We Shouldn't

Bennett Fox walked into my life on one hell of a crappy Monday morning.

I was late for the first day at my new job—a job I’d now have to compete for even though I’d already worked eight years to earn it, because of an unexpected merger.

While I lugged my belongings up to my new office, a meter maid wrote me a parking summons.

She’d ticketed a long line of cars—except for the Audi parked in front of me, which happened to be the same make and model as mine.

Annoyed, I decided to regift my ticket to the car that had evaded a fine. Chances were, the owner would pay it and be none the wiser.

Except, I accidentally broke the windshield wiper while slipping the ticket onto the car’s window.

Seriously, my day couldn’t get any worse.

Things started to perk up when I ran into a gorgeous man in the elevator. We had one of those brief moments that only happened in movies.

You know the deal…your body lights up, fireworks go off, and the air around you crackles with electricity.

His heated stare left me flush when I stepped off the elevator.

Maybe things here wouldn’t be so bad after all.

Or so I thought.

Until I walked into my new boss’s office and met my competition.

The gorgeous man from the elevator was now my nemesis. His heated stare wasn’t because of any mutual attraction. It was because he’d seen me vandalize his car. And now he couldn’t wait to annihilate his rival.

There’s a fine line between love and hate—and we shouldn’t cross it.

We shouldn’t—but straddling that line could be so much fun.

2 stars.

Where to start with this one... where to start....

I'm gonna start with an analogy.

In my professional life I'm an art director at an advertising agency, so I make and critique creative work for a living. Exactly like the characters in this book. If I came to work with the same thing day after day, used the same old ideas, and brought nothing new to the table I would be f.i.r.e.d. Simple as that.

To be blunt... if Vi Keeland were my employee I would fire her. Sorry if I sound elitist, but that’s the best way I can put it. I'm sick and tired of the same one dimensional characters and the predictable tropes time after time. Its why my first few reads of hers was 5-4 stars, and as time goes on where we all become less impressed with whats already been done to death, to then rate the last few books 2-3 stars or not even bothering to give it my time at all.

For example:

Heroine: "God, you're such an insensitive asshole." *blushes*
Hero: 'sexy' arrogant smirk "Thanks, I cant argue with the truth."

AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT IS SO GODDAM TIRED OF THIS DIALOGUE THAT IS USED

IN

EVERY

SINGLE

BOOK!!!

I honestly feel like im going insane. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Let me just air the rest of my grievances and y'all can be on your way.

The hero: What a fucking bitch. The worst type of male protagonist in this day and age. Entitled, egotistic, misognist at times... OH! and he constantly made side comments about the heroine how she was a whore and only got clients because she slept with them. Lets also throw in a bunch of random women names throughout the story to let us know he was, in fact, the slut. He gets to have a great sex life without judgement while also being at the top of his career. Does he need a pent house? Sure why not. Cause thats apparently how real men live.

The heroine: She was a deep dive in a shallow pool. Lets list off the top 3 things we need in a heroine

1. Bad past relationship that lasted yeaaarrssssss and she never enjoyed the sex or received oral sex. Oh, and of course ex-boyfirend cheated on her for years
2. Always comes in second place to the hero, career wise.
3. Betraying body alert, so when the hero says something nasty to her while also making a sexual advance, she just becomes a puddle of estrogen. Hero gets to win every single argument in this 'love and hate romance.'
Bonus round!!! She needs to make a complete fool of herself when she first meets the hero.

Can we at least give the heroine a fighting chance? Is it so goddam hard to write a female character that doesnt have a bad past sex life?!?! Youre telling me 28 year old woman living in San Fran couldn't bother to find anybody else in a city of millions?!?! Well the hero can apparently. Why cant the heroine?

And last but not least... the heroine has to have her life in mortal peril for the hero to realize he loves her and he wants a committed relationship with her.

Fuck this. Ya fired Ms Keeland. This book does not spark joy.

Why did it deserve 2 stars? Well, at least Miss Keeland knows proper grammar an punctuation.

Safe I guess:
Author hints that hero might have gone to an ex hook up after he started to have feelings for the heroine but it was never confirmed or denied.
Heroine was of course celibate for months after her breakup.
No OW drama. Ex boyfriend comes back a few times to bother the h.
No seperation.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

”Thank you for loving me even when I hated myself.” My heart let out a big sigh. That’s the thing about love. We don’t fall in love with the perfect person; we fall in love despite a person’s imperfections.

WE SHOULDN’T is an “enemies to lovers” office romance between two co-workers competing for the same job at their advertising agency. Bennett is a sexy, overly cocky, ladies man, who doesn’t believe in relationships. Annalise is the beautiful and sweet new co-worker who’s nursing a broken heart after being dumped on Valentine’s day. Bennett and Anna get off to a rocky start and things between them become even more strained when they learn they are rivals for the same job.

The sexual tension between them was a bit torturous and drawn out a little too long for my taste, and Bennett wasn't a Hero that I found easy to love in the beginning. There were hints that he had gone through something tragic that obviously impacted his inability to commit to a woman and it was his endearing relationship with his twelve-year-old godson that humanized Bennett for me. He was a very frustrating character and his constant push and pull behavior towards Anna was borderline tiresome.

Once Bennett shows his vulnerability, the book became nearly impossible to put down. Bennett turned into the swoon-worthy Hero he was always meant to be.

Here are my overall ratings:

Hero: 4.5
Heroine: 4.5
Plot: 4
Angst: 4
Steam: 5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5

➽ KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

‘WE SHOULDN'T' Is a full length, standalone, sexy enemies-to-lovers office romance novel by Vi Keeland, spoken in 'Dual Perspectives'

There may be a fine line between love and hate..But straddling that line can be so much fun. ❝I haven’t been able to focus on anything since the day you walked into the office. You’ve starred in all my fantasies, even when I tried to hate you.❞

The company Annalise has worked for straight out of college has just recently merged with another Ad agency in San Francisco, which in itself has caused some major upheavals which has led to her pitching herself against another competitor within the merged company this is where thirty one year old Bennett Fox enters into the equation, he's the guy she'll be going head to head with. One will land the job in San Francisco the other will be transferred to Texas.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Already having put ten years he'd started out as a graphic artist and had worked his way up to creative director so he was pretty strong in his belief that he'll kick her ass all the way to Texas, he's got this job in the bag, there was no way he'd be the one moving to Texas.

What wasn't there to enjoy about this book, as soon as I started it I was giggling, then swooning, then we're thrown into a few heartwarming moments, it wasn't hard to fall in love with the storyline. Vi Keeland really finds us asshole alpha male characters and Bennett Fox was no different. He had no filter, pretty much what popped in his head made its way out of his mouth which made for an entertaining read. One minute you wanted to throttle him, the next you ended up loving him.

❝He's an arrogant, condescending, cartoon drawing, job stealing pain in the ass. ❞

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The heroine Annalise O'Neil was a gullible, quirky, sassy character who was taking a break from a long term relationship. You couldn't help but not like her character, when these two officially meet the sparks start flying instantly, the attraction right behind it, which sizzled off the pages.
❝ I'd let myself start to think that beneath the arrogant Beast was some sort of misunderstood Prince Charming. Sometimes a beast is just a beast, no matter how many layers you peel back.❞
What started out as a challenging competition between the two as they battled it out for the job became a relationship neither saw coming, these two together were just utter perfection.

Annalise O'Neil is a beautiful woman living in San Francisco who is recently on a "break" from her boyfriend of eight years. While her love life is uncertain, her career is the one thing in her life that she can always count on. She's worked hard to earn her place at Wren Media, and now they are merging with one of the largest ad agencies in the U.S., Foster Burnett. They would now be Foster, Burnett and Wren. Her first day at her new job so far wasn't going smoothly. She was late, and received a parking ticket to start the day off right. The car in front of hers was an Audi almost identical to hers. It didn't have a ticket, so she decided to regift her ticket, but accidentally breaks the windshield wiper. Then things finally begin to get better when she locks eyes with a delicious stranger in the elevator. This encounter puts a smile on her face until she walks into her new boss's office and meets her new rival, aka hot elevator guy. To make matters worse, he'd seen her vandalize his car.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Bennett Fox has made a name for himself as the regional creative director at Foster Burnett. Now Wren Media is currently moving into their building, and they are to become one team. This includes sharing space with his counterpart from Wren, who is vying for his same position. They are to work together and put on a united front for their clients. He needed to be professional around the stunning blonde, but couldn't quit fantasizing about the competition. There's a fine line between love and hate, and it explodes as their chemistry heats up.

READ MY REVIEW ON THE BLOG

I'm utterly smitten with Vi Keeland's writing. I had so much fun with WE SHOULDN'T - it was everything I wanted it to be multiplied by 10. It started out with a laugh-out-loud scene and those were generously sprinkled throughout the story.

In this romance novel we meet Annalise and Bennett who are adversaries, competing for the same job after the merger of their former employers. To say I loved these two characters is a major understatement. Annalise is a beautiful, a little quirky, tender-hearted young woman who made Bennett a better man by leading by example. Although she was competitive she had a fairness and decency about her that couldn't be overlooked. And Bennett didn't.
"Underneath all the tough exterior was a man with a giant, soft heart. "

He comes across like a bit of a douche in the beginning, trying to one-up Annalise at every turn but we know it's always much more complex than that because along the way you'll find out that there is a decent man hidden under the snark and cocky attitude. He looked out for Annalise and although it was bound to be complicated they became friends. Yes, there is a lot of push and pull happening on Bennett's part but there was always an underlying feel of him caring immensely for his combatant so it didn't bother me all that much..
"I didn’t see you coming, Texas. Didn’t see you coming."

I loved loved LOVED Bennett's inner monologues, I busted a gut laughing at him. His confusion about his feelings and attraction for Annalise were adorable...and damn he was ovaries-destroying in bed. Vi Keeland really made me wait for their first time - there was so much pent up sexual energy between them that I knew it would be explosive.

Two more things I absolutely adored: Annalise narrating her driving - of course it was sex where Bennett's mind wandered when he learned about it. The other thing was his relationship with his godson. There is nothing sweeter than a man who loves kids.

This office romance is also an enemies to lovers story that is perfectly executed with humor and just enough heartache to make your heart go pitter-patter. Go, pick up WE SHOULDN'T, I promise you'll have a good time.
"Thank you for loving me even when I hated myself.”

Annalise's ad company has just merged with another ad company in San Francisco.
Several problems with that. Now she has to drive into work, instead of walk. And she hates cars. And now she has to fight for her job. She has to be better than the new guy or she'll be sent to work in Texas.

Enter Bennett.

description

He's the new guy. Or rather, Annalise is the new girl in his company.

And if they weren't fighting for the same job - this whole fighting thing would be pretty fun. Well, it still is fun. But what happens when fun arguing turns into liking and then even more?

And then someone has to leave for Texas?

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO ANNALISE & BENNETT??
WiLL THERE BE A HAPPILY EVER AFTER?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

First of all... the COVER! Yum! What is it with Vi and Penelope and their covers?? Where do they find these guys?!?! Jeez! ☺

The story was cute and fun. An adorable office enemies to lovers thing.

BUT - we also have some very serious & sad parts surrounding our two darlings.

Bennett is worried about his godson. The eleven year old boy has to live with his idiot grandmother.

Bennett can't leave Lucas behind to go work in Texas.

And Annalise. She was just left by her boyfriend of eight years.

This was such a cute story. I loved reading it.

Bennett is such a guy! A very sexy and sweet guy. But the way the argue and fight and flirt at work ... hilarious.

Funny moments and adorable moments plus a few heartbreaking moments = perfect romance!

WE SHOULDN'T was an adorable & funny & sexy & moving enemies-to-lovers-office romance! Run to your nearest amazon to get your own Bennett - this one is so MINE!

Snarky perfection…

I love this author’s way of displaying the worst – and best – of her characters while entertaining me all the while. Bennett is commitment-phobic and work-centric but he is much more than that. He is not one-dimensional; instead, he is layers and layers of depth that come out in surprises for me as well as him! Annalise is beautiful, talented and full of spice. She is good without being too sweet or cloying and not afraid to admit her foibles with refreshing, and sometimes embarrassing, honesty. Together, they are romantic gold as they fight, bicker, support and oh, fall in love…

This hero and heroine are hilariously funny at times with a back and forth laced with sarcastic, sparky dialogue that had me hanging on every word. Their emotions are on full display and invited me to share each and every one. And I did! I laughed a lot at their antics but they also took my breath away at times at their brutal honesty and heartbreaking humanity…

A few enticing twists and turns of the heart, heat (oh the heat!) and laugh-out loud humour meant this was a one-sitting read that ended much too quickly. I cannot wait for more from this author whose stories have become my jam, peanut butter and every slice of bread in the world! ~Diane, 5 Texas stars

This started off okay I guess. Then it quickly went downhill. It’s an enemies-to-lovers book but come on, authors there’s a thin line between bickering and being a straight up asshole. It was all fun and games up until Bennett’s insults became really hurtful and unacceptable. Bennett and Annalise’s relationship dragged. Oh God. The book dragged so much and I think it’s one of the slowest paced NAs I’ve ever read. At first it was slow but acceptable. Then, it became so boring I literally had to push myself to read it. At some point I started skimming over unnecessary scenes. I just lost interest at some point and I didn’t care about frankly, anything.

Buddy read with my Marami. 💖

Bennett Fox; was smart and handsome and a successful career ahead of him until he is forced to work harder for his position.   When his company merged with another one, what started as a challenge and competition became a relationship he totally didn't see coming.

I'd spent half of my life building a million obstacles to put in the way of love.  Yet when I met Annalise, all the hurdled did was show me how much she was worth jumping over every one of them.

Annalise O'Neil was taking a break from an eight year relationship.  She was sad and naive about what she thought love was until she was forced by her new co worker to see the truth.  As much as Annalise wanted to hate Bennett for being a jerk and trying to win her job she saw more than what he was trying to portrait.

❝ Underneath all the tough exterior was a man with a giant, soft heart.

I honestly can't remember the last time I giggled so much, my cheeks hurts from grinning and laughing.  I utterly enjoyed this book to the fullest.  Bennett is a character you couldn't helped but to for fall in love with.  With his broken soul and his inability to feel worthy of love you just want to heal him.  He hides behind his cocky personality but he can't help showing that he cares for others with his actions.

Such a complex man, with scars inside that ran a lot deeper than the one on the outside.

We Shouldn't is a slow burn office romance; I found it refreshing, funny, steamy and I love the feels it delivered with Bennett's backstory.  The author did an excellent job keeping the readers in suspense trying to figure out his past.  The writing was excellent, I found it hard to put it down; I fell in love with the story itself and all the characters. Between Bennett and Annalise fighting to keep their job in San Francisco we get to see them work together and fight like no other.   I loved their chemistry and the way Bennett could tease Annalise so easy, it was so funny to read.  Overall; readers who enjoy slow burn romance with some fun and steamy scenes but with feels will find this book very appealing.

The beginning of this book was an instant catch for me. I mean... usually it takes a while for me to become interested in a book, but this one got me interested from the beginning!
I liked the connection the main 2 characters had and even the story. I’m so used to reading about an office romance, that I thought nothing would surprise me anymore. But I was pleasantly surprised when this book proved me wrong.
I missed reading a 5 stars book! And We shouldn’t brought back this feeling to me! ❤️
Also: Bennett’s doodles 😂 so funny...
And that cover! It was pure perfection. 👌

Ummmm…. Vi Keeland, I think you titled this book wrong. It shouldn’t be We Shouldn’t but We Should. We definitely should read this fun, highly entertaining, and oh so swoony read. This book had all the composition of a great romantic comedy with a little heat and spice thrown into the mix. A must read for anyone looking for romance that had sarcastic humor, banter, playfulness and of course that romance that will leave you smiling big.

Your standard competing for one job office romance. The thing is there isn’t very much angst between the characters. There’s a bit of fun heated tension, but this story is mostly about the hero Bennett getting over his hangups and realizing his feelings and who he is underneath his layers of masks. Annalise is just a good heroine. She’s not too quirky. She’s not too tough. She just is those things but in a normal dosage. I liked her, but she didn’t STAND OUT, and neither did Bennett. The story is good. It flows. It is a good read it just didn’t blow me away.

I think my real issue is that I LOVED Sex, Not Love by this author so unexpectedly much, and I compare everything she writes to that book now. I don’t know if she will top it in my eyes. I hope she does because I LOVEDDDDD that book. I will continue to read her, because everything she writes is an easy read.

I am between 2 and 3 stars for this book.

Vi Keeland books promising a sexy, cute and fun push and pull/ banter. We Shouldn't have her signature. However, I found it boring and dry. The story and the plot is predictable. Its like Miss Keeland runs out of idea and repeating old formula.

I decide to round it down to 2 stars. What a disappointment.

5 ‘you totally should’ stars

OMG, I love, love, love this book! Sexy and smart with sensational banter, fantastic chemistry and a gorgeously emotional love story, this enemies-to-lovers office romance absolutely blew me away and I loved every moment of the ride and couldn’t put it down.

Bennett Fox and Annalise O'Neil meet in less than ideal circumstances. Firstly, there’s an unfortunate yet hilarious incident with Bennett’s car, and then they learn that they are competing for the same job following the merger of their two companies. There is only space for one of them – with the other being transferred from San Francisco to Texas, and their work over the coming months will decide their fate.

It’s a perfect enemies-to-lovers set up, and there’s some fantastic teasing and taunting, but I never truly felt the ‘enemy’ thing. Sure, there is animosity and they are fighting for their careers, but with their enforced close working relationship it doesn’t take long before they get to know each other and become reluctant friends, and everything snowballs from there.

“Yeah, that's a great idea. Sleep with the guy who's trying to steal my job.”
“Why not? You know that old saying...keep your friends close and fuck the shit out of your enemies.”
“That's not exactly the saying.”

There is attraction, teasing and fantastically fun flirting. Annalise is coming out of a relationship and Bennett, despite his anti-relationship stance, is the irritating but strangely helpful voice of reason. He’s the typically overconfident alpha hero, and Annalise should hate him, but she sees so much more to him than what he shows, and she can’t help but be drawn to him.

Sometimes his confidence made me want to smack him. Apparently other times it made me want to strip naked.

As for Bennett, he’s feeling it all for Annalise, but he has a painful past that he still feels guilt over and he tries to avoid romantic entanglements, believing himself undeserving. Plus, one of them will be moving in the coming months. Their situation is hopeless, but their chemistry will not be denied.

“Are you afraid I’ll fuck your trade secrets out of you?”
She mimicked my move and leaned in to whisper in my ear. “No. Are you?”

The sexual tension is fantastic, and the build-up is awesome, enhanced by the love/hate thing they have going on. But what I loved the most is the emotional connection that develops between Bennett and Annalise that makes their relationship so much more than just a workplace hook-up. Of course they want each other badly, and the frenemy thing they have going on creates an added dimension to their chemistry, but they don’t jump in to anything and by the time they do, they (and the reader) is so ready for it. It’s a delicious slow burn and so much fun, and OMG it’s so freaking hot!

Some men say the sexiest thing a woman can do is to talk dirty or submit to them, but they obviously haven’t had their hair pulled and face ridden by a woman who currently hates their guts. Nothing. Fucking. Sexier. In. The. World.

We know where the story is going to go, it’s just a matter of sitting back and watching it all play out, and I enjoyed every single moment. There are ups and downs, more hotness, a surprising amount of feels and a whole lot of soul-searching to be done, but the build-up is perfectly done, creating a wonderful sense of anticipation as we wait for Bennett and Annalise to find their way to where they are supposed to be.

“I haven’t been able to focus on anything since the day you walked into the office. You’ve starred in all my fantasies, even when I tried to hate you.”

It’s not an original story, and yes, it’s predictable, but the writing is fantastic and it’s exactly what I was in the mood for when I picked it up so it totally worked for me and I freaking loved it! It's natural, it flows, I laughed so many times at their banter, I felt all the feels along with them as they figured everything out, and OMG, did I swoon!

God knows why the hell she'd given me her heart, but I had no intention of ever giving it back.

The audiobook is perfectly narrated by Andie Arndt and Sebastian York, and I’m so glad I listened to this book! They bring so much to these characters, and made listening to the story such a fantastic experience.

I absolutely loved it, one of my faves by Vi Keeland.

5 stars!

Holy. Buckets. Y’all, Vi Keeland may have just outdone herself. No, seriously. I am tempted to say that this is my favorite Vi Keeland book to date, but am afraid that would be a kneejerk statement based on the way my heart is fluttering and my pulse is pounding and my feels are all over the place in the best way. Oh, and also? My smile. SO BIG right now. Which is basically the mark of any truly great book, no?

So, let’s just go with it: We Shouldn’t is my favorite Vi Keeland book to date.

And, that’s saying something because enemies-to-lovers is not always my favorite trope, but this one was just brilliantly executed. I’m not sure that Bennett and Annalise were ever completely enemies. The lines were always a little blurry, even from their very first meeting.

Enemies? Sure. Sometimes.
Lovers? Definitely. Sometimes.
Chemistry? 100%. Fire. Always.

Whether they were hating each other or loving each other, the sparks flying between Bennett and Annalise were no joke, and it was impossible not to get caught up in their connection.

On top of that, they were so adorably playful and fun together. Bennett was no angel, and he came off as a complete jerk sometimes, but Annalise was no wilting violet and she could give as good as she took. I adored her sass, but I adored her big, beautiful, open heart even more. As playful and sizzling as it could be, there was also a fair bit of emotion, and some minor twists I didn’t see coming. I wasn’t always sure how their story was going to play out, and in the end it didn’t play out the way I would have imagined it. But I loved it. I loved it so much. My heart was so full and happy and fairly bursting with feelings over this book.

In all? We Shouldn’t was just pure pleasure. It was utterly addictive. It was romantic and swoony, and sexy as all get-out. It made my heart ache and it made my heart race and it made my heart do that giddy, fluttery, bubbly thing that feels just like falling in love. It was a practically perfect reading experience and I cannot recommend it highly enough! ~ Shelly, 5 Stars

Oh my! Who doesn’t love a smart, sexy, fun, fantastic enemies-to-lovers romance? We Shouldn’t is one of the best I’ve read!

In one corner, there’s Bennett. Confirmed bachelor for life. He’s not one to really go for seconds with anyone. He’s a “love ‘em and leave ‘em” kind of guy. Sure, he loves women. Loves spending some time with them—in and out of the bedroom. But nothing serious. Nothing long term. And certainly nothing that may be construed as love. And as much as he loves women, he loves his job more. He’s brilliant at what he does, and he’s not one to back down from a challenge.

Enter Annalise. Annalise is young, beautiful, smart, and career driven—much like Bennett. She’s worked her way up quickly in her current firm, and she’s not going down without a fight. She’s fun, confident and, though maybe a bit naïve when it comes to relationships, she’s not afraid of falling in love with the right man, but Bennett may just be the perfect man for “right now”—even if they’re competing for the same job.

Seriously, these two are a match made in heaven. Bennett and his snarky, sometimes snide, sometimes brutal comments and views on relationships tried my patience at times. But I loved how Annalise didn’t back down and went toe-to-toe with him both in and out of the bedroom. Honestly, it did take a bit of time for me to warm up to them together—to get beyond their work competition and buy into their relationship, but in the end, I was swooning. ~ Missy, 4 stars

5 'Texas' Stars!

One of my top favorite books by Vi Keeland, that is for sure! An outstanding enemies-to-lovers story, full of banter, back and forth, sexual tension, emotions and a whole lot of sizzling chemistry. I always jump right in when it comes to Vi's creations. She is an auto-buy author to me and her works just click with my taste in romance novels. We Shouldn't was no exception, I simply adored every second of this story!

“I haven’t been able to focus on anything since the day you walked into the office,” he said. “You’ve starred in all my fantasies, even when I tried to hate you.”

This starts when two companies merge together and that forces Bennett Fox and Annalise O'Neil to "fight" for the same position. Bennett is quite a ladies man (amazing and typical Vi's type of hero) and Annalise is on a break from her long time boyfriend (again, typical kick-ass Vi's heroine). Well.. all that chemistry during their arguments in the job turns into something else. Something that neither of them expected. Oh yeah, the sex is oh-so-hot (not surprised, at all!) but the feelings make everything so much better! I loved reading how the layers fall when these two are together, and seeing them fall in love HARD. And that beautiful ending.. I melted all over the place!

“I didn’t see you coming, Texas. Didn’t see you coming.”

So I am rating We Shouldn't with 5 STARS because surely Vi Keeland has started 2019 with a hit! She is one of my absolute favorites and she did not disappoint with this one. I loved the relationship between Bennett and Annalise, how it was developed, their mindblowing chemistry and their much deserved HEA! Gah, I am so happy! Guys, if you are fans of enemies-to-lovers romance, I highly recommend you read this one.

I have to be honest...for about the first third of the book, I was getting a bit frustrated with the whole same ol' tired formula but things shifted as we got to know more about Bennett and what happened in his past.

Bennett and Annalise competing against each other for the same position is a been there, done that multiple times BUT...I got such a kick out of Miss Super Organized (yes, I can relate!).

Vi Keeland even manages to give Annalise even more quirks such as narrating her driving which was hilarious and I loved how Bennett called her out on every. single. thing.

My all time favorite thing is in this book and I just LOVE when the hero is totally in love with heroine and doesn't even recognize it. It was great seeing Bennett fall.

Like I said earlier, there is more depth to this office romance and it kept a tired plot from going south. I liked how things weren't left one way or the other even if some of it was predictable.

DNF @ 8% coz meh.

H&h were competing for same marketing lead position since both their companies merged into 1 big one. Didn't like that H appeared alpha-dominant but work-wise he was not the alpha-boss. h was an equal competitor. Sounded like a typical Hallmark movie but, I'm sure, with sex scenes. May try this book again later.
