Well balanced fresh scent, as Morillas usually accomplishes. Pleasant Sea note and lavender. Not loud, but that is not a fault at all. It is definitely somewhat similar to Versace Pour Homme. Solid heavy bottle.

I have a soft spot for spring and summer, and this fragrance matches both seasons very well, especially the sping. Acqua Essenziale OG is uplifting, invigorating, and smile-producing, fresh. It’s not intended to ‘panty-drop’ , intrigue, or make you ‘stand out of the crowd’, it doesn’t aim for that. It aims at something more basic and more personal, and it achieves it. When I put this fragrance on a sunny day, the world just turns a bit brighter. On the negative side, its longevity is not the best, around 2-4 hours max. For its price, it’s a definite great fragrance.

Finally, i now have this hidden gem. It's love at first sniff for me. It was a safe-blindbuy thankfully!

I was afraid that i will not gonna like this, because i'm not a fan of acqua essenziale blu.

But surprisingly, i love the smell of it. It's cheap but smells classy!

It reminds me of Bleu De Chanel EDT.

i also love acqua essenziale colonia.

I'm happy with my purchase.

Similar to blue de channel but without the heavy incense note.
Acqua Essenziale is more fresher and aquatic. It opens minty with lemon Leaf kind of like a jolly rancher candy and stays like that throughout the whole life.

Vapor Trail

It's not bad. There's a big blast of mint in the beginning and it opens a tad bitter-smelling before settling down into the usual smooth aquatic vibe typical of men's fragrances in the early 2010s. You'll smell fresh and clean and right out of the shower, and also like "cologne" to anyone who isn't really into this hobby.

Both the Blu and Colonia flankers have more character IMO and perform better.

Johnay

bleu de chanel and gio mix, wonderful combo. Very fresh, uplifting with some musky, woody notes.

Acqua Essenziale Salvatore Ferragamo.

This is a boring basic cheap freshie with no longevity or projection which is why I was shocked that a lot of people enjoy and want this fragrance. It smells like cucumbers and lime. It’s really average and the only reason someone would buy this is for the sake of it because of how cheap it is. Its alright but don’t spend your money on it.

Update: After wearing this fragrance for a few weeks now I realise why people want it. It smells alright, very mass appealing but I understand why people want it now. It’s because it projection is great for its price. It gets a lot of compliments and projects amazingly off my skin.

A Good Scent with Bad performance/longet.

Imagine this scenario: Alberto Morillas just phoning in this insipid wisp of a fragrance to the Ferragamo House.

This one reeks of a lack of inspiration, however, it is not an unpleasant fragrance.
Lanvin L'Homme is on the short list for boring, invisible, and undistinguished fresh scents.
Talk about office-friendly!

I don't layer fragrances very often, but I found that by alternately spritzing 1 part Lanvin L'Homme with 2 parts Acqua Essenziale several times, boosts the oomph of Acqua Essenziale and subdues the overt muskiness of Lanvin L'Homme, creating an enjoyable synergistic experience. As a result, I did not waste my money on these 2 blind buys.

#291 in my "Tour de Fragrance"

I think what we have here is a grammatical error in the Italian. "Acqua Essenziale" translates as "Essential Water." But what we have here should be labeled L'Acqua, Essenzialmente" which translates, "Water, Essentially." Beautiful bottle. Probably expensive to make. The oils used in the fragrance wouldn't buy a happy meal.

I've intentionally purchased one "fraiche", the Versace Man Eau Fraiche, which I can wear around a girlfriend with super sensitive sinuses. But I've probably purchased and donated 150+ fraiche masquerading as EDT, like this Ferragamo offering which is barely a fraiche in strength. That touch of mint, hint of wood, dash of spice, rapidly disappear after a weak and indistinct opening into nothing you can really identify in the dry down. Spray it six times, twelve times, apply the entire bottle, wash your clothing in it, the results will be the same.

The opening does remind me of original Acqua di Gio, a sour, watery mess that shares this fragrance's impotence, except with the ADG the scent of lemon juice you spilled on the kitchen counter over the weekend and didn't wipe up hangs on, but nothing hangs on of the notes in use here.

I have repeatedly gone into these trials hoping for the best from frags by brands like Ferragamo, Camuto, Varvatos, but they are what they are: down market brands that disappoint with indifferent performance every time. And I have learned the lesson. Save your money and do without until you can afford at the very least an EDP, preferably a Parfum or Extrait that will at least last from the morning shower to lunch, and even then, it's, "buyer beware." Yes, unless you go for the Arab perfumers, which I have learned to appreciate, you will invariably pay $100 and up. But you get something for your money. With down-market brands like this you get nothing for your money but disappointment, and you help keep alive a segment of the industry that's playing consumers for suckers, selling product they know will dissipate from the time you leave the counter at Macy's Herald Square and five minutes later when you walk into Grace Street Coffee for their fabulous Matcha Ice Cream Waffle. That at least never disappoints!

Kennet123$

Should be called a fraiche, doesnt last long and doesnt project. ok smell, 5/10

For me it’s a higher quality Nautica voyage without the apple note

This is a nice blue aquatic fragrance, on par with Bleu de Chanel and Versace pour homme. It’s clean and simple, nothing daring or “funky”. I bought it blind and it’s definitely safe. For the price, I would highly recommend. The average nose will not think BDC smells better than this.

Darmok

I find this fragrance absolutely divine off my skin. It manages to bring a smile to my face every time I catch a whiff.

I’m fairly new to the fragrance game and only own 7 frags and have tried around 30. Therefore I cannot confirm nor deny if it’s similar to BDC or ADG, and being so new I feel as though it’s easier to excite me.

I bought it for the high heat/high humidity conditions I work in and I have to say it excels, very refreshing! I get good projection for the first 2 hours and about 5 more hours of good periodical whiffage.

ElNino-7-

I really, really like this stuff, it's intoxicating, but has it been discontinued? It's not on the Ferragamo website.

A.Brock

Hard not to enjoy this, especially given the very low price. Subtle, clean and fresh. Soapy citrus, ideal casual summer fragrance.

Sensiblescents

Smells nice, but probably the poorest performer in my collection, 2 hrs, and its just a faint skin scent on me, right now I just keep it in the glove box, and spray on my shirt before gym.

vitaminko

Great versatile scent. In a ballpark with Acqua di Gio and Bleu de Chanel. Great quality for the price by master perfumer Alberto Morillas

lzblz

When likening this to Bleu de chanel EDT no they do not smell identical, however, Both are clean, airy, refined blue fragrances with some sex appeal, that definitely make you smell “like you have your stuff together”. Both are unisex in my opinion. Both are mass pleasing. This one happens to be a quarter of the cost. This one smells slightly more designer, alittle cheaper and sporty aquatic.
Once in a while you will catch a whiff of this and will be vaguely reminded of something you once smelled on a guy, which may or may not have been BDC EDT authentic or not, or was is Versace homme?? Once you get into the realm of popular blue fragrances, things start to smell similar. Will the people in your office know the difference, or care? No. Most people will just think or say you smell good.
This one is certainly worth smelling and worth buying for the average joe or jane. I did blind buy and have zero regrets. Chanel’s have a perfumey undertone that doesn’t work on my skin, so I will opt for this.

Afrikano

To me this smells a lot like the original Acqua Di Gio and seeing as Alberto Morillas is the perfumer I’m not surprised. If you already have the original or any flankers you can skip this but if you missed out on the original like me, this is a good replacement for it. It’s only $15-$20 and smells really good but isn’t anything unique or exciting but for the price I can’t complain. Gonna be my daily gym scent for me. I also don’t understand the BDC comparisons as it’s not close to it in smell or scent style. This feels more like a Armani flanker. For the price, smell, quality and presentation I’ll give this a 8.5/10

krisscent

Smells nothing like Bleu De Chanel. Smells ALOT like Acqua Di Giò Absolu and for that reason 10/10

FlexYoFace

This was also my "Safe Frag". Huge Morillas fan and love me some safe office scents. However much to my surprise, out of most of my fragrances, girls like the safer ones the most over time. It seems like women definitely like airy and fresh over sweet and heavy/dark almost universally at all times and seasons. It's good, has a fruity pear like opening and a good simple aquatic. Easy to wear.

binbabalu

After wearing this as my "Safe Frag" to switch things up, I am really appreciating how good this is. It is kind of an aquatic chanel vibe, has some sweetness and is a top quality light blue fragrance.

This has more punch intially and sticks around for 4-5 hrs. This may be generic but you can buy much worse aquatics on today's market from any designer. This is a winner. Great Line, I love em all except Colonia (Smells great if you like old school vibes for sure).

marcheellll

3 weeks ago I ordered this fragrance blindly after reading some reviews. I desperately needed a another dumb reach for the summer/office.
Fast forward to 2 days ago I smelled ADG Absolu and fell in love with it. I was determined to buy it next month but I literally sprayed this one onto my wrist and smells quite similar. Knocked two birds with one stone I guess.

LordCharfield

Nice freshie. I get a bit of watermelon and a tea note, although not listed as notes above. Well worth the money, but if you’re looking for a BDC approximation, this isn’t it…..at all! I despair at the “reminds me of” section. It seems to be populated by mischief makers and idiots.
As someone below remarked, this is it’s own scent. I’m going to buy another bottle when I can find one at the right price.

Gravemind98

Bert interesting for a blue fragrance. On my skin, it has quite a sweet opening. Mixed with oceanic and fresh notes, kind of like invictus. But if I’m being honest, I like this fragrance more. An absolute steal for $20 or less. Easy blind buy in my opinion, it’s better than most fragrances in its class. Performance could be a LOT better, although in my skin it seems to last more than most people say. Also, this is literally not similar to BDC at all. Like just bc they’re barely in the same fragrance class, doesn’t mean their comparable at all. This literally smells maybe 20% similar at most. It doesn’t need to be a clone though, it is its own fragrance, and I love it

lifeofS89

Best in the line scent wise. performance is atrocious though.

In no way, shape or form is this close to BDC.
I bought this in the fruitless pursuit of finding a cheaper BDC. If thats what you're doing here save yourself from nickel & diming your way to dissapointment & just buy the BDC at the high price tag.

If you're here to try this scent as a general summer scent than thats all you're going to get. Look elsewhere, you can do better for the same price range. It's not outright bad but it's not good either. This is the Toyota Corolla of scents.

websterdaniel

This is a very fresh, nice aquatic fragrance. Right out of the gate, I get the blue watery notes, then the mint and lavender mix well with each other. The geranium is in there in the background. I also get this note that reminds me of lemon balm or something; it could be the lemon leaf and rosemary in the back of it.

All in all, it's a very nice, fresh fragrance that it safe for just about any occasion. Longevity is moderate, as is sillage. Well made, very affordable, suitable for any occasion.

dlopeztt

This is a nice freshie. Easy to wear. To my nose I get a specific fruit accord on top, even though I don’t see any listed. It is fruity, fresh and pleasant.

Gogiciano

This is my least favorite of the line. I love the flankers really much. This doesn't work for me. It smells a little bit strange of my skin.

This fragrance is not blue enough and not fresh enough. Again those flankers are top notch. Go for those.

sameenuk

This is an interesting scent which doesn't quite work for me. Its a dumb reach scent and to give it its due, its projection and longevity is really good. The problem i think is that the scent's soapiness make it smell a bit too synthetic. It feels a lot like the perfumer should have cared a lot more about what was going on in this scent. The Sea Notes remind me a bit of Davidoff Cool Water or Aqua di Gio, but without really competing with either. Its a safe office scent because most people won't really appreciate what youre wearing as long as you don't smell of a student disco. But for the connisseur, i think there will be an issue with this one. I'm pretty sure the flaw in this one is just one contrasting note too many. That being said, the vetiver drydown is really worth keeping on. Just something in it that doesn't work for me personally from the opening.

I'd still wear this over Eau de Douchebag scents like Sauvage or Bleu de Chanel.

abahvdbs

LIGHTLY SOAPY-SWEET-HERBAL AQUATIC

on initial spray reminds me of CK Eternity Aqua how it's mildly sweet fresh soapy clean, then as it dries starts to get a bit herbal/green-aquatic to resemble a lighter Issey Miyake L'Eau Bleue d'Issey Pour Homme; starts off modern/youthful and gets more mature as it dries, stays fresh soapy clean throughout; won't "wow" anyone but a pleasant clean smelling scent nonetheless; the entire fragrance is fairly light making it an in-close scent or having to spray very liberally to get good projection/sillage'.

Projection/Sillage' is DECENT, provides a nice scent bubble around & aromatic for 1st hour or so then mainly detectable in-close

Performance/Longevity is GOOD, last about 6-8 hours

Travieboy18

This is a great, cheap aquatic meets Bleu de Chanel. Very inoffensive and perfect for work in the warmer months.
Longevity isn't the best but that's as expected of an aquatic. Just decant and you're good.
8/10, will buy again.

StankFrank

Scent is blue mint and juicy citrus to open. Now you are noseblind. Don't worry, you are projecting. When you begin to regain olifactory consciousness 30min later, some green (tea/maté??) & some non soapy non white flowers (lavender & geranium I suppose) and lots of seaspray come in. Citrus goes delightfully bitter but not harsh, still pumping for another 30min. Dry down in an hour is a slightly woody, sweet/sour citrus musk. Lasts 3-4 hours on my skin & not much longer on clothes in the heeeeaaaat if I moisturize heavy before application. Aquaphor for the win.

Juice is weak inexpensive & inoffensive for the most part (looking at you mint haters) so doubling up the sprays isn't a problem unless I'm in close quarters & doubling works well outside. Slightly masculine, works from 16-whatever outside in the heat of summer. A younger person or a non frag snob could likely wear this as a signature scent year round. Smells more expensive than it is. CoolWater grown up. VPH dressed down. Everyday summer freshie. To my nose this is nothing like the Blu which is nothing like the Colonia. I really like the other 2.

Scent 7/10 great summer casual scent but nothing unique
Performance 5/10
Value 6/10

Hopefully the performance improves as the bottle ages a bit, otherwise this may be 1 & done.

Guccipordior

For $15 at Marshall's you aren't gonna be dissapointed. It's a typical aquatic sure, but it's a nice smelling one. I really don't think its screechy or synthetic. You can overspray it. It doesn't smell cheap, but it doesn't smell of Chanel quality. Don't let the BDC comparisons lead you to purchasing this, as it is not even remotely a substitute.

If you are standing at a rack store, holding this bottle in your hand and considering whether you should buy it, do so. You will not experience buyer's remorse. Maybe at first, when you realize it is fairly generic. You'll think to yourself, "damn, I did it again. Wasted my money on a mediocre fragrance because I just wanted a new fragrance."

Sure, I've been there.

But when you start to put it on after you shower, in the morning, to bed, out to run an errand, you realize that it was a really good buy, because it's a dumb reach that doesn't suck, is cheap, and won't offend anyone. It smells good. You can layer it with something else that is also light and sweet to give it more character. Layering is cool if you can do it correctly.

It's not a lady killer, but ladies may like it. I don't know, I don't do this for the fame.

Warm weather, day time. Not like BDC. Buy it if it is cheap. Good "summer cheapie".

spiceysauce5

I had a decant that smelled very aquatic and sharp, with a slight mint touch. Bought a fb today and on first application it's heavy ambroxan (makes sense with bdc comparisons, before I never understood the similarity), and a big dollop of mint. I'd say primarily mint and ambroxan honestly. Really disappointing as I can't handle ambroxan, it gives me a headache very quickly. I'm hoping its more operable on clothing. If you don't mind ambroxan and like mint, I highly highly reccomendthis, one of the greatest bang for buck frags I know of

OldFragMan

Dumb reach, daily driver. It's somewhat similar to BDC but more aquatic, and generally fruity. It's very balanced. A tad sweet but never obnoxious.

This is cheapie winner for me. A good signature, all season, all-purpose fragrance. Great for the office too.

8 out of 10

FragKing15

I havent owned Bleu de chanel so I cant compare it to that. The opening in for me smells very much like the invictus aqua if I can compare it to a fragrance but then the dry down is different and more fresh and the citrus smell goes away. Its fresh and clean and it lasts up to 6 - 8 hours on me. Good for the price

Cole73

The lemon leaf and Vetiver in this is really off putting. It’s kinda sour. I don’t see this as a mass appealing dumb reach. Not worth it even though it’s cheap

SuperNoob

LOVE the scent. HATE the "performance". The latest one, Colonia, has much better traditional performance. The scent itself is exactly what I want, but to get the most out of it I'd have to carry a bottle around. Even a 5ml decant won't make it through the day. Sad.

Deedawg76

This is doesn’t get enough attention these days. It’s always Bleu or the Colognia but this is a great fragrance! It’s airy like Voyage but has a sweet spicyness that gives it a bit of an edge! Performance is good, it’s a frag that will sneak up on you and get whiffs of 5-6 hours down the road especially if you spray clothes!

MrAbbas

Sure nothing to do with Bleu De Chanel, Bleu is way more refined and better quality. This smells good in the opening then reaches a phase of being a bit "eggy" on my skin and then smells like an unused green tea teabag. Not a fan at all.

Roman86

This is a casual aquatic scent you can wear at work or something you put on when going to the store. It’s a bargain at its current price but don’t expect to be blown away. It’s a nice and safe scent and should be appreciated for that alone.

anthonycball

Mildly sweet opening with a fresh, clean and pleasant dry-down. Somewhat light and inviting. I grabbed this at a TJ Maxx for $16.99 thinking it was the Blu version. Upon unboxing and first spray in my car, I realized my mistake... which turned out to be anything but. While there's nothing incredibly unique or remarkable about this fragrance, it just smells great. So easy and versatile to wear. Perfect for any occasion you need a "safe" option. This will be worked into my office rotation. I'm happy with my pick-up.

NCscent

I like this quite a bit. The opening to me is extremely similar to Zegna Uomo. However, where Uomo remains linear in it's slightly sharp crispness, Acqua Essenziale dries down to a more rounded, softened scent. I'm guessing it's due to the musklabdanum combo providing a subtle sweetness, but I'm honestly not "scent smart" enough to say for sure. I can see fans of Zegna Uomo, Versace Pour Homme and Acqua Di Gio liking this one.
This is definitely a safe blind buy and is surely a crowd pleaser with moderate performance and moderate silage.

kingc01

I bought this one out of curiosity seeing that I like Colonia for its citrus fresheness.
Opens spicy with a animalistic nuance. Then gently warms up with a musky lavender freshness embellished by sea notes. Picture Acqua di Gio (father) and Nautica Blu (mother) had a baby, this would be that baby, but he has more of his mother's personality at the end.

bogmire

Not my favorite but nice smelling and I will continue to wear it occasionally until my bottle is used up.

ThaSickSence

I love this cologne! I blind bought it and I do not regret it. Does smell similar to Bleu De Chanel but a little bit different. It has a spicy note that I really like. Smells very nice and fresh, perfect for summer and spring time. Perfect for a night out as well

piyux

Salvatore Ferragamo Acqua Essenziale Men EDT opens with a moderate projection of sweet, citrus, and spicy accords. The opening is very pleasant, fresh, and inviting. The mint and lemon leaf create a cooling green, sour, and slightly spicy accord; the geranium and lavender are the floral note, not prominent but noticeable, the lavender is one or two steps above the geranium. The rosemary is the spicy note, just a soft touch; the sea notes are noticeable and it gives the fragrance a fresh, salty, oceanic breeze. As the fragrance commences to dry-down, the patchouli and vetiver create a faint green touch, the musk is a projecting accord but not prominent as a note. Finally, the labdanum adds a soft ambery, sweet, fruity, and woody accord. The sweet and fruity accords of the labdanum are noticeable as soon as the fragrance is applied and they give this fragrance its sweetness character. The only noticeable opening to a dry-down change in this fragrance is the citrus notes that are sharper during the opening but relax a bit towards the dry-down. Once Salvatore Ferragamo Acqua Essenziale Men EDT has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, sweet, citrus (lemon leaf), green (mint), woody, and marine fragrance with some spicy, and soft floral accords. The fragrance feels airy, blue, breezy, diurnal, energizing, fresh, fruity, gentle, minty green, inviting, masculine but not for much, mild, modern, natural, nicely-blended, oceanic, playful, relaxing, mildly salty, sour, sporty, sweet, versatile, white, slightly woody, young, and very pleasant.

OntheMark

Acqua Essenziale could easily be called Versace Dylan Blue Sport, or something like that. Provided you spray it on heavily enough, it will eventually dry down to something very, very similar in vibe to Dylan Blue. On its way to the dry down, it's just light, clean and unobtrusive -- your quintessential safe scent, if you will.

But... due to absolutely abysmal warm weather performance, you really have to overspray this stuff. Don't get me wrong, as I really like the way it smells -- clean, balanced and ever so slightly incensey. It really is a super-versatile crowd pleaser, but it just doesn't perform well unless you douse yourself in it. Tell you what, though -- if they ever came up with an EDP version of this stuff, I think it would do very well in the market.

That said, it's super cheap for what it is, and I don't mind reapplying it now and again. Kind of makes me wonder whether -- in spite of this being more of a spring-summer type scent -- whether it might actually perform better in cooler weather. Time will tell. In the meantime, I will probably buy another bottle when I eventually run out.

skyward

The scent is very nice although a bit generic. A fresh, green and aquatic fragrance. The bottle is quality. The performance is moderate.

An easy to wear scent for spring and summer, you can't go wrong.

domajnik

Very beautiful scent. I love it! But the performance... it lasts only for an hour, then it sits very close to skin and is pretty much unnoticeable to the other people. Bought a bottle but had to return it.

alex_finance

A summer scent, aromatic citrusy and marine, with a woody start that distinguishes it from some other similar scents. Not anything Spectacular but since it is quite cheap, I give it an OK vote.

pretty weak scent. smells decent I guess. just your run of the mill aqua marine dna. as basic as it gets. synthetic and cheap but not the worst ever. it's like a weaker, even more synthetic version of Versace pour homme with a little more marine notes and somehow more blue. not as quality as VPH. I wouldn't recommend to anyone besides a 15 year old for their first cologne ever. I paid 15 bucks for it so I'm not too upset. doubt I'll reach for this much if ever. maybe try to sell idk. the ingredients kind of give me a headache too.

The sillage is moderate and last about 4-5 hours. It last all day on your skin and people can notice it if they are really close to you after 7 hours.

Eau de Nikita

I didnt like it and gave it away. Like another reviewer noted below it just has that "stench" on my skin. On the person i gave it to it smelled great tho... Clean and sport shower gel fresh but with a light saliva note in the background that i dislike on my skin. As if i took a shower but then chewed Big Red gum.

magnnum_paul

I've blindly bought this because it was a great price and the notes seemed to be perfect for a summer fragrance.
It's similar to Versace Man Eau Fraiche (which I had bought before Acqua Essenziale) especially in the opening and also mid phase, but Acqua has more of a fresh vibe to it. I'm attributing this to the ocean notes. Longevity is not as good as the Versace one, but at a fraction of a price it's still well worth it!

JayLee29

cheapie synthetic aquatic as far as scent goes, but this one is terrible on performance. doesn't project well at all. on the opening this has hints of Versace Pour Homme and the mid is similar to Nautica Voyage. the dry down it sort of becomes its own thing. it also has a blue vibe, almost more than the aquatic vibe. it smells pretty good, but unfortunately does not project well or perform well and really is just your run of the mill aquatic scent dna like a million other ones. this is the same dna that another million mall scent aquatic colognes share. I paid $15 for it so at that price it's an ok little dumb reach cologne. but as I expand my collection I highly doubt I'll use this one that much

in the opening you get all sorts of notes which is cool. I get musk, lemon, and minty aquatic notes. in the dry down I get a lot of patchouli and lavender along with the blue aquatic vibe. but it's overall pretty weak and synthetic unfortunately. oh well, it's cheap

msajoy

lovely acquatic fragrance, ozonic aromatic blue and kind of floral. has vibes of Bleu de chanel on the drydown but not a clone. good for any age any occasion.women love these kind of ozonic fresh frags on men, good longevity and more polished than many other acquatics

My dad owns a bottle of Acqua Essenziale by Salvatore Ferragamo. I decided to try it on just for fun. I like this perfume. It's not that strong so it's not headache inducing. I get the minty notes and the citrus. It does smell a bit like rotten eggs which I do not enjoy. It is sweet enough to be unisex. Overall, I choose this perfume when I want to remember my dad but it is not something I would normally reach for.

petrickdavid

Oh these cologne snobs drive me wild with their pretentious reviews! I like this scent. Smells like fresh air, a bit watery, nice citrus notes, a bit of masculinity in there but not too much. Light, fresh, like being on your boat in the sun. No flowers. I like it a lot and am impressed with the price. One of the rare mens fragrances with nothing to offend.

DaedalusX

This is my 5th purchase from the Salvatore Ferragamo house. So far all of them are pretty good and this one is one of my favourites, but it does have some small flaws, and I would just be nitpicking. This is fairly close to Salvatore Ferragamo Incanto Blue which for some reason isn’t in the database. I purchased that one blindly and hated it in the beginning, but after allowing it to breathe for a few weeks I ended up blowing through the entire bottle and then purchased another one shortly after. Being that the designer is obviously European, his take on aromatic freshies are unique and slightly underrated in my opinion, and this one hits all of the right notes to my nose. I’m not sure if the pyramid is correct but in the opening that lemon smell I get coming through is just beautiful, and to my nose it’s alot different than western colognes. Like most SF scents there is usually some spices mixed in with the sweet and floral components. There is a lot going on in this so the easiest way to finish my review is to say that if you like Salvatore Ferragamo F then I’m fairly sure you will love this. It’s not the exact same drydown, but it’s a little more green, with some added aquatic notes. It’s light and lasts a short amount of time unfortunately on my skin. I get about 3-4 hours with this stuff, and if I wear it on a hotter day, obviously I can stretch it by a few more hours. This is a solid 7.5/10 for me. It’s well above average and I have to add that I LOVE the mint and lemon leaf opening, and if if this lasted just a little longer I’d bump this up to an 8.5 easily.

Smellwise

Very good aquatic oceanic vibe.. on initial spray i do get the mint although not very prominent accompanied by a fresh aquatic and slightly salty smell.. the drydown has some vetiver and clean musk while still maintaining the aquatic nature.. a simple everyday office safe fragrance.. performance is moderate in all aspect.. not bad.. for the price its a very good value fragrance..

JodieAx

Well everything has been said, its light , fresh, watery, safe and clean.
My husband owns this and I love it. underrated indeed.
really suits the summer time and spring because of its soft freshness.
This is a safe blind buy especially for the price but even if it was more expensive than it is you can't go wrong. Great scent for working in a professional environment too because it will make you smell polished and pleasant with nothing offensive, strong or sexy.

AMajeedQT

Ooooh, this is nice!

Acqua Essenziale is a fresh spicy aquatic scent. So fresh & energetic!

It smells like a citrus zest, a hint of watermelon, & a minty water note mixed together.

Really fresh, really good. A people pleaser.

However, note that it's not a new, unique smell but it is without a doubt a lovely one.

Big like!

papparog

I'm not going to mental masturbate everything that's already been said but just say "I love this juice". So simple, so easy and so cheap. For the price you cannot find a better summer scent that stays just as long as several citrus topped summer juices. I have the Colonia and the Blu but this is my favorite.

Cajunscents

To me smelling it on myself it smelled like lighter Nautica Voyage, but after smelling it on my teenage son it allowed me to smell it without the olfactory fatigue. If you take Versace Pour homme, pull the citrus way back and replace it with the aquatic scent from Nautica Voyage, you get Acqua Essenziale. The blue scent from Voyage layered over the florals from VPH with a touch of it's citrus in the background.

wesleyhclark

Well, I liked the top-most citrus notes. They fairly sparkled. And then... it transitioned into the familiar stench of a blue scent on me. I do not have good luck with blue scents. One reviewer here called the drydown "rotten egg," and that's about as close as I can get to describing it. A lot of scents smell this way; it's a very common smell and it never works for me.

"This perfume reminds me of..." ...just about every other blue perfume.

pflyer85

This doesn't remind me much of Bleu de Chanel at all. What it actually reminds me of is a more herbal take on Givenchy Blue Label. This is a like but not a love fragrance for me. I predominately use it as a warmer weather office/work scent. IMO that is this fragrance's wheelhouse. It's versatile enough to wear casually but I think there are other options out there a bit more playful and vibrant. 7/10.

Sloth

Smells slightly different for about 15 minutes then turns into Bleu De Chanel (edt)
End of story.
Nice but I already have BDC.

Criglett Clussnum

This has Alberto Morillas written all over it. It's a bright sunny day and it's slightly sweet and aquatic, similar to Versace Pour Homme. If you're an Alberto Morillas fan like me you should try this and the flankers, Blu and Colonia. I give this a 8.9/10

aet

A nice warm weather fragrance. pleasant smelling and clean. I get those that compare it to an aquatic flanker of BDC because it does have that vibe BUT please, please do not think that it is a clone or a replacement for BDC. This is its own scent. I also have to agree that this has longevity issues, but certainly not abysmal - at least on my skin.

kaurg

Simplified version of Cool Water. Smells like you just took a shower and used a men's "sport" shower gel. Can't go wrong if you're looking for a casual daytime scent suitable for a work environment.

Probably not the first choice for night time leisure activities, dinner parties, date nights, etc., since it doesn't mix well with food and beverage smells and doesn't possess specifically sensual or seductive qualities.

At the same time, it is a very safe choice and could be a signature fragrance that you can apply and forget about. I just personally think that a natural citrus cologne type fragrance would cover all the bases a bit better than this clean sporty vibe.

I get mostly mint, lavender and clean musk. It doesn't have any cheap smelling accords or clashing notes that I'm aware of. I would prefer it to Platinum Egoiste price wise as well as smell wise -- Acqua Essentiale isn't nearly as metallic and harsh as PE.

I would also compare it to Versace Pour Homme, since they share a similar semi-sweet clean musk accord. VPH has more sweetness due to tonka bean and citruses, but Acqua Essentiale has more of that clean and cool feeling. The drydown of VPH also features quite a lot of floral sweet'n'sour notes that are nonexistent in Acqua Essentiale. Acqua Essentiale is more linear and retains it's "edge" better.

ccwicks

Very nice but you have to give it time to settle before the true smell to come out!!!!

Smellwise

Very nice so call generic fragrance.. i like it.. easy to wear n hard to dislike.. probably not for those fragrance enthusiast.. but for mere mortal its very pleasing.. i always use this in the morning after shower.. then go to work.. and top it off with versace pour homme during my lunch break.. the work well together.. i tried that with acqua essenziale colonia.. not working well..

What u get here is a fresh aquatic with a sweeter base.. moderate performance all around..

esteban747

I bought Acqua Essenziale without much hope. The name to me implies a cologne ( not the way American missuse the word but a real cologne). And I was nicely surprised.
No, it isn't groundbreaking and it won't create a vast mass of hardcore followers but it's such attractive, clean and simple fragrance.
If you like to mark your territory and presence with strong, obnoxious perfumes then Acqua Essenziale is not for you.
It's versatile, safe for work, after gym, dates, Zumba classes, grocery shopping, paragliding and church meetings.
But seriously, don't give it too much thought, take it as it is. A simple, light fragrance that will make you feel clean and understatedly classy.

Eau de Nikita

Addendum: They should've named this Aqua Irrelevant because it's not Essential at all. The bottle is nice though; I don't know where the Versace comparisons came from probably because of the bottle. These so-called "aqua" colognes have this 'spit' and stale cinnamon smell in the background that I hate. The only "Aqua" named cologne that I tried and loved so far was Azzaro Aqua which OF COURSE I have to go on a voyage and quest to find reasonably priced online

Eau de Nikita

Super generic. This was a huge disappointment for me as I had high hopes that this would be a Versace Signature Pour Homme clone but at a cheaper price. But *wonk womp wonnnk* Instead this is more like the Eternity Aqua body spray which I can't stand.

richmilton

This must be the weakest fragrance in my collection. I get that it's an aquatic and all, but come on, it barely lasts 30 minutes and becomes a skin scent within minutes. I thought it was nose fatigue but nobody else can smell it on me either just 30-60 minutes after application even when I spray my clothes. Too bad because I really love the scent reminds me a lot of Versace Pour Homme but way way weaker.

Spasticink

Very nice ADG alternative but the longevity and sillage are abysmal :(

Cassiano

Acqua Essenziale was conceived to become a signature fragrance that celebrates a man's real style, combining the essence - as the highest form of authenticity - and water - as the most natural element.
The official composition lists notes of grapefruit, mint, mandarin and lemon leaves at the top of the olfactory pyramid. They dive into a body with notes of geranium, rosemary, lavender, and Cascalone (Firmenich's compound, which confers ozonic and aldehyde smell, widely used in marine/aquatic fragrances and is commonly described as a "marine accord"). Finally, the base is woodier and contains notes of patchouli, vetiver, labdanum, and Helvetolide (Firmenich's compound, which gives a musky smell, sometimes with fruity nuances).

When touches the skin, Acqua Essenziale behaves like a typical fruity and marine blue scent, until some surprises happen. In fact, it is classified as aromatic-fougère, but I feel its evolution towards the aromatic-aquatic.
Right off the bat, the fruity nuances of grapefruit and mandarin are the most noticeable. Soon after, a sour facet appears, in the same style of petitgrain, thanks to the leaves of the lemon tree. And the mint also appears and brings an even more refreshing side, which begins to disguise the fruity nuances of before. Right in the early minutes, there is an evolution at the top of the olfactory pyramid, which is not something very common to feel like this, horizontally.

In the second evolutionary stage, the fragrance begins to behave in a more aromatic way, when the geranium brings a menthol aspect and the rosemary (known as the Sea Dew) results in herbal and fresh facets, bringing a green touch to a cologne that seems so blue.
Finally, the fragrance becomes denser, as if it were a wet wood, thanks to the mixture of patchouli and vetiver, in which all its woody content seems to have been dipped in a liquid musk. And the labdanum in this composition ends up giving a slightly sweet touch.

So far, we have a great fresh and masculine fragrance, with the typical signature of Alberto Morillas and satisfactory result. The great surprise lives in the fact that made me increase the text of this analysis, because I was forced to admit that I was mistaken, in a first impression, as reported below.

I got scared when I read countless comparisons between Acqua Essenziale and Bleu de Chanel (2010). In particular, I saw no resemblance and thought that perhaps people were referring to the Eau de Parfum version, which I do not know. And from what I saw, I was not the only one to disagree.

As I was wearing the fragrance, I decided to give in to curiosity and one day I decided to take a comparative test on my skin. And here's the truth: the fragrances are very distinct until both reach a same moment in the drydown. This happens after about an hour, when common notes result in similar accords and then, they really look alike. And as time passed, the more similar they became. The biggest difference is that Acqua Essenziale was not exhaling as much as Bleu, besides presenting a slightly more aquatic scent.

In this case, people were not lying and I understand, perfectly, when they referred to this perfume as an aquatic version of Bleu de Chanel EDT.
If this fragrance were in a bottle named Bleu Acqua, it would be quite convincing.

its.. ME!!

I'm a huge fan of an aqua aromatic parfume. But this one is fail me. For me, SF Acqua Essenziale is a lighter version of D&G Light Blue Pour Homme, but with a worst performance. It doesnt last even 1hr on my skin. Blah!
SF Acqua Essenziale Colonia is perform better than this and the BLU one.

rushrocker

This is a nice fragrance. Although I generally dislike heavy patchouli this one is tolerable.

The opening immediately reminds you of BDC minus the incense. This fades after just 30mins-1 hour and it becomes a creamy, fresh, aquatic, musky, sweet, patchouli scent that creates an effortless gentle cloud around you. No screeching notes here, this fragrance is as smooth as silk.

I agree that the performance is so-so. It's similar to most other aquatics that Alberto Morillas makes. They project for about an hour and then last as a skin scent for another 5-6 hours and then are probably not detectable by anyone around you. I enjoy this kind of performance. Powerhouse fragrances that blast out entire rooms and last 15 hours are not always my cup of tea.

Very nice indeed! Fresh, creamy, patchouli.

bilbobaggins8

I love this one. True story: 2-3 years ago I was in a department store and decided to check out cologne. I sampled a few and immediately was drawn to this and Gucci Guilty black. To this day they are two of my favorites. Very unique, clean, fresh scent from one of the lesser known Italian designers. I recommend their entire line except the Pronto Uomo which smells like coffee.

legion

can't believe they called this essenziale!

this is the opposite. Its absolutely generic aqua/ blue like a million others. It doesn't even project or last well. I can see the comparisons to nautica voyage but that one is more strange, synthetic and performs better.I had to review this straight away because I'm sure I will forget what this smells like.

On the flip side, its cheap and would make an ok present for someone who doesn't care too much about fragrances.

D-Bo

This is like Nautica Voyage with worse performance. I don't see the relevance of this one. I own it after a blind buy, but I'd suggest getting Voyage if you are into this one. It performs better and smells better IMO.

Also, this smells nothing like BdC. I own both and you'd have to be noseblind to think they are the same or even remotely similar.

Chicago Tony T

I have received quite a few compliments from this but I am not really that into it. I do like it,but don't see myself buying a full bottle. Morillas does these light fresh aquatic summer scents the best with this being no exception. I am hard to please and while I won't call this generic or anything it's surely not a masterpiece or anything.

Rorshach1004

Opens with lemony citrus, and settles into a fresh, sea-salty fragrance that is breezy, summery, very nice, very pleasant, relaxing, understated, and cool. Don't underestimate it. A The salty dry-down is very appealing indeed, and will work perfectly during the hot summer months.

OneRedRose

Fantastic scent!! Very reminiscent of Bleu de Chanel's dry down right off the bat, minus the rich powdery incense. On its own, Acqua Essenziale can pass off as Bleu de Chanel when smelling it in waft mode. :) I use Bleu on a more noteworthy occasion and use Acqua Essenziale when I want to save my Bleu. The price difference between the two is considerable..... buy Acqua Essenziale, smell great and few will know the difference. Both smell fantastic and fresh! And nothing but compliments from men and women. Two thumbs up!

Toogle

like tonic water mixed with herbs, realy juicy and fresh.
In my opn. perfect for late spring and summer.
And come on guys i am not a fan of BLEU and this little brother maybe is not unique but this one is much more warm-hearted, lovable and friendly.
Average non-aggressive sillage, good longevity.

GRAF

It's a super light scent and super weak. Nice but generic opening, very warety and fresh which lasts about 1 hour max. Then you must stick your nose on your skin to feel tiny traces of it. And after 15 minutes it's gone. Suitable for very high temperatures but you must carry it with you to repeat spraying.

Fabio Dondeo

Acqua Essenzially is light, peaceful, very diluted, subtle, slightly sweet, slightly fruity, undoubtly elegant. Almost impossible to bother people around with this perfume. I don't feel any detached note (spice, metallic, etc), everything is mixed in a way that the result is something homogeneous. While other famous aquatic scents go to the salty side, as Versace Man Eau Fraiche, this one goes to the sweet side. With moderate projection, it's an original scent, but a little shy.

Smellinggoodislife

Actually a very nice scent. I had this up into a year ago. After smelling 6 different scents from Ferragamo, I decided on this one a few years back, Ferragamo has a much stronger women's line than a men's line. I thought this was one of his 2 best. I probably won't end up buying this scent again though as longevity was way too short lived...

Sooo fresh and watery...
In me, its so minty citrus opening..then...its a bit powdery and less citrus, just the freshness like the wind on the ocean.

some more brand got similar scent, a bit difficult if you want to be noted differently....
a type of safe scent anytime to wear...and a safe blindbuy

short longevity and moderate silage n projection.

SimplyRavishing1

IMO Acqua Essenziale smells EXACTLY like a Snow-cone...
If you let a Red, White & Blue Snow-cone melt it will turn
into that Purple colored liquid, that is EXACTLY what
Salvatore Ferragamo's Acqua Essenziale smells like...

Scent 10 out of 10
Sillage 5 out of 10
Longevity 5 out of 10

I get 3-4 Hours of Moderate Projection, however the scent is
so unique in the best way possible, nothing smells like
Acqua Essenziale. Slightly Minty, Sweet, Pleasant &
In-Offensive. An Excellent Summer Fragrance &
easily My favorite of All 3 in the SF Acqua Essenziale Line...

Acqua Ezzenziale Colonia is also a Great Citrus/Neroli
Spring & Summer Fragrance...

IMO Acqua Essenziale BLU is a nice scent however is the least aquatic & is teeming with Lavender & other NON-Aquatic notes in the forefront...

erha69

Smell fresh, like after shower. It reminds me of Armani Acqua Di Gio. It is very suitable during summer or hot season in outdoor. Just spray perfume on your chest and then you ride a motorcycle, then you will enjoy the sensation of the freshness.

Satyajeet73

I really like this one. Very fresh and clean and aquatic. It's a pleasant scent and totally inoffensive. Great for summer days.

Floffles

This is very zesty. The mint is definitely very prominent. A little too zinger for my taste

John Wayne 86

I get mint, lemon and water. A nice fresh scent.

ChrisSmellsGood

This has really grown on me and I have been wearing it to work every day for the past few weeks. Its cheap, but doesnt smell cheap. Its a nice somewhat sweet and musky ocean breeze type scent. I just love it.
I disagree with the last review regarding performance. 2 sprays - each side of the neck, and then tap your wrists on your neck right after. Lasts ALL DAY in the areas I apply it to. I am actually very IMPRESSED with the great performance! Though I guess its different for everyone.

JAYMZDEEN

A really nice cheap fresh/aquatic ... This is the best of them .. Colonia is also very nice... Blu is just awful in my opinion. Stick to this and Colonia and you ll be doing yourself a favor!! 7/10 for the scent... The performance is underwhelming... But its cheap enough to just keep spritzing it every couple/few hours. INDULGE!

sanjayrulz

Great cologne, very masquline, and fresh. You wont go wrong with this

Marine notes, mint, and lavender with a hint of lemon in it. This is an underrated little fragrance, an aquatic, herb gem. I just bought this and while it's nothing revolutionary, it's a good balanced scent. It has a fresh spicy but clean scent. The musk, vetiver, and patchouli give this some complexity and depth. It's performance appears to be solid, esp for an aquatic. I do get the comparisons to BDC but this is more casual but not impolite or immature. I got it in a gift set for under 30. It came with a shower gel and after shave. What a good deal. I give it a 4/5 for scent and performance. This could cost more under a different house and it'd be selling like $5 any foot longs at subway.

Saru21

I can see where the Bleu the Chanel comparisons are coming from. While BDC feels more dense and dark, Essenziale is more airy and light. Essenziale also opens up with mint rather than citrus, and feels overall more "greener" than what I'd expect from an aquatic. I'm even getting a tea bag scent somewhere within it. Essenziale feels like a nice casual scent fitting for the Spring and Summer. It lasts about 5 to 6 hours, but projects the most with the first 2 hours and can garner some positive attention.

the1picard

This reminds me of a less spicy, less dense Bleu De Chanel. The performance of Acqua Essenziale doesn't compete with Bleu but for 12.99 at Marshall's this is a decent scent.

fisken23

A really fresh version of Bleu De Chanel. Good longevity, desent sillage.
Buy this guys, you wont be sorry. Safe blind buy.

iwhiffwaft

Smells similar to Belu De Chanel. Doesn't skimp on quality. This is the deal for anyone who wants to have an Aquatic. For the money, this is the best thing out there in this genre. Look at who made this stuff....the nose behind it. How on earth this stuff isn't crazy priced high is driving me nuts. I guess Ferrigamo's marketing dept lead needs to be fired. This stuff is crazy awesome for this style and should be selling like hotcakes. I'm not extremely into aquatics and prefer the colonia because its my style, but this stuff is one of the better aquatics I own. It's a more fresh Bleu De Chanel.really. I hate making such a close comparison though because it makes it sound like a copy and its not. The stuff I have that this compares to is Success by Trump, Nautica Voyage, Bleu De Chanel, Acqua Di Gio, and Perry Ellis Red. It leans more towards the Nautica Voyage, Success, Bleu De Chanel aqua type, but it is a bit more ready for high heat than those. I'd chose this over those here in the Summer of Texas as I think it would be less cloying. One of the best Aquatics on the market. .......have no idea why it is selling at marshall's for 12 bucks. Crazy.

Bigsly

The "fresh" and aquatic elements here are just too strong - I have little doubt I'm very sensitive to these aroma chemicals. It smells "nice" but not at all what I think of as a "personal fragrance." In fact I'd almost call this an impersonal fragrance! I certainly understand the appeal, especially for the office, school, etc. for warm weather, but I would have no issue swapping off my bottle ASAP!

alabangcute

it's kind of a common scent. nothing new or unique. i got a 15ml purse spray for testing from my favorite perfume consultant at a department store. glad i did not buy the whole bottle. lol.

lou6

light fragrance, great if you are a little bit shy ;)
perfect for the summer days comming
YES, this fragrance is simmilar to Bleu de Chanel (mint, vetiver, patchouli and labdanum) with aquatic feel blended with lavender .
I get 6 hours with fair projection
Great for work, office, casual wearing and dates at day
not sure if its strong enough for night time, but anyway,I'll use it for hanging out with friends
Do I recommend it? Yes, good compliments getter

Acqua Essenziale is wonderful juice. Highly underrated much as a lot of Ferragamo frags are. I have a small bottle that I purchased at Marshall's for $10. I'd pay $10/ounce for this without blinking. This is a bright airy aquatic. The note pyramid does not indicate citrus, but I smell a citric accord. Wonderfully simple aquatic.

Testament: bought a second bottle.Second bottle at TJMaxx For $15.

Raproid

Rerik, are you sure you weren't talking about Acqua Essenziale Colonia? It's another scent containing citrus notes. This one, however, does not, which leads to certain doubts if your commentary isn't misplaced.

OdorMiris

Tested this today in Macy's...what a delightful fragrance that thus far, is working perfectly here in the ridiculous humidity of South Florida! Nothing truly works well here as the temp/humidity changes constantly....Not a huge fan of anything with a major marine note, but his is quite different...The Lavendar note is beautifully prominant and marries well with the sea note...I am taken back in time, someplace, somewhere that for the life of me, is not recognizable yet pleasurable....This is a keeper that will be added to my wardrobe. Molte grazie Salvatore!

jardinedavies

love this scent..

SebastianPDX

I bought this scent because I was living in Fort Lauderdale, it paired well with the weather there. However, I've just relocated to Portland, Oregon and the scent seems a little overpowering. No matter how little I put on I seem to "taste it" for quite a bit longer. Maybe because the weather is damper, cooler? Or am I just being silly? I don't think it smells anything like Aqua di Gio though. I used to love soapy scents when I lived in New York. Then more citrusy scents in South Florida. This was a nice break from those two patterns. Should I just make it my own in? I hate getting attached & having to start over again with scent...

AtticusFinch

I blind-bought a full bottle of this based on a "Best New Summer Cologne" list on Men's Journal website. But when I first tried Acqua Essenziale, it barely registered with me. In fact, I thought it was weak, and that I had wasted my money. But as fate would have it, I came back to it a little more than a month later and gave it a few more tries. Maybe it was the hotter temperatures of the summer, or perhaps it was a change in how I applied the cologne. Whatever the reason, things turned out markedly better. To me, the bottom notes work together very nicely, and for a good while. So, I'm glad I gave this frag a second chance.

omid-am

wonderful i love it iam happy to have it sillage and longevity both are perfect and very good

Smelly old man

One of the better summer fragrances around and with no sign of any citrus maybe that's why longevity was great with at least 8- 9 hrs on me I find that hard with any citrus based fragrance , very fresh and invigorating with a cooling effect on your skin, perfect for those hot days ahead

perfume243

Chenel blue vs acqua Essenziale los do juntos en una misma noche RICOOOOO. ELEGANTE Y AFRUTADO.

Buysblind

This is why I really like Acqua Essenziale: It smells very similar to Bleu but is better suited for the summer, and it completely lacks that rough, caustic synthetic note that pops up in Bleu's opening. It also features a beautiful, watery texture that emanates from its heart, similar to that found it Acqua di Gio. For a summer fragrance, I prefer this quality over Bleu's denser incense-based heart, which at times can feel heavy and unnecessarily complicated. I'm not saying that this is better than Bleu, because I believe Bleu has more depth, complexity, and development than Essenziale, but it is a very nice, incense-less version of "Bleu Light," and has actually managed to take Bleu's one major flaw (the scratchy, harsh opening) and fixed it in favor of a cool, sweet aromatic top that is immediately appealing and pleasant. It also holds pretty well and projects at what I think is the perfect level--not too strong but more than adequate. This is a great choice for a hot day and pretty much suitable for anyone. With so many aquatics out there, it's sometimes difficult to separate the good from the bad and mediocre. Acqua Essenziale certainly deserves a place among "the good."

Thumbs up.

invaderlark

This is a first impressions review so take it with a grain of salt; I feel like this is a combo of Yves Saint Laurent's L'homme Libre and Chanel's Bleu De Chanel. This fragrance, and the ones mentioned above, are pretty "blue" smelling. I'm getting upfront a lot of the mint, vetiver, and sea notes. I'm surprised there isn't violet leaf in this. My family doesn't like it even though they love Bleu De Chanel. I'll update on longevity and projection later on with a full review. It also reminds me of an aquatic Roadster by Cartier.

Raidersteveo

I am surprised I have not reviewed this one yet mainly because it's my signature scent. The reason it became my signature is because it is one of only two or three in my collection that is absolutely intoxicating. I can't get enough of it. There is something about the blending of the mint, lavender, and water notes that becomes something of a catnip for me. I can't offer you a more complex analysis other than that I am afraid. In layman's terms is just freakin' good!

The sillage is at least moderate if not slightly better and the longevity is better than average.

This is yet another well done Alberto Morillas creation.

So many good summer scents too choose from this one is a definite buy on pay day just from testing it out in the store I can kind of tell that this fragrance most likely has good longevity and sillage I got the approval from my girl she likes it but that's not a surprise cause she likes bleu de Chanel which smells a little similar to this

nicholassua

this is a very reasonable alternative for Acqua Di Giò <3

This is a sexxy secret.....
Bleu De Chanel is mainstream which is fine if you like to smell like everyone all over the world. Bleu smells much more generic than this one. This Aqua is in it's own special class I believe.......
Shhhhhh don't tell anyone about this product.....

I'm sniffing around for some new summer fragrances already and this is one that had got away... until now. Very pleasant indeed, aquatic but not just a lightweight burst of alcohol and citrus with little character remaining after, Acqua Essenziale has more substance than that. I get a fresh, sparkling clean accord of lemon leaf and labdanum and sharp grapefruit in the top notes with a hint of lavender too. I can't say I got the mint but it definitely has a cool quality, temperature wise. I get the comparisons to Silver Shadow Altitude and Bleu de Chanel but it's by no means the same kinda reminds me of LOTS of fragrances citrus/marine/fruit/musk/vetiver you get the picture.
I can't justify adding this fragrance to my collection as it just falls short on the imagination stakes but I wouldn't blame anyone for getting this and wearing it regularly because it smells good.

This is just a safer, remixed version of Ocean Wet Wood (also Morillas' creation). It's got some sweetness in the background but isn't bold enough to stand above other mellow aquatics. Solid scent -- some people will like this one -- but if you are spending time on this site then you probably already own something as good or better.

Acqua Essenziale is, as others have noted, a typical acquatic. The opening notes are lemon and basil and smell virtually indistinguishable from Ermenegildo Zegna's Acqua d'Estate Essenza 2007 version, with perhaps a bit more lavender.

The heart of the fragrance is basically lavendar and acquatic notes and it just slowly disappears from here. Sillage and longevity are what you would expect.

I do agree with those who have said this is a bit of white noise, but it's still nice nonetheless. I wouldn't purchase this myself, but it's a nice acquatic if that's something you'd like to have.

srt33

run of the mill aquatic designer. aquatic elements are the highlight, but there is some mint at the top. there is also a good amount of lavender, which seems to be in every other fragrance, unfortunately for me. a lot of comments say this is nearly identical to Bleu de Chanel, which I don't get at all, especially with no citrus.

lalelu

cut up a grapefruit and put mint leaves in it, then close the grapefruit again. the result is the smell of this one. perfect for spring and summer. hardcore projection the first 2 hours but after that it dies down very fast so i suggest carryieng a decant around ..

nicholassua

this Essenziale's base note is very identical to its former Attimo, but it's more SEA SCENT. love it, not so unique, casual wear

Sporek

this fragrance is identical to discontinued esprit connect for him. Belive me, i've got both.

This is not like Acqua Di gio in any form, how do you smell that? i believe it's more of a mix between Cool water and Silver Shadow Altitude, bottom line is, if you make any one guess how old is this perfume by just smelling, they would definitely say, it's early 2000's>

It's beyond me why would someone make such a perfume today? the CK Be smells even more modern than this.

It's not a bad scent by any mean, it's just old for today.

impala45

If you're looking for a really nice summer fragrance but don't want to go the Acqua di Gio route, then Ferragamo's Acqua Essenziale is a fantastic alternative. Inoffensive, appealing, light, very enjoyable, far more interesting than the boringly linear and viciously priced Chanel Bleu and much less common than Acqua di Gio. Highly recommended.

Like Bleu de Chanel!

블루드샤넬과 향이 비슷하고
샤넬보다 좀 더 진한 느낌?

bimmer1

I enjoy this one. I also see the similarities between Acqua Essenziale and Bleu de Chanel. If you like Acqua Essenziale check out the new Zegna Uomo---- also very, very similar.

siddiquewallace

this is a truly a safe buy perfume for summer for men especially who don't like strong scents.

silage is impressive as well as longevity..tried it yesterday at my office and every one went nuts

i think its in the category of versace man eau fraiche,ck eternity aqua, boss pure, chopard homme and dunhill pure but i think it is much better

this is a casual scent to me tho..

sergioblu

Dura poco e si sente poco e costa troppo

alireza1354

فوق العاده خوشبو و مناسب برای تابستون . بوی خنک و تازگی محشری داره . ممنون از فرگامو

carera

its nice fresh summer not break through perfumes industrey in the same time the quality of this very high that i appricate .

nattonline

Pretty nice, mellow, and sweet for aquatic summer type of scent. It has a hint of wood but the floral accord is more dominant, making it slightly androgynous or could appeal to opposite sex. I would slot this right in between Givenchy Play Sport, Hugo Boss Element, Davidoff Silver Shadow Altitude, Bandaras Blue Seduction, and anything else out there the has the same blue hue.

MrMookie

I used a sample today.
As i love Alberts work in CK one, Acqua di Gio and his outstanding Lanvin Homme i find his later fragrances pretty generic and dull for example this one.
Its fresh, minty, aquatic and sunny, its OK but thats it. It is OK... I dont love OK fragrances they dont give me that motivation to buy it.
The Lavender is pretty tucked away as im not smelling it (blendup with mint)

Pretty safe buy for a present & longer lasting then other aquatic

Ivano

It has a nice and original citrusy opening, but after that it becomes a salty/minty fragrance, pretty sweet because of the lavender. I would define this scent as Breezy/Airy. It's like a light veil, a salty breeze, something very relaxing and elegantly understated. It's a subtle fragrance after a couple of hours in terms of sillage and has medium longevity on my skin. Excellent summer fragrance in my opinion.

nonsisa

After SF pour homme and the F line; pretty generic stuff here.

I'd take YSL's libre before I'd get this one.

It's not bad but also it isn't something special.

Topnotes I get are: Aqua, lavender, labdanum and geranium.

Morillas you've done better than that.

Michael1962

smelt this one in David Jones, extremely citrusy generic..nothing special.next!

lovetribe

Troppo banale come fragranza.
Molto persistente ma nulla di nuovo.

RUDOLFO512

I just got this fragrance in the mail yesterday. This is my second Salvatore Ferragamo fragrance and I love it. I can really smell the violet and mint. I love the opening, it is fresh and summery. I am going to take this fragrance (for day wear) on my trip to Europe in two weeks.

kazewayz

Very well done summer fragrance. It's fresh, sweet, clean, fruity and breezy. It stays on for a long time. Try it.

thinkon4Mac

I got a sample of this in a magazine and had one of the worst allergic reactions to anything I have ever had. Swelling of the eyes- tightness of the chest- coughing- sneezing- coughing up crud- itchy skin and that was an hour ago- my skin is still itchy and my lungs still have congestion. Just what kind of toxic poison do they put in this kind of stuff?- I didn't even touch the page or sample and my wife is having reactions too. This should be outlawed. seriously if it happens to me and I rarly get allergic reations I imagine it could put someone in anaphylactic shock.

antonpan

Bought this today to replace the bottle of Bleu de Chanel. Acqua is nothing less than a 90% copy of Bleu. The Chanel fragrance is extremely popular all over the world hence the attack of the clones was a matter of time.

Acqua imitates Bleu in every aspect virtually, from the citrusy opening to minty green dry down, being a bit less opulent and more linear. The sillage and longevity are both above average. A well done (and cheaper!) alternative!

By the way Acqua Essenziale to Bleu is the same thing as Versace Pour Homme to Allure Homme Sport. Both are created by Alberto Morillas.

bwcw81

Acqua de Gamo! in Aqua flooding market now.
2nd coming up flanker: Acqua de Gamo Sport!
Then each flanker come with each Intense version soon after that! Market gimmick strategy nowadays....
Please give us something new!
