Miss Dior (2012) by Dior is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. Miss Dior (2012) was launched in 2012. The nose behind this fragrance is François Demachy. Top note is Italian Mandarin; middle notes are Rose and Egyptian Jasmine; base notes are Patchouli and Musk.

Sometime during 2012 the house of Dior renamed its already reformulated Miss Dior Cherie perfume line (the original Miss Dior Cherie was launched in 2005, the new version came out 2011, and there are also numerous other editions made on the same theme) as Miss Dior (which does not have any similarity with the original Miss Dior edition from 1947).

The fragrance is created for an “elegant and spirited young woman in love.” Naturally romantic, Miss Dior inspires an intensive and playful love. She personifies the spontaneous joie de vivre of today’s young women. The fragrance represents freedom and seduction, characterized by an instant and captivating charm.

The composition is a chypre that develops step by step. It glides from the sharp charm of a fresh, fruity, citrus prelude into blossoming floral notes, then on to the noble elegance of patchouli, before finally concluding with musk, the last trace of memory.

Top notes Italian mandarin. Heart: Egyptian jasmine absolute and rose. Base: patchouli and musk.

It is available as 50 and 100 ml eau de Parfum.

This is where my love for Dior started I smelt this from a family friend who had visited our family for a week and when she left this perfume lingered in the room she was using for almost two weeks I had to buy it. This is different I have never smelt anything like this it’s so long lasting , leaves and leave a scent trail . Once again this gem was discontinues this and the Miss Dior EDT 2013 were my favourite Dior perfumes of all time

Why does Dior discontinued loved scents it’s so annoying you may love a perfume and then you find it’s been discontinued.

I still have an empty bottle of this scent from 2016 when I got it for myself. Miss Dior EDP 2012 and Miss Dior 2013 EDT ( signature scent) will always have a special place in my heart and if I were to keep two perfumes for the rest of my life it would be this one and the EDT version 2013

sarrah_92i

If you miss this masterpiece, just try out the new Miss Dior Parfum (2024), it smells almost identical 👍🏻

I was lucky to grab a 150ml bottle of the 2012 version before it got reformulated. I'd say the scent is elegant and classy. Surprisingly it feels mature and masculine, the exact opposite of what Dior tries to market it as. I was wearing it for work and it always made me feel more professional and put together.

CatOwned

This smells quite sweet, but there is some noticeable unfresh or stale smell in the background.

Sophia97

Every time my co-worker wear this fragrance i go out of the room. It's too weirdly strong, do not like this fragrance at all. I'm just here to let everyone know, if they do not like too much of sweetness then don't buy this fragrance. It seriously makes my head hurt.

brandybasisty

This fragrance smells like a good time- maybe too good of a time. The opening is a sexy, juicy fruitchouli that brings me back to clubbing in the 2010's- the drydown smells like waking up the next day, disheveled and sexy but a little unfresh/swampy smelling. It gives me seductive older woman vibes when I wear it, and I don't know if it's my vibe. Very well-made scent though, great performance and a goregous bottle.

Feb/24 update: Something clicked in my brain and I'm now getting a lot of juicy orange with the patch playing a supportive role. Yay!

notfrannie

Another lovely perfume that I got as a gift around 13 years old and therefore can never wear it again.

worldsatanicglamour

I can't describe this scent better than "bad b*tch". wearing this will raise your standards and let others know subconsciously that they need to come correct or stay home! confidence booster x99999 and basically you smell like a multi-million dollar net worth. you will realize you are the hottest girl on your campus/office/grocery store. I wish I just naturally smelled like this from not showering

Mona708

I like this the best out of all the newer Miss Dior scents. The patchouli and citrus help liven up the rose notes. The rose note here has a faint jammy accord that I didn’t notice in the others. Someday, I would like to test out the pre-2000 Miss Dior scents to see how similar they are to this.

JoLeenS80

It starts off with a burst of patchouli then the patchouli takes a back seat and I smell soft jasmine and some fruitiness which I guess is the mandarin

PerfumeUser2023

I managed to fetch a 2012 version.

So, regarding this perfume, it is top notch, that can be used by all age groups (legally mature ones) . The smell is quality, notes transition beautifully, and last just as long as they have to, up until they tell the next ones to take over.
It doesn't fall into the age group category, but rather into the class of the person it wears it.
I swear to Christ, or whatever imaginary stuff you believe into, that this perfume makes you be more civilized, dress better, act better, be more professional.
Projection, way above average. Not lots of sprays needed. And it lasts just enough for you to clock out and go back to your man after a hard day being professional.

Don' t know about the new ones, but if you find an old batch, buy it. I think the speculation makes it impossible for most of us to own it (bought it by luck at a good price, already used, of course) .

This is EXTREMELY generic to me, I've smelt it plenty of times, especially when I was younger and my religious mother forced me to go to church with her, the old uppity ladies in the row in front of us reeked of this and it burned my throat and nose. It might be ok in small doses, but still a generic rose patchouli perfume I've smelt so so many times, along with what I associate this perfume with? Yuck. NO.

ladidamia

Oh I love this version of Miss Dior. Was disappointed when they reformulated it. It’s similar with Coco Mademoiselle but it’s just different. Different character, more cheerful I could say. I prefer Miss Dior than Coco Mademoiselle. I wear both anyway. They reformulation ones were totally different.

Lilah_lilah2023

I was obsessed with this perfume until Blooming Bouquet came out and I decided to use that one instead because it's lighter and less of a patchouli bomb than classic Miss Dior (which by the way also has strong rose, musk and mandarin notes). This should be called Mrs Dior, or Madame Dior, since I think it is a perfume for grown-up and sophisticated ladies. It's deep, strong, assertive and elegant. It is one of the most long lasting perfumes I've ever had and that's a huge plus (if it wasn't for the fact that now that I'm over it I can't bring myself to wear it anymore as I get a headache). Overall a great perfume, it might become boring after a lifetime of wearing it though, which is understandable.

amih29

Patchouli powerhouse. Better than Miss Dior Cherie to my nose; huge longevity, if I use it in the morning I feel it for 12h for sure. I can only wear it in the evening, though, as it's too strong for me at this stage, it's almost wearing itself. I am selling my 100ml back-up bottle, as I don't think I will end up using it - pm if interested.

Lotte_Liese

Until you get a sample of this to test it, you'll never understand what the fuss is all about with this fragrance. Yes, there is patchouli, yes it is earthy, present and unapologetic in its projection and potency, but it is a necessary note in this fragrance. What endears me to this perfume is the sensual play of a quality jasmine note and rose accord. Rose, jasmine and patchouli come together in a way that is stunning. This is signature fragrance worthy.

Pat_Chouli

My longest-running favorite perfume. I haven't dared to write a review for it until now for fear I couldn't articulate how and why I love it. It's what got me into perfumes a decade ago and even after trying hundreds of different frags since then, it hasn't been knocked off first place in my mind. Sure, maybe part of that is for nostalgia and positive scent associations. But every time I go back to Miss Dior 2012 it's like a breath of fresh air. It renews my faith in fragrances again whenever I have to take a month long break after overdoing it with new samples. It sets the perfect tone in my mind: sophistication, romance, warmth, simplicity yet complexity. I've been chasing this feeling the past decade by sampling so many different perfumes but to me it's unmatchable. I won't try to describe the actual scent because I won't do it justice. But it's perfect.

If anyone wants to sell or swap a bottle message me. I'd like a backup.

Sarahlen

I hate this bc I hate it but also bc it ushered in almost a decade of horrible mid range designer dept store scents. To me they all smell the same. It's sad, this and others like it are pure business, no art here, no chances taken, wallflowers that attempt to be all things to all people and so in offensive they actually end up offending anyone with any taste bc they say nothing. A politician capitulating to every niche subculture. Let's take a little bit of floral notes blended with fruity notes blended with musky notes, blended with amber notes and blend into oblivion! They all end up smelling like the sample lady at Macy's the one who smells like all the perfumes mixed together or an airport duty free ( on your way home btw not on your way there)

9112Basbous

i hate it.. very strong and heavy and sweet...it gives headaches sweet in a bad way.
this fragrance must be given to a noisy, playful, rich teenage girl.

Luce23

I hated this perfume when it was first bought for me, around 2015 but when I hit my mid to late thirties I went back to it and the obsession began. There’s no doubt that the patchouli smacks you in the face but the citrusy floral spicy mixture makes this perfume intoxicating. A couple of sprays lasts a long time. The two reformulations are so different I’ll never understand why they didn’t make them additions, for this perfume to be not available to buy anymore is a crime. If anyone has this for sale, please let me know!

DonutT68

Just really disappointing. For how expensive it is it smells like a weak flower. Not offensive or bad though just weak and one dimensional.

erika.isme.98

This smelled fantastic on a patient I checked in to the medical office I work at. I didn't think I'd be a fan but on her? It was great!

marialena888m

This was the dullest version of Miss Dior, the future reformulations aren’t that much better (the most recent formulation is the worst). They took the whimsical genius that is Miss Dior Cherie, removed all the happy notes that made her unique and special (popcorn, strawberry, caramel, etc), and turned her into a confused Coco Mademoiselle wannabe. I’m not a fan of CM, but atleast it has character. I wish Dior would just bring back their 2005 masterpiece.

Daisv

The Patch is flavorful but a little spicier than Mademoiselle. I hate to sound redundant but both Fragrances have the overall same allure (red citrus, and Patchouli). Miss Dior seems a tad bit softer! I have yet to get any other note.
It's pretty.

Ironically...
Miss Dior (2012) by Dior is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. Miss Dior (2012) was launched in 2012. Sibling of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, heavy patchouli.

This is a princess and well mannered woman perfume, suitable for any age. I find it fit my personal branding in all occasions. At least, this is the type of lady i wish myself to be.

AquaBaby5

This was my second ever signature scent. I started wearing Coco Madamoiselle intense in about 2019 and I think that it is similar but with added vanilla (still it’s more similar to 2012 than 2017). I think the big difference for me is this is fruitier but also the patchouli is just scratchier. I think the Chanel is my preference these days. The mid is my favorite part of this fragrance, first couple hours after initial dry down.

chakukan

beautiful scent, ,ore sophisticated than the other Miss Dior I own.

cherrytarte

Miss Dior (2012) is my original signature scent, the first perfume I picked up and then didn't put down for several years. It's a bit richer and deeper than Miss Dior 2017 which is more citrusy and floral, but it's still sweet in a grown up way. While I do think that the 2017 is truly so versatile and can be worn day or night any time of year (so can the 2012 in a lot of ways), I just think the 2012's added richness better suits cooler evenings than hot days for example.

April Update: I love this. I don't think it's as easily appealing as the original Cherie...but over time I've found it addictive. Kon-nos91 over at the Miss Dior Eau de Toilette review page called the EdT "caramelized patchouli", but I would use that to describe the EdP (I used to own that EdT as well and prefer the EdP.) The Mandarin - Jasmine - Patchouli/sandalwood combo creates a caramelized, gourmand effect without being overly vanillic or obviously dessertlike.

I truly wish Dior had kept Cherie EDP as well as this version (call it Miss Dior Sensuelle? Miss Dior Jasmine?) over all the other versions and flankers they created. Specifically the 2012-2013 version of this one.

-------

I recently acquired, from a small local perfume shop, this version. Batch code 3N01 (2013), formulation code 5615/A. [This formula was around even in 2011 "Miss Dior Cherie" bottles; only starting January 2012 did the labels drop 'Cherie' from the name. It is possible though that non-listed ingredients did change from 2011 to 2012/2013.] This perfume is strictly for a woods & patchouli lover--if you don't love them, stay clear! Don't blind buy.

I seek out these older, modern Miss Diors specifically because they aren't filled to the brim with vanilla. I love vanilla in short, small bursts--a vanilla bean dessert; or a hug from a vanilla-perfumed friend. However, I cannot stand heavy vanilla in MY perfumes following me around all day. This is the last of the modern Miss Diors to not suffocate with vanilla. I should have loved Miss Dior EdP from 2017, but it was saturated with vanilla, and curiously NOT advertised as one of the major notes. I mention this because I smell notes here that are likewise not officially listed. For instance, I smell woodiness, and something slightly smoky and tobacco-like in the drydown...could be this particular patchouli...but maybe Dior quietly kept in some of the vetiver from the 2011 listed notes and just didn't want to mention it for 2012. There is also a barely-there trace of something vanillic or tonka in the late drydown...but thankfully not a dominant note at all.

Onto the fragrance. Miss Dior 2012 to me starts off like Coco Mademoiselle but the drydown is quite woody, warm, and masculine. It gives me similar "handsome patchouli-musk" vibes as Angel EdP! Something reminiscent of the body scent of a beautiful, masculine man. Yes, Angel the outrageous gourmand had a tryst with Coco Mlle, and Miss Dior 2012 is the daughter. The sweetness that starts with the mandarin-floral top and middle gives way to an androgynous, woody drydown.

Shout-out to these heavy glass bottles with the frosted houndstooth bottom. For a mass-produced entry-level luxury house perfume, they are one of the prettiest ever. They sit elegantly in one's hand while admiring the play of light and texture along with the metallic bow. I was sad when Dior removed the frosted bottom, too.

MD 2012 is not the sweet, sparkling strawberry champagne from 2005-2009 MDC, but it's still very nice and shows a much clearer 3-phase development from beginning to end.

TillyWave

Wow it's hard to believe that this came out 10 years ago already! Two flankers beyond that, too. I guess MD is a representation of the way the world is right now, the perfume world anyway. One comes out, and on with the next.

I like-love this. It's something I enjoy wearing MD2012, the scent makes me very happy when I wear it, but I only wear it on occasion. I've had this bottle for almost 10 years and I've only gone through about 20% of it. Well--that's okay, since it's discontinued that means that I'll probably never run out of it if I'm only using 20 ml every decade--I have 4 decades to go, if I live that long. Perfume usage in human years lol.

Anyway, the scent--it really is one of those neo-chypres--a bright suffusive orange top for the citrus, roses and jasmine for the floral heart, and a patchouli base for the woody drydown sans oakmoss of course. It's really indicative of the time, and for some that may make it a little dated. It doesn't smell just like Coco Mademoiselle, but it has the same perfume structure.

Me, I love it--the rose is fruity without being artificially sweet and being draped over with the topnotes it smells like a collection of strawberries, oranges, and roses. When it dries down a bit the jasmine becomes stronger and fuses solidly with the patchouli. Now--it seems that patchouli in 2022 is more of a "masculine" note--women aren't supposed to smell of the woods, after all, I'm guessing--and many hours later after the flowers depart you are left with a solid bed of woody patchouli on your skin. I rather like that--it's sweeter and floral on the top and dries down completely differently. Plus it's missing that noxious, sticky ambroxan base--I'm tired of that.

Like I said my bottle is a decade old now and it smells and fresh and vibrant as the day I first got it. I like this enough and it's lasted so well that I haven't been tempted by any of the recent MD flankers except Rose n Roses. Why they don't keep these in rotation and just denote them by the year or some thing is beyond me. I mean how crazy would people go for the 2005 version? It'd be one of their best sellers.

Nora Gad

it's so masculine for me ,Yes it's similar to Coco Mademoiselle but the dry down is differnt and givs me woody vibes which smells so masculine

Kimpam

I can't smell any citrus sadly, just powdery sweet flowers. Not for me, definitely not my style (too mature and serious). There is also a medicinal scent in the background. To make things worse, smelling this made me nauseous and a headache started creeping in, but to be fair I do suffer from migraines and I am sensitive to many scents, but I love perfume so I continue taking risks to find ones that are magical. This was no magical.

Forbiddenjade

Just really flabbergasted... this ain't even close to Coco Mademoiselle!
Can't understand what those who voted that may have ever smelled...
Have they really smelled this? Frankly, doesn't seem they did...

Cataddicted

It’s hard to review this perfume. It is very different in my opinion than some of the other miss Dior scents. I think that is the patchouli and the citrus and woody notes that makes it so different and quite unexpected as opposed to some of the other miss Dior fragrances. I’m not usually a big florals person, so this is why I was to surprised at this one, expecting it to be very flowery. It still does have somewhat of a floral scent, but it’s got a variety of different notes that make it so different. It’s not a love, but it’s definitely a like.

And the bottle, just adorable!

prizcandy

This is pure class. But zero snobby, it's just effortlessly elegant.
My first Miss Dior was a gift for my sister and I, around 2014/15 I guess. I loved it. Years passed and we got another one but it was different, the 2017 version. And that was great too but I missed this, even tho I don't know if I remembered it right, it was a long time ago!
I got my hands on this again today, I bought a 150 and a 30ml to stock up. Definitely will get the other version soon.
It's so crazy for me how your mind can miss a smell that you can't even remember but I think this is the statement of an era and that is what I wanted again.

Update: I'll let the batch codes in case someone can use them as guide ;)

The 30ml bottle ended up being the 2017 version. Batch code is:

Miss Dior is one of the pillars of the Dior house, since the launch of the first one in 1947, Dior broke the mold and launched a perfume that redefined a generation of women in times of the (post)Second World War, it is good to remember the past and even enjoy it, What I do not see as valid is to destroy with so much criticism the work of an excellent perfumer like Demachy, who, working under the orders of the house (they have to adapt to the times that ran and run) and after the success of Christine Nagel with Miss Dior Cherie (my favorite of all the Miss Dior) and second launch of the line in 2005 with an approach to the gourmand, Demanchy was given the task of launching an edp of this same in 2011 and I do not know if by IFRA regulations or under the orders of the house he unified the Miss Dior line by launching an "edt originale" for the nostalgic, an edt and this edp that although not cherie without a doubt remembers it.
This Miss Dior edp 2012 version features that musk-rose-patchouli combo so used (and fashionable by Coco Mademoiselle) in previous years.
Certainly the opening of this perfume reminds Coco Mademoiselle for that soft, powdery and musky patchouli accompanied here by a juicy and sweet Sicilian mandarin, this start is cheerful fresh and denotes class from its first seconds, after almost 40 minutes or an hour a fruity note comes out and reminds me of something (of the Cherie that I miss so much) that playful strawberry slightly tangy with juicy rose petals and Egyptian jasmin that in its middle stage absolutely reign, giving way in drydown to that classic aroma that even recalls past glories of the house.
This creation was wonderful but once again it has been reformulated in 2017 and I have not yet tried its new scent, maybe I will miss this one in a few years as I miss Miss Dior Cherie or I just adapted to the times.
Pd: I did this review a few months ago so we already have a new Miss Dior 2021 that replaces the 2017 formulation that as I understand it was sweeter than the 2012 one, we just have to wait and see what happens. I do not know if I get to try 2017 or maybe I just miss this 2012 because I know that the new release is quite different.

SunnySucc

Floral, sweet in a citrusy way. This smells juvenile but in an extremely elegant way. The bottle is simply adorable! This fragrance also reminds me of a friend who is young, glamorous and beautiful, this was her signature scent.

Tsatsenskaya

I am wearing this beauty today and just felt like sharing some love. I have come to accept that I will never repurchase this because it has been discontinued. My 50 ml is still going strong though. It's gorgeous.

Scentedalterego

Out of all the Miss Diors, this and Le Parfum is the most elegant choice (I happen to have them all except for the 2021).

While the others are more flirty, cheeky and playful, this is more luxurious, ladylike while still charming and delicious. For me this is therefore the most versatile choice, and my favorite. I prefer this over the original Chérie. Lasts an entire day with good projection. Usually it gets me compliments.

Compared to Coco Mademoiselle this is stronger on the sweet orange and jasmine, while Coco Mademoiselle focuses more on the fresh citrus and patchouli. Patchouli is in Miss Dior 2012, too, but it is not the clean and very present Chanel patchouli.

I love this so much I have backups. For those wondering how to differentiate this from the 2017 version; the 2012 (and all versions before) has a matte pied-de-poule pattern on the bottom while the 2017 Miss Dior has ribbed clear pied-the-poule bottom. Bows are identical.

Forbiddenjade

I was wearing earlier on Vanille Rouge of Versace (amazing btw!!!) but had a shower and so decided to swap with another fragrance. This came to my hand easily.

Two words can describe it: effortless sophistication - which in French would translate in Très Chic... Voila'! :D

alejbvf

I’ve always been so amazed by this fragrance. Beautiful.

rqqq

The sweet and warm scent makes me happy. The projection makes me feel surrounded and secure. I even love wearing it to bed...
I don't know what's inside that changes my mood. Someone, please tell me. I can't get enough of such perfume therapies.

AveParfum

I bought Miss Dior Cherie when it first came out because I was enamored with the strawberry. I have had a mini of this newer version for a few years, and I finally decided to dab some on, and much to my surprise and enjoyment the strawberry note is still totally there! I can understand the comparisons to Coco Mademoiselle, but this Miss Dior is less sugary, more ambery, less citrusy. I would have described the original MDC as "fresh", but this version of Miss Dior is deeper and a bit darker, as if it were an intense flanker of the original.

With the original MDC, I smelled the strawberry up-front. It was really centered around strawberry. With this newer EDP, I smell the patchouli and amber first, and notes of rose and strawberry very quickly join in. So the strawberry is not as strong up-front. I really love it, I think better than the original MDC.

Lalouve<3

I was lucky enough to have just found the 2012 version (a 100ml bottle in a local store and a last 150ml bottle in an online store - ironically I paid less for the 150ml bottle, btw...).Anyway, this one is more refined and more classy-old school smelling than the 2017 version. They both share the same dna, however the difference when you smell them is quite noticeable.

This older version, however, turns so amazing in cold weather, so beautiful and powdery-yummy but in a sophisticated way...The funny thing is, that if you spray it in warmer weather or when you first spray it on the skin, you most certainly not expect that aspect. It is as if it transforms - never have I been that surprised by a perfume. Nothing in its initial notes prepares you for that transformation.

For those wondering which version they have, apart from checking the batch code, I'll let you in on a couple of little secrets: the outline in the front of the box as well as the smaller one where it says Miss Dior, is slightly goldish on the 2017 version, and completely silver on the old one. But the biggest tell is, the older 2012 version has the notes written on the back of the box (look especially for that Egyptian jasmine note that separates it from the newer one). In the early 2012 and on years, the base of the glass bottle is frosted. However I can tell you that from 2015 and on (both my bottle batches are of the 2015 year -which still is the 2012 formulation-) the bottom of the bottle is not frosted, it is exactly as that of the 2017 formulation.I do not know if that small change in bottles began in 2015 or even 2014, but I do know that 2012 and 2013 bottles have that frosted pattern bottom. Hope that helps! ;)

natasha28

Review is for my own reference - I don't know if this is the 2012 or 2017 version (in 2021 I bought a bottle made in 2019 on eBay). This was a blind buy and unfortunately, I don't like it. I wanted to like it really bad, because I absolutely LOVE MD Absolutely Blooming after blind buying that and I remember liking the OG Miss Dior Cherie. I only paid $100 for a 100ml bottle so I got an okay deal. The opening smells like a vintage old lady scent. In the middle, there is a nice peppery scent, but not good enough to love the perfume. Then the dry-down is too earthy smoky smelling, it reminds me of a Kenzo scent that has a 'meaty' smell that I can't tell if I like or dislike. I wish it was sweeter and fresh smelling. Sillage is arm-length and it lasts a very long time at about 12+ hours. I don't like it enough to keep so I will be selling it.

39SUMMERS

I really wanted to love it. But I like it. On me I smell a lot of the floral scent and patchouli. It is a smidge too floral than what I usually wear but I still like it

Carina98

Sampled this when my mum was trying to choose a perfume for herself. I have to say it is lovely and so feminine. Grown up without being old lady. I would steal this from my mum if she end up buying it. So soft and elegant, a classic everyday scent for sure.

Sonyakaroliinaq

I thought i was getting the 2017 version (which i love) but i realised that i bought the 2012 version!
I mean it's nice, but very different from the 2017 version. This smells more mature and i guess also more elegant. Maybe not my favorite but i'm still gonna keep it, i have to wear it more to see what i really think.

MimesOtto

classy timeless elegant perfume..I find it alluring and intoxicating albeit being tame and classy. You have to like Patchouli though..those who like Coco Mademoiselle will most likely love Miss Dior..It's been my fav. for many years, good performance, worth every penny!

iverson_lyon

I’ve had it for many years and recently it smells a bit weird.. can perfumes expire? I imagine so, happened with Tresor La nuit.
But before that it smelled too “good girl” for my taste ( probably the reason why it stayed full for that long to expire). It’s a “correct” smell, has no contradictions, a bit innocent, for always doing everything right kind of woman. I’d imagine it being warn for a wedding. Overall not bad at all, but guess I’m a bit more rock n roll.

amandavolpe

When I worked at a 9 to 5 office this was my go-to scent. It’s classy and pleasant, and will hardly offend any noses.

Perfumepusher

it’s such a dilemma when your favorite perfume gets reformulated because you have this one left half full bottle you want to keep, and eventually it Will turn sour after some years.. it’s turn against sour has started now - should i use it up before it turns completely unbearable and never be able to wear her again, or should i keep the juice forever and only get to smell a sour version of my all time favorite? Although i see some similarities between miss Dior 2012 and Coco, it’s just not the same perfume. Biggest tragedy in perfume history IMO

violacolors

Musky sweet floral.

I love it, although it can be headache-inducing if you put on too much. It feels very feminine and mature, with slight youthfulness. It's not a unique or distinctive scent, but very pretty and overall nice scent.

bel.gravia

I am lucky to own the 2012 version.
Surprisingly I can smell popcorn in here! No strawberry and not that much of a fun juicy scent which was 2005 masterpiece - but I am happy with 2012! How incredible is this perfume? Absolutely worth the hype and the price. It smells way more than its notes suggest. I have smelt so many perfumes with similar notes I have even had dupes of MD. No nothing beats this gorgeous. Alright the 2005 is the best of the best but 2012 comes pretty close. If you like an idea of popcorn and strawberries oh you would love this. I yet need to try the current Miss Dior.

lzak

A patchouli flower bomb which I love. I just got it the 2012 yesterday, actually got 2 bottles and am enjoying it. To me it can be worn at anytime and it is classy and crowd pleasing. I do not like the peppery current version at all.
This one is stronger and more lasting. The new formula disappears on me pretty rapidly. Reformulations never seem to be improvements. This one is beautiful. This is a citrus, patchouli Rose and jasmine and musk. I did find a full bottle of Miss Dior Cherie so I am looking forward to trying it since everyone raves about it.

stefani valini

Beautiful classy fragrance. This scent reminds me the smell of a wooden chest. Its definitly hearty and the patchouli is strong. I love it, its not boring, it has her own caracter.

jero

I Don't Need A Prince By My Side To Be A Princess... Since 2018 there is a perfume called that, I don't care that much, this title goes to my Miss Dior 2012 from the bottom of my heart, it's my sincere compliment since it's so dreaming, living a dream, once I met my princess by this perfume in an ivory high tower, out of the world, now it really belongs to the once-there-was-a-princess catalogue.

I don't need I Don't Need A Prince By My Side To Be A Princess for I know her better, and Mademoiselle is today's office lady calls Coco making a living. End of the story. XX

MagdalenaM

To me this is the more intense La vie est belle. I think Miss is Diors ultimate crowd pleaser. Personally I prefer the pink flanker, but this is a nice floral, warm and inviting, spring scent. I cant say its a special fragrance, but also people really enjoy and like this, Id get compliments on it non stop.

Chippeta

Like a recent comment, I entirely agree that this perfume has an overpowering note of patchouli in it... unless you love patchouli.

I received Miss Dior as a gift from my sister who had mistakenly thought it was Miss Dior Cherie, a phenomenal perfume I initially owned. A pity that the patchouli is overwhelming, the other notes would have made a good combination.

To be fair, this is not a bad perfume, and is an elegant fragrance well suited to a wider age bracket, but when you've worn Cherie, it is a bit of a let-down.

zoue

I love Miss Dior 2012 so much that since it was reformulated to something TOTALLY different i can't find fragrance that i can call signature scent. Since early 2017 i have the luck to find only 3 overpriced 50 ml bottles but i bought them anyway, because that is how much i love Miss Dior 2012. It mixed perfectly with my chemistry and on me smells heavenly. I was so devastated and i send an email to Dior customer service to let them know what big of a mistake they make☺ 4 years later i feel embarrassed doing this but, why they change the only one fragrance i love.... i have huge collection now, but none of them can compare with my one and only love.💔

Mariana Arias

I bought this thinking it was Miss Dior Cherie. I’ve had this for years now and I’ve barely used it. Patchouli. This smells like an old lady in the worst way possible

Phemia

It took me a few wears to like Miss Dior. It definitely had to grow on me. I think part of it is that it sits just on the line of being too sharp for my liking. I will say, this has to sit on the skin for a little while, about 30mins to an hour before it truly settles into something nicer and softer. Initially it goes on sharp and spicy but after a little time to dry, some amber and the base notes come through. I can smell both the rose and jasmine separately but not in a way that they compete against each other. Once fully settled, the sharpness still hangs around but the floral notes and a hint of vanilla soften it into a slightly powdery scent. It smells expensive and classy, but reminiscent of a department store perfume aisle that gives me generic perfume vibes. Whenever I mention this in reviews though, I like to add that I'm a snob against more readily accessible perfumes that I grew up smelling in every department store across suburbia and I have a preference for indie houses. If it were this or Coco Mademoiselle, I would choose this as Coco reminds me more of a fragrance my mom would wear and Miss Dior feels more appropriate for me and my age (late 20's).

As for longevity, sillage, etc. this has all of the qualities expected for a perfume of its kind. It's quite strong and long lasting, but not heavy. The sillage isn't ridiculous but it definitely makes itself known and depending on how much you spray and how you carry a fragrance, it might be just ever so slightly too much for work or working closely to other people particularly if those people are more fragrance sensitive. Spring, winter, or fall but it might be too much for the summer heat. Day or night, this is a nice transition scent that could take you from brunch to date night.

Edit: I almost forgot to mention, I think my skin might react negatively to this fragrance. Every time I wear it, I notice I get quite itchy wherever it was applied which doesn't happen with any other fragrances. I even went as far as to test this on one wrist and another perfume on the other and the wrist with Miss Dior was the only one I found myself scratching. It's not bad enough that I will get rid of it, but it's enough I want to be mindful of when and how I wear this. I have sensitive skin so I'm sure it's just a me thing, but I did want to point that out.

enquail

A bright citrus and patchouli are the first to hit my nose on the opening, although the rose and jasmine are also present and identifiable. I'd agree with the leading accords of patch, citrus, rose in that order. This is a sweet scent, bringing to mind a candied mandarin with regards to the citrus element. As with most notes in the orange family, I love them as tastes but less so as scents. It is a straightforward interpretation of the listed notes, and if you like patch, mandarin, rose, and sweet scents, you will enjoy this.

scarlettlou

don’t care for it too much, not a favourite or my signature. really wanted to love it but just doesn’t agree with my skin.

Sunkissed

Wore this on and off for a couple years. My mom doesn't like to leave the house without perfuming herself, so she used to leave this bottle in the living room. It was for emergencies in case she was running late and couldn't pick a scent.

Long lasting. Smells pretty, feminine and a little classy... But I don't really care for it. I haven't smelled this Miss Dior in years so I don't remember the details but I think I stopped wearing it because it was too sweet for me.
It also became really popular among people in our circle of friends at the time and lost its remaining magic.
Definitely not a bad scent and I would probably try it again if given the chance and see what current me thinks, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it.

PlanetGrl

I purchased mine on eBay back in 2013 when it was still relatively inexpensive, and I’m so glad I did. It’s still the fragrance strangers compliment the most when I wear it.
Edit: still have a bit left of this, and purchased a 2017 bottle online this week. I don’t know if Dior since changed it but I hope I still like it. Ultimately I can’t tell the difference between 2013 and 2017 versions.

tessture

Very samey but somehow also really pretty in a mall-scent way. I kind of giggled a lot at how mall-girl it smelled on me, but kept sniffing it. I really like it. It's pleasant, easy to wear and breezy casual.

LB1997

This perfume was so good. I really loved the 2012 version. I got so many compliments when wearing it. It makes me sad that I can't buy the 2012 edition anymore.

Serafineste

I have an opened but unused bottle of Miss Dior with a batch code dating it to 2012-1. It was a gift from an ex and I totally forgot about it. It was kept kept cold and dark, so dark that I was amazed when I found it. Is anyone interested in buying it then message me.

Swedelish

I've been on a serious Miss Dior kick lately... Buying up different batches of several variations, each one related but different enough from the last. Knowing what you're getting takes some investigative work, but I feel like a pro now. 2012 Miss Dior is the easiest grab out of the ones I have (Cherie 2005,Cherie 2009, Absolutely Blooming, Le Parfum & this). In this iteration I have a batch from 2012 & one from 2014. Interestingly, I smell the same strawberry that's in MDC 2005 in the 2014 bottle but not in the 2012 one ( to add another layer of confusion). This one makes me feel pretty and polished. Yes, it's similar to Coco Mad EDT, but it's girlier without being foolishly juvenile. Smells like a Dior, of course, and so I prefer it to Coco Mad because I prefer the way Dior blends and their DNA over Chanel. Still, very similar though. Gorgeous.

Kon-nos91

Boy oh boy! Yesterday I had a quite nice day in contrast with what we're living at the moment, the era of stupidity. I never thought I will find easily a bottle of my signature scent. Also, I thought of adding this review in the 'new' Miss Dior's page so that people will see the main differences and get a clearer view, or get jealous.

Who would ever check a page of Miss Dior EDP named as 2012 edition in 2020? I better let my review here to keep this perfume as a secret for the few ones of us out there. Dior used to be my favorite in perfumerie. I could hardly find a not interested perfume of Francois Demachy. The bad news is that I found it out late. I promised to myself and I still keep my promise not to spend again any $ for Dior's perfumes, I mean perfumed waters. Yes, I am not experienced with the private line nor I say there aren't good creations of them in the stores, but many years ago they used to be #1.

So, I've got a bottle of 2015, exposed to the light, from a guy who probably didn't know what he was selling. I had low expectations but after spraying it..oh...sweet memories came immediately on my mind. After so many years and the perfume not only is durable and still the same, but it reminds me how boring and 'colorless' are most of the new releases. We're talking about absolute concentrations of oils and not essences! That caramelized and 'dirty' patchouli in a hug of an orange that never stops radiating, that fizzy champagne that most of you describe, the hidden rose that's not a classic feminine one, the jasmine spicing up the mix, the musk as a last trace of memory, a modern twist of the very first Miss Dior, watching the word from a prism of crystal colored in ambery/orange/gold tones. Even the ad of it captures correctly the feeling. I just can't say how this perfume made me love chypres when I was a gourmande lover. It taught me what quality and class means. This perfume in 2 words is: love & freedom, exactly what I need.

p.s: You don't want me to comment on lasting power & sillage, right? Spraying myself yesterday early in the evening and after 14+ hours it still radiates without being headache inducer.

temporal

Lovely, citrus+flower fragrance. After-bath feeling.

sarrah_92i

Please, where can i find this 2012 version perfume?

ambydawn

I received a small decant of this fragrance in a sample box and just assumed I would hate it because patchouli does not agree with my skin typically, and it's usually all I end up smelling. I also don't really care for Coco Madamoiselle, which it is compared to a lot. However I was pleasantly surprised and I enjoy this very much! It isn't really my style, but for what it is it's very nice. I get a very brief citrusy blast, then spicy rose, then musky patchouli. Smells youthful and innocent, very pretty. I can imagine this being worn at a wedding, or some other dressy occasion where you don't want to smell sexy or bold.

temo

This is like an old friend that I revisit every once in a while and wonder “why in the heck haven’t we kept in touch”!? This one is a life-er for me that always makes me smile. I realize that it has changed and evolved over the years - but hey, who among us hasn’t? ;)

Patricia888

For me patchouli is love or hate, in this version is hate I am afraid. Too much in your face, syrupy sweet, just boring and uninspiring. Love many Dior perfumes, this is just pass.

Adrien02

I believe I've found a Miss Dior Eau de Parfum on Ebay for less than $40. While the front label is missing, the back label is still attached to the bottle and bottle looks like the one shown here minus the ribboned cap. I am pretty confident I have an authentic Dior. . . . . the batch code (3Y01) is etched into the glass.
Information found on check fresh.com:
Batch code 3Y01
INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM THE BATCH CODE
Production date 2013-11
Age 6 years 9 months 4 days
Shelf life 3 (skin care) to 5 years (perfumes and makeup)
Notes the codes are repeated every 10 years
It is a beautiful scent. Classy and easy to wear dressed up or down. and only the second Dior that I currently own. The first being Dior Addict Eau de Parfum), 2012 edition, dark blue glass. I can just make out a hint of the heady sweetness of Dior Addict in this one.

This lightly floralized chypre opens with quick but beautiful breath of just right juicy orange and floral notes (jasmine ??) If rose is there it is completely surrounded by the jasmine flowers. She wafts slowly down into a sweet musk skin scent with just a tad of patchouli. No need to shout, this one is just Lovely.

Aliciaenelespejo

I finally got this 2012 version. I am so happy.
This has similarities with Chanel Coco Madmoiselle but I don´t like that one. The vainilla ruins it for me. I have to recognise that Chanel smells more refined but i find it heavy and migraine inducing while this one is a lot "happier" and mood lifting.

LetsGlowGirls

When I sprayed it on myself I do not liked very much because I live in a place where the weather is hot all the time but I have smelled this perfume on someone in the winter in another country and this is really sophisticate fragrance that embrace. Can be use from 18 years old up to 80 I mean this is that winter only problems in my opinion

CygneNoire

I was hopeful.

I still remember the sample in Vogue I smelled before 2012. I had just started high school and told myself that when I get my first job, this will be the first perfume I get. I kept the carefully ripped page in my room and smelled it constantly, repeatedly watched the Sofia Coppola commercial, and listened to Moi Je Joue every day. Years later, I had developed a passion for perfume and remembered my lovely Miss Dior Cherie. I read that it had since been reformulated but I was hopeful.

Sadly, the one I bought from FragX smells like they just put Guerlain L'Instant (not one of my faves at all) in a Dior bottle and slapped the labeling on it. I'm so disappointed and I feel like I let little me down.

Cinnamonpeelerswife

I like, but can’t quite say I love , this perfume. I know it has been through a lot of confusing iterations, but mine falls solidly in the 2012 lot, so I guess this is it. It does feel like a reformulated classic, adjusted to “modern” (read: nonsmoking) sensibilities. For me, that Has been mostly positive.

This perfume is not terribly complex and seems not to have ambitions toward mystery. It is elegantly executed and precisely correct. The scent unfolds exactly as it said it would.

Miss Dior 2012 opens very, very sweet. Honey-Mandarin held down just a little by the patchouli.

After an hour, the honey-mandarin slides into honey-jasmine, and I am still waiting for the roses, but maybe I can find them a little in the background. The patchouli gets deeper as this perfume opens up.

Yes, there is a passing breath of roses a couple of hours in, and they feel almost green after all that honey. It trails off just as promised, in a warm glow of musk and patchouli.

This perfume has a respectable, but not overwhelming projection. It follows you through the room, but just enough. Miss Dior is a very good girl.

JSpines

I received a sample of this in my order from Sephora. To be honest, I had a preconceived notion that I wasn't going to like it all that much for some reason. To my surprise and delight, I loved it! It's soft, smooth, understated, warm, unique and sophisticated. Very beautiful indeed! I already have a bottle of the 2011 Miss Dior Cherie and haven't even tried it yet. From what I gather it's a little sweeter than this, having the additional note of strawberry. I'm not sure if I will like it any better than this one or not. Nonetheless, I would not hesitate to buy a full bottle of this. I find this version easily unisex and a man would have no trouble at all pulling it off. One of the best newer scents I've tried in awhile!

Lauren19

Pretty, classic and wearable for any age. I was initially worried about the patchouli but it is not overwhelming. I think this is the best version, certainly better than its flankers which I find to be too light and all too similar.

codymarieb

I absolutely LOVE this fragrance as a go-to classy, elegant daytime scent that works in almost any occasion. Pairs perfectly with a nice dress and heels.

It is so feminine, so pretty, so unoffensive, so classy.

Sweet, patchouli, floral, lovely. I think it's probably the classiest of the perfumes I own. I wear this when I want to smell put together and upper class, but still feminine and sweet.

It's simply gorgeous and classy. I give this fragrance a 10/10.

Nataliemarie

I have a bottle w/ the batch code of the 2015 version. I am going to assume it is the 2012 rendition. But how can I be sure? Dior, can you POSSIBLY confuse people ANY MORE than you already have???? I mean seriously wtf is your problem? NO MATTER how good the scent is..the confusion alone is a turn off & makes me NEVER want to purchase from you again. I'm just done w/ you after this.

AMH19

This is great for a teenage girl getting her first perfume, a woman in her 20’s, or your wife of any age. It’s a patchouli fragrance with great floral and citrus hints that make it a fun and playful fragrance to wear.

Elle Woods

Does anyone know why the silver bow of the bottle looses it's colour??? It happens the same with Miss Dior Cherie.

vivos

Guys try victorias secret dream angel !! It reminds me of miss dior !

Juryiah

I had this long ago. Bottle is super pretty, the scent is meh. It's not that bad but everytime I sprayed it I got a little bit disappointed that the scent wasn't as great as the bottle or name. Honestly, there's nothing special about it.

AquaBaby5

This was my signature in my teenage years along with Flowerbomb, I got them regularly for Christmas. This one was the classier side of me I guess, I loved both equally. I still have a bottle of this as I can’t let it go after being discontinued, but it is not my favorite anymore. I prefer a fresher brighter rose, or a deeper patchouli these days.

Edit 4-22-21: I sold my half full 50ml bottle with a 2014 batch code about a year ago after deciding to wear Coco Mademoiselle Intense instead, but I found a 2015 100ml bottle for a really good price and I was recently in the mood to wear a rose patchouli scent without oud or vanilla. Looking forward to trying it out again on Saturday. Also, I’m pretty sure this was my wedding scent; it was either this or MJ Daisy, so I’ll just say it was this one ;)

sashapoppy

Ah, the fruitchoulis of yore! Yes boys and girls, in the days before oudh changed our lives it was all about the post modern chypre and to be fair, the idea was done to death. But we all have our passe vices, and Miss Dior 2012 is mine. It somehow transcended the dreaded jasmine/mandarine/patchouli triad and rewired my brain to think "caramel corn and strawberries". Delightful. My tastes have evolved over the years and I no longer reach for this almost compulsively but I still wear it now and again, when I need something youthful but inoffensive, and it will always have a special place in my olfactory memories.

Anzacbackwards

The last scent my Mum ever bought me and I was so surprised by that as it is so very expensive here in NZ. My all time favourite. A shame I'll never own it again. It made me feel beyond beautiful!

Rosendust

I had a vial of this given to me the day that I went shopping for my prom dress and that night was my senior prom. I remember feeling like a goddess which was a rarity for me at the time. I also remember how this scent encapsulates those memories for me and my scent journey. Oh how I wish I could findfeel this scent again. From what I remember the staying power was 8+ hours.

Amascent

What happened to this scent????? Why on earth would they mess with a masterpiece???🤷♀️ The early 2010's version was amazing. One of my favorite perfumes. Today, its entirely different. Sad, boring, expected, and just missing all of the magic it used to have. So very sad to see this. I feel like I just had a break up, it's heartbreaking. I ran out of my last 2012 bottle, and I miss it.🤦♀️ Dior please bring my love back!!!!

pweedyadel

What if it starts with 8? @tandem_4x4

tandem_4x4

sarrah-91

It is very unlikely that you can fine 2012 MD EDP in the shops these days. Check the 4 symbol batch code on the back of your bottle, it is engraved with the very small script. If it starts with 2, 3. 4. 5. 6. 7, then it is most likely 2012 version. You can check the same in the shop on the bottom of the box.

dyaver

As many already said it's very similar to Coco Mademoiselle. To me Coco is more complex - fruity and happy in the beginning and dirty and sexy in the dry down, it has a story. Miss Dior is more linear. It's a mature, toned and gentle version of Coco. Fresh and airy floral scent for any occasion. I had it for a few months and then somehow I got bored of it.

sarrah_92i

I'm very confused, can someone explain to me why in some perfume stores the Miss Dior EDP's liquid in the bottle is pink and in other stores it is orange? Does that mean that the orange liquid is the 2012 version and the pink liquid is the new one (2017)? I own the miss dior EDP with the orange liquid since ocotber 2017 and i repurchased a new bottle (orange liquid) in august 2018 (it has the same smell, mandarine and patchouli, I don't smell any pepper or rose), so i'm wondering if those bottles I own are the 2012 version. And lastly, I went to Sephora a few months ago to smell the miss dior EDP with the pink liquid : it does smell similar, but I fell like it's less stronger and more sweet, so in the end I don't know...

tandem_4x4

I bought a slightly used bottle today from a nice lady who advertised it on the local ad web-site.

It smells like a mid version between Miss Dior Cherie 2005 and Miss Dior EDT 2012. It is less sweet than MDC 2005 but a bit heavier than EDT 2012.

It is a great version, I really like it. I still like to wear ETD 2012 to office and MDC 2005 to events. Not sure where this one will go, I just like having it.

EDIT: sprayed on the wrists this one and MDC2005. This one lacks the beautiful strawberry-champagne-popcorn notes. Also MDC2005 smells the same notes from the beginning till the end. This is changes to a simple patchouli ambery drydown. My heart stays with MDC2005

danarst

This 2012 Dior was the illegitimate sister of Coco Mademoiselle, the rich princess. Same royal bloodline, less recognition. I much preferred the Dior - a beauty like Coco Mad, minus that snobby overrated Chanel dry down.
Dior’s death was tragic. The new one that has replaced her is a commoner, and an imposter.

Jheart1978

Miss Dior Eau de Parfum....I’ve tested the line in Macy’s .....was confused! So I recently purchased the Miss Dior....well I can say the scent is sharp and deep with the patchouli. Don’t over spay, otherwise you’ll drown because the fragrance is to strong.....I would wear this in winter.....and even evenings. Dior has done this many flankers thing in J’Dore as well ! Which....what .....when ......where...!?!? I own the original in that scent too.

CathSvila

Oh dirty patchouli how you vex me. I’m yet to find a scent with patchouli that doesn’t smell like musty socks. The original composition of this fragrance must weep at this abomination of a frag.

kbm1208

My first Designer perfume, it was love at first sniff. It makes me feel powerful and in control. Not a teeny cutesy perfume IMO, this one is for the more matured woman who knows her perfume arsenal. I got many compliments wearing this (as is should, it is pretty pricey here in Asia)

Lovely123

I'm so sad that this formula was discontinued. It is one of my favorite perfumes, if not my absolute favorite, and I'm about to empty my bottle of this.. I don't know what I'll do. It's so frustrating, especially since the newest one smells so bad to me. The new one smells like strong artificial chemicals, and it also smells older than the 2012 version. Wish it could be brought back.

mschnabel666

I was kinda mean to Coco Mademoiselle... I called her basic and nothing special. I think I even said generic. Then I wore the end of my sample and started to love it. It's not unique- true- but it's so well done with good sillage/potency (it's not cloying, but will last all day and you will be able to smell yourself without choking people next to you)

So I kinda wanted CM after all. But the cheap-ish bottles on ebay are probably fakes, and CM wasn't quite worth the big $$ IMO.

So when I saw an ebay listing for Miss Dior Cherie EDP I hopped on it. It was one of those 95% full Fragrancenet deals, with no photo. So it was a fun gamble. What version would I get? An actual Cherie? A Miss Dior? What Miss D? 2012? 2017? The $37 price tag for 100ml was worth the gamble. (and it's not really a gamble if you would like/want/be happy with any version) This was also a blind buy. I ADORE the OG Miss Dior (vintage/green) and the only newer Miss D/Cherie I know/own is the Le Parfum which I found for a great price blindly as well.

The purchase came today and it's a 2015 bottle of this 2012 version! SCORE! I secretly wanted this version. Because-- back to CM... I started to like CM and wanted an affordable bottle. This 2012 was to be my answer to that.

I love this 2012 MD! Compared to CM tho-- this has more citrus, less patch, and it's fuller/sweeter/juicy. I find CM to be rather dry/airy compared to MD.
I also would put the citrus as the strongest note over patchouli. This is citrus-rose more than patchouli.
This 2012 is the version I wanted from Frag-net. So yay!

But- now that I smell this. I'm a bit disappointed because it never occurred to me that it would be similar to my Le Parfum. Which is a huge DUH on my part. They are meant to be similar- just Le Parfum is stronger. MD 2012 is a candied orange rose with a bit of patchouli/spice/earth, to me-- the patch is just a bit.

Next day tissue test is DEF Coco Mad!

I did a proper wear in windy, stormy, blizzardy, wet, 30s "spring" and it had meh sillage/potency. I was heavy handed too. So potency could be weather related.

BihterAnneBoleyn

ran out of it today, i'm so sad. RIP miss dior (2012)

Minty Mouth

@Anamandy. I'm not sure I would describe any of the Miss Dior editions of recent years as Roses and Pepper. If the one you have is sweet and fruity, it really could be either Miss Dior 2012 or 2017, since they both have fruity sweet aspects despite their many differences.

ms_koo

This one will always be my special favourite. After graduating and starting work I decided it was time to start searching a real perfume. And Miss Dior was love at first sniff! This perfume contains all the notes which I adore, it's crazy! It gives me confidence and makes me feel beautiful and professional. I didn't even know what kind of notes I liked, and this perfume was one of the first ones I tried at a store and yet I still compare other perfumes to Miss Dior like 'how yummy is this compared to Miss D..?' I'm so happy that I got literally the last bottle in town back in 2017. I will use it sparingly and save it for special occasions. I'm constantly searching for a replacement, so this one kind of got me into perfumes, thank you Miss Dior! :)

icelle

"Roses and pepper" is the 2017 version, Anamandy. <3

Anamandy

I'm so mixed up here. How many versions of this fragrance are there anyway? Which one is the roses and pepper version?

Orientalflower92

The reformulation of miss dior cherie was sad but the reformulation of miss dior 2012 was even sadder
What a precious scent !

pronose

Why calling this crap miss dior? There's only one miss dior the original released in 1947! This version is worthless and can't pair the original. Dior policy is wrong by naming new mainstream scents the same as the oldies! By crooking buyers you can't make new great scents! And francois demachy he's a very modest nose! This version can't even pair miss dior cherie!

LaurieVainilla

Miss Dior is as sophisticated as the bottle looks like...

Spraying it on will instantly make you feel energized, happy and confident, and as subtle the scent might be at the beginning, when you move, feel the wind or just inhale deeply, you'll be able to smell this fragrance... It's like a reminder, and this one is very long lasting.

I recently rediscovered this gem in my collection. Christmas 2011, and I had Miss Dior Cherie on my wishlist. My darling fiance spent hours trying to track it down, but everywhere he went in our smallish city was out of stock. Finally, just a few days before Christmas, I happened to be browsing the counters in Myer, and there was Miss Dior -- minus the Cherie, but she looked much the same. And so she ended up under the Christmas tree for me that year.

But of course, this wasn't the elegant strawberry/caramel gourmand I remembered. I didn't have the heart to tell my darling that it wasn't The One. And honestly, it was too -- heavy? intense? mature? -- for me, and the beautiful Miss Dior was relegated to a lingerie drawer, coming out only for anniversaries and birthdays.

Fast forward to now. That darling fiance died almost three years ago. I couldn't touch any of my perfumes for two years because the olfactory memories were so terribly intense. But in recent months I've returned to my little collection and am rediscovering the treasures within. Miss Dior sat calmly, quietly, waiting her turn.

And she *is* a treasure. I can't quite believe how much my impression of her has altered. I get the most gorgeous bright citrus -- crushed leaves and stems and peel, smoothing out into the sweeter, softer mandarin, hugged by quiet rose. She's intense, yes, but not heavy. Mature, but only in so far as to be elegant is to possess a certain level of maturity.

I don't get the jasmine. For me, this is complex mandarin, with a whisper of rose, and secured by very green patchouli. It's a still life arrangement in a glass bowl, in an ivory-toned drawing room. I tend to gravitate towards garden-y, domestic scents, so this reads as sophisticated and elegant for me, in the best possible way.

For reference, my batch is 1Z01 -- December 2011. Judging by Miss Dior's absence from the shops and sudden reappearance, I believe this is one of the very first bottles of the 2012 reformulation. I'm looking forward to testing some of the later versions!

tropicalkuuipo

I really like this perfume a lot. It’s very gentle with a touch of citrus and some rose. It has a comforting warm scent. Very subtle and beautiful!

missvelvet

I have had this perfume for a year now, and simply love it.It does remind Me of both Coco M and Miss Dior Cherie. It has that patch and fruit that I love.

Mariase

If you miss this formulation, try Coco Mademoiselle Intense ;)

Scissorslizardspock

I received this lovely gem a few years ago from my husband as a Christmas gift. I don't think my nose was educated enough at the time to discern the notes I was smelling, that being said, it's very well blended. I get lovely patchouli, and a bright crisp borderline sharp citrus. I find it best it cold weather, it's as appropriate for daytime as it is for date night which makes it very versatile. It's classy, happy, sometimes sexy, and confident. There are definite similarities between this and Chanel Coco Mad, which I also love. Wear time is impressive. The new version is a very sad departure from a beautiful fragrance. If you're lucky enough to come across this discontinued gem, snatch it up!

revealm

I able to grabe last batch of this fragrance before it discontinued. For me I like the new version more this one is so so. I think Patchouli and orange are crashed when they are together they left something strange behind like some one who didn’t would say it’s smell like cat pee I totally get it.

This perfume is hard to explain sometimes it’s nice sometimes it stinks.
A woman who rock this perfume more like a Madam not Miss. I can see a woman who great at her job let’s say a lady boss wear this perfume with a nice fine suite.

tanayamohanty30

I'm almost thirty and it's been a while since I've been looking for my signature perfume. I smelled this in my sister's closet, my brother-in-law has bought her a gift pack of five testers of Dior and this bottle, the miniature version... i just couldn't stop myself from sniffing it. It is different than all the famous fragrances I've ever smelled. It sits on my skin like the memory of love, lingering in my thoughts... like a beautiful melody. I don't know why and mature woman won't like it. I think, I'd have liked someone better if i smelled this on them (before i knew this was it). I cannot get over how beautiful it makes me feel. It's sensuous, it's sexy, it's fragile and it smells sophistication. I'm almost sure this is something of like to wear even after twenty years.

bettybee983

@Shanel is it possible you are referring to the newest (2017) formulation? That one is very floral, while the 2012 is not.

I could not possibly love a scent more than I love this one. I am so sad it was d/c, but luckily I bought a 5 oz-er right before it went off the market, and I am going to buy another one off of e-bay!

Shanel2448

I don’t understand all the hype on this perfume! It stinks! Way too floral! But if you like Floral then you’ll love this perfume!! However I must admit after a couple of hours it was much better! The initial spray was Like being slapped it the face with a bridal bouquet!!! Not my kind of fragrance!

izermeno21

This perfume is very similar to COCO Mademoiselle, it’s very strong, sophisticated and long lasting. I see a professional in office clothes wearing this !

Tyriel

Gave a bunch of testers to a female coworker. Today she wore this. I smelled her when she entered the room. She was around ten meters away and she smelled divine. Wow!

Teenagers cannot pull this off. Definitely for 30+

Scent: 8.5/10

After the drydown, Miss Dior is:

Sweet, warm, floral, welcoming. Soft. Miss Dior is an open door to a friendly, sincere hug from a friend. It's not flashy, it's not edgy, it's not sharp or bitter or challenging. It's a perfect scent for the office, an outing to a wine tasting in summer, and reading love sonnets.

Youthful, lovely. She's a keeper for me, for days I don't want to shout out a super fresh scent like Light Blue, or wear the fruity, juicy Bright Crystal Absolu, or go adventuring with Lolita Lempicka, Olympea, or Coco Mademoiselle.

Helen123456789

Tired it many many times and i wanted to love it ..It smells really nice but it's not exciting . Great for spring days. But for the price i expected a long lasting perfume which this is not. I don't think I'll ever buy it.

Minty Mouth

Bibibling is correct about the batch numbers starting with the number that represents the year. However, it might be the case that some old version bottles were produced in 2017.

The bottle of the new version I have has a batch code which, according to checkfresh.com, was produced in May 2017. It didn't hit shelves until September, but who knows how far in advance they were made. If nobody has a bottle of the new version which predates May 2017 then that could well be the cutoff date where the scent changed.

Regarding the similarities to the EDT version: IMO, the 2012 juice smells much more like the EDT than the 2017 version does. The 2017 version has almost no detectable patch, and a boatload of vanilla. The 2012 version has a very noticeable patchouli opening, not too dissimilar from the EDT version currently on shelves.

If you want to be sure, you can check the batch codes on the tester bottles. They should be printed on the back of the bottles, near the bottom right. The tester that I have says "Tester not for sale" followed immediately by the batch code. It's quite hard to see so you have to get the light to catch it just right.

bibibling

Mine is 4Q01. As far as I know, anyone who has 2012 version should have a number starting with either 2,3,4,5 or 6 because those numbers stand for the year it was made (2= 2012, 3= 2013, etc.) (I got that info from the forums in Fragrantica in the big Miss Dior flankers thread.)

And, at least to my nose, the 2017 Miss Dior EDP smells pretty different. However, they both smell similar to current Miss Dior EDT, but in different ways, if that makes sense at all. I think the blood orange makes a big difference.

mapache

Yes....wow...the Dior versions of their scents are becoming confusing and complicated....lol. So, I am not sure which "version" of this I currently have...but..WHATEVER....I am loving this scent. I think it is somewhat underrated...(maybe due to the above mentioned confusion). I do get the fruity chypre vibe, which I love. I can see the comparison to the Chanel Coco Mad too. sillage/projection seems to be so-so also. This one is a winner for me,no matter the version. Softly elegant light chypre heaven.

MoniSK

I gave this parfum to my mom. Its powdery sweet and something wasnt right in this for me.

senteur

My signature fragrance. I ADORE this Miss Dior version, I find it very sofisticated. The new version smells too much like roses and pepper, I don't like it at all

minizelda

A cousin of LVEB with stronger spices and patchouli note. Sweet and somewhat woody to me

Maybe more of a sister to Flowerbomb because of the wood I'm getting? Something like that

Christycaxxx

I don’t mind this perfume but I prefer the Blooming Bouquet. Very floral with a little woody note when I smell it. Quite an elegant fragrance and I would probably use this as a night scent and my Blooming Bouquet as a day scent.

theelectra

Love this one! It smells amazing and sophisticated. I would make this my signature but unfortunately it gives me a headache without fail every time I spray it. I really wish it didn't. I have tried Ellen Tracy Pretty Petals as an alt, and it smells very similar with less of the headache.

GillyB

I adore this perfume and feel classy when I wear it. For my budget it's quite expensive, and I keep it for special occasions, but would love to wear it everyday as I just feel so good when I'm wearing it. Perhaps I wouldn't appreciate it so much if I wore it daily! Once I've worn it, I can detect the fragrance on my coat for some time afterwards as there's a note in the perfume that is very long lasting. It is fresh and I like the citrus notes and the underlying patchouli. It rather reminds me of my favourite men's aftershave from about 30 years ago which was Christian Dior Eau Savage, that was one hell of a sexy aftershave!

Belleblue

Delicious, soft , less in your face then say LVB...soft hint of creamy caramel , roses and great longevity, stays close to skin , does not project too far , sensual with class ,think cashmere on bare skin... you may find different notes as it warms up , so try before you buy as always, but its an elegant, feminine perfume and worth trying for anyone.

Isobela

I have had this perfume for ages and I don't know why I've never written a review on it before now. This is fruity sweet patchouli with a musky undertone. Longevity is fantastic, you only need one spray for the day.

This is like Coco Mademoiselle as stated above but I prefer this one on me due to its softer, deeper and muskier presence. There an underlying spice in there too. It's less loud and high pitched than CM. I love CM on other women but it just doesn't suit my skin as well as Miss Dior. Miss Dior goes quite deep on me and I like that, CM screeches too loud on my skin and is too persistent and linear.

I'm sorry that Dior have decided to change Miss Dior again! You never know what you are buying, I don't get the thought process behind it?

Larsfenn

One word for this......HEAVEN❤❤

fragrantperfumes

When I was given a sample, I didn't like Miss Dior because it smelled too masculine. Then, the other night, I smelled it again and liked it. Wore it the next day and was hooked on it. Finally got a bottle today.

I do not see it as an “elegant and spirited young woman in love.” It is definitely not a "quiet" perfume---definitely more on the bold side. Actually, now that I think about it---I can see how they may describe it as that (I guess 'cause I'm older, the young woman part I would not associate with).

It is definitely a perfume that would get noticed---strong sillage and longevity. I was actually surprised at the longevity as I'm used to Chanel and Givenchy being good Perfume Houses that seem to always carry through with good, potent perfumes. The only perfume I have of Dior is J'adore----it has a strange kind of sillage and it does not last long (you definitely want expensive perfumes to last long). I would definitely recommend this perfume for one who doesn't shy away from wearing stronger scents (I know a lot of women who've told me they like perfumes that are very "light"---this is definitely not one of those). Some men may also feel comfortable wearing this scent---it definitely has that spicy thing going on that is often in mens'colognes (I would easily be able to label it unisex).

parfumparfan

This smells A LOT like Coco Mademoiselle. So much so that I thought, wait did I spray Coco Mademoiselle? The only difference I'd say is in the dry down. Where CM might be screechy, too sharp or almost unisex, this one trends strictly feminine and much softer. Its citrus note stays apparent throughout the entire dry down, and it smells like a creamy floral. I much prefer this to CM as it's sillage and longevity are better too. Lasted a good 48 hours on clothes and projected about 2 ft. Apply sparingly! I can see this working for the office while CM doesn't in my opinion, since this one is softer and a bit sweeter and less offensive. Very safe blind buy and the bottle is adorable.

WonderGirl98

This fragrance is too sharp for my taste and it almost gave me a headache, it reminds me a lot of Coco Mademoiselle except I can tolerate this one way more, I can't stand Coco Mademoiselle. The 2017 reformulation sounds like something I will probably like a lot and I can't wait to try it but this one wasn't for me. I know it has its fans and people are really upset that it has been reformulated but the new one sounds very promising to me. It didn't like Miss Dior Cherie either (the one with the popcorn and caramel), I was a kid when Miss Dior Cherie was popular but I knew what it was and I knew I didn't like it at all.

Sreza7

I really wanted to love this fragrance. But the jasmine and rose gives me a headache. It’s too powerful. I’ve also tried out other Miss Dior fragrances like blooming bouquet, and absolutely blooming and they also give me a headache with those florals.

jashleysoto_11

This is pure sophistication in a bottle! Even the bottle is classy! Miss Dior has a youthful vibe to it, but it's wearable for any generation. I think it's a timeless classic. Dior continues to be my favorite designer perfumer.

DarlingNikki

If only I could stomach the patchouli in this, it would be a signature scent for sure, but alas, that patch just hits my nose in all the wrong ways. I have a co-worker who wears this on occasion and on her it works so well, but I'm scared to death to even put it on me because I just know the patchouli will come screaming off my skin simply because I hate that note in fragrances. Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to try it, but for now, I'll just keep the little mini bottle she gave me and treasure her thoughtfulness.

EDIT: just had to come back to this to say that my bottle has been sitting undisturbed in my desk drawer at work for months now and last week I decided to sniff it again and OMG that patchouli is even stronger to my nose! I know now that this would be an utter disaster on my skin, but will keep it because of my co-worker's thoughtfulness and the adorable mini bottle.

Minty Mouth

Reminds me of Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I don't know why! But I think she would wear this in her iconic yellow dress.

Update: I just bought a second bottle to prolong our time together. Hopefully there's still enough of this in circulation to keep us all happy for at least a few more years.

Waekkae

Thank god I could find this version in my country though it was so difficult to get it.
Miss Dior EDP 2012 is such a classy yet playful perfume, and it’s one of the best perfume I have.
I can’t stand Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming and Miss Dior EDP 2017 and I just don’t understand why they need to discontinue this 2012 beautiful formula and produce something worse instead

mangojordan73

I can't believe they discontinued 2012 MD this with a flat overly sweet headache inducing non lasting formula!! Have they lost their marbles. The new Miss Dior 2017 is a generic sharp one dimensional formula that doesn't last. Way to go disrespecting your loyal customers, Dior.
:/

celia46

I like it but easily becames overwhelming. It's a pity.

gingervixen

This will be more a review of how Dior, as a brand, is deceiving and disrespecting their customers, and how they, to me, are losing their value as a real luxury brand...

Miss Dior is a perfume that has been reformulated many times. I can understand why they reformulated the 1947 version and make Miss Dior Chérie the new Miss Dior (which happened in 2012), because the 1947 version was indeed a little "too old" for modern times (but beautiful just the same). So, there came the new Miss Dior is 2012. But if you like the yellowish-ambar colored fragrance with a great patchouli and caramel popcorn dry-down, forget it, it has now been replaced by an insipid, boring, weak floral fragrance with no powerful base note to make it remarkable or lasting.

I don't know why Dior would replace the 2012 version, which is a BEAUTIFUL AND REMARKABLE perfume, with that crap that is now being sold. After all, Miss Dior is indeed a classic perfume, it has been reformulated one time already, WHY DO IT AGAIN? How are they supposed to have loyal customers if they are not loyal to their customers in return? If they wanted to release a new version of Miss Dior, why not release it with a new name, such as the "Blooming Bouquet" and "Absolutely Blooming" (which are beautiful versions btw), while keeping the original 2012 version in the market?

If you want to be viewed as a real luxury brand, you are telling the world that your products are the essence of elegance and timelessness, which means your perfumes, clothes, etc will never ever need to be changed because they'll always be trendy and desirable. If you keep changing your own products all the time (and Dior does that to their makeup line as well), you're sending the message that your products are constantly out of date and need to be updated all the time. Also, you're sending the message that you care about the MONEY of the customers, not their satisfaction. All brands want customers' money, but at least they hide their capitalist intentions by being loyal to their customers and not changing their classic perfumes.

Chanel, for example, has their 1986 reformulated Chanel No. 5 but if you want to buy the original one, you can still find it. Chanel also released Eau Première and L'Eau, which are other modern versions of the Chanel No. 5 but they never stopped selling the original, true Chanel No. 5 parfum. That's being loyal to your customers and to the legacy of the brand. Dior, on the other hand, throws away any perfume that "underperforms" according to their stupid criteria, even if it was a beautiful, amazing perfume like the 2012 Miss Dior or the wonderful Midnight Poison, which is an olfactive gem we will never see again.

I was lucky to buy a bottle of the 2012 version online, produced in 2016. So if you're looking for the 2012 version of it, look for it in small perfume shops and online from trusted sellers and maybe you'll find it. And always check at Checkfresh.com if the perfume was really manufactured before 2017. If it was manufactured in 2017 and the perfume is rose-tinted, it's the crappy new version, don't waste your time with it.

I also recommend buying an extra bottle of the "Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming" if you love this perfume like I do, because it seems that it's "underperforming" and they'll probably discontinue it as well. Will they discontinue or reformulate "J'Adore" one day as well? I don't know. I honestly don't trust Dior as a brand anymore. Too bad they're doing this to a beautiful brand, because Christian Dior was a genius who valued tradition, legacy and craftsmanship.

Dior, your new Miss Dior is definitely not what I would do for love.

Pmy

It smells young but elegant! It has sweetness and warmth to it too! Decent sillage and very long lasting.
*I wore this on my wedding day. I have the 2012 version that I brought last 2014.<3

Dandousha

I think I'm IN LOVE.

To me this scent is tenderness, just beautiful womanly tenderness in a bottle. It smells like a woman whose hug makes you feel such warmth around your heart like everything in the world is going to be fine :) you just never want her to leave

I think it works for day and night (just not a wild party night kind of scent ;) and recommend it for early-mid twenties and up as I feel it is too sophisticated for a teenager

So glad I could get my hands on one of the last 2012 bottles, really don't like the new 2017 version :(

avonman

The LAST Of The Beautiful Miss Dior Reformulations that Still kept The Heart Of Miss Dior CHERIE Alive...Thank Goodness I Just received a Third 100ml Bottle that I ordered! M.D. 2012 is Gorgeously FRENCH... Parisian Days And NIGHTS, Strawberries And CHAMPAGNE, Silk And SATIN, Holding Hands And KISSING, Heartbeats And DESIRE.........DIOR Now THIS Is What I Would Do For LOVE!!

comfortablynumb83

I recently bought a bottle that is a batch from 2016. I am head over heels! It's not listed as sweet, but I get a sweet orange and patch with a hint of rose. The 2017 version is as lovely, focusing on rose and pink pepper, although still clearly miss dior. I'm tired of seeing all the complaints about reformulation. Each new version is a bit different than it's predecessor, but they're all equally beautiful.

DearZoe

This is a love and my daytime scent. Miss Dior (2012) during the day and if I go out at night I generally grab Dior Addict. The opening on this is so bright and strong my kids recoil. A short time later they tell me they love the perfume I have on now and not the one I sprayed 2 hours ago. HA! The dry down is magical on me. I bought a backup bottle but eventually it will be a memory. Why, Dior??? WHY??? Please don't mess with Addict.

francescasmith94

This was the first perfume that I ever bought for myself and chose myself. I remember wearing it and feeling extremely elegant and sensual. It's feminine but not "girly". I am not a fan of the 2017 version and so was sad to see this go, because of the memories it provokes.

kati77

Miss Dior Cherie from the 2011 Eau de Parfum. This version is 95% similar to the Miss Dior version of 2012 that you can buy and is still produced. These two versions are so similar that I will describe them together. Here the warmth and sweetness of patchouli, tangerine and rose. Only strawberries are missing, it is in 2011 and in 2012 it is not. At least according to the official notes of fragrance, but that does not bother you. Girl's fragrance, a little fresh and sweet, but does not have the impression of stickiness.

Silk Flower

RIP, amazing scent...
You will be deeply missed.

LoveJoy22

PATCHOULI"ED" WINE:

What an amazing scent...On my skin, Miss Dior develops into a warm, honeyed-citrus, patchouli,
woody-wine. I really love this one.

AnitaHendricks

I noticed beautiful sweet orange and patchouli in the opening. This combination is both uplifting and mysterious. It reminds me of fall. The floral and musk notes show up after the perfume dries down. This suddenly reminds me of spring! It’s definitely interesting. I don't care for the 2017 version but this one is nice and elegant.

mvcb

I adore this perfume. It's not too sweet, it's elegant. Hate the new Miss Dior. The pepper and rose combination is awful

chicagogirl

There's apparently yet ANOTHER change to Miss Dior. On the Sephora site the notes are now rose, pink peppercorn and bergamot. No more patchouli. Seriously?? All we want is the caramel and popcorn notes back!!!

jayde_x

This scent is a paradox to me, it smells mature but young? Imagine a girl in her early twenties who has her life together and knows what she wants, much earlier than her counterparts. Classic fruitchouli, makes you feel grown up and elegant. My fragrance for special occasions.

Perfumista301

Beautiful fragrance for patchouli lovers.Rich and complex with an old worldly charm!

revealm

Dior has been degraded their products

I have Miss Dior 2016 version and my sister has 2015 version
compare side by side the color is different
2015 one is lighter and more pinkish while 2016 is more yellowy more gold
also houndstooth print underneath the bottle are different

for the fragrance
the older 2015 version is more intense from patchouli and more sweet
while 2016 version is just so watery and a bit of citrus
the sweetness part is almost not appear
and you know 2015 is not the most intense version Dior has ever released

I think it's not OK what Dior do to their fragrances

for everyone who looking for review or planing to buy new bottle should aware of that before making decision to buy one or to buy another one

you realize you pay the same price or higher to get worse products

helirium

I have to add another heart-broken review to this but I just can't hold it anymore. As heard the news of reformulation/discontinuation, I couldn't be more devastated. Ok it's only a perfume, and I can certainly find a new love. And this happens all the time in the world of fragrances; scents come and go.

But I just can't skip my feelings by just reasoning this.
I'm utterly disappointed with Dior, and I can now understand many other people whom favorite it has discontinued (including the mythic Miss Dior Cherie). I saw these 2012 versions on discount but despite I was tempted to buy a back up, I let them there-- I have made my decision: won't buy anything from that house anymore (at least, for now).

You may think I'm over-reacting, and maybe I am, but it's simply unfair. Miss Dior 2012 was a big love for me. Just like Janis screams in the song of the promotion film, I let Miss D. took pieces of my heart.. and now there is truly nothing left but ashes.

I was mesmerized by her stunning charm. Nothing vulgar, nothing loud or excessive. What she was, chic. Elegant in terms of simplicity, subtlety and etherealness . I felt like catching a fairy; a dainty, adorable creature right before my hands.

But it is, after all, an aromatic liquid in a glass bottle and nothing larger than life really. Not a fantasy creature. Perhaps this reasoning due to accept the fact that it's time to let go and move on. Just like Roxette sings: "It must have been love..but it's over now.."

vgedin

I do miss the strawberry note from the original Miss Dior Cherie, but this is as close CD can get to redeeming itself for having discontinued that gem. Having said that, the absence of the strawberry makes this more versatile. There is not can occation for which this is inappropriate - just have to adjust how much you spray.

What do l want from a perfume for which I pay a relatively hefty sum? I want a scent I enjoy. I want it to develop well on my skin. I want it to perform well. I want it to get me complements. I want to feel good, and perhaps enjoy the feeling of having indulged myself in buying an expensive perfume.

Miss Dior does all of those things. I have no complaints whatsoever. Great quality, just enough ingenuity to ensure it isn't generic. LOVE

EnergeticCrab

I don't understand what Dior is doing releasing about 20 different fragrances all with different permutations of the same words: Miss, Dior, Cherie, Blooming, Couture, EDT, etc... It's very confusing, especially to a person who hasn't been following the brand's releases over the past 10 years. The sample I have is "Miss Dior EDP" and I got it in 2017.

On me, Miss Dior is a soapy patchouli with lightly sweet citrus and florals. It's not intrusive or sickly and is surprisingly airy. Like others have mentioned, this is a deceptively simple fragrance because it smells more expensive than the components would have you believe. It has a young and elegant quality that I imagine would appeal to "sophisticated" pre-teens.

I dig it, though! Especially as a non-teen. The drydown is soft and sweet and never juvenille. And even if I am not in love with it, I can appreciate what Miss Dior is trying to say.

G.I. JANE

Soapy champagne, with the patchouli creeping up a few hours later. It's a very "expensive"-smelling fragrance; the kind of fragrance that makes you smell like a million bucks.
It is mature, elegant, and dignified.
It is fruity, but not sickeningly fruity. There is a hint of rose, and the citrus goes right up your nose, but I'll say it again... smells just like soapy champagne. If you like that, you'll love this. If you do not, this is not for you. For me, that's what makes it so luxurious.
Cheers!

muahah

In bottle it smelled innocent, bit vintage fragrance. On my skin it turned heavy citrus, fruity, spicy. At that point I couldn't call it grandma perfume, but rather more suitable word for it would be good quality classic. Nothing like that model in pink princess dress in front of roses. My association with it was heavy tropical, Cuba nightclub (thou I never been even to Cuba, but that's my association). Later it turned heavier and I started to sense in it cigars? It started to annoy me and gave me light headache. I tried to wash it off with water and soap, but even after hours it was still there as soapy, spicy grandma perfume. Later I went outside and noticed that my clothing had absorbed this smell from my washed skin. I rushed through everything I needed to do to faster return home to get shower and to wash this clothing. Unfortunately does not work for me, quite annoying and embarrassing scent.

fyre92

This is lovely. SO MUCH BETTER THAN COCO MAD. GET THE PURE PARFUM TOO. AHHHH !!

michelle.schlossman

This is the scent I was looking for when I bought Miss Dior Cherie years ago but it didn't deliver. Carmel sweets, flowers, and a touch of spice. Can be worn by anyone, anytime of year just don't get crazy with it. 1 or 2 sprays will do and it lasts until the next day.

amanda7

This is too sweet for me, especially the beginning is very sweet. When it settles down it´s a bit drier but I prefer scents which are more spicy and fresh. It was a present from my husband and luckily just a small bottle, because it definitely isn´t my cup of tea.

It's been about three years that I have a bottle of miss dior(2012 version).I even used up almost half of it but I never really liked it.back then I highly disliked patchouli and this one, chanel mademoiselle, tom ford white patchouli or any other patch dominant perfume were just in my collection because I liked to have them but I used them rarely speacially because not just me but my man also disliked them(he still dislikes perfumes with dominant patch)but lately my taste in perfume changed,I began to love chanel mademoiselle and TF white patchouli, also my love for miss dior absolutely blooming made me want to give another chance to whole line, the result is:now I like miss dior2012 alot,I almost love it and now that I'm starting to appreciate it,they're reformulating it to another thing.I'm so sad
iamoir's review for miss dior edp and comparing it to chanel coco mad is so aptly done that I don't think I can add anything,I agree that it has two different stages.but first stage is what I like the most but unfortunately it lasts just half an hour and then shifts to milder stage(hubby dislikes it's first stage but claims after half an hour it's not that bad).first stage is about sweet mandarin orange blended with intense patchouli.it's sharp and sweet and tangy and has very good sillage.chanel coco mad has the same sharp opening stage but not identical to a trained nose.it's less syrupy sweet, more fruity/citrusy with a little less intense patch.
Second stage of miss dior 2012 is a milder stage.it has moderate sillage at it's best and isn't much sweet or sharp anymore.both patchouli and orange calm down a bit and give place for other notes to showup.rose, jasmine and musk are all there but so well blended that you can like this perfume even if you usually dislike rose, jasmine or musk.it's softer and more grown-up in this stage and has a classy even a sensual vibe.this stage iis what sticks around for another 5,6 hours on my skin.chanel coco mad has also a softer stage but not identical.fruity/citrusy accord in chanel lasts longer and makes it's age younger in some people's eyes.it's softer stage has chanel's signature.a clean jasmine-white musk-a hint of soft vanilla combo which gradually covers citrusy patchouli and other florals.I like both of them and none of them can replace the other one for me
Miss dior 2012 which has absolutely nothing to do with first vintage miss dior,is a highly versatile perfume in my eyes while vintage miss dior wasn't easy to wear IMO,actually I don't like that one,it has too much of a retro chypre vibe for me.comparing miss dior 2012 with 2005 version(which was first miss dior cherie as you know)again they're totally different and while I like Cherie,I prefer 2012 miss dior edp(and I'm a gourmand lover, also strawberry lover!)
I'm going to miss this one when it becomes difficult to find but I don't think I'd stock it up so I have to save this 50mil left in it's bottle
By the way recently I tested madame gres and I find it shares a lot with miss dior 2012,it's not identical but I guess I enjoy it even more as it has the same sweet fruitypatchouli opening but in a more rounded, warmer way so I recommend you to try it if you like miss dior as it's waaay cheaper and it's longevity and sillage are a step better!

I went to the store today and sprayed 3 times this on my wrist. Literally couldn't smell it after half an hour. I own the Couture Edition that is the good stuff and a lot stronger than this watered down version. I'm going to skip this after I run out of my Couture Edition. Shame on Dior for ruining this one!

Ladylike and proper; some would say boring but I find it interesting and textured enough! I love the warm citrus notes mixed with the subtle florals, and the dry down is just the right amount of sweetness to be pretty without being artificial or frivolous. I normally am not a big fan of patchouli but I think it is done very well here.

Miss Dior is a straightforward, structured, no-frills fragrance that is versatile and wearable for almost all occasions (although I would suggest avoiding it on very hot summer days because the patchouli can be quite heady).

The best part, however, is the longevity: this lasts ages and ages on my skin, probably the longest-lasting fragrance I have ever tried! It is also one of the few fragrances that actually develops fully from its top to bottom notes, and like I said, the structure is very well done.

I wish I could compare it with older versions of Miss Dior, but from just smelling this version, very well done to the perfumers of Dior. Not my absolute favorite, perhaps, but I give it a solid 7/10 and it just might end up on my "want" list.

It is a perfume more complex than the 5 ingredients listed here. I sense currant - or a berry of a sort - lovage or nettle, a fresh wood, maybe some balmy resin, pink pepper, some carnation ..
It is nice. Not spectacular, as I would have expected from a Dior. But then... it's reformulated :/ Wearable year round and understated, can be used in office as well as at a funeral, it won't pop you out of the ordinary.

frida.hultgren

According to their homepage there is blood orange as well in the top notes..

I got Miss Dior for my mom because she’s a big fan of the original. She knew it would be reformulated, so she wasn’t heartbroken that the new scent bears no resemblance to the old one, and she even seems to like it for what it is. I wish I could say the same.

Whether on her or on me, I’m reminded of a sweet, fruity champagne (as I think someone already said), except it’s not the idea of champagne—sparkly and luxurious—but rather the reality of having it spilled on your shirt. (Did someone barf on my shoes, too?) I like citruses fine, and I’ve no issue with sweetness, but in this case the mandarin comes across as a spoiled fruit on the verge of fermentation, both sour and sickly sweet. If that’s what people usually mean by boozy, I'll consider myself forewarned!

The most perplexing thing is that I get neither jasmine nor patchouli (I don't think?) though I’m quite familiar with the former and reasonably familiar with the latter. All I get is the spoiled mandarin and something that feels, if not smells, as mentholated as a tooth paste. Admittedly, an hour into wearing Miss Dior, something magical happens that makes me understand the fans of the scent. The sourness subsides, and though I still can’t distinguish any notes, the peppermint-y bit produces something incredibly bright, sparkly, and uplifting, quite unlike any other perfume I’ve known. There’s a ghost of the oakmoss feeling, too, a mere trick of the memory, not really there but enough to make me appreciate why these days it’d be called a chypre. For an hour or so that this phase lasts, Miss Dior is a pleasure to sniff. Because of that, I’m inclined to say, ‘sure, give it a try and see how it strikes you,’ even if to my nose the top notes are far too offensive to go through it more than once.

This is an addictive blend of soapy patchouli and jasmine!! I don't find it sweet at all personally. It's a white floral chypre. I rotate fragrances, but whenever I have this on I wannt live in this fragrance. It's addicting

I just got this, and it's a powerhouse. It wears a really long time on me, which is a big plus. It's definitely a "fruitchouli", and similar things are out there, but it's just so nice. Now, I do find this to have a purfumey type smell to it, something I associate with French perfumes. The bottle is so pretty, and a little spritz goes a long way. No need to over spray this baby.

Also, I don't think it's overly similar to Coco Mademoiselle, which I've never been a huge fan of. They share some notes, perhaps, and similar vibe, but to me Miss Dior is better blended, and just prettier. Definitely more mature. I think Miss Dior, is one of the most mature smelling perfumes I have, which is funny considering I feel it's marketed for a younger demographic than me, and she's named "Miss" Dior.

I detect some layers and two basic stages in Miss Dior. I classify it as a gourmand and sweet fragrance.

Opening is sweet and citrusy; sugary! Citruses intensify and a medicinal burst of patchouli hits your nose. I agree with the patchouli but not with the citrus; not only citrus notes are generally "easy" to handle in a perfume and so typical, they are gourmand in this flanker as well. Patchouli is full on minty and herbal, very intense. Maybe so intense that at times it's unbearable to feel the fumes, it's dizzying. Combination of syrupy patchouli.

At some point all the syrupy sweetness tones down, and it becomes lightly floral, still being a gourmand though. The juice turns more proportionate with a very prominent dry patchouli. You could almost say it's a different perfume. It is wearable now.

Last thing,I would want to compare it to Coco Mademoiselle Chanel. As a lot of people state that they are the same, or that Miss Dior is a copy of Coco Mademoiselle etc etc, you get the point, I will try to break down the differences and point out exactly when the two perfumes have an identical scent.
1. Both start with citruses. In Coco Mademoiselle they are more aromatic and less sweet but in Miss Dior they are gourmand.
2. Patchouli is key note in both perfumes; yet it's far more potent and stronger in Miss Dior, almost smokey the last hours or wear in the drydown, but Coco Mademoiselle contains a cleaned up patchouli that is almost undetectable. People actually state that they sense no patchouli at all, instead it's more of a white musk.
3. Both have rose and jasmine; which are prominent in Coco Mademoiselle but lost for the most part in Miss Dior.
4. Miss Dior is a thicker, denser juice, even in the drydown, whilst Coco Mademoiselle starts strong on citruses but loosens to an alcoholic citrus-rose blend, which is not bad if it works with your chemistry. Mind you, I'm comparing the latest Coco Mademoiselle bottle, not an unreformulated one since it's released, and a Miss Dior that I drenched myself in Sephora, so I assume I compare the latest formulations of both.
5. Miss Dior does have an identical scent to Coco Mademoiselle. That is when you actually get out of the shower. Then, yeah ,washed out Miss Dior smells identical to the second hour of drydown of Coco Mademoiselle.

Miss Dior is clearly for those who love excellently executed sweet gourmand-non-gourmand perfumes. Coco Mademoiselle is for those who love a classy, inoffensive, mass compliment getter perfume.

I might wear, MIGHT, Miss Dior. But still none of these for me yet. I'll stick to my balsamics

I just love this fragrance. The patchouli is in it all the way thru. It's very strong so a little bit goes a long way. iI can still smell it days later on my laundry.

bettybee983

Somehow rich and fresh at the same time. The patchouli is there start to finish with zippy and comforting richness. It's full of contradictions and it's beautiful.

Elegantly fresh, timeless, sophisticated and beautiful. A classic scent perfect for all occasions. Romantic, charming and reminiscent of Paris, Casablanca, and Breakfast at Tiffany's. That being said I've never smelled Cherie, so I can't compare..but to me this is in the same class as Coco Mademoiselle....Truly Timeless.

a.elise91

The bottle is deceptively girly. I tested this last week, and decided I had to have it because it is perfect in every way.

I think I've found my new signature.

dglightblue

Hmmm. This to me is a quiet scent, it doesn't scream it's arrived. Patchouli.... I don't know what this smells like on its own, there's a metallic undertone in there, especially in the EDT version if this.
I don't know how to describe this, I was wearing it last night, I can't detect it at all this morning. It doesn't wow me, I know a lot of women like these scents but I find them so so.

Will edit.
I think it's very well blended, I don't get headachy.
The only thing I can think of describing this is it's some kind of floral something...

OMG really lovely elegant perfume i think this is a kind of perfume that every woman should have , its a must have piece of master specially that miss dior cheri sadly discontinued.

Mandarin, jasmine, rose, patchouli, musk - a classic chypre unfolding in predictable stages - citrusy and bright at the top, white/yellow florals with jasmine and a faint rose note at the heart, and the woody base notes and musk - I'd say the berry notes in the opening make it feel like a fruitchouli, but it lacks some of the sweetness I get from other scents in that category. As a chypre, I think it's one of the best mainstream formulas out there. I haven't smelled the original Miss Dior - with that caramel popcorn note I've seen mentioned here - but it doesn't sound like that's a note I would miss (I like to eat popcorn, not wear it). I have a lot of sweet perfumes, so it's nice to have something that's a little less so. Miss Dior is a clean, sparkling chypre that's beautifully blended, long-lasting, with moderate projection that I'd consider safe for the office. For me it's a very wearable scent that exudes class, romance and confidence, and a safe bet for everyday wear. BUT I have at least one VERY similar fragrance in my collection. In fact, I'm reminded of my favorite fruitchouli, Coco Mademoiselle, when I smell this, which is the ONLY reason I don't have a big bottle of this right now. Still, I love this perfume, so I'll probably add it soon.

icingsugar

A softer, more romantic and impressionistic sister to Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle. It opens with a jammy tartness, and slowly smooths down to a slightly sweet strawberry rose concoction. I find this smells wonderful when worn in the rain for some reason.

ppofsummer

When I first bought my bottle in the winter, it was like a patchouli punch in my face and then I just left it aside. Interestingly, when I sprayed it today in a warm weather (about 20), it was much softer and nicer. I can smell clearly the mandarin and jasmine, which is very pleasant. The longevity is good on me about 8 hours. I am quite happy with it and will definitely use it more.

amirali0072000

This is patchouli done right.I love this one..
I like this new version of Miss Dior but it is very similar to Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. I LOVE this new formulation! It's sweet at first, but in a more grown up way than the original., lovely

Amazing and lovely!!! In my opinion this fragrance 100% perfection.

lilah_rouge

My first high end perfume. Magic, romance and dreams in a bottle. :)

LLB_addict

Well, initially the jasmine went completely SHARP and that is ALL I could smell. But just in the amount of time it took me to write a *gag* review.....it is calming down into something nice. Let's see where we are in an HOUR! HAHA!
