My anticipation for Michael Jordan legend quickly turned to regret. The bottle's design and atomizer were the first letdowns, requiring over 10 sprays to catch a whiff of scent. What little aroma emerged was faint, synthetic, and far too generic, vanishing almost immediately. Contrary to promotional images, the juice was nearly clear, not the vibrant yellow expected. This discrepancy raises concerns about whether my bottle was a reformulation or a counterfeit. Considering its performance and the disparity with its marketing, the price is unjustifiable. I advise potential buyers to proceed with caution and cannot recommend this fragrance. I bought it from Notino March 2024.

Draydince

I'm wondering if I somehow got a knockoff? I had purchased a bottle a few years ago that had a dark brown liquid and it had an amazing sweet syrupy coffee smell. I finished that bottle and bought a new one. The new one has completely clear liquid, and smells a good deal weaker and lacks a lot of that sweet smell. It's mostly lavender, and it disappears after about 30 minutes where my older brown liquid bottle would last at least 4 hours on me minimum. I absolutely loved the brown liquid. The clear liquid one I have now is just ok.

Old_SnakeTwitch

It's just ridiculously fantastic for the price. And regularly fantastic in general.
Amazing deal at $15, amazing deal at $25, $40, $50
Performance is not as bad as people think, it's the sprayer that sucks. Worst sprayer in the history of bottle sprayers ever, sprays unevenly and barely at all. So overspray, and realise the performance is nothing less than average. If not pretty decent.
Also its pretty versatile for a sweet one. Other than hot summer days you can wear it whenever you want
(Even as an Anise hater, it dosent bother me here)

zcsmith78

Just echoing what others have said - a wonderful sweet, syrupy coffee gourmand scent that actually lasts for about four hours on my skin. VERY similar to a more expensive scent, New Haarlem by Bond #9. My only issues, if I were to nitpick, would be that I wish it would last longer (8+ hours) on my skin because it smells SO dang good, and I found the atomizer to below average. For the price though...you can't do better. Highly recommend.

If you were a frag head in the 95-05 era this fragrance will smell familiar. It has that sweet floral note that nearly every cologne, men’s or women’s, had at the time; think of it as Eternity for men Christmas addition. It’s a fragrance that puts a big smile on my face because it’s very bright and crisp for a winter ambery scent. And despite having that Y2K dna it is also somewhat modern because of that sweet spicy coffee note. Hands down the best cheapie I’ve ever purchased. I will wear this one a lot.

Edit: it’s not listed, but this has a big blast of iris in the opening. If it were not for the sweet floral base this would absolutely compete with many of the big hitting sweet iris fragrances of 2023-2024. It’s funny though because I like the surprising upbeat of the lavender hiding under all that sweet spice.

ashroloie

The scent to wear when you want to cuddle up with your woman to watch a film at night. Smells really good. It's like Christmas cookies with coffee/cream basically. The atomizer has a very plastic feeling and could work better. A small flaw overall though.

A true hidden gem known among us fragrance nerds while the normal folk overpay full retail for basic Hugo boss and Calvin Klein lol.

DJ Joe Freitas

If every Hallmark Christmas movie could have a scent, then Legend by Michael Jordan would be it.

Akel

Sometimes i wonder how some fragrances are so cheap with so fantastic scent and quality. Michael Jordan's Legend is one of them. It's unbelievable how good this perfume is especially if you think of its price(15€/100ml). I don't get any coffee vibes but i get a fresh opening that turns to woody and spicy scent a couple of minutes later. Highly recommended for fall and winter.

jackchemin

Love the smell of this! Very well blended. I can see why Michael Jordan didn’t mind putting his name on this! Lasts a solid 6 hours then a skin scent another 4 hours.

defectedmonkey

I had this recommended to me a long time ago. It was never a priority purchase for me. However I did manage to spot one for $13 dollars at Burlington recently and here we are. In my mind this is a slightly less lactonic version of Coffee Break by Maison Martin Margiela. The opening has a burst of alcohol, but after that it's pretty solid for the price.
It's fairly redundant for me now, I wish I would have bought this when I first started my collection.

Kendrick

No wonder this doesn't stay on the shelf in stores. This is a decent scent and deserves a try for the price if you can get your hands on it.

LLdeduction

Delicious scent, edible even. Bonus for staying on skin for quite some time.

Phenomenal for the price.

JamesPawn

Animale Animale for Men will substitute this if you cant find legend both are in the same ballpark. i do get polo red vibes a lil too all of these are great smelling scents

Freakmoney

One of the best value scents out there! An excellent fall-winter fragrance choice for scent. The performance leaves a bit to be desired with it only lasting about 3 hours in my experience, but at the price can’t complain. Good mix of smoky, spicy, and gourmand.

Rob321x

This fragrance is back at all retailers! And I bought a bottle , I already have several bottles, all newer bottles are a clear juice, so they changed that in newer batches. The scent seems a little weaker, but still has the same DNA.

Sweetboy05

Reminds me of waffles with syrup and coffee in the morning. It smells delicious!

SLGAZ

I’m very pleased with this fragrance. I bought a small bottle on eBay to sample and knew immediately I would buy a full sized bottle. It basically smells great. Everyone I have let smell it loved it. My daughter said it smells delicious! It has more than gourmand notes. It also has some of the old school 80’s, 90’s vibe mixed in with spices. I see prices are going up and it’s harder to find. Hopefully it is not being discontinued.

Rob321x

How come the price jumped from 13$ to 35$-50$?

Ferra_Verto

Really good; opening blast of dry and lightly mentholated coffee grounds with a warm and airy amber. Eventually tapers off to a dried leather and dried lavender.
I get the comparison to Rochas Man, but that one reads much creamier & more lactonic to my nose, very much milky spicy chai latte.
This is perfect for transitioning weather, spring or autumn. Lasts around 6 hrs.

richmilton

Look at the reviews here and you'll see MOST people find this to smell like Rochas Man. For kicks I wore Legend and Rochas on separate hands and asked a number of people which they prefer. Most said they smell the same. As for the reviewer below me saying it smells like Sausage EDP. I'll say go to the department store and see for yourself. Don't trust any review here... not even mine. Scents smell different for us all. We may get similar vibes but just one note can make a fragrance smell totally different for people.

Dumbplings

Not similar to rochas man in any way at all, not even close. It's basically a Givenchy Pi clone or whatever came first. But also this does have some similarities with dior sauvage EDP only that powdery musky patchouli + anise smell

Ron H

A nice cheap coffee amber fragrance. Similiar to Rochas Man but MJ legend is spicier - Rochas Man is just slightly more floral and powdery.

If you like this DNA also try out Al-Rehab Rayan Black. Rayan black is a similar DNA but has less spice and lavender and is more gourmand and chocolatey.

Brooklynjade

Soft lavender and coffee. I prefer this $18 marvel over the very short lived $140 Replica Coffee Break, just wish it had the creamy lactonic note too. Absolutely unisex. Slight projection, scent lingers on skin about 5-6 hrs, before becoming a skin scent. Nice if you love lavender like I do.

AriaLennon

Very cheap and great perfume

Cassandra_Lyris

I hope this never stops being sold. It's been one of my husband's regular scents for about 20 years now, ever since I bought him his first bottle back in 2001 when we were still dating. The mix of scents smell amazing on their own but on his skin they are MAGIC.
Good, but not cloying sillage, and its longevity is great, on my hubby two sprays lasts a good 5-6 hours. He happily reapplies this after her gets home from work and showers too.
And its pricepoint, even with the current inflation you can find these for <$15. So even if you try out a bottle and don't like it you're not breaking the bank.

Armchair Racer

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This has NO BUSINESS being this good for $13! I thought it was going to be a sickly sweet syrupy synthetic mess, but it's not. It's legitimately good. It's a gourmand basketball fragrance. It's like biting into a sweet basketball. I don't even know what that means! I'm losing it! I need to stop it, get some help.

RobbieX

An excellent cheapie and doesn't smell cheap at all.
The opening is like a blend of A*men and Animale Animale. The dry down is very like Rochas Man.
Overall, it's very smooth creamy and likeable with coffee and woods prominent.
Well worth a try if you like coffee notes in a perfume.
I would say that longevity and silage are moderate to good actually, with a lovely mild coffee waft coming away from it.
I love Legend.

Rob321x

I got this a while ago just because I love coffee notes, and for the price this is a steal and a great fragrance. You will not find another fragrance for 15$ that smells this great, and lasts as long as this does I promise you that.

Teldin

Bought into the hype. Terrible open but amazing dry down. More to this than just the sweetness like the oak moss & bergamot. For the price you can't complain. Smell great on a budget.

Aus11n

For the price this is a no brainer to buy if you’re into coffee fragrances. Literally smells like Ferragamo uomo with a touch of maple syrup. Same sweet coffee/tiramisu smell for 15$

Cinnabomb

This was a surprise. I blind bought MJ Legend on the strength of both reviews and ratings here on Fragrantica, only to find it quite repellent. I'm normally partial to sweeter scents, but this is far too sweet, even for me. That coupled with the 'burnt rubber' accord makes it a hard 'no' for me.

Zombi3jak3

One of the best bang for your buck colognes. Stunning value proposition which is important. It screams professional yet intoxicating to me. Like you can roll up to work and your coworkers will smell coffee which to tell me says "I am on the job and ready to rock and roll. Time to get sh*t done!" A very sweet fragrance, I picked this up for $12 bucks for 100ml at a Burlington. Its a steal. I would say this has the potential to be a compliment monster due to that sweet aspect. I heard its similar to a discontinued bond no 9 fragrance (New Harlem), I never got to put my nose on that scent but I can say all the youtubers are correct about what this smells like. This is one I think you can wear in a flannel or even a blazer sports jacket. You can dress it up or down easily. Longevity is amazing, i sprayed it in the afternoon and it lasted until the next morning for me. That being said it doesn't project crazy for long, becomes a skin scent after 8 hours i would say. I am also a conservative sprayer, typically 3-4 max unless i feel ballsy but sometimes you are unable to smell a cologne until you do 6-8 sprays. Always experiment how each one reacts with your body. If you are a cheapie hunter like me this should be #1, better then Nautica voyage, ck shock, English laundry scents, etc in my opinion. All are good in their own rights but this one is the one i am most happy with. Happy cheapie hunting, gentleman and good luck!

Detman101

UPDATE: I don't care if this doesn't project like a nuclear bomb...it's SUCH a great fragrance!!
Until my "P.R. - Phantom" arrives...I'm wearing this all week!

LasVegasChihuahua

To me this is crack in a bottle

Yung Moses

Very average. It is worth it for the price, but there is so much alcohol in the initial burst. It is a bit of a turn-off.

rowan.walters

This was a blind buy inspired by reports of the coffee note. And the modest price. But mostly the coffee. I adore espresso and drink heart-stoppingly ridiculous quantities - partly because I have a sleep disorder (Narcolepsy) so require stimulant medication to function therefore self-medicating with espresso seems entirely reasonable, but mostly because I love the smell, taste and the ritual, the whole "tea ceremony" aspect. And that's what I was looking for.

Thus far I have worn this two days in a row, and although favourably impressed by the performance (the longevity would put Methuselah to shame) I do not detect anything that resembles coffee: just a pleasant malty, coumarin creamy, linear, sweetness that vaguely reminds me of maple syrup. .

In light of the high number of reviews below that suggest putting this to one side after opening, I shall do just that and place this in my wardrobe to "steep" or oxidise (or whatever) for at least a couple of weeks in the hope that it will blossom into full-bodied awesomeness like a caterpillar metamorphosing into a butterfly.
A fragrant butterfly that smells at least a little bit like coffee.
crosses fingers
To be continued ...

Edit: After two weeks or so it has blossomed into something richer and fuller than it was and I have become quite fond of it.

If there's a coffee note in this it's a weak American-style filter coffee (what my Spanish friends used to call "agua sucia") with that horrible powder (creamer?) and I had been hoping for a double espresso. Oh well.

Legend is warm, comforting and sweet but not too sweet. Doesn't smell artificial even though it clearly is - this creates a relaxed, friendly effect and is a real crowd pleaser. Reminds me of that Cristiano Ronaldo one with the maple syrup note - Legacy Private Edition.

whitekid3

3/13/22 update: not bad for a 3.4 oz bottle at $13 ... had to try it because of the good reviews ... they are on point, at first i got a coffee smell, then caramel, and i finally smelled the sweetness of maple syrup ... it smells nice, just like you're breakfast pancakes with maple syrup ... would i buy this fragrance again? no and for two reasons.... because there are too many others i want to try first and most importantly, the cologne gives me a f'n headache... i tried to give it a chance and wore it on 3 different occasions and every time i got a headache... would i recommend this fragrance to someone else? i get headaches from it, i just can't recommend it

I'm sitting down at the kitchen table and there's a stack of waffles, buttered and dripping with maple syrup in front of me. Just as I'm about to dig in, Michael Jordan suddenly appears and tosses a basketball in my face. After smashing my nose, it bounces off and hits the stack of waffles, scattering them across the kitchen floor.

It's been four months. I don't think this strong, pervasive and enveloping rubber opening/mid note is ever going away. If I leave a test paper with this alone for several hours the rubber dissipates revealing a decent gourmand scent, but no way I am going to put up with that for an OK deep dry down.

StacyJames

For $12.99 at Burlington I thought “Why not?” It is syrupy sweet and gourmand. Solid scent for the price. Punches above it’s weight class. Don’t expect niche quality.

pierogisandwich

I, like many other people experienced the "maceration" and I put that in quotes because as @sim0nsalas pointed out, that's definitely not what's happening. It's bizarre though. I took a whiff of this when I first got it and found some wispy caramel/coffee notes alongside strong medicinal notes... something akin to latex that really bothered me. It felt like a cozy version of a dentist office, which smelled as oxymoronic as it sounds. I revisited the bottle a week later and son of a b!tch, it's lovely now. I don't understand.
I can't say you'll have the same luck, but it's a low-risk, cheap gamble at $15-18. Maybe use it to get your cart up to a free shipping dollar amount.

sim0nsalas

Everyone needs to chill on the talk about maceration.
This is a process that happens when the fragrance oils are initially mixed with alcohol and distilled water. It takes about two weeks. I don't think that a cheap, mass-production fragrance is macerating after buying it from Burlington Coat Factory (LMAO).
People with fragrance terminology are on here like it's the Romper Room word of the week.

Note: what you are really experiencing is your olfactory sense adjusting and understanding the scent. Not everything that you smell is able to be detected the first time you experience it. Consider it like a form of nasal education / intelligence.

P. S. This scent is amazing for the price. Worth owning even if you have New Haarlem and Rochas Man.

Detman101

Hmmm...wife says this is really irritating.
That's a disappointment...I really liked this one, thought she would too.
But she's used to me wearing "Dior Homme/Intense" constantly, which is much smoother, so...

19MAR22 Disappointing Update:
Okay...so over the course of a few months in my closet, this frag has settled down and isn't as irritating to the nose. Still an alcoholic blast when spraying...but the wife isn't running away when I wore it today. However, she also hasn't complimented the fragrance...and I think I know why.

This fragrance DOES...NOT...PROJECT!!!!!

Like...at all! I gave one of my friends a hug when departing and THEN he mentioned that my cologne smelled good. I had been sitting less than 3 feet from him for the previous 2 hours and he didn't smell a thing! I know this because when I wear my Lattafa fragrances he always mentions them as soon as I am immediately within 5-6 feet. Those fragrances PROJECT for hours on end and last 48 hours on clothes.
So that tells me that this "MJ - Legend" doesn't project AT ALL. I sprayed heavily before leaving the house to meet up with my friend as well. At least 10-12 sprays (between on my chest, neck and behind each ear). At this point I wonder if it even leaves a silage trail as no one mentioned my fragrance at all in my travels today. I usually get a comment or compliment at every place I go during the day. Today....nothing.
So I'll try this again with a booster frag like "Lattafa - Ejaazi" and see if it helps it work better. If not, this frag will become a car freshener.

Senor.Blanco

The dry down resembles Guerlain L’homme Ideal - at first I get more maple than I do coffee, but that fades away as it becomes more woody. I got it for $12.99 at Burlington. I’d say it was worth it

uhohstinky

Bought this at Burlington for $12 because l wanted to try a fragrance that supposedly had coffee notes. I was wrong,l get maple syrup from this fragrance and very synthetic. l may continue to wear this around the house,or l may just push it to the back.

OrthoStice

Quick and dirty replacement for your empty bottle of New Haarlem. It isn't the same and obviously is quite a bit more synthetic, but it is more than serviceable!

My wife does tend to comment on how synthetic it really is, so it may turn some people off. I use it more as an around the house fragrance for when I want to feel warm and cozy.

MarioParfems

It is beautiful and has solid haracter but with maceration proces done right.

DodgersLH714

I bought it over a year ago, I figured "hey I covered Rochas Man/Bond no 9", after all I dont lean too hard on the sweets. Today I tried it (obviously maceration happened) and I feel it has done wonders. I truly enjoyed the scent, lasted all day in the office and beyond. Beautiful cool weather frag......for the price its a huge win!

Detman101

03NOV21
Batch No: 8115

Picked this up at Burlington for $14 today.
First impression...Very smooth and mature!
When I first sprayed this, I smelled coffee ice cream...then it dried down to a nice masculine musk that wasn't too overpowering or annoying even though it was pretty strong.

******Definitely go easy on the sprays with this one or you become a choke cloud******

The Coffee Ice Cream aroma is what projects from this frag and you only smell the musk if you smell up close to where you sprayed. I think this has a more serious/mature composure than "Halloween Man X". To me, this one is more masculine because of the strong "Musk" and Amber notes, whereas I find "HM-X" to be kinda immature and playful...it's just suuuuper sweet and never really gets serious. This fragrance, it starts out sweet but gets serious pretty quickly while still giving hints of it's sweetness...I really like that. =D

When I do happen to wear this, I will layer it with like 1-2 sprays of "HM-X" for longevity and seriousness combined. The "Musk" note in "MJ-L" will tighten up the "HM-X" nicely...well, that's what I'm hoping for anyhow...lol.

EDIT: This frag is so wild...it smells completely different in the scent bubble than it does up close. The sillage and scent-bubble is where this frag REALLY shines!
But if I smell it up close I get musk and spicyness...that I do not favor as I'm a weakling/wussy for "heavy musk" frags. I'm thinking if this is sprayed below clothes or on clothes it will be perfect!
I sprayed "MJ-L" on my forearms (One spray each) and I'm wearing a leather vest today and the leather note in this frag matches up perfectly with this vest. I started out the day wearing "Dior Homme Intense" but that frag literally got eaten up my the more powerful scent of my leather vest. The "MJ-L" seems to be keeping pace with it and isn't being overpowered by it...but actually nicely accenting the fragrance of the old leather vest!! Completely (happily) blown away by this!
I may wear this later with my "Dior Homme-Original" and my leather vest when I go out...just to see how it does outside...

EDIT: Layers P-E-R-F-E-C-T-L-Y with "Dior Homme-Original" and "Dior Homme Intense"!!!

Edit: Just saw the note on Maceration below...guess this one goes into the closet for a few months and then I'll report back. I'm excited to see what this turns up in the spring after winter! Thanks all!

DLF

I was expecting a stronger scent from all the positive reviews. It’s my first day, and I really don’t smell it. I ended up layering it with Obsession. Will give it another go tomorrow on it’s own.

Not as strong as others in my collection, but I like it.

Dzarsos

I want to echo ramachengray re: maceration being a real thing... I've gotten two bottles in the last year that came out smelling like vodka and sawdust (D&G The One Grey and Bentley for Men Absolute), only to revisit them a month-or-two on and find them to be some of my favourite scents. Big designer brands ought to have fully mascerated their fragrances before shipping, but this is becoming more and more common as the fraghead community grows. Yay, supply-side economics.

Also, since I'm here anyway, I will say that this scent is a delight, and it layers amazingly well with Trussardi Riflesso and/or the Boss Bottled family. Apple pie and coffee. Mmm.

raymachengray

I’m quickly realizing the importance of letting fragrances macerate.

This fragrance was a stomach-turner for me when I first purchased it. It just fell apart, smelling like old maple syrup and some heavy, metallic sweetness that overpowered the rest of the fragrance. I didn’t understand all the hype, because to my nose, the fragrance smelled like it hadn’t been blended well…definitely not the high quality it had been touted to possess.

Fast forward 6 months of sitting in a dark closet, this is an ENTIRELY different fragrance! Each of the notes seemed to have effortlessly blended together into a velvety scent experience. Smooth, sensual, alluring, spicy and sweet. This is truly a gourmand, as the coffee, amber, anise, and patchouli meld together to recollect memories of freshly baked cake or waffles, almost buttery, with a rich, burnt-sugar sweetness, and a touch of smoke. The subtle, clean leather underneath brings to mind a chef, wearing a Skagen watch on his arm as he pulls his creation out of the oven.

Maceration is legit folks, and there are several more fragrances in my closet that can now attest to that. Patience is a virtue, and in this case, I’m glad I gave MJ an extra six months to show me what he’s got…

Because he’s pretty extraordinary

jeremy9213

What I really want is New Haarlem, but I believe I missed that train several years ago. I found this for 12$ and it’s actually great. I’ve gone through several other cheap fragrances before and this has to be the best smelling one under 20 bucks. It’s soft in a way that smells more expensive than it is. Longevity on me is a solid 6 hours. Projection is meh, but I can easily smell it the whole time. Loud fragrances aren’t really my style (despite owning a couple). I really don’t think you can go wrong for the price…dare I say it’s a slam dunk?

Dr Harder

I am usually not that negative or critical but this is a huge let down for me. Staying power is ok but its sillage is just not there. Its sticky and dense and last for 6-8 hours but projection is just horrible. Bought it for the same price as for any rasasi or armaf fragrance and I think I made big mistake. This is going directly to the back of my drawer and I will not even think about using it for the foreseeable future

Fragmeister

Used to have the buttplug (Rochas Man) back in the day and wanted to have a similar smell back in my collection. Picked this up at Burlington for $13 and it does the job! Sweet pleasant coffee cheapie.

Idontlikefrags91

I dont know what half these comments are talking about this smells horrible and has 0 performance it lasts about 30 mins projection is moderate and hardly any coffee just smells like a overly synthetic mess

echurch1979

Men, can you here me? This is what you wear when you want to find a woman fine enough to bring home to meet your family. This won't snag much trash out at the club; it's not gimmicky that way. It smells refined and smooth, like a gentleman that whispers to yell, walks with dignity, and understands the weight of respect. This scent turns the right heads with shoulders rolled back and an air of assured confidence. Legend is swoon worthy and ridiculously inexpensive! Who knew this was released in 1997? I am embarrassed not to have noticed it sooner! I've seen written that it is a dupe of a number of high-end perfumes for men, and I think people have gotten it all backwards. If anything, scents like Rochas, Bond No.9, and Givenchy are emulating this. After all, Legend was first on the shelf. Coffee, amber and anise comprise a major portion of the opening, yet when paired with lavender, exalt the intense leather flowing into the heart. As a blended entity, facets of creamy sandalwood intertwine with patchouli and musk, resonating a baritone that stands above brighter tones of patchouli and tea in the base. This is beautiful, sexy and mysterious, and to finish with a heavenly dry down, puts it over any mark later brands produced. This is definitely one I'm grateful I gave a chance!

Dr Harder

90% similar to Rochas man, remaining 10% are fruitty notes that are missing here. 6 sprays on my arm and 3 hours later it is still going strong. This is definitely a good choice for summer and spring evenings, I dont see it strong enough for fall or winter rather a good alternative to daily summer woody/citrus based fragrances. Overall 6/10

Ryanne4707

About a year ago, I watched a top 10 inexpensive clones video on YouTube. Legend was one of the fragrances, mentioned as a clone for spicebomb extreme. I took a mental note about it and stored it away, until today.
My wife and child were shopping at Burlington coat factory, and were looking through colognes when she said they had this and I was super quick to say buy it as I had remembered the video. For less than 13 bucks and being a jordan cologne, I wasnt expecting much. But I was pleasantly surprised. I get the spicebomb extreme comparison as I have it and I have cremo spiced black and vanilla I think is the name. And I have also heard the rohas man and bond #9 Harlem comparisons as well.
Its definitely similar to spicebomb extreme and cremo. Although the cramp smells very similar but with a super sharp note that legend doesnt have. And thats a good thing. It comes out of the bottle a little alcoholicy but 2p seconds later thats gone and your left with a wonderful sweet coffee, carmel, syrup, fragrance that lasts 4 to 6 hours on skin and the silage is 2 to 4 feet for about 2 hours then it dies down to below 2 feet. For 13 bucks this smells much more expensive than it is. Its hard to believe this has been around since 1997. I keep womdering how I missed it. Maybe its because ive never been big on athlete and sports car fragrances.
Its definitely a fall, winter and early spring fragrance, that I think is best suited for night time, particularly a low light intimate date night at your favorite resturaunt with a isolated booth way in the back. Your significant other will stick close by just to get whiffs of your cologne.
If you are looking for a fragrance below 15 bucks that smells like it could easily cost 100 plus, I suggest buying a bottle and never looking back!

mapache

Blind buy.
Good grief....lol.....This is my first time EVER smelling this scent.
It goes on...very "alcohol-y"....then the other notes begin to emerge. Coffee (ish)...citrus...lavender....anise....then the other notes follow in the dry down.
I am sure I have a "newer" formulation...so I don't know if the first versions were more or less the same....???....Ha !
IMO...this leans more Rochas Man than Bond9 New Haarlem...and I feel a vibe of Givenchy Pi...??....
This is truly a scent that smells more expensive than it is.
The performance seems to be pretty good too...so far.
I am enjoying this scent.

Another fantastic smell , but its a skin scent even if you spray 20 times :(
Had paid 18€ (13€ fragrance 5€ shipping) .

Imagine wearing a suit and it's 9am and your reading your paper smoking a vanilla cigar with a plate of pancakes with syrup in front of you. 😎

Criglett Clussnum

This is very sweet and gourmandish. This is a total pancake restaurant/ coffee shop type of fragrance. I get similarities to Ferragamo Uomo and Playboy VIP. For me this is one of the better Jordan fragrances along with the original and 23. I slept on this one for a long time and now I wish I would have tried it sooner. This is a very good sweet fragrance for males!

Boneil708

One of the best cheapies out there. It smells like breakfast I guess it's like syrupy coffee a dash of vanilla good start of the morning scent

Loyal Lavender Wearer:

For some time I have been seeking a fragrance with a right kind of sweet and MUCH MUCH LAVENDER.
The smell brings comfort; projection is average; there is uniformity with the spray and the dry down.
Bergamot at initial spray for freshness.

The rich coffee blended with the sweet amber and anise. The leather and musk gently caresses the nose. Faint woodiness; NOT OVERPOWERING.

Not for your high powered alpha male/lumberjack but I shall say that this fragrance is romantic. It is because the amber brings such a familiar tone for the non-wearers; at $16 on eBay (03/2021/) it shall remain a staple in my wardrobe.

Soft, sweet, calming and subtle.
I am reassured when the same composition was used for Bonds New Haarlem as I am a female wearer.

At first spray, it is too masculine, like a fresh men`s cologne, and I thought I`ve made a blind-buy mistake. But noo. With the dry down it gets sweeter and very shareable. It`s not a candy sweet, it is almost a caramel. Maybe a pancake? It is not a projection monster, so it is safe for work. And it lasts! I was aiming for the Rochas, but after reading about the poor performance, I choose MJ Legend. No regrets.

shayz

how the hell people gets poor performance on this one
on my skin it is very strong and last for a good 10 hours
for me it is better then Roches man by far
coffee vanilla and Michel Jordan bottle dosing for such a low price
can find better

I reviewed previously but Kyle is right. CH Men Prive has a similar smell to Legend, though Prive goes into more a boozy sweet leather rather than Legend being a gourmand oriental. The dry-down which today i do smell more leather, is where this comparison is really noticed. Good catch kyle.

Michael Jordan Legend Men Cologne opens with a moderate projection of very sweet, coffee, amber, and spicy notes. The opening is bold, delectable, projecting, and very pleasant. The coffee is a prominent note, evocative of black coffee; the amber is also noticeable, a very sweet and resinous note. The fragrance is very sweet, the sweetness in this fragrance is similar to the sweetness of tonka bean, but this one is not an officially note. It takes a brief moment, but the leather comes up as a note and projecting accord; similarly, the anise becomes noticeable, but not as strong as the opening notes. The rest of the notes are there to support, some woody, light floral, a bit of green, and mossy touches. The fragrance has one small noticeable opening to dry-down change, the opening favors the coffee and amber, the leather takes a brief moment to come up; also, the amber further develops intensifying as a note. Once Michael Jordan Legend Men Cologne has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, very sweet resinous (amber), coffee, and leather fragrance with woody, and spicy accords. The fragrance feels bold, casual, comforting, delectable, dense, dry, fragrant, gourmand, leathery, masculine, modern, resinous, relaxing, romantic, sweet, syrupy, warm, woody, and very pleasant.

The GOAT. Not the fragrance itself (even though it’s slept on), but having around 500 Jordan basketball cards, posters and jerseys, shoes and magazines, and only one fragrance makes me feel like a shell of a fan. Sorry your Air-ness.. I’ll get around to getting your others eventually.

Yes this is a very nice fragrance imo. It’s like Givenchy Pi.. CK One Shock.. Perry Ellis M.. Rochas Man.. all rolled into one minus most of the powder with added freshness. I actually think Legend is a better all around choice than all of those (more crowd pleasing and light) although Shock is a cold weather staple for me and Rochas is one of my all time favorites. The dry down loses it’s freshness (surprise surprise) and finishes with a semi gourmand spicy vanilla aroma that still isn’t too powdery for me.

It does have a soda pop/Dr. Pepper feel; spices not too spicy. It’s blended very well, although I wish it had better longevity for being a gourmandish cooler weather scent. It could also be a cool spring/late summer evening juice since it is fresher than most I’ve smelled with similar DNA. For a fraction of the cost of others like it I am more than happy I finally pulled the trigger on Legend.

This really is a hidden gem, and if you were like me thinking Jordan cologne... Eh maybe next time, grab it if you can find it for under $20. I might buy a 2nd one and leave it unopened as this will definitely be a Jordan collector’s treasure many years from now. As for the opened bottle I’ll be wearing it proudly like MJ was when wearing half of his older brother’s number (45). Overall.. great juice.

This is one of the first fragrances I ever bought as a teenager (that price tag!). IMO, this is a great introduction to gourmand-style fragrances.

It's a sweet, chocolatey, syrupy, vanilla base heavy scent. It is not terribly rich, there are notes in here freshening it up. The performance is decent, for the price it is hard to fault it.

Overall I think it is a great cold-weather scent for new fragrance lovers.

masonjarjar1969

I enjoy wearing this and I never thought I'd like gourmands. But this has something interesting going on down beneath, a sort of classy amber musk thing on top of which floats the sweet stuff. No it's not straight up maple syrup, but it is sweet. However, for the life of me, I can't stand the bottle and it will probably remain hidden under the sink alongside the extra bottles of Skin Bracer and Avon Spicy..

mmagic_conch

I got this hoping it would basically be like Playboy VIP but last longer. Unfortunately this is just more masculine enough that I don’t know if I can wear it as a female. Maybe very light with a lot more of something sweet to feminize it. Smells delicious though, I might try to get my husband to try it. I like smelling musky/masculine but my husband isn’t a huge fan so this won’t work for me unfortunately. Also it’s most sweet in the opening, and dries down to more spicy, where VIP seems to be the same sweetness all the way through.

Got my husband to wear it and kept catching Whiffs of cinnamon rolls. Definitely for winter

jjameson62

Good fragrance FOR THE MONEY. Funny enough it smells like dr pepper and cinnamon. Sadly it only lasts around an hour with 3 sprays i’d recommend it to people who needs a cheap cologne that smells amazing and doesn’t mind reapplying often.

Spinning@backick

If you already familiar with Polo red extreme, this one more tame and easy going version of PRE. If you find PRE was to heavy for daily or casual use, this might be perfect for you.

Pair it with t-shirt and jeans, you're good to go and never worry about people getting offended by your frag, even better others might give you compliments.

Sure it is not super smooth or niche quality fragrance, but please keep in mind that within this price range you might have difficulties finding other fragrance that as nice as this one.

But, i had only one complaint, the sprayer.. it looks cheap, feels cheap, and not functioning properly. Looks like it will break in no time.

ninaxoxo

A sweet and spicy (not overwhelmingly) gourmand. I get the amber with a touch of leather more than the coffee...but really delicious either way.

Bought for $13 on ebay and my bottle says EDT. Buying a backup bottle immediately!

Love!

and_then_some_7

I just spent a few days testing Rochas Man, Michael Jordan Legend, and Playboy VIP. They're all sort of similar (at least according to the "This perfume reminds me of" section).

Please be aware that Michael Jordan Legend is an EDC, which is weaker than an EDT, which is weaker than an EDP. That being said, I knew going into this that Legend wouldn't last very long at all. It doesn't smell all that great either. It does smell VERY similar to Rochas Man (which I didn't like AT ALL, check my review). I'd say Legend is a little more tolerable and surprisingly stronger and longer lasting BUT NOT BY MUCH. Don't waste your money on either colognes. There are way better options out there (see below).

Oh and BTW, Playboy VIP smells BETTER and has BETTER PERFORMANCE (longevity and sillage) than those other two! Cheaper too.

Nataliemarie

Yep! New Haarlem :D I also get GREAT longevity from this. It doesn't have that ONE sharp note NH throws out in the initial blast, which, I am glad. This is a Smooooth Operator. I wonder if B9 DID copy this, & *word* got out, so NH just was. not. selling. I doubt it, there's die hard fans out there, I love them too, they are just WAY overpriced. Just buy this, man or woman. Very sensual.

Tigidy101

I'm a hot body. For perspective, I keep my heat on 58 degrees in the winter. I've noticed fragrances sometimes react and smell very differently on me than general consensus.

With those conditions, this gives off a huge cloud of Amber on me. Honestly, that's all I get. No coffee at all on me. Kinda crazy considering other reviews. I put it on when it was 60 degrees and it smelled pretty good (I like Amber and love it's cousins vanilla and Tonka) but was a rather cloying cloud. Too much. I think it needs to be colder for me to wear this. So a winter fragrance.

It does indeed smell good but because all I get is Amber it's kind of boring to me. It does last a good time and that cloud I mentioned does mean pretty good strength on me.

josau vipre 94

Amazing gourmand, definitely underpriced. I compare this one to the sweetness of red polo extreme. I can smell hints of leather but amber takes centre stage. If you love gourmand don't hesitate like I did. You can dress this one up casual or semi-formal. During the winter, my fav fragrance for formal wear is still spicebomb extreme.

Forever Neil

This is Rochas Man, as well as New Haarlem. This does not smell synthetic in the least, but the bottle is ugly. I can 95% guarantee that New Haarlem cloned this. Great fragrance, horrible bottle. It just makes me upset that Bond #9 cloned this, and packaged it in a better bottle. We're suckers for packaging. I'm guilty as well. I am sad to say that this fragrance even smells better than New Haarlem. It just doesn't have the projection as new Haarlem, as this is only an EDC. Rochas Man and New Haarlem gets the same 3 star rating. ⭐⭐⭐

BigTree

60-70% CK One Shock without the Red Bull opening, 30-40% Aventus + coffee. I only get the Aventus vibe when I'm really close, and every other sniff, it's wild. Powdery.

matiasmakesbeat

This smells like some half medicine half dr pepper. It's a bit harsh and off putting on first spray but smells more smooth in the dry down. I probably won't be buying a full bottle. Try before you buy with this one, for sure.

MoreScentsThanDollars

This is a great, affordable fragrance I love. As a female, This is a sent I love to smell on men.
It reminds me very much of Bond No9 New Harlem, maybe not as long lasting but for the price, Just respray.

It's a sweet coffee smell that is blended in a way to keep the 'traditional' ol'school man scent thing going on, So it's not to gourmand.

Sometimes it reminds me of a coffee version of Aventus, Don't ask me what batch thou, lol, If you took out the pineapple and add coffee, it's like that.

I've gone through nearly a whole bottle of this fragrance and would repurchase if I can find at a good price again.
I don't always use it on my skin, Sometimes I spray it on my bedding and pillow so while Im sleeping I feel like I'm in bed with Michael Jordan ;) lol

I noticed its gone up in price now, When I bought my first bottle aproxamatly five years ago, it was only $13. I wish I'd bought two that day.

Highly recommend especially if you're on a budget and want to smell rich. $

bigtide12

Blind buy and I am very pleased. Perfect cool/cold weather fragrance. 8.5/10

Naomi-G

Exactly like Rochas man omgggg !!! Finally found a perfect match to one of my favourite fragrance with way better longevity and sillage!

richmilton

A few years ago I made this my signature scent for Halloween. Today is Halloween and I'm wearing this sweet gourmand and it's bringing back memories of the last few previous Halloweens. I know it's kinda crazy to have a signature scent for Halloween. But I say why the hell not! As kids Halloween was very special. Now as an adult I look forward to it again because of the joy it is to wear Legend. Yes I'm a Legend in my own right.

I don't need to get into the notes because it's been covered very well here by those with a better nose than I have. However, I will say Legend is sweet and according to my lovely wife it's almost lickable with a very nice Cappuccino vibe.

To me, Legend is the adult version of Halloween. In other words, we too can enjoy the scent of a Halloween night. With all the crappy cheapies out there this is a fricken bargain. Quality scent for pennies on the dollar. Put this delicious creamy Gourmand in a Dior bottle and it'd be soughafter like a deer buck chasing doe's in heat.

hewpo

There are some similarities with Zara Gourmand Leather. This is waaay better. Totally unisex.

Dt0wn

A great Bond No. 9 New Haarlem substitute! No brainer blind buy.

CMTHUNDERS

first off, this smells NOTHING like playboy vip! to me, it has an unpleasant old man vibe to it. like its a old man type of floral. i don’t really like it

Snake-8-7

For the price you would expect a cheap, sharp, synthetic smell but I don get that, I get a nice, smooth, creamy smell, The performance It's really good, 3 to 4 sprays give me 8 to 10 hours in winter (I find this one really enjoyable in this season), The projection It's strong in the beginning, after 2 hours it turns in to a bubble around me, With good sillage (it will leave a pleasant trail behind you).

Judging by the smell and performance of this fragrance, the price should be in between 30-50 USD, but you can get it for 15 to 20 US Dollars... That's just crazy, This is a good, solid fragrance.

MichelVaillant

I love how MJ Legend combines fresh and gourmand elements so seamlessly. Great smell, and great value considering the price. Performance may be a little towards the lower end, and you may need to spray a lot, but once again, given the price, MJ Legend is still a good deal.

Mike Bromeo

Ok kids, listen up!
MJL is AWESOME considering the price. Ive received many compliments with this juice. This is like the 'Warm Sugar' body spray that the chicks wear, except this smells Warm, Sugery, with a little coffee and leather lingering in the background to keep this bad boy sweet and alluring. Love this stuff specially since its so cheap, just keep it in the rotation and it will last you years, unless your a meathead who bathes in frags. No huff and fluff, Just Facts Bro!

Stardew77

This is a very light, warm, inviting scent.
It smells very close to Axe Dark Temptation, but not as strong.
Still on the search for the perfect coffee scent, but I will definitely use this.

happy-knight

I got this along with New Haarlem, I tried NH first, and now I'm trying this.

I probably won't really go into a massive amount of detail but this was a pleasant surprise to me.

Basically imagine the maple syrupy sweetness taking a backseat for the lavender powdery notes.

It doesn't smell cheap whatsoever and it does have a bit of a syrupy tone for sure but it doesn't choke you with it.

Do I prefer this over NH? Not if I want to smell gourmand, no. But for more casual use this is a much better option as it's not only cheaper but less heavy.

Sillage/longevity is good.

If you want to smell like breakfast consisting of hot cakes and coffee, get bond 9 NH, if you want to smell a bit like hot cake syrup but with something more fresh, Micheal Jordan's Legend is one to pick up for sure.

omkh24

I have purchased this perfume from FragranceX 0.5 oz. It opens with stron smell just like usual perfume there is nothing special.

spompey

I neglected this scent for a long while thinking “How good can a Michael Jordan fragrance be”? Well... I broke down and purchased this the other day, and man was I wrong! I’m actually a bit angry with myself for avoiding this. It is very impressive. Smells a little leathery with a little coffee & cream. Most definitely worth the small price tag. If I could change one thing, it would be the longevity. Not very long and holds real close to the skin. If this were an EDP, it would be flawless.

Yup$ki

After trying Rochas and Givenchy Play Intense; the other two gourmands this is most often likened to, i must say..i dig Rochas and GPI but CANNOT come to liking this. It comes off way too sickly sweet. You always pay for what you get and i was again reminded that lesson when buying this. Glad it was only around 20 bucks. However, the original MJ and Legend 23 are definitely blind buy worthy. This and other decent cheap shit can be a sneezer though:/

FlirtBoy

This cologne smells very close to Rochas for Man (I own them both) and I have no problem with longevity/projection - it lasts some 8-10 hours on me and projects well. Definitely thumbs up!

threefourfive

Smells sweet with a slightly fresh powdery scent. Clean and masculine, can't wait to wear it more when the weather gets colder! I think it's gonna get lots of compliments!

JAYMZDEEN

Smells good. All of these people taking things to the extreme are ridiculous! It cost 12 bucks what do you expect??!! It smells delicious ! It's not nearly as cheap smelling as some of these guys are spouting off about. Longevity not great. Sillage not great. But it is a beautiful scent that will get you compliments when freshly sprayed. I'd definitely say get Rochas Man unless u just want to add this to your collection.

EnoughScents

If you are a fan of Axe Dark Temptation, then try this one. As an EDC, performance is low as others have written, but still better than the Axe body spray. To me, worth the $10 try for a 3.4 oz bottle.

mkpunk

Before I get into my review of Michael Jordan Legend, let me start off with this in reply to another reviewer... I find that most gourmands smell alike. And most smell vanilla, even if they don't. The only ones that don't are Rocawear Evolution, Paco Rabanne 1 Million Privé and Ralph Lauren Polo Red, but two of those are balsamic ones and two have coffee as a prominent note.

Anyway that's enough, let's review Jordan.

Michael Jordan Legend is one of the first gourmands and one of the earlier from the Michael Jordan line, Legend came right on the heels of A*Men and Animale Animale for Men. It is similar to like most of the gourmands I have used and own but different at the same time. The three things I think of with this scent are sryup, french vanilla cappuccino and 1 Million. Legend is basically maple syrup in a fragrance bottle and I think that is from anise. When the syrup dies down you get coffee nearly French vanilla cappuccino. For some reason while there is no vanilla note, and I think it maybe the cappuccino like coffee scent this plays on my skin, it smells vanilly. Finally for some strange reason, I feel that as it dries down, it goes into a 1 Million like base due to the leather and tonka which are two notes common in the different 1 Million flankers as well as its length of projection.

Now I also want to say that unlike Michael Jordan's self-titled cologne and another reviewer’s nose, I don't smell (rubbing) alcohol in this scent. Alcohol over-powers Jordan's Michael Jordan. This I don't get the alcohol note at any point during this scent. Maybe it is the way it smells on their skin. Michael Jordan 23 also isn't alcoholic so I guess it isn't a trait of the house like some may think. This is another scent that makes this a pretty good celebrity house option.

I find that Legend projects for about three hours. I did one spray on each wrist, one on each side of my neck which is my usual (unless I know a scent is super strong) and it projects to my nose right now, nearly three hours in. I find that the moderate projection lasts for one and a half hours. The scent becomes a skin scent after three and a half, four hours and lasts another three to four hours easy as a skin scent.

Where to use Legend is where it takes a hit. It’s a good fall/winter scent for day and night as well as spring at night. That said, it isn’t overly sexy like say Playboy VIP for Men or 1 Million Prive (semi-similar scents) so I wouldn’t use it for close encounters like clubbing or dates (well unless you know your date loves cappuccino). That said, it is worth use for relaxing, work and formal occasions, despite the pricing. It is the first of the Jordan scents I've owned that is not sporty and I'm fine with that.

I feel that Michael Jordan Legend is awesome. It spurred at least three scents to all but copy its notes and also has some similarities to VIP for Men by Playboy, though I feel that can stand on its own. For this reason, I give Legend an 8.1, putting it in my top 4 gourmands behind B&BW Mahogany Woods, A*Men and Ralph Lauren Polo Red and my number 1 Michael Jordan scents. For its price and for its copycats, look no further for a great dumbgrab gourmand.

Pepelevua

smell like a cheap gourmand, which is what it is, but after getting a better sense for what makes a good fragrance you will find it not so special, good first cheap gourmand tho.

socorrosouza

The fragrance may be awful on Your Skin on Your Nose, but on others (and, by the opinion there are many) it may be exquisite. Perfumes are not an exact science, they vary so much from person to person.

UnearthlyApothecary

I bought this because I had a small decant of Bond no 9 New Haarlem that I fell in love with. Since, NH is quite expensive I heard this was very similar and decided to buy it as this one is definitely within my price range. Interestingly enough, this cologne was created first so NH would technically be the dupe of this. It smells so much alike I can barely tell the difference. Not at all cheap or super synthetic, the silage and longevity is about the same ( not the best but not the worst) I probably won't end up getting the bond no 9, maybe if the scent had better longevity or something but no so I think I'll just stick with the original ;)

Chioutzu

If RM was expensive i could understand this one but nah

Bottle and branding wise i would definitely go with this one

6opar

A sweet start the citrus cannot control that gives us a big heads up of things to come. Legend is Sweet.
For a few minutes after the initial blast lavender took central stage, it was dry but with a warm candy aftertaste, and actually i really liked that part.
It did last, but then some cheap musk and amber started to take over. Vanilla is not listed but this is what the whole combination smells like, i love the smell of vanilla, but here it is cheap and restrained. This is to be expected of course, though there are cheap fragrances that i actually wear (Blue Sugar, Taxi, Brut, Caractere) and like. This one I don't. When in the mood for the sweet kind of stuff i always have my Rochas Man, A*Men, π, Gaultier 2, Blue Sugar, Ultra Male.... to greet me smilingly and welcomingly.
A nice try, sweet, but simple and flat,
**(***)

LayneDad

Another blind-buy, as most of my perfumes these days. Bottle is really heavy but the cap is a cheap plastic. Scent is sweet, cloyingly sweet, longevity is much better than Gaultier 2, since I sprayed them both on my arms separately in this 10-degree winter temp. Gaultier 2 has faded after 2 hours, this one still goes on. Initial spray didn't quite smell like Rochas Man (my signature scent), but I could tell the drydown is, a faint similarity. Unlike RM where top, middle and base smell stays quite the same, this one only smells better on drydown, a cheap imitation of RM. For casual wear and if you're looking for a synthetic but inexpensive imitation of RM, this is it.

polly golightly

braegann

This is a cheap, cologne. Not inexpensive, but cheap. Anybody who has worn Bond no. 9 New Harlem or Rochas Man could tell that. Bond's new harlem comes off more syrupy and inviting. Rochas is a bit more marshmellow sweet. Both of them are better quality and last longer the MJL. I do like the scent, but it is a bit too aggressive for a weak projection and longevity fragrance. It comes off as very cheap. I get a lot of caramel in this, which I do not know if I like.

Nice fragrance. Unmistakeably gourmand. Smells like Playboy VIP, although less Playboy-ish (you would know what I mean if you've tried a few Playboys, they have a kind of youthful tang to them). Doesn't smell like coffee, although it does capture the mood of coffee somewhat: strolling through a street lined of cafes and pastry stores.

At the same time, it knows it's a perfume and not a bottle of pancake syrup. It has a sexiness that you expect of a fragrance, and which you wouldn't expect from a food.

Performance beast. I find it annoying in fact, how long it lasts. And can smell it on my self easily, for hours.

I like it for a Saturday morning. Would be too sweet and gourmandy for me to use more regularly than that. But good for what it is.

Tested on: paper strip.

Impression: popcorn, buttery, creamy.

Goes into my wishlist.
More in depth review after purchase.

This is my second best winter fragrance behind F by Ferragamo Black. Nowhere near as reined as New Haarlem, but still a great coffee, syrupy smell to it that garners massive amounts of compliments. Amazing fragrance for the fact that you can purchase a 3.4 oz bottle for about $17. In terms of the best quality cheapies, this tops the list along with Nautica Voyage. This one lasts about 6-7 hours on my skin and will project for about 2 hours. After those 2 hours, it will continue to smell beautifully with that coffee carrying throughout the fragrance and a cedar, musky base. Seasons to wear this will definitely be Fall and winter. A must buy!

Harganya sekitar 550ribu.

Dirt Dog

Michael Jordan Legend is a Mcdonalds pancake breakfast. As others have mentioned it is syrupy and sweet and the sweet notes overpower the scent. Still, it has lavender and bergamot in it and it is lighter than some of the other sweet winter gourmand powerhouses that one could buy and wear.

One of the interesting things about Legend is that it is manufactured by the 5 star fragrance company. This company has manufactured several of my all time favorite fragrances like Ulysse and Sirene and I almost always that their products far outperform their price tag.

I get an easy 6 hours out of Legend though it starts to fall off sharply after 6 and enter skin scent realm, where it holds on but dies at 8 unless I go heavy on the trigger. I enjoy the mid better than the opening and drydown and it has a bit of a bell curve scent profile with me enjoying the heart from the 2-5 hour mark better than the front and back end of the scent life.

As far as usage goes, It was probably my most used scent the last 2 winters. I probably hit the trigger a couple of extra sprays during winter as its clearly a tick lighter than some of the powerhouse winter fragrances I could use. I imagine that a person could pull back on the trigger and wear it spring and fall though I put it away and do not. And the right person could probably pull it off in summer though I have other summer scents that I personally like a lot better. This has a lot more John Stockton than Michael Jordan in it. Stockton played about 500 more minutes in his career than did Jordan and hit a far higher field goal percentage. But he did it with less flash and glamour. And of course he had a lot more assists and helped his team in other ways than being a black hole of taking shots every time he touched the ball. Jordan Legend is kind of a solid scent in a non flashy manner. I have purchased 2 backup bottles of this fragrance for under $10 each and I doubt that I would purchase more. When I pull this one, I usually wear this in the morning and afternoon and end my day with something different. I have never received a compliment or a complaint and it seems to do its job and go away when I want it to leave and hit the bench.

Overall, I am going to grade this out at 88 or B+. Its clearly above average yet doesn't achieve special status worthy of an A grade. Like all 5 star fragrances that I've yet smelled, it smells better than its price grade and is often compared to true Legends in the fragrance game like New Haarlem and Rochas Man. It performs well. Its easy to find and buy. And its honestly hard to find a reason to call a foul.

At the start, I compared this one to a McDonalds pancake breakfast. And McDonalds makes a fine product which was so good that people clamored for them to serve it all day long and now they do. This is a $5 an ounce fragrance and it does its job, is completely likeable and sticks to your ribs a bit. 15 minutes after you put it on you are full and good to go until lunch or even dinner.

Michael Jordan Legend is not the flashiest of scents or even as exciting as its namesake. But I cannot think of a single occasion, time of use, event, or occasion where one could wear this and feel that it was out of place or wrong.

Michael Jordan Legend is a very good fragrance for when you want to start your day off right and break your fast with a bit of sweet goodness.

First dab sampling: This reminds me of something I sampled around 2008, but I can't seem to place it, perhaps BalMan or Casran (I had a sample of that at the time). Anyway, it's got strong lavender that is tightly blended into what is like one big accord. It's soft and a bit sweet, but not syrupy, powdery, or blob-like. Don't expect strong and distinct notes of coffee, leather, cedar, or tea. The "quality" seems surprisingly high, and it can be unisex for women who like lavender, just give it a while to come together.

UPDATE: Regular wearing. I get mostly the vanillic and lavender elements in the drydown. It's "nice" but I already have scents like this, and it's kind of old (British Sterling/Canoe-ish). Not enough coffee or leather for my preferences. I think King of The Game by Playboy is more interesting and the coffee note is more obvious (and I don't like lavender notes when they are this strong). I'd say it's a good "starter" scent for someone who is looking for something just a touch different, but again, by now this is probably regarded as "old"-smelling by the youngsters. I obtained a partial bottle in a swap so I can try this again, but I'm not sure I'll ever be in the mood for, so I'll likely put it up as part of a lot sale on ebay at some point, or swap it off.

Identical with AXE/LYNX TEMPTATION Sweet heavy chocolate coffee vanilla ...

This fragrance is like a coffee/bake shop in a bottle. Imagine freshly cooked pancakes smothered with maple syrup with a hot cup of coffee on the side. Definitely a gourmand. I think this scent is perfect for those colder "Netflix and Chill" days.

I just blind bought this scent, haven't smelt it so far.
Some people mind the bottle, I don't, it's not made of plastic or something, sprayer is fine too.

As far as the scent goes, I am coffee lover - I like strong, plain, black coffee. And I don't smell coffee at all.

I've wore it for 1hr now, its pretty linear so far. The first few minutes can be bit overwhelming until alcohol evaporates.

I don't have anything similar to this.
To me, this doesn't smell like coffee unless you you really go wild with imagination and mby biased with listed notes.
I am a guy and I would say this can easily be unisex scent(which I dont necessarily mind). It has that powdery, old lady's parfume smell. I even think this reminds me of women's famous chanel no.5 ...powdery, floral, musky.

I'm in EU, so I can't rly say this smells like pancakes with syrup, as we don't eat that here. I would say YES, it's sweet, but floral, spicy...not like food sweet.
I have sweet tooth, I love coffee...but I don't get any of those in this scent. Lets say if someone gave me food that smells like this, I wouldn't eat it, because this is more of a classical powdery parfume smell.

If you want cheapie that smells somewhat classy, powdery, sweet, florally go with this.
I think it's a crowd pleaser, most people will like it, some will love it. Don't expect smelling coffee and cookies, because it's just not it.
My final verdict: I didn't regret blind buy (not taking the low price into account)

TyrantRealm

First off, I haven't smelled any of the frags this is compared to so I am coming in on this based entirely on itself.

Smell: As far as smell goes, the Pancake Syrup comparison is pretty spot on to me, with one exception it has more spice to it. Picture syrup on a cinnamon and nutmeg infused pancake. As for the notes themselves it’s really hard to pick out one specific note from start to finish, it smells uniquely of itself which I consider to be a good thing.

Projection/Longevity: The projection and longevity are a little bit puzzling as some days it lasts forever and somedays it’s gone quite quickly. I attribute this much in part to the sprayer which I will cover in my bottle review. I tend to use more of this than I would like (5-6 sprays) which seems to be the sweet spot for a moderate projection and enough lasting power to hit 8hrs.

Bottle: One look at the bottle and you will sort of get a gripe about it. I have nothing against Mr. Jordan, but I think putting his silhouette on the bottle takes away from the perception of quality. The bottle shape does bring it back a bit with the nice clean square look of the bottle is quite satisfying to see. However, though the bottle appearance is meaningless, the sprayer is very inconsistent. Some sprays are a full mist as they should be, some squirt, some throws out droplets. On top of this, the sprays are about 1/3 to 1/2 sprays compared to all of the other scents I own.

Conclusion: Though the bottle does detract a bit from Legend, everything else is excellent. The smell, though compared to several things is excellent and in the price range of $15-20 retail. It lasts for a long time 8+hrs with moderate projection after you get a good reading on the sprayer. It’s really warm, inoffensive, and did I mention you can get it at K-Mart for $16.99?

Final Verdict for me is if you don’t have/want to spend the money for the pricier comparisons, you need this, taking price into account 10/10 for smell, 8/10 for longevity and projection, and about a 3/10 for bottle/sprayer design.

Edit: After a few more weeks I have to admit longevity isn't as good as my initial thoughts, or at least in cold weather (40-55F). I actually think this is a coolish night gorumand (mid 60s to high 70s) instead of being for cold weather. Downgraded to moderate.

EDIT

Longevity : 8 hours on my skin ! damn, is this a real "cologne"? cause it seems like it is not. if so, then it's an A++++ !

received mine today.

and i'm glad for this blind buy :D

Sweet? yes. Warm? Absolutely. Lovable? indeed. make someone want to hug you? i think so.

i think its better worn on the colder days. its a pretty damn good for a cologne ! don't let that "cologne" tag fools you ! this thing projects, and it might be lasts for sometime on my skin i guess (will review the longevity later)

opens up with nice sweet-spicy vibe. when the Anise shows up, it creates a perfect warm vibe together with coffee and amber. i do agree, it reminds me of A*Men, even though it's not as sweet as it is. this one is a keeper ! gonna buy another bottle as a backup :D

Overall :

Scent : 9 out of 10 ! well done MJ !
Longevity : will update this later.
Projection : Moderate
Try / buy /pass : definitely a BUY !

I was once very interested in smelling this fragrance, but kinda forgot about it when I got New Haarlem. I kinda figured this scent couldn't be as good, call it niche snobbery that's fine. And well, do I like this as much as New Haarlem? No. This just doesn't blend as nice and doesn't have the silage.
But, hey. This is still pretty good! Great amber-y coffee scent with a nice fresh lavender. Very warm and cosy, less heavy than new haarlem if you found that too strong. I consider anything less than $20 that can remind me of a scent that costs over $100 remarkable. Great job michael jordan, this is a fantastic affordable scent.

landshark321

Michael Jordan Legend is definitely the most hyped fragrance of the MJ line, and particularly for the price, it lives up the hype wholly as an enjoyable gourmand. While not nearly as refined as the likes of Bond No. 9 New Haarlem or I Love NY For All, Legend nonetheless hits on most of the fun marks of sweet gourmands---cocoa, coffee, syrup, etc. In that respect, though, I cannot detect many specific notes but rather just a sweet, bakery/coffeehouse congestion of some of the abovementioned concepts. It's unoffensive, though, at least in my opinion. Not surprisingly, longevity is lacking, but projection is actually decent (maybe a few feet).

I obtained a 15 ml sample as part of a 4-pack with other MJs (MJ, Flight, Flight Sport) and this is far and away the best. Available for about $15 for 100ml on FragranceNet, it's difficult to beat as a cheap cold weather option, assuming you prefer gourmands as much as I do. Definitely a must-try for gourmand lovers.

Smelling this cologne reminds me of eating an entire cupcake with frosting. I want to gag immediately from the sweetness.

Diabetes in a bottle.

I am glad I stayed open minded and bought this fragrance because for the sales tax amount on number 9 - new Harlem is the same as a full bottle of this. I have sample many niche fragrances and to be honest, this surprises me ......what a wonderful scent . I chose over new Harlem since the longevity and silage are great and I can't detect any synthenticness to it.... This is a gem

MrBumblepants

This is a very nice scent. Very syrupy and sweet. I liked it but it wasn't very long lasting on my skin. I couldn't smell it after an hour. But for the price it's worth trying I think. I decided to sell my bottle because of the longevity issue and because I had other similar gourmand fragrances at the time.

RoyalPerez516

Not bad, not bad at all! I got this today while the wife and I were out shopping and I must say, the (well deserved) hype on this one is real! It is a very soft, vanilla-ish/slight coffee/semi-gourmand scent.

I hear all sorts of comparisons to New H Bond and Rochas, I believe this one is well worth purchasing for any frag head out there.

You simply cannot beat smelling good, almost edible for 16 dollars! The first thing my wife said when I put it on was "wow, that's that 16 dollar cologne I smell? I thought it was going to smell cheap but it smells fantastic!" her very words :)

8.5/10 terrific value and great scent overall!

DraculaTheGreat

I think the dry down is reminiscent of Givenchy Pi

deathpill

This one feels like a cross between Rochas Man and Lolita Lempika Au Masculin. Not as sweet or creamy as Rochas, a bit spicy but not as spicy as Au Masculin. Its a good scent for the price (the other two are not that expensive too though), but not nearly as refined as either. Sits very close to the skin after the first hour or so, which makes it good for work. Rochas and Au Masculin are interesting and grab your attention when you get a whiff, this one somehow does not. At all! hmmm.

kaysee

It does indeed smell Like Rochas. It's not that strong on me, I feel like the longevity is good, around 8 hours but it becomes a skin scent pretty early.
And although I couldn't smell it after 1 hour I sprayed it on me, I still got a few compliments in work (that was around 2 hours after spraying it)

theChef

I must say, at first I was excited when I found this at a local discount store, because of the reviews I read here. I was almost embarrassed when I had to ask for someone to get it out of the case for me. But I'm very glad I went ahead with it. I won't repeat what most of these other reviews have to say, but I was very happy with what $12.99 got me. You can tell it's not the best ingredients used in this, but it still smells great. This is something I will definitely use on a more day to day basis, and save my Givenchy play intense for more special occasions. I can use this often and reapply whenever I feel necessary and not have to worry about the price. Definitely worth buying if you like what the notes and other reviews have to say.

Blackanime30

Best 12bucks I ever spent my main winter

That_John_Guy

Coffee, definitely a black coffee smell. Kind of reminds me of Kahlua a little, sort of coffee liqueur. The coffee is really the dominant note. There are some other notes in there, not just straight coffee, but mostly coffee. Could be good for hooking up at cafes, lol.

You almost certainly have smelled this before. Your first whiff of Legend will make you go, "Oh, this is what those guys were wearing." Certainly the affordability of it makes it prevalent. I got a 3.4oz bottle for $13.

Legend is one of the best "bang for your buck" frags out there, if not the best. It smells good and for $13 it smells really good. It might not be a $100+ scent, but I can see people easily believing it cost 2x, 3x, or more the price tag. If you are looking to build an affordable collection or even just someone who can afford more expensive stuff but aren't so stuffy you have to look down on something just because it is affordable, this is nice juice. A very affordable gourmand. Legend makes the list of a lot of youtube reviewer's list of best affordable frags and deservedly so.

I agree it lasts about 2 hours with decent projection, then sits pretty close to the skin, but you can still smell it over 4 hours, close to 6 hours later. That's solid performance for an affordable EDC, no doubt: as good or better than some more expensive EDTs.

I would be very wary about wearing this on a hot day or for sports. Yeah, ironically you shouldn't play basketball wearing Legend. In addition to recognizing this scent, I could also recognize when I've smelled it going wrong on some guys who piled it on in the heat. Yet, used properly, Legend is good stuff and one of the best deals out there.

damightyheru

Is it synthetic?
Yes...

Does it smell amazing?
Hell Yes...

Does it last?
Yes for about a good 6-8 hours depending on skin

Does it Project?
for 2 hours nice sillage...closer to the skin after that but still very present throughout the life of the scent.

Should you own this?
Bond No.9 and Rochas both ripped off a cheapie celeb frag and repackaged it New Harlem and Rochas Man. That's all you need to know about how this smells.

I am proud to have this regardless of price or authenticity of notes.

My relationship with MJ Legend is an unfortunate, sad tale of superficiality. It was an incredible scent! I am ashamed, but I cannot say I will ever truly regret parting from it. It will find someone who mends its broken heart, but that will not be me.

Every once in a while, you find a cologne with personality and finesse. Everybody's talking about it, and there's even rumors that it rather fancies you. Being the fragrance playboy that I am, I flirted with Legend, teasing it in my digital shopping cart and watching glowing video reviews. Perhaps I led Legend on quite a bit. Little did I know that it would become quite attached to me, calling me every night and texting me hearts and smilie faces. What a scoundrel I would be to play with its little heart and not give it a chance! And why shouldn't I? All the ingredients were there for desire- the rich coffee, the smooth amber, and the sexy leather. A regular gourmand, not to mention with superb projection! Everyone would notice Legend and I together, perhaps calling us an "item" and whispering what a cute pairing we were. But something just couldn't escape from the back of my mind, something that would never truly go away- that bottle. That price. How could a fragrance of high compliment and admiration come from such...unsophisticated background?! A celebrity fragrance? A cheesy silhouette box? Drug store availability? It haunted me...

I had courted a couple other gourmands before and had wild, unforgettable nights of pleasure. A*Men comes immediately to mind, being irrevocably naughty at first with its strong, overbearing come-on only to tantalize my animalistic, manly nature with its heavenly dry-down. A short relationship due to lack of versatility, but one that made me feel like a natural man. Safe to say, I somewhat knew what to expect from Legend (being categorized similarly). Gossip was already spreading of our potential (mostly due to Legend telling others of its feelings towards me, constantly showing up in the search history of various websites). Despite my dislike of its presentation in that tacky packaging, I was told the cliche that it is what's inside that matters and in retrospect, I must've done it to save face. I could have a fling. There was no commitment. I bought that $15 bottle.

And it happened. Legend came to my house, still in that horrid outfit. I cringed, yet gave Legend the respect it deserved. I actually checked the batch codes to ensure authenticity, something I usually reserve only for the most expensive designer colognes that actually would be pirated. Legend was clearly flattered. After unwrapping it, I was most displeased with its body. That dreadful packaging was not hiding a sensual swan underneath, I'll tell you that! I took some interest in the rubberized cap (an odd novelty) and found the frosted glass to be silly with that hilariously dorky silhouette of Michael Jordan. But my lustful tendencies took over, and our passion unfurled. Oh good lord that terrible sprayer! So cheap and requiring 2.5 sprays to equal just 1 for any other cologne! Legend, are you a virgin?!

After our encounter, of which I was most displeased, one thing stood out- Legend's personality. Inside that shell of cheapness was a beautiful being indeed. We took a long walk together in the cool, starry night, and Legend spoke to me with such refinement so rare in a cheap fragrance. Turns out we had so much in common! Our tastes crossed paths more than once- Legend showed intense sweetness and elegant sillage. And the compliments! We were a dynamic pair conversing on our love of lilac and coffee, our chitter chatter sparking admiration from others who eavesdropped. Legend lasted on me all day, and was far less overpowering than A*Men. It was so pleasurable to be around Legend! It would be asinine for any man to deny the beauty of this complex fragrance. But recall my dislike of the outwardly appearance. This is where my shame begins.

Whenever I smell a fragrance on myself, the bottle is always the first thing that appears in my mind. Most fragrance houses at least try to make their bottles physically attractive as to catch a man's primal instincts of desire. No matter how much anyone denies it, we all have a degree of superficiality. We all want a beautiful, voluptuous bottle to hold in our hands as we spray. This bottle did not even remotely try to appeal to the eyes. And I thought of it every single time I sniffed. I tried convincing myself that it was ridiculous to care so much about physical beauty, but I couldn't quite escape it. When I think of my fragrances, I want to see a gorgeous bottle in my mind. I couldn't escape the association. Our relationship was toast.

I sold my bottle of MJ Legend as a used item on ebay. Legend wouldn't speak to me again. We parted ways, perhaps with Legend shedding many tears from that terribly dribbly sprayer. It couldn't believe how unfair I was. We had everything going for us, and I broke our brief bond. Someone else happily took me up on my bottle and I barely recovered anything from my blind-buy. Sometimes I wonder about Legend, where it went, how it was being treated, and what people would say of it. Most importantly, I still wonder if I was wrong to be so superficial, and if I would ever grow out of my silly immaturity. But as it is now, I cannot pretend I have any regrets. I have moved on to other fragrances with superb presentation and personality. But I will never forget those moments we shared on that late night walk. There's no other that will ever be quite exactly like MJ Legend.

What a surprise MJ Legend turned out to be...

The opening is ridiculously sweet and feels like caramel/vanilla/candy. Once it settles, you'll mostly get the sweetness of the anise, amber, patchouli, and underlying bergamot and leather. The coffee note is slight, if it can be detected at all. The medley does give off a sweet cappuccino vibe, which is a little heavy but quite nice. Additionally, the sillage and longevity are better than average.

The more I wear it, the more I really find myself enjoying it. Legend is creamy, rich, and smooth, and is one of my girlfriend's favourites. I purchased my 100 mL from Ross for $12!

pravda48

Received this as a generous extra in a swap recently (thanks Tati! <3) as she knew that I was looking for a coffee scent.

Out of the bottle I was worried it was too masculine.

The opening:
A big herbal, warm aromatic lavender/amber, wasn't expecting that.

Early drydown:
Anise and amber's warm facets & a touch powdery sweetness (just a touch!) mix w/ the warm, herbal, licorice facets of lavender to create impression of coffee vs coffee itself. Very nice! I'm a big fan of lavender so this is really a fun scent for me. May be brave & try it in more than half a spray next time ;)

ssheth92

This one for me is just OK. it doesn't smell bad at all, but not great either - just really, overly sweet which seems kind of boring to me. I can see a girl liking this on a guy though for that very reason. Projection and longevity (on me) are average at best.

MJL is a great smelling cologne for less than $20. The initial spray gives you a heavy alcohol blast, but is quickly gone after a few seconds.

After that, you get a sweet syrup scent which pretty much stays linear throughout. I get more of a syrup scent than coffee scent. Dries down lovely.

I've gotten several compliments from this cologne.

As far as the comparisons to New Haarlem. I went to Saks 5th Ave with MJL already sprayed on my arm five minutes before I walked in. I sprayed NH on the other arm. IMO, once MJL and NH dry down, I can barely tell the difference.

A great cold weather scent as the cool weather will carry this scent into the air and people will definitely smell you when you walk by.

I usually go six sprays. 2 sprays to both sides of the neck and 2 sprays to the back of the neck.

Sometimes spray my undershirt and I can still smell it the next day.

I get 8+ hours longevity on my skin from MJL

Ryanmmas26

So far im really enjoying this scent and that says a lot because I generaly dont like gourmands to much.

With that said, its a lot fresher and lighter than most gourmands so if your sick of the freshies and/or want a good colder season scent this would be a great starter ! And for the price you cant beat it :)

Now as far as the comparison to New Haarlem and Rochas Man. This to me is the scent thats right between the 2. It smells more like Rochas man though but without all the lavender in there making Rochas man feminine to my nose. This is also a lot fresher and more appealing as well.

As far as just the scent goes its a fresh take on a coffee fragrance thats sweet, yet not overly sweet. A pretty simple frag really

Id rate this an 8.5 out of 10 ! Great bang for your buck :)

This is just a first impression... My opinion may change. And right now im stuck between really liking and loving this scent

libou

Exactly the same smell that rochas man for much cheaper

jiujitsuhero

This Scent is just awesome. My chick really digs it. she said i smelled delicious. definitely a great scent. I havent really been a fan of Celeb made colognes only except Sean John Unforgivable.Definitely a going out at night fragrance or a chill day juice. I dont recommend for hot days.

Syzygy73

Imagine you're on a night out, you see lots of really hot girls, they are done up, look amazing have hordes of guys around them. You decide to go over and talk to one of them, all they do is spout generic, hollow conversation that ultimately leaves you feeling disillusioned. . . And then you see a girl, she looks ok, different, something about her suggests you go over and chat with her. She is amazing, deep, sophisticated, a treasure. MJ Legend is this girl. Winner.

I am a "LEGEND" whenever I wear this!!!!!!

This scent right here...I mean, wow! This was my best blind buy to date. I bought this last year and I'm just now writing a review for it because I noticed I hadn't yet.

Spicy, warm, coffee(which I don't even like usually but in this it works), scrumptious..that's a note, right? This is honestly one of my favorite scents for cold weather and I paid the least for this than almost any of my collection. But that's not even what makes it wonderful. I'd have paid designer fragrance price for this. The longevity is amazing as well. This cologne is just so much fun all the way around.

redboxmike

I am not going to lie. Michael Jordan Legend is a great fragrance. It's not amazing. It's just great. And it's a celebrity fragrance to boot! Why it doesn't cost half an arm and a leg? I don't know, but wow—it's like something your rich uncle gives you because he's already got a backup bottle stashed away somewhere in his closet (along with his 200+ other fragrances). The perfume snobs say it smells like Rochas Man and New Haarlem Bond. I don't know. I haven't tried them. Michael Jordan Legend, I got just so I could layer with Givenchy Pi . Alone? I don't like it too much. I respect it. It smells good. It's great. It's just not my go-to scent. But layer it with Givenchy Pi? And it becomes amazing.

mfeezy

Got a bottle from Ross marked down to $8.99 for a 3.4 oz.
At that price, I had to get it - even though I already have a 3.4 of New Haarlem.

I can see where people say this and NH are similar but this is more synthetic. I also get a slight Animale Animale out of this as well.

Overall this is a very good scent. I wouldn't wear it in the summer or spring, but it's great for fall and winter...

Catch83

Wow this stuff smells so good, only paid 12.99 what a great steal.

Since several people compared it to New Haarlem, I decided to get a bottle. Was very surprised once I tried it. It initially smells somewhat sweet, with some vanilla, and a little coffee. It is the dry down that is great. The scent morphs into a spicy aroma that one just doesn't get from a $25 bottle.
To compare it to New Haarlem is understandable for the first 1/2 hour. After that Legend becomes an almost entire different scent which is great. I really enjoy it and would recommend this to my friends.

iznogoud

Blind purchase based on the reviews I have read here... Many thanks to all those that made the recommendations. Defintely worth the money, and the price cannot be beat. Should really come with some type of warning that you will not be able to stop yourself from smelling your arms every few mins!!

briannyc94

great for the price. just go easy on the trigger, it is way sweet and can make someone get a headache easily with its sweet coffee smell. but again great for the price and can be great for the winter

markpadilla13

should i blind buy this?

eric.cius

I've had this for a while now but am only now writing a review. This is a great fragrance. Not based on how inexpensive it, because I do believe that if this sold for 3 times it's price it would still warrant the same stellar reviews.

It starts off a bit harsh as mentioned, almost like...a disinfectant maybe? but quickly turns from there with a quick blast of the coffee which then gets taken over by a pleasant sweetness that lingers about you all day.

I recently tried New Harrlem by Bond and even though I didn't have Legend on at that time to compare they are very similar. I would say the edge goes to Legend for being a "fresher" (for lack of a better word) gourmand.
NH gets too sticky as time went on and a little irritating, Legend gets better as time goes.

I definitely will buy another bottle when this bottle finishes, not something I often do.

I blind bought this cologne online for about $20 for a 3.4oz. Already it was a great deal. When the package arrived and I first sprayed it I was definitely surprised. I really liked it! The first spray did confuse me slightly. I was expecting to smell strong coffee like I had just brewed a cup or walked into a Starbucks. Instead I got a slightly leathery coffee with a powdery lavender.

What surprised me was that Legend got better over time. I feel like the first spray was a bit harsh but the cologne smooths out and sweetens over time. I think the cologne is very linear but a solid performer throughout. It definitely lasts over 6 hours on me and has average sillage.

One quick note on comparisons with New Haarlem and Rochas Man. Although I do not own these two I have sampled them before. I see that they share similar notes/DNA but I think they are all different. I think New Haarlem is much sweeter and much more syrupy. Rochas Man smells more like a coffee drink with milk and a powdery sugar vibe. I will not say which one I like best.

Overall, Michael Jordan Legend is a great casual cologne to wear as a daytime or even gym scent. I never find this to be cloying or over powering even on a warmer day. I think it can be worn comfortably in fall, winter, and spring with solid longevity and sillage.

This is a awesome cologne if you want something that is sweet, warm and soothing. I like this fragrance a lot and for the cheap price I'd say this is a good blind buy.

AmazonGrace

Holy wow! I bought this blind for my boyfriend based on the reviews here, and the notes in MJ's Legend. I honestly thought for the low price, it was worth a try.

I do not regret for a moment having bought this! Very good quality warm, cozy scent--(I never did believe price is an accurate reflection of quality.)

I'd call this a gourmand when it's on his skin. I don't smell the coffee note, but I do smell a mild chocolate note.

Great for the holidays, a cold night indoors by a warm fire, aromatherapy use--whenever a man wants a true feel-good scent that envelops him in delicious warmth!

I'm not ashamed at all to recant what I said earlier about Legend. I LOVE IT! It is suitable as a winter fragrance more than any other season in my view.

Legend is a captivating, masculine gourmand!

Now to be honest I laughed when I saw the bottle, until I put it on...

Once I got my nose on it, Legend blew me away with how good it smells and the apparent quality behind it. It is very, very good. Truly a high quality scent that also lasts a long time and projects well, from the most unsuspecting bottle. If there were ever a fragrance to teach us not to judge a scent by it's bottle, this and CK One Shock would be it.

"Mmmmmm, you smell good! What IS that?!" are exactly the kinds of comments you get often when wearing this wonderful fragrance.

Like many, I prefer this to Rochas Man as well. It arguably smells better from top to bottom (more masculine) and has a big performance advantage.

Defying all first impressions, Legend by Michael Jordan is one hell of a fragrance for the money. I may keep the bottle hidden in the back of my collection, but I keep this fragrance in the front of my line-up.

Score: 8/10

I really like this scent... Its soft uplifting like pancakes and a good cup of coffee kind of energy...,but its more than that! I wish it was a little stronger but it stays on my skin about 6-7 hours and a whiff of the scent is just amazing! Cheap buy $12 at Ross ,but smells like a Million Bucks!

I give it a 8/10 just because it smells so Goood...

Legend by name, legend by nature!

I became interested in this one after reading about it on here. It's not easy to buy in Australia because MJ doesn't have the same profile as he has in the USA, but I managed to get hold of a bottle today and am so glad I did.

This is amazing for the price. Heck, this is amazing for ANY price! The bottle itself looks a bit cheap but that only makes the contents all the more intriguing. It's like all the other reviews have said, an intoxicating blend of amber, tobacco, leather and floral notes. Don't be put off by the name and expect one of those standard sport guy Cool Water ripoff colognes. Give it a couple of minutes to develop, as it can be a bit alcohol-y at first.

But when it settles ... oohhhh baby look out!

Absloutely superb !

Hints of coffee, caramel, etc... it's definitely a masterpiece in my opinion.

If you enjoy the scent of New Haarlem and Rochas Man this one is right in the ballpark with them...many people have not been able to tell the difference between the 200+ dollar bottle of Bond No.9's New Haarlem and the 80-150 dollar Rochas Man...and many of the reviewers on YouTube and other video sites chose MJ's Legend over the more expensive ones!

Legend costs 15~30 dollars

Scent Rating ~ 9 out of 10 !

As a quiet morning, the first smell of coffee is fresh, and that one day started well. Why use a different colognes when there Legend?

About Scent i can feel the hint of vanilla in this fragrance, but i dislike bottle design just because the sprayer look cheapy and the cap look doesn't shine, so that's why it's cheaper but it's has a good scent.

Headhead1000

Love it for the price and the quality .. Talk about bang for your buck ! 100% great sent if you see it buy it . .

I've only owned this bottle a week and I can see this being one of my top ten easy.
The coffee smell (more like fresh coffee beans) is truly beautiful, with its vanilla Smokey dry down.
I get great longevity out of this,,twelve plus hours and for the first six hours the silage is crazy, in a super way..
I don't own bond nh or rochas man so I couldn't give you comparison, but I do get the top and mid of animal animal in this, as the dry down, but coffee instead of chocolate, which makes this even more of a winner for me becouse the top and mid are the best bits on that frag...overall ,,,8 out of 10..

@Kunio , it was released before Rochas Man, so try 'Rochas man is a copy of Legend'

kunio

This is a copy of Rochas Man...

I was near a Ross store and bought the 100ML for $14. After your senses calm down from being attacked by alcohol, you'll finally get a mild spicy and sweet flavor that is suitable for any occasion. Michael Jordan's Legend is a VERY cheap and weak Givenchy Pi on my skin. Six to eight sprays would not be overdoing it, since it does not have great projection. For what it is and what it can do, I believe Legend is worth the discounted price. It gets a C rating from me.

ChristopherRiley

An initially sour-caramel frag which soon becomes more settled and becomes a warm smokey-caramel aroma..

I applied 6 heavy sprays

0 - 2 mins. Alcohol to the max

2 mins - 45 mins - 2 inch projection, close to skin. Sour-caramel, not what I was expecting. I think the sourness is from the Bergamot which just does not work with the caramel IMHO

45 mins - 3 hours. Projection take of 10 inches now. The sourness is replaced with some smokiness and it's now appealing and sexy. This is Rochas Man and I see no connection with A Men. It's more caramel than coffee to me and not complex enough to be considered a gourmand. I recommend lovers of this try Jessica Simpson Fancy EDP Femme, which is a massive caramel gourmand which is amazing!!

3 hours - 6 hours - 6 inch projection. Keeps going!

6 hours - 8 hours - 2 inch projection

8 -10 hours. Close to skin

Warms me up in the Winter months and puts a smile on my face. Happy with my blind buy!!!

One of the truly great bargain fragrances on the market today. Best purchased after Christmas at an American department store chain; for a 50 percent discount; Legend stretches out as a beautiful coffee, candy, desert gourmand with a sophisticated and nurtured blending that outperforms most offering three times it's msrp. Essential, not overbearing, and well blended, Legend is a real treasure and treat for coffee lovers and fans of rochas, angel men or new Haarlem, but shockingly it can be argued Legend is actually classier and more sophisticated than all those offerings. More proof Bo Diddley was right about not judging a book by its cover, or a frag by its bottle.

jozemo

A*MEN clone in a very good way! This is for the indiviual who rather not spend a lot for a quality gourmand fragrance,a good juice coming from the house of M.J. his best to date. This one is getting sprayed until it's played out folks!

Got home very late tonight, and my doorman tells me I have a package. I knew it was the bottle of Legend I'd ordered a few days ago. I ordered it based on the reviews I'd read here.

Guys - I am speechless. I expected it to smell like Rochas Man and New Haarlem (both of which I have) because I trust these reviews and your noses. But did I expect it to smell this good? Not at all. I was expecting something pleasant, but at this price point, very ersatz. I was never happier to have prematurely underestimated a fragrance than I was tonight. This is just plain lovely.

As for strictly the coffee scent, I get more New Haarlem than I do Rochas Man, but the overall sweetness places it more towards the Rochas Man camp. It manages to straddle the fence between both quite nicely.

What I have done to great effect in the past is to wear both Rochas Man and New Haarlem together. Not overlapping, but spraying them separately on different areas. Usually the left neck pulse point with New Haarlem, and the right with Rochas Man. When I really wanted to live dangerously, I'd add a spritz of Thierry Mugler's Pure Coffee on my chest. Come first frost, I am going to try all four. Not sure what will happen, but I am reminded of one of Steven Wright's deadpan non sequitors: "I put instant coffee in a microwave oven and almost went back in time".

PSILOVEFRAGRANCES

Well, I just received my bottle of Michael Jordan Legend, and I am bowled over! This stuff is incredible. I knew it would be similar to Rochas Man, and it is, but Legend has something different that makes it stand out as superior. I cannot describe it right now, but it's just heavenly. I don't know what note I'm detecting, but I love it. I sprayed on about 4 spritzes to my neck. I could smell it on myself for about the first two hours. I think my nose gets de-sensitized to the aroma after a while, but anyway...this is a great fragrance guys, and it's cheap, and that's a real good reason to buy some. It smells so expensive. This is a gourmand fragrance, and one I wish more people would wear. I love smelling fragrances on other people even more than on myself. I usually never buy something unless I've first smelled it on someone else. That's the proof of the pudding for me. If somebody else smells great, I'm hoping it will do the same for me. Here's hoping Legend will.

I read the reviews for this long ago. I just couldn't get myself over the hurdle that this was a Michael Jordan fragrance. I'm a huge sports fan but couldn't care less about the NBA, and got so sick of hearing about MJ over the years. He was way overly mass marketed.

In searching for a new "signature" fragrance, I was hoping to find something that wasn't well known. An unknown an underdog, if you will. The more obscure the scent the better for me. That is part of the problem with Givenchy Play ...it's so mainstream.

I'm a lover of the Givenchy Play line, but don't love the longevity or the price tag. I've been trying about everything along the lines of Play that I can get my hands on.

Today, I received MJ Legend, Armand Basi Armand Basi Homme, and Body Kouros from YSL.

I assembled the 3 samples and made sure I couldn't see what they were as I took them out of the packaging. I applied all 3 to different parts of me and proceeded to sniff them. Sample 1 I fell in love with... Sample 2 was okay... Sample 3 was okay. In fact Sample 2 and 3 were very, very, much the same.

So, what were the samples? #1 was Jordan Legend... #2 Kouros Body and #3 Armand Basi Homme.

Jordan wins in a landslide and it's remarkable how similar this is to Rochas Man. It also has some similarities with Play Intense.

If I had to pick between Kouros and Armand Basi, I'd go with Kouros Body. EDIT: I'd take Aramand Basi homme...way too hasty just like judging a movie good or bad 10 minutes in...have to wait for the ending. (Did that with a movie called, MY FIRST MISTER... horrible first 10 minutes, but turned out being one of the best I'd ever seen...check it out. Sorry for the digression...must be impaired from all these samples pouring through my pores and into my bloodstream) Armand Basi seems to have the best staying power and I like what it turned into...heck, I may even like it better than Jordan.

Ugh, why do I have to like a fragrance that flies in the face of everything I was looking for from a marketing standpoint! Why!

I own New Haarlem and Rochas Man, and Legend
If you like Either One of these,
Try Body Heat by Bod Man
The one that looks like a Hand Grenade Bottle
It is $15-20 at Walmart, Kmart

You Will Love It Too

Freakmotion

This one does ressemble Rochas Man, but it's better in my opinion. MJL it's really sweet, as it is Rochas, but not cloying even when you go nuts on the trigger. Rochas Man I believe is mostly chocolate and sweets, but MJL is sweets and florals with a hint of honey. This makes it a more versatile fragrance than RM.

Anyway, this is good stuff, very good stuff indeed and for a low price. If you have the chance and are into gourmands, you can't go wrong buying it blind.

andy

legend is no doubt the best celeb scent, It is hard to describe because the notes listed here are NOT at all easy to notice because its so well blended and this really is the BEST cologne buy because you get a 200 dollar scent for under 20 in a 3.4 ounce bottle and it smells WAY better than anything in a dept store and it has great sillage and longevity and once you smell it u wont want to wear anything else

Odiee99

Everyone is right this is just like Rochas Man. If you have both you can tell the difference. Rochas Man is sweeter(slightly burnt sugar smell) and has a heavier coffee smell. Legend is a bit creamier and warmer with more projection and longevity. I would only wear Rochas Man on certain occasions. MJ Legend is more versatile. You can wear it to school, work, shopping wherever.

Because everyone said this smelled so similar to Rochas Man I had no intention of buying it. I had just ordered Rochas Man on Amazon and I was shopping at K&G Fashion and I spotted this and I caved in and got it. Definitely not disappointed. More wearable than RM and I would recommend it to anyone. Now if I can only find my bottle... my brother keeps repossessing this.

siririschmoos

Good stuff, nice warm aroma that just has to be savored by applying on those cool/cold fall or winter days!

Lasts a good while and projects! Have never tried New Haarlem but if they are identical then you gotta go with this because it's available at many locations for low prices.

Michael Jordan scents are not bad and this one so far is definetely the best.

Kendall

Ok ok ok, believe the hype! I just recently went to a parfum boutique n had them spray New Harlem on my arm, already having Legend on the other arm. I can honestly say that they smell about 95% identical, with a few differences. But I think this smelled a lil better than New Harlem with the longevity power being about the same. 8+ hours. So if u love New Harlem but don't wanna post that hefty fee, I strongly recommend Michael Jordan Legend! Trust me you will not be disappointed. You might even finding yourself liking this a but more. I do!

omarilm1

Oh yeah smells like insurrection. Kind of cheap

omarilm1

This is cool it just don't last more than an hour if you like cologne get Gucci 1

Jave26

Pleasantly surprised with this, but it does smell just like Rochas Man. I smell a slight difference at first spray but shortly after its almost identical to RM, I think MJ has a stronger and longer dry down where RM is not as powerful but smoother. all in all this would be a good purchase, for the price you can't go wrong and probably won't be disappointed.

billiam160

i get a vanilla from this mixed with leather and coffee great for winter but i dont hate it in the summer great scent from an amazing athlete

scentualMan

Here's the scoop on this one: It smells nearly identical to Rochas Man. If you own Rochas Man, then don't buy this. If you like Rochas Man but want something cheaper and slightly stronger, give this a try. The only difference between the two is that Rochas Man offers a little more of a coffee note and a stronger blast of bergamot (citrus) at the beginning, otherwise the average person wouldn't notice ANY difference. Literally the same dry-down...

My grade: 8/10 (lacking in orginality but smells too good to complain)

junior halston

This maybe an eau de cologne but it is at strong EDT/EDP strength. It is like a blend of Bulgari Black / A*MEN / Armani Code / Rochas Man.

Wow everything crammed into one bottle :)
