The CW's The Flash recently announced it's pausing production on the speedster series due to a positive coronavirus (COVID-19) test.

The infected individual was a team member on set who was asymptomatic, as confirmed by Deadline. The infected individual was suspended from set to quarantine while the rest of the team begins contact tracing to ensure anyone who came into contact with them is also tested. Due to this discovery, The CW is now reevaluating its Winter production schedule.

Resuming filming is dependent on other team members' test results so that the cast and crew can determine if it's possible to finish filming without those infected on set. Filming initially resumed for the series on Oct. 1, with the series' Season 7 set to debut on Feb. 23 on The CW. Season 6 was cut short due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as well, resulting in the season-ending without defeating its main antagonists, which is a first for The Flash.

Season 7 is expected to split its time between both Mirror Master and Godspeed. The scarlet speedster will continue his adventures without the Elongated Man, following Hartley Sawyer's firing in June due to racist tweets. Caitlin Snow's character (Danielle Panabaker) will return in the latter part of Season 7 as the actor is currently on maternity leave.

The official synopsis for The Flash's Season 7 is below.

After a thrilling cliffhanger last season which saw the new Mirror Master (Efrat Dor) victorious and still-at-large in Central City, The Flash must regroup in order to stop her and find a way to make contact with his missing wife, Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton). With help from the rest of Team Flash, which includes superheroes Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) and Nash Wells (Tom Cavanagh), as well as the Flash’s adoptive father Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), Meta-Attorney Cecile Horton (Danielle Nicolet), tough cub reporter Allegra Garcia (Kayla Compton) and brilliant tech-nerd Chester P. Runk (Brandon McKnight)... Flash will ultimately defeat Mirror Master. But in doing so, he’ll also unleash an even more powerful and devastating threat on Central City: one that threatens to tear his team—and his marriage—apart.

The Flash stars Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Jesse L. Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes and Tom Cavanagh. Season 7's premiere date is currently being evaluated by The CW. All six seasons of the series are currently streaming on Netflix.
