Beauty Mark: A long time favorite here at Portrait, Jensen is one of those actors who has never had the misfortune of being out of work since he got into the business as a kid. He did commercials as a kid, but his first work on a series was for the children's program Wishbone. After a handful of parts here and there, he landed a prime spot on the daytime soap Days of our Lives, and followed that up with a recurring part in the sci-fi action drama Dark Angel, only to move on to teen dramas Dawnson's Creek and Smallville before landing in the role of a lifetime - Dean Winchester on Supernatural.

Supernatural has also given him the chance to go behind the camera - he's directed a few episodes of the series as well. The show has also given him a legion of loyal fans. This year, Jensen and his wife, fellow actor Danneel Harris, announced that they were expecting a baby, and so many of his Supernatural fans expressed an interest in sending them baby gifts, that Jensen put his fans' generosity to good use - asking those fans to donate to charity instead. Hats off to Cancer was his charity of choice, which provides hats for kids battling cancer

Beauty Mark: Though Jared did take acting classes as a kid, he didn't get his turn in the spotlight when he won the Claim To Fame contest for the 1999 Teen Choice Awards. It was his work at the awards show that got him noticed by casting directors, and he snagged the role of Dean on Gilmore Girls shortly after graduating from high school. And though he had other roles during the same five years he was on the show, Dean remains his breakout role, followed immediately by Supernatural on the same network. The bulk of his professional acting career has been made from his work on those two series, though he has had the chance to vary it up with roles in horror movies and feel good dramas as well.

With his busy schedule on TV and at home (he's a husband and a dad now), he still finds time to support causes like the Alzheimer's Association and the American Cancer Society. He also fronts a charity event for A Dog's Life Rescue every year. The organization is based in California, and they aim to rescue strays, teach people how to care for their adopted pets, and create a sanctuary for those dogs.
