Cool Water Davidoff for men

If you want a good aquatic fragrance for a good price this is it. It lasts around 7 hours on my skin and projection is ok. The smell is good i would give it a 7.5/10

They reformulated it and "Look how they massacred my boy". Bought a bottle after more than a decade and it was a total let down. Its opening was very bad but it does have a better dry drown. Overall it smells too salty and minty and that too in a bad way. I remember it being a bit sweeter in the past. Its longevity and projection also feel very weak. Its scent itself feels very watered down. Even my dad used to wear cool water since it came out and so did I when I was a teenager. If you are looking for that iconic smell and maybe performance, try finding a vintage bottle.

Eua de Bozzano Intense, but I like it.
A good scent for conveying freshness, cleanliness, and presence in the heat, but hard to dissociate from shaving cream. It's difficult to judge its merits in a version almost four decades later.

I have this fragrance for almost a year now, and I really did not understand it at first as it completely disappears in less than an hour, dont get me wrong the smell is really nice and classic but it just did not perform for me as I only wore it in a couple of situations with 5-7 sprays and the performance was a huge disappointment.

Fast forwarding to yesterday I woke up and saw that the weather was extremely hot around 100f/38c and I saw the bottle just sitting there almost full, so I just grabbed it and sprayed a lot, about 20 sprays more or less on skin and clothes hoping to fully understand the positive reviews about this fragrance and how can people really like a fragrance that disappears instantly! while at work it completely shocked me, the smell was really pushing off of me the whole day and it was really really pleasant, the dry down which was extremely weak in my previous experiences was really strong and noticeable and got me a couple of complements.

After my experience from yesterday I just wanted to share this with everyone who sees this fragrance as a disappointment, spray A LOT and only wear this in high heat situations otherwise it will not perform.

smells like detergent unfortunately

Cool Water is a classic. Fell in love with it during 90s high school days and I still use it to this date. I have a good collection of the vintage Lancaster Edition ones. To my nose the vintage stuff goes up against Green Irish Tweed, it's not identical but Cool Water has it's own twist on that DNA. To my nose I prefer Cool Water over GIT, I think the violet note in GIT kills it for me.

Cool Water by Davidoff:
Slightly dated, but good for spring and summer. Its a fresh green/marine scent with floral undertones. On me it doesn't last or project but its affordable and isn't offensive if oversprayed. It does smell nice but I think there are better alternatives for the price.

Not bad but old dated, you will smell like

I spend a lot of time on fragrantica reading other reviews and people with a lot of experience hold this in their top 5. Even the niche community. No other cheap fragrance holds a spot in their collection but this. Is that saying something

Cool Water really does smell like the ocean, but not in a salty, by-the-beach way; the raw, natural, earthy/green type of ocean. Might be off-putting the very first time you smell it but it's a nice scent that delivers beyond what one would expect for the price. Never blind buy in general, but this is a rare exception where it's ok. It's very different from colognes popular today but nonetheless holds its own.

I got this as a gift when I was a teen one of my first fragrances, loved the smell then and still do now will always wear it around Summer.

Very fresh, aquatic, and masculine. Very budget friendly and a timeless fragrance.

Fresh and masculine! An aquatic bold fragrance that opens rather harsh and synthetic but dries down into a warmer gentlemanly green/aquatic vibe. Due to its popularity it started to get copied by cleaning products and I think that's what makes me incapable of wearing this one, it reminds me of an air freshener that my mother uses. None the less, I think it's a great proposition specially considering it's price and you should definitely wear it if you like it. Has good longevity and sillage, around 6 hour for me, and concerning the overly chemical smell, just know that it smells much better in the air and others won't get that.

SEXY! fresh and masculine Im in love with this scent!

As the hot summer has already begun, this fragrance reminds me of the good old days in summer when I used to travel to the provincial capital to spend the summer holidays with my parents, away from the mundane school life of our rural town. Trying to sleep on a humid and warm night, while skimming through television channels and watching blockbuster movies from the 80s that were illegally aired by local television stations. Nostalgia!

Reminds me of high school, Cool Water was everywhere. In fact I blind bought this and just like the Manchurian Candidate, it instantly transported me back to a late 90s/early 2000s locker room - could practically see the faux gold mall kiosk neckchains. Yeah it's synthetic and cheap on the opening, longetivity is like 3-4 hours max with average projection. But once the initial minty harshness settles down, its just a clean smelling, slightly salty aquatic with heavy Irish Spring vibes. Totally fine. It's good in warm weather and I've been banging it around the house a lot lately.

Up close, Harrison Ford looks grumpier than he does on film. That is especially true when he is in full Indiana Jones regalia and nestled in a pile of his own poop.

It was 1983 and I had just landed my dream gig. As assistant custodian for "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom," it was my sworn duty to keep the set of the future blockbuster tidy.

While Short Round occasionally urinated in Harrison's fedora, we were mostly left to search for things to mop up. That changed on the afternoon of July 16, 1983.

Harrison had just filmed the scene where Indy is sexually humiliated by a ruthless tribesman. Exhausted and still in costume, he limped over to the on-set outhouses. The first one was occupied. So was the second. And the third...

"What's a man gotta do to dump his cheese around here?!" he yelled.

Harrison threw his fedora to the ground, yanked off his belt, and dropped his pants. The bottom of his white shirt offered some modesty. Crew members gasped.

To lighten the mood, audio techs blared the Indiana Jones theme music across the set. Harrison cracked that Indy smile we all love. His fist clenched. Then a continuous tube of moist poop slid out of his backside.

"That looks like a snake. I hate snakes!" he shouted, turning his head to admire his output.

Harrison's poop was so long that it coiled on itself. Soon the spiral was waist high and his feet lifted off the ground. He sunk comfortably into the soft mound.

"Da-da-da-da, da-dada. Da-da-da-daa, da-dada-da-daa," he sung, snickering to himself in silence.

Behind me, I heard a child's cry. It was Short Round.

"I'm scared of Doctor Jones," he whispered.

Before I could console him, Harrison grabbed a megaphone and aimed it at the crowd.

"What's the lesson today?! When Indiana Jones is ready to drop dough, CLEAR THE DAMN OUTHOUSES!"

Harrison was now a medieval king, pantsless and ruling over his people from a steaming throne he grunted into existence.

It was my job to remove the throne. All I can say is that it smelled a lot better than "Cool Water."

Smell is amazing, sure it's old but it reminds me of my father which makes this scent something I love smelling anytime. I would describe it as a mint lavender explosion mixed with aquatics making it such a refreshing summer fragrance. Sadly the performance sucks but the price makes this a must in everybody's collection. 6.3/10

opening smells like a refreshing ocean breeze, dry down smells strange (still better than nothing), incredibly synthetic, it is cheap though.

Smells like ultra synthetic harshness on me, even more so than Tres Nuit which is impressive to say the least, and it doesn't even perform half as well. Not even worth it at a half price discount.

Wish it had longevity, I wear it all the time.

Such a classic, this fragrance. IMO this stuff needs replenishment always in a collection. The initial blast of nostalgia that it hits is just worth it. Yes the performance and potency isn't the same anymore, but for the price that this can be had, an absolute no brainer classic scent DNA that I really adore, truly stood the test of time, this one. And it's for good reason that it's still a bestseller from the brand despite it being almost three decades since its initial release!

Ok that's enough...being trying to find the 1990 mojo on this stuff, looking at various bottle sizes, scripts and fonts, everyone has a theory, etc...lets face it, it's gone. Not coming back. Whatever is in that bottle now is NOT the same and I'm officially done trying to find it, it's not worth it.

I have several 100 and 200 ml bottles that are 99% full if anyone wants them...I'll just leave them by the curb, free to a good home.

Coolwater, the cheap classic that screams 'I may not drive a sports car, but my mom thinks I'm cool.' Its scent lingers longer than my last relationship, which isn't saying something. Look for something that has a similar vibe to GIT and for 1/20th the price, this ain’t bad

Why would you not have this in your collection? It's fresh, clean and non-offensive. Perfect for a night out or a summer's day. Spray it liberally out of the shower, especially around your neck and warm parts of the body. The best part is that you can get a large bottle in the $30 range.

This an aquatic fresh aromatic masterpiece, you can hate on it all you want "everyone's dad wears it" okay and you should too. Perfect for the gym, school, work AMAZING for summer and a timeless classic. I own a 75ml batch code3146 and a 200ml batch code1556934108. Both last a long time and both projection and sillage are incredible

While the scent is nostalgic, Fresh & Ozonic; the performance on these batches coming out over the past few years is abysmal; and downright shameful. Bought a 200 ml in April 2023; batch code 2340 (December 2022). The performance was a joke when I used it a couple of times between April and June as a Gym, outdoor morning walk scent. Kept it away in the box in my fragrance cabinet to macerate. Fast forward to May 2024; sprayed it 10 times on skin and clothes; on a 15 degree celcius cloudy afternoon. I could barely smell it on me 10 minutes later, thought I went nose blind; but nope, 3 people with me could barely smell it, unless they dug their noses in my shirt or neck. 2 hours later, and I tried sniffing my shirt and I can barely smell it.

While the scent still evokes the sense of being on a beach, or overlooking the ocean on a stormy day, or hiking the mountains in the autumn/spring; the performance is horrible and it will stop me from ever buying Cool Water again.

Green. Soap. Probably not the most exciting thing to smell on a person, but its a good cheap perfume to quickly throw on that isn't horrid or synthetic

I have both CW and Tres Nuit and neither smells like the other.

That being said, if you have to read reviews in deciding whether to get this or not, then you probably either live under a rock or you also need reviews for dish detergents and soaps.

If you just need a day scent for running errands and smelling fresh this should be your go to.. Davidoff Cool Water is a classic fragrance. With its aquatic and aromatic notes, it's perfect for everyday wear, especially during the warmer months. The blend of lavender, mint, and coriander creates a refreshing scent. Too bad it doesn’t last long so only use it if you can re spray every couple hours.. or go for intense Edp !!

Thought it smelled sorta gross for a while but is not bad at all now that I think about it, super clean Irish spring vibes. Smells like a classic, very deep, well rounded scent. Will honestly work well all year around. Would be pleasantly surprised if I smelled on someone else. 7.6/10.

Cheap, nauseating and synthetic

Clean mint and lavender with a tinge of Irish Spring - reminiscent of aftershave. Very clean and gentlemanly; this is a more “complete” and grown-up blue, and smells more "believable" as a scent than modern renditions in the blue genre. This is a scent you would realistically smell somewhere in the world, which cannot be said for most modern-day perfumery. Recommended for under $40.

EDIT: After wearing for over two months, my nose slowly but surely started perceiving this scent rather differently - there is an overpowering effervescence in the opening that is nauseating, but it is possible my bottle developed this quality as time passed. Cool Water is still clean and classy, however will not be repurchasing. Will continue use as a gym fragrance.

I like aquatic scents but this reminds me more of the green growing on the side of the dock.

This is my go to scent. I wear it anytime I want day or night. It is fresh and clean and will never offend anyone. Best part is that you can pick up a big bottle online or at Sam's Club for the $35 range.

The best introduction into blue fragrances. Especially all the new flankers CoolWater got which surprised me. Nothing special however, It's okay but better than the rest in its price range, unless one of the clone houses made something I'm not aware of. There's a comment under me that says it smells like shower gel, it's true lol. But shower gel is not bad! I use this cologne to preserve fragrances I like more. However I would skip this one and check out their latest flankers. CoolWater Night dive has my interest. However, I wouldn't spend more than $25 bucks on this

This is compared to Green Irish Tweed by Creed and I have to say they are fairly similar,not identical but in the same ball park,at the start they are nothing alike as Davidoff is very chemical smelling and almost makes me sick,where G.I.T. Is so smooth and luxurious that it had me thinking there is no way Davidoff is anything like this,but after about 30 or so minutes Davidoff dries down into something that is definitely similar to GIT,you can certainly tell who’s who but at 10 times less the price Davidoff will do me just fine,I really enjoy this scent and my wife loves it too so it’s a win for me,make sure that if you sample it get them to spray it on your skin and wait 30 minutes before giving your final answer on whether or not you like it

If you like Lavender, then this is a no brainer. A timeless classic. I rotate this into my gym scents and rock it around the house as well. I thought I would get bored of this or feel like it's a cheapy that doesn't deserve my attention, but I keep finding myself using it more than I thought. Can't go wrong with this freshy. Easy blind buy.

A soft, fresh, mature, well aged old school aquatic fragrance. I personally like wearing this more on damped rainy days than I do on warmer sunny days. It perform better in my opinion. Especially when you walk pass someone with a light breeze.

The longevity is weak. I usually layer this specific cologne with essential oil that is inspired by the fragrance itself to get the longevity that I truly desire.

So i got this fragrance (40ml/16 euros) in 2024 as a 17yr old here are my thoughts. This is the most Out of the shower scent ive ever smelled, it kinda smells like a really expensive Shower Gel and the 30m-1h dry-down gets drier but slightly more balanced smelling, Fresh is the perfect word to describe this Scent. And especially for the price its phenomenal. i have a friend that's really into sweet vanilla fragrances and everything ive showed her from my fresh(ish) collection she said that they small alright. This one tho she really enjoyed 2-3 Hours into the dry-down. and i was pleasantly suprised! so for this summer this is going to be my signature scent untill the bottle runs out. 8.5/10 for me

Time to review another throwback classic fragrance. On the podium today; Davidoff's Cool Water. When talking about what everyone was wearing in the 80's and early 90's, Cool Water is a strong contender up there with Fahrenheit and Drakkar Noir. While the "bad boys" were wearing Fahrenheit and DN, the white collar workers were wearing Cool Water. Or something like that, I don't know. I was born the year this was launched, cut me some slack. Anyway, here we go with the review;

Scent:
Opening is aquatic, green, and aromatic. The primary notes I get are sea notes, green notes, lavender, and mint. The strongest of the notes are the sea notes and mint. The sea notes are your typical oceanic/watery notes, invoking a sense of being on or near the ocean. The mint note is cool and refreshing, almost tingling to the nose. It works with the sea notes in a way that I haven't experienced before and is very complimentary. This is followed by the lavender and green notes. The green notes add a sharp and noticeable grassiness to the already green accord presented by the mint, while the lavender provides its familiar aromatic and floral note in the background. Dry down is aromatic, green, and woody. The primary notes I get are green notes, lavender, oakmoss, and cedar. The strongest of the notes are the green notes and cedar. The green notes carry the same accord from the opening, just subdued. The cedar has come through in a very fresh, woody manner; almost like new wooden furniture. This is followed by the lavender and oakmoss. The lavender is still giving off the floral and aromatic accord while the oakmoss brings an earthiness and adds to the woodiness.

Performance:
Initial projection is moderate to strong at around 3 feet. Sillage matches that intensity with a noticeable but not overwhelming scent trail. Unfortunately the fragrance was a skin scent by the 3 hour mark, so I had to re-apply to get the full effect again.

When to wear:
This is a spring/summer fragrance most suited for daytime wear. It would also be a suitable pick for the office. You could wear it on a date as well, but it wouldn't fit quite as good as something darker.

Blind buy:
If you like Creed's Green Irish Tweed, or similarly green and aromatic fragrances, this is a safe blind buy for you. Just keep in mind you will need to re-apply.

Final verdict:
This is a classic, great smelling men's fragrance that is regrettably marred by performance issues. To be honest my expectations were pretty low for a $20 fragrance, but I was hoping I would get more than a few hours out of it. In any case, if you're looking for something quintessentially 80's that you don't mind re-applying throughout the day, Cool Water will get you there. Just manage your expectations accordingly.

Smells like cheap cologne to most people. This frag has been in Marshalls, Ross, Burlington for $10-20 for decades. Without sounding too pretentious, it's a scent I correlate with poverty and poor taste having grown up in a poorer household around low income families.

My partner's everyday fragrance - he's a fastidiously clean man. Brushes and flosses twice a day, washes his hands before eating and after coming into the house, showers diligently. This is him, unmistakably masculine, blue, and shower-fresh clean.

I smelled this for the first time in 2023 and was teleported back to what a 1990s men’s bathroom after a shower would smell like. It cost me 20 bucks and the bottle is stupid large.

If you want to have 1 or two fragrances, you don't want to get into the hobby of it, 100% get this. Cheap fresh scent that is not in your face, but very noticeable. Can smell like chlorine to some and is by far not the best summer scent but still a solid pick 7/10

I got this fragrance in the winter and its still not summer it has really bad preformance for me i think its because of the cold weather but the smell is amazing very underrated smell if only it had good preformance it would be a 10/10 now because of its bad preformance its a 6 or a 7

If you're a collector, it's hard not to have this in your collection. A piece of history. Pleasant cooling effect when spraying it on. Definitely gives you the dad vibe on the dry down. Still fresh and clean and office friendly during the spring, summer and fall.

I feel like this fragrance could be due for a renaissance in the next decade or two...

I smelled it for the first time in 2020, but could immediately identify it as being similar if not nearly exact to the cheap drugstore aftershaves and body washes of the 2000s when I was a kid. Seeing as this from 1988, I assume those were actually intended to capture the innovation this must have been at the time, going for a slightly salty sea water approach to freshness. If you've smelled the standard Irish Spring body wash, then you'll be familiar with this.

I've read that the classic Dove soap bar and similar basic women's soaps were meant to smell like Chanel No.5, so it makes sense that a popular fragrance would be copied to capture what the masses enjoy.

However, both Cool Water and No.5 feel very dated to my nose - even though I wasn't alive when they were in their prime, the waning popularity of them were still felt in the 2000s when those were the two standard "men" and "women" scents you could find in the most affordable (and thus cheap feeling) products.

Though I've noticed since the mid-2010s and onwards, the options for the standard scented body washes and deodorants have been changing. Now there are a lot more ambroxan-adjacent and fruity-floral-vanilla scents to fill the space.

I think this leaves enough breathing room for the two fragrances to be forgotten (for now), and will allow for them to have a well deserved break. That way, they can begin to feel almost new to people who aren't surrounded by them all the time through other everyday products, and a sense of nostalgia for those of us who are familiar these.

On its own, Davidoff Cool Water is a refreshing take on salty cool sea water. But for now it's scent has just been too overused in the world for me to fully appreciate it. I assume once we are all sick and tired of Dior's Sauvage, this one will start to shine again and feel refreshed.

An amazing summer fragrance. This smells like a beach with large waves. This scent is the definition of ”clean”.

A great standard cologne for any man who isn't sure what to get. Professional and slightly tropical, like you're at a beautiful beach location but for a business trip. Fresh and reliable for any situation and the scent is very clear. I bought this for my boyfriend and I personally don't like mint but he does so I know he's going to love it

This is a nice fragrance for the price , It's pretty synthetic but smells uplifting and fresh like some aquatic soap , I personally like it but it might be a bit too much for some people , The main notes i pick up are the mint , Rosemary , and sea notes.

Longevity/Projection : 6.5/10 , Used to be stronger but reformulations have made it a bit weaker , Although it still remains above average for fresh summer fragrances , on my skin i get around 5-6 hours , But it projects heavily during the first hour , You're gonna get around 3 feet for the first hour , Then arm's length for the next hour , and then it becomes a scent bubble for the remaining 3 or so hours.

Price : 9/10 , Quality isn't the best , but when you can find a 200ml bottle for 25$ theres not really much to complain about

An amazing scent for the summer. Smells a lot like mens care products, such as shaving gel, hairspray and the barbershop! Super aquatic and fresh, awesome for a blazing hot summer day! Be careful spraying though, I find this fragrance to be quite sharp!

To my nostrils this fragrance this fragrance kind of smells like assensial oils and I think this cologne isn't very smooth its very sharp and I think this is a good beginner cologne and my mom loves this

Perfect beginner fragrance for a lot of people born in the 80s and 90s like myself. This was my first scent I used growing up and my dad LOVED to get me the Christmas gift sets of this with the aftershave and shower gel. I would still wear it, but I'm eager to try the other iterations of this classic. Fresh, aquatic, and cool

Cool Water has a soft, silky, super soft core. It's puffy, powdery, comforting. The core is adorned by fresh, vivid, and zingy aromatics and a tiny bouquet of flowers to top off the aromatics, like a cherry on top of a mound of whipped cream on top of a cake. That might already be a nice fougère perfume, but Cool Water uses *that* to embellish an unctious, thick base of water.

To my nose, then, the water accord (water+calone+"green") is adorned by the core of musk and wood, which also builds off of the calone; the core is adorned by mint and rosemary as aromatics; and the aromatics are topped off with lavender+floral accents, of which geranium helps bind to the aromatics.The water smell is very strong throughout, especially in the first few minutes, but it's always willing to share the spotlight.

I understand why not everyone will enjoy the way this concept is executed, since it's salty and some notes can clash a little with the smell of water/calone. I also see how it could smell like a shower or a swimming pool locker room, but I don't find that unpleasant myself.

Not the most beautiful perfume out there, but the quality of the smell is solid, it's easy to wear, reapplication-friendly, and has a good price point. Pretty gender-neutral, but it definitely leans masculine.

I hv been wearing it since day one & there are of course better ones. But it's price tag offers me freedom to spray it crazily at will (I am with 15 sprays now). Nostalgic factor is as strong as L'eau D'Issey

It may be nostalgia because Ive been wearing this as my signature scent for the last 6 years but its truly amazing. Its smells very Clean to me. Aquatic/Blue which gives it a shower gel smell to my nose. I was surprised this wasn't highly rated on Fragrantica and I see a lot of fragrance YouTubers not like Coolwater much.

But this fragrance has gotten me so many compliments! The two craziest stories I have are when a girl asked me what i was wearing and I pulled out the bottle of CW. She sprayed herself like 30 times. And kept asking me for it everyday for the rest of my freshmen year. And During my first week of college, I walked past a group of girls and one of them ran back to me and smelled my neck like a weirdo. My girlfriend even bought a bottle because she loves it so much.

Easy 9/10, Smells amazing just doesn't last that long. All my compliments come within the first hour to 30 minutes. But it’s cheap so I just overspray and get about 5+ hours. Will continue to rebuy forever!

Cool Water is a stone cold classic for a reason. This is the scent equivalent of putting on a perfectly fitting pair of blue jeans and a brand new white tshirt after a really good shower. So fresh and so clean. Well balanced marine, aromatic and green notes that last beautifully. I love when my man wears this.

Cool water is a fresh scent and it smells amazing. I used to wear it back in the 90's when I was in my early 20's. So, the young crowd can wear it now. There are many trends and different kind of fragrances now the day, however, this fragrance still smells amazing. I used to wear it a lot and for many years. I am experiencing other things now, new and old. But if you are not familiar with cool water, I think you should try it, you will enjoy it.

I love the old-school all-time classics when it comes to fragrances. This and Green Irish Tweed are both right in my wheelhouse, and frequent go-to's for me. I basically look at Cool Water as the EDT version of Green Irish Tweed (an EDP). That's pretty much exactly what it is – a tad lighter with a bit less depth and richness than GIT, but a very similar overall scent. Perfect for T-shirt weather, the gym, or active outdoor stuff... super fresh but not ridiculously sweet like so many modern freshies... and it has good longevity. A fantastic, classic scent that's also super affordable. Sadly underrated on Fragrantica.

SIDE NOTE -- I do like Green Irish Tweed a fair bit more than this. One thing about Cool Water... at times I notice an almost dill-like note. GIT is smoother and higher quality without question. But for that classic blue jeans and white T-shirt vibe, Cool Water is right on.

Cheap, straightforward, generically pleasing. Does exactly what it says on the tin, so why would it need to do otherwise? There's a reason this fragrance has been around so long. The definition of a summer freshie.

This may be blasphemy to many but I’ve just tried layering a fragrance for the first time. Qaed Al Fursan which is a pineapple cheapie from Lattafa. Coolwater with pineapple added. The result is🔥will definitely rock this combo come summer!

One of my favourite scents, very affordable and iconic. Has multiple notes and accords which make it complex and is rated as best marine perfumes over most of the scents which cost triple the price! Suits every occasion and you can never go wrong with it. 9/10 perfume because it doesn't last too long as it is an EDT after all

Back then when it was new, it was the epithomy of see frags. Today at least to me, it feels very outdated. I never tried any of the thousands flankers that are maybe more up to date. I bought this one as a reminder of my early times experimenting fragrances, and because my wife still likes it, but I rarely use it in fact.

I bought this perfume for the first time in over 20 years. I loved its smell on my late brother and would buy it for him Duty Free when I went overseas. It always smelled fresh and clean on him and when I tried it, I kept promising myself I would buy my own bottle but never got around to it. Now my brother is no longer with us (he died suddenly in his mid thirties) I want to keep to my promise and so this morning I purchased a bottle. I am not sure what kind of thoughts I will have but I’m sure thoughts of my sibling will probably come flooding back as they always do when I see The Simpson’s, Alan Partridge, hear classic hit songs that came out when he was born and other special times.

I bought Cool Water for me reminding myself of when it first came out and when both women and men were wearing it. I remember when the female version of this came out and being given a bottle when I asked for Cool Water for Christmas. It was nice but it didn’t really work in the same way this one did. This was fresh, airy and something I could wear on a daily basis and although the female version was a nice fragrance, I was more attracted to this one with a slightly more sharp edge to it.

It is hot here today. Cool Water is great when it is hot. For the same reason that 4711 or Neroli Portifino. It just works.

This was a big deal back in the mid 90’s when I was in high school. I was never a big fan. It has always smelled too airy and almost like it’s got something missing to finish it off properly to my nose. Like I’m smelling 3/4 of the fragrance and then it abruptly cuts off if that makes sense. Has something in it that smells very linear and it seems to stay the same the entire wear. I feel the same way about Aqua di Gio , and D&G light blue. That being said I do own a huge bottle of the EDT and the after shave and deodorant as I write this. I still feel like it was never a complete fragrance to my nose. The aquatic DNA fragrances all have that same issue for me. But it is fresh and clean smelling during its somewhat short lifespan on skin. Sort of dry smelling to me. I live where it’s super hot so heavy or sweet frags don’t really work. Winter here is basically like spring everywhere else. It’s funny to me to hear this described as an old guy scent. To me it’s a young guy thing since I was young when it came out. I’ve never really taken it seriously because of that. So for me definitely not a formal or business type fragrance. Also this one is very similar to Coty Aspen. The Aspen might be slightly brighter or maybe it’s greener, but both have that same ingredient that make it smell like it’s missing something me. I want to like it more than I really do. The bottle is cool looking and it is an iconic aquatic fragrance. The sprayer works great

I've smelled this and similar scents so many times before, very basic and boring. Either way I'm personally not a fan of this kind of scent for men, not attractive.

Very good entry level fragrance. great price point and timeless. smells very aquatic and fresh. wish it lasted longer on me though. you can get away with 8+ sprays.

Cool water is an aquatic, green and aromatic fragrance.

Its aroma is very well known, it has a fresh opening, with its marine, mint and lavender smell. It also has other aromatic elements such as green notes and a base of sandalwood, tobacco and a little musk.

It is frequently compared to Green Irish Tweed from Creed (GIT), and for me the similarity is undeniable, without saying that they are the same, the difference, besides the price, is that Cool Water has a sweet accord, which I don't know if it comes from the marine notes, while GIT is drier, but they share green and aromatic elements that make them very close to each other. Both fragrances are already classics.

Despite the years it has been on the market, it continues to sell and be attractive, probably for a more mature audience, but I have even met young people who use it.

Its longevity is not the same as it was a few years ago, but it still persists for about 6 or 7 hours, with a medium to low sillage.

For what it costs, you can't go wrong with this fragrance.

I smelled this and it reminds me of people who works in the blue collar industry like old school daddy construction worker vibes. The fragrance is nice and all but it is overplayed even more than acqua di gio or aventus.
It lasts less than 6 hours on my skin and clothes. If you want to be modern just get dior sauvage but if you want to be a classic man then wear this.

This is definitely a classic. After owning this for a couple of years I can safely say I've never gotten sick of it. Its aquatic ocean smell is beautiful. Only think I dislike about this fragrance is its weak performance. In the dry down you start to lose the scent completely and wont be smelling it after 3-4 hours. Projection is okay but for a similar price you can get better. Despite this, it is a completely safe blind buy and I love it.

This is a good fragrance. I do like it but it smells like a familiar soap to me. Perhaps it’s a little outdated today, still very good though.

Smells like fresh laundry and a bit aquatic ids say its for hoter weather and middle age group longevity and sillage are average but i only tested this frgrance i dont own it so dont take my word for that. overall a pretty decent clean, fresh laundry scent nothing mind blowing.

First and foremost this is Fresh, Shower gel fresh. There are a couple of shower gels from Palmolive that are close to this. Palmolive Men Intense Cool Splash and Palmolive Men Refreshing 3-in-1. I use them to shower and then put Cool Water deodorant and EDT on. I usually spray about 5-6 sprays under my clothes. I work in the hospitality, so i cant really put on anything too adventurous and strong (but sometimes i do). This makes me smell like out of the shower freshness. It masks sweat quite well. I wear this most days to work. I have received a few compliments also, which in my culture are a rarity.
I did not wear this in the 90s or 2000s. But i remember visiting a chemist and smelling it there. At that time it smelled a bit too grown up for me. Today this is the perfect work scent for me.

Yes the sillage is not strong. Yes it fades away in a few hours. Value for money is great, and availability is good. Works all day and all year round.

If you want to smell like a clean man out of the shower, then i would recommend this.

Did NOT like it, but I also just don’t enjoy overly masculine scents. The opening wasn’t bad, but on me it dried down to a gym locker room type smell. That being said, I can definitely see how very masculine-leaning people could enjoy this!

Just got this with shower gel, after shave balm, and 40ml bottle for 20 dollars. Smells like every blue shower gel I ever had growing up in the 90s-2000s. Clearly it's iconic that it's been copied to death. I bought it because I enjoy these types of scents and I wanted a piece of history

For me this is perfect if I don't want to wear it all day, but have a clean smell vibe. Also is good for layering. Great initial blast but calms down rather quick. On my skin lasts only around 3 hrs.

I think the opening is quite appealing but the dry down isn’t great in my opinion, the performance is horrible, lasts 2 hours and projects for about ten minutes and after 10 minutes it is just a not very nice smell

If you were in high school in the late 80's or early to mid 90's, then this is already a scent you know well. You've either worn it, or know someone who has. Not smelling it for 10, 20, 30 years and then smelling it today will take you right back to that night when you were getting ready for the prom and you thought you'd be the best smelling dude there but as it turned out, you literally wound up smelling like 85% of every other guy in the building. That is not to say it is a bad thing, mind you. It's just the way of things. Despite being a green scent, Cool Water has an 'oceanic' vibe to it to me. It makes me think of being on a cruise ship far off shore after dark, breathing in the clean ocean air up on deck. Unlike most, I find it to be more of a 'summer night' scent, as I consider 'day' scents to be more light citrus like Clinique Happy, whereas Cool Water is a bit darker and more mysterious, asking what pleasures may await in the night ahead.

There are a lot of notes listed for this one, and I can't say that I have the ability to sniff out each and every one of them, but I initially can pick up the sea water, musk and lavender. After the dry down is when the green, woody and tobacco aspect starts to come through for me. Unless the formula has changed a lot over the years (my bottle is probably older than some of the people reading this) then I would say this is probably a safe blind-buy or a present for a young to middle-aged man in your life. You could say it's 'dated' but Cool Water is still inspiring new fragrances coming out today, and someone smelling it for the first time could easily believe that it just came out a year ago. On the downside, I find it doesn't project all that well after the first half hour or so, turning into a total skin scent an hour after that, which is well suited for when you're up close and personal with someone, but it's cheap enough to reapply at will if you're not. Back in the day guys would drown themselves in this to make sure it lasted. Overall, it's just a "like" for me, mostly for the nostalgia of it all.

I still love this today. This was the in perfume at my high school in the 90s. Some people find it dated but often they’re the same people who mistake it for more modern more expensive fragrances like Creed. A little goes a long way and it’s available in body spray deodorant which is true to the perfume and lasts all day with a similar dry down. Aquatic and musky. Suitable all year round in moderation but definitely more summer.

Fresh and salty with some "sweet" lavender and subtle tobacco. It isn't bad but I definitely don't love it. To my nose it smells kind of like a funky scent that a sweaty guy that just came home from the beach would smell like.

I recommend Versace Pour Homme over this if you are looking for a fresh scent, but fragrances are all subjective. It is like Joop homme, lots of people hate it, lots of people love it.

Very common frag so quite likely someone you know has it. I suggest that you try it before you buy it, but that being said it is $20....

This thing has a weird smell, like water mixed with Isopropyl alcohol, and it cost me $20. I just don't get why Jeremy Fragrance likes it. It's a big 'eh' for me.

This was my first fragrance starting off my collection, definetely top 10 cheapest aquatic fragrances in the market right now and it was a gamechanger in the industry when it dropped. This is the type of fragrance I would wear to church or simply going somewhere outside and having fun in the hot months of the year. Sillage is alright, longevity on my skin is weak and projection maybe 1-2 ft at most. If you can get better, get better. 6/10 in my opinion

Great starter fragrance. Its fresh, cool and masculine. not much else to say.

Originally used to hate this (after shave version) to death after being given one by my uncle, but after using it after every single shave- not only did the smell grow on me, but I began associating the smell with the fresh feeling and surge of confidence gained after a great shave and a warm shower. love it.

TLDR: Im not a fan but its ok on other people, i dont get some of the top notes.

I see so much hype on this but to be honest even for summer this is disguisting to me, in air and on my skin.
I dont know if its the way i spray it or my preferences in general, but i only like this on other people and i prefer to only smell it very slightly, i do not get any mint, lavender or rosemary.
To me this just smells like a non-fresh aquatic scent for very strict scenarios, all i have to say is im not a fan.

smells nicely of lavender but still keeps a masculine scent, this one has a very fresh smell. i wouldn't recommend it if you want compliments or to make a statement as it is pretty inoffensive but with its value it is a perfect fragrance to buy for a cool spring season.

A very easygoing, pleasant and fresh fragrance, suitable for literally every occasion (I would wear something else in more formal settings, but it would be fine anyway). What I smell the most is a lot lavender, watery/salty notes and sandalwood. It really reminds of summer, being around the beach or a pool in a very hot day. I will probably buy it again when finished, maybe the intense version, just because it’s so easygoing.

It's definitely great to have this as a dumb-reach daily for the hot days of summer. I do not care for this fragrance much more than that, but I'll sometimes borrow my dad's bottle if I feel like it. For its era, it was a legendary fragrance; it has however not really stood the test of time to me but it has pioneered the way for other marine fragrances to claim the stage.

Probaby one of the best smell if not the best when it comes to the category of everyday fragrance. Sadly longevity and sillage sucks big time it becomes a skin scent within 2 hours and completely disappear 4 hours later. its cheap so i guess u should expect that

Cool Water gets mentioned a lot as a cheap alternative to Creed's Green Irish Tweed, so this review is predominately from that perspective. Skip over if that isn't of interest. :)

I absolutely love Green Irish Tweed. LOVE. But I don't love the price. Especially as a daily scent. So I've been researching alternatives. Cool Water is mentioned a lot, and it's a legendary fragrance that I've never used despite being an 80s teen. Walmart had a 75ml on sale for 26 bucks so it was an easy decision to try it out.

Got it home and immediately sprayed GIT on the left forearm, and CW on the right. GIT opens with a nice, grassy green note, and CW opens with a chemical, alcohol solvent blast. heh. Once that settled down fairly shortly, I was surprised. It's close. VERY close. But as it dried down that observation changed. GIT had this woodsy floral smooth tone that conjured up walking through a dewy tree-lined meadow with a babbling brook running through it. CW has a more seaside smell to it. Nothing really green or floral. And the aquatic note has a distinct salty/brininess to it. As it dried down further, GIT continued this lush smoothness and CW began to fade, though that salty element remained at the forefront. It's not just my skin, I smell it on the atomizer as well. After an hour I'm only smelling the left arm.

To make sure it wasn't just me I tried it on my brother. He has no knowledge of fragrances and generally doesn't care. Sprayed them on the same arms as mine. He started mock choking from the CW mist and really liked GIT. As it dried down he said they are similar. But he kept smelling the GIT side saying it's sweeter and smells so good. He also noted that CW was harsher and had a saltiness. But he liked both.

Tried it again for the day on my neck and arms to see if it is different in full use. Same thing, and it fades quickly. Like 30 minutes quickly. Not sure if that is nose-blindness or it is just weak. I'd still get light plumes of it when moving around.

CW is actually a very nice fragrance especially for the money. A bit synthetic. I will wear it once in awhile or maybe give it to my brother, but if you are looking for a cheap GIT clone, keep looking. As a scent on it's own merit, if you are looking for a fresh seaside cologne on the cheap, I would recommend it. But you'll have to respray or apply more than you'd think.

It's a mature men's summer scent but it can be pulled of by younger dudes too. Easy blind buy. Clean, fresh shaving foam kind of scent. Longevity is easy 6-7 hours with one hour and a half good projection. I don't know it can be out dated but personally I like the scent very much

Rating this strictly as a SCENT its a 5 all day long, twice on Sunday. It's an amazing fresh, clean, effervescent, bright, manly scent. Unfortunately it doesn't last long. You will need to spray this every couple of hours but man is this amazing as a scent. I like to wear it out of the shower to bed.

I absolutely love this fragrance! It's a classic, aquatic, and refreshing fragrance that retails for a great price and doesn't bother people after lots of sprays. My father would wear this when I was younger -- and still does. I feel that the scent has slightly changed over time -- especially with the redesign. The Jasmine note is not as vibrant as I remember. Cool water will always hold a special place in my heart since it started my fragrance journey in my early adolescence. Overall, 10/10 🤩

Safe blind buy and very affordable. Good for everyday wear. Lasts 3 hrs max on me with moderate projection.

I’m nostalgic about this fragrance and the OG was a masterpiece. The new reformulated version is still decent, but like many fragrances, it’s best days are in the past.

I understand the hype that revolved this fragrance (back when it was first released). Now it just smells like tide detergent. Its really way to basic of a smell to wear. If you can pull it off good on yah👍

I just got the original -88 first patch sample (miniature bottle!), and oh my god, again this rude truth of that the elder generation masterpieces ARE something else than today's re-re-re-formulations! I wish these elder powerhouse frags could be produced again somewhere out of EC regulations! What is worth of using these Iso-E supers and other molecules with water, creating some impotant fragrances/smells?

Don’t like it. Bought it on sale, immediately gave it away. Smells sour to my nose. This is legitimately what I smell like after a good workout. Why would I want to smell like that?

Cool water is a classic because of its good value, It has a nice oceanic and green notes. Its a good fragrance for a beginner since its very easy to like. however both the sillage and longevity are lacking. its slighty synthetic but that makes sense for the price you pay. its definitely a warm weather fragrance. most reviews on this website massively overrate this fragrance because of nostalgia. its smells pretty nice but not anything spectacular and it has weak performance. however like I stated before it is still a good fragrance for beginners.

This is a timeless gem . There is a huge difference between the new version and the original. The original version is much stronger and the notes are more defined especially the tobacco notes that last up to 8hrs . The newer is far more synthetic and lasts 2hrs max. This definitely takes me back to the 90s. I Strongly recommend the vintage version( made by Lancaster)which costs almost the same . I managed to find a 75ml on ebay for $45.

In my opinion this fragrance is definitely worth the price and worth getting if you have spare change. It is definitely a day fragrance and reminds you closely of the sea. Things i dislike though, the siliage is not the best it is ok though considering its fragrance oil percentage. It reminds me personally alot of washing liquid due to the amount of herbal accords. I would give it a 5/10 for use, 9/10 for price.

Cool Water by Davidoff will always hold a special place in my heart as another fragrance DeLorean, and by that I mean it transports me back to my high school days. Its refreshing and uplifting scent instantly activates my senses. I can't help but feel a rush of nostalgia and endless conversations not only about “who’s the best emcee,” but also “what’s the best cologne?”

For 10+ years, I only owned two fragrances. Cool Water and CK One were my faithful companions. My “ride or dies” and without a doubt, my signature scents. I rocked with Cool Water every Monday through Friday, and CK One on the weekends like clockwork. With that said, Cool Water never fails to make me feel confident and uplifted. Is longevity great? No. It’s decent, at best. Does it smell synthetic? Yeah, a little bit, but the fresh oceanic notes combined with the subtle hints of lavender and mint create a timeless and captivating aroma.

Cool Water, you will forever hold a spot in my fragrance collection, with replacement bottles forevermore reminding me of the carefree days and a youthful spirit.

The opening starts with green notes. Medium and near are almost the same. The content I feel is green grass, lavender in the opening, again a spacious and spacious structure, in the middle and closing, lavender, mint and woody cedar can be replaced by elements such as lavender, mint and woody cedar. It comes on and shuts down in a short time. It has a fresh and woody structure that ensures longevity. However, it is not permanent. Its effect lasts 2 hours when applied to the skin, 4-5 hours when applied to clothes, and its spread is almost non-existent. When you first apply it, it spreads to arm length within half an hour. then there is nothing. I do not recommend.

I'm not a big fan of the dry down; it ends up smelling somewhat synthetic plastic scent that is not pleasant. The latest batch doesn't quite live up to how it used to be. It starts off alright, like the original, but then takes a turn for the worse – honestly, it's a bit nauseating. Plus, it's not super cheap either for what it is, and I'd expect it to be priced under $10. All things considered, I'd rate it around 3.8/10.

It's just not the same. This was a power house fragrance in the late 80's/90's. It was a literally a lung ful of ocean spray where ever you went, whom ever came across it, but in a good way. and it's name was perfect for such a product.
since the 2010's it started to change. It lost its vibrancy, and the scent no longer is 'fresh', but more sweet. Forget about longevity (for my skin and clothes at least). It's spray on, 5 minutes gone. Like chopps007 stated if you have never smelt the original formulation, you cannot imagine just how good it was in quality and performance. Real shame having to see one of my favourites wane away into nothing.

This was my very first scent in 1993 and started my love of aftershaves. The original had an unbelievable quality. The smell would fill a park. It was unbelievable. It was truly magical. The scent now has a bit of the magic left in it but no one will understand what this was unless they smelled it in the early years. It has gotten weaker and weaker over the years. I don’t know why perfumers weaken scents like this. Creed Aventus is the same, not in smell but a scent that was pure quality back in the day. People nowadays don’t understand it unless they smelled the early versions of these scents. I’d pay through the nose for cool water that smelled like the early one. Davidoff. Really affordable but has terribly weak perfomance, it disappears after a few minutes and leaving no trail. I get occasional sniffs for a few hours when sprayed 20x on clothes.
But honestly, it does really smell nice and clean, a beautiful aquatic scent.
Will try if the EDP intense version really performs better once my bottle is empty.

For the price it’s one of the best colognes a man can wear. Everyone will love it, so hard to hate it, smells like a man fresh out of the shower or a bar of soap.

Love it, very aromatic, green, and fresh....I wear it in the hot sun and when this fragrance mixes with my body chemistry, it becomes more pleasant and refreshing like after washing clothes with white fresh fragrance detergent in laundry

Timeless classic, most of the brand with the fresh or cool profile out there such as soap cloned this dna. Fresh, mature scent. Strong opening but doesn't project loud after an hour and become skin scent. Spray on your cloth and skin for better projection and longevity.

Cool water used to be the fragrance to wear in the late 80’s early 90’s for good reason. I own a few older classics. Out of all of them cool water is the only one that doesn’t show it’s age. Still smells great. The original shower gel scent. People seem to complain about the performance. It projects well for the first hour and has moderate longevity. My bottle is about a year old and the smell has definitely got richer. A fragrance for everyone, timeless and ageless. For the price it’s a 10 out of 10. I have owned quite a few of the flankers over the years. Some I have burned through and some I have sold on. None of the flankers come close to the OG.

I thought I hadn't smelled this before, and everyone should know what it smells like because it's such a common reference in fragrance. But as soon as I smelled it I remembered. It's the "active" scent of every body wash, lotion at the gym, body spray, and deodorant worn by teenage boys since the dawn of time. They grow up and start wearing Sauvage, Eros, Acqua DG, etc. But honestly they should have just kept wearing this because even though it's awful it's better than all of those. It smells clean, masculine, and basic. The boy next door. Sometimes that's just fine.

I bought a decant of cool water and GIT just is case of recheck my opinion about them.
honestly I almost cried... not just because cool water still amazing but because of the memories that get alive with this scent.
CW was my first, in fragrance journey and no wonder that it is so popular and YES I still love the scent and going to buy another full (Maybe 200 ml) bottle after around two decades!
and i don't know if my taste changed or the formulation deferred, my decant smells much more natural than old formulation that felt more synthetic.
GIT is great though and quality wise far superior too cool water.

In my opinion, an amazing fragrance. The opening is heavy on the aquatic scent, very projecting in the beginning. The dry down on the other hand, has intimate sillage but for me it's an amazing fresh pleasant smell. It's definitely a fresh daytime summer fragrance. It's for casual wearing, wouldn't wear it when going out at night. Could also be a nice summer office fragrance. The performance is pretty good on my skin, I get more than 6 hours.
For the low price on this, its definitely worth it, amazing fragrance.

I just loved using it like everyone else.

Only now much older and more exposed to other Parfume houses did I realise that it’s very much like GIT.
It’s not so much a clone but more like a very similar smelling scent.

Last week I got curious and sprayed some on my arm at my local PX. It smells slightly sweeter and less nose-filling than my cursive lettering Lancaster bottles. Doesn't last as long, but it smells distinctively Cool Water, but more pleasing to me. Weird how I like a reformulation more than the previous formula. Thinking of grabbing a couple bottles. This and Joop Homme are some of the fragrances that still resemble their old selves despite so many reformulations.

Yuck. Dirty gas station bathroom mop bucket scent. Definitely not a fan despite the long hype.

A classic "guy smell". Mass-appealing and sporty. If the color blue-green had a smell this would be it.

I use this almost every day as a gym scent, very refreshing and clean aquatic note. Recommend to get a 200ml bottle, can spray liberally for best performance. A must have for most guys.

Davidoff Cool Water is the definition of “Meh” its longevity is decent with about 3-5 hours on my skin. Sillage however is on the weaker side… with 2-3 sprays it’ll fine but not good. it’s not strong enough that it’ll turn heads from 10 Ft away. but it will bring a pleasant scent of freshness within 2-3 feet. Once again this fragrance is on the weaker side.

Regardless of the performance of this fragrance that’s not exactly why I rated this fragrance a “😐” rating. The opening on this thing is nuclear and not the good nuclear… it’s a salty scent that literally burns your nose holes. And it’s like that for the first 40 minutes or so. Anyhow after All The saltiness burning your nose holes you get a decent somewhat enjoyable scent that is okay.

A classic, an icon all over the world. Timeless. If you are curious if this would ne appropiate in 2023, I want to let you know a me and a couple of friends use this freshie in college. Longevity and sillage are exceptional if you consider the price, considering that you let it MACERATE. Definetly for anyone at any age engaged with any business it doesn't matter, get a clean shave and put this masterpiece on.

It should be in EVERY collector's collection simply because it Fathered modern fragrance. It sent a ripple through the fragrance industry for sure. So masculine, so sexy, so ASSERTIVE but so cool. This fragrance smells martian to me. Nowadays fragrances play with mixing masculinity and femininity but Cool Water doesn't play any of the charades. At all lol.

Doesn't have to be explained much further because it's been done thousands of times but one thing I'd like to note is the fact that some batches of it are awful.

Not in a "bad scent" awful but in the sense that the fragrance dissipates immediately. Like you bought water in a bottle.

I haven't had that issue with any other fragrance than cool water for some reason.

I just got a bottle that smells like OG cool water and it lasts 6+ hours. Almost afraid to re-apply throughout the day.

There's not much to say that has not been said about this fresh classic, the grandfather of modern aquatic scents, but I feel like Cool Water is more about the green and musky side of freshness rather than watery or airy. I've got a 75 ml bottle from the 2021 batch, so cannot judge about the original 80s-90s batches.

The opening hits with intense dewy green grass and jasmine smell, with lavender that's bright and refreshing, but not preeminent, and cool minty overtones. It smells like having a walk along the grassy lake shore in the morning after a night of raining. The sea water accord is definitely there, but it seems to me like it's more of an olfactory trick than a direct presence of salty water. There's just enough musk in Cool Water to offset the green, woody and floral qualities of CW a bit into earthy, powdery and slightly bitter territory that gives it its trademark aquatic touch. There's also a noticeable hint of unexpected fruity, sour sweetness, reminiscent of a citrusy watermelon, that grows more prominent if you overspray CW. I suspect that calone and cedar are responsible for that watermelon illusion. However, this sweetness is not accentuated in any way and disappears almost completely in the drydown. CW's base is woody, but not the warm kind of woody, and almost a bit earthy with the green notes mellowing out into a classic male mossy smell, at least on my skin. To my nose, it's not unlike Kenzo pour Homme in the sense that they're like two variations of the same green aquatic direction.

Still, despite the fact that it's one of the pioneers in aquatics, I can't easily think of a more refreshing, practically thirst-quenching scent than CW, and it's really fit for these hot August days. One downside is that the longevity isn't monstrous, being around 3-ish hours, and the sillage is barely there, but that might just be me, and that's easily tolerable for the price anyway. It does smell a little like laundry detergent, especially in the immediate opening, but the similarity is not very striking, and I don't find the smell of laundry detergent repelling. Besides, it would be more appropriate to say that it's laundry detergent that smells like CW. As for being generic or overused, I personally haven't noticed CW on anyone during the eight months of being fascinated with fragrances, if originality matters to you. Dior Sauvage, yes, Aventus and clones, yes, PR One Million, yes, but not Cool Water, although the weak sillage of new batches might be the cause of that. There's hoping that it's not discontinued any time soon.

Just got a 200ml bottle of this classic. I sprayed on my chest and I am getting gorgeous fresh spicy and marine wafts up from this. This is a perfume that most men should always have in their collection. It's a great all-rounder.

Avoid this one. Buy Armaf Tres nuit, Rasasi Egra, or Al haramain Knight.

I hated this when I was a kid in the 90s but I love it now. Ordered it on Amazon. Glad I gave it another shot. Smells exactly like it used to. There is no other fragrance that I’ve found that smells like this when it dries down. It is so unique. A great and cheap blind buy if you’re on the fence reading this review. Do it. And don’t buy into all the “watery” talk lol. If the packaging was red and the name was “spice man” not one person would say this smells “watery” or “aquatic” lol everyone is so swayed by marketing. This is a great Fougere scent. Very strong for about an hour then it’s moderate.

I have a new 125 ml bottle and have been wearing this since early 00’s as my day scent.
Yesterday I gave it a shot and I found myself again. Fresh, salty and how I like to smell. Not like everyone smells around me, everyone guy wears YSL Y and that kind of new scents. Cool Water is nothing crazy or challenging just a good everyday scent. I give it 7/10.

A nostalgic, crisp, fresh and aquatic fragrance. Loved by most, including me. A throwback to the 1980s, yet still relevant today.
Great value for money, although the re formulation is disappointing, as it does not last as long as it used to.
I still like it though. Particularly great for the summer.

Well, they certainly got the "water" part right, and that's not "cool." This is among the weakest if not the weakest I've tried to date. You smell almost nothing in the opening and nothing on your skin in ten minutes. This goes in the garbage cart. I'd be embarrassed to give it away.

To me this smells like a disinfectant or something you use to clean a bathroom… just my opinion. Was hoping it would improve with the dry down but just gets more herbal… so starts as 409 and ends as the organic natural hippy cleaner you buy at the health food store… not something I would wear. However I was also not alive in the 80s so perhaps there’s a nostalgia factor in it for some.

This is the fragrance they put in the "beard wash facial hair color" I use. I don't know how I feel about that, considering I first wore this before I could grow facial hair...

this managed to evade me somehow all these years. I was curious about it, but never interested enough to buy the bottle. I even bought the intense flanker before it. I also tried the edp version before it as I bought it as a birthday present for my friend. hell, I even tried the Hot Water before it as I bought it to that same friend again, but received couple of free samples with it so I finally got the chance to try it.

what can I say other that I'm obviously veeeery late to the party. it must have been special when it came out. I bet the guys were drowning in it. and just to be clear, it's a solid like from me even today. but with current formulation and its performance, the only use I'd have of it would be before and after workout and only in the summer. you can tell even without trying it in the past that it just feels... weakened.

as for the smell... I don't care it's synthethic or that at times it smells like a shaving gel. I don't find it cheap nor dated and I certainly don't think its simplicity is something negative. if anything, all that makes it a proper man scent. and by proper man, I mean a guy that couldn't care less about trends, isn't scare to death that a complete stranger will find his fragrance dated, isn't offended by everything he hears or reads, a guy that got his shit together and doesn't spend hours on yt or fragrantica trying to find out which fragrances girls like the most. I bet half the guys still rocking this have 2 or 3 fragrances at best. what I also bet is that the women, yeah - the women near them aren't the type to get turned off by... what's the term again? ah, yess - the "mature" smell, whatever that means.

anyway, I get that game has moved on... but sometimes classics come alive when the market gets fed up of same old. meaning, Davidoff should stop producing generic and forgettable flankers and simply "revive" this with improved performance. I would buy it, 100%. plenty of guys would. everything I wrote goes for Zino as well.

I'm a young teenager but I love this smell. It is a green aromatic fragrance with marine facets. It's an old school scent reminiscent of aftershave lotion. Finally the outfit is correct About 6 hours on skin and 10 hours on clothes. it's also synthetic

In the Indian climatic conditions(hot and humid) this scent begins with being strong for the first 10min or so, then this becomes a skin scent for 1hr and barely projects, and then vanishes completely after 1.5hr.
Poor performance in Indian weather buy its clones for better projection else davidoff can make it more strong in the next reformulation.

Cool Water is a natural entry point into the world of perfumes for men and I think it excels in that role. It's fair to say the scent is a bit synthetic but it's honestly balanced well enough that it's not unbearable unless you really really overspray.

This is miles ahead of the two other blue/aquatic cheapies I own, Nautica Voyage and Azzaro Chrome, which are not suited for anyone older than 14 and even one spray of which could be nausea inducing for some. Unlike those, Cool Water is actually wearable, and comes in a really nice, barbershop style glass bottle. I bought the big 200ml bottle and don't regret it at all.

This is a really hard scent to rate. I love having it because I can overspray before working out or just heading out to the store and not worry about running out. It's a nice scent but it's obviously nothing all that unique and the performance is pretty bad.

I'll give it an 8/10 considering the price point and what it tries to achieve. You should absolutely blind buy it. It does perform like a cheapie but it smells and feel much better.

This fragrance is good and would be nice if it lasted and projected enough for long. There is a brim of salt on top of this fragrance and it can throw some people off but it's overall okay, although more for 20 bucks though. Wouldn't get. 6/10

I can respect a classic, but time and reformulations have not been kind to this. Perhaps a victim of its own success. I can imagine you would feel differently if you weren't around when this type of scent was ubiquitous, but to me it evokes memories of the bathroom at my grandparents' and that seems anything but Cool.

The fragrance is more complex than most would lead you to believe. It has depth. Not particularly bright and fresh, but more marine and musky, no real synth feel despite its price. It's been around for so long that you will most certainly already have smelled it or something like it; for some it may evoke a shaving gel, for others a barber shop, and others an aftershave. It does lean toward a 'barber shop' smell, but it's nowhere as synthetic or shallow as one. I like it and use it for situations where I just want to smell good without impressing or causing turning heads. For it's price point, a definite addition to my collection.
