Loving that there is a color for winning!! Putting my guess/bet on it being blue as well; if we get a new costume for SEIMEI I think it will still have gold in it.

Just a thought as Yulia's retirement news came out, it became the top trending news in Japan yesterday as she was very much adored in Japan with her skating and I believe also partly due to her cute interaction with Yuzuru. I think journalists, when they have the opportunity, will probably ask him to comment on her retirement.

I doubt they will (she's not Team Japan, and Yuzu and her were barely seen together in competitions they both were in), but if they do ask, Yuzu will probably comment on the health aspect, considering how tough and important it is, and since health reasons are why she retires at only 19.

Ultimately Yuzuru was the one who made the decision; not having performed LGC as well as he liked gave him a negative image associated with this program; not a good mindset that the Olympic Championship should have heading into the season. I am glad he talked candidly in that interview so that no one will dwell on any unsavoury consipiracy theories and instead look forward to both programs.

It's Semptember, the month of Autumn Classics! :yahoo:

This is the extract from Oda's interview in "Memorial" published on August 26. (the blog doesn't have the whole interview either)

http://junjunjun2112.com/archives/20145940.html

--How did you see Hanyu's fights (in the last season)?

There was the worry of the injury before the season started, and he was also forced to withdraw from Japanese nationals due to influenza, there might have been various trials for him but I feel the season itself didn't have ups and downs (twists and turns) very much.

Of course, there were some errors through the season, but he recovered them well showing high quality in other elements. In the Worlds, he got gold medal with perfect performance, he was really great (laugh). In the first half of the season, he seemed to be struggling in doing 4S in the latter half of the program. But as the season went to the latter half, he had gotten more consistency on it and could execute it beautifully. I think this fact gave him confidence toward the next season.

--How did you feel about his FS in the Worlds (this year)?

He is the type of person who is rather fuled up in the adversity (laugh). I was feeling he would be all right if he was staying in the last group after SP. Sure I wanted him to skate well in SP, but (I believed) he would do it in FS. But I didn't expect he could skate it that perfect, so I thought "amazing" from my heart.

--It was dramatic.

He is the true star (laugh). It was like "The star is right here!". He can bear the time of "he might not win" and show all his strengths, which is his great aspect as an athlete.

Thank you for posting and the translators!

Now I get why Japanese fans were talking about new CM, I think this was the source. If he filmed it in his training outfit, what kind of CM will it be? Is it going to be for ANA or Ajinomoto? (or Under Armour?)

Under armour should seriously consider getting him to do a CM, I almost brought a pair of expensive earphone of Under armour yesterday... ... thinking: the logo seems so familiar , expensive and good looking...

Finally I found "Figure skate magazine (BB Mook)" at the bookstore today and read Brian Orser's interview, and I can say this is MUST read. I also read "Memorial" and "Kiss&Cry" but I chose to buy BB mook. I hope precious translator, gladi, will be working on this one, as a Japanese fan, I always thank her so much for her effort and beautiful works. If I translated this interview, it would take me a few weeks to finish it because of the lack of my English ability and time :drama:

One thing I can say is that Orser is very confident in reusing SEIMEI. He said again and again that people (including the judges) would love it since the program looked fresh and Yuzuru was in the higher level now than two years ago, he also said he liked SEIMEI better than H&L.

Orser also mentioned,
・Yuzuru cut some choreos when he was working with Shae-Lynn and the step sequence became more delicate.
・He is glad that Yuzuru comes and talks to him positively now because the communication is very important especially in the Olympic season.
・Yuzuru has been testing 4Lz and 4A, but not much 4F. They have about two more weeks before they decide on the layout, they have to think what to do in the Olympics, nothing has been confirmed yet but it all depends on Yuzuru himself. They know they have to be smart and strategic.
・After SP in the Worlds this year, he and Tracy tried Yuzuru to pace down in the practice because he always has too many run-throughs after the bad result. They told him to believe in his daily training and Yuzuru listened to them, and it worked well. (I remember he left the rink earlier than usual on that day)

So my take after reading about the jumps, Yuzuru was thinking of not doing 4Lz at the time of media days, but Orser was not sure  The book has also Yuzuru's interview, he said he studied a lot for school in spring and summer and he liked anatomy.

As I said in the post above, I read the original article today and it said it took only 7 minutes to shoot CM, so I'm guessing now it may be for some fluffs for Fuji TV or Asahi :sad21: (ANA is still possible, maybe?) Under armour CM is also my dream :luv17:

I forgot to add that Orser said Yuzuru had tried new hydro-blading in one Sunday practice session, and he did it very well. When they were working on it, other skaters joined and Yuzuru taught them how to do it, Yuzuru laughed a lot and looked having fun :)
