I got this as a gift in 2018. I tried it in store to see if I liked it because I had never really liked the OG Alien. I disliked it immensely, so it stayed unopened for 5 years before I caved and opened it (purely out of curiosity).

And I love it now. It’s in my top 5 of all time. I don’t know what changed, but the citrusy and solar notes mixed with the jasmine and amber work. They lift it and take away the dirtiness that OG Alien has, in my opinion. It’s smoother, softer, creamier and yet more airy than OG Alien.

Signature scent worthy.

So this is your PSA to give that fragrance that you hated years or decades ago another chance. Tastes can change over time.

jadepo21

I adore the OG Alien, but this is just not for me. There is such a strong licorice in the opening that I find wildly offensive. It's nice in the air, but when I put my nose close to it, it's actually nauseating. It does dry down to be so close to the original that I can't see the need to own this one.

AlaskanAngel

I really enjoy the sweet orange note that lingers in the drydown. That and the lack of any tea makes this scent different enough from ALIEN EAU EXTRAORDINAIRE that I would be happy owning both. But I don't need this.

Review of official carded spray sample.

assoula17

Was never into the OG Alien no matter how much I tried. The only Alien I liked and own is the Essence Absolue (apart from one which a sales lady insisted on spraying me with back in 2012 in Galleries La Fayette which being the Alien hater that I am, I didn’t pay attention and did not get the name of the flanker I was sprayed with, and after a while I was enchanted). But I just stumbled upon an Eau Sublime 1.5 sample in my sample collection, and at first I didn’t like it, but after like 20 mins it so it became more likeable, but not likeable enough to make me buy it.

nanaa_from_ghana

The OG Alien is one of my top 5 perfumes ever, mainly because I’m a jasmine fiend. It makes me feel so powerful and so sexy/alluring when I wear it.

Alien Eau Sublime is yet another flanker for the beautiful jasmine bomb that Alien is. However, AES is a summer-fied version of the OG that showcases a bright citrusness and slightly tropical vibe from the tiare flower (love me some tiare flower!!!). It’s not as sexy, dark, and mysterious as the OG, but it’s definitely still beautiful. It giving carefree summer cutie that’s super flirty, but plays hard to get and makes it clear that you can’t have her.

The performance on this is really good and sticks to clothes without you having to douse yourself in it. You may want to go easy on the trigger even though this is a much lighter version of Alien.

I say if you couldn’t get down with the OG cause it was too much, try this one. It was a safe blind buy for me only cause I love the OG. I’m happy to have her.

Edit: I sold my bottle :)

autumngold

I am not a fan of the original Alien, and I found this scent to be very similar, just less ‘dark’. My palate is for fresh, clean, inoffensive scents, so this was my not my cup of tea.

If you like the original, this is a safe blind buy, but if not I would caution against going all in.

To me personally, it smells like an old perfume which was way too mature and grand-mother-ish, even despite the different top notes.

I really wanted to love it, but I’m not going to join the mugler cult because of this scent.

takema

If I could only choose one favourite fragrance it would probably be the original Alien EDP. As much as I love it, it's not a fragrance I can wear in all situations. I love many of the flankers as much (a couple, even more) as the original. In the heat Alien EDP just too much. Eau Sublime is one of the flankers that works nicely in warmer weather. It carries a strong thread of the Alien DNA, so you do have to like the Alien jasmine to appreciate Eau Sublime. Of the summer leaning flankers Eau Sublime is the closest to the original with the strongest performance. It differs from the original in the strong citrus opening and I find the citrus stays present throughout the wear keeping this lighter and fresher than the original. I don't smell the other florals in the mid, but I do get a powderiness, probably from the heliotrope, that I don't get in Alien EDP. There is also a creamy sweetness that never feels gourmand, but feels like it is coming from the florals. I think therest of the florals also help to tame the jasmine, since it's not a powerful as it is in the EDP. Eau Sublime has a softer and lighter woodiness than the original and I only notice it once it has dried down.

The performance of Alien Eau Sublime is excellent. It lasts all day on my skin, 8-10 hours. It projects beyond arms length for at least half that time and even after that it still has a moderate projection. Not the eternal, room filling performance of the original, but that may make Eau Sublime a better choice for some people. Eau Sublime is strong enough to work all year and may make an excellent alternative for people looking for the Alien DNA with an easier to manage performance. I really enjoy Eau Sublime for a summer night. It has the jasmine that makes it sensual and beautiful for a night out and the citrus keeps it light enough for a bit of heat. It is strong enough that it will still be too strong for some people in the summer, especially very hot and or humid days. Eau Extrordinaire is the flanker I reach for when the temperature is soaring and the humidity is suffocating.

The bottle is recognizeably Alien in shape and the colour makes me think summer. The white bottom fading into clear at the top looks gold because of the golden coloured juice. This is a fragrance that's getting harder to find now that it is discontinued. It's worth picking up for any Alien lover if it pops up for a reasonable price.

wondervalley666

Well, I just snagged a bottle secondhand since it's discontinued. This is my 5th Alien flanker and it's the best one out of the bunch. It's a much better quality blend than Goddess or Extraordinaire, though in a more similar family to those flankers than fusion or mirage. I love those flankers, but compared to this, Goddess seems flat, cheap smelling and synthetic, and Extraordinaire is watered down with a citrus overload. Can't believe they'd discontinue this one... truly mind boggling. I'll be saving my $$ to buy backups of this gem.

Fuegogo

An uplifting, sophisticated summery ☀️ edition of Alien. Lots of Jasmine but still a lighter summer vibe. Similar to eau extraordinaire but less citrus than that. This one is creamy. I prefer eau sublime. As always with the good ones, shame it was discontinued.

Mary.am1

I never tried any perfume that smells like this one
It’s very unique .
For some reason when I first spray it I can instantly smell a minty- tooth paste note that tikles my nostrils 😂 It’s not mentioned anywhere on the perfume pyramid.
Once it dries down the base notes are mixture of
jasmine, light amber, bright citrus notes.

I like it but it’s not sexy and not overpowering.
You require certain taste in perfumes to like this one.
Not safe for a blind buy get yourself a sample first .
*Longevity (5-6) hours , sillage not so great it’s not gonna be a head-turner .

Fefe19

Alien on a tropical island. Lots of citrus, tropical creamy flowers transport you to a sunny exotic place. It’s also refreshing and is ideal for hotter weather.
It’s very feminine and sexy, could be worn day or night like for a date night or party outdoors. It is similar to Eau Extraordinaire which I find on the other hand to be more citrusy and more of a refreshing casual daytime scent.

A Little Perfume

This perfume smells like pure sunshine.

As soon as I spray this, I feel happy and ready to face the day. Can a perfume smell optimistic? Because that's how this one smells to me. There's a warmth to this scent, which mixes beautifully with the citrus and jasmine. It's still very jasmine-forward, in my opinion, but still has a casual, clean and easy-going vibe. Kind of similar to Alien EDT, but with a warmer, more golden feel to it (probably from the solar notes and tiare flower). Whereas Alien EDT feels a bit more all-weather, Eau Sublime reads very specifically spring/summer.

Last power is good, like most Muglers, and it comes in a stunning bottle. Of the flankers I find Eau Sublime to feel like a bit of a mix between the EDT and Eau Extraordinaire, but different enough (IMHO) to warrant owning all three. They each give me a different enough vibe that I reach for them on different occasions.

violet violin

Found this for a great price and snatched it up as it’s been discontinued. It was a blind buy however.
I love Alien and was hoping for a bit of a lighter, fresher take on it for the warmer months.
Sadly (or not, depends how you want to look at it) It is nearly identical to original Alien. I do detect a slight citrus in this that Alien definitely doesn’t have, but the citrus fades and I’m just getting original Alien on the dry down. Sillage and longevity is not the same on this, original Alien is a beast on both.
I have only worn this in cool weather so far, it totally works as it’s so similar to Alien, but I’m hoping maybe the warmer months will bring out the citrus more and it will be wearable then. I can’t really wear my beloved Alien in summer as it’s too heavy, but I miss it! So fingers crossed I can pull this off instead and get my Alien fill in the warm weather.

Beware jasmine haters, this is still a jasmine bomb just like the original, so stay away if you dislike it.
I personally love Jasmine, especially for evening. I hope that this can translate to warm summer days.

tanss

This fragrance is so intriguing to me. It has a freshness to it but it also has vanilla and on the dry-down, you definitely get some of the alien DNA, more than say, in the Alien Eau Extraordinaire. I do prefer Eau Extraordinaire, because it seems fresher to me and to my nose, I get less of the alien DNA. But this one is very interesting and intriguing. Don't know if I would say it's full bottle worthy just yet, but definitely worth trying.

lillybethholmes

I think I need to give up on Alien. It's just not my jam. I thought having read lots of reviews about it being lighter, friendlier, easier to wear, summery, etc that it would be uplifting citrus with Alien DNA, amd would be my *in* with the family, but it's just as cloying and nauseating and sledgehammer-to-the-temples as the OG. Just no. NO.

ali.farzam

Who decided to discontinue the best perfume of Alien line?
This is the exactly the best Alien that ever made.

Chellywellie

To me, this is a lemon curd & black pepper version of Alien.
The opening is creamy citrus - think lemon curd, or any creamy lemon dessert for that matter. The opening is much stronger than the dry down and in theory it should be easy to wear, but I do pick up some sort of spice / pepper in the dry down. For this reason, I think it could be unisex, which doesn’t endear me to it. The longer it’s on my skin, the more recognisable it is of the Alien line - but for me it’s just ok.

SanjuktaB

This is perfect for summer and works well even on humid days (think Indian summer). Its like Alien with a lemon souffle topping but no heavy amber at the base and it surprisingly works beautifully in the heat .My only complaint is that its hard to find .

Scentedalterego

The OG (original formula) is a bit difficult to wear for me, it is so strong that I can only do half a spray. This sunny version with a citrus opening is absolutely gorgeous. A wearable Alien, retaining the Alien DNA better than other summer flankers.

It's more elegant, the minty /camporic aspect that the jasmine in the OG has, isn't present here. The florals are smoother, more harmonious. It's long lasting, and a compliment magnet. Clean but definitely sexy. Lasts very well on me, better than any of the other summer flankers. Suitable for any season.

Highly recommended! Probably blind buy safe if you like the original Alien, but find it difficult to wear.

tashia.jones

If you listen to the song by sabrina claudio unravel me....this is basically how i would describe this fragrance...just when you thought you have her figured out...she goes and does something that catches you off guard....you will never know everything about her..

loliirain

This was a really pleasant surprise. It’s a much softer, more wearable alien for the summertime. It sits close to the skin, and has a lovely citrus note that gives it a more fresh and airy quality. The jasmine in this one is toned down and doesn’t have that syrupy feel that the original does. Its the perfect scent to wear on a summer night after spending a day at the beach. Sexy, warm, a little creamy, and velvety, but never cloying or loud.

LizaJane

I received this in a perfume subscription box, and I am pleasantly surprised by this! I'm a huge fan of the original Alien but it's a bit too heavy for the spring/summer months. Sublime is perfect filler during the warmer months. It still has the same Alien DNA, but with an added freshness to it from the citrus and solar notes. The original Alien seems to be either a "love it" or "hate it" type of scent. I think Sublime might appeal to a larger audience, it's overall just a lighter, fresher, more wearable version of Alien.

I don't like to wear Alien to the office because I feel it might be too much for some people, but I think you could easily get away with wearing Sublime into the office as long as you're not over spraying. It still creates a nice scent bubble around you, but it's more gentle in projection than the OG Alien.

I think this fragrance is quite lovely, I think I'll be adding a full size bottle to my collection (If I can get my hands on one).

DaniBear1121

This is a "prettier" version of Alien. Jasmine is still the most prominent note here, but it's supported by citrus, the solar notes that smell a bit like sunscreen in the opening, the powdery cherry blossom. This is a very Spring and Summer version that I could see appealing to a broader range of people than the original Alien.

I like this, but I love and prefer the original. I'll explain why in case that's helpful. Alien is straightforward, unapologetic in its simple chord of notes. Sublime has a bit too much going on for me and it replaces the slightly dirty sexiness of the original with light powdery frills. Different moods, different personalities. It's worth it to own both, but for me the original feels better on me.

This is my first ever Mugler purchase. I actually quite like the original Alien as well, but for whatever reason haven't added it to my collection yet... I think I've been a bit intimidated by the absurd number of flankers and wanted to try a few more of them before committing to a full bottle of the pillar. Anyway, after seeing a few well written takes on this one (thanks, past reviewers!), I was curious enough to buy it blind.

To my surprise, I actually enjoy the Eau Sublime more than the original, and as others have said, find it to be a lovely warm-weather fragrance. The jasmine is still the star, not unlike Alien OG, but the treatment here is quite different. The floral touches are light enough to leave the jasmine intact, yet also elevate it. The tiniest bit of tiare and cherry blossom add creaminess and tang respectively, and the orange blossom brings a fair bit of sweetness. To me, it's the citruses and solar notes that steal the show, contributing a zesty-juicy radiance that pairs perfectly with the cheery bouquet of the heart. All of this is poised, carefully and daintily, on a cushion of warm-fuzzy cashmeran and smooth vanilla.

Alien Eau Sublime really is the perfect fragrance for anybody in search of a summer perfume that isn't totally tiare- and coconut-centric. It combines floral, sweet, citric, musky, and creamy accords seamlessly and to great effect; it's a totally uplifting, highly versatile scent. I myself will be wearing this in the mornings and afternoons with shorts and t-shirt before switching to something a bit sultrier and more grounded in the evenings.

The performance is above-average, and though this might lean feminine, I think it's classy and pleasant enough to be worn by anybody. As for the bottle, I honestly can't decide if it's tacky or cool. Maybe both? The sprayer is well integrated and works well, which is the essential. All in all, a very rewarding investment!

InfiniteStarla

The first time I smelled Alien EDP a few years ago, I recoiled in horror and said to myself "NEVER". Now, getting a lot more into fragrances and being really into most other Mugler scents, I find myself able to appreciate Alien but am not quite at the point where I'd wear the EDP out as it still just doesn't feel fully "me". Sublime however, is a great compromise between a bright, zingy citrus for the first hour, and then we're straight into the original Alien jasmine. Although it's still the most prominent note overall (so if you don't actually like that, this still isn't for you), this serves as a great halfway house between the original, and something that's just a little more summery and a little more compromising :-).

Rebekah320

I was knocked away by this one. I love alien, but with the added summer solar notes it is amazing! I blind bought this because I already owned alien for cold months and dose into the summer version. I am extremely happy with how unique this is. So many people love this perfume on me but get confused and can’t pin point what it is. LOL…. A jasmine sunshine bomb! It works perfect in the heat for me, just don’t over spray.

grandeur

Lemon throat lozenges. Not my cup of tea. I’ll pass.

Vesi_

When it develops - oh, it is sublime!

StinkyTinky

Oooooooooooo
Okay. So not a brain bender but definitely my fav or the 3 I’ve tried. I have the original alien, eau extraordinaire, and now this. Fushion is next on my list.
The longer this sits on your skin the more individual it becomes. Definitely the creamiest of the bunch. Alluring. Clean. At first spray, you’ll most likely think it’s redundant, but let it melt into your skin.
Longevity pales in comparison to the OG, but 90% of your fragrance collection will.
Gorgeous summer alien. I actually appreciate the lightness. You can reapply freely.

Thoriq Dorz

Basically a lighter version of Alien with citrusy notes, I honestly prefer the edp one. However, I still love this one though, especially when I am at home so I do not worry to offend anyone. Yes, it is a bit potent and lasts longer on clothes, unlike the original one which lasts forever.

Dissolved_Mind

Sublime has a strong Alien DNA with herbal note, and what I mean by that is that it smells pretty much exactly like original Alien, but lighter and with a soapy green vibe (like actual bubbly soap, not a smell of soap). I detect just a little bit of citrus. I enjoy it, as I love the original Alien, Sublime smells cleaner and more suitable for daytime wear. Still strong and powerful though!

Aikipy

I just received an email from L’Oreal for an inquiry I made a couple of weeks ago. They confirmed that the following are discontinued:

Alien Eau Extraordinaire
Alien Eau Sublime
Alien Flora Futura

The following are still in their portfolio:

Aura EDP
Aura EDT
Aura Sensuelle
Alien EDP
Alien Fusion.

Hope this helps! It’s a real shame that they discontinued those 3, I really enjoyed them, but at least the rest are safe for now.

katheryne_art

I don't like any Aliens, but this is one I could wear if I got it as a gift, but I will never buy it. It's definitely not a love for me, but it's pretty good for summer...

Aikipy

Love this Alien flanker, very light, airy, citrusy. Perfect for summer days or evenings! Another masterpiece!

marco_m

It’s like fine, I guess... It takes all the BITE out of Alien, which imo is like the one thing that still distinguishes Alien from the rest of the pack today. Eau Sublime is Alien after getting neutered. Pleasant, don’t get me wrong, but no fun!

ingeneuxo

-Milder than Alien EDP.
-This is a more wearable flanker for sure.
-This is a discontinued fragrance. If you love it, stock up while you can.
-Headache inducing to me.
-Not fbw.(-)

aulialovegreen

I do not like Alien, it's too strong and somewhat obnoxious, like a bitchy sister to the diva angel, but Eau Sublime makes Alien wearable for me. It's still noticeable, not light or airy perse, but definitely a lighter version of Alien EDP because the added citrus and several other tropical white flower; i smell tiare and gardenia in it. It feels more rounded, creamier, and friendly to even my husband who's not a fan of Mugler's interpretation of jasmine. Feels sad when i hear they decided to discontinue this Alien from the sun.

Ali_hoochthepooch

I blind bought this fragrance a few months ago. I randomly came across it in a local store at an amazing price so had to get it! I have original Alien and love that so was excited to try my first flanker of it. Instantly fell in love! The opening lemon note is perfect for me. It's a fruity juicy lemon scent that seems to blend perfectly with the original Alien DNA. A really beautiful summer scent. It's not as long lasting as Alien though. However I will definitely be buying another bottle when I finish this one.

arapp95

If this gives you any idea how much I love this fragrance, I have two backup bottles hiding in my closet since I found out this is discontinued. I find the original alien to be marvelous but a little sharp on me. This version is creamier and more solar. It is a stunning day or night time perfume especially for the summer time. It does beautiful things in the heat. Compared to Alien Eau Extraordinaire, Sublime holds more true to the original Alien DNA but is slightly more mellow and the citrus on the opening is bright and gorgeous. Eau Extraordinaire is much heavier on the citrus and the Alien DNA is present, but gently so and only in the dry down. Sublime is a fabulous daytime summery version of Alien. Get it while you can!

Frag_Freshie

Smells like a mixture of alien EDP and Tommy girl. The citrus notes are just like the notes in Tommy girl, then dries down to an Alien EDP. To me, the opening smells a bit plasticky, but that is not a bad thing.

Maybe the plastic smell is supposed to be the solar notes because it smells like a plastic container that sat in the sun for too long. I just have to wait for the dry down but by that time it smells like a watered-down Alien EDP. Is it worth having both?Ad say if you can comfortably wear Alien EDP in the summer then you don't need this.

—}—@ darlingbud

Eau Sublime and Eau Extraordinaire make Alien wearable for me. Love the citrus, grape juice, jasmine and musk. Always comforts like honeysuckle vine. And that velvet couch in a strip club ambience described below — I wouldn’t know.

ma2780

I think it's safe to call this a light version of Alien with amped-up citrus. If you don't like the original Alien, I think you'll have trouble with this one. I am not a huge Alien fanatic, but I do like it, and I find this one essential during hot weather.

Unlike alien, I have a hard time seeing this one becoming too much for the heat. You can't really overspray. She's such an easy reach for this 90+ degree Tennessee summer and has saved me a lot of time and thought lol. A little sunscreen-y, bright, citrusy, tart, and casual, verrrry similar to the discontinued sunessence if you've ever tried that one. I would also venture to say she is comfortably unisex and very versatile. I'd wear her with jean shorts and a graphic t as much as I would a white off-the-shoulder top and a tan. Also, the bottle is gorgeous :)

On me, longevity is 3-4 hours and projection is light.

Still a fairly new purchase, it's not a 100% love (for now) but definitely a staple in my collection!

hfigures

I love the citrus burst, but it doesn't last long. Once the dry down happens this is Alien Extra Light. It takes 8-10 sprays to the skin and a misting of my clothes for soft to moderate sillage. Sits close to the skin at six hours.

churinl

I blind bought this based upon my love for the original and the Essence Absolu flanker. Trying it for the first time today, my immediate impression was that it is almost identical to the original, only lighter. I'm really not picking up on many differences.

I want to try it on one wrist with Alien on the other because I think that the contrast will help me smell the difference between the two. However, due to the pandemic, my bottle is in a place where I am not. In the meantime, I will happily wear this, because even though I am having trouble analyzing it, it still smells wonderful and I love it!

agj

Finally managed to track a partial bottle of this on ebay to add to my extensive mugler collection. Really enjoy this alien flanker, reminds me a lot of extraordinaire as they both have the original alien dna with added citrus and freshness, in the opening this is very crisp clean citrus and as it starts to dry down it pulls very white floral on me. A lovely, light spring fragrance that I am so happy to add to my mugler collection

RachelSeun

Alien Eau Sublime sits so strangely yet at the same time transforms so beautifully on my skin. The opening is quite sharp with the zesty burst of citrus but only for a short while, transforming to a more creamy and brighter flanker to the powerhouse original Alien. Beautiful for the spring and summer seasons as it doesn’t last as long as the original but you can always top up throughout the day if you don’t mind that. Definitely a stand out fragrance in comparison to other fragrances geared towards the spring/summer months. Plus the bottle is one of a kind, absolutely gorgeous.

Aoede67

Having never been a Mugler fan, I blind bought this based on vlogger reviews for fragrances for summer. I pick up a strong lemon note. The combination of flowers creates a “solar flower” fragrance but what does that mean? To me, it smells of citrus and sunflowers. Suitable for summer daytime office wear.

Anamandy

Mmmm...Yum, yum. Wearing this all day and loving it. Perfect weather for it too. It's light, but has the Alien Jasmine with a creamy, citrusy component. I'm also getting a little bit of spice, and I'm not sure if it's pepper or not, but whatever it is adds a little pep and keeps the composition fresh. Amber isn't heavy in this. It is there, just lightly done and perfect for warmer weather. I think it's what adds the creaminess to this scent. Pretty good silage and longevity too. I really need a few more wears to fully dissect it, but right now I'm enjoying this a lot. I'm so happy this turned out to be a great blind buy. I know it is going to get a lot of use this spring and summer.

6/4/21 - I now have Extraordinaire too and between this one and that, Sublime is more like the child of Alien than Extraordinaire. Though they both share a lot of the same notes, this has the Alien Jasmine and that doesn't. You can tell this is an Alien Flanker whereas the same cannot be said about Extraordinaire. That is so different it could be a fragrance unto itself instead of a flanker. So, for me they are so different it is worth having both. And I love them both too as they are great fragrances for the summer. You are sure to stand out wearing either one.

cherelune

A beautiful summer Alien! Eau Sublime opens pretty bright with citrus notes, yet with the unmistakable Alien DNA lurking beneath. The brightness subsides slightly, revealing a sun-kissed warmth rich with tiare and orange blossom. It finally settles into a quiet yet sensual base of musky amber. The signature jasmine is evident all throughout, but this Alien is warm and alluring, unlike the original which I find cool and aloof.

I have been a huge fan of Alien since I first had the pleasure of sampling it many years ago. Eau Sublime, to me, is a worthy flanker. It is definitely from the same family, but with a different character. Though generally versatile, I prefer the original Alien EDP for cooler, or at least less muggy weather. But Eau Sublime would work all-year round in my country's tropical climate, even in the hottest summer. While it is lighter and brighter than the original, it still retains a satisfying fullness. Eau so sublime!

Adge80

On me, the summery notes are combined with original Alien notes at about a 50/50 level for maybe 30 minutes and then this settles down to be original Alien. I blind bought this expecting more uniqueness from the original, but that's not what I got outside of the opening.

I am a lover of Mugler fragrances. I wasn't always in the 90's I hated Alien for several reasons. I guess one could say I was not mature enough for these perfumes. After purchasing seven Mugler perfumes, I just had to have this one. It will be part of my summer collection. I always wondered if he would make a summer scent, I guess this is as close to summer as we will get from this house. It is an awesome fragrance or its price. I will enjoy wearing it in the warmer months. One of my favorite lines - "This is how beautiful people suppose to smell"

Edit: I wore this fragrance on at 8:30 AM, after 9:00 PM I was able to smell it on my arms just as if it was just applied. I cannot wait to enjoy this in the summer.

Just got this in the mail because I'm stocking up on MUGLER back stock BEFORE the wicked and evil L'Oreal take-over. (I have a nice little collection of various "vintage" bottles now!)
THIS is fantastic! It's a lot like the original Alien with some more "brightness" via the citrus(I guess?). Most importantly is that THIS IS STRONG stuff! Stronger than my vintage bottle of the original Alien that I purchased last month. How did that happen? VERY happy and I got a used - nearly full- bottle for $40.00 Invest in this one before it climbs too high for your budget. EDIT: I see many bottles for sale on eBay in the $40.00 to $50.00 range. If you're an Alien fan- BUY IT NOW and stash it away as a "back up".

This is amazing! The classic Alien is my number 1 fragrance since it's really unique. You definitely know when someone is wearing Alien. This version of Alien has that same effect. It is like the summery version of Alien. I adore this to bits.

raiza1990

When i first tested it, i did not liked it. i thought it smelled old and stinky, i don’t know why. Maybe i just smelled it on the bottle, not on skin? I can not remember. Some months ago i got a bottle and let it sit forgotten in a corner. Today i decided to test it again. Now i must say, i like it. It smells almost exactly like the original Alien, just softer and citrusy. In my opinion, it is more wearable than the original Alien. Unfortunately, projects and lasts less. It is a very pleasant fragrance for cold spring days. If you like the original Alien, you will surely like Eau Sublime. My husband is already a fan.
Final note: 7/10

This is currently my favorite alien. I took this with me on vacation to Maui to wear in the evening. Begins with a fluffy citrus opening that turns into a lighter version of the classic alien jasmine. This was beautiful, comforting, and sexy to wear on warm nights and I can definitely see myself getting a lot of use for this in the spring and summer.

ApathyAngel

I think the warmth and solar feeling really comes through in this. It's a perfect fresh, summery fragrance.

I have Alien Eau Extraordinaire, too, and they're very similar. Extraordinaire is lighter and sweeter, but this seems fresher, and deeper. More complex, maybe.

It seems like it's more similar to the original than Extraordinaire, but still great in warm weather and much easier to wear.

I love Extraordinaire, and I like Extraordinaire more than this one, but I'm picky with sweet scents. Sometimes I'm just not in the mood for anything sweet. So for me, this is definitely full-bottle-worthy for when I find Extraordinaire just too sweet.

CosmicSupernova

It retains the original Alien DNA, which is to say jasmine jasmine jasmine...but with a tart lemon twist. Like Alien and a lemon meringue pie had a baby. It's a like from me. I can't wait to compare it to sunessense when I grab a sample.

This is the latest addition to my small Alien family and I’m very happy with my acquisition. I also have the Extraordinaire and the Luminescente. They all have the Alien DNA, but this one is, in my opinion, most similar to the original. I only have a decant of the original Alien because it’s too strong for me. The Extraordinaire is a more citrusy floral with a hint of green. I also get a beautiful soft (but very brief) pepper note. The Luminescente is warmer and dryer with a lot of orange. The Sublime is beautiful, it’s a lot like the original Alien, but lighter and creamier. I guess the creaminess comes from the cashmeran and the vanilla, I got vanilla from the moment I sprayed it. It stays pretty linear and the sillage and the longevity are both excellent, I could still smell it after 8 hours.

Peenyash

I got this perfume for a bargain and I'm here reading about it for the first time. I'm hoping to love it. I have Alience Essence Absolue which I adore to bits...so much I can't even wear it... Am hoping I won't be disappointed. Will update later

rola.asad

I have experienced so many citrusy fragrances, but here 90% of the fragrance lemon, and the rest they kept it for some jasmine, it is definitely lighter than the original alien, great for summer!

njmkw

I adored this on the tester strip at the store, but on me it’s much more citrus and something almost astringent and much less of the jasmine I love in the original Alien. Light and “summery” but not my jam at all. Oh well! This is why we test.

locksandpolish

Smells very similar to Alien sunessence which I absolutely love! Softy and dreamy.

Stella Bu

I´m perfectly surprised that this scent doesn´t change on me the whole time it lasts! It´s incredible, I think I never experienced it with any other fragrance :))
It´s starts like milky citrussy woody and a bit white floral scent and it ends like that....it is very interesting...not generic at all.
I love it, I had even compliments...but somehow I feel weird with it, cause I cannot smell myself behind it...I just feel the fragrance...for people who hate how the fragrances use to change on them, this is a save choice, cause if you like it at the begining, you will like it the whole time...but I wish I could feel a bit of my own smell and my chemistry mixed with this ...cause that´s what in reality makes your smell unique and attractive :)

greydove

There's something bitter in this that reminds me of something burning almost. I think its the galbanum. I love that bitter edge. I only catch it when its far from my nose. Up close it smells like the original to me..

j'adoremissdior

I have always appreciated the bombshell that is Alien. It's a decadent floral that lingers and encapsulates your surroundings. But I have never been able to wear it...its just too strong.
In comes Eau Sublime.
I was timid going in - afraid it would be another sillage explosion like the original. But after sniffing the sample tube and getting that delicious jasmine...I couldn't resist. I sampled it on my skin and fell in LOVE.
This is a more wearable Alien, that's for sure. But she has her own way about her. She's warm and sparkly. Enveloping, but close to home. She feels like sunshine on a breezy, warm spring day.
Jasmine is still the star here, but she's natural, slightly sweet and lingering. The tiare flower adds a warm, (almost!) beachy vibe, very carefree, but not careless. Eau Sublime is well blended and still holds an aura of sophistication. The cashmere is the perfect snuggly base. This is the perfume equivalent of being on a balcony overlooking a lush valley with sunshine on your skin.
I can't wait to get my hands on a full bottle! It is just as gorgeous as the juice inside!

mrsg34

This is a much more wearable Alien for me, the extraordinaire version lacks the alien dna on dry down for me and the original I find just too much. This however is Alien’s tamed little sister and I’m loving it.

Edemay

Alien was a signature of mine a few years ago, I even wore it through summer.
But my nose changed and it sometimes bothered me with its rich grapiness.
So I tried sublime and was very pleased as it is lighter and citrusy(I love citrus!)
It took all the elements I love in alien and put them together.
I smell mostly an array of citrus and jasmine.
I don't smell any tiare thankfully and I don't think this smells like extraordinaire, as when extraordinaire settles it smells light and powdery and lacking the alien dna.
Something I love about this is that it doesn't change on my skin.
The citrus doesn't disappear and it stays fresh and strong for hours.

ScarlettX

I like it quite well. It's fresh, a bit sweet and sunny at the same time. It's an optimistic fragrance, smells uplifting and clean to me. Not necessarily a spring fragrance, but definitely something to wear at the beginning of the new year.
I sense jasmine and orange flower in it, and some tiare flower is also adding sweetness. Even sunny notes are present. A little bit of everything.
Smells so nice on paper, but needs further testing, because Alien fragrances can smell odd when I actually wear them.

missk

The Alien flankers are admittedly becoming a little too predictable. I mean how many times can you twist the jasmine note from the original Alien?

Although some Alien flankers are quite watered down, I like Alien Eau Sublime for its stronger throw. This flanker is a lemony-jasmine version of the original with a touch more vanillic sweetness in the base.

The original Alien is a handful, and just like Angel, it's a hard fragrance to wear. Alien Eau Sublime is a crowd-pleaser for the most part, toning down the aspects of Alien that were difficult, tuning into the sweeter, vanillary notes that tend to appeal more readily to the masses.

Alien Eau Sublime is marketed mostly as a warm weather alternative, however you could wear this all year round. I find this flanker similar to Alien Sunessence released in 2009. Both scents are summery, citrusy and sweet on the skin.

Whilst I do like Alien Eau Sublime, if given the opportunity to choose my favourite Alien flanker, I still prefer The Taste of Fragrance Alien for its sumptuous caramel accord.

Arlene-Beatrix

Top notes smell like a lemon pie. Soft and delicious. Later there is more jasmine, tiare and vetiver so it feels like other Aliens, but refreshing citrus note makes all the difference, making this scent light and truly sublime. It's the best Alien edition so far.

Update: Drydown is too woody for me though.

pinkalpaca

I was really excited for this fragrance, but upon smelling it i was disappointed. It has a very strong, suffocating, sharp/bitter smell. It almost made me choke. I was expecting a light, elegant fragrance such as alien eau extraordinaire as they both have similar notes. But to me, honestly, it just stinks. I think this is what the original alien would smell like after expiring...

SuzanneS

This went horribly synthetic on my skin. I generally get along well with mugler...but not this time. The synthetic galbanum opens abrasive followed by a masculine vetiver component with minimal florals. It dries down with a vanilla cashmeran note. A man can easily pull this off. Felt very masculine on me.

tahia_loky

Huele exactamente igual a olympea de paco rabanne !! Igualito rico elegante floral dulce.

LittleParfumista

Alien Eau Sublime is definitely the younger, prettier and less offensive sister to EDT. It is a lot lighter, fresher and more summery. It is perfect for hot summer days when you still want to wear alien without choking anybody, perfect for the office. Having said that, its silage and longevity are no where near to EDT.
I like the scent and the beautiful bottle, as the EDT gives me a headache. If you are not keen on Alien EDP or EDT and find it too intense - this is your chance to get to know and love the Alien.
However, if you own and/or are a fan of EDT, this is not worth adding to your collection.

Mohd93

I tested this on my skin so I thought I should review it since there aren't many reviews so far :)

Alien is my signature, so I recognize the smell very clearly, and Alien Eau Sublime is very similar to Alien EDP but it's much more citrusy, a bit lighter but not as light as Eau Extraordinaire. I also didn't find Eau Extraordinaire similar to the original so if you want a brighter more citrusy ALIEN this is it!

It's felt quite powerful for a fresh scent, not at all a skin scent for sure, and I imagine it would last quite a bit.

Overall, it's Alien but with citruses and fresh notes, opens pretty sharp but softens with time, same as Alien does. I'm actually buying one for myself soon, even though I enjoy the original in any weather, this one can't be missed!

allie kat

This is my 4th version of Alien, the EDP, Absolue and Oud Majestic. I also have Eau Extraordinaire which I only got yesterday so cannot compare it to Eau Sublime just yet.
I find it to be a brighter, fresher and tangy version of the edp. It's perfect for daytime as longevity and sillage are nowhere near the original but it is almost half the price so it won't break the bank.
As Genny17 mentioned it drys down to Absolue, for me I noticed it after about 3 hours and I still get whiffs of it now, 5 hours after first spraying. I just wish the top /middle notes lasted longer as they are new to me and I like them. Ah well, time to respray.
Overall, it's a like and I'm already considering a backup bottle!

Antares811

Alien Eau Sublime is gorgeous, very similar to the EDP, it's fresher and lighter.
Amazing jasmine, beautiful floral notes, same spicy-woody basenotes.
Perfect for warmer months, feminine, sexy and classy.
More wearable than the EDP (no strong opening notes).
Mr Ropion is one of my favorite noses. Another great job.
Lovely.

arwa hussein

Alien Eau Sublime Mugler same like Alien strong ,sexy , mysterious ,pretty and more fresh , for whom doesn't have Alien i guess this one is a must have, luxurious <3

PerfumeKing14

it's been done by mugler before, this is nothing new. it really (to me) smells of an alien aqua chic. it's pleasant but i won't buy it because its no different to another version I've had twice before. disappointed but what can you do.
if you're new to the mugler line you'll probably like it because it is a nice scent.

genny17

I tried it this morning and I am kind of puzzled Mugler came up with a flanker so similar to EDP with a bit of Essence absolue and Extraordinaire
It smells real nice and it has that bright summery vibe but for me who owns EFP and EDT plus Taste of fragrance I don't feel this is different enough to purchase it
It is more a medley of the aliens, and solar notes are bright and luminous like tiare neroli , giving it a softness and airyness that maybe the edp doesn't have.
Lovely , if you don't own any Alien this is worth considering
For me , wouldn't make sense.

victoriasecret0303

Wow! What a gem!
It doesn't particularly smell sunny to me but it is very summery which I guess mugler was getting at. It has the alien DNA but also has a beautiful mandarin orange smell added to it. It's not heavy but it does project very well. It lasted on my skin 12 hours which is AMAZING for an EDT. I feel it does smell very similar to eau extraordinaire however this feels more refined.

TinaBatCat

Sorry to say it yet again, but I can't help myself. There's nothing absurd about the idea of the sun's warmth changing the way things smell. Does anyone really expect a "sun fragrance note? Long before this effect was given a name, I thought certain perfumes smelled "sunny".

I'm happy about this new edition. It seems to pick up where the "Sun Essences" of past years left of - a lighter Alien with loads of citrus. Maybe not ground-breaking but certainly lovely.

Kione

I feel like this is is a child-friendly Alien. The original and flankers I got are too heavy and sexy to be around kids in my opinion; and this is just perfect. It has the Alien DNA but much softer and the citrus reminds me of baby cologne. I only apply a couple if sprays on my hair as I don't like smelling strong around my baby, and it just works.

OlfactoryLover

It opens with Alien EDP mixed with a lime smelling citrus but quickly settles down. The jasmine stands out the most in my opinion. Pretty :)

beavisbonce

It's in house of Fraser right now 15 Feb

pinkalpaca

It will be launched officially on february 24! can't wait.

Papavero0

And now we reached sheer madness having introduced solar notes for a perfume :) I do have an idea of what a 'solar' quality, not note, would mean in a scent, but, dear God, actually introducing it as a note...hm... Let's stay sane. You have to have a good sense of humor to appreciate this novelty :)

pinkalpaca

I am so excited for this fragrance. The notes are similar to those of Alien Eau Extraordinaire (my favourite thanks to its optimistic, warm and seductive scent). I think this one will be similar to it, with a much more citrus-y feel, of course. Does anyone know the actual release date? Or at least the month?

genny17

Solar notes are in bright summery notes, like tiare, neroli, jasmine..Mugler does that to perfection.

MysticRose

I find it rather hilarious that 'solar notes' are a thing, since the Sun is a big ball of gas (which generally don't have a smell), and nobody has gotten close enough to know what it smells like.

mirul

how solar notes smell like?
