Mon Guerlain Florale by Guerlain is a Floral fragrance for women. Mon Guerlain Florale was launched in 2018. The nose behind this fragrance is Thierry Wasser. Top notes are Lavender, Bergamot, Mandarin Orange and Lemon; middle notes are Floral Notes, Peony, Jasmine Sambac, Ylang-Ylang, Neroli, Peach and Lily-of-the-Valley; base notes are Vanilla, Iris and Sandalwood.

Mon Guerlain, launched in the spring of 2017, is Guerlain's tribute to contemporary women "with a strong, free and sensual femininity, as inspired by Angelina Jolie". Its new flanker Mon Guerlain Florale comes out a year later as a more floral and airy version of the original with additional notes of peony and an enhanced dose of Sambac jasmine.

The opening remains the same, with the signature note of Carla lavender. The heart retains Sambac jasmine in a higher concentration together with additional floral notes of peony and Paradisone molecule. The base includes vanilla with woody notes.

The elegant and timeless bottle design based on the Nuances d'or de Guerlain comes in rose-gold color after the champagne nuance of Mon Guerlain the original. The fragrance is available as a 50 and 100 ml the Eau de Parfum Florale.

Just repeating what others have said - Florale is definitely the best version from the flankers. Sad it was discontinued. It's funny how I miss it now and been thinking about it a lot lately. This is yet another vanilla and lavender blend well done by Guerlain.

tealover_

Amazing perfume! This is such a natural creamy floral vanilla fragrance, its soo addictive and has some gentle powderyness, also light sided by enjoyable sweetness, this scent is perfect for a beatiful spring day and lasts long, absolutely gorgeous, would recommend it for creamy floral perfume enjoyers.

Skylakagetis

This has really grown on me.
I have the original and the intense flankers too so I feel able to compare to those.
Longevity is really good for me, it lasts 8+ hours with a light sillage, lots of pleasant wafts through the day.
It's a lovely creamy and sweet floral on a light Guerlain vanilla base.
I definitely get jasmine sambac and lavender but I struggle to identify the other florals in here, just a pleasant light floral scent.
It's sweeter and creamier than the original and it's much lighter. The heavier and denser base notes in the original have gone and so it doesn't have the same thickness and density that the OG does. The base is a sweet and light creamy vanilla/sandalwood.
I thought it was a bit generic when I first got it but I find I have been reaching for it more and more as we are approaching spring, I no longer think it's generic and for me it's the perfect spring floral vanilla. I think the original blew me away from the very start, whereas this has been much more of a slow burn.
It's such a shame that it's been discontinued, it was a great flanker to the original. Definitely recognisable as a Mon Guerlain flanker and from the flankers I have tried, it is most close to the original.
If you found the original too heavy, this would be a great version to try. If you love the original and would like to try a lighter more floral iteration, you may like it also.

jamieeliana

I'm almost done with my 100-ml bottle; all I can say is that this was the best one—better than the original for me! So beautiful.

Blossomlove

When I wear this I want to rub my face in it, it's so good. The silage is beautiful and I love getting whiff's of myself. Probably one of the sexiest florals I've smelled. I don't typically find florals sexy but this one is! Sweet citrus, sugared lavender, and a beautiful boquet of flowers tied together with a divine vanilla.

TheNyx2003

Comeback please ;)💔

mevans

A spring/summer version of Mon Guerlain. If you find the original too heavy for the warm weather, Florale is the answer. Unmistakably MG original in it's DNA, just lighter and with a burst of spring flowers. It's beautiful, elegant, everything you'd expect from this brand and line. It may not seem as long lasting but I think that's just more to do with it's lighter nature. Sillage and longevity are good and appropriate for a light summer fragrance.

After testing several Mon Guerlain flankers, this is my take on the line:

Mon Guerlain EDP:
-cozy yet easily wearable daytime fragrance
-primarily herbal lavender, coumarin, licorice; ends with vanilla and very light patchouli
-my fave, the blend is great at every level of the wear

Mon Guerlain EDT:
-sharp green bergamot top, baby-powder-like note from orris+violet, same cozy vanilla base
-has a medicinal note, and lacks the coziness of the EDP
-my least fave

Mon Guerlain EDP Intense:
-the most accurate 'intense' flanker of any scent I've tried
-more lavender, more patchouli, more coumarin, more vanilla (especially in the dry down)
-while frags don't have genders, I could see men preferring this version as 'bolder' and spicier

Mon Guerlain L'Essence:
-retains the lavender, and has a nice jasmine-sandalwood heart/base
-does NOT smell like sweet frangipani (like I hoped) but instead the 'green'-smelling variety; still pretty but not what I wanted... it's a sister to Aerin's Hibiscus Palm, with a lavender twist.
-the vanilla comes up in the dry down and sweetens things out in a gorgeous way

((Mon Guerlain Florale:))
-powdery, creamy, floral flanker that shares DNA with the OG
-the florals are well balanced but it smells too much like vanilla baby powder for me

SummerRose

Love at first sniff😊 I smelt Mon Guerlain Florale at Duty Free at the airport in 2018 when I was heading off on my holiday. I had it sprayed on my wrist, and for the entire flight, I was enjoying how comforting and feminine it smelt. It is elegant, well blended, and natural smelling. It also has a lovely fresh opening with the bergamot, mandarin orange, and lemon mixed with the lavender. The florals come through in the mid and the base is creamy with the vanilla and sandalwood.

I had made a note to purchase it. But,in 2020, I mistakenly ordered the Intense instead of the Florale. I love the Intense, but I was still desperate to reconnect with the Florale.
Finally, in 2023, I added it to my collection, and I have no regrets 😊

SoftWisdom

A very pretty and comforting lavender vanilla that I like much more than the original Mon Guerlain, it’s pink and very feminine. Soapy, reminds me of the lavender scented Johnson & Johnson baby products but stronger/bolder. From my small bottle it’s incredibly sweet and easily cloying if sprayed too many times, so I usually use only one or two sprays and it lasts several hours. Fantastic in cold or mild weather.

highbymybay

Too strong and sweet, I prefer the original Mon Guerlain
Thought the "Florale" flanker would be more floral-focused but it's way creamier than the original EDT and EDP in my opinion

Acrelune

Sophistication in a bottle.
I must have it in my collection at all times.
So well blended, so unique, so elegant.
Much more complex than the original Mon Guerlain.

My favourite go to during spring and summer.

9.5/10 just because I wish it projected better

soumayaela

A beautiful sweet and floral version of Mon guerlain
Less powdery and more feminine
Very addictive and perfect for everyday use, even in spring and summer
The lavander is still prominent like in the original Mon guerlain, but it's fresher and less sweet
I prefer spraying it directly in my skin instead of spraying my clothes, it transforms into a magical scent, sweet floral lavender

Buuuuut all the Mon guerlains are bad for lasting! They last maximum 2 hours and then become a skin scent! For the price we expect more from these, very disappointing from a house like Guerlain

Beacon631

A more floral form of Mon Guerlain. This is one of my faves for any occasion. I reach for this often. I can sense all of the notes mentioned above. Go light in the day. Spray more for night.

sabriel77

I'm a big fan of the Mon Guerlain range and I enjoy this flanker but I prefer the original. The florale version is pleasant but almost too delicate and dainty for me. I found I was missing the depth from the base notes in the original. I'm downsizing my collection and only keeping what I absolutely love so I'm going to let this one go to a better home. I've got a 50ml bottle that I got from FragranceNet in 2021 that's almost full. I'm selling it on Mercari (USA) under Jackie's Closet if anyone is interested. I want this to go to someone who really loves this scent.

ismellsogood

Guerlain broke
My heart when they discontinued one of the best perfumes of ALL TIME.
Sad.

AleshaA

One of the best floral perfumes ever created great lasting power it has the MG DNA and very good for all year round will have to buy a back up bottle as this is discontinued

sparkling bouquet is wonderful I love it so much brighter and pear champagne toast
but not better
florale is special and it’s gone

Toom_Snoopy

I'm glad that I tried the vial before buying the full bottle. I expect something soft, smooth, beautiful sweet floral from this one, but it's not. I realized that lavender is the flower I super dislike and this is not the exception. Upon first spray, I got strong refreshing towel scent (the towel you received from a tour guide after a long walk journey) with strong alcohol. I sense something that reminds me of top note of Dior Jadore maybe because of jasmine. That's very bad. It dried down to the mixing of lavender and jasmine. I'm not good at describing the fragrance, but blindbuying this one is not recomended. After this review, I decide to wash it off.

kuzminastya

I am so disappointed that this masterpiece got discontinued. It is literally my favourite scent and the best Mon Guerlain version ever, and I liked it much more in comparison to the OG Mon Guerlain and all the other ones. Super elegant, floral, fresh, and nice for every occasion. I will be waiting for Guerlain to release something similar because it was truly beautiful and unique, and to this day I cannot find a replacement for it

Roos88dutch

a shame its discontinued. it smells like the original with more of a soapy feel . great for after a shower and then to bed. This one is great for any season. more floral as the name says . such a comforting scent .very warm and cozy . I still have half a bottle of 50 ml so still 25 ml. It's too bad you can't buy it anymore and I have to be very economical.can't keep it forever. the bottles of mon guerlain can evaporate a lot. is not stored in my bathroom.i had draw a line in a bottle to see .

albatros

Beautiful, expensive, warm, vanilla baby powder, with enormous silage and aura, stays on clothes and skin forever.

SM_tropical

This is a well blended, powdery floral, which is a bit iris heavy. I got a hint of lily of the valley but couldn’t distinguish the other individual notes. I was lured by the citrus top notes , ylang and peach but can’t smell those, nor the pretty lavender, in the way I wanted to.

I thought I would love it and blind bought a full bottle bc it’s discontinued and that’s all I could find.

It’s nice enough but a shame it’s just not for me. I (may) have finally learned my lesson about blind buys…

I have a full 100ml bottle for swap.

Lcprickett

This is a beautiful fragrance. Works for every day but absolutely perfect for the spring. The increased florals with the original Mon Guerlain dna is divine.

Arya_Stark

One of my favourite perfumes. I find it to be very feminine, not too sweet and perfect for early spring

Hasti_b

Actually i fell in love with the scent of this fragrence ; it has floral , clean , powdery scent so femnine and chic , i think that the weak point of this is moderate sillage and longevity , but this is my signature fragrence and it's a good choice for day ; the best scent i ever wear !! i request guerlain company to neverrr discontinue this awsome flanker

LSAUG

I like this flanker better than the original. It has more florals which is always a winner in my book. I love floral perfumes and am a sucker for them. What I really like about this is that it is a lovely floral that keeps the lavender in check. Many florals that use lavender either have too much lavender and the lavender overpowers everything or they don't have enough lavender and can't tell you are wearing a lavender fragrance. Florale is very balanced in its approach. Fresh lavender turned feminine and soft by pink, yellow and white florals. This perfume is pink and lavender perfection, slightly powdery but not overly so, very petal soft, like wearing silk. Full bottle worthy.

lulami

I absolutely, totally, infinitely love this. I have loads of other floral perfumes but this one is special, nothing smells like it. I love that lavender note, which makes the DNA for all the Mon Guerlains, that tames down the sweetness of this perfume. Bonus that it can be worn all-year-long, day or night, special or less special occasions. Now I want the original EDP so I can compare them together. It lasts forever and projects really well. I sprayed my mother's wrist with it, and she loved it, and everytime I entered the room where she was I could smell it. Really lovely.

Antares811

I adore this lovely scent, I prefer this version over the original EDP.
It's a delicate, elegant and feminine floral.
Gorgeous!

Roos88dutch

Really feminine, to me it smells like a les sharp version of miracle. It’s actually smells like the drydown of miracle by lancome . It’s a really comforting and clean sent.I wear it to work but I would wear it to bed if it was a little cheaper . I think it’s to expensive to wear to bed .

trosan

Too floral for me, I prefer the EDT and Original EDP.

gigijolie

I love the powdery iris in the base.

Emera1d

I have been wearing this for a few days now and enjoying it. As I got the new Shalimar MVP I can say that the vanilla note in MG Florale and one of the vanilla notes in SMVP are exactly the same. They are in no way similar perfumes but I guess Guerlain use the same kind of vanilla for both. Apart from the vanilla Florale is mostly lavender and a strong lemon at the beginning. It does feel a bit mumsy, in a way that it creates this safe and comforting feel as I wear it. In comparison to the original YSL Libre, Libre feels way more fresh and modern, MG Florale feels more mature and safe, but apart from the lavender they do not share any other similarities that I can smell. I am not sure how similar Florale is to the rest of the line. Sillage isn't that strong and it is not the most long lasting Guerlain, in 3-4 hours it has turned into a skin scent on me. Last longer sprayed on clothes. I can understand why it is getting discontinued, and haven't decided if it is my kind of scent yet. Definitely for daytime and warm(ish) weather.

epona1705

This is my "go to" fragrance! I like it better than the original. To me, it is a bit sweeter/ floral than the original. Love this version!

Murmur123123

The lavender in this is more rounded and less sharp than the EDP. I still get the DNA of the EDP (maybe 60% similar), and the vanilla is sweet but not cloying or thick. The floral notes are prominent here and make this perfume more appropriate for office wear in my opinion, as it is less sharp and less loud than the EDP.

Minty Mouth

Viva La Juicy and Le Male had a baby.

karo.lugo

Actually one of my favourite perfume, my signature for one year (bought it in 2019 and 2020), fresh and floral but I am very sad to not find it anywhere now, they discontinue it... Very disappointing.

Contessa01

I prefer this to the original Mon Guerlain, though the dry downs are both really musky. At first I actually get a hint of my favorite Givenchy Hot Couture, though that fades with the strength of the musk and lavender notes. As it dries down I am left with a little bit of vanilla (Shalimar style vanilla) with lavender and musk, making it sweeter than the original. In some ways the dry down is a bit too similar to the original Mon Guerlain however for me it is a lot less unisex than the original.

clairesque

I like the original Mon Guerlain, but this flanker totally blows it out of the water. Firstly, projection and longevity are superior to the original. Florale opens with citrus rather than the spicy notes of the original, and throughout the dry down it doesn't have any of the spiciness or patchouli of the original. The lavender is also blended very well with the other florals and the lavender-vanilla combo as a whole is slightly less prominent than the original but definitely still there. When I smell this side by side with the original Mon Guerlain, the original seems like it's lacking something in comparison, and Florale also seems to be smoother and more well-blended. The florals give it more of a presence, more "body," but it totally maintains the cozy lavender-vanilla combo. This also reminds me a lot of the Miss Dior EDP with the floral-woody-powdery combo, but with a unique twist from the lavender. Despite the floral and citrus notes, I see this as more of an autumn, even winter-y scent due to the lavender-vanilla accord as well as the heavy powderiness of it. This is definitely FBW and is a strong contender for the fall/winter spot in my fragrance wardrobe.

Edit: After wearing this a few more times I find it a little on the mature side (between the lavender and the heavy powder accord) for me and don't think I'll be buying a bottle anytime soon, still a lovely scent though.

SunnyD

Initially purchased it for my mother but she didn’t enjoy powdery scents, i decided to keep it for myself as i really liked it. At first, it felt odd since i never wear powder scents but as time went on it started to really grow on me. Going through the comments i noticed how some people failed to mention how strong the powder note in this is- Maybe it’s just me but i was surprised to see vanilla and citrusy notes in this as i never sensed it, the most prominent notes to me were powder, white floral and maybe a bit of lavender and jasmine. The longevity is insane, i’d apply it on my coats in the winter and only felt the need to reapply every three days or so. I don’t think i’ve ever purchased a perfume this strong. The sillage was pretty strong but it’s what you would expect from or desire in a perfume. I would say it’s very spring-like maybe wintery too, it has a coolness to it. I personally loved it but i wouldn’t recommend it for anyone looking for a more mature, warm or even seductive scent. The best way to describe it in my opinion is very youthful maybe even child-like, clean, more suitable for the daytime but also winter nights, it can be a little overwhelming but it gets a little fainter as time goes by and you getting used to it, it reminds me of a cold empty white room.

AryanasPerfumes

I understand the hate in the reviews, I got some floral slight lavender touch of the original and then spooof, gone.Doesnt last….

lunarxphase

This is gorgeous. Received a sample today (despite ordering a regular Mon Guerlain EDP sample) and at first was very disappointed given the fact this isn’t what I ordered lol.

Unrelated issues aside, I am not disappointed by the scent itself. The lavender and vanilla combo is just heavenly. So far I have also sampled Sparkling Bouquet, and didn’t like the opening of that one much at all. I still feel that I would prefer the original to these flankers with the notes that the OG has but I would still consider purchasing Florale.

mhdavis

The lavender in this is sooo strong on me... it has survived multiple scrubbings, the gym, more scrubbing.. hoping it will finally come off in the shower. Needless to say I don’t have longevity issues with this. I do like the original MG and used to have sensuelle (sold it and kept the original since they are so similar). This one just doesn’t mix well with my skin, comes off super masculine and strong and makes me feel sick.

Eva.s 123

Very pleasant flanker. It has a DNA of the original, but it's more floral, subtle and bright. What a shame that it has been discontinued. I bought a back up bottle while it can still be found.
Anyway, the longevity is poor.

theuntrainednose

Tested a sample.
--

Somewhat fresh, somewhat powdery floral. Cute and nice, delicate.

Wouldn't say no to it if offered :) but in terms of powdery scents, but would prefer a little less vanilla in this one. I feel like, on my skin, the vanilla is a bit too amplified and does not allow other notes to shine as much. I enjoyed it more at the beginning where the lavender had the chance to shine more.

School7070

Very similar to the original just a bit brighter and lighter.
However the longevity is atrocious, less than an hour on me.
I wouldn’t bother with this one - the original and intense version are much, much better.

Diari

I knew from the get-go this would be a day time, hot weather scent but at the time when I first tried this, the temperature was not quite high and all I could detect was a strong, harsh floral note mingled with a bleached-out white musk that screeched inside the nostrils. However, we're hitting the peak of dry season here in Southeast Asia and during day time the temperature could go up to 39 degree Celsius. I'm currently wearing this on my arm and it's blowing my mind: the floral is still strong and noticeable but it's much rounder and fuller, there are more nuances to this scent now than in my first impression. I can smell the base of sandalwood, an iris note that keeps peaking out and vanishing, and the vanilla-lavender accord is present albeit much retreated in the background. In fact, when I came back to the space where I sprayed this on my arm, the vanilla-lavender smell was what perfumed the air.

A great flanker for summer.

violetx28

literally every mon guerlain smells the same to me...

CurrencyThat

I believe most folks could associate the smell of Mon Guerlain Florale with something their mom or aunts wore at some point in their lives. This isn't to say it's vintagey (it isn't) but it also doesn't stand out as something I haven't smelled which I suppose isn't the point of perfumery.

As far as the fragrance goes, it opens up as a light bergamot and lavender and quickly starts drying down to a sharp pronounced floral that’s rather perfumey (the mom & aunts reference) at heart. It has a vanilla base which helps neutralize its floral notes but that base does not at all stand out at first and only does so much initially as the floral notes are quite pronounced hence its name, Florale. For me personally, this middle phase (the perfumey phase) and the heart of its dry down, is unpleasant and lasts a few hours. Later into its dry down it becomes less sharp and more powdery with hints of vanilla (this is where its beauty emerges but it takes some time to get here - again, a few hours in my opinion).

Overall it’s mature without being vintage, works as an evening fragrance, is daytime appropriate with modest application, and versatile. Good projection and longevity. I wouldn't recommend as a blind buy unless heavy florals are one’s preference.

Lee SteL

I got sample of this Mon Guerlain.
It quite strong at first i worn it. And it fills my room (in tropical climate).
But it become smoother, and i fell in love with the based notes.
It very long lasting and very great projection on me
I want to buy full size
This fragrance is safe for u to blind buy.

Katieg

My daughter in law gave me this and I finished the last drop today. I had it for a few years and it kept so well. A lot of scents don’t but Guerlain are great at that. It’s a lovely scent, skilfully blended but I should like to know what the accord ‘Floral’ is. I got rose and peony but apart from that accord they don’t seem to be in it! And it lasts.

AnaisLouLou

Similar to the EDT, but with the lavender, bergamot and orange dialled right back. Not sure why those top notes in the description say, lavender, bergamot and orange because I don't think they come out front and hit your nose upon application. I'm wearing the EDT on one arm and the Florale on the other.

The Florale is delicate and feminine with a lavender background. If you wanted to smell gorgeous without your scent being obvious. I think it's really beautiful. Ideal, if you're working with children or need to be close to someone.

I have the Sensuelle, EDT, Bloom of Rose EDT and Florale. I like all of them.

Sreza7

The lavender does not mix well with whatever florals are in this. They clash together and are competing with each other. I much prefer the original mon guerlain.

jenniferg0924

I have been wearing this for a few days and really been testing it out.

This is very soft and beautiful. Sweet, but not cloying and not sharp at all. The peony is very prominate as well as bergamot with a hint of lavender and vanilla.

The only disappointment is this does not last very long on my skin. I get maybe 3-4 hours out if it; which is a huge bummer because Guerlain perfumes have excellent performance. The Mon Guerlain EDT flanker lasts longer than this one does. If I put it on my clothes and really overspray then it lasts.

The original is still my favorite but this is still beautiful!

Celinasusu

I like this alot but everytime I wear it my mom tells me that it reminds her of sweat?! But I can't understand how

golden.signorina

Amazing fragrance..
So happy so cheerful and mood uplifting..
Suitable for summer and spring..
One of my favorite summer fragrance
9/10 from me

ingeborgbachmannmalina

Compared to the original Mon Guerlain, this flanker blends lavender more gently. Initially, lavender and citrus leave a slightly alcoholic flavor. However, the flowers quickly join in the mix. Surprisingly, the base notes smelled like Lolita Lempicka on my skin. It must be due to the mixture of iris and vanilla. In this scent, lavender replaces the sweet-spicy sensation of LL’s famous anise note. Of course it's like a much more floral version. A light powdery, floral (a gentle bouquet) fragrance. It is quite suitable for blind buy. But its sillage is weak for an expensive brand like Guerlain.

MsLittlejohn

I like this a lot, it's very pretty, but it doesn't seem to last very long. After about two hours, I don't sense it on myself, and I haven't had a real chance to see what others think with us all wearing masks! 🎭 The after-trail it leaves on clothing is vanilla. On my skin I don't get vanilla until the dry down... I do sense lavender, peonies and iris. Other flowers that I can't distinctly pick out... I will try it a few more times, may be going back to the retailer or up for trade, though. At $70 for a 50 ml bottle, I expect more longevity and sillage. Could just be me!

Balletflowers

I love this! I’ve tried all the Mon Guerlain flankers except Rose, this is my favorite flanker! It’s similar enough to the original but noticeably different too. Sensuelle was exactly the same, edt smelled like Mademoiselle which I don’t like, but this is perfect! Its basically the same as the original, but less warm/cozy, more fresh. They took the vanilla down a notch & replaced it with more floral notes, lily of the valley sticks out more than peony to me. Still get that strong lavender, but it’s beautifully done! I LOVE this!

MissyJ

More subdued, slightly sweeter by a tiny bit and less of that short of shaving cream smell. It’s very nice but I think I was more wow’d with the EDP

aldinatic

the original is better-stronger-more calming, even if the dry down is almost identical.

senalica

Honestly - this reminds me a lot of Lancome's La Vie Est Belle. Same airy, gourmand-ish sweetness and both these fragrances project very similar on my skin. For me the floral notes here are a little too weak to call this a "floral" perfume. The vanilla note definitely dominates all the way until the drydown. A nice sweet fragrance, quite long lasting, but nothing too original in my opinion.

Astara_Elaria

Lavender Fairy Queen!

I found this to be exactly as described in many reviews and also quite different. It is hard to explain, I had a kind of travelling time with it. My journey started with a solid like and ended becoming love. Nice, mh?

So, here is my story: First, the topnotes are mindblowing beautiful to me. Lavender and some citruses, transported by a kind of flowery wind. But at the first day I had to struggle with the middle notes - I also got the high pitched, metallic note some others have mentioned.
But, after a few days, this note was gone. Or better: it revealed itself as a citrus fresh flower note mingled with some kind of flowery vanilla, nearly like orchids. I think, it is the ylang-ylang mixed with hedione and vanilla and only a hint of citrus. Sounds strange, but it's beautiful and reminds me of the way how vanilla was done in Hypnotic Poison Eau Sensuelle.
In the base there is the loveliest sandalwood, sometimes reminding an incense stick trace (but a high quality incense stick it is...).

What I like most, is that travelling with Eau Florale is like visiting former times of my life, since I have worn some Guerlains before, always in special times of my life. So sometimes I get a trace of "Jasminora" in the early middlenotes (reminding me of starting a new life in a new country), a whisper of Shalimar in the basenotes (worn in a very special fall at university) and the softness of the flowers mixed with vanilla and iris resemble L'instant (worn in a summer of love...). So, for me, Eau Florale is always a bit different, but also still the same. It carries memories of the past, but is still something new.
So, for me it is love. What else? But I have a big heart for many perfumes...;)
Last not least: For me, this is not so office appropiate. You can wear it to office, it is gentle enough, but you shouldn't. Because it is sensuelle in both a fairy tale and demure way. Your collagues could fall in love with you too easily...

As a collector of Guerlain I was curious about the Mon Guerlain line, but as an admirer of their more exclusive and classic fragrances (Mitsouko will always have my heart, and so many of their L'art et la matière scents are to die for), I was also highly skeptical of these new offerings.

Though I admit I was a bit drawn in by their amazing ad campaign featuring Angelina Jolie (whose vibes I appreciate more than her acting skills), what finally tipped the scales was all the fanfare Mon Guerlain was receiving for reinvigorating interest in lavender as a key note in feminine perfumes. My first Guerlain love was Jicky, which also foregrounds lavender, though the olfactory harmonies are vastly different, and certainly more of an acquired taste nowadays. I had also already sampled YSL Libre, with ambivalent impressions. Since many have said that Libre was trying to capitalize on the immense success of MG's lavender renaissance, I was even more intrigued. So I decided, with great eagerness, to give the Mon Guerlain line a try!

Sorry for the lengthy preamble! As for MG itself, I've managed to test the EdP, the EdP Intense, Sensuelle, and Florale (the extrait sounds lovely but it seems devilishly difficult to find). I haven't yet been able to sample the Bloom of Rose iterations, but I'm a bit tired of the direction rose has taken in mainstream perfumery recently. The original MG was nice but too unremarkable, too demure. I actually really liked the Intense version, but the there was something about the tonka and patchouli that were a little too stifling for me. The Sensuelle was nice, and I was surprised to actually find the lavender a bit stronger in it; however, they really amplified the sweetness in that flanker, to my dismay. It was the only one that registered as slightly artificial to my nose, and the performance wasn't great.

Florale, however, is absolutely delightful. Some have called it the least interesting of the group, but I find it the most sublime, the most well balanced. Lavender and vanilla is, at bottom, a jarring marriage: the dry, crispy, aromatic lavender does not exactly jive with the smoothly sweet depth of the vanilla. In the original MG, this gap is bridged with a powdery iris-tonka-jasmine accord. In the Intense, the iris is dialed down and the tonka amped up; they are both powdery notes, but iris tends to be more light and leathery (sometimes soapy) whereas tonka leans more dark and earthy. In the Florale, however, the tonka has been removed entirely, leaving space for a luscious floral accord of iris, peony, and jasmine. The result is a powdery-indolic-fresh triad that unites the lavender and vanilla. Warm sandalwood rounds out the edges, and some fruity notes (some citrus and peach) give it a crystalline clarity.

Taken together, this is an immensely welcoming, balanced perfume. It does lean a bit more feminine than its sisters, but who the hell cares? Its a gorgeous fragrance. The drydown is superb, the sandalwood, vanilla, and jasmine stealing the show in a slightly sweet, warm embrace. Better than average lasting power and sillage, and the bottle is cute, with a nice heft to it. I love the metallic guilloché band around the neck! There's something fearless in all of the Mon Guerlain scents (Angie really was the perfect choice), but Florale has a tenderness to it that makes my heart melt. For me, this works year-round, day or night. Oh, how I wish I could try Mon Exclusif!

DrRosie

This can be used as a great bedtime scent.

AlexandraTroush

This smells like the middle scent between the OG Mon Guerlain and Mon Exclusif. It has the creaminess and sweet vanilla from Mon Guerlain, and the sharpness and slight bitterness of Mon Exclusif.
I don't think there's a need to own it if you have any of the other two, it's too close and similar to be appreciated on its own, in my opinion.

Anyway, like the others I talked about, it's a perfect Mothers' Day gift, or just a gift to the wonderful women in your life. I don't think anyone would find this unpleasant or offensive. This is "perfectly average".

Mirabelka03

My favorite perfume, Love it! Very feminine. That's how should smell a girl/ women. all year around scent, l o v e !!!

sicklyrhetoric

This is strangely oily smelling on my skin at first. Its almost cloying. It moves on to become a very artificial lavender, something you would expect in a bathroom. I'll definitely give this a pass.

Got a sample of this at Sephora.

MaHa80Denmark

This is the best perfume ever❤️ And I have A LOT. Could I have only one this would be it.
I know it is very popular, but not in Denmark. I have never smelt this on anyone else. I love it and I feel unique, sexy (but mature) and feminime when wearing it.

flowerbomb81

Initial spray - a gorgeous, fresh opening which me makes think of Summer.

1 minute later - I get that hint of lavender which turns it into that bathroom cleaning product vibe that some people have mentioned... BUT WAIT...

5 minutes later - a creamy, fresh lavender.

Dry down - fresh, tiny hint of spice, lavender cream (I think the vanilla makes it creamy)... I get a vibe of being in a spa or a fresh lavender field with the scent of a citrus tree wafting over.

Overall it is nice, easy breezy, calm, relaxing scent that can be worn daily that has been put together to the highest quality.

OtterMoone

This is nice. It reminds me of perfumes in the vein of La Vie Est Belle, Flowerbomb, etc, without so much patchouli, which makes me like it more.

It can be cloying if you spray too much, and for that reason I can't quite "love" it, but just a single, small spray is very pretty. I'll definitely wear it again.

If I hadn't read there is lavender in this, I don't think I would have guessed. There is definitely a heavy/dark scent on top mixed with vanilla when first sprayed, but to me, it's not obviously lavender, just vaguely floral. Bergamot is subtly there too, and some sandalwood.

As it dries down, it "chills out" a little bit and becomes softer, with the lighter and sweeter floral & fruity notes shining through--hints of powder, peony, peach, and other flowers.

This is a good scent for women just getting their foot in the professional world who want to show their seriousness, while also continuing to enjoy their youth.

lrobin8205

The opening is stunning - beautifully blended but I thought I’d mention that I’m having a similar problem to SailorV. Something happens in the middle on my skin that is practically unbearable. I would describe it as a masculine funk. So sad. (Am looking to swap it)

ScentTower

I tried it and I have to say that also men can pull this off!!! It is not that much of an typical floral fragrance that comes across 'female'.
The thing is that it reminded me a lot of Allure homme sport eau extreme by chanel which is one of my most favourite perfumes ever...
Well I now I need to know if this is actually unisex because I can also see some offended people while wearing this as a man...still I felt great wearing it and on my skin it is a AHSEE with a let's say fresh/floral/sparkling twist!
I like it!

natalijaostojic

Veoma slican Mon Guerlain, malo je sladji i nema tu magiju koja ima Mon Guerlain.

Very similar to Mon Guerlain, it's a little sweeter and doesn't have that magic that Mon Guerlain has.

ismellsogood

Beautiful fragrance, fantastic dry down and lasts and lasts and lasts. It’s beautiful.
It’s different to the OG Mon Guerlain. Which I know had a lot of Woodstock notes or patchouli. Mon Guerlain’s dry down was great but it’s beginnings were a scrubber for me. If you don’t like patchouli then you will appreciate this, it’s so comforting and bright and joyful.

Everything from start to finish with this floral flanker is perfect.

MissMasha

An absolutley ethereal fragrance. Makes me think of Angels.
The florals and vanilla are so perfectly blended and lavander definitely does the trick from setting it apart from "basic" (not that there's anything wrong with that). But to me it does smell new. Like something I haven't smelled before... yet at the same time nothing hard to process.

It keeps you getting closer to the person wearing it. Since it has that warmth and relaxing feeling, but at the same time it's so enchanting.
I feel like this is one of those fregrances that you fall in love slowly. And you appreciate it more and more...instead of getting sick of the scent after a while. Well for me it was an instant love, but different from "ah I love this" and after an hour of testing..."hmm not that sure anymore"... I keep loving this.

It literally wears off as hello around you.

Subliminally beautiful. Perfect for fall.

Auragin

I'm sitting here breathing it all in... floral, powdery (but not too much so), sandalwood, citrus, bergamot, lavender, peony, iris, orange... and all that goes through my mind is the song "My Favorite Things." This is simply amazing. I couldn't even wait hours to review the longevity because I really don't care! Mon Guerlain has done it once more, and so beautifully, so tastefully. It has been three hours, and it is still going strong. I am still surrounded by luscious fragrance. Strong yet soft. Just brilliant on the dry down with the sandalwood right on point and the jasmine coming to the fore. And I am a complete Sambac jasmine fan. A blind buy with the bonus of extreme happiness! This is exactly what I have been waiting for, a signature fragrance to take me from Summer to Fall.

sidrasyzygy

I live for the dry down on this flanker. While I love the original, this is much more wearable for where I live--where it is humid and between 70-100 degrees all year round.

I feel that this is a year-round scent, I can wear it in the classroom and not worry about it being too "loud" for my students. This is the perfume that I want my children to remember smelling on my skin when snuggling.

That's not to say that it is a "mom scent", not by any means--this can be a very sexy frag. My husband loves it.

I like that it sits close to the skin, but if you prefer strong silage that announces your arrival, this may not be for you. Easily lasts 5-6 hours on my skin.

Mon Guerlain Florale does not need anything else, it is beautiful on it's own but it is also lovely for layering if you like experimenting and creating a unique mix with a warm vanilla-lavender sandalwood base.

muahah

Powdery, lavender, some sandalwood bergamot, lily of the valley. Hints of sweet from peach and orange. Somewhat clean, inoffensive perfume. This is something very different from original. It's most interesting at first minute, but when it dries it looses uniqueness and interest. For me it's close to skin scent and disappears in about half hour. In some way it reminds me lighter and fresher version of Alaïa Nude, but remove leather note.

huda_jubail

Mama mia ❤️
This is absolutely enhanced version of the original.

I have both Mon Guerlain (this and the original) bought them 3 months ago, and I kept wearing the Floral more than any other perfume.

It’s so addictive feminine, soft, elegant and makes you feel the kindness deep within you.

Perfect 👌🏻

I have so many samples of the Mon Guerlain EDP and Florale, they really want me to buy these! I've been satisfied of the original, a too strong opening but everything I love in the dry down. I liked the original because it wasn't just floral, but also has a sweet soft spicy roundness. I was reluctant to try the Florale version because I'm not really into floral floral perfumes.

The opening of Florale is softer than the original, Florale starts as a delicate citrusy floral, the original opening was a harsher vanilla vanilla lavender bergamot scent. The lavender in Florale doesn't stand out as much as it was in the original, I smell many flowers right away, beautifully blended, then the dry down keeps continuing into soft sweet florals. It's easy to wear, versatile. On me the sillage is short and the longevity average.

I'm not the most floral perfume girl, I won't run to buy this perfume, but I don't mind it either because it's still soft and cozy. I will use my samples easily when I feel soft floral. Overall, the dry down of the original is more up my alley, between the two I would choose the original.

AmiraZidan

I simply love this version over the original.. once spraying i feel so refreshed may be the mix of lavender with citrus that makes it so unique and beautiful. Can't get enough of it i keep sniffing my self like crazy.
The first impression and the dry down is so perfect for me.
This is going to be my Weeding perfume ❤️

colorfulmess

Floral, powdery, vanilla, woody - the accords are this scent exactly. It does have a bit of vinyl going on. The lavender isnt very prominent but I can tell it does make this a fresher vanilla.I haven't smelled the original Mon Guerlain but I love this one. Its sweet and spicy and I love it year round. It fades fast so I'll need to buy a bigger bottle next time.

SailorV

Mon Guerlain Florale is similar to the original MG and I also have the same feelings about it, I like it but don‘t love it. I think it‘s actually the more interesting fragrance out of the two, because the peony and floral notes lift the fragrance up and let the lavender shine even far into the drydown, when the original slowly turns to a typical vanilla-tonka gourmand on my skin. The opening is really beautiful, too, it smells like a buttery lavender cookie with candied flower petals and I first thought I would fall in love with this fragrance.

But unfortunately, I get an unpleasant note in the middle phase for several hours. I‘m not sure what it is, but it smells medicinal and sterile or even metallic to me and spoils the rest of the scent, until the vanilla base pushes it away. It might be a skin-chemistry thing, anyways it just doesn‘t work for me even though I tried it several times.
My search for the perfect sweet lavender fragrance continues. At the moment I have high hopes for the new Mon Guerlain Intense which is supposed to hit the market in autumn.

florally

Just a quick note for anyone else who has avoided the original Mon Guerlain because of the licorice note, and isn't sure of its presence in Florale and the EDT: the Florale doesn't have it at all to my nose, and there's no anise alcohol in the ingredients, but the EDT does (to me), and there is anise alcohol in the ingredients list. :)

dahrling

This is what I imagine heaven smells like. I find this otherworldly, it's an experience in itself smelling it (in my opinion, of course). I've sampled it a few times to make sure it was not my nose tricking me, but this has always smelled gorgeous (although especially in rainy or cool weather) in all kinds of ways and it really is just stunning. It is femininity at its purest - both girly and motherly at the same time. it's just an ideal fragrance, versatile to wear at any occasion, this could never be inappropriate in my opinion - a bride could wear this. It's just gorgeous - clean and sweet at the same time and every other good thing in the world together. I LOVE it.

P.S: I'm not sure how much skin chemistry is a factor here, but I don't really get much lavender on my skin - or maybe it's just a very pink, candied interpretation of it? It does smell very cooling at first spray, then it just becomes a gorgeous fresh, floral vanilla on my skin.

terezzz

A gorgeous scent for spring! It smells very similar to the original but I prefer this one because it's more airy and floral. The lavender is still prominent but the tonka is dialled down making this less sugary sweet. Sillage is heavy for 2-3 hours and then it sits closer to the skin and you get whiffs of it during the day. It's a very pleasant fragrance and anyone who will come close to you when you're wearing this will be intoxicated!

ChocolatesAndHoney

Had the opportunity to test at my favourite beauty shop and I think it does not smell much like the original MG. It's powdery and a bit soapy, overall a very feminine scent, but for me it's lacking that delicious vanilla, that make the original MG stand out so much!

FumeL'ver

I just blind brought this and I'm not disappointed one bit. I haven't tried it on my skin yet since I literally just opened the package but I sprayed it on the box a bit and instantly got lots of happy thoughts. I had done my research on it as I normally do before I buy my fragrances and I was curious of this one in particular because vanilla is one of my favorite notes and I had run out of a fragrance with vanilla and lavender in the top notes so I wanted to get a different fragrance that had these two particular top notes. I'm very glad I chose this one. It's beautiful, sweet (but not cloying), sparkling, calming, soothing, gentle yet strong. I absolutely love how the flowers blend with the other notes here. I can't wait to try it on my skin and see how the notes develop! I used to hate powdery scents but I'm really learning to love the powder notes in different fragrances so I'm looking forward to noticing the powdery aspect of this perfume. This is perfect for Spring but I feel like I'd wear it in all seasons.

Lotv73

This is my favorite Mon Guerlain. To me it’s the prettiest. It’s just a lovely floral. The original Mon Guerlain May be the most unique, but it is not my favorite.

minag

Adore this concoction! I am a fan of the original, but the overdose of tonka and sweetness in that one tire my nose and occasionally make me queasy. Florale is indeed more floral than the original and has a lighter, airier, wispier, more fairy-like quality. As the original, Florale is still cozy and comforting, but less like a blanket and more like a silk cashmere scarf; it seems to float about me, whispering of sweet flower and lavender fields as I move about. Very pleasant!

Note that there is most certainly a base of patchouli here, which is not something I particularly enjoy in most cases, but the patchouli is light, smooth, and warm in this case, and works well to ground the dominant florals and vanilla. And somehow, despite the patchouli base, which makes most perfumes linger on my skin for eternity, this one becomes quite light quite quickly. I think I get about 5 hours after which I can't really smell much at all unless I stick my nose where I sprayed.

Overall, a great one to choose if you loved the original but felt it weighed you down rather than lifted you up.

EternityFresh

I absolutely love the softness of this perfume. I do wish that it lasted a bit longer on the skin, but it is just so pretty that I don’t mind reapplying. Very nicely done!

lovelybear

Let me say first, I am in love Mon Guerlain Perfume. I had been waiting to try the Florale version for quite some time. It has everything I love and the rave reviews only fuelled my fire. As I doused myself in it at first chance, it reminded me of something, something very familiar...it smells just like Versace Crystal Noir!!! It does have that play-doh smell that Versace CN has, which I do really like. So interesting when the individual notes are so different for each perfume. Anyone else think so?

SucaBecca

I've been trying MGF for a month now...it was love at first sniff, a truly blast of joy, and the large bottle was immediatelly added to the top of my Santa's list. Many other reviewers already so well explained better than I d be able to, this flanker feels much more complex, interesting, wearable and fresher than MG.
MG imho is flatter, and I miss much the enticement MGF has to me. I adore the opening phase of MGF!
The downside of MGF to me is that it totally disappears after about an hr...that is so sad! I even tried layering on lotion, then layering other edps on top, in an attempt to increase its staying power, but then all I can smell are the other scents:(.
Longevity is very important to me, so I sadly face that wont be a repurchase.
I m convincing myself that it may be some weird thing with my nose/or my chemistry...I do not sense it at all after an hr or so... so envy of you all that can enjoy hours of this blast of joy - :)
ps: I just read the article "Partial Anosmia" and that explains why MGF has such a short longevity for me: I dont detect the vanila(?) or sandalwood(?) that "carries the middle/ base notes of the scent - I just really smell the first hour of it...that must be the reason why I barely sense MG as well....

Little_dragon

I'm a huge fan of the original Mon Guerlain. When I first smelled this in the store on its release, I couldn't really tell the difference between this and the original. However, today I found a sample of it that I'd stashed away, so I tried it on my skin. I loved it as instantly as I had the original! I think they also could have called it "Mon Guerlain EDP Intense", because to me it's like an intensified version of the original. I agree with the reviewer below who said that Mon Guerlain and Mon Guerlain Florale are different enough to justify owning both--which I'm about to do by investing in a bottle of Florale. It's a fantastic, smooth, sweet (but complex), versatile, office-friendly fragrance that would probably be a pretty safe blind buy for lovers of lavender, tonka and a hint of warm jasmine.

darcy_xx

I am in love with the original Mon Guerlain.
To me this is quite different, I was expecting it to be a floral on vanilla based instead of lavender on vanilla that is the original Mon Guerlain but I cannot really smell much (if any) vanilla in this at all.
It's more like a soft floral and while still a very nice scent, it's lacking the uniqueness than the original has.
I don't think I would recognise this perfume if I smelled it on someone.
This is nice and soft though, not for me but i think it's different enough to own both.

sugaryrose

Wonderful fragrance.I remember the first time I tried a sample of it, I fell in love. Extremely feminine, not in a seductive way but very gentle. It represents the maternal side of femininity - a gentle, kind and caring woman, protective and full of love. Great for women of 25- 40 maybe. Longevity is decent. It's sad that projection is so weak. It turns into a skin scent in about 30 minutes! So nobody knows you're wearing perfume! Only you :( One expects more from such an expensive fragrance.

purplepearl

I don't remember too much about this scent, but I tried it in the store and I definitely recall disliking it. To me it smelt overwhelmingly herbal and sickly. Also very strong. Now that I read people mentioning that it has lavender in it - it makes sense. I strongly dislike the smell of lavender!

SaraX

I really get the pretty fresh and airy florals in this one and I like this much better than the original Mon Guerlain. Which is a shame since I have so many bottles of the original stocked up in my perfume shelves.

This is a younger, lighter and fresher and obviously more floral version of Mon Guerlain. More playful, more fun. A beautiful floral scent, which has that powdery base of the original Mon Guerlain in it.

LadyIva

My previous review of Mon Guerlain Florale was downvoted and removed, although it wasn’t scathing or anything. I just said - and I stand by it - that this scent is hardly ‘floral’. To my nose, this flanker does not provide any significant departure from the original Mon Guerlain - it’s still all about lavender and vanilla. I don’t like the lavender note in fragrances and toiletries - it reminds me of moth repellents and air fresheners such as Airwick. Anyway, there’s no accounting for taste.

lanelipton

Melon, wet, smooth, feminine. Kind of lush. Inoffensive, yet noticeable and special. Great daytime fragrance in a dresser-worthy bottle.

canadianpetite

Saw this pretty pink bottle in a magazine at a dental office and I made a mental note to check it out. First five minutes gave me sambac jasmine tempered with something herbal, which I have decided must be the lavendar. After half an hour, it turns softer, powdery but floral and steers clear of fruity territory. Very feminine, non-distinct and will appeal to general mass, which I would use for work so as not to offend. Since sillage is short, you neither announce yourself nor leave a trail of your whereabouts.

One spray on me:
Sillage: nose to write
Longevity: an hour which is mostly next to skin
Rating: 3/5

violetstorm

i just got this perfume today & it is AMAAAAAAZING !!!! what a beautiful floral scent very romantic & ethereal
i feel like a fairy floating thru a garden of lavender :)

the lavender is blended perfectly.....its not strong so u gals who fear the lavender dont lol - this is a soft beautiful lavender which is blended very well - after sniffing my arm it puts me in a dream state literally lol :)
so sniff away & dream ahhhhhhhh..................

i love the dry down notes as well.........iris a fav - never can go wrong there..........and sandlewood & vanilla - wow what a super combo........the vanilla on me is a bit more prominent but the mix of sandlewood & iris softens it up very nicely and yet still keeping the lavender lingering - love it !!!

i dont get the other notes but then again i am not the nose expert like so many of u fragraticans lol but i do know its a beautiful dreamy scent :) a perfect powdery floral !!!!

Nosmo King

I agree with redsky, that Mon Guerlain should have been this!
This is a lovely, soft, sweet floral. It opens with a pleasant lavender that I do not detect in the original, although it is listed in the notes. The dry down is a lavender-vanilla that is not too sweet. The original is much sweeter to me, a little too sweet (just my opinion). This one lets the lavender be the star. I really love this scent and could wear it daily any time of year.
It lasts a few hours and stays close to the skin.
Edit: Rating 10/10 this is truly a special fragrance

redskyatnight

Color me surprised!

Sephora substituted this sample in my latest order, and I figured why not try it since it was free. It was only the iris that I wanted to smell, otherwise I wasn't interested in a more floral Mon Guerlain as I tend toward warmer and darker perfumes and already have Mon Exclusif.

But I honestly think this is the best among Mon Exclusif and the Mon Guerlain line. WOW. The notes are in perfect harmony, as in the Guerlains of old. This is a Champs-Elysees-esque floral bouquet centered on lavender instead of lilac and mimosa - so smooth and uplifting. MG Florale is slightly more masculine and aloof than the original MG, with the addition of iris and possibly some white musk to cool off the lavender. It is still very feminine too if you can imagine, just more sophisticated than Mon Exclusif and Mon Guerlain. The vanilla harmonizes the fresh bouquet in a dusky, dewy sort of sunshine. Though the lavender tempts me to think of this perfume as a light-medium purple, when I strip away all expectations it actually evokes a milky jade.

What's more is that Florale has the best performance. When I run out of Mon Exclusif I will be replacing it with this one. It is a little more grown-up, and the rose-gold accented bottle is so classically beautiful. THIS IS WHAT MON GUERLAIN SHOULD HAVE BEEN. There would have been no need for flankers if it were so.

Eicher

I fall in love with this truly florale perfume. Unfortunately, both sillage and longevity are poor. Test it on you first and wait for its development.
I tried it, loved it and bought it on the spot. Would have never thought to have such a soft and short-lived projection.

monicabalteanu

I tested the two Mon Guerlain perfumes again today and I like the Florale better than the original so I ordered a 50 ml bottle! This is an elegant but strong scent! It is the only lavender fragrance in my wardrobe & here the lavender definitely stands out, which makes the scent a tad masculine; maybe that's why my hubby likes it so much! Anyway, the more I wear it, the more I enjoy it! It is a well-crafted fragrance, yet a bit intriguing: somewhat cold and somewhat warm, which makes you feel refreshed, elegant and self-confident during a hot summer day! Longevity is good but I suppose it depends on your skin, it lasts a lot longer on the clothes. A bit loud when it is sprayed, it has a moderate sillage for about half an hour, then it sits closer to the skin, which I find very convenient.

perfume_infatuated

Theoretically, this should be naturally enchanting for powder lovers. It's perfectly blended, and longlasting. I can smell almond (or coumarin, either one) and a hint of lilac in this perfume, which aren't listed in the notes pyramid. So, I could be mistaken.

The perfume holds few contradictory faces:
- It's so pink, cute, and innocent, yet in a classy, non-girly way.
- It's warm from the powdery notes and the sweet-almond-vanilla (or sweet-coumarin-vanilla, either one), but still holds a cold refreshing vibe from peony and lavender.

The dry down of this one reminds me "at some point" with (Gucci Guilty Eau), despite the different openings and directions, until they meet somewhere. A safe everyday option for the summer, and probably very neat with smart casual outfits.

Anyhow, this perfume seems to be dependent on skin chemistry. Sharp, masculine lavender is evident on the types of skin that tend to absorb perfumes very quickly. Else, this is really ethereal and sincerely feminine.

cufberte.daniem

While the two are incredibly similar, that doesn't mean one can't be better. For me, this one is better because it a.) Lasts longer and b.) It smells a bit more of lavender and white flowers.

If you have the original, don't bother with the flanker. The two don't differ enough to even worry about it. Plus, if you like the earthy / fungal accord in the original, this is void of it.

Also, this smells nothing like Purple Fantasy.

Catty

When I smelled “mon guerlain florale” for the 1rst time it came straight to my mind the immaculate image of elegance and grace from Kate Middleton in her sister´s wedding talking to Charlotte. Kate Middleton pictures the guerlanish elegance and class of this fragrance. A simple but extremely well blended scent: graceful, classy, bright, polite and luminous.

“Mon guerlain florale” is “the sunny/luminous” side of the “mon guerlain” original.

I sprayed this gem 3 times on me and the longevity was of 8 hours and projection of 3; top “guerlain” quality. The combo vanilla + lavanda + flowers is not original in the perfumery but these ingredients are blended here with all refinement and fineness from the guerlain “savoir faire”… you walk and this delicate warm flowery brume embraces you all the time.

A very well crafted scent ...a flowery garden warmed by a sunny vanilla; very graceful, simple and extremely elegant.

kl99

Purple Fantasy is almost back.

iamoir

The main accords that are very apparent are: lavander, pink floral-sweet peony, macaron sweetness and patchouli. Now, patchouli is not listed in the notes breakdown but the whole scent results in a sweet floral-patchouli drydown. There is an Angel vibe for sure, but Guerlain Florale is tamer. One good thing is that it's perfumey, it definitely smells like perfume and not like food. Has a lasting power of six hours and just simply fades until total dissapearance.

Generally it's a lovely scent, personally I don't see anything original, quite common, it's everywhere; I'm not saying it's bad quality, it's good, it's fine, it's safe, it's just too mainstream.

karen.fiallos

I love it!!! I love the original and this flanker is even fresher and it has something enchanting about it, imagine walking through a field of flowers and incense... It's not a typical combination but it smells heavenly. At first spray I was in love after dry down the original Mon Guerlain appears, vanilla and sweet lavender though a tone less sweet. This is the best Guerlain fragrance to me so far! Curious about the compliments I will get I already got plenty with the original version. Strong, confident and above all unique. This is now on my top 3.

Beautiful! One of the best new releases, along with Flowerbomb Nectar. It's different enough from Mon Guerlain original to own both. It's more floral, less gourmand/Oriental. I really smell the lavender in this version and am reminded of Jicky with pretty florals added. Longevity is good. This was a blind buy and I was not disappointed. This is large bottle worthy. Just so pretty and unique enough to wear the Guerlain name. This one is most definitely worth trying, imo.

Cathped

Not so impressed. Smelled better from the bottle then on my wrist. Drydown is almost pure lavender. If I want a lavender perfume, I'll buy a lavender soliflore perfume...

The original EDP version was an okay scent, but this one really makes my head dizzy.
It's so strongly floral, spicy and vanillary.
More oriental than floral, but there's lots of different floral notes. It seems like it contains literally everything.
Lavender, neroli, jasmine, ylang-ylang and iris are all there. I also sense sandalwood and vanilla very intensely.
That perfume is too much for me.

Jmalone84

Very soft and feminine. Prefer this to Mon Guerlain. It has a nice subtle warmth to it, an unassuming sweetness and a gentle floral aura. I would consider buying this. It has good sillage and longevity, such that it makes itself known but certainly does not overwhelm. I sense the peony, iris and woods more than anything else. Vanilla lends the warmth and roundness. As someone who uses a lot of lavender oils and fragrances, I can honestly say this does not smell like lavender to me. Additionally, while tonka supposedly isn't in this version, it smells very much present to me.

If I could choose two words it would be warm and pretty.

Update: bought the 100mL bottle. Wearing this today and have had more compliments on this than anything I have ever worn. Also, I detected the lavender in the initial 20 seconds but it disappears into the rest of the fragrance nicely. I adore lavender, so I like that it's there, even if I can't detect it as a single note. Absolutely lovely, just the right balance of softness and warmth. This is the prettiest fragrance I own, and I believe it is appropriate for both work (spray lightly), and socialising/ romance etc.

cocolover56

Quite nice. I still prefer the original, tho. This feels much more transparent. Maybe we didn't need more lavender if it comes at the expense of full body

charlotteding

I love this it smells so classic . Just purchased a full bottle of this. The dry down is lovely I prefer it to the initial spray. There's something in it that very very slightly resembles the original juicy couture but It's not similar as a whole this is better
I prefer this to the original mon guerlain as it has better longevity on me and smells more crisp and fresh while still having a pure creamy vanilla dry down, it's also Devine on a warm sunny day love it

brisa74

Though you can get the floral touch from the beginning, this perfume smells clean, like a classic floral soap with hints of vanilla and lavender. Very nice to wear with the body lotion, which is even more soapy-like. Lovely perfume.

violinorama

In my opinion ,after the sprayed, first hours it has some disturbing note. What it was, i couldn't find. After the 2-3 hours this parfüm is transformed and similar to mon guerlain. But I think mon guerlain's vanilla much beautiful than florale.

comfortablynumb83

I am so in love with florale! As in love as I am with the original, which is my favorite perfume. For the people saying that it smells too similar to the original, I am here to remind you that this IS a flanker to the original, so obviously it will smell similar!!!!

Florale, in my opinion, is a bit more aromatic than the original and obviously more floral. If you haven't smelled the original it is a lavender and vanilla combo that is aromatic, fresh spicy and a bit sweet. Florale is absolutely beautiful and just addictive! I can't get enough of this juice! It is a tinge bit more subtle but maybe this is the one for those that thought the original was a bit too "loud'.

Soofiya

I have a love, hate relationship with mon guerlain.I find it pleasant and cozy and vanilla-lavender blend is unique and appeals to me.but there's something in it that bothers me.maybe it's bergamot which I think doesn't go well with other notes
When I first tried Mon guerlain florale I thought it's a watered down version of the original.other perfumes I tested that day, covered it and I could barely smell it on my hand.but the other time when I smelled it on paper blotter I was wowed.it's dry down was heavenly gorgeous and not faint.I couldn't stop dreaming about it and was sad that I can't afford a bottle(they only sell 3.3 oz of it here and it's 100$).fortunately my man bought it for me as a Nowrooz gift(Iranian new year)
J love,love,LOVE it!
It's 70% similar to Mon guerlain.the same unique vanilla-lavender combo but lavender is a bit tamed here.bergamot isn't intense or sour.it's a bit more sweet and the most important change is that a lovely floral accord is added.I can really smell peony, jasmine and iris and they blend so well with vanilla-lavender combo.I even love the subtle sandalwood base and though I usually love tonka and benzoin,I don't miss them here.
It's warm, sensual, classy, clean and feminine.a comforting scent which can be even a signature! I guess sillage is moderate,I haven't received any complements yet but longevity is amazing.this softly powdered floral-vanilla scent blends with my skin very nicely and lasts for a whole day
I'm so glad to have this lovely perfume.now I wish they create an intense version,a gourmand one with lots of buttery caramel and toffee, amplified tonka, benzoin and lavender.
Edit:
I like it's opening but I adore it's drydown. It's so beautiful, feminine and elegant.but I'm not happy with it's sillage.it's a great choice for indoor events but when I wear it outdoors I can't smell it without sniffing my skin and people around don't notice it without hugging me.but longevity is extraordinary.it lasts as a gorgeous skinscent for days.If sillage was better and it was more than a soft skinscent in it's gorgeous drydown,I would call it one of my top five favorites

HUEbris

To me, it is totally different scent. more fresh, add more muguet characters and neroli scent. and some aldehyde vibe with soft powdery. dry down is quite similar but more ambery, rather original is vanilla powder. I can detect lavender in original but in Florale, I'm not sure. anyway it is very wearable in spring.

I've never sampled Mon Guerlain on my skin and today I made the first effort towards it. I've quickly smelled the original before and dismissed it as too simple and vanillic. Today I approached the bottle again and the first smell took my breath away - something just clicked. I was transported to some hazy old distant memory that is just one inch out my reach. Then I looked at the cap and noticed the rose-colored ring. It was the Florale version! Before I judge this as a better version I have to go back and try the original because the Florale alone is absolutely mindbogglingly beautiful.

I adore Mon Guerlain. I love it, it captivated me, I am enamored, it is my inamorata. Like many here, I’ve gone through bottles quickly, and as a perfume connoisseur who has bought into the idea of a perfume wardrobe, it is surprising that I reach for the same one on most days

I bought Mon Exclusif too, for the history of this scent, and also adore it; how can one not as they are identical? So of course, I was going to buy its first flanker. I’m more of a floral woman than a caramel one, so I expected to fall deeper in love.

Not so. It’s almost like they took the best parts out of Mon Guerlain and added a weak flower. It’s like a deboned chicken or a champagne that has gone flat-the richness is gone, the pop removed.

The first spray is almost alcoholic; sharp, teasing the nose, but then it settles into a light citrusy floral, almost lemon blossom. I can smell the lavender better than in the original, perhaps because the fresh floral addition lifts it up. Peony they say, which I don’t get specifically. Soon though, the gourmand part of Mon Guerlain follows but doesn’t quite mix with the lavender in the way the original so creatively does. After a while it settles and becomes Mon Guerlain; differences mostly disappear. The dry down takes you somewhere new. It is pretty, the drydown, a gentle vanilla flower, but you must go through some odd phases to get there.

I live where it gets very hot in summer, so maybe my opinion will change as the weather heats up. Maybe this will be Mon Guerlain for 100 degree weather. I like it; I don’t regret my purchase, the familial scent is obvious, and I will wear it. But it doesn't inspire passionate love as with Mon Exclusif/Mon Guerlain. I miss the deep creamy vibrant experience of the original.

Sillage, projection, longevity-none of that is as much as with Mon Guerlain, although longer than many fragrances. It is truly lighter, yet I’ve still had compliments on the Florale from people a couple feet away. If you don’t like Mon Guerlain, I think you are unlikely to like Mon Guerlain Florale, as it is similar. But I hope I’m wrong, maybe this is the one that makes you fall hard.

I promise, whatever is next, whether an Intense version or another flanker, it will be on my very crowded dresser. I love the original enough to try all of its incarnations. Guerlain has always been my favorite House and Wasser my favorite nose. Hard for me to go wrong.

Musky4

I loved Mon Guerlain and finished my bottle recently so decided to give the Florale edition a try and asked for a bottle as an Anniversary present. Well today’s my wedding anniversary and I’m wearing Mon Guerlain Florale but I have to say it’s a disappointment. Whereas the original had richness, depth and lasting power, Florale is simply a weaker version, not as sensual as the original and is very mediocre in comparison. I could hardly smell it at all after spraying liberally. The original is better in every way in my opinion and I regret asking for this rather than the original, which is so much more beautiful.

Arielrose

I love the original Mon Guerlain and was happy to see a new 'springtime' version being released. I think it's a perfect addition for the warmer months and retains the same spirit of the original. The same gorgeous Lavender/Vanilla notes are present but the main difference I am getting is that the heavier Sandalwood and Jasmine notes are toned down, the Patchouli is removed, while the Peony, Bergamot and other sparkly florals give it a lighter, fresher quality. As much as I adore the original, it can definitely get a little overbearing in the summer heat and humidity. For me it's better in cooler weather because of the deeper heavier notes, which always become 'brown sugary' on me. The Florale has a brighter tone while not losing what I love about the first scent. I'll definitely have this in rotation for the warm months ahead.

I received a sample of this when I repurchased my beloved Mon Guerlain, in the larger size this time (I used up my 50ml bottle in under 5 months). Florale is a pleasant flanker fragrance, light and youthful but still well-blended and classy. I like it a lot, but it is nevertheless a watered down version of the original Mon Guerlain. Lovely for springtime and if you don't like too much vanilla and coumarin, or if you prefer a lighter scent for everyday wear. But for me, Florale doesn't have the airy yet rich and sophisticated patisserie fragrance-feeling which makes the original MG so addictive. The original is unique, complex and delicious and like another reviewer says, keeps its throne. Mon Guerlain is a queen, Florale her handmaiden.

genny17

I love Mon Guerlain , it is an exquisite aromatic scent, unique..This version is very different, the uniqueness is gone, which is typical with flankers...it is nice, but a bit too powdery for my taste...I do detect some lavender in the top notes, and I was like, great!! , but the fresh aromatic vibe goes very quickly..and you are left with a powdery floral.. ..it is softer, no sharp edges, feminine, pleasant, and predictable..longevity is nice, but the projection weak
I bought a big bottle before receiving my sample...I think I will repurchase the original, it is so good in my opinion...this is a nice pink version, definitely diluted, but easy to like ! Like Gabler said, it doesn't come close to being as interesting as the original, it is very forgettable.

Gabler

Is Mon Guerlain Florale better than original? Oh, no. And where´s the main difference? Mon Guerlain is calm, soothing & almost meditative - it has a classy French charm /high-end vibes included/. It´s ode to lavender. Mon Guerlain Florale is uncomplicated, more fresh, floral, joyful & carefree, like a young girl looking forward to summer, it´s a nice city scent for every day. But you know, Mon Guerlain wasn´t dethroned.

Kanz Oman

strange that D&G pour femme intense & givenchy ange ou demon aren't added within people would also like as i find them very similar to the notes of mon guerlain. overall, it is a nice comfortable scent but not new to the market as it's kinda familiar.

Arlene-Beatrix

Strange floral scent, it's even hard to tell how it smells like. It's like diluted first Mon Guerlain. That one was too sweet for me, but his one is just weird.

Minnie02

I just tested this one today and I agree that it's very similar to the original.

These are the subtle differences that I picked up on: the bergamot is a little bit more present in the opening, there is a new scent of a fresh-cut flower bouquet swirling around the lavender, the vanilla sweetness in the dry down is toned down, and it's slightly less powdery.

It is very pretty but since I already have the original, I'm not sure it's worth it to get this one too. I'll have to test it again to make up my mind on that. For now, I still prefer the original.

I do hope there is an intense version, or some other flanker, coming in the future with the lavender toned down a bit and the sandalwood and vanilla cranked up!

UPDATE: I did end up buying it. I love Mon Guerlain and Mon Exclusif, and Florale breathes freshness into those favourites, making it perfect for Spring/Summer!

reborn

No need for this version. Not too different from the original, just less potent and more watery. It does not have the WOW factor as Mon Guerlain.I think this version will go away from the shops soon ,maybe till the end of the year

Ellie-7

If the Lavender was left out of this I might have liked it.
If you like a real "Fresh" or "Soapy" fragrance then you will like this one. I personally appreciate more complex sensual scents.

Mon Guerlain Florale is simply stunning! I have been enjoying it for the last week. And I have been smitten!

Upon first application there is a burst of Bergamot mixed with such a wide array of floral notes it is hard to pick them out. Within a minute the Lavender becomes most prominent just as it is in Mon Guerlain but here I find a just a tad stronger. The legendary Guerlain signature Vanilla holds the bouquet together at this point. Just beautiful!

Then after a couple of minutes the vibrancy of the Peony and powder of the Iris becomes noticeable. As does some other floral note that is honeyed and musky. It is Neroli. This is the Neroli I remember as a child. My hippie Aunt Mona wore Neroli Oil. I love it here. When it is combined with the abundant Sambac Jasmine this juice is quite hypnotic while one is experiencing this layer.

In the next layer I start to detect the same amazing Sandalwood here that is in Mon Guerlain and the most beautiful Ylang-Ylang as well. Together they perfectly ground this mostly Floral composition. The dry down is a soft Floral with nuances of Vanilla and Sandalwood. Very nicely done.

I would say Florale is similar to Mon Guerlain but it has its own character. There is no Benzoin or Tonka in this flanker making it lighter, more sparkling and a little less cloying. A great alternative for Spring and Summer.

I also have to compare it to Chanel Gabrielle. This is like the older more confident sister of it. I know there is no Lavender in Gabrielle but this seems to be what Gabrielle was trying to become. I love them both but Mon Guerlain Florale is just a little more...well...just more!

The sillage is huge at first then it becomes more moderate. The longevity is about five to six hours. I highly recommend this if you want a beautiful floral that performs. My new baby! I give Mon Guerlain Florale a 10/10+++

My review vanished??!

Okay, this opens up with a delicious citrus meringue, laced with bergamot, and as that melts onto your palate, a jasmine sorbet is offered, finishing with a lavender ice cream, topped with Mon Guerlain syrup.
It’s lighter, I think than MG, but maybe I like this better. I think I’d have preferred it to be purple and not pink, or even green. I feel the pink is very watery looking and this is not a wateryperfume. Longevity=good.

auroramaria

Just tried Florale at Sephora here in Italy and I find it really gorgeous! It retains the same DNA of the EDP but Florale has a clean and powdery feel which makes it really sexy! It is still rather sweet but so well blended. The lavander and peony here are just beautiful sillage and longevity are moderate but very noticeable. It is a very elegant and sensual fragrance I am in love

MeThePerson

I’m sure that an intense version won’t be far away with Thierry Wasser’s record breaking flanker productions... July-August 2018 if not before... Mon Guerlain range is a mere conception up against spankers like LPRN...
‘Spanker’=flankers being relentlessly released or ‘spanked’ yes I would like to take credit for this term!

Brynn Penelope Harrell

I love love love the smell of lavender and vanilla! I, Mom and my sisters can't wait to buy it!

comfortablynumb83

I agree with the comment below. An intense version would've been great.
I can't wait for this one! Just got a 3.3 oz full bottle in a swap 2 wks ago of Mon guerlain and I've already used 1/3 of it. It's all I've been wearing lately! I'm positive this will be just as great!
