I have multiple Aventus clones, and this is one of Creed Aventus's closest clone! It's very close to the real thing scent wise but unfortunately the longevity is not optimal especially the projection! I think it performs even worse than creed Aventus. It would have been the perfect clone if performance was better.

Drydown reminds me of Davidoff Cool Water Game, I think, because I haven't felt that one for a long long time. It is nice, sexy drydown and I still feel it after 10 hours.

Ricky_ads

Great smelling fragrance, inspired from Creed Aventus. Lasts 5 to 6 hours, projects ok not bad,and price is good too.

Brancosaur

It’s a shame the poor performance it has, but man, it smells so good. Citric, fresh, musky fragrance who takes me to another place… For a few minutes.

Sometimes, perfection is volatile, just like Zara Vibrant Leather.

FranVV

Aroma que me encanta, muy masculina, cítrica, fresca, incluso en mí me provoca algo de adicción, cada vez me gusta más, flaquea en la duración pero aún así repetiré. La recomiendo.

BLKHWK

I've had 5 or 6 Aventis Clones, Dupes or "inspired by" and Aventis. This is the best scent by far, better than the original, however, it can only be enjoyed for about 10 seconds after spraying. NO Projection. No Longevity. Fun but costly experiment.

Mk2021

Decent Aventus-like fragrance for a low price that unfortunately lasts a little longer on skin than regular tap-water.

SimplDude

To my nose, this is one of Creed Aventus's closest clone especially the opening. The downside is the longevity. It will only last less than two hours but if you spray this on clothes, you can smell it till the next day. This is a perfect dumb reach fragrance to keep in your glove compartment if you're running errands or simply picking up some coffee and doughnuts in the convenient store. Not bad. I'll give it a 6.5/10

I've bought the 'Zara Vibrant Leather' sampler before splashing out on full-size bottles.
Although Zara fragrances are cheap and you might be tempted to 'blind buy', be aware of these serious caveats.

The opening: quite attractive, inoffensive, non abrassive fresh citrus blast and I agree this smells more like pineapple than bergamot and citrus to me... there's a hint of sweetness in the opening which reminds me more of pineapple... so far I get the comparison with Creed Aventus.
The mid: here comes the bad news, the freshness almost immediately disappears upon spraying: I can hardly pick up on leather or bamboo or the concentration is so weak it's gone before you know it.
The base: smooth creamy musk-like patchouli... quite nice but I don't pick up any smokiness whatsoever, so I really don't get the comparison to Creed Aventus, except for the opening. What's left is mostly a soapy skin scent.

Compared to the Eau de toilettes of Zara, this Eau de Parfum is 'smoother' and maybe there's a touch more concentration but certainly don't expect anything in the ballpark of other designers. Longevity and projection are weak, to say the least, unless you would douse yourself in this stuff, reapplying every hour or so.

All in all, a nice scent but far from original or essential, and its major drawback the weak concentration.
Frustrating: I'd rather have Zara bumped up the price by a couple of dollars if they gave me a slightly better concentration than owning a fragrance that demands you to smell your own skin after one hour to make sure there still something left.

intlV

I don't get the Aventus comparisons, but this is quite nice. I only paid $12 for my bottle and it's well worth it. On my skin it has a leather opening, citrus base, which is the opposite of how they say the notes are ordered. Longevity is lacking but that's standard for Zara.

bearinganhourglass

It is nice weak green fragrance. No bamboo, no leather, just lightly green and citrus, gone within couple hours. 0 projection, 0 longevity

Willbno

I’m a fan of Leather scents. I just purchased Vibrant Leather and Vibrant Leather Oud. VL which is a tad sweeter due to the lemon and bergamot. VL also adds in bamboo which gives this woody vibe. The citrus remains present but the leather scent isn’t as present as one would think. The patchouli has a bigger presence than the leather.

I picked this up as a two pack and as a blind buy. This isn’t a fragrance that you will regret if you buy blind. This is however a weak performer. There are other leather fragrances that have better projection and longevity. Two for $30 isn’t a bad deal. You can show your masculine side with this leather based fragrance.

I own a decant of Aventus but I wasn’t impressed. I also own CDNI as well but I lean more to this smelling similar to a stripped down Montblanc Explorer.

BoozyBrunch88

This one was a frag of its own when it first was released but then it was reformulated into a newer fresher take and it lost its quality that the original version had - i still have around 100ml (2 bottles) of this left and use it every now and then.

this one was on and off the shelves in ZARA for ages and then they stopped making it - very niche quality to it.

the newer 120ml version had suffered major changes to it

Mosruio

Very similar to Creed Aventus. I was actually surprised there is no pineapple in it, since it smells like pineapple. Vibrant leather is inoffensive and discreet, but smells so good. I cannot detect any leather Performance is not so good, but it's very inexpensive to constantly reapply. Perfect for casual use.

Dkang

Mature, elegant, and manly. No K-Pop male stars can pull this off, coz they all wear Prada Candy or Viva Juicy Couture.

Piece of Heaven (Jerome Epinette, 2016)

At the first sniff one can sense that Vibrant Leather has its role model in Creed’s Aventus. However, I do not consider this Zara is another Aventus clone. Vibrant Leather has its own story, based on the Creed’s star fragrance. Vibrant Leather starts with strong lemon and bergamot. The introduction is very nice, soft and natural. My girlfriend without knowing the Aventus structure, recognizes the pineapple note on my skin. Indeed, this fragrance possesses some cheesy pineapple aspect, but I am not sure that the combination of citruses and bamboo could result in such an accord. Funny, but Leather is not pronounced in Vibrant Leather. The leather accord is very soft, remind me of suede. To my nose patchouli could be responsible for this leather mirage. Again, my girlfriend after hour or two Vibrant Leather finds it very earthy, and very likable.
Now the best part... I consider Vibrant Leather lacking in performance, but my work colleagues and people around complimenting me 6-10 hours after application. They describe the whiffs of very attractive scent. I believe this scent triggers the olfactory fatigue on the wearer.
If you are Creed Aventus or Mancera Cedrat Boise fan and want a cheaper alternative with all best attractive parts of both fragrances Vibrant Leather is a good choice. Of course, Zara is not that potent, layers are not distinctive, and the whole creation is somehow blurred, but you will get a solid scent with huge compliment potential. Zara did a pretty good job for a good price. Now anyone could afford a piece of their heaven.

Had the first formulation when I read it's smells like Aventus. Yes, it does however the performance is poor even applying it liberally. I get about 2 hours out of it then struggle to find the scent afterwards. Good summer casual, office fragrance for the price. When I finished the bottle I didn't feel the urge to repeat buy.

rdevaris

Anyone know where i can find this cologne. I woud love to add this to my collection.

iimuru

I think the note pyramid is precise for this perfume. You literally can smell all of them with the vibe of CDNI/Aventus. That being said it does smell similar to CDNI. Since I haven't tried Aventus yet, I can't comment on similarities between the two.
Vibrant Leather is definitely an enlightener with a smooth concoction of bamboo and leather (great balance). Unfortunately on my skin it doesn't project too well. After 30 minutes it becomes a skin scent and it lasts for about 3-4hrs until it's completely gone. But I still enjoy spraying VL very very much because it's subtle/inoffensive and pretty unique if we exclude Aventus and its family tree and affordable 120ml for 39.99 CAD or 12ml for 7.90CAD. I highly recommend you all to try it out for yourself. Just grab a sample size and it will last you for a few months. Carry it around and respray whenever you feel like you need to. I am yet to meet a person who was disturbed by the scent or disliked it.

Forever Neil

Best Aventus clone (in terms of opening): Zara Vibrant Leather (I think 1 ounce) sells for $5.90 at Zara. closer than Insurrection Pure II, CDNIM, and Brasilia to the real deal, but projection is weak. I just smelled ZVL for the first time today. The issue though is you wear Aventus for compliments, and Vibrant Leather is such a weak projector that it won't get you compliments. The least cloying of the 3 I mentioned earlier. Smooth as butter.

GoldIris

This is yet the best version of Vibrant Leather, smells amazing compared to the other formulations.

jamiejohnmorris

Smells great to me, fruity berry top with woody and smokey notes but whats heart breaking is it lasts 30 mins on my skin. It may perform better for others but not for me, gutted because it smells so good.

After reading all of the reviews here before buying this bottle, I feel that it’s my responsibility to give everyone a straight and honest review. I’ve never owned Aventus, but I did buy Armaf CLub De Nuit Intense about 2 months ago and was completely blown away. Being a huge fan of the Aventus smell I wanted another version and to experiment I bought Insurrection Pure, and although it smelled great, the longevity was piss poor
(2 hours max). I’m telling you all of this for some context as to what I’m going to say next. My expectations for this scent weren’t very high, the reviews in here were up and down, and I felt that a lot of people were overselling this scent. Anyway, I sprayed this on myself last light around 6pm and it’s now 10am and I’m still smelling it faintly on my skin, it’s barely there, but it’s there. On my clothes Is incredibly strong. It’s not exactly the same as Armaf’s CDNI, and does smell a little different, but if I had to be honest this scent is incredible. I mostly get the lemon, patchouli, and leather. It has the smokiness, but in a different kind of way. If I had to rate this bottle it’s just slightly below Armaf’s CDNI but highly above Insurrection Pure. I also purchased Zara’s Night 3, and the Tobacco scent (Rich, Warm, and Addictive). It was an impulse buy as I seen different positive reviews on them as well. I’m willing to part ways with them if anyone has anything that I’d be interested in. They are sealed in the box. DM me.

After watching some videos about "the Zara perfumes to own", I visited a Zara store and tried a few on several pieces of paper; then I came back to the office.

I didn't really remember which paper had which perfume, but the smell of one of them was amazing after 10 minutes of application. So, I watched the videos again, and learned about this "famous" Aventus clone. I went back to the store, and confirmed that the perfume that had impressed me was in fact Vibrant Leather.

I haven't smelled Aventus and I would never buy such an expensive perfume. So my opinion is just about the Zara itself, and not about how it compares to Aventus.

Vibrant Leather starts with an explosion of citrus. It's really all you can smell for the first few minutes. Lots and lots of citrus, quite pungent (I don't particularly like these head notes, although they are not unpleasant if you don't over spray).

But then, after 5 or 10 minutes, the composition settles into a very dry, masculine fragrance. It's a light leather, blended with some wood and just a touch of fresh, fruity citrus. It's very understated, it doesn't shout, but it projects at a conversation distance for the first couple of hours. To me, the fragrance projects an image of a reserved and confident man. It's really special and quite different from almost every other fragrance I've smelled or owned. The leather is not strong as in 80s fragrances, but it's present and dominant, and very, very dry.

I understand why some reviewers complain about poor longevity and projection. I also had the same impression, but I think this is due to olfactory adaptation. The first day I applied Vibrant Leather, I was able to smell it for 4 to 6 hours, coming from my wrist.

The next day, after applying, all I could discern were the citrus head notes, which are so potent that they mask the leather and wood to some point. So, for the next month, every time I used Vibran Leather, it was just a citrus perfume that lasted for 10 or 20 minutes top. After that, it was gone.

So I performed the following exercise: I sprayed a piece of paper and left the room holding my breath, so I wouldn't smell the opening pungent notes. After 15 minutes, I returned to the room, and it was full of that beautiful dry aroma I loved. And the paper still had aroma after a few hours, although projection was good for only 1 or 2 hours. After that, it still projects, but less (maybe 50 cm or so).

This fragrance is ridiculously cheap, performs decently and it smells as refined as any designer fragrance costing thrice as much.

I own the EDP and purchased it on 2018. The bottle is different from the one showed here.

Zara Vibrant Leather:
Not just a clone of Creed Aventus. A special and an affordable summer fragrance that can brings you tons of compliments. The only negative is the bad longevity.

This is very nice and similar to aventus but more like frapin orchid man as the patchouli is dominant as it is with orchid man, as far as I know there is no pineapple in this but smells like pineapple. it comes off pretty musky on my skin but for the price this one is a winner!! 8/10

Monstersnowman

This is NOT the same juice as Night IV .. This is not a clone of Aventus but has similarities. If you are tempted by Ralph Lauren Purple Label ... DON'T buy Purple Label in my opinion. This is so very very similar and RLPL is not a big puncher as this is also not. It is a lovely male frag because of the fresh woodiness and is not a Bleecker Street clone as it has not got the fruitiness of BS or the longevity. Buy it for what it is and not what it might be similar to .. It is a lovely frag in a nice bottle at an amazing price.

Fraggie2100

The New Vibrant Leather packaging 2018 made with 120 ml
is Aventus take in an EDT version or L'Eau, its not as long lasting but very close in mid to dry down but toned down.

rhr

Reading the ingredients/allergens list, it is noticeable that there is more perfume oil than water, which is the first hint as to what one is getting.

When spraying it on the wrist, the juice is noticeably thicker than an EDT.

And then it starts projecting. I got about 5 hours of arm's length, probably more since I went to sleep after that. In the middle of the night it was still noticeable, and after 15 hours, it is still there as a skin scent.

What one could liken it to is a fruit basket with some sparkling water on the side. It turns into a fairly straight ambroxan coupled with patchouli and vetiver, which provide the dirt.

I believe those who got severely lacking performance out of this were partially anosmic due to inhaling so much ambroxan from another scent or their clothes, or they are just anosmic to it. Ambroxan is tricky and powerful.

In all honesty, the drydown is very reminiscent of Sauvage. I would even go so far and say this is Sauvage with fruit instead of metal. It's the same genre, same composition, just using different, more vibrant colors.

jmoranireland

Have had this fragrance for a week now, to my nose this is the best clone of Aventus i have come across ( i also have CDNI, L'Aventure, Pineapple Vintage Noir, Perfumers Choice No 9 Victor and of course Aventus itself).

Vibrant Leather (2018 EDP version) is like a lighter version of Aventus, its beautifully blended by Jérôme Epinette, senior perfumer at Robertet - it does'nt have quite the longevity of Aventus but its really excellent considering the price. T

JonesyBrum

Ok everyone let's get this straight ... the reason the 'new' 2018 version smells 'similar' to the 2016 version AND Zara Night Pour Homme IV is that it's the same juice in a different bottle .. simple as ! I have owned all 3 versions & folk who try to convince themselves that this is a 're-formulated' or 'fresher' version are simply kidding themselves !

I mean come on, do you seriously think that Zara (who have clearly seen a lucrative market for their cheap CA clone) are going to go to the trouble & expense of messing about with re-formulations in the lab when they can simply morph the same juice into a different bottle / name every few months .. coughs !

Is it a good cheap alternative to CA, absolutely if you take into consideration that it performs averagely .. but on the up side it's cheap, so you can spritz & spray away to your heart's content ... and then wait for another new style bottle in another six months !

If you do want a 'Fraiche' version of this why not try Zara's 'Rich Leather' which actually does smell like a sport version of this AND has been continually available since it's introduction in 2017.

Personally I still think CDNI is still the best AV clone & out performs all of the Zara versions ... and maybe even some of the actual CA re-formulations too !

Atlantiswasreal

I have both the 2016 and 2018 bottles of this and they both smell pretty similar. So i'm going to assume it's the same exact juice. Compared to CDNI, this stuff smells better. It doesn't smell as synthetic or harsh as CDNI.

Someone refered to this as Aventus L'eau. That's a good term. Aventus Sport or Aventus Eau Fraiche would work too. It's so fresh and so light, you can spray as much of this stuff as you like and probably not offend anyone. Gorgeous scent for a bright, warm summer day.

doktorvf

Strange experiences... from 1 hour to 6 hrs longevity? Mine is extremely short, about 1 hour. Layered with Rich Leather could be OK.
Very fun & elegant mix, mainly because of the beautiful citruses - but my glass is full of EDT, not more.
I wonder how can I get the 6 hrs version???? :)

Terente

I have some Zaras and I'm happy with them. Bought today Zara Vibrant Leather 120 ml EDP, magnetic cap, nice bottle...
BAD performances!!! Worse Zara I have for now. Bought also Zara Uomo (dupe of PR 1 million). Much better.
Vibrant Leather disappear after one hour. In comparison, Gourmand Leather is a real MONSTER (see my review). Save your money and try another Zara.

Tyriel

Smells like a soft, fruity Aventus batch. The reason that is so close to Aventus is also the reason why Zara's stock is always sold out after one day.

Projection-wise:

1. Armaf LCDNI: 10 (Clubbing/outdoor)
2. Creed Aventus: 8 (Dates/office)
3. Zara VL: 7 (Very close encounters/cuddling)

Zara VL:
Scent: 8.5/10 (If Aventus is 10)
Projection: 6/10
Sillage: 6/10
Longevity: 6/10
Versatility 9/10
Uniqueness: 5/10
Price-performance: 9/10 (Can be "oversprayed", because for €20/120ml it is very cheap. With 7-8 sprays it performs quite well)

Total: 8 (Bonus points for the presentation. The minimalistic new EDP bottle is simply stunning).

Deetron

Today I tested the new version of Vibrant Leather 120ml EDP - very good and classy, masculine scent, but the main upgrade is the excellent longevity! Very good edition by Zara!

Zara Rio de Janeiro its like the other Zara fragrances, came out in 2016 and Zara discontinued the fragrance and now zara put on a new bottle ... But i dont have this fragrance from Zara i Have Orange Zest,Tobacco collection,Black Tag Intense,VL EDT,EDP and Night Iv,Av Colégio Militar(great Acqua di gio clone).

lucabbdoernbach

Thank you. A little Unrelated: When I got my Bottle of VL today i stumbled upon a fragrance called Rio de Janeiro that I tried and really liked! Is it brand new since its not in fragranticas database yet?

Fipo010812

The only difference i detect between Vibrant Leather EDP and Night IV are that Night IV its more dirty/earth and VL EDP more citrus, but they are 99% equal.
And a zara worker said to me that VL 120ml EDP its a Limited edition,so guys don´t worry you have the Rich Leather that its very similar to Aventus and to VL , its not the same thing but its similar and Zara sells Rich Leather all year.
People will buy like crazy back up bottles of VL , i only bought one bottle, when that finished i will buy Rich Leather or another VL if Zara sell it again(They make every year).

lucabbdoernbach

I have the same question as JanneMan: I own Night Pour Homme IV, is this any different? Can somebody who owns both comment? Want to know if i should order.

JanneMan45

The original Vibrant Leather was an EDT.
The Night Pour Homme IV was an EDP and supposed to be a parfum version of VL.

Is this new Vibrant Leather the same as the Night Pour Homme IV (Just antoher bottle and size)?

mercutzzio

Yes!!! It s back on stock as EDP 120 ml bottle. I love it! Also has a new design bottle with magnetic cap.

leogusso

Just another boring attempt to clone Creed Aventus. Surely it is one of the best Zara perfumes, compared to others that I find sometimes nauseating. For what it costs (€19.90 the 120ml) is definitely a good buy. Obviously don't expect Aventus: it is just a cheap, watered down and chemical version of it. After about half an hour it smells more similar to Aventus, but after 3 hours it almost disappears from the skin. If you are looking for a valid Aventus clone, the only true Creed Aventus clone worthy of being called like that is Armaf "Club de Nuit Intense".

Fraggie2100

relaunched ??

need to buy fast, I love collecting zara as they keep changing it so it becomes very limited eidtions.

I already have Vibrant Leather EDT, Night IV and will add this new EDP

Fipo010812

Back in the zara stores, I bought a bottle today.
The scent is like Vibrant Leather EDT and Night IV EDP.
120ml EDP 19.95 €, I think zara's marketing department sees that people love Vibrant Leather and sell very fast and zara charge more.
Night IV 100ml EDP was 12.95 € and has the same smell.
I only bought one bottle, Zara launches this perfume every year, but if you want this fragrance you must buy fast because sold out quickly.
I like the magnetic cap very fancy kkk.

José Pedro Moreau

... back on the catalogue ! ...

trevorstilerocks

This is what I called "The one that got away" perfume. I should've bought it when I had the chance. I loved it at the first sniff but knowing it's Zara, I thought that this will one of their standard scents that will stay in shelves. I said I'll wait until the next Zara sale comes in but it went out of shelves quickly prior to the sale. I know there's Zara Homme Night IV but it never came in all 5 Zara stores that I constantly visit on rotation. I hope this year Zara would bring back this gem or Zara Homme Night IV.

everil.f

There's virtually no difference between this a The Orchid Man by Frapin. There's a half percent difference in the opening with Orchid Man having the slightest pepper note, but it's barely distinguishable.

JonesyBrum

As the previous reviewer has stated, Zara seem to have re-vamped this fragrance as 'Night Pour Homme IV' as of December 2017. Why do I say this ? .. Well lets look at the notes for each VL: Bergamot-Lemon/Bamboo/Leather/Patchouli .. and now for the 'new' Night Pour Homme IV: Bergamot-Lemon/Leather/Bamboo/Patchouli .. You do the maths! Do they smell the same .. you bet they do! So now you can stop searching & bidding & paying £50+ for VL on a well known bidding site & trot along to your local Zara store & purchase this for £12.99 instead ... Happy days! :o)

Fipo010812

I buy the new Zara Night IV pour Homme and smell like Vibrant Leather, Zara only change the box and bottle.
EDP 100ml 12.95€ .

Zara Pour Homme IV.

Fraggie2100

yes, this is discontinued. there is zara rich leather now.

Sarwari

I have both Creed Aventus and Zara Vibrant Leather, and they are very very similar. If you don't want to spend hundreds on Aventus, this is the next best thing. It has pretty solid projection and longevity too, a great fragrance from Zara.

Konga5000

114 people said this smells like a CREED. I'm pretty sure only 15 of them ever smelled a CREED. Really pathetic.

Zara sucks.

rybrew

Nice frag. I have a full bottle I’m willing to trade for something interesting. If someone is up for it, let me know.

James Ashton

Dear friends,

I am very new to this. Just a normal guy who likes scents!

I absolutely love Vibrant Leather and I know it is discontinued.

I have read every comment and am fascinated by your knowledge, I had no idea of the science and skills involved!

So my humble question to you is, please can you recommend an alternative to Vibrant Leather? I know many of you say Aventus - but honestly, I cannot afford that.

Your suggestions will be gratefuly received,

James

Freedomlover

People people let's all calm down and relax. We are all fragrance lovers that's why we're on Fragrantica. Misunderstanding happens but let's all treat each other with respect and friendship.

Romain shk

No Freedom lover, i was talking about Seattle Dweller

Freedomlover

@romainshk why would i misguide anyone regarding this fragrance i live in Leeds England i bought 8 bottles in the the leeds Zara store they were selling them for £4.99 they are clearing them out, as to weather they've got any left in store go have a luck. The original price in England was only £20 for 100ml. This was never a high priced fragrance even at full price.

I don't understand your suggestion about misguiding people.

And yep I'm using one as a room freshner and to spray on my bedsheets.

Fraggie2100

Its totally gone from my nearest zara, now I'll have to go hunting from other branches and see if they have a few more left.

Romain shk

@ freedom lover which pvt store is selling VL in UK tell me wanna buy now!

Romain shk

it was never ever 4 to 5 $ in US, Zara perfumes are only sold in zara oulets and i even bought my first Vibrant Leather from LA last year for 29.99$ s0 pls, on top its discontinued for last 3 months..Why so many ppl misguide every one here from ratings, performance to price etc...damn

Wolf13

It's very terrible in base after 1-2 hours, it smells like caoutchouc.

Freedomlover

@fraggie you better be quick my friend vibrant leather is in the shelves with a huge £4.99 sale sticker on them.
Ps

Try Imperious by pocket scents if your in the UK I'm sure you'll enjoy it if you like the aventus vibe. You'll be impressed.

Fraggie2100

@Freedomlover

They are promoting rich leather released in 2017, well it has more pineapple but still not that much different, rich leather is only good for layering other fragrances.

Vibrant leather was better, I'll have to get the back ups now in Zara!

Freedomlover

Believe it or not they were selling this off at a store near me for £4.99 i bought 8 bottles to give as presents to my young nephews. It was a complete bargain. Didn't realise they're not making it anymore.

I'm using 1 bottle to spray my bedsheets and room as it's a nice smell, and was only a fiver.

I think they're promoting the other bottles with the weird fayx leather around the bottles.

Fraggie2100

I have one that's not opened yet, I guess I'll have to go to zara stores now and stock this up if its discontinued.

spoombung

This stuff smells great but it's true it doesen't last long or project a lot but I layer it with Dunhill icon and I become the greatest smelling guy in town. That's my story Thank you.

Romain shk

i have found a stock of VL bottles pin packed and any one interested in EU can contact me i can spare few bottles.

Now to a genius here ,some ppl who have a lot of time like to attack with nominating names to gain/seek attention by correcting english, picking up words between lines , grammar mistakes, spell check etc on a perfume site :) however i wont do the same as i have better things to do rather then getting serious here with an old snob who is free as hell to find ppl for debate and i am to busy, now keep on writing...
good luck!

P.S i get l venture for 25 euros !

Is VL aware that RL wants to kill him?
I thought RL was the movie good guy and after all he is the dirty bandit that shoots VL right between the eyes. What a soap opera drama....

I will get serious now...
Someone explain this guy (Romain sht) about what you can achieve by layering two different fragrances. I called it a "POTION" just for fun. As you must understand Mr Romain I am not a PHD Wizard ( I am a PHD Chemical Engineer) and I do not make potions. It seems that Mr Romain felt offended with the non scientific words I used. The words I should have used are "TO LAYER" or "LAYERING". Mr Romain, you may keep the words "CRAP" and "BULLSHIT" for your personal use.

Common example of layering: The lower fragrance (first one to be applied) is usually plain patchouli or plain musk or plain amber, as this notes are the most common Base Notes. By doing that you are able to extend the dry down of the upper fragrance. On the other hand, when you layer complex fragrances instead of a single note lower fragrance, you may (sometimes) add some top notes from the upper fragrance to the lower fragrance.

In the "POTION" example, two complex fragrances were layered (which is a bit unusual). I was very explicit: first you apply VB and after you apply RL. I will mention now that it works better if you delay the two couple of sprays by 5 minutes or if you apply it on clothes. As the base notes are complementary, can be shared by both fragrances you get a bigger longevity (and yes, you applied 4 or 5 sprays after all). You end up also adding the pineapple top note of Rich Leather to Vibrant Leather (Pineapple is inexistant in Vibrant Leather).
So... no fragrance "kills" the other and you get a final result closer to Aventus. And you do it with two inexpensive Zara fragrances.

Of course if you layer two complex fragrances like Acqua de Gio with Dana Tabu you end up with a stinking mess. What I call "The Potion" is one of the few examples where, when layering two complex fragrances, you end up with a better result.

(EDIT 1): Mr. Romain, it's interesting that after labeling my "Potion" suggestion so eloquently as "bullshit and crap" you end up making the same suggestion with Al Haramain L'Aventure (by the way, learn how to write it correctly) layered on top of Vibrant Leather.
The same principle applies but you end up with a worst result with those two fragrances. The main motifs are:
- L'Aventure is 4 times more expensive than Rich Leather.
- You do not have the pineapple top note in L'Aventure, so you get a "lesser" Aventus result with your "not crappy/not bullshitting" layering.
I also have L'Aventure from Al Haramain. I tried to buy L'Venture by Al-Heramain, but could not find it anywhere.
I also tried the layering of VL (lower frag) and LA (upper frag).
I also tried the layering of LA (lower frag) and VL (upper frag).
The most satisfactory result was really layering VL (lower frag) and RL (upper frag).

(EDIT 2) For a result better than your layering and my potion, just buy and use either Aventus Creed (that is 100% similar to Creed from Aventus) or Club de Nuit Intense pour Homme by Armaf.
By the way... Club de Nuit Intense is better and cheaper than L'Aventure and it comes with the top pineapple note, a smokier dry down and better longevity.

(EDIT 3) I really like a lot more Mugler's PURE HAVANE than Creed Aventus, or any perfume from Zara, or Club de Nuit Intense for men or L'Aventure. Feel free to insult also my signature scent.

Again... Enjoy (Aventus) and Save (with Zara)!... and don't step on Mr Romain crap and bullshit.

Romain shk

Absolutely stunning, a fresh version of Aventus, its finished in Budapest but luckily i stored 2 bottles in backup.. 4 to 5 hours good longevity with 7 to 8 sprays and girls love it, Now this potion story on this page is utter bullshit/nonsense as rich leather never lasts and it kills/eat this one,.. With my personal experience get L'Venture by Al-Heramain and layer it with VL (4#4 sprays), thats an intense version of fresh Aventus with 8 t0 10hours performance but on clothes as LV and VL bothare better performer on clothes..

BUT this potion drama is crap as RL kills VL ..

ScentTower

Very Good but sadly not aviable in Germany anymore!!! Does anyone know if this is coming back? Running out of my bottle, have 10-12ml left... :/

jpon91

Alright - tried the 'potion' again yesterday during the evening. All I can say is, WOW. As I said before, I haven't tried Aventus, but this potion is simply amazing. As carlos stated, I do like Vibrant Leather on its own... I find it perfect for a casual but sexy summer night (imagine black t-shirt, wool slim pants, chelsea boots). The potion, I find it just sublime and a lot more for a 'special occasion' (I would use it for a 25°C~ situation).

My rating of VL... 8/10
'Potion'... 9/10

Carlitos

@jpon91 - you are quite right... I already tried the "potion" at:

- Portuguese midday summer normal temperatures of 32°C (indoor without air conditioning) - I got a great opening and first hour and a half with enormous projection, average or below average longevity (6 hours).

- Same conditions but temperature of 22°C indoor with air conditioning - I got a great opening again, above average projection for 3 hours, well above above average longevity (9 hours) with a much more pleasant dry down.

.... so I also concluded that it works better with lower temperatures :-)

It's still not Aventus, but I would say it matches it at 90%.
On the other hand it's 60% cheaper than Armaf Club De Nuit and with a fragrance closer to Aventus... and it is close to 95% cheaper than Aventus... and you can try and buy it in every Portuguese mall (very very convenient).

jpon91

I knew it! Haha, jk..

Yes! I did try the potion. I personally haven't tried Aventus as it is non-existent in mi city, though past maybe 45 minutes the smell was AMAZING. I prefer the drydown on VL than on the 'potion' though... it was probably 37°C outside so it is possible that the potion works better on milder temperatures

Carlitos

@jpon91 - Just to satisfy your curiosity, we are cousins and live in different cities in Portugal. I am a newcomer to Fragrantica, and my cousin joined one year ago. Probably we share a couple of the same tastes, we seldom shop together and we both like quality cheapies and beasty scents.

BY THE WAY, DID YOU TRY THE "POTION" ?

jpon91

Is Carlitos and carlosalbertoandradecruz de same guy? lol the aventus potion thingy and they have exactly the same taste in perfumes (judging from wardrobe) lol...

still will try the 'potion' today

Carlitos

I read the "Aventus Potion"text with some interest.

The local Zara was proposing the two fragrances online for 25 Euros the pair, sold in a single package.
I decided to give it a try.

First Conclusion: Both Rich Leather and Vibrant Leather are very nice well made EDTs. They don't smell cheap and both bear a nice resemblance to Creed's Aventus.

Second conclusion: Mixed in the suggested way the similarity with the Aventus perfume is even greater. The end result is much better than Armaf's Club de Nuit Intense that I tried a couple of monts ago.

I do have a bottle of Aventus and it is virtually indistinguishable (to my nose). With the potion I could clearly smell pineapple and citrus opening notes, the birch middle notes, and the leather/amber scent with some smokiness in the dry down together wit some musk and oak moss.

Unbelievable - 200 ml (in 2 flasks) for 25 Euros

My rating to Vibrant Leather = 7/10
My rating to the "potion" = 9/10

Plantus

Aventus L'eau, perfect for summer, enough said.

carlosalbertoandradecruz

THE BEST AVENTUS POTION:
1 - You buy ZARA RICH LEATHER and ZARA VIBRANT LEATHER
2 - You apply 2 sprays of ZVL wherever you want
3 - You apply 2 sprays of ZRL in the same spots
4 - You get the best AVENTUS clone for a fraction of the price and less 25% longevity and sillage
5 - For AVENTUS longevity and sillage aply 3 sprays in step 2 and 3

I own the 3 fragrances. My wife cannot make any difference between the real Aventus and my Zara potion. Of course she notices a big difference when I use only ZRL or ZVL

Enjoy and save :-)

PS - l love the Vibrant Leather fragrance independently of being similar or not to Aventus Creed

derekvford

I bought Creed Aventus a week before I discovered Vibrant Leather. Purchasing the 75 ml, I was worried that sooner or later I would run out of my Creed Aventus. After smelling Vibrant Leather, I purchased two of them. I mean for $30 USD each, I would be a fool to not buy them and layer with Aventus to save some juice. It's also great to wear by itself, but the longevity is very short. But again for $30 USD at 100ml, this is a great stand in for those who can't afford Aventus, or can't see themselves spending Aventus money. Get two and have 200ml. #mrford

crazyoney2k

I do have this and had rich leather from zara i also own aventus have had ab spirit silver and insurrection pure 2. Does it smell like aventus?? Kind of but not an exact copy there's no ambergris note which is obvious due to price. They could have added ambroxan which they haven't. It's just like the fruity opening of aventus but it doesn't develop. There's also no pineapple they've tried to create a pineapple smell without pineapple. Rich leather has pineapple but it smells like a syrupy tinned pineapple not fresh. Personally i don't think it's the closest to aventus I'd go with insurrection pure as being the closest but again thats a fruity batch and no ambroxan-ambergris note. is it a bad smell no its not the aventus clone either. I know a lot of reviewers love this as an exact copy but it isn't. It's also got some serious performance issues I've worn it and no one knew I was wearing a fragrance until I stuck my wrist in their face plus it only lasted about 4 hours due to the price I don't really care about reapplying

sfarad

Yes, quite similar to Aventus. More freshy.
Lasts maybe, maybe, 40 mins... Then it dries out and leaves no projection.
I am not one of those experts with mumbo jumbo about what flowers or bull**** it contains.
Just a real user that has bought it and was...

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED FROM THE POOR PROJECTION AND LONGEVITY.

lovetribe

only a citrus weak parfum

Guinea54

I was quite surprised with vibrant leather. To me it does smell like aventus, but almost like a summer version or Eau Fraiche version of aventus. Its lighter, not as dense or heavy but has that aventus DNA somehow. The citruses remind me of newer versions of aventus where the fruit notes is less canned pineapple sugar and more citrus fresh.. Its definitely a nice smelling quality about it. I was quite surprised. Insurrection pure smelled synthetic and cheaper.. this smells more refined. I would say this is a good version of aventus for higher temperatures. It almost has a slight soapy feel to it or something.

scent 4.5/5
longevity 3/5
projection 3/5

streetdj

This is my second bottle and now I realize there are some differences between the batches.

Batch code: 161702
-starts with lemon
-still lemon
-finishes with lemon
-it really does not smell good. Believe me! I asked to some collegues and they told me not to wear it again.
-somehow longevity is good but it's annoying to smell lemon all day! (5/6 hours)
-my rating: 4/10

Batch Code: 161701
-starts with lemon
-lemon/bergamot and bamboo/patchouli starts to blend
-finishes with a fruity vibe with suede in very deep down.
-after 1 hour it smells very nice and I get amazing compliments both from men and women. Even my collegues did not believe that this was the same scent which they did not like before
-It's just wonderful
-longevity is max 4/5 hours. (After 2 hours you can't smell yourself but others can, don't be surprised)
-my rating: 8/10

So the secret is to go to Zara store, spray 2 different batches to your arms and wait 30 minutes. If you still smell a hard lemon thats not the correct one! (take coffee beans with you :)

About longevity story;
-take a bath
-use paraben free and moisturizing shower gels
-use jojoba oil or aloevera based moisturizing creams and just put on pulse points, wait at least 10 minutes.
-then put a very very small vaseline scent free to your back of ears. (it's up to you)

Now you are set for going out.
2 for neck area
1 to chest
1 back of neck close to hair
2 for shirt or t-shirt (should be cotton or any natural fiber) polyester etc. do not keep perfumes.

If you follow above, you get 4/5 hours longevity with Vibrant leather.

Now ask to yourself.
Does it worth?

Jason Bogie

Chaps. I sprayed this on my hand in the shop at 3 pm. Played Soccer in the singapore heat at 5 pm. Had a shower after. Woke up the next day could still smell it.
Yes, it is a skin scent after a while but it does hang around. If you want to smell great and like aventus, for a three hour spell, and not spend a fortune, this could be for you. Don't expect the full all day Projection. Maybe "aventus cologne"

adampapp

Well...
As first impression (and after reading/watching a few reviews) I felt I must buy one bottle. The scent of Aventus for so cheap price, what can be the problem. After wearing it for a whole day, I have to tell, there are problems!

The main problem is: NO DRYDOWN! The scent last as it is, the first alcoholic-synthetic accord – luckily – disappears in the first few minutes, and that’s it! For me that means, that all the creation is a synthetic liquid, not more. It is good for casual events, weekends, maybe some sport activity, or office, but using it continuously can cause headache for me.
If we measure it in the classic way, we can say, it projects well, it last long, the scent reminds of Aventus, BUT THERE IS NO DRYDOWN, the scent doesn’t develop on your skin.

So the verdict:

Scent: 7/10 (if we take Aventus for 10)
Projection: 8/10
Long lasting: 8/10
Drydown: 0/10
Quality: 2/10

dmholla07

This is a clone of non smoky batch of Creed Aventus, it also last long. Now when I say it last long I mean it last long on clothes and average on skin. The price is 29.99 (American dollar) pretty good, I brought two.

rhr

I have a blotter on my table, laying around an arm's length from me. Sprayed a couple days ago and I still get occasional whiffs from it.

Tried it out and I feel it will not add much as it would fight for use with about 4 others in my summer rotation, some very similar. It did last for a couple hours with about 3 sprays so it is not all that bad. Olfactory fatigue might have occured.

stel15

Smells nice but it lasts only an hour on my skin. 4/10

strut

Cute bergamot and lemon scent with patchuli in the base. The only leather I can smell is my skin. Nothing interesting for me.

ruhi_

I prefer smokey batches of Aventus but, i really like lemony-fresh opening of this one. It gives cheer and relaxs me for a while in this warmer seasons.

However, it lacks the performance and longevity. Maybe 2-3 hours on skin. It stands longer on clothes but it does not projects even 20cm away.

You dont need to think several times to buy this. Price is good and resembles the over-hyped Aventus.

Sprayer and cap are both scraps. It leaks huge amount of juice everytime.

Spray it go to market. Spray it go to gym. Spray it go to poolside. Dont expect miracles.

Mozart25

I personally think it smells very close to a fresher batch of Creed Aventus and is a GREAT alternative. People really complaining about the performance and I am not saying it's excellent, but personally I DO NOT get good performance from Aventus. I literally get very average performance and I am talking designer average not Niche EDP average. It does last a long time on clothes.. Anyway if you don't like the smokey birch tar batches you will like this for sure. If you are into smokey batches this is not for you.

eren.ceylan

Can I ask where is the leather in this juice? Smells OK; it's great clone version of aventus but, as for longevity&silage I can't say that similar success of this topic.

sergeMS

This is a lovely perfume. It does have similarities to Creed Aventus... but Aventus is Aventus in the end. The first few times the opening smelt kind of unpleasant, but then my nose got used to it and when it grows on you it becomes extremely pleasant. The dry down is the highlight of this perfume... the bergamont and the citrus stay in the background the entire time.
longevity is good for me.. projection is poor... didnt get noticed yet. you will get whiffs of it throughout the day and you will feel fresh and clean. Well.. it did get noticed when i layered it with two sprays of pineapple vintage noir and i got a compliment...
all in all ... pleasant scent ...affordable and it will make you smell good.

Studio8Worx

When ive heard similar to CREED Aventus...I quickly grab a bottle and bought it...Its good, its similar but sometimes it felt different if you really wear CREED. Its not bad for going to gym etc..

Bad- but it wont last to my skin..But its good to save $$$ this summer

Kvn_shang

Smells similar to Aventus. The thing with Zara clones is that they smell "the same" until you buy it,wear it for some time and then go into stores and try the "real" one. I did that with aromatic future and Dior sauvage.

I tested this in store. Starts of smelling like turpinetine, and not the nice oil painting one, more like the industrial turpinetine. pineapples dipped in turpinetine? Nah, I'm not too keen on smelling like that. Until I went to gym and after gym set went swimming. The stupid thing stuck onto me for almost 7+ hours! I'm definitely going back to buy it. Towards the end after the dry down it smells amazing. Definitely worth the money.

greg1187

Forget the name of the fragrance and the listed notes, these are there to avoid a lawsuit from Creed.

Bamboo and leather? No, this is a straight up Aventus replica and a very good one at that.

The performance is average but for £20.00 one cannot complain.

FragAddict81

This isn't a Creed Aventus clone by any means.

What I am getting is Lemon, Patchouli and a little Vanilla. The opening is very nice, then 10-20 minutes in it turns into something totally different, nothing like Aventus. Projection is terrible, stays close to the skin past the first hour. The overall composition is average, nothing to go crazy about.

Projection: 6/10
Longevity: 6/10

Compliments: None so far, but when I asked a few girls at work to smell the drydown they were not so pleased to say the least. It's just OK, better options for the price.

Trab

I never smelled Aventus or Club de Nuit Intense but I love the smell of Vibrant Leather and Rich Leather of Zara both are very similar if not identical.
My girlfriend loves them too and for less than €20 a bottle, it's a bargain - longevity is not too lang but if you spray it on your cloths the perfume lasts a bit longer

cizekon

I tried this one in Zara yesterday...Maybe it´s my untrained nose and lack of experience, but to me, this gave me almost the same feeling that I experienced with Aventus last year, when I tried it.
Of course, it´s a bit "bold", it´s not so complex and it doesn´t last 12+ (you can´t expect that for the price). But what I like about this one is that it doesn´t has the "synthetic" vibe like CDNI, it´s not super smoky and it generally works much better for me. Longevity solid 6 hours on my skin.
If this was meant to be a clone of Aventus, I think they did amazing job and I enjoy it much more then CDNI and L´Aventure. On the top of that, the price is great.

In my opinion, it would be interesting to layer it wirh CDNI. That´s what I´m gonna try next week :)

avisas

Tasted it on zara's store.
2 days longevity on my skin.
Heard for me to belive!

Gooood for the spring/summer !!!
Zara

masongap

When you initially spray this you get a blast of sweet citrus. It smell like a sweet orange, not exactly zesty but very sweet. It smells like Dior Homme Sport 2017 and Givenchy Gentlemen Only.

The dry down has lots of birch and vetiver with hints of leather in the background. The sweetness still lingers but the birch dominates most of the scent.

I don't smell pineapple in this one, and there isn't any smokiness. The silage is moderate and longevity is about 4-5 hours on my skin.

Tepatrojan

Its true, this frag is very very similar to Aventus. So, i tested it at Zara, and loved it, so i purchased it. Now, my review is as follows:
It does not last that long. The first 2 to 4 hours, excellent projection/sillage if u do about 8 sprays. Then, it becomes a nice skin scent.

However, i found out the secret to make last LONG and strong, just like AVENTUS! The key, is this. Apply a little moisturizer to skin, and follow with about 8 to 10 sprays of Molecule 01 from escentric molecules. Let that dry for about 5 minutes. Now, after 5 minutes, apply your Zara Vibrant Leather juice liberally, and get ready to fool even the Creed rep!! Seriously!! It works! I did this exact steps, and 3 hours later I was in at the mall, and the creed rep said, "i know u r wearing Aventus". Well yes ma'am, I am!!
Hahaha.
Vibrant Leather plus Molecule 01=Aventus!!
Vibrant leather =30dolls
Molecule 01= 130 dolls.
Totale, 160 bucks!!

bart4543

My first Zara fragrance sample. i had to try it. actually a very nice fragrance with very good quality despite the price. it goesnt smell like aventus but falls in the same category. this is much sweeter and a lot less complex and ashy. the mix of lemon and bambo actually does give a pineapple accord plus there is slight leather note. out of all the clones i ve tried this one is the best one. again it wont replace aventus but this is the first clone that i give two thumbs up. nothing cheap or overly synthetic here. a very nice one from zara. those who love aventus and want to buy something in the same vain that they can wear casually i highly recommend.

jacobbonilla

If you guys are familiar with multiple Aventus clones, well, this is just another Insurrection Pure, club de something or other, fresco, you get the hint. Yes they all resemble some characteristic of Aventus but definitely lack in quality and capturing the top to bottom of the real. I don't think any other house will ever get the mix quite right. As well as not have the resources to achieve the quality of ingredients that Creed does.

simpa256

@Plantus - Nope, I tried it again, on hands and neck, with only few sprays and it's the same thing. Not only was I unable to smell it, I've asked few ppl who were close to me or sitting near me if they could smell it and they couldn't after an hour or so. Withing that frst hour, it's okay. This doesn't happen with Sauvage or ADG Profumo or Invictus or some other stronger frags. Or Blue Spirit from Zara or their 3AM. So no, I think it is the frag and my skin that don't go that well together.

Kostas54

Here in Greece, in the recent years of the big crisis, innumerous little perfume shops have sprung up selling clones at really cheap prices (10 euros for 50ml - 15 euros for 100ml). I consider myself extremely lucky for finding a little shop whose Aventus and Prada Amber are EXACTLY like the originals!!!

Plantus

"if you want the actual Aventus smell you're gonna have to get Aventus"

What is the actual Aventus smell?! There are so much batch variations, this could easily pas as a new forulation.

Once I will finish my Aventus bottle I will never buy it again.

Plantus

@simpa256

15 sprays on the hand? Jesus Christ! Of course you got anosmic to the scent within an hour. :))

Vibrant Leather, on my skin, have like 60% of my 2015 Aventus performances, which is actually more that decent for me (6-8h longevity with moderate projection).

I have 4 clones of Aventus, Vibrant Leather is the best for me.

simpa256

I tried this today. First... the smell. This is really close to Aventus, in the opining and the heart. But the dry down is different. What you get here is a softer pineapple smokey birch wood feel where that woody feeling stays till the dry down. If yo want Aventus on the budget, really, look no further. Or if you want to see what Aventus is all about, this is the thing to get and try. If you like it enough, then you can go get Aventus.

But... there is always a but. This does not last long. I have put 15 sprays all over my hand, very concentrated so my hands was wet from frag. First 15 min, amazing aventus!! Then it dies down really really quickly. Within 45 mins it's a skin scent and after 2.5 hours tops, there is no trace of it. On a test strip it lingers for few hours but it's very weak on it as well.

If this had the power, Zara could not produce enough of it because majority of people would either get this over Aventus or save their Aventus and use this one to spray a lot and freely. If it only lasted for a solid 4 hours with 2 of good projection, it would have been a winier, and a hell of a winner. But sadly, it is not. I get much muuuch better performance and longevity from many other Zara frags than this one.

Sad, because I was ready to buy at least two bottles. I simply refuse to spend even this much on a frag that doesn't last. For comparison, I sprayed Zara Lisboa, ADG clone. Same thing, opening is strong and frag is beautiful... it just lasts 1-2 hours with 1 of those hours is a skin scent.

Zara 7.0 is worse frag than Vibrant Leather smell wise but pleasant enough to buy and it last quite longer. Vibrant leather is a close to Aventus and if for you it lasts hours, then it's no brainier, get it and get it now!! If t is like with me, avoid.

Melbourne man

When my decant of Aventus is done, i will replacing it with a bottle of this. So much similarity that it doesnt make a difference...well maybe $350.
edit: Although the actual scent remains a very good value alternative, the performance is wanting. At least i can afford the extra sprays on this one.

keen(nose)

I had a lot of wearing with vibrant leather now. The opening in this one is amazing. Creed aventus like opening here. I do get some bright citric opening with a pinapple accord. The opening doesn't last to long and I get a dry woody smell from the bamboo and leather blended well together. The leather is not that promienent like the bright Aventus opening in this fragrance.

This fragrance have been a great subsitute for my Aventus bottle. Aventus is such a versitile bottle but because of the cost I can now use this in those situtions when needed instead of Aventus. I love this fragrance because I can use it any time any where any season. When I asked people which is better they reply they are the same wow! Just becareful with not overspraying this scent. It may not smell strong but I have people said it is too much at times.

I'll have to try vibrant leather hopefully on Monday at zara after work. I hope it's in store as Exclusive Oud and Wood Noir were very hard to find locally.
@brutaldeluxe are you in england i can't find the edps in store or online.
Thanks for the feedback people very much appreciated.
I thought I'd try Zara instead of armaf cdni.

Plantus

@freedomlover

You are speaking about Rich Leather from the "Design in Leather" line.

Is the same bottle as the new presentation of Exclusive Oud or Wood Noir but is covered in fake white leather.

The performances are indeed better, being an EDP, however is a bit less similar to Aventus.

I find Vibrant Leather an excellent alternative to the Arabian Aventus clones. Plus is made by a well respecter perfumer.

Brutal Deluxe

Freedomlover

Zara have released an EDP called 'Rich Leather' which smells identical to Vibrant Leather. The longevity does seem to be improved and the packaging/presentation is a bit more refined. Not sure about the projection.

There are two other entries in the Zara's Leather series, Gourmand Leather and Unique Leather (also EDPs). The former is, to my nose, a clone of Ultra Male. Again the longevity is very good.

I think all three were being sold for £17.99.

Freedomlover

Hi

I've heard from a friend there's a edp version has anyone tried or found it in store apparently it's in darker bottles that should be much more intense.

Donjuandemarco

What can i say! 3 days ago i was in the zara store and sprayed this one back on my hand and immediately i get the Aventus/CDNI vibe. I was really impressed,i wanted to give it a day to see how it projects and how long it holds. It was also magnificent. After 20 Hours i could still smell the smokey zesty birch on my hand inspite of washing it several times. No kidding! I thought may be this could take place of my beloved CDNI with performance and smell.
The next day i bought it, came home and unboxed it ( without anything to rip off, bad package by the way.. I cant tell if it was opened or not due to not wrapping it with a folie) and the smell was completely different, no birch,no smoke just some cheap lemon with blast of alcohol which don't last at all! I thought okay may be i need to give the bottle a little bit of air, so it can breath and smell better. The following day tried it again and still a dissapointment.. What am i missing here? May be i just bought a bad rotten bottle

Fonz

I have this sprayed on my left wrist and Aventus on my right wrist. The scent is very similar. Comparing them, Aventus is strong and smokey, whereas Vibrant Leather is more mellow/laid back and has less depth. The similarity is undeniable though. As far as performance and projection, it's no contest: Aventus has the advantage. That should come as no surprise, considering the price difference. But for those who find Aventus too aggressive, and/or want a similar, inexpensive scent that's more suited for warmer weather, try this one out!

I own a few bottles of Aventus and also have a bottle of Pineapple Vintage. I stumbled across this fragrance while waiting in line to buy some clothes at my local Zara.

After spraying this on a test strip, I was pleasantly surprised how similar this smells to Aventus. The lemon and bergamot off the top gives the scent a 'pineapple like' vibe and the leather and patchouli gives this scent some depth. While this doesn't smell exactly like Aventus and doesn't feel as 'heavy' as Aventus, it's pretty good and for $30 CDN that I paid...this is a very good value scent. I will say that projection and sillage are not comparable to Aventus, and that's where wearing this in hot weather should help.

This is the kind of scent that is great for those who have Aventus and don't want to waste (expensive) sprays doing casual stuff or going to the gym, etc. It's also great for those who don't want to pay the (growing) price for Aventus, but want to wear something that gives off a similar vibe.

This is good stuff, and it's well composed. The perfumer for this scent is Jerome Epinette. Epinette has composed a lot of fragrances for Atelier, Byredo, etc. He composed Byrdeo Bal D'Afrique, which I believe to be a very nice scent.

Give this a try if you are looking for a less expensive alternative to Creed Aventus.

Very similar to Creed Aventus, but it's almost its own fragrence.

I was bought this as a Christmas present and I was truly surprised! I really enjoy the smell of Vibrant Leather. Yes, its very similar to Aventus, but its got enough of its own going on that it doesn't need to try to be Aventus. A very nice and affordable alternative if you're going for that citrus smell with some smokiness. Plus its a lot more affordable. Thumbs up from me!

Similar to Aventus, actually pretty good for what it is, great performance very well blended and natural smelling. Pretty good job, Zara is getting better and better relesses, but I better not rave them so much or they will release another crappy 15th clone of invictus ou 1 million.

bluektq

Aventus wannabe... its not necessarily a bad thing, though.

Jish80

The notes make no sense this is a aventus clone and a good one albeit with less projection.

Opening smelled like pure alcohol and citrus, not even a hint of pineapple to it for me. But after 5-6 mins i found the scent very pleasing. Didn't last for very long but it was nice while it lasted.

I tried that frag today and the only similarity to Aventus is the fruity top note. The rest is really sticky and smells cheap! Didn't buy it at all.

Creed aventus with less than 30$ , only has the poor longevity and sillage

When I first smelled this in the store, I knew I had to buy it. The similarities between this and Aventus is undeniable. The blast of pineapple at the opening is something that I've been looking for in all Aventus clones that is most often sadly lacking. However this one satisfies my criteria. The longevity is not as good as Aventus obviously but the drydown is insanely similar. You get the smokiness that comes through and you can still smell the fruitiness. This fragrance is awesome and I highly recommend you to pick one up if you can. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'll be going to be going back to the store and grabbing the rest of their stock tomorrow, cause it does not smell like a $30 cologne at all. Worth every penny.

Raidthesaladbar

A surprisingly convincing Aventus clone when you compare paper strips. However, on skin it smells like the diluted juice from a can of pineapples, followed by a hint of cardboard and stale smoke. Don't bother.

elmalover

I have this one and its quite similar to creed aventus.

the longevity and projection is not really so good on me but may be good on others
