A really different style of fragrance from this house. As most of the fragrances are more natural smelling and this is a lot more "perfumey". It's a really sweet iris raspberry leather. I feel like the color and design of the bottle is a good visual representation of what it smells like. A bold scent I feel like you should wear with a really dramatic makeup look or a fur coat.

Starlady

She smells like a young elegant witch with long dark hair that resides in a gothic Victorian style mansion. If you've ever watched the movie "The Love Witch", it seems like it would be the signature scent of the main character, Elaine. Elegant, ethereal, hypnotic and intriguing.

There is something so comforting and addicting about the base notes of this fragrance, so much that I often find myself wearing it to bed. Sometimes if I haven't worn it in a few days I will catch it lingering on clothing I've worn, breathe it in and I feel like I'm melting. It's ever so slightly animalic in the most comforting addicting way, like what I'd imagine the pheromones of a beautiful enchanting elegant woman would smell like, mixed with the elegant aromas of her makeup and the luxurious European body lotion that she's wearing.

Oxidia

It has a girly lipsticky vibe. Also, as a patchuli hater, i find this version of patchuli very nice and refreshing, not annoying at all. Very nice plesant well done scent.

Rconectn

I'm a man btw....I purchased this for my wife and she loves it and I love it also. To be honest this is a unisex fragrance and I also wear it. I have gotten complements from my coworkers when I have worn this. The bergamot in the opening is soft and delicate, its not the type of fresh bright citrusy profile you would imagine. The iris note is not the same as say Dior Homme, that lipstick profile, but a powdery smell that is comforting. The base notes are so soothing, something about the patchouli, musk, leather and caramel that bring it to a soft, almost pillowy powdery note that just makes you relax. I win for both my wife and myself.

Moonshine_Strawberries

This is very pretty, but also pretty interesting. It balances those two qualities well. It’s the signature scent of a rich person who can afford to spray it like a body spray, because it’s not very potent after 5 minutes. The iris isn’t a powdery one, and the caramel isn’t the juvenile overly sweet kind. Hours later, it smells like a men’s date night cologne, which is like a fun little secret because I really enjoy it but no one else would ever know.

Il_capitano

For brave babes seeking scents beyond the bounds of their local beauty counters.

Encased in a chic bottle adorned with a playful purple pom-pom, this fragrance whispers Parisian flair! It's a delicate dance of light and sweet aromas, teasing with a subtle whisper of green apples lurking in the backdrop.

As it evolves, it gently morphs into a soft, almost ethereal echo of... inoffensive laundry detergent. Ideal for the recently awakened, avant-garde individual embarking on a quest for their signature aroma, especially if bold, overpowering scents aren't their vibe.

After the initial spritz, it settles into a demure presence, its longevity as understated as its intensity. The scent palette is a mélange of berry notes, intertwined with fruity, sweet, creamy, and jammy undertones.

Absent are the heavy hitters like patchouli, leather, or oakmoss/chypre. No beast mode here, no enigmatic depths. Yet, it stands out as a delightful choice for the nascent scent aficionado or anyone favoring a fragrance that doesn't command the room but rather, graces it with a subtle charm.

It's wise to reserve your hard-earned cash for more adventurous olfactory quests. However, in a pinch, a sample bottle might just serve as an impromptu deodorant or hair spritz.

Celestya

Blackcurrant and iris for a perfume for fall and winter. Original to my opinion, not gourmand but warm and cosy, difficult to describe. It can be a signature scent.

JoyousOne

This smells awful and lasts forever. Its not my scent profile type. It is high quality.

Adjames

I am playing with my sample today. Yes, it reminds me of Bottega Veneta which I love, but I am more drawn to this fragrance. Although it does not have oak moss, it is indeed a chypre - the other ingredients pull it off. Secondly, I love the opening! It is not as astringent as BV is, and the inclusion of more fruit and the caramel, softens it more and makes it more wearable in my opinion. The leather is in the backdrop, and it is not too much. I tried all the other frags in the line up from the Oiseaux group, and I think this may be the one I purchase. I don't care for Nuit et Confidences - that is just a vanilla to me although well done. I don't like the Folie one, because it is too masculine Tabaco for me. I will try the Etoile d'une Nuit, and then make my final choice, but I am quite impressed by this one. I love the patchouli which is producing the oak moss effect in my opinion.

AUyliong

This is a very interesting scent.

Immediately you get blackcurrant but it's not sweet. It's almost tart and sour. Almost. Because right behind it is a creamy caramel that's making the blackcurrant smell multidimensional. There's also a very faint hint of leather - like it's way deep in the background - and it's only there to give the top and heart notes a solid and animalic foundation.

There's also something green and spicy here. Very faint but it smells like the leaf of a spicy plant.

In any case this is very feminine scent. I think this will work for women over 25 but women as young as 20 can rock this if they're adventurous or want to be taken seriously. However longevity is pretty weak.

funeralparty

This perfume is absolutely lovely for fall! It’s girly yet sophisticated, perfect to wear with a mauve sweater and lipstick on a cool day, but could also work for a special occasion. It smells heavenly when sprayed on clothes...there’s just something about the sweetness of the caramel/blackcurrant and coolness of the iris/patchouli!!

ViouAmara

it could be a stunning pileup between my wise elegant and grown up Gris Dior’s transparency and a gluttonous LVEB-patchoupraline style base.
I feel attracted and tortured.

Edit : The attraction wins. The maid has stolen the dress of the countess, she is having fun but keeps her sharp accent and put too much sugar in her glass of wine. That’s all me.

pink gallery gal

Oh wow. My husband nearly fainted. This blew us both away. He just couldn’t stop smelling me. He said this is the best smelling fragrance he ever smelt. I got compliments constantly from everyone I passed after wearing this. My mum who rarely likes any perfume said wow can you get me a bottle of that?

I usually wear fragrance for me but i admit that it’s a bonus when everyone thinks a perfume is as stunning as I do.

I have yet to buy a full bottle. From the tester is It’s beautiful. Once I have a bottle I will expand my review on notes and longevity.

hayjuney

Part fancy, part flirty. Whenever I smell this, I can’t help but imagine a tall elegant woman wearing a fancy ball gown while eating some cotton candy.

Dina France

It's a lovely chypre perfume. I like that Black Currant is stronger then Rose. The base is nicely done with Leather being an occasional ghost (while Rogue has Leather as the main note).

My youtube review of the brand is coming out next month.

I've only tried this fragrance in warm weather so far but even so I've noticed it changes character quite a lot depending on the temperature so I am very excited to try it in the winter. That being said, on me this is a warm sweet and elegant black current and iris scent. I do not detect much patchouli on my skin, which is a shame since I am a huge patchouli lover. It has a slight kick from the leather which makes it quite unique. While I love it on myself, I certainly didn't expect it to become such a huuuge compliment getter as it did. I wore it on the night out with friends and every guy (Tenue de Soiree seems to attract them like flies) commented on my fragrance and even asked me what I was wearing. That almost never happens, most of my friends are quite nose-blind. This is becoming one of my signature scents for sure. The sillage is quite good, not impessed with the longevity though. I can see this being a safe blind buy.

Sheherazad

Purchased the Coffret Découverte set from Goutal. Loved every single scent except this one. But only because I have no idea what this one smells like. It literally disappears seconds after application. Like, completely gone before it's even dry. Have never had this happen before & am flummoxed. Can only experience this scent vicariously thru these reviews...😢

pashaagirl

The first fragrance that gets me compliments. even my dad was asking what I am wearing. He never did that before. It is true that it has Gucci Rush vibes. but it is not identical. not at all. i can easily tell which one Rush is. TDS is beautiful. i will keep wearing it. but i still would buy Rush, too. Rush is a classic and irrepleacable.

laukin911

Smells like jlo Miami glow

laukin911

Too much patchouli! Blind bought others in the line. Thank goodness I got a sample of this. I didn’t like this. Reminds me of dial soap.

MatchaCat

Contrary to what some prior reviews mention, I don't get any powderiness. This one to to me smells like sweet dark red fruit. It's airy and smooth, not grainy, and has that sweet synthetic ingredient that many Macy's perfumes have which makes it project far. But it's not very long-lasting for the price. It's a nice sexy, feminine nighttime scent. However, not a wow factor for me. Also, this smells very similar to Montale's Dark Purple. I think Dark Purple though is stronger.

Smell: 7 out of 10
Longevity: 5 out of 10

For reference, I'm female.

Elienia

I'm not sure what I expected. It's like I spilled an okay-smelling powder everywhere.

Dramaloladiva

This is nice but it reminds me too much of Gris Dior and Bottega Veneta (both of which I own)…If I smell my wrist deeply, it is more of a watered down version of Bottega Veneta…an Iris laced with leather, oakmoss and rose.
So I will enjoy the sample I got and definitely move on.

eaudeaesthetic

To me this purple pompom, is Fruity musky perfumes, I don't really get the powdery and the flowers. Don't get me wrong, it is unique and addictive, there is something classic in a very beautiful way when I sniffed it,I dunno what it is.Im glad add it in my collection

snoopy2

I don’t know what to make of this one. It is so subtle and dry, I almost consider it a freshie. Yet it is still intriguing and low key sexy. The closest thing I’ve smelled to this is Chloe Nomade but this is more refined and airy. It’s not a love but I can see it having it’s place in my collection when I want to be scented but incognito. It’s a pretty, feminine scent but doesn’t stand out.

I will add I purchased from a discounter and I always wonder if I got a bottle that went off or is a fake when I go that route.

ppalm

sickly sweet powder on me. not a fan.

minizelda

This is bomb as hell omg and i LOOOOVE the bottle so much :')

Bluebirdpsyche

LOVE. Easy to wear, but bougie af. Juicy crisp tarty pop of fruitiness with a dreamy ethereal iris and a creamy smooth leather earthy patchouli base, giving a grounded chic airiness. Put together, playful, with a sweet knowing flirtatious wink of caramel… the dry down is a sink your teeth in ediblity. The genius of this composition is it manages to skirt the lines and still maintain a sophisticated breezy easy going flow about it, while also being sexy and intriguing, with a “she a baddie” coolness type shade.

Longevity about 8+, and projects with a personal but more then a skin scent type bubble like aura.

clemmy

Smooth iris, sweet, pleasant, classy and ...sexy! It is a powdery cloud persistent and seductive. Akoyumi said: 'Smells like a young witch strolling through Times Square at night.' what a wonderful, Image! Kudos!! I could not say better !!! but I prefer to think that the young witch is strolling at night in Paris, to give hommage to the Goutal creation! 4/5

mieldoux

not sure if anyone is familiar with voluspa’s bourbon vanille candle but this smells exactly like

akoyumi

Incredible, absolutely incredible. Smells like a young witch strolling through Times Square at night.

Dani83

An absolute stunner of a fragrance smells wonderful and intoxicating in a good way my very glamorous mum she wears this a lot and always gets stopped to ask what she is wearing as it smells gorgeous

Murmur123123

First impression: prominent citrus (much more so than the black currant) and iris powderiness. The woody notes come out after the first 1 hour or so. I cannot pick up much floral notes. The opening citrus+iris reminds me of Shalimar Souffle EDP. I like it and find it a good office/work scent for day time, and it sets itself apart from the typical "feminine floral perfumes" (which I like too!).

SailorV

Dark red fruits, leather, lipstick iris and patchouli.
If Tenue de Soirée had a color, it would be somewhere between burgundy red and purple, so the bottle fits it perfectly. Fragrantica lists black currant as the only fruit note, the official Goutal site says it's red fruits. To me it smells like a mix of berries and plum. The leather and patchouli mixed with a very light hint of caramel give the scent a kind of chewy texture, which I really like. Due to the powdery iris it still feels elegant.
Tenue de Soirée means evening dress, but I don't think this is exclusively a scent for formal evening wear. I could also see it paired with a black leather jacket, a glittery party outfit or even a feminine business look, provided your workplace isn't extremely strict and boring. It's very versatile, as long as the temperatures are cold to mild.

This is not extremely original or unique, the scent profile feels familiar to me. It's definitely similar to Bottega Veneta and Rihanna Rogue. I have tested those years ago, so I'm not 100% sure if Tenue de Soirée really is better or if my tastes just changed a bit, but from what I remember, it seems more sophisticated to me. They all have a structure that recalls Gucci Rush.
This is also somewhat close to my beloved Atelier Silver Iris, with less powder and leather instead.
I could go on, but enough with the comparisons, this is still a lovely scent in its own right.

Guerlinade01

Ok, my young toddler said ''Maman, c'est le meilleure parfum de toute la vie'' (''the best perfum in THE whole life). Enough said.

MagdalenaM07

I haven’t even had it for a whole month and I’ve already used up about 1/4 of the bottle— which never happens! It’s so incredibly beautiful!

Tincel

First thing I thought as it came out of the bottle: "Oooh, hello Angel structure!" I immediately went to check the notes and indeed, there were the Angel "verticals"; the masculine patchouli-musk wrapping itself around the feminine caramel-florals. The funny thing is, my mother wears Angel and her sister wears this one. I shall therefore wear neither and pursue my quest for a less loud fragrance based off of Angel.

bintTapputi

Opens sweet, girly, light and cold. Iris opens the fragrance up into something a little warmer, dry and powdery. Very classy, vintage-esque, with a modern sweet twist. I think this is borrowing from a lot of other things but doing it so well and with some great originality. I'm not normally endeared to these types of fragrances, but I like this one. You kind of get everything with it. Classy and timeless, a little mystery with the patchouli, modern youthful sweetness, and this kind of bad girl dry down. I think it's wonderful. 7/10

Mrose20

When I initially sprayed it, it smelled familiar. I can't place whether it reminds me of Dark Kiss by BBW or Secret Wonderland.... Either way, this is just a gorgeous fragrance. The only thing I worry about with fragrance is its staying power, so if this lasts, I would definitely buy a full size bottle. I think it smells a lot like La Vie Est Belle Oui.

*Updated Review*
-Scored a 100ml tester for a good price.
-Tenue de Soiree is a classy chypre leather scent.
-Jammy with blackcurrant and iris, this fragrance is divinely balanced with leather notes which lend it a mysterious edge.
-Gorgeous biker chick swaps out her regular black leather for a slinky evening dress.
-Tenue de Soiree features a certain edginess that occasionally peeks through from beneath an elegant, classy exterior.
-Overall: Biker chick meets Paris glamour. A scent I never knew I needed until I had it.

-Update: PSA* Do not. I repeat. Do NOT wear this in humid weather. Smells like earwax. I had to sell my bottle because that association put me off entirely.

ingeneuxo

*First Impressions from a paper blotter*
-This manages to be syrupy, sour and soapy all at the same time.
-Leans feminine overall.
-Rather unique creation from the house of Goutal. (-)

adelaidesandrina

Juicier, jammier, sweeter, fruitier and stronger version of gris dior

anikolic

This outstanding scent of blackcurrant wrapped in iris, spiced by patchouly is a perfume I never believed would grow so much on me. The notes aren't the ones I usually reach for and on the first few tries this didn't appeal much to me. The turnaround happened once I put it on before going to bed and waking up to it remaining there, soft and sensual. From my own nose, I never noticed it was sweet, since I usually reach for sweet, oriental perfumes but a fellow fragrance lover pointed it out to me. Tenue de Soiree is a perfume I can reach for in any occasion or weather, universally appropriate, and the picture of it I paint in my mind would be the summer evening with a light breeze, dressed in something elegant, fluttering and also cozy. I'm jealous of anyone standing down the wind from me while wearing it.

Kilian's Adults is somewhat similar to this one, though I prefer Tenue, which appeals better blended and more sophisticated.

WFT321

On paper this isn’t something I’d normally go for, but I was handed a sample when I was shopping in Dubai and knew I had to have it! It’s quite unlike anything in my collection.

The black currant is dominant on my skin, it’s strong but light, slightly spicy, a wee bit fruity, and just totally divine! I prefer scents that are subtle but definitely there, and the silage is perfect. Halfway through my bottle already and would definitely buy another.

mirenaf

I bought it about two years ago. It was raining today and I decided it would be the perfect time to take a walk ... Wonderful perfume. Cold but wonderful. It opens quite clearly with blackcurrants, the iris is also served. Slightly sour at first. The perfume is a classic chypre fragrance - very elegant, feminine, slightly distancing. I personally can only wear it in a special mood, but I adore it, despite our rare meetings.

Таня_х

I am wearing this today, as I got a sample not a long ago, and although the notes seemed promising, this has a lot more patchouli than what I was expecting.
It really is the strongest note on my skin and then I can feel some iris and black currant in the background.
I really dislike the strong note of patchouli, reason why I can’t wear coco mademoiselle and noir for example, but if you like these two, you’ll probably enjoy tenue de soiree as well.

hollandbri

I blind bought this in Paris when it had first come out. This is a very cool night scent. As a lot of fragrances assume night with boozy and spicy, this perfume is the complete opposite. Cold and slightly masculine. In no way am I saying this doesn’t smell feminine, but a man could wear this. I can see where other reviewers are saying it is dated. I totally agree. Like but not love.

Gourmandia_05

This fragrance is so beautiful. I love to wear in cold/cool weather. The initial spray puts me in the mind of a luxurious, concentrated, 80s bath oil, but the dry down is soft, powdery, and feminine. I wore it to dinner a few days ago and my friend told me that I smelled so nice and "expensive". LOL!

samalblooshi

love it

LawmaLlama

This is new to me, but after 2 days of wearing I must say it is an interesting and complex fragrance. I'd describe it as a sour scent, but in a good way! I get sour bergamot plus the jasmine and rose, topped off with a bit of leather. I wasn't sure I'd fall for it at first, but now I love it.

Katou117

I agree with the Rogue comparison, lot cheaper of you want a dupe.

ekowala7

This a rich, slightly dated gorgeousness of a fragrance. This smells like its bottle looks, imagine a really flowy dark purple patterned dress from Anthropologie or Urban Outfitters. It's something that is probably a little basic but it makes you feel like a million bucks.

Longevity is 7-8 hours, silage is moderate.

Overall: 6.5/10

Perfumenut1

This definitely has similarities with Bottega Veneta and Gucci Rush both of which didn't work for me, it also reminds me of a fragrance from the 90's. Good longevity but after I finish my 10ml spray I wont replace.

bel.gravia

Iris, patchouli, caramel, roses and leather.... of course I love it. The notes are so very 'me'.
Tenue de Soiree does not smell different not new. It actually reminds me of Rihanna Rouge and Bottega Venetta signature. Juicy, fruity patchouli. Some leather. It is not worth the price then almost identical Rihanna's perfume retails at 20 pounds.

pearlhart

got a lot more patchouli than i expected, real, earthy patch which i love...

Tenue is a bit sweet, and feels warm I don't know to explain it, but it's well done. i won't buy it or wear it, but it is probably the most sophisticated fruitchouli I have smelled in a long time. I prefer it to something like Mon Paris...this is much more sophisticated and much sexier imo

Bubbles1964

On paper Tenue de Soiree is nice, but on skin it’s a bland, fruity, iris sitting on top of a leather coat. I don’t hate it but I am indifferent. Tenue de Soiree has decent performance but it’s a pass because its a perfume that straddles the middle of the road.

Lovaloo

*Not a chypre, I don't know why it has been classified as one, this is best described as a fruitchouli*

I get a powdery iris & juicy black currant scent off the top. Smells fruity, powdery, feminine, and sweet. As it dries down I pick up on the patchouli, jasmine, & the rose. The iris & black currant linger. After a few hours it fades to a powdery iris scent with more noticeable musk, amber, suede nuances.

Very soft, subtle scent. A perfume in this price range should have some presence, and sadly this one doesn't. The longevity isn't the best either. I can barely smell it after four hours of wear.

salthewitch

I'd been literally foaming at the mouth to possess this after buying a sample on eBay but being devastated to find it'd been watered down (careful folks - I got a refund) So when I got the opportunity to own a gift set, I snapped it up despite the price! I eagerly dressed myself in it, waiting for people to ask 'what's that lovely smell' Nope....On the dry down, there was a note that was so unappealing, nay, offensive, that I literally kept my wrists at arms length waiting for the next notes. It was making me wince. Without it, I'd have adored this perfume; all powdery flowers. My husband had a whiff and said 'oh you smell like an old lady' and hours later, I braved another sniff. The offensive note was still there, so I literally scrubbed myself clean. I'd not harboured such a need for a perfume before so the disappointment was immense. Especially given the price. BAD blind buy.

crossfitqueen

Very nice scent! Little spicy, little powdery, very feminine.

Sharron19

Love it, beautiful, my new favourite!

mimozata

I made a blind purchase because I read the reviews and I was very tempted, but it is a great disappointment. This parfum makes me sick. The combination of patchouli and iris does not tolerate me.

I generally love any perfume with patchouli, I like and iris, but not together.
It looks very much like Sisley Eau de 2 Sisley for women!

IndigoEye

Annick Goutal was my first taste of niche fragrance and I came to feel that this was a house which made for a safe blind buy - everything feels high quality. Goutal has changed a bit since then: the square coloured bottles have gone and the house has tried to release some scents that will appeal to a more modern audience. In my view, there is nothing wrong with that, and Goutal is showing others how to do it in style. Here we have a fruity, slightly sweet, gentle patchouli/suede scent which still smells high quality and is not drowned in candy notes (take note, Guerlain, YSL, Dior et al).
I really like this. I love blackcurrant, iris, rose, leather and a bit of sweetness, but I have smelt plenty of fragrances with these notes that have been just awful, chemical dreck. It is sweeter and fruitier than Bottega Veneta, with a warmer feel, overall. I would not classify it a chypre. It has something of the pillowy, sweet qualities of Shalimar Parfum Initial, without smelling like it. I would definitely buy this.

nic.capone

This is my new favorite perfume for when I want to smell classy and feminine, without being loud or risque. The iris and leather stand out the most for me, especially in cool weather. Warm weather brings out a bit of the black currant, while I hardly detect patchouli at any time. Don't buy this if you're looking for noticeable patchouli. Get this if you love iris and soft, feminine leather. Also I know it's not on the list, but I truly smell woody notes. Not sure how that happened.
Sillage is moderate and longevity is moderate/long- lasting.

bigl4k

Smells very much like Bottega Venetta BV. Very feminine. Lovely !

_christine_

I love this, but it's not a chypre. If you're looking for a traditional chypre with oakmoss and labdanum, then move along to other fragrances.

If you're looking for a powdery floral with some mild fruit, then this is perfect. The blackcurrant gives this a lovely top, but it dries down to a powdery iris with a depth of suede and musk.

I like this a lot. It's a bit sweeter and fruitier than I normally enjoy, but it's so well blended that I find it appealing.

Is it truly tenue de soirée (evening wear)? No, it's not that formal or elegant. But it is lovely in its own sweet, dusky way.

senteur

This is such a peaceful fragrance, but sexy and girly at the same time. I LOVE the iris powdery note. So elegant!

mohsen95

woodnymph

It's very long-lasting and well-blended, but not something unique. It's a playful berry-fruitchouli that might be a bit nauseating in the warmer months. Of recently, I think Annick Goutal is trying to attract younger audiences.

gtabasso

In the top this is ALL about the black currant! This is a fruity fragrance out of the gate with an underlying powdery element. A fruity floral. Unimpressive for the price. But as the currant tones down and you see the nuances of the powdery iris playing with the musk and patch. Then, you start looking for the leather. Looking. Searching. But, still the currant steals the show in the top and middle. Then, then, wait for it. The sweet fruit gets a little more tart and sharp. It almost has this rhubarb quality to it. But, down through the middle into the base, this is a fruit fragrance, not a chypre. No oakmoss to be seen. I keep hoping for something to offset the fruit but I don't get it. Basically, fruit, patch and iris powder but the powder lurks. It's not a powdery fragrance. The closest comparison? A powdery version of La Petite Robe Noire.

tneequeenie

This fragrance is very well blended and beautiful!I read the reviews and I agree that initially it bears a resemblance to Gucci Rush but that quickly changes. I get patchouli and leather and a subtle sweetness, more akin to Rogue by Rhianna. I think this is subtle and sophisticated and for a Goutal surprisingly long lasting.

eliego7

Am I the only one who thinks this smells a lot like Gucci Rush? I was very surprised when I smelled it, I think it's very far from Annick Goutal's line style. It's ok, but since I already own Gucci Rush, I don't feel the need to own this one.

shushkin

It's not bad at all. I knew it reminded me of another scent on the first sniff. Yves Rocher Iris Noir but I prefer this as not quite so cold from the iris and a touch sweeter. A big hit of patch, something spicey and oakmoss are very evident on the drydown. Yes, it's a chypre alright. I find it quite a simple fragrance considering it is an AG creation. I would wear this when going out in the evening.
Moderate sillage and above average longevity.

gelo999

Fragrance of modern cut and languid achiprada.

Tenue de Soiree is a fruitchouly iris that starts already with a flashing aroma of very streaked iris that turns as it evolves: as with berries, fruity, sweet and creamy for what a good amount of Evernil (canned or oakmoss ) And a musk cocktail are noted.

The patchouli is not very noticeable and the assembly of this arrangement pulls more towards the sweet touch, like chocolates and clean musk.

It is curious, but the fragrance starts rather soft and as it evolves towards drying it is gaining more body and strength.

The aroma is fine and elegant, but as aroma is not that it brings much novelty.

The fragrance revolves more towards the feminine side but I also find a unisex potential of nocturnal character.

I'm very sorry that Annick Goutal is no longer with us. I don't think that she would be impressed with this fragrance. It is a very modern and uncomplicated fragrance and not for women who appreciate something unique and different. There is no mystery to this one and I fail to find it "Sexy" as some women have expressed. Does this reflect the sensuality of young women today?Flat and dull? I find it to be overly priced for the quality.

Out of the 100+ perfume samples I have gotten in the last few months, this is one of my favorites and one I'm actually thinking of buying a full bottle of when I go to Lucky Scent's actual store.

It's not heavy or overbearing, not too sweet, and is in fact very comforting to me. There have been days where everything's gone wrong, and I've said "Enough!" and climbed into bed hours early with a book and this perfume on me for comfort's sake.

It's a very beautiful, high quality perfume.

Marlies wrote the note pyramid. What I really get out of this is a lot of iris all along the way (and it is very true and lovely), some wild berries and discrete patchouli. The first phase is very sweet - praline? but it fades within an hour, which is good because I am not fond of sweet perfumes. All in one it makes the impression of a floral gourmand warm and fine. No harshness, all notes are wonderfully blended. It's not for summer (just colder days) and it would make rather a night scent but that's your choice.
It is a very elegant stylish and sexy scent and it is the first perfume with a gourmand edge that pleases me.

Tested this one a few times. I think it smells like Gucci Rush. Note that other reviews get the same vibe. If you can't get Gucci Rush then this is the next best thing.

The first thing I thought when i smelt this was "sexy"
It smells sexy, expensive and attention grabbing
There is definitely plum in this and possibly some other sour fruit.
If you found bottega and rihanna rogue too leathery I highly recommend you try this. To me its so similar except no leather and a little less patchouli.
I did notice a funny note in this that smells cold and creamy, guessing its the iris? I love it.

Tenue de Soiree was a fragrance that had to grow on me before I could fully appreciate its scent. It's unlike anything else from the Annick Goutal brand and a lot more subtle than I'm accustomed to.

When I first sprayed Tenue de Soiree I found it so subtle that I experienced moments of anosmia. Luckily I smelt a touch of musty floral notes after a few minutes that encouraged me to keep sniffing and keep my coffee beans close at hand to occasionally clear my senses.

Annick Goutal promotes Tenue de Soiree as a contemporary chypre, and that it most certainly is. Chypres are in my opinion an acquired taste, so I don't readily expect that Tenue de Soiree will appeal to everyone.

Tenue de Soiree is a very elegant, mature fragrance to my nose with dominant notes of musky patchouli, earthy iris, something fruity and luscious (possibly peach) and soapy musk. The more I smell this fragrance the more I am captivated by it.

I am perhaps the only one that doesn't particularly like the packaging nor the silly pompom that gets in the way of the sprayer. But then again, it is quite an eye-catcher and will be a popular one in-stores for this reason alone.

I look forward to testing Tenue de Soiree some more. It's unfortunately not a fragrance that can be understood by wearing it once. I will give it a few thorough wearings before I decide to add it to my collection.

I don't think this is Chypre type fragrance. Very sweet fruity gourmand.

A colleague tested this today during our lunch break. On her it reminds me of a mix of Rihanna Rogue, Bottega Veneta and Gucci Rush - but underlined with a fresh patchouli that lifts the whole composition. It becomes neither too powdery nor dusty or sweet. A nice addition to this portfolio as others have noted as well :)

I really like this one, and I am usually not a fan of fruity scents! The opening is quite fruity with berries. The first minutes it reminded me of YSL Parisienne and the first Guerlain la Petite Robe noire, only better!

It's not really original, but it's very, very pleasing!

A delightful and unusual offering from Annick Goutal. A left of centre fruitchouli without the afterburner which usually comes with this combo. But soft, what grey light through yonder window breaks? It is Iris, that fey, wan, Ophelia, daughter of Polonius, drifting, singing songs, yet not damp, not even moist. How can this be? How can it be that something so juicy (I smell pear, peach and blackcurrant) can be dry, like an extremely well made martini, and leave me, not shaken, but stirred, clinking with the cold, cold, icy greyness of Iris? I was skeptical, given the combination of Iris and Patchouli, but the patch is imperceptible, so skillfully has it been crafted to buttress, temper and at the same time expand such a cool fragrance. It took a good 12 hours to sidelong glance it's way into my affection, and I'm very pleased to give it the thumbs up.

According to the colognoisseur website the notes are,
berries
pear
orris
violet
freesia
patchouli
low-atranol oakmoss
The finishing touch is a sweet praline accord

I haven't smelled it yet, but maybe this helps someone.

This is such a pretty classy scent!! On first spray I thought it smelled delicious!! It has an elixir quality, it is kind of sweet, with a warm patchouli vibe, I usually worry about patchouli in perfumes, but this is so well blended in...it has a nice warm grown up vibe...it is elegant, stylish, very much femme...the iris is buttery, but lightly, rounded, the scent is all feminine, and enveloping,..this isn't in your face, it is refined, and with style!! I like that creation, the bottle is femme fatale, the scent is just lovely, warm, will be perfect in winter..it is a bit powdery but so lightly...it seems to really open up nicely and I get whiffs of a great smelling perfume!! It doesn't turn too sweet in my opinion,, it just stays close to the skin, warm, also fresh , and with a definite chypre base..Lovely!!

The opening of Annick Goutal Tenue de Soirée has a sort of yeasty/alcoholic aspect of iris, but there's nothing rooty nor earthy in sight. As the fragrance gets warmed up on my skin after about 10 minutes, the violet aspect of iris and the patchouli meld together and bring out a sweet plum accord. At the same time, the texture of the iris is creamy, even a bit waxy at times, which makes me think of a fruity-flavoured lipstick rather than powder puff on a boudoir.

The Annick Goutal website describes Tenue de Soirée as a sweet and contemporary "chypre", and it indeed is so, because the fragrance becomes sweeter and sweeter as it dries down, and the plum also becomes less tart and more sugary, until it finally transforms into a cloying raspberry. I suspect there's also some tuberose/ylang-ylang at play, which amplify the sugary aspect of the fragrance. The overall effect is not dissimilar to a lot of popular gourmand fruitchouli on the market, albeit slightly smoother and more rounded thanks to the creamy iris.

There isn't any significant transformation afterwards, except the spicy aspect of patchouli becomes a little bit more percevable as the sweetness finally calms down. The sillage is relatively close, and the longevity is around 10 hours.

I find Tenue de Soirée more enjoyable than a few saccharine fruitchouli. Thanks to its velvety iris, it feels more polished and less invasive than certain sugar bombs. But overall, I'm still very disappointed with Tenue de Soirée. Once it reaches its plum/raspberry creamy fruitchouli phase, it becomes very monotonous. I can hardly detect any nuance whatsoever. Combined with a big dose of sugar, the scent is very tiring to my nose and my interest as well. Moreover, I find it lacks the retro elegance and the whim in a lot of AG's offerings. I probably would never think of Annick Goutal when smelling Tenue de Soirée blind.

I would recommend it to those who are interested in a fruity lipstick fragrance or a smoother gourmand fruitchouli fragrance. But if you are fan of AG's early offerings, I would suggest keeping in mind that there might be a significant change of style.

A beautiful scent! I tried this today at Annick Goutal NYC, where they are pre-selling for bottles that arrive in two weeks. I bought it on the spot, which I never do! This is the kind of fragrance that has people saying "you smell so good" rather than "what perfume are you wearing"? It is soft and powdery, spicy and warm. There is nothing sharp about it. It is also long lasting; two spritzes lasted about 5-6 hours, with slight sillage.

If I had known it had patchouli I would not have tried it; I'm glad I didn't know! I do not care for patchouli, but this smells different than popular patch fragrances.... I do not usually like iris much either, so this must have many other notes as well. When I got into the cab I had waiting for me, the driver even commented on the fragrance! I actually had three people tell me how great I smelled today. I'm glad my husband was one of them! I'm thrilled with the fragrance. Now if only they would change the bottle and that (removable!) bizarre purple puff-ball; I prefer the vintage looking bottles with the ribbon and card on them.

Update: This is now in stock at Annick Goutal on Bleeker Street in NYC. Call to order or go by to try it; they are super friendly!
