Some good news, Carnival Row fans: We finally know when new episodes will arrive. The bad news? It’s not returning for Season 3 at Prime Video.
TVLine has learned that the fantasy series starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne will end with Season 2, which is set to premiere on Friday, Feb. 17, 2023; new installments of the 10-episode final season will stream weekly. (Season 1 was previously released on Aug. 30, 2019.)
The streamer also unveiled the first trailer for the show’s farewell run, which you can check out above, as well as a new poster (see below).
Season 2 picks up with ex-inspector Rycroft Philostrate aka Philo (Bloom) “investigating a series of gruesome murders stoking social tension,” per the official synopsis. “Vignette Stonemoss (Delevingne) and the Black Raven plot payback for the unjust oppression inflicted by The Burgue’s human leaders, Jonah Breakspear (Arty Froushan) and Sophie Longerbane (Caroline Ford).”
Meanwhile, Tourmaline (Karla Crome) “inherits supernatural powers that threaten her fate and the future of The Row.” Plus, after escaping The Burgue and her vengeful brother Ezra (Andrew Gower), Imogen Spurnrose (Tamzin Merchant) and her partner Agreus Astrayon (David Gyasi) “encounter a radical new society which upends their plans. With humans and fae folk divided and freedom on the line, each hero will face impossible dilemmas and soul-defining tests” in the conclusion of Carnival Row.
Bummed that Carnival Row is coming to an end? Tell us in the comments.
This was such a great show. I’m going to have to rewatch the first season considering how long it’s been. Not surprised by season 2 being the end. But I’ll enjoy it when it comes out.
Okay TVLINE, how many video adds are you going to put on a single page? I had four load on me with just this one, one in the article, one when I scrolled down halfway and now I have two playing simultaneously on their corner of my screen… I get the need for advertising, but geeze
Sound like a highly unusual ad experience; you are invited to send screenshots to Feedback@tvline.com , so our team of technicians can properly assess. Thank you.
This is why I have chrome set to keep tvline muted. Noisy ads and autoplaying videos shouldn’t happen – though, admittedly, videos dont seem to autoplay as often as they did, it seemed like every article did it at one point.
I have Ad Block on my Firefox
That’s something. I had given up on it and Taboo ever returning for their second seasons. I read Taboo won’t even start production on season 2 until late 2023.
Seriously the wait for Taboo has been the most insane
I hope they knew this before they finished writing S2. We deserve a nice wrap-up, no cliffhangers!
You’re so on point! We deserve a proper ending just for waiting 3 plus years!
I hope they make a recap video for season 1, since I don’t remember any of it.
I’d say that this is one of the longest Covid delays any show has had (as far as I’ve seen). That said, I will definitely have to rewatch season 1 as I wouldn’t be able to tell you one single thing about this show.
I’m sure interest has waned (I don’t remember it being very popular either), it’s probably not cheap to produce and with Cara Delevingne having a few issues lately, it really isn’t surprising.
I can only hope they give it a proper ending without a cliffhanger though!
Orville was pretty long

That is sad news. It is such a unique show and the cast is great.
Not shocked. They took 4 years…
I just hope they knew that they weren’t going to get a season 3 so they can wrap everything up.
It’s bad enough that we’ve had to anticipate Carnival Row for so long hoping this month will be the release of season 2. Now we are finally getting to realistically look forward to season 2 and we’re told they can’t bother to do a season 3 is really heartbreaking. I understand the actors have moved on but those of us that love this genre have so few opportunities to get to enjoy a quality series like this‼️‼️‼️
Four years per season, wasn’t Carnival Row, already cancelled?
Producers really don’t want any successful programs.😷✍️
They killed it by taking so dang long. It’s ridiculous how many shows got screwed. This was a good show and it should’ve had more than 2 dang seasons.
Amen. Also I think it was a Phillip Dick story.. Started w a little girl, who is her own mother. It had connecting stories, about the town, who lived over a power source.🤔
This makes me so mad they waited forever to come back out only to cancel it! They really dropped the ball with this one …it had a chance to really be great SMH. Even could’ve had spinoff based on some of the relationships that bloomed no pon intended…Just hope they do season 2 justice.
It will be almost 4 years since we last saw Carnival Row. Who remembers what happened? Adding only one more season just doesn’t make sense. I doubt I’ll be watching as there is so much newer, fresher content available.
Another original great show cancelled Hollywood MM ain stream brain trust sux
This is one of h Ty e best fantasy programmmes I’ve watched in years. Love, detective and social commentary for what is happening now in the world. I hope Netflix picks it up like they did Lucifer. Please don’t let this one be the end.
Well this is a real shame that Carnival Row is ending.
I thought it was a great steampunk show with a bright future.
Is another network interested or is that not the way Amazon rolls?
Sad times.
So…the Handmaid’s Tale can go on to season 50 while Carnival Row only gets 2? Wow! I’m not in a happy place right now. SMH
I’m like the others waited forever. I’m hoping there is enough response that they would consider adding a 3rd season or a spin off.
This was such a great show! It had it all, suspense, mystery, fantasy, quality up the roof!!!
They take all the good shows away. American gods and now this?
This storyline has so much potential, it is a shame it’s being canceled. Might be worth considering on that decision.
