Scandal by Jean Paul Gaultier is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. Scandal was launched in 2017. Scandal was created by Daphné Bugey, Fabrice Pellegrin and Christophe Raynaud. Top notes are Blood Orange and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Honey, Gardenia, Orange Blossom, Jasmine and Peach; base notes are Beeswax, Caramel, Patchouli and Licorice.

New pillar fragrance from Jean Paul Gaultier is launched in June 2017 in collaboration with PUIG and named SCANDAL.

Scandal is designed to break all clichés, offering something new and modern, and at the same time powerful and elegant. The key notes of the composition are blood orange, honey, patchouli and gardenia, which united share a creamy, earthy and balsamic gourmet effect, with warm, deep, woody undertones.

The bottle of the new fragrance SCANDAL is made of transparent glass while the stopper is designed in the sculptural form of female legs in a golden color.

This is the first fragrance of Jean Paul Gaultier launched with Puig company. The brand stated that they wanted to offer a different version of previous fragrances from the Jean Paul Gaultier collection respecting the well-known DNA of the brand and "to stop the fever of limited editions." The goal is to create something more spicy, festive, sexy and fun, from the bottle to the campaign.

The advertising campaign was created as a mix of sex and politics. “We decided to tell the life of ‘Madame La Ministre.’ She’s a government minister who goes partying at night in Paris’ Pigalle neighborhood and makes her way directly into the office for her day job. The advertising face is model Vanessa Axente, leaving a club in a form-fitting black number. In her waiting car, filled with friends, she’s literally cut out of the outfit as her car speeds through the streets of Paris toward the Élysée Palace, where she steps out elegantly in a tailored outfit to join colleagues," explains Jose Manuel Albesa, chief brand officer of Puig.

Scandal is available in 30 ml Eau de Parfum; 50ml Eau de Parfum and 80 ml Eau de Parfum. In addition to the Eau de Parfum, the collection also includes perfumed body care products: a Shower Gel of 200ml and a Body Lotion of 200ml.

Such an underrated gourmand!! I dont get alot of white florals from this one until the drydown, but right off the bat,CARAMEL HONEY!! So delicious especially when you get another whiff and smell the teeny bit of citrus which reminds me of this lemon honey cake snack I have in my country,Its very delicious and seductive yet also sophisticated and perfectly between mature and youthful, its equilibrium between sticky sweet and clean smelling,It smells like a beautiful woman to me

Silvuna

Gaultiers are one of my favourite perfumes and this is no exception. A long lasting with good projection, gourmand, sweet perfume. A combination of honey, white flowers, citruses and patchouli. Quite potent and more suitable for cooler weather or night out.

_nuenue

Nauseatingly sweet. Final boss of cloying. Very hyper feminine though. If you like the artificial femininity vibe, go for it. Reminds me of Karen from mean girls

sillybobilly

Scandal is an over-the-top, in your face kind of fragrance; it's sweet, sickeningly so, but addictive to the point where you want to go back in for another whiff. Strong, overly feminine, reminds me of the kind of girl you're too afraid to talk to in high school. As much as I love it I'd be lying if I said it doesn't make me nauseous. Regardless, I think it's a great pick for your textbook "girly girl" (the bottle is also adorable so).

2bClare

An extremely feminine, sweet, strong, young and over the top fragrance. Reminds me of Love Don’t Be Shy on steroids. Scandal has a syrupy honey note that pervades it and makes its layers of sweetness feel almost dense. This honey combines with the caramel to create a marshmallow note similar to the one in LDBS. Rich white flowers have met their match for intensity in this cloud of sugar, so they peek through and around it, but you always feel their slight tinge of indolic muskiness. Patchouli comes in during the dry down but it doesn’t tame the sweetness much. This is a perfume for clubs and bars and nights out. It sends a message and that message is “ Pay attention to me”. Definitely not one that should be over sprayed though if it’s worn in confined spaces. Monster sillage and longevity.

astralmonad870

Unlike other gourmand notes like caramel, vanilla, or amber, I don't mind when honey is a bit on the heavy side. Even if it's heavy in this one, I still think this could be an everyday signature scent for someone. The blood orange note is delightful and freshens it up.

colorblindlove

Smells like heavy honey and white florals. I was planning on returning it but rebl scents wouldn't accept the return. I ended up liking it but now I'm starting to not like it again. It's just really heavy and honey isn't my preferred gourmand note in perfumes.

Hollyhock38

I love this perfume, I mean love! I cannot live without it, I have back up bottles! It's what I imagine the colour pink smells like. It's beautiful, very strong and very sweet. I love jpg all their perfumes are strong, quality projection bombs. I have just ordered the newest scandal flanker as I the others, I'm sure I will not be disappointed

LauraLR

To me this is a perfectly blended perfume in that I really can not tell you what notes individually I am smelling. That said, I think the patchouli must be what gives it an animalistic sexy vibe. Anyways, my husband loves it and it works well for that.☺️

Bijousmere

Dripping with sugar sweet.. also very floral. STRONG opening. I like it, but not enough to buy a full bottle ( have a decant atomizer from scentbox). I definitely feel sexy and confident while wearing this. It's not a humble perfume, you wear this when you want to be noticed. Not good for the office.

Ayshin

Opening of floral honey and dried down to a somehoooow gourmand
Very basic and has nothing special
SPL is poor, last 2h max on me. Doesn't last at all!

TinyNomz

I got this as a sample. I was surprised by how acrid this scent opened. It was metallic and bitter and made me sneeze several times. I was ready to run to the washroom to try and get it off when it shifted. It was like a switch flipped as it warmed and dried. Suddenly it was sweet, warm, and soft. There's a hint of honey and caramel, a drop of vanilla. I cant detect any oranges, and no cat pee smell either, thank God. It seems to be hanging out close to my skin, but that may be due to it not being a spray. I imagine a woman going to dinner in some exotic local by the sea in Greece or Italy, in a light, airy dress that billows in the slight breeze and trails the golden warmth of this scent behind her.

Nomen

Now, after I used it up, I want to say out loud that this is an exquisite modern perfume. Modern, because it's a true gourmand as many nowadays, and exquisite because it's done right. The sweetness is on the verge of being annoying, but it never steps into the girly candy territory. A bit boozy, a bit powdery, a bit sharp, and never immature. The honey is to lick your fingers good and inviting. I don't get the cat piss reference.
One spray does it. They don't make mainstream fragrances like that any more, so Scandal was quite a surprise for me. I got it as a gift, thank gods, otherwise I would never even bother to test it. The atrocious legs and tacky name should keep decent audience away, sadly. The good part is that my 30 ml bottle has a simple cap (no sticking legs, only a tiny pendant).

Letmeregister

Even If you love it, I recommend buying a smaller size. It's the sweetest perfume I have smelled, vanilla perfumes aren't as sweet and heavy as this one. It's also very strong and in general not mass pleasing. In the opening you get some artificial oranges with a lot of honey (a lot is an understatement). In general it stays linear till the dry down, all other notes besides oranges and honey are very faint. I used to love it and bought a full size, but now I get tired of it easily.

the_scent_wizzard

The perfect perfume for date night, it's so sweet and sexy, very long lasting too! Although i wear it during the day too (because I love this perfume) I do not recommend it, I think this is a night time fragrance. This is not everyone's cup of tea and the only people I ever get compliments from while wearing it are men, don't know why it doesn't appeal much to women.. some say it gives them headaches so make sure you're not overspraying!

farben

I used to own a bottle of this a few years back and I haven't really smelled it again since finishing it, therefore my review could be a little outdated and shallow, since I'm only pointing out what I remember stuck out to me at that time.
It's definitely a "heavy" fragrance and wearing it can be almost like a statement to some, since it can be quite bold at times(especially in the opening). Can mostly be worn as a sexy fragrance which showcases one's femininity.
The orange blossom and jasmine notes are prominent after it dries down, however you can still feel the other accords quite well, making it an interestingly blent gourmand. It also goes from extremely sweet to sour, which can be intoxicating for some noses.
After wearing it for quite some time, however, you can get bored of it, which is why I recommend switching it up from time to time.
Based off my personal taste, I think this could layer well with "Black Orchid" by Tom Ford since the sweetness of it could be a little toned down by balancing the liquorice(or at least that's what I smell whenever I apply "Black Orchid").

Britneycollector

This, on me has a very sour note to it. Lovely perfume but it's very basic smelling after you've gone through 50ml, nothing special. Won't buy again due to that sour note.

marialena888m

Floral honey, marmalade (orange jam), and just a tinge of powder. Juicy, thick, sensuous and hyper feminine. Very sweet, probably the sweetest scent I own, but it is quite distinctive and unique. Honey definitely dominates this scent, and the citrusy orange-jam note fades away with time, allowing the caramel, beeswax and patchouli in the base to add an extra rich, gooey texture to the honey sweetness. Don’t wear it if you don’t want any attention on you. Slightly on the mature side, for women over 25. I love it but don’t reach for it often because I need to be in the right mood for it. Sillage is strong and longevity is stellar. It has potential to be suffocating, so watch how much you spray and make sure you’re not going to be stuck in a small room. I’d wear it anytime of the year as long as I’m in the mood for it and it’s not too warm or too cold out, I think it smells especially tantalizing on mild and breezy spring/summer evenings outdoors. It still smells good in winter, but the cold does ‘flatten’ the scent quite abit and you don’t get the full spectrum of notes.

Durumi

This is such a perfumy perfume. What i would imagine a womans perfume to smell like. I dont like the smell it leaves on clothes, as some people said i also smell urine. Idk what gives that note. I found a flanker that didnt have that note now they updated the flanker with aprhodisiac(??? maybe patchouli)and it smells exactly the same and i am so sad. Edit: i like it now 😅

Leeenas

I’ve got this as a tester and I love the scent. It smells like pure honey. I can’t stop smelling it. It’s very comforting and sweet.
The thing with this fragrance is: I love to wear this at home, I love to wear this after showering when I go to sleep, but there is no occasion outside of my house where I think it would suit the situation. No function, no event, I wouldn’t wear this to work. I still want to buy a bottle, because it’s a beautiful fragrance, but it would be a bit sad to not really use it like my regular perfumes.

Letmeregister

Sweet white floral fragrance that is also fresh. In the beginning the orange is pretty noticable but later on it completely changed into white florals and honey. Very pretty, feminine and universal. The lasting power is good. Although the silage is weak.

lefemmediablo

I dont get the hype about this at all. I love gourmand smells dont get me wrong. This gave me the experience of eating a spoonful honey and get my throat burn from the sweetness. This is not a good honey perfume. Honey is not balanced at all. Pretty sure this could make sick the other people in the room.

QueOndaGuera

I like Bee by Ellis Brooklyn so I was hopeful to like the honey note in this. I can definitely smell the honey but unfortunately the patchouli and licorice really comes through and compete in a way I wasn’t fond of. It’s a strong performer though if you’re looking for a powerhouse fragrance

pareoil

Top note is sour and sweet in the good way. Not too sweet at all.
Everyone talks about honey note while I don’t even smell it.
It’s a strong scent and I don’t know what occasion should I use.
So why does it smell like male/masculine fragrance when it reach to the base note? Although it’s sweet smell.
Not for me.

sandraaalindgren

This was a blind-buy that I thought couldn’t fail cause I love sweet fragrances and especially honey and peach but oh lord… The patchouli ruins everything. This could be a fabulous perfume but it smells like body odur on me. Gonna sell this to someone who likes it.

gzbnyz

this was my signature in high school and i was suffocating my poor classmates with only one spray, thats how strong it is

loves2read

One of my first ´real´ fragrances. I absolutely adore it .It´s sweet, it´s fun, it´s my pick-me-up scent. You have to be careful when applying, as it lasts forever and projects well. Honey is really strong for me.
The bottle is adorable, too.

nordlanderin

Ironically, of all Scandal perfumes released up until now, the original one is my least favourite. Those honey and animalistic notes really make it seductive, but there's also something apothecary about it that I can't ignore. I guess it's the side effect of the base notes? Anyway I'd totally prefer So Scandal or Scandal le Parfum to this.

Freakyindia

Right off the bat, the bottle design had me hooked, lol. It's got a sweet smell, kinda leaning towards the stronger side, but not too heavy. This isn't really an everyday scent for me. I'd rather save it for a night out or maybe a date. Personally, it just gives off those seductive vibes, you know?

wondervalley666

Such a great fragrance I’ve had in my collection for more than a year now. I love JPG scents, I’ve thought they were the sexiest since I smelled the male fragrances on guys I knew 20 years ago. I’d even steal sprays for myself sometimes. I own most JPG scents now. Scandal isn’t one I reach for a lot, but that’s only due to my overly large collection with too many options to distract. Scandal is definitely a scent I need to be in the mood for. I find I like it best in cooler temperatures. It’s very thick and sweet, like wearing actual honey. I get a lot of beeswax too. I hated patchouli a LOT for a long time, but scandal never bothered me as I couldn’t identify the patchouli. My nose has improved and I can smell patchouli now, but I recognize that the other notes in this scent completely change the patchouli from smelling like a “hippie.” It ends up coming off more like a sweet musk. Almost like Angel but softer, with less fruity, more honey. Longevity is outstanding. A handful of sprays last until the next day. Projects more than an arms reach when fresh, radiates 1-3 feet from the skin after drydown. The scent is quite linear. It doesn’t go through phases for me.

Overall this scent is quite sexy, bold, and intense. I wouldn’t recommend it for shy girls who prefer whisper soft perfumes. It has a very classic feeling. My personal favorite was the Scandal by Night flanker before discontinuation, though that was more of a cherry musk than a honey musk. I also like the Gold flanker a lot, though that is more of a sweet oud rosey musk. Neither really capture the magic of the original.

I’d recommend sampling this to every sweet sexy gourmand lover. It’s pure “sexy honey.” A touch funky. Extremely seductive.

Make sure you buy/sample the real thing. Unfortunately found some fakes over the years. They might sometimes smell similar, but I tossed them because they lacked everything good about the original (depth, performance, originality) and smelled cheap and watered down. The real bottles always have metal caps (fakes have plastic caps painted silver) and the shoes/ankle bands are defined clearly on the real ones while the fakes look like they used a cheap mold that lost the definition and have a bit of a melty blurry sort of look to them sometimes. Also 5 sprays should last you 12+ hrs of the real scent but the fakes require a dozen spray reapplication every few hours.

parvatishallow

JPG has a very sticky and gooey approach to perfumery. I love this one. It's heavy and loud.

barbatos

i had this baby a while ago and i'm going to repurchase later this year. now, what i'm missing from the accord pyramid is the "powdery" title. :) don't get me wrong, i know very well that based on the note pyramid Scandal doesn't have any typical ingredient that would make a scent powdery (except maybe the orange blossom...) but on my skin the dry-down is a delicious caramel-honey baby powder which i'm simply crazy for. of course this dry-down only comes about 8-10 hours after i sprayed it, before that point the juicy blood orange and apricot notes replace the baby-powder-like... something. well, maybe it's just my skin chemistry doing its funky little things again.
she's a beast, a rather sexy one, and she's not going to go unnoticed for... better or worse.

klu23

Uwielbiam, zbierają komplementy. Bardzo trwałe, inne osoby czują te perfumy z kilku metrów. Bardzo słodkie i seksowne :)

catalina422

I am on My second bottle of this one, it's absolutely delicious, fun and sexy, I love it, this perfume started it all for me 😍😍

Zerana

I had to give it away because it's too much for me, felt a bit nauseous too. It's very sweet but without any personality unfortunately.

bellsprout

this is what gaga was talking about when she said 'i wanna smell like a sl*t'

JoyDivision

What a magnet! Yes, girls. It attracts men like metal studs. It's sweet, intoxicating, and juicy. It's like carrying a big sign that says 'available, come and get it'. It's definitely the perfume I wear to go to a club with friends or for a date night with my husband. Men love it, women love it, no wonder it's been a super hit since it was released. Perfect for fall and winter but I wear it in spring too, especially in the evening. Girls, do me a favor, try it and go to the club. You can thank me later.

pureangelgirl

been obsessed with the honey note in this lately, very princessy fragrance :)

LoveBitch246

I dunno if my nose is broken, or if it doesn’t project on me that well, but I don’t get heavy or cloying with this at all. It’s certainly sweet, and has the JPG DNA, but it’s fairly tame in my opinion. The opening is more complex, but it is well-blended to the point that individual notes really can’t be teased out. This to me is in a similar class to Prada Candy, sweet, sexy, not too loud, but I prefer Scandal more. My husband likes it, says it smells like cotton candy (he says this about EVERY sweet perfume lol). I like it too, but not enough for a big bottle.

Cecilie.l.s.m

I immediately get associations to Loverdose by Diesel.
However, the scent is more sour than sweet.
Licorice comes through clearly.
I would never use this perfume for evening wear.

I really like the scent, and it feels youthful and cheeky.

vlilly

i used to wear this a while back because i received it as a gift, but i eventually got sick of it. the opening reminds me a lot of wish by chopard. it's very sickly sweet at first and dries down to an authentic honey and licorice note. not my cuppa tea.

Gillzathrillza

I’ve gone through my first bottle of this more rapidly than any other in my collection - I am compelled to douse myself liberally in it more frequently than I’d like to admit.

It’s got that heavy and sweet feel to it, which is almost too much to bear - someone below mentions Loverdose and I get the same feeling from it. The honey is syrupy, the caramel is thick and the patchouli sustains - I just love it.

It doesn’t last as long on me as some people have mentioned but it’s decent performance and the sillage is good.

A warning: going too hard and heavy with this can turn it slightly sour and funky so I am quite careful to tailor my sprays to the occasion or location.

I’m finding that JPG can do no wrong when it comes to perfume for me - I love everything I’ve tried.

BadMongoose

Opening is interesing but the dry down is literally the smell when you open a not so fresh honey pot and scoop a few spoons for your tea. Not for me at all, quite nauseating.

Saboba

Very sweet perfume with a strong Honey note, which is great. But it has the same nauseating profile like Bath & Body Works Luminous, Black Opium and Chopards Wish. Absolutely not my cup of tea. But they really made the Honey note really realistic.

NBXO

very sweet and strong, sexy and perfect for a night out of just everyday wear. Can be overpowering when applying

Belphegor

sweet floral scent with a salty opening, after drying down, honey becomes much more dominant. It isnt overwelmingly sweet like poison girl, but it smells sexy and edible, the bottle design definetly fits the scent. This is the sexy and a bit promiscious girl that likes to wear pink, gold and glitter.

Anarig97

I like this fragrance. When I initially sprayed, it smelled very sweet and floral, which made me think I had picked up the honey and the white flowers. However, on dry down, it smells much more like beeswax and patchouli, which I can understand why beeswax is a polarizing scent. I like the smell of beeswax, and I like the smell of it on me, so it doesn't offend me. However, it does smell like I just rubbed a Burt's Bees chapstick on my wrists, so I think for the price tag, that sophistication is missing. I wouldn't buy a full bottle of this, but I definitely want to pick up a travel-size bottle to give this perfume another chance. I read on the JPG website that this fragrance makes you want to get freaky with men in random Parisian neighborhoods, and I will say it definitely does not make me feel that way.

Ajlina

I bought this in Rome where the October weather was very warm (think halterneck with no jacket at 10pm) and it was a beautiful sweet fragrance with a very noticeable orange opening. Brought the same bottle back to cold London (think jacket, umbrella and scarf at midday) and all I can smell is... Ginger?! Ginger isn't mentioned in the notes so I think I'm picking up the patchouli but the sweetness has completely disappeared and it's just green and spicy. If you're buying scandal for the sweet notes make this your spring/summer choice because I think heat is needed for the sugary warmth that drew me to Scandal in the first place 😭

Evanquake

I bought a 30ml bottle of this today. It’s a gorgeous fruity, fresh fragrance. The honey and orange sticks out to me and there is a continuous liquorice scent the whole way through. I hate liquorice in perfumes - Loverdose by Diesel is the same and I really am not a fan, however, this one works very well. The floral middle notes help to create the fresh, clean scent. Love this fragrance.

Wanda Zimny

Perfect Beach Scent 🌴🌊

Shanty36

I love this perfume. The opening is fresher than you would think based off of reviews, and then it settles into a really nice, warm, caramel honey with a faint touch of patchouli. I have to say, it’s not as beast mode as everyone says but it is the dead of winter in the Pacific Northwest so none of my perfumes last very long on my skin at the moment. It’s also not as sweet as the discontinued edt, and I have to say I like this one more. It smells divine and i love wearing it out.

Glyceryl

When first sprayed, it smells bright, juicy and sweet. Unfortunately the dry down is not my favorite - it turns into straight up beeswax and dirty patchouli with a hint of sweetness. This is not a perfume that you can just throw on before you head out the door. To me this requires a specific occasion - like going out to an old school jazz lounge or something lol I’m not sure when I’m ever going to wear this. I will keep it on the off chance my skin chemistry changes with it.

Emmouko

Jpg - Scandal
I love this perfume . For me its sweet and i can feel the honey and the gardenia first . It dries down very well

Im_only_lurking

I am convinved that no JPG fragrance is good for me, this one being the worst of them all. Just basic and perfumey? Worst thing is it smells like the cheap sugary honey. And we have a looot of good honey in my country. All in all doesnt leave an impression.

It is strong though so if you like the fragrance you're lucky!

yulikat

So many reviews called it a honey bomb saying its too cloying but honestly i think its ‘richer’ than that as in its not straight up too sweet. Theres something underneath that makes it a ‘womans’ perfume. Nothing special tbh

Mae10

this smells so average to me so basic i dont get the hype

Hifza

I am not that fond of caramel and honey in a fragrance, if some one likes to wear it on themselves then this scent can be the one however, I do not prefer to wear such strong and sweet scent. At some point, it becomes very sharp and it feels like that my head is gonna explode!

hilarisa

Maybe ı am wrong but its smell like a cheap girl. There is no special thing.

sashazor

The opening is WAY too strong on me, smells like orange cough syrup, if that was a thing. Overwhelmingly sweet and synthetic, and that would have put me off from this forever- if it wasn't for that GORGEOUS drydown.

On my skin, it smells like sweet, fresh jasmine, orange blossom, and a dash of honey. It's spring down here and this scent works surprisingly well for the current weather during the day! In winter I feel like the scent feels more "dry" and not quite as smooth.

That licorice note at the end can be a little cloying for some, I ADORE this on my skin but I can see why this wouldn't work for everyone. It can certainly be a bit "much".

Monstruous sillage, VERY strong longevity.

Edit: I still can't get over how stunning it is after the opening notes. PLEASE try this during warmer spring/summer weather, it flows so much more beautifully. It's appropriate for all year, but I find it best for warmer evenings.

chiaraherself

I was so excited to try this because of the honey note but it just smelled like pure sugar sweetness to me with maybe a hint of beeswax :( not my skin absorbing all the honeyyyy

aprilsantiano

Honey in a bottle! This is one of my favourite gourmand scent and I am a huge fan of sickly sweet perfume!
I have the By Night and Le Perfum flanker and I just like this a bit more than By Night and last Le Perfum. It must be that Animalic note that screams sexy to me. I disagree that this is a "stereotypical" - I would rather smell stereotypical than smell like an ashstray just because it's "niche"

Go with your preference ladies and never listen to the naysayers on this site. Try it for yourself and make a decision.

nicbat

I received a free sample of this and washed it off after 10 minutes because I did not want to waste a day wearing this when I have many other fragrances. It does not smell bad, but it is very generic. It smells like when you would open a magazine in the 90s that had a perfume sample in it. I did not pick up any particular notes, just that stereotypical "woman's perfume" smell. I also really seem to dislike fragrances with orange blossom in them, so I'm sure that did not help.

Zana1970

This is a birthday present from my sister, it is not something I would choose, I love Scandal Le Parfum, which I have and is not a gourmand on me, I am not so in gourmands, but heyyy...for shore I will use it! But the sillage is great, and I like it more as Scandal night, that is a sugarmonster, ugh..

sluththth

A very sweet honey & caramel scent. I don't get the citrus at all. Nor the florals. Smells very delicious.

cocodust

I have used half my bottle,I do like it but find it a bit shallow in the sense I get a sweet honey-ish note which is nice but not much more.

PLUMPIE

A pretty honeyed orange scent with a smoky undertone on my skin. Rather sweet but not as sweet as everything else launching in this genre as of late. Not very long lasting for the price actually reminds me of The Body Shop Honey scent or Armani code minus the sharp jasmine. Pleasant but not for me.

I got this as a blind buy during the summer and put a pretty huge dent in it right away. It was love at first sniff! This is very floral, sweet, and warm. I’m usually not a floral OR honey girl for that matter. I feel like not a lot of honey notes are done correctly, but here, it works so well. I was even hesitant with the licorice note because that’s usually an immediate no for me, but I detect the licorice ever so slightly and it also just works combined with everything else. It’s very potent and long lasting which I love because I don’t have to use as much. It makes me feel very sexy and scrumptious and bold. I think now that I got the initial obsession out of my system, I’d say it’s better suited for cooler months because of the warmth and sweetness, but personally I’d still wear it on a breezy summer day.

When you spray this perfume, you'll smell it as you walk, people around you will notice you, you'll still catch the scent from the sweater you wore five days ago, and when you open your closet, it hits you again! This fragrance accompanies you throughout the day and turns you into a walking candy. Is it a truly unique scent? No. Are there similar scents from other brands? Of course. Do you feel feminine when you spray it? Yes!

WhiteFlowerPrincess

I really don't like this fragrance and I find it harsh, sickly sweet, cloying, pungent and heavy smelling. The bottle is incredibly ugly and tacky too. Not classy or refined at all.

Scandal by Jean Paul Gaultier opened up immediately with a harsh and sour fairy liquid combination of blood orange and mandarin orange on me, but I guess I could see where the perfumers were going with that though. They were trying to (unsuccessfully) tone down the garish and sickly and treacly sweet smell that was to follow. The horrors!

I loved the mixture of the gardenia, orange blossom, jasmine and peach but the addition of honey was just too much and took what was already a very sweet heart to this fragrance and dialed it up to the nth degree! I felt like I was getting a toothache just smelling it and I needed to go to the dentist after that.

But oh no... Scandal was not finished with me yet! This fragrance had to beat my nostrils down to a pulp by adding pretty much more of the same sickly sweetness with beeswax and caramel... beeswax and caramel I tell you! I honestly can't think of anything more tooth decaying if I tried. But it only gets worse, with a bitter patchouli and licorice that renders this more sickly sweet cough syrup from the pharmacy than delightful first blooms of May. Absolutely atrocious!

Scandal ended up lasting 9 hours on me (the things I do to review fragrances) and it projected 6 feet from my person. Wear it at night during the fall or winter if you must, (so as not to render this anymore sickly sweet and nauseating from the heat and warmth of the sun) but don't be surprised if people pass out from this.

Honestly, a 2/10 in my opinion and a good contender for a fragrance that should be discontinued instead of the gems in the fragrance world that didn't deserve that fate like my favorite J'adore L'or 2017.

Its been 5 years that im wearing this frangrance and i cant get enough… magic in a bottle 💫💫💫💫

LARADELREY

chri5tin3

I really didn't like this on me in cooler weather. So much so that I stopped wearing it altogether and put it aside to sell. It smelt like sweet bug spray. The honey note was clashing with the patchouli and it was just a guaranteed headache each time I tried to wear it.

Fast forward a few months later, it's now spring in Australia and I decided to give it a spritz as I was cleaning my shelves. Okay... I had to do a double take as this didn't smell like the same fragrance.

The bug spray vibe was still there but it was way more tolerable. It became sweet, citrusy, and floral. The jasmine, blood orange and honey took the wheel as opposed to the screechy patchouli I smelt in colder weather.

It's still going off my shelves as it is headache inducing but I can appreciate the quality. It lasts all day and projects really well. Try before you buy.

D0LLFACE

This smells like honey tastes if that makes sense. It’s the sweetest honey, I mean honey, if you’re not the sweetest! This is the Leo in the room getting all the attention. Life of the party type fragrance. Sexbomb Jessica Rabbit type fragrance. It gets ya noticed okay?

neferpitoo

I heavily dislike this scent, it is super floral to my nose, there is a very slight bit of honey in the dry down but overall floral and pink-peppery. It hurts my nose, I much prefer Scandal Le Parfum which is very sweet conpared to this but anyways

The performance is incredible, on my skin it lasted AND projected for a solid 6 hours, and lasted well over 12 where I could still smell it radiating off me, constantly being aware of the scent throughout the day. I wish my other perfumes I actually like performed like this

Rober7a

I tried Scandal by Night couple of years ago and it was way too heavy, sickly sweet and just too much of everything. So I was kinda turned off from trying original Scandal as I heard they were so similar, but I wish I did, cause this one is goood and much more wearable. Don't get me wrong, it's still very rich and sweet, I'll be going easy on the nozzle and probably wear during nights out or in colder weather. I always wanted a good honey scent, and this one comes very close, it's honey blended with some florals that go really well together in their combined sweetness. 🍯🌸 So it's not so straightforward edible honey, the florals give it a bit of elegance and maturity, but combined it's just sexy, warm and openly seductive, you cannot hide your intentions with this one.

solida

If you're looking for a fragrance that's sweet but not too childish, give this scent a try. It's playful and pretty with a subtle yet noticeable scent that lasts a long time. The fragrance is versatile and can be worn on different occasions.

mabelangel

i don’t really hate this scent but i definitely don’t like it. i love all of the scandal flankers but this is just so sweet! almost sickeningly sweet. the honey note starts off tame and slowly becomes *very* aggressive. its consistent throughout but not so much that you cant smell the other notes. i can definitely get some citrus and 100% some peach, but not much else! the jasmine, patchouli and liquorice are very light and only really come out after wearing it for a while. it kind of reminds me of a ‘fun grandma’ scent. really good if you’re a fan of sweet scents but don’t underestimate this perfume like i did

sv02

a sweet and pretty fragrance that only gets prettier the longer it sits, I read that some people couldn't smell honey but I personally smell a fresh floral honey the longevity and sillage are strong. I don't know what it is but this perfume has something addictive that makes you want to spray it on

I think this perfume can be too sweet for many people quickly though so for blind purchase I would advise against it

but all in all, you get value for money

sunnyviolets

Lolita Lempicka that actually performs, just add caramel. And some LVEB.

ANNAFRYS

I do not feel honey but its happy; pleasant everyday perfume. I would say moderate sweet and political correct nothing else.

stardenise16

After trying to sample this perfume for a few years, I finally got to smell Scandal at an Airport. OMG, it’s one of the best designer perfumes I’ve smelled. It’s so juicy, sexy and addicting, added to the wish list.

samsam the great

where can i begin. i sprayed this probably a year ago on myself at a store and i am not exaggerating when i say it was love at first sniff! i gravitate a lot towards sweeter scents so this certainly did not disappoint. the sweetness was not childish or girly (think ariana grande perfumes), nor was it too mature and ambroxan-laden (think l'interdit) but it was its own category. it is the definition of a date night fragrance. it's feminine, sexy, and overall, very addictive; a label which i do not easily ascribe to perfumes. lasting power is phenomenal, it topped out at 8 hours on skin and even more on clothing. sillage is astronomical but not in a nauseating way - it will have people asking about what you're wearing. whenever i wear this, i always without fail get compliments. it instills confidence unlike any scent i've tried.

the notes are incredibly well blended, though the honey note is most prevalent, probably because of its intrinsic uniqueness. the dry down is almost like a creamy, white floral combination. i will, however, say that it is not a scent to be worn in the heat or humidity. i live in the middle east where temperatures in the summer can peak at 53 degrees celsius, so for now i really only wear it when i'm indoors or when i'm somewhere cooler (25 degrees or less!). it's definitely more of a nighttime scent, but wearing this in the daytime will definitely make you feel unstoppable.

overall, it is safe for me to say that this is my favorite ever perfume. i highly recommend this to anyone looking to add a floral gourmand scent to their collection. if sweeter scents are out of your comfort zone, this is an amazing introduction. i think on a scale of 1-10, it would be an 8 in terms of how safe of a blind buy it is. hope this helped!! :D

VanillaPeaches

If you love the smell of honey, this one is for you. It smells like honey and jasmine flowers to me. My husband LOVES it which is why he bought it for me.

AinoKaroliina

This is a STUNNING perfume for honey lovers.

In the top notes I immediately get a honey note, it's realistic so it's very sweet and delicious. I also sense the floral notes and they go together with the honey beautifully as freshness of the florals perfectly balances the sweetness of the honey.

There is a smooth caramel note in the basenotes and a liquorice note. If you are interested in this perfume but the liquorice scares you a little bit, don't worry because this is a beautifully blended perfume, where everything goes well together. The honey scent is present for the whole duration of the perfume and is the main character.

I'm surprised by some comments saying it's nauseatingly sweet or overpowering, it really isn't either. It might seem that way if you overspray it, I personally spray this 1-3 times and I get a beautiful and pleasant result. I've noticed that honey scents in general don't suit some people's skin chemistry, but on some people, like myself, honey notes work very well. So maybe this is not a blind buy safe perfume.

to put it in a few words this perfume is delicious, feminine, high quality, long-lasting, smooth

Pwaladdi

Something in this reminds me of L'Interdit Eau de Parfum. This is a happy scent for me.

coffeebean83

I have a review on this but it's buried way down south. So I'll just say this; This is a very polarizing scent. People are going to either love it or hate it. If you like subtle scents than Scandal is probably not for you. It's extremely sweet, a tiny bit dirty animalic and in your face for the ones that enjoy those types of fragrances. I personally love it and it's a top contender for my all time favorite perfume.

Utopia76

A few months ago, I was in a perfume store, and thought ‘let’s try this Scandal’. I didn’t like it, it smelled like cat pie or something, probably the beeswax and honey were not appealing to my nose. Now, I got a sample with another perfume I bought, almost gave it away, but wanted to try it again, and the first 10 seconds were the same as before, but then, I constantly get whifts that I like a lot, and it reminds me of V&R Flowerbomb (I never smell flowers in Flowerbomb, only seductive sweet honey cookies). Because I have Flowerbomb, I will not purchase Scandal, but I am happy that I’ve tried it again. What I did, is order Scandal by Night blindly, I hope I will love it.

MichelleAntonia

For me, this is a great example of a rich scent that's totally done in by the modern zeitgeist, which entail turning up the gourmand to sickening levels. The honey, the floral, the caramel... they're all exceeding max levels here, and it turns what would other wise be a nice, rich, warm floral into something that's nauseating. I can't wait until the gourmand on steroids era is over, maybe concepts like this will actually smell good. I can't help but imagine what this might smell like if it were conceived of in the 80's or 90's... much better I suspect.

Miumori

I like the opening notes, sweet fresh n floral. But the dry down smells like intoxicating honey. Too sweet and reminds me of perfume that rich grandma would wear.

Actorfellow

My first thought was this smells just like L'Interdit by Givenchy, I was surprised to see this was actually released first! L'Interdit by Givenchy has a strong pencil shaving/woody note which I love and this does not!
I get a lot of the grape-like tuberose accord although the note is not listed. Great Projection!
My skin is on the sweeter side so I cancels out the honey smell for me and all I get is a sweet floral smell.
The opening is beautiful, the citrus smells fresh and sweet and not sour at all. The Peach & Licorice is barely there.
The bottle is stunning! Highly recommend!

Edit: In the deep drydown I’m getting the beeswax, it’s a deep/animalistic smell. I was worried it would be waxy Bo smelling, but it is sexy.

Nimu

I wore this fragrance after not having used it for many years and I like it.
To me its a little bit soapy jasmine but mostly its a gourmand.
I smell waffles and syrup with some fancy recipe of a vanilla ice cream with caramel and roasted hazelnuts.
I find it great for summer!!!
I went to the beach wearing this and i could still smell it after swimming for an hour.
It got even better combined with the sea salt and breeze.

Andy224

Strong, sweet and long-lasting honey scent.

Melody Valentine

It's alright but I prefer La Belle and Classique. It opens up with pure honey, goes a bit fruity floral then it's back to the honey smell with the bees wax. Dries down to patchouli, besswax/honey and a very faint whiff of liquorice. I'm sure I liked this more when I first tried it ages ago but now it's just a like, not a love. I'm not a huge fan of the honey smell. I like sweet notes but I'm just not sure. It could probably grow on me but I'm not gutted I only have a sample, well two samples. I wish I had two samples of La Belle instead. I find that one sweeter but less sickly. You have to really like honey because it's there from start to finish and dominates over everything else. If it does start to grow on me I'd probably get the La Rive one, Eternal Kiss, as the notes are identical. Looking at the notes it seems impossible that this wasn't directly inspired by Eternal Kiss like it usually is the other way round. It is basically La Vie Est Belle with a ton of honey. I prefer LVEB if I was in the mood for something extra sweet.

Edit nope, it smells like piss. The honey smells like piss. I don't like it. I thought I stank of piss somehow and realised it was coming from my hand. I don't know why anyone would want to smell like this. It'd be ok without the honey but then you'd just have LVEB. Had to have been a flanker I tried the first time round or something coz I'd have remembered that honey and beeswax combo. I'm a huge gourmand lover so it's not that it's too sweet, it's just unpleasant.

Conbeeni

Sadly this one just really didn't work for my skin chemistry, I think. I tested it at the perfume store and on the tester strip it smelled absolutely gorgeous! It would've been an instant buy based on that scent alone, but when I sprayed it on my wrist it turned so unbelievably sour! All the sweetness vanished in an instant and I was just left with an unpleasant sourness, not like a fresh, citrusy sour, but really rather foul.
I legitimately got sad smelling the paper strip afterwards, because it smells amazing on there, but on me it just becomes incredibly nasty smelling. I know it's me and not the perfume because a friend of mine used to wear this one and it smelled very nice on her.

I honestly think this is a beautiful perfume, but please test it on skin before you buy, because if you don't, you might end up sorely disappointed!

fformoso88

Ok I’m so sorry but this is freaking gorgeous and stunning and now one of my favorites!!! Seriously and she will get you noticed and she will get you the compliments and she will have all the boys running to your yard. Lol but seriously, honey, almost animalic, sweet, seductive, sexy. This projects and lasts better than some of my niche fragrances and that’s saying a lot! For the price and the quality. I feel like you can’t beat this scent. It’s just after smelling it on me a while and you just know this is your type of scent. The type of scent that chooses you. If this fragrance chooses you honey you are in for a treat because she’s a sexy stunner and not for the faint of heart. Femme fatale in a bottle baby!

HannahRosesAreRed

The first thing to know about Scandal–it's not subtle. Don't expect anything subtle. This is Jean Paul Gaultier. JPG doesn't do "subtle." The kicking showgirl legs on the topper should be enough to tell you that "Scandal" is not a subtle, quiet, fade-in-the-background everyday perfume. If a Jean Paul Gaultier is going to design a sweet fragrance, then by heck, it'll be THE sweetest, THE strongest, THE most powerful sweet fragrance ever.

Not that I'm against super sweet fragrances, JPG style–I'm a huge fan of La Belle and its flankers. But Scandal is it's own brand of overblown sweetness–this is a honey bomb. Combining the sweetest, most gourmand animalic accord with MORE of the same (beeswax), plus the strong, floral sweetness of white orange blossom and jasmine, AND burnt sugar, AND funky patchouli? You're going to get something VERY intense. Like La Belle, Le Male and everything else from this house, Scandal is a projection monster. I can see the shimmering of oil on my skin when I sprayed, a testament to its quality and longevity. There is no denying that this is top notch in terms of craft and quality.

It's not a great match on my skin–sweet notes are made even sweeter, and honey especially becomes cloying, animalic and headachey, dizzyingly so. That's unfortunately the case when I tried wearing Scandal–I actually got a little lightheaded! Not a match for me, but I think this is objectively a good, if rather intense fragrance–nuclear and dangerous in weather above 65 degrees F, so keep that in mind.

gonegirl

tried this in the mall today and really liked it. very very sweet, honey dominant scent, there were other notes in the background that i couldn't identify. i will update this when i try it again.

Londonhermit

The opening was so strong and acrid it burned my skin and nose. The dry down is acceptable not worthy of a full bottle in my case.

astralmonad870

Hate the bottle but like the scent as it is a suitable clone of The Moon Glory by the Harmonist. I bought a dupe of this to avoid the hypersexualised marketing. Warning: this is a beast mode perfume. My 100 ml bottle will last forever as 1-2 sprays is enough for 6 hours. If this did not have the nuanced notes of blood orange and white florals I would just make my own beeswax perfume and use it. I’ll be wearing more of this in the fall and winter months as this can be heavy and cloying in the summer.

Lotte_Liese

I can understand why there are two distinct camps in the comments section- those who love scandal, and those who cannot stand it. It is scandalous- upon application all you're greeted with is sweet store bought honey, but if you let the notes develop, you will find clues into why this is beloved to some.
The white florals in this fragrance develop after the first minute and it is then that I can finally smell what to me makes this fragrance- the blood orange.
And just as I found myself liking it the more I sniffed it as it dried down, the licorice note set in and put me off. Yes, I can understand the comment about cough syrup now.

creamyandlight

Smells like grape cough syrup to me.

fformoso88

Ok so I blind bought a tester of this and I do like it. It’s really strong. The silage and projection are incredible and you don’t need a lot (for the love of God, don’t overspray this) one or two sprays maximum. I will say I see the comparison to La Vie est Belle but mostly to my nose this smells almost identical to Moon Glory from the harmonist. It’s like if moon glory, La vie est belle, flowerbomb and a little black opium got mixed in a vat and then sold. It’s a solid fragrance though. It’s very strong. Right now this is a like and not a love only because I feel like it reminds me of so much fragrances I already have. Definitely need to test it out more.

EDIT!!!!! … attention I freaking love this fragrance now that I have let it settle in. It’s stunning!!! Stunning!!! And very sweet which I love licorice and honey bomb! Loves it 🥰♥️

Anteatereatingant

Guys. I'm so confused by this one. I ordered a sample (off someone I've never had issues with fakes or mislabelling before) and this smells nothing like what I expected.

I'm getting a strong PLUM note. I looked the notes up here to make sure I wasn't imagining it - and then all the other flankers. I don't see plum anywhere! But to me this is a strong, mature, slightly playdoh-ish vanilla + plum. I get zero citrus or or floral.

It's not bad, but it's certainly not what I had in mind. Anyone else have this issue? Strength and projection are good, BTW.

ShowMustGoOn

Honey. Lots of honey. Candy. Caramel. Plus La Vie Est Belle. Plus Black Opium. Honey gets a bit chocolate like. Overall, very sweet. Still unsure if it’s worth a bottle because it reminds me of La Vie Est Belle.

hnoel1210

Sweet sweet sweet! But I love it!

Nicole79

Scandal, JPG = LVEB plus caramel! I don't feel the honey in the opening, only hours later in the dry down! I imagined it sweeter then it is! If you like LVEB you will like Scandal also ! Same stile, very similar !

TheWoodman

Man,

This is my wife’s favourite and i also love it when it’s on here but reading some of the reviews, you can tell those that have the real thing and those who write, without either having it or even having a real sample smh. Sometimes i just have to log off as some of the comments, mostly on the ladies perfumes, are just pure nonsense. Sad people

Amber Plokchouli

I’ve postponed reviewing this for a very long time, because I can’t really make up my mind about it. I’ve had my bottle since 2018, when I received a sample of scandal by night and loved it.
When I went to the store there were *the most amazing * discounts on some JPG fragrances, I tested scandal OG and by night side by side in store and couldn’t tell much difference. Since the OG had such an amazing discount and was MUCH cheaper in a gift box with a body lotion than by night was, even for the smallest bottle, I decided to get the OG.
I have some regrets about that now.. I do think I enjoyed my sample of by night more than I enjoyed the OG (even though I never got to test them side by side), and I hardly ever reach for the OG. Mostly I regret it, because by night has been discontinued, so I missed that window of opportunity to get it, whereas at this point I doubt the OG will ever be discontinued.

Like I said I hardly ever reach for Scandal. There’s hardly a dent missing from my 2018 bottle and sometimes I regret spraying it on when I do use it. My feelings towards this fragrance are weirdly ambivalent. Sometimes I suddenly crave it, but when I spray it on the expected delight rarely happens.

So why? Why do I have such mixed feelings about this?

The cons:
First off: the honey note is very overpowering. I think you really really have to adore honey and beeswax notes to truly be able to appreciate the fragrance, because they’re almost all there is to it. This smells like being doused in honey, with molten beeswax poured over it, and then being dipped in honey again. I enjoy both notes, but I don’t LOVE love them, so the exorbitant amount of honey puts me off somewhat, although at the same time there’s something addictive about this too.
Another thing that always disappoints me when I put this on, it’s the lack of development (at least on my skin and to my nose). Because the honey is so strong I don’t really get the pleasure to pick up on the other notes. I know my skin to be prone to being the sweetness in notes forward, so I don’t get any of the citrus in the top, because the honey is too overpowering. I can detect some of the other sweet notes, like caramel, jasmine and maybe liquorice, but they’re so faint compared to the honey and beeswax that it’s hard to really pick them out, and they don’t really have their moments when they come forward.
The last thing that comes to mind is the nagging feeling that it’s lacking something. Something to balance out all the sweet stuff. It could be something fresh to lighten it up, or something herbal to add some complexity, or something animalic and/or salty to make it more skanky and scandalous, whatever way it could’ve gone I feel like it really needs something to complete it. I’ve been trying to layer it with other fragrances, but it’s not easy to find something that doesn’t make it cloyingly sweet, but does match the fragrance itself.

The pros:
After an hour or so the honey and beeswax become less overwhelming and the scent becomes more enjoyable. I still feel it lacks the complexity it could have (I actually feel like it’s there, but doesn’t come out, because it lacks the one ingredient to make it shine), but there’s an addictive quality to it.

This fragrance is scandalous indeed, or it could be.. almost.. quite honestly it wants to be, I know what they were trying to do, but it’s not half as scandalous as it could and should have been.. the amount of honey invokes imagery of honey poured over naked bronzed skin. The beeswax makes it somewhat animalic, and although I’m not a massive fan of the amount of honey notes, I do think I get the sensual scandalous idea they were going for with this scent. I do think they stopped just short of actually reaching the point they were going for. If you want to make people think about strip clubs and naked bodies covered in honey and caramel, you have to make it dirrrrty. Throw in more skin, some salt, some musk, some ambergris.. something along those lines. It has to smell like sex. You can’t call it scandal and than not mean it ☹️ I think it’s very close to the effect they were going for, but then opted to play it safe to increase mass appeal. If you want to close a scandal however, you can’t play it safe. You have to go all the way, take off your panties and throw them in the face if anyone who dares to complain about you being too scandalous and offensive. There are way more scandalous fragrances that are over a century old. The great perfumers of yesteryear knew what sex smelled like. If they’d created a fragrance and called it scandal it would’ve been scandalous indeed.
I guess this turned out as not really a pro, but now as a ‘what could’ve been a pro’.
Something about this is quite addictive though, so I’ll give it that, and I’ll keep trying too layer this till I find that golden combination that will make people gasp in shock and proper ladies faint the moment I walk into the room (because I’m so scandalously sexy, not because I stink).

Last but not least, although this doesn’t really need pointing out: the bottle is exquisite! It’s beautiful, heavy glass. The shape is easy to hold and spray, and it sprays a pleasantly fine mist. The cap is fun and pretty and quite sturdy for what it is.

All in all this is a nice fragrance, but I think there are more interesting and complex fragrances to be had for a lower price. It does have quality and doesn’t smell cheap (the honey and beeswax smell very realistic), but I personally will not buy it again. It just lacks the intrigue that so many other fragrances do provide. What disappoints me most in this fragrance is that I think this could have been a great fragrance, if they hadn’t played it safe for mass appeal. Perhaps one day they’ll bring out a flanker that smells as dirty as I want it to be, but it’s not likely I’ll ever find out, because I rarely put effort into trying flankers. If I already love a fragrance, I don’t need a flanker, because it’ll only disappoint, and if I don’t love a fragrance, I’m not invested enough to try out flankers..

NB: I really wonder why they chose to market this as a floral chypre, cause there’s really no nature/Cyprus feel that a chypre is supposed to invoke. There’s citrus in the top, and some patchouli, but both are completely subdued by the honey and florals. There’s also no Oakmoss.. floral gourmand would be a much better description, as it’s the Gourmand notes that are the most prominent.

0h3ricaa

I’ve had my bottle since 2020, it has lasted me so long especially since this is such a BEAST fragrance. My dent is halfway in the bottle. The juice has gotten darker. Sillage and longevity is immaculate, you literally are getting what you pay for! The bottle is beautiful and heavy, the metal leg top has some weight. To my nose, I get blood orange in the opening, straight honey, gardenia, jasmine, a tiny hint of peach and mainly caramel and patchouli . Everything is blended nicely.

This perfume is very sweet and syrupy. 3 sprays should last you ALL day. Maybe even less sprays. I’ve worn this in the spring and the heat really makes this perfume emit more sweet off of me. May be cloying (even if you’re not in the heat). This perfume just really packs a punch. If you don’t like fragrances like Angel Muse from MUGLER, then this perfume isn’t for you. I put Angel Muse and Scandal in the same category. Both sweet, honey like, with strong patchouli notes.

This is definitely a sexy night kind of fragrance. Giving sexual tension.

A PLACE this scent reminds me of: France.

WHERE I would wear this perfume: Anniversary night, honeymoon, sexy night, date night, romantic restaurant dining, cruise night, fancy night out, club.

What would I DO wearing this perfume: Naughty time, eating at a Brazilian steakhouse, romantic night on the beach, watching the sunset, dancing, kissing, listen to throwback R&B with candles lit walking around in a silky robe and drinking wine.

What would I WEAR with this perfume: Classy/sexy dresses, curls, jewelry, purse, heels, lingerie, robes, makeup. Black dress, red lipstick kind of vibe. Sophisticated outfits even!

I’ve had this for years and tried to like this many times but the drydown is terrible to me. I think its the patchouli. It’s all I get when I smell whatever’s left on my clothes. Its sour and harsh. Before that it’s a really beautiful, honey smell with the caramel and fresh orange. I guess I could reapply so it smells more like that instead of the patchouli. I have gotten compliments on this perfume while wearing it for a while and tbh I wish I could smell what everyone else might be smelling. Maybe my skin doesn’t agree with it.

♡♡♡

The honey/ caramel notes really stand out to me and on me. I love this and think its say better than any flanker, I'm suprised it's not more popular and will definitely repurchase.

ayshee_x

I think this is quite underrated as a fragrance. It’s really sugary sweet (perhaps cloying) but very pleasant.
Very much in the Prada paradoxe/My Way realm with the jasmine and orange blossom as florals but with a huge dose of honey.

Jade-Ange D

This one is stronger than the Scandal By night flanker that I kinda preferred.
The OG Scandal is a strong ultra feminine scent that never fails to last a whole day and few others on your clothes. It is creamy due to the light florals such as Gardenia, Orange Blossom, Jasmine. It is really fruity, sweet and sugary due to the Blood Orange, Mandarin Orange, Honey, Peach, mostly the Caramel and the funny touch of the Beeswax complimenting the already full of sugar blend. Then some great intensisty with the Patchouli and Licorice, that I don't seem to perceive that much, and that's better honestly I hate licorice and cannot stand Patchouli if it's highly dosed.
Really feminine but complex blend, don't overspray it or you'll kill anything and anyone near you.
It's perfect when I put my racer leather jacket, it gives a confident fierce Femme Fatale feeling.

angelicforce777

a very elegant perfume! smells like pure honey but the beeswax note is also very prominent! i can definitely see how this scent gets a lot of compliments

yummysw

The best honey scent with realistic honey, floral and wax notes. I love and have been using it since 2020. recently bought a full bottle. Not loud or trashy; can be worn with a light hand throughout the day. Just for the coldest days, intoxicating, strong and long lasting.

Jullie777

Love it. It is more niche like, because it is not a safe mainstream fragrance. Very Sweet, syrupy, a bit dirty fragrance. Maybe because of beeswax note. The best to be smelled in the air.

albatros

It smells dirty, sticky, and unpleasant and I wouldn't like to smell this perfume anywhere close to me. This is a smell of a woman who is not washing herself just taking a shower with this sickly sweet perfume to cover her body stench. Absolutely NO.

OfTheValley

There is something about JPG which makes all its scents at least a like for me, if not a love.
Scandal is a shameless love. Like that obvious sexual attraction to somebody we know that would never fit, but cannot resist nonetheless.
So yes: Scandal is sticky, super sweet, super honey, over the top and not elegant at all.
I am not the type of woman who wants to draw attention, but hey, sometimes I just NEED to grab the bottle and bathe in this juice, whatever people might think/smell of me.
And I also love its predecessor (not JPG) by La Rive (yes, it was born 17 years before Scandal and they are almost identical): Eternal Kiss.
Needless to say, I also own Scandal by Night, another big big love.
Gotta love that honey!
Atomic longevity, nice sillage. This stuff is nuclear.

DariaFrancesca74

Lively fragrance, markedly citrusy in the opening with pleasant floral hints, immensely gourmand, caramelized, sweet, feminine in its temporal evolution. I highly recommend it to lovers of the gourmand genre.

helen2323

Oh, my God, it's so sweet, like orange jam and honey, it'll hurt your teeth. But you know what, I like it. It's like a beautiful monster you can't stop looking at. And the honey smell doesn't smell like pee, thank God! I think they added beeswax to make it smell delicious, smart move, right?

Now let's talk about longevity. This stuff lasts longer than my last relationship. Seriously, it sticks to my skin all day and to my clothes for days. I think I could put this on on Monday and still smell the same on Friday. That's how long-lasting it is.
I think this perfume is perfect for scandalous women who want to be chic but also a bit slutty.

call me zi

I love to wear this in winter. It smells warm and sweet which makes it so comforting but also very feminine. I don't think it's for everyone, but it can make everyone appear more feminine and warm.

nzascentz

honey & caramel overload. use a light hand when spraying if not you’ll be choking in a beehive filled with thick loads of honey.

not honestly my fav from the gaultier perfume line.

PattyLovesScents

JPG just knows how to make a woman smell beautiful. His fragrances are just stunning and from first spray to 6 hours later they stay truly beautiful. There is no "oh the opening is weird, or oh you gotta let it dry down" None of that foolish guess work that is plaguing modern fragrances. From start to finish JPG fragrances are perfection.

I am on my second bottle of Scandal. This is such a beautiful, sexy, flirty fragrance. It is not obnoxiously loud or in your face either. It is just pretty and makes you smell feminine.

So what does it smell like: When you first spray scandal you get a very feminine, perfume vibe with the honey and floral notes. It reminds me of when you first walk into a Sephora and there is that perfume smell in the air and the makeup smell. As it settles onto your skin or clothing you get the Honey. This is NOT like a grocery store honey. More like a sweet syrupy candy honey with a slight sweet peach undertone. Like a honey candy. The floral notes come in as very pretty flowers. Not green flower smells or sharp florals. These are sweet and feminine. (I don't detect these florals as specifically gardenia and jasmine as is listed). Too me it is just white floral with the sweet honey syrup. The patchouli is faint and very clean fresh non-threatening patchouli. Like a classy high end fragrance patchouli (not the earthy or dirty patchouli in cheap fragrances).

JPG fragrances were always very luxurious when I was younger and they still really feel like high end luxury fragrances. Scandal stays the same on all day. Nothing changes or gets funky or off. It stays sweet, syrupy honey and soft white florals all day long.

If La Belle is too sexy for your daily life, try Scandal as she is perfect for day and night. Use a light hand. She only needs like 2 sprays to play!

PS: my second bottle is the newer packaging with the box versus the tin can. Fragrance still smells exactly like the older packaging. So she was not changed just went from a tin can to a velvet box.

sunchild50

It reminds a lot of Lady Million in the initial dry down (I think it's because of the honey and patchouli). If you own one you don't need the other.

Scandal is a waxy, honey-rich white floral weapon that is sensual and only wearable in moderation - as it can be a little cloying. I do love smelling this on other people, especially when it's started to fade. I see myself wearing a couple sprays of this on a cozy, girly night in, or outside only in the colder months.

Chevybee

I'm late to the game on this one but better late than never. Omg I'm in boozy honey heaven. I'm finding more and more that patchouli is not my enemy when blended well and this is the case here. It's sweet, honeyed floral, with citrus and caramel and I'm here for all of it. This is a date night or love yourself night kind of scent.

Acrelune

Absolutely horrendous and sickening.
A scandal for sure…
I was gifted this and it bothered my nose so much I sold and gifted decants of it.
I like the bottle, I prefer elegant neutral bottles but I find this one to be funny and extravagant.
Some will like it, some will love it. And if you do, please wear the hell out of it!

But it is absolutely not for me
3/10

shoujomarina

not what i expected. i’ve wanted to smell this for years! it smells like a honey version of la vie est belle which makes me sick a little bit lol. i respect this for what it is but its ultimately just the same scent. was really looking for something uniquely honey. don’t hate this per se, very sweet patchouli. i’ll wear the small vial i have but wouldn’t repurchase

Natty L

It smells lovely. Very sweet like honey. I also got a compliment from this one. Last for 3-4 h I think.

Rantoyouall

Lots of males love but some female don’t like it. I usually mix with Libre edp make smell so loud and nice

_.ej11

this perfume is beautiful

Iristhenurse

I tried her sister So Scandal and her at the same time. At first I preferred the sister. But the sister is more berries like and not sweet. The dry down wins it all for me. The smokiness mixed with honey, patchouli notes accord so well I couldn’t stop smelling my skin. I like sweet scents and she’s sweet but honey sweet which I absolutely adore. Love it ! 💗. My boyfriend called this my " grandma " perfume but I dont think so. I like her!

ava96

Very sweet, very honey, very womanly - I really like it! First day wearing it so my opinion might evolve to a "love" but it's off to a good start anyways.

Meghan_why

I smelled this on paper and didn't mind it but decided to try it on my skin and it was so screechy, plasticky, and loud! Don't get me wrong, I love a loud perfume but only if it smells good on me of course. This was almost nauseating. I'm trying to figure out what note it is that's throwing me off but it's definitely not for me unfortunately but wow the silliage and longevity is a BEAST so if you want something loud and it smells good to you, be sure to try it!

Hifza

Very exclusive kind of fragrance. a unique, subtle yet very strong. Its kind of magic in the fragrance world. May be honey and blood orange adds that element to it.

Re1na

Id like to say , the previous comment from Saponista about reformulation of this perfume was absolutely right!!! Its disgusting how the perfume has changed and i am surprised how excited people are on here about Scandal. I had it around 4 years ago and now i bought a new bottle after long break and i had to return it . Very disappointed with the quality. Smells very cheap and weak , alcohol like . Nothing like the original formula . Will never buy it again .

AmandaBucik

This was my first big girl perfume. I still have the packaging of it and when i open the tube i remind myself of the scent. Absolutely magic, unique, magnificent. I will purchase this again.

This lasts for hours, days even on the clothes. It has an enormous sillage. I would die for this scent i love jpg❤️ while it stays in my favorites, i now have his other perfumes that are also perfect to me.

Ilikewhatilike

Blast of sweet honey with blood orange and white florals. Quite a realistic honey. It’s definitely has women’s dna, but I think a guy can rock this as well. I’m not super experienced with honey fragrances, but this one gives me vibes of killian back to black.

Sweet&Fruity

One of my absolute, all-time favourite, ‘signature scents’.

This is very much a ‘look at me scent’. Definitely not the one if you’re in a shy and retiring mood. It’s strong, very in-your-face, commands attention - as mostly all JPG scents do!

So, you’re blasted with an initial hit of honey-Jasmine, so strong and incredibly sensual, it just knocks your socks off. It’s fabulous, the name is perfect - it almost screams ‘scandalous’ at you. It’s like it’s inviting you to be naughty. I always feel so intensely, sensually feminine when wearing this.

After the strong, intense blast of honey-floral (Jasmine), you start to dry down to a sweet, syrupy fruity. That makes it sound horrible, but it really isn’t. The sweetness and fruitiness in the base notes lasts, you still get white floral too, but it seems overridden by fruitiness and sweetness. The whole combination together is just intoxicating.

There’s almost a very faint medicinal undertone to the whole concoction which is actually nice, kind of cough syrupy, but it’s warm and soft, not harsh.

Words cannot convey how much I love this perfume. If it wasn’t so expensive it’s all I’d ever wear!

stephanienwc

There's something unique about the OG Scandal, which is saying a lot given that there are SO many gourmand fragrances out there in the universe. At first spray I didn't understand what it was, as my brain was struggling to categorize this new combination of scents. It probably also didn't help that I went into the forest for a hike after that which definitely clashed with the environment and attracted a lot of bugs lol!

The second time I tried it was when I became absolutely INTOXICATED. I kept sniffing myself like a crazy person. Eventually it dawned on me that it was this dark, syrupy honey - almost like a whiskey infused honey - that really had me hooked. The dry down also has a bit of licorice, which reminds me of Diesel's Loverdose and a bit like Black Opium. Looking at the notes alone though really doesn't encapsulate how all of these ingredients come together into this seductive juice. The citrus and white flowers keep this light against the sexy honey comb backdrop. This is my favorite date night scent right now!!

SLY xoxo

Omg!!!! This is a complex one! When it was first launched in 2017 i didn't understand the hype about it cause for me it was a kinda strong scent to wear but NOW that i purchased it few weeks ago lemme tell you that this is INSANEEEE!

JPG has become one of my signature scent lately, it is a sweet but not gourmand cake type of fragrance. It involves more of a mature scent and sexiness. For it is the beeswax which makes all the difference, the caramel will settle down after it evaporates and you will smell delicious for sure.

P.s i dont think there are specific seasons to wear perfumed but i dont recommend dis one for summer it can be nauseating when worn during high heat, But in winter you will smell like a Goddess

naiaa

I hope JPG never discontinues this perfume because I have never smelled a perfume like this one before. It‘s been my signature scent for like six years now and I cannot get enough of this!

It smells like honey, beewax, orange blossoms and caramel to me! Sometimes I will even smell the most addictive vanilla note on myself when I spray this! This truly never stops surprising me… Also, this used to have the most monstrous sillage and longevity, though I wish they‘d bring back the old formulation, I understand why people like the perfume more now. The sillage and longevity on this are still really good compared to other designer fragnances, this will easily last you for hours and if you spray a good amount, you will leave behind your scent in the room. Regardless, I am praying day and night, brands would stop making their sillage and longevity weaker and weaker just to sell more bottles, it‘s a really turn off and I‘m scared JPG will follow the trend!

If you love Scandal but want the old formulation, I recommend Scandal By Night. If you love fruity, sweet gourmands, then I would recommend the entire Scandal line, Ariana Grande‘s perfume line and Mula Mula Extreme Rouge! They all have a similar vibe and good performance! :)

peachygal

This to me is honey and caramel (more caramel), a bit nutty and creamy.

It is so stunning! It projects and lasts so well and I need that in a fragrance. As it wears it def becomes more caramel.

One of my absolute favourites.

Siv7Stars

Patch n licorice. Honey where? Tbh a lot of scents seems to do this on me, 0-60 drydown :(

likesleet

okay after smelling at duty free one more time, i finally get it. soooo sweet with honey and tuberose but still really nice.

OneidaWelty

I'm in love with this perfume! I wish I had it, I probably will find one for me soon. It's AMAZING, honey at first spray with an orange blossom/caramel dry down. Scandal is sweet and musky in a very sexy bottle. Good longevity as well!

If you love the smell of honey, ohmy you should get your hands on one of this!!

chicagogirl

Ugh this is arguably the best honey fragrance to exist!! Very realistic honey, hints of floral notes and a wonderful beeswaxy note on drydown. Very unique scent. I have loved this since 2019, and prob have old reviews on here about it from back then. But I just recently bought a full bottle after savoring my cute little dabber for so long. It's a much better experience now smelling this heavenly honey cloud from a full bottle with a spray. Personally I don't see this as loud or trashy as others have stated. I think if you use a light hand you can wear it during the day and to work. This perfume only works on the coldest days! Anything above like 40 degrees F, it's just too potent, thick, rich and strong for lol. This is intoxicating, strong and unbelievably long lasting. JPG fragrances are always top quality.

Youlerie

I'm not the biggest honey fan when it comes to food. But I like falling into this honey pot! The fruity spiciness and freshness of the blood orange tames the sweetness of the honey. Very pleasant and sexy.

LadyMuck

Potent, sweet, powerful fragrance. Good lasting power and honey sweet. Bit heavy so best worn during colder climate. It is sexy and heavy and nothing halfhearted about it. You will either love being enveloped by this honey sweet fragrance, or you will not.

nateya

Honey honey honey!! Slightly floral, citrusy and ambery but honey is the star of this show. Very sweet and photorealistic smell of honey. This is a heavy hitter too! If you want a more affordable dupe, Shock In Scent Police is spot on! I have both in my collection and I prefer SIS Police over this beauty and that’s saying a lot.

feeri

this is an absolute banger in the winter-times, especially here in sweden where it gets super cold (-18 C). i tried it on in-store and omg i was in love. the silliage is really good, and it's quite strong so this is def a perfume you can't spray more than 1-3 sprays. smells so sexy it's perfect for a night out ! my boyfriend also loves it on me.

would not wear in summer though, could easily choke someone out in the heat bc of how sweet and strong it is.

9/10 very unique: not for everyone, but i absolutely love it !

JamesGamez

Honey BOMB. It smells really good. Honey, vanilla, light florals. Smells like you’ve bathed in honey. This is super sweet.
The only bad thing I have to say is this is very perfumey. And whoever said this smells like walking into the fragrance section of Macy’s was right.

jeremeryfragrance

beautiful. sexy, fresh, sweet, yummy. the honey will definitely attract you a jazz listening lover. ;)

coffeebean83

Not only do I have this but a few of it's dupes too. It's a sweet orange honey amber bomb. If you don't like very sweet do not even engage. At first I was thrown by the dry down of the beeswax because it's quite different to just honey. It's what brings the dirty animalic(that some describe as skank) vibe to this scent and will not be for everyone. This perfume is in my top five all time favorites and I don't see that changing. Beast mode performance all around. Will 100% repurchase if possible.

Adjr1087

Me, wearing my Scandal perfume today while in the office... after reading the review below... Are my co-workers thinking that I smell like a STRIPPER?!! lol!!!! I hope not, but I adore this perfume! Honey Sweet Bomb! Temperature is extremely cold today; I wouldn't wear this perfume otherwise in the hot sticky weather during summer though... way too sweet for that!

Guframel

This smells exactly like how a top performing stripper would smell like. It’s loud, obnoxious and overly sweet and it’s my favorite perfume for going out. Would I wear it to work? Absolutely not. But theres a time and place for Scandal and thats going out with your girlfriends and having the best night ever.

raycyj

i had smelled a few of the scandal flankers but never actually smelled the og. i bling bought a 30ml bottle of this n i like ittttt!! love the dry-down the most (honey and caramel), the opening's very strong (if u enjoy light scents this is not for u!). i wore it at work n took the bottle with me. at the end of my shift, i put some more on and went to have dinner with a friend, first thing she said was that i smelled sweet!! i feel like u will get noticed wearing scandal .. it indeed lasts a loooong time on the skin and clothing. perfect for the winter time. if i had a boo id wear this to date nights for sure

saponista

I have loved this for ages, and finally needed to purchase a replacement bottle. Unfortunately it's been reformulated very recently and the new version contains Iso-E Super. It also no longer has the wonderful sillage (or rather, blast radius!) and longevity of yore. If you're familiar with the original Scandal I recommend an older bottle packed in the canister, not the newest boxed version.

If you were put off by the IN YO FACE-ness of the original Scandal and are anosmic to (or don't mind) Iso-E Super then you might enjoy this version.

ps: Notino has a 90-day no-questions-asked refund policy and were lovely to deal with

Denu

Really enjoying how the honey plays with the florals. Lovely strong opening but it settles down and isn’t too overwhelming - which makes this a good versatile scent for me. Yummy caramel came through in the dry down.

vanillababy111

amazing for cold weather, really good sillage if worn on skin and hair. Men love it too

Agnestenger

I think this perfume is underrated. It is lovely, cozy, warming and sweet - all you need for a cold season. And for that price, it's just brilliant.

LadyKendall

I love this perfume. It’s spicy, sweet, and floral all at once on me. It is honestly the smell equivalent of a hug. It is not overly sweet, it just reminds me of like a warm embrace from somebody you love.

malkotoponi

Ok, so I finally bought the Scandal (getting the night version soon as well) and I like it. However, where is the projection everybody is talking about :D I was afraid I will be suffocating people around me but they don't sense it unless I am close to them. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. The fragrance is kinda intimate so it naturally draws people closer to you in the literal physical sense. So there is a psychological element to it. That's why I think it can bee good for dates. And when I do think about it, a big projection would not exactly fit this type of fragrance. To illustrate and compare, I have the Mugler Nova Angel EDP and people tell me they can literally sense it when I walk into a room or when they come into my office. It lingers and leaves a noticeble trace. My colleagues love it. However, when I wore Scandal today and asked them about it they said they like it but they did not sense it unless I sat closely next to them. But I guess I am OK with this for this type of fragrance, as I already said. It is interesting though that even when the Mugler one does fill the whole room, after some time I cannot smell it on myself. The Scandal however, is not present in the whole room but it is definitely on my skin as I can easily sense it. So the Mugler one is a cloud around you and you are part of this cloud, while Scandal is just you, centered and focused, luring people in, particularly the people you choose to be close to physically.
I did not find this fragrance overly sweet or vulgar. It has a very prominent floral component which makes it feel fresh and young. In the beginning for me it is citrusy, floral and honey, middle is HONEY HONEY HONEY, the closing part is caramelly honey. I would prefer By Night, however, for a night out, clubbing and so on. Scandal is a good girl, By Night is a good girl gone bad. So I decided I wanted both. SBN is a deep and rich mystic fragrance (I think of passionate sex, dimmed rooms and heavy alchohol when I sense it. It is almost forbidden. It is a guilty pleasure.). The OG Scandal has these themes hidden within it but it can only give you an idea about them and hint about their potential in a more subtle and acceptable way. However, with SBN you are already transformed and consumed by the sexy darkness. I guess I cannot help it but get poetic when I describe these perfumes. I just love them both so much!

esmeralda999

I love the opening of this! Then the honey really, really comes out after 30 minutes or so and on my skin it honestly just makes me think of a urinal. Public toilet vibes :(

a.m-p

I fell in love with this fragrance smelling a sample. The trail of this frag literally made my head turn. Disappointingly, on my skin it just smells like honey, guess chemistry is everything sometimes.

Prance!

This perfume will really throw you off either in a really good way or a bad way. I wouldn't blind buy this. I'm in my early 20's, I like sweet fragrances, I showed my friends this (2 guys, 2 girls) and they all thought it was was suffocatingly sweet. Especially if you get hot easily like me then it becomes this absolutely cloying honey overload.

This honey note is just not the same "sweet" as other sweet scents. It's not a mass people-pleasing smell, which isn't bad but just be careful is all I'm saying. You might really like it.

Is the performance good? - YES 8/10✔️
The projection? - A wild 6-8/10 rating ✔️
Versatility? - No...It's a date time and cooler weather wear because heat just turns this into sweetness intoxication
4/10 ❌

It's tough for me I personally can't be around this smell but if you really do just love the smell of honey then you should go for this fragrance as clearly other people like it.

leenee

When I first smelled this I thought it was way too sweet, a little obnoxious even, but a friend of mine has been wearing it lately and smelling it on her made me like it more so I bought it and so far I’ve been liking it for when I’m craving a really sweet fragrance especially since the weather has been getting colder
It smells like pure honey to me but I do get some of the citrus notes as well

Midblooder

Very sweet perfume, the smell of honey and caramel hits you first like a blast, then comes the bitter note of the licorice. I can vaguely smell the orange and the peach, the flowers are nice but I personally find the gardenia a bit OP compared to the other flowers and the honey smells a bit synthetic to me. Overall, it's a nice perfume if you like them sweet, but not for me.

Natalia91

First time I sniffed this on paper it was pure honey and sooo sweet. I am gourmand lover but this was too much even for me. Well, I decided to be brave and test it on my skin and I can say I'm a bit disappointed with the fragrance. I was expecting honey, sweetness and beast mode lasting power, however, it's not the case on my skin.
On me it's mainly citrus with a bit of honey on the background. I much prefer JPG La Belle as in my opinion it's better the fragrance.

bruby15

I bought this finally because I liked it however there is zero lasting power and just a waste of money. It does not even last on clothes.

Gyps

Well it lasts less than 5 minutes on my skin so I definitely can’t agree on all the posts that say it is strong and long lasting. It must be my body chemistry, as many perfumes are very weak on me. This smells nice when it’s first sprayed, but like I said, it’s gone in a matter of minutes. All I smell is beeswax then it’s gone. Disappointing.

cookievanilla

So this one is very nice at the beginning, picking up a sweet berry/strawberry--maybe peachy note at the very beginning for some reason, definitely sweet and potent. I made a friend smell it without telling her what it was or anything, and she immediately said it smelled like a sweet strawberry (top notes smelling straight from the sample vial), so I'd say it definitely has a sweet fruity scent at the beginning. I like it, but I don't love it. I think I prefer "La Belle"'s dry down as well, I'm not a big fan of the dry down of this Scandal unfortunately.

Just as other JPG perfumes, I feel this one is quite strong as well, it will definitely get noticed on the street.

Also, I'm not getting the citruses nor the orange blossom at any point in this, I am getting the very sweet peach however (maybe rather strawberry-ish peach tbh) at the beginning though which I mentioned earlier. I definitely get the Patchouli, which a lot of people love, but I'm honestly not a fan of patchouli, it smells very "perfume-y" and cliché to me and I don't really like patchouli in fragrances in general. I don't think I'll wear this personally, but for a person that likes a sweet fruity patchouli top note scent, with a sweet powdery dry down and likes their perfume to be noticed, I think this will do.

VMonster

I'm on the fence about this one. It is very strong, which is good for performance. It reminds me of Girl of Now by Elie Saab, of course without the nutty facets - that one also has orange blossom, honey, and patchouli so it might be that combo that stands out to me. Scandal is headier and more syrupy, but the honey isn't indolic or sickening in nature. The bottle is striking!

Dazed_and_confused

Pure honey. I personally want to drown in this because it’s so good, but I can see how some people would be turned off. Not really a summer perfume, not only because it can be cloying, but also because bees do enjoy it just as much.

bella99bella

I blind bought this and I’m not quite sure how I feel about it. I don’t love it but at the same time I don’t hate it - maybe I just need to give it more time (I have only used it twice). It does remind me of an older woman and thus feels quite mature. Although I had never tested it before I bought it, I recognized the scent immediately which probably means I’ve smelled it before on other people. So, if you’re looking for a unique fragrance and want to stand out, this is NOT it but that’s probably already obvious to you due to how popular it is.

I don’t know how to describe it but it is a very strong perfume. One spray and you’ll keep smelling it on you throughout the day so be careful! I feel like it might be too cloying during summer so I definitely recommend it for colder months.

I’ve been considering getting rid of it since I don’t love it but there is something about it that makes me want to keep it. I feel like it might grow on me so I’m going to keep using it for now. However, if I had smelled it before buying it, I probably would have purchased another perfume instead.

Also, if anyone’s interested and want to know how it compares to So Scandal, I 100 % recommend So Scandal over this! It is one of my absolute favorites! The projection and longevity are about the same (they’re both loud perfumes) but So Scandal is much lighter in a sense (not as dark and mysterious as I feel that Scandal is). Instead it is much more fruitier/sweeter and has a very prominent raspberry note. Although So Scandal is a flanker of Scandal, they’re both completely different so in the end it depends on what notes you’re looking for.

oHei8

On a first sniff I liked this one a lot. It was very floral but you could smell the sassy honey underneath and it made me think that I really need this one as a sexy night out perfume in my collection. but I tested it on a hot summer day so not so long after (about 20 minutes) I was left with the dry down which is honestly just honey and caramel and was very dissapointed.
You'd probably enjoy it if you like sweet perfumes or maybe on a colder day if the other notes will least a bit longer, but this is definetly not for me.

pjharvey

This resembles what Id expect ancient perfume to smell like; crushed flowers and ethanol. The alcoholic scent is is pungent and overpowers the sweetness and freshness of the white floral notes. I expected the ethanol smell to mist off after the first spray but it did not and made the perfume unpleasant to me. I do not like it.

Zoe Belle

This perfume has surprised me ! 🐝
It's my second time wearing Scandel an it IS so BEAUTIFUL. 💗
The honey, jasmine...an its other delights are very present. I don't smell anything overly sweet; just a gorgeous combination which pleases me. As time passes, the fragrance notes are consistent; not a dramatic change at any point.
Would you believe I almost gave it away...Im 'not' letting this perfume go !
I could wear this anywhere, it's this good 😍
I hope you enjoy it too.

erika.isme.98

Very sweet but a bit mature for my taste. Not bad though! Definitely something special about it

Adjr1087

I can't believe I had this fragrance and sold it. Now I miss it. I didn't appreciate the note of honey when I started what I call my "Fragrance Journey", as much as I appreciate it now. I got rid of it thinking at the moment that it smelled "exactly" like La Vie Est Belle with a "screechy" honey note. I was so wrong. This perfumes smells nothing like La Vie Est Belle and the honey smells beautiful. This is a perfume I would only wear in cold weather. Too sweet and sticky for Summer. On my way to get another bottle. Shame on me.

I received a sample of this and unfortunately I just find it too strong on the liquorice note, I don't get any honey from it at all. Since I don't care for the note, I really wasn't enjoying the fragrance. I don't think it is a bad perfume, it is just not to my tastes. If you are more tolerant of the liquorice note, you may enjoy it a lot! I don't think it is a safe blind buy.
Performance seems to be good as it lasted quite a while on my skin.

Very sensuous and feminine perfume! It’s a powerhouse with great projection and longevity, but the sillage that envelopes you is smooth, nectar-y and charmingly intoxicating in the air, not sharp and heavy like many sweet patchouli-based scents tend to be. The opening is mouthwatering and was what grabbed my attention, juicy blood orange! It dries down to a luscious warm honey. Be prepared to smell like honey the entire night, so if you can’t stand that note, pass on this one. The caramel adds warmth and richness, and other notes like licorice and beeswax add abit of complexity and texture, but really, I mostly get a bright, rich and seductive honey, softened by a bunch of feminine florals. I think, for a sweet scent, this smells more sophisticated and seductive than La Vie Est Belle, Black Opium, Poison Girl, or La Nuit Tresor. Love the pretty bottle, but I don’t find the scent particularly ‘Scandalous’, rather it’s deliciously hyper-feminine.

This stuff is a powerhouse. I sprayed the sample on my hand in the early afternoon, its now late evening and i've washed my hands 10 times over and I can still smell it. The scent itself is a people pleaser, its lovely. I get strong honey all throughout with a floral undertone. Something about this is addictive, great going out scent.

This one will always have a specific place in my heart no matter what. It was my first designer perfume. Two years ago someone gifted me a sample saying it was made for me and I had to try it. I still remember the first time I tried this. It was a love at first sniff for me. Rich honey&caramel sugar bomb. One of my friends said it smelled like sex and I have to agree. I don’t know how to explain this but it smells like dirty sweaty sex. I wore this for my ex boyfriend on our first date and he was in love. He just kept coming closer to smell me the entire time. + Everytime I put this on he would go crazy about it, and so does every guy I know. It makes me feel sexy and confident, can’t imagine my life without it.

I got this as a tiny sample when I ordered Hypnotic Poison from an online retailer in the UK. I think the retailer’s goal was to show me a similar scent.
This scent is beautiful if you are fond of Hypnotic Poison, it’s a lot sweeter.
My first impression was warm honey and caramel with the slightest hint of liquorice.
I usually detest, and I mean detest anything with patchouli in it, I hate patchouli but I can’t smell it at all in this perfume so that’s great!!
My partner seems to like it, I walked past him & he noticed I was wearing different from my usual Black Opium and he said “you smell good, like warm caramel” so that’s good if he even noticed!!
Might get myself a full size bottle or add to my Christmas list. It’s absolutely an autumn and winter smell.

A musky and sweet scent that makes a statement. Mostly I get the sweet honey scent. It opens with a bit more fruitiness, dries down to an almost sweet waxy musky scent due to the beeswax and patchouli. I normally hate patchouli, I don’t care for it here, but it doesn’t bother me or come off rotten in Scandal like it does in a lot of other frags on me. This is a very well blended scent and it’s hard to distinguish notes. I don’t get heavy florals at all. I love flowers, but I’d say this is more gourmand than floral by a lot. The honey is sweet, but it isn’t exactly the scent of sharp honey. I can’t say anything about this scent is sharp-is very much a sexy sweet cloud that you feel like you’re floating around in. The beeswax makes this dry down to an almost powdery waxy scent-not quite makeup or baby powder, much sweeter. I’d say the only notes I can pick out with certain are honey, patchouli, and beeswax. I go nose blind to this after a few hours, unfortunately, as I do with most perfumes. I know it lasts because I wake up smelling like I bathed in this scent once my nose is refreshed. I have Scandal by Night (one of my top 5 fav fragrances) and Oh So Scandal as well. I prefer Scandal by Night more than this. Where Scandal turns a bit sweet and sour (in a tasty way) musky from the patchouli, By Night has a subtle sweet and salty accord that reminds me of Olympea, and feels less musky. I also love the tuberose in By Night, as tuberose is my fav floral. Oh so Scandal is closer to By Night except all sweetness, no salt, more fruit, and a milky light musk that you need to search for closely to pick out- the lightest musk out of the 3. Oh so Scandal makes me think of captain crunch berries, makes my spouse think of fruity cigars/swishers. Out of all the JPG scents I’ve tried, Scandal by Night and Classique EDP are my biggest loves. While I do like the original Scandal, I don’t exactly feel like I need 3 different flankers of this scent and the By Night wins the competition, so I don’t plan to repurchase at this time. I will greatly enjoy my FB for awhile, though!

This smells so sharp, I can't imagine ever wanting to smell like it. The honey kind of comes through and tries to mellow things out, but it's not enough. Very overpowering.

Wow it took me awhile but I'm in love . When I first bought it it was jasmine orange and dirty patchouli and I just wasn't into it . So I traded it for another perfume to a friend . Then like 8 months later she was sick of it said it was to strong . and I smelt her and bought her back immediately. It smelt like HONEY HEAVEN , that dirtiness became my favourite part . its soooo sexy and intoxicating. I think this perfume needs time to marinate for sure . it smells just absolutely divine and that dirty sexiness is so amazing im in love . Gets compliments and lasts long .I'd say this is a horny perfume

I changed my mind on this fragrance... A while ago, I've made a review here and said that it's boring. I'm glad that I've tested my sample again, cause since then it transformed so beautifully! Probably the first spray didn't develop fully.

The scent that I'm now getting, is so gorgeous. It's so sweet and rich smelling. The honey note is so beautiful, it mixes sooo well with the florals, it truly smells like when going into a garden between spring and summer transition, when the whole air smells like nectar. Despite the strong smell, it fits good for me in summer too, probably because of this association. The longer the scent develops, the more I smell the caramel note. And it's the tastiest caramel that I've witnessed yet in a fragrance. It smells like dulche de leche, so creamy and not flat at all. Lasts pretty long, too. All over, I'm in love! Such a pretty scent.

Was excited to sample this after all the hype. Unfortunately this smells awful on me. Very floral and the honey comes off as a "pissy" sweet urine vibe. It's also quite animalic and headache inducing.. I just can't do this fragrance. I will be selling this one to someone who can appreciate it.

libertinesupreme

It's very nice - an inoffensive crowd-pleaser that has no harsh undertones - but to me, it's offensive because of the name. Scandal. This is the least scandalous perfume possible, which isn't a bad thing - but when you CALL it Scandal?! Come on, bro. I want scandal, I want dirty sensuality, I want controversial - not this. Call it "Sweetness" and I'd understand. But not "Scandal".

Soapyscent

I don't like this at all. Initial smell is fine but then it's unpleasant maybe because of the patchouli.

NoorbBelgium

such a gorgeous and sexy perfume!! love it

jil489

I hate it. I'm usually a fan of floral and fresh perfumes. Gourmand perfumes are fine. But I can't smell any of the notes other than something sickly sweet. It is weird. I like honey notes such as the honey scrub from Pink because it smells delicious. This one gives me headaches.

H0neybee

One of the most beautiful honey based fragrances I’ve ever smelled!
Starts off very strong with the orange blossom and mandarin orange and the white flowers, peach and honey slowly come into play. This one is truly a honey bomb!! Sweet, syrupy, thick, warm golden honey. So addictive!
I don’t however get much of jasmine, which I’m actually thankful for that it’s a mere supporting note and not much in the forefront. Then the most magical thing happens; the beeswax and caramel make the most enticing combination and the licorice gives it enormous depth. I keep getting whiffs of honey throughout the day.
I usually put 3-4 sprays in the morning and I still smell it the evening; sometimes even after I shower!
Definitely in my top list! I always have backups so I never run out.

This is my 2nd review of this perfume cuz I love it so damn much.

I've adored the original Scandal for a few years now. I first tested it at a mall and wore it for that afternoon and I couldn't stop lifting my wrist/arm to smell it over and over. So I bought it the next day. I'm currently on my 3rd bottle - one of which was the biggest size available. I can't imagine ever getting tired of this fragrance.

Just wanted to get that out there :)

ParadaJ

Can't feel the honey smell. The smell is not lasting on my skin. It's not unique and I don't like it.

soymilky

I've been meaning to try this for the longest time since there's so much hype around this scent and the notes sounded delicious but this is such a huge let down. It smells very cheap, gave me a migraine that lingered for HOURS.

dream

Big dislike! For me it smells like a strong burnt sugar scent that will never go away

I am a huge gourmand lover and initially I had decided I would only collect vanilla fragrances for the time being but by chance I happen to have taken a whiff of scandal at the store and I fell in love. It was just so intoxicating and sweet I thought about it for days! I smelt like I have just taken a bath in a pool of honey.

I now have a huge bottle of it and it's now definitely my signature scent. For those of you looking for something with eternal longevity and monsterous projection, let me tell you a story.

I went on a first date with my now boyfriend, and he had parked around a corner to pick me up, he told me later on he could smell me coming from around the corner before he could even see me!🤣

10/10 projection

Another time I stayed at his place overnight and a few days after I had gone home he told me that he could still smell my perfume on his pillow and bed even though it's been probably 3 days since then.

10/10 longevity (on items)

It's definitely a crowd pleaser, it smells and feels like an aphrodisiac on my skin. it might have helped nab me my boyfriend too, he pleads with me every now and then to wear it, and sometimes even jokingly complains i don't wear it enough because he can't get enough of it on me 🤣

I would say this is definitely a perfume that is for someone wanting their presence to be felt immediately and turn heads, it's very strong and probably not for those who are hoping for a more subtle statement.
