It’s only been a month since season one of The Handmaid’s Tale wrapped up on Hulu, but fans of the show based on Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel are already fretting about having to wait until 2018 for new episodes. Thankfully, on Tuesday morning, Netflix announced it has a new show on the way that will certainly keep Handmaid’s Tale fans occupied until then. Based on another novel by Atwood, Alias Grace explores the life of Grace Marks (played by Sarah Gadon), an Irish immigrant working as a house servant who is convicted of murdering her employer, Thomas Kinnear, and his housekeeper and lover, Nancy Montgomery (Anna Paquin). “Murderess is a strong word to have attached to you. Murderer is merely brutal.” Marks says in the trailer’s voiceover. “I’d rather be a murderess than a murderer, if those are the only choices.”

The original novel was based on true-life events that took place in Canada in 1843, and much like Handmaid’s Tale, the series has a talented lineup of female filmmakers attached, including filmmaker Mary Harron (who directed American Psycho) and writer and producer Sarah Polley, who was nominated for an Oscar for her 2012 documentary Stories We Tell. Alias Grace premieres on November 3. Watch the newly released teaser trailer for the show below.
