Longevity and sillage for this flanker of Rumba are almost beast mode. I love its sweet-refreshing scent in winter, but also love it even more at summers, for the exact same reasons.
OC it depends on your skin, what i feel great on mine, must be terrible on yours, so, try yourself always in skin.

I am blown away at the longevity and silage of this scent! It's everything a perfume should be. Even though there's no plum, tuberous, or incense listed, I'd still say this gives off a Dior Poison vibe. Perfect for anyone who loves Poison but is afraid to wear it. This has just as much oomph to it, without choking anyone out that's around you.

glamarama

I am stunned at Rumba Passion's longevity considering it's an EDT. At first it feels a bit heavy but after half an hour it develops into a spicy magical honey pot 🍯 Make no mistake there's nothing subtle about it – this is a super rich fragrance! The dry down is extraordinary, it's been 4 hours and it melts on the surface of my skin like a scented candy bracelet. Really wish I could say the same for a bunch of other EDTs.

MadderRose

I am obsessed with rose-incense-benzoin-tuberose-woods perfumes & blind bought this based off so many Fragrantica reviews touting rose & incense. I also love big ‘90’s powerful frags that walk into a room 5 minutes before you do. There is no frag too loud for me (sorry not sorry).

Maybe this bottle needs to macerate a while, but I’m not impressed. First of all, I HATE powder & I get so much powder from this. I don’t get any rose or incense, just a blended white flower powder mashup on soft patchouli. I wish the patchouli were dirtier & more head shop. I definitely wish I smelled rose. Something a little sweeter or more sour is definitely missing here which might take it from blah to interesting.

I’m glad I only paid $16 for this & I will say- it smells more expensive than that & the longevity is extremely impressive at this price point. I don’t feel badly that I just used 20 sprays to freshen up my shoe closet.

I’d say it’s a safe blind buy if you want a boring, inoffensive yet expensive-smelling Mom perfume. No younger person would want to wear this, ever. Since I hate the gourmand fruit baskets of the youth frag market, that’s fine with me. I’ll use this for layering & spraying on my silk robe & of course my shoe closet, but the yawn Mom vibes of this aren’t remotely sexy.

Sometimes I legit wonder where Fragrantica reviews come from, but maybe a lot of these are written by boring moms lol. (Don’t downvote if you’re a boring mom & like this, because other potential buyers need to see this review, Carole).

I kind of want to buy the original Rumba now since I know y’all can’t be trusted & I suspect it may have more of the unique wow factor I was hoping for. To be fair, I prize unique niche wow factor in frags & my tastes run toward unisex and unusual.

In short:

Rose & incense? WHERE???? (I burn incense & bakhoor every day. Maybe you have only smelled dollar store or cheap HEM incense?)

Longevity: 8/10 & honestly deserves 10/10 at this price point

Scent itself: 4/10. Nothing awful but nothing interesting either. Well blended yawn fest with no ‘star of the show’ fist fighting to the front.

Ferra_Verto

Florals and peaches crystallized in lightly spiced and earthy honey. Very bright and alluring, inviting and sophisticated.
Perfect for cool weather, and I do so enjoy this in the spring.
Long-lasting, 8+hrs with a booming sillage.

Mc1995

I have a feeling this has the same notes as the original just tuned differently. Because I get the dryer sheet vibe from the marigold. Estée Lauder Beautiful meets Elizabeth Arden Red Door. Very pretty and great value. If you love 80’s style opulent floral bombs, you’d like it.

LSAUG

Rumba Passion is giving me Dior Poison vibes. Thorny rose, over ripe fruits, thick animalic honey. This fragrance is beast mode! Wow! I get a lot of beeswax w/ this. Thorny dark rose, the deepest red rose, a burgundy rose, animalic orange blossom, animalic honey and beeswax. This perfume is so thick you could cut it w/ a knife! Aldehydes are here as well and they really amping all the other notes way up. Lot of earthy patchouli as well, earthy dark musky notes that will linger forever on skin and clothes. This is worn by a real femme fatal, a maneater! Rumba Passion is a very old school fragrance, and they don't make them like this anymore. Rich, provocative, daring, unapologetic and unforgettable.

drugstore classics

Phenomenal, vintage-style budget beauty. You were missing vintage floriental powerhouses that have been discontinued and outrageously priced?

Mourn no more. This is retro richness! ENJOY.

Silverquick

Intoxicating. Wow. Wasn’t expecting so much power from an EDT. Truly beast mode.

This is deep, dark and dangerous on my skin. Not a fun fragrance. She has a rose in her teeth and a gun at her hip. Lots of orange blossom and honey over the base of patchouli and what feels like spicy incense (carnation?) and dark wood. Powder is there but really comes alive in the dry down. Somewhat reminds me of old school Maja just a tad. The rose starts to really kick in in the dry down but isn’t distinct. It’s warmer and adds light. They really don’t make fragrances like this these days (well ones I’ve gotten my nose on yet anyway). So complicated and deep. I’m going to really try her out in winter. But so far I’m intrigued and relieved there’s no “candy” in her notes.

CurlGurl

This is one of those rare perfumes that smells exactly like the notes profile. The honey, rose, and orange blossom are dominant. It's such a gorgeous perfume and has no whiff of vintage. I think it's a very pretty woman perfume, like a lady who dresses well and takes care of herself but never overdose it. Very easy to wear and casual. For me I can see this better suited for warm weather, but not hot weather.

LZed

Wasn't sure about this one but then suddenly I really liked it. Rumba Passion feels more acerbic compared to Rumba and it is not nearly as sweet as Creation, Lapidus' honey floral chypre. I get mostly orange blossom and spicy patchouli. There is definitely some salty-fruity Rumba DNA but the bitterness or sourness of the patch is pronounced to my nose -- and that's a good thing. As it dries down, the patchouli harmonizes with the honey and orange blossom and the rose becomes less noticeable. It's addictively fresh and full and dirty all at once.

AvasBlackOrchid

Beautiful bottle, super sweet fruits, no gourmand but actual fruits, very powdery in a way that's reminiscent of vintage fragrances, so, if you think those smell too mature for you maybe look somewhere else.
Also, clean not in the cleaning product kind of way but more of a completely clean space outside of really ripped, juicy fruits

Healthy scents

Patience, the dry down is what this Fragrance is about!

Healthy scents

I am pleasantly surprised! Rumba passion is the sweetest fruity frag I've sniffed so far, in the most beautiful way.
I noticed the floral side after it settled on my skin, I really like this scent and I appreciate how long lasting it is.

Stillmagnolia

When I first sprayed, I thought, “uh-oh, too sweet”. I tired and tried to find a place where it works, and while outdoors, I did have a few whiffs that were of the actual notes and more like what some of the good reviews describe….. mainly that subtle rose, bit of incense and floral, that was so pretty. And my chemistry eats frags like a 250-lb teen might eat fried chicken. Which I guess is why I felt like there were only some picked-over bones left on the plate. My skin must eat all the good notes and just leave the sugar. I have had some good TL experiences…. rumba (starts off fantastic before turning to bad vanilla floral cheap candle) and rumba passion just aren’t part of them. I envy those who have good luck with this one, and wish I could smell you, haha.

drugstore classics

Delightful!

I have long enjoyed Rumba on others. On me it was strangely lacking in projection(!) and a little thin smelling. As a Vintage Lover, I enjoyed the powerful dupe, Al Rehab Randa instead, which was a bit more rich and warm on my skin.

Today my bottle of Rumba Passion arrived, and it's precisely what I'd hoped Rumba itself would be. Thicker, warmer, and with more projection and longevity. Though perhaps updated slightly from the original, it's very much a vintage beauty. You MUST love Tagettes/Marigolds as a note in fragrance to appreciate this beauty. This is not the daughter of Rumba, but the richer sister. I truly appreciate the slightly sweeter and thicker bent of the scent profile, but after the sweeter top notes die down somewhat it still gives off a distinctly RUMBA aroma! Recommended only for those who already enjoy vintages or Rumba herself. The pungency of that Tagette note can be very overwhelming to someone who has never come across it before. I feel I am wearing Rumba itself with a touch more richness.

By today's standards, this is a unique Niche. Don't expect it to smell like a current orange blossom designer release (although it contains orange blossom). The notes given are not a true representation of what I smell. Go look at Rumba's notes, which are closer to the scent profile here, and then consider if you enjoy those.... Think bold 80's Floriental with Tagettes!

Great sillage, longevity, and price point. The bottle is heavy and attractive. ENJOY!

annasarahr121

Rumba Passion is roses, at first blast, along with that unmistakable DNA of Ted Lapidus Rumba: rich, honeyed fruits, teetering on the verge of rotting, but stopping just before they"turn." Weirdly, there are no fruits listed in the notes, but I swear I smell something of the Mirabelle plum that's in the original Rumba. I pick up no patchouli but definitely am hit with serious orange blossom, once the rose note dies down a bit. Aside from roses, honey, orange blossom, and the almost rotting fruits of the original TL Rumba, Rumba Passion is super rich and almost smoky, having a more-than-passing similarity to the deep, honeyed roses of Elizabeth Arden Red Door (but Red Door reads a little dustier, if you will, and is not as bright as Rumba Passion). Rumba Passion is an incredibly impressive perfume for the price ($15!), a true gem of perfumery, for those who enjoy big, heady, challenging, complex scents. I think it's slightly more wearable than the original Rumba, actually, with it's more floral and less leathery aspects. Sillage is also BIG and longevity is decent, at around 5 hours before becoming a skin scent. Great perfume!!!

Zaleska

Don't take its opening for granted: it takes some time to develop. It starts "Poisone-y", but with dirty, sour patchouli, and then settles in a rosey, honeyed smell, but sour still. Intriguing stuff, this one.

EDIT: I can detect a hint of Joop Femme here. Yes. If you like the smell of esoteric stores, go for this one. That's it.

Madyana

For me, this is completely Lux soap with interesting nuances! I don’t usually like very soapy scents, but this has a permanent place in my heart.❤️ In summer and on warm skin this scent notes come out beautifully, in winter and in the cold I smell more soap. An interesting, clean scent.

Malita6623

Very 90's, think of Montana, Paloma Picasso, but a bit more modern. Lovely. For warm nights. Inciense and roses, thats what I get. Love it.

Seaworthy

I have both Rumba Passion as well as Rumba from Ted Lapidus. I really like Rumba, sweet, complex and leathery it's perfect for cooler weather. Rumba Passion surprisingly smells similar to Rumba which I really cannot understand when you look at the note profiles. Rumba is so complex and Rumba Passion is so simple yet they smell very close. Rumba Passion is very honey sweet and I smell something like red berries mostly, I do not smell the rose, it lacks the leather note yet there is a dirty patchouli grounding it instead. I happen to enjoy patchouli in most all of it's forms and nuances so that doesn't bother me in the least. You could wear either fragrance year round but I prefer Rumba in cooler weather because of the leather note and Rumba Passion would be great in any season because of it's fruitiness. Nice longevity and sillage on both fragrances.

JolieSucre

If the listed notes are indeed what this perfume contains so to speak, then this is just a sweeter version of Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds.

The same exact scent, sweetened with honey. Basically jasmine and orange blossom + honey. A nice perfume and an easy reach, fitting all times of the day and occasions. It is however a little bit 'mature', like a 40- something lady. It smells like a 90s perfume (strong, floral, slightly soapy trail) that wanted to emulate something from the 1940's to me. I like it, but there is no difference between this one and ET's, which is too mature and simple for me.

If this one is harder to find than ET, go for White Diamonds or White Diamonds Night. The difference is really not significant once you put it on and let it dry/develop. I don't detect the tuberose in that one, and neither in this one.

lipstickzombie

Such beautiful notes, yet my body chemistry have other plans...

Opening smells like a very bad bubblegum floral splash cologne in my country (Can't remember what type of Eskulin is that one) amped to 100. Heavy sillage already with just 2 sprays. Mid keeps the bubblegum scent but adds a jasmine urinal cake vibe to the mix. A freshly pissed on jasmine urinal cake. Had to wash it off after 3 hours.

ladypicky

I'd say this is a unisex perfume.

I saw a honey note is listed

●BUT●

On my skin a Bitter Jasmin and plum !!!really bitter.

There is a mild projection with 4 sprays and stays close to skin.

I like to wear it doing sports because it's not annoying but yet pleasant.🥋

Very oldschool scent to my nose.

HollywoodNovaBaby

I kept thinking I must have bought really great fabric softener until I realized it was the Rumba Passion I sprayed on. Smells just like clean clothes/dryer sheets!

AnitaHendricks

This perfume is huge. It's big, strong and herbal in a floral way. I don't think this would be a safe blind buy. You really have to appreciate it for what it is but when you do, it's wonderful!

UnearthlyApothecary

This DOES have the DNA of original Rumba in that skanky animalic honey that kinda veers towards candle wax/church incense. It’s just a little more floral and sweet. I much prefer this to the original because there is so much going on in the original it’s a little overwhelming, a little too much. This keeps the spirit of the original but is a bit more modern/wearable. The orange blossom is very dominant to my nose, it overpowers the Rose snd jasmine and slightly reminds me of VS Rapture. Very romantic feminine scent that veers slightly towards the sensual thanks to that honey skank. Love this, the silage and longevity are fantastic.

dante11

i am wearing this-and i love it. i had forgotten how beautiful this is....
i always worried because of the honey it would be super sweet-but not this-the honey actually adds a sexiness to the perfume....
when i sprayed this it is a chilly damp spring morning, and it is perfect!

i have to add this edit-i sprayed it in my hair 24 hours ago-i can still smell it!

VALRYCKE

There is JOOP! Femme DNA. Classic vibe, incense, smells india. The only good part is the drydown but sadly have to wait for at least 2 hr.

Soofiya

I had two successful experiences with Ted Lapidus(I love White Soul Golds and diamonds and I like White Soul) and I love honey and orange flower in perfumes so I didn't waste a second to order Rumba Passion as soon as I saw it in an online perfume shop.it turns out that this was a great decision.
Rumba Passion is amazing! I haven't tried Rumba so I can't compare them but this one is a true gem.I was afraid of it's dominant patchouli and yes,it is recognizable,it's even strong but strangely doesn't bother me even a bit. I was also worried about that it may smell old.fortunately there's nothing dated in it.it's like a modern perfume which has inherited some good genes from the oldies.it's rich and deep and has strength and character like them but at the same time is easily wearable in modern life
I pickup all the notes listed for it.honeyed flowers in a base of patchouli(I even thought there's oak moss in it).sometimes patchouli reaches near the boundaries of getting too much for me(at those times I feel I can smell vetiver. In it too) but vanilla emerges right in time and rounds it a bit(though I wished there was none of that earthy vetiverish thing it)sometimes I feel I can smell a touch of something dirty/animalic here, very sexy
It somehow reminds me of my beloved Police Legend but with a earthy twist.my husband likes it too(though he's not usually into sweet perfumes).he said you smell like very sweet rose and orange and woods! I asked him do you mean sweet in a bad way.he said no amit's fantastic, sweet in a bit dark and spicy way
Longevity is unbelievable.it seems to last forever and projects very well even hours after spraying it
it's bottle doesn't seem to be made of high quality materials, still I like it's shape and shades
Owning a 100mil bottle of this wonderful perfume just by paying just 15$ is like a dream.it's indeed a hidden gem

Elreno22

Love it. Warm, wintry, mellow. Reminds me of dark red lipstick. Glamorous. Love it.

Albertos

Welcome! I have a beautiful fragrance for women as well as unisex fragrance, rose, patchouli, vanilla, and honey mmmm .... rarities at a good price, very good longevity, perfect for evening, autumn and winter, If you like Dior - Hypnotic Poison, and heavy flavor fragrances that smell for you, regardless of age or gender. Very nice bottle. I would recommend! 8/10 Lapidus...Made In France. Good job!

juniemoon

Gosh, I hope this is never discontinued. I have my bottle plus backup and considering another backup, that's how much I looooove this! If I store it carefully, maybe and hopefully, Rumba Passion will be one of those that improves with age? I'm wearing it now and I fall in love with it all over again each time I use it. That is rare for me.

Bubbles1964

Rumba Passion to the rescue. I respect the original Rumba but it was just too overpowering for me to ever pull off. This is all about honeyed florals, and oddly I get a Dr. Pepper vibe during the opening. Will need to properly test this in cold weather as it's too much for summer. One thing is certain, this is a solid performer, with a polite nod to the original, making Passion easier to wear.

LiliaBetty

The opening was very similar to Shams al Emarat Khususi by Ard Al Zaafaran, the mild incensed patchouli rose. I must have overdosed on such scent recently that my nose just could not accept it anymore. I was planning to toss it out but magic happened. After 45 minutes, the opening scent had completely gone as it turned into a very soft yet uplifting fruity floral scent, surprisingly softer in comparison to the original rumba which I sprayed on my other arm. I fell in love at this stage, No doubt they are both beautiful but I don’t think they have any similarities. I’m definitely keeping this bottle.

gtabasso

Holy crap, the biggest sleeper scent. This is cheap and worth hundreds. It smells like tuberose in the top. There's tons of orange blossom, honey and then a smokey note from the patch. This is NOTHING like Balenciaga Rumba. I don't know what people are sniffing. I have bottles of vintage Rumba. That is a spicy floriental.

Mitsuko

Powerhouse! If you are somewhat middle aged and miss those intoxicating heady mysterious fragrances of the late 70s to mid80s then this is for you. I mean pre-reformulation Poison, Samsara, LouLou and the likes. It's bold, loud and sexy, make sure it matches your personality or this fragrance might wear you.

SuzanneS

3.3 bottle reviewed
Passion opens up with a dirty honeyed patchouli vibe. The honey runs animalic, almost giving off a decayed, garbagy tone like Montana Parfum de Peau which could indicate a sour rose at play counterpoint to the orangeblossom and honey. Its a great valued patchouli rose, super heavy so daywear would be difficult. Huge bang for your buck. Evening only, mature in nature. I dont get the fruits many here suggest..just an overload of honey, patch and rose. Once the heart opens its nice.

kipi.chan

I bought this fragrance based on all the positive reviews here and the notes listed. mmmmmmhhhh....I just couldn't..it did not work for me at all. I tried it for 2 days but nothing changed. Such a pity coz I really really like the bottle too.

meliecat

VERY FEMININE! It`s a bona fide vintage scent that fills up you up to the brim with joy for life!I can`t imagine being down when wearing this perfume. It is indeed very `red` as mentioned before me, sweet, but not fruity.
I get a lot of honey and patchouli in the beginning, later vanilla and rose also, the other flowers appear later on and stay aloof. It kind of reminds me of a cheapie called Podium, which was my mum`s cheaper version of Opium/Poison in the 80s,the two scents are nearly identical!
The downside for me: I must wait at least half an hour after applying though - I`m not a true patchouli-fan or at least not up for it in any amount - cos it IS quite strong, makes the scent initially a bit `off` for me.
Makes a total statement and great value!

HannahNori

MY OH MY! This perfumes name is spot on! My husband is all over me when
I wear this perfume! Since it is his favorite on me, it is also one of mine. I am simply
delighted with it.

Wish I would have found out about this gorgeous passionate beauty years ago!

MoreScentsThanDollars

Id forgotten exactly how much I love this gorgeous, powerful fragrance until I gave it away.
The lady I gave it to got a headache (probably because this is so darn strong) so she gave it back to me. Thanks for that. x
It was like a 'come to momma' reunion, "Welcome back my bombastic beauty I've missed you".
A super sweet floral honey that delivers quite a bang for your buck!

kurzemesradioel

Very lovely, I agree with all the feedback below.
Just like to add something, that this is so very alike to the perfume Avon has, called Premiere Luxe.
Very alike, so if you have that, no need to buy Rumba!

Lilypads

Yummy! I want to eat my own arm wearing this!
I am a joint custodian of the original Balenciaga Rumba with my Mum (not sure she's aware of this shared ownership :) ) I love love love the original, it's so passionate, warm and sexy, enveloping you in a heady cloud of deliciousness. I've never tried the Ted Lapidus version of Rumba but decided to try this based on my love of Rumba and on the amazing reviews on here.
It's stunning. The notes are well blended with the florals beautifully toned and mellowed with the honey. Yes it is similar to Rumba but less full throttle - it's lighter, more floral, a cleaner smell but still fruity delicious, good enough to eat. I can't say which is my favourite as I love them both.
This is a great bargain and now I'm willing to try the Ted Lapidus version of Rumba based on my love of this one. Happy girl here. Highly recommend this perfume.

Addict2Perfume

Rumba Passion by Ted Lapidus opens as a big burst of patchouli and orange flower. I love the orange flower because it always smells like grapes to me and the patchouli in this fragrance has a semi-masculine vibe, it’s very fresh in a cologne-like way. After about 45 minutes I start to smell the rose and the honey. The patchouli starts to smell a little “dirty” with the way it mixes with the rose, but the rose has a deep richness to it that makes it smell ultra sexy and the honey adds just the right amount of golden sweetness. I don’t get any vanilla or jasmine and that’s fine with me. This is definitely one of my more mature smelling fragrances that has a sense of sophistication about it. It is almost seems whimsical, as if it was from a different era! This was a cheapy blind buy for me and I absolutely love it!

Beautiful_Scent

I love the original Rumba and I was curious what this flanker would be like. All I can say is that it is better, if possible. It is more floral and fruity and less incense in it. I got online a big 100ml bottle for only 14 pounds. That is a no brainer to me!
It has great silage and longevity. Very, very lovable perfume and you don't get to smell it on every other woman around you.
Great job Ted Lapidus!

LisaLovesPerfume

This is Rumba without the powery note. I love this fragrance. Rich and with presence. This is not a shy scent at all.

PLUMPIE

I bought this blindly as I have previously owned the original Rumba, which I like but something in the combination of the almost decayed rose notes and heavy handed carnation combo smells a bit musty and almost poutpourri air freshener like on me. I got my hands on the big 100ml tester bottle which actually lists it's components on a sticker on the side of the bottle 'Davana, Rose, Bergamot, Jasmine, Labdanum, Orange blossom, vanilla, patchouli and honey. I love all of the notes but not to sure about Davana other than it's a type of flower. At first I definitely get the comparisons to Poison - it has a super screechy berries and honey note despite not containing any berry notes but it doesn't have the medicinal herbal notes so don't go buying this on the hopes of a cheaper Poison as the berry soon dies off and turns into a sweet powdery honey with incense and spices. The dry down is quite similar to Van Cleef but it is sweeter and more fruity. I would rather have the Van Cleef than this one. And this one I have to wear for about an hour before it settles down into a wearable scent. I would be a bit cautious of wearing this one around others until it has fully died down.

On first spray I found it fruity and almost overwhelmingly sweet and I was tempted to give this away as I was sort of repulsed by it, but I persisted and I gave it a chance as I am now enveloped in the smell of the original Rumba but a more modern version. It has an almost fizzy red fruit note that comes and goes which gives it a more modern feel and it is scrummy. I am quite surprised Plum isn't listed on the bottle as I get a dark fruity note just like the jammy-spice that the original has. I keep getting whiffs of honey-patchouli rose and fine incense. Very deep and dark and it definitely does has shades of Poison (which I cannot wear) and keeps the original character of the original Rumba. Unfortunately it is a tad too fruity-honey (and I love honey) for me to wear and I feel a bit overwhelmed by this. I don't think I will be keeping this one. But it is definitely a well done scent and it is super affordable.

butfly23

Blown my head off. This reimind's me partly of original Poison, but waaaaaaay stronger and sweeter.
I still prefer Poison.
This lasts and lasts which is good but I would prefer something else to pull it back or down or tone the sweetness.
I am not going to get through my 100ml bottle ever.
I will have to share around.
Overall a great perfume and wish it were in shops for people to have a try.
Would like to try original Rumba as there is a leather note.

MadeiraD

This is a sweet honey drizzled floral backed up by vanilla and patchouli. It’s sweet, long lasting and something about the patchouli/rose/honey combo makes me go want to make growly noises and pounce on my husband when I’m wearing it.

This perfume is like a woman who wears very high heels and makes dirty jokes who is always nice to children and animals and really means it when she wishes you a happy birthday. It’s genuinely sweet… but kinda dirty in a good way.

PaulieDoodle

"Wow" What a real "BEAUTY" you turned out to be!!
As a owner off the "ORIGINAL RUMBA BY BALENCIAGA) yet to try the Ted Lapidus Rumba, which for me was always kinda hit & miss as I always found it rather strong, even though my husband always likes it on me (home from a nightout & when the bedroom lights are out & in the dark!!!) I was surprised when this arrived in the post last week!! After wearing this beauty for a full week now im very pleased to say that I really do love this fragrance indeed!! & My friends & family have all asked me,'Whats that beautiful perfume your wearing today',even my Dad when I gave him a hug!! + Including my husband who bought it for me!! It's deffo more easier to wear than the original Rumba by Balenciaga, smells really beautiful & classy,is really well balanced,& deffo draws compliments!! It also could be used by a guy,as it's not overly sweet,& I must say that my husband can't keep his hands off mine,& it really does smell fantastic on him also lol'lol!! It also really lasts,& stays beautiful has it wears on my skin/husbands skin,& we both can't smelling each other when we have this on!! Ted Lapidus are sure on a winner with this one,if they don't ever discontinue it in the future!! I also have just bought another bottle off "Rumba Passion" for my hubby!! I deffo rate this beauty at 10/10,& I think it has already become one off my all time favourits!!

deepyb

What a GREAT perfume! I can detect the roses, patchouli and vanilla very clearly. Normally I don't like fragrances with the scent of roses, but I love Rumba Passion! Whenever I wear this one, I can't stop sniffing my arm... The opening is very loud, but after 5 minutes the dry down starts and the perfumes develops into an amazing warm scent.
It was a blind buy, based on the reviews here. I am a patchouli lover, so I just HAD TO buy this one. It's sweet and earthy, just the perfect combination.
It's different -better!- than the mainstream perfumes where I live. I bought a 100ml bottle for about 24 euros, which I think is a good price.

Imagine if instead of being served with a meal, you only got a dish of pure hot spices and were expected to gobble it down as is. That's what this feels like. This scent wouldn't be bad (well, it would still be a bit New Age-ish for me, but bearable) if it were diluted in something a bit more palatable.

Lavallectra

This smells very earthy on me, strong with patchouli and sweetened slightly with dark honey. Great sillage and longevity, very 80's feel to it.

very good, but I prefer your original

This was a blind buy due to all the great reviews. On the first spray in smelled similar to Pure Poison. Which I love... 30 min later it turned into a cheap sweet candy on my skin. It's giving me headache and my beau asked me what was that horrible smell. I tried it twice and I don't think I will be trying it out again. What a pity, as I thought I'll love it. If any of you would like to swap, please let me know, I've got a 100ml bottle for grabs :)

Rumba Passion is for those who like the original Rumba but just do not have the guts to wear it because they think it is too strong. (I am one of them). But I like that damn thing.

Rumba Passion is milder than the original and surprisingly pleasant: I could not stop sniffing my wrist in search for those wonderful sweet and enticing notes.

It is relatively light and day-wearable. The daytime Rumba version.

Received a sample from a generous fragrantica friend :)
This is a classic scent with a modern twist.
On me this is a not too complicated mix of mostly earthy patchouli & white flowers. There is a certain sweetness to it due to the vanilla & honey, however the earthy patchouli lends a slightly bitter note on my skin, which I am not too fond of...
It's not a bad scent at all. I fully understand the good reviews this receives and I am sure this will be beautiful on others.
It's just not for me.

If you love fruity scents that are soft but still strong and long lasting, this one is for you.

Rumba Passion seems to be truly a "red" fragrance : red fruits, red roses, very well blended with honey to deepen and soften the mix.

Perfect for every day, or for a fun night out. Great in all kinds of weather, too.

Rumba Passion would be perfect to wear with a bright red crushed velvet dress, sparkly high heels, and a big smile !
Excellent bargain price, too ! Try it ! Have FUN !

I will join those ones who praise this fantastic fragrance! Good job made by Lapidus! Indeed a very true to the original "Rumba" but with a modern twist. Very wearable and great for cold winter and fall period. I am surprised that there is no plum listed this time, i am amazed that so many notes make such a fantastic choir. Very deep and sultry, fantastic projection and lasting power and great price. What else can we ask for? If you like or love original "Rumba", then try this one also, you won´t be dissapointed. It has a very good patchouli base, the "old" rose with honey and a very much needed orange topping. YUMMY! I can´t believe that among all modern similar releases somone dares to release this beauty i such a harmonious composition. Very 80´s vibe indeed, but very much wearable nowdays. You sure will be outstanding out of the crowd and a good substitute for "Angel".
BRAVO!
BRAVISSIMO!

P.S. I can´t help the feeling that it is like the modern "Poison", i feel the same way when i wear this "Rumba". Simply amazing!

Wow! I think that really sums it up! I can't write anything better than olga has done but I wholeheartedly agree this stuff is amazing and well under rated. Not such a bad thing being under rated as it can be obtained for a reasonable price per huge 100ml bottle. Guess what I am getting next?!

"Big" sweet floral.... At first spray I thought, ahhhh, the 80's. And Rumba seems fitting to the scent. The sweetness isn't syrupy/sugary like the candied sweet gourmands of today. It's a honey sweet that is really dominated by the flowers. Honestly, this is a refreshing change from some of the "modern day" frags. The longevity is nice since you can still detect the layers of the scent several hours later.... And have you noticed the price?! So far, I am very pleased with Ted Lapidus...

I love it, I love it !!! ... As olga1780 said, I love Rumba by Balenciaga and also (a little less) by Ted Lapidus, but Rumba Passion is far better. Great sillage and longevity ! Strong, sweet ... another new love ! Very good Ted Lapidus !!!

olga1780

This is such a beauty! I am very surprised no one has reviewed it yet. I like the original Rumba, but Rumba Passion is so much better to my nose. It keeps the base of the original Rumba and maintains a classic style, but the top notes of red lipstick rose, honey and jasmine turn it into a sultry and indeed very passionate and delicious fragrance. After hours of huge projection and longevity, the dry down is identical to Rumba. Awesome stuff!

I want this one real bad too!!!!!
