4711 Acqua Colonia Lime & Nutmeg by 4711 is a Citrus Aromatic fragrance for women and men. 4711 Acqua Colonia Lime & Nutmeg was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Geza Schoen.

The collection of refreshing EDCs 4711 Acqua Colonia is enriched with a new edition to be available in limited number in 2015. After last year’s season editions 4711 Acqua Colonia Hazel & Tonka and 4711 Acqua Colonia Plum & Honey Maurer & Wirtz promotes citrusy-spicy ACQUA COLONIA LIME & NUTMEG to provide energizing and refreshing blend of lime and nutmeg.

The selected key notes of the edition LIME & NUTMEG were blended to highlight sweet-acidic aromas of lime which had simulative effect and provides refreshing, vibrant accords to the fragrance by contrasting to warm spicy shades of nutmeg. The fragrance is signed by perfumer Geza Schön who creates for the second time for the 4711 collection (the first one was Acqua Colonia Mandarine & Cardamom which joined the collection in 2012). The fragrance arrive sin characteristic glass flacon of the same design as previous editions of the collection, as 50 and 170 ml, in splash and spray version.

Besides the flacons with Acqua Colonia Lime & Nutmeg Eau de Cologne, the collection encompasses accompanying body care products: perfumed shower gel 200ml, perfumed body lotion 200ml and perfumed body spray 75ml.

I bought my bottle in the 4711 store in Cologne, Germany - on sale. Smells great! Very zingy and fresh! Turns into a skin scent almost immediately and doesn't project. So put on some more - it's a cologne.

debstarr

Absolutely love this one for summer. Has a really exquisite cocktail vibe to it which I love. The dry down feels almost a little creamy and decadent to me while the first spray is always a welcome refreshment to cut through the summer heat! Definitely and truly unisex.

shokravee

as a previously-certified citrus hater, this is THE citrus scent for me. it does not smell like it only has 2 notes, as a matter of fact (and hear me out even though it sounds bizzare), it kind of reminds me of molec 01 + iris. this is so amazing without trying too hard, yes the longevity is not amazing, but it's an EDC and what do u expect? also, this smells like it has hidden clary sage + fig/fig leaf notes + ambrette which i'm probably overthinking bc how can a $20 EDC be so complex but it does smell that way! it's so bright, love it. absolutely blindbuy safe.

Arguss

Smells great too bad it only last around twenty minutes. Layered it with Mancera Intense CB. Nice lime scent. 👍

Very, very pleasant surprise. I was on the fence about blind buing this but I took a risk and I don't regret it. Beautiful, juicy, fresh, sweet lime without any echoes of cleaning products. Nutmeg gives only slight spiciness to it and keeps it from being onedimensional. But what's the most important, athough it is only eau de cologne, it lasts fair amount of time.

kersti86

It is the most realistic lime scent I have smelled so far! I love-love-love lime and enjoy nutmeg. So, what's not to love. Nice spicy fresh frag - fabulous! Yes, its longevity could be better but for this price...superb!

Rich & creamy LIME & NUTMEG SOAP-BAR scent. Opens with a burst of soft lime with faint citrus nuances that deepens into a green, soft-spicy & creamy heart resting on a smoky, musky lather of soapy coniferous woods. The lime is less forward here than the notes would suggest, and is very soft, and its underpinned by soapy, musky & woody facets. Overall I get a luxury bar soap with rich, creamy, soapy, lime & soft-spicy tones. Average performance for a subtle wearing experience that's extended if layered over its matching body lotion.

Contrast to 4711 White Peach & Coriander Acqua Colonia:
These are different, but there is a very similar vibe in the drydowns. WP&C has peach instead of lime over laying the creamy, soapy & woody base. Roughly equivalent performance.

Contrast to Jannet El Firdaus Swiss Arabian:
These are different, but there are similarities with an Irish Spring soap vibe with soft spicy tones. JEF has nuclear performance in a small attar and lacks the citrus aspects, while L&C has the lime up top and leans slightly coniferous.

Contrast to White Tea Elizabeth Arden:
These are different, but there are some similarities with a sheer citrus overlaying a creamy soap-bar vibe. White Tea outperforms L&C.

Overall: Affordable and a beautiful, unique take on a lime scent, with average performance that can be extended by layering over its matching body lotion. This is the perfect scent to wear on a hike. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

This is a great blind buy and mood lifter + wearable for an extra lift in polish/readiness for the day. The lime, as someone else noted, is a different variety, not the kind you typically find in a US grocery store (maybe Persian or Kaffir?) and the nutmeg is noticeable and grounding, but not overwhelming. This was much better than I was expecting.

This one and Mandarine & Cardamom are exceptional. I got 50 mls for only $15 from a discount shop, so I immediately went back in for the 170 ml bottles ($28 USD!). The original 4711 seems to disappear almost instantly, but that is not the case with these though they are still light after-the-shower colognes, so keep appropriate expectations. I can still smell them even 6 hours later, but I am enjoying them so much I find myself top up spraying.

GracieGardener

A nice fresh cologne with an interesting nutmeg note. Would be great in summer. Not too long lasting. Would be nice to layer. I’m excited to try it with a palo santo cologne. Im happy with my first Acqua Colonia 4711. A bit mild mannered for the price, but I’ve spent more for worse.

derby2169

One of the good ones from the line, bright limey opening settling to a spicy woody skin scent, simply but complex enough to pass as a stand-alone scent. Unfortunately it is one of the worst performers of the line, I got maybe 15 mins in total.

OmarBlue

Authentic sour, zesty limes with no sweetness. It smells to me more similar to Persian limes rather than Key limes, which are more fragrant. Nutmeg is in the background and gives some depth.
I like it for the price and use it mainly at home or layer it on top of other lime fragrances (e.g., Guerlain Homme L'Eau Boisée) to extend the top note.

sitingqueen

Another refresher in this line. This has a predominant lime scent. Some citrus fragrances have a general lemony note, but this one is all lime, like a garnish for cocktails. The nutmeg is the lasting scent; spicy but not overbearing. This lasts about two hours, and then becomes a skin scent. You can increase performance by spraying your clothing. You can also reapply during the day as sillage is not significant, and the overall construct is clean and light.
Well suited for office wear and hot summers.

Skinscents4Fusspots

As much as I love the 4711 Acqua Colonia Range, the dry down on this smells almost identical to the original green Chanson D’Eau. Chanson lasts a lot longer and you can get 100ml for less than £5, so I honestly think it’s worth getting a bottle of Chanson instead!

danidgq

This becomes gorgeous as it settles on the skin when the warmth of the nutmeg comes through. However, the lime opening is a bit sharp, but that quickly goes away.

I think this is perfectly unisex, refreshing, affordable, and easy to reach for.

A.J.lamp

A watered-down version of Emporio Armani White.

katsong

This smells like ginger ale! It is not screechy at all, and it leans more masculine/unisex overall because it doesn't have that overly fruity saccharine quality to it.

It opens up with a bright juicy lime with the nutmeg adding a kick of in the background.

As it dries down the lime recedes and the nutmeg comes forward.

Then after about 2 hours you really can't smell it at all unless you stick your nose up to skin. Throughout the wearing it stays somewhat sparkly and like a zesty nutmeg the whole way through.

kiraagold

Lime and dark spice, with a frothy hit of Ivory soap, but there’s a sweet Coca-Cola vibe to it, too.
Green citrus projects a yard off the skin for five minutes, then the nutmeg slowly settles to the skin and disappears over the course of an hour.

Like all 4711 colognes, brilliant for a refreshing pick-me-up when one doesn't want a lingering scent.

cvaile

Very light and fresh, delicately spiced lime fragrance. Performance-wise (at least on me) this is delicate even by typical EDC standards, but as an affordable spritz meant just to last an hour or so it is spectacular. As long as you know this is not meant to be a day-long (or even half-day-long fragrance). This is primarily citrus, so I don't know if some of the less-citrus heavy blends in this line might last longer than this one - but I am very interested in trying the entire line now.

It actually opens quite strong and has a wide-spread, generous atomizer - so it can linger for several minutes in any room after you apply it to yourself. On me it's basically gone after 2 hours, so I prefer to use it primarily on weekends around the house or for quick trips out, or rarely if I know I want to test out a new fragrance around mid-day this is actually a great choice for the morning on my way to work as it's gone by the time I'm ready to test something else.

AnitaHendricks

This perfume would be wonderful on a warm day during the fall. It's both refreshing and warm. Very interesting!

Dawnfiller

I love this lime & nutmeg cologne! It projects strongly on me leaving a nice trail the first hour then fades to a skin scent. Lasts about 5 hours.

The nutmeg gives this fragrance a nice spicy element with a fresh lime scent that doesn’t smell like cleaner. This is a nice evening scent when heat fading (Arizona desert in March in high 70s already!)

Out of all the 4711 colognes I’ve tried this is one of my favorites! You must like spicy scents the nutmeg is very strong in this cologne or at least on my skin it is that way. On paper the lime dominated with nutmeg hardly showing up so do not rely on that testing to decide. Test on skin and expect to reapply in 4-5 hours. This is inexpensive on Amazon.com I think it was around $20. I’m glad I blind bought it!

Chrysolaga

I love this refreshing burst of lime. I have to admit it is my nighttime aromatherapy before bedtime along with the lavender one at times. I don't think it lasts long enough to be enjoyed during the workday without reapplying.

spinderella

Lovely. Very much lime with a hint of nutmeg. Could it be I smell a whisper of vanilla-like sweetness in here? I think this isn't really unisex. Its female in nature, but some men smell devine wearing womens perfume...
Longevity is not that bad, I could smell it all day on my skin (allright, I sprayed very liberally, but for that price, I guess you're supposed to bathe in it).

vinyl_junky

Another favourite from the 4711 Acqua Colonia line, and like the others this does what it says on the bottle. You get a fresh burst of lime tempered by the spicy nutmeg. This is probably the freshest lime I've ever experienced in a bottle.

Unfortunately, like the rest of the line as well, sillage and longevity leave a lot to be desired. However, at this price, one can't complain - just keep reapplying to your hearts content.

ANNAFRYS

Good price! I am not happy with gender in perfumery but aman would smell really good in it! Whole brand is interesting. This one is really fresh and lime is my fav scent in the planet.

aliks

Fresh and natural, it smells close to Carven vetiver on the dry down. Probably the nutmeg in it. I like it for warmer weather

raiza1990

This one smells like a cleaning product. It is strange sweet and it smells old. Luckly it desapears very quickly, on clothes too.
This is not a strong dislike but i don´t like it either.

A FRESH DISAPPOINTMENT FROM 4711
_______________________________________________________

Ever since 'Melissa & Verbena' I've grown to have respect for 4711. That is why I could hardly wait for Lime & Nutmeg.

I tried it today and, as expected, it's very fresh. I could literary taste the nutmeg in my mouth.

Unfortunately, like so many other scents from 4711, it doesn't last too long.

Overall:
Opinion: not bad - 5/10.
Longetivity: bad - 2/10
Sillage: poor ( ;-(( ) - 1/10

All in all: 2 out of 10 points.
