This bottle genuinely reminds me of traveling in Tahiti and the floral smell of that fresh air. For the value, it’s a beautiful floral perfume.

Amethyst23

This is a slightly creamy true to life gardenia. I use it as a cheap linear floral for layering. It competes with higher end gardenias and has surprising longevity compared to the other Pacifica fragrances.

Tanya Elaine

Really pretty Summer fragrance! I find myself reaching for this on casual occasions. I find it comforting and uplifting. It's a sensual fragrance, evocative of tropical vacations.

ghostchai

Such a lovely, sweet, crowd-pleasing gardenia scent. Floral, but backed up with creamy sweetness. I'm SO confused about the people getting "granny" from this scent, although maybe it's because I have the body mist and not the EDP. While it's a scent I like wearing, I would also feel perfectly comfortable letting my 10-year-old cousin have it if I ever got tired of it - it's that sweet and youthful. I'm a big jasmine lover, but I do understand people who are averse to floral scents and the ammonia-like smell it can sour to on some people. This is not one of those scents I see people being averse to. Overall, it's an easy scent for everyday/rushing out the door. I've gotten compliments just wearing it alone without layering a more complex perfume. The creaminess and sweetness are beautiful if you don't like the sharpness of florals but are still wanting a floral for some reason.

rosalea

I love this!!! It's a somewhat complex gardenia/jasmine scent, with slight floral and green notes. I really love it and am so perplexed as to how some people find it smells 'granny' ish!

Caroline D.

To me this smells nice (it has a good balance between fresh and floral) but ... incredibly dated. The scent itself is growing on me but no way am I wearing this.

cstuff

I think this is hit or miss for some people so obvi it is polarizing. I actually really enjoyed it, I can smell all the notes in it for sure. If you're looking for something inexpensive, like I was at the time, just make sure you enjoy sweet scents that read more juicy/citrusy at first and then settle into the florals.

Kenyamichel

Most Revolting fragrance I’ve smelled, Smells like Granny! Also very Nauseating. I’m mad I fell for the good reviews. Just bad!

Colett

Bought it because of the reviews. And for the first it was really smells nice but since then I can smell something geil sweet in it cause nausea

smile4thecamera

If you love bargains and gardenias, this one is for you. It opens with greenish gardenias and turns creamy about 10 minutes in. A very well blended and lovely scent. I'm wearing it on a finally coolish fall day and it's perfect. Lasts a long time, and is super affordable. The whole Pacifica line has changed over the years with this gardenia scent still hanging in there from their former line-up. I don't think their newer scents are that great honestly, but this one is a keeper.

Nightglow

I've tried many gardenia scents, and this is the only one that hits the mark as a true gardenia smell: creamy, soft, and not synthetic. Using it with the lotion and hair perfume makes it last even longer.

fruity_iykwim

this is not a fragrance that speaks to me, but it is well done. it's a simple white floral with green notes. probably not a "true" gardenia as it's hard to perfume, but a nice interpretation. very office safe. pacifica describes it as a "vintage" scent and I totally agree.

I have the body mist and probably won't pick up the EDP, but this is really nice if you're looking for a staple white floral!

CatCo

Same as white gardenia petals , illuminum

alphairone

Truth be told, I've almost always been impressed with Pacifica. They are extremely affordable, deliver their promise, and smell surprisingly balanced. For something that can be bought at Whole Foods or Target, their fragrances often can rival many similar scents that charge nearly ten times the price. Tahitian Gardenia is no exception: its refreshing, breezy, tropical quality opens with citrus and aromatics, ushering in an agreeable gardenia accord. It's neither sweet nor sharp and hits the spot.

SashaWasha

I love when I pass a tree and smell fresh gardenia flowers in the breeze. I've smelled many gardenia fragrances and they've all been expensive. This is so affordable and knocks them all out of the water! My absolute favorite gardenia fragrance of all time. It's the gardenia trees that I love, the same breeze, but on a tropical beach. I always get so many compliments when I wear this, especially when I pair it with Pacifica's Island Vanilla or the Tahitian Gardenia body lotion. The best thing is that it doesn't smell synthetic at all. It doesn't smell like a cheap perfume nor does it perform like one. This is a forever fragrance for me.

CatOwned

This actually has pretty good longevity. I took a several month break from this fragrance so maybe my nose stopped being used to it? I sprayed it 7 hours ago, and can still smell it on me.

LeSucreRose

This is sharper and more citrusy than the classic gardenia perfumes, but that’s what I was looking for to wear during the deep South Texas summers. It is fleeting though, so I will definitely be layering this with a gardenia scented lotion.

jashleysoto_11

This perfume has ZERO longetivity, but it does smell nice. It reminds me of a tropical vacation. It's very bright, fresh, and rejuvenating.

Vicschmidtscents

Creamy, warm, and fresh tropical floral. I smell lots of jasmine and gardenia, and the orange gives it a bright sweet&juicy freshness. I loved it at first sniff! This one lasts forever on me and it is under $25 at Target.

In general, the Pacifica perfumes are awesome. I prefer some of these over my most expensive bottles!

mugler defender 🤺

Very lovely, non-offensive, white floral scent. Pretty Versatile, but definitely for day time.

AdalynEverly

For the price point, and it being sold it target. This is the best white floral for your buck. I can see why people don't like the title and it being called Tahitian gardenia. I can understand that it doesn't exactly smell like gardenia. However, what I think the creator is doing is that I think the perfume is suppose to smell like the Tiare flower, and much less like an actual gardenia. This wonderful perfume makes me actually want to smell similar perfumes that are suppose to smell like Tiare flower. The only con I have for this perfume smells a little bit too indolic, and sharp with nothing to calm down the indole in this perfume.

vnoxnoctis

this is a solid floral! i don't love florals but i bought some pacifica rollerballs before i knew what i liked in a fragrance. it's a very crisp frag that smells clean and fresh, but it's a little too sharp for me. it's not my kind of scent but it's classy and a good fragrance fs. it's a rollerball so the throw is very average, but this has surprisingly good longevity for a fresh scent.

edit: this grows on me more and more every time i wear it. the drydown of this has a creaminess/milkiness that's just so soothing and cozy, but still fresh. think cold whipped cream rather than sticky condensed milk. i cannot get enough of this <3 i have no idea what notes give it that creaminess, but the drydown of this is the closest i've found to a true milky frag that doesn't pull weird or sour or overly sweet or anything. perfection.

funeralparty

Tahitian Gardenia was my signature scent for most of high school and I still have a soft spot for it. This is a creamy, summery white floral with just a hint of citrus that is barely noticeable yet enjoyable. It performed really well in the heat and it was my go-to on a lot of vacations. Unfortunately I’m almost out of my original bottle and putting off using up the last couple sprays… I need to order a new one soon. My only complaint is that I think the gardenia note listed on here are a little misleading… the tahitian gardenia is actually the tiare flower which is a more tropical plant. I would say traditional gardenia is a little more earthy and “spring-y” than this.

bunniebeanies

so good. it smells fresh and floral without the sweetness that's so often added to floral scents.

CatOwned

This smells absolutely beautiful! One of my favorite florals.

onlythesun321

Also, smells similar to Florence from Tocca-- a little less refined, but pretty good quality and better longevity imo. So if you like Florence, try this.

onlythesun321

Nice, creamy white floral. Simple but elegant. It's not super well blended, and I really wish I could smell the tea/green notes a little more, but it's great for what it is. I got a rollerball for super cheap and it's the perfect size to throw in your purse. The opening is a little chemical-y, but the dry down is really pretty.

RegalKitten

I'm a little sad to give this a poor rating because the scent itself is lovely but I was so disappointed to find that after some time on the skin, or worse, on fabric, the scent breaks down into something chemical/synthetic-smelling. Otherwise this may well have been my favourite out of the four Pacifica fragrances I'm familiar with (Island Vanilla, French Lilac, Tuscan Blood Orange, and this).

Laurall

It smells completely floral on me and strong. I wish the orange and tea came through more. It smells really good but I'd rather smell it on someone else. It's not my type.

violet violin

Very lovely, true Tahitian gardenia scent. Tahitian gardenia is actually tiare flower, which is what gives this a summer, beachy vibe more than straight magnolia does.
While there are other notes listed, this is almost a soliflore. You get mostly just tiare, but something is warming it up. Maybe the orange blossom?
It’s very long lasting and excellent sillage, you can definitely over apply this. A little goes a long way. I really only feel comfortable wearing this in the summer months. If I’m craving a little summer when it’s cold out I may put it on to lift my mood, but I wouldn’t go out and about wearing it when it’s cold. It just doesn’t fit. But to each their own! It’s a lovely scent and one can snd should wear it whenever they like 😉.

Anamandy

I haven’t tried this perfume but reading through the comments about how many people keep saying this isn’t a gardenia scent seem not to realize that Tahitian gardenia is actually the tiare flower. That’s what’s known as gardenia throughout the Tahitian islands.

According to many plant encyclopedias (too many to list here but they all use practically the same wording):

“The Tahitian gardenia, also known as the Gardenia taitensis, or by its original Tahitian name of tiare mā’ohi, is the national flower of The Islands of Tahiti. Most commonly referred to as the Tahitian tiare flower, this type of gardenia has become a staple in Tahitian culture.”

So those who say it is not a true gardenia are correct, as are those who say they smell tiare, because Tahitian gardenia is actually tiare. Hopes this clears up some of the confusion here.

jreyes366

This little baby packs a punch! Gardenia for days, and it's bright. I love this so much, it is just a great budget Gardenia!

okamikiera

I think I’m too into fragrance when I can sense the components of an accord-- this is a rough sketch of a gardenia made up of fruits, grasses and indoles. Falls quite short of the real thing. It’s still fresh and pleasant, but their Lilac scent delivers a more convincing and well-blended soft floral.

melpomeni

This perfume is quite potent, a callback to the older days of Pacifica's perfumes that do not hold back. It is unabashedly white floral from the get-go, but I don't know if I'd call it gardenia. Another review harkened to the tiare flower, and I'd have to agree. If you love a strong flowery fragrance I'd recommend this but it isn't a typical tropical or beach-like scent in my opinion: typically with such perfumes you get some sort of secondary or tertiary note to help define it as such (like coconut, or an aquatic note), but not here. Just...flowers.

Chatnoir

My great-grandma grew gardenias in her backyard, and smelling this scent from Pacifica takes me right back to those creamy blossoms and glossy leaves. There is an overwhelming intensity to most gardenia-based perfumes that this version lacks. It is not overpowering or perfum-y- it really smells like the delicate blossoms. There is a fresh greenness to the scent, as well as a creaminess that I adore. My only issue is that it doesn't last long on my skin, which is a great shame.

JenPin5

Soft and mellow without being heavy. This is a perfume for a Sunday afternoon nap or a quiet evening at home when the only one you care to please is yourself. Don’t come expecting niche perfume complexity and genius and you won’t be disappointed.

stacia79

Tahitian Gardenia is a nice affordable option among the many gardenia perfumes currently on the market. If you like Marc Jacobs, Tocca Florence, Jovan Island Gardenia, Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia, etc. then you will also like this. Pacifica's gardenia soliflore is a soft mellow creamy gardenia. Perfect for hot weather, there is the tiniest hint of jasmine that blooms underneath the composition but the heart is pure gardenia lotion on a body wearing a summer dress. This gives me a calm nurturing mood.

LSAUG

This has no gardenia in it. Gardenia scent can not be extracted from the gardenia flower so perfumers recreate the smell of gardenia using slight of hand. Sometimes w/ orange blossom, tuberose, jasmine, tiare flower, ylang, ylang and citrus notes. This one is very strong so a little goes a long way.

DahliaFragrance

Warning - there’s no discernible floral in this perfume, forget about gardenia. I ordered it in 2019 and upon initial spray it smelled like orange with black tea. A very syrupy dark orange marmalade with a black astringent tea note. And I bought both the perfume and body lotion and both smelled that way for an entire year. Sprayed it again and again hoping the gardenia or some flower would peak through but nope, very linear black tea with clementine. I ended up using the perfume as room spray...will not repurchase as I like flowery scents like the French lilac perfume. It’s not technically a “bad” smell, it just turns into a boring clementine scent although it can also be interpreted as a halls cough drop orange smell with a gentle bitterness. I’m not sure if previous formulations had a noticeable gardenia note??

Lovaloo

I expected gardenia. Where's the gardenia? This perfume is... an overripe melon, white floral type of fragrance.

Gardenia is a white floral with vegetal, mushroom-y touches, it doesn't become fruity. There. Is. No. Gardenia. In. This. Fragrance. I googled "tahitian gardenia" and I found... Tiare flower? "Tiare flower: A white floral note, creamy, fruity and indolic."

Bam. Everything makes sense now. I thought this was a melon-y, indolic tuberose fragrance masquerading as gardenia. Tahitian gardenia = tiare flower. I am so glad I learned this sooner rather than later. The more you know. As previously pointed out by melia, the proof is in the packaging. The flowers adorning the bottle and the box resemble tiare, not gardenia.

Not a bad perfume at all, it's rather pretty, it's just not what I was hoping for. Someone, whoever is able, should update the note breakdown to more accurately reflect the nature of this fragrance.

danygurl06

This was my first perfume that I actually liked with overt florals. I mainly smell gardenia and tea with a fresh sweetness on my skin. The hand lotion that is now discontinued smelled even better and gave a creamy lotion vibe.

This gardenia is not creamy at all. It last for quite a while but the tea and sweet orange die off at the dry down.

I thought that I wanted something a bit more sweet and creamy, so I tried other gardenia and tuberose fragrances. Im going to be honest, my nose can barely tell the difference between tuberose vs gardenia dominate fragrances. So I tried, things like Aerin Hibiscus Palm, Amouage Love Tuberose, and Tom Ford Orchid Soleil to name a few. I found that the creaminess was too creamy or the sweetness was too sweet.

Pacifica Tahitian Gardenia is a very fresh gardenia. That’s it’s strong point. I’d love for the tea note to stick around for a little longer, but beyond that it, I really like it.

Also, I think pacifica roller balls are worthless. For some reason you really can’t smell them that well. I do notice that TJ Maxx sometimes carry Pacifica gift sets. So you may be able to pick up a bottle for less than the roller ball without shopping online.

alatchka

To kyl77...You can buy a 1 oz full size bottle with free shipping on eBay for $14.99 which is a much better deal than $12 for the roller ball. My advise is always go to eBay first. You probably bought your roller ball at Target, right?
I too, love this scent. When I don't want to dip into my Versace Blonde or EL Tuberose Gardenia, I will reach for this and spray with abandon!
I get your Dorothy Lamour reference (loving classic golden age films...my mom worked as Bob Hope's private gourmet chef in the 80s). And I didn't think anything you said was racist. It's history and as hard as some people want to change it, it remains. Don't apologize for telling a fact.

kyl77

This is just so beautiful. All I smell is gardenia and a little bit of jasmine, but it smells very natural. It sits close to my skin but lasts for hours. I bought the $12.00 dollar roller ball, which is more than affordable. This perfume line is also completely vegan and cruelty free.

Another great thing about this perfume is that it makes me feel like I'm Dorothy Lamour in one of The Road Pictures with Bing Crosby and Bob Hope back in the 1940's. In case you're not familiar with the pictures, she always played some type of island girl running around in a sarong with a flower in her hair. Very racist I know! But she did look great, and I can just imagine her wearing this tropical perfume. This is super feminine, and will make your want to wear a flower in your hair too.

oubliette

This is one my favourite scents from Pacifica! It's a fresh, bright, tropical gardenia scent that is perfect for summer.

style1015

My favorite scent from the Pacifica line. A sharp burst of gardenia and jasmine. There's nothing real creamy or soft about it at all, but it's stunning none the less. I see a lot of people describing it as creamy but for me it's a scent that's right at the front of the nose, almost peppery. The sweet orange comes in more during the dry down and the tea leaf is just there to subtly round it out and give some balance. It dries down so it's not quite as sharp as the initial spray, but that gardenia is still definitely front and center.

Probably not for everyone, but for the price and the availability of samples at drug stores I definitely recommend sampling it.

I think it would be perfect for a tropical vacation, as the sharpness makes it perfect to wear in the hot/humid weather.

rosegoldrosie

This is nice! I had a family friend from Fiji come to live with me when I was a child, and this scent reminds me of how she used to smell (I think it was her hairspray or body spray that smelt like this, but this perfume really brought back so many memories). It's a really lovely Gardenia/white floral, but it's very beachy and tropical too. I had the mist version which unfortunately made me sneeze, but I passed it along to a friend and she LOVED it. Very tropical island-esque and white florals, it smells quite "green" and very fresh, almost like an Asian inspired scent. The bonus is Pacifica is all vegan and chemical free. :)

CherriedEmpress

As someone who was never too fond of gardenia, and, in some cases, even loathed it, Tahitian Gardenia is very pretty. It is fresh, modern, and sparkling gardenia with some citrus and tea leaf in supporting roles. I am impressed with how much I like this. The initial blast is indeed a "blast", but it's not stuffy or overwhelming.

Tahitian Gardenia truly does make me think of a tropical beach.

I did not find any candied sweetness in this fragrance — it is simply fresh and floral.

I have been enamored with white florals lately, and this is one of the more realistic white floral fragrances I have come across in many months. On my want list for sure.

srimati

I have the Gardenia by Jovan and Forever Florals and some Hawaiian brands which mimic gardenia but are very linear. I stopped my search for this timeless fragrance of gardenia when I smelled Pacifica's Tahitian Gardenia which is much more well-rounded and certainly easier to get without having to worry if the other bottles have been sitting around for years and are now rancid.I don't want to pay the Chanel price tag for gardenia and I'm not so much looking for a "blend". Finally a gardenia I'm happy with!

UnearthlyApothecary

I often really dislike the modern mainstream Gardenia compositions. They smell soapy, artificial and weird to me. This one however is fantastic! It’s very natural smelling, the tea and sweet orange lighten it and freshen it up. No stuffy old fashioned grandma gardenia here! The silage is huge and it’s very long lasting. Love it!

twiztidladii

At first spray the Gardenia hits you in the face (err nose?) like a ton of bricks but then after that initial blast has faded comes a beautiful mix of the Gardenia and Jasmine. I don’t notice Orange at all and was surprised to see it listed in the notes. It definitely comes off as a very strong, in-your-face floral. But I really like it.

Frogopolis

I love tropical white florals, so I was excited to try this. Because the other single-note florals in this line (French Lilac, Persian Rose) smell so true to life, I thought this one would, too. Wrong. I still like it, but there is a LOT of sharp citrus at the top of this fragrance (reminiscent of EL Pleasures or Clinique Happy) and the buttery, coconutty gardenia is sort of an afterthought that only emerges upon dry down. I was expecting a more fleshy, dense floral fragrance, and instead I got a very commercial-smelling one. I’’ll give it a “meh.” 3 out of 5 stars. Will wear it because it’s pleasant, but it’s not the lush tropical paradise I was expecting.

sda11489

Beautiful creamy gardenia perfume! I like this even more than Michael Kors. It lasts for a very long time and can still be smelled on clothing the next day.

yellie

WOW. This has HUGE sillage and very long lasting, absolutely amazing longevity for the price. Layer this with a tuberose scent and it is just perfect. Love it.

Konga5000

@Dhee13 , YES- this and Lilac are Pacifica's 2 long lasting fragrances!

ingrid.superstar

In a blind smell-test, I don't think I'd be able to tell this apart from Aerin Gardenia Rattan for the first few minutes. Very round, lactonic, creamy, and delicious scent! There is a savory coconut effect lurking just around the edges. About two hours later, this is still going strong on the sleeve of my sweater, but has morphed into pretty much a 50/50 jasmine and gardenia blend. Very fresh, lovely, and uncomplicated.

apple1386

Gardenia is usually quite harsh for me. I usually like the scent, but I would hesistate to wear it, especially a heavier concentated eau de parfum. Tahitian Gardenia is a well balanced fragrance. It’s somethIng I can definitely wear very often. It’s good during summer, as well as, I suspect, winter!

Dhee13

Beautiful, long lasting, you do NOT need a lot, 2 sprays is more than enough and I guarantee that you will smell it throughout the day. This one and french lilac are the best and the longest lastings from the pacifica line.

Christopher Cupcakes

This is a light, tropical floral. The Gardenia is such a beautiful scent. I find it easy to layer the mists over lotions or the matching body butter without it being too much.

The scent is light, beautiful and lasts all day without being overpowering.

chasingpetals

Just bought this in a perfume roll-on today to take on a trip. Wonderful! It reminds me of the old Tuvache Jungle Gardenia, but it also has a bit of an Avon Hawaiian White Ginger vibe. I can't really detect the citrus, and and if there's a green note, it's very subtle and probably keeps this from being too overpoweringly sweet. Seems pretty long lasting.

Alces Alces

I like the perfume spray version of this. It reminds me of Marc Jacobs Mod Noir as others have noted. Good basic gardenia scent, not great for longevity, but nice while it lasts. It took me a while to get used to the citrus in this, which really does NOT belong, but now I know to ride that out to get to the midnotes which are all floral.

Since there is always a need for that gardenia/Prell Shampoo scent in my world, it turns out that I also ended up with the alcohol-free body and hair mist. I like to spray it in my hair in the mornings. Although it does not last, it does offer a nice gardenia moment as I get ready for work.

The perfume smells very 1940's to me, in a GOOD way.

Try layering the perfume spray version with Comptoir Sud Pacifique's Coco Extreme! So tropical. When they settle in together the CDP Coco Extreme's sweetness sort of cuts down on the acidity of the orange, rounding this out and making it much better without smelling like suntan lotion (not that that's a bad thing).

How can they list an "animalic" accord in this? Nothing animalic at all, no musk, just fades away without an actual dry down.

gildedcrystal

I had fond memories of Indian Gardenia by The Body Shop, which has now been discontinued. But this one is a very, very sharp floral - too sharp. I don't get creamy at all. I ended up giving it away.

ember.yelim.kim

A cacophony of sickly sweet floral and piercing citrus. There's a distinct odor that lingers with the citrus and it does not compliment the natural essence of a person.

BeefNoodle

Bought on a whim after a very brief test since it was on sale at Ulta and, not being a prestige fragrance, even cheaper with a coupon. Very strong at first -almost too strong- and I agree with another reviewer who mentioned that the creaminess is almost coconut-esque. Big, full-bodied gardenia character, and what I was interpreting as sweet lime (to go with the coconut) was apparently the orange. For it being so strong on application, the staying power is less than you would expect- only a few hours. I don't think I'll re-buy it, but it's a nice, creamy white floral at a really good price point.

bourcet

Sunday brunch at the Women's Club with grandma (who would never deigned to be called grandma, so you call her GiGi or Cookie or some derivation thereof.) Reminds of wearing Sunday best on Easter Sunday, white shiny patent leather shoes, a First Communion. Getting lunch at the Lord n Taylor cafe. The line for Sarabeth's on a May weekend morning. This does feel a tad matronly to me but it could just be my own association with gardenia. There is definitely jasmine and citrus to round it out a bit and the tea notes are A++ fast shipping would buy again.

electroglide

Very pretty and uplifting! Sunshine and gardenias. It's quite strong and that's a good thing! People ask me "What's that wonderful smell?"

I like to layer this with Kuumba Made Creamy Coconut Fragrance Oil. Talk about tropical delight!...and even more compliments..."Ooohhh you smell sooooo good!" :)

This is definitely one of the better Pacifica scents. It has great sillage and longevity and just smells divine.

miracleborgtech

I haven't been in the store Ulta in a long time, but the other day I took my mother on a shopping adventure and we stopped there. Had a ball trying all sorts of perfumes, and the biggest standout was the Pacifica display with tons of products. Their Tahitian Gardenia the one I liked the best. It's not exactly a completely realistic gardenia, but it smells great, and for the price and presentation you can't beat it! Liked it so much that I got several of their products in the same scent - perfume, hand lotion, hair & body spray, towelettes, etc. More orange blossom than true gardenia smell, maybe from the sweet orange/jasmine combo, but it's gardenia-like smell is very appealing, fresh, and fun. Scent lasts a couple of hours, and is perfect for summer.

Konga5000

This is the longest lasting out of all the Pacificas. I have a bottle that's 2 years old and half full-- boy is it STRONG.
A real surprise!

mirrorghost

i love gardenia and this is quite a good one for the price. i bought the roller ball which has little staying power, but it's still a beautiful, creamy gardenia wherein i can smell little hints of the tea and sweet orange but mostly it's just a creamy gardenia. just heavenly!

datsmellysmell

i love it! i have a solid version and it's great to carry around for touch ups. it's a fresh gardenia scent and not heady. good for daytime.

Edit: i don't reach for it, it's not a particularly inviting scent. It's convenient though. I have three pacifica scents (tahitian vanilla, coconur nectar, gardenia) and i don't think I am a fan of their frags in general :( bummer because they are accessible and affordable.

LaurenBacall

More and more I'm discovering that I love gardenia scents in all forms. This is a good one, fresh and hearty, no afterburn.

kbot

This is my favorite Pacifica at the moment. Very fresh, slightly green but not overwhelmingly so. This is a more youthful, modern gardenia than something like Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia or Jovan's version, and equally affordable, so even if you think you aren't a gardenia person, give this one a go. lovely sillage and goes from day to evening

ladydonttekno

I cannot say enough good things about this fragrance! As a certifiable tea slut, I adore the addition of tea leaf here. I think it adds a nice balance to the bomby nature of gardenia. Though it's mentioned as an accord, I don't find it to be terribly ozonic like some tea fragrances (I'm looking at you, Elizabeth Arden!) I wonder a bit about the name of this fragrance, and the lack of tiare in the notes. It has that white floral, heady quality, but not a knock-you-over-the-head type that gardenia sometimes affords. I layered this with the body butter, and that added a few extra hours of life into this scent (Pacificas tend to have a fast fade). Just a solid, summery floral that I think could work day or night. So happy to finally have this in my frag arsenal!

This one was a big "yuck" on me. I ADORE gardenias! I look forward to the end of May and the beginning of June for my Mother's to bloom. I get to have the real thing for about two weeks, each year. Heaven!

I could smell the gardenia, but I also got a ton of tea rose, which I loathe. My understanding is that it's next to impossible to bottle a "good" gardenia scent, but I'm going to keep trying them out.

I found this scent at Whole Foods. Pacifica looks real interesting. The next time I'm in, I'm going to try another fragrance from their line.

Amararata

Lovely au naturel version, warm and intoxicating. Absolutely love this scent, as it reminds me of a crisp autumn day. This is so close to Calvin Klein's Escape- without the toxins in commercial perfumes. The opening has a bit more citrus than Escape, whereas Escape sets the scene with sandalwood, but the dry down and sillage of gardenia and jasmine is identical. Although the packaging leaves a lot to be desired, there's a delicious, sensual scent hidden in this bottle.

The roller ball version is perfect to put in your purse for little touchups. The scent is not overpowering at all, and lingers on your skin, and only people 6 inches from you will be able to breathe it in.

truffles

At first a bright round limey citric gardenia, with a creamy underbelly. Very interesting.
The middle comes through very quickly and that's when I'm not so sure about this. 'Aquatic musk' - is that what I'm now smelling?
Will decide yay or nay and add to this after a longer wear.

Q U I c K U p a T E !
---------------
Just bought a back-up bottle because I got that scary "this one has been around for a long time -- I wonder if they will discontinue it?" feeling.

Done. Bought it.

Whew!

This is the longest lasting Pacifica of the entire line. I get whiffs hours later.
This is a happy uplifting frag!
This is NOT a gardenia bomb at all.
This is a very natural smelling candied combination of the listed ingredients that almost smells like PEZ candy (but in a good way! I swear!)
I cannot think of ANYTHING that smells quiet like this in the niche-frag world!
PLEASE try this one - you will love it!

But don't hoard it so there will be some left for me when my back-up bottle is gone!
Thanks

I agree with the review below me, it IS rather astrigent and almost makes you wash it off after first spray but WAIT because it has the most beautiful dry down. I was so scared this was going to be some kind of "grandma gardenia" (no offense to Grandmas, I love mine!) but this is superb. I am absolutely loving this in the hot weather. Just the right amount of sweetness and tartness, a little bit of jasmine is usually all my skin can take and this perfume does it to perfection. So well priced too, I keep my rollerball in my bag, Ahhh gorgeous!!

SpaceCowgirl

The gardenia and jasmine are so beautiful in this but there is something astringent that is stinging my nose on first application (can only speak on the rollerball version), however it disappear quickly enough. The sillage is almost too strong and heavy so it is not something I would recommend wearing to work or when eating. Great for a day outdoors.

Ayola83

I have to admit, the gardenia fragrances I've experienced in the past had me running from myself, but this one did not. I could definitely smell the jasmine that is interwoven with the gardenia being the highlight, giving it some dimension. The ylang ylang softens it, along with the tea being in the background, keeping it grounded. I couldn't smell the citrus note in this, but I love how fresh this scent is. It's definitely a keeper for the warmer months.

patxaran

Love it... very tropical smelling and, for a Pacifica rollerball, not too shortlived. The opening is very fresh, slightly citrus-y. On the packaging it says notes are Gardenia, Orange Flower, Jasmin, Ylang Ylang, a tea note is not mentioned although I would not disagree that it has a slight resemblance to green or white tea as well. But the Ylang Ylang is definitely there and should be added to the notes above. A tropical fresh gardenia with a sweet and sour twist. I do not find any "waxyness" here that can be offputting with certain gardenia fragrances.

PhillyFoxy

Something must be wrong with my nose. I definitely don't notice citrus in this? It's pretty much just a green white floral to me and that's pretty much all I can smell. VERY spring-like. Most Gardenia perfumes smell a bit old ladyish, but this one is much younger while still being sophisticated and mature, something that a lady in her late 20's would greatly appreciate! It kind of reminds me of a spring tea party!

coffeekittie

This is a sweet and mild scent on me. The gardenia is quite noticable, but not overpowering. None of the scents from Pacifica seem to last for long, but I like re-applying scents so that doesn't bother me. I tend to change up depending on my mood and activities. I think this is lovely for wearing on a Spring day.

geekgoddess

This is nice, but there is a strident fresh green note in it that ruined for me, and seemed slightly out of place in a sweet floral like this.

juliaten

I like this fresh flowery smell, but because Im sensitive to fragrance this perfume causes headache and nausea in me. I decided to try Pacifica brand because it supposed to be natural, but seems the ingredients are not so natural.

cherelune

I got a rollerball of this fragrance from an Ipsy Glam Bag, and was initially disappointed that I got this instead of the vanilla that was the alternate scent that month. I am not into white florals, which I usually find too cloying and a little "older lady". However, this one grew on me. The crisp, citrus scent balanced out the sweetness of gardenia, making the fragrance fresher and more modern than other white florals I've sniffed. It has a warm, tropical vibe that's perfect for summer. However, I won't be getting another when I use up the rollerball, since it is generally not my type of fragrance.

LaUna

Lovely gardenia jasmine scent. Reminiscent of french lime blossom at first, definitely something there.
Soft, pleasant, I want to nuzzle fragrance.
For white floral lovers must try this gem.
I'll be getting this in near future!

deepyb

A lovely GARDENIA scent, one of the BEST I've ever tried. I have the solid which has a moderate longevity. Not too bad for a solid! It's light, but it's definitely there. It's a very feminine scent and can be worn by all ages.

Smells like long SUMMER evenings, somewhere TROPICAL. I think it's the best Pacifica fragrance!

perfumeaddiction

Thank you to my wonderful swap partner I received a bottle of this. It is a very safe lovely soft scent. Perfect for summer without suffocating you with heavy florals. I am so pleased with this little gem and I would highly recommend this for summer.

scentofpeace

I've got a bottle if anyone wants to trade.

Perfumedsecrets

A very simple green lady like gardenia, but I like this type scent for spring and summer. It's not heavy and doesn't last all day, but the rollerball is nice for reapplying quickly.

novembertea

I have the rollerball (thanks Ipsy!). This fragrance smells very sweet and candy-like on me, which makes the gardenia (which is very noticeable) smell very warm, and vanilla-brown sugary. Not much else to say about this one, except that it does not last more than a couple hours. This is one I'd keep in my purse for a pick me up during warmer months. Not a signature, every-day one for me.

nastyamason

I always enjoyed gardenia scented body products and candles, so I ordered this perfume. I was so surprised that it smells exactly like Estée Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia. That perfume made me physically sick and I blamed tuberose component which is a difficult note for me. Well, I am having olfactory déjà vu with Tahitian Gardenia perfume. I will be swapping this, however, for those who enjoyed Tuberose Gardenia this is an affordable alternative. Unfortunately for me, it lasts way too long but for those who love the smell, it will be a plus.

glassjules

Really enjoy this one in summer, have it as a solid and it's just something you want to go back and smell again for a pick me up. Lovely!

Sweet Sea Pea

I first came to this fragrance after trying the body butter in a small size at Sephora. I really loved that so I splurged for a set with a large size of the body butter, the shower gel, and a rollerball of the fragrance. I didn't know if I would love the fragrance, but it is a very nice gardenia with some complexity as others have stated. The shower gel is beautifully fragranced with some staying power, the body butter is luxuriously moisturizing and smells amazing, and the perfume is nice as well. I decided to compare it to Tocca's Florence today, which I purchased for my best friend and sampled. Florence on me is all gardenia, but when I compare it to the Pacifica, I actually like this better! The Pacifica has much more complexity than the Florence, which really surprised me. The Tocca is creamier, but Pacifica's has the slight sharpness of the tea leaf which makes it more intoxicating and mysterious. Most of my favorite fragrances have orange and jasmine, so it's no surprise that I enjoy this. If you are a gardenia lover, then I think this would be a big hit for you.

Lucy Peach

I have the solid perfume and prefer it to the spray. It's really handy as well. I think gardenia scents can be love-or-hate. I used to get lots of positive comments from other people when I wore Jo Malone's Vintage Gardenia, sadly now discontinued. Pacifica is doing the job for now. I really like it and it's reasonably priced.

dame piglet

Someone beat me to the adjective that this fragrance calls to mind for me: SPARKLING!
Cstreet nailed the opening as 50/50 floral/ citrus. Very well-balanced.

I like this and I enjoy many of Pacifica's offerings. They're generally unique and wearable and a great bargain, even if some don't have great silliage and/or lasting power (layering helps much)

This is good stuff for any age and a nice multi-purpose frag.

Be well & happy sniffing!!

2746cstreet

The opening of this fragrance is 50/50 citrus & gardenia. Once it mellows it's a sweet, creamy gardenia with pleasant green notes and a certain brightness from the citrus.
Although I have as yet to encounter a "light" gardenia fragrance, Tahitian Gardenia is worlds away from such white floral bombs as Amarige & Giorgio.
Sillage is moderate and pleasant. I find I much prefer to catch this scent's projection than sniff it on my skin. Nose to wrist the citrus/tea combo seems quite sharp.

freddinos

Quite nice! Sweet and lemony, gently floral, creamy gardenia... An exotic every day scent, not something outstanding but good enough! I so wish this lasted longer on me, my skin drinks it up in under 1-2 hours, no matter how much I spray:(
Thank you littlepepperz for yet another successful swap:)

littlepepperz

I just got this and I couldn't be happier.
Now, I only bought this because it seems to be similar to my beloved marc jacobs.

It's not that similar, but I still love it. It's a lot sweeter, citrus is very prominent. It doesn't have that cold musky drydown of marc jacobs that I ADORE. It's a sweet, tropical-green, citrus floral.

However it reminds me most of Jennifer Aniston's fragrance, only with much, much better projection and a little more citrus and a lot more warmth. The notes listed on the packaging are different to the ones listed here:
-jasmine
-orange flowers
-tea leaves
-ylang ylang

It's now starting to enter the creamy drydown, my skin smells 'warm' - as if it's been in the sun all day. I can't wait for summer.
For a little, vegan perfume sillage/lasting power are quite impressive! Overall a great buy.

This is the reason Gardenias are one of my favorite scents. This perfume is sharp, citrusy, sweet, smooth, and creamy, all at once. It has a very tropical feel and definitely puts me in a good mood!

pynkgirl

This is one of my favorites from the line, a nice energized gardenia, not the dated smelling type. I get pina colada !

poivrerose

I like how the reviewer below described this as "youthful". As much as a gardenia scent can be - this one is definitely on the fresher more modern side. It still is a rich and lovely realistic gardenia fragrance. The tea and orange perfectly enhance with a dry sweetness, without being too much or too little. It's sweet and pretty but every now and again you get a crisp sharper fresh green floral essence floating about. It is the most pleasant gardenia scent I've come accross - staying pretty throughout the wear. Never becoming stuffy. But it is quite heady and you don't need much. I recommend the body butter! It is extremely fragrant and long lasting. If you're looking to try a gardenia fragrance, but are a bit hesitant - give this one a try. It is both quality and affordable.

pynkgirl

This is definitely one of my favorite gardenias! It's not that granny smell. It's a youthful gardenia.

BlueMoonRose

I love this one, has a bit of crispness to it and is not overwhelmingly "gardenia-ish". I am now a big fan of Pacifica. Blood Orange is very nice too.

dews

Perfume has a sugary sweet smell when I first spray onto my skin, this turns into a creamy and powdery smell later. This smell last the whole day for me, but smell was too strong for my colleague who is sensitive to perfume when I wore it for work one day.

bluestarrdust

I have the solid perfume of this and it is just lovely. I usually HATE white floral fragrances but this is so soft and inoffensive that it makes me want to buy the big bottle of it. I would say give it a try even if you don't like white florals, you might be pleasantly surprised like I was.

awesomebobcat

There is definitely more than one note in this fragrance. According to it's box, there are jasmine, orange flowers, tea leaves, and ylang ylang in it. Gardenia flowers are very difficult to make into a fragrance because the extraction of essential oils is impossible, so they usually dry the petals and mix them with other similar smelling essential oils. This would be why it's so difficult to get a truly gardenia scented fragrance. Tahitian gardenias are also called tiare flowers and they have a similar though sweeter fragrance to gardenias.

Tahitian Gardenia smells like a vintage perfume, very feminine, very innocent with a bit of sweetness. Lots of white florals, a bit of tea, lots of green and a sweet drydown. Very long lasting, absolutely amazing fragrance. It's beautiful, intoxicating and mesmerizing the most incredible gardenia fragrance I've ever smelt. And it's all natural and not tested on animals. Very impressed.

MaggieKat

This is the first of the Pacifica perfumes I have tried that doesn't smell citrussy. I get flowers, gardenia and tiare flower (I think) I am not sure what tiare flower actually smells like. But I do like it.

fanciful

Unfortunately I don't get creamy gardenias, but I do smell some tiare flower. Mainly I get citruses, maybe lime and grapefruit...? Very sparkly indeed. I like it, but I wish the florals were more prominent.

Cocacolapeachgirl

I love this scents, sexy, alluring, and feminine. Light, but not overpowering, with a sexy floral scent.

melia

Creamy, hypnotizing, lots of white and a bit green.. I love it very much! For such a low pricetag it smells very intruiging and different. I love to spray this in my hair; since it is made organically from natural oils I know it will not really damage it :) Then I spritz on some coconut fragrance on my skin and voilà, an exotic twist is there! By the way, here it shows gardenia as the note of this perfume, but I'm sure it's tiaré flower, since tahitian gardenia is just another term for tiaré (the bottle and packaging is also with tiaré flowers as you can see).

joon

green, creamy, and sweet, gets me lots of compliments, one of my favorite inexpensive summer scents.

tessture

Cedar, pepper and mothballs backing up a white floral. Not for me.

Michele716

When I lived near a Whole Foods I sampled this, loved it, bought it and by the time I got home, hated it. It became very cloying and it was so strong I could even smell it after a shower.
