Two words to describe this clean and sophistic.

This is better than Homme Intense 2011 but so hard to get

nicetosmellyou

I just got a 2008 batch of the 2007 version which many consider to be the absolute best mens designer fragrance of all time, the holy grail of designer perfumery. But I am a bit confused. As a big lover of 2011 version, this is quite different and a bit odd to me. I was expecting this to be richer, sweeter and even better performing than my 2018 and 2021 batches that I own. Unfortunately, I think I am noseblind to this fragrance but I can still sense what this smells of. The sweetness is opposite to my expectations, toned down with more earthy cacao being present in this composition. The iris is also not at all as prominent as the reformulated versions of Dior Homme Intense. I will say, I am learning to like this one and hopefully my noseblindness to this will go away because I really like the scent that is coming from the atomizer, but sprayed on it's quite faint on my skin. I know I am noseblind because I asked my parents if they could smell it while I could barely detect it at all and they said it is strong. There is a possibility that the fragrance has just aged poorly, as it smells a bit off putting in the opening but I hear that is a common theme of old or vintage bottles of perfume. It is very different to the later batches, but I am learning to like it more.

این عطر فوق العاده هست یه رایحه شیک از زنبق که من خیلی بهش علاقه دارم ولی فقط همین نسخه رو می پسندم و نسخه های بعد سال ۲۰۰۷ اصلا برام جالب نیست

I have a 50ml sealed bottle of 2007 batch if someone is interested PM me

Ladies, don’t be scared of the “Homme” in this fragrance, it’s truly unisex. It’s one of my most treasured fragrances in my collection.
If you love a good iris note in your fragrances, I’m sure you will love this one! Iris so well blended with vanilla. It’s just intoxicating.
Classy, sophisticated, long lasting (I’m talking about 12+ hours), with great projection. Too heavy to wear in spring/summer but on a cooler day is where this fragrance shines! The bottle is well designed and feels good in your hand.
I got my 2007 version bottle from Jomashop. This fragrance deserves all the hype. A true masterpiece from Dior!

My first real love in the perfumed world. Still have about 25ml left….after that the new formulation must do. Luckily Valentino Uomo Intense gets really close.

I am looking for a silver collar bottle, batch year 2007-2010 should be fine. PM me if you have. Thanks.

I have around 35ml left of a 2009 bottle. Last night, I sprayed it on my body before bed, purely for nostalgic reasons, and MAAAAN!!!... this fragrance is a fucking BEAST💪🏾😈; it was still projecting 10hrs later!!😳
Last week, out of curiosity, I sampled the latest formulation, and can confirm wholeheartedly that it's GARBAGE; zero performance!
Surely fragrance houses would want to keep their customers happy, ensuring their loyalty is retained??? NOPE!!! They'd much rather reformulate (water-down) on the sneak, in hopes of tricking people into believing they'd just ran out faster, meaning they'd repurchase quicker, meaning higher profits for the corporation.
Prada did it with Luna Rossa Carbon, after they transferred their account from PUIG to L'Oréal. L'Oréal came in to boost sales.
I didn't know until I wondered why the 2021 bottle performed for 2hrs on me. Then I bought 3x 100ml 2015 - 2018 PUIG batches, and they're solid performers... monstrous, in fact!

I HATE IT!!! They're all doing it, even during the worst crisis of our lives,
they're trying to squeeze more money out of us, by giving us less. It's INFURIATING!!😡🤮

At least I won't need to repurchase this Dior Homme Intense any time soon; I hardly wear it, due to having an armory of other dope knicker-wetter's.
This fragrance makes knickers straight-up DISAPPEAR; it's that good.
It's just a shame that it's balls have been cut off... a sign of the times that we're in...😖😑
Quick FYI... this is an unapologetically masculine fragrance... intrusively so.
If you're a butch female who wears men's extremely masculine gear, you do so because you want to, not because you can.
That being said, it'd be weird as F of me to wear makeup and perfume, nor could I, nor would I want to...🤷🏾♂️

Staretsi

This was such a great fragrance. A sorely missed classic.

Long lasting luxury fragrance for men!

Powdery, floral scent for men, but something ULTRA BRUTAL. Not suitable for work or sports as it is priced, there is no warped one who would blow for everyday use. I have a 2015 batch and an other one from 2008!

There is no woman who would say no to whatever you want. It is no coincidence that they try it as a unisex perfume. The bad news for them is that this is certainly a male accessory, not just any.

sk8-daniel-96

I'm in love with it, I still have a 2007 bottle the I'm using parsimoniously.
I can say it's the best iris-amber-vanilla perfume I have ever smelled.

This site is...... Well, I had this gem right after release 2007. I m French and dear fragrantica webmaster, please update fragrance description because this beauty is OLIVIER POLGE'S creation, NOT DEMACHY as you have mentioned..... Only Dhomme 2005 and DHI 2007 are hits. All DEMACHY has done was ruining these 2 ones, Fahrenheit.
PLEASE UPDATE DESCRIPTION because it's unfair for today's Chanel perfumer, son of the Genius jacques polge.
Let's see what Kurkdjian does, probably reformulate Sauvage :)))))))))

I will only briefly say that this is one of my favorite perfumes ever

Perpetual Collector

Last year i bought what I thought was a new version of Intense for my husband. He opened it, sprayed one spray, did not like it due to make-up note, and closed the box. The following morning, when we woke up, our living room still smelled of this, so I came here to revisit the reviews. I could faintly remember some guys complaining about the longevity of the newer versions, which is what made me want to read some more about it. Then I noticed the talk about different formulas and decided to check the formula on my box. I was stunned when I realized that I have received an original 2007 batch - FORMULA 03214/A. I guess the seller had no idea what they had on their hands!
It now sits like a hidden treasure, inside 2 boxes, and enclosed in the plastic ziploc bag in our perfume cabinet.I have no idea what will i ever do with it since my husband is not into it, but it was a really cool score! Maybe i will sell it one day.

jacobnoergaard

I had the original 2007 version. Then I got an 0Z01, ie. 2010 version. It's still potent, but to be honest. I still have it today. Maybe 10% left. It's 11 years old. 50ml. Can't say I'm too fond of it. I might sound strange since I really liked the 2007 original. I have tried the 2010 version many times, but each time I found I really didn't like it. I mean, it does SMELL like a quality smell and it DOES last long etc. But maybe I just changed. It's not really for me any more. So I suppose the remaining 10 percent of my 50 ml will likely last another decade.

onixx

I own 2007, 2011, 2014 and 2020 bottles of DHI. While most won't admit it, there is just something magical about DHI 2007 compared to the other batches. It is so much darker, richer, sexier and smoother. The longevity is insane. The scent trail this leaves is alluring. Definitely an iconic fragrance and my all time favorite scent ever!

Quick compliment story.. I've received several compliments while wearing DHI throughout the years but one in particular, I will never forget. I remember being at a nightclub and I was standing by the bar area waiting on my drink. A couple walks by and just as they walk past me, the girl turns around, stops for a half second and looks at me and I hear her tell her boyfriend, "Oh my god, that guy smells amazing". I'm not sure how the couples night went after that compliment was made lol but I know she was thoroughly impressed with DHI 2007.

brokesta911

Dior Homme Intense (2011) - iris lavender - #francoisdemachy created an offshoot from the popular #diorhomme and created an accord mainly focusing on Powdery & Lipsticky Iris, Ambrette Musk, Lavender and Pear. The intensity & sweetness comes from the lavender & pear combination rounded by woody cedar and vetiver.

scentury

I thought I had my hands on Valentino Uomo when I sprayed this. Same powdery, vanillic vibe, with amber and vetiver rounding out the scent. Safe office scent, however, on my skin it stays linear throughout its 4 hour perfume life. Girls love the scent. But do not overspray, it tends to get cloying. 8/10 for me.

josevancouver

I proudly own a near-full bottle of Dior Homme Intense POLGE 2007 after draining the last few ml of my other 2007 bottle. I haven't worn this fragrance in a while, preferring to wear some fragrances I recently bought the past few months (Nishane Ani, PDM Carlisle, etc. ), but wearing this fragrance now as I type this reminds me of why I love this decadent, sexy fragrance.

For those of you reading this who own a 2011-post version (I own two 2013 bottles), I can honestly say to my nose they are fairly close. I just find this 2007 version as being just a tad more dark, mysterious and sexy....so glad I own a bottle of this AND a 2005 version of Dior Homme EDT POLGE!

bibo25

Love love love this master piece, sexy as helllll ,sophisticated , romantic , sensual last long time on me i have the vintage ( this one ) And the 2011 version love them both. 2011 heavy on vanilla more sweet the vintage 2007 version heavy on coco less sweet.

Dead Disney

Unfortunately, this has to be repeated every once and again: this is for the 2007 version only, people!

Never understood why so many people have bumrushed this version crying about longevity from the post 2007 bottles. Don't mean to be rude, but it is troublesome to have to sift through the comments to get to the ones from people who have actually owned the 2007 version.

Thanks.

mixter99

This is special.

My father stopped using his Dior Homme Intense 2011 batch one day and said I can keep it. I have been using this for years and this is a work of art, it smells mysterious, dark, seductive and opulent. It is difficult to say whether Valentino Uomo is better than this but DHI is amazing on its own.

Whilst I love wearing this for myself, I have surprisingly never gotten a compliment from it ever, I have worn this for around 5 years. Despite that I feel this is what you want to wear when you are going out to a club in the winter, or for a date. This puts you in a mood to be suave and charming, you cannot be dressed bad and wear this. I even used it for job interviews (not recommended as it is way too strong) and got the job.

Nevertheless this is still a legend, the 2011 formulation is the best, shame they changed it so much over the years. My bottle is nearly dead but due to the really high prices I think I will go with Valentino. Still I will never forget this scent.

For me 9.5/10

SUPER STRONG, SUPER SEXY. DARK AND MYSTERIOUS

POWDER AND VANILLA BOMB.

GREAT FOR WINTER DAYS, LEAVES A HUgE TRACE BEHIND AND IS ROOM FILLER!

I was lucky to land the original '07 and the '11 formulations within two weeks of each other. This is the most delicious fragrance that I have ever smelled. Both batches have a very potent opening and on my skin the fragrance doesn't mellow out until about an hour. However, when it does... it is worth the wait. The full buttery iris, along with the vanilla, amber and woods gives this fragrance a warm, floral, cocoa aroma.

The projection is beastly, sillage is 4 feet and the longevity last through a hot shower. This is the ultimate date, dress up and formal scent for cooler temperatures.

In conclusion, this is my favorite scent in my collection and I'd spend another $250-$300 for another full bottle all over again. Good thing is that this a 3-4 spray max fragrance, so I'm sure my 200ml's will last me quite a minute

alfrued

I found the perfect clone of this legend
Same smell & performance
It is max gordon Vector, ooooh boy!

emiri

one of my favorite perfumes, I could wear it all the time

JamesAQ4

First impression was that this was powdery and not so masculine. Maybe it was just how that fellows skin reacted, because over the years this has become a truly admired fragrance for me. Definitely can smell sexy and masculine, but maybe not on every guy?

8823188

This is the 2007 version page.
Please dont post comments that belong to 2011 here.
2011 is good too
But the post 2014 batches are joke in compare with this one
Toned down vanilla
Toned down iris
Eliminated cocoa
I own the three version(2007 2011 2015)
The performance of 2015 and next are moderate.the people who said performance of recent batches hasen't use the first version.

scentlike

Really disappointed about this one. Doesn't project or endure as expected from an EdP, yet the price is quite compatible... Moreover, I do not think a man would be comfortable wearing such overly powdery scent... To me, very overrated one. As a matter of fact, I gave my bottle away...

NuitBlanche

I have been using it since 2014. Longevity is really poor. Max 2 hours. After 2 hours someone should be close enough to your neck to smell it. Silliage ls arm length.
Smell ls perfect but I didnt get much compliment. People barely notices lt, maybe because of poor longevity. Or maybe it smells like a unisex parfume.
In short, smell ls great but longevity ls really poor and don't expect much compliment from women.

drshanmuka

This is as close to smelling heaven as you can get on earth. Lasts for a really long time and is my eternal favourite, and I own more than a hundred designer perfumes.

thereaper

I had this version when it was first released. It had the lipstick note very pronounced at the beginning, the first hour. Then, a strong cocoa note mixed with powder vanilla. This last combination remained without changes for the rest of its show. The thing is that it was very heavy and strong and headache inducing for me. DHI 2007 was very strong for about 16 hours with only one spray. I had to give it away. I decided to get the 2011 reformulation, which is softer in every aspect, though it is more linear and shorter lived than its predecesor. A must have anyway.

curtmaster

The Newer versions will never compare to the 2007 to 2009 versions.

60nice

Very lovely scent, it's like a blast of iris and vanilla with extreme performance, very nice when applied in winter time and in my opinion deserves all the love its getting.

lechapelierfou

Got a bottle with silver stem, first formulation from 2010 for sale 99/100ml if anyone from the EU wants it, hit me up. The scent is strong but still airy, you can't choke yourself with this. The difference between this and my 2015 version is that the vintage has a big blast of iris in the opening, the 2015 has a lighter pear fruit note. Longevity is 12-14 hrs on the vintage and 8-10 on the 2015, which is beastly because tobacco vanille doesn't last more than 10 on my skin.

josevancouver

I haven't worn Dior Homme Intense (Original version) in a long time and am fortunate to have an almost-full bottle. This scent smells amazing. The iris, leather, vanilla in this scent is alluring with the cedar backbone. This scent has gotten me a lot of compliments over the years and it is sexy, mysterious and appealing. This is not a t-shirt and jeans fragrance. Wear this dressed up on a cool/cold day.

jreily88

One of the most feminine fragrances I've ever smelt. Smells like an old woman. I cannot, for the life of me, so how any straight or non-metro man could ever wear this. This is more feminine than the vast majority of women's perfumes that I've smelt.

Smell: 0/10
Longevity: 9/10
Projection: 9/10

Lockon

I dislike the scent.
But others love it, when i wear it.
Sillage three to six feet away.
Last an easy ten hours.
5.0 oz edt bottle $75.00
If my co-workers and friends didn't like this scent on me.
I wouldn't wear it.
save your money...
It smells like a box of crayons.

I actually have one from 2007 and have had others from like 2012 and they are worlds apart. The strength in the 2007 version is like Mufasa to Bambi, no comparison. The Iris is super strong, the Vanilla is bombastic, the Amber is very present and the Cedar later in the drydown comes to you. The lasting power on this can be as much as a week on clothing and on the body, 24 hours if not touched or longer. I can't believe the power of this truly is amazing. The 2012,2013, 2014 version just don't last the same way. The lasting power of those are around 5 or 6 hours and certainly is watered down too. The smell isn't the same either, it's super light. All in All, if you can find versions from 2007 to 2011, do so, you won't be disappointed.

Smuag

Vanilla, Vanilla and Vanilla …
When I tried Dior Homme Intense for the first time, I found it sweet (very sweet) like a Carrot jam. I think Vanilla is most powerful scent in this fragrance. Vanilla scent is so powerful that other scents have pulled over. I understand the comments about the "lipstick smell" and I am agree with them. I like "DHI" but I didn’t realize that why people keep saying “sexy” about this fragrance or others fragrances.
What is the criterion of fragrance to be considered as “sexy”? I think people called the “sexy fragrance” when they received a good feedback from other people about perfumes they wearing.

minababamoradi

My romantic occasion fragrance

Hazazi91

This is precious so divine. Enough has been said about its powderiness and the lipstick vibe don't be put off by that it's a masterpiece one of the best creations in fragrance industry. I love it! It's hard to choose between this and the parfum version both are great if you want more masculine and stronger version go for DHP!

Wooster97

Just got this recently and can't believe it's took me this long to get it!this is amazing!like others have said this is one of my favourite of the Dior homme line!the vanilla and wood are the best mixture and are really noticeable !this lasts all day on me and I can still smell it on my clothes days after!the Dior homme is the best range of aftershaves /perfumes I have ever had! Cannot get over how strong and noticeable it is!sweet yet woody!

renanl158

My favorite from the Dior Homme Line. It's hard to describe a fragrance like this, I mean, it's amazing!
Some say it's too metrosexual, other say it's feminine, but I can't understand why! It's sexy (my girlfriend's favorite one), it's masculine, mature and chic.
When wearing this you must feel like "Hey girl look at me, see how serious and sexy I'm".
Basically, Masterpiece!
I'm curious about The Parfum version, I'll try it later.

Shahram.yari

Yessss.today I bought it 8U01 2008 batch for about 70$ yes its potent but in compare with 2011 has less vanilla more powdery.I own 2015 batch .2008 is more similar to current version than the 2011.I havent opened it yet to judge anout performance.I will update my review soon.

The vintage was a solid 10 in every category imaginable. it was really a niche quality. if you can find it for a reasonable price do not hesitate.

Quality seems good: Th scent smells coherent and complete. It also lasts all day and projects very well.

The smell is however quite feminine, in an "adult woman" way. It reminds me of my grandmother (no idea what she wore), and my girlfriend was horrified when I put it on. She forbade me to ever wear it around her again :D that's a first - and fine by me.

It is soft powdery and somewhat sweet. Not for me.

edit: It's very linear. To me it smells good for 10 minutes and then I'm sick of it :p

As I like to wear powdery fragrances during the cold season, I started hunting around for a new one and tried out Florentine Iris by Ermenegildo Zegna and Dior Homme Intense Eau de Parfum. The latter caught my eye because it comes in a beautifully designed bottle: sophisticated and refined without looking as "baroque" as some other men's fragrances. I consider that a big plus since I associate a certain minimalism with gentlemanly understatement. As I'm an interpreter by profession, I often have to wear suits to work. In my opinion both fragrances lend themselves perfectly to a more formal attire due to their powdery notes. They're equally long-lasting without being overpowering. However, on my skin the dry-down of Dior Homme Intense is less flowery and sweet than that of Florentine Iris. After a day I can still detect a slight whiff of lavender, vanilla and amber, which I find very soothing. It feels a bit like being enveloped in a soft cashmere cardigan after a long day's work. Neither the original Dior Homme Eau de Toilette nor the newer Dior Homme Parfum version have the same soothing dry-down. Oddly enough, the perfume doesn't smell as powdery and doesn't last as long as Dior Homme Intense Eau de Parfum. If you're looking for a powdery fragrance, I'd recommend that you try all of them to find the one you like most. For me it's clearly Dior Homme Intense Eau de Parfum. 10 out of 10 points.

PS: Now that the weather is getting gradually warmer, I find myself wearing Florentine Iris more frequently than Dior Homme Intense. I think it's the more flowery component of Florentine Iris which I find a little more in sync with the warmer season.

heltorn

Very good perfume with superb longevity. Heavy but not suffocating. The only problem I found the more it dries out the more distinctive vanilla appears, so next day your cloths starts smell women perfume.

Perfumeaddict777

I blind bought a large 5oz bottle of this because I heard that it is similar to my beloved discontinued Shalimar Parfum Initial:( not wanting to use up all my P.I i figured this could be a great alternative. When i finally got this in the mail i was suprised how similar it is but....only similar in the opening. It opens with a beautiful iris and vanilla/leather . After a while it turns dark and seductive with a chocolaty leather and iris still lingering. The dry down is the most masculine part imo, it smells of vetiver and leather but still has that yummy warm chocolaty smell. It's quite beautiful! It's a different animal than Shalimar Parfum Initial but i don't mind. I find this very alluring, mysterious, and unique. I haven't smelled this on any one that i know and it's not a fragrace a non perfume loving women would think to wear. Longevity is around 4 to 5 hours on my skin and sillage is soft but i continue to get whiffs of it through out the day. It lasts much longer on clothes up to 8 hours. It is definitely a unisex scent as long as you don't mind a slightly masculine drydown in perfume. Im really loving this and i feel amazing wearing it! It makes me feel powerful , sexy and classy.
Update: I had to come back and say that Dior Homme Intense layers flawlessly with Shalimar Parfum Initial. So any ladies that want to cut back on the number of sprays you use from your treasured P.I , Dior Homme Intense with a couple sprays of Shalimar Parfum Initial on top and it's amazing. ;) smells like the beautiful vanilla, carmel leather dry down in Shalimar P.I and lasts a long time this way. Xoxo

I have a 2016 batch. I honestly like this fragrance a lot. First I thought it doesn't come close to the originial Dior Homme due to lack of complexity and masculinity but as the days get colder, I come to love the warmth of this fragrance more and more !

I have a 2008 batch silver collar still sealed to sell.

This is nothing like your favorite, typical 'masculine' scent. It is rather subtle and unique for a man's fragrance. Not at all overpowering. In fact my husband has a tester for this and I sometimes spritz it on myself as I love the combination of vanilla and powder that makes it smell so unisex. This is also one of those few 'can smell it the next day' perfumes. Extremely long lasting. Can't wait to grab the full bottle. Pure bliss.

wernerdev

I had this perfume a year ago. I bought it because I had the normal Dior Homme before. Loved the tester I tried and loved it the first weeks of use.

But after a few weeks something started to turn over, and I disliked the smell of it. Something food like. At one time in a public space I heard someone say "Hey it smells like coffee cookies (Bastogne cookies from Holland is the right smell) in here.

I was glad I finished the bottled, and I will never buy it again.

Longevity & Sillage are very good though!

James99

So I want to buy a new fragrance and especially one from the Dior Homme line. I bought samples of Dior Homme and Homme Intense. For the people who say this reminds them of Guerlain Shalimar Parfum Initial, they are 100% right on!!!! I could not believe it. The sample I got is 4v02(2014). Personally I don't like this one, Dior Homme to me is much better although quite feminine. So if you are a fan of this one and don't like the reformulated version, you can just get the Guerlain Shalimar Parfum Intial for no more than $40 compared to $80-$160 for Intense.

andronicos

This perfume combines three things that I don't like in perfumes: iris, vanilla and sweet notes. But, in this one (2007 formulation), these three ingredients are combined so perfectly, that I actually love it!

DannyJayJay

Even though it's smells like lipstick, especially when you put it on, it's a quality man fragrance that's real classy and one of my new favourites. Just bought it a couple of weeks ago after trying it out and hearing all the hype, and I was not disappointed. When the iris settles and the powdery and creamy vanilla kicks in, that's when this really shines. And let's not forget about the longevity and the projection. Before i bought this i had never owned a fragrence that has a 24 hour longevity on me, but this one does. It REALLY is an intense version and the projection is crazy, people could smell me from 10 feet away easily.

Scent: 8/10
Projection: 10/10
Longevity: 10/10

BluDeChanel

Has definitely been reformulated, I first smelled a decant of a batch from 2014; smelled amazing and preformed well. Bought a 2015 batch from Fragrancenet and it was a skin scent and vanished within an hour. Highly disappointed.

guidance101

would love to try this fragrance if anyone has any for sale even a small portion please?
thanks

george.r

You honestly cannot go wrong with this one - it is the first perfume I've ever fallen in love with and I don't know what words to use to do it justice. What I love about it is the vanilla note; it's strong, but it's not too strong and it never leaves your skin.

Strong scent, exudes masculinity and confidence. Would maybe say that it's more suited for night, but day works too if the winter in your country is harsh.

Unclecharlie23

This will be my first buy.

Flashadler221, best review I've read in a while - thank you.

Perfect..nothing to say anything, just try it

My nose must be really off because I found this to be rather unpleasant. Both the Original and the Intense.
Smells like bad scented candle. A plasticky one.

My wife thinks it smells like a vanilla candle. I think it's awesome.

Since I became a little bit obsessed by Chanel no. 5, I knew there has to be some parfume for men that is a bit feminine with a similar feeling.. So to this Dior parfum I give A+... I dont know about you, but Im very confused about parfumes by Chanel for men, theyre mostly horrible.
If you like Dior Homme, you may appreciate also Gucci Gucci by Gucci, similar a bit sharper

Martinello

At the moment I am layering it with chanel platinum egoiste and it is great. On its own I find it a bit to sweet.Definitely don't overspray it, it gets cloying if you do.

JezzaN1

Such an incredible fragrance. I already own the regular DH (black stem, 2011) which is why I haven't purchased this one too, as i'm not entirely sure there's enough of a difference for me to need both of them.. but this is some truly exquisite juice.

So elegant, smooth, seductive, classy and the fragrance just evolves beautifully as the hours go by. Highly recommend trying this is if you get the chance!

COMPARAÇÃO LADO A LADO - DHI REFORMULADO X VINTAGE
(SIDE BY SIDE COMPARISON - REFORMULATED VS VINTAGE DHI - sorry, portuguese only at the time, soon the english version!)

Does anyone have the Vintage Dior Homme Intense 2007 formulation for sale?

josevancouver

I love this stuff. I save it for when the weather hits freezing and this feels so good and appropriate. Warm, sexy, long-lasting, beautiful stuff.

Darth Vader

Firstly, this is not true that only existed since 50ml.I have a bottle of 150ml. Secondly, beautiful perfume! Strong, deep and dark. For a moment forget the present, and go in the past! Unfortunately, the real Horror is yet to. It was back in 71., like a nightmare crying, in a hotel bed on the coast. Now my head is burning, and I could write a million stories, if I ever get out here alive. Tales of love and hate and pain, and my fears would truly frighten any ordinary man, but Dior Homme Intense gave me a sign, and I followed he to a hause of light somewhere in the night. Dior Homme Intense, is the best sweet perfume today, in designer rang. Different from others, incredibly projections, top hot aura, and a feeling of great freedom, that even time can't win. Dior, ultimate respect for Homme Intense!!!

thomason

I love it. Good for fall and winter, when it's cold this will warm you up. Purple and nocturnal, its inviting. I feel very comfortable wearing it.

tyrone spencer

Nothing else to say about this. It has already spoken about. Super! Excellent and long lasting. I still smell it from yesterday? Have to keep me a bottle of this at all times. Just smells great! Classic I can see!

This fragrance is discontinued since January / 2011 and hard to find. It could be found from time to time on ebay at price 300$ plus. It soon will become part of history.
The reformulated version is different: three notes were removed and replaced with less quality notes. they removed vanilla , amber and coco and added pear, Ammbrette and lavender.People still confused between two versions and still add reviews in the wrong place as each fragrance has it's own page. The vintage (silver caller) version is better in terms of quality, longevity, projection, and complement factor. It is real masterpiece. The reformulated version still good and better than most of designer fragrances in the market. The lip stick smell found in the opening is something nice and attractive for women which i wondered why people criticize it too much.

My Overall Rating for vintage (silver caller version) as follow:
sent: 10 / 10
longevity: 10/10
projection: 9/10
silage: 9/10
versatility: 8/10
complements: 10/10
Overall: 10/10
(Masterpiece!!!! best fragrance since 2007 till now )

and for 2011 version:
sent: 8.5 / 10
longevity: 8.5/10
projection: 8/10
silage: 8/10
versatility: 8/10
complements: 9/10
Overall: 8.5/10

Ok at first I didn't like this. I thought it was feminem, powdery and lip stick vibish.. But the dry down on this is heavenly after I smelled it the second time I appreciated it more, now I find myself reaching for this masterpiece a lot, and what better time than this time of the year to really bust this one out.
The parfum version is ok, it's a little more in your face with the leather and iris and some say it's a little more masculine, longevity and projection are about the same on me though.
The dry down on this is so not those first words I started this review with... It's so sexy, smoothie and the vinialla leather powder and iris are blended so softly yet here I am, it's no wonder this fragrance gets so much love and is in the hall of fame.
This juice is quality. It's different. It's so seductive. It's better to wear it and not smell it directly but to waft and let the air mix with it and then let the aroma reach your nose...mmmmmmm I'm getting really deep with this now because I'm wearing it and I,m in the dry down 6+ hour stage where I personally think this beast shines :)
Try b4 you buy

mikenac

I smell warm, creamy vanilla, and perhaps cocoa? I do understand the comments about the "lipstick smell". This lasts long for me (8+ hours).

Women want to get closer to you when you wear this for sure.

This says "We can cuddle on a blanket in front of the fire".

veronika.m

When I have enough money to be able to buy any perfume I want, I will buy this one. I am a woman yes, so usually I spend money on female perfumes, so that's why... ;) It's Dior, so nothing cheap, but it's worth the money. I in fact don't like many Dior perfumes, they are too light, very interchangeable with most cheap perfumes (except for Poison), so this one is very very special in the whole Dior range I think. It is very similar to Diptyque Volutes to me.

I smelled it on one guy and fell in love with it / him immediately lol. It is indeed very sexy, yet very sweet for a men's fragrance, so it's just for guys who can wear it well and properly. Would say that in fact it's better on dark haired guys 35+ with dark soul charisma rather blonde sportsmen. I would also prefer to wear it at night rather than at day.
Probably my n.1 in men's perfumes - if I wanted to get something very very extraordinary.

zorkov

masterpiece!!!

landshark321

This is the 2007 vintage version, which I compared to the 2011 reformulation the same day by wearing on different wrists.

Iris, vanilla, cedar, vetiver notes are common to both the 2007 vintage and 2011 reformulated versions, with the iris and vanilla being the strongest. they're both sweet, floral, and woody, and in that sense, they can into a few different categories, and don't seem confined to one season, though they definitely leans to the cold weather, as much because of the notes as due to the strength of the fragrances. I'd say it's more of a formal night scent, given how provocative it is.

To compare the versions: vintage is heavier, more saturated, with a little more projection. The cocoa aspect is much stronger on the vintage, whereas the sweeter note in the reformulation is more like vanilla. The exorbitant costs of obtaining the vintage see

The criticisms of both versions leaning to the feminine side and smelling like makeup and lipstick are warranted, at least to me. Both smell a bit like lipstick and are somewhat powdery, and in those respects, the reformulation isn't one I'll be buying at the current pricing (cheapest I've seen is $71 for a 100ml on FragranceNet), though it's important to note that the strength (though not as strong as the vintage) makes this one worthwhile if you are a fan of the scent, as I get a while out of both versions. And it certainly stands apart from most fragrances, save the rest of the Homme collection.

It doesn't quite live up to the hype, with feminine lipstick smell being a polarizing factor, but it's something I think that ought to be smelled, as it might make a somewhat unique addition for many fans, especially fans of the original Homme.

Both are 7 out of 10

Narseille

DHI just doesn't work on me (my surrounding temp is circa 30 degC daily). It exudes a very weak smell at the cost of ~USD90 per 100mL bottle.

Won't buy, no more.

jmichael09

It was this past Valentines day, I was with a girl. We had an amazing night..it was our first time actually being out together. We had a moment at the end of the night when we were both in my car. She was close and breathed to me softly, "You smell good." Moments like that make every penny spent worth it.

silverarche

Class and beautiful scent, strong longevity and sillage.
The Intense version is much better.

Meskhy

it is good fragrance for night and especially in winter.

lialu

Must be one of the best male fragrances ever! The combination of sexy and safe is wonderful. This is a passionate man you can still trust, that has good taste in clothes and Life and prefers quality in everything, including you. :-)
And the bottle is Lovely!

chanakya

In my very humble opinion, i think this is one of the MOST OVERRATED perfumes! Tried it at the airport and thought i was gonna love it. But that love died out straightaway after i got the bottle. Doesn't last more than a couple of hours. Gave it away as a gift.

abdul hammad:

You are spot on in your description, thanks.

I also have Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, and I agree (after the first about 30 minutes, certainly not the start)

Gandalfsson

Tryed it in a store.

The first impression= I did NOT like it, certainly not, and I was (read more) happy, that I did not blind bought it, as I often do based on reviews here.

I can read here, that some calls it "lipstick" (the start) = I do not know what this is, but it was awfull.

Later - I think it was about 30-45 minutes later - I "sniffed" again on my wrist, and now it was turned into a fantastic smell I really, really love, and I am seriously considering buying it, even I have enough other really good stuff.

Fantastic change.

Svezzy

Loved the bottle, simple and basic but elegant. In my other review I said it can't be compared to the perfume version being two different things. This one is more sweet, lasting and with an amazing projection.
Definitely not sure if recommend this ir the perfume, they are both very nice. Consider its counterpart it's dark side.

wesleyhclark

After seeing "DHI" getting endlessly recommended around these parts, I finally decided to try it via a Nordstrom sample.

I can see what all the hype is about; this stuff is quite nice and one of the very few florals I am willing to wear. (Although I suppose it's really a gourmandy floral.)

The vanilla/cocoa drydown is very pleasant. And it's long-lasting! That's rare. Well done, House of Dior!

Freakmotion

@futbolfan15: you made the best choice ever.

futbolfan15

I have never had the chance to smell it - but I just did a blind buy! Please tell me I made the right decision....

meroo

I don't own this perfume but I tried on and I really like it. My girlfriend says "It is intriguing, it has something different or mysterious". I agree.

For a moment, in a good way, the notes of this perfume seems to be contradicted! there is contrast in different scents in the fragrance and that makes it more "alive" and intriguing.

I would say it suits men who have that calm, classy, manly and mysterious character.

I might give it a go myself and buy one!

abdul hammad

It starts with this weird smell of an old drawer with old make up stuff in it, primarily lipsticks that have
lost their caps. It actually smells more off-putting than it sounds. It can be deplorable. However, wait for 15 to 20 minutes during which the lavender(responsible for that old and musty smell) tones down and the smell transforms into this luxuriously delicious smelling blend of iris and vanilla, which then becomes increasingly cosy and delicious with the passage of time.

It has been mentioned on more than one occasions that this smells like vanilla scented candles, ones in which there is a tinge of tobacco smell which makes for the booziness. Such candles can easily be labelled as DHI and can be sold by Dior at high prices as exclusive candles.

It's also valid to describe this scent as Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille watered down, especially the vanilla, with some iris thrown in.

This is totally worth looking into especially if you're looking for a luxurious vanilla based scent and if you like wearing unisex scents.

If you try this scent you have to give it some time so that it gets past that opening phase. Secondly, don't dig your nose in where you have put the scent to test it, because if you do that old makeup smell can disgust your olfactory senses and may hold you back from exploring this scent any further. Just smell the sillage , the trail, keeping in mind that it's the trail and sillage that people will smell when you'll wear this perfume.

Scent: 8/10, could have been even better if the opening was not that weird
Longevity: 8.5/10
projection: 7/10

Ferrogamo2015

saintmotel

is it just me..?

But i dont think sillage is that great.

Yourhumblenarrator

As a kid I used to rummage through my mom's makeup drawer. It was full of various powders, lipstick, and little, smudged up pocket mirrors. Dior Homme instantly took my back to that time and place. And low and behold, many reviewers share the common opinion that this does smell like a drawer full of makeup. But it also reminded me of something else: the discontinued cult classic that is YSL's M7. The similarities are initially vague but the dry downs of these two colognes are ridiculously identical, and that shouldn't be too surprising considering their notes.

I found Dior Homme Intense to be rather interesting and distinct, though perhaps a bit too sweet. Unfortunately I cannot offer a complete and sincere opinion, because I'm basing this review off of a generous sampling at one of Narita airport's duty free shops. But it definitely caught my attention and I'd love to give it another shot.

Telfo05

glorious long lasting smell.

wife thinks it smells like a vanilla candle

Dior's finest moment

Littlegrassstraw

I do not get carrot notes even if iris often goes "carrots" on me. This is to me smooth and slightly masculine(because of iris), sweet (because of tonka), and warm (because of incense) = super sexy in a put together, non offensive way. It reminds me of Shalimar actually (another vanilla incense) but it is less witchy/special/overwhelming and more smooth/"common". To me that is not nescesarily a bad thing because it means I can wear it with confidence (I don't often feel like a dark sultry exotic witch unfortunately).
In these days of weather getting still colder I love how this gives me a warm, yummy and comfortable feeling. It is very sweet vanilla which is not my thing but I love this one and can't forget about it... Try it out if you have an affinity for slightly masculine scents and are looking for a dry, warm vanilla/insence scent. Absolutely unisex.
Sillage (on the heavy side but not overwhelming) and longevity (looooong) are super even with just a tiny spray.

mikemuscles21

I really like this scent, although I can't wear it every day. I prefer the Parfum recipe, as opposed to this one or the Intense version.
I prefer the Iris in the Parfum version. Actually I LOVE the "Dior Homme Parfum".

The Iris in this one (and the Intense), smells on the feminine side. Too girly. Sort of like boiling carrots, make-up, and lipstick in the opening notes, but I love the other facets of this cologne. It is a mens fragrance, however a rich one, there is almost a texture to it.
Designed for anyone male or female, that wants to smell good.
But I think it was especially designed for those who swallow.

renperd

This behaves like a vanilla bomb on me. I wish I could get hold of the 'other' version to spare me the vanilla overload which really spoils this perfume for me in the long run. By midday I want the vanilla to retreat but instead it perseveres relentlessly. It could've been so much better with the VANILLA toned down.

torog

I'm no expert in perfumes, but for me this is OVERRATED AS HELL. DIOR made this perfume very well and proved that they make quality stuff. The longevity and sillage are so EXCELLENT that they have set a standard for me. When I buy a perfume now I want it to have both a very good longevity and a good scent now that Dior homme intense taught me that a good perfume should and can last. I don't settle for anything less now.

BUT...let's talk about the scent now. For me, Dior put much effort to make an OK scent durable and project well. That's what this perfume is for me: an OK scent with First class projection and longevity. It is present without being aggressive and it lasts. The scent has nothing bad nor magnificence. It isn't a manly scent, nor it isn't something I would like on a woman. It's still my personal opinion but I think this scent shouldn't go in a perfume. IT DOESN'T TRIGGER FEELINGS. That's the most important thing for me in a perfume. I wish I will be able to find perfumes that are as well made as Dior Homme Intense because there is no doubt that apart from the scent this is what every high end fragrance should be.

JF Dufour

I like wear DHI during cold fall or winter (I live at Canada). Sweet, floral, powdery and cacao. Smell very good. Good longevity and projection. I wear also it at work but slightly.

Manny44

@ssg....if its the Vintage then maybe its the Vanilla. Are you sure you dont have the reform? Because that has a pear note.

ssg

I received this one about a year ago and this is the vintage version I'm talking about.

I like it, but I get something of a sherbert note in there that I wasn't expecting! Does anyone else get that, or have I got an off bottle?

Thanks!

Hemphead

I just received my 100ml bottle of this frag the batch no. is 4N02 does anyone here know if this is a good batch or not? Coz i have longevity issues with this one. But yes it does smell great. First spray was like a powdery and a bit sweet creamy scent then that lipstick which i read and hear always in reviews starts to kick in and dries down into a sweet vanilla.

ImAddicted

I love this scent, but I guess it's not so versatile. I can only see it as an office scent. It's powdery in a good way, great longevity, strong but not overpowering sillage and the iris note is very sophisticated. But I can only see myself wearing it to the office.

joov84

a nice powdery smooth creamy scent

this one starts with the lipstick/make-up smell which is mostly attributed to the iris. the vanilla and woods later kick in providing a smooth and slightly delicious combination. the smell is very popular these days and gets me compliments. excellent performance.

9.0/10

Amparo Noir

This is not masculine at all.
Every single development of the fragrance, from top to the dry down describes a 'man', nothing pretentious but real 'man'. One of the fragrances which i love on my husband.
Love it!

Go4broke

For gods sake people, this is a masculine fragrance. Women may wear it, but it is masculine. And amazing. Spray in the morning and be confident you'll be smelling of it all day.

bobosan336

Very nice feminine scent - sweet flowerly bomb. Vanilla floating in a sea of iris (or lipstick), all of that swimming in an ocean of sugar.

Not suitable for any man, no matter how effeminate. Some start with or end with or hint at feminine florals - this is feminine throughout. Blind buyers do not fret - your significant other will almost surely like it so you can gift it to her and you will love it on her.

Bcshak

I anxiously waited until I was finally able to try it, only to be greatly disappointed by the sheer lack of masculinity in this fragrance. No offense to those who love it but this smelled GREAT on my wife and made me smell just like her, which to me isn't something a man or a woman should want. Longevity and Sillage are fantastic though! My wife will enjoy the remainder of the sample for those special occasions and I may just get it for her. For me, I'm just shocked at how popular this is as a mens fragrance but to each his own. One off my list and more for the rest of you.

scentence

Reminds me of a powder back in the 80s called saturday night. Sweet scent & the stay power is super amazing. Perfect for date nights.

Coffee King

Oh my days, Dior, what have you created with this one, the answer is a masterpiece. I cannot believe how good it smells, it is unbelievable, and lasts for ages, love love love. Reignited my interest in Dior.

Top 5 on my shelf for life. Smells great initially and gets better as it dries down. Very potent juice, intoxicating!

Chuckphilpott

Pure genius. One of the best investments I have made in frags. If the vintage is better I'm amazed cause it would have to be 11/10 cause this guy is a 10

courant

I almost hesitate to review it, another woman is staking her claim on a fragrance that clearly states 'homme' And that is the difference between unisex perfumes such as Serge Lutens and many Eau de Colognes that are worn by women but presented in a masculine way; this one has it in its title. Oh dear, too bad, I wear it, it's mine, in all its lipstick irisy goodness. BTW lipsticks don't smell this good anymore but I clearly remember the Chanel and Guerlain lipsticks of the past that did have this base scent.
I just bought a large bottle of Eau du Sud in the squarish male bottle because it was almost half the price of the identical juice in the be-ribboned female one. Hmmm, enuff said. The contents:
iris, cocoa, vanilla, pencil shavings, the barest touch of spearmint (the vetiver and lavender combined) and there she goes. Spray it on a perfume card (a proper one, not any old thing) and take it home for a day or two. As Arnie said "You'll be back"

EnglishCountryGarden

Dark, sweet and terribly seductive. I have never smelled this on a man. Women wear it. I can't blame them. I bought a bottle too. There is a duality to this fragrance, a tight, chill floral note, which is full of ice and dust, but the dust is warm powdered cocoa. The "less is more" vetiver is used just right, reminiscent of the Greek perfume shop I haunted on vacation. It is dry, warm and woody, not resinous at all, you can almost hear the parched branches snap with this. Yet .... that little hint of ice shards. All in all, this is one of the classiest fragrances around. I do hope Dior don't go changing it.

Guapo

Fantastic! Very good, full of character.

Vladimir0102

Class in a bottle.

sdcga161

What an odd scent. I blind bought a small bottle this past week based on the multitude positive reviews I've read. I don't regret the purchase, but I'll have to let this one settle for a bit. I definitely find the waxy lipstick trace immediately, but it disappears after half an hour or so, and I'm not exactly sure what I'm left with. It's...interesting. Again, I'm going to think on this one for a bit. It has me intrigued for sure.

smell8

The best designer fragrance ever! Amazing smell, amazing projection and amazing longevity. Going on a date? reach for this one... It will even take your bad looks away if that's the case lol Every single time I got this on I get compliments and I just love the smell. This is for the man with class, mature.

Smell - 10/10
Projection - 9/10

A stripped down sexier version of Dior Homme. Some notes are removed from the original, but the remaining notes are amped up to compensate. A very unique and seductive fragrance.

lribis

It's a nice perfum, though it's rather feminine after several hours. In the beginning, it has besides the floral and soft powdery note a distinct woody and spicy touch. I really loved that phase lasting up to 4-5 hours. However, after 5 hours (longevity really good...up to 12 h) or so it becomes very powdery and the vanilla is really intense. After 5 hours, I could only smell vanilla, soft, warm sweet vanilla...I think it turns very feminine at the end.
So, I am not sure whether this is for everyone and whether the ladies will like it.

moosa1980

i love this parfum alot, it is clean, sexy and long lasting .

Unfortunately, it has now come to my attention that this fragrance is a hype monster, IMO. This juice is readily available here in Mexico, and, while it does smell good, I am not detecting that much of a difference from the original Dior Homme. Both smell good, but the intense version is not different enough to be purchased, if you already have the original. That is my take.

andronicos

I definitely prefer this formulation than the 2011 one!

yuresh

what month is it alawode?

alawode

Just got DHI today {2013 batch code}, and i can confirm that it smells exactly like the vintage version. I thinks its now certain that Dior fixed whatver they messed up in the previous reformulation

louisminaj

I am a young guy, but my taste in aftershave is very mature, I dont like aftershaves like One million or Le male (too overdone and almost 'chavy') I like to have a men's fragrance that no one else wears, thats why I wear A*men, because no one my age wears it! So I was in Debenhams and as a fan of Dior Homme, I thought I would give this one a shot and oh my god, it was love at first smell! This is one of the sexiest smells! The first burst nearly took me out with the overwhelming powder smell, but after about 2 minutes, the vanilla just exploded and just made me love it! This is such a distinctive smell and the projecetion and longevity is amazing! I can not wait for a bottle of this as I do belive this could be a contender for my favourite aftershave! Watch out Mr. Mugler!

PhantomPhenomenal

You already know about the notes and pretty much every other review on here touches on the fact that it smells like lipstick or make-up; and while this comparison is somewhat true, you all need to realize that DHI is so much more than that. This scent really needs to be experienced by you. You can read all the reviews but the scent isn't done justice otherwise.

Not only does it have an extraordinary scent, it lasts for days and projects pretty well. If you thought the opening was marvelous, the drydown is downright heavenly.

SS: Backstage of a prestigious theatre. Performers are on a high and smiles all around, congratulating one another on a successful show. Chocolate treats and bouquets of iris adorn the dressing rooms.

Definitely not for everyone, but if you're modern, confident, and have the swagger to pull this off, Dior Homme Intense will serve you well, my friend. Very well.

Possibly my favorite fragrance at the moment. DHI and I are kind of in a passionate love affair. I'm hard pressed to find a fragrance I adore more than this sexy beast.

Dark. Sexy. Modern. Hypnotic. Alluring. Intense. Beautiful.

There's a lot to be said about this fragrance. I probably won't fit it all in this little review but I'll try at least.

Dior Homme Intense is a game changer in the designer world. Probably one of the best designer scents ever made. This scent is most definitely unisex and I can see a guy or girl pulling it off.

The Scent: The first thing that you will probably get is that Iris. It's so buttery and kind of feminine, but guys, don't let that scare you away. That opening is the beginning to something magical. That iris note does linger for a long time, but on the dry down, I get a warm, gourmand like feel. The amber in here creates that warming vibe. Some reviewers on Basenotes, as well as YouTube, say they get a cocoa type dry down. I get that a little bit, but not so much as L'Instant de Guerlain Extreme, which is for sure and unmistakably cocoa. The scent alone is enough for a buy. It revolutionized the designer game as we know it today. Rating: 9/10

Longevity: DHI does not disappoint in this department. Lasted me all day at work AND THEN SOME. 10+ hours any given wearing. I know what I'm getting with this thing and that is a good thing. Any designer that goes over 8 hours is definitely getting some high ratings. Rating: 10/10

Projection: This is the part that most of you will love. DHI creates a massive scent cloud. It is very aromatic and will leave a scent trail long after you're gone. I stood next to a girl at work, moved for maybe 2 minutes and she said it still smelled like me when I came back. I was like, "That's what I'm talking about!" It projects solid for a good 6 hours for me. I'll take it any day of the week ladies and gents. Rating: 9/10

Price: Okay here's where it gets a little iffy. DHI can be kind of high or REALLY high. The main reason for that is that DHI has been hyped up like crazy. If you go on any fragrance groups or check out the countless lists and reviews on YouTube, you will find DHI in there I GUARANTEE it. Not only that, DHI has been reformulated. There are some elitists who will argue with you until they are blue in the face that the vintage is head and shoulders above the reformulation. I'm here to tell you, the drop off isn't that noticeable. The only difference is the opening. The reason I'm trying to warn you guys from the vintage is that it sells for a RIDICULOUS amount online. Go on ebay and look it up and if you find a bottle of vintage DHI for less than 100 bucks, I want you to send me a message with a link to that page because chances are it doesn't exist. Be careful with this juice because it is highly sought after and in some cases it can be hard to find. Rating: 7/10

Final Rating: 8.7. This is a must buy. If you can find it, get your nose on it. I think once you smell it and see what it can do for you, it'll end up in your daily rotation. Let me know what you guys think of it.

Very long lasting. Pure quality but IMO does not project enough, more of a close quarters `combat` sent when you know your going to get up close and personal....

bourie

i wasnt as impressed with this fragrance as the reveiws made it sound,i think ill stick with encre noir

Krupp

For a man in his best age, it can be hard to admit a mistake. But I have to do it in case Dior Homme Intense that I have both mocked and called weak and volatile. But it is neither - you just need to apply more than the two spritz that I otherwise started with. If you do that, you meet the nicest creamy scent that lasts all day with moderate spread. I understand its popularity - and it gives compliments from the beautiful gender!

Marciu

I don't get it. There's more comments here than in Dior Homme Intense 2011. Do you know that THIS one is almost gone? I don't believe all of you have tested THE VINTAGE 2007 version. I haven't, so I haven't commented it, up 'till now.

Sorry for bothering anyone, if I am.

kaysee

My friend just bought me the 50ml for my bday!
I love love love it.
(Still not as good as the original 2007 pre-formulated juice).

Powder lipstick sweet masculine.
Longevity is great but I'd say weak projection.
I wish I could turn back time and get 1578546401 bottles of the original. :(

nataliapyy

It smells like lipstick, femenine, serenely unisex, but not my style at all.
Has an excellent longevity, and the fragrance isn't bad, in fact is nice but too safe. Too much iris for me.

It might be sexy for most but for me is too girly, i'm sorry, it's my opinion.

Manny44

Well, I have to say I mostly agree with those who call this overrated. Maybe if I didn't own and love L'Instant
De Guerlain Extreme and Tom Fords Tobacco Vanille, I would be slightly more impressed by Dior Homme Intense, but ultimately this a nice enough, slightly personality-less winter evening scent. Its not all bad though, the iris note in the top is interesting and the vanilla dry down is really nice. 7 / 10.

mofojo74

this is my current love affair, believe the hype, its been a while since i got excited by a fragrance, with the current trend being projection monster sweet explosisions, its refreshing to have this in your collection!! i feel exclusive, individual, classy and special!! i have the black collar 100ml and am already looking for a back up bottle!! ITS THAT PHENOMENAL!!!

Saeidreza

This doesn't do it for me, smells nice but performance is weak on me. I like the first half better!

alimuanis

i dare anyone wear this fragrance and never getting asking from people what he wear and a lot a lot from compliment Especially women.

Uniqueness 8/10
Longevity 9/10
Compliments 10/10
Bottle design 10/10

Eddie2082

This fragrance is one of the best. I have a 50ml and am looking for 100ml at the moment.

No need to over spray...2 to 3 will do it for the rest of the day.

Nicely done

MCvitic

I just got this.. and I am already in love !

This stuff is just amazing

At the begining the main note that you'll get, is some kind of "lip stick". After 10-15min the "sex" begins :D
A lot of vanilla, very warm... You can see really quick that is one of those high class perfumes

When I finish this bottle, I am definitely going for another one !

So, who can wear this... I don't think it is made for teenagers, 20 and up..It is for real gentlemans, business people..
When to wear it ??
Fall/Winter, mostly at the night...

Overall I'll give it 10/10 (because it is unique, smells great, has great longevity and sillage)

Dior you did an excellent job with this fragrance, tnx.

genesis1501

Recently got myself a 150ml bottle and I must say, I absolutely love this fragrance. It lasts well over 17 hours on my skin (sometimes even 24+ hours).

In the drydown I get this cookie dough mixed with vanilla vibe, It's amazing and very pleasant.

I love how this fragrance is pretty much unknown in my country (almost every guy here wears one million, le male or hugo boss), but that might change soon.

Sillage: 9.5/10
Scent: 10/10
Longevity: 10/10
Uniqueness: 10/10

You can't go wrong with this one IMO and I haven't even smelled the vintage version of DHI.

drakecito

This is another joke of this brand, cheap marcadillo worth.
This brand consumer scam. Take a perfume and reformulates it a few months and is so happy.
Reformulation in Dior Homme Sport is the same joke.
Curiously always get worse ...

Dior: 0/10

Come children, blot out my review again...
This is the 4th time I put it ....:D:D:D:D

UPDATE: Smell of actual fragance (formulation):
Too light fragance. A lot of iris with a touch of synthetic wood an cacao.
Boring, overpriced and without personality.
I have not tried the first formulation but it does not seem difficult to be better than this joke.

cachuli

I'm totally agree with the opinion of @drakecito about Dior and their reformulations. It's a joke.
And in any case is an opinion.
Otherwise, Guerlain L'Instant is much better than this.

@Izaokas

I think that the only dumb person here is you.

Marciu

@FlashAdler221 - as far as I know you have the REFORMULATED version, because reformulation took place in April 2011, not August...

sameh_50

i dont know why all the hype around that perfume l'istant is way better than that one

scent so good

MY MISTRESS... MY OTHER WOMAN... THE ONE I WILL HOLD DEARLY THROUGH THE NIGHT. DIOR HOMME INTENSE MY MOONLIGHT GET AWAY.

tomtom44

Sorry, don't get what all the hype is about. For me this is just very strong smelling chocolate milk - the kind you used to drink as a kid - with not much change in the dry down. Although it's not overly feminine it's still a little too feminine for me. I was hoping for so much more from this fragrance but it just isn't there for me.

Of course taste in fragrance is so subjective but I thought I would be safe with a blind buy after reading all the amazing reviews of this fragrance here... Oh well you live and learn.

pharhanbadar

no offence but it smells like a lipstick.

Roaylflush

This is my favourite all time smell. Only issue for me is that the sillage is big for about an hour yet after that very limited. Longevity is poor on my skin which is a shame as such a great fragrance. Not one for me for a night out, more for my own personal enjoyment.

Geordieboy

I blind bought this due to the reviews on here and i have to say oh my effin god! It is amazing!!! I think i have found a new favorite. How and why i havn't bought this long before now i do not know! It is pretty much perfect! The longevity is great too. Everything about it is just wow. I would recomend this to anyone anywhere anytime.

nedalovich

smells like cosmetics

At the time the scent was of high quality. If you have a bottle prior to 2009 keep it safe, it was the old version of Dior Homme on a background of apple cinnamon pie. The materials used were doing the difference.
2009-2012 Amber becomes increasingly present.
2013 Today it is mostly a very commercial vanilla amber with a little cocoa-iris. Good but queasy.

Houdini4

Obviously I love this masterpiece, it's held in such high regard by many people but I've always opted for Dior Homme and I've never owned this version despite knowing truly how good it is.
I think now I need a little more intensity, so I will have to get this at some point.

pbatemman26

I have a lot of niche brand colognes but wear this one A TON. Especially for goinig out/nights. I don't think its an office or day scent. Too strong- but really good, sexy, girls like it.

doctor ziyad

dior homme = the best ever
no one can resist such a perfume
love it

marceldijkman

I get something like pouder, crayons and caramel out of this. Not bad. To me this is like Midnight In Paris with a high pricetag. For me it's simple wich one to buy. Try both and thank me later. :)

FRAGRANCE UPDATE* I simply can't believe my eyes with some of these negative comments.. I realize everyone has their own taste and opinion, but to say that this scent smells bad is borderline blasphemous!! Maybe they received bad bottles or tried to wear during hot months, I don't know but I'm baffled by this.. (This juice peaks better during cool to cold months, preferably winter) Dior Homme Intense is a bonafide MASTERPIECE!!! The iris lipstick note makes it pop, and adds that unique abstract vibe. Then you have a dark chocolate and vanilla combo to add the seductive sweetness, and the powder to even it out and bring out the freshness.. I wear this when I'm stepping out on the town or to formal functions and events, and it delivers uber sophistication and richness.. I've received a ridiculous amount of compliments each time.. It takes a certain caliber of man to pull this off, and if you're in that upper echelon of your gender "Stop bullshyting" and get this juice!! This fragrance is extraordinary I have 3 bottles..Ten out of Ten in all categories extremely high recommendation from me!!!!!

tolgaselcuk

superb longevity filled with a very nice vanilla all the way..
great projection.. 1st class...
yes it does smell like lipstick,
yes some can find it feminine,
but dior intense lasts, projects perfect on the skin..
and is of one my favs..

evilspin

I just bought this at the Dior Boutique(thank God cause I have been wanting this since its release & no store carries it only Dior (for $72), Ebay but for over $150 and Duty Free shops at airports which only sell it if your flying international) :( I had to have it since I love the regular Dior Homme & just had to try the intense version because you would think it has to be better if its the parfum version right? This is not always the case. Although they both smell the same at first whiff, Parfum versions are not the same fragrance stronger. They usually contain different or added notes to the composition. Which can be a let down sometimes when it can smell a bit different during drydown. While EVERYONE is complaining about Dior Hommes reformulations, they are both good. I even had the old style bottle which was plastic silver which didnt show its juice content. The Dior Homme Intense was also released twice. In Eau de toilette And the Parfum version. In anycase, now that I got the Intense version its not bad but i still enjoy the regular Dior Homme best. The Intense has something a bit different than Dior Homme. It has more of a musky powdery, cedar wood and stronger cocoa notes in it which you sense at drydown. The regular is more of a softer version & with nice vanille notes to it. I also noticed that Dior Homme intense was released twice. This is the older one which has a silver neck collar and black tube and its EDT and better than the parfum version which has a black neck collar and black tube. The first Intense was limited edition and much better than the parfum version because the drydown is more pleasant due to the vanille & lavender concoction. The Parfum is more musky with cocoa and cedar at drydown.

cristina.rizzi

Right, you boyz need a girl feedback here.
First of all let me say that was a good decade since I last smelled a cologne this good!
Secondly, a man that wears it can only come across as alfa-ultra confident, ultra attractive to women. Why? Who else could ever pull this off??

We are talking of a man with strong personality, not at all shy, not fussed or bothered to smell like a giant walking lipstick (he perspire confidence, so no problem!), nor to end up in the soft/sweet chooser bunch.
This because women LOVE a man that smells of what they like (yes, amber/vanilla/iris).
We do like also marine, woody colognes, but most women are put off by strong spices, citrus in general (they remind us of washing up soap!) and too earthy wood scents. Or moss, so as you know it.
Colognes like Jean Paul Gautier, Issey Miyake, Farheneit, Kenzo (first one) or O de Lancome are what 90 women out of 100 would fall in love with.
Mostly because they are gentle to our refined and very sensitive nostrils, but also because in our imaginary men wearing them are without a doubt dandy, uber cool and sexy. We like that we need to get closer to you to smell the intriguing mixture; not to be punched in the face by it!
Just think of when you came across a woman wearing marvellously a man's cologne? Intriguing and very, very sexy.
I'll remember forever a guy that years ago drove me on the verge of insanity by wearing Escape perfume. He was one of the coolest guys I've ever met... and became my boyfriend, to my delight :P

I myself wore some of the colognes I mentioned here and my favs of all times are and will be Kenzo, Farheneit, Theorema by Fendi (discontinued!!!) and Dior Homme Intense.
Every time I wore them both men and women asked me what was the lovely scent that enveloped me, so here's the easy equation: wear what women like and you'll get plenty of attention.
Plus this cologne is AMAZING, let's be clear on it!
10/10 on ANY man, as long as he'll wear it together with its virility.
Hope this helped :)

pronose

to me it smells like a suntan lotion!!!!! that's all too much hype for peanuts..............

bcoops

After wearing this frag for a while I will say its definitely better then the reform. performance is much better on my skin I wear this out on the town and can still smell it wafting off me in the morning. I am not to crazy about the scent at that stage thou..not quite sure what Im smelling at that point. There are times I get a strong cookie dough vibe and that is when this stuff is the BEST....I dont always get it but when i do its amazing.....the reform is quality but it doesnt replace the original.....bottles up to april 2011 do deserve a premium

petranfx

wich are the diffrents between the 2007 dior intense and the 2011 reformulation.Τhere are differences in the bottle presentation ?Please tell me if you know somethink about the original dior intense and the newest reformulation

omerpervaiz

With due respect to all the DHI fans out there I am one more to say that I am not convinced I really respect their thoughts nd opinions but I really don't want to smell like a lipstick or females' vanity box this idea doesn't appeal me at all. I do agree its subtle powdery calm fragrance but too feminine for my taste. Besides cosmetic thing I could also smell earthiness like the smell of dirt in it. Longevity and silage seems to be descent but I am not gonna wear it anyway.
disappointing for me :/ :/ :/ 4 0ut of 10.

ali pontiac

Very Respectable Gentle perfume, one of my signature collection, from long time i did't buy something such great like this the powedery smell soo sexy and the smell last too.

vaibsankhla

DHI, a very contradictory fragrance.

Strong(good longevity and projection) yet subtle.
Sweet (chocolate powder, vanilla and iris) yet masculine.

Smooth smelling all the way from start to finish. very sauve fragrance.

As a first take- very unexpected, most people may not even appreciate it.

Iris is very prominent through the opening and the heart. transitioned by the vanilla, chocolate and amber at the end.

It is hyped! will not be missing too much if you end up buying the reformulated version.

One of the gems in the cologne world. very unique to me.

Smell of a confident man who is comfortable with himself!

solid 9/10. special occasion smell.

hansito

DHI, the best fragrance ever, in my skin last more than 18-20 hours, it's insanely awesome. The drydown is paradise, at the begining it's too lipsticky but then the monster manifests. Warm, chocolate, sweet, vanilla and VERY SEXY. DIOR HOMME INTENSE, the best parfume ever (I own an eau d' parfum).

anna.dkr5

@djuzz.becuzz - you have the reformulated version (black collar). It's the one with ambrette musk instead of vanilla.

djuzz.becuzz

I own this one since a few days. I purchased it online after I tested it in a store.
In my opinion this can definitely be worn by a young lady like myself, due to it's sweetness and warmth.
I have no idea which version I have, but I think I am posting my review with the correct one ;)
My bottle comes with black colar and the juice does not look too dark.
At the very opening I get this heavy lipstick note.
I don't detect the lavender, but I do get the powdery iris, creamy vanilla, warm amber, cedar and vetiver.
In the dry down the scent gives me this lovely, gourmand-like chocolaty-vibe.
I find this to be a very sensual scent. It's sweet, it's warm and very alluring!
It lasts forever on my skin and projects nicely!

andronicos

@faraz
This one of course!!!

juan carlos.henriquez

me encanta el dior homme, este me muero de verdad por probarlo, e leido maravillas q me tientan a probarlo, este esta en mis proximas pruebas y creo q es el perfume q mas quiero oler.

Puds1970

Faraz, I tried both the Chanel Bleu and DHI simultaneously last week. One on each arm, and the DHI seemed to last longer. But get good longevity from both.

Puds1970

Just received this after testing last week, and I love it.
The longer you wear it the better it smells. A bit cosmetic on first contact but very quickly turns into a very unique stunner.
Maybe not great in the heat, but not yet tested it in that climate, and as I live in England it could well be the perfect scent as we're not noted for our hot climate.
A definite for my upcoming holiday for evening wear.

ayslan5

i have 63 parfuns. i hate this one. I must be only person on the planet hate this parfum!!!!!!eheheheh

Tricky2beat

First time I could not get around the Iris and the powdery feel. After a few more times I started to appreciate it and understand all the hype.

faraz

which one is best and good longevity between dior intense and bleu de Chanel ? please need an honest opinion..!!

WillSeanTaylor

Where can I find this ?
I've been searching for months
