IN THE BEGINNING...

They told them they were evil.
They told them they were possessed by demons.
They told them that darkness ran in their veins.

Holy Innocents Home for Children is a haven for orphaned boys who have nothing and no one. The priests watch over them, educate them, raise them in the family of the church.

Except for some.

Seven of the orphans are no ordinary boys. They attract the attention of the priests for their acts of violence, of bloodlust. The priests realize these boys are drawn to the darkness.

And the priests are no ordinary priests. They are the Brethren, a secret sect who believe themselves on a divine mission to seek out evil in the boys in their care. Seek it out, and then drive it out.

The seven have fallen from God’s grace. And the Brethren will cleanse their blackened souls…

Dark Contemporary Romance novella. Contains sexual situations, violence, sensitive and taboo subjects, offensive language and topics some may find triggering. Recommended for age 18 years and up.

About the author

Tillie Cole

48 books22.7k followers
Amazon & USA Today Best Selling Author, Tillie Cole, is a Northern girl through and through. She originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny (okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by her English rose mother -- a farmer's daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.
Being a scary blend of Scottish and English, Tillie embraces both cultures; her English heritage through her love of HP sauce and freshly made Yorkshire Puddings, and her Scottish which is mostly demonstrated by her frighteningly foul-mouthed episodes of pure rage and her much loved dirty jokes.

Having been born and raised as a Teesside Smoggie, Tillie, at age nineteen, moved forty miles north to the 'Toon', Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, where she attended Newcastle University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts honours degree in Religious Studies. She returned two years later to complete a Post-Graduate Certificate in Teaching High School Social Studies. Tillie, regards Newcastle to be a home from home and enjoyed the Newcastle Geordie way of life for seven 'proper mint' and 'lush' years.

One summers day, after finishing reading her thousandth book on her much loved and treasured Kindle, Tillie turned to her husband and declared, "D'you know, I have a great idea for a story. I could write a book." Several months later, after repeating the same tired line at the close of another completed story, she was scolded by her husband to shut up talking about writing a novel and "just bloody do it!" For the first time in eleven years, Tillie actually took his advice (he is still trying to get over the shock) and immediately set off on a crazy journey, delving deep into her fertile imagination.

Tillie, ever since, has written from the heart. She combines her passion for anything camp and glittery with her love of humour and dark brooding men (most often muscled and tattooed – they’re her weakness!). She also has a serious side (believe it or not!) and loves to immerse herself in the complex study of World Religions, History and Cultural Studies and creates fantasy stories that enable her to thread serious issues and topics into her writing -- yep, there's more to this girl than profanity and sparkles!

After six years of teaching high school Social Studies and following her Professional Rugby Player husband around Europe, they have finally given up their nomadic way of life and settled in Calgary, Alberta where Tillie spends most of her days (and many a late night) lost in a writing euphoria or pursuing a dazzling career as a barrel-racing, tasselled-chap wearing, Stetson-sporting cowgirl... Ye-haw!

THE FALLEN: Genesis is a prequel novella in The Deadly Virtues Series and MUST be read before RAPHAEL (DV: book one).

Holyshitballs!! I am literally sitting here gobsmacked, there are NO WORDS to describe what I'd actually read!! So freaking GOOD!! Dark, but sick, gritty, but sad, twisted, but unputdownable. I felt all the emotions but LOVE!! There was no room for love in this book.

This right here was a small teaser taste of what's to come, and a whole lot of darkness is going to reign over all of us. Tillie has gone that wee bit darker, that wee bit sicker, and all our dark little souls are rejoicing!!

Insanely gritty, Insanely dark, Insanely unputdownable, Insanely more...

What I love the most about this author is you never really know what to expect, and nothing can prepare you for what she's going to throw at you, this book was no exception, everything she writes turns to gold, unique story after unique story and this one right here was no different.
I can't even say that I'd connected with any of the characters because honestly I didn't, I don't think any readers will, though they will have empathy for Gabriel and his fight against humanity to save his brother. But along the way he encounters other boys just like his brother that above all else he swears to protect.

The fallen forgotten boys consist of: Gabriel, Raphael, Selaphiel, Barachiel, Jegudiel, Uriel and Michael (Gabriel's blood brother)

Holy Innocents was an off the grid home and school for innocent orphaned children in Boston, Massachusetts, run by priests. This is where Gabriel and Michael found themselves at a very young age when their mother died and left them all alone in the world. Since then Gabriel has had one purpose in life other than serving god and that was to take care of his younger brother Michael.

But within their walls life isn't so innocent, within the confines of the church there are seven Seven Deadly Archangels residing within. They have a penchant to kill, it runs through their bloodstream they are hungry for blood.

That. Was. INCREDIBLE!! With this prequel, Tillie Cole not only took my mind down a dark and painful road, but my heart was along for the ride. I read this entire book with my heart constantly in my throat, not knowing what to expect next, and completely devoted to its characters.

Holy Innocents was the home to orphaned children. A residence of the Catholic Church, the priests were their mentors and children were being led down a righteous path. Most turned to the church and became priests themselves. Others... well, let's just say that they weren't full of righteousness. But Holy Innocents holds secrets, ones that can tear a young boy apart, things that can cause disillusionment, and ways that could derail even the most pious of souls. What do you do when all that is good becomes bad?

I loved everything about this story, from the introduction of the seven angels who will be featured in the books to come, the history of the Brethren, and the convoluted motives of the characters. The author did a brilliant job of illustrating the torment these boys suffered through while they took turns twisting my emotions. I don't know what it is about their proclivities that makes them so attractive, but I'm here to learn everything there is to know about them. I'm not sure if happy endings are in the future, but I can't wait to discover where these stories will lead.

*****FIVE+++++++ STARS*****
{ARC Generously Provided by Author}

Michael closed his eyes and fell asleep. But Gabriel didn’t. Instead, he watched his brother and roved his eyes over the rest of the sleeping Fallen. Boys who wanted to kill. Boys who walked in the dark, not the light. Lost boys. Boys with no hope, and no one left in this world.

If the prequel is any indication of how the rest of the ”Deadly Virtues” series is going to be, I can guarantee you this is going to be one of Tillie Cole’s BEST!! She is the queen of darkness. All I can say is that the darkness level of this story is at a TEN++++! The subject matter is raw and will be hard for some readers to endure. There are definitely triggers that may turn some readers away. This book is not for the faint of heart! These characters are going to be ones readers will fall hard for and will hope and pray for their redemption. I am so incredibly excited to find out what Tillie Cole has in store for THE FALLEN and the ”Deadly Virtues” series!!!

Here are my overall ratings:

Heroes: 5
Plot: 5++++++
Darkness: 10++++
Violence: 5

”THE FALLEN: GENESIS” releases on May 30th! Fans of Tillie Cole are in for something truly amazing!!

**** 4.5 Stars!!!!!*****

WOW! I totally devoured this dark prequel! Tillie Cole has done it again and has written a beginning to what promises to be an amazing and addicting series!

It’s definitely not for the faint of heart... it’s dark... and the torture, abuse, and sexual perversion that these young boys go through at the hands of the evil priests is horrific. It was hard to read at times, and yet I am intrigued how this is going to all play out. The thing is that the boys are twisted in their own way. Each has an extreme desire to kill. The only one who doesn’t is Joeseph...aka Gabriel. I feel I have already said too much!!!

I highly recommend this prequel to readers who love dark tales! I dare anyone reading it to try not inhale every word at turbo speed! It has been quite sometime since I have devoured a story so fast. I wish the whole series had been out already because I’m going to hate having to wait for each story to come! I also have an apology to make to my Buddy...I left her behind!!! Sorry Steph!!! I thank you for getting me to read this though! I can’t wait to discuss!❤️

The Fallen is the dark and twisted Prequel to the Deadly Virtues Series. As always, Tillie Cole has crafted a dark world where raw inhibitions rule and the lines between right and wrong are blurred. When a group of boys have been tossed to the wolves to be beaten down and abused, one boy vows to get out and save them all.

“He was Gabriel now. One of the fallen."
The Fallen: Genesis is certainly not for the faint of heart as it is dark and gritty and the torture these boys endure is truly deplorable. I found myself rooting for this band of brothers and completely captivated by their story.
"He was determined."
Overall, The Fallen will appeal to readers who enjoy taking a ride on the dark and twisted side. No doubt, this series will be another blockbuster hit for Ms. Cole. Her complex characters, lyrical text, and action-packed plots always leave me addicted and wanting more!

GAAAH...this book was seriously amazeballs. This was not a surprise to me because this author's SICK FUX book remains one of my favorite dark and twisted books ever. I am leaving this review purposely vague because you really need to go into this one blind. It's twisted. It's dark. It's seriously f-cked up. You will need to watch some cute kitten videos after reading it (#Truth). This prologue is just a short (but info packed) taste of what is coming. It sets the series up perfectly, and I adored every minute.

Bring on Raphael...

I am a HUGE fan of the "Hades Hangmen" series. No one can do "dark romance" the way that Tillie does it. Usually, I skip the short prequels in series, but I knew I HAD to read the introduction to what is bound to be Tillie's new HIT series !

gonna be awesome gif - Google zoeken

Now let me start off by saying, that there isn't anything "romantic" about this novella. It is purely an introduction into the world of "The Fallen".  Gabriel, Michael, Raphael Selaphiel, Barachiel, Jegudiel, and Uriel.

They told them they were evil.
They told them they were possessed by demons.
They told them that darkness ran in their veins.

darkness inside gif - Google zoeken

These boys aren't anything like the regular orphan boys at Holy Innocents. There is a darkness within them, driving them to act in violence. They have been chosen and isolated because of their inner demons... being punished, again and again.

They have no one to stand up for them en to protect them against the real evil that is the Brethren. No one besides Gabriel that is, the purest of them all....and he turns out to be everything they needed...

sacrifice quote - Google zoeken

I advise everyone, who is planning to read this series, to start right here with this little story. It already explains a lot...yet leaves you with so many questions.

I myself have no idea what's in store for us next. It could be anything. I do know that this is just the tip of the iceberg and the best is yet to come. After this little taste, I can't wait to jump into "Raphael's" book.

I need it right now, please !!!

This novella is an introduction into the dark world of this addictive new series.
This is an introduction that sets the stage beautifully in preparation for the upcoming novel Raphael.
Alongside “The Fallen" our Blinkers are removed and we get to experience the brutality that is purgatory (a hidden underground place of hell on earth)
Joseph in a baptism of blood has his eyes savagely opened and finally discovers his true calling as a saviour and protector of his new unorthodox family. Now reborn as there brother Gabriel he will have to earn his place in purgatory along these other lost souls seemingly past all redemption.
beneath the supposed good of these priests, The Brethren lies the true rot and rather than washing away the sins the savagery committed against these Lost Boys only cements this brotherhood in a bond of solidarity.
This was as expected fantastic: I really can't wait to jump in head first to the first book here.
As a taster, this definitely captured my attention so job well done.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of The Fallen: Genesis (Deadly Virtues, #0.5).

Genre: Dark Coming of Age Fiction
Type: Prequel novella from Deadly Virtue series
POV: Third Person
Rating:

Joseph and James Kelly didn’t have an easy childhood. Growing up in an orphanage, Joseph dedicated his life to his God and religion. James was the only family he had left until he found a few others that embodied the same darkness his brother possessed. Because of that, they became a target and Joseph vowed to be their protector no matter the consequences.

It’s been a while since I read a dark book where the author didn’t hold back, so this one completely sated my blackened soul. The story was raw, gritty, disturbing and heartbreaking.

He had to save James. He had to get to James. For that he would have to sin.

This novella introduced readers to the background of how characters in Deadly Virtues series first met. There were bits and pieces of each character and their personalities. I already feel connected to each of them and identified my favorite.

"Seven for the deadly sins, and seven for the heavenly virtues that would aid in his redemption."

The Fallen: Genesis is a prequel novella of the origin story for the characters in Deadly Virtues series. I’m looking forward to the darkness this series promises.

*** 4 The Seven Deadly Sins STARS ***

"Seven, one for each of the Fallen and the mortal sins Gabriel knew they would one day commit. Seven for the deadly sins, and seven for the heavenly virtues that would aid in his redemption”

In this prequel novella, the foundation is set in a corrupt world where the chosen rule at the cost of the innocent. With depravity lurking at every corner, there is one who rises above the violence and vows to protect those who have been abused.

“The Fallen’s one and only protector. The one pure angel in a sea of Satan-like sinners.”

Introduced to seven characters with diverse personalities and deep needs, I remain curious about each. Gabriel seems like he is up to the task, but at a price. And, I definitely have a soft spot for Michael.

The Fallen: Genesis is a Deadly Virtues prequel offering a dark premise surrounded by shadowy and intriguing characters. I look forward to reading the books in this series.

If you haven't notice, I will faithfully read anything by Tillie Cole. She is a auto-buy author for me. When I heard she had a new series coming out, I was ecstatic. I finally made time for pick up this short novella about the seven fallen boys. Unfortunately, it wasn't exactly what I was expecting.

We follow Joseph's POV about how him and his brother, James, are in a orphanage that is ran by a bunch of priests. His brother has always been very detached and obsessed with blood. Joseph stops him from killing another boy which leads to James being put in something like solitary.

After months of not seeing his brother, Joseph is determined to find him. He starts asking questions and learns that there is something odd going on at Holy Innocents. He sacrifices himself to save his brother and ends up in alongside James - and five other boys - in a small room.

Their identities have been changed by the priests, or the Brethren, to the seven archangels as they have fallen from God's grace. Joseph is now Gabriel and James is Micheal. They now share a room with Diel, Raphael, Bara, Uriel, and Sela.

Gabriel is now surrounded by evil boys that long to kill. Unfortunately, there is a greater evil than the boys he now calls his brothers. He is determined to bring down the Brethren and save them all. And Gabriel isn't going to stop until they are free.

This book sets the stage for the upcoming series where each man finds his love. I can't wait to see how this series unfolds!

Thanks to Monique for BR this with me. Love you lots! xx

There are no rainbows, flowers or prince charming in this prequel! No! There is pain, abuse, corruption, perversion, described with an extremely raw and brutal manner.
However, beyond and above of all these there is strong bond of brotherhood which will be the foundation for the journey of the Fallen...

“Gabriel watched his brother and roved his eyes over the rest of the sleeping Fallen.
Boys who wanted to kill.
Boys who walked in the dark, not the light.
Lost boys.
Boys with no hope, and no one, left in this world.”

Nobody can write Dark like Tillie can!!
when she wants to, she can mark your soul with a Red hot poker with TC and you'll forever be her slave. I was so engrossed watching this train wreck of a book, I legit forgot to move from the couch all day. This book is a prequel..... A VERY ESSENTIAL Novella which gives you a glimpse of the horrors to come in the entire series.
Remember these names -
Bara, Uriel, Sela, Diel, Raphael, and Michael....
The Sleeping Fallen.
Boys who wanted to kill. Boys who walked in the dark, not the light. Lost boys. Boys with no hope, and no one, left in this world.

It starts off on an ominous and dreadful note and that was the softest note of all!!

description

Each step I took as I went down the story, was like taking hidden steps down the Purgatory. I was chained and locked and hurt and tortured. My eyes wide open, unable to unsee and unhear the heinous barbarity and vulgarity that destroys innocence and breeds monsters.
I'm shook so bad, not because of the pitch darkness that colors this book's pages. I'm more petrified of WHAT'S TO COME!!
The Holy Innocents Purgatory is where Devils are created, venom is distilled and Inquisition is practiced.
The end result is 7 of the purest evil beings, that they're almost fluorescent green. An army of 7 against the Mighty Brethren!!
Seven for the deadly sins, and seven for the heavenly virtues that would aid in his redemption.

description

Watch out for these 7 Angels...keep an eye out for them. Meanwhile strengthen your guts cause the ensuing books will hit you hard.
In all of this there's a very dim flickering candle of hope -Joseph Keller.
"Jesus walked with the sinners. The righteous path would be to walk alongside these boys . . . his brothers. He wouldn’t abandon them."
The end had me agog. Completely overwhelmed. I'm on tenterhooks......what am I going to do till Raphael comes along😯
Read the book...read the series and keep handy a decanter of whiskey 😳
You're gonna need it!!!

"Seven, one for each of the Fallen and the mortal sins Gabriel knew they would one day commit. Seven for the deadly sins, and seven for the heavenly virtues that would aid in his redemption."

The Fallen: Genesis is a prequel novella in The Deadly Virtues Series. What a way to start and introduce the readers to a new dark series. I am really happy Tillie Cole decided to write a prequel novella instead of adding this part in the beginning of the book or either in flashbacks. I love getting the background information from the get-go, because it really sets the mood and gets you excited to get your hands on the first book. I am absolutely intrigued and horrified with the characters in this book. They are not innocent and all have internal demons. They will become anti-heroes and I have to say that the actual bad guys (the Brethren) are actually evil. This book is dark and the things that have been done to the seven of the orphans is utterly despicable and evil. I know that they aren't normal, but that doesn't mean that they should've been treated the way they did.

I enjoyed getting to know how the brotherhood came to be. Also I look forward to getting to know each of the Fallen better in the coming book(s). I am expecting a lot of crazy and dark things to happen, and I am definitely ready for it. I think fans of (Tillie Cole's) dark romance will love this series. I really hope you at least give this novella a try, just to see if it intrigues you to continue the series. I am ready to fall in love with a new set of Tillie Cole's anti-heroes.

“They’ll die one day. They will all die for doing this to us.”

I have no idea where to start or what to say. The story is dark and disturbing in true Tillie Cole fashion. She really doesn't hold anything back in this one.

Not much exactly happened since it's a prequel novella to the series that "set a stage for the main act". We got to meet the characters and I can't quite decide if I'm intrigued by them or afraid of them. I guess, some weird combination of both.

I really don't want to spoil anything, so I'm just gonna say how sorry I feel for Gabriel. Well, for all of them but especially for him. Let's hope that his faith and sanity will hold otherwise we are all mightily screwed.

This was his destiny. This was what God wanted him to do. He felt the calling. Felt a tingling in his hands and feet. Felt God’s warmth wrap around him as he accepted this task. He was the shepherd. And no matter how big the sin, these boys were all God’s children.

BR with my fellow Tillie Cole fan Whitney.

Omg....words. I. Do. Not. Have. Words. I read dark. I love dark. This was DARK. It was hard to read at times, and yet I was captivated.

This group. Their desires. Their specific proclivities are a dichotomy of intriguing and horrific. I am interested to see how Tillie Cole is going to tell these stories, and how she is going to integrate romance it this depraved stories.

This story will be hard. There will be triggers for people, but if you love DARK, you are going to love this. I’m down for the whole epic ride.

This was dark. Very very dark. As for the story, well, the purpose is to set up the main series and it did that well. If this was instead incorporated into the main books I think it would have been tedious to keep going back and forth for background.

Shit. God. Shit. FUCK. Shit. Shit. SHIT!

I am shaking. This was riveting. Oh it was dark. I just.

Fuck.

Jaw-dropping...

Cole outdid herself. She beyond outdid herself. She fell. Fallen. Like her Fallen angels. Fucking glorious. 🖤

It’s haunting, it’s brutal, it’s sick, it’s cruel, and it is glorious.

It’s fucking glorious!!

It’s safe to say I am expecting every raw emotions when reading the coming books.

I can’t wait for her twisted stories. Because however cruel and horrible things she writes about it all comes to down one thing. Justice. Dark justice.

I am absolutely 100 % intrigued. Every last fallen brother has a story to tell and I simply can’t figure out which one I am most exited about.

The Fallen will come to us soon. And I am ready.

“Welcome to Purgatory….or, as it’s better known…Hell.”

WOW! Where does Tillie Cole go when she creates these dark and disturbing stories? We’re not sure, but we’re really glad she does because she digs deep to feed our dark little hearts with her well thought out, totally messed up and completely riveting stories, and the Deadly Virtues series already promises to be one totally f***ed up journey! This was one difficult and compelling novella!

‘They were his Fallen. His charges. This was his cross to bear.’

From sob your heart out romance to silly and fun-loving rom-coms, and everything in between, Tillie Cole is an author who excels at what she does. A chameleon who seems to come alive when she’s creating her dark romance stories, and she does them so incredibly well!

In The Fallen: Genesis, the prequel to her new Deadly Virtues series, Tillie Cole spends time world building and creating the background for her characters. It’s a bold move considering there is no romance in this novella, of which we’re glad. All too often the first book in a series spends time creating the world sometimes at the detriment of the characters the story is focused on. With The Fallen: Genesis, Tillie Cole’s decision to deliver the prequel in this manner is an absolute winner.

The characters in The Fallen shocked us, saddened us, broke us and made us so utterly desperate to hear each of their stories. This is no easy read. When Tillie Cole warned readers this series was VERY dark, she wasn’t exaggerating. There were times we had to stop and regroup before we could continue. Some aspects of this story are confronting, uncomfortable and harrowing, and will have you questioning exactly what is good and what is the evil.

‘Evil. It was evil.’

We were instantly gripped by this story. There was no easing into it as Tillie Cole immediately seized our attention from the get-go, never letting up until the shocking end! Yes, we were shocked, stunned and taken out of our comfort zone with brutality, evilness and the twists that just kept coming.

The Fallen: Genesis introduces us to Joseph whose teachings and beliefs in the Catholic Church are blown to pieces when he discovers a Brethren of cruel sadistic priests at the Holy Innocents Home and School for Children in Boston Massachusetts where he lives with his brother, James following the death of their mother years earlier. His beliefs are questioned and his protective nature is challenged as the need arises to save his brother and five other boys from torture and abuse at the hands of the priests.

‘Look after your brother. Love him, for both of us.

The seven boys are baptised by the priests with the names of the fallen angels, Gabriel, Michael, Raphael, Uriel, Selaphiel, Jegudiel, and Barachiel. This is not paranormal, this is a very dark and raw romantic series following each brother ten years in the future, with the first story being Raphael. The wait is going to be excruciating for each story as we want to know each brothers fate now! Each one left their mark on us with every twist and turn making our hearts race and our mouths gaping!

“Please, Jesus, please save him. Redeem him, forgive his sins. Forgive me mine. I just need him to be okay. He is all I have left.”

Tillie Cole has done it again! What an incredibly multilayered storyteller this lady is. Her talent never fails to astonish us. This series promises to deliver everything and more, so dust off the bookshelves because a new dark series is about to take up residence in your hearts, minds, and souls!

All of the boys with upturned crosses on their chests and darkness in their hearts. Boys with the names of angels but the thirst of demons in their blood.

Gothic dark, dark fiction at its best.

There's literature that moves you, and then there's literature that tears you open and bleeds through you. There are tears because these characters, fictional but striking a chord within you that's absurdly real, are going through horrors that no child, no human being should ever have to experience. You can't help but smile too, because you ever came across this masterpiece. You end up smiling through the tears because some of the sheer insanity of this book bled through the pages and stole a piece of your soul.

When I read this, did I fear for my sanity? Yes. Did I throw my morals to the wind and embrace this...love...I felt for these terrible, inhumane men? These twisted archangels capable of the cruelest destruction? YES.

When a book prompts such strong feelings within you that chills still arise everytime it's mentioned is when you realize you stumbled upon one that'll always hold a piece of your heart.

This book prompts the question of good and/or evil. An exploration of one's own sense of right or wrong. Reward and punishment. The so-called good people hiding the most grievous of cruelty. The evil with an even darker shade of brutality. Savagery. But sometimes with a tint of good so damn bright. Most times good and evil are a plethora of mixed colors and gray areas. But what prompts cruelty in us? Jealousy? Anger? Revenge? Can it be an inborn urge? A manifestation of circumstances?

I'd love to say more, to delve deeper into why this story is a MUST-READ but go in blind, it's absolutely and completely worth it.

The Fallen were brothers reborn. Baptized anew.

Absolutely bloody amazing!

Tillie Cole always delivers, no matter which genre of hers you’re reading 😍🖤
The story was so brutal and twisted (I even had to switch my kindle off at one point because I didn’t want to ‘see’ any more 🙈) but so excellently written and planned out. I was hooked from start to finish.

I cannot believe how much actually happened in this novella and how brilliantly Tillie has set up her new dark world.

I cannot freaking wait for book one and to see where this storyline will go. I haven’t been this excited about a series for a long time! 😍
Thank you Jen for joining me on this crazy buddy read. I think we’re going to love it 😉😂

I really liked it! It's dark and brutal. Especially so since it involves children.

I wish this had been a fully developed novel length book. It has such high potential. Because it's short, I found some of the "coincidences" that twisted and moved the plot along a little too convenient to be believable. But I can easily picture how well they would have worked given a little more background and build-up.

Mild spoiler explaining the missing star:

“Welcome to Purgatory.” His smile dropped, and Joseph suddenly saw the boy that lay underneath, unmasked, the one with death in his eyes and a wretched blackness to his soul. “Or, as it’s better known . . . Hell.”

Üstelik buraya girmeleriyle onlara seven archangels’dan isimler veriliyor.

İşte yepisyeni serimiz de burada başlıyor! Epilogda on sene sonrasına yol alıyoruz, muhtemelen ilk kitabımız da bu sıralar başlıyordur. Tamam girişiyle bile ağzıma sıçıp bırakan serinin tümü bana neler yapar az çok tahmin ediyorum ama...
O piçkurularının ölmekten beter olduğunu okumam lazım bir an önce!

Ve kitaplar hangi karakterlerle devam edecek, Michael ve Diel’in kitapları kaçıncı sırada olacak meraktan ölüyorum AYRICA AŞÜFTELERE SESLENİYORUM HİÇBİR KARAKTERE GÖZÜNÜZÜ DİKMEYİN SİKERİM SİZİ LAN HEPSİ BENİM BU SERİYİ ÜSTÜME ZİMMETLEDİM!

“You only mentioned one. How many brothers do you have?”
“Six,” Gabriel said and watched the surprise light up Miller’s face. “I have six brothers.” Gabriel exhaled, picturing Bara, Uriel, Sela, Diel, Raphael, and Michael in his head. “And we need to get them out soon. I have no time to waste in that regard.” Coldness infused his veins. “It’s the only reason I’m here. I couldn’t care less about my grandfather and his riches. But if the money helps me get my brothers out, I’ll use it.”

P.S. Joseph a.k.a Gabriel’i kendime aldım. Kalanları kapışırsınız. Erkeğime yeltenen olursa telifi basarım hdldjfşdjlf (güzel bi teklifle gelene kiralanabilir)

Gönül ferman dinlemiyor napalım 🤷🏼‍♀️ (Pederlikleri batsın The Brethren’i toprak bile kabul etmeyecek)

WTF? I thought i knew how dark Tillie Cole could get,but this....WOW!
Can somebody please turn on the light,it’s pitch black in here!
I mean,i knew religion has its ugly side, and priests aren’t always as good as they should be,but these are as bad as they can get....

Joseph and James were taken in by priests in the Holy Innocents Home for Children after their mother died. Being the eldest,Joseph took his promise to their mother to keep James safe very serious. But James was different. He had an urge for blood. And when the priests found out, they took him to Purgatory. To the Brethren,as the priests who took it upon themselves to “drive out evil”,called themselves. After finding out what that meant,Joseph took it upon himself to do everything to join his brother there. What he found there, was stuff of horrorstories. What he,James and the other 5 boys that were with them, experienced in the following years at the hands of the Brethren, scarred them all for life. Being the only one of them that was “normal”,made him feel responsible to find a way to get them out.

But the Brethren will not rest until they’re found.......

I CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS SERIES TO ARRIVE!!!

"Boys with the name of angels but the thirst of demons in their blood. He would protect them all."

Deadly Virtures 0.5 (Prequel Novella)

5/5 🤯🤯🤯 Disturbing-Gritty-Wicked-Sadistic Stars

This quote perfectly summarizes the prequel. My job here is done. Oh, you want more? Let's get some things out of the way first... Trigger warnings for EVERYTHING. This series is not for the faint of heart. I repeat. It is NOT for the faint of heart. Definitely 18+ | This tackles numerous dark and twisted themes (abuse, rape, murder, self harm)

The Fallen: Genesis is a prequel novella (#0.5) in the Deadly Virtues series, and must be read before Raphael (book one)

Gabriel and Michael found themselves at Holy Innocents, an off grid home and school for orphaned children in Boston, Massachusetts, run by priests. They were placed in this home because their mother died and they were found all alone, with no other family to take care of them. Gabriel has had two purposes in life -- serving God and taking care of his younger brother Michael.
“I can’t wait for the day when my control completely snaps and I give myself over to who I know I really am inside.”

But within the walls of Holy Innocents, things are not quite innocent and Gabriel finds his way into a group of fallen boys consisting of Raphael, Selaphiel, Barachiel, Jegudiel, Uriel and Michael (Gabriel's blood brother) The Fallen have deeply sick and twisted desires, and would act upon these given the opportunity. The Brethren (group of priests) use nefarious methods in an attempt to rid their souls of their 'demons'

Whew. Okay. Still with me?

The lines between right and wrong are extremely blurred based on inhibitions. Humans are social animals by nature -- living in pairs and groups and so Gabriel finds a way to relate to the other boys and promises to protect them. The social dynamics introduced in this prequel make for a fascinating start to the series. I cannot wait to see how the relationship between individual interactions and group level behavior unfolds. I think it will be difficult for readers to find connection with the characters however you may find yourself having empathy for Gabriel's mission.

If you're up for this dark, twisted book, I highly recommend!!
