This is a very underrated fragrance imo. I mean, yes, outrageous price just like any TF, but the scent itself is artistic and beautiful. Beautiful lavender, tonka and vanilla mix with a bit of leather in the background. It's a dark lavender scent. I love it. Great for any season and occasion but I think it fits well for evening events. There is a mysterious, sexy and addictive quality to it and you just want to keep sniffing it. 9/10

liquidangel

an alluring lavender with woody, vanilla and leathery notes. I would prefer this on a man

humanchild

I love the scent, but the performance and the longevity are very poor for such a high price which is super unfortunate. It's just plain daylight theft. If you want to get a bit of a longevity boost - spray it on your clothes.

I wanted to like this fragrance so, so much. I first smelled it at a Neiman Marcus and it was my favorite of the entire Tom Ford lineup sprayed on paper. Well, I guess it doesn't work with my skin chemistry, because it smells like used baby wipes and leather. After an hour I was suffering and just wanted it off my skin.

brklk1

Smells like it's name.it smells like your hand after jerking off for a straight hour, and overpriced u can make the smell home, and lastly this is not aromatic at all.

netosan

While not a fan of Tom Ford’s private blend collection, this one is freaking fabulous. 100% masculine but without the smokiness and the awful syntethic smells found in leather scents. Lavender and Orris make it so wearable and enjoyable. Even the candle is f fabulous. The price is extremely steep and it does not justify that is more expensive than a bond or creed. But you won’t smell like anyone as it really depends on your chemistry. Quite elegant and quite refreshing :)

Jeshuwin

Another very polarizing scent.

It's a very interesting blend of almond, vanilla, leather, sort of powdery/waxy. But it is more on the masculine side of things. This is an attention grabber for sure, lots of compliments.

Many love it but many hate it. If you can rock it- go ahead

shohruhnorqulov08

I smell nothing but powdered bitter almonds. It's not for me.

Creamy_ambrette

More leather than almonds. Aromatic, slightly bitter leather! No, this doesn’t smell like cocaine, I don’t know what idiot started that rumor. I was a wild child in my 20’s I know what blow tastes an smells like. I was hoping for more coumarin. Sort of disappointed. Glad I got an inexpensive 10 Ml.

Dave12

It’s very aromatic and bitter on the opening then it fades into more of a creamy bittersweetness and I smell some lavender and almond it is quite masculine to me. You have to smell it to make a judgment about it. I personally am not loving it but I don’t hate it. It’s unique I’ll give it that but not necessarily in a good way for me. Would I shell out that much money for it NO! I’ll buy velvet orchid instead. I got it practically free so it will be my autumn-winter blue Monday fragrance 🥶. I Hate to say it but it does NOT smell F*CKING FABULOUS velvet orchid is more deserving of the name and hype to me, Velvet Orchid is the best TOM FORD fragrance I’ve smelled.

AntonioP.

It was a gift from my dad (Harrods London). Nice Tom Ford creation, that seems very powerful. When you smell it you think: Wow pepper, leather lavender this must be very strong. And it smells fantastic! If I knew that this just lasts 2 hours I would never have bought it. My dad didn't know this but for 220€/30ml this is just robbery. Apart from the price, nice smell bottle and typical Tom Ford name. One of the best, if not the best private blend from TF. (All TF don't smell long enough :)

APMM

I love this scent. There is alot of love/hate about this fragrance. Yes, crazy price! But in saying that, for me, I get a smooth fougère opening with a hint of bitter almond and powdery orris. This settles to a warm leathery, wood with creamy tonka.

I really enjoy wearing this for any occasion , though due to it's price tag, I'm lucky to own other great fragrances because I couldn't just wear this all the time.

YahSai

Nice everyday scent! Office safe. But the price is bonkers! Find something else for the price!

SiddhantSuryawanshi

It was on nights like this that ******** and I would meet. The heady fragrance of laughter mingled with the aroma of street vendors frying spiced delicacies. The touch of her hand was an electric thrill, igniting something raw and beautiful within my soul. Every secret, every stolen kiss a treasure to be savored.

The world around us blurred, colors blending into a palette punctuated by the brilliance of her eyes. I'd lose myself in those depths, feeling the weight of the years vanish like smoke. Our young love built a fortress against the chaos of the city, a haven where nothing else mattered but our beating hearts.

And the scent… that scent. It seemed woven into the very threads of those nights. Spicy and intoxicating, yet with a smooth, almost leathery warmth that spoke of untold secrets and forbidden desires. A scent that was as heady as the promise of tomorrow with her.

Then it all crumbled in a flurry of arguments and bitter tears. Our fortress of dreams collapsed as swiftly as it was built, leaving only silence of what might have been.

I glance at the gleaming flask resting on the balcony railing. It's a ghost of those stolen nights, a bittersweet souvenir of a love once brilliant, now faded. Its name is a brand across my heart, the extravagant, reckless joy we shared - Fucking Fabulous.

joshmW

Does not smell good. 100% chance you'll scare her away with this one. Scent dissipated after around 4 hours.

FragPW123

The bottle I've tried just says, "FABULOUS"

It was from a reputable shop, so I don't think it's a fake.

I found one seller on Amazon selling just the "Fabulous" version as well.. there's a red bar above "FABULOUS" that I think says, "FUCKING" underneath the bar?

Is it the same?? Just a censored name version? It smells FUCKING FABULOUS so I bet it's the same..

Prob gonna go back and buy it. I loved it.

astralmonad870

The Noted Aromas dupe of this is pretty good except the leather note is not so prominent so I wear it as a unisex fragrance.

Ismellit

Smells like OdoBan all purpose cleaner

ASHRAF RAAFAT ADLY MIKHAI

Very Leathery dated prominent smell with a scethatic feel to it.

archerries

Smells like a bonfire and not much else

Basman0

Yeah.. sadly i love it...
I just wish it wasn't this expensive. I'll burn through my 10 ml.
It is likeable and wearable for every day but interesting enough.
If this was half the price i would get a 50 ml, no problem. Now my journey continues.

ellis_negron

Honestly super interesting. Sort of an almondy fresh sage with a vanilla and leather edge. Super unique and everyone has different thoughts, but I personally really like it. Perfect for cooler months and into springtime because of the almond and sage combo. Stupidly overpriced though, get fabuloso intense instead.

TWN2RBO

***Beware of the reviews below, they clearly got their nose on the fakes. People have reviewed the fakes on YT and they nailed it.

TWN2RBO

I have 8 private blends, this is the most recent addition. I couldn’t pass up on the deal I got. This is a gorgeous, soft creamy almond leather type scent. Reminds me of something new, ultra luxury and plush. The slight touch of lavender really makes this a unique and original composition, the fact there are a ton of dupes speaks volumes. I get pretty good performance on my skin, 6-8 hrs. It’s a scent that really comes back out to play when your skin warms up though. This is sexy, clean, leather, almond, powder, but more in the sense of if smell has a texture, I don’t get a baby powder smell. This smells unique and expensive. Beware of fakes. Buy a decant or sample first, get familiar with it. Would I pay full retail for it? No. Can you find it for $200? Yes. Worth that.

DawnBreaker

This scent is actually pretty good. The main notes I get are clary sage, bitter almond, orris, and leather. This is masculine leaning to my nose. I find it refreshing and clean. It makes me feel confident and put together. I can understand the association with baby wipes or baby powder when smelling from the nozzle, but this dries down on the skin to something different and classy. Definitely not worth the asking price, and I hate the name, but overall a pretty decent release from Tom Ford.

MellieW

This is my first experience with Tom Ford, and it's a good one. Unisex but dries slightly masculine. Initial spray is strong, dry lavender and sage. After a bit the leather and vanilla come out. Usually leather scents turn sour on me but this one works; which is good because it sticks around for a long time and blends in with the base notes. I like this on me, I love it on my husband. Lasts all through my work day but doesn't wear well after the gym so won't be wearing it during the summer.

1969Holiday@

Tried this in store on skin and on a test strip and genuinely the only way to describe this is that it smells like testicle sweat.

Ara3

Canabis smell on my skin blended with there other fragrance bitter peach longevity is quite good and has a supringly pleasent smell not worth the price but extremely unique.

LauraFrançoise

To me it smells like the Lush Twilight pillow spray, i’m baffled nobody is mentioning it! Maybe I have a weird batch?

ElijahMorningstar

Not a fan, smells like the inside of a fresh Halloween mask. Not for me

[email protected]

I’m not. Big clary sage/ lavender combo fan. It’s just not very interesting to me and reminds me of YSL’s Y line. And no TF FF does not smell the same, but the that opening is similar and is just blah for me. This is complex but it lacks that Tom Ford magic. I much prefer black orchid.

iblamesaud

my first impression was hell nah, but overtime I started to like it, it smells like sweet leather and kind of synthetic. I wouldn't call it my favorite, but I like it. I'll give it a 7/10 because of the price… still not worth the hype

ezequiel91

ABSOLUTELY OVERRATED! NO FABULOUS BY ANY MEANS. Synthetic generic plastic like. CRAP.

Blazing Lazers

Can't stand how this smells on me, on others, clothes, air etc. However, it seemed to please women the couple times I wore it. I'd be nauseous if a woman wore this on a date. True definition of a personally polarizing fragrance.

Dweezy

To be honest I don't know how I feel about this one. I spray it and what I get most of is the bitter almond with vanilla and a slight hint of floralness from the lavender. It's not my typical scent I'd reach for but I keep finding myself smelling my hand. So I would say its an intriguing scent but can't really see a specific occasion to wear. Don't blind buy. Test it out on skin before you buy a full bottle. I would definitely say it is unisex. I can see either a man or women wearing this casually.

toffeeandcream

I purchased the Oil Perfumery impression of this scent. It was a total blind buy, so I had no idea what to expect except for the fact that according to reviews, it smells virtually identical to the original Tom Ford recipe.

And wow. This is one of those scents that feels exactly like what I imagined big-girl perfume to smell like as a little girl. It’s fun. Sophisticated. Unique. The lavender is strong but not overbearing and pairs beautifully woodier, sweeter base notes.

I admit that it’s not for everyone. The scent is polarizing—you either love it or you don’t. In my case, I think I may have found a new favorite scent for my daily rotation. It’s a little strong, so a little goes a long way. Maybe pass on this one if you’re predisposed to perfume-induced headaches.

All in all, definitely one of my new favorites! Recommend to anyone who likes lavender-heavy scents.

AnastasiaGostieva

It’s such a pretty scent!!
I wish it wasn’t that expensive :(
It starts with a fresh (almost minty) aromatic accord and develops into slightly sweet green almonds. After a while it becomes sweeter. It’s quite radiant. I can feel a touch of plastic-y (maybe even latex) note, but it doesn’t bother me much.

A lavander, realistic leather scent with violet facets to it from the orris root. Kind of nasty imo

Kahiola

King of the parfumes! Amazing, such a noble parfume. I love it.

colombej

This fragrance is easily in my top 10 all time. I believe it doesn't deserve the hate it gets (although I understand the price is ridiculous as is the case with most TF), and is certainly one of the most unique scents I have ever smelled. This fragrance took time to grow on me, but now, I absolutely love it. A staple in my winter collection and wouldn't have it any other way. Herbaceous, bitter almond, and makes my nose go numb it smells so strong. Would recommend to anyone to try, but I understand it's polarizing and the things I love about it, not everyone will care for or may downright hate. But I truly believe it's a scent that you have to mature with and let it grow on you.

Dumbplings

Smells like blackcurrant, clary sage, lavender, medicinal cherry, peppery leather... Also a dry hay like tobacco / vetiver / palo santo smell to it.... Strangely enough it's also musky, powdery, medicinal, peppery, leathery. It's quite a strange fragrance

But I think has some similarities with Nuit d'issey by issey miyake & Initio musk therapy

TF FF starts out as a really compelling scent on me. The first 30 minutes is something I can't quite describe, it's complicated and sexy and pheromone-al in that it was a scent I felt and reacted to on a physical level that I couldn't distinguish any notes. It's like a skin scent in that it smelled like me but 10000 times better. It was heady and light but rich all at once. Aromatic is a good first decripter and leather is second for me but that second note obliterates everything else and takes over.

Then, the leather note came out, and it grew and grew and grew. I'm learning I really don't like leather notes. It's a lighter, creamier leather than other leathers but I still didn't care for it. It made me nauseous.

If you like leather scents, this is a truly awesome scent you might love. Try a sample first and wear it for a while. It changed so completely on me after 30 minutes.

scenturian

Come on guys there is nothing sweet in this fragrance.
It is a leather and bitter-almond fwd perfume.

Ollieking103

Smells like expensive leather perfect for age 50+

ShaunMichael

I have a bottle that’s 3/4ths full if anyone would like to buy. FRAGRANCE ENTHUSIASTS ONLY. No merchants

solulszabolcs

Not for everyone. I appreciate it, but it's not my scent.

Scratch & Sniff

I bought this years ago for the name. Let’s be honest with each other: we all did.

In my 20s, I assumed that Tom Ford could do no wrong and that this fragrance would be equally as edgy as its namesake. I was mistaken on both accounts. Truth be told, the scent isn’t that great and it sure as f--- doesn’t live up to the name.

It’s primarily a leather scent, but not in a bad-boy-in-a-leather-jacket kind of way. The vanilla and the overpowering almond note tag team this fragrance to emasculate it into something that's cloyingly sweet. It subdues the scent to become, instead, a soft-boy-in-a-suede-jacket.

In five words or less: Great f---ing marketing, limp execution.

JangJun

Today, my vial package come. After Initial spay and I wonder why people rate it so high. Light sofa leather smell with some intoxicating scent. Not worth for a price and my expectation. You can always pick Ombre Leather parfum if you want better, bolder or thicker scent. Imo, after tried almost all TF perfume: Costa Azzura, Ombre Leather, Bois Marocain, Bitter Peach, Rose Prick, Noir. Final, I’m in love with Oud Wood and Ebene fume. They are the best from TF house. So buy blind buy 2 and forget other because I tried for you.
- update: Bleu Noir parfum got a same dry down scent like this.

Noir

A good, sweet leather fragrance from TF. It is very powdery and gives off the sense that it is clean leather that has been soaked in almonds, vanilla, lavender, and orris. I found it a bit too cloying, but for its creativity, I reckon this is one of the best from the house. Performance is alright. It took me a bit of time to like it.

sodsai

tested this on strip and skin in Neiman Marcus and it was my favorite out of all the Tom Ford selection. Smells like a leather jacket dipped in fruit candy and vanilla in the best way possible. I could see why some would be off put by it because of the creamy scent and the price. Do wish it was cheaper

Xela_529

I finally got around to trying this today, and was sooooo pleasantly surprised. So glad I tried this!! I get doll's head + a slight touch of masculinity-- but I think most women who are into fragrances can pull this off easily. Definitely one of TF's highest quality fragrances. Like a smooth almond & lavender dream. Can totally see this being my fragrance for just relaxing; it's not a fragrance for when you want to be 'girly'. Definitely lives up to its name haha. Absolutely FB worthy for me!

dopasmell

Absolutely love this, but if you want a slightly brighter smelling scent and don't care strongly for the earthy almond and orris notes, get Mancera Fig Extasy, much cheaper and gets you a similar vibe for a fraction of the cost. Fig Extasy is beautiful in its own right, and a much better value with very high quality.

TheElf

Despite the lurid - and ludicrously overblown claim - which comes with the name, this is good. Albeit a tad generic for players in the higher end luxe arena.
I wear it as an everyday scent. Sans great expectations.
Will I repurchase? No. Will I wear and enjoy it for what it is? Certainly.

Serpentarius

One of the few 'likes' from my Neiman's adventure today. I had kind of a roller coaster experience with this one, but mildly, like those old wooden roller coasters that don't go upside down or anything.

I liked the opening and though pepper isn't a note, I got that kind of 'fresh spicy' vibe that I like. Almost a sparkle/fizz quality, can't put my finger on it.

Thought the mid was meh, sort of elusive. But this dry down?? Love it!! It's 6 hours later and though it's faint, that's what I want to smell like.

It's a like for me, not a love. Not FB worthy so maybe a 10 ml at some point. May try a dupe but this is one where I feel the OG's blend and ingredients are what do it for me.

lidor

What you get in this perfume is an aromatic leather scent with almonds. The smell is very unique and well made.

Disgusting. I couldn't bring myself to sniff this off my wrist. It smells like lavender scented burnt plastic and soap. I must admit on the testing paper it left me with my jaw dropped. Smelled like Jesus himself, clean, sexy, fresh, a bit floral. Too bad it smells like burnt garbage on my skin. Definitely not blind buy safe

jam09

I rarely write reviews, but this fragrance deserves one. I will say upfront that I absolutely loathe this scent, but it's also fascinating! I couldn't stop smelling my wrists while I was wearing it even though I knew it wasn't for me. It smells *exactly* like someone set plastic on fire in my grandparent's old retirement home. Disgusting, but weirdly captivating too. I can see why people are so taken with it.

PrincipeFilip

I do not understand why this fragrance has that many haters. Maybe because of its name. I do understand this is a very expensive fragrance by tom ford but actually it is quite unique and interesting, if money is no point this can be a no brainer for younger crowd. Very versatile, extremly long lasting and great performer. And still gets low scores for performance on this site which i do not understand. This easily last up to 10 hours and project fantastic for couple or hours, you dont need more than 4-5 sprays

dan99

I agree with the comments below that this is a statement piece as it is very unique. There is this herbaceous note that gives it a salty feeling. I think it is coming from the clary sage but its beautifully contrasted with this fresh aromatics that some associate with baby wipes. To me it smells fresh and clean that is mixed in with some dirtiness. It is very good, but I can definitely see that it may not be for everyone.

broccoli24

FF gets a lot of points for being unique, that's for sure. In fact, it grew on me a lot over time. However, I think at its price point, there are a lot of other fragrances that I would consider buying a full bottle for. I understand the appeal, truly. But, I think the marketing surrounding this fragrance and its uniqueness are the main reasons people really talk about this one.

mosquitosprayer221

honestly really like this fragrance. it is masculine and also sweet. it would be my signature scent if it was not too expansive

armature

Smells like a freshly chlorinated public pool.

Amelio77

u need time to get so used to this kinda smeell i didnt like it first few days also , but now i can sense all the different notes , its very mature aromatic leathery lavender .. its also veristle to me ,, i feel like you can wear this even in summer nights. and every other weather and occasions it suits. Great projection and longevity .

signalfire

What *IS* that? Did you take Tom Cruise's 'Maverick' leather jacket from Top Gun and soak it in pickle juice? I get spoiled leather, a weird maybe lavender background and loads of sage. No vanilla. Next time, just leather, please.

With a name like that, best do a roaring fireplace in a log cabin, far in the northern pine wilderness, Christmas Eve and you just *know* that you're going to get what you really, really wanted for Christmas. And YOU get to unwrap him.

Jckayyyyyyy

Smells like piney hospital cleaner on me. Tried wearing 3 times and gave my tester away.

Pwaladdi

This I might say has gotten me compliments, it’s not my favorite scent, however I prefer layering it with a sweeter fragrance. The longevity and projection is incredible.

LotsofLisa76

This was a bit overwhelming for me. As ridiculous as it sounds, it was like I doused myself in diesel fuel. but I happily gave it to my husband who loves and wears it. Every now and then IK give it a spritz to layer on top of in the cold months.

Yalcin05

"the name" promises a lot, its a new trend i guess the names since a couple of years, altough tom ford has a brilliant marketing, since it always works and reaches his goal: SEDUCTIVE, sexy, mysterious... it doesnt mean its an amazing scent, but its TF who aims for that vibe, which they nailed again with this perfume.

It opens with a very strong dose of pure lavender oil, beneath directly that rough leather vanilla and almond. Beautiful opening, and yes some of the people about baby wipes, i get it, but its not... After the opening it continues the lavender keeps there but the clary sage dissapears finally, which is the least ingredient i like in this composition. Now the almond, vanilla base with that rough leather is really clear and starts to project very good!

During the day it softens and the leather is very smooth now, like its silky. The almond and vanilla are still there but more relaxed, and suddenly the smell of a iris pops out... its indeed fabolous in the air, where you can pick them up, the base, the mid and even still the lavender...

End of the day: soft vanilla with some iris touches... but still famliar profile to the opening. So what i think about this scent.. like i said TF nailed the name for sure, but because of that it comes with a ridicilous price.. the blend is good, clever and quality, but there is no single expensive material used in here, like pure oils, or stronger concentration of a vanilla or orris. It could have been something from the signature line (pricewise). But yeah its TF they are all overpriced in this private blend right...?

i give it a 8/10 because of the price, but smell and performance are great! would i pay retail? No... i got it for the half at least. But is it worth it? Yes it is... just try to find at discounters. No idea about batches and reformulations, but i have a 2017 batch.

DarthFragrance

I'm using up the rest of my decant today of FF. I love this fragrance, it smells so good while being unique, it really smells nothing like anything I own. Out of my entire collection, if I had to compare it to anything, I'd compare it to Pegasus and the 2 are not even close. FF is sweet, spicy, leathery, creamy and woody. They are all notes I've smelled so many times before, but blended in a way that makes it smell so unique and irresistible. Longevity is good and projection is moderate.

I recently bought the Maison Alhambra clone of FF called Fabulo Intense, and I'm wearing that on my right hand and FF on my left hand. They smell slightly different during the first 10 minutes with FF being slightly warmer and smoother, but then they end up in the same place. The clone is noticeably stronger in both longevity and projection than FF, and I think the strength is partially responsible for the difference in scent during the opening. Whatever cloning technology they're using these days seems to be really good, because now that I own Fabulo Intense, I don't feel the need to get FF because they are so close and the clone has added performance. I asked someone else to smell and compare both scents on my skin, and they thought I was playing a trick on them and that it was the same scent on both hands.

greg.3

My local Cosmetic Co Store started carrying the small Tom Ford 2ml retail samples, and they had FF along with several other scents. 6 for $15, limit 2 of each scent per person. I bought two Rose Prick, two Myrrh Mystere, and two F-ing Fabulous. Spray FF on my left arm and MM on my right arm. After two hours, the FF has faded to a faint skin scent, while the MM is still powering along at least 40-50% as strong as it was after the first 15 minutes.

Overall, the FF is pleasant, but not altogether complex and definitely "Fabulous" in any sense. I'd call it "Overwhelmingly Average".

The dry down after two hours smells like it has some incense/labdanum in it, even though that's not listed in the notes. I pick up a -very- light leather and amber, with a touch of wood but can't tell what kind.

The Myrrh Mystere is definitely more interesting, I'll write a separate review of that one!

gandrasta

Ok I smell the experimental side of this perfume. Reminds me so much to Ganymede but with leather instead of metallic rust. It's piercing aromatic with a lot of dusty leather backbone. Quirky, long lasting yet versatile. It's indeed fucking fabulous!

AUyliong

Initial notes smell like the taste of cherry-flavored hard candy. It's sweet and saccharine.

5 minutes later, it has transformed into raspberry flavored candy. I'm getting some tartness but it is still very very sweet. Like a candy. Lavender is deep in the background. I get some licorice every now and then but this is a supporting actor to the hard candy. All that said, the opening is very unisex. It doesn't skew to one sex or the other.

Strong projection. Bold and concentrated.

45 mins: Not much change other than the scent has subdued a little. There is a scented lipgloss quality to the scent now which makes it skew feminine. Otherwise, it's pretty linear.

55 mins: scent has subsided even more. I'm detecting a little bit of powderiness coming through. It's not overwhelming like in Guerlain's Black Perfecto but it's helping give the dying embers of the cherry note some lift for that final push as it crosses the 1 hr mark.

1 hr 30 mins: There's still some hard candy sweetness left but vanilla has now taken center stage. Orris is deep in the background.

1 hr 40 mins: Vanilla is gone replaced by a beautifully blended perfume-y flower - clary sage? It smells like expensive women's perfume.

2 hrs 40 mins: There's been no change since the 1 hr 40 min mark other than gradual diminishing of intensity. It's much softer now. I never really got any leather or cashmeran - at least not in how I recognize them from Tom Ford. They're probably very well blended into the composition and act more as bit players rather than stars of the show.

3 hrs: Tonka bean with a subtle hint of amber very lightly scented with lavender. We're officially down to the base notes. Amazingly, it's still projecting - at least arm's length.

5 hrs: Still going strong but no change.

5.5 hrs: Intensity has fallen off a cliff from just 30 mins ago. It's very very faint now and hard to detect. I actually thought it was gone for a second there.

7 hrs: Still there. Skin scent but undeniably still there.

9 hrs in: Still not gone. Longevity of this on clothes must be beastly.

Finally completely gone after about 13 hrs. Not sure if it's just my skin chem that made it go eternal. Most others don't seem to have the same result.

Unapologetically Bold and Seductive

I recently added Tom Ford's "Fucking Fabulous" to my fragrance collection, and I must say, it lives up to its audacious name. This scent is a masterpiece that exudes confidence and sophistication.

The opening notes hit you with a captivating blend of lavender and bitter almond, creating an intriguing and bold introduction. As the fragrance evolves, the heart notes of orris root add a touch of elegance and depth, seamlessly transitioning into the intoxicating allure of leather. The dry down is where "Fucking Fabulous" truly shines, with the warmth of tonka bean leaving a lingering, sensual trail that lasts for hours.

What I appreciate most about this fragrance is its uniqueness. It's not your typical, run-of-the-mill scent; it's a statement. The juxtaposition of the floral and nutty elements with the rich, leathery undertones creates a composition that is both daring and refined.

Performance-wise, it's outstanding. The longevity is impressive, and the sillage is just right—enough to leave a memorable impression without overwhelming the senses. I find it suitable for various occasions, from a night out on the town to a special event where you want to make a lasting impact.

The sleek, black bottle with gold accents is a visual representation of the luxuriousness within. While the price point may be higher, the quality and craftsmanship are undoubtedly worth it.

In conclusion, if you're searching for a fragrance that breaks free from convention and elevates your presence with an unapologetically bold and seductive aura, "Fucking Fabulous" by Tom Ford is, without a doubt, a worthy investment. It's a fragrance for those who appreciate the artistry of perfumery and want to leave an unforgettable impression wherever they go.

Phenolic leathery fougere with a lot of bitter almond and tonka. The only obscenity here is the price.

Disclaimer: I don't rate fragrances based on popularity or brand. I base ratings on what does or doesn't work with my individual chemistry, as should we all.

Having said that, I f*cking LOVE this scent because it absolutely LOVES me. I don't know what it is about my specific chemistry but the end result once they combine is intoxicating, sensual and unique. Opening is a tad harsh but that mellows within 20 minutes. My husband is extremely (and I mean irritatingly so) picky about my fragrance choices but this is his #1 favorite for me where my #1 favorite is actually a split between Narciso Rodriguez red and white cubes. I've been on far too many fragrance journeys to figure out what does and doesn't work. For instance, while I adore Michael Kors Sexy Amber in the bottle it transforms into a God awful stench similar to sweaty socks / locker room BO if I dare to wear even a spritz. Fragrances with amber as a top, middle or dominating note for whatever reason are not a good fit but as a base note its perfectly fine. Fabulous is a scent you'll likely love or hate, accept that. If its a match you'll be drowning in compliments. Lasts throughout the day and still present the next morning, pricey but distinctive and 100% worth it in my experience.

gorin

extremely good.
but polarizing perfume
the initial spray is a bit weird
once it dries its awesome.

misunderstood.

Swaraj Sunku

Opens up with a Slightly fresh floral musk... very subtle... Heavyy on musks... Can Smell a lot of Cashmeran & ends up being a balsamic amber accord... Very well balanced perfume

carrico1986

Holy smokes! First spray smells like really strong vicks vapour rub even though there is no eucalyptus in this. Thankfully it dries down quickly to a pleasant, smooth lavender/clary sage/cashmere skin scent. I'm not picking up any other notes though, other than those 3. I spritzed myself 3 times and it already seems to be fading away. Pleasant aroma but no longevity.

PrincessPP

Doesn’t have any sillage on me and doesn’t last at all. Smells like a man’s cologne from Walgreens. The name doesn’t match what you get. Glad it was only a sample. I see nothing feminine in this fragrance at all

Jadore87

Blind bought this with high expectations…. If you name a fragrance F*king Fabulous its only normal to anticipate something completely unique and soul transforming. Im so mad because you could spray mosquito repellent on my other arm and i would completely absolutely believe that it was FF by TF. Its so ridiculous the audacity they had to name this perfume FF when it smells putrid. The dry down is horrendous and not even in a cool niche, if you get it you get it kind of way.

lmnsvgz

Clean leather rubbed with vanilla and lavender. A nice balance of airy and smooth, but still strong.

hellogoddag

This is weird. Experimental, avant garde, snobbish fragrance. But i like it.
Powdery, leather, floral profile with a what the fukk factor.
I love the ingenuity of Tom Ford fragrances.

Uncensored adult rebellious fragrance. Just as the name suggests

gorin

Extremely misunderstood and over-hated fragrance.
Initial spray may be too floral and sweet for some, might also stay a little cloying throughout the day.
Interesting and unique; progresses very nicely from sweet spray to a more masculine leathery/amber dry down.
Great performance.

renan franzener

After seing these reveals, and other videos about these fragrance, I see that this fragrance it's a 50/50. I have a sample and I absolutely love this fragrance! The opening of sage and lavender it's very interesting, making diferent of the boring citrus opening that has on other fragances, and the dry down that makes me love this fragrance, the mix of almond, vanille and leather, with a little bit of powdery, makes something wonderful and masculine. The performance is very good.

NOTE: I'm sorry if I make any gramatical errors on my review, english It's not my main language 😅

soley.fragrance

I absolutely hate this smell it smells like a worn leather couch that has floral notes in it so not reccomend for blind buy at all😀

Nate_915

Never understood the appeal of this from spraying it on sample cards at stores. Finally tried it on skin and found it addicting, so I recently got a 50ml bottle and enjoy it more every time I wear it. I don’t get much sweetness from vanilla/tonka. On me this dries down to leather/bitter almond with some of that lavender/sage remaining. It’s very unique and I totally understand why people might not like it.

Arifyusof92

I hate this smell. This smells like an old uncle just came back from a long office work who rides an old car while smoking a cigar.. Luckily i bought a decant of this by accident. It smells like a baby soap really strong lavender, sage & tonka bean. I dont really get the leather notes in this and after sniffing too hard it kind of burnt my inner nose a little bit.

This is a totally the type of perfume that u wear it for yourself as u not going to get compliments.

Overall rating 5/10
Blind buy? Not at all.

C.P.71

Anyone else getting D&G By vibes?

Pentagon

Strong sage opening that dries down to baby wipes. I do not smell the vanilla, bitter almond, tonka, and amber -- in fact, if you go by the notes, your mind would conjure up a delicious fragrance. I personally find the sage and lavender opening off-putting, and I only stuck it out because I bought a bottle and was trying to make it work. I suppose when the fragrance dries down to the powdery note, it's more tolerable. But for this price, it indeed should be f***ing fabulous! This is just a luxury brand coming out with a brilliantly marketed concept because, with such an audacious name, you believe that it must be good. Unfortunately, it's not.

caracalla

I find the opening a tad unpleasant, but it dries down to a nice scent. I've made the mistake of spraying this both on my clothes and my skin, and on the clothes this harsh unpleasantness seems to last forever. But where I've sprayed on the skin it's quite pleasant, full bodied yet soft.

#259 in my "Tour de Fragrance"

I think we can all agree that Tom Ford scents are really excellent for the most part, and really pricey on the whole, which is why so many really good dupes are out there for much of the line. At $279 for the 50 mil bottle this stuff is very pricey for what you get. Saks actually wants $595 for 50 mil. The pricing would be insane for this admittedly very nice scent if we had a dozen strong competitors offering identical DNA. Sadly, we do not, and Tom Ford knows it hence the pricing. Everyone goes for the Fabulo Intense by Maison Alhambra but it absolutely does not replicate the floral notes of this fragrance, so I don't see it as an adequate replacement. I haven't tried the Alexandria Fragrances dupe, but the 50/50 up and down votes on that similarity tells you they haven't come up with a decent clone either. And whoever was reminded of Al Hamarain Amber Oud Black Edition, get your sinuses checked. You've got a condition.

The closest dupe I've found is Miris 33296, a dupe being sold on Amazon for $23.34. It's a Ukrainian lab and I've tried a dozen of their dupes so far and they are close enough on most of their efforts I've sampled. Still, this Tom Ford scent is apparently more complex than the TF haters will want to admit. But let's be honest about the hostility here. If Tom Ford Scents were priced under $99 would there be any haters? You know there wouldn't be. We'd all love to wear this stuff every day, but if it's this or health insurance. Certainly, this is a great scent. I love some lavender and iris in my fragrances, and I've shelled out over $250 a bottle to get them in the past, but not something I would do to have more than one such fragrance on the shelf. I have Amouage Reflection and Interlude Black Iris already, so for that category I think I'm well covered.

This is a fair projector for an hour, long-lasting on the skin. I don't see this as unisex at all, which the lack of female reviewers has already confirmed. I'd go easy in close spaces like a car-pool, elevator. I just got a lecture from one of my tres L.A. girlfriends about men wearing strongly projecting fragrances and how most women find it off-putting. I have always avoided smelling like a New York cab driver for that reason, though some of those guys and the long hours they pull, hygiene becomes an issue only Brut or Old Spice can handle. I'd just say go easy with this until you have a sense of how it performs, and don't bother spraying your clothes.

Ahmet Reis

Hell No, Its not similar @Dior Sausage

op81

i'd say this is my signature fragrance. it is beautiful and brings such a deep smell. It's warm, it's spicy and It's good for a winter or fall fragrance. the leather is so strong so if you like smelling like some dark and cynical yet sexy mafia boss I'd heavily suggest buying this. One thing I'm upset about with this fragrance is that it does not project as much as I wish it did. When people lean in and smell, they'd compliment but I thought this would project across the hallway or something. It lasts a long time, but spray the right places if you worry about long lasting

abbolton

Smells great, but way overpriced for a scent that actually isn’t all that unique. Very strong and Long lasting though.

BLIENTELE

How the hell is this so basic? Tell me which perfume is similar to this? Give me an example?

Scissorslizardspock

Not at all what expected with such barbershop and herbal notes, but this is a tonka bean lavender fragrance with suede touches and a soft vanilla background. It’s not gourmand, but it’s not floral or entirely herbal either.

I’m not sure about the reviews calling this common or basic…. I’ve yet to smell such a smooth and full-bodied lavender. The well-blended almond-tonka mix is just seamless.

Perhaps since I’m a woman, I haven’t smelled enough lavender dominant scents, but I’m very familiar with the current lavender trend in women’s fragrances, and none are like this. I’m a girly-girl and feel perfectly feminine in this, but can also see it on a man, it’s totally genderless. It’s a relaxing sort of scent that helps to calm the senses. I really like this, I’m so glad I have it.

Update November 23: my husband has stolen my bottle. And since he smells amazing, I can’t complain even a little bit.

skalathraxx

This is overhyped honestly.

First spray is kinda cool.
Very rich, leather, almond, tonka, fresh lavender.

After couple of hours I have only almond and powdery. Smells like Sephora cosmetics to my nose.
Nothing horrible, but Ill be mad to pay full price for such basic sent at very premium price.
Next.

Silverquick

Vanilla - lavender toilet spray over rubber balloons and an old raincoat… :-/ Tonka presenting as vanilla is soft and powdered, accompanying the lavender…but quickly turns sour and pivots into a sharp and cheap toilet spray note. The rubber/raincoat accord is the death knell. My wallets sighs in relief. It’s f$&king something 🫤

seandere

Not hating but after going through about 3/4 of my 30 ml tester I found its not my scent, to me it smells like what flower or powdered sugar feels like or whatever the white powder the barber puts on your neck. After the dry down it's alight but the top I don't get any lavender, I would recommend you try it but it's not for everyone.

Watchthethrone

Overhated.

Scentrist

I just got done reading one of these mundane "Top-## Leather fragrance" articles and among them a host of very 'non-leather' scents were mentioned, plus this among them. Ok, I can see where someone might want to drop this in even tough it's much more antithetical to a more purist leather scent (and I can think of many leather fragrances that are much more faithful to that note without taking anything away from TFPB Fucking Fabulous. I like FF. It's interesting. But more than anything, it permeates with almond and vanilla, and Tuscan Leather would have been a better choice for the category. All that aside, this never reaches beyond that vanillin/almond/powdery air for me, and tends to occupy this ethereal space where it projects well and stays above the skin but doesn't really infuse enough to my skin chemistry to share the space. I like it on occasion on a warm evening when I can wear it and make a different statement than usual. I've had it some years now and I won't say I feel a true sense of enjoyment about wearing it, and returning to it for another try doesn't engender it further to me enough to say I love it or it's just really f'ing fabulous. It's there not as a highlight, not as a favorite, but as that conversation piece of art on the wall that says nearly nothing about the wearer and leaves most confused to its statement.

But to my mind and nose, this isn't leather but rather an overpriced and pretentious latte where the barista greets me with a tip jar and a tablet clamoring for me to "extend my spend" for the privilege of stopping by. I'll still be looking for my comfy loafers and leather jacket.

auntwebbie

I feel so perplexed by this one. I get an almond-floral thing, sure, but my nose can’t dive any deeper than that into the floral because I am derailed by a synthetic rubber or plastic note that gives me a touch of nausea. I’m a little new to the Tom Ford collection, and I love Black Orchid, Bitter Peach, and Rose Prick (powdery grandmother smell? heck no!). But this one and I are not a fated pair. Better for my pocketbook.

LaLaPop75

Ooooo, this one's nice. You gotta know these notes to appreciate it though. The clary sage so very well done with lavender and bitter almond. The leather comes out later with orris and cashmere. I'm loving it. Feminine and sexy. Very well done TF.

R.diggity

Absolutely amazing to make a unisex fresh and Animalic leather fragrance.

On me, this feels like an Initio take on ombre leather. Absolutely beautiful, I had to hold it.

AlaskanAngel

This has to be the most disjointed Tom Ford fragrance I've encountered. I love several of his works for how smooth and beautiful they are. This one never settles into a harmonious, well-rounded scent. It sings boldly but slightly off key.

Review of official boxed spray sample that came free with purchase.

AhmedElbahja95

When I first smelt this I thought I loved it. I turned out to be wrong. I really dislike this fragrance. I usually never purchase at first sniff and I usually let a fragrance dry down on my skin for at least 2 hours before buying. I bought this at first sniff. I went against my own rules and now I regret it. If you like leathery fragrances then this is for you. I get a very strong leather scent when it dries down. I don't like it and I regret buying it. I don't think this is fucking fabulous. I think it's fucking gross. I rate this 4/10.

cyung

A very divisive fragrance for sure. Smelling it in the store, I am immediately reminded of an Asian snack which is watermelon seeds cooked in licorice (equivalent of sunflower seeds). The fragrance instantly took me back to my childhood due to the similarity of the smells but ultimately distracts me from enjoying the fragrance as it smells more like a snack. My friend who smelled this and did not have this comparison to draw claimed that it smelled great and very masculine to him. Definitely not for me but I can see how others would enjoy this.

russtoll101

Not for me. Something not quite right about its balance. Smells quite cheap and no longevity.

astralmonad870

If I buy lavender scents, they must smell substantially different from the essential oil I get for £9.99 a 100 ml bottle. The lavender note in this is slightly green but quite therapeutic so I bought Noted Aroma’s excellent dupe. I’m not ashamed that I buy their dupes instead of the originals because they have better performance for £20 a bottle. And I admit that I’m on a nutty accord kick lately. I am sampling Liquid Love by Penhaligon’s which has a green hazelnut note, and Chipmunk by Zoologist which also has hazelnut and almond.

marvelhat

I adore this fragrance! Sure it’s certainly unique and the opening is a little feminine for my taste but let it dry down and I find it completely addictive. Family/friends/colleagues will either love it or ask you to take a step back.

Amelio77

this fragrance i heard alot of great things about it and i was expecting something more different i tried it out in a local store its 500 $ btw and it just smeels like leather and almond to me ... i didnt pick up any lavender or vanilla or anything giving me aromatic vibes .. i really want to like it but idk i just feel like its just strong almond leather fragrance and its for a more mature man over 30 .. you need ballss to wear tthis fragrance i feel like this is best for a rich buisness guy

Fahad297

I really like it !! The smell is fancy. Creamy leathery sent, and the lavender gives it a great touch. The only problem its sooooo overpriced! totally crazy.

70-80% of the bad reviews here are from people who rate because of the expensive price and do not give a professional review however much because of the smell and the length of time the perfume lasts.
A wonderful perfume with a fine and unique smell with good durability (at least on me).

Negative reviewers don't review the juice itself but they review their hate, because it is not easily affordable.

It is expensive yes but when I compare with other expensive ones TF Private Blend line is definitely winner.

Don't be fooled by negative reviews saying it doesn't perform etc. It is completely lie.
I had/have many from TF Private Line, their performance outrageous and the each one is a mastery of art.

Fountain30

Mediocre wordy aromatic with absolutely abysmal performance. Couldn’t detect it on my skin after 2 hours. Shocking!

$395 for 1.7oz for what is this! There is leather, but no one scent stands out; they are all fighting each other. The dry down is more pleasant, but not magical. Again, like Rose Prick, this has a lot of DNA from a few Etat Libre d'Orange fragrances I have samples of, but none of the ones it imitates are scents I would splurge on. This was a very expensive gift, so I wanted to fall in love with it on the spot. This scent is not what I would call unisex at all. This leans more masculine, but it is not sexy, nor is this the scent of sex in a bottle. My brother, who is like my adopted son, purchased this for me and our noses are usually very similar. He told me it was unique and smelled like sex to his nose, so the marketing worked its magic on him. I asked him to describe it more because the reviews were very mixed and almost worrisome for such a blind buy splurge, as he was at the store and I was not. We live far from the closest store that sells more than just a few Tom Ford scents. He added more and said it smelled like a "Princess dream castle" to his nose. His imagery and descriptions eased any worries I had when he decided to purchase the 1.7oz. The only thing F****** Fabulous is how wealthy Estee' Lauder is getting from this scent. I will try to layer it and try to bring out more of the leather and somehow I will try to grow to love it.

F****** expensive and Fabulous hype in every bottle!

This smells nothing like cocaine, unless they’ve changed what coke is since the early 2000s when I could be bothered with it.

Powdery leather, a hint of soap and a touch of sage. I really enjoy it. Clean and refreshing. Longevity could be improved though.

DFitz949

Anyone who thinks this smells like cocaine is high (no pun intended). This smells NOTHING like cocaine. Y’all were sniffing baby powder. And no, I’m not advocating for anyone to do drugs or that they’re cool (they’re not). But for anyone who’s never done cocaine, smells this, and thinks this is what cocaine smells like, it doesn’t. Not even a little bit. I’m an ex-addict, so believe me, I would know. 9 years clean 🥳

Now on to the actual frag. This scent is decent. Nothing groundbreaking or revolutionary, and def not worth the price tag. It smells like almonds doused in powder with a hint of leather. It def does not live up to its name. This is far from fabulous, and def not fuckin fabulous. It’s fuckin decent at best. I wouldn’t buy a bottle. It’s also not blind buy worthy. You’re going to want to test this first. Unisex for sure.

FancyPants

It's a lovely fragrance, but I think the name over-promises a little.

It has a soap gift-set, or Yankee candle vibe to it. Nothing offensive, but also nothing to make you feel special. I'm relieved a bought a sample first.

I mostly get almonds with soft hints of the others notes for around 6 hours. It's soft and subtle with gentle creamy almond. It's a pleasant fragrance, but nothing different. Maybe F'ing pleasant might have been a better name.

Thanks for reading.

I don't know what cocaine smells like, and I could swear I've never heard that this is meant to smell like it, but upon trying it the thought "this smells like cocaine" popped into my mind. Maybe it reminds me of Nasomatto's China White, which I have heard smells like cocaine.

When I don't think about the coke angle, I like this. Sage, leather, and a very dry almond are the main notes to my nose. But I'm kind of weirded out thinking of smelling like drugs, and I'm not sure I'll be able to get over that...

It does a good job getting compliments but its smells mid tbh. There's way better Tom Fords.

Something about this just fascinates me. It's purely unisex, which I love, and it just smells as the name says: F-cking Fabulous. The lavender and vanilla just melt together so perfectly, and the drydown is the most positively unique thing I have smelled. I'd say it's worth the price, it's simply a gorgeous scent.

I was on trip few months ago and passing tru duty free shop and checking some perfumes, then a sales lady came to me and asked if she could help, I said ok why not.

She started to show me some perfumes, and telling this one smells like cocaine that one smells like cocaine.
I said to myself wth. Then when I was leaving from there I was passing close to another client with some another sales assistant, guess what, I heard that sa also was telling smells like cocaine, I said to myself wtf happening.

Now I really don't understand what the hell is this cocaine smelling trend everywhere? Isn't it somehow encouraging people get into illegal drugs?

Hipno

I understand why it’s called Fucking Fabulous cuz it smells just like cocaine and cocaine makes you feel fucking fabulous haha.
So amazed by how it just took me back to the first time I did coke, it just has that same metallic/chemical smell that is very reminiscent of the taste of coke on the back of your throat/nose after snorting it. Brings back a lot of mixed memories lol.
In the opening it’s a lot sweeter but as it dries down you’ll get that cocaine smell specially when smelling it up close to where it’s applied. In the air it’s more pleasant with more vanillic notes coming through with some lavender. As it becomes a skin scent it gets more powdery and the cocaine smell dissipates.
Wanted to try this because of the comparison to Open White by Roger & Gallet however idk if they actually smell similar.
Very unique and you can tell it’s by Tom Ford. For ppl smelling this in the air it’s probably gonna translate as a sharp leather/animalic fragrance with some sweetness which can be pleasant specially in colder weather but it’s not very versatile or mass appealing.
Don’t let the “cocaine” accord scare you because I’d compare it to animalic notes in other fragrances so if you like that kinda vibe it will satisfy you. The only problem with this fragrance is the price. I don’t necessarily feel the need to pay the amount they're asking for since it only lasted for 6 hours on my skin however for a good deal it’s worth a purchase.

Azriel - Indonesian

This perfume is good, the smell is sexy (especially for a grown women smelling this, will find out this smell is so sexy) with a hint of leather and a bit of almond (bitter almond) make this perfume smell spicy but sexy.

Ever smell cocaine?? Well, BOOM! Now you have! Congrats. Not sure, as I look over the notes here, what exactly would be responsible for that accord, but it's there. I'm thinking it's the bitter almond. Anyway, it's quite amazing how present that accord is; so much so I can't enjoy it....at all. Just triggers some really bad memories/ feelings that I would rather not drum up every time I spay this. That, and I really don't want to smell like blow all day.

actually smells like cocaine

cocaine with a sweet/bitter touch from the vanilla and almond.
with that being said I still love it
I find it comforting for some reason,,, maybe its the lavender lol

I can't describe how much I f.cking love this arrogant juice. It is sure from hell, so vile and wicked.

Very classy high end perfume. Very niche. Unique masterpiece. Such a statement maker.

Devil now wears FF.

Definitely not for faint-hearted nor untrained noses.

Don't bury your nose where you sprayed at, just smell the bubble around you when moving.

scenturian

My new fu.king addiction. Hail you Tom Ford.

Complex scent profile, gourmand, leathery, powdery, soapy.

Initial spray smells like anise which has kinda menthol medicinal effect.
Then settles into almond-leather perfume, what I get is roasted almonds and leather at the heart and dancing other notes around. For me overall effect is like bitter leather scent with some powdery soapy aspects. Sometimes more almondy sometimes more leathery, maybe the temperature.

For the price (460euro 100ml), yeah very expensive but at Ieast good projection and lasting.
Don't understand why but this one and other newer PB releases are +100euro than earlier TF Private Blends.

Finally got to smell it in Paris, pretty mid to be honest, name's a total hyperbole

ElanaEvelyn

Overall a pleasant, clean fragrance. Unisex, but can be swayed depending on a person's skin chemistry. On me, it initially opened as a very masculine aromatic scent, but developed into a surprisingly sweet feminine scent.

The opening is intensely aromatic, the lavender and sage packs a punch for me in the opening, but flashes off after an hour or so. Its smells smooth, a little bit creamy with a slight touch of dry powder, which I attribute to the orris.

The main body of the scent evokes frankincense, the smell I get when I walk past a mosque or a church. Herbaceous and lightly smokey, sweet enough that I could mistake it as a floral.

Eventually the vanilla is the only note that sticks around after a couple of hours, a subtle warm sweet wooden note.

Though an interesting and complex scent that develops overtime, this scent isn't for me. I was hoping for a more powdery-smokey scent, but this leans more green aromatic and smoke.

Read all the hype about FF and was excited to try it. Disappointed that the reviews stating it smells like expensive baby wipes were actually true. Maybe fit for a mature lady but probably headache inducing for most others.

Sweetboy05

@MatVenture Ok, nice to see you prove me wrong. I actually didn't know about some of those things. But either way, Tom Ford is still expensive just because he is one of the biggest names in the fashion industry, and he can charge a premium just because people will buy those products and have "The Ultimate Tom Ford Shopping Experience." From an economic viewpoint, this makes sense. He invents a brand, offers products, and people are willing to buy them. As a result, he can charge really whatever he wants. People (kind of) don't care. They'll buy anything for the brand recognition and to make themselves feel wealthy. His name alone is enough to get people running through the doors. But who knows? Maybe they still do use those type of ingredients, maybe they don't. I don't think either of us know that for sure. But I do find that whenever I wear a TF fragrances, it performs EXTREMELY well and has excellent longevity. So the high price is worth it imo.

MatVenture

@Sweetboy05 Neither Tom Ford, nor Creed, nor MFK, nor really any other commercial perfume house use any of those materials you listed down.

As companies that mass-produce fragrances, for one, they simply cannot afford, or bother to, spend that much money on natural raw materials, when much cheaper, longer-lasting, more specific, more varying, synthetic versions are available. Do you really think they care enough to source and spend millions materials from a natural source so obscure, that anyone would be really unlikely to know them anyway? And also, think of how much perfume these companies produce. You could not possibly have enough resources to keep up with increasing production demands, year in and year out.

Another thing is, there is also the IFRA to consider. Perfumers are not allowed to simply add however much of whatever they please into a formula to make a product. There are IFRA guidelines to be followed for what materials, and how much of each, can be allowed into a perfume.

For oud, the Aquilaria trees that agarwood comes from can, and are, actually artificially infected nowadays. Yes, it still takes years for the tree to produce and mature the oud, trees can only be infected at a certain age, and oud is still very rare and expensive, but that 2% figure really only applies for Aquilaria in the wild, which is critically endangered and protected now anyway.

Deer musk and ambergris are both banned for use in commercial perfume, and for obvious reasons, are also not sustainable sources for raw materials.

So, to summarize: Tom Ford really just is extremely overpriced, overhyped, actually cheap juice that often, as we have seen, does not live up to its exorbitant price tag.

Sweetboy05

Love the juice, hate the name.

xavi617

This is a fragrance I was dying to test for a long time. I finally tested it and just like everyone else - I hate it and love it. There’s a sharp licorice-like scent that according to this, it’s potentially the Lavender but I’ve never smelled Lavender that comes off like licorice or something similarly sharp. This is probably the sharp smell everyone seems to iiiiassociate with cocaine lol.

After the initial spray , it’s starts to dry down to something beautiful and the Vanilla & almond come to play. If I could skip straight to dry down every time I spray this , I would probably own it.

Judging by the name , I expected something along the lines of Layton Or Ombre Leather with less leather. But still this is a nice unique fragrance and as mentioned below by others - not recommended for blind buys unless you’re a collector.

Sweetboy05

@Coriemuvley Ok, let me re-phrase me sentence.
Some fragrances are more expensive than others because of other factors, nut just the ingredients. but Tom Ford, as well as other houses like Creed and MFK, use ingredients that come from certain places. I'll give you a list:

1. Rose petals, whale sperm, and deer musk. The one thing they al have in common: They're all extremely rare. Some flowers bloom one month a year, some have to be picked before sunrise, but almost all of them are delicate and have to be produced into oil immediately.

2. Jasmine. I will say that jasmine and its synthetic counterpart are used in a lot of frags, but the real stuff is pricey. It takes approximately 2,000 pounds of jasmine flowers to produce one pound of oil and 8,000 jasmine flowers to yield 1/25 ounce of the absolute oil (the most precious of oils since its the most concentrated). Because of the amounts of flowers wasted to make the oil in perfumes, the price for jasmine is quite up there.

3. Bulgarian rose. Instead of 2,000 pounds to make jasmine oil, it takes 10,000 pound of rose petals to distill ONE pound of rose oil.

4. Orris. This one's a bit simpler, although it's a headache to make this stuff. It is one of the most expensive ingredients in the world. Why? Because You need ONE TON of iris plant bulbs that have been aged 2-5 years; yes, YEARS to produce 2 kilos of essential oil.

5. Oud. This is a rare one I talked about. It comes from the wood of a tropical tree called the agar. That wood has to become infected with a mold called "Phialophora parastiica," causing the tree to produce a oud. Only 2% of agar trees produce oud, making it very precious. Therefore, its' rare, and that's what makes TF oud wood so expensive, since that scent is built around oud.

6. Musk. While natural musk is one of the most expensive animal ingredients in the world, the vast majority of it is synthetic, because in order to get natural musk, you have to kill a male musk deer, which is an endangered species.

7. Ambergris. You want to know what ambergris comes from? The intestines of a sperm whale! AND there's whale fecal matter involved in it. You're welcome.

Now that I've listed them out, can you think of any TF fragrances (besides oud wood) that use these ingredients?

Coriemulvey

@sweetboy05 no TF does not use special ingredients that are off limits to anyone else. There is nothing rare, nor hard to find in TF fragrances. Sorry to burst your bubble. Most everything is synthetic these days. The high price is for one reason only.. exclusivity.

Sweetboy05

@Asfand You seriously not going to make it your favorite just because of it's price? That's silly. If you want to make it one of your favorites, then do so. Forget about the price. Tom Ford fragrances uses ingredients that are very rare, expensive, and hard to obtain. Imagine all those bottles they make for consumers. You can see why they're so expensive.

Asfand

This is the most overpriced scent I’ve ever smelled. $500 for 100 ml is absurd. Nevertheless this scent is absolutely heavenly. The name doesn’t match the fragrance as I think this fragrance should be called just fabulous. If it wasn’t so overpriced, this would’ve been one of my favorite scents of all time.

chimpster7

Mexican accordion legend Ramon Ayala’s assistant goes into his Las Vegas penthouse suite to clean up his room after a crazy night partying. She’s looking for his accordion, goes in the bathroom, white marble, shiny knobs, high ceilings… There it is, right by the bathroom sink. Hints of Barbasol shaving cream and 3 Flowers oil linger in the air from Mr. Ayala preparing for his gig the day prior. She opens the case to inspect the accordion. She removes the instrument and finds that there is white powdery residue on the red, velvety inside of the accordion case that she dusts off with a towel and blow dryer… If you walked into the bathroom while that was going on and took a deep breath, that’s what this smells like… Luxurious, high end, freshly groomed accordion hero. The accordion smell goes away in the dry down and makes way for the cashmeran which comes off as a clean, musky skin smell. Very unique, there’s honestly nothing else quite like it and it makes an excellent addition to my collection. NOT a safe blind buy, try it out first.

HueloBien

A lot of baby wipes in here…. I mean, in the comment section.
If you don’t like a fragrance, just say it, without throwing it down under the bus.

If you like it, great, say it. If your experience is different, just say it you don’t like it.

Comments like baby wipes, BO, and such, are done in detriment of the product.
Your experience was bad, not the fragrance.
Accept your blind buy urge, and move on.

Spicey Pickled Ginger

Finally got to try it, and I'm sorry to say, what a let down. Opens with a quick 'blink and you'll miss it' blast of GREY FLANNEL, and quickly morphs to baby wipes, with the occasional whisper of GF. Seriously disappointed.

MarkoPeeko

I don’t get disinfectant, baby wipes or vomit. I don’t get coke, cocaine or cheap body wash either.

I mean, I could if I really wanted to be swayed by previous reviews and if I tried to single out an aroma.

Each to their own. That’s what makes this scent even better IMO. It’s an acquired olfactory that splits audiences.

You love it, you like it or you don’t.

Mr Ford knows exactly how to market to the customers he wants - and the ones he doesn’t. 👏🏻

will_i_smell

Never smelled cocaine before, now you have. Wow. This brought back some memories; ones I'd rather forget.

Lydscha

I was hoping to like it but I gotta admit with some of the reviews. It does smell like baby wipes. What a bummer.

acobus

I couldn't get a read at first, but all I could small for DAYS (got some on my housecoat) was gross baby wipes. Nothing remotely fabulous. But if you like it on you, it is long lasting!

nonelle

Based on the notes I thought I would like this since I usually love tonka bean, almond and orris notes. This however smells like cheap men's 3-in-1 body wash. It smells almost like menthol to me, which is very weird. Maybe it's the clary sage? All in all, it is too masculine and strange for me.

vanilla_anise

I don't know where you guys are detecting vanilla, for me this is a pungent herbal green potion. It is great, but not for me. I instantly get a headache. Also not very good with layering with other scents, it is so powerful on its own. Definitely a night perfume, imo. I smelled it on a girl during a sunday morning coffee and it just wasn't right. Same goes for Rose prick. Definitely blooms at night both FF and RP.

soothingscents

As has been said, very unique. My first experience reminded me strongly of poster putty with lavender and leather. It takes a little 'getting used to' because there is not much available out there that is similar. Way overpriced but that's the TF way isn't it? I have a travel format. Won't repeat.

DesignersOnly93

This literally smells like the $5 can of AXE body spray I used to wear back in middle school. Throw a little vanilla in the base, voilà.

AXE Phoenix to be exact. How nostalgic.

I wouldn't pay more than $5 for a 100ml.

WillWhiskey

Smells like coke and sweetness. Not worth the hype and personally don't get it.

Carlos_Torres

Honestly just get Alhambra Fabulo. It’s the SAME thing!!!

IonY

Just no. I dont like it at all. Its not my tipe. I preffer Tobacco Vanille.

Teeword1

Save your money a grab a bottle of Alhambra Fabulo Intense. 1:1 clone with much better projection and sillage at an unbeatable price.

cibomatto

I can see its resemblance to baby wipes for sure, but still I really enjoy this one. it feels like a very abstract and wearable piece on the skin with the almond, vanilla, and lavender combination. I expected it to be a very strong and harsh leathery scent from its name, but it was a surprising twist being soft and reminiscent of body cream.

hytension

It smells like deodorant.

One of those "I swear I've smelt this before" niche fragrances.

I would like a bottle but I can't justify the nearly 600 dollar price tag.

Natural ingredients

Absolute winner, I don't think there is any other close fragrance if its not clon or dup...that's why it's a masterpiece for me I just feel so nice when I wear it and walk around the people, feel amazing!
9/10

tanaC

(4 ml. decant from big bottle)

I truly hive myself for this one, In my wishlist really long time.
But after I wear it, it sums up to

"That's it.., That's all.. Is this all the hive about?"

The opening is a bit overwhelming, It reminds me of a food name "Palo" (steamed pork in dark chinese-herbal soup).

When this top note is gone, it becomes more Almondy musk (not the metalic one like, PDM Pegasus).
With sweet nuance from Vanilla, I barely notice Orris.

Further, develop, it become musky. But it's different kind of musk.
This musk have the body to it. Still quite a white musk but with additional addition of Cashmere and a woody note.
The musk smell very full, semi-sweet. Mildly syntetic accord but ok.

Personally, the name fits.

It does smell fabulous, not very loud but loud enough that you don't have put your nose on it.
Smell like expensive people's Talc / Soap, without being actually like soap or talc.

It's smells pleasant and quite versitile, perfectly unisex.

I try to write this review without bias as possible.
I am personally rooting for TomFord, but...
But... Is this truly charged at USD 185 for 50ml? even in the grey market???
It's still a very bad price point per ml. for this fragrance.

I know, I am whining right now but this doesn't have the quality
of older Tomford Private blends have, a transitioning composition or complex arrangement.

I would buy it if I face it at USD 170 something as a TomFord fragrance collector.
But Tbh, TomFord - I feel a bit sad, that they charge this truly overpriced.

I would buy if I truly face a great deal, otherwise I won't put afford finding one.
8/10 scent wise.

EDIT 1 : March 08, 2023 (noon)

NOPE JUST NOPE!

Seriously .. scent is gone in 4 hours on skin.
It's unacceptable if you gonna charge this expensive for this performance.

Please people if you decide to buy this, please try it heavily on the skin.
4 hours is unacceptable for me.

I am not picky regards the longevity even it almost skin scent or just a trace of smell I do consider as longevity.

But this is all gone in 4 hours.
I will not buy a full bottle - This is useless for me.

4/10 consider performance

OHLAWDTOMFAWD

Generally I love sage accords and fresh aromatics... But I am underwhelmed by this one. Not unpleasant, but at the cost it just doesn't have the x factor to be redeemable in my opinion.

viewDidAppear

I’ll admit I bought this because of the name, mostly. I thought I liked it, and I had a few TF creations already.

Someone else put it perfectly below. Scented baby wipes. I HAVE to layer this otherwise it doesn’t work for me. Nothing fabulous about this at all.

Patj1994

Smells like scented baby wipes, absolutely disgusting. This was a scrubber almost instantly.

Dvntex_

Beautifully constructed perfumery in my opinion, it speaks to my soul. I don't really care about the name and bottle design, to be very honest. The thing I don't understand is pricing policy of Estée Lauder, this is horrible. Perfumery here is very nice, as I said. Multifaceted, sweet, fresh slightly dirty, quite complex, very clever manipulation with raw materials. Definitely not a French style of building a perfume.

I believe, a musk accord is a key in this. The perfumer knows how to manipulate with different clean musks. It is quite intense and heavy, musk heavy formulation. Galaxolide, Ambrettolide, Tonalide (vanilla musk) blended with Isobutyl Quinoline (leather), Vanillin and lots of Coumarin. This is how I imagine the base created in this. Of course, the right amount of naturals is also indispensable. Tonalide is a musk which owns different facet regarding smell, it owns vanillic aspects, in higher concentrations it could smell sharp and clean, reminding clean washing. I believe, it could work here together with leather raw materials and Coumarin giving this sharp, slightly 'rubber like' facet in this. I like this thing about this perfume. The base works here with Hedione and this herbaceous really beautiful fresh top accord. Linalool compound, Evernyl in the middle with chypre raw materials and alfa- beta-Ionones. These Ionones, that I have mentioned, in construction with Vanillin give this Iris nuance noticeable in the middle. Oh, and I forgot about Heliotropin, which is insanely expensive raw material to work with and it is present here as well. Heliotropin gives this milky, almondy feel. I have no idea, how the perfumer blended all these things together, but He/She is really clever and has done it masterfully. I am really curious about the concept and the steps of construction of this. I will never know ;(

FF by TF is one of their bests in my opinion. I respect the artistry behind it, but the price is horrible. I still think this is way overpriced. High level of perfumery, but this is not Xerjoff using Iris butter or natural Oud absolutes. This stupid marketing is making people stop using brains too.
I love it, but 30 ML for 200$? I don't understand it. They should make a right quality-price ratio in Tom Ford brand.

FragranceGOD1990

I understand all types of fragrances but Tom ford is very unique I purchased ombré leather an just like most of his fragrances you have to have a understanding of fragrances if your not experienced you would be just like any other teenager “oh it stinks” glad I’m finally connected to people who are connoisseurs like myself

Selinana

Uau! This should be something if for some people smells like Disney Pink Princess and for others smells like Sex Rammstein!!!

scenturian

Some says only Fabulous but I say it is 2x Fuc.ing Fabulous :)
Sure not for everyone. It is the scent from hell.

SmeIIy-C@t

I love TF fragrances. I wanted to love this one soooo much. It’s just a little bit of a disappointment. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a decent scent….it just isn’t Fucking Fabulous. I find that it does smell too much like high end baby wipes. I thought reviewers might be exaggerating for effect. They weren’t. It does get better as time passes. Unfortunately, the best it ever gets is Fucking Mediocre.

wavygod

Completely unbiased review here. FF is a nice scent though I have some issues. First being the name & how it doesn’t match the scent. Labeling a fragrance as “Fucking Fabulous” is hard to capture. It’d have to sweep you off your feet for it to deserve such a label. Unfortunately it doesn’t making it misleading. Despite what beauty outlets describe this fragrance as it isn’t “Fucking” fabulous but rather Fabulous. This smells like high end, refined baby powder w/ creamy notes. I barely pick up any leather or “nutiness” rather just lavender clary sage & vanilla. Projection is meh & longevity about 4-5 hrs. This is definitely a night out fragrance for the colder months or days. Despite everything I’d still want this fragrance for my collection. Overall it gets a 6/10

Hakim Parfums

This is one of my favorite fragrances. I've never smelled something like this yet.
My only problem with this fragrance is its price: 180 € for 30 mL is insanely overpriced.

However, the scent profile is amazing: the bitter almond/tonka/leather is so fabulous.
I also have the body spray which I would sometimes spray on my leather jacket as I think it's the best thing you can wear with this fragrance.

mrssugarrush

This smells like a guy who finished mowing his lawn and didn't have any time to shower, so he wiped the grass stains off with baby wipes and put on a ton of deodorant.
Before leaving to meet with his buddies at a bar, he takes a second to admire his freshly cut lawn and whispers to himself: "Fucking fabulous".

Divesforshelles

It’s the “love it” camp for me. Clean and herbal at first (which I find refreshing) then rounded out with leathery and butter almond, then a really lovely dry down thanks to orris. Truly doesn’t smell masculine or feminine, it just smells good. This one is a compliment getter. Unless you think it smells like burnt tires or baby wipes.

SophiaViolette

This will be a timeless Tom Ford’s classic or a discontinued archive. I wonder how it’s going to be perceived in 20, 40, 50 years. They tried an “avant-grade” name and a scent we never really smelled before. “Make it hype”. The bottle is mat black, oh, intriguing?!
The opening is a contrast : It’s clean and fresh, initially. But you get a hint there are notes in the back awaiting to open soon. A blend of orris, almond, leather, woody aromas and maybe black liquorice (although not listed as a note).

It’s fresh yet deep yet a little bit gourmand. It’s special, maybe provocative.
I gave it so many tries on and off around fall or winter when I was in the mood for it, enjoyed wearing it for a little, but it’s just not for me.
Also, IMO it’s unisex/masculine.

Yes it’s pricey, and it feels to me as If only a group of cliquey people wear it by now. When FF came out, it reminded me of the release of the latest designer handbag : every influencer, blogger, model, or popular guy in town buys it. Which was the case in LA/NYC/Miami/London clubs where FF is mostly associated to club promoters. Which means, some of the originality of the perfume has gone, at least for me.

But please, only wear it for yourself and if you like it!

TrudeausBeard

A fantastic scent for any occasion. Office friendly, my signature scent. I struggle to describe the smell, there’s lavender for sure and the vanilla/leather are there but subtle. There’s a powdery quality and a hint of sweet note a little like raspberry. Could be Orris I suppose just not sure what that smells like!
Longevity is my only complaint, like most TF you get half a day, on clothes it’ll stick around faintly all day.
I don’t get baby wipes or burnt anything, first impressions for me were quite floral. I think the varied descriptions are a testament to the complexity on show here.

Kaoliin

Interesting to see how many who hates this perfume! I am normally not a fan of Tom Fords perfumes, and this is the only one I actually wanted to try on. I sprayed it on my arm, and absolutely loved it! I can imagine this will smell very different on different people, cus I didn’t get any lavender, but a lot of licorice in the middle/base notes. Reminded me a bit of Diesels Loverdose which I also loved. Way overpriced though, as the longevity is short to moderate.

VanillaGuitarGuy

This is the most overpriced scent I’ve ever smelled. $500 for 100 ml is absurd. Nevertheless this scent is absolutely heavenly. The name doesn’t match the fragrance as I think this fragrance should be called just fabulous. If it wasn’t so overpriced, this would’ve been one of my favorite scents of all time.

Kiwigoddess

For a fleeting moment I could see how this could be fabulous, but that soon faded and I became increasingly more underwhelmed. One thing I will say is that this fragrance is definitely unisex and doesn't lean more to any one side. Not being a fan of lavender, I got that slightly medicinal aroma from it which can often be headache inducing for me. It then got quite smoky on me with a hint of sweetness which I presume was from the vanilla as well as a little bit powdery. The remainder of the drydown time was what I think was the leather accord with a little bit of sweetness and still a little bit of powderyness. Overall it wasn't bad per se, but not my type. Not a safe blind buy.

Swolecido

There's a strong scent of bitter almond mixed with burnt leather and babywipes in the opening. Which turns out to be quite the strange combination. In the dry down it smells like a clone of Jean Paul Gaultiers' Le Male. The dry down is nice, but you can get fragrances for less than half the price that smell very similar if not better than this one minus the weird opening.

Enrium

I remember spraying this at a department store when it was first released. Its deliberately provocative name certainly does as intended, i.e. capturing attention and provoking spirited conversation. I remember finding it unpleasant, even repulsive - a vulgar leather scent as divisive as its now infamous name. I haven't tried it since - until today. As it turns out, my initial response holds up. FF is a discordant scent centred on a leather base. My instinctive reaction is one of dislike, but given its unusual composition, I'm keen to contemplate it.

FF opens with a blast of lavender, more air freshener than essential oil. The leather note emerges early, following the lavender, and together they form an accord so discordant and strong that I find it quite unpleasant. The leather is like burnt tyres, but instead of a cool, edgy Bvlgari Black creation, here it just doesn't work. Bitter almond follows - so very bitter - adding a spicy gourmand twist that feels forced. Dry woody notes emerge, alongside a powderiness that must come from the orris.

It remains leathery throughout, becoming musky as it dries down. It never becomes animalic though - the amber-leather accord instead feels plastic-y and synthetic. Coumarin rather than tonka emerges as it fades, with a whisper of powdery vanilla adding sweetness at the tail end. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting.

Perfectly unisex, this odd scent is chemical-smelling overall, reminiscent of baby wipes, with a medicinal, somewhat camphorous quality despite its rubbery leather/almond/lavender concoction. Definitely polarising. Not for me, but bonus points for being different. 2/5.

nosekiss

I get a lot of strong prominent clarity sage and lavender. It's sophisticated and posh yet there's this underlying messy old grandpa aesthetic to it… like moth balls or something soapy, maybe it’s the combo. I'd imagine Lorde smells like this in her Pure Heroine arc.

activeharley

The similarity between this and Mancera Fig Ecstasy is undeniable… but no fig in the note break down…

Corban Lucas

This smells like scented baby wipes...hard pass.

Bergamet

I am deeply confused by this fragrance. On paper I actually quite liked it so I made the mistake of testing it on skin. There are very few fragrances in memory that have invoked such deep and visceral repulsion, eliciting an immediate response to scrub the absolute heck out of my wrist, removing the top layer of skin almost entirely.

Vile, revolting, evil satanic devil juice. Hate isn't a strong enough word for how much I dislike this godawful hell-fume.
