It has the maximum level of elegance possible for a summer scent. Freshness and a perfectly balanced powderiness. As someone who has tested Cool Water before, I can admit that it is similar. But G.I.T. is pure gentlemanliness.
Literally 1984
Now to be clear before I say anything, fragrances are completely subjective and I am just some random on the internet so take what I think of it (and anyone else) with a grain of salt. Go try it out yourself, and don't just spray it on a strip or into the cap, actually put it on you and wear it throughout the day to decide if this is really for you, as creed isn't exactly cheap.
Scent 4/10
I don't get this scent at all, I am an enjoyer of older/more mature scents even those from creed, I really like Bois Du Portugal, not something I would wear mainly because of the lavender scent (maybe when I'm 60+) but still lovely, royal oud (my favorite scent I have ever got my nose on and worn) so on and so forth. But to me, this is just so boring. It's so clean, almost soapy and I am not a fan of florals neither and that is what I get even after 30+ minutes, and even after that I still get hints. The dry down is much nicer though, still not a huge fan but I do like sandalwood and I do indeed get that, but it's just too green with nothing else very interesting, almost like some damp weeds. Just not for me I guess.
Longevity&Projection
It does last for a decent some time, I can't really put a specific number on it but if I were to try, probably 6 hours of decent projection with 3 sprays.
DylanMcKay
Quite nice. Very safe. Lasts long. But the problem is that it’s incredibly dated. It throws me back to the 90’s and the era of Cool Water.
Miguelanski
Fresh, Green, Soapy and clean is the best way I can describe this fragrance. Never Dissappoints when it comes to the smell. Such a classy Fresh fragrance without smelling outdated. Only drawback for me is that it doesn't last as long as I would like. If not I'd give this a 10/10.
Brb2503
Stuff grows on you. First time trying it stung my nose, after that it turned into a deodorant type smell, 3rd times the charm and I was able to imagine a big green field with flowers in the distance and blue sky when I closed my eyes. The smell fits the weather where I live PERFECTLY at the moment. I have no problem with longevity either, 1-2 hours strong projection and moderate for another 6-7. Was still perfectly able to detect it in the air from myself 12 hours later.

Not good. This fragrance is not good but at least not the worst, I smelt this at the mall, actually quite excited to smell it but was let down by the smell. This is just not for me I know some people like but I do not. It for me smells very artificial and low quality. But now this is the thing that makes me really dislikes this fragrance… it’s about 150 pounds for 50ml bottle! It’s not even niche quality no where near and they have the confidence to price it at 150 pounds! Geez. One thing I will say though is that when I sprayed at the mall I could smell it for a long time and i could also smell it far away, only thing is i don’t want to smell this! At least it’s better than Viking though…

It’s blind but worthy it just smells good clean everyone will like it. Very easy to wear!

I got a sample of this and loved it. I heard Aspen smelled like it so I initially opted for that instead. But that sample taunted me everytime I smelled it. While I do really like Aspen and smell the similarities. Green Irish Tweed is on another level entirely. Far more nuanced, rich and developed. The structure and higher quality ingredients are evident factors in allowing the character of this profile to be experienced in vivid detail.
When speaking of a 38yr old fragrance, I doubt much can be said that hasn't been said already. I'll share my impressions of the scent still. I'm obviously a fan. I know unisex is the thing today but this is flat out masculine. The scent is super classy and has a calm confident vibe that doesn't need to shout to be noticed. Beyond the calm, well groomed, grassy & floral fields are hints of an alluring bit of mystery and sex appeal. But there's a sense of ease and nobility even in this. A sexiness that's neither obscure nor explicit but simply there as a natural facet. At no point does it come off as trying too hard to be any of these things. It feels natural and cohesive in all that it presents and inspires. I feel confident wearing it. Imo GIT is distinguished among fragrances that are similar to it and those that are not.
Right after Royal Oud, Green Irish Tweed is one of my top performing Creed's. If you care about this (I don't) it is a compliment getter. As far as longevity I get good 10hrs with 5 to 6 sprays. But the more I wear it (which has only been 5 times as of this review) I've had to cut it down to 3-4 sprays as this stuff is strong! And I'm still getting good longevity of 8 to 9hrs or better. Projection is atleast arms length for the first 3½ to 4 hours. Silliage is beautiful. I smell it wafting around me the whole time as I move about. But 3 to 4 sprays seems to be the sweet spot for me.
So when comparing my experience to others aross the net..either I'm one of the anomalies who has skin that works well with Creed frags or I've just gotten good batches. Don't know. I'll find out when it's time for new bottles. Provided this bottle doesn't break, at this rate I will have it for a long time!

From what i smelt in the store i went to, mid ass shit for 200e/50ml, i would rather give the money to a hooker and at least get something in exchange for my money

First smell.. just like Cool Water. I was like, yup. I see what they mean. Cool water is a good clone.
Then after 30 mins or so, I was like, actually I totally get the Irish Spring soap thing too.
Then after an hour I had enough. It’s too strong! Almost nauseating.
Someday I’ll try this all day with one or two sprays, but I’m a little cautious about it.

This is the BEST in my opinion. Love the DNA. Fresh, green a bit soapy that starts with a bitter citrus freshness. I swear by this. All time favourite. Love the invigorating opening and stays easy 6-7 hours on my skin in the hot Indian climate. This is the only fragrance I apply on my skin TBH.

Very piney, fresh, floral fragrance. Smells pretty good but a lot of these niche frags aren't worth the price besides maybe a few, and this is no exception so don't buy full price.

Classic scent, runs on the strong side. Safe bet if not used heavily. $$$

A beautiful green fragrance arguably the best on the market the real kicker is the price but if you have the funds and love green fragrances in general I think it's a must have smelles extremely elegant It smells like you're at the top of a light house on a irish coast that is really the best way to describe it definitely a more mature fragrence and makes you smell well put together
Mark_Harari22
Its a really nice smelling fragrance but for the price, its not worth buiyng, for my skin the longevity is weak and also the sillage is weak, for me personally ill give it a 7/10
Bnknowsfrag
For my birthday I received a creed discovery set and this was my favourite. On my skin this fragrance is very nice, in the first 2 hours it is a sweet floral fragrance and sort of smells like mancera of the wild. Then It dries down to a spicy fragrance. I recommend this fragrance to anyone who likes fragrances which reminds them of the outdoors and likes wearing unique scents.

A mysterious, complex, and ambiguous perfume that is both pleasant and captivating. Suitable for individuals with a multi-dimensional, complex, and enchanting personality.
I am deeply in love with this perfume.

You get a sweet, elegant, fresh, masculine, timeless, sexy (imo) scent from this fragrance with great longevity and great projection, not loud, it’s good for office and the gym and going out in summer or spring, now you can wear it at anytime but it smells the best for summer and spring, I get easily 10 hrs on my skin,
This is the closest fragrance to a 10 that i have ever had. 9.5/10

Anyone else think the performance is abysmal on this? I honestly get 2 hours and then a faint skin scent. Which is horribly sad because it’s simply a beautiful fragrance
Blisscentual
As an avid colognoisseur since 2016, I find Green Irish Tweed to be an exquisite and visionary parfum art created by master perfumer Monsieur Pierre Bourdon. To me, this creation gives the gentle confidence of a veteran sea captain embarking on a journey, setting sail at dawn. An awakening of scents and senses through the envelopement of coastal blooms within a cool salty mist, during this first hour of the journey. You slowly drift through the moss and sea(t)weed laden seascape, feeling enshrouded by a lush verdant tranquility, the sun starting to lift that cooler marine layer and brighten your day. As you make your way across the waves and skies, towards the isles of wonder, you are continually comforted by wafts of salty breeze scenting up the wooden treasures of that legendary vessel carrying you (and this beautiful fragrance). Bon Voyage!

Not modern and not dated, this perfume is just timeless. And absolutely fabulous.

First let me say that I’m not really a creed fan. I think everyone of their offerings I’ve smelled are overhyped and overpriced. The bottles are cool… but meh. However green Irish tweed is amazing. It’s fresh, green and soapy. This screams sophistication and intelligence. Yes, it’s slightly old fashioned but that’s a good thing. Also clear water smells nothing like this. That’s like saying a ford is like a Porsche. This would be the only creed fragrance I would spend the 400 dollar price on. Definitely a mature fragrance.

This fragrance radiates nostalgia. It smells like when I was 6 years old, digging through my dad's medicine cabinet and finding this dark green aftershave of his. Although this has a strong backing of mint in the opening, immediately I thought it had to have spearmint in some sense. Drying down, that mintiness goes away and settles into a dense dewey mossy fresh foliage that smells ultra masculine, ultra mature. As with the other two Creed frags I've sampled (VIW and Aventus), this has that unique "airiness" to it as well. Unfortunately however, this also only lasts about 3-4 hours on my skin, the same as the two other Creed fragrances. This is also the most synthetic smelling of the trio I've sampled so far, and seems like it could be easily replicated at a lower cost (minus the "airy" signature Creed note, which I've yet to positively identify).
Bader7II
If this fragrance was a song it would be floral shoppe by macintosh plus, amazing song, sounds so nostalgic yet so timeless, same thing with this fragrance, it smells nostalgic yet it’s very timeless (i bought a clone of this but it’s not on fragrantica but as far as i can tell this clone is at least 95% similar)
emanali443322t
I absolutely love this fragrance, especially when you can snag it at a good price from discounters. If you're a fan and it fits your budget, don't hesitate to go for it. Compared to Tres Nuit, I find this one to offer more complexity and development, and it performs even better on my skin. When pitted against Cool Water, there's no contest—this fragrance wins hands down.
I've had the chance to compare current batches with older ones, and they're practically identical. This fragrance has been preserved exceptionally well. It performs wonderfully without being overpowering to others, making it suitable for all occasions. If it weren't for the price, I'd wear it every day without a second thought.
Bader7II
I actually tried git yesterday and omg i love it, i have to get it bc it smells so good and fresh and unique and seductive, turns out the old man had taste
Moyashi04
I see that this fragrance gets compared with a few other fragrances. Forget about anything you've heard of. This is "the" fragrance. It's classy. It's mature. It's masculine. It's sophisticated. It's anything a gentleman can ask for. It is amazing and could suit you better than anything but please, please, wear this if you can rock it. Not if you think so, do it if you can actually rock it.
10/10

Green Irish Tweed is a very interesting fragrance. It's a bit like Aventus, but on steroids. It's longer lasting, better sillage, twice as "green" smelling as Aventus and more mature.
It definitely smells like a beautiful spring morning, mountain side. But on the other hand, it also reminds me of my high-school days.
After PE, when all the boys went back to the lockerroom, and everyone would spray on their deodorants and Eau de toilette that they stole from dad... the blend of all that, also kind of smells like Green Irish Tweed. I know it might not sound that alluring, but I mean it in a pleasant sort of way.
Hard do describe.
Overall, 8/10 will buy again.
bray6
straight grass clippings.. dont waste your money. 1/10
Psalzarulo
The first spray is a grassy, fresh, almost celery-like bright citrus. You can guess by the name that it's going to lean towards fresh, verdant, clean notes. I'll be honest, in that grassy scents don't really do much for me, and I've found the Creed scents I've samples to be generally over-hyped for what they actually offer compared to other brands. I'm still waiting to find a creed scent that "wows" me the same way as other niche like PdM and Tom Ford have.
I will say that if you are an enjoyer of fresh, green, grassy scents; or even fresh blue scents, this would certainly be something for you to try. It's clearly high quality in its ingredients. As far as notes go, I think this benefits from its simplicity, but the most prominent is grassy lemon verbena.
As far as wearability, this is as universal a scent as you could find, although the bright, fresh notes do lend more to warmer, sunnier occasions. Either way, this could definitly be an everyday scents for the office, date night, informal, etc.
Overall, this is just a really uninspiring scent and leads me more to believe I'm just not part of Creed's target market. I could probably find something similar-smelling at the discount rack for a fraction of the price, let alone by a mainstream designer for less than half of the price. 7.5/10 for me.

To me, Creed isn't the house that created Aventus. It's the house that created Green Irish Tweed
Huss_aladdin27
Can arguably say my fav creed fragrance ooh green Irish tweed the memories it's like walking through a Forrest on a rainy day just feels like it's the best setting Creed always has great scents but the brand is really really overpriced and the longevity and silage on their fragrances are moderate at best the brand is dying out
Nerdboy83
This is a fantastic woody, slight musky, floral fragrance that was nicely blended. This aroma smell mature, soft, calm, casual, inviting, & fresh. This fragrance is definitely a crowd pleaser, attention grabber, and a panty dropper. Even if you don't receive any compliments. Believe me, women will stand more closer to you more than usual & look in your direction more. This is a Spring/Summer scent. I honestly don't believe this would perform & unfold well in cold weather.
The longevity is fair. I usually layer my cologne with essential oils that are inspired by the fragrance itself to get the performance that I truly desire without having to keep overspraying.
I don't see much (Just little) comparison to cool water. Both fragrances have that gentleman aura touch to it. Cool water smell more oceanic. Green Irish Tweed smell more outdoorsy.
I would only reach for this.
1)Spring/Summer.
2)Daytime.
3)Job/Office.
4)Outdoor activities.
5)Dressing casual.
6)Hanging with the fellas.
7)Running a few errands.
8)The gym.
I wouldn't necessarily reach for this.
1)Going clubbing/Partying atmosphere.
2)Nights/Evenings.
3)Fall/Winter.
4)Attending a formal event.
5)Dressing sophisticated.
Zig von Katz
Eugh, this fragrance has a cheap, astringent, lemony, grassy smell to it. I tried to wash it off, but it just sticks to me. My roommate gagged when he smelled it. There is no reason for this to cost nearly as much as it does.
Geory
Smells like fresh grass and slight hint of cow piss

Smells like mowing the lawn

So, i’ve been looking in my dad’s old stuff, and there it is, Green irish tweed By Creed. Empty. And i asked my dad; dad, is this the real green irish tweed ? He said; well, yes but, it’s very old, i was young, and that was my favorite fragrance at that time, not anymore tho, I don’t think you would like it either. And so i kept it in my room just for fun, timeless piece of art of a bottle, it’s a pleasure for me to keep it.
Vorpal
I decided that Green Irish Tweed will become my "dad-fragrance", exuding a timeless allure and maturity that I aspire to one day fully embrace.
Imagine a stroll through a rainy forest—fresh, vibrant, and invigorating. That's the aura of Green Irish Tweed. Its green, bright, and clean composition evokes a sense of refinement akin to a classic gentleman's scent. Versatile enough for the office, yet fittingly refreshing for summer and spring, adding a touch of class to any occasion.
The only downside is Davidoff Cool Water's striking similarity, coupled with its significantly lower price point. Nonetheless, Green Irish Tweed reigns supreme in my opinion and surpasses similar fragrances, like Chanel Platinum Égoïste, with its timeless charm and sophistication.
AmberNote
I just got a decant of this and have to say that despite being a fresh fragrance, the performance is Beastly! Stick with 2-3 sprays unless you're going to be outdoors. The aquatic notes seem to settle down after an hour or so, and what you're left with is a beautiful citrusy violet and woody freshness that projects well with an impressive sillage. Edit: Sadly, about 4 hours in, the naturals have subsided, and the ambroxan is too strong, even headache inducing. Very very powerful fragrance.
istvan.buda.779
@ Micholas .. Same here , girl asked me if I wore Cool water , good thing it was just a sample I got ...so people pay 400 dollars a bottle just to smell like cool water
micholas
Coolwater ruined my experience of this fragrance to be honest. I love GIT and I don’t hate Coolwater, but every time I wore this someone would say to me ‘you’re wearing CW today, haven’t smelt that in ages’.. In the end it got very annoying and I stopped wearing it. I don’t know how anyone can review Green Irish Tweed without mentioning the Coolwater connotations. Even though CW was a rip off, they smell ridiculously similar and in a blind test I think most of the public wouldn’t be able to tell them apart.
Joe Brrr
Fragrance fit for a king. If it’s good enough for King Charles it’s probably good enough for you
robertwembridge
Imagine hating on the original that started it all and saying there are alternatives, this smells depthy, fresh but vigorous. Deep and sensational, emotive and grassy.
Darkstar _ Destroyer
If only you could bottle the boundless elegance of a gorgeous Spring morning ... well look, they did. Perfection.
FuzzyWig
If you are looking for a green fragrance to add to your collection , GIT and you're done. In the end, I am only allowed (and I concur) to have 4 fragrances sitting on the dresser. I have decided to rework my collection . A green , a woodsy oud, a freshie for summer ,and the all season signature, wear it anytime fragrance. So far we have GIT as the green and a wonderful sexy , smooth , well performing woody/ Oud you do not see on Fragrantica as of this writing. It is Ahmed Al Maghribi Summer Oud. It was a blind buy for me and it is a keeper. The search continues.
bierhaus
Is it just me or is recent GIT much weaker than say 3-4 years ago? The decant I purchased about 3-4 years ago was insanely strong with the green opening. It would wake me up with how strong it was and it lasted. It was like a shimmering green emerald was placed in my head and was projecting energy outward.
The recent decant I purchased smells strongly of Irish Spring soap at opening but that goes away within a couple minutes, and what's left smells like that cheap crap from Armaf Tres Nuit mixed with the aquatic nature of Cool Water from the Lancaster era. Sheesh...Creed disappoints these days.
Fragrance Goblin
Smells of a fresh mountain meadow with sweet purple flowers set against the sea.
What are you waiting for?
weazal
Applies as an amped up version of blue scents.
Frustrating that it’s called “green” when the dominant note is clearly marine. What green there is reads as the sour tang of new twig sap. A classier, deeper version of the generically fresh masculine scents that dominate department stores. Woodiness adds depth.
Overall, projects in a way that’s hard not to like - if it weren’t so familiar. Well done, but too safe. Dry down is well balanced fresh shampoo. Impressively made, but too common/safe.
EDIT: Skin ruined it, but fabric showed what I was missing. Sprayed on clothes and it became less blue, more sharp green pepper/menthol barbershop. Despite being dated, it's complex, heady, spicy snow. Cucumber spa water with fresh green jalapeno and clean laundry. The green element is dewy shampoo. Gorgeously crafted, but too soft.
stardust_ziggy
This has an unapologetic greenness to it and some type of subtle floral energy mixed with cleanliness. Leans masculine. Love it.

Greatest Green fragrance of all time!
Ourfrank
Ive wanted to like this for years but sadly I just cant. The green grassy smell is just so aggressive. When I smell it I feel like I struggle to get a breath. To be fair I hated Cool Water in the 90's as well. I dont get the appeal on this one. It just feels like its missing something to make it shine. Very Meh.
TBonetheFella
The smell of walking through a freshly trimmed and pruned garden during a warm summers morning. Life is good.
You are smacked with a refreshing blast of dewy and green fresh cut grass and citrus-y yet smooth lemon verbena when you first spray this on. Then as it dries down the citrusy green notes partner up with ozonic and powdery violet leaves with a nice backing of lightly creamy and woody sandalwood and ambergris. Refined yet casual. Sexy yet gentlemanly. Nostalgic yet timeless.
This is really really nice. Super grounding and clean that can be worn in nearly any daytime situation. While I am very familiar with "Cool Water", I never really got into it because the opening is really synthetic to my nose. This is much more "natural" smelling to me and because of that, it is much harder for anyone to actively dislike this. My biggest complaint about this fragrance, similar with all Creeds, is that it is so wildly overpriced that I seldom recommend it to people my age (20 as of writing this), because we are all broke college kids who would rather spend our money on beer or food than a 50 mL bottle that we'll go through in half a year.
Respectable performance of 8+ hours with moderate projection for the first 4-5 hours depending on what you're doing.
10/10. My favorite creed. Signature scent worthy.
joNick
The latest F batch is good in performance, longevity. For those who compare cheaper imitations/inspirations - GIT and Cool Water are like the hand made Croissants with the best gourmet ingredients at an artisan bakery vs the factory produced, packaged bun sold as croissants in supermarkets.
For me this is a confidence superdose, I like it at work, on a Sunday brunch and yes, on a night out too.
It separates the men from the boys.
Exudes pure class and sophistication.
Swayze123
Disliked it at first, the green notes hit me way to hard, and I was still new to the fragrance game. Tried it some 6 months later and I absolutely loved it. I guess you could say my nose wasn't fully adapted to the full spectrum and depth of notes that pertain to high quality fragrances.
Arsenal Till I Die
I kid you not, a 12 or 13 year old took his mum along to the department store I was in and went to the creed counter to try GIT ..wtf has happened to fragrances?? f*ck social media! it just looked so weird seeing a basically little baby wanting to try something like this especially for the price and performance. Get cool water and call it a day little man.
Mili.XX
Just buy Cool Water. Almost the same.
poloxx
Green Irish Tweed launched 1985, cool water launched 1988, lets have it right...cool water smells ever so slightly like GIT , but don't say GIT smells like cool water.....night and day comes to mind...you could say.. cool water is a poor man's Green Irish Tweed.
orestes
Very expensive…. Similar to cool water! Don’t spend your money…..
edinac
I know I’ll be in the minority here but I actually dislike this one. I find the opening to be a very odd combination of citrus, and also strangely off putting metalic scent that I can’t identify. I had a coworker actually say that it smells like dirty coins. That’s not even the worse part.. it’s the longevity and projection, or should I say lack thereof. I found myself having to over spray this just to get barely 3-4 hours of fragrance. I’m willing to chalk this one up to a bad batch, but I’m selling to my cousin who convinced me to blind buy
Sauvage77
Very fresh manly and pleasing to smell. A great everyday scent especially for warmer days.

Normal men's everyday shower type smell not bad not mind-blowing.

Amazing fragrance. The quality to my surprise is just as advertised, amazing. Also just as advertised, the performance. Very disappointing though i do not regret the purchase.
es_paradis
Update after six months: The longevity of the F-batch is laughable. In the summer it's practically a skin scent after an hour, and in spring (I wanted to use it as a spring / fall fragrance) is just slightly better.
It does smell great, it's as close to a luxurious forest smell you'll ever get, but I'll hardly go for another Creed after this.
CWD333
Simply my favorite fragrance of all time. People often compare it Cool Water (Chez Bond is a much better alternative for G.I.T IMO). But, although they maybe in the same family? They are totally different. G.I.T is a much better, higher quality fragrance. Its much smoother and performance is better on me as well. Green Irsh Tweed is much more natural and well rounded as well. Also, don't put too much stake into the batch debates. I just got a brand new bottle last month. Yes the batches vary slightly. But its still the same fragrance it's always been to my nose. The opening is great. A super fresh burst of lemon Verbena with green notes. Dry down the turns into a fresh, smooth, and super clean combination of green notes/woodsy notes. Projection on me is very good (over an arm's length easily). Silage is also very impressive for me (man people say it sits in the room with them after I've left). Longevity although not beast mode is still pretty good. I tend to get 8 to 10 hours out of this on my skin. Simply put this is a very clean, sophisticated, masculine, and timeless fragrance.
R.diggity
2015 batch:
Tested a new batch in store. Lasted 6 hrs. Without the classic powdery dry down I remember.
Bought a 2015 batch. 10 hrs. Projecting for 6. And the dry down is amazing. Insane sillage all day.
Just a grown man cologne.

Today is our first warm day of the season and there's nothing better to go with it than GIT.
What more does there need to be said?
WhiskeyTwoNine
This smells exactly like Irish springs soap if you want to sample it for cheap.
jetanach
This is one of the easiest perfumes that I could use it doesn't attack people around me, but it kind of smells like Cool Water so the price may be a bit too overpriced. In terms of quality comparison, this smells more natural than Cool water. But I usually wear it in spring and fall day time.

Aventus and this is really all you need to start. This is just such a fresh natural scent that basically everyone will love when they smell it it’s nothing I can say bad about it!

Yeah bud (LostSock below me), cuz the general public go around recognizing cool water on ppl. The "average person" doesnt even wear cologne, let alone identify cool water in its dry down. Seems very legit bud.
My friend with a severe learning disability also confuses all green cars and thinks they're the same because they're both green - even though one is a corolla and the other is a vintage corvette. It makes me wonder why I even appreciate/ride my corvette because of this friend's clearly sophisticated opinion.

I like this, yet almost without fail whenever I wear it someone asks if I'm wearing Cool Water. Makes me wonder why I paid £160 for this when I could just wear the £20 CW I've got. This is definitely more refined, but in the air to the average person, it's Cool Water.

This fragrance is fascinating art. The list of notes is pretty much what you get but there's more to it. The lemon verbena opens nice and green, with some very damp earthy violet leaf coming through. There's an aquatic chemical in the opening and middle but it's tastefully done. There's a clean-clothes element in the middle along with a fantastic iris. Lots of orris butter, this phase is really beautiful. There's often a gorgeous soft purple/green dance toward the late middle between floral and herbal notes. This dries into a nice squeaky clean ambergris and I can sort of tell what they're going for with the sandalwood accord but I wish it were a little more concrete and prominent but I do enjoy what I get.
My bottle is years old and the fragrance has changed a lot. Don't take all the reformulation talk too seriously--old bottles will always smell better side-by-side and in three years people will be saying *your* bottle was the peak and new bottles are watered down.
GIT has a reputation for freshness, but I think that oversimplifies it. I actually find this a warm and cozy fragrance. Sure it has a green aquatic freshness to it, but the texture of it feels more like a soft clean blanket. It's a scent to get wrapped up in.

I used to adore this so much, I must have had 6 bottles. Then something happened last year, the fragrance changed in a bad way. Creed have done something to this and it no longer has 50% of the potency it once had which to me is heartbreaking. I swore I would not purchase again because there is no depth or longevity / projection.
I experienced the same thing with Aventus. Very poor show Creed - get your shit together and sort this out!!!!
A real shame

Not for me.

I've noticed that even people who think Creed is an overrated house seem to agree on the particular excellence of Green Irish Tweed. It's been described as the equivalent of walking through the Irish countryside and that's exactly what it feels like: it's as green as green can be, and the violet leaf and lemon verbena carry everything before it.
It's unfortunate that this is pretty expensive since it's so wonderful--this is one of the all-time finest men's fragrances, period. Wearing this makes me feel both peaceful and uplifted, which is what this type of a great scent should do.

Green Irish Tweed by Creed is a classic fragrance that has stood the test of time, embodying the essence of the great outdoors with an elegant and sophisticated flair. Upon the first spray, one is greeted with a fresh and invigorating burst of lemon verbena and peppermint. This refreshing opening paves the way for the heart of the fragrance, where the green notes of violet leaves truly shine, capturing the lushness of rolling hillsides and the vibrant life force of spring. The base notes of sandalwood and ambergris add a warm, rich foundation that complements the green, fresh notes, resulting in a scent that is both timeless and contemporary.
It is more than just a fragrance; it’s an experience. It transports the wearer to a verdant Irish landscape, where the air is filled with the promise of new beginnings and the joy of exploration. Its impressive longevity and moderate sillage make it a versatile companion for any occasion, capable of evoking a sense of natural elegance whether worn daily or reserved for special moments.
As we welcome the first day of spring, Green Irish Tweed by Creed is the perfect fragrance to celebrate the season’s arrival. Its fresh, green notes are a fitting homage to the rejuvenation and renewal that spring brings. So, to all who are celebrating the first day of spring, let’s embrace the new beginnings, the fresh starts, and the endless possibilities that this season symbolizes. May this spring bring you joy, prosperity, and the freshness of new opportunities, much like the timeless elegance of Green Irish Tweed. Happy First Day of Spring! 🌷🌿🌱

Moderate projection, lasts maximum 6 hours on my skin. Overall very likeable, mass appealing scent which is very identical with Davidoff cool water with some differences in terms of the base aspect which is not so marine but musky.
Frag1979
Seems way weaker than one i bought 5 years ago. Need to re apply after an hour. Great smell for the outdoors. Like a meadow but better. Not for intimate dates or similar imo. Opening is amazing but doesnt smell great on my skin after several hours especially on hot days but its ok. Becomes slightly pungent and sour. If im paying this much it has to be perfect. Sadly its not. Its just ok.
ChickenTacos79
Smells beautiful. This is not a massive projector, depending on how you spray, you can expect 2 hours of projection, but then it becomes a long lasting close/almost skin scent. You won't be filling a room 7 hours later but you'll still have a pleasant hint of it left for yourself or anyone that gets close to you. It's easy to get spoiled by some of the massive projectors out there (Sauvage Elixir this ain't) but don't let that put you off of this. This is a great, classy fragrance and if you can find it at a reputable discounter, it's worth it.

I’d rather just dump the cut grass from the bag of my lawn mower all over myself and roll around in it for free instead of paying $350+ for this 3/10 fragrance, would easily last longer as well

Green Irish Tweed is a symphony of masculine opulence unveils itself as an opulent symphony, a fragrant masterpiece that encapsulates the essence of enduring masculinity. As an aficionado of exquisite fragrances, I am captivated by the sublime amalgamation of notes that define this olfactory masterpiece.
The inaugural notes of Lemon Verbena and Iris orchestrate a prelude of unparalleled freshness and vitality. The zest of lemon intertwines with the earthy richness of iris, crafting a vivacious and enlivening overture that befits every discerning connoisseur. This initial flourish emanates an air of self-assured charm and timeless allure.
In the heart of Green Irish Tweed, the singular note of Violet Leaf takes center stage, weaving a tapestry of verdant sophistication. The aromatic essence of violet leaf imparts a refined, masculine aura, seamlessly melding with the citrusy top notes. This midsection unfolds as a sonnet of greenery, creating an harmonious composition that is both distinctive and graceful.
As the fragrance gracefully descends to its base, the notes of Ambergris and Sandalwood emerge in a crescendo of warmth and richness. The velvety embrace of sandalwood intertwines with the suave, animalic allure of ambergris, forming a foundation that persists throughout the day. This sumptuous and intricate base serves as the magnum opus, leaving an indelible signature that is simultaneously memorable and irresistible.
Green Irish Tweed, with its meticulously curated notes, emanates an enduring sophistication that transcends fleeting trends. The fragrance is an ode to classical masculinity, a consummate companion for the contemporary gentleman who values understated elegance. Whether donned for a day in the boardroom or an evening soirée, Green Irish Tweed elevates every moment, leaving an enduring impression of refined and dignified masculinity.

It is a rare, pleasant day in London. You are heading for your barber appointment, as you do every Friday. You are a man of your habits. The barber, who also serviced your father, knows the topography of your face and your head as well as his way to the pub. And you're done in no time: a dusting off your neck with powder, a spritz of cologne, and you're good to go.
It is getting hotter; the sun gently touches your cheeks, reminding you of a long-gone first love, whose name you can't remember.
Suddenly, a gust of wind brings you the smell of a flowering field in the heart of the city.
Violet, her name was Violet.
Brdnz
I mean it smells nice sure, maybe something groundbreaking when it first came out. Still not too dated imo
Smells green, grassy, very fresh but hardly lasts an hour. Just get cool water or a clone, the average person smelling GIT vs cool water or a clone side by side couldn't tell you which was one is the high end fragrance at any rate higher than chance. I don't get the insane hype for this at all super disappointing
craigiepaigie
Save your money and buy Cool Water at a FRACTION of the price. They're practically identical.
Arsenal Till I Die
Would love for somone to give me a valid reason why it would be worth buying anything from this house and that includes on the grey market which even then you’re still not getting any value for money. You’d only buy this to stroke your own ego. Doesn’t last and not worth a single penny like anything else from this house.

I wasn't convinced about this when I first got it, but the more I have and use it, the more I love it. It's unique, high quality, refreshing, addictive, and fresh/uplifting. I don't normally get compliments on my frags, but I walked into the clinic for labs this morning and the lady said "oh, you smell good!" Yeah, I love this one more and more as time goes on.
CarelessWhisper
It smells indeed like Davidoff's Cool Water EdT. Maybe a little more refined than Cool Water but that's about it. If you like one, you'll also like the other. It smells a little bit dated to me. If you already have it, rock it, but do not repurchase because it is way overpriced for what it is. If you really like the scent profile go with Cool Water and apply a few sprays more. Performace on me was very good. I applied 3 sprays at the store and could even smell it the next day (probably 20 hours later). Projection was about right, like you want it to be. I think if you really wanna get noticed 5 sprays will do the trick. This would make a great signature scent and can be worn year round. The all black bottle is classy as hell. I see a man who is at least 30 wearing this. Personally I like classy scents but am not the Cool Water kinda guy so I would go with something different. Nevertheless this is a good fragrance and I would give it (objectively) a 8/10 but for my personal taste it is just okay.
MrBentley
It is a lovely scent, a premium version of Davidoff cool water, yet still unique, this scent can hold its own though. Higher quality than predecessors or dupes.
cads
This smells amazing. The smell is very mature and masculine. It smells like grass, citrus, and morning dew to me. It smells like a walk in the woods of the northwest after a light rain. Very specific but that's how it smells to me. Price is outrageous for this stuff. Price of Creed is criminal and they need to lower their prices eventually. I would call this a great casual daytime/office scent that could be used for any occasion if someone desired. Extremely versatile.
Cant be a 10/10 because of price - so 8/10
andreiBBB2007
Amazing performance with a really nostalgic feeling. I got this fragrance as a gift and firstly I did not like it because of the slightly harsh opening, but after around 10 minutes it smells amazing and fresh. One of the best summer fragrances in my opinion.
coooolash
Don't waste your money.. buy coolwater exactly same

Pierre bourdon created later cool water to settle up with Creed! Creed did mistreated Pierre bourdon!
bartca89
This is such a good fragrance.... I like it way better than I thought I would, from just testing it on the back of my hand. So rich, citrussy/spicey, and pleasing… and so well-composed. No accident it's been around since 1985. It’s also more floral and springy than I thought it would be, although I still see it as a good all-season scent. It’s expensive as heck…. but personally I'd still buy this over Cool Water.
ASmellySmell
It does smell like cool water. Did this one come first? It's definitely higher quality Cool Water. Not bad.
somedude12345
absolutely lovely. perhaps a little overprice with run of the mill performance, but the scent is truly beautiful. it smells like the shower gel id imagine a billionaire would use. people say its too mature for people in their 20s, but I totally disagree. it has enough of the "blue" dna to appeal to the youth and enough substance to appeal to the older crowd. a great fragrance that would actually be worth the 250 or so dollars you can find it at discounters for if the performance was a little better... which is saying something because most creeds just arnt worth the money.
atticus1990
Outdated and overhyped, but still good.
Reminds me of an 90s fougere.
Kyer
This is FANTASTIC!
I don’t agree with the people that say this is a suit up multimillionaire kind of fragrance only, while of course this would perfectly fit a CEO I don’t think it is ONLY for them, it’s way more versatile than that.
The smell itself is marvelous, it’s green, fresh, woody, kind of mossy and has a nostalgic edge to it.
If I had to describe it as a place it would be a rainforest in Ireland on a spring cloudy day. It is a serious kind of fragrance but I still think it’s completely versatile and many people could rock this as long as they’re not the “playful” kind.
One of the most accurate names I’ve seen in a fragrance, it is definitely green, it does smell like Ireland, and I do see it in someone using a tweed jacket.
Best from Creed, still 100% worth to this day.
Clay_N
This was my very first foray into the niche world, and my bottle is from circa 2010 or slightly before.
Opening with hits of floral and ambergris immediately made this feel elevated from what most people were wearing. I still have my og bottle to this day.
jdvice
I really wanted to love this scent. I think it fits my personality well and would be a great signature spring time scent. I could not be more disappointed with the performance. This stuff was lasting maybe 2-3 hours. Creed has to do something about the performance.
PapaTLooch
Sprayed this generously on my arm at Neiman today and couldn't believe how poor the performance was. Less than three hours later I could barely smell it. Smelled great but I would never pay retail for the current formulation.

Green Irish Tweed by Creed stands as a timeless masterpiece that transcends time, encapsulating the essence of a revitalizing stroll through the Irish countryside. Launched 39 years ago, this fragrance still serves as a beacon within the realm of citrus aromatic woody musk scents.
The invigorating opening is a harmonious symphony, blending lemon verbena and iris into an olfactory explosion that is simultaneously clean, green, and subtly spicy. As the fragrance gracefully evolves, violet leaves join the ensemble, introducing a touch of floral elegance to the composition. Anchoring the olfactory journey, the base notes of ambergris and Mysore sandalwood weave a musky, woody embrace.
Green Irish Tweed exudes a nostalgic charm, reminiscent of classic elegance without succumbing to a dated allure. Its enduring and timeless nature pays homage to the craftsmanship of perfumery. The delightful interplay between floral notes and woody, powdery accords creates a harmonious olfactory experience.
Donning Green Irish Tweed is not a mere application of a fragrance; it signifies an immersive journey that uplifts the spirit. The strikingly masculine opening sets the stage for an experience that lingers in the memory. The fragrance's noteworthy longevity and value for money make it a prudent investment for connoisseurs of quality and craftsmanship.
Beyond being a personal indulgence, Green Irish Tweed transforms into a statement, evoking a sense of well-being and leaving a positive impact on others. It surpasses the realm of being just a scent; it evolves into an ode to the seamless blend of citrus, aromatic, woody, and musky elements—a captivating symphony that resonates with both admirers and wearers. A genuine hymn to the artistry of citrus aromatic woody musk scents.

old money. this scent is discovered, not announced. wanted to love it but I could never wear this. it's pleasant but not what I want to smell like. unlikely to turn any heads and will require more than a couple sprays. hot summer days should help it perform.
Bizzy1995
Opening is really strong fresh, lemony and green smell. Dies down to a slightly salty, airy almost grass like scent. This reminds me of springtime. A beautiful, timeless fragrance
becham54
It has a very cheap scent compared to its price, you would never pay that much for this scent.

Been using GIT since 2019. Been fortunate to own bottles from 2005, 2011,13,15,15,17, 19,21&F batch.
My favorite batches are from 2005, 16 and 17. I own 2X 250ml 17Y01 Flacons, which is my grail GIT. It is just right, as for the F batches well.... I tried a couple of Aventus batches and felt hopeful based off this. So I got a bottle of an F batch and the best part is the metal cap.
Prehaps it needs maceration but it definitely lacks all round for me, I hate to say it but GIT has died. It lacks that initial bright ozonic punch, great drydown and performance.
If you can get a bottle before 2020, get it if you enjoy GIT. My 19Y01 was good stuff.
F batches have the scent but it is not popping, smooth, vibrant with good performance. It's a shame because it really is such a great fragrance. This is a hands down versatile, vibrant, approachable, simple yet unique 'just right- processional scent. Inoffensive and ladies over 20+ love this, just make sure you shower properly!
10/10.

Do you like cool water, then you don't need to buy it, there is a serious difference between the price and at this price my preference would be cool water. If we eliminate the price issue, it is definitely among my favorites in the summer and I see that it preserves the freshness in a tremendously good way, I hear that some people around me cannot get the same performance in the same product, I don't know much about this issue, but I myself am definitely a fresh summer scent that can be bought if the price issue is not a problem.
St.0cky
This has to be arguably one of the top 5 fragrances ever created. Its past the point of masterpiece its a grail imho. Hats off to Bourdon.
And to anyone talking about coolwater, please. Stop.
I grew up with coolwater. My dad used it every night after shaving.
It lasts like 2 hrs max. Barely projects. Is aquatic not grassy. Its basically an aftershave.
soplekongen
Smells like a freshly mowed lawn
0xrafae
It's quite remarkable that this fragrance was created nearly 40 years ago, yet it still offers a solid dose of freshness. An excellent and effortlessly appealing choice for summer.
Freshnclean
The Coolwater comparisons are generally correct except for one thing - Green Irish Tweed lacks the aquatic note Coolwater has. It’s pure green as opposed to a blue-green. While I happen to like GIT I don’t think it’s suitable for younger guys. This is a mature, dad / grandpa kind of scent.
I also think this is one of the least expensive smelling expensive colognes - if that makes sense. This is a basic barbershop scent with a touch of a soapy cleaning product vibe. If I didn’t know it was by Creed I would probably guess it was a sub $60 cologne.
So in conclusion it’s a decent, grown up barbershop scent and most of what you’re paying for is the Creed name
Antoshka2
To me it smells like a slight variation of cool water. I don’t dislike it at all but I think it’s crazy overpriced. Might as well buy cool water, it’s less than £20 and people mistake it for this frequently. It is a lovely fragrance but I don’t like it more than £30.
PhysicsGuy13
My first fragrance that you couldn’t buy at Macy’s (not true anymore). I first purchased Green Irish Tweed over 15 years ago after reading that George Clooney wore it. I figured wearing it would be the closest I ever got to him. I still love this fragrance and it remains a classic that everyone should experience. Creed’s pricing is insane, but discounters often have good pricing on GIT. It is perfect for all seasons and still smells rich and classy.
doublet33
My favourite office/work fragrance. It smells clean, green and expensive and generally well liked by every body. My bottle is from 2018 and it projects really well and is long lasting. 3 sprays before work and I can still smell it around 3pm which is great.
The perfect classy fragrance for the spring/summer. I've tried cool water and other clones but none seem to have that classy green smell that GIT gives off. Now that I only go into the office twice a week it's worth buying the real thing.
THE_Scentaholics
This scent smells like a cleaner citrusy version of Irish spring soap. I like it. I sprayed it on my clothes and it doesn't last. Ended up buying a Montague dupe. Smells 99% similar and lasts all day.
What's up with creed and longevity?
Great scent, short duration.

This is special and unique fresh scent. I would not wear this every day, but on those days I want an uplifting fresh burst of green, this is what I reach for.
Eaudegrace
My love affair with this fragrance began the moment I sampled it at Nordstrom back in 2019. I initially sought out Aventus due to its widespread acclaim, but my disappointment arose when it faded away within 20 minutes. This fragrance, on the other hand, captured my heart and felt like the ideal choice for a signature scent. It exudes the essence of a mature, well-mannered gentleman who takes pride in maintaining himself and has every aspect of his personal and professional life in order.
In my opinion, labeling this scent as perfect might even be an understatement. Few fragrances have had the same impact on me, making it well worth sampling, at the very least.
Jesse's Fragrances
This is one of the greatest perfumes I’ve ever smelled. Very green and musky at the same time, with an aquatic dry down. Sort of like a greener Davidoff Cool Water, but much more higher quality, classier, and “remastered”. Great performance.
mikebardenpiano
invigorating, refreshing, fresh, light, clean. You can smell the quality. An awesome olfactory pick-me-up.
Serpentarius
I'll get this out of the way: I know I've smelled Cool Water directly and I'm sure I've smelled it on others but I can't confirm how similar GIT is. Side by side would be ideal, but there is something 'nostalgic' or a bit familiar about GIT. Reminds me a bit of Clubman powder by Pinaud. Both Clubman and Cool Water are 100% scents you would come across in a barbershop.
My friend gave me a 10 ml sample of this as a gift and WOW! Love at first sniff. The versatility in this one is crazy! Office, formal, night out, casual. Definitely gets more mileage in warmer weather but indoors is the great equalizer. It's more 'mature' but I would say any age can rock this.
It mixes well with my skin chemistry, so grateful for that. It lasts as long as it's supposed to...I get about a solid 3 hours, then another 1-2 fading. It's addictive to smell and very much in the crowd pleaser category. I get an instant confidence spike wearing this. It's a masterpiece. I needed a full bottle yesterday!
St.0cky
Just got my sample today. It smells fantastic.
I grew up smelling Cool Water almost on a daily basis. My pops wore 2 fragrances, Giorgio Armani pour homme edt and Coolwater.
I can say this doesnt smell like CW to me.
GIT smells green almost like you are walking through the woods and it just rained, but there is soap everywhere. Its like a spa in the forest. Coolwater smells aquatic.
Did Bourdon take some of this DNA to CW? I think so..he had just found such success with GIT. But CW goes in a different freshie direction and is way cheaper, synthetic, with virtually no drydown uniqueness, it just fades and dies at the 4 hr mark. My pops used it like an aftershave at night.
Instead of listening to people try to tell you to buy $30 clones, go sample GIT and see for yourself. Actually wear it, not just smell it at a counter or on a little piece of paper.
NorthByNorthEast
Masterpiece. That is the one word to review this. Another is timeless. Or elegant. Suave. Debonair. Gentlemanly. Rugged. Refined. Exquisite. It could go on and on.
It really is my favorite men's fragrance. I find myself just sniffing the atomizer if it is within reach. I'd wear it everyday for any occasion if it weren't so expensive. It's green. It's blue. But the color that stands out to me is purple. It's the color I see when smelling this. The iris/violet/lavender notes are the MVP notes. It's the green grass opening that many people comment on, but those floral notes are what tie it all together for me. And the ambergris smooths it all out so that it is effortlessly lush, yet retains a sparkle and life. Pierre Bourdon. Creed. A tip of the cap on this one. It will always be on hand in my fragrance arsenal. 10 out of 10 if there ever was one.
POTFORTY2
This is just the greatest and my favorite of all time. Nothing does ‘it’ for me like this one. I get high smelling this in the air I can literally feel happy chemicals surging in my brain. I do get a tolerance so I take breaks and use other niche fragrances but only so I can get that hit of GIT again and have it really work.
I can’t explain why this is so amazing it just is. The effect it has transcends reason.
Kuldeep S
To my nose this fragrancy highly resembles cool water.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many reviews on a fragrance before. My nephew recently purchased this and it smells divine on him. Every time I see him, I want to hug him. I happen to love clean citrusy fragrances and this does not disappoint. I loved it so much he gave me the small travel size to keep. I almost choked when I heard how much it cost but honestly, I think it’s worth it. Fragrance is so subjective depending on each person’s chemistry. I am female, and it smells the same on me as it does on my nephew. Every time I need to feel special ispritz it on my wrists and enjoy it most of the day.
I am not a sophisticated reviewer of fragrances as some here are, I just know what appeals to me As a female, I tend to love light florals anf green fragrances. I do not like sweet or vanilla notes at all.
StuffReeks
GIT is a dopamine SMACK to the face.
The opening is fresh & invigorating with notes of citrus and lemon. Nothing earth shattering here, and potentially where many will make snap judgements. What this does though, is clear the stage and cleanse the olfactory for what is to come. For what lies beneath, is where the true power is revealed.
Often, Cool Water or Aspen are compared. While each of these may grab subtle aspects of GIT’s opening; they are both watered down nothings that disappear in under a hour. Neither are remotely close to the magnificence and quality that soon radiates.
As the citrus evaporates, the iris, violet, lavender, sandalwood & ambergris combine to form Voltron. Emergence begins, transcending the individual components. Multiple notes and accords interweave creating a new complex entity.
The evolution and development will progress over time. Here I would argue, the scent takes on a similar to drug inducing quality; perhaps at a milder non-psychoactive level. Intoxicating waves of pleasure seep into the mind. The emotional response of sensations can be quite intense and distracting.
Either the creators were dabbling in witchcraft potions and stumbled upon this concoction, not fully knowing what would be unleashed; or there are clearly sorcerers living among us.
Excellent longevity, releasing wafts 10+hrs Spraying on clothes increases effects.
The current F-batch is of incredible quality.
Fabean
I got a decant of a 2016 bottle and there's more to it but it's definitely got a little bit of Cool Water in there. In the opening i'm guessing it's the mysore sandalwood cause there's a cumin kind of smell. It stays for about 2-3 hours on my skin. After that, the notes combine and it's a really nice and clean scent. It's got quite a blue style of soapiness but it’s more green than blue. It smells pretty natural and smooth. It doesn't have a synthetic screechiness. I know most people say it’s like walking in the woods but to me it’s a combination of land, air and sea. On my skin, I don't get iris and it's basically verbena, violet, sandalwood and ambergris. I sprayed 3 sprays on the inside of my elbow to test it and It projected well for 2-3 hours and then it became a scent bubble. It lasted for a long time. About 10+ hours which is pretty long and it was still projecting softly at that point. I had to take a shower after but I think it might have kept going for a little longer. Old batch supremacy I guess. I don't think it’s a safe blind buy cause it doesn't have the safe and mass appealing style of cool water. Definitely get a decant and test it on skin before buying a bottle. If you're looking for a natural and clean smelling green scent that smells professional then this is a great choice.

Green Irish Tweed (GIT) is an aromatic, green and woody fragrance.
The opening of this fragrance is fresh, aromatic and herbal, like smelling a garden or a green field and a clean smell, it is a smell that puts you in a good mood. As the minutes pass, the presence of woody and slightly earthy notes increases, but without losing its aromatic characteristic, and it remains this way until the end of its development.
GIT is a timeless and versatile fragrance, it can be used in any season of the year, both in formal and casual situations, with an aroma that will also be liked by young and mature people.
In terms of performance, it has good longevity, on average more than 8 hours, but the aromatic trail is very short and the aroma has some airy property that at times makes it not noticeable or gets lost in the environment, but sometimes light breezes arrive of its smell.
Personally, I like GIT more than Aventus, and I share the thought that its aroma is close to that of Cool Water with some differences, one of them is the quality that is better perceived in the Creed fragrance, although I do not think that the difference in quality be equivalent to the difference in price since GIT is at least 10 times more expensive than Cool Water. If someone can and wants to pay for it they will have a very good smelling fragrance, but if others prefer or can afford Cool Water or other fragrances of the same style they will also have a great smelling fragrance.

Great scent, extremely weak performance!!! I have EDTs that last longer.

I ordered a set of samples from Creed so I could see firsthand what they're all about. GIT is the first fragrance I tried.
Starts out like, "Man, I'm in the woods now!" Love the woodsy opening and I was surprised it didn't hang around longer. The scent started to go sweet(er) with the powdery thing coming on; the florals kicking in as well. So far, I'm really enjoying this stuff. Still wishing the opening stuck around longer.
I love the dry down as the sweet florals and amber come together with perfume's bass notes. Aside: is it base... or bass? I guess it's base because everyone knows the only real bass is a Fender Precision ;)
Then a strange thing happened, at least on me... the scent basically turned into a skin scent. An hour in and it's barely there.
Overall, I like this stuff except for the Houdini act at the 1 hour mark. Would I buy it? No. It's insanely overpriced.
Edit ( a couple of months later): Ok, I was wrong. I take back the, "I wouldn't buy it" thing. I bought it and well, I love it. Wish it had a little more longevity but man, this stuff smells fantastic. An extra spray, or two, and the longevity is decent. The dry down is wonderfully good and it has one of my fave openings. Great fragrance!

#415 in my "Tour de Fragrance"
The overhyping in these reviews, it's just nonsense. People act like Creed scents are part of some sacred cult ritual. It's a business here to make money for the shareholders people. St. Peter won't be sniffing you for Aventus before he let's you into heaven.
Armaf Le Parfait for $21. Al Haramain L'Aventure Knight for $30. Lataffa Raghba for Men (the black bottle with the gold cap) at $20 or less (the best of three to my nose). I did side-by-sides. They're close enough most won't care enough to pay $200 and up more for the original.
GIT may have been unique 38 years ago, but it's common as toast today. Cool Water and Aspen are of course not really versions of this fragrance, no EDT is, but even those cheapies can be layered for a similar effect at a lower cost.
I have all the clones, but when my GIT travel spray is empty I'll also be layering Aspen and Missoni Wave at a cost of $65. Not to duplicate GIT, won't last as long, but it actually smells fresher, way less long-in-the-tooth. And it uses up two scents I have that by themselves aren't worth wearing.
Those of you that like vanilla and tropicals, try layering Wave with Cool Water Intense. Nice result too. Personally I am not a huge fan of coconut, especially in warm weather when you smell it in every suntan lotion. But it works.
hc123
GIT on one arm Cool Water on the other. Cool water is a brighter, slightly sweeter and yes of course slightly more synthetic. This is a scent profile I don't think you need to pay 10x more for unless it's your love love scent. 99% of the population, if they like this scent dna, will think you smell good with either.

The newest batches are phenomenal. Insane longevity and sillage. Genuine beast mode.
Expensive as all hell, but worth the price. The epitome of a classic gentleman's fragrance.
Pointdexter
It’s a classic masterpiece and well above niche perfume average. Comparisons with Davidoff’s are totally ridiculous. Price has significantly risen and reflects the juice concentration which has clearly improved previous formulations. GIT is 30 times more expensive than the Davidoffs imitation and 10000 times a better perfume. Your choice
M-as-Marin
If there were a single perfect word to describe GIT, it would be ‘masterpiece.’ This fragrance has set future trends that remain visible today. Despite the emergence of numerous imitations, GIT maintains its unique character, appealing to fragrance enthusiasts, connoisseurs, and perfume consumers worldwide. As a classic in the perfume world, it continues to leave an indelible mark, reminding us of the artistic beauty that can be captured within a single scent.
TOP NOTES
What I experience in the opening is essentially the same as what I encountered eight years ago when I owned the old-style 120ml bottle: a fresh blend of herbs and citruses. Primarily, the lemon verbena effect stands out alongside a clean representation of ozonic violet. Nothing more, and nothing less, except for the clear presence of ambergris, noticeable from start to finish. Yes, there’s also a subdued aquatic vibe, which is short-lived and fades away in the heart notes.
HEART NOTES
As the heart notes begin to unfold, the zestiness from the opening starts to dissipate, and we are welcomed by a magnificent introduction of aromatic, natural-smelling lavender, and powdery iris. To my nose, this reveals a more intricate and nuanced olfactory experience, building upon the fresh and invigorating top notes. The perfectly executed blend of floral and woody elements adds additional depth and character to the scent profile and is a joy to experience for anyone who loves to smell like a true representation of nature.
BASE NOTES
The dry down is where the fragrance is at its best if you ask me. Most of the aforementioned notes are still slightly detectable and sit beneath the salty and musky ambergris, woods, and oakmoss. This oakmoss is actually a modern representation of the same note found in the perfumes from the ’70s and the ’80s, which means it doesn’t smell dated at all. These deeper, more sensual, and comforting aromas round up the experience in the classic brand fashion we are all probably familiar with.
OVERALL
Comparing GIT to Davidoff’s Cool Water is understandable, as most fragrance enthusiasts started with the latter rather than an expensive niche perfume. I first owned a bottle of GIT in 2014 or 2015, marking my introduction to this niche house. Despite my love for Aventus, Millésime Impérial, Royal Oud, and Erolfa, GIT holds a special place as my first love in the fragrance world. For these reasons, it receives my highest recommendation as a must-have fragrance in your collection.

I must say this fragrance is a crushing bore.
Green Irish Tweed is nice, that much is true, but nice in spectacularly uninteresting way.
Green Irish Tweed is the guy at the bar with the cash in his hand for the bartender to see, but is still ignored.
I can't really say much else as I am feeling tired.

Timeless classic masterpiece 🎩

Not 400$ worthy if you love this fragrance so much just get davidoff cool water
TheTrumbs
You know what? This is nice...$300 nice? Ha - NFW. I get more compliments from the current version of Grey Flannel than I do this. The bottle is really nice though.
Perfumer007
Its a fresh ozonic grassy citric ambroxan scent, with a sandalwood twist this get alot of vielot and galbanum harsh dihydromarcenol overdosedaromachemicals with hydroxycitronellal, it has abit classy dated basic laundery vibe, nothing groundbreaking at all!

Had really high expectations for this one. Smells like a powdery version of Davidoff Cool Water. Not worth the price.
Has_x8
From where do I begin? Is it since how long is the perfume launched or the smell of it or what exactly, I guess will start with how sophisticated the whole perfume from what it gives,
reminds me a little of the smell of the barbershop in the opening with the dry down you smell the iris going strong with the woods something very insane, it will never ever let you down in any occasion you believe that the perfume has launched in 2010??? Never too late to try it I guess
Blind buy and it comes to my top 10! Unfortunately that i didn’t get it before 🥲
Strongly recommend it if your credit is OK with the price because you’ll have to sell your leaver to get it 😂
After update: after using the fragrance several times in different occasions, i feel like you get bored from its smell. You want something more cool and impressive go get Gentleman reserve privee
perfumeduhu
High quality ingredients. However, I barely smell any „green“ in there. You’ll like this if you enjoy all other generic male scents with the same annoying ambroxan heavy „woody fresh“ DNA. You smell like a very expensive boring but masculine shower gel. Not comparable to Iris notes in more „feminine“ (absolutely in a good way) perfumes like Prada Homme (which could also be called boring actually) and Dior Homme
Odor Aeternitatis
One of the most iconic fragrances From Pierre Bourdon and Creed. And an important fragrance in perfumery history. However, Pierre Bourdon created a similar fragrance "Cool Water" a few years later. The two fragrances are very similar in scent but hugely different in the price.
The combination of sandalwood, violet leaf, and citrus note is very common and very successful in fougere masculine fragrances and repeated again and again in many fragrances. It's classic. A good signature scent.

If you like cool water by Davidoff you’ll really really like this. I’m not saying it is cool water, but I definitely get some resemblance. Only differences are that it’s more refined, blended better, and longevity is way longer. Also more mass appealing in my opinion.
Luca Lucarelii
The new 2023 series has improved performance! In the TOP 3 of the best Creed perfumes for sure.
FirstSense
So, Pierre Bourdon is the creator of GIT. And not Olivier Creed. Read the book "The Ghost Perfumer" by Gabe Oppenheim if you wanna know all about Creed. Pierre Bourdon also created Davidoff Cool Water. A masterpiece that still sells in bulk quantities world wide. GIT is Cool Water. Off course there are differences especially in the newer CW formulations. But the old CW batches from the nineties are very, very similar. And I have to say that the GIT performance is good and the juice has more class, and out performs CW. But classic CW last more than 6 hours with moderate application. Do 10 sprays and it lasts all day long. GIT costs at least 250 Euro's for a 100 ml. A Cool Water 125 ml. retails for around 35 Euro's. Need I say more?
LiterallyCan'tStopSniffin
They somehow managed to bottle a rainy forest. It’s so incredibly calming. It’s as if they bottled the phrase ”it’s going to be alright”. Pure pure art. The dry down is the real show stopper and the performance on my F-batch is insanely good.

Dewy. Bright. Powdery. Zesty. Salty. Soapy.
Nostalgia bottled. Yes, you will have smelt this many times before, but for good reason – it's always in season, and probably always will be.
Perfect, or thereabouts.
Mr.GIT
Masterpiece and I love it, the more it sits on my skin the better it gets. I wish it was a bit cheaper but I will keep buy it for me it is worth the extra money because I feel like a king when I have it on me. That people compare GIT to Cool Water is a big no, I mean there are minor similarities in the opening, but GIT just gets better and better in the dry-down.
My nr1 scent all year round day and night :).

I love violet leaf and this def has it but it’s too soapy here with the iris, I prefer vintage parfums 2016 intense which has lots of watery violet leaf without the iris but it’s more sweet which makes it less versatile
JLH76
I didn't realize that a walk in the Irish countryside would smell like detergent 🫧.
Tried test wearing this three times now. Like most citrusy starters they fade fast. What I didn't appreciate till this third test was how soapy the dry down is. Soapy musky wood.
It's definitely a floral musk as listed here. There's nothing particularly green or Irish about it. Seems very overrated.
Spasticink
ridiculously overpriced for what it is, like most of Creed fragrances.

I love Green Irish Tweed. Also since I was wearing Amouage Beach Hut Man I had to do the side by side comparison. Beach Hut Man is more complex than Green Irish Tweed. I believe all the ingredients in the Irish Tweed are also in the Beach Hut Man. Both stand their own ground but if I were choosing one for a formal setting it would be the Green Irish Tweed. Very nice.
Tembacat
Beautiful clean and classic masculine/unisex scent. Would suit just about anyone as an everyday classy scent for any occassion. Versatile. Major downside is the weak longevity, disappearing quickly. It is grotesquely priced for what it is. It's a safe choice scent-wise and very pleasant, but the price makes it a no-go.
Stevie-boy1965
My favourite Creed fragrance...I have an older batch part used 500 ml caraf from around 8 years ago that I imported from France previous to the UK leaving the EU .Beautiful fragrance, the high quality ingredients shine through, very uplifting and only wear on special occasions or when I feel I need to impress, always garners unsolicited compliments from ladies and questions from the guys, easily in my top 5 of all time.
mvkenny70
This is a very nice clean spicy fragrance. There is some nostalgic note to it that smells like the gun that came in a pack of baseball cards.
It's very pleasant and inoffensive, surly good for office and casual environments although I could see this being dressed up as it just smells "put together"
My problem is with longevity and boringness. I'm on my 3rd bottle. I would buy one get bored and sell it, then proceed to miss it and buy another one. Now, I've just decided to keep it in my collection.
Also, it seems to be beast for 20 minutes and either it become a skin scent rather quickly or I go nose blind to it quickly. I do get random whiffs of it about 6 hrs in but not much.
Over all, I really do like it alot, but if I'm reducing my collection to 10 or under I'm not sure if it has a secure place.
monsieur.moustache
The second fragrance I've sampled from this house and the second dud. It's not that it's a bad scent per se, it just lacks distinctiveness and is consequently somewhat pedestrian.

R.diggity
I have tested this on scan twice. The first time it lasted 8 to 10 hours. The second it lasted two. No way I’m trusting these batches. Ended up getting tres nuit. It’s so close for about the first three or four hours. It doesn’t stay as soft and smooth as a skin scent like green Irish tweed. Feels more like a classic, punchy fougere.
If you don’t normally like green fragrances, this is perfect. But if you have 10 or 12 green, barbershop, vetiver fragrances like me, this one really doesn’t have a place that’s not already taken.
superzwerty
For me this one just doesn’t do it.
It’s not unpleasant, but I don’t find myself sniffing it all day.
empi
My wonderful handsome nephew with great taste was wearing this and I said what are you wearing. He said Green Irish Tweed by Creed. I gasped and said wow that is so expensive and he said he felt he wanted a fragrance that made him feel fresh and clean all the time. I couldn’t stop smelling it on him. So being the wonderful person that he is, he brought me a small bottle of it, I am in total love with this fragrance, I feel it is very unisex and perfectly appropriate for a female who loves fragrances. I am very partial to green fragrances. I don’t mind floral and long as they aren’t sweet and contain green notes I cannot handle anything sweet. I’m wearing it now and I feel rich. 🤭😉
tdsmelbourne
Fresh, green & invigorating. Green Irish Tweed will definitely be my daily scent for work during Spring/Summer.
tdsmelbourne
Fresh, green & invigorating. This will definitely become the fragrance I wear to work during spring/summer. 9/10.

If you like bar soap and laundry sheets this is for you. I’m amazed how something so basic is lauded as a masterpiece.
soulfragrances
let me tell you this is the definition of a “green” scent. It is so well blended it’s honestly impressive, none of the notes jab you in your nostrils; it’s just a smooth blend of notes, they all come together as one. well formulated super-green classic fougère feel fragrance. i recommend it!

This is what makes us believe that creativity and imagination are everything. A scent for all occasions.
Kamaldbk
My favourite fragrance from creed house.
It's soapy, aquatic and very fresh and in a very expensive way, i have never seen anyone that disliked green irish tweed, the iris here is completely different than dior homme intense and valentino uomo intense it's not lipsticky at all.
It's awfully priced though, got it at $245 for 100ml at discount and still not happy with that price, i absolutely love that fragrance and i will buy it again and again but i just wish it was priced at $200 or less.

I don't have Green Irish Tweed but I do have both Cool Water and Tres Nuit, so how can they both smell like GIT when neither smells like the other? People are so weird!
sepehrskater
Nah bro chill no way cool water smells like this
Kizzyb93
Okay, so before a review it, I’ve just noticed that it says that this fragrance has been around for 30 odd years! How have I never smelt it before today?
Okay, so will start by saying this does smell similar Davidoff cool water but it’s not exactly the sameat all .I think this one is a lot more natural smelling. And just smells a lot better and better quality. I’m not a big fan of cool water, however, I really like this this is c.w amplified !
Okay, so if I can get away with wearing men’s fragrances, I usually do, but this is one that I definitely cannot pull off. my partner through this to me today and asked if I wanted it because he never wears it.
By all means that does not mean it is a bad fragrance ( just not his vibe of fragrance). I think it’s very high quality and actually quite classy. Maybe would be better suited for guys 40+
es_paradis
Got a 2023 F-batch and for me, this is the only modern Creed that is worth the look. First, the scent: On my skin it opens with green mint, verbena and moss, and then slowly it goes into earthy violet and salty ambergris. Performance is good, but you have to slightly overspray it. Apparently it gets better over time, so I'll let it macerate a bit.
I've had Cool Water before it and I understand the comparison, but CW is less green, more detergent-like and obviously harshly synthetic. A similar profile for less money would be Acqua Di Parma's Colonia Club (not the new C.L.U.B.) which is more barbershopy, but retains the freshness.

Green Irish Tweed is my second favorite Creed of all time and my first ever niche fragrance, so it's a scent very dear and close to my heart. I recently got a fresh 2023 sample and did a side by side comparison with my 2014 bottle:
Opening:
2014: Smooth and green. Lots of iris and some violet leaf, barely any lemon verbena.
2023: First few seconds have an alcohol scent which doesn't exist in 2014 (as expected because of maturation and evaporation of top notes over time). Much more citrusy and fresh with a stronger violet leaf and lemon verbena note.
Heart:
2014: 90% iris, 10% violet leaf
2023: 90% violet leaf, 10% iris
Base:
2014: Rich ambergris and sandalwood with an ever present iris note.
2023: Ambergris clearly gone but sandalwood still surprisingly prominent. Iris has a nice presence too.
Wouldn't be able to tell their difference in the dry down if I wasn't smelling them side by side.
Keywords:
2014: Velvety
2023: Grassy
Summary:
Take 2014 GIT, remove the ambergris, swap the prominence of violet leaf and iris, and you get 2023 GIT. Of all the modern Creed bottles, this one is actually one of the better ones. I'd say it's 90% similar to the vintages, which is incredible considering the complete butchering they put SMW and Millesime Imperial through.

Amazing! Simply amazing. The price is really something you shoudnt be needed to pay to get a fragrance but on this instance the price is allmost suitable.
Although created 1985 this juice is really solid to wear in 2023. Smells like spring day on countryside, but not like old man in a tweed jacket way but sexy fresh kind of way. You can wear this from age 25 and up on my opinion. Anywhere anytime. Club to office and from christmas to summer parties.
If you have money to spend or you can find this like used and cheap then take it. I think every man should have right to have this on their shelves. It is so good!
Frai Grant
I was expecting more from my first spray, after shelling out over 150 euros. I felt a little disappointed to be honest with this very unexciting fragrance that underwhelmed me for the first few days.
However, sticking with it, I started getting wafts of the scent as I moved around and it wasn’t long before my love began for this classic. Whilst I still to this day can’t really put my finger on exactly what stands out for me the most, it just envelopes you exquisitely and has now become the most perfect day time or evening soirée fragrance I have ever owned.
I don’t think you could ever wear this and overpower anyone, as it is not strong in the sense that it doesn’t shoot up your nose or have any sharp or chemical edges. I just feel it gives me and anyone close to me a gentle hug and a feeling of warmth.
Masculine certainly but only for men who know they have it together. You’re not shouting out to anyone wearing this because you don’t need to. It seems to ooze class, with a timeless ‘je ne sais quoi’ and whilst not cheap it should mean there wont be many others around smelling quite as good as you do.
DawnBreaker
Wasn't expecting much from my recent F batch decant, but dang this is great. Really heavy on the salty ambergris like back in the 120ml bottle days. Nice scent bubble. Makes me feel like a million bucks. The legend continues...

Cool water on STEROIDS. Love it!
itsanrnotau
I have a soft spot for davidoff cool water and I only bought this after hearing this is what cool water is based upon. At first, I was disappointed and I actually prefered cool water (i know.)
The more I used it and appreciated it for something unique, I realised I don't own anything near as "fresh" smelling as this - it smells like rain. It's incredibly inoffensive and versitile. I've almost ran out of my 30ml I got a few years ago, and although I have half a bottle of cool water still, I might have to get a 75ml of G.I.T
DapperDon
Initially I picked Chez Bond as being better. Months later I’m here to set the record straight-
GIT opens fresher & has kind of a mild sweet verbena nestled right under the Irish ☘️ Spring soapy smell 🤤. The violet helps give the fragrance a more airy feeling like being in a meadow on a sunny day. Iris brings a noticeable sophistication to the composition. Ambergris contains a subtle sweetness along with that Creed dry down. I personally don’t detect Sandalwood thank goodness.
Chez Bond is significantly stronger with no true balance to offset the pungency. One drop radiates off me like shit 💩 in the back seat of a car 😷.
So.. as we all know, the nose is constantly changing. Adapting to newer smells.
I can now say that GIT has taken the throne & reigns supreme👑
Edit: if money is an issue, Speed Stick has a Irish Springs deodorant that is strong & smells, hell.. like Irish ☘️ soap
nonscents1
I'm not seeing (smelling?) the Cool Water comparisons. I like Cool Water as a gym bag cologne. It is fresh marine/aquatic and short lasting. Green Irish Tweed is a natural smelling long lasting citrus/grass cologne in a whole different league. Absolute perfection. If the price is an impediment (and it is overpriced) maybe try Cool Water Intense which smells quite different from Cool Water but is more complex and longer lasting.

FORE! 🏌️♂️
Smells like a good day at a golf course. Whoever’s wearing this has a lot of time and money on their hands. Very earthy, grassy, relaxed lemon mixer. Not synthetic like most others. Iris is very balanced. This is a classic and unique scent that’s a mildly challenging wear. I could see buying a bottle if you have a lot of expensive fun.

Easily one of the best if not the best spring fragrance ever made 🙏🙏🗣🗣💯💯❗️❗️❗️

Hello all, I just received my bottle of GIT. I am trying to research my batch code but can't find it anywhere. Can anyone share some light on this? First creed purchase but I am wondering why I can't seem to find it. Thanks Lot: L3222801A

citrusy, green with notable violet leaf. So clean, versatile and classy. It has a nostalgic vibe but it is not dated at all. Amazing classic and signature scent worthy.
hellogoddag
Fantastic.
Opening is similar to Cool Water (which I love) but Green Irish Tweed is greener, more mature and less bubble gumy.
The drydown of GIT is unique and one of the best I´ve ever come across. Soft, mild, elegant. Natural beauty.

I have both the new formulation in a 100ml bottle and a 2015 120ml bottle and thought some of you lurking may appreciate a comparison so you know if the older one is worth spending twice the $$$ on.
The new formulation is lighter and feels more flat, but it's still a great scent and one of the few currently offered by Creed worth its MSRP. Citrusy notes from the verbena are more prominent in the new formulation and the first 30 minutes are full of them - very natural smelling, like snapping a blade of citrusy grass and sticking it in your nose, along with some fresh iris. Then the violet leaf comes out and it's drop dead gorgeous. It smells similar to Lalique's Hommage, but better, mixed in with the other notes. Ambergris? No, really well disguised ambroxan, but it's not real ambergris. Doesn't have the rounded saltiness of the real thing. Sandalwood comes out after some time and it's nice, a bit darker than the one used in Original Santal. But it's just a hint of it, nothing too prominent.
The old formulation is heavier from the start, the verbena is toned down and you get an earthier vibe I couldn't find anywhere else, really great. I'm not sure this is real ambergris either, but if it isn't they've managed to hide it so well I can't tell. I have a small bottle of real ambergris tincture and this is 95%+ close, so it's possible it is real ambergris. The juice feels 50% more concentrated than the new formulation, watering their scents down is something Creed started doing without asking anybody and we all just nodded along and kept throwing money at them (so why wouldn't they?). The violet leaf here compared to the new formulation is less violet, more leaf. It's the same note for sure, but greener (I'd say 1:2 violet:leaf, whereas the new formulation is 2:1 violet:leaf). There's a thickness to this perfume the new formulation doesn't have, like sticking your hand in freshly dug out wet soil after rain. The new formulation is airier and lighter, the olfactory density of this is like honey compared to water. The vibe of this older formulation is definitely darker, more mature.
The new formulation is like an Aston Martin, classy, but still focused on being sporty. The older one is like a pre-VW Bentley, just pure luxury. Slower, heavier, smoother ride. More leather too. I'd say the new you can easily wear in your 20s, as long as you're not a college student who only eats ramen. The new formulation is made for a sunny but still cold day in the early spring. The older one, definitely 30+. Early autumn after rain. If you're a serious collector and a) you like Creed and b) you'd rate GIT at at least 9/10, I'd say both are worth owning. If you're not seriously in love with this but you want a bottle, the new formulation is perfectly fine, both are long-lasting, well projecting high quality scents.
Wizebag
There’s a lot of talk about GIT vs Cool Water.
I will clear this up by drawing a music analogy, as the art of sound is often mirrored by the art of scent.
They are both playing the same song (“Greensleeves”, perhaps?) But, while CW is a rudimentary performance by a middle-schooler on a Casio keyboard, GIT is being performed by a world-class pianist on a Steinway grand in a concert hall.
The “notes” (iris, verbena etc) are the same, but there is more clarity, depth, nuance, dynamics, and projection in the GIT. It is obviously a higher quality, and the notes resonate together in harmonic bliss. The CW version is unmoving and linear, while GIT will have you escape to another dimension; especially in the opening.
So does it smell like Cool Water (or vice-versa)? It does. Does it therefore have the same emotional appeal? No.
For those reviewers going on about how “The world has moved past this 80’s smell blablabla..It's dated...." Has the world moved on from Mozart? Bach? No, that's why it's "classical".
What’s good is good. The only question is, “Can you pull it off?”

Here's what pisses me off about Creed: all their awful gimmicks.
1) The claim that it's a family perfumery, and that all the perfumes are composed by the Creed's: FALSE.
This one for instance, was actually composed by the great Pierre Bourdon, who would go on to compose Cool Water, which this strongly resembles.
Of course, he remains uncredited.
2) The pretense that all of their fragrances contain the most exquisite, hand picked materials: FALSE.
Though good, Green Irish Tweed is clearly composed mostly of synthetic ingredients like white musks, dihydromyrcenol, ambroxan, octyn esters, and so on.
Their claim to pure unfettered luxury is thus embarassing and ridiculous.
3) The claim that these fragrances are hundreds of years old and that they were worn by princes and princesses: FALSE.
Most of the materials in Green Irish Tweed didn't even exist 100 years ago.
Hence, the vainglorious pretentiousness of the Creed line spoils the fun of their few good perfumes (case in point: Green Irish Tweed).
Creed should stop all the pointless costume dress nonsense and start crediting their perfumers, making new interesting fragrances, and using more natural ingredients. Period.

When I die, I don't want a fancy funeral, but I do want someone to empty a whole bottle of this into my coffin, because this is the best damn thing I've ever smelled. It smells like angel farts. It's like a vacation in a bottle. It's on the short list of things to grab if my house is on fire. I want to spray directly up my nose onto my brain so I can smell it all the time.

A purple and green dream, that goes way beyond Ireland and soars for the stratosphere.
A timeless feeling of sweet and beguiling masculinity is created upon each deep Inhalation.
The price is obscene, but the feeling of well-being that it brings me is priceless.
Green Irish Tweed helps old ladies cross the road, buys their shopping, and makes them a nice cup of tea.
He gives children a high five, makes them feel cool, and keeps them laughing all day.
He gives the cynics a welcome hug.
He gives the gangster a shoulder to cry on.
He gives the politician a dose of reality.
He shows the unwanted some love.
He puts everything in its right place.
Ky1227
Green Irish Tweed has proven itself to be one of the most timeless fragrances ever created. Everything about this perfume is just fantastic. At the top, we get an invigorating blast of fresh, clean, green, and subtle spicy notes. These top notes will continue into the mid, but you will also start picking up on some wonderful floral notes that soften up at the base with some nice woody and powdery accords. There is also something musky, possibly the ambergris, that makes this lean masculine, though women could pull it off.
Green Irish Tweed has a nostalgic vibe, but never smells dated or overly mature. It smells classic, but not necesarily barbershop or old-school forgere-like. It’s hard to pin-down, but there is something so wonderfully gentleman and polished about this. I think is best suited ages 18 and up so most could pull it off.
As for occasion, this is incredibly versatile. I think it works best on spring days, but there is not a time or season when this cannot be worn. Perfect for work and casual day-time wear, but I wear this on nights out as well.
One area where GIT shines is performance. I can spray this on before work at the 7am, and it will be there until at least 4 pm guaranteed. Projects very well for at least 4 hours so expect compliments.
Another thing worth mentioning about GIT, or any Creed Fragrance for that matter, is the price. This stuff is not cheap, especially if bought from an official Creed retailer. If you don’t want to spend that much money, there are definitely alternatives. The best alternative would be Armafs Tres Nuit, they are VERY close. Many also swear that this is similar to Davidoffs Cool Water. I always thought there were many differences, but they do share something in common.
Overall, Green Irish Tweed by Creed earns an easy 10 out of 10

I am ready to be thrown in the fire, but I went to a fragrance store back in October in San Antonio. I saw they had all the Creed fragrances, and I was like "FINALLY, I GET TO SMELL THESE LEGENDARY BEASTS!" Well, GIT was among them, I sprayed it on a tester strip, and my wrist...and man...I just don't see how this is so iconic. It smelled like a fresh cut yard to me, and that was that. I mean, it definitely didn't smell synthetic of anything, but it wasn't something I could see being enjoyable to wear. It made an impression on me, but only because I was so excited to finally get to smell this, and ended up being extremely let down.

VERY Poor quality since 2020 when Creed was sold to the Black Rock hedge fund who has no clue about fragrances, BUT does know how to dilute and cheapen formulas to INCREASE profits!
Black Rock is also scamming people to invest in ESG (environmental Social Governance!)
So many other fragrances to buy that leaves Creed in a vapor of dust!

The magic of this fragrance is in the opening. it's very 3D-like and it takes you to a journey. It takes you to an irish country side that just rained. Wet, grassy, and added lemon verbena note and rounded with a touch of iris, absolutely stunning opening(very masculine as well).
OPENING 10/10
After 4 hours, you get to the mid-, where you start to get a beautiful combination of sandalwood, violet leaf, and ambergris, that is just gorgeous. Now, here is where it starts to smell similar to davidoff cool water. I would say with 60% similarity. For sure, most noses will be able tell the difference quite easily due to the difference in the formula and the quality of the ingredients.
MID: 9/10
After 7-8 hours, you start getting into to the dry down, now, here is where it starts to smell really close to davidoff cool water with approximately 80% similarity. When the fragrance is in the air there is almost no difference, however, if you dig your nose to where you sprayed it, you will smell the difference in the quality of the ingredients. Green Irish Tweed has more pronounced notes whilst david-off cool water's more blurry. (Like you watch a movie in 1080p-Green Irish Tweed and 360p-Davidoff Cool Water)
DRY-DOWN 9/10
All in all, an incredible fragrance that is worth all the hype it gets, very versatile(Spring/Summer/Fall-can be), and masculine.
Personally 10/10 :)
Subjectively 9.3/10

I just got a 5ml sample of this... And yeah it just smells like my memory of Cool Water. It's been a while since I smelled that stuff, but I'm pretty sure this is exactly what is smelled like. Basically, this smells like the 90s. I'm sure it was probably very special when it first came out, it's clearly a classic, but for 2021 it's a pass from me. Way too expensive anyway, at least Cool Water is cheap.

What can I say about GIT that hasn't been said already? Green Irish Tweed and Cool Water are fraternal brothers. Not identical, but very similar. The biggest difference; $174 vs. $38. If you don't have lots of money to throw around, buy Cool Water and tell people it's Green Irish Tweed, because the average Joe (or Josephine) won't be able to tell the difference.
