Nina L'Elixir by Nina Ricci is a Floral Fruity fragrance for women. Nina L'Elixir was launched in 2010. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Cresp. Top notes are Amalfi Lemon and Caipirinha; middle notes are Red Berries, Jasmine and Candy Apple; base notes are Musk, Cedar and Amber.

After several variants on the Nina perfume from 2006, we can expect yet another fragrance dedicated to young princesses, tickling our imagination with its fresh and rich composition. The name Nina L `Elixir promises a true" love potion “composed of red fruit and jasmine, refreshed with bright green Caipirinha lime. The trace of musk brings sensuality to the scent, which completes the entire composition, placed into a new red apple with silver leaves and stopper. This edition’s perfumer is Olivier Crespi, while the advertising face of the perfume is Florrie Arnold, the new “energy” of the house. The perfume can be expected in August of 2010.

Got this from a friend who stored it well, thanks to her extreme introverted way of living (she's basically a monk) she never wore it so she gave it to me since I notoriously love perfumes. It's not for me... But it's much more interesting than I thought it would be!

The first spray is a fresh cherry pie, you bite into it while sipping your sparkling water and suddenly you're fifteen, just put your new red ballet flats on and waiting for your date to pick you up, from the window you can smell the spring flowers blooming.... It's bubbly and positive. I can feel the tiny little pecks on my cheeks and lips. Slowly it grows stranger, more mysterious, there's a lynchian vibe here... It would be the perfume of Alice, if Lynch made an Alice in Wonderland film...

Painting your nails you turn on Twin Peaks, which seems aesthetically pleasing, than you find yourself wondering into that valley of dreams, muskiness surround you but that fresh berry pie and jasmine scent is still there, there's something very beautiful about this... And the scent stays for quite some time, it's as long as a lynchian dream in a red room.

I gave the bottle to me seventeen year old sister... I think it's very fitting for a teenager.

Pewbom

I miss this! This fragrance was my signature scent when i was 15 :( . It was so good

I found a sample of this perfume at the very bottom of my drawer while sorting. Very pleasant fragrance to wear! Not extraordinary; it has nothing complex and it is very very fruity. Light, airy, the musk for once does not bother me, on the contrary it gives freshness with the lemon to kill the sugar excess of red fruits. The rendering is very homogeneous and the longevity not bad either! The opening displeases me a little but the evolution becomes more and more pleasant. Normally I am not a fan of Nina Ricci perfumes, but this one won me over!

I HATE that it's discontinued. I loved it so much. It smells just like what I would expect looking on ingredient list. It's very sweet but balanced with sourness. It lasted quite long, few sprays in the morning would last all day long.

Mona708

I won this scent in a giveaway earlier this year and I love it! It starts out smelling like concentrated sour cherry syrup- similar to one you’d use for shaved ice- before becoming a cozy shampoo scent. It’s a great, inoffensive casual scent that lasts at least six hours. I might actually get some later on.

PlanetGrl

A lovely if uninspired fragrance with the worst longevity on my skin unfortunately. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel and was gone after less than three hours. The bottle looks lovely on my dressing table, but it’s going up for sale.

Jacklyn's Perfumery

I have no room for my collection and my bottle fell and broke inside the neck but I can still spray it. This is straight up lemon candy goodness. It's extremely fresh but sweet at the same time. If you like Britney Spears gourmands then this would be the next step up as it smells pretty amazing for that fresh gourmand candy feel. What's really nice about this elixir is as it dries down you get this spicy toffee affect I never noticed until after all these years and turns the fragrance just a smidge dark. I don't know if this has been reformulated because I have an original bottle from years ago. This is a freshie that is fairly affordable and I think most would love. It does smell like a juicy apple underneath the citrus and toffee spice. The Nina Ricci bottles are very pretty to collect too.

Eternity Girl

I miss my bottle of Elixir. My daughter 'borrowed it' and I never saw it again.

Its a wonderful straight up sunshine lemon initially and then settles quickly into a fresh candy red apple. A sweet red toffee apple without being a caramel kind of toffee.

Its very refreshing, clean, clear and bright and yummy. Beautiful.

delightme5

I've worn this for a day so I'll çomment.
Beautiful, obvious sweet berries type gourmand that by now you expect to know. It slightly leans toward being a linear scent - tho suddenly, much later, i swear i was smelling fresh vanilla sweet cup cakes, with pale pink butter icing materialise around me. It must be the combination of the musks playing against the other additions.
Fun. A little bit sexy and can be refreshingly delicious.

gtabasso

tart red berries with a hint of lemon

burcaktugrul

Juicy fruity yummy scent. I prefer floral scents over fruity ones but Everytime I wear it I get compliments from men, so yeah I think it smells kinda sexy. I don't use it everyday but nice to have it in my collection for special occasions.

AHeartLikeMine

This is a lighter, more powdery version of the original Nina. I assume that my nose must be interpreting the musk note as powdery. It also has a sweeter floral opening. However, this doesn't have nearly the longevity of the original Nina. Nina lasted around 6 hours on my arm; L'Elixir lasted about half that time. Its sillage also faded faster.

Lumoava

It seemed so nice on paper and as I love gourmand scents, I thought I'd like it. But sadly, I don't and it doesn't smell good on me. I guess it's those citrus and licorice (not listed but prominent) notes that bother me the most. I don't think it's awful but I'm not gonna wear it either.

cherelune

I don't love L'Elixir nearly as much as I do Nina, but I find this a very pleasant and uplifting scent. It opens tart and fresh, full of vigor. The tanginess is slighly sweetened by juicy red berries. It dries down just a little bit musky and just slightly powdery to me.

Overall, it is youthful and lively, but not necessarily suitable for younger girls only. (I'm pushing 40, but nothing is going to stop me from wearing this!) It is a good everyday perfume for the hot summers in my country, and wearable even in the office.

Priyadarshini

I wanted to own and love a Nina Ricci perfume and after seeing the good looking surreal ads of princesses carrying beautiful apple bottles in their hands I decided buying one.

The first few spritz smells sour berries which turns into something dense sweet like honey and apple. Its quite intense and when it settles down it smells like some sweet powder.

Overall I really couldnot like the perfume even after wanting to like it. It is good for teenage girls who would like to smell sweet and fruity but definitely not a grown up scent. The bottles are the best part though the metallic leaves loose the color. Sillage and stay power is moderate to good.

briones

A softer Ricci ricci. fresher than nina.

Waterships

I love Nina Ricci fragrances. unfortunately this one has an overpowering flare of liquorice on application. I do like liquorice but I don't want to smell of it!. On me it takes over an hour before that smell goes away and is replaced by a gorgeous warm and sensual slightly musky aroma with elements of powder and Lily. I just don't get any fruitiness at all.

Madrona

Apple bubblegum with lemony crispness and creamy jasmine. A bit of musk takes it from candyland to perfume world. Such a happy scent. I like this one much better than the original Nina, which I was rather "meh" about - this one turns it up to 11, which is far more becoming. Mmm-mmm-mmm.

TanyaLynn

Bought this mistakenly (thought I was buying Nina by Nina Ricci). It smells similar to Elizabeth Arden Beauty on my skin (I say this though I haven't had that perfume in YEARS). It smells a bit cheap. Too floral for me.

shell_bell

Someone mentioned fresh and crisp - perfect explanation!

Nina L'Elixir just SCREAMS spring and summer to me and with the temps finally warming up I was so happy to get this one out of storage to wear while lounging in the warm winds of my favorite reclining chair in the backyard.

Sweet red berries and lemon definitely pop up first with a lovely jasmine musk on drydown. I swear I also detect what smells like a beautiful pink pepper on my skin as well...gives it the slightest peppery kick!
5-6 hours on my skin and longer on my clothes, this one sticks around and gives you bang for your buck.

Every girl just should have a bottle of Nina L'Elixir in her springtime wardrobe. Trust me, you'll get compliments. ;)

preslavapopova

Love it! L'Elixir is one of my favourites and I'll never get tired of it. Sour dark cherries and red apples, a bit of lemon and jasmin. Sweet, delicious and sexy. Nice sillage and good staying power on my skin. I like wearing it in the autumn, winter and especially in the spring. It reminds me of a bit Ricci Ricci.

rockgirl

Bubblegum, cupcakes and jasmine. I don't detect the sourness that's mentioned, which might be nice in balancing the sweetness. It doesn't smell bad on me though, and once the sweetness wears down, I really like it.

My 3rd bottle in the Nina collection. These are quickly becoming my favorites!

blakbarbee

I absolutely love this...so fresh & fruity, but mature!! I can't get enough of this and just ran out of my bottle so I need to repurchase ASAP!!! Ladies, you will LOVE it!!!

grumpycloud

Just like all the other Nina perfumes, they are deliciously fresh and crisp. Yet, unlike the other ones this is very sexy and deeper. I could see this as a both night or day time fragrance.

It's tart but also sweet. I think that really anyone could wear this perfume (like all of Nina's perfumes.) I absolutely love all of Nina's perfumes and I will continue to repurchase them for their amazing, delicious, beautiful perfumes.

Lybarra118

This is my favorite of the Nina apple bottles. I like them all (at least of the four I've tried), but this one is my favorite. They are all very similar and, personally, I don't think there's a need to own more than one, other than to collect the pretty bottles.
I don't even know what it is about this one that I love, but it just *feels* me. I don't pick up any particular notes, either. To me it's a tart, sour, citrusy, sweet berry scent with a hint of freshness. I also get a slight undercurrent of something that smells like caramel.
It's more than a plain ol' boring fruity-floral. It's got pizazz.
Longevity and projection are both moderate.

STARISH

I bought it today after being fantasizing with its smell since I tested it for the first time two months ago.
Its smell is fantastic! So sweet, so nice, so femenine. It's my favourite Nina Ricci's fragrance, in my opinion it's better than Nina and Nina L'eau because it's not too citric, this one smells like a candied apple with nice notes of cherry. So beautiful!
It's sillage is not too high not too low, it's perfect and its longevity is very good on my skin (8+ hours).
I'm in love with it!

Smells like apple hukkah...that's all..love it!

Peachysugarbuns

I sprayed this on like, "Oh, Olivier Cresp created L'Elixer! LET'S DO THIS!" and immediately was like, "AH, DAMMIT! WHY?!"

I can't do fragrances like this in my 30's. They're too young for me, too red berry-ish and too bright. I feel embarrassed when wearing them - like I'm dressed inappropriately for a specific occasion, or split my pants while at work, or like I had a friend do my makeup and she did a terrible job and I feel insanely self conscious.

I get it, frags like this are cute, but I am wearing a blazer right now and L'Elixer couldn't possibly be more of an ill-fitting accessory. Unfortunately this fragrance projects like a mutha and lasts for aeons.

L'Elixer is adorable, but I am definitely not adorable and I've never been princess-like...

Andreaeli

I don't like it, it doesn't smell like the original Nina, which I love, this is just cherries and a hint of musk, like cherry jello, IMO it smells cheap, and it has very poor sillage and longevity.

I would rather had the ortiginall Nina in eau de perfum than this

Katty M

So fruity and sweet and fresh love it ;It was a gift from my husband and his
choice was very good.

Agata654

I love this fragrance! It's more mature and complex than original Nina, but I can still tell the similarities between L'Elixir and original.

L'Elixir is very fruity, my nose clearly detects delicious, sweet red berries at the beginning. The scent doesn't evolve a lot, it's very sweet and feminine. At the end musk and sandalwood emerge and they're much more distinct than in original Nina.

The longevity is fairly decent, on my skin it lasts around 5-6 hours. The sillage is also rather moderate, which makes it perfect as an everyday fragrance for fall especially.

If you're original Nina lover, I would recommend trying this fragrance! It's not as popular as the original, so if you don't like wearing popular scents, give a try this one.

NurseElle

Anyone want to swap? I have a bottle of this, but it really doesnt suit my skin?

suile

Red fruits and lemon with a hint of light florals and musk. On longer wear, an apple note seems to emerge.

Fairly long lasting, 3-4 hours, but Elixir is a bit of a misleading name ; it's not a powerhouse fragrance by any means. Pleasant every day style, especially in warm weather.

rachel.mitchell

Many people say that L'elixir and original Nina smell the same but I don't think so. Everything I recognise in Nina, I can't notice in L'elixir. It's still quite a nice scent, and seems quite strong, but is definitely different and more mature than Nina.

nancyjoyl

This is definitely a fresh morning scent that lingers all day. It's a spring in to summer fragrance because it's sweet with a slight punch of glam

Sylvie-Aus

Such an uplifting scent ! Makes me smile , clears my head and spirits in an instant ! The scent of Joy !

missjackie

Since the first time I smelled the original Nina I was a big fan and I finished 3 or 4 bottles (and still counting).
Only recently I discovered this one and I like it even more! It's a more mature fragrance (where the original nina is more suited for younger girls). Very sweet, the same sharp lemony twist and a more mature (musky) drydown. Very nice. This will surely be a rebuy!

angelapaul

This was love at first spray from the beautiful bottle.

The bright citrus opening is lovely and fresh, then it develops to a blend of juicy sweet fruit and spicy jasmine. The dry-down is a long-lasting sweet musk.

An impressive balance of tart, sweet, and musky. I particularly like this for Spring and Autumn.

sail0rmars

As I used "Nina" for a whole year, I wanted to test this one too, and it really smells great! A sweet caramel of apples, cherries and lemons.. It definately is more on the sweet side than "Nina" and it was a love at first spray. In two words: Girly and yummy! I have to test the longevity again, because it didn't last on me,but this happens to me with many aromas. It probably needs more than one spray :)

perfumelovermadz

LOVE LOVE LOVE this! Smells amazing, always get compliments and quite long lasting. Kind of citrusy, but unlike the other version 'Nina' it has a warmer more sweet smell. I do not quite smell the lemon.

Bluemarinejosephine

I love this…

It is a well-balanced fruity and musky-sweet fragrance, with a light and bright note of lemon. This blend makes the scent cheerful and happy, deliciously sweet but not cloying.
I would describe it as a caramel apple baked into a citrus-licorice candy. It smells nice, it gives a positive vibe and it makes me feel happy.

It is a youthful fragrance but, I can see it appropriate for all ages who are young at heart. The bottle design is also lovely.
I really can’t recommend it enough, especially for younger girls who are now entering the beautiful world of fragrances. It is a lovely gift to introduce your daughter, your niece or a loved child to a good quality, happy scent.

Enjoy the (good) perfume quest! ;-)

Luthien999

SO DELICIOUS and well- balanced! This perfume is perfect for winter. It smells cozy and has better longevity than original Nina. I have the 80 ml bottle.

Fabulous Kevin

With this one i smell spiced candy, the opening is very sweet and fresh. IMO nina l'elixir smells simlilar to Heiress by Paris Hilton, nice fragrance! 8/10

lalondem

yes, spiced candies as Lali_7 said! But I happen to love it where she does not :( ...at first I thought it some kind of candy apple ,but spiced candy descibes it so much better. Definitely not your generic common, smell. Just yummy without being sickening,.

Denise Wong

This is the gift rewards from media game. :)
The fragrance smelling is so strong while 1st spray... but after a while it become as feminine smelling, red berries and lemon flavour are so sharp, suitable for winter season. :)

remtea

I think I'm the only one who detected a spicy smell in the perfume. Maybe cinnamon? Maybe it was just me. I definitely agree that it's a really warm scent, though.

heybabette

i firstly wore this in summer - and it was so heavy, bitter, and powdery - it gave me a headache, and though slightly disappointing, i figured i'd use it whenever i needed to feel more "grown up"...

but then came winter, and it had been a while so i decided to try again. this time, all the fruitiness came out - it was sweet, loving, and just delicious. i'm not sure if my chemistry has changed or if the cold weather bought it out or both - but i absolutely adore it now! i smell a constant whiff of cherries and berries. good longevity and sillage too!

jdawg

This perfume makes a woman feel young. Love it.

bjlkt2

On me this smelled so strangely *warm*...from first spritz I didn't get the fruity sweetness other people smelled. It was a very strong floral which quickly morphed into a powdery-ish scent? Then about 10 minutes in I'm smelling more of the warmth of the cedar o.O Either I have strange skin and this just doesn't work for my chemistry, or I was sent the wrong sample.....

hedikukk

Opening is fruity but it very quickly turns into overwhealming sweetness. Like bathing in candy.

labradorite

A very well blended mixture of berries, jasmine, musk and lemon. Makes L'Elixir so much more complex than it is in reality! The lemon is gentle and subtle in the opening and disappears quickly to give space for the berries and the jasmine. Musk is a great undertone, keeps the scent nice and warm and sweet.

I does resemble the original Nina, but as it has already been described before, it starts off more as the dry-down of the original thing. A great option for those of you who are struggling with the overpowering opening of Nina. The design is gorgeous, but that's to be expected from all that is a Ricci apple.

This makes a really comfortable and warm scent in the cold months. Keeps you going from morning till afternoon, and you'll get nice whiffs of it throughout the day as you move around.

mistykerryn

This is beautiful, but very strong on me. I can't wear it in summer or warm weather because it just gets so cloying and sickly. In colder weather however, it's perfect.. L'Elixir has a nice balance between red berries and lemon in the beginning then becomes like sweet apples. Very sensual, sweet and delicious, the bottle is a piece of art too. Nice sillage and lasts a good 6-7 hours on me. Great quality perfume this one.

ForrealMe2

To make this simple this smells like the original Nina but less of the lemon tartiness..its there but this is more of the dry down of the original Nina with the berry starburst vanilla candy feel...i was expecting this to be just like the original Nina but just more intense but its more closer to La Paradis..i think La Paradis and Original Nina are the best..but i still love this one ...how can you not love Nina and her apples!

rickyfreaky13

This is Aphrodisiac in a Cute Red Apple Bottle! I feel like having sex when i smell this scent. I would give 10 thumbs up if i have 10!

arlina1

This is so fruity and musky it is perfect. The notes listed above is not all that I smell. The lemon is not over powering or Pledge'ish. It is clean and clear. The red berries smell just picked. It is a very feminine and alluring fragrance. I will stock up for sure. I don't want to be without this one in my collection.

mistykerryn

This is the first Nina Ricci perfume I've tried and I'm impressed! This is very citrus-y to me, I can definitely smell the lemon, and after about 30 minutes the lemon mellows out and I smell delicious apple and berries, slight hint of musk. This is my first time wearing it properly, however on the day I bought it, I tested it on my arm and it lasted ages! Also this is quite strong on me, so no more than two sprays is enough, I think, or else this risks becoming cloying.
I am in love with the bottle, it is my favourite out of all the other bottles I own, so adorable! I can't wait to try some of the other Nina apples. Overall I love this perfume, it's a super fruity and sweet scent, and at the same time it's sexy. Would recommend

rachellecunningham

L'Elixir is my favourite of the Nina Ricci perfumes. I love Nina, but l'Elixir is a fruitier, sweeter version with a very strong berry note. It's the kind of sweet that comes across as all-ages to me, and it lasts for such a long time! I'll never get tired of this scent, or the pretty little apple bottle it comes in.

Nina L'Elixir opens like a red berry and lemon sorbet, candy sweet with an aqueous dewy feeling. When this fizzling aspect fades away and the scent dries down, jasmine blends in. This fruity floral concoction, while sweeter than the original Nina, is also deeper and more velvety. But overall, the candy sweetness is still quite dominant in Nina L'Elixir, as in Nina as well.

The sillage is moderate and the longevity is at least 9 hours. Although Nina L'Elixir is clearly in the same vein as Nina, they are different enough to be distinguished from each other. And Nina L'Elixir has much less the volatile feeling, thus less brash. But at the same time, Nina L'Elixir lacks the cedar element in Nina that helps to restrain and balance the candy sweetness. It's an interesting variation on Nina themes, nontheless. However, for a red berry prominent scent, I think there are other better choices.

chrissyc15

I love this scent. I received it in a swap and DEFINITELY love this more than the other I swapped for it! It just reminds me of Spring and Summertime. It is so light, fresh, and clean smelling as well as feeling. I live in TN where we have EXTREMELY hot and humid. This fragrance will be so nice and refreshing! The berry lemon bursts along with the hint of jasmine reminds me of sitting out on the front porch in the dead of summer sipping on a berry lemonade (very popular here) and wild jasmine growing near by. LOVE IT!

The longevity of it lasts about 6-7 hours on me which is actually very good because most perfumes (other than Bond No 9) do not las long on me at all.

The sillage starts off at about moderate, but settles close down to the skin.

ScarlettX

The notes listed here doesn't quite describe what I felt when I smelt this perfume.
At first there was a weird medicament scent which I found very interesting. Not bad at all. But I'm sure I felt something besides lemon.
Then it got very floral, I smelt something besides jasmine, some other flower which name I can't remember.
At drydown it smelled really really nice. It was sour and sweet at the same time. Such a lovely scent full of citrus. Delicious.

CherryKissesxxx

This is the first Nina Ricci perfume I've tried and I'm sold!

It opened up with quite a strong citrus scent then the cherry started to appear after a few minutes. The cherry continued to strengthen, yet the tangy lemon held its presence.

The Jasmin made short bursts of appearance throughout the morning, but the musk never arrived on me. Just mainly cherry with a backdrop of tangy lemon! It lasted about 5 hours on me and had very good sillage.

The lemon smell is certainly something that I'm not used to in a scent, however I quite liked its odd presence! I'll be using the rest of this bottle (OMG I didn't mention how gorgeous the little apple bottle is - never throwing it out!), then I'll start trying out the other Nina perfumes. I've got a feeling that this one may stay my favorite though.

If you're looking for something that's just a little out of the ordinary, this is the perfume!

aelipo

just cherry jelly

vanillary29

I like this better than the original Nina. This smells more tangy (the berries), boozy and sexy whereas the original one is sweet, fresh and innocent. Nevertheless, both are amazing perfumes but this one is a tad more grown-up. Also, the longevity and sillage are quite good!

Red Rose

I have a sample of this for quite a while now & I just tried it in a tissue & also in my pulse points, I guess taking a sample home is the best idea to try before you buy as many fragrances I buy I don't like them when I bring them home. Anyway, this smells very cheerful & lemony, it's like as if you just got out of a refreshing shower. It becomes quite strong in my skin but not in the tissue I think it's a body chimestry thing. I don't think I may give this another try, I may try l'eau instead & see what happen as this one gave me headach. The bottle looks delicious by the way.
update 24 June :
I tried this again for the second time & also in my skin, smells very sweet, almost like incense like someone else said & it reminds me of some fragrance I smelled before. Too bad as the first opening & the bottle are the best but not the base notes.

KrisTee

The commercial of L'elixir somehow created an impression of a strong fruity fragrant "juice" in a cute beautiful bottle in my mind. However, when I tried it on a few days ago in the fragrance section of a departmental store, I was strongly disappointed. The whole fruity-ness was nowhere to be found and the whole composition was sickeningly sweet. At first, some citrus note may appear, but the dry down is way too early and the fragrance transforms into something completely floral during the process of it. I couldn't smell the berries at all. Rather, the fruit notes are overlapped by the strong floral mid tones and musk base, making it smell like incense. And to some extent, I will say that this a very depthless and happy-go-lucky kind of scent. The angelic sensuality which enticed me at first was completely missing. I am disappointed with L'elixir.

linzilou92

A Lemon Tart with a side of red Gummy Bears. Quite a strong start and then it mellows down and becomes soft musky and sweet yet still quite tart. This was a Blind Buy for me, although I've smelt a lot of other Nina Ricci perfumes sadly I couldn't find a tester anywhere in stores for this one. I read and reread the notes/reviews and said to hell with it!

I have to say I'm so glad I bought it. I'm running out of "everyday wear" perfumes and I needed something that was sweet enough for my tastes but not too young and sickly sweet. This is perfect. It's not too sweet and it's also not something everyones wearing, which makes it unique. I hate wearing a perfume that's so hyped up that everyone and their great aunt wear it.

I disliked the original Nina fragrance due to the Praline note. I know that some reviews state that they can still smell the Praline here but I have to say that thankfully I can't.

Lasting power on me is around 3-5 hours, not too bad. I think many people say that it's terrible just because It softens so much after that first twenty minutes. It's still there though if you pay attention :-)

MaddieClfd

I bought it after briefly smelling it in the shop. I hoped for a stronger, deeper version of Nina.
This fragrance has very little in common with original Nina, original Nina is flirty, playful, charming, Elixir lacks all that. Don't get me wrong, it is still a very nice fragrance, but just not as nice as the 'original'. If Nina was a person, she would a youngish, happy girl without a care in the world. Elixir would be the same girl, but a few years later, with a mortage, car loan, 9-5 job and a lot more down to earth ;)
I'd classify it as a day, even everyday fragrance. Decent lasting power, safe-moderate sillage, that still can get you a few compliments if people get close enough.

Notes: I swear I could smell licorice, but it's not listed? And I mean very prominent. For probably 3 hours I could smell licorice, citrus, berries and suddenly it changed into absolutely goegeous, 'milky', musky scent.

I do enjoy it, I'm glad a finally bought it.

sweet chestnut

The bottle is cute but the scent is too strong for me; very citrus.

KateAnette

A tip: Pair this with the Nina bodylotion. The lotion has an incredibly long lasting scent (even as I use it mixed with unscented bodylotion half- half). The body lotion softens the l'elixir and IMO it tempers down the sweetness a wee bit. The scent of the body lotion is so long lasting, can be used instead of perfume when you can't/ don't want to wear a perfume.

tanpa nama

It was a blind buy. I decided to buy this because i've read many positive reviews of this frag. But i couldn't enjoy it although i've tried very hard. The loud redberries gave me headache. Even when it dried, i still could smell the redberries. Ughhhh.....

ladymillion123456789

very nice and sweet the red berries note is very noticeable and the bottle is gorgeous.

tiktik12

je l'adooorreee !!!!

Aina Harryna

So sweet scent..Suitable to younger lady. Very fresh and sweet like sugar!

fara.idola

I get free vial from my friend. So sweet and make me happy. I want it! This my wishlist.

maddy.knowles

I adore this beyond belief, it is tip-top of my want list. It is so gorgeously sweet, I almost can't bear it. That is exactly how I want my fragrance!

For some reason, the first spray reminds me of the EXACT smell of Willy Wonka's everlasting gobstoppers - sounds like a bad thing but it really isn't. It develops on the skin into a beautiful sweet musk. I've never loved a fragrance as much as this. Definately for fans of something sweet, plenty of my friends are sickened by it!

ecofreak2001

Lovely scent...so feminine & sweet (not cloying...). Very casual; it wares close to the skin, which is perfect for everyday ware. The bottle is sooo cute; nice addition for displaying.

2746cstreet

Sparkling apple, lemon and red berries. I always thought I hated apple scents because of Bath & Body Works Country Apple. If it had been listed in the notes here I never would have bought L'Elixir. This was the first fragrance to show me I could like predominately fruity and sweet scents.

PS
I wonder why toffee apple is not listed in the notes here as it's listed everywhere else?

robororo

Sparkling, mouthwatering scent. Juicy sour caramel apple. In my opinion, one of most delicious fragrances ever! Aaaand I'm buying it tomorrow :D

imurhero

"You smell like a sweet and warm apple"
Since I'm living in tropical country so it suits me best in winter ^^
I just love it <3

georgiaku

I really cannot understand the difference between elixir and original Nina.I prefer the second one.

teilani

This is a very pretty scent. It is sweet without being cloying, has moderate silage and excellent longevity on my skin. I am happy to smell it; the only issue is that red berries are not really me.

So, to those for whom red berries suit, this is likely worth checking out. I suspect it complements a wide variety of people well.

deekay

something about this to me is magic.
something about this beauty lingers in your senses, the sweetness is almost like a fairy tale.
the amount of citrus is just perfect, usually im not a fan. but this just does me in and captivates me.
i feel so beautiful when i wear this one, it always leaves me wanting more...

Fizzy

If you love Nina Ricci Nina, this is more thicker, even a elixier of it. High quality of perfume. I smell wild strawberries or maybe raspberries or cherrys in it, it smells the whole time very fruity and fresh and delicious and sooo good. This perfumes is not only perfume, it makes a statement.

Edit: In hot and humid weather it reminds me somehow on very sweet licorice....

emi

I have finally tried it and I must admit it has not a lot in common with its predecessor - Nina edt. It is a lot thicker, sweeter and heavier without that citrus note at the beginning which balance the sweetness. I also get a hint of almonds here. The apple almost isn't here because toffee has taken it over entirely. I prefer original Nina much more. L'Elixir is not my cup of tea for sure. But the bottle is prettier here.

I'm really glad I didn't buy L'Elixir blindly basing only on the alleged similarity to Nina edt.

emi

You have forgotten to put some notes on the list.

According to Nina Ricci website the actual notes of Nina L'Elixir are:

Top Notes: CALABRIA LEMON, CAIPIRINHA LIME(it must be brasilian coctail)

Heart Notes: RED TOFFEE APPLE, JASMIN, RED BERRIES

Base Notes: AMBER, CEDAR WOOD, COTTON MUSK(whatever this is)

Andreita

On me, this smelled like berry flavored jelly, then, after an hour, a tiiiny hint of musk joined the berries, and it stayed like that for half an hour before disapear. Didn't liked it at all. And for me, it's not like the original nina, at all

HumingbirdHeart

I used to wear the original a LOT and loved it because i was young and its smells young.
Lately ive been getting back into sweet scents (after 2 years of florals) and smelt it again. TOO SWEET!

However i did also get a card spritz of this one and i can PROMISE YOU its better. It smells i think less caramelly, slightly heavier and i think cherryish.

BETTER THEN THE ORIGINAL FOR SURE!

olga87

such a wonderful perfum!!!it's a pity it doesn't last..

Maria111

it makes me smell so YUMMMYY!!

hermyonee

it's pretty much the same as the original, maybe a bit stronger, lasting a bit more, but I can't see any major difference! Apple, citrusy start, fresh; then apple, praline & cedar wood. don't get any berries, thankfully! It's sweet & fruity enough for me! I used it some time ago for a shor time, and when i was pregnant, the citrusy fresh notes were fine at that time, but now it's just too bonbon sweet for me.

sofea25

This scent wears really well on me. The bottle is very cute; an apple shape.
Top Notes: red toffee apple. Middle Notes: Calabria lemon. Base notes: cedar wood.
It just seems to work with my body chemistry. I love everything about it. It lasts, it smells great, the bottle is gorgeous. I fell in love, what can I say?
If you love sweeter scents, give it a try. It's not cotton candy cloyingly sweet, but it does contain sweet top notes that open up to something more. This one should be investigated. I recommend it.<3
I would give this 4/5 stars **** :)

KateAnette

Sweet and delicate, one of the few fruity- florals that i can wear. I don't get much flowers in this, to me it's all about the fruits and berries.
Smells like very sweet candied red apples and cherries. I really like it, just wish it had better staying power. 2- 3 hours on me, which i think is bad for an EdP. Lately i been using sweet perfumes, and i will happily use up my small bottle of this (the bottle is very pretty ). If i don't see an improvement in staying power, probably won't buy again though :(.

EDIT: Longevity is considerably better in colder weather, and not as sweet either as in the summer heat, which is a plus. So a cold weather fragrance it is, and i love it :)

Hairytrees1

Sweet red berries and candied lemon with a musky jasmine backdrop this smells soo good! Beautiful version of Nina.

I sprayed it 8 hours ago on my wrist and it's still there, smelling sweet, so it lasts well :)

Batey2008

Delicate passion in a bottle? A little too delicate for me but many of the brides I photograph use it as their wedding fragrance.

vallzinha

Delicious, sweet, sweet fruity a joke, will bite!

vincy_gal

Just sprayed some on at a drugstore....on a whim. First hit was very sweet and peppery at the same time....I really didn't like it. Now it's been over an hour...and am starting to pick up a slight muskiness which I do like. I gotta say this frag is not linear...it has some complexity and while not exactly my cup of tea, it's actually not bad!

Clefairy

If you're looking for an intensely sweet, fresh, clean fragrance, Nina L'Elixir could be what you're looking for. It is very much like the original, which itself was extraordinarily sweet, but instead of the subtle apple element, it has a subtle candied cherries element instead.

It smells completely edible like freshly iced cakes, topped with candied cherries. This, along with the original Nina fragrance, is the sweetest scent I've smelt where there isn't an out of place note bringing down the fragrance; both fragrances are very well balanced, and the longevity of the fragrances is also most impressive.

Recommended to girly girls and those who adore super sweet scents.

lunageerl88

this is the best scent made on the earth!!!! really love the sweetness and the fruity scent in the bottle, which make I feel 5 years younger. this is the best scent to catch a guy, I had a lot of compliments from the girls and a lot of wink* from cute guys also =p. these scent definitely playful, flirty and really attractive, even to the guy also!

the smell is fruity-apple,no,berries with vanila, but not strong vanila (coz i'm not a fan of vanilla). Its a lot similar to Nina by Nina Ricchi, I don't know why the name is different. This perfume is definitely my favourite and I will wear it everyday. This perfume describe me so well =) and I will stick to it.

Violet Pansy

To me it sounds exactly same like original Nina. But I love it, as it's my type of fragrance.

sarage

I loved the original "apple", but this is even better: a more mature, sophisticated version. Fruity without being too sweet.
I could use this anytime, any season.
And I love the apple shape bottles of this line. I wish I could have all of them :)

gomt

I really am at two minds about this one. At the beginning it's almost unbearably sweet, I can strongly smell candy apples. Then it becomes softer, a little bit less sweet and more fruity: red berries and lemon. And the musk starts to be more noticeble.

The perfume just wraps its way around you with time and the people around too, I guess... I've seen weird looks at the first sniff while I was wearing it, and after a few seconds the person started to like it, just to compliment the smell in the end and ask what is it.

It's very feminine, somewhat sexy and provocative, but without crossing the border of kitsch. And it lasts for hours.

rodolfo

This is better than the original Nina! I mean, the smell is better!
I can't say anything about longevity though, my girlfriend tested this one only once.

ALaM

It reminds me of the Juice Bar Gummi Bear spray I used to wear when I was in 4th and 5th grade. I would've loved this then. Now, almost 23, this is a childish scent to me (as is the Gummi Bear spray...if that's even still around). :/

Aysu

Red fruits & lemon & jasmine are combined so well, it is a perfection..
It is still sweet but not as much as original Nina. Edges of original Nina is now rounded, and while Nina was smelling quite synthetic to me, this one is definitely natural. Only negative part is weak staying power...

EDIT: Ok, not as strong as Nina, but yesterday I generously spritzed it on my skin and clothes in the morning, and in the evening I could still sniff it. Not a great sillage, close to skin, but NOT zero staying power either.

Susanita

My new love! I don´t really like Nina at all... Really. But THIS. Oh my god, heaven! So sweet and so delicious! Yumm!

SS79

With many others, I prefer this one over the original.. I own both and this lasts way longer due to the fact that it is an edp rather than an edt.. still this one is more deeper .. but sometimes, sinc I have the Nina lotion, I will layer the 2 scents.. smells very yummy concidering they smell almost indenticle on my skin!

CherWilliamsr4

I like this better than the original Nina. It has something special to it. Other than being less 'innocent' its more mystifying and rebellious. Love it.

G00D_Girl

IMO this smells soapy and cheep... ick

JingniYeo

I can't stand the smell of this perfume.. Too sickly sweet and reminds me of the anesthesia medicines I inhaled before my surgery... I smelt lots of artificial strawberries and cherries in it! Had to wash my wrists immediately with hand wash 2 times to even PARTIALLY get rid of the scent before it made me vomit.. Lucky I got in in a sample vial.. And I was surprised that there were so many good reviews about this perfume! :(

missk

I prefer Nina L'Elixir over and above the original Nina, although I must say that I unfortunately found the citrus accords a bit much.

This version smells a lot darker and more grown-up. It has a slight berry sourness which is quite intriguing on the skin. I like the richness and the fact that it smells more concentrated, with less focus on the candy sweetness of the original. This composition has more to like with far more personality in my opinion.

If Nina was for sweet young girls, Nina L'Elixir is for the rebels. I identify myself with the bad girls rather than the innocent, so Nina L'Elixir draws me in.

It's quite foody in terms of the sweet, jammy berries and spicy jasmine counteracting with one another to create a delicious and sensual blend. The sharp, tarty lemon accord is the only note that jars with me. It comes and goes, sometimes adding a refreshing, sparkling touch, other times being a nuisance and in my opinion, disrupting the scent pyramid.

The longevity is fairly poor I'm afraid, and the sillage not all that strong either. But from what I can remember, the original Nina wasn't too long lasting either. I am not deterred completely, as from what I've experienced, Nina L'Elixir is pleasantly surprising. I would suggest this fragrance for all seasons and to almost every female regardless of age.

napiergirl

Wanted Nina but i felt it was so similar To Viva La Juicy this would be a more interesting .First off i love it ..just like Nina its a positive ray of sunshine scent.Rich floral start ..then fruity, sour, lemon kinda candy middle , that is nice .. not too childish. On more wrist sniffing the orginal Nina is obvious ...but then changes to a perfect soft balance of lemon , jasmine , orginal Nina ..mmmmmmmmmmmmm love it ..if you like Nina you should try this ...bought blind and no regrets .Cant stop sniffing wrist .
UPDATE.. my 16 year old daughter has fallen in love with this ...it was going to be my christmas pressie to myself but now hers...The things we give up for our kids !!!!

Liina

Except for the shiny citrusy opening I don’t see the resemblance with the original Nina. Nina L’Elixir is much quieter and not so overpowering. It’s more on the sour side to me not only with citrus note but also with the other fruits. Nina is much louder and synthetically sweeter than this. If Nina is too much for you I’d recommend Nina L’Elixir because it’s fresher and easier to wear.

sweet sugar15

Definitely the perfume i got the most compliments with. Stays on my skin the whole day and i can say it is one of my favourites :)

COSMICSCENTS

I tested it today, I was expecting a very intense fragrance but to me smells a lot lighter than the original, actually it is very faint. Smells nice just wish it was stronger!

edit: I can smell it very clear now and it is goood!

andrea.parada ortega

I like the other nina more like this one, because of the praline smell, this one it's too fruity for me :( I would rather have the the other nina smell in edp

tommy_girl

this is much better than original version and to me it's like it's screaming the name of olivier cresp as composer.to me it's like a mixture of nina and light blue, but better than both of them.
actually to me it's all about lemon, from the top notes to the base notes lemon is dominant.sure there is some red fruits(namely red berries) and musk too.it smells delicious enough that makes me somehow hungry!
well,it's not a unique perfume, but it deserves trying both for everyday and romantic occasions.I should add up that the long lasting power is very good on me.

salihah

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS I LITERELY DROWN MYSELF IN THIS AND IT WEARS OF NOT VERY IMPRESSIVE

Killercolours

This one is like a bottled cherry scented kids eraser.

The expensive fancy schmancy part of me dislikes that fact, but the child in me goes nuts. I would definitely miss this one if I lost it. A great one for happy days!

Kittycat63

CzKnight963 - I love both Nina and Nina L'Elixir and to my nose they're almost identical, but I think L'Elixir is just a bit more intense than Nina. Both last for quite a long time on my skin though, despite it being on the dry'ish side and even if I don't have any body lotion on! So, I think either is a good choice because on me they both last for several hours. I really like the bottles too - they're so lovely!!

CzKnight963

can anyone help me? i was thinking to buy the EDT for a long time, then this EDP came out. which is better? cause when i went to department store, the EDP hasn't come out yet so i don't know the smell.. but i've always like the EDT version, but some people say it don't last long.. if EDP has the same smell but last longer, i'd rather buy the L'elixir online..

gsp

It's lovely. I can smell liquorice (and I am quite surprise that nobody mentioned this - is it just me?) and red berries in it . The liquorice smell is even stronger on my skin reminding me of liquorice sweets from my childhood. A playful scent. And I prefer it to Nina.

DaZeD

I bought this for my wife and i love it so much!I love sweet scents for woman especially the really fruity ones, and this one exceeds all expectations, it's an extremely strong scent, when she wears it it overpowers my own perfume all the time, and i don't mind it at all, it's wonderfull!

The bottle design is a perfect match with the scent aswell.

It's a young smell, but would go perfectly for woman in their late 40's aswell.

-Sillage 10/10
-Longevity 11/10
-Scent 10/10

salihah

oh i love this cant stop smelling my myself after spraying it and the bottle is cute

Starlight_Angel

I ADORE this perfume. It's sweet yet fresh, with the lovely scent of jasmine running through it's heart.

For me this is a warm weather scent and that's partly because I don't find the dry down overly musky...it's more fruity with hints of musk.

The combination of berries and citrus makes this one of my "go-to" summer scents for those hot days when I want a perfume that's sweet but not stifling.

I find this edition a little more grown up than the original Nina (which I also love) and so it's more suitable for dates and clubs. It's a perfume suited to those in their 20's and 30's.

This also lasted really well on me...about 6 or 7 hours before it faded totally...and very good sillage (according to those around me).

For me this fragrance is a "must-have". I love it and I highly recommend trying it.

peny

intresting perfume... i prefer it than the original which is a little boring. I think is good for young ladies 20-25 years old.

Andreita

Too much berries for me. I would have rather have the original Nina in eau de parfum version than this smell.

Nyanya

at the very first time, i loved the scent. It sweet and cheerful, but after a month I get bored and missed my Georgio Armani Sensi back..

Radchick

This version is deeper and heavier than the original. The fruits are sweeter and the musk is very strong in the drydown, making this much more sultry and sensual that the first. Considered on its own, it's a nice sexy evening fragrance, but compared to the first Nina, it's lacking the originality and personality of the original version.

alicem

Just got a miniature of this, even better than the original. I'll get a full sized bottle for sure

Nukekubi

I smelled this today, and I found it too deep, dark and creamy on me. Like eating to much desert. I'm sure it smells divine on others, but my skin seems to hate this. Or, not hate - it does in some way embrace the smell - but it gets very, very overpowering on me. And there's a hint there that I do not like. I think it's the red berries mixed with something else. This just smells strange on me. But I can see the potential here - I can imagine how this could smell on someone else with a better result. But the bottle is gorgeous and does, somewhat, suit the scent well. It's very fruity-foody.

nicolette09

This is absolutely delicious!!! It's so deep, creamy and absolutely beautiful. I bought only a 30 ml bottle because it was kind of expensive and I already used 1/3 of the bottle. I save it for special occasions. I will definitely repurchase, it is really delicious and fun. And the bottle is amazing!

orchid_84

I think this is one of the better fruity-florals out there. It's sweet throughout, with a nice lime-lemon note running through the heart and a musky-fresh drydown. It's young, playful, and fun. It doesn't move me enough to consider buying it, but I do appreciate it.

NiteAngel

It's a fruitier/less floral than the original. I'd say "Nina with a lollipop", if you get the image. I really do like it though, especially for fresh spring/summer days.

100perfumes

smell like good red berries ice cream ot yogourt , nice but what should i want to smell like ice-cream...
the bottle is the most beutifull from all version of nina

booandgagamomma

I really went round and round about purchasing the original Nina when it came out. Instead I bought Paris Hilton Heiress and regretted it. I still always have a sniff of Nina at the fragrance counter but I decided it wasn't dark or rich enough for me. *jump to now* I'm at the fragrance part of Boots and I see Nina but in a darker red bottle and with a sexier name...I was quite intrigued. I was actually there visiting and contimplating my new undecided purchase of Gucci Guilty and this one totally sealed the deal for me. It was exactly what was lacking from the original Nina. I absolutely adore it. Plus I got a free lotion AND the bigger bottle for about 25 quid less than Gucci Guilty. WIN!

pinki

I find it much sweeter (the red berry smell is predominant on my skin) than the original Nina, and it is missing that 'airy' quality of the original. I still love it, it is just quite a different twist on the original! Definitely will always have both 'on tap'.

Mad-Lainey

Nothing ''too much'' here...I have an impression that L'Elixir contains the same notes as predescessor. It is just richer and darker. What I can smell in L'Elixir are tarty refreshing lemons (only first 5 minutes) and then subtle jasmine and peony on a smooth praline and crispy apple base.
It is very pleasant and youthful without being too sweet as I cannot detect vanilla and if it shows up - it must be the praline note playing with my nose :-)
Interesting combination of floral notes with distinct apple echo. Smooth and feminine.
Great for office wear as well as casual afternoon.
Longetivity and sillage are acceptable to me.
There is a hint of flower petals as well as little bit of spiciness (at some point I can smell apples with cinnamon) and gentle woodsy notes.
Not girly, not childish, just youthful and cheerful.
I like it a lot! Worth trying!

tinaelisa

I do like it and the lasting power is very decent. But sometimes it smells a little too much like gummy bears/ wine gums and then it makes me nauseous.. I like the original one better.

Kittycat63

I LOVE this perfume!!

I already like Nina perfume and this one is maybe even nicer! Tragically, I don't have a bottle of either of them yet. How sad! When I can I'll either treat myself to one or both of them or, being single, perhaps I'll find myself a lovely boyfriend who will be very generous and 'surprise' me with them! ha, ha!

Anyway, this is a lovely, sweet (not too sweet), berry'ish perfume and I just love it! I tested it on myself and squirted a lot on a tester card over a week ago and I still have the tester card near my computer and can still totally smell this delicious perfume! It smells so lovely and sweet, but sophisticated and classy.

I MUST get a bottle!

lilou

I want this perfume ! It's so sweet and seductive, sophisticated and simple in a same time. Amazing : I had Ricci Ricci and when I tested Nina l'Elixir I found the sweet version of Ricci Ricci. And it's better than other Nina according to me.

nicolemarie

One of the best perfumes ive smelt for ages, its fuity, sexy, warm, loving it xxx

meisha

This is my first Floral Fruity EDP. I was attracted to the beautiful bottle and couldn't stop smelling the scent on the sample strip so I had to get a bottle. My co-worker complimented on how wonderful I smell. I've never been complimented with my other fragrances. Anyways, the smell is so fresh, unique, feminine, soft and intoxicating. Most of all he is not bothered by it because I know he can't stand sweet fragrances and I'm glad this does not have vanilla. I spray it on at 7:30 am and scent lasts til about 4 p.m. (It's winter here)I'm so happy with my purchase so this is a keeper!
Lotion: I got this free and he hated it because it was too strong but I like it so I'll just use it when he's away. The lotion is strong at first but after a few hours the scent softens.

adele l

My god, just tried this on a whim and have to say it may be full bottle worthy! A gourmand dark cherry suitable for adults while remaining completely yummy..the jasmine plays a nuanced supporting role and there is a fresh note underneath- the citrus? Seems to have lots of staying power and sillage as well.

fallingin28

Wearing and testing L'Elixir today. At first spray I get the citrus sweet lemon blast, that starts similar to Le Paradis but is not as sweet. I was surprised when I got a small smell in the background of salty playdough, it was quick but I did smell it!

Where Paradis turns to sweet almond cake with a sweet lemon icing drizzled over top L'Elixir turns to sweet red fruits/berries. I smelt lovely red apple, and cherries (slightly creamy and synthetic, but it isn't a turn off for me) that mixed with sweet jasmine.

The base notes continue with the cherry apple and red berries middle but add musk and vanilla in the dry down.

L'Elixir is sweet and yummy but no where near the sweetness and gourmand of Le Paradis. To me it also reminds me of Radiance by Britney prob because of the red berries. I'll do a side by side and update. UPDATE: Tried side by side with Radiance and the berry note is similar at times, but L'Elixir is more tart, fresh, has more cherry and is less flowery where Radiance is musky floral, and surprisingly more mature.

Overall it's nice, fresh, sweet, very berry and I am enjoying a lot compared to the original Nina. I think this would be better suited to spring/early summer.

nyoka

Such a fresh, sexy fume!I really dont smell the lemon,Just freshness. What I DO however smell is my fav (jasmine),and all kinds of red fruits.Big red shiny (Give to the teacher) apples, mouthwatering! And huge cheeries ,picked from the tree,oh so tart and sweet!IN the background I detect musk floating along for this wonderful ride, adding to the fume a certain sexiness and warmth! THe notes dont change so much throughout but dtay at a (I can smell it myself phase )a long, long time. Not age specific.Anyone could wear but,it is VERY sensual so younger ladies, watch out!
