The special thing about this scent to me is that it manages to be sweet but grounded without the use of patchouli. I used to really enjoy patch but over the years I've gotten less and less tolerant of it. Maybe just over exposure to so many crass fruitchoulis in the world. Maybe an odd thing in my brain. I have a 30ml decant that doesn't seem to be evaporating but it's still tempting to grab a bottle, even at current prices. There's nothing quite like this one.

Got my first Madonna perfume today and I loved it so much It was love at first sniff.

The perfume opens up with the bottom notes it was very spicy, chocolaty, vanilla and as it drys down its very sweet and warm super cosy this fragrance would be great for winter season.

My nose did pick pick up a similar note such as the Cacao and it does remind me of Rihanna Rebel but it’s not exactly the same and both are nice perfumes For example Rihannas version is a lot more coffee and Madonna’s is more floral and vanilla.

Truth or dare naked last quite a long time which is really good for a celeb perfume and it does smell expensive too although Rihanna Rebel doesn’t last as long as Madonna so there is a big difference.

Overall Truth or dare Naked is such an amazing fragrance. This is a safe blind buy well to me it was because I never seen it and smelt it as I was in high school as this was released at the time.

Looking forward receiving my original truth or dare.

I previously wrote a review on this in 2021. Well, I'm still enjoying this rich, chocolate amber fragrance during the winter season. Lately, I found a beautiful layering combination for it. I add Ari by Ariana Grande on top. This produces a sweet & spicy, hot chocolate & marshmallow scent that is delicious.
These two fragrances have vanilla orchid & lily of the valley notes in common that help them blend well together. If you have these two celebrity fragrances try it out, you may find you love too.

wafflesandsyrup

It is nice, warm ambery scent. Spices and amber.
If somebody from Lithuania want it, let me know, I have around 20 ml of 50 ml bottle left, all I'll ask for is to pay for shipment. The scent is good, but not 'wow' to me and I have too many scents that are way more interesting and way more liked by me than this one, making me not to reach for it. I'd rather find my perfumes nice and loving new home than for it to be sitting on my shelves just taking up space.

dcjimr

This one really surprised me. The quality surpasses what I paid for this, which smells more niche level than a celebrity fragrance. A floral amber that smells a bit rich with, to my nose, the amber elements taking center stage over the floral notes. Could be a Kilian creation.

The.notorious.n.a.p.p.e.r

I have a bottle available for sale/swap. Located in Australia.

For anyone who's looking for an alternative to this, the notes aren't the same, but Zara currently has one for men called Sand Desert at Sunset that has a very similar overall affect, at least on me. I bought it for a male friend and am buying a bottle for myself, for when I inevitably run out!

Whify

Two words: surprisingly good!

More words: yummy, scrumtious, warm, cozy, sweet(ish), addictive, long lasting, cold weather scent. Reasonably-priced (on ebay) as could pass for high end designer or niche rather than celebrity! Love it so much I've bought two back up almost full bottles! Sorted!

Nickj3216

Brought this as a blind buy in the body lotion on ebay for 15 dollars new- and this is a hidden gem for sure 🥹

Dorange Sense

This is highly underrated, it does smell niche to me and *unpopular opinion*: is one of the best sandalwood fragrances. The other would be Diptyque Tam Dao (very different than this one though mind you!). Sad that it had been taken down from the markets. Madonna did a good job deciding for this concoction!

LSAUG

Naked smells like peach brandy in the opening. Then it becomes a tuberose musk, if such a thing exists. Coco butter nuances fade in and out. Orchid is there and it is a vanilla orchid smell. This is very, very boozy and very, very sweet. Like a sweet vanilla orchid, peach brandy, coco butter, tuberose, musk lotion scent. Such a shame Naked and the original Truth or Dare have been discontinued. Both of these are very nice perfumes and would sell. This becomes a bit animalic in the dry down. This is quite sexual and I can see men loving this on a woman. A perfect perfume to make love w/. I would love full bottles of both of these perfumes. They both are very versatile, at least for my life they would be. Let me just put it this way, this is sex in a bottle.

I get some of the DNA of the original w/ Naked. I still smell tuberose but that maybe the animalic oud instead.

Edit: 7/10/22 I just took this off my want shelf. The funny thing is Naked is very similar to Elizabeth Taylors Black Pearls which I already own. Both of these perfumes have a peach skin quality. If you want a perfume that comes close to Naked and it is super cheap try Desnuda. It also has that peach skin smell. And my husband likes Black Pearls better. Naked is a bit funkier, which he dislikes. I still say it is a shame Naked and the original T&D are no longer in production. They both are really good perfumes.

The first whiff is brandy, close your eyes and the croupier, whose hands dripping with Turkish honeysuckle kolonya, start shuffling the cards, with this you're transported into a 17th-century hall, where the crimson walls are dimly lit with enormous wax candles, some of the guests are drinking hot cacao beside you and the lily of the valley you gently squeezed into your bosom is oozing with a cold sensuality. At the first hand of the game, your cards are an ace of hearts and a joker. You look up to see the Russian men sitting across to you, he winks suggestively; you know what it means... The benzoin and sandalwood are the dust particles of Renaissance women: antique, unquestionably beautiful, frigidly sensual (which is a very teasing type of sensuality) kind, mysterious and mature.

The longer it stays on my skin the more religious the reverie becomes. The libertine takes the cross, gives herself to the incense of the church rather but the booziness remain, the one who gets drunk once will never cleanse her breath from the sins. This woman is a woman of amoral tastes, but they're also superior, she knows how to enjoy herself and others, she's kind but cruel, you can never blame her for loving love itself, and her presence is comforting like a cup of tea. She asks to be consumed but does it with the delicacy and lust of a black panther.

I'm really sorry that they are discontinuing Madonna's Truth or Dare fragrances. Both are exceptionally great perfumes. I'm glad I had the pleasure of sampling them and wearing them.

I reviewed Burberry's "The Beat" perfume earlier this week. My first impressions of The Beat were that this is very similar to Madonna's 2nd perfume "Truth or Dare". It isn't that they have the exact same ingredients, but the chemical interplay of notes on the skin is very similar. The Beat is primarily a tea based perfume. If you are seeking something similar, I would definitely sample this.

Burberry's "The Beat" is slightly less mature, it is young - but not juvenile. It is more casual, with the tea type perfume and cola notes. If you like the 2nd Madonna "Truth or Dare" based on the interactive quality of notes, you won't be disappointed with "The Beat". I'm pleasantly surprised by both "Truth or Dare" perfumes by Madonna - but particularly like this unique quality of the notes dancing on the skin with this 2nd perfume.

cm66

As other reviewers have stated If you can get past the wtf opening, 5/10 minutes this turns into an incredible scent. Coty dropped the ball discontinuing this &Truth or Dare.

I found the 75ml testers at a local perfume shop for $26. It is beautiful. Slightly sweet, floral and woody. Some say it's sexy. I find it a very warm and cozy scent. It wears closer to the skin and lasts about 3-4 hours tops so re-applying is necessary. That's fine with the price I paid but I wouldn't overpay online if that's the only place you can find it. Otherwise, absolutely gorgeous scent.

Mamatutuboys

Horrifically sour at first spray--peachy rhubarb. Almost smells like the scent has gone bad. Five minutes later beauty starts to peak out. Ten minutes later the oud, cocoa, and the benzoin make this much more sophisticated than anticipated. The opening made me almost throw it out, glad I didn't.

theuntrainednose

I have a sample.
----

Interesting warm and oddly soapy scent.

I will have to retry it on another day as today my stomach is not handling fragrances well, though.

jayznar

i’m glad i snagged this for cheap when it was in stock last year. if you missed out on this, don’t buy this for over $60+, it’s not worth it. it smells synthetic and old. like stinky cheap amber and an obnoxious cacao note, verry horribly mixed together too.

Petrichor31

I purchased this as a blind buy two years ago when it was still available at one of the Canadian online fragrance stores at a reasonable price. It was so good that I immediately purchased another one as a gift for my sister who also loves it. I love wearing it in the winter especially around the holidays. The sweet cocoa with oud and woods just says Christmas time to me. It smells much better when I spray it on me than it does when I sniff the sprayer. I think this sometimes stops me from applying it. Once it warms on the skin, it is delicious without being sweet and quite easy to wear since it never overwhelms. I thought the longevity & sillage was poor until it was noticed and commented on by a friend when I could no longer notice it on myself. She thought it was was Calvin Klein Euphoria, so perhaps that smells somewhat similar? In some aspects, I find it similar in feel to Jessica Simpson Fancy but that one is very sweet with lots of vanilla and caramel and stronger sillage & longevity. This also has a similar feel to the drydown of Angel Muse. It is sad that this is discontinued but I only wear it for six weeks of the year & occasionally at bedtime so I still have 2/3 of my 90 ml bottle to enjoy before it disappears forever for me. I would never have purchased this if I had not read the positive reviews here. I'm so happy I took a chance on this blind buy. Most of my blind buys do not turn out this well.

Sheylor.Oliver

Wow…this is the perfume that I think of when I hear the saying “they all ways discontinue the best…” This is the most stunning warm and ambery fragrance ever! The cacao and sandalwood are truly magical together. This is one of the few fragrances that I have multiple backup bottles of. I just can’t help myself.

artpopmixer

The fact that coty discontinued this and the original is a crime.

Nataliemarie

The opening is hard, a boozy peachy tobacco. It changes in the drydown a lot. That's when I can smell the cacao & sandlewood & it mellows out. I wanted it,..It was a blind buy & I know it's getting harder to find. But I def would not repurchase. I'll be doing good to use this much unless I drastically change my mind. I LOVE the OG Truth or Dare! Polar opposites & I knew that when I bought it.
I keep forgetting that dark Amber smells tobacco-ish to me. JUST b/c I dont' like tobacco, I guess.

shokravee

This scent grows on you! I was a bit disappointed after reading so many good reviews and smelling this in person, but I bought it anyway. The cacao and orchid are well-done done in this fragrance and I get a hint of amber and fruits, but very faintly. It's absolutely NOT mind-blowing but it smells designer level to say the least, and specifically Valentino Myrrhe Absolute.

Natashaps01

I did see anotner person say that it reminds them of Jessica Simpson Fancy. Well, I could not agree more!
My 14 yo daughter has that perfume and we compared the two side by side. They are very similar, however, TorD Naked is a lot less sweet and much better and mature smelling. Smells more expensive too.

This starts with a spritz that dances on the skin, it is interactively active with my chemistry -- there are only a few fragrances that do this... so this quality makes Madonna's Truth or Dare Naked - unique.

As this wears, it tones down into more of a sensuous chord on the skin... growing more quiet and faint with time. By about four hours of wear, this is hardly noticeable on my skin, but I pick up some nice musk type notes.

Madonna's Truth or Dare Naked Perfume is like a slight modification and toned down version of Kenzos L'Elephant blended with some notes that are found in Estee Lauder's Sensuous Nude. If you are torn about the power and strength of Kenos L'Elephant, you may find a better resonance with Madonna's Truth or Dare Naked Perfume. They are in the same family, only different strengths and notes.

This is very different than Madonna's original Truth or Dare perfume, which is a very high Tuberose - with almost the same type of vibe as Fracas. I have been trying a few Tuberose perfumes since Covid began -- and I like the original Truth or Dare very much now. They are both worth trying.

Madonna has a good nose for fragrance. I will continue to wear these two samples and see how this goes and what the response it when I wear it. Lovely so far. Both are definitely worth sampling to see if they blend with you chemistry!

-----------

I recently tried Burberry's "The Beat" perfume - and found that this version of Madonna's Truth or Dare is very similar to what I remember it smelling like, only it appears that "The Beat" is a lighter tea expression, it has a slight soda pop note in the chord which smells like a blend of a dark cola with 7Up. If you like this Truth or Dare - I think you would like Burberry's "The Beat". They are similar in expression - but with different ingredients and notes.

mellyv1973

This is a musky, creamy sandalwood with sweet, floral nuances. Linear fragrance that does not have much projection or longevity. It lasts about 2 hours and sits very close to my skin. I wouldn't run out and pay a crazy price for this now discontinued perfume. Not extraordinary.

diaanz81

I don't typically like celebrity fragrances however, the combination of curiosity around the hype and a cheap price tag, pushed me over the edge. While it didn't blow my socks off, I still like it, more than I thought I would and I am happy to have it. It is warm, inviting, cozy, deep, sweet scent especially in the mid and dry down. The opening has a touch of vintage floral but not at all in an off putting way. Then, I get a slightly synthetic grape-y note not tarte but sweet and juicy which reminds of frozen sip ups in the grape flavour from my childhood but grounded in a chocolatey vanilla. In the deep dry down, this is mostly woody and vanillic to my nose. It is definitely interesting, an elevated celebrity fragrance and I am pleasantly surprised, even mildly impressed.

Swedelish

I was optimistic due to the positive remarks about it not being a typical celebrity fragrance, smelling unique, etc. I'll admit it is a nice scent profile in and of itself, but like every other celebrity fragrance I've smelled Truth Or Dare Naked smells of less than great quality. It's different from the usual celeb fragrance in that it has a middle eastern vibe, but it doesn't translate well due to the synthetics and harshness of it. If this made by Replica or Maison Lancome it probably would have won me over.

I should say I'm quite sensitive to lower grade materials in fragrance, so if there's anything within a composition that gives way to the fact that it was cheaply made my nose picks it up and I can't look past it. They make my stomach turn and can cause a faint headache. I do hate that I've never found a celeb fragrance which doesn't smell cheap and I'm aware how snobbish that sounds. If celebrity fragrances generally work for you and you like the idea of these notes then this is your gem.

TexasOrangeBlossom

I like the scent, but I don’t like the performance. I’m forced to over spray, but since it’s been discontinued I’d really like to be able to use sparingly. I just can’t because I actually want to smell it for at least a few hours. Disappointing. My skin doesn’t usually eat fragrance so I really don’t think it’s me. Anyway, the scent is nice. I get a soda, somewhere between Vanilla Coke and Dr. Pepper, vibe that isn’t overly sweet. I will enjoy my bottle, but not obsess over it buying all the reasonably priced bottles I can find.

SailorV

This reminds me of chocolates filled with fruity jelly or rose lokum, or even a little bit of the dominoe sweets you get around Christmas in Germany. If you aren't familiar with those, they consist of layers of gingerbread, marzipan and abricot jam, all covered in chocolate. So, it reminds me of all things that unite fruity-floral jamminess and chocolate, and it's also a bit boozy from the rum. I'm not sure where the fruitiness is coming from, maybe the peach blossom note is more like a peach note?
Underneath the floral-gourmand notes lies a base of ambery benzoin to ground the fragrance.
It's a warm, creamy, syrupy and balsamic scent. I don't get anything dry or woody for a long time, but there is some Sandalwood in the final drydown after many hours. I don't smell any oud at all and I don't think of this as a "nude" kind of scent, it's not light or subtle.
It's a fun, yummy scent with a bit of depth, but the blend of flowers and chocolate feels a little rough at first, not as smooth and elegant as it could be.

Truth or Dare Naked is an original fragrance, especially among other celebrity offerings. In my opinion this was a great choice for the original price, but not worth the money ebay sellers ask for since it was discontinued.

Gingersnaps777

This is a sweet and sexy floral amber. The florals and benzoin do a nice job of balancing out the wood. It’s also appropriate and yummy for bedroom activities.
This is definitely a Madonna scent in my opinion. I could see her wearing this on and off or something similar.
Lasts about 5 hours on me and longer on clothes. It’s also slightly stronger than a skin scent. I wish it was more potent. Maybe I have an older bottle, but it’s ok. I have a backup since it is discontinued. I should test that one out as well.
This is an underrated fragrance.

Vanillastorm40

I received this yesterday. I really like this but does anyone else feel like it's about 90% alcohol, 10% fragrance? The oud, I can't smell, thank God.

n_a_phillips

An almost bubble-gummy vanilla orchid, with woody notes—and a bit of spice. A complex, yet beautifully balanced fragrance.

Q80

Vanilla orchids..

I get big benzoin, & vanilla blossoms at first with some chocolate & it's quite similar to a blend that i have sniffed before but i just can't remember! I mean this sour humid vanilla is familiar somehow. I get honeysuckle as well and so the sandalwood, but neither oud in here nor cedar. Surprisingly, the drawdown truly smell like "Nejma 7" with that slightly salty sour chocolate and vanilla orchid minus the coconut.

I am surprised with Madonna's taste in fragrances! i mean this one and "Truth Or Dare" are supposed to be celebrity blends! i personally see them quite indie cause they are uncommon & quite amusing compared to other celebrity blends. Very interesting indeed.

Dorange Sense

Woody – resinous – sensual – sweet: benzoin, cacao, sandalwood, floral in the best way possible (not a fan of florals). I'm sorry but Prada Candy is a synthtic bomb compared to this. Very warm and sexy. Compliment getter. W H Y noone ever talks about this?
It smells niche but not challenging, and somewhat familiar. Perfect for fall. I think I'll start a YOUTUBE channel and will talk about this one))

tlusif

Truth or Dare Naked appears on a number of "best of" lists including: Overlooked, Underappreciated, Bargain, etc. so despite typically avoiding celebrity perfumes, I decided to give it a spray. Turns out, T/D Naked is a exceptional amber with enough complexity and balance to earn a place among my favorite amber perfumes. The accolades are deserved: Florals and vanilla are not too sweet, the cacoa provides an almost musky layer, and dry down allows the gentle woods to shine. T/D Naked is a skin scent with an understated sexiness: it will illicit slow discovery as opposed to a shirt-ripping romp.
I'm slightly disappointed by it's longevity but I've worn shorter-lasting scents that were more expensive. Absolutely unisex.
Cher's Uninhibited is another excellent celebrity perfume.

KayleeAp

This one was a blind buy cheap thrill for me. I figured I would like this one based on all the reviews and the notes. A fantastic find! I usually want to love celebrity fragrances due to their price point, but they end up at the back of my fragrance drawer unused. This one is an exception. It is woody, benzoin-y, and vanilla, and teetering on the border of gourmand. It makes me feel sexy and grown up. Longevity isn't the greatest, I get perhaps 4 hours out of it, but for the price point I cannot complain. It has nothing in common with most celeb. scents I have smelled which focus around sugary sweetness (Ariana, Katy Perry, Jessica Simpson). This one was a solid offering, and I am disappointed it was discontinued. MADONNA - PLEASE BRING IT BACK!

Allisonmsmith22

Finally a fragrance that lives up to it's name! Warm, alluring, sexy. So beautiful I bought a bottle 2 days after trying. I was a bit worried when I first sprayed, as it smelled almost syrupy but after about 10 minutes it becomes warm and cozy. I'm not a fan of Madonna but she must know her fragrances! A must try!

mychinarose

I got this one blind a while back because of the reviews (and because it's discontinued). Out of the two of Madonna's offerings, Naked is the closest to describing my personal style (dessert-y, gourmand, sweet). To me this is a bubbling peach cobbler just out of the oven with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of warm caramel sauce. This is barely "traditional floral" smelling at all, but of all the flowers listed the honeysuckle is the star of the show. I couldn't help but think back to my other "peach cobbler smell" review that I did of Jessica Simpson Fancy. The notes aren't similar at all but they still give a similar impression. Naked was pretty potent for 5+ hours on me. Later in the day, for some reason, I wanted to give it more complexity. I tried to think of another scent I own that might layer well. I didn't want anything too sweet as Naked is sweet enough on its own...I ended up with Lavandes Trianon, which was just "okay". I probably should have put on something smokier...but today is a hot Texas day and I just couldn't do that to myself, so maybe another time. I think I'll keep experimenting with it.

JSpines

Admittedly, I am not a fan of Madonna's first foray into the world of perfumery (Truth or Dare.) Her second attempt (Truth or Dare Naked) has a totally different vibe than her first perfume and I am really happy about that! Her first perfume was mature, too mature in my opinion, but this one is younger, more unique and easier to wear. It's very warm, smooth, woody, sun kissed with a touch of sweetness and blended perfectly. Easily unisex. I don't get much of the floral notes coming out on my skin and that's fine with me. The lasting power is also quite decent. I was surprised that I liked this so much. I wasn't expecting to. It does not smell anything like a typical celebrity perfume. I read somewhere recently that Madonna was asked when she was going to release another perfume. Apparently she seemed irritated at the thought of it making one assume she was not happy with her entry into the perfume market. It doesn't look like we'll be getting another perfume from her any time soon, if ever. It's a shame really. Truth or Dare Naked is one of the very best celebrity fragrances to be found these days. Unfortunately, it seems as though it's getting harder to find. This one's worth hunting for so if you can find it, take my advice and buy it! Worth every penny!

bel.gravia

If the original white Truth or Dare is an uncompromising, unapologetic, courageous femme fatale, then Truth or Dare Naked is sensuous, cuddly and soft. It is like the Truth or Dare femme fatale after she had been on a hunt to destroy someone, came back to her cozy luxurious golden flat and now is with someone with whom she has a 'soul friendship', someone with whom she can be soul naked and not worry, she takes off her guard and snuggles up on that person. Naked. This is the smell of her body - very warm, like the golden autumn time in late September, when the rays of the setting sun still reach to caress you, the smell of relaxation and absolute satisfaction with oneself. She will be out next day, for sure, untamed, unleashed, covered in Truth or Dare, but for this moment she is naked.
The fragrance smells 80% like Givenchy's Play Intense for her which was my love in 2014, it is the same warm, floral, spicy, soft vibe. I am extremely, above and beyond satisfied with my purchase.
*Update: the scent dries down to a very oud dominated smell, which I adore, adore, adore! The oud is not natural smelling, of course, but it is not all synthetic either, it is really average. Not your typical celebrity cheap, but neither high class niche. Anyways, Truth or Dare Naked is morphing, from the sweet honeysuckle opening, to this mesmerizing oud dried down. I am impressed!

Gummybear002

What a nice, uplifting and upscale fruity wood scent! Really good for evenings in semi-formal wear. I love the price and quality, a total value buy!

elledeelee

Sensual rather than overtly sexy, this is exciting to wear. A beautiful, strange blend of supermarket apple juice and Deep Heat muscle rub, it is sweet and slightly medicinal. Expensive smelling despite the price, it is warm and cosy whilst simultaneously being intoxicatingly carnal, a really weirdly addictive fragrance that is truly just divine.

I have found that it pairs especially well with a faux fur coat and a hint of decolletage.

louiee

A huge fan of both Madonna and her scents.
Like with the original, I had a few turns with this one before it turned from like to love to....obsession!
Benzoin, honeysuckle, Cocoa and woodsy notes.

I use it in cold weather.
It has warmth, seductiveness and cosiness...
So sexy so intriguing

A scent I rarely wear but really enjoy when I do. For special occasions because its discontinued...

Silage is heavy on me and long lasting on both skin and clothes.

Cant stop sniffing my wrists when I wear it.

MsBacall

Madonna’s Truth or Dare Naked Perfume is sensual mix of peach, honeysuckle, benzoin, vanilla, and woods. The perfume is luxurious and sweet. It’s intensely warm with an edge and soft with a bite. This is a full bodied scent. It possesses decent longevity and delicious sillage. It’s quite yummy. This scent falls in the autumn/winter or cool nights category.

Who Would Enjoy: Fans of Hilary Duff’s With Love perfume may enjoy this; Belle en Rykiel fans would enjoy this; SJP Stash fans may love this; if you aren’t a big fan of fruity sweet perfumes, give this one a try - the woodsy notes cut through the sweetness and give this perfume a wonderfully light resinous quality. This is not a fruity floral! This is also a great date night perfume. It has this come hither quality to it.

Would I Repurchase? Yup! I am on my second bottle. This is increasingly harder to find with a reasonable price tag. It’s been discontinued so if you can manage to find a bottle, give it a whirl. I will have to begin my search for a replacement frag, once my second bottle is all gone. On my skin, the initial spray smells like spicy apple juice! But that quickly warms up to this caramel spicy haven. The vanilla really rounds out the fragrance. I feel feminine, joyful, and yummy. Eventually, this dries down to slightly sharp woodsy notes. I love it. I wish that this came in a body oil. Girl, I’d be all over that!

Luxury Problem

This starts out incredible...warm, glowing, peachiness and soft, sensual, creamy woods with resinous, sweet benzoin. First sniff I almost turned right around and bought a full bottle immediately of this discontinued gem. Within two hours though this became a skin scent and left not much but a faint impression of some sharp woodsiness that is barely perceptible with my nose pressed to my arm. So thankful for that. I really don’t need to spend any more money right now! If this were still dirt cheap I’d snap it up but yeah...I think there are other perfumes that capture what this fragrance is going for but actually project and last.

Eugenia Olesen

The scent is intimate, seductive and sensual and at the same time light and smooth, like the aroma of the liqueur praline. Gorgeous vanilla, orchid and boozy fruitiness. I wish they would create more fragrances from Madonna.

First sniff, this reminded me of Jessica Simpson Fancy - just a little mind you. It was the caramel like notes. I did find the first spray quite head-achy and a bit nausea inducing - I think it's that strong somewhat synthetic benzoin but I persevered. As it developed I was then reminded of Adam Levine for women although I find AL a lot harsher. It's in that same ball park though, along with Estee Lauder Sensuous. The caramel like notes became much more buttery and although it is not listed in the notes; a powdery scent started to come forward.

The final dry down was like a vanillic powder puff with a whiff of sandalwood and a more subtle benzoin note in the background which made it bearable and almost pleasant. I didn't really get the oud or the cacao, and the honeysuckle is very subtle.

I haven't made up my mind about this one yet - possibly a colder weather scent. I'll hold on to it and see what happens.

gtabasso

at first sniff I thought, "just another vanilla fragrance," then I went "Whoa!"; This is all about benzoin, vanilla orchid and sandalwood with lots of floral notes including neroli and peach blossom to give it a fruity quality; there is no oud in this or some other notes; I wonder why people click these notes, are they guessing because they don't know or just because it is listed? What I do is smell the scent, write down the notes I smell then go look at the listed notes. This is a benzoin and vanilla orchid monster. Love it so very much. Worth the overspend on it since the popularity of fragrance has jacked up the price of things that were $10 or less three years ago. In the final base, it gets a little dryer with a hint of cedar and a bit of an animal a note. I would not call it skanky or fecal but it does have that animal quality.

Stephen Nilson was the nose
And Fabian Barren the bottle creator for truth or dare Naked.

This is an ambery warm sweet woody number.

You have to let the less attractive heavy top notes settle down ( syrupy chocolate) don't even smell it for 10 mins or you may screw up ya face..

5 minutes in you get hunnysuckle musk and butterscotch sweets , once the chocolate fades out a bit this becomes are more sensual slightly menthol ( only a touch) and benzoin heavy, I love benzoin!!

Sadly I feel the same as a few other reviewers that this
Smells quite synthetic rather than real flower oils , But as it dries down it gets a lot lot better and more natural , so hang in there.

I adore Prada candy and infusion diris absolute and Tom ford violet blonde these never smell synthetic at all but their very pricey benzoin perfumes so I expect them to be top notch.

Once settled this shines better and some of over the top chocolate dies off to be replaced with more of a natural
Sweet woody benzoin and deep vanillic undertone.
As it settles more you get :

Butterscotch and cocoa butter dreams !

This makes me think of the beach , well cocoa butter cream and suntan lotion.
In fact that is were you go , the beach !
This is a sweet beachy fragrance ( no coconut though)

Musky warm benzoin with chocolate and butterscotch...
Mmm not bad once it settles but sadly it does not quite match up to the other benzoin fragrances .

FUN facts about Madonna,
She dreamed of being a ballet dancer , grew up in Detroit
And hates the colour orange !!

Question Cat

I was blessed enough to find 2 tester bottles of this divine elixir on FragranceX - sadly, the last available, as I've already checked the site to see if I could add to my (now quite coveted)'stash' in the making.

So, I clearly have quite flagrantly given away my adoration of this fragrance right off the bat. No bearing around the bush. No playing coy. I was just bowled over by this mysterious blind buy that has now rapidly evolved from curiosity to infatuation to rapsodous love affair. I initially found the notes compelling, as I love woodsy scents and found the inclusion of honeysuckle, cacao, and vanilla orchid sufficiently unique and well enough within my range to pique my curiosity, and the elusivity of its availability elevated this to the top of my 'must buy' list rapidly.

Then I received my long awaited, heavily anticipated package in the mail earlier this week. I went to town and sprayed away with abandon. Like several have stated, I was initially hit with confusion - I smelled balsamic root beer or sarsaparilla in the first minute or so and not much else...

THEN...

(((fans self)))

THEN, well...

PURE butterscotch, emphasis on the BUTTER. Rich, sumptuous, ADULT (as in grown up, not pornographic) gourmand. But it has more depth than my simplistic starter descriptive. It's well blended, so the compilation of the notes results in a buttery, caramelized stunner. It retains a slight balsamic tinge, but as a compliment, or an enhancer of the, I assume, divine combination of the honeysuckle, cocao, and vanilla orchid. I love all three notes separately, but combined, with the understated woods notes, become a delectable drizzle of what I'd imagine hot salted caramel cooling on french vanilla ice cream must smell like. Though far less obvious and deceptively more seductive.

I'd *bathe* in this daily if I had an unlimited stash. If I can be a good girl and limit my usage to appropriate occasions, it may become my long awaited signature scent. I'm devastated that it is, by all accounts, discontinued.

It's not your typical celeb scent. My favorite celebrity fragrance was Kate Moss 'Vintage' - which I still adore - but this is another stratosphere. Where as Kate's 'Vintage' makes me go "Mmmmm..." and is comfortingly snuggly, like a favorite scarf, this has a "WOW" factor. It feels slightly 'naughty', clandestine. Like you're indulging in something you know you shouldn't, but can't resist...

DON'T let the initial saspirilla blast put you off... Wait...

It's 120 seconds to bliss. A celebrity scent that is a conundrum; at once complex yet slightly linear (perfectly blended),simultaneously binge-evoking yet demanding of your patience.

My husband, btw, entered the room right after the dry down and snuggled into me immediately, expressing his approval with an unmistakable, almost reflexive "Mmmm you smell GOOD!" (High praise indeed, lol...)

If you can get your hands on this and are seeking a gourmand for grown ups, don't think, buy. I seriously debated even posting such an enthusiastic review, bc I wanted to keep this my guilty pleasure, my dirty little secret. But I couldn't not share, and have been blessed already with a mini-stash.

If anyone already has this and isn't feeling the love, or takes the plunge but finds it's not a good fit, I'll eagerly take any leftovers or work out a trade and be as generous as I can.

And, no, that wasn't an ulterior motive/manipulative tactic - I genuinely think this is a special scent, but get the feeling it's an 'all or nothing', and thus not for everyone. Though I think the people it's meant to find, it will. I just wanted to share my once in a blue moon kindred scent spirit experience.

I hope others can relate to my review and/or are fortunate enough to test these waters of surprising depth and find them welcoming, if not entirely alluring
and transcendent...

It was after reading a Fragrantica article about underappreciated cheapies that I ended up blind buying Truth or Dare Naked (something I swore to myself I would never do again, but at 20$ CAN this was a calculated risk). I am not into sweet celebrity scents, but based on the article and the reviews here, I assumed this one was different. Sadly it turned out to be an empty promise.

When I received my bottle, I was a not particularly disappointed by the smell, but I was not blown away either. I simply thought "meh, another sweet and generic scent for women". Also, the longevity isn't amazing, I get 3-4 hours before it becomes a skin scent. That being said, ToDN is very wearable and office friendly. I could have kept it to wear it, but I'd rather have a smaller collection composed of fragrances I really love.

I did not have to fret long on my misery, it turns out this one is still very much in demand. I sold the bottle within the same week.

DulciusExAsperis

This opens as a fizzy vanillic cream soda on my skin - which I don't much care for - but dries down to a lovely soft sensual cocoa-benzoin with a floral undercurrent.

The combo of cacao and benzoin smells a lot like amber to me, and if I didn't see the notes I'd call this a very ambery perfume.

greenbluegray

Resinous is right. Is this what Madonna smells like naked? Just wow. I think she must enjoy some bourbon while wearing decadent high-end lotion when in the buff. Creamy woods, and I think she snuck in a tiny dot of tuberose.

This is like a far better done Olympea by Paco Rabanne. Smells a little vintage to me.

Why did Madonna stop making perfumes? Were there only two? Oh, come on, do some more. I think I would trust her taste in wine too, and she is right there in Portugal...

Lilah Veil

So woodsy, opulent, earthy, dirty, clean, soft, strong, black and gold. Smells like polished antique church pews mixed with tons of money, dark and heady ale with smoke and sin in dark doorways and corners. The benzoin in this is addictive and calls to mind old postcard imagery of naughty women in opium dens with long, ornate pipes and heavy-lidded eyes. In its entirety, this blend reminds me of a painting by Albert Matignon called "Morphine". Three beautifully dressed women are in a room with one passed out on a bed face down, her tied, red hair hanging over the side. Madonna's ToDN is exactly how I imagine that room would smell. I have owned this fragrance since it was first marketed and still cannot get over how strong and tawdry-ish yet fabulously rich and luxurious it truly is. I still find it extremely unisex, comforting and warm and exactly perfect for the winter. Gorgeous, precious juice!

katrinawhitney

This is quite comical to me. I just received a blind swap of Mancera Roses and Chocolate, Truth or Dare, and then this one. Which one did I like the most? This one. This is beautiful and smells very high end, niche to me. This is classy, sweet, resinous and right up my alley. Madonna over Mancera? Idk.

boruvka44

I always liked the white version a lot, super creamy, soft and very classy. It is just too floral for my taste, but everytime I wore it, I enjoyed the day with it (and when my best friend wears it, when we visited a castle together in summer heat, it was so nice!! Will never forget that day:)
I added this version to my basket while shopping online, only because the price was those about 5 euros.
Right after I picked it up, I sprayed my sleeve and the whole tram ride home I was thinking "just another drug store". It is, it´s not as classy, but I like it more. It´s very fruity, gourmand sweet caramel with clean musk. If you like Tocade (same cacao here), the original Sun by Oriflame and especially La Mome! So alike, La Mome is also very sweet, powdery and fruity.
Winter evenings home aromatherapy. My sister and mom will get this for christmas.
Tester came with a cap.

fmharun23

This one is totally awesome especially if we talk about celebrity or designer fragrances. Unique, bold, opulent, intrigue, seductive and elegant. One bottle seems not enough for me.. im addicted to it. I usually wear 1-2 sprays... this one i can wear 4 sprays and reapply as much as i want.. wont cause you a headache and wont offend your surroundings since its has a very pleasant smell. I prefer wear this piece durint night time/cooler weather.. overall perfomance scored 7.5 out of 10.

andonirdc

I swapped this one away some time ago but started craving it shortly after. Unfortunately it became hard to find and prices skyrocketed.
Fortunately, I just bought it off a British seller on ebay, BNIB and sealed, 40 bucks for a 75ml bottle. It's really worth it and I am so happy with my purchase ! Truth or Dare Naked is perfect for fall, it's cozy, warm, sensual and offers just enough fun with its mentholated opening.
The cocoa offers some fruity apricot flavours and it dries down to a warm and creamy vanilla base, sweet but rough at the same time thanks to the woods. There is also a prominent boozy feeling throughout the development that makes it even more enjoyable.
It makes me think of a morning waking up hangover after partying, a little bit of everything, a bit of debauchery. Provocative, sexy, definitely not innocent. Some perverted holy water... Rough !

Eternity Girl

The very first time I got a whiff of this was in 2013 and it was dead winter. At the time I had been living in the country for a few years and had decided I wanted to return to city living. Country had lost its charmed. So Im visiting the city, its dead winter and I smell Naked.

Oh my gosh it made such an impression I couldn't get over it. Gorgeous and I had not smelled anything like it before. I immediately bought 3 big beautiful bottles.

But its so strange I never wear it and the odd time I reach for it I question why I liked it so much. I wore it to bed last night and had faint whiffs when I awoke in the morning.

Im giving a bottle to my bestie as she has 250 bottles of perfume and does not have this in her collection. Im glad I have it and am holding onto my 2 bottles as its initial magic just may well occur again but in the future.

Albertos

Hello. in Poland, the last testers with a cap to get for 5 euros. Shock! I have supplies! I would recommend! smell of a drug! kisses. L-O-V-E IT!

piahellgren

This is a fantastic and clever perfume that is super suitable when fall comes! I adore the slightly mentholated opening - tiny bit toothpasty. The mentholated aspect doesn't stick around for a long time and I am curious about which note creates it. There is no tuberose here and tuberose can do that if high quality. The oud? Anyway, there is soft cocoa and it has got nothing to do with candy or other super gourmand perfumes- this is realistic, soft, steady. I also smell the honeysuckle and the benzoin and they complement each other in a lovely way. Nothing screams here, stands out; its truly well blended. The middle phase is mainly pleasant and the dry down is absolutely amazing when this soft, well-made scent melds with the skin and becomes just a very, very pleasant, yet quite original cloud of niceness. First I thought I wanted this scent to have more sillage, but now I realise that it would have made it strange. This is a long-lasting soft, mild yet steady cloud of mellow warmth. Oh, the cedar in it is also super nice- nice amount of it, well balanced and makes the scent stand straight in all its softness. This is by no means a coy and forgettable scent- its softness with a twist. Is this the bigger sister of Britney Spears Private Show, which is also quite nice. If you love the the Britney and feel like expanding into a more original terrotory- definitely try this one! Also, if you like perfumes like Balmain´s Ambre Gris try this!

greyhoundmom

This is a strange one for me because I would have never picked the right notes from the pyramid if I smelled this blind. I get cherry, praline, and patchouli right off the bat.. akin to Katy Perry Killer Queen and Donna Karan Liquid Cashmere Black.. and even LVEB and Flowerbomb. It's very fruitchouli to my nose.. a perfumey perfume, the cloud of scent as you walk into Macy's. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, I love all the fragrances I mentioned. It just isn't essential to my collection since I already have all of those scents.

Either way, this is a great quality celebrity fragrance. It has the projection and longevity of a heavy hitting scent like LVEB and Flowerbomb but considering what it's going for on Ebay it's not much of a cheaper "dupe" for either. Worth it if you're a big Madonna fan but if you already have a decent fruitchouli collection you can probably pass on this one.

shushkin

When I first tried this balsamic scent I really didn't like it. It's amazing what a gap of a few years can do.
It smelt like hair spray back then.
Now I immediately recognise the Benzoin, cocoa and orchid. These three definitely dominate. I think the others notes in this must be overwhelmed by the big three. Quite an achievement with oud listed as being present.
The orchid becomes more and more dominant with time. It's the same for me with TF Black Orchid. It is a nice scent that I often layer with. It doesn't develop much at all but then it was very cheap. Nice but a bit boring. I've sniffed too many interesting scents over the years so sadly not enough going on here to excite me.
Good longevity and moderate sillage.

kameron

what a HUGE surprise! A stunning, expensive smell fragrance! Very close to Buquet ideale Xerjoff in a mixture with Lira. Fantastic. So sad gone too soon... For 40-50$ - 50 ml, still can be found. It worth every penny. Love it and so happy I have it in my collection. Well done, Queen!

Konga5000

I love the original but NOT this. Don't believe the HYPE on here. This smells awful and generic. I'm nearly insomic to it for some reason. DO NOT BLIND BUY.

nika21

This reminds me of Oriflame Love potion mixed with Roberto Cavalli Nero assoluto. Cacao, orchid, wood and benzoin. It's a bit sweet and seductive, but appropriate even for daily wear i think. Not as special as TOD, but it's a nice scent for a really good price.

Beth

Oh my gosh, this stuff is awesome!!! I’ll be honest: I resisted it for a long time because it’s, well, from Madonna! I was sure it would match her public persona (i.e. “smell trashy”). I am very, very pleasantly surprised. I tentatively applied a little on my wrists this morning and drove my kids to school. It was very gentle and delicious. Sillage is quite soft on me. It smells warm; like skin, but better. It’s not a cacao-bomb, but it’s sort of cozy and would suit in all weather and applications. After a couple hours, I completely doused myself on the wrists, neck, and hair with nearly the rest of my sample! It’s really that good to me and went straight to my “Love” shelf. It smells way more expensive than it is.

vintagelover

With TOD original being in my top 5, I wasn't expecting Naked to overshadow it.... and it didn't. It lacks the class and glamour of the original to me. Naked is lovely none the less, it's a good solid, safe fragrance and I am stocking up whilst it's cheap enough to do so but it could be a decent scent by any celeb in my honest opinion. The original moved away from safe and could have come from a top house. Love Naked but not as much as the original!

NixNox

Blind buys can feel either courageous or foolish, depending on the outcome, and with a little hindsight bias I can declare I made a courageous blind buy when I saw this going cheap online! Bright, resinous woody floral, this is a complex and sophisticated blend. Soft spicy, warm, sexy and cosy woods; it feels like a fluffy enveloping cashmere knit. The scent is far more luxurious and sensuous than one would expect from a celebrity fragrance. Madonna clearly knows her perfume - something tells me that she didn't stand by on the sidelines whilst someone else made the crucial decisions! There is something of her power and force in this frag: she isn't a wallflower, she's very confident in her own skin.

I love this scent, and it has already garnered multiple compliments in the first few days of wear. It has moderate-to-heavy sillage and great lasting power; it's very much there without being annoying, leaving a beautiful trail of soft scent behind you. A truly great find.

Dorange Sense

I was wrong. Though I really dislike Sandalwood (Santal 33 makes me leave the room) and don't enjoy sweet smells at all, TOD Naked grew easily and fast on me. I take back my cheap fragrance association, this smells nothing like your average musked-up synthetic cheapness. It smells cocoa sweet which is really deluted in its sweetness but rich in its velvety character. The sandalwood is huge in this one but I don't mind, I even start to crave this note. Big thank you to all reviewers, baught it based on the opinions here and already fear my bottle will be empty soon… the bourbon brown really makes this (well designed) bottle! Didn't regret. Together with Aura, this is my summer sweetie for 2018. Swoon.

tittertat

I blind swapped this and I like it a lot. It's sort of sweet and hazy in a syrupy yet not heavy way. Floral- sandalwood- caramel and cherry soda. I think the benzoin is a resiny substance that gives it a richness.
I'm wearing it in warm weather but it's fine in small amounts. In winter maybe a bit more. Happy with it!

Sabretoothkitten

Im in the minority in disappointed. Was picturing something like Youth Dew but naughtier and younger. I am getting something extremely sweet but woody. I'm realizing I do not like benzoin much...there are underlying notes that I could enjoy it not for the cedar and benzoin. I am reminded of Baiser du Dragon feel but with the sweetness of cola syrup. Benzoin has this aspect that gets in the back of my throat and gives me a soapy taste. Another thing this reminds me of is the male Givenchy Pi. Which gets overwhelming very fast.
It smells pleasant don't get me wrong but the floral notess are too light and the basenotes are too heavy. I wanted more cocoa and Lily but got oud, woods and resin. Maybe it's the way my skin chemistry wears it.
I think a man could pull this off actually. I like the original Truth or Dare much better at least on me .
I blind bought so this will be up for swap soon.

Dorange Sense

At start somewhat cheap fragrance like something from Revlon, but also better: Boozy. Peach blossom soft. Warm and cold (minty feeling) at the same time. That's really nice.
But also sticky sweet. Be aware that sandalwood is very strong in this one.

This is my sweetest fragrance and doesn't fit my style at all. I baught it because of the unique bottle, the promised balsamic feel, the fact it would be nowhere to find one day. I will wear it in winter to see if the sweetness is as strong during cold weather.

Still it is a very uplifting scent, cocoon-y, feminine. Pleasant whafts. The color fits a 100 percent. I am actually sad for her that this somewhat interesting perfume has been discontinued that quickly.

nitsa62

I like this, when I tried it I racked my brain thinking of what it reminded me of from the 80s, then it hit me, it was very similar to Ciara by Revlon, same type of vibe, the posters who couldn't think of which one I'm sure meant this one, I do prefer Madonnas though, very nice

Saeka

A young man followed me around at an organic grocery store when I was wearing TRUTH or DARE NAKED which never happened to me with wearing other much stronger fragrances.

TRUTH or DARE NAKED is a very warm sensual floral woody with a bit of oriental vanilla vibe. Whoever come really close to you might feel like a little kitten cuddled by the mother telling "Everything is going to be alright, honey". . . with a Marilyn Monroe kind of sweet innocent voice.

This could be my signature scent but why are they discontinuing this??? Currently, this is the most popular feminine fragrance with agarwood(oud) on the search engine.

This inoffensive sweet with just enough depth to free your territory kind of fragrance is indeed needed.

juniemoon

I have had both this and the original Truth or Dare for a while now and this is the first time trying wearing them in earnest today.

I am doing a side by side comparison test on both wrists. So far I am preferring Naked. It's richer, creamier, warmer and smells more luxurious than TOD. The tuberose in TOD isn't really overwhelming like it can be in other frags to me even when it's not the starring actress. Not to say I don't like TOD but don't think I'd ever LOVE it. I'll see how both progress throughout the day and come back here.

Edit: later on in the day, they both have pretty much the same longevity, it's a matter of which effect you prefer, TOD Naked seems to be a warmer more intimate scent, while TOD still, to me, seems more "in your face" and more "shallow", the "good-time, party girl here for a good time not a long time.
I don't know how to put it another way, it just doesn't connect with me, it doesn't seem as grounded.

I think I prefer TOD Naked, you want her to stick around and get to know her on a deeper level. She has secrets to reveal, but she is going to make you put in the effort, make you coax her to to reveal them to you.

Gourmandlover

Never had the chance to try this one unfortunately. It really seemed like a scent I could like. Why did they discontinue such a popular scent?!

Albertos

HI. WOW! THIS is great! Very good sweet unisex, wonderful scent for every season, something wonderful keeps on my sweater for 2 days, very good durability, I have many compliments, smells very expensive and good. It's a pity that production was stopped, I got 50 ml, for only 4 EURO! Proof that for such a sum you can have something very cool and expensive, a great bottle. Thank you, MADONNA! 10/10

Lilacs&Lavender

This is how I imagine ancient temples smelt - the incense is intense! At first I was blasted with the vanilla orchid and thought Oh No - another over-the-top gourmand I wasn't warned about. That dried down though within an hour to the base notes, so Truth or Dare Naked can rightly claim to be a musky woody floral. The oud, sandalwood and benzoin are pretty apparent so it would possibly offend others in our hot, humid climate. I'd only wear this in the depths of Winter in Australia (where I'd barely get away with it, given that we wear t-shirts and shorts on many days in Winter where I live). Or I'll keep my 10ml sample for Christmas time to get in the spirit of our oddly upside down White Christmas celebrations in 30+ degree heat. I don't regret tracking this discontinued fragrance down - for the price it's well done - but it just doesn't suit my lifestyle.

estaesta

minty menthol spearmint benzoin , old school band aid tape. warm and cold zingy, identical to original blistex lip balm scent. i went thru several bottles couple of years ago, now discontinued, lucky to be in new zealand where the odd one popped up again... if you like tigerbalm, heat rubs mixed fudge caramels, benzoin incense gum, you'll like this. it has a bite-tho, heavy boozy, metallic. my skin normally eats perfume but this sticks! should be labelled as unisex. SO MUCH BLISTEX ! I LOVE BLISTEX ! i think its the camphor ... theres camphor in this, surely, like rum fudge with mothballs. yum
dry down could dupe for ck shock for men but its more bitchy and spikey and less smooth
hmm rootbeer

a_llo

Found a bottle of this on ebay.

what a shame its discontinued, its a wonderful fragrance!

I find it completely unisex and it instantly reminded me of Givenchy Pi, benzoin and (although not listed as a note) vanilla.

Its both masculine and feminine at the same time.

such a shame its discontinued!

kasey_skywalker

To me, this smells like chocolate coca cola with honeysuckle and a little benzoin. I feel like that doesn't make it sound nearly as luxurious as it smells. Not what I was expecting at all, but loving it!

Cauda Pavonis

Warm fruity floral. Meh. It's ok I guess - I was looking forward to this as I really like the original. This flanker is a bit too much like all the other floral gourmand celebuscents out there. Not bad but, in fact it's pretty well done for the genre, but I was expecting something a little more "Wow!" It's your run of the mill pleasant, sweet floral with some edible notes. I'm surprised I don't see any vanilla or caramel in the list of notes. I guess the perfumer's idea of amber is sugary caramel? Again, not terrible but not particularly interesting. I regret all the effort I made to track it down. :(

Wait... there's oud??? What oud????

RosalieRosalie

Sorry, my mistake... try looking for NAKED of course..!

RosalieRosalie

You guys, you guys, you guys............!
I am going to make a very bold statement here.
Let me begin first by stating that, generally speaking, I almost NEVER agree with perfumes that are supposed to be dupes, or resemblances that a good number of people agree on.

There are some exceptions of course - I am thinking Epice Marine of the Hermessence Line, and Declaration for example, but they are quite rare for me.

Having read that this particular perfume is discontinued, and being aware of some very positive reviews of my fellow Fragranticans (to whom all the credit they deserve), I decided to try a blind buy of NUDE.

After having received my bottle, I had a true AHA-Erlebnis at first spritz.

I checked with my Monsieur, who ‘recognized’ it too. (It may partly be due to me whispering something along the lines of “your girl scored a very very good deal”, but he did, absolutely, without any doubt, ‘recognise’ it.)

“GUERLAIN!
One of the Arts et Matières; one of the two sweet ones..!
Right?? I’m right aren’t I?! I know I am!
...
**me: smiling, but not saying a single word**
...
It’s the one with the rum note, the vanilla one! The one I liked most!”

So, there you have it peeps.
If “SPIRITUEUSE DOUBLE VANILLE” is not enough bang for your buck -which it most certainly no longer is for ours, once we discovered this little treasure, try turning your delicate and well-trained noses to the world wide web and grab yourselves a bottle of TRUTH OR DARE NUDE, while there are still some around!

You can thank us later. :)

Nb: My Monsieur wears it and it’s great on him. It’s a tad too sweet for my personal taste, but as I have written before: that doesn’t stop me from appreciating a well-made perfume when I smell one.

mamakatt38

This is beautiful,a wonderful , slightly boozy, somewhat floral, and a lot of honeysuckle and musk. This doesn't seem like a "celebrity" scent at all. It's very classy, I wear it more at night but it is not overpowering or anything so it could be worn during the day too. I'm amazed at the quality and class Madonna's perfumes have. They are both simply wonderful.

PS.....I have been layering this with the original ' Truth or Dare' and they smell fantastic together, in my opinion. Not everyone will like the combo but I sure do!

Kendelem1999

I bought this blind based on reviews and I didnt want to wait until its discontinued status only made it available for 2 weeks pay. I am a lover of sweet, edible scents and based soley on the description provided on this fragrances' page I would have NEVER have thought to try it. woody floral? not my style. but to me this is anything but. kind of... It is very medicinal but not in an off putting way. It is sweet and edible for sure and the base is a woody vanilla heaven! I can only compare it to Hilary Duffs With Love. Not how it smells but because it is so different and comforting. Yes, thats the word, comforting! I thought it was nice at first, not amazing but now I crave it, an aquired taste for sure but one Im glad to have aquired

chinook

It smells like gummy bears when first applied, and then slowly develops into a powdery, skin-like scent. Dry down smells like someone butt naked. Great for nighttime, and daytime if you dare.

mirrorghost

i was 90% sure i'd love this scent, but now that i've tried it, i am just not feeling it. it's not terrible or anything, it.s ok, just not my cup of tea, due to skin chemistry issues because i get a plasticky undertone. it's a gourmand scent with hints of woods. i think i get mostly vanilla orchid, cacao and benzoin from this. i am honestly just a bit underwhelmed by this one.

MikiRae

I can't believe this is a celebrity scent! Naked is sublime! I cannot pick out many notes, on me it's all about the Benzoin, it is heavenly. So well blended, smooth and well rounded. It feels really vintage to me. Very dreamy and comforting. Of all my recent acquisitions this is the one I'll be grabbing a back up of. Absolutely gorgeous scent. Sillage and longevity are moderate on me. Gorgeous! Gorgeous! Gorgeous!

secorneli1202

I recently discovered Madonna's Truth or Dare Naked and it really is heavenly. This juice makes me swoon. It's a benzoin lover's dream.

My obsession with benzoin started in my early 20's when a Tibetan monk gifted me some benzoin tears. He instructed me to carefully burn them on rounds of self-lighting charcoal. I instantly fell in love with the scent. I sparingly burned the resin as a special treat and saved a couple tiny tears to remember that monk by. They are kept in a small jewel box which is opened occasionally so I may inhale the magnificent scented contents.

I don't detect too much of the floral notes in Truth or Dare Naked but definitely benzoin and woods. I love to spray it on just before bed as it is such a warm and comforting scent. I have the body lotion as well and slather it all over myself for an extra decadent treat. For me the lotion has excellent staying power.

I can't stand Madonna but she put her name on this sensuous creation and for that I give her some respect.

A blind buy for me - which usually means a scrubber, or just 'meh' (I never luck out very much with blind purchases).

But this? This has made up for all the bloopers.

It smells quite unisex, though probably veers toward the feminine side. But it's weird and strange and like nothing I own, but my nose is very pleased indeed!

It goes on quite medicinal, like antiseptic cream, which sounds nasty, but it's really not! (I am one of these weirdos who likes the smell of Deep Heat and cleans my teeth with Euthymol toothpaste - if you are like me, you maybe really dig this perfume) Perhaps I am reminiscing of school days in the sick room or sat in the doctors surgery with my mum, but either way, it is very pleasant. This, for me, is a memory perfume, it triggers something from the past, childhood, teens, I can't place it. But it's a positive thing. It has a root-beer vibe too, a little like Mandorlo Di Sicilia, but not as cuddly or gourmand. It also reminds me of Boss Bottled (before they messed with the formulation).

I shall slather myself in raw cocoa butter and layer this on top, hopefully that will bring out the cacao, which I'm having a hard time deciphering.

Warm, medicinal, original. And quite cheap too! Have a look on eBay - I managed to snag a 75ml bottle for little over £11. I would wear this all year round, but probably with a light hand in summer. I have a feeling it will be even more delicious in Autumn/Winter!

This purchase has given more the confidence to consider blind buying the original ToD (also cheap on eBay!). Heady times, indeed!

-----

EDIT: I've realised what this smells like; during the mid 90's Faberge released a small range of drugstore body sprays and splashes called Addiction. I loved the Wild Ginger one, but this smells lots like Spice Fire.

EDIT No. 2: I've been wearing this for a few weeks now. I am ADDICTED. It is total comfort scent for me now. Its been brilliant on my skin in hot weather! It doesn't last all that long though, which is a shame. So benzoin, looks like you and me are gonna be friends *searches for more benzoin fragrances*

avonman

I've already written a Previous review on TOD Naked but just wanted to add as I'm Finishing a 2.5oz bottle That This smells to me like a Musk perfume in the likes of Vintage 70s'Coty Wild Musk or even early 80s'Avon Soft Musk as those were 2 that My Mom wore in the past, so Yea I get this Simple Warm Natural Musky feel whenever I wear this and sometimes that's Just Enough!

thatsperf

Wow absolutely mouth wateringly delicious. Swirls of cacao, amber and benzoin blended in a fine bottle. Dessert spiked with sweet liqueur. Cozy and comforting. Unfortunately had to give it away due to me being allergic to whatever's in it and I am so sad about that.

matej.jedvaj

I hate that bitch Madonna but my god she has taste in fragrances :D just got mine and I gotta say that this cracked the top 5 celebrity fragrances for me. It's amazing, it opens sweet and stays sweet, nothing like Rebelle (which is my favorite celebrity fragrance), it's syrupy sweet with a pinch of cocoa and has that hugable aura, very creamy. It doesn't smell like doctors office but coughing syrup I used to love as a kid, it's calming. I love it for strange reasons, I know, but this could be my summer secret frag (I always wear fragrances in a different season, makes people confused). Unisex, yes.
Could be part of Million collection for men.
I imagine that Katherine Hepburn smelled like this.
Great blind buy. Thanks people of Fragrantica :)

Southern Blonde

Kudos Madonna even if you aren't the nose or brains behind this fragrance! I just wanted to say congratulations on selecting the notes and the approval of this perfume for your brand-fragrance line because this is amazing and very different from today's sweet sugary candy nonsense coming from most celebrities. O my where do I start? I smell a lot of beautiful things: citrus courtesy of neroli, citrus-floral stuff, fresh and yet green with some honeysuckle and fruited with peach, floral with orchid and a lily-of-the-valley, gourmand notes of chocolate, like a very rich chocolate before it's made into a bar or piece of edible chocolate or more like chocolate yogurt! The dry notes are all woods precious woods of cedar and agar wood or oud, which though derived from Arabic Oriental notes is not too strong, a good woodsy dry down, unisex a tad more like a guy's cologne but nevertheless sexy and enchanting. I thought this was a great perfume for smelling mysterious and enticing for a date, or for night-club dancing. It's warm and wintery perfect for the autumn-to-winter months (October through February) because it has a smokiness and woodsy air very pleasant and strong like a warm cup of hot chocolate.

Many a moon ago a Fragrantican advised me on how to wear perfume by layering it with another for more depth and staying power. I was having a difficult time with Fame by Lady Gaga and she suggested that this perfume might do the trick. I never followed her advice initially because I liked Fame and didn't want to ruin it by mixing it up with another perfume. That being said, this perfume in and of itself is gorgeous and doesn't require layering. It's really quite a perfume that stands on it's own. Madonna's Truth or Dare is another. That frag was very vintage smelling (Fracas) and quite classy and womanly. This one is just as good but spicier and more unisex, definitely more complex. This reminds me of an easier to wear By the Fireplace by Maison Margiela and also a lesser known Coty called La Voce which was the American opera singer Renee Fleming's perfume. A friend of mine who attends operas wears that and I smelled it on her and borrowed it once and this is quite similar. I wonder if that's a coincidence. Both scents are a mélange of top notes of fruit, a heart of lily of the valley and a base of precious woods. The result is like a sweet but also smoky dark chocolate incense with a unisex and exotic quality. This smells so good and can't wear it to my next gig when I sing for our veterans in Florida. This is a lounge singer in black dress and gloves! So me! Madonna you are still sexy and awesome. Thank You.

Decodawn

Hello from Deco Dawn. This is a magnificent fragrance. Rich, warm & sensual. The initial spray is unusual but after half an hour it has developed in to a delicious gourmand fragrance that smells very expensive. I was intrigued to see that others have voted it's similarities to Xerjoff Bouquet ideale that retails in Fortnum & Mason, London for £240. The 'Material Girl' always in 'Vogue' has Triumphed once again. Try it you will love it.
Additional note: I agree with fellow fragrantica that Madonnas two fragrances should have been called 'Truth' and 'Dare' and I love wearing them together two sprays of each in the palm of my hand which I then rub over my arms and neck such an extraordinary combination the Tuberose, Gardenia, Vanilla & Jasmine from the white bottle and the Benzoin, Cacao, Vanilla Orchid and Australian Sandalwood from the Brown Bottle. Should be sold together in a more luxurious box set. As both fragrance smell very similiar in their own right to very high end fine fragrances. 'Fracas' and 'Xerjoff Bouquet Ideale. Excellent vfm a wonderful gift.

cinnakitty

Wow! I think my nose is working entirely differently to everyone else AND I have smelled this before. This is the same as another scent, I just cant put my finger on which right now.
I expected some kind of vanillic scent. Instead, lightly woody, slightly sweet aquatic. It smells like a fairly generic men's offering. Boo hoo. Nice men's deodorant, but not me.
0/2 on my blind buys
Today.
Update: it has vanilla-ed up a bit but it's still nothing like I imagined.

Synesthesia

I recieved this parfume today. The initial spray reminds me little bit of Hypnotic Poison by Dior...Then after a while, it turned into something more candy, citrusy floral...And then after another 10 minutes it changed again. I can smell some cocoa, jam, and little bit of some kind of pepper and menthol? It is not listed here, but... Actually this is a lot of stronger on my skin than it was on a paper. And the drydown smells exactly just like Voile d'Ambre by Yves Rocher.

Cherry_Darling

This is quite a good woodsy floral, but it does smell slightly cheap to me. One of the better ones in celebrity perfumes though, I would easily pick this over Stash for example which costs far more than this. It's not bad but with so many amazing cheap perfumes out there I think there are better ones in this genre. Like Tabu. LOVE that one.

colibri_classique

I always go to basenotes for info about perfumes being discontinued and this one appears to be "In production" still. I haven't contacted any company about this info though, so for now all is OK.

Back to the fragrance - and I'll stick to the fragrance so I can keep it civil here, I have been wearing this lately. It's an OK fragrance for me, nice and pretty lasting, for a celebrity perfume. I read a lot of reviews here and since a lot of people rave about this (and not just here), I bought it. I don't regret getting this and I might even get another one, at some point. I will probably get the first one too, just to try it on.

So, this turned out to be a good blind buy and a good fragrance, for a very good price.

nieninque

I am genuinely heartbroken that this has been discontinued, as it is the perfume I want to wear for the rest of my life. Still no luck on the dupes. Just why? :(

ibibonica

I like the first ToD, but I love this one, this time she means business, I can totally relate this scent with Madonna, serious, a bit off the grid, modern yet very traditional, scent itself has an old-fashioned vibe and that's what I love the most, signature worthy imo. :)

LoveJoy22

I was at Marshalls the other day and I happened across Burberry Brit Eau de Toilette for women. Since I've always wanted to smell it, and having seeing it in countless fragrance collections; I was really excited to see a package of it open. Upon testing it, I kept saying "Wow, this really smells awfully familiar". Then it hit me, this is Madonna's Truth or Dare Naked. This Gorgeous smell is Perfectly Identical!

dilqna

This is one of my favourite fragrance .cocoa butter and a hint of butterscotch wonderful combination smells so nice ! I highly recommend its strong and very long lasting!

perrfumefreak

In a way, does anyone else think this could be Madonna's version of " Youth Dew"?, another lifelong favorite scent of hers. I can smell a little resemblance but nothing overt.

Gumoosh

I absolutely love this fragrance though I use it sparingly as it is now discontinued...
It is not mind-blowing original or the best blended fragrance I have had the pleasure of wearing but there is something about it that I really like.
It is spicy, woody, boozy and has almost a "syrupy" miasma to it. I often get compliments when I wear it; from both males and females.
I was able to get two bottles of this for about $30/$35 each and I was satisfied to pay this price. Although I love it, I would not pay more than $50 for it - as the longevity is not just quite enough.
However...I hope celebrity scents start going this way versus the sickly sweet "fruitchouli" or "coffeesweet" that continue to be cranked out...

Dawg

Hi! Noob alert! Be aware! :) Got this one based on reviews here and since its discounted in Sweden. Was little affraid because its ment for women but i really liked it. Lightly, fresch and good value overall. If you like Van Cleef - Midnight In Paris, i think you will enjoy this one too. I'm totaly open for more female stuff now :) Greetings from Sweden.

Madrona

Unisex? Really? I don't think so. I mean, of course I'd be delighted to smell this on a man, and of course you can wear whatever the hell you want, but it doesn't read conventionally "unisex" to me - my mind didn't go there. Also, I can detect absolutely no oud. Thankfully.

The opening blast is an instant love - warm, sensual, resinous, nude. I definitely see why the name of the flanker is Naked. After just a few minutes I can see a very familiar orchid peeking through... the same type as in Beyonce Heat Wild Orchid, which I very much dislike. To me, it's a dealbreaker. Bummer.

wbp

When i wear this perfume my friends said that this is a male fragrance : D

socorrosouza

Someone said it was already discontinued.

AuroraFisherman

Both versions of ToD was blind buys so I had nothing to expect from them.

At first this didn't smell the way I had expected according to the notes and the "rumors". But I found it quite pleasant so I have worn it allot the last month.

After a couple of days I understand why it is the "naked" version, because it blends perfectly with my skin and leaves such a creamy, almost buttery, woods and benzoin that it smells like an expensive lotion! The silage is moderate (opposite to the original version that can fill a room if not carefully applied).
The orchid and peachblossom are the flowers that are most obvious ones and together with that dry cacao it becomes a bit exotic.
I can sense the lilly of the valley to that enchants the woodsy.

ToD Naked is a very strong like to me but not a love. Daytime scent! It's inoffensive and linear and have a longlivety for 10-14 hours depending on how many sprays you take (I have about 4-6 good sprays)

shushkin

Gosh, what a shame. This makes me feel ill. Heaven knows what my chemistry does to it. I do find a tonne of benzoin tricky sometimes though. It does smell obviously chemically as well. I know I have a very sensitive nose so perhaps that's something to do with it. I'm envious of those for whom it smells wonderful. It stayed closed to the skin and to my dismay it's longevity was impressive. I guess this one's a scrubber for me.

perfumes_addict

I admit that after reding all the good reviews about this fragrance, I decided to blind buy it and now I am a bit disappointed. The perfume is nice in a way, a bit masculine but still sweet, but it has some strange flower scent to it - probably the honeysuckle - that turns it into a cheap fragrance. No cocoa or vanilla to this fragrance, from the ingredients list mentioned here, but only wood and bezoin. It reminds me of the cheap perfumes the ladies used to wear when I was a kid.

Overall it is not awful, but I was definately expecting more from this one. Instead it is just a cheap celebrity perfume...

vanillaamber

I wanted to try this after getting the first Truth or Dare a few years ago, but it was still full retail price at Macy's. I waited and got it when it went to an online perfume discount site, and Walmart. I was able to order a few gift sets with lotion. I was so excited to get them, thinking they would work with my chemistry like the first perfume does. Boy was I disappointed when I tried it. It was nothing like I'd expected from the notes listed. The first ToD is feminine, flowers with sweet vanilla on me. Naked is masculine, smells like root beer soda mixed with menthol on me. Terrible. I like masculine cologne scents on men, but I don't like wearing anything like that myself. So I can't wear this at all. The minty scent is the part I dislike most. I'm going to try it again this winter and see if I have better luck. I sometimes ask my mother to try perfumes that don't work on me, because her chemistry is different and perfumes always smell different on her. Naked smelled better on her. But still not a scent I really enjoy.

I'm always surprised by all the positive reviews for this one. Goes to show how chemistry affects perfume. I don't get any of the sweetness, cocoa, chocolate, or caramel that others write about. Just a weird fizzy root beer, not very sweet at all, mixed with a minty scent, and like men's cologne.

rhaineclayton

I was given a sample of this a while back and hated it! But with everyone raving about it and the news that it was discontinued I decided to give it another try. I blind bought a bottle for $35 (it wasn't easy to track down!) and I'm quite enjoying it!
It's got the same vibe as Lattafa Raghba, Rihanna Reb'l Fleur and Yves Rocher Voile d'Ambre without smelling exactly like any of them (if that makes sense).
Not a love (I prefer the original ToD) but definitely one for when you want that warm, cosy feeling.
Great sillage.

Blue Neighborhood

For me i prefer this one much more compared to the original Truth or Dare and the fact that this one is a bit more 'guy-friendly' at least as far as my preferences go, works well in my books. Naked is really warm, balsamic and sexy. On my skin i get alot of Benzoin that's been caressed by some vanilla with a hint of musk and cacao. I like to wear this in the colder months and people around me seem to like it as well which i guess is a plus (it's always nice to get a compliment from strangers..eventhough I'm awkward as hell and just smile back at them because I'm to nervous to say Thankyou). If the fragrance lasted longer I'd probably wear it more often.

perrfumefreak

This beautiful scent is now becoming harder and harder to find. All the online perfume retailers are sold out and the eBay sellers have doubled their prices. I guess the days of finding this wonderful boozyfloral beauty for a low price are over

Eesa

Firstly, this is really strong stuff, just like the original Truth or Dare. Bravo on that, for me at least, I really like things that are strong enough to last through my ten hour workdays. I don't love all flower scents, but really love all the ones included in this perfume, and love wood scents too so this is a definite winner. A mature scent being pure flowers and woods, nothing girly or playful about it. I like this more than original Truth or Dare, which I'm not really a fan of as tuberose is very difficult for me to like. Love orchid though, and it really smells heavenly here. This perfume is really worth trying out. It's powerful, classy, and super affordable.

florina_81bobo

warm and balsamic...such a good mood when I am wearing this one!

perrfumefreak

@ohrite, I crave this and Madonna's original " truth or dare" before bed. Either individually or combined they are both very comforting scents and they seem to help me fall asleep more comfortably!

Essy_C

Wonderful. Have you ever worn Mitsouko and thought it would be nice if there was a muskier version?

Well this isnt it, but you will probably like it. Mitsouko is dry, sugared almond without the sugar. This is a shade sweeter but still not sweet.
Its round and well blended, woody and spicy, and dries down to a lovely musky fragrance.

ohrite

this to me smells like soft woods and white flowers in a caramel "stew"!

it is almost intoxicating and remarkably addictive. it's sweet but definitely not sickly so. I crave this sooo badly! especially at bedtime as it's extremly comforting for me, almost in the same way that my soft and cozy one-piece warms my body in cold winterevenings.

can't get enough of this! I gravitate between this and rihannas rogue at the moment.

maybe a bit odd but the last part of the dry-down strongly reminds me of jean paul gaultier's classique!

perrfumefreak

@AjaBlue, try Madonna's original Truth or Dare , its amazing. Then contrast Truth or Dare Naked, then blend the two. These are gorgeous scents on their own but create something wonderful when you combine them!

AjaBlue

I've just sprayed this perfume for the first time about fifteen minutes ago. This is not an entirely negative review. After about 20 minutes of wearing the "symphony" of what I have smelled goes as follows:
First spray: very mellow, not what I expected "soft" celebrity fragrance type smell - fruity/floral/light spice
A few minutes later: Interesting Amber arrives on the scene. Smells familiar. Can't place it, though...Something "1980's" smelling comes through, which is a huge plus for me, but it does not hang around long.
Then...the "Ben-Gay" Icy-hot, menthol-mint background. I rather like that. Smells a hint of Lush's "Breath of God" which I adore. (Such an original fragrance, check that out!)
Lastly, and sadly at the end of this symphony...I get "Twilight Woods" from Bath and Body Works. So, in my final analysis...I think Truth or Dare is a more complex version of Twilight Woods. If you liked that one (which I did for a brief point in time), you will enjoy this fragrance. But seriously, based on all of the reviews I read, I was expecting a whole lot more. I will wear it, though because it is still pretty good. I'm also enjoying the amber notes that come through.

SelenaSerena

Smells like black honey, very warm and somehow summery for me. I imagine it is also very beautiful in winter. Sweet touch with floral dominant makes it so feminine and alluring. I guess it may be very heavy once applied generously. I just give it 1 spray.

JetsBabe

I smell amber somehow!
And lasting power is good.

auroramaria

To be a celebrity scent this is really well done, intoxicatin, sweet, warm and boozy this should be listed as an Oriental. It smells so good I can't get enough of it, sillage and longevity both above average and the price is a steal!
Oh and the bottle looks great and I love the Golden colour of the juice

perrfumefreak

I can't put into words how much I love this. Its truly beautiful to my nose. I'm in a panic because I'm almost out and all the big online retailers are sold out. I'm just hoping they get new stuff in before I totally run out. I don't completely trust eBay so id rather not but there but I may have to!.

UnearthlyApothecary

From reading other reviews, it seems like people don't quite know what to make of this scent. Appears to be one of those love it or loathe it scents. I personally adore it. I received it in a swap and I was prepared for the worst but my goodness I was in love at first whiff. That icy-hot note people mention I believe comes from those who are adverse to sandalwood. I adore it myself. I think every note of this scent blends into this mystical magical potion that screams I AM WOMAN... HEAR ME ROAR

LizzieDee

A few more thoughts: my review below covers how I reacted to the first hour or so of Truth or Dare Naked. While I enjoyed it, some of the adjectives used to describe it made no sense to me: sultry? No way! Spicy? Not really. Warm? I'd say cool. And where's the cacao? The first couple of hours of Truth or Dare Naked are a scent I'd wear in the board room - powerful, confident, but not sensual. A couple of hours later, however, it has morphed into a slutty musk, the morning after the night before. Still no cacao though, thank goodness, and woody rather than spicy.

LizzieDee

Does no one else get lavender from this scent? About 2 or 3 minutes after I sprayed, a clear, clean lavender note emerged. It isn't mentioned in the notes so I must be misreading something else in the mix.

Madonna has done a really good job with this perfume. It is distinctive and elegant.

tessa2809

Beautifully intoxicating and amazingly long-lasting: 12 hours after applying, I still get a lovely whiff of classy amber. Well done, Madonna :)

MoonFlare

The holy water in this bottle is amazing. I saw reviews on here that said this smells minty..like an Icy Hot vibe. Hopefully, I can broaden up others perception and imagination, turn the tables and say this is much more edible and NOT medicinal like other reviews describe. The Icy Hot aroma strikes me more as mint tea.

Yes. To me, Truth or Dare Naked is like sipping mint tea in an old bar/café setting (with pool tables, bars, a table to play dominos & cards), and I can smell the aroma of chocolate croissants, vanilla cream pastries, buttered cookies, hot buttered rum....with a hint of tobacco and booze floating around. It does have a masculine/unisex vibe. I typically think of a rugged guy with a shadow beard, irresistible lips & smile, and that steely, boozy breath.. I do feel like one of the girls going to hang with the guys.

And I hope one takes me to his place. Lol.

Oh, this scent is SO sexy and yummy. I'll be buying back up bottles of this.

De5tiny

I can't really figure it out. Sometimes it's pleasant. Other times it's straight up icy-hot/ben-gay.

genny17

Love Pipergirl review!! In truth, there is a bit of a man ' s cave vibe in Naked!! I can't pull if off, the tone is a bit too masculine for my taste..but for the price, what an interesting scent! I like the balsamic amberish undertone, a bit like Cavalli Essenza, although Essenza is more feminine., so easier to wear..
I think though in the dead of winter, Naked is easier to pull off...it has a warm aura, the cocoa isn't foody, it is a bit on the dry side, the scent never gets too sweet, but gets through interesting phases!! Just a bit hard to wear for me, who likes feminine fragrances.
Intriguing!!

BaWika

I found this perfume by an accident in a b&m store, I was hanging around cosmetic section, scent was warm, sweet, I wanted to smell my wrist all the time, it was also strong on the sleeve of my jacket. I came back to the perfume section, sadly they had only that one tester, so I came back home with the image of the bottle in my head and my nose glued to my wrist. Found it on fragrantica, then ordered from ebay. When I got it I immediately sprayed it on me, loved it. Got a lot of compliments on it, from different people, different environments and times after spraying it.
I feel that it has grown on me even more, just moments after spraying it I can't help it but think of grape flavoured candy, it's that smell, not in a bad way. Then I just forget about it, I don't feel the perfume on me, but people around me still do. It's a sweet smell but not heavy, not overwhelming. As someone said, it can definitely be addictive. Even though the bottle is huge I am already thinking of buying a backup. Recommend that perfume to just try it

Nikinoo

This is lovely and boozy just like I like them. It reminds me a bit of Spirituese Double Vanille by Guerlain. It has that cocktail vanilla smell to it but it's brighter and more fuzzy to me. I have to say this could quickly become an empty bottle on my shelf. I will revisit and comment on longevity and sillage later after I have more time to test.

ZELJO

perfect for a grey, windy and almost rainy day,the one we are having today which is very seldon in south east of Spain,Its totally unisex and a few drops are enough to make me feel sexy sexy sexy,a man of my age with trendy look can wear this one easily...gotta use later in the gym too as I love strong smells there, sexy vanilla

pipergirl

Warning: Negative review which is a bummer because I really like Truth or Dare.

First off, I was sitting in my car in the parking lot eager to do a little test of my just purchased blind buy. So I opened the box, pulled the bottle out and was surprised to see an ambery, whiskey colored perfume inside of a clear perfume bottle (like a flask!). Interesting. I spritzed just a little on my wrist and immediately I was transported into the back room of a bar where the guys play poker: smoke, aftershave, a little bit dirty and something medicinal (hard liquor?) in the background. Definitely more of a guy's perfume to my nose, not bad though. But then Naked started to really rev up on my skin in a really nauseating way making me half sick.

This is the perfume that is getting so much love on Fragrantica? Really? Good grief. I couldn't get it off fast enough. I looked at the notes. Benzoin! This must be the same type of benzoin that ruins Prada Candy for me. It must be the unfortunate way that I perceive that particular note.

kicsigruer

Such an intoxicating scent! Deep and addictive, I just want to inhale all I can again and again! It is probably the combination of benzoin and sandalwood what makes me love it so much. Beautiful packaging and bottle. It looks even better in real life, the whole thing is sleek and sexy, even the touch of the glass feels special! The perfume itself is slightly oily, but in a good way! My skin feels softer where I spray this. Never thought that I would say this about a celebrity fragrance, but this might even become my new signature scent <3

Justpeachy007

Also at marshalls, along with TOD I found TODN. Completely different from TOD. I get sweetly spicy. Not what I'd classify as gourmand. Or a base of gourmand. The benzoin is prominent on my skin in a smoky kind of way. The woods are rich but caramelized. Floral is detectable but overall this is a spicy rich medium weight scent. It is ever so slightly masculine on me. It's my skin, on my clothes it was lighter and sweeter but my skin draws out the base notes. After trying both TOD and TODN I have to say they are like night and day which I think is what they were meant to be. TOD being a loud feminine floral, this being sultry and warm. For the price I am happy with both bottles. I can't say I'd pay department store $$. They both lack "rounding", by that I mean a high quality perfume to me goes thru the notes blending and swirling and relax into a "musical chord". A lesser quality perfume to my nose will be going along and I'm waiting for the musical chord but it doesn't quite make it there in tune. It falls flat? A flat note. Btw, I did layer them together and they do compliment each other well. I'd say if you're curious enough to try these, do it.

Konga5000

Damned if I know what all you people are talking about.....
I just purchased this at T.J. Mish-Mosh here in the United States. Feb. 2016.
$9.99
Smells like a can of cream soda spilled over a vinyl table cloth that's drying out in the sun.
100% synthetic "body spray" smell.
Did I get a "bad batch" ? Or did they just level this crap off to lower cost "body spray" price tag?
Horrid.

nvenus

I'm pleased and surprised by this beautiful fragrance. I got this for a good price so I wasn't sure I would like it but I did. It's warm spicy, woody, balsamic and floral. I think it could give me a headache, 'cause it's quite strong, but one spray is good and I really, really like the scent of if.

If you like woody + (warm) spicy + balsamic notes together, you will like this :)

Suzybee

I was at Marshall's thinking Super Bowl Sunday would be a great day to go shopping and every football hating woman was there, too! haha

As I was perusing the fragrance stands, I found this little gem hidden behind other ones. I was so excited to finally get a hold of Madonna's first fragrance and her homage to Robert Piguet and her late mother.

When I got home, I sprayed this on my wrist and it occurred to me, this was Truth or Dare NAKED. But WOW, WOW, what a pleasant surprise!! It is beautiful and reminds me slightly of BBW Cashmere Glow. In the Fall Winter line up but not exactly the same.

Brava, Madonna, me gusta muchas!!!

Shoshi

I thought I would like this!
I like the original Truth or Dare.
And I love floral woody musk fragrances in general.
But this one is a bit too sweet for me.
I don't smell any fruity-ness, just a sugary warm overly sweet smell.

ivlia

For me it's a winter scent that one can use if they feel like having chocolate but are on a diet. :)

It is pure, dry cacao for me, warmed up by some benzoin, vanilla and honeysuckle hints. I have no associations with nudity when I smell it, rather with warm woolen socks and a fireplace.

Yummy and really, really nice, unlike most celebrity fragrances that seem all the same to me. Linear. Poor longevity, but for this price you can respray without any remorse.

n87

This is one of the nicest celebrity fragrances iv'e smelt so far. It smells quite medicinal, and it's pleasantly masculine. Longevity's average, but it's cheap enough to spray liberally throughout the day. I keep getting a hint of menthol. A very nice unique fragrance. Well worth trying for how little it costs.

BuenaGirl

I picked this up as a blind buy for a great price, largely because of positive reviews and my appreciation for the original Truth or Dare. I was expecting much more from this frag, but it is still quite nice. I get a strong hit of sweet fruit on the top notes (I'll guess it's the peach blossom and honeysuckle, although I really couldn't discern the honeysuckle and I grew up enjoying them in the summer), then hints of the cacao and a nice warm oud/sandalwood base. But it all went by so quickly! So softly...so very discreetly. Not what I'm looking for in an incarnation of Truth or Dare. I'll use this up eventually but will not repurchase; I remain a fan of the original TOD.

Last year, this was suggested to me here on Fragrantica.
A unisex amberish scent..was what I was looking for.
I blind bought Madonna Truth or Dare Naked for $10...eBay. The day I received it..I was still recovering from a cold/sinus condition...alas..I sprayed two shots..one on each arm....and ...bang!! I almost got sick!!! I was SO dissapointed. I put it away in a drawer and forgot about this bad experience. I moved into a new place in November..so I found my bottle of Naked ..still in the box. Forgot about it..AGAIN. Until today...when I was re-reading reviews of this....So...I decided to give it a shot again. AND....voila !!! I am loving it today!
The illness I was getting over the first time had a direct effect on my sense of smell that day.Naked, I find is boozy...ambery...to me, NOT powdery...thank God.
It reminds me of old-school type vibe.I will give it a full wear to fully determine ....but as of now..I am glad I gave it a second chance !! It is unisex to me,has a masculine tone. Happy...again. For the price...and the scent...8/10.

Fragaria

I don't love many scents like this......gahhhhh, I LOVE this. I shouldn't. I can't believe I DO! I don't want to wear it because it's not ME. It's not MY type. I love it...for no apparent reason. LOVE it.

Konga5000 mentions cream soda...it DOES have that soft vanilla-ish-y cream soda smell and taste. To me, it's a good thing....sooo addicting.

shell_bell

Oh, Maddy.
Ever since I watched you writhe all over that wedding cake back in 85 I've been entranced. I have been watching you grow and evolve for decades now but lucky for me I finally get to experience your perfume!

Not sure what I was expecting but this is NOT it! The vanilla orchid hits me first. It is SUPERB and like nothing else in my extensive wardrobe. I also get a slightly butterscotch type vibe with some delicate woodsy notes in the background. Just like Mads, it's DIVINE and I can't stop holding my wrist to my nose for just another whiff of this delicious concoction!

I'm shocked that incense isn't a note here because I'm getting a clear shot of it right after the drydown commences. There's also zero straight vanilla listed so it must be the lovely honeysuckle giving this a sweet sexy note.

This perfume screams autumn and winter and now that the weather is finally starting to get really chilly I'm looking forward to wearing this a LOT!
Great prices to be had all over Amazon for huge bottles of this and I suggest you give it a try. There's something for everyone when it comes to Mads! ;)

petravesna

I wanted to try a "chocolate" smell and this along with the good price fitted the bill. Sprayed for the first time, it vaguely reminded me of Organza by Givenchy with its oriental smell but without sugar vanilla and Angel by Mugler with its cedar, hint of chocolate and incense. I love Angel as it has a big exciting personality. If Angel is attention drawing, love/hate, big impact perfume then this is a Cinderella. For being Madonna, this is a very subdued perfume. The longevity could be better. Perhaps, layering might help.
The opening bursts into cedar/ coumarin wrapped into warm incense/benzoin with thrown a few flowers in it and sprinkled with chocolate. I cannot call this a "chocolate" one. It's more cedar/incense with warm tones steering it away from being masculin. The cedar neither exciting nor extravagant is a welcome opposition to sweet sugary perfumes making a change but the longevity makes this perfume wanting.

I got this on clearance at TJ Maxx, and wish they'd had two of them. Of course, I didn't know I'd like it this much then. I bought it based on the reviews here, thanks to being able to pull them up on my phone. I like the bottle, but the perfume inside is really, really good if you love gourmands. I do get a root beer float vibe, but I sort of like that. It's sweet, creamy, and just plain wonderful. I think it has a certain maturity to it though too. It's not just straight up sugary sweet.

I've never tried Madonna's first perfume because I'm not a huge white floral lover, but I'm so glad I bought this based off reviews. This has quickly moved into my top ten. I find it to be in the same family as Dior Hypnotic Poison, although they don't smell the same. I've a huge love of Hypnotic Poison, and longevity is better with HP, but it's not awful with this much cheaper Madonna perfume. On me, it wears quite a while, and I can't say that about a lot of perfumes. I sure hope this hasn't been discontinued. Definitely back up bottle worthy for me.

Cel405

I have the original Truth or Dare, and having loved that, I figured I'd like this as well. And I do! I think it smells very different from the original, but still wonderful in its own right. I smell the cocoa, peach, sandalwood, vanilla and honeysuckle. It smells so cozy and warm! It feels like if you snuggled up on the softest, comfiest couch there is while wrapped up in a fluffy blanket.

It's sweet, strong and the scent definitely carries, so tread lightly. Test out 1 spray at first, it's that strong. Well, on me it is. I really enjoyed its warmth and the scent is nicely complex in my opinion. It's not a flat, boring, one-note scent at all. For the cheap (compared to high end fragrances) price, it is a very good deal, considering how long the bottle will last.

Snicole82

I think this scent is awesome. Who says cheap can't be good?!

Got a 50ml off of ebay for $10. I'm not necessarily a Madonna fan, but this scent is good.

I smell vanilla, cocoa, spice and BENZOIN. It's subtle and not loud. If this was named by some obscure niche perfumer, it would be flying off of the shelves.

Longevity is okay and sillage is soft.

edlih

This was also for me a very cheap blind buy, based on the good reviews. Well i am happy i have it, on me the longivity is good aswell is the sillage. I love this scent, i have never tried the first TOD but this TOD Naked i really like a lot and i am so surprises that one has for such a low price such a good fragrance, unilike others i even like the bottle. I don't like Madonna but this fragrance is better than some high end fragrances. Well DONE Madonna

Fragaria

A favorite bottle of mine is Prada Infusion d'Iris. This bottle isn't one I necessarily like, but it's very lovely for those who seek a more ornate appearance. I was quite impressed how much I LIKED looking at it. It's appearance isn't cheap like photos make it look.
I wouldn't buy this again ONLY because it's not my regular genre and I'll probably never use up what I have. Also, one light spray is more than enough to last at least twelve hours. I get huge longevity from this and Alfred Sung. If you even hug someone with one of these pretty scents, you will also wear it for a bit. There are some that find a problem with longevity as everyone is different. But I find most will agree it's persistent!
The price I paid is 8.00 for 2.5 ounces. A more than fair price! This has been compared to Obsession, Tabu, and Youth Dew. I agree it's that genre, but I don't like those three at all. I'm loving this! I read a review that stated they smelled root beer in this and Youth Dew.....and maybe Tabu? Not sure on that one. But I find no root beer or ANY thing redeeming in those two/three. I do smell the root beer in this! Bath and Body Works has Cashmere Glow that I smell root beer in also. I like both, Naked and Cashmere Glow, granted Cashmere Glow is a much softer scent than this is. This the "mother" of Cashmere Glow to me.
The enjoyment of this scent.....I find it very special. I don't think it's really a blue jeans and T type of scent. Myself, I'll wear it whenever I want. To categorize this, I would have choose evening and special events.
This is a really strong scent as I've mentioned, and it seems to be very heavy as if it had a lot of vanilla. Vanilla to my nose, is so "stuffy" and makes it hard to breath. I tolerate this very well. Does it have vanilla in there somewhere? It acts like it does, but I can still breath...with caution.
This is a scent I believe any person that likes big, bold, heavy scents will LOVE....most often. I have found even I myself like it a lot! I suggest you try this no matter who you are. Spray it on your arm. Spray it on a tissue. Smell the tissue the next day after you've showered. I think you will be surprised. I've been dragging this tissue around for two days and I can STILL smell it just sitting on a table next to me. It's what I would want to smell like.... on certain days. What a joy ride this scent has turned out to be. A very good quality, long lasting, rich and exotic (forgot the whole exotic paragraph!) scented gift to yourself or others...uh wait, maybe not a good idea to gift to others!
If this scent isn't you....it's certainly not ME.... do try because it might be you on certain days. I look forward to the days it will be me.

Edit - I reviewed far too soon. I have to leave this so I can see the difference two weeks and several wears make. Just today, it's a much milder scent.

lady_ireth264

Oh I love this sweet dreamy concoction.
Madonna Truth or Dare Naked is first a burst of floral freshness. I'm glad there's no insect repellent stage at all for my skin. It's a blend of very innocent and unassuming white flowers that I cannot differentiate, very well mixed.
That stage lasted just as you spray the perfume, perhaps 5 seconds, well for me at least.
And it's the middle notes I love most. Cacao in abundance but not tooth-aching sweetness that's cloying. Just the right amount of cacao. Perhaps because again it's blended well with the vanilla orchid.
Then in two hours the cacao is plunged darker, more solid with the oud. This drydown is very nice. I need to pay attention to this last stage more next time, coz I fell asleep by then.
This perfume may not be a powerhouse bomb, I agree it's silage is moderate and longevity 4-6 hours but it's FBW for those whose chemistry works with it. Coz I can tell you it's one heck of a mouth watering skin scent. This is my first perfume with cacao note and I'm very happy with my Madonna Truth or Dare Naked.
And have I mentioned the bottle is dang gorgeous!?

Edit : I wear this quite often nowadays and really absolutely enjoy it. Get lots of compliments as well ^_^

pretty mini collector

This is so amazing! It starts out like Alien Essence Absolue, a creamy root beer float, but then it deviates completely to a smoky incense and finally grounds to oud. Mmmm, perfect! I haven't had a chance to try Alien Oud, but I imagine it smells exactly this. If it doesn't, Mugler could learn a thing or two from this perfume!

Sharipie

Love at first spray! To me this started out smelling exactly like a root beer float. The only other perfume I got that from is Hypnotic Poison. But the similarities end there. ToDN really surprised me! I blind bought it after reading all the reviews and I knew it would be good but not THIS good! It's very warm and balsamic and I can definitely smell the vanilla and Amber. Someone asked me the other day if I was wearing patchouli oil. I don't smell patch but it must be the incense that gives it that vibe. Longevity and silage are moderate. It lasted a good 5 hours on my shirt which is good for me.
I'll definitely be buying more bottles! Got mine on eBay for $11. Can't beat that!

Edit: My boyfriend just walked by me and said he smells coconut. Must be the coco butter others are mentioning. He loves it though!

AngieGCarp

Okay....I'm hooked....caramely, boozy, woody....not at all how I imagined. Better really. Think I better get a back up because this one is going to get used up quickly!

Edit: I can't get my family to stop complimenting me on this. I must be a little asnomic toward it because I don't smell but the first 1 hour on me but I sprayed some on yesterday and my husband said this morning that my perfume smelled really nice...also, if my daughter likes it that is saying a lot...she is the worlds worst perfume critic. So, just adding that thought to say this was a great blind buy.

Duskfall

ToDN is absolutely gorgeous! The boozy sweet opening mellows down to a smooth and woody (still relatively sweet) drydown. It almost has a gourmand feel to it. Heavenly choice for cooler weather!

Decent lasting power. The sillage is moderate, but has a potential to be heavy if "oversprayed"".

ewanhoozarmy

Swapped the original with my mum for this. While I appreciate the original, that good ol' smack to the face white floral, I don't love it like I do this one. Also, the swap seemed to make sense, as I feel ToDN can easily be worn by a man. It's very cosy and resinous and that cacao rounds things off beautifully. I am an oud megafan, so to have that accord in such a bargain fragrance is a bonus. Such a great scent for anyone to have in their arsenal, but I would recommend it to men perhaps, who are fans of Givenchy Pi. To me, it evokes a similar vibe. Or to layer with other scents, to give a, warmer, sweeter edge. Unfortunately, sillage and longevity on me is not as impressive as the original, but that is to be expected I suppose, given ToD's nuclear nature. However, it does like to linger for a good while. I would urge everyone to try it!

mikemuscles21

This should have been the first one that was released instead of the original.
I love this one and I wear it. It's sweet but I just love the smell, and her.

Chelsea1605

Another amazing blind buy based on reviews (and a fantastic £7 price)

The first thing I smell is something I haven't smelt before - could be the benzoin? I don't know what it is but it's drawing me in.

I get a dirty woody floral with an oriental twist and i want to bathe in it it smells that good.

Edit: it's been about an hour and I'm getting something menthol/minty but dont know what it is?

Mdox407

Okay, so I just bought this yesterday doing some black-Friday-weekend shopping and since I bought so many fragrances, I tested some right when I got home, and waited to test the other couple the next day, which is today.

As I've said in other reviews...98% of the time I know with the first spritz immediately whether I like a fragrance or not. I'm the same way with music. I'm very decisive. Things don't usually "grow" on me and I'm not a person who is normally "unsure" per say, about many things.

This however...was one of the few exceptions...just like Hilary Duff's perfume "With Love" was the same way for me. This fragrance I sprayed...and immediately thought..."Oh god. This smells terrible. Kinda of like a woody/weird medicine smell." But then I went about my business...walked my dog...ate my lunch...and 15 minutes later, I put my wrist to my nose again and I really liked it! Smells very warm...woodsy...You can deff smell the cocoa also.

I wouldn't necessarily say this is a love for me...but a strongg like. And it is most definitely not cheaply made. It lasts about 7 hours on me which is HUGE for not only a celeb scent...but for a fragrance I paid $10 for at TJ Maxx (and I got the biggest bottle it comes in mind you.) Also...sillage is very big. I only sprayed less than 1 full spray on my wrist and it had a decent projection. I'm sure it'll project in a major way when I wear it as normal on my skin and clothes.

One more thing I must give it props for :: It's VERY versatile. This can (with absolute ease) be pulled off by any man. It's very masculine. Very. =)

So with this fragrance...when you first try and/or buy it...spray it on your wrist...and give it 15-20 minutes before you smell and judge it. It's very odd and strong the second it comes out of the sprayer.

Overall rating : 7.5 possibly 8/10

Great Job Madonna! I may go buy the original TOD next week.

:D

nm4

You Americans are lucky..here in Europe this frag is hard to find ,and I want it...!

AliPratt25

I have been on the lookout for this fragrance after reading the positive reviews on here and I finally found a 75 ml bottle at Marshall's for $9.99! I have the original Truth or Dare and this is a totally different perfume. I like the original ToD but I looovve this one. It smells sooo familiar to me....Twilight Woods by BBW? Viva La Juicy? Some uber-popular fragrance from the 90's? I'm not sure but it smells really good. First thoughts:
*warm spicy
*cocoa butter
*oriental
*hint of mint from the benzoin
*unisex fragrance
*perfect for fall & winter
*lily
I'm not great at determining notes or describing certain scents....but this is a lovely warm, spicy, boozy, floral with a tiny bit of mint in the background that keeps it clean and not overly sweet. Bottomline - it smells great! Try it, you can't go wrong especially for the price. Kudos on developing another great fragrance Madonna!

Alyssa79

Blind TJ Maxx buy for $3.99 - score!

Initial spray on me - a super sticky and sweet syrupy peach which made me instantly think of my beloved discontinued Escada Collection - double score!

This perfume is magnificent. It lasted quite some time - 8+ hours and the silage was good too.

Gourmand lovers, give it a try. It's not a vanilla bomb which is refreshing but is still in the delicious I can't stop sniffing my wrist because it smells like dessert family.

Allegra

To be honest, I didn't like the original ToD at all (WAY too much tuberose!) but this is something else with a capital S. It wraps you up in a warm, soothing and cosy layer of spice, creamy wood, flowers and vanilla. I just sprayed it onto my clothes and now I cannot stop smelling myself, the scent is so tantalizing. It's feminine and masculine at the same time, and suitable for a vast age group.

Excellent choice for the upcoming winter season as the days get shorter and the air cooler. ToD Naked is just the right amount of elegance and warmth to make you feel better during the cold months. Born and raised in Michigan, Madonna sure knows what it takes to go through this time of the year.

ghostie77

This perfume blows my mind!!! I got it as a blind buy thanks to all you lovely peeps at fragrantica, and boy, am I glad I did. (I can't believe it cost £6.99 for 75 ml AND a 100ml body lotion.)

It kind of reminds me of Angel, but this is softer. It's just all beautiful, powdery chocolate and ambery goodness. It's the middle to end stage of Angel. The character of the first spray reminds me (in spirit, not actuality) of Hypnotic Poison, in that the smell is like an instant, high end, 'dry down' smell. The very, very last notes of Tresor smell a little bit like the first spray of this.

It's sweet, but not cloying in any way at all. (I've smelled Killian's 'Love', a sickly sweet, chocolatey, ambery concoction that costs almost 200 quid, and it's not a patch on this.) This has vanilla flower, rather than vanilla pod, and there's no vanilla in the basenote which maybe stops it getting sickly.

The only complaint I have is silage and longevity - both kind of suck. I squirt 8 times to get the same strength as say, 2 squirts of Tresor. Buy hey, at that price, I can't complain.

I have no strong feeling about Madonna either way, but she's a sharp business woman and this perfume is head and shoulders better than ALL celeb fragrances. In fact, it's now my signature scent. Thank you, Madge.

EDITED A MONTH LATER....
Just wanted to say, that as much as I liked this fragrance, I don't love it any more. It's certainly not signature scent worthy. I think I was just so bowled over by a celeb fragrance that was actually good, it went to my head. Because IT IS good, but it still smells relatively cheap and synthetic and the longevity is weak. I have cheapos from Next clothes shop that last longer. It's still nice though, and I use it on days when I don't want to waste the really pricey stuff. I stand by my claim that it's the best celeb frag I've come across.

Daisydukes

I bought this on the cheap at TJMaxx. After the initial blast of peach floral, I get a minty hit. It's a bit fascinating. In school I played Field Hockey and Lacrosse. I absolutely smell a bit of the athletic trainer's office where people went to get taped and the boys used a lot of Bengay muscle rub.

This may sound like a negative comment- it's not at all. I enjoy TOD Naked but is extremely unusual to my nose. The minty aspect really throws me off. It also smells a bit of the white tape used on ankles etc. Not exactly medicinal or like a Band aid.

I'm wearing in now and will use it I think. It's just amazing to me that a cool mint is prominent to my nose but not listed on the pyramid.

darina.ivanova

Following the numerous great reviews, I decided to give it a go.
The perfume is huge disappointment for me despite the notes in the pyramid (and I love every single note in the pyramid), but the mixture (I can't even say that there is a composition there) is far from what they call good fragrance.

This is my personal opinion. I would not recommend to anyone to spend even few pounds for this perfume. I believe that there are many others on the market within the same price range that are probably much better than ToD Naked.

thebee

This was a surprisingly good blind buy. I saw Truth or Dare Naked advertised at an amazingly cheap price yesterday and, not knowing about it, came straight here to read the reviews. Swayed by your enthusiasm, I bought a bottle and have been wearing it for about five hours today. I actually really liked the initial hit on my wrist (somewhere between Poison and Angel). The drydown has become much softer and closer to my skin. I agree with others that it's cosy. Smelling my wrist now, there's a gentle balsamic chocolate scent with a dab of dark fruitiness. I had hoped for greater longevity, but I did apply lightly and have been enjoying its' company all afternoon.

weasley

This smells like fruity wood to me. The cacao is not obvious, but looking at the notes I can imagine the cacao somewhere in there. It's quite powdery, but not dry at all. The sweetness is very subtle and overall it is very soft and pleasant.

I think it is really nice, and for the price it is a great catch. I'm not really wowed by it though, but might consider it in the future when I just need a easy, basic, sweet fragrance, that works anytime anywhere.

veraverae

All I get from the opening and the first hour or so on my skin is a blast of grape cough medicine and lots of menthol. Very harsh and medicinal and sharp. The dry down is better, but I don't get warm and cozy at all anywhere. I wanted to love this, but sadly it just doesn't work with my skin.

Rie60

Just got this scent- I love the original-sillage bomb and very long lasting. This is beautiful in a completely different way.The peach, sandalwood and cedar stand out to me. Very much a warm fall scent. Someone mentioned the bottle looking like a relic- I believe it's actually fashioned after a Holy water bottle.

mrastley

This smells as great as the original Truth or Dare smells awful. And that's saying a lot. Seriously, whatever it is that Truth or Dare shares with Stefani's Lamb fiasco -- and I am guessing it is the gardenia -- makes me physically sick.

But Truth or Dare Naked removes all of the offensive notes. It's genuinely pretty. Even the bottle looks better.

petroleuse

This is sweet, but not in the Hypnotic Poison way nor the Manifesto way. It opens with a very strong smell of flowers and honeysuckle and settles beautifully on the benzoin, vanilla and woods+spices. The longivity is amazing, and it wears well even though it has quite heavy sillage. The smell is so pleasant, that I can wear it "loudly" without being intrusive on people around me. Actually I'm quite sure I caught a woman in the metro sniffing me the other day! Haha, she smiled as she got off, so I am guessing she liked it :)I wear this to bed and my partner loves it. This is not raunchy but also not "nice girly". I will admit that although I like it a lot, it doesn't come off as exquisite as say Thierry Muglers Alien Essence..All the notes mix easily and don't come with any surprises. It only cost me 10 euros after all...But it is def a winner!

chickincanada

I'm sure someone is going to call me stupid and/or crazy, but this one reminds me of Hugo Boss (the original for men, I think it's called Number One now). I'm a female, and when it first came out in 1987, it was heavily advertised, and after returning from a summer trip in Europe, I thought I was cultured and all grown-up and picked up a bottle of Hugo Boss on my way home at Schippol Airport (it's actually kind of scary I remember all this, 27 years later).

Anyway, I thought I was pig's shit because I was a girl wearing a guy's scent, but it oddly worked on me. And Truth or Dare Naked totally reminds me of it. I think it's the strong overtones of the woody-ness on my skin with a hint of powder. At this moment, I am transported back to 1988 with my floral-hem jeans rolled up at the ankles and making out with my boyfriend under the maple tree freezing our butts off before we had to head home before curfew.

That said, I don't think I will wear this scent, lol. Some things are best left down the memory lane.

edited to change Hugo Boss Number One, I had called it "The One", and also to add "Naked" to ensure I was quoting the right perfume.

rschmidt65

Wow! Another great one by Madonna of all things.
Every perfume rule I have has an exception. I don't do Celebuscents has been my most enduring rule but this one and it's sister Truth or Dare are now the exceptions.
I love smoky, dry scents and this one is that. It's benzoin sweet rather than ethyl malitol sweet. Despite it's sweetness, I don't consider this a proper gourmand. The dryness balances the sweetness too well.
Another rule of mine is I hate cheap, obviously synthetic concoctions. Obviously this is cheap, and synthetic, but it's not at all screechy or overwhelming. It's warm complex and layered and whatever chemicals are in there don't feel alarming or overwhelming.
I've smelled plenty of expensive niche fragrances far more obviously chemical and obnoxious.
Just a wonderful fragrance at any price.

whammy

CREAMY BENZOIN

I don't know if I've got a dodgy bottle, but this smells like a hot mess. It gives me a headache and smells like vanilla that has went out of date. It was cheap to buy and smells cheap.

I had high expectations for this and judging from the notes I thought this would be right up my street, I was so wrong!

Melodiarose82

Another review, just because I can and I want to. :)

Wow!!! Out of all the perfumes that I own... Many, being very expensive- this stuff rocks the boat in a big way! It's delicious, intoxicating, smooth, boozey, rich, sweet but in a raw womanly- take me now- kind of way. I am highly impressed with this perfume. Go Madonna! Her fragrances rock.

Melodiarose82

At first spritz, this smells exactly like these little potted lip glosses that I used to have as a kid! It's weird. It's nostalgic... I've never smelled a fragrance like this. But as I said, the scent is so familiar! I'm a little kid again. But how do I really feel about this as a perfume...? This is first spritz- so, I'll let it settle for a bit... I know how the drill goes! Oh, wait- Now, I smell menthol! Vicks vapor rub! Hmm.... This is odd... From kiddie pretend lipstick/lipgloss to Vick's vapor rub...? :/

Strangely addicting- reminding me of my raver days- lol Binkies and Vicks... I wonder how (and if) this will evolve... The funny thing is, it's helping my dried out desert Arizona living sinuses (maybe that's why I only smell what I smell) Nevertheless... sniff sniff away. Stay tuned. :-P

Took a shower- spritzed some more... thinking- it's weird (as in totally different). I like it. I might even love it. We'll see. :)

Edit# :-P : I'm still exploring this lady of a scent... the words that come to mind are decadent, tribal, explorative, delicious... unique... seductive... It gives me a feeling that no other perfume has given me yet. It's sensual, sexual raw, *woman* Wow. What an intoxicatingly different kind of fragrance trip! Love!

OVERALL EXPERIENCE: This stuff is amazing!!! I think I found a new signature scent. I am so blown away impressed!! Ladies, gentlemen, whoever- this is a must try! And you must explore it and let it entrance you!!! Sexy as all hell. Woohoo!!!!

nickhi1984

I had no other choice but to blind buy this, as this fragrance is not readily available in South Africa. I bought it based on reviews and based on one specific person describing it as "caramelly deep resinous sweet". Well, I just received my bottle and I am floored! I have seen a few negative reviews and got scared for a moment, but this is deliciously gorgeous! On me it becomes almost instantly sweet, caramel / chocolate. I am so happy I bought this fragrance :)

EDIT: I kept smelling this, thinking that it reminds me of something. I couldn't quite put my finger on it though... And then it clicked! With Love by Hilary Duff. No, it is not 'similar', not it is not a 'duplicate'. But it does have the same 'vibe' and the same spicey feel that With Love does. I adore this fragrance and I'm sorry I didn't buy a bigger bottle! Since I'll be on a no-buy until December, I will savour this fragrance, because by then I'll probably not be able to find it in South Africa anymore

Museumgal

I find the peach blossom surprsingly strong in the first hour or so -- sort of overwhelms the composition. Once that fades it is creamy, sweet and rich, like a fancy chocolate bar. Warm and cozy, a very comforting scent. But the peach note is very distracting in the opening -- it doesn't seem to blend as well. Moderate sillage, lasts about 6 hours.

Chicago Tony T

Very well balanced between florals, sweets and woods. Many women said a guy can pull this off so I tried it and I agree. As mentioned before, it's sort of like Givenchy Pi or Cologne of the Missions with florals and a creamy sandalwood dry down. It is sweet but not overbearing.

SmellieKat

I can't stop spraying this one. Morning and then again at night - love it. Naked has all the caramel, smokey tobacco richness without the patchouli...which is hard to find. It smells like orange creamies and incense and sandalwood and amber, rounded out by bubble gum and vanilla. Beautiful.

Pimpernell

Of all my expencive parfumes, been collecting for years, this one is the one that has become my signature, my go to fragrance. How a fragrance of this quality can be so inexpencive I do not know, but I am forever grateful. Now I can stock up and enjoy this for years to come. Big LOVE!

Bigsly

Wow, this is really good, especially when you take current prices into account. It's sort of like Pi, but not as sweet and a bit floral, though perhaps with a stronger woody quality (once you get to the drydown). I think I might prefer this to vintage Pi because it's more dimensional, which prevents the sweetness from becoming too obvious, and potentially irritating over time. There's even a kind of boozy quality that works well in this composition. And it's certainly strong enough! Though spice is not listed, there is a chili pepper type quality, and you must be able to handle quite a bit of benzoin!

UPDATE: I think what I was thinking of as chili powder is the oud note. Anyway, I'd say this is like a unisex/niche version of Pi.

To me, this smells like ToD but with cocoa. And I thought the original smelled like Yves Rocher Monoi de Tahiti oil and so this does to. But with cocoa. A bit nutty, vanilla and as said, cocoa. Will probably not use it much. A bit flat. Nothing offensive, just not as interesting as I hoped it would be.

This truly gives me nausea. I do not smell any of the stated ingedients, just a blast of something syrupy and sickeningly sweet. Like Angel, this is an olfactory insult to your surroundings, only that on top of it ToD smells cheap.

This is a very unusual mixture, it has to be explored slowly! I've had the same experience with niche perfumes - "wise men say only fools rush in".
This reminds me the oriental perfumes -thick, aromatic, quite strong and sensual. Like an oriental woman covered in veils - she seems unapproachable and mysterious in the same time. And under that veil, there is so much warm sensuality and beauty!
This is like a rich, expensive, dark liqueur - you have to take your time, to sip it slowly and appreciate the taste (this means -apply the perfume lightly, otherwise it can be too strong). The same aromatic, warm, cozy mood, the last sun rays late in the evening going through your liqueur glass and making it look like a liquid amber. At this point this perfume reminds me a bit Thierry Mugler's Alien flankers (and sometimes Le Parfum by Lalique too), but this one is cozier, warmer, more "fluffy", more wearable (for some people) maybe.
The main element I get here is a rich spice mixture, and there's an unexpected menthol vibe too. The flowers are floating in the background, they nicely melt together and make the perfume more feminine (but I guess the scent would be interesting on a man too). The drydown becomes gourmand, but it still keeps that wonderful spicy warmth. I think it will be magic in the winter (or the cold autumn days).
Overall it's unique, sensual, aromatic gourmand and rich, but not for everybody (I guess those who are in love with the popular sweet-fruity vibe perfumes, won't love this at the first sniff... but who knows what happens later :)).

The longer I wear this perfume, the more I like it.

Truth or Dare Naked by Madonna was a blind buy for me and a huge success! I love it! When I first spray this I get that grape vibe which I thoroughly enjoy from the neroli and honeysuckle. As it begins to dry down I smell the vanilla orchid with just a hint of cacao and the thick resinous sweetness of the benzoin. I like that this has a complex sweetness rather than just some typical sugary fruity thing we have come to expect from celebs. The bottle is fabulous and I hope that Madonna continues to make stunning fragrances!

Another purchase based on member reviews and as always you don't disappoint. So creamy and warm, like a fine liqueur. I get the lovely sandalwood and lots of vanilla. I generally dislike vanilla but Madonna has got it just right for me with this one. There is something familiar and comforting about this one, like a warm, cosy jumper on a miserable day. For me this is refined and ladylike, not loud or in your face at all but the longevity is excellent, I could still smell it on my wrists this morning 16 hours after spraying, this is what I want from a perfume. I would love to smell this on someone else as my skin just seems to amplify the vanilla in any scent but not a problem with this one, the other ingredients more than compensate. Well done Madonna.

well I liked it upon first sniff. I don't get the negative reviews. to me its a lovely powdery warm vanilla that is what I wear when Im not feeling particularly extravagant. I don't wear it often but to me its lovely and inoffensive. a great bedtime perfume

First blind buy and a real disappointment. I do not smell the Cacao, vanilla Orchid, benzoin, sandalwood or oud. I just get a loud, unpleasant, chemically vanilla. What a scrubber. No more blind buys for me. Never again.
