Angel Muse by Mugler is a Amber Vanilla fragrance for women. Angel Muse was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Quentin Bisch. Top notes are Pink Pepper and Grapefruit; middle note is Hazelnut cocoa spread; base notes are Patchouli and Vetiver.

In April 2016, Thierry Mugler will launch the latest addition to the famous gourmand, Angel, the "futuristic - gourmet" Angel Muse. As Angel from 1992 represented the first gourmand perfume, so is the new edition announced as the first gourmand scent of vetiver for women.

“New fragrance, new bottle, new codes: a shock wave is shaking up the Angel galaxy. Angel MUSE, the new Eau de Parfum you will hate to love.”

Angel Muse is here to renew the style of the gourmand fragrance genre. Its accord is luminous and not too sweet; it gradually develops into an elegant gourmand to stimulate our "olfactory appetite". The composition is developed by Quentin Bisch, containing a sweet accord of hazelnut cream with the elegant, woody and typically masculine character of vetiver balancing the creamy sweetness.

“To make an analogy, you could say that Angel Eau de Parfum is the star, while Angel MUSE orbits around the star and revolves as if around a galaxy.” Christophe de Lataillade, Creative Director for MUGLER fragrances

The bottle design is described as a “cosmic pebble", made of an elliptical, silver, metal ring with gently ambery, nude glass in the middle which reportedly evokes the surface of Mars.

The face of the perfume is Georgia May Jagger, who followed the steps of her mother Jerry Hall as the face of the Angel perfume line. The photographer of the campaign is Sølve Sundsbø.

The fragrance is available as a 30 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

Aeternitas

Muse smells just like its original Angel predecessor, but with the interesting addition of creamy hazelnut. It’s delicious. I’m surprised the vetiver isn’t killing me, because I do not do well with vetiver. I think I prefer Muse to the OG, but since it’s discontinued I guess I’ll cherish my Muse sample and stick to my OG Angel!

drugstore classics

Well made, strong, long lasting, excellent sillage, and true to Mugler's profile. The fuzzy note here almost resembles powder, so if you hate powder be aware. The chocolate is non-realistic, similar to that in Angel the OG. Truly, if you love the original it would be hard to dislike Angel Aura, because they share much of the same DNA. That is my personal feeling. I smell too much Angel to be comfortable, as one who Likes Patchouli rather than loving it!!

Not a love for all, obviously, but that is not a bad thing. Perfume needs personality. Patchouli beast, yes, but so well done.

Katou117

Reformulated? I don't get as much hazelnut cocoa as I used to with my previous bottle. I loved that perfume but my new bottle doesn't have the same cocoa prominent note I smelled with the other one. I know Alien was reformulated, maybe L'oreal reformulated this one too, before they decided to pull the plug on Angel Muse and discontinue it. Am I the only one with this issue?

Cloverdosee

Addictive and alluring.. this fragrance is a gem.. it’s a shame it’s discontinued :/

Edit: no but like what if weeee brought it backkkkk??? 😀😭 I only bought a sample vial but this is literally too beautiful and gorgeous and sexy to be discontinued!! Like actually what is the reason lol because all I hear about this fragrance is the fact everyone loves/loved it! This is literally Angel’s hotter sister and she deserves the spotlight again! #BringBackAngelMuse

Edit 2: oh my GODDDDD every single time I put this on I cannot get my nose away from it!! I would genuinely akin this to addiction like I NEED MORE.. my 1ml vial is already almost gone and I’m panicking

Edit 3: EEEEEK!! I got my 1 oz and I couldn’t be happier.. thinking I should’ve just pulled the trigger and get the biggest size but I’m sure this will last me a bit.. side note.. I haven’t seen anyone mention the atomizer on this perfume?? It’s so nice! Imagine something similar to Burberry Her’s atomizer except if it was just a bit more forceful.. I just love this perfume! It’s very quickly becoming my favorite.. out of the handful I have so far, this one seems to mix the absolute BEST with my body chemistry.. it’s simply just mesmeric <3

nigels_human

The Angel DNA on this dissipates rapidly on me and I'm not mad about that. The dry down is beautiful - fresh patchouli, amber, and incense akin to Chanel Coromandel.

loves2read

A strong like. I can´t see /smell/ any similarities with Angel, but hey, we are all unique and each one of us has a different perception of things.

For me it is mature, it is fun, it is sexy. It is something that a muse would wear :).

I don´t think it is office friendly, although it is not screechy. It is just THERE :).

Elyka21

Love hate relationship and I am not sure why.

marietangerine

This defies gravity. It is powerful but luminous. It’s heavy but airy. The Angel DNA (sweet patchouli) is very present, but Muse has a dry feel, likely from the vetiver. The “Nutella” smell is definitely there, but it doesn’t show up the way you expect. The peppery grapefruit brightens the creamy sweet hazelnut thread right up. It is almost reminiscent of herbal tea, like a chocolate rooibos.

Perfect for fall and winter. Great longevity and strong projection. I think anyone could wear this.

Sissen

What a blast. The Angel DNA is definitely there but Muse is much less fruity and « in your face ». Muse is a dryer gourmand, the nutty side is perfectly balanced with the vetiver. It’s like laying on grass with someone roasting hazelnuts next to you. Gourmand but not cloying, nutty but not edible, earthy but not as dirty as Angel. Elegant and decadent at the same time. A masterpiece. It’s a shame that’s it’s been discontinued. I have some backup but I will miss Muse when I will run out of it.

brandiwine1980

I really like Angel Muse! It’s sexy and mysterious! Too bad it’s discontinued. I think it’s the hazelnut that really makes it! I don’t care for the OG or patchouli in general, but this is nice. Too bad I can probably only afford a travel size.

Tigerlilley9

A friend gave me a sample of this. Based on the notes I did not expect to like it much. THIS SH*T SLAPS! On first impression the sweetness is too much for my personal taste. If the vanilla was turned down a notch it would be perfect. Either I got used to it or the sweetness isn’t as strong on the dry down.

I haven’t been able to stop smelling myself all day, both in the sense that I can’t get enough of it, and also in the sense that if I’m breathing I’m smelling this perfume. Just when I think I’m used to it I discover something new in it. It is strong and seems to project a lot, so I was a little worried that it might offend my family, but they are all as obsessed as I am.

Too bad it was discontinued. I’m glad I got it anyway because it taught me an important lesson that many of you probably know (I’m a late bloomer): there’s a pretty big disconnect between what I think I want to smell like and what I actually want to smell like.

Nocciola23

Easily one of the best perfumes ever created. I hadn't noticed a similarity to Ani by Nishane, I find Ani to be far more spicy in the opening notes.
If anyone is looking for a dupe, there is an Australian brand called Asedos that do a perfume oil rollerball of Angel Muse. I haven't tried it yet because I still have my Muse going, but it's good to know it's there as a back up.

Brazilnut

@bug.juice.184: Have you tried Ani by Nishane? I am testing out a trial sprayer of Ani and immediately after spraying thought they mistakenly put Angel Muse in my bottle. Muse was my signature scent for YEARS but now that's it's discontinued I have to ration what's left of my open bottle. Ani is a bit spicier in the opening and less sweet in the dry down. Similar to Angel Muse, also has pink pepper, plus the addition of ginger and cardamom. This combo plus the patchouli dry down is definitely giving Angel Muse vibes. Not a 100% dupe, maybe 80% but the closest I've ever found. Hope this helps!

hazrit

I acquired a sample of this randomly at a thrift store at the beginning of my perfume journey. It isn't something that I ever would have tried based on the notes. But I'm very glad I did- it's the first perfume that I had the experience of spraying, not really knowing what to think- but then just coming back to it over and over. It grew on me but I couldn't explain what it was I liked about it. I remember poring over the reviews, concluding it was probably the hazelnut that I was drawn to, but the hazelnut would come in and out of focus for me, like complex fascinating perfumes can. There's more to it than just that. Upon re-sampling now, I am enchanted by the blend. The grapefruit is delightful, it also comes in and out of focus. Overall this is one that's more than the sum of its parts. It almost smells like run-of-the-mill department store generic, but it's so much deeper and nuanced. I don't generally love patchouli, but here I don't mind it, and assume it's a vital part of the energy and nuance. I don't know that I would ever buy a full bottle- I don't think it really smells "like me" but I do like smelling it on me.

bug.juice.184

@OfTheValley please share what is the dupe for Angel Muse, I searched and tried, and nothing comes even close, I have bottles left, and I need it for life, but hate to hunt bottles. I adore Muse and can't find alternative.

OfTheValley

I have already written something here about this perfume, but I reckon only now that it was rather a suggestion for an alternative after its discontinuation and not a proper review, so here it is:
This is in my top five fragrances, and I have a big collection.
I am not a patchouli fan, but I totally love this loud, earthly patchouli/vetiver/hazelnut spread combo.
It starts citrusy, earthy and muddy, morphs into a nutty, chocolatey center and ends patchouli and vanillary :)
It leaves a lovely trail, stays on for 8-10 hours and is a compliment getter.
This is genius, a real masterpiece, a unique scent for real fragheads. It's Mugler's legacy, now destroyed by a company launching mediocre stuff like Angel Nova or elixir. I need to stock up and I already found a faithful dupe for this, I never want to run out of this gourmand magic.

Bottle up for trade… message me ;)

vibrant.girl

The vetiver in this one mixes with the chocolate in a minty way… and makes it one of the few patchouli-based frags that I can tolerate. The grapefruit provides a brightness and a general fruitiness but it isn’t bitter or citric at all. I also like the EDT but I’m so glad I’ve got a little bottle of this in my collection - it’s richer and more interesting to me.

Msala140

Got me a travel size of this after trying the edt and fell in love with that one , decided to try this one . This one is more chocolaty . It’s so delicatble. Get a bit of the pepper but not too much, just right along with a bit of tartness from the grapefruit . The hazelnut comes through which helps balance the tartness of the grapefruit . I also get some woodiness but on my skin not so much just enough to ground it . It’s so nice . I can’t make up if I like this more than the EDT.

stinkyfrog

words can't describe how disappointing this is for me :| i tried to like this SO hard but every time i spray it on my skin, it just smells like... paint ? puke ?? a bit of both ??? it's so repulsive it makes me gag.... i've never washed something off my body so fast

edit: just smelled secretions magnifiques for the first time and this is still worse

Studphobic

I cannot even begin to say how sad I am that Mugler discontinued this. I've only smelled the EDP, would love to try the EDT. I've bought three back up bottles of the EDP haha. I didn't like Angel, the patchouli was too dirty in that one for me. But in Muse EDP it's much smoother and it really gives the fragrance a sexy edge. It's a very longlasting and heavy scent that screams cool and confident. Warm, rich, a slight hint of chocolate. It's not listed but I also get a black tea vibe. An absolute love.

Snugglezzz

Finally got my hands on some and I'm in love! For me, it's the best perfume I've ever smelled. I want a fragrance that is really unique and complex but still full of yummy chocolatey notes. There's nothing else like it (including original angel). It smells like a beautiful lady who spends 100% of her time in a big luxurious bed wearing one of those sheer robes lined with feathers and she just luxuriates there eating chocolate croissants.

shery k

Weird scent too heavy
Woody chocolatey
Grape
Sexy ,sweet not over sweet
Classy you can feel all the notes clearly but more wood an cacao
😊

Got this perfume last year and still have it.

I love love Angel muse it’s very strong and very long lasting.
I love Mugler fragrances too they all smell so good and they’re very unique.
Couple years ago I was looking for this fragrance so I bought one for a good price and when I received it I hated it so much until I realised I bought the wrong perfume which was the edt I bought.

I did not know there was an edt version as I worked with debenhams years ago at the perfume department and I was familiar with all the fragrances and the Mugler Angel muse so at the time there was only one version. So at 2023 I finally bought the one that I know which is the EDP and I absolutely love it and brings so many memories. I’m so happy I got it and I have two hehe

TWINKLE, TWINKLE LITTLE STAR

# A Muse is one of nine inspirational goddesses of literature, science, and the arts in Greek and Roman mythology.
# Muse is an English rock band.
# The Muse is a 1999 film directed by Albert Brooks.
# Muse is a town on the Shweli River, Shan State, Myanmar.
# Muse Watson (born in 1948) is an American actor.
# MUSE - Mercer University School of Engineering, one of Mercer University's eleven colleges and schools.
# MUSE, a brand name for Prostaglandin E1, an erectile dysfunction treatment.
# MUSE, a 2026 proposed orbiter mission to the planet Uranus.
# Angel Muse, a fragrance designed by Quentin Bisch for the French fashion company of Thierry Mugler.

Angel Muse EdP was announced in 2016 and is claimed to be the first gourmand vetiver for women. It reached the market as the first wave of renewal in the women's fragrance division of Thierry Mugler. I do not agree it is a flanker of the original Angel. Angel Muse received the name of that famous perfume but represents a new page inside the Mugler book of feminine perfumes (unisex for me). It's a totally new product line in my opinion.
The presentation is very beautiful, drawing on a spatial and extra-terrestrial concept, and shining on any collector's shelf.
Angel Muse is woody and incisive in the tradition of a unique MUGLER gourmand. Thierry Mugler has proved that one can make modern perfumes without pepper and suggests a pink pepper vibe in the opening, but playing with a composition of red berries mixed with grapefruit notes. The grapefruit confers some citrus acidity, is unexpectedly not fruity, and gives a somewhat balanced impression.
The middle notes offer us a hazelnut cream heart with chocolate. Yes, it's a strong Nutella vibe that ends up characterizing the main olfactory accord of the fragrance.
The background chord houses two frequent notes but usually never in a combined form without moss, musk or wood. Mugler marries his signature note from the initial Angel - strong patchouli - with a remarkable woody and masculine vetiver. The prominent patchouli and hazelnut ensure the recognition of Mugler's DNA and appeal to many of his angelic followers. This combination suggests the aroma of caramel pudding and candies from Luna Park, which we are already accustomed to with the Angel drydown.
Angel Muse is not a champion of performance, but his sillage remains high enough to provide enough projection to please even the casual Mugler brand faithful, and its longevity satisfies any suspicious critic.
Without any doubt, as in the Angel line of fragrances, Angel Muse is used as a perfume for the colder days and nights and gives a very high sexiness aura to its wearer. It is an excellent fragrance, worthy of succeeding or accompanying the long journey that the Angel can still have in the market. And it remains a somewhat unisex gimmick for many men who wear it. I personally like to apply it from time to time... like today.
Angel fanatics split up a bit between hugging or repelling this latest Mugler proposal. Angel Muse is neither too sweet nor too feminine which are two main features of the whole Angel family for ladies. This less sweet Muse blending suggests to us the masculine perfumes of the brand, the male Angels, and in particular, the A*Men perfume. If we put the Muse juice in a bottle of Pure Wood (just because of the colour), we can surely fool a lot of people with a fantastic new A*Men Pure Nutella.
Let's see the scoring of this sexy pink star:
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
- Opening: 8.5 (nice, seductive and cool with tangy notes of grapefruit and red berries; It prepares the way for the hazelnut cream heart, the perfume DNA in my opinion)
- DryDown: 9.0 (vetiver intermingles with patchouli; very nice and alluring, but I would like it more intense)
- Longevity: 8.5 (3 good sprays may last up to 8 hours, maybe 9 hours)
- Sillage: 8.0 (up to 6 feet at its peak, 2~2.5 hours of projection, with 3 heavy sprays)
- Uniqueness: 9.0 (I don't claim to be an expert in feminine fragrances but, besides the original Angel and Flankers, and some of the Angel Men offer, I am not aware of any familiar fragrance. All the mentioned scents belong to the Mugler brand)
- Wearability: 8.0 (very easy to wear but avoid hot weather)
- Versatility: 8.5 ("all around" versatile feminine fragrance provided it's not a sweaty activity - consensual sex excluded; fantastic for a night out or clubbing; a bit cloying for the office or casual daily wear; I consider it as unisex)
- Compliments: 9.5 (This fragrance is a compliment magnet)
- Quality: 9.5 (Well above average quality, quality ingredients, nice flask, nice cap, nice sprayer)
- Presentation: 10.0 (no faults, beautiful, elegant, and nicer than the original Angel star shape)
- Price: 7.0 (50 ml non-tester for €41 on a FragranceX sale, but its cost is usually similar to the regular Angel price)
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
- Overall rating: 8.69/10.00
- between 7 and 8 =above average;
- between 8 and 9 = recommended;
- bigger than 9 = don't miss it;

Advice: If you still don't have it, just order it provided you are a Mugler fan. If not... you should try it before buying it. I do consider it a unisex perfume. I do have some masculine perfumes that smell more feminine than this one. The patchouli and the vetiver make a remarkable twist in this hazelnut and chocolate spread fragrance.
Recommended? Yes!

AmyP707

Angel Muse was absolutely such a beautiful perfume. It boggles my mind why they would discontinue this one it was unique but still gave the Angel vibe but to different masses. If you didn’t like Angel then Muse was a sure bet. But no they bring out Nova and Elixir “yawn”. Really you actually think those are better than Muse??? I mean really Alien is better than Muse?? It smells like insects repellent with a mix of glass cleaner. Get your house in order Mugler and realize you had a classic here that you let slip away!

jreyes366

In the United States, this fragrance is discontinued.
I fully blame the Clarins ownership that was bought by L'oreal. I hate to be the bearer of bad news y'all. Stock up if you can.
This is one of my most favorite Muglers, ever! Although I admit OG Angel is my signature, I also love Angel eau de toilette(2019) too. I'm just a Mugler girl, what can I say. I'd love to smell the first Angel eau de toilette(comet bottle) I'm sure I'd love it. I also love Innocence by Mugler. It used to be called Angel Innocence so it definitely is an Angel flanker that fits in beautifully.
However I will not ignore the fact that Angel and it's sister Flankers(meaning they have the Angel DNA in the composition) are not super easy to wear and that The Angel line can be very polorizing. Either you love it or you hate it. There really is no in-between. It is also said that Angel chooses you. I 100% concede that, you have to give this a few tries to "get" it. If all else fails, try out Angel Elixir. It doesn't have any of the patchouli notes and is a solid vanilla gourmand. Also, if you like fruity, flirty scents; try Angel Nova! They have an EDP of Nova and an EDT. One last tid bit of advice, Mugler EDT's perform like an EDP. If you want to save some money, look to the EDT and see if you like it.

blackamethyst

I got this first as a sample. Oh my God. I literally had no expectations as I was analysing the pyramide here and I wasn't expecting something big. Totally wrong. I love, love LOVE this fragrance. Absolutely my new favourite, I got the sample, wore it whole week and then purchased a full bottle from a friendly mate I found in a Facebook fragrances group. This scent is something else. Warm, earthy, chocolatey. Different. I'd also say mysterious and sexy. Definitely not for anybody, needs to be tested first. But I know for sure this is my new favourite. My favourite out of the Angel series along with Angel Elixir.

batuhanavci

The best Angel flanker ever! More refined and polished version of Angel with a delicious Nutella and vetiver twist.
I'm so in love with this that I have 4 back up bottles. It's very potent but I like to over spray regardless. Gorgeous for the cold days of winter.

TexasOrangeBlossom

Such a masterpiece! I don’t say that often.

cottonpuff_

You're carrying some chocolate dessert but you dropped it on the ground, now the chocolate is covered with soil and grass lol. The chocolate scent is there for sure but it's covered with something earthy.

TerceraMolar

Love at first sniff!🫡
Mugler never ceases to amaze me, their perfumes are so unique that they should be classified as niche quality once and for all! , this one smells like a chai latte with chocolate but don't be fooled , it is not that sweet, it's strong with spices, and a touch of hazelnuts, a femme fatale perfume 💀🖤 how sad that it's discontinued, they love to discontinue the best ones...🥵
L'Oréal it's mopping up Thierry Mugler's name with dirty water , It already happened with womanity, Aura, and now Angel Muse, it literally makes you want to cry 🙂

⚫️Longevity >> 10/10 (12 hours on skin, in clothes this thing it's nuclear)

⚫️Sillage >> 9/10
⚫️ Sexy? Oh hell yeah!

This is ferrero rocher truffle and decedent lindor truffle! Decedent and rich! Fantastic winter fragrance!!! I couldn’t wear Angel it didn’t work with my chemistry but this is a winner!!

scachomba

It's powerful

MrsJackDaniels

OMG, it's SO DELICIOUS!!! If you walked by me wearing this, I would be tempted to lick you! 😉
A slice of spicy chocolate cake with sweet chocolate frosting.

IsSheNotFragrant

I'm a patchouli head so of course I love it. I had an on/off relationship with Angel but Muse is the acceptable of face of Angel. Its a very good, very wearable all rounder. A little bit of sweetness but patch is definitely the unapologetic star of the show. I'm all set with a new 50ml purchased recently from an online retailer before they disappeared altogether. Color me happy..

Moonshine_Strawberries

Angel Muse is a scent for fragheads. Since it’s discontinued and was never super mainstream and a pretty unique scent profile, people are unlikely to smell like you or recognize it. And it’s a refreshing change when you want to wear something different for yourself. We do love variety in our collection! I definitely am happy to add a partial bottle to my collection for that reason.

It is quite similar to La Nuit Tresor but I do think it’s different enough that someone wouldn’t mistake it for that. Testing side by side I do prefer LVEB but appreciate that Muse is not so universally familiar and LOVE layering the two.

It is a bit syrupy but not bad IMO. To me, really sweet scents make you smell like a middle schooler and I don’t categorize this that way.

tabascohoe516

Beautiful scent. Definitely more wearable than OG Angel! The dry cocoa and hazelnut notes come through beautifully, and the dry down is a very gentle vetiver-and-vanilla. I don't get much grapefruit or pink pepper, but it blends enough in the top AND the Nutella note is so gorgeous I find myself not looking for them or focusing on them at all. Angel Muse certainly leans feminine and is marketed completely toward women, but I wear it as a man, and it wears fine - as long as you wear with confidence ;) - and I get many compliments.

I'll never forgive L'Oréal for discontinuing these gems for the sake of profit, but that could be an entire post on its own.

fiongrance

Selling a 50ml bottle in Canada. 99% full. Sprayed 2x. A bit too heavy for my liking, but great lasting power.

Samasama

Patchouli is a really fascinating note. This is all chocolate with citrus rind for me!

Was it habituation? Or maturation?

I dont know, but if you grab it in mint condition give it time to develop.

Got mine from an old perfumer’s shop about to close, such a bummer that she’s not even opening doors anymore cause there was so much old unopened Mugler stuff in there.

Got my 50ml for 37€ and feel so lucky.

ingrid.superstar

I had a travel spray years ago that I eventually passed on, but just needed to give this another try after getting into wearing pre-L'Oreal Angel. As someone who is a big fan of Angel and Angel Muse edt, I just can't make Angel Muse edp work for me. Some combination of notes (pink pepper, grapefruit, and vetiver?) gives this a peppery quality that I can't stomach. While I can smell the strong resemblances to OG Angel and Muse edt, this is just one of those cases where something puts me off a fragrance that it seems like on paper and by way of comparison that I would really enjoy.

Angel Muse edp is sharp, woody, nutty, and sweet in turn, though I do not get the intense sweetness that some reviewers have complained about. I find OG Angel *much* sweeter, which suits me better. Indeed Angel Muse's lasting power and sillage are impressive, but to me it's quite linear. Interesting, but linear. I hoped for a chocolatey hazelnut note to appear, like a surprising ghost, the way others have reported, but it never came. If you're seeking chocolate in the hazelnut spread here, know that there is much more of a strong (albeit syrupy) chocolate note in the original Angel.

Fenissa

@Célia Pais yes it is sadly discontinued.
Another masterpiece bites the dust.

@neferpitoo Angel Muse is incredibly potent. Either you've lost your sense of smell, or that bottle you have, my friend, is a fake. Two sprays of Muse and you'll smell it for many hours. Anything more than that and it's very overpowering, both for the wearer and those within their radius. 25 sprays? That's equivalent to around 8 days of wear in one go. Just no.

Célia Pais

Has this perfume been discontinued?

The person below...25 sprays? ...😭🥲 I only do 1-2 sprays and it's so strong. I have a tester, if that makes any difference...I've heard people saying that testers are stronger, but idk if that's true or not😅

Kimi203

Angel Muse is a tamer, more feminine sister of an original dragqueen Angel 😅
She is sitting naked and cosy wrapped in her chocolatey-nutty velvet blanket by a fireplace with a frivolous book sipping hot cocoa with spices.

Fruit-chan

Absolutely scrumptious perfume.Just beautiful. When I first smelled this I was literally drooling. One of the very few perfumes I've actually used up complete bottles repeately. This is hard to find but not impossible and I think its going to come back eventually.I dont worry much yet because I only need 4 spray to last me all day.
This is truly angelic.Fills up a room.Walks in before I do.Its good for all year round in my opinion.Since its very chocolatey.
One time I got into a car wearing this perfume and the driver asked me what Im eating and that eating is prohibited in the car.

Showard3

Earthy hot chocolate powder. So cozy and perfect for winter.

bellashannon5555

Am I missing something or just crazy? This smells very, very weak to my nose with the exception of the patchouli which strikingly gets stronger if you attempt to wash it off??! Weird. I love patch so I don't mind at all but it was just weird to me. This is a very light scent on me and very very reminiscent of Angel. I don't get any sweetness (I don't in Angel either).. On my skin Angel smells of patchouli and soap. I don't get any "hazelnut" or cocoa or whatever the notes are.. I get what seems to be a kind of watered down Angel. I tried them side by side and yes, there is a difference and yes, I can mildly detect a subtle sweetness from Muse but it seems to all disappear shortly thereafter. Like I mentioned tho, that patchouli is still there hanging out for quite some time. I am so disappointed in this. I don't know what I expected but this isn't it. It leaves my nose longing for something that just isn't there.. it is in no way gourmand to me. Neither is Angel (to MY nose). Bummer..

Briar's Reign

Lovely fragrance. It's spicy and sweet, leaning slightly more spicy. It almost smells cinnamon-y. It's intoxicating but I wouldn't call it sexy. Not chocolatey at all to my nose. I hate that this had been discontinued because I really love it.

dexilio

What a beautifully complex scent! Wear this and be great, man or woman. My very minor and only gripe was the bottle's inability to stand.

eelii

Oh how I love Angel Muse!

I’ll have to be 100% honest, though - the first couple of times I sprayed it I wasn’t so sure about it. But there was something about it that made me want to keep smelling myself. I didn’t wear it for a while and just recently came back to it. Now I’m obsessed and some days I’m literally just craving this fragrances. We’re in the middle of summer right now, so of course it’s not the ideal temperature to wear it… But on some not-too-sunny days (like today)) I still spray it anyway and I adore it. It’s so interesting and comforting, but also kind of sensual in a way?

My husband smelled it on me today and then kept coming back for more sniffs. I haven’t found another fragrance that has this effect on him.. So of course now this is discontinued. I’m really sad about it, but luckily my 50ml bottle is still pretty much full so I guess it will last quite a while.

While most fragrances perform very poorly on my skin, this (and other patchouli ones) are lasting quite a while. I’d say at least 7/8 hours, but sometimes even more. Sillage is also pretty good, my husband said he could smell it at arm length and got whiffs of the scents when I walked near him. This was with 3 sprays (one on each of my forearms and one on the back of my neck). I personally wouldn’t spray more because I think this could get headache inducing if over-sprayed and I definitely don’t want to suffocate anyone.

At first spray, the patchouli and pink pepper are all I can smell, which I personally love. Then, after maybe half an hour it turns sweeter and I get that Nutella smell everyone is talking about. But the patchouli and pink pepper are still somehow present in the background and although I can’t detect them too clearly at this point, their “vibe” is still there to ground them and make the Nutella less gourmand and more earthy.

Comforting, interesting and addictive.

mqkm

Scent similar to Annicke 2 - sweet nutty gourmand unique, the other one has salty nuances. I love them both. Long lasting great silage but now discontinued.

chakalitpasshun

I’m sitting at home sampling fragrances for a date tonight and I just had the idea to mix
Angel Muse with Angel’s Share by Killian!! Omg. I feel like I just entered the thresholds of Heaven!! I am trying not to use Angel Muse too much since its discontinued, and I only have a sample vial of Angel’s Share but if you have both, TRY IT! You won’t regret it.

CathyNoo

How beautiful this Angel flanker is 🥹🤎 Classic Angel's patchouli with hazelnut cream. Warm, cozy and opulent.
Very interesting and unique fragrance. I can't believe they discontinued this gem 😭

Zoffe

Sweet Nutella patchouli. But not sticky sweet. Angel-vibes but works much better on my skin than the OG. Delicious but not completely edible. I find this much more complex and interesting than other gourmand-ish fragrances in the same price range.

CandyAlice

Angel Muse is a masterpiece! Has been a staple of mine for years. My love affair with Angel Muse started after sampling Mugler fragrances at Ulta.

Starts off with dirty patchouli. Then dries down to a scrumptious, delicious, rich chocolate! Seriously, can’t stop smelling my wrists ❤️ L’Oréal, why did you make such a dumb decision to discontinue this beauty?!

kbraun

if anyone is selling this please email me at [email protected]! I live in California

LulaValentine

This is lovely. I can’t pick out any distinct notes besides maybe the pink pepper up top. Angel Muse also performs like an absolute beast. I sprayed it 2-3 times the other day, in my room, with the door shut, and my mom walked into the house from the garage which is on the opposite side of the house and yelled out “what perfume am I smelling?! I can smell it throughout the house!”

I received a 10ml decant and this’ll last me quite a while with performance like this! I’ll definitely be buying a full bottle soon because I keep hearing this is (or has been) discontinued so I wanna get it before the prices really go through the roof. I imagine a 1.7oz will last me a lifetime.

This is definitely one of the strongest performers I’ve ever had the pleasure of spritzing on myself and it’s absolutely delicious too! Can’t wait to see how it performs during the cooler months!

natk

One small spray creates a nice and lasting scent bubble, and it smells amazing. However, I really dislike how it smells directly on my skin (I know, nobody should be doing that) so I guess I just need to spray it away from my nose :-) I only bought it because it's the great Perfumer's legacy that will very soon disappear from everywhere.

aspirina

Angel with a big dose of nutella. Delicious, yumminess in a bottle. Just got a back up bottle. Really hate that the new Mugler directives decided to discontinue this scent. On a brighter side, I discovered that Cuba New york is a dupe for original Angel with a slightly bigger dose of vanilla and sugar. Never a replacement but worth exploring since it is really cheap online.

Julie Davis

My partially used bottle came yesterday .. bought it on Mercari . I am wearing it today … it smells so good . Can’t stop sniffing my wrist . Powdery Patchouli and Sweet Chocolate . I want to wear it every day ! 🥰

Ethereal Love

I thought I was so lucky to finally find a tester for a great price since this is now discontinued, but it doesn't smell anything like what I expected. I see so many comments talking about Nutella, but where is the Nutella here?! It is very undetectable and nowhere to be found for me. I only smell menthol (could be the patchouli), with the slightest hint of sweetness. I'm so sad that I don't smell the chocolatey goodness that so many reviewers are raving about.

vulnicured

The first few times I tried Angel Muse I had a strong visceral reaction to the opening, it was suuuper strong and smelled straight up masculine to me, I never gave it time to fully develop on my skin because of it, but oh boy how this one surprised me once I gave it a proper chance!

This is super sweet, warm, cozy and addictive! I'm not a huge fan of patchouli (especially the Angel patchouli) however the patchouli here combined with the vetiver gives the fragrance this smokey, earthy, creamy tone to the deliciously sweet hazelnut in the dry down. This in winter feels like a cozy warm hug that just envelops you! I honestly can't stop smelling this one and it makes me so sad that it's been discontinued..

Truly a delicious creation, I'm in love!

Miss Bright

HEAVEN
I am mourning everyday for the loss of this amazing perfume and that I didn't buy some liters of this wonder while it was still available and affordable. The bottle is from another planet, the scent straight from heavens.

Angel Muse has some honey-like smell which is not listed and gives coziness to the peppery hazelnut chocolate of its core. It leaves a very elegant patchouli oriented creamy feeling on the drydown and some earthy vibes from vetiver.
To my nose, this is the most comforting perfume I have in my collection, classy and unexpected at the same time. Stays on the skin all day and I can even feel its warmth next morning rising from my pillow and sheets.

PLEASE BRING ANGEL MUSE BACK FFS!!!!
I'm heart broken 💔💔💔💔💔
👌🏻20/10

This was a blind buy that didn't really fit me. I want to love sweet gourmand fragrances but more than often I find them to be too much, I want to eat sweet pastries...not smell like them. I have reached for it maybe twice during the two-three years I've had it. Too sweet for my taste but for those that like chocolate patchouli combo will no doubt love this.

AnlisaC

Love it just bought another bottle since it’s being discontinued 😣! Patchouli and hazelnuts is what I get so pretty and I’m going to wear tomorrow for a graduation! Lasts all day and there is a sillage that’s noticeable!

10/10 hurry before it disappears!

Ruby Galore

Imagine the smell of Angel, remove the fruit, but everything woody, earthy, moist and sweet is still present, plus chocolate powder. It is simpler than Angel, Angel Muse literally, Muse, the model by which Angel was created, Angel Muse plus lots of flowers and fruits is Angel.

Ruby Galore

Patchouli patchouli patchouli, if you don't like patchouli don't buy! People write chocolate, yes, yes, there is, but patchouli patchouli uh-oh!
Advice, if you don't like Angel, you won't like this either, maybe it won't be terrible for you, but that patchouli is too similar.

Thranduil

Angel Muse is a creamy, hazelnut chocolate bliss with a touch of sparkling grapefruit.

The Angel for those who found the original Angel too intimidating, too fierce. Basically, Angel Muse is the day version of the original Angel.

Angel Muse may be an Angel, but it can fly on its own two wings.

Much sweeter than the original Angel, Angel Muse is certainly more wearable and approachable than its predecessor.

I have nothing but praises to sing for Angel Muse as, more than not, I simply want to smell like the most gourmet chocolate bonbon for an entire day.

Shame on you, L'Oreal. Discontinuing this masterpiece of a chocolate fountain has to be one your worst decisions to date.

LulaValentine

Can someone help me find some samples or small decants of this? I’m only familiar with microperfumes and didn’t see it last time I was on there. I wanna smell this!

tiffany.kim.wagner

Cadbury wholenut chocolate. This is what comes to mind when I smell this. It is very warm and comforting. Best for colder weather. It is so much better than the original Angel.

brooklynbby

stunning chocolate and patchouli, though a little goes a long way. I also was kind of suprised by how similar this actually is to the original, which could be a good or bad thing depending on whether or not you like Angel

DiaAnna

Discontinued… no words !!!! This is easily the best vanilla patchouli ever !!!!!!!!

aflakes

I usually love all of my blind buys, but this was a fail. It smells absolutely horrible on my skin. Extremely dated and just dirty. I think it's the Patchouli. Maybe it'll grow on me later or I can layer with something else but in the meantime, it'll stay right where it is...untouched.

mintchocolate540

Both Angel as well as Angel Muse are superior fragrances in the mainstream designer world. Angel Muse still has the OG Angel DNA(dirty patchouli) but more chocolatey & it's a Nutella/Ferrero Rocher goodness. Honestly, this fragrance made me hungry but still i love this fragrance sooooo much! Meanwhile, owning both is worth tho cause they do have differences in each other while still keeping the old Angel DNA but with a modern twist & performance wise, they're both amazing. Angel Muse is trillion times better than Angel Elixir, it has the same quality as the old Angel(Clarins version not L'ORÉAL) unlike Angel Elixir is just DOG SHIT💩 another Black Opium again&again SYNTHETIC CHEMICALLY CHEAPNESS OVERLOAD. L'ORÉAL discontinued this Muse is such a criminal & disrespectful to us Angel+Angel Muse lovers. Also, they discontinued this just for fuck sake to promote their new DOG SHIT(Angel Elixir)💩 which they made with no effort in it & the notes are just BASIC as fuck with a price tag that is JUST TOO HIGH & NOT-WORTH-IT-AT-ALL🙄 Since Angel Muse is super hard to find, I'll stick with Montale's Chocolate Greedy & Ristretto Intense Cafe to enjoy more mouthwatering chocolate sensation🍫🤤

0h3ricaa

Angel Muse smells just like woodsy honey! It is deep, sensual, and soul warming. I am on my third bottle and this will forever be a staple in my collection! So sad to see this has been discontinued recently.. will definitely buy a backup and use sparingly. (Not that I need to because a few sprays last the whole day!) (;´༎ຶٹ༎ຶ`)

Rihanna Rebl Fleur is a great dupe for this perfume, it has the patchouli and honey that is so loved in Angel Muse, but is more fruity in the opening!

WHERE would I wear this perfume: Date, Vacation, Cruise, Romantic anniversary.

Nocciola23

This is hard to find these days! I managed to find a bottle duty free in Auckland airport btw.
It's unusual to say the least. It has a very medicinal note in it that is probably the sharpness of the patchouli mixing with the gooey Nutella note.
Someone wrote that it is reminiscent of wet, rotting wood in a rainforest and I get it! But it's not green or mossy, it's sweet and has a yeasty top note you'd experience when making bread.
It's so unusual and intoxicating I'm glad I have a bottle for the experience alone.
Definitely not a safe blind buy though.

cocodust

Well, I have waited a long time to try this and it’s an interesting one. I love the dry down , I get all that wonderful Nutella goodness this perfume is known for but there is something in the start that is slightly damp and heavy for me…I picture a thick bit of wet wood slightly rotting and splintering and that’s slightly unpleasant . At the price point AM is I don’t know if I would repurchase. Perhaps my search for the perfect choco perfume continues….

OfTheValley

A little consolation for all the Angel Muse fans: Liu Jo Milano reminds a lot of it, albeit not being quite as loud as AM :)

Osarolen

Years ago I couldn't stand Angel, it was suffocating, dense, awful. Groundbreaking, but not for me.
Then, one day, I've no idea what was passing in my mind when I decided to try Angel Muse.
Love at first sight.
Magic.
What happened then? L'Oréal happened! And the urge to get backups....

Kimkeen08

Please give this review a thumbs up if you think Loreal are Crazy in having this perfume (😋Angel 🥳Muse discontinued). Me personally i felt i could never enjoy another scent like i enjoy Angel EDP OG…..& then i met Angel Muse 😭its so beautiful 🥲soft and sexy Angel version. Why would they discontinue that 🤯🤢😵💫😱😭😭😭

dreamypeony

i love it so much, but cant really find it in my country anymore. i wore the two last sprays i had of it yesterday, truly cozy and comforting! love the chocolate and hazelnut in it and the woodiness.

jessica_chinos

I absolutely LOVE this scent. It's a shame it's discontinued. The black chocolate note with the pachouli is just HEAVEN! I can't stop sniffing my arm, so feminine, sophisticated, delicious, profound gourmand perfume! One of the best gourmands I've ever known. It smells intense but not over-the-top. It's not office friendly, in my opinion, unless you want to flirt and hook up with a coworker, and make every man drool over you.

I think is perfect for date night on cooler weather, PERFECT for a rainy day. Also amazing to use it on a casual Netflix night with your partner, and be cuddling with a chocolatey aroma, YUM!

Ursula-Rod

I don’t get any chocolate or hazelnut here. I get dark woods with something sweet almost like honey. It is a sweet and dark perfume I don’t love it but I can’t get enough of it. Eccentric and unapologetic sweet dark goodness.

O+M+D

The original Angel is pure patchouli and chocolate goodness.

This version of it... to get to the yummy nutella note you have to make it through the offensive pink pepper that gives it a generic perfume-y quality to it. Regretting this blind buy :(

taylorcake1

Every time I wear this I get at least one compliment. I’ve been told I smell like sweet fluffy waffles, a bakery, dessert, overall people love this on me and ask what I’m wearing. Angel Muse is sexy, unique, unapologetically bold.
I love it so much, one of my favorite perfumes of all time. It seems pretty clear that she’s discontinued.
I was looking at my 1oz bottle with like two sprays left, realized how much I’ll miss having it, and bought a 3.4oz. I still feel regret not buying other discontinued scents I’ve loved, and I’m not gonna let this one go.
If you love Angel Muse get it while it’s still around.
Treat yourself, you deserve it! 💖

Amberli07

This is another masterpiece from Mugler. It’s a beastmode Nutella and patchouli scentbomb. Very strong and dries down to a sexy coziness like nobody’s business. Forever a favorite of mine. Of course they had to discontinue this just like the other masterpiece Alien Essence Absolue.

AuraAngelMuse

I can see this being very polarizing, nauseating, etc to people who aren't accustomed to how loud Mugler scents are. I had tried the EDT before this and I definitely like the EDT better. The EDT opening is more fruity and then it fades to a sweet, woody, powdery chocolate. For me the EDP opening took a few days to get accustomed to. It's very loud at first and almost smells like something my great grandparents would've worn, like one of those super strong vintage perfumes. Something in it leans feminine and something leans masculine. It's woody yet it's sweet and chocolate-y. I've been spraying this on my skin and JPG Scandal on my shirt to get me through the overly woody and strong opening. Once this fades, it's beautiful though. Literally it's wood and sweet powdery chocolate, that's the only way I can describe it. It almost gives a cinnamon cocoa vibe. I smell something similar to this in a few different Angel's I've tried like Eau Croisire and Angel Nova. They all have this sweet, deep, woody base to them that I find very lovely. Overall, I may repurchase while it's still available around here. It definitely seems like a scent that could get tied with a memory or a season because it's unique.

Edit: After a while I decided I will not repurchase this version. EDT would be the only Angel Muse I would ever buy again. EDP is just way too much. The opening is crazy intense and not in a pleasant way for me.

poodleParty

This is such a unique perfume. It's warm, cozy, sweet and earthy at the same time. I don't use it as much as the EDT, because I don't think this is a crowd pleaser (the patchouli can be very strong and BO-like sometimes). I think the important thing is to spray lightly. 1-2 sprays max.

Do you need both EDP and EDT? Yes, you absolutely do.

tayloreades

When I first tried this, I hated it. I didn't spray it on my skin, the patchouli scared me away because I used to associate it with dirty BO types of smells. But I've been looking for a sexy date night fragrance and at the same time, trying to clear out my fragrances of things I haven't touched in a while, and when I stumbled across this, I think I found what I've been looking for. I sprayed it on my skin and it just blossomed into this sweet and frankly sexy smell. It's inviting and I really think it could be unisex. If you sprayed too much, I think it would be nauseating, but it's so yummy!

Tony Shades

Check the French website of Mugler. It's still there and it says "en rupture" (out of stock) with a "notify me" button when it will available again.

Fenissa

It has been discontinued and in the UK and Europe it is sadly no longer available on the Mugler official website. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Tony Shades

The availability or unavailability of a fragrance in the store must not be confused for "in production" or "discontinued". A discontinued fragrance might still be available in the stores for months after it has been discontinued and a still in production one might be unavailable because it's out of stock, as in this case. Always check the brand's website to see the status of a fragrance. If it's discontinued, they remove it from the website long before it disappears from the stores.

ChocoLei

This is such a wonderful Angel flanker! I love it. I remember first trying it not too long after it was first launched, and I really got that Nutella accord, it was spot on-- I couldn't believe it. Fast forward to this year and I don't get the Nutella accord anymore, unfortunately--- I don't even get chocolate. However, it's still a great and unique scent.

The opening is amazing. Grapefruit and pink pepper are listed but I think the intent was to create a juicy, fresh pineapple accord because this is what I get! I made my 11-year old nephew smell it without giving him any piece of info about the notes. The first thing he spontaneously said: "This smells like pineapple!"
Pineapple can be a very tricky accord, as it can often leans in the soy sauce territory. This is not the case here, it smells so fresh and juicy.

Then I get the strong Angel DNA and its sweet, dark, enchanting patchouli. I wish I could get the hazelnut chocolate accord but I still love Angel Muse EDP very much. It pairs beautifully with Kayali Vanilla 28 and these two make a great combo for night outs. Angel Muse EDP also works great as a gourmand patchouli for more casual occasions in the day time, either on its own or paired with something more fun--- but it's definitely a cold weather and/or night scent as it's so potent and dense.

A great Mugler that I will cherish until the very last drop.

Tony Shades

A delicious hazelnut choco bomb, BUT in the drydown. Many people rejected it because they were put off by the harsh patchouli opening and didn't wait for the drydown. Whoever reads this and identifies, I recommend them to try the Muse again with more patience.
PS. No, it's not discontinued.

heasson

This is how the main character from the novel Chocolat (J Harris) would smell.

bazilfrance

Is it me or this smells like the early before reformulation of angel but with less patchouli anf more of the chocolate goodness . Really good tho ! 🤍

susana_lago

Wow. I was not going for it after having the Angel Muse EDT, and reading many reviewers say they prefer that one and that this one is too much... But I got it gifted for my birthday, and now I think you truly need both if you like the EDT (and viceversa).

This is EXACTLY how I remember Angel Original's smell. I was little in the 2000's and I remember liking the Angel original bottle in the shop, so I smelled it. I remember that sparkling blue star bottle smelling chocolatey, so gourmand (truly edible) and quite unusual in a good way. Literally the way this perfume smells. Angel Original nowadays is nothing like I smelt back in that day. Maybe my liking has changed, but I really doubt it changed to THIS EXTENT. Because now, I REALLY DISLIKE Angel Original.

On the other hand, this one smells so greenish and intense at first but in a weird way, like earthy, but it cools down in a couple minutes and turns only chocolatey and green (like the mix of chocolate-hazelnut with a quite aromatic-spicey plant). I really really like it. It's so so original and different to everything else.

When I was reading reviews here on Fragrantica I was hoping for someone to assure me I would like this one if I only have (and love) the EDT, but everyone was going from EDP to EDT, saying this one was too much and that the other one was more likeable and softer. That's the reason I didn't buy EDP myself.
The EDP is more intense and less "fresh" because of the passionfruit of the EDT, BUT the final combination smell is quite similar in these two. This EDP also smells more like chocolate and hazelnut than the other one (ironic, because the notes say that the other one has more chocolate), and the EDT smells more greenish but depending on the day it changes what you get more of.

I also feel a disclaimer is needed: if you never smelt any of this two, don't expect the classic-realistic-overly sweet chocolate scent. It's not THAT obvious or gourmand as the "natural" smell of chocolate, with sugar and all of that, but it quite resembles a very dark chocolate smell. If you want the vibe you get the vibe, but it's not the literal smell of a chocolate bar. I feel many people get disappointed with these two perfumes because of that. Don't forget this is still a Mugler, not your classic-sweet-girly kind of scent. It's more for confident women that don't mind to stand out.

Anyways, if you like this one, I truly recommend you buying the two, they're similar but not the same, and I feel like this one EDP would be the fall-winter scent (for colder weather) and the EDT the spring-summer version (but suitable to all year round, more versatile). Both for day and night with the right temperatures, in my opinion.

So sad this is getting discontinued, it's truly a gem 💔

strawberrystar

Surprisingly, I like this fragrance quite a lot. I was expecting a sweet mess with patchouli, and I was fearing the orange chocolate scent, but this scent is very spicy and nice on me. I don't really get orange chocolate thankfully. I cannot stick my nose close to my skin or it becomes too much, but I freaking love the whiffs I get when I move around. I loooove the dry down on my skin. Spicy and addictive. Could this become a love, I wonder.

Lollo

I really like angel muse but my husband think it smells like playdough on me….

Gyps

Very beautiful fragrance like every Mugler I have tried. Strong, chocolate/hazelnut and patchouli forward. Definitely has the OG DNA with additions. Love Mugler perfumes 😍

OfTheValley

Layering Angel Muse with one spray of Chocolate Greedy by Montale or Velvet Chocolate by Kalotinis makes it the perfect gourmand scent: love it

razorsinthenight

I personally love this more than angel. The way the grapefruit transitions into this Nutella like patchouly is amazing. Def one of my favorite fall, winter and nighttime fragrances!

Bethsheba

Controversial opinion: This is a better composition than Angel, for me at least. It's a chocolate hazelnut Angel as opposed to cotton candy Angel. I find it very beautiful and I'm genuinely sad it has been discontinued. Performance and silage are beast mode with pre-L'Oréal bottles which thankfully is the version I have. The bottle is incredibly tactile. When I wear this perfume I keep the bottle in very close proximity so I can touch it. It's like having a lucky pebble in your pocket.

Greensprite

wow l'oreal really watered it down and ruined the longevity before they discontinued it :/

oxoandigurloxo

I love this perfume. I get all chocolate! However, this reminds me of something.....reminds me exactly of the chocolate scratch & sniff sticker, from the 80's.😁

Ambrocia scents

Love this perfume so much. Though it was a blind buy that was not love at first sniff, (because I did not get the creamy nuttella everyone claims to smell) . Instead I got a very aromatic, potent sweet abnormally rich tea-like smell. During one of the 20 times I was giving it a chance lol, I finally smelled the powdery cacao scent, in the dry down though. It still smells like rich sweet tea for me in the beginning, very aromatic, but I have grown to love it for what I smell in it, not what most frag-heads say it smells like. I said I tried it 20 times I was for real, be patient dont be quick to give away your fragrances! Even when you dont like them in the beginning. Theres no guarantee you'll grow to like or love it but take your time to atleast understand it and appreciate the art the perfumer was trying to convey, then you can give it away, with no chance of future regret👍 all this with the exception of Chanel no 5 lmao throw that shit out the window 😢😩

SELFCARE_INTROVERT

Sweet; Sexy and Dirty. Beast Mode! I wouldn’t say it’s a Safe Blind Buy.

supergirl9412

Opens with a happy, juicy, not-overly-tangy grapefruit (much needed in this fragrance!) and is followed by a not-too-strong Nutella note and a blend of vetiver and Mugler’s signature dirty, sour patchouli.

I really have to be in the mood to wear this … it’s kind of a challenging wear as is to me. I think I would like this better if the patchouli was of a different type … smoother, more Chanel-like. Mugler’s patchouli is just not my favorite. It could also benefit from a longer-lasting grapefruit, a slightly stronger Nutella note, and a quieter vetiver.

Good lasting power, best for cold weather.

wquila

I'm practically here today because Angel Muse has been on my mind a LOT lately and the last time I smelled the vial was 3 years ago.. and it was hate love. Today went to smell that same vial and man..... so mature yet so playful. Why did I even hate this? It's actually beautiful. It'll grow on you trust me baby.

mechawitch

I think I very much prefer the EDT version. On this EDP all I can smell is grapefruit and vetiver, and the vetiver pulls off too prominent and masculine on my skin. I do not get the hazelnut spread note, which I definitely can detect on the EDT version. Strangely, I also feel that the EDP performs way worse than the EDT. I will give it a couple more wears to see if I end up keeping it or just sticking to the EDT.

TDSollog

If you want to smell like sex and chocolate, this is for you. I've received plenty of NSFW compliments.

Eveoairo

Tried it at the drugstore: Loved it
Bought the full bottle: Hate how it smells on me

My mom seems to love it though so she gets it for her birthday. I guess this was a lose, win situation

books.art.dogs

I swear, Mugler heard of Stockholm syndrome, then decided that's what they'll do with their fragrances lol.
Every time I try a Mugler scent, I think "eh, it's okay. A little strong..." Then what do you know, two months later I'm in love.
Every.
Time.
At first I only "liked" this perfume because it smelled too much like the original Angel- that really strong patchouli. But mannnn I have fallen in love. Angel Muse is this gorgeous, warm spicy fragrance. I wore it to work today, and I have been complimented by every person I've spoken to. I went out into our sculpture garden, and our gardener stopped to ask me what I was wearing from over six feet away. To me, that really speaks to Angel Muse's performance.
I'm absolutely heart broken that this gem is discontinued. It's honestly one of my favorites. I'm definitely going to be buying back ups.

herculano

Once you fall for this, it’s massively addicting.

I’ve never received compliments while wearing it (granted, I don’t get out much these days as I work from home) and I suspect for most people it’s an acquired taste. I think if I wore it around my boyfriend often eventually he'd end up loving it, but he wouldn’t love it at first. He would have to become acquainted little by little…and eventually…seduced by it. I think it has this effect on people, as opposed to immediately casting its spell. It takes time. But once it’s got it’s hooks in you, you’re helpless to it. At least that’s how it happened for me.

It’s ALMOST savory (as opposed to sweet or flowery). Very unusual.

I have owned it for months, and I’ve really enjoyed it, but now in winter I am falling HARD for it.
It’s one of those perfumes that I smell from the bottle even on the days I don’t wear it.

Someone once described this as sticking your head in a bag of dry loose black tea, and I really relate to that description. That’s pretty much what it smells like to me. And I love that dry tea leaves scent.

I don’t find it as bombastic as others do, although it does last pretty long, and has a gentle yet lasting projection if I spray generously.

Getting one more bottle!

This is something I wear purely to please myself. Pure aromatherapy. I find it immensely satisfying to my soul.

I have to keep myself from wearing it every day, lately.
Why?
I don’t want to blow through my bottles too fast, and I do not want to tire of it.

Peaches&Cream

I love this perfume so much! It isn't sweet or headache inducing, on first spray I get the pink pepper but once it fully dries down I smell the Hazelnut cocoa with a soft patchouli. It lasts hours on me and my clothes, this is day 2 that I am wearing Muse and I am in love with this scent.

Mugler and me do not get on. With the others I've tried (Angel, Croisiere, Goddess), upon first spray it's like I've taken a dozen paint tubes and just thrown them at a large canvas and hoped for the best, so at first it's a mess and a clash of very dominating notes. But throwing Angel Muse at the canvas, at first spray I did think here we go again, but as the notes settled, it has created a masterpiece.

Seeing Nutella as a note had me dubious but it works incredibly well. It's warm, rich and captivating and I feel so confident in this. I want everyone around me to get close and enjoy this gourmand as much as me, and when I say close I mean within a mile- this is powerful! And bonus, it's NOTHING like the OG.

xyrildeleon

This is very polarizing!! I sprayed this one time on a blotter and the whole house smelled like toasted biscuits with hazelnut. First time I sprayed it reminded me of apollo strawberry chocolate. The only downside of this for me is it dries down a bit generic sweetchouli, think la vie est belle.

Michellyt

I just blind bought this. I love it. The first thing I smell is patchouli. It’s rich and powdery with a hint of chocolate. I love it’s strong presence. It’s warm and comforting. I’m very happy with this purchase. Thanks to all of the reviews on here to help me understand what this perfume is really like. It helps so much to receive such descriptive reviews. ❤️🙏🏻

This reminds me of being in the dirt/fertilizer section of a garden shop. Definitely has the DNA of the original Angel (that patchouli/vetiver) which...also happens to be a fragrance I'm not a fan of. This is really just too earthy for my taste (as someone who leans more fresh/sweet). I was curious about the hazelnut note because I've been trying to find a good chocolatey perfume and people would bring this one up a lot, but unfortunately I don't get that note at all. That pungent, peppery grapefruit at the top, sure, but after that it's just that Mugler patchouli. Definite scrubber for me unfortunately.

joshua_123

I’ve recently started an obsession with Mugler fragrances. They usually wouldn’t be my go to, but I have a love for Alien and recently fell in love with Aura.

I usually shy away from anything labelled with ‘Angel’ as I can’t stand the OG. I have a full bottle, with the aim of getting accustomed to the scent, but it’s too sharp and not sweet at all. I can’t get past the body odour smell and don’t understand why anyone would want to wear it.

However, I purchased the EDT of Angel muse and happen to love it - it’s more or less a fruitier/sparklier version of this without the chocolate note. Reminds me of raspberryade.

I recently had a notion of trying this perfume again, and decided to read the reviews on here. Seeing that it has been discontinued, I purchased a 50ml today.

It is an interesting fragrance. The patchouli note is still there, but maybe not as strong as the OG. The chocolate note in here is lovey and becomes a lot more interesting when the fruit notes start to show. The dry down is very familiar to the OG but the notes are a lot smoother/creamier rather than a screechy mess.

I will reach for this quite a bit going forward.

karlee79

This is absolutely beautiful, I keep getting whiffs of cinnamon or gingerbread 😍, the chocolate 🍫 is thick and creamy 😋, it's definitely patchy but not as bad as the og with I despise because its nuclear. This is just better blended and smoother with the grapefruit note.

A while ago I was shopping online in one of my favorite beauty shops and got a great deal for some perfumes + Angel Muse as a gift. I've tried it two or three times, didn't find the scent or longevity to be something special.

I decided to test it again today and sprayed just once on my arm. YO GUYS I SHOWERED FOR LIKE AN HOUR AND SCRUBBED IT TWO TIMES WITH A LOOFAH AND MY PRETTY STRONG SMELLING BODY WASH AND THIS THING DOESN'T COME OFF! 😍 The scent became even stronger and more sweet after showering.

I literally didn't expect that as perfumes sadly don't tend to last long on me even if there's no water involved. I'm super happy with it and can't wait to use it on some special occasion like Christmas lunch.

I've only used it once when going outside and I really enjoyed how beautiful and mature this made me feel without being too strong and making me sneeze every 5 minutes.
Love this, highly recommend!

Kaylovely

I prefer this to Angel or any Mugler really. So beautiful, hazelnut beats Madeleine. Discontinued scent, your not gonna smell like everyone with this one. I love it! I have a small bottle and a larger backup. Hoping to never run out! It is a tart gourmand scent. I mean what do gou expect with the notes listed? Pink pepper spicy with grapefruit and hazelnut cream. Yum!!

vanillashpice

I purchased this off impulse with no regard for its use and regret it . Not because it’s bad but because I just am not crazy about it . It’s a warm super sweet thick scent . If you have angel you do not need this . They smell almost identical to me , and this one you can get for cheaper and has less annoying packaging . I’d go for this one . I do like how it morphs on the skin and the patchouli makes it earthy it is nice for the fall but nothing extraordinary here

ad4

Very similar to classic Angel but little bit less conflicting. The composition is smoother. Longevity and sillage is similar to classic Angel. I love both versions and I'd buy the whole bottle.

AlexandraTroush

I love this one, but as the years go by I now understand that I much prefer to wear it in the heat, and that my winter companion is the EDT version. The EDP goes borderline sour on me in the cold, but sweet and creamy in the heat. The EDT is just what I want from Muse in the cold- it's comforting, it's joyous, and the sweet nuttiness is just right. In the heat the EDT suffocates me, in the cold it makes my knees weak. Weird, but this is exactly how I feel about the two. I can't imagine only having one of them now.

Stephaniex44

This was a gift but I unfortunately don't really like this. To me it smells kinda "heavy" and it almost makes me dizzy and kinda suffocating. It smells like warm woody almost vanilla and in theory it sounds good but it's just not for me. I can kind of smell praline in there. It just smells sweet and the heaviness of what I'm assuming is the patchouli note blocks my nose. I could see a more confident, mature woman wearing this though. Just not for me

CeeTee

If you like Mugler Angel, or any derivative thereof, you’ll probably like this. The notes listed are exactly what I get. The citrus is a fun, and an unexpected twist in this lovely gourmand. But these top notes don’t overstay their welcome. I do love that they give me a little rebellious feeling that I get with all of the pre-L’Oréal Muglers! 😎. It makes me feel like I have a secret and I cannot be controlled! (Maybe I have issues. 😂.)

I find the damp-feeling vetiver to be more present than I would’ve suspected. This is another standout departure from OG Angel, so maybe that’s why I was surprised. I really love it mild to chilly weather. Nice performance, too. I don’t know if L’Oréal has this in their line-up.
———-
**Edit: Yes; L’Oréal did make this in a box that states Mfd. for CFG Neuilly-sur-seine, with a L’Oréal batch code. The Clarins version has more of the Nutella, whereas, the L’Oréal has less “Nutella” that’s outshined by the patchouli.

This perfume is interesting. I blind bought this. At first, I hated it as it is not a perfume I’d traditionally wear. I couldn’t find the hazelnut spread note unless I searched for it, and then only a little bit. But I wore this a few more times and now I smell the hazelnut every time I spray it. It has decent longevity, it lasts faintly into the next day. What is most interesting is I’ll smell something different through the day with this on my wrist. For the most part I get squeezed grapefruit rind dipped in hazelnut spread. At other times the patchouli and vetiver come out. And then back to hazelnut. Then grapefruit. For me, there isn’t a progression from top to middle to base note, it’s just what it is whenever it wants to be. I’m a patchouli lover, so maybe this is why I keep sniffing my wrists with this. I will say it has grown on me. The more I wear it the more I enjoy it. Sillage and projection are OK, longevity is good.

EmpressVision

I bought this because I enjoy chocolatey notes. 🍫🍫 After buying Montale Intense Cafe & Bond No. 9 I Love NY For All...Angel Muse is not enough. 😕 The sillage & longevity are a tad below moderate on my skin. Not enough chocolate for me. But I get it, the price point definitely better than Montale & Bond No 9. I gave my bottle to my daughter.

MaxieF

I really love this scent. I don't personally think it smells dirty like BO.
When I first got it I sprayed it on my hand and my boyfriend said he liked it a lot.

But..a few weeks later I wore this out and sprayed my chest and the next day my boyfriend used the car and when he came home he said that the seat belt smelled straight up like a stinky armpit. HE ACTUALLY ASKED ME "did you maybe have bad BO last night or something?" ...... 😳 I just said of course not, I don't STINK...😩. Smelling clean is SO effing important to me...
Needless to say I haven't been able to wear it again because I'm terrified that someone will think I smell sour.

Also, he loves patchouli and uses patchouli soap himself. I just think that the Grapefruit is sour in this fragrance that mixes with the patch and makes other people smell BO.

Light blue forever cologne has that exact sour Grapefruit smell that can smell a bit like an armpit but it doesnt go dirty because there's no patchouli. I wish they'd just release it without the Grapefruit. Also the EDT is even more sour. EDP is better IMO.

mermaidshimmer

I wore this today and tend to reach for it when I'm in the mood for a unique chocolatey fragrance. This one is heavy on the patchouli and nutty hazelnut. The "patch" note gives it the strong projection for the first hour or so, and if you breathe deeply of the perfume during this stage, it can get a bit too heady and camphorous.

As the fragrance morphs into deeper chocolate and hazelnut, the wood note softens and the perfume becomes less pungent.

I would say this isn't a safe blind buy for you if your preference is for sweeter, softer perfumes. I believe this is a polarizing fragrance and you'll find that many people intensely dislike the notes, while there are others who are attracted by its uniqueness. I personally dislike Mugler's Angel perfume, but Angel Muse appeals to me when the mood strikes me.

Bebeck

This is an instant patchouli bomb which I'm not massively keen on and Laurance Dumont Vanille Chocolat is an exact replica. Where it differs is that Angel Muse becomes slightly lifted by the citrus. I don't get grapefruit as such. Just a slight fruity citrus note with the pink peppercorn.
The dry down is much nicer. Powdery hazelnut and cocoa with slight vetiver.
The longevity and sillage though are poor. When dry, it's almost instantly intimate on skin but you get waves of projection with your body temperature changing.
I bought the EDP as I own the EDT hoping for a strong and longer lasting scent. Whilst it performs slightly better than the vanishing eau de toilette, it isn't enough in my opinion, and as such is disappointing. Will give it a spray on clothes and see how it lasts.
It's a nice fragrance but not nice enough to be a reliable, go to, favourite fragrance.
Vanille Chocolat is a pretty good dupe and much cheaper. Probably performs the same too.

Edit: It definitely lasts longer on clothing although it seems to be the patchouli that dominates, unfortunately for me.

Fatima1219

I love this. My husband loves this. I will always have this included in my collection! Angel Muse is sophisticated and classy. It is the fragrance of the professional, yet modern woman, who is not afraid to grab life by the horns and go the distance! This fragrance packs a punch, and does not back down for anyone. It takes a licking, and keeps on swinging! Wonderful!

Kotikina

Yes, it is a Nutella +pink pepper+ grapefruit + vetiver +patchouli bomb. I truly smell all the notes listed. It is sweet, yet a bit spicy, cozy, but a bit sassy at the same time. A head -turner for sure. I love it.

gafew

Thank God I decided to blind buy this one. I came to realize after blind buying this that I didn't like the original Angel at all but when it's got the hazelnut nutella vibe added to it, the patchouli in Angel DNA works like magic. It's nutty and creamy like you bath yourself in a hazelnut spread. Once in a while, when you think your perfume is gone, it will whiff itself up to your nose and you'll get a delicious smell of Nutella with patchouli. For gourmand lover out there who's still on his/her journey to find a chocolate based perfume that has something more than just your typical cup of hot chocolate, you might wanna give this one a try.

Mahmoudalhasan008

Angel Muse; It is the most delicious and the coolest perfume that I have tested, I love it, delicious, lovely...

Astroditz

This has quickly become one of my favorites in my collection. I blind bought a 30ml for a good deal because I knew I already liked the original angle and I have the edt. I much prefer this to the original and to the edt, though I enjoy both. I find the original angel a bit too sharp to wear very often, but I do love it on the coldest winter days. This is great because it's still bold like the original but it's sooo much creamier. It doesn't smell like a bar of chocolate like some people seem to expect. Its nutty and creamy so hazelnut spread is accurate. It's dark and it's creamy, spicy and sweet. It's like a creamy hazelnut chai latte! It's delicious. I like wearing it to bed but I wear it all times of the day. It's much easier to like than the original angel. For me a safe blind buy but this is my kind of thing. I'll be purchasing a backup soon!

scissorhandedly

I don't always dislike patchouli. I dislike this one. Somebody on YouTube likened this to bug spray - I don't disagree. This has more things going on, like the hazelnut spread note, but I just can't get behind this composition. It's awful in the opening and dries down to something like a 2.5/5.

ChristyFirefly

Another warm fragrance that will soon be mine.
This is the scent of a sexy girl with thick brown hair. She is independent, she is self-confident, she is not afraid of anything. She comes into your house, takes off her beige coat and casual suit and gives you all her warmth. This evening will be full of love and comfort, but the next morning you will find only the smell of chocolate on your pillow. You may not meet again. Perhaps she has too much to do and she is not up to you. Maybe she didn't exist at all.

catdealy

i blind bought this, and was reallyyyy not into it first sniff, all my nose could smell was spicy pepper with a small chocolate after-smell. 30 minutes in + it has fully transformed into a soft creamy chocolate with that pepper peeking through right at the end. super happy with this !! 💭🍫🤎🧸

Rcates78

I am a LOOONNNGGGG time wearer of Angel (20+ years) and am just, for the life of me, unable to see how Muse is different enough to be flanker-worthy. I have other pepper perfumes that play that chord better and the vetiver here, while noticeable for the first couple of hours, doesn't seem to be a major theme (despite the assertions of the marketing copy). The citrus in the beginning is bitter and lovely but buried and fleeting. The chocolate is perhaps a touch more prevalent in the drydown, but otherwise plays about the same on me as Angel does, serving to soften the patch and make it more palatable. It certainly will appeal if you're looking for something less complicated than the OG. For myself, I prefer the complexity that defines Angel.

Luca Turin gave Muse 4/5 stars in his Perfumes 2018, and lauded Bisch's modern use of vetiver, so maybe I'm just not sophisticated enough to discern why this flanker would appeal. In any case, I'll enjoy my sample but stick to spending full-bottle duckets on Angel.

JamieSmells

I don't find this to be long lasting nor is it a beast mode. I love the scent, but I am disappointed in the strength and longevity.

Update: I received two compliments while wearing this, I couldn’t smell it on me. So I take back my comment on it not being to potent. It is, but when in doubt over spray!

Lukuzga

On my skin this smells like si by Giorgio Armani mixed with honey; it’s is absolutely delicious 🤤

kookaburra1000

This scent embodies a sexy girl with a middle part, tooth gap and a charming laugh. Forget that Vyvanse script for your low libido, this fragrance is all you need.

justcheckinout

In L’Oreal’s batch (2021), the patchouli is the same as that in L’Oreal’s batch of Angel EDP, and the hazelnut cocoa spread is sweeter but less hazelnuty, so the first 15 minutes of the new batch actually reminds me of the new Angel EDP instead of nutella. The L'Oreal batch also lacks the grapefruit, replaced by the honey-like sweetness in the new Angel EDP. With the pink pepper, the opening actually reminds me of marzipan. On the other hand, my old bottle of Angel Muse (2016 batch) has that same earthy, dusty patchouli as my old Angel EDP (2015 batch). Dunno if it’s a reformulation thing or my old bottles have aged, or it could be both. The drydown of both batches of Angel Muse are still the same though, very much like a chocolate liqueur. The sprayer mechanism of the bottle is really good, and I think that helps the performance of the fragrance. It does have strong sillage and I can still smell it on my own after 9 hours of spraying!

EDIT: I went home and sprayed my old bottle on my elbow, and it's definitely different from the current formulation. The old bottle actually matches the official list of notes, and does use the same patchouli from that era of Angel EDP. The nutella with that creamy hazelnut note comes out within 5 minutes of spraying. I guess this is why I thought it doesn't smell close enough to Angel EDP when I wore it in the past... The opening is still sweet but you can tell there is grapefruit because of some citrus notes.

Htheone

I love the scent! This edp is not that long lasting, only in my hair when the weather is warm and I sweat more. I also have to overspray to be able to smell this after some hours on my clothes. Funny, but I find the edt version longer lasting, especially on clothes.

windchime_00

I wonder if this was reformulated as well with the original Angel. With the original, I love the old version and feel nostalgic about it, but the newer version is just awful, no redeeming characteristics. I decided to try Muse thinking it might be more of the things I like about the old original, but with softer characteristics. It starts off with that same horrible screechiness (whereas I love the overwhelming mix in the old formulation!) and then after a bit it settles down to a palatable milk chocolatey potpourri which is nice, but not that exciting. I am glad I decided to sample first without blind buying, even considering I found some good deals on new bottles.

I have a feeling this was reformulated and I would have loved the original, but it goes from harsh to something not very interesting, so I am glad I limited my buy to a 2ml decant.

Edit: About three days in, I smelled the paper again and I could smell the creamy hazelnut, gentle spices, white chocolate? It was very good, but not worth waiting so long for! I tested it on my skin and only got the rough parts mentioned. This stage skipped my skin completely. It's really a shame.

JamieSmells

I love the scent and yes it smells very similar to Angel. I honestly was expecting a beast mode of a fragrance but I can't really smell it on myself after 4 hours. I have to sniff my skin to get a whiff of it after 4 hours, not sure if it was the batch I got. I purchased it from Fragrancenet. only because I heard it was being discontinued and I was not able to find it on other sites, it was rush purchase. Maybe I need to wear it more to see if others can smell it on me, to be fair I only wore out yesterday lat in the day so I can't really attest to it as someone whose worn it for longer, I out some on today as well and like I mentioned, its not really a beast mode as I was hoping it to be. I can tell though this is not a summer perfume due to its gourmand and sweet notes.

just28

This is sex in a bottle.

Please don't wear this at the office.

It's so good though. Very very addictive. You get the grapefruit for sure, and the patchouli with vetiver giving it a dirty, interesting, unique edge. I love love love this fragrance but the only reason I don't have it is because I don't see many occasions to wear it.

Stronggggg as hell too. I was walking down the street the other day and I smelled it on the girl walking in front of me. She was at least 1 meter away and I could still smell it. (Also I started walking to her rhythm so I could keep smelling it cause it's just THAT addictive). Wear it on a date. Or to a party. Wear it on the street for a walk when you feel bold and confident.

emilymonroe1

Angel Muse begins with a patchouli blast and zesty citrus fruits and red berries. Then the hazelnut cream arrives, which I find fantastic. And it's not a thick, sticky cream; it's light and airy, with a hint of rose to keep it light rather than heavy. The angel muse shines in the center, while the rose, as previously indicated, gives freshness and stops it from being too heavy. It smells like sweet patchouli, rose, and hazelnut cream, and it's practically edible with a hint of saltiness. It's quite addicting! The vetiver is a lovely accent since it stops it from boiling or overflowing over the top feminine! This scent is fantastic in my opinion! Excellent!

saintkoshka

I love this so so much. The chocolate and vetiver smell so good together. Personally, I think this is unisex. It may come off as offensive to those around you especially if they're not the type who like scents that are a bit on the spicy side. This is voted as a winter scent but god I love this so much that it's my signature scent at the moment. It's not sickeningly sweet, it's a fine balance between woody and nutella chocolate-y. I have gotten an older batch of this perfume but I don't know if they reformulated this, hopefully it never lost its strength and beauty.

ConcreteRose

I wish my nose can pick up all of these yummy notes! Unfortunately all I literally get is really earthy dirt smh. Disappointed maybe I should try the EDT.

silthrill

An earthier, woodier Angel. With Mugler’s death I’ve had some fragrance nostalgia and wanted to go back to the Angel, but didn’t want to smell like I came from the 90s. This has just enough homage to Angel without smelling too similar. It smells like an aromatic Nutella. Sexy and magnetic. Love it.

Milena94

By all the reviews I expected this to be a warm scent, but I definitely smell fresh citrus at first. The hazelnut comes in later. It’s a surprising combination of freshness and warmth, I couldn’t stop smelling it when I first got it, and sprayed it everywhere. I own Angel too, I thought they were gonna be too similar, but that’s not the case. They have the patchouli in common, which I had to get used to. This one is also strong and long lasting, maybe a bit safer than Angel.

igalmusic

Wow! I am in love with this scent! So unique and sexy, woody, earthy and spicy. I wouldn't classify it as a gourmand. If I spray it on a paper I can detect this hazelnut spread but on my skin is mainly pink pepper, patchouli and vetiver, amazing and super long lasting, smells more like a niche perfume than designer house.

Arida

Angel M, we will miss you...

jassca99

Chocolate and Nutella for sure. It’s true and it’s so good. This is the only “original” Mugler I seem to like, unlike the original Alien and the unbearable Angel. So I guess I’m neither an Alien or Angel girl, I’m an Angel Muse girl. The patchouli in this doesn’t scream at me like in Angel so I actually get the chocolate. It also allows for this to keep smelling like a perfume, so it’s not too literal. I already have my supreme chocolate fragrance, Tribeca by Bond no9, which also has hazelnuts, milkier chocolate with additional caramel and ambroxan taking it up a notch in the gourmand category. For that reason, I don’t need Angel Muse unless I want a less expensive alternative to use on regular days, but I also already have Black Orchid edt which I love but it’s discontinued. We’ll see but this is super delicious, long lasting and, like the others I mentioned, unisex.

soymilky

I truly cannot stress enough how much I love this scent I spray this on and immediately feel like THE main character. Amazing sillage & longevity (lasted for a week on my sweater) there simply aren't enough words to do it justice.

All She Wants

The notes listed in this fragrance sound so delicious. I'm not a huge fan of patchouli but many fragrances mix it in very well. I ordered a sample of this and the regular Angel. I love gourmand scents and could not wait to try these two. I tried Angel first and it wasn't pleasant. I waited for the dry down for quite sometime and all I got was a masculine patchouli scent. So I decided to try Angel Muse. I sprayed it on my hand and immediately could not rush fast enough to wash it off! I was overcome by a horrible and extremely heavy, nauseating patchouli massacre! When I ran for the sink, I had to pass it by and dive for the toilet, to vomit! This fragrance shook me to my core and had me discombobulated for the rest of the day. Definitely don't blind but this!

LOST_HORIZON

Angel Muse edp is one of the coolest chocolate patchouli perfumes I own. I believe that Muse and Aura are the last vestiges that we have had in true Thierry Mugler perfumery... Thierry Mugler perfumery was instantly recognizable: avant-garde, powerful, stellar...
I love using this pump...

NDL

I noticed muse edp on sale/clearance on a separate shelf at my local shoppers and the sales representative mentioned that it is being discontinued! I purchased two 3.4 Oz bottles! If you like this perfume, I suggest grabbing it now while you can if it’s available in stores!

miss_aly

The reason I haven't left a review for this perfume is simply because words CANNOT do it justice. This is one of my all-time favorite cold weather scents. I've never had a spicy gourmand that was so perfect until I found this one. Let's pray that Mugler (L'Oreal) NEVER discontinues this frag! If you enjoy warm/spicy sweet scents at all, do yourself a favor and try this one out. You won't regret it. It projects beautifully and has decent longevity. I own both the EDP and EDT. I prefer the EDP for its lasting power, but if you want a slightly less heavy version, the EDT is also amazing.

staraa

First time I smelled it my immediate reaction was: "no no, I can't".
But when it settled I COULD NOT stop sniffing it! addictive!
I smell something peppery and fresh among the the hazelnut spread and thats what makes this unique.
Cant wait for fall and winter to try out this magical scent again.

Melissaluvsperfume

I love this chocolatey goodness… so yummy, perfect scent for fall and winter 😊

wondervalley666

In the opening, it smells just like a tootsie roll/chocolate taffy. Quickly dries down into a more chocolatey version of Angel OG, softer, sweeter, lighter on the patchouli, but still with Angel DNA.

Zae

This parfum so mysterious strong unique and very addictive...
And looongg last

Silverquick

Only recently purchased as I’m rediscovering old scents and had a tiny Angel miniature which I managed to get a few drops on my hand and remembered how amazing it was on my skin. It’s winter and I’m seeking something deep and sweet but not Lollywater. Muse sounded good. I tend to make sweet things less sweet and sweeten unsweet things (woods/resins) so I am very happy with my experience. I get flashes of old Angel here but it’s softened by the hazelnut/cacao and I don’t get grapefruit instead what smelt like a deliciously sweet ripe pineapple. That then sits back and I get an almost sweet orange-like note under the patchouli and sweetness. Not overly sweet. Just right. Really very nice I’d almost say I smell ginger as well but it’s not listed. Very yummy.

Jloveparfum

Ángel Edp, is a Gourmand, which opens with patchouli, vanilla, caramel, chocolate, Etc... but Angel Muse Edp, changed all that to become something more earthy, opening with Vetiver, it smells of wood and earth. Ángel muse whets our olfactory appetite but unlike the original Ángel gourmand, Muse would be a Vetiver Gourmand. She's great, right? . Honestly, I don't feel the red fruits in its output, if the red pepper mixed with a soft touch of somewhat bitter fruit, with the exquisite Hazelnut cocoa, that smell of chocolate reminiscent of nutella cream but without sugar. I am fascinated with this fragrance, it is very addictive in smell. However, the resemblance between Ángel and Ángel Muse is not in their sweetness, but in the structure of the perfume. At its exit there is a bright, fresh explosion, with white flowers, jasmine, lily of the valley, all that florality similar to Ángel and mainly in the patchouli that is Ángel's trademark. Followed by a vicious explosion of a Magnificent and exquisite Hazelnut Cocoa. Ending with a magnetic explosion of patchouli and now also vetiver. In my opinion, Angel Muse edp is one of the best Flakers I have.

The substantivity on my skin is excellent for more than 10 hours with moderate diffusion.

Eveningrose

I would have never thought I would like this from the notes but it is one of my favorite perfumes of life! Opens with a passion fruit smell to me and settles into chocolate powder that is warm and deep. Such a compliment getter and it projects so well!!!!!! Love it ! Don’t let the notes fool you! Give it a try and maybe u will love it too!

bug.juice.184

I just want to confirm what Deutsch100 bellow said, I also contacted Mugler, and this is confirmed. Since Angel Muse is my favorite, when L'Oreal bought Mugler and started to ruin all perfumes, I bought as many bottles as I could of Angel Muse. I am so mad, I don't like being right at all. Imagine having Angel Nova and this new drugstore level scents and killing perfume materpieces. I am sad because of Thierry Mugler and his concept and genius that is being dragged down. I hope, as a dream, that Quentin Bisch, Olivier Cresp, Dominique Ropion, Jean-Claude Ellena and more geniuses unite and buy off Mugler from L'Oreal in order to preserve and develop further the spirit of Mugler, not just commercially but as a cultural heritage and legend at the same time. This is not a job for corporate greed.

Deutsch100

I contacted Mugler and shame on L'Oreal! Angel Muse edP has been DISCONTINUED. I am so mad; furious actually!

I just ordered three large bottles directly on the Mugler website (they are low or out of sizes, so hurry up). This will give me 5 large bottles in my back stock cabinet.

I have worn original Angel edP since 1994 and have gone through countless bottles, and even though it is still my most loved scent, my signature scent...the reformulations have killed longevity and sillage. In the 90s and early to mid 2000s, a few sprays would last 12+ hours on my skin. Current Angel edP is 100% gone even with 6+ sprays in less than 2 hours; I mean not even a skin scent. Really sad. Luckily current Angel still smells like Angel, but performance is pathetic.

Enter Angel Muse!! This will last on my skin 12+ hours and days on clothes! The warm hazelnut mixed with patchouli and vetiver are amazing. Very unisex, compliments galore and I love it almost more than Angel. I easily have over 60 perfumes in my fragrance library, and Angel Muse is one of the top compliment getters from both men and women. It works so well with my skin chemistry and the patchouli is so smooth and the hazelnut with the vetiver just make for the most well rounded scent; sweet, warm, deep and lush.

KylieBooFace

I have Muse on one arm and Angel (EDP) on the other (both new, L'Oreal). I am so grateful Muse and Alien Fusion have not been discontinued. Muse has a gorgeous bottle, as if it is a precious space pod bringing us fragrance from the stars. To my nose, Muse is definitely unique and special like Angel, with a slight menthol freshness (!) if I am reading that right.

The grapefruit and kiss of pink pepper opening reads so smooth to me. The smoothness is a bonus, because pink pepper can easily dominate a fragrance and start to be reminiscent of pencil shavings or something (e.g. Devil Tender by Ex Nihilo: pleasant but too much pink pepper to make it a "love." La Nuit a La Folie is saved by its hefty rose, fruit, and vanilla base). Muse seems to avoid that territory. The citrus is smooth and remains a whisper throughout.

If course, the "star" of the show is the chocolate and hazelnut combination. It's decadent without being cloying to me. The patchouli and vetiver introduce a darkness to make it deeply earthy and somewhat green. I wonder if i could get away with this in the summer if I spray lightly? Muse is a winner for me.

A generous forum member here gifted me a decant of the EDT, but I just was not a fan. I suspect the akaigalawood, as I am not an oud-y fan. A shame because I like the fruits too!

ETA: This will be discontinued? Yikes. Better get a backup. I'm going to revisit the edt too.

The 1.6oz is on sale for $70 with tax Mugler site. Go now to buy seeing it discontinued..

Omg! I love this perfume so much. The dry down is where the magic all happens. If they are really discontinuing this, it will be a shame.

Absolute masterpiece. I cannot get enough of this. I took it on holiday to Laguna beach last summer and it was just magic. My husband and both of my children kept saying "you smell so good" every time I wore it. I still wear it will and sometimes just open the cap to smell it. It is divine, creamy patchouli if there is such a thing. I think L'oreal is phasing this one out (why!), so I am searching all over online to have back ups. I am not really a back up person but this one and Alien Fusion (also being phased out) are backup worthy for me. Enjoy!

My review in 2022: As soon as I heard it was being discontinued, I immediately bought the 100ml refill (for only 60€!). I owned two refillable bottles of Angel Muse. On my skin if smells very sweet but fresh, like menthol and hazelnut chocolate. It definitely has DNA of the original, first batch of Angel, not the reformulated one. I wouldn't wear this in summer, though, as it would be too strong and I might choke those around me. This scent smells of niche perfume. Very unique. Oh and it helps me sleep better when I wear it to bed.

If Angel was a cacophony of camphor, sweets and fruits on a sweaty body, then Muse would be one that played with the same but with chocolates.

If you’d pay attention, it’s the same chocolatey quality which I wished that lingered in Ford’s Black Orchid. Here it’s hazed with the cumin-laden fruitshake.

With perfume snobs, this might be something to be dismissed outright for what, being vulgar but patience must be made as it works wonders on skin. This, along with Angel garners me compliments but of course applied judiciously as these can be applied as an extrait.

There’s still the passionfruit, blackberry, cotton candy, spices, caramel and the rest that Angel has. To me this can pass off as a great reformulation of Angel and not as a flanker but that’s me and it’s still a beauty.

Haha I can’t even figure out what this smells like. It reminds me of dry loose tea I think. And cinnamon sticks? It is very interesting…I pick up the hazelnut spread but it’s underneath that unidentifiable dark loose tea. A little smidge of Vicks Vapo Rub, yes. But it doesn’t bother me. One things for sure-this is UNIQUE. I may have to revisit this in the fall because its complexity has my attention. It’s alluring and tempting and I want to get to know it.

I have a love/hate relationship with this perfume if I'm on a killer mood this is the scent, it's strong, unique, boss lady, kick a*** and its addictive BUT sometimes there's a vicks vaporub vibe that I can't stand, am I the only one?
Projection reminds me of 80s perfume where you knew you were intoxicating everyone else. Longevity is also outstanding and it staying beautifully on clothes (no vicks vaporub there) and an absolute compliment getter. It's a shame it's discontinued this is an example of what an eau de perfume should be like

Another gourmand beauty that has been discontinued. I have a 25ml bottle of Angel which is cuter than this gigantic 100ml refillable bottle (don’t need bigger bottles in my collection ‘cos I can never finish it). I’m comparing cos they’ve got similar vibes (Angel Muse is the nuttier, creamier little sister of Angel). Angel Muse is heavy, strong and lasts long. Overspraying might give you a headache. It has prominent notes of patchouli and hazelnut cocoa spread. Spray with caution 😄.

Gourmandguru

I'm not really smelling the ''sweet'' smell that people are talking about.

miameytal

grapefruit.

Loud, long-lasting, and a deliciously 'praline' scent. Truly, it is hard to resist it. It has Angel's DNA, but Muse is warmer, creamier, and somewhat more tantalizing. I do not particularly like the bottle -- I always found Mugler's creations marginally unsightly -- but who really cares when the juice is so terribly, devastatingly remarkable?

Where I tend to detect a strident anise note in the original Angel, this is replaced in Muse by an enveloping harmony of buttery hazelnut and cocoa. Indeed, it hits all the right notes.

Ninalovesclassy

Unique, kinda long lasting (5-6 hours on me is long lasting). Smells like burnt cake in the best meaning possible.
I constantly get compliments for it - I wear it to work and the men just love it. They all say it smells like cake and chocolate. Very warm and nice, I love Mugler fragrances, I love the dirty earthy patchouli note. This one is a forever to keep and will repurchase it after I have finished it.
According to men (I also think so) this is quite sexy, because its different.

Coffeeandscents

I love angel muse!!! I was hesitant to purchase because so many reviews say it’s difficult to wear, but it was a love at first sniff for me!!!! It is sweet, earthy and powdery. It doesn’t smell like a chocolate bar , it smells like earthy patchouli and vetiver mixed with sweet chocolate powder. A coworker told me today I smell like a hookah shop. It does smell like sweet incense smoke a little bit. It is a very interesting unique gourmand scent. The opening is earthy and the dry down is creamy sweet marshmallows. It is sweet throughout the wear of the perfume. Amazing sillage and longevity. Quickly becoming one of my favorite scents because I love patchouli and sweet scents and this is the perfect mixture.

RachelLondon

Five stars. A big, sexy, chocolate-scented beast. Unmistakably Mugler. One of only a very few fragrances I've tried in recent months that doesn't seem timid and watery.

Fefe19

To me this as a gourmand/ non edible sexy scent. There’s a lot going on in this fragrance. I get a cacao powder but it is fluffy and creamy. It is heavy on the patchouli. The added vetiver note that blends it all is interesting and sets this fragrance apart from the conventional gourmands. It is so intriguing, I have become addicted to it!

I can’t believe how much my taste has changed. I went from tiptoeing around Angel for fear I might accidentally put it on to really liking Angle Muse. These notes should not work and yet they do. Grapefruit and pink pepper on top of hazelnut chocolate spread? Sounds about as clash worthy as toothpaste and orange juice. Yet, it’s working somehow. The grapefruit adds a tiny bit of tartness and brightness then you get an earthy, spicy, sweet, patchouli/chocolate/nutty base. This is all about hazelnut chocolate and patchouli with some musky vetiver rounding it out. If you don’t like earthy Patchouli then don’t even bother trying anything Angel related. I used to truly not like Patchouli now I’ve gotten to where I crave it sometimes. Angel Muse is very creamy and rich and musky. You can only put about 4 sprays of this on or you’ll be running the risk of offending people. But it’s the monster silage of chocolate Patchouli you’ll leave in your wake that makes this fragrance remarkable.

Hypnotic Flower

I was hoping it smelled more like a nutella pastry but unfortunately all I get is heavy patchouli :(

éciboszi

Angels give kisses to your forehead. It is caressed by a soft breeze. A pleasant tingling goes through you. This is his Angel muse ....

Tifffyy

When I first sprayed this it smelled straight up like a tootsie pop!! It had a little spiciness from the pink pepper, a chocolate, spicy tootsie pop, ughhhh! I totally thought it was going to be a huge flop, but after just a minute, it started blending very nicely into such a pretty and warm scent with a hint of smokiness. I actually love this so much! I don’t get grapefruit at all, not much hazelnut either, but when it blends together it is magic! It isn’t an overly sweet gourmand IMO, but it is yummy. I don’t get much of the original Angel either, this is so much softer and smoother, not at all as harsh or in your face.

Another reviewer said it was like a poor mans Tobacco Vanille, and I definitely get that vibe, this is just a bit more sparkly.

nessa_arroyo

Another popular fragrance that I couldn't wait to rub off my arm. The positive is that it has good projection and probably longevity since even after washing my arm the smell was still there. I'm sorry, but this is gross. Everyone said this is a wearable Mugler fragrance but I have to disagree. I smell the hazelnut spread but instead of it being a yummy note, it blends horribly with the patchouli and vétiver. Terrible opening, terrible drydown. After hearing so many raving and polarizing reviews about Mugler fragrances I figured this would be the safer option, but no. So far I've liked neither Alien, Aura, nor this one and this will be my last time trying a Mugler fragrance. This definitely gave me a headache. Another bummer.

Tincel

Bizarre opening due to the unconventional mix of infredients but pleasant enough drydown. There is an intensely bitter note here that smells like burnt rubber (sadly nowhere nearly as charming as Bulgari Black). Not sure if this is due to the vetiver combo with grapefruit & hazelnut. What's good is that even though the hazelnut is prominent, that bitterness makes it gourmand yet not sweet.

bloodyheartofparadise

angel muse is very much like original angel with the patchouli toned down a few notches and a huge dose of delicious hazelnut chocolate spread thrown in instead. this really is gorgeous and much more gourmand and edible smelling. the vetiver gives a slight spiciness that adds a little touch of maturity. i get no grapefruit from angel muse what so ever thank god. i've had numerous compliments from people when wearing this who all mistake it for original angel so bare that in mind if you're not a fan of the og, however i do think angel muse is slightly more 'wearable'. fortunately muse came before the dreaded loreal takeover and performs like an absolute mugler beast! sadly discontinued now but still fairly easy to find for a decent price online so get stocking up incase we get another alien essence absolue situation going on!

CaliBlonde

Basically a softer Angel mixed with chocolate hazelnut spread.

If you love gourmand scents it’s worth testing; no matter if you love or hate the original Angel.

For those that love the original, Muse has the same underlying sweet patchouli dna.

If you hate Angel, the original dna is toned down and the chocolatey hazelnut spread scent is what stands out. It’s safer and less polarizing than the original.

Earthbubble

I love this. It really stands up to the cold. At first I thought it was nothing special but then after wearing it for a few days I started to miss it when I switched frags. It's delicious. The edt is citrus at the top and dries down less nutty and more chocolate but the edp is musky at the base and stays yummy all day.
