, strong, very feminine. It reminds me of Obsession and Boucheron- it has the same climate. Spices and amber are the most detectible, there is some vanilla, but it comes out lightly at the end of it's lasting. Very old fashion perfume.

AveParfum

Resins, vanilla, musk, and touch of black pepper. Intense, bold, spicy, sultry, sizzling, borderline stuffy (or what some like to refer to as "balmy"). I just adore it, and something about it screams "Italy" to me more than any other perfume. I don't know why. I find it alluring, mysterious, penetrating to the soul. The scent might seem just a tad old-fashioned or outdated. To pull off this 80's perfume takes guts, but I believe that anyone around you who inhales its bewitching scent will demand to know what you're wearing. It's a classic.

Jvs3005

Haven't been wearing this one for long now (maybe half an hour), but I believe this will be a new favourite for days that I don't have a clear idea of what to wear :). Apparently I really like 80's-90's perfumes :D. Loulou, Classique de JPG, Poème, Moschino, Musk, Obsession ... Bring it on! :D They at least have some oomph, some body. In these times of sweet and girly water perfumes, this one stands out just enough. I do believe this one is more wearable than Obsession. Obsession can turn out very animalic.

This one definately makes a statement imo: I'm a woman and a confident, elegant one too! Even on days that you just picked Moschino because you don't have a strong desire for another smell.

lolitajade

I wore Moschino in the early 2000's and I thought this smells familiar. It is only now that I am trying to buy back the perfumes I used to wear, I bought Moschino and Benetton Colors, I used to wear in the early nineties that I know where I knew the Moschino smell from. Very similar indeed :)

I did buy a vintage bottle of Benetton, which I believe has civet in and the reformulated doesn't but give it a try if you want a cheaper version of Moschino.

leora1987

This is a classic timeless smell which is deliciously warm, woody and sweet, (but not too sweet) all at the same time.
Unlike the other Moschino perfumes this one is the most sophisticated of them all. Its speaks of experience and sophistication and is not at all girly and floral like all the other innocuous, boring and alarmingly tedious fragrances which seem to be 'in fashion' at the moment.
If you want to make a statement without screaming the place down, this fragrance is for you.

LadyRogue

My favorite Moschino: I adore Orientals and this one has that rare mix that smells wonderful on my skin. I adore Patchouli (in the right amount!) and this Moschino happens to deliver just that. A wonderful silage and a powdery dry down that always lures you with a hint of Patchouli! Wonderful!

Hippyhop2

This is a recognizable perfume when worn by others, I go like "are you wearing...?". I love this scent, a little goes a long way. Perfect on a cold day... but even on a evening in the summer. The key is not to use too much.
It's a warm interesting perfume. I don't know much perfumes that smell like this one. Warm, present but not overpowering.

jsmudde

It's been my absolute favorite ever since it came out years ago. Compliments galore. Unfortunately getting harder to find, especially the bath/shower gel (anyone find it lately?) Thanks to the suggestion it is alot like Boucheron -- may I ask which one -- I am not familiar with and I see there are many. Thank you!

kookaburrah

This smells very similar to Boucheron.

silverbutterfly

I got one bottle today from some shop.So far it is warm, spicy and balmy. It somewhat, like a warm hug in November. I am goinf out now, when I be back, I tell, how it opens and play....
P.S.It revealed a bot burned wood note after a while.

candymarie

I agree with everything Olga1780 said (she summed it up very nicely!) and I would add that, even though the notes don't indicate it, for me there is at some point in the drydown a chypre-esque quality here. Then later, a soapy aldehyde quality. But when the dust completely settles, a good, classic oriental emerges that I find familiar and comforting. Like a *slightly* updated version of something my mom might've worn in the 70's. (BTW, with the vanilla, amber, woods and spices, why isn't this classifed as oriental?)

nada

I am only sad I am descovring Moschino only now. From their ads I always thougt it was nothing special just mainstream compotes... This one is really up there with all my other fav orientals that hits you strong:)

olga1780

I had high expectations for this perfume because it was supposed to be old school classic, ulike the rest of the Moschino fragrances. And not only did it not disappoint me a bit, but exceeded my expectations.
Very beautiful and unique creation with a touch of vintage feel to it, although I would put it in the oriental spicy category. Definitely a formal fragrance. If you like classics like Arpege, Rochas Femme, Diva, First and so on and so forth, you sure will be able to appreciate this one.

zapling

Until now (now being AFTER I got a hated but informative poudre note sample) i always thought Moschino was the mistress of Powdery scent. Along with Shalimar and Anne Klein II. What I defined as powdery was the way a perfume makes a cloud of sweet dry particles, the way it seems to get so high up in my nose that I smell it with the inside of my head.
Anyway, I don't agree with some reviewers who think Moschino is sexy. To me, this is pure air-headed elegance.

cisco

Just received mine today after a long wait. As Sherapop said, "this is perfume". This sillage is along the line of Shalimar. In other ways, they share nothing.

Upon first applying, I may have been too heavy handed because I wanted to run to the bath and scrub is off. It was nearly overwhelming. After about 15 minutes, it mellows to a beautiful oriental. The first blast is similar to the smell of kerosene which gives way to beautiful flowers and woodie goodies. There is nothing sweet about this concoction. To me, it is pure oriental. The nutmeg, patchouli, and sandalwood blend with the carnation and gardenia. There is no question they dominate the carnations and gardenias. I think the flowers are there to merely temper the woodie offerings. I have not noticed the pepper.

This is a "true perfume" that bares no resemblance to many of today's watery offerings. I have not had it on long enough to judge its longevity but firmly feel it will be superior. I must say this is seductive like Obsession and not classy like Arpege. It actually makes Obsession look like its shy chaste sister. Yet, I believe it has its time and place. Viva Moschino, the ultimate sexy frag!!!!

The longer I wear this, the better it smells. The value makes this a major winner. I will be back again with further details.

Further Details: This one has superior longevity. It is going strong after more than six hours. This is a winner.

mediterranean

This one has disappear from the selves in Spain,What a pity! It used to be better than Obsession by CK,and I loved it. It is a little bit masculine and very sensual I still have lovely memories of it.Moschino sells now very trendy fragrances that I suppose more modern generations fancy and appreciate but this one was their best by far.

passionata20

To me this is the chaotic mix of all the notes and if there would be less of the green note in it there would be a chance that i could like it. But there is a note in it that simply distracts me. Haven´t detected it yet, but i will wait and give it another try. In some way it reminds me of a "Krazy Krizia" but much more wearable for me becuase of the sharp notes here. I don´t get any similarities to "Obsession", after reading that i especially went to perfume store to compare and Obsession is much sharper to me and more wearable to my taste. I really love the pepper note and carnation, but still there is something that turns me off.
So sad, i really wanted to like it. I guess i have to grow yet to wear this perfume. It suits really good my grandma though.

fanny

Utterly charming and mysterious perfume: musky tones, lovely flowers, a touch of vanilla, warm wood.

Associations: cold winter mist, white damask, short days, a celebration, maybe even a wedding..

So glad I own a bottle.

sherapop

"It's a perfume!" were the first words out of my mouth upon applying Moschino MOSCHINO. What a gorgeous, substantial composition this is! I love the rich florality mingling with all of the spices and the patchouli. The marigold (tagetes) really stands out for me--in a beautiful way--but all of the other floral and oriental and chypre notes contribute as the voices of a harmonic chorus.

MOSCHINO has very, very, big sillage and phenomenal longevity (impossible to review two perfumes on this glorious day!), and I have to say that this is my best purchase in a long time. Although this perfume was launched in the '80s, I do not find it '80s-ish in that "oh no: impossible to wear" way, but I do think that it needs to be applied sparingly if one plans on interacting with others in public. I was thrilled to spend another dreaded "wintry mix" weather day in my warm apartment marvelling at how wonderful I smell!

I steered clear from the house of Moschino after less than felicitous encounters with three members of the CHEAP & CHIC series, none of which I find wearable. But they have redeemed themselves many times over with MOSCHINO and also COUTURE, another recent acquisition and splendid creation. As an added plus, the bottles in which these two gems are housed are lovely as well...

Anyone who loves perfume (as opposed to unidimensional flimsy cologne, shower-in-a-bottle, office-ready inoffensive fruity floral frags, etc.) has got to give MOSCHINO a sniff!

Matin

A woody musk (with oriental touch) and floral deep, made dusty, round and intense. A smell difficult to forget ... it associated with something old.
He remembers the smell of the cupboards of my grandmother, or own his in the special days, it does that he does not find place for this perfume in my life.Probably it is an aroma that it appreciates with the time???.

Passed some time is smoothed lightly and becomes more comfortable, but not as to take it definitively.

NebraskaLovesScent

I keep trying Moschino and waiting to like it. Not sure I'll ever get there. This is another fragrance whose notes look great on paper but come across as harsh and discordant on my skin. It's very strong and has monster sillage on me.

I love the big loud scents of the 1980's. I'm fond of many patchoulis and spicy scents. I detect in Moschino some similarities to other scents I have enjoyed (Bal a Versailles and L'Air de Rien, for example), but Moschino is such an odd mix of spices, greens and sweetness. I can't quite bring myself to say I like it.

The overall effect on me: old lady wearing too much Gardenia perfume just ate pasta with spicy marinara and is getting ready to mop the floor with some Spic and Span.

[No offense to old ladies, Gardenia lovers, spicy marinara eaters or folks who clean their floors with Spic and Span. :-) ]

[Feel free to substitute "old man" for "old lady" in my description. Moschino is unusual enough to be 100% unisex.]

melia

This is one of those unexpected intruiging perfumes. I did not foresee that from such a bottle this perfume would evolve! It starts out with a bomb of OLD glam, which makes me think immidiately: NO! not my piece of cake! But then, it settles down so interesting and spicy.. extravagant, which makes you want to máke it your piece of cake. Definitly try this if you can... Even if it scares you a little.

soniamcalear

I have to add a second review because I have to say that this stuff literally gags me in the Summer!!!! In the Fall its absolutley wonderful! This is one of the rare few perfumes that I have that has ever did this to me. Im now waring this again but I tired it this summer and almost lost my "cookies" after putting it on. WIEIRD. perfume is a strange science indeed!

RkrChk

This fragrance was way too strong for me...I didn't like it, and I LOVE many of the Moschino fragrances!

sky76sky

This is what I would have liked to have worn in the 80's! Strong, rich, decadent, lady-like with a woody, male-edge...a sharp tailored suit complete with shoulder-pads & bold gold jewellery...all woman yet with plenty of feistyness!

Strong, spicey, alcoholic, herbal & bitter-sweet at first - blasting its way onto the skin, making its presence known like a pair of high heels on a cool marble floor. Moschino then takes its sweet time to slowly mellow into a more rounded "perfumey" fragrance (I see scents like 24Fauberg as having this rich, perfumey quality).

The progression of this scent is fantastic! It gradually evolves from its very male beginnings into a heady, heavenly, feminine fragrance via a myriad of convoluted perfumed twists & turns. How many modern edts can boast this interest & power?

The last gasps are of a pervasive, musky, velvety vanilla fog....many, many hours later! Soniamcalear hits the nail on the head by describing it as the inside of a ladies purse...a rich lady who owns gilded compacts with a down puff & waxy, ruby-red lipstick.

Like Kama, this reminds me of a mix of frags - a healthy dose of Rykiel Woman (warm, peppery-spiced) blended with the big "perfumey" voice of scents like 24F, Boucheron, L'Heure Bleue.

Despite its 80's nature & unsettling start, I find it a perfume relevant to this sweet-modern era, a classic, undated. If you like strong woody-musks (like strip) & unusual spicey-orientals (like Rykiel Woman)I urge you to try it! If you don't fall for it at least you will enjoy the experience of a true perfume-ride.

seventh

I am so glad this one has not been killed yet and I am so glad that women don't choose this one but choose some cheesy perfumes that are no where near to this masterpiece. The lasting power is long as most of Moschino's fragrances, my scarf smells with days on it. Luca Turin compared this with L'heur Bleue from Guerlain, only making a remark that this was a copy of it. I would say that for me this one is better. At least stays longer with you.Amongst YSL's NU this is one of my all time favorites.

soniamcalear

This is really strong and sweet to start off with but then it quickly calms down, in fact I think it calms down to much because I absolutely love this scent so much. It reminds me of the smell of a ladies purse inside after she has kept all her lovely belongings it for so long and tenderly packed it away for another day. Its sweet and musky.

I GET COMPLIMENTS ON THIS ALL THE TIME!

mymlan

Moschino is a very classy fragrance I used to wear in the 90's. I have never forgotten the spice, flower and vanilla combination that makes this scent so unique.

Today I was surprised to see it on sale in the department store and the SA told me that they haven't had it for a long time. Smelling it again ewoked memories from the past and how luxurious I felt wearing it when I was still a student.

The strange notes of oregano, coriander and nutmeg added something peculiar to it's composition which I liked at that time. And Moschino is very longlasting. After several hours there is still ylang ylang, rose, musk and vanilla lingering on my wrist.

I can't make up my mind if I should buy it or not? It was such a bargain, (only USD 22). But I think that Shalimar edp will fulfill some of the desired notes of flowers, spices and vanilla and add some other notes that I'm more crazy about wearing today.

Action

I loved this one for decades, but just this weekend I once again discovered what an incredible beauty this is..
UNBELIEVABLE

Action

Very unique, classic and vampy!
Lasts very long too.

Actually, this is a very MUST MUST MUST have. It is one of the most beautiful perfumes ever.

missk

Moschino is no doubt a classic fragrance which has somehow slipped under the radar during the last few decades.

I very rarely hear of this signature scent by Moschino, it seems that their fruity florals and more modern offerings have gained them more success. A shame seeing how elegant and refined this fragrance actually is.

Moschino is spicy yet soapy. The spicy components in the opening when blended with the vanilla, patchouli and floral notes in the drydown, gives this fragrance a beautiful, creamy texture which I really admire.

I'll agree with trueperfumelover that suggested that this fragrance is similar to the classic and highly praised Boucheron pour Femme, although it is perhaps not as complex.

I like Moschino's simplicity and also love the fact that for an eau de toilette, this fragrance lasts almost a whole day.

I highly recommend.

Iskulin

Is has presence in a positive sense. Rich blend with a volume and spices. Time eats the spices away, so it could lie back and sink in velvet armchair. It makes me think of the past, and blissfully slows down my pace.

Kama

I just got this today - it is beautiful bottle and beautiful box! Gold and expensive looking!

Anyway, I ordered this perfume because someone said that are a bit similar to Dolce Gabbana BY...

I think that they are in the climate, but not VERY SIMILAR to Dolce Gabbana BY..at least not in my opinion...

I think they are like... mixing of
Dolce Gabbana BY and Sonia Rykiel EDP Not for men..
They have spiciness and some sexy part of Dolce Gabbana BY
and pepper and also spiciness not from Sonia Rykiel EDP Not for men - but much lighter version of Sonia Rykiel EDP Not for men.
They are strong ONLY within 3-5 first minutes...
I definitely like them...

I want to edit something more..now after wearing them for 40 minutes I really like them!!! They are very elegant but sexy... and the tone from Sonia Rykiel goes away a little bit and more of D&G BY appears...

valdano

This one is my mother's fave...
And i begin to like it too!

Bring the strong scent at the first spray, but this is i must tell you that the Overwhelmed coriander was fading way by time!

Leaves Vanilla and Nutmeg behind!

This is too strong for me, but i don't know why i just love it!

My mom had it from 1995 and still exists until now (wow its been 15 years old and the scent still strong)

Wildeparker

I've owned many perfumes over the past 14 years, this is the only one I don't clearly remember the smell of. I remember the shiny box, I remember the bottle with the cool bow - I don't remember the scent. Maybe that's useless information - OR maybe that's a very pertinent clue as to the value of this fragrance. I do remember that I used to wear this when I didn't have any strong feelings as to what to wear. It was my "whatever, I don't really care" fragrance. Do with that information what you will! :-D
