Angel Eau Sucree by Mugler is a Amber Vanilla fragrance for women. Angel Eau Sucree was launched in 2014. The nose behind this fragrance is Dorothée Piot. Top note is Red Berries; middle note is Meringue; base notes are Vanilla and Patchouli.

Thierry Mugler presents new version of its most popular women's fragrance Angel from 1992. The limited edition for summer of 2014 is named Angel Eau Sucre.

“In summer 2014, Angel becomes more tempting than ever, transforming into the desirable and sensual, mouth-watering limited edition Eau Sucrée. A mischievous and delicious new interpretation of Angel, Eau Sucrée is an invitation to indulge in pure gourmand pleasure.”

The composition begins with juicy, tangy and frosted red berries sorbet. The heart includes a new gourmand accord of caramelized meringue cream. The final touch is oriental and sensual thanks to notes of patchouli and vanilla. The perfume is developed by Dorothee Piot.

The packaging is inspired by vintage confectionery and it evokes memories of childhood with its blue - white candy striped. The pearly star - shaped bottle is sprinkled with glitter that reminiscent of sugar. Available as 50 ml Eau de Toilette.

Unfortunately, today, I finished my favorite fragrance among Angel flankers - Eau Sucrée. This fragrance is a beautiful combination of the fresh frostiness of meringue and red berries. It manages to be both sweet and fresh at the same time. It's a very lovely, non-sticky composition that's versatile for any occasion.

Ez az első Mugler, ami megfogott! Mikor valóban szó szerint minden illatjegy megvan, az valami zseniális! Pörkölt, meg bogyós és édesen vizes pacsulis!! Ááh!

My second unicorn Angel flanker. Oh boy I love this. The puffiness and tartness of the berries compliments the patch and vanilla so much! It last a while, and smell amazing for the age of the Frag. I did try the other Eau Sucrees and I found 2014 to be the best with performance and overall feel of the notes. A great blend! if you like Angel, but want a lighter fruity tart version this is it!

Jloveparfum

In my opinion one of the most beautiful Flankers of Angel.

Ángel Sucrée, this bottle submerged in a sugary sea contains a happier and crispier version of Ángel Edp. The smell is sweet, fruity and vanilla but without being cloying, much more friendly and bearable. The diffusion is discreet but the substantivity on my skin can reach 10 hours. For those who do not dare to use the original Angel, this youthful, flirtatious and sparkling version can undoubtedly become an excellent option.

All 4 of the Eau Sucrée flankers are very similar: A nice combo of sweet meringue and sour red berries, with a manageable dose of Angel patchouliness in the background.

In my opinion Eau Sucrée 2015 is the most well-balanced and complex one, with 2014, 2016 and 2017 in a shared second place. In 2014 I was excited about the sweet, whipped cream, cotton candy feeling of Eau Sucrée. The following year I was even more excited that they actually perfected all that in Eau Sucrée 2015. 2016 and 2017 was a let down because all we got was more of the same. Bottom line, if you got one of the Sucrées you basically got them all.

The pepper punches me in the nose immediately- seriously, it irritates my nasal passages so I have to let it settle a bit. Then, as listed, I get sweet woody patchouli. It’s quite nice, but it feels like a man’s scent to me. I’m glad I sampled but didn’t invest.

JetsBabe

This fragrance is as beautiful as its bottle! I swear, when I first saw it, I said, "aw! It's tilted, so cute"

First sniff, I get mostly fruits (like guava, to me), and some sweet. The combination is mind-blowing, since it then becomes fruits with vanilla and sweet, which almost reminds me of the sweet prada's candy has (like that buttery sweet).

After hours, an almost nonexistent patchouli arrives, and all good! This was a blind buy I will always treasure and love. And by the way, I despise original angel, so don't fear this smells like original angel, cause it does not. Also, must mention the perfume sits close to the skin so I respray often.

Swedelish

This one is the best of Angel Eau Sucree. I've had several. The MUGLER ones from 2015 & later smell closer to one another than either smells to 2014. This first edition has a perfectly whipped meringue opening with crystalline forest berries. The patch is polite and mass appealing. 2014 is smoother and more complete than the later ones. The Sucrees are ESSENTIALLY all the same. Are they identical? No.

Formulas change. Mugler (L'Oreal) aren't obligated to tell us anything about what goes on in their labs. Even if we ask. If I were to contact L'Oreal and insist their Telescopic mascara flakes, dries out faster, is thinner than it used to be and ask them to verify a reformulation, they'd most likely say nothing has changed. But I know my mascara is different. Employees could be misinformed or, for all we know, chemists are the only ones privy to this kind of information.

My opinion is Angel Eau Sucree 2014 is the nicest of them. I've been enjoying it more lately for evenings at home when I feel like smelling sweet and cute. It's like Pink Sugar done up, or a slightly more grown-up, well-executed simple gourmand. Smelling it takes me to a wintery place.

I like the opague baby blue frosted bottle. It's eye catching
Much more so than yet another clear blue star one. As for longevity, it's pretty good for Eau De toilette. Same goes for projection.

Purchased samples based on delicious delights review as I seem to enjoy a lot her her favorites( YouTube ) well, I’m not a huge fan of patchouli and I’m def more of an alien girl than angel but curiosity won and a purchase was made- the opening reminded me of the sugar in Aqualina mixed with the original angel- I can’t say I love the scent but do see why ppl like it- if you enjoy the original angel and like sugary scents I think you’d like this one- as for my self i can tolerate the scent enough to finish my samples- i find that this scent is suitable for cold weather and will wear it this winter on days I don’t know what to reach for-

I have only tested a few times so far and will edit any updates of my first impression;)

Pandarapt

Everytime I smell some Angel, this flanker or the other, something oscillating the philosophical is triggered inside my head: What is Angel? It’s dusty but not powdery. Green but not botanical. Ozonic but not acquatic. Gourmand but a high-tech-candy found in the pocket of an alien sort of snack. Earthy but it is head-in-the-clouds. So it goes.

Angel ‘s patch is predictably present this time but someone’s been coaching her in good manners or something and now dusts the soil off her feet before coming in and knows how to engage with the other guests without interrupting yet still holding her own with a spicier, woodier tone redolent of jacaranda wood and oak barrels. Some fancy chat about cranberry pate des fruits dusted in granulated sugar in tin cans and culinary feats of cool custards shelled in caramel brulant follows through.

It all ends in that good-ole Angel punch note of sweet maltol that has the texture between Wonka’s fun dip candy and dusty stardust sprinkling cold blue aluminum foil. Wearing the original feels like living on the tail of a comet, this one its trail.

I have been collecting beautiful perfumes for the last couple of years (ever since I quit smoking). I now have a huge collection that I adore. I didn't use perfume often in the past because I smoked, so what was the point? I wish I had quit much sooner.

Everything that I buy, literally everything, is typically full bottles and blind purchases. I have to blind buy because of where I live. There are no shopping options in the middle of a WV mountain town.

Mugler original cologne is one of my favorites, but I have been mailed multiple testers of the other mugler scents, and I literally could not stand any of them that were some of the best sellers. I stayed away from this brand until today. I just blind bought it (based on reviews on here as usual). I really dig all the notes and the reviews dictate that this is definitely something I would LOVE. I will update once it is received.

What REALLY got me to take the plunge with a big bottle of this were the reviews all over the place about this 2014 version that say it is comparable to Michael Buble By Invitation. I did not have high hopes for the celebrity frag, but I ordered anyway off of MSN based on notes. Shockingly, it is the most beautiful frag EVER. It was so cheap but yet more longevity and sillage than even my most expensive loves. When I saw that a few people indicated this smelled similar to the Buble frag, I could not pass it up. I know this is a review about sucree, but I cannot recommend By Invitation strongly enough. Kind of reminds me of Lovely or Narcisco but even better.

Bloomahyde

I read some reviews that this has a berry or lemony opening but I get more of a basil mint, I swear! Minutes later it's a cloud of perfectly blended gourmand notes. It's a show stopper but also work appropriate. It's a new favorite of mine, especially when it's so cold out! (-1F today)

louiee

Wooow it really opens up like merinque and sour berries.
My man said I smelled like Pick-and-mix candy :)
Frosty and sweet opening with a bottom of patchouli.
Fresh, sparkling and sweet/sour in a well blended way.
Silage and longevity not as amazing as Angel, but that is quite fine for thiis scent.
The Angel dna is in here, but not so demanding.
Very nice for winter time !
Beautiful little frosted bottle.

Jay369

I don't really like the original angel, but this one is so yummy and sugar coated, perfect for winter time

meow78

I don’t get the berries for long, then it’s a lemony vanilla cloud of yumminess. On me, it’s a gourmand reminiscent of Shalimar Souffle (a lemony vanilla powderpuff). I never reached for Souffle because it was so powdery on me. Eau Sucree is very sweet, so light I think it’s a skin scent, but I have that cloud that I’m pretty sure everyone notices. Not musky, no funk like the edp. A strong like so far.

ETA: This is growing on me. If I spray lightly, I get an unidentifiable aura of yumminess, where it becomes part of my smell, rather than a distinct perfume. I find myself reaching for this when I’m hanging around the house.

kiraagold

Opens with a big proud blast of Ocean Spray Cran-Raspberry frozen concentrate, then melts down to a puff of meringue and saucy caramel.

Dregs of vanilla extract sit on the skin, rubbed dry with sweet patchouli dust.

A bit mischievous--Pippi Longstocking with fake eyelashes and a pink sling-shot.

ismellsogood

I'll add my two scents ( get it?) to this bizarre thread
Why not contact Mugler himself? He's on Instagram and he does communicate, he interacted with me. Other than that ladies and gents enjoy the fragrance and keep the peace xoxo

Ps. I own this fragrance and I don't enjoy it it smells sweaty to me. Sweet body sweat I cannot wear it. I think angel edp is amazing and untouchable !!!

Yes, let’s believe a Sephora manager but dispute two emails from the Mugler corporation. Makes total sense. I’m done. Good day.

Germany

Thanks Christi , it rattles me how someone is so arrogant and disputes a whole company and continues to make up her own story .
it’s really hard to believe that she doesn’t understand the differnt sites and posts and perfume descriptions ,even here on fragrantica under 2017 clearly says the fragrance remains the same but rebottled. I don’t know how much more proof one needs but I guess she does. Here in my city it’s also a known fact when you go to purchase it they tell you , as they should have that information at all the counters Muglers are sold.

Bonjour Verena,

Thank you for contacting us!

Our Angel Eau Sucree does have many versions of the limited edition bottles although the beautiful fragrance within remains the same. We do not currently have any plans of the fragrance going away so you can continue to enjoy!

I really don’t like going round and round with people on Fragrantica but it seems Gennie17 follows Germany around disputing anything she says. The thing is, Germany is CORRECT. The scent is not changed, it’s the same, only the bottles change. It says so in the company descriptions. Since apparently that isn’t enough, I contacted them and heard back this morning. Here is the email:

Bonjour Christi,

Thank you for contacting us!

You are correct, there is no difference in scent between the different limited editions of Angel Eau Sucree. The only difference is the color of the bottles.

Well, truth is, there are differences between the versions..I placed a call to Mugler France, I was tired of the back and forth regarding yes or not they are different,,,and I just wanted to find out, once and for all..spoke to Estelle and asked her if the versions were different every year...she wasn't sure, so she said she would check into it and would get back to me...I forgot about it and didn't expect to hear back honestly...turned out she did speak to people close to the nose behind it, and there are variations ....now that should put the discussion to rest.
I always smelled a difference , and I trust my nose., but you never know?.now, the variations are subtle, nonentheless they are not figments of my imagination, or other members who did notice a difference., more patchouli, less patchouli, more meringue, less meringue, it changes the tone of a perfume..
When Alien was reformulated, I could smell it right away too..
Many perfumes get tweaked yet there are no mention of the variations, and those are detected by many..i am thinking of Black opium Wild, supposedly same as edp, well , smells different to lots...just another example,

@ smiler , you can save your money ,all the sucrees are the same. If you like collecting bottles from mugler that’s a differnt storry. However this particular year of bottle is my least favouurte bottle anyways. But rest at peace I asked the Mugler Representatve and she said they are all the same fragrance and the fragrance is now part of the permanent collection due to its popularity.
Personally I like sucree but it is a bit of a generic cupcake smell. Very pleasant and gets you compliments. It’s a little sweet for some days but in general I do love it. My new favouurte is the somewhat fresher fruity fair.
Pm me of you want my bottle !

Sandalwood__

It is giving me faint honey/cotton candy vibes without being too much; essentially, it is very subtle. Thankfully it is eau de toilette, otherwise, it would be like getting your head dunked in a cotton candy machine and wearing it—literally.

Perfect for warm weather, thinking it will do good in the fall. It reminds me of D&G La Roue De La Fortune. I wish I still had some of that one

Smiler

I'm so gutted that I've missed this one because I've got the other Eau Sucree's and I'd love this in my collection.
However, I've been told that they all smell the same, and that there are only tweaks made. Can anyone tell me if this is correct or not, please? I would still buy this, if only for the bottle!

spiderleenie

I like this fragrance; I don't love it. And I think it's because notes of "red berries" just don't do it for me. If you love red berries, you will love this.

I was expecting for this to essentially be a much lighter version of the original Angel, which means that it would smell like a light and fluffy piece of cake (rather than a super dense dark chocolate piece of cake, like in the original Angel). I'd say that this is the "gummy bear" version of the original Angel. It definitely smells sweet, but not in the way I was expecting. I wish that this was more of a light and fluffy vanilla gourmand rather than a sweet explosion of red berries.

What saves this perfume for me, though, is the patchouli, which starts to come to play as the drydown happens. I think it calms the red berries down a little bit and gives them a more powdery and fresh quality, which makes the fragrance more "grown up" and less "teeny bopper."

I find myself enjoying the fragrance most when I've been wearing it for a couple of hours, and the red berries are almost completely faded. The meringue stands out a lot more with the patchouli, creating a very soft, sweet, and powdery version of Angel. When it comes to this point, though, it becomes more of a "skinscent," which means the sillage is almost completely nonexistent. This is the only Mugler perfume I've tried where I honestly think I can spray it on liberally without it smelling too heavy.

I don't think this smells bad at all, but I'm not "wowed" by it either. To me, this is a pretty underwhelming addition to the Thierry Mugler fragrance line. It's not very original or unique. It IS, however, a very pleasant and wearable version of Angel that shouldn't offend anyone's noses.

chillevanille

I usually don't like saccharine patchouli scents but this one literally sparkles, like sweet champagne. It's sexy and more adult, not too girlish like LVEB. It's one of my sweetest gourmands but I love it and keep coming back to it!

Meja.Kast

You know when in the middle of summer you’re suddenly hit with a rapid rainstorm and the aftermath smells a bit chalky? There’s a dusty, powder-sugary quality to this alongside something mentholated and a very realistic red currant. The overall effect is clean, yet novel. It just smells juicy, a little weird, and a bit powdery in a badass way, like wearing vintage garments and sucking on a popsicle in an old library. I even get a hint of Dior Feve Delicieuse. Perhaps it’s the shared component of patchouli, but it leans more toward tonka on the drydown. I keep sniffing my wrist trying to understand it better, but it might be better to leave it be. It’s like someone who’s always sunny and happy but has a steely side to them that entices you to learn more...

cedar_lea

Meringues! I love meringues! How have I not tried this sooner? I'm getting a patchouli and classic Angel smell, but it's like it's wrapped up inside a cloud of meringue cookie. All powdery and sugary and yum! I think I love it.

About an hour in there is a laundry note that I don't mind at all. I like the contrast of clean/sugar/patchouli.

Angel is my first perfume love and every time I smell a new Mugler I'm reminded why I was drawn to his blending style.

I forgot to mention the berry part. The opening has a clear tart berry note. I think the person who said cran-raspberry described it well.

appleorchard

This is just angel with an opening of berry.

Nuitdenoel

I love the original Angel. In fact, I am a proud Angel addict so I wanted to branch out. I blind bought Angel Eau Sucree with zero expectations (as any Mugler fan knows to do). The first spray is super tart red berries. In my mind, I was thinking "well, this is nice, but I already have a few fruity perfumes." I do get a hint of menthol but what I think it actually is, is the tart berries interacting with either skin or with one of the perfume notes.

The berry sorbet phase (closer to actual tart cran/raspberries sprinkled with just the slight bit of sugar) lasts about 20 minutes on my skin. I am slightly re-writing this review because I had applied the original Angel earlier in the day and I think that affected how I viewed Eau Sucree. This sorbet phase lasts longer than I thought but it is actually quite lovely and crisp without falling into the "fresh" category.

I will say this for Thierry Mugler; he has some of the most hyper-realistic notes in modern perfumery for perfumes that are not soliflores.

As the berries break up and the creamy meringue rises to the top, you can clearly smell each distinct phase. This is a blind buy that was 100% successful.

Eau Sucree does become a quasi-gourmand but more true oriental vanilla at the end for me. This perfume starts out on a cool note and gradually progresses to warm. It never gets hot like the original Angel nor is it a patchouli heavy perfume. Again, I love the original in all it's wonderfully gauche glory and I revel in it, but a new take is good, too. This is more of a cousin to the original than a sibling, Like looking for a family resemblance, if you squeeze your eyes up real tight, you can just barely make out some Angel DNA but not enough to be immediately recognized.

While no Mugler fragrance is a "safe" blind buy, if you know you like red, fruity scents, like LPRN Couture, you might want to try Eau Sucree.

EDITED TO ADD: LPRN is more Guerlain in that it has noticeable powdery notes compared to Eau Sucree. Eau Sucree is appropriate for almost any day/time/event. I can't wait to try the 2017 version.

EDIT: Does anyone else get a "creamscicle" sort of vibe in the drydown? Yum!

gugute

This is nice. It is sweet but not sickly, and after it settles it vaguely reminds me of Angel.
I am really unsure why so many reviews mention mint when there is none of it. I was somewhat hoping for some mint, but I do not detect any, at any point. Instead, it opens with tart but sugary berries...imagine a bowl of frozen red berries defrosting, dusted with some icing sugar.
It is pleasant, happy, and while someone said it should be sold in a red star bottle I would say frosty pink would be more suitable, in my opinion.
Longevity and sillage are moderate. Overall a happy buy and great for spring and summer.

bettybee983

The first thing I detect is a gush of almost minty berries. Succulent and addictive, they give way to a creamy, sweet raiment that I could wear all day. Somehow is sweet without being headache inducing. A favorite.

cinnakitty

I was quite attracted by the menthol others describe, it made it sound interesting.

I didn't smell any. What I do smell upon opening the box is redcurrant. Spraying it begets more of the same. The currant is super strong, there's a sweet base and very tiny patchouli. Imagine a very small pavlova heaped with a huge pile of redcurrants and a couple of patchouli leaves to decorate.
Colour and fabric impression is a dark dusky red silk taffeta evening dress worn to a fancy party in a big stately home and that dress rustling as the wearer sneaks into the dark, misty night for a secret rendezvous.

It's Angel, but not. It's a red version. This should have been packaged in a red star instead.

KaelanLovesPerfume

This was a complete blind buy online, and when i received it and immediately sprayed it, i couldn't get to the sink fast enough to wash it off. It smelled like pure menthol. Cough drops and menthol, it was like wearing strong cough syrup. I was disappointed, and set the bottle aside with plans to give it away. After reading the reviews about how gourmand this fragrance was, i decided to give it one more try and do my best to decipher through the overwhelming menthol. I sprayed, and there it was. That dreaded menthol that almost knocked me over the first time.

Again, my first thought was "Kaelan, wash this junk off of you're arm, it's gross." But no, this time i was going to suffer through and try and smell what everyone else was smelling. 5 minutes later, i smelled my wrist and nothing had changed. Another 20 minutes passed, and i sniffed my wrist one more time. It was gone. That menthol was gone and it developed into a beautiful, creamy vanilla-patchouli swirl. I was amazed. How could something that started so terribly, transform into something so beautiful?

It was as if my body was performing magic. The next day, i went out, doused myself in this.. gagged at the initial menthol blast, but this time, it took only about 10 minutes for it to go away and all day long i had folks coming up and asking, "What are you wearing?" I quite enjoy this, although it could never be in my favorites because of that initial blast. It's terrible, but it thankfully transforms into something great. I call this perfume my little caterpillar, it starts out slimy and gross, but turns into something beautiful and amazing.

Madrona

This one surprised me.

It started off with a blast of eucalyptus lozenge that took about two hours to dissipate. Then came sour red berries, something like redcurrant fresh off the bush, and eventually, after two more hours had passed, this fluffy gourmand was left. The last stage reminded me a lot of some perfume I couldn't place but I know that I love, so I kept sniffing it as I let my eyes wander over my "love" list... my gaze stopped at Kenzo Flower L'Elixir and Lancome Tresor Lumineuse, two fragrances that are very similar, and I knew instantly that those were the ones I was reminded of.

They say you either love or hate the original Angel, I felt very alone in thinking that it was "only" okay when I first smelled it but it has really grown on me. Angel Eau Sucree is decidedly different, and I already have Kenzo Flower L'Elixir in my collection, so I think I'll stick to my mini of the original.

kitsunemagic

Love this!!! A combination of cotton candy, berries, lemon meringue pie and patchouli, one of Angel's soft-spoken and shy family members

freddinos

I am one of those people who have worn Angel from the time it debuted, I remember loving it from the first time I smelled it, until a reformulation made it smell so masculine and sharp... And I have never worn it again...
I have now found another Angel I like; Angel Eau Sucree is pretty and sharp, I like it enough to own it, but it hasn't brought me to my knees as the original did back in its day.
Eau Sucree is tangy and sugary dirty patchouli, it smells like those sour jelly candies taste (tangfastic anyone?). Not as potent as the original, but I think I prefer the edt or Innocent any day over this.
I can see Eau Sucree appeal to a wider audience than Angel, it seems companies are trying to create flankers to suit all tastes!

karrieann

Guilty Pleasure!

I almost feel that this flanker is too young for me. Soooo sweet that it nearly borders on the ridiculous. And yet, I find myself craving it and wishing I would have bought 2 bottles.

Sucree 2014 is bold, dare I say, even more so than Angel herself. Today's Angel has been tamed from her original self yet Sucree seems to have taken her inspiration from circa 1992 Angel.

Bright, sweet berries and sticky vanilla cream. A monstrous dose of patchouli.

There is also something fizzy and effervescent. Happy and uplifting. Tangy and bubbly. I wonder if it's this trick that makes Sucree acceptable to those who don't like Angel. I happen to adore Angel but there really is something special and unique about Sucree 2014.

amywamywoo

I'm getting the teeny tiniest slither of the original Angel here, it's not around too long though before the tart berries hit you. Add some creamy vanilla to the mix with a big blob of icing sugar to finish. Yum!
This lasts all day on me, and the bottle is lovely.

theangryraisins

Smells absolutely delicious and has a great presence. I became very nearly intoxicated when I first smelled it and practically forced my wonderfully scented forearm upon the people who were around me at the time. It has great staying power like a true Angel fragrance. The bottle is gorgeous and looks great on my dresser.

Ivilee

Delightful, Sweet and Fruity like a delicious berry dessert. Its smells like candied berries!! I absolutely love this Angel 2014 flanker. Its longevity is amazing! The compliments are impressive.

Irishchick

So to me, Eau Sucree is almost straight up vanilla. A buttery, creamy delicious vanilla, don't get me wrong. Like a creme brule, frosted with sugar.

There is a tart yet sweet berry scent at the beginning which lightens the whole fragrance, although it doesn't seem to last that long.

It does smell like christmas, a child's christmas, the smell of sweets and new toy packaging.

However the vanilla in it very much reminds me of Britney Spears fantasy. Both smell good, there's no doubt a smell like a freshly powdered cake! However I just don't seem to be able to get wild for vanilla scents, they are perfectly good, great even, but I just can't get too excited about them.

I still have the guts of my sample left so I shall continue to endeavour with this scent, to see if my opinion changes :)

Also Note: Worth mentioning that as soon as i spritzed two little sprays behind my ears i started to sneeze, generally a sign of a strong fragrance on me.

jan17

Love that smell too, man! sweet with the angel remembrance, meringue note is to give water in the mouth! Sugar explosion on the skin but is very sexy and cozy. Impossible not to love! Fixed fine and delicious trail in the air! I want to have the 2015 edition !!!

Joeri

I like this so much on the wife. I like her without it, but this juice is the cherry on the pie.

Lipglossjunkee

Mmmm this one is a lovely dessert, but as with the original Angel there CAN be TOO MUCH of a good thing. Go easy on this one as it's so sweet it can be cloying if too much is sprayed!

On me I get the sweet vanilla meringue as the main accord throughout, almost a hint of lemony but I think that's the tartness of the red berry coming through. This is ALL sweet vanilla for the most part. The patch is very faint, almost nonexistent and just adds a fullness to the drydown. It is really only a faint cousin of the original Angel and non-Angel lovers could find this one works quite well on them!

I don't know how it compares to the 2015 version as I've not sniffed them side by side, but this one is a sure winner if you like gourmand scents. 1-2 sprays lasts 6 hours easily with great sillage. Plus, the box and bottle are adorable.

If I had smelt this blind, I would have had no idea of its link with 'Angel'- it is that much of a departure from the original and doesn't include the trademark "Angelness" (that accord of coumarin, patchouli, lily-of-the-valley, and musk) found in the original and many of the other flankers. That being said, this is a glorious composition if you're into the "pink gourmands"- because that's what "color" this evokes for me: juicy red berries and vanilla'd cream confection over a base dominated by sensual musk. I sense only delicate touches of patchouli, oud, and amber. So divine! I would have slated this as a winter daytime scent (like Viva La Juicy, Vince Camuto, Cashmere Mist), but honestly I'm wearing it now in summer and am enjoying the heaviness despite- it's really lovely! Definitely grab a bottle if you see one.

aSmileiswild

Hmmmm.... It reminds me of raspberry soda. I gets hints of vanilla but so far this is all I'm getting from this scent.

leighsie

I really love this and wanted it, but the type of smell reminds me of hanae mori, just a lot better. Sweet without being musky/ heavy. I have a bottle of hanae mori and rarely wear it because of how strong it is

Nikkafragrance

It really smells like herbs. I don't find it unpleasant, just weird and definitely not sexy. It's fresh and a good choice for hot days though. The sillage and longevity are not impressive.

QueenxBri

This actually smells ABSOLUTELY disgusting to me it smells like straight up herbs. I couldn't smell any of the notes listed besides patchouli. I wanted to test it because my friend said she owns it and she likes it so i was curious to see how it smells. My boyfriend even smelt me right after i sprayed it and said it smelled terrible :( My mother is also not a fan. If you like nice and sweet smelling perfumes, this isn't for you.

LisaMari

It's very sugary and more like blue berries than red to me.. I think maybe that's the patchouli, I just see it as a 'blue' scent. I also detect a hint of violet even though that's not listed here.

TrailerTrashPrincess

i've got the 2014 version on one arm and the 2015 version on the other. while not identical, they're close enough.

one's a little creamier and the other's more berry.

but both are too raspberry-bitter for me. all berries, all the time. no thanks, i'll stick with regular Angel!

RedFloyd

This is the perfect fragrance to spray on your pillows and sheets before going to bed. It’s at the same time clean, fresh, sugary, creamy and delicious! It’s like sleeping with the angels!
Sweet dreams!

This perfume has been flirting with me since it's release in 2014. Every time I went to the mall, I would stop by the perfume counter and spray this on. Initially, I thought the perfume was simple for Thierry Mugler, but never boring. Over a year has passed and I'm so thankful to find the 2014 flanker at my local Sephora. A bit pricey but for a Limited Edition and being a Mugler fan, I thought why not make the splurge?

Angel Eau Sucree 2014 flanker is a simple yet beautiful gourmand perfume. Sweet Frosted Berries soaked in Cream w/ a soft minty Patchouli/Vanilla drydown. Don't let the EDT fool you, this lasted well over 15hrs on me :) It's really versatile, can't imagine offending anyone with this perfume. The original Angel was something to admire but I could never wear it due to the strong Patchouli note. Eau Sucree is just the right amount of Angel for me :) It's a dessert lover's dream~

Magdalena23, you are SOOOO GENEROUS!!! My darling friend, I love you! I just had to get that out of the way ;-) Just now, the courier delivered the most amazing gift box, all the way from beautiful Greece. Samples, beautiful smellies, photos of a blonde beauty in the sun on the bluest oceans, chocolates, pistachio nuts and treats, all things good and beautiful....just like this perfume. At first blast, I smell mint, which isn't listed, then a waft of Angel (the original formula), followed by a sugary sweet blast, light meringue, absolutely perfect, a light and delicious treat to wear. Summery sugar beauty, that's what this is to me!

LuScentinTenebris

I probably shouldn't like this because I'm not a particular fan of gourmands, warm fragrances, or "fruitchoulis," but this opens with a zesty freshness from the tart berries and patchouli, lending it a raspberry-lemon zest that isn't overly sharp, as the meringue note soon smooths it out. The dry-down, while gourmand and sweet, is transparent enough to remain fresh and airy so it never feels suffocating, and the intitial tartness lingers on clothes better than on skin. This is much more wearable to me than the original Angel- if Angel is the cigarette-smoking teen in acid-wash jeggings and metallic eyeshadow, this is her clean-cut cousin who looks sweet on the outside but is capable of zinging you with a sarcastic one-liner--all in good fun, of course, all in good fun.
UPDATE:
When I first tried this I was pretty new to gourmands and I couldn't understand why anyone liked the original Angel. Eventually, though, I discovered the magic of the original, and fell out of love with this one. The patchouli in this is scratchier and more sour than I thought at first- did I just not notice it then, or did the scent macerate or something? I really get what people who say this has a sour, herbal, medicinal edge are talking about now. The patch in the original, while undeniably strong, is not raspy like that. It's also somehow heavier (but definitely not stronger, sillage-wise) than the bright, juicy, icy topnotes of the original- I don't really see this being wearable in hot weather. It's still good and I wear it from time to time, but my love of the real thing took some of the shine off this one.

mvd99

Angel was my signature for many years until one day it started to repulse me and I haven't been able to wear it since. Lately I started looking at other versions of Angel to see if I could find what I used to love. I swore Angel Sucree would be a love. The opening was berries and sharp guayabas (guava) to me. Maybe meringue smells like guayabas. No, I know they don't, I just couldn't believe I didn't smell meringue. Either way, that opening made Sucree an instant dislike for me. The dry down was straight up buttery vanilla, which was nice but with poor projection. It was nothing like its big sister in sillage and longevity. The dry-down smelled very much like Outremer's Vanilla which at $22 for 3.4 oz is a longevity and sillage beast.

rockegg

People who can't find it: I just saw it at Sephora.

foxy_princess

i never got the chance to buy this, im deeply upset, how do we get TM to bring this back! its so heavenly and juicy!

bunny deluxe

I’m in love with you, heavenly blue angel, I’m addicted to you!
I first sprayed it last summer, since I can’t get it out of my head, and I was sooo happy, when I got it for Christmas.

It’s an amazing composition: rich, creamy, gourmand scent, great balance between the meringue and berries, a bit sour, tart because of the fruity note and sweet at the same time.
The drydown is also very nice, there is the original angel scent in it, the sweet-fruity notes blended with patchouli. I think patchouli is the angel’s typical trademark, I can detect and recognize with eyes closed!:)

In my opinion Sucrée is one of the best angel flankers, not just a simple sweet scent, like Si or Manifesto or etc.
They are matching the current trend, one-sided sweet, linear perfumes, nothing exciting for me.
But this sparkling star is different, beautifully structured and individual fragrance.
The bottle is very nice, like a dipped in sugar gem. I wish it wasn’t just a limited edition, I need this treasure forever!

sarahwspain

Mmmmmm... I am in LOVE! This has to be the most delicious gourmand I have ever tried. So glad I got to buy this, since it's a limited edition (why, oh WHY?).

This is a REALLY sweet creamy scent. It reminds me a lot of Lancome's "La Vie Est Belle": they are both deliciously sweet and quite heavy, however there's a difference here.

First of all, this one has the creamy meringue and the sweet vanilla, but it also has a juicy side from the red berries that "La Vie Est Belle" doesn't have (that one is all about the praliné to me), so there's a twist in this version of "Angel" that makes it both creamy and juicy at the same time. The fragance stays pretty linear, so it's not like the original "Angel" that, at least on my skin, changes quite a lot from the opening to the drydown, but boy, what a delicious linear scent this one is.

I must say, this one doesn't smell very similar to the original "Angel", but there's something in it that tells you this is a Mugler, and I really think it's the patchouli. The patchouli base gives more power to this fragance, but it's not as earthy as the one in the original "Angel". It lasts a really long time on my skin and it projects well for a few hours, then it calms down and it stays close to the skin. Don't expect the monster sillage that the original has!

What can I say? Just find this baby and BUY IT! If you want to smell like something someone would like to eat you won't regret it. Yummy!

x-x-x-ANGEL-x-x-x

I'm not a fragrance connoisseur, so I don't really notice the ingredients to a fragrance. Which I kind of am jealous of as I wish I could pin point each little moment of deliciousness.

But after hunting for a while to track down Eau Sucree, I managed to get my hands on a bottle and am in love. It's so tangy and sweet. As an Angel lover, this is possibly my favourite Angel after the original of course.

The bottle with it's pearlescent sheen and "sugar" trim looks good enough to eat.

EDIT: after wearing Eau Sucree I little more, I can finally notice the changes in notes, from the frosted berries to caramelised meringue. Boy she is a beauty.

On a side note, don't wear this if you are on a diet, this little minx of a scent will leave you craving dessert the whole day.

kmdrcla

This is a really fun, cute scent. Beautifully balanced, wearable fruity gourmand. This fragrance is kind of everything that I wanted the Viva La Juicy perfumes to be on me. Invigorating at first with the bright red berries, followed shortly thereafter by a yummy vanilla-esque note(s) that together make something sort of like a fruity lemon meringue on me. I just love it. I can smell it hours later, after the berries have been sort of "hushed" a bit and it settles into a lovely warm truly edible-smelling fragrance without being too heavy, or foody for that matter. It's a favorite of my boyfriend, who cutely remarks that I smell like "candy and cakes" every time I wear it. Definitely would recommend.

foxy_princess

Im so honoured that i was the first to review the smell of this fragrance. Its so yummy, berries soo intense and juicy. I have the urge to bite chunks out of myself. Meringue and vanilla backdrop to smooth out the zingy berries and a touch of patchouli for that oomph. I honestly hope this becomes a permanent flanker or is at least around for a little while so everyone can stock up. P.s it smells very similar to la vie est belle but la vie est belle is much heavier

Lust87

Red currant sherbet with a few mint leafs in the opening - tasty, juicy, but also a bit sour and refreshing.
Sweet, delicious, high quality meringue in the heart (a paradise for meringue fans).
Soft, green, aromatic patchouli perfectly blended with creamy vanilla in the base.
That's Angel Eau Sucree. Sweet, incomplicated, but lovely and charming. Always makes me feel better (and hungry, that's the only one side effect, i don't detect any headache or nausea).
Good longevity - about 7/8 hours and decent sillage.
This one is a must try for gourmand lovers and Angel collectors.
Well done Mugler, such a pity it's just a limited edition.

ecerusen

dont be strict, flankers dont always have to be similar with the original stuff :)

thierry mugler fumes never fails me, they always have a must-buy stuff in it. this one looks familiar and similar with the other juicy fumes but no, it has a rich side :) just test it and you will understand what i'm talking about. on me it smells very berry and soury side is more obvious than the sugary side.

i want to talk about its longevity because every nose are different to detect notes so longevity/sillage is more important at that time.

at first i hesitate because it is edt and my skin is a perfume eater so even most of edp disappear quickly. but this one, still shows its soury side on me(after 20 hours). its not a "hello i'm here" fume i think but sillage is moderate(maybe it will increase at spring).

i dont know why but i get a little wildness from this smell. like a silent girl but she still gets attention from all of the boys.

so on me,

longevity: 8/10(consider its edt form)
sillage: 6.5/10
smell(for me) : 7/10

jedrzejowskia

The first spray is soooo tasty, the berries so zingy :-)
Still WAAAAAAAY too much patchouli for my nose, still pretty much the main note here when I put my nose to my skin.

But I like it. Because: it's not superstrong as a perfume and it wafts around with the red berries and meringue when I don't smell it up close.
I will wear for those days when no one needs to nuzzle me.
Perfectly work appropriate in my opinion.

There really is not much more that can be added in this review as I pretty much agree that's it's a pretty and luscious little gourmand treat for those days when you need a bit of a sweet pick-me up.

I get a little bit LVeB, but not enough to add the "reminds me of" above. I would still purchase LVeB if it wasn't my mums signature :-)
Good job Thierry Mugler, finally an Angel that I can wear with no problem. (apart from Eau de Star, which in my opinion is not an Angel flanker).
The bottle is absolutely stunning. And heavy as a brick. It's opaque so can be displayed! Yay!
One lucky blind buy!
Edited to add: Layer this with Meow :-) Sis-tip for gourmies.

Lucid Dreamer

This perfume is absolutely AMAZING. I have never in my life purchased a new fragrance so quickly after trying it. I have been wearing Angel for about 15 years now so I always try the limited editions. I fell in love with this one immediately and purchased within ten minutes. No regrets! In fact, a few days later I went and bought a second bottle! It is quite similar to Flowerbomb. However, it is a LOT more complex and sophisticated than Flowerbomb. I don't usually like sugary-sweet perfumes, but this has a sensual element and is a delicious mixture of flowers, cotton candy, caramel, berries, and patchouli. Angel Eau Sucrée is like a softer, more playful and flirtatious version of Angel. It has outstanding longevity too. One spray lasts 24 hours+ on my skin. I adore the baby-blue sugar-coated bottle. However, I wish the glass was more transparent as I have to hold it up to strong light to see how much fragrance is left. Anyway, words can't describe how in love with this fragrance I am - especially those beautiful berries! Just WISH it wasn't a limited edition :-(

little elf

This one is not bad, but it has nothing to do with the original. On my skin, it smells very similar to La Vie Est Belle. Sweet, but not *too* sweet, even for me, and a compliment getter. Also, it's not boring, though this type of scent is a little common these days. But it's not a wallflower. Good sillage, longevity is alright (about 5-6 hours on my skin but stuff tends to last and last on me so that's nothing special). Definitely a safe buy in my opinion, it's hard to go wrong with this unless you HATE sweet scents, period. Stuff like Pink Sugar makes me gag but this I like. The thing is, LVEB is a bit richer and smoother, and cheaper. So I'd probably buy that one instead. But this one has a way cool bottle so I'm kinda torn :(

EDIT: The more I wear my sample, the more I love it. It's my favorite of the sweet-patchouli fragrances. A full bottle is definitely in order :)

poivrerose

I really like this version of Angel. It is really.... warm. Warm and sweet. And, yes, you do still get hints of the signature Angel patchouli. At first the red berries are a bit pungent, but after they fade you get a very nice sweet warm patchouli/vanilla combo. Very simplistic. It actually reminds me of one of my favorites - Pink Sugar Sparks. It shares the same warm toffee-like sweet quality. It is a quality fragrance when it comes to sillage and lasting power. Just what you would expect. Great chilly fall scent!

Aysu

Wow! this is magical.. I have never guessed that I would like this so much.
Patchouli is subdued, not a typical Angel, quite sweet but not one of those today's chocking gourmands. Some freshness keeps it balanced. Staying power is good and quality is high, it is a Thierry Mugler at the end. Even with berries and meringue notes, he can create a fragrance which can be worn at every age..

Killercolours

An Eau de Toilette packed with caramelized meringue, LET'S GO I thought! But what is it like on the skin? Not much of the Angel DNA is found in this bottle to be honest. A roaring wave of caramelized white sugar similar to spun sugar washes over the skin, supported by a soft patchouli and topped with fresh acidic red currant and something similar to rhubarb. How does this constellation feel? Freakishly similar to all the trendy “fruiutchoulis” that popped up during the last 10 years. Flowerbomb, La Vie est Belle, Jimmy Choo, you get it. To be a bit mean it is horribly close to Aquolina Pink Sugar Sparks, it has the same sparkling over sweetened screech that makes your teeth vibrate. WHATEVER, the bf thinks that I smell lovely and I have kind of a love/hate thing going on with Flowerbomb so Angel Eau Sucrée stays. Even though it’s barking up the wrong tree x10. DON’T LOSE THE DIRTY PATCH, MUGLER!

polka

The opening of Angel Sucree made a big effort to make me like it. It surprised me with certain resemblance to Innocent, and with lovely, juicy, fresh, tart notes of fruits and... tomato leaves (I could swear I smell them there). All that in a very light cloud of sweetness. Pretty nice, and pretty surprising, as I was expecting a sweet hit between the eyes.

Unfortunately, as time passed by, Sucree started to remind me of its older, ugly brother. The fruits have vanished and the light cloud turned into a meringue. I wouldn't mind meringue (who would, after all?), if it didn't drag the livid blue wafts of "muglerish" patchouli behind it. They took all the juiciness away, brutally reminding me of Sucree's kinship with the terpentine monster (original Angel). Of course Sucree does not smell exactly the same as Angel, but it definitely brings some obvious connotations.

The only consolation (?) is that the patchouli cloud disappeared rather quickly, as Angel Sucree has really poor longevity.

Germany

I am so glad I got two bottles while they were available. I really love this one. Too bad it's not here to stay. I prefer this to the original at the moment but hoping when winter comes I will love the EDP again. This is so yummy and fresh, sweet ~fresh! Like a "berry meringue "! With whipped cream on top. I get constant compliments on this. From young and old , and my girlfriend keeps asking me if she could have my second bottle.
I prefer this flanker to the aqua chic in the previous year.

charlottesmom

I misplaced my original sample of Angel Sucree so I asked for another while at Sephora today. Sprayed it on when I got home and lo and behold it smells almost exactly like Flowerbomb on me! That is actually very good news as I hate falling in love with limited additions, they always vanish way too quickly!

larita91

Sugary-creamy-vanille scent. A strong sweet gourmand, with good sillage and longetivity, however to me, this is a little bit too much.
Not like the original Angel, so if you don't like that, take a chance with this one. Actually it reminds me of Aquolina Gold Sugar or La vie est belle. Not so unique scent anyway.

Arlene-Beatrix

Sugar, sugar, sugar. I really like it, but I wonder if I could smell like a cake. I think that in my teens I would love this scent. However, my taste has changed over the years and now I prefer sweetness that is not so obvious.

Jenge

I already reviewed Eau Sucree, but I had to come back to say that this became a craving to me! Every time I had a chance to sample it I did. One time a SA made me a sample using a tiny screw lid jar. Needless to say, it leaked all over my purse, but my purse smelled SO GOOD! I knew I had to have it.

In my first review, I thought the berries were too medicinal & strong. I don't know why, but I don't think so anymore. Yes, there is a slight "mentholness" there, but now I feel that it keeps things fresh & not too syrupy.

I still love that crunchy sugared meringue, and I also get a tiny tiny whiff of Baby Magic baby lotion now and then. Just yummy.

I am happy to have a full bottle now of this limited edition treat!

Medi

Now it´s mine. Hard to get a hold on in Sweden because it is not out in store yet if it ever will? Anyway, I am surprised that it is not all that sugar sweet. Scent reminiscent of Elle, YSL and I guess that's the red berries combined patshouli. Quite strong and more of an evening out scent. Over all I like it!

moonprismpower

i love this! this is the first new fruity fragrance that impressed me right away. to me, it smells just like a bomb pop right out of the bottle and on a test strip, the patriotic 4th of july popsicles they sell in america during the summer. very tart and sweet berry, really smells like a popsicle! i love it! later it gets creamy fruity vanilla meringue and it remains perfect. this is fruity i can handle. this is an awesome summer scent if you are bored by all the light fruity floral shampoo fragrances.

djuzz.becuzz

Finally I got to try Angel eau Sucree, thanks to ever so generous and lovely Lily2911 :)
I'm glad to say that this might actually be the first, and probably also the one and only Angel flanker I would be able to wear!
The first spritz had me go ''ut-oh!!'' for a brief moment,... since it is kinda heavy on the (earthy) patchouli that makes the original Angel unbearable for me to wear. But give it a few seconds and there comes juicy red berries out to play, quickly accompanied by something sweet which doesn't really smell like vanilla to me so I guess that must be some creamy meringue. It actually started to smell quite nice,... now if only that patchouli would tone down even more, now that would be perfect... and luckily it does! Give it about 20 minutes and it will turn into a yummy sweet & creamy yet still juicy concoction which also to me smells reminiscent of Lancome's La Vie Est Belle!!
I already have LVEB, so I think that even this time I will still not add any Angel to my wardrobe.

jonr951

FINALLY smelled Sucree and wowza, I'm very impressed and happy with this Angel flanker! It's a BIG weirdo when I first spray it on! I smell a STRONG mint/something toothpaste-y note, and it kinda scared me at first. Haha! But then it dries down to warm sweet goodness. I LOVE it, and I think it will be great fun for the holiday season. I'm excited to own a bottle. And what a fun bottle at that. So pretty! Oh, and I have to say, it kicks the summer Angel flankers butts, that's for sure. Haha! ^_^

butterflyblue

I really like this. My signature is La Vie est Belle this to me is more sugary vanilla. I really love it. Its lasts most of the day on me too.

Cams

Ok, so this is the thing - not a bad fragrance and likely welcomed by haters of the original Angel (which is fine). But for Angel lovers like myself I'm not getting enough whispered references to the original (other than the bottle) to make it worthwhile. Its very well made.

guachipiruli

Eau sucrée… I love it. Soft vanilla cotton candy. It is indeed pricey if we think about the stuff that is in its composition: probably 30% ethyl maltol? but then that´s like the epitome of gourmand… Anyhow, it is like going to the candy store: it ain´t healthy but it is sooo good. I´ll buy it if i find it 50% off or something…

mister_chaz

Angel Sucree is a surprisingly pleasant scent: creamy meringue and tart berries, with the right amount of patchouli to spice it up. There's no drama associated with the original Angel, Sucree is more versatile and discreet, yet very long-lasting, just like all the Muglers. Generally, I find some TM perfumes to be heavy and suffocating, but not this one - Sucree is a delight!

kimberlylizkennedy

Why I like it. I hate the original Angel. To me it smells sweaty, not sweat. But like stinky underarm sweaty. This was a surprise to me. It is a slightly powdery sweat (like edible) scent. It could be too sweat for some. But if lightly misted, I think it could be combined with an other scent and become a layered mysterious combination. This is the only Angel I would ever consider buying. I am not getting the Patchouli. It stays sort of sillage of hazy, foggy meringue on my body.

dsty

Cut and paste from what I wrote about this in the "what did you try"-thread of the forum, just as a reminder to myself of why I didn't like this much anticipated scent...

Disappointing! I was so curious about this, it sounded delicious. I was even considering a blind buy, and I'm so glad I didn't go through with that. I don't know if it's my skin chemistry but the top is horrible on me, actually nauseating. Not only much too sweet (and that's saying something for me), but there's a disturbing element in it that I can't put my finger on but that's really off-putting. After a while that elements fades and it gets better, but still not amazing. What is amazing, though, is the longevity; I can smell the generic, pleasantly sweet drydown on my hand even now (and yes, I've washed my hands several times since spraying it on)

astrofluff

I'm still not sure about the opening of this. I'm not usually a "fruity" person, so that may be where I'm getting thrown off. I kept smelling something familiar and it took me a while to place it - on me, the opening smells exactly like Philosophy's Squishy Red Fish Shower Gel. (Swedish Fish) I do like the dry down, though. I'll have to give my sample a few more tries.

flowers-in-the-springtime

Well that house of Mugler has done it again!!
I swear that if Thierry Mugler were to make a perfume with camel dung as the main note, it would smell heavenly!
How do they do it and always get it right?
I am a die hard Angel devotee and this perfume is Angel with sweet and sugary cupcakes! Sounds horrible? Smells divine!
The first spray left me thinking that this could this be the first TM perfume that I don't actually love? It smells very strange at first but then evolves into a delicious sweetness, there are shades of Angel but it's lighter, not quite as intense.
This is much more playful, light hearted, young and utterly delectable! It has the usual TM silage and longevity, (mega longevity) but the finish on this is unmistakably Angel!
Beautiful and dramatic at the same time! Well done Mugler! 10/10

gooberskitty21

The first time I tested this on a paper strip all I got was light, tangy sweat, and I totally wrote it off as being one of the only angel summer flankers that was an instant-yuck. I was in a 'eh, fuck it' mood yesterday so after work I decided to stop at Macy's and give it another chance, this time on my skin and I'm so glad I did! What difference from paper to flesh, it was almost unrecognizable. I'm not a huge meringue pie, or meringue anything fan so I can't really say "oh yes, merengue!" or whatever, but the first blast is very sugary, but not cheap juvenile sugar, youthful yes but tacky sweetness most definitely not. More like maybe a gourmet rock candy sugar from a swanky little mom and pop cafe or something... fancy, indulgent but not sticky or gooey. I personally get no La Vie Est Belle granulated sugar bomb vibe from this. The tangy red berry note probably keeps the sweetness from getting out of control. Then comes the slight sweatiness again, but it's light and actually compliments the rock sugar and tangy berries and adds complexity. This is by no means a mind blowingly intense, femme fatale fragrance and it makes no claims to be. It's sweet, youthful, airy, with just a pinch of dirty and well blended. This is ALL Thierry Mugler to me. Complicated, but not too serious, happy, but in no way ditzy. Somewhat comparable to innocent, but innocent has a bit more of that sweatiness, I find. Oh, and none of the usual citrus/aqua notes you'd expect for any summer fragrance. I really like this flanker and I'm so glad I decided to give it another shot. Just goes to show, you seriously can't know a frag until you've tested on your skin. You just can't.

beep_beep

Diehard fan of the original Angel, i bought Eau Sucrée without ever smelling it... Big mistake! This fragrance is a huge disappointment, I just don't recognize my beloved Angel at all! Take La Vie Est Belle, replace the black current and the pear notes with red berries and you will get Eau Sucrée. I have no affinities whatsoever for sugary scents such as La Vie Est Belle or Flowerbomb so needless to say that I truly hate this Eau Sucrée, yuk.

missgeschick

I was attracted by the nice bottle, the fact it's limited edition and by the idea of a fresher Angel. So glad I bought only a 10 ml filling of this. It's hard for me to get through the cloying headnote which is an overdose of meringue with the sweet taste of vanilla that explodes when spraying on my wrist and neck. No red berries for me on the top. The more I wear it the more it calms down and is bearable... meringue is fading and the red berries give a fine compensation between sour and sweet. After one hour I really enjoy the scent and its very good longevity. Also I think this has pretty good projection for a summer scent. But I wished the designer had given it a little more freshness instead of overwhelming sweetness.

StopHammertime

Yeahhhh this is a must-purchase for me. I have always liked Angel but found it challenging to wear. I had a mini that I kept tucked away, whenever I wanted to give it a sniff. I have tried many different renditions and each of them have been good but not wearable for me. Until now.

This is just gorgeous. It starts off with a very synthetic but at the same time very true red berries scent, if that makes any sense. I can smell white sugar sitting in the background. After about 30-45 minutes I start getting this beautiful meringue. At some point the meringue and the berries merge and it just smells like some kind of decadent dessert. I can kind of see this as an Angel flanker, I do get just a little bit of the patchouli that it's so famous for, but in the end it reminds me more of Innocent [which I guess is a spin off of Angel? I don't know]. If you had problems wearing Angel but still kind of liked it, you need to try this. If you hated Angel, you should try this. If you love Angel, you should try this [although I would venture to say you will probably be the most disappointed out of those 3 groups LOL].

The infamous Mugler sillage and lasting power is not really there, however. It does last a good 4-6 hours, and the sillage is pretty decent when all is said and done, maybe 1-3 feet of projection. I find this impressive by itself but not quite up to par for TM ;). Might end up buying 2 bottles since this is LE.

susieqrj

Red berries? Really? It smells so weird, I could swear it was passion fruit because it was so sour, if compared with Angel (I tried both at the same time on different paper stripes).

Lucie009

This is a masterpiece, alluring, very sexy and smooth. I love it.

Aeris

I'm heartbroken that this beautiful fragrance will soon be gone forever. Stores are running out of their final shipment as we speak. I emailed Mugler Customer Service and begged them to make this a permanent addition to their line (hey it's worth a shot lol). They responded saying that "If the demand for a particular limited edition item is high enough, we may decide to bring it back." Some people have left comments on their official site making the same request as I have. And it seems to be selling out fast everywhere. This is a good sign! Come on people, join me in letting Mugler know that we want this to stay! Email them to tell them to keep this and buy another bottle of Sucree! Some of their previous Limited Edition fragrances have stuck around for a long time due to popular demand....such as the Alien Essence Absolue. Let's hope Sucree is the same way. It's rare for me to buy a full bottle of anything these days since I have soooo many perfumes, so I usually do minis and decants. But I bought a full bottle of Sucree and am about to order backups!

jovejove

If you want this fragrance, go get it now, because stores are beginning to sell out.

Once they're gone...they're gone! So when the sales associate tells you they're sold out, don't keep asking the question if they have any or if they're getting more in; it's a limited edition, which means limited quantities/one time shot. Only thing I can suggest to people is that they get on the Mugler client files in order to be aware of the newness that comes out in the future.

I had 2 Nordstroms notes clutched in my hand, eagerly entering the store anticipating the thought of some sophisticated perfume that would change my world. What I ended up with was this little beauty.
My friend who works at Nordy's talked me into trying it along with my other choices and I kept going back to the Sucre. It was bright, sparkling and fun, just like the star it embodies.

Germany

Ok this is nice !!! I bought it on the spot! There are moments I actually dislike the original angel but this one is hard to dislike, it's just so lovely , its sweet but fresh its fruity and oriental. You can smell the individual notes , red berries , caramelized meringue , patchouli and vanilla.

I wish they keep these flankers , sad to see it go.
I may have to get a second bottle while its available.
It has a similarity to the EDT , and it does have that same slight masculine sweat odor as well , but in a good way !

BenBnBe

OMG!This is soooo beautiful,i love love love love it,its sooo good, very good!
Very yummi, sweet, and so enchanting! At first it was realy sweet and fruity, but than...............Oh my Goooood!
In this the patchouli is not strong, and the red berries make with the caramelized meringue cream such a gorgeous fragrance!I loooove it,a want this,i love love it,and the bottle is soo pretty, love iiit!!

I have to share this with all of you! I simply have to!

Well, yesterday I was at a perfume store for a purchase, when a beautiful and polite sales-lady approached me,to sample this one on my skin.I have to admit,I am really terrified of Angel !!! Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with Angel,I even like it occasionally on certain people. It's patchouli I am scared of ! When it touches my skin,it turns into an ugly,blood-thirsty monster, ready to attack and suck the life out of me,and everyone around me!Seeing me back and flinch in terror, like a vampire at the sight of Holly Water, the sales lady smiled and said "I know you are scared honey, but this one is different.Just trust me..."

Well,I trusted her.Shaking and trembling I let her spray a little on my wrist,and...OMG, this one IS different! This one is an angel indeed!!! Patchouli is polite, subtle and kind-hearted,almost undetectable, and the meringue note is amazing! It literally shines on my skin,so realistic, unbelievable!I don't get a lot of red berries, but I don't care! My meringues are more than enough!Pure bliss!!! Amazing staying power, the sillage is just perfect, this perfume on me is the perfect 10! Don't be afraid of this angel, people! This one is a sweet angel from heaven...

P.S. Needless to say,I returned today and purchased it... Lovely packaging,by the way! I love everything about it !

małgorzata.kupiec

I hate normal Angel, I hardly stand Liquor or Taste of Fragrance version, but this one is an instant love. Sweet, creamy, fruity, divine. In warmer days welcomes me with splash of red berries, which evolves into something I call "forest scent" ( if you know Airwaves Cassis chewing gum - that's what I'm thinking of ).

Long-lasting, fluffy like Flowerbombs and equally sweet, not overpowering, lovely.

Hardly ever would I buy perfumes right after premiere but this one was a must.

rue_de_la_roux

Alright I'm on the bandwagon, I got a bottle! OMG, I just adore this, so much so that I've been spraying it on a couple of times a day. I'd better take a couple of days off or I'll get burnt out on it. It isn't very often that I find a perfume that knocks my socks off, but here is one.

Every time I put it on I discover new things about it: zingy citruses, sparkling lemonade, cotton candy, medicinal cherries, gourmet cherries, burnt sugar, sugar clouds, vanilla milkshakes, anisette, zero chocolate, very light patchouli.

charlottesmom

Tried this today at Sephora on a whim, on me is smells like a mix of Angel Innocent and Pink Sugar, though not as sweet, I like but not love it. Got a sample and will use it but may never invest in a bottle. The sillage is great, I get whiffs constantly but am not lost in a cloud of it.

I actually think my favorite part of this Angel flanker is the patchouli being very tame (on me), I LOVE Angel but the patchouli on me can be overwhelming. I do wish the vanilla was stronger on me, if it was, this would be perfect!

Longevity is good thusfar, going on 4 hours and still nice and strong. I give it a 7/10 very nice, but not perfect.

anna.kalinova.98

Sooo sexy .. No more words !

almarie

Ok, so I lied... I ended up buying this today because I actually do like it after all. I still don't like the initial spray, it still has a strange note that I don't care for, but the drydown is actually really nice. So, I am glad that I made the purchase because once the top notes dissipate, then the heart and drydown are really nice.

Aeris

I'm back! Sorry, but I have to share this...there is a dessert made inspired by the Angel Sucree perfume! It's an eclair and looks delicious:

pursuitist.com/fauchon-eclair-inspired-thierry-muglers-angel-fragrance

fauchon.com/en/magazine/eclair-angel-f.html

An excerpt: " French pastry maker Fauchon decided to transform an iconic fragrance into a treat for the taste buds with a special edition dessert: a sweet éclair filled with marbled cream." Btw I still have been wearing this perfume everyday since I bought it! With my luck, when I finally found a true signature scent for myself ....it's a limited edition!

almarie

I finally tried this at our store, but I have to say that it's not what I had thought based on some reviews and the notes listed. Upon first spray, it almost seems like a medicinal type of scent and I hate to say it, but at least on me it almost appears to have a "cat urine" vibe to it. I wish I liked it better because I collect all the flankers, but this one I will just have to pass on.

mizzjnice

Hate the original Angel but LOOOOVE this. I thought it would be too sticky sweet at first (like Pink Sugar, UGH!) but it actually smells great on me. I don't find it cloying or headache inducing at all. I also love the bottle! If you like vanilla and sweet scents but with a little more grown up vibe, try this one.

FiaM

I want the full size and will pay retail. (IMO..still a reasonable price point) It's my favorite between Lancôme LVEB & Miss Dior. I even prefer it to the staggeringly over popular, Coco Mademoiselle.
The balance in this fragrance is amazing. Not finding a dominate note. (I'm talkin' to you, patchouli) The bottle is stunning. Worth the price for the glass artwork. Dry down won't leave you with that unmistakable Angel scent. I found it mellow, more gourmand

asher.jessie

I'm very angry that my reviews of this keep getting deleted, just because I dislike something that is very popular. I think people deserve to see both sides of the same coin, when they make their choice about buying a fragrance. So for heaven's sake, be mature and leave my negative review alone..There's always a chance that someone else out there might dislike this, so I don't want someone to drop a pretty penny on something they wouldn't like.

Negative reviews exist for a reason. So I'll repeat.

My skin really tears this composition apart. I have many of the flankers of Angel, all of which I adore. The patchouli bomb is legend, and my skin simply loves it. I'm very partial to the Angel EDP, the four Garden of Stars, and 2013's Aqua Chic.

This one, however, is a disaster.

At the beginning of its journey on my skin, it has this very strong, menthol smell that reminds me of Icy Hot or stale Noxema facial cleanser. It's like a camphoric eucalyptus smell, but with an odd sweetness that makes it smell rancid.

There's an underlying sweet patchouli somewhere under that mess, but it's not strong enough to save the initial hour of this perfume.

After the first hour or so, it dries down to something that reminds me of canned peaches… Peaches that have been drenched in corn syrup, giving them an odd, musty smell.

Unfortunately, I have nothing positive to say about this perfume. I adore Noxema, and swear by its wonderful effects on my skin…but the idea of smelling like it for three to five hours is off-putting.

Make sure you try this on your skin before you buy it. It smelled wonderful on the tester strip to me, but quite the opposite on my skin.

apricot.porridge

Oh Heavens! I am not usually into sugary scents - I like sweet and fruity, but no sugar per se.
But this is such a luxury blend of meringue and cherries, there is enough patchouli to ground this fragrance and make it elegant and grown up without taking away from the sweetness and slight tartness of cherries, and the playful vibe of the added sugary sweetness. This little treasure is a modern work of art in a perfume form! Not the most everyday friendly scent if you're looking for something understated, but definitely an all rounder if you're into this type of scent!! Really, really impressed with this!!!

[email protected]

I like it fine. It's a nice change for me in that there is less patchouli. If I want patchouli, I'll wear the other versions. Bottles never intererst me: I just care about the senct inside. I like it as a change.

rue_de_la_roux

I am kind of kicking myself for not buying this today. I was on a smelling spree and tested out 5 fragrances, it wasn't easy trying to pick just one. Well, my husband was with me, it was my birthday and he was buying so I kind of let him decide. He didn't care for this an d it bothered him allergy wise. (So I'll go in town and pick it up on my own, lol. I think it was the initial blast that bothered him, he's survive the rest with me!)

OMG the berry notes are driving my crazy, they're so zingy, so full of like and zest, wow! They jump right out at you and bounce off the vanilla meringue. I don't know where the patchouli went but its very light. Really doesn't seem like an Angel Flanker at all. Maybe that's why I like it so much.

emi

I really hope Thierry Mugler will introduce this version to his permanent offer.

witch_mum

Yesterday, I've sprayed it on my wrist in the shop - and after hours, I was surprised about the very subtile woody scent - no sticking sweetness, despite the name. It's on my watchlist.

Aeris

One last thing I wanted to add...Despite the fact that I am now in love with the scent, I'm a little disappointed in the bottle. It looks SOOO much better in the picture. It's opaque and kind of dull in person. I would've preferred to have a transparent bottle so I can see how much juice is left to know when it's time to buy a backup bottle! What kind of voodoo magic lighting was the marketing team using when they took the promo pics? But it doesn't matter though, it's what's on the inside that counts :)

AmoreProfumi

Smelled this just yesterday @ my local Nordies, So I sprayed it on the tester strip I will say @ least with me that it was a little off putting at first with "Eau Sucree" I got an almost medicinal smell @ first that made my nose curl...but still I said what the hey && sprayed a bit on my wrist...I got the same initial smell, but that doesn't last for long as it developed I got the sweetness of it, the Berries/ Meringue really help round out the patchouli, I thought of Jimmy Choo exotic for some reason throw a lil' meringue in that && you'd have a distant cousin, I liked this on my skin, just not enough to own it... the Longevity was pretty decent lasted from the time I sprayed it around 4pm && could still faintly detect it around midnight, && the sillage well I could catch subtle wafts of it when I moved my arm so I say it's pretty decent to. I must say the bottle disappointed me a bit, I was thinking it was frosted blue glass with the pretty speckles, come to found out it's opaque...It isn't bad, give it a try! :)

Overall: 8/10

Aeris

I can't stop wearing this perfume!!! This is a miracle considering I almost never wear the same thing twice in a row with my huge collection. I am leaving my other review below alone and am not deleting my initial "meh" impression so you guys can see the typical progression from dislike to LOVE for Mugler fragrances.

Aeris

Uh oh, I might not be buying this after all. I finally got to try it at the mall. I'm a huge fan of the original, but Sucree is just not wowing me. I was completely prepared to shell over the $80, but after smelling the sample, had to tell the perfume counter associate that I'd have to think about it and come back. Oh please let this develope into something I want. It's been half an hour so far and I'm wandering the mall hoping the middle and base notes will kick in and change my mind. It just comes across as stale candy atm :(
Edit: ha I ended up buying it anyway an hour later. It's not my favorite flanker, but it's still good. Muglers second best is still better than other companies' best. The fact that Mugler won't be making flankers anymore after this year made me feel more inclined to buy it . The sillage and longevity are nowhere near as intense as the original Angel, so it's safer for work. It's more of a crowd pleaser and less of a "love it or hate it" scent. It does smell much better after an hour or two when the meringue kicks in stronger. I wish they would've toned down the patchouli a little bit, and added more vanilla (I didn't know it was there until I looked at the notes in this site). If the original Angel is a warrior archangel, and Innocent is a baby cherubim, then Sucree is a Guardian (Seraphim) Angel.
Edit #2. I'm a huge Mugler fan. But I've never liked any of the scents on first smell. It's always a process as you see above. Now I'm in love with Sucree and will buy a backup. Ahhh you're a genius Mugler!

c3c

SO I've been wearing Eau Secree and I think I can write a review.
Obviously it's yet another Angel that smells absolutely nothing like the original. Why do they keep doing this? I theorize it's simple. We all recognize, and frankly love, the star shaped icon. Really who doesn't like stars? Very clever. Of course Alien and Womanity have followed in the foot steps and are not stars. So why take something that we all know and regurgitate it in so many forms? Well why do we keep buying it? We know it as a quality item, we are familiar with it, we like it, and even if we are disappointed with one we often love another. I hear TM has come out with a new version of something I know far too well and I'm STILL looking to try it. We are addicts. Plain and simple.

Ok now so on to the perfume! Thank goodness (for me) this is nothing like the EDT. It is like a strawberry/berry lemonade. Have you ever muddled a strawberry in lemonade? If you haven't and you like them, try it. Lots of sugar, plenty sweet. I'm sorry Angel? I forgot you mentioned it. It warms up to a creamy lemon berry, well, "meringue" if you'll have that that vaguely reminds me of other things. This is really nice. Sillage and longevity are not as clingy as the patchouli in Angel, sometimes a good thing, but still good. It is well worth purchasing in my opinion. Not challenging, not controversial, simple sweet an pleasant over all. "Nice" comes to mind, So if your looking for the original Angel and Womanity challenge "takes the right person" here, you will be disappointed. If you like the fragrant blend of pleasant acceptability, you will not be disappointed. Maybe I should be disappointed then. Shame on you TM. But I like it.

vhelsing

I've finally got it in Sephora ! and i'm really disappointed :-( . It's verry nice scent, at the beginning really fruity but on me not sweet at all, and what's almost unbelievable, doesn't last long ! incredible but true. I thought that this will be also powerfull like original but it's not.

KarmenN

Am I the only one finding this not what i have expected from Mugler , it was nice for short period of time it looked almost like i have sprayed my self with berry liquor and that lasted for short time and all it was left was some week soft fruity something .I own Alien and Angel and i expected powerhouse perfume for summer ,I was so excited and it is just not what i expected from him ,that's all :(

iloveravens

goodness,i am suprisingly loving this one. angel was my perfume back when i was an older teen, young 20s tried to revisit it recently with a tiny 15ml star but sadly it went all tea and patch and none of the sweet sweet chocolate caramel that i remember. whilst browsing debenhams looking for bonbon i came across this. it had not even been on my radar. wow its a tiny bit angel with some berries and the most wonderful, true to life, keep sniffing my wrist and marvelling meringue. the patchouli is light and fresh and the lasting power is fantastic for a summer edt flanker. its very very sweet but never cloying and it reminds me a little of britneys believe but much sweeter and not synthetic in the slightest.
just had to edit after wearing it all day in the drydown is tons of icing sugar totally get the name of this now. really really like this one.

dollycalifornia

This perfume reminds me of when I was a child at my grandmother's house, it's summer and I'm in the garden going to pick up raspberries... Such a good memory ! It smells exactly like that. Raspberries/Red Berries, but so fresh at the same time ! I don't think of anybody getting sick with this perfume. It is sweet but fresh. Very nice for summer, if you have the opportunity go try it because it is so lovely ! And if you don't like original Angel, I think you could like this one (Personnally original Angel is too heavy for me). The bottle is a very nice iced blue, with sugar sprinkles.
I want it for sure !

Jillzilla

@c3c, I think you would be drooling. My experience with Angel EDT was that the red berry note interacted with the pink pepper and it was sharp! Here in Angel Sucree, the opening smelled like cherry syrup (with a slightly medicinal edge) and patchouli, but the medicinal component disappeared within 5 minutes and it then became cherry syrup + patchouli. My nose interpreted the meringue note in the heart more as a "whipped cream" note. The sillage is big and the scent cloud is sweeter than what I smell when I press my nose to my wrist. This is a delectable, sweet, gourmand patchouli with whipped cream and a cherry on top. I do love a dirty camphorous patchouli too, but this is the opposite. This is like dessert.

lesgalaxies

My first Angel! After practically suffocating in a metallic cloud testing each and every one, I am happy to say I have finally found the angel that suits me! Very sweet in comparison to all the other flankers, which might just enhance its loveliness for some, while others I can see being off put by its much more wearable approach. I do find it similar to other scents, but I know I like particular scents, whether or not they're the same, each one I do decide to own has its place in my wardrobe. Not sure what that whole thing is about, anyway..

Angel is unique on its own accord, so a flanker of it will be, as well. Soooo tempted to just run right into my nearest perfume counter and grab this!

Jenge

As an Angel avoider, I approached this fragrance with very low expectations. I have to say this is the best flanker in my opinion.

The good: The meringue. This note is so delicious! It was the first thing I could smell and I couldn't stop sniffing my arm. Caramelized, sweet vanilla meringue with an effervescent feel. Also good is the dry-down. Soft, warm vanilla patchouli that even this patchouli hater found lovely. There are only a hint of the red berries at the end of the dry-down. The longevity is also huge and lasted overnight on me, going on 13 hours.

The bad: The red berries. Oh my, these are radioactive, synthetic berries that overtake everything for about 4 hours. They showed up about 20 minutes in and were almost medicinal to me. Cherry cough syrup or medicated cherry ChapStik came to mind.

If the berries could be dialed back about 90%, this would have tempted me to buy. I do think it will be hugely popular with the masses though as a user-friendly modern take on Angel. That meringue note is to die for, and if I could somehow remove those berries, I would love this!

For what it's worth, the bottle wasn't that pretty in real life to me. It was more opaque & matte than in the photo.

louisminaj

Okay, so I bought this today in Debenhams in the UK! Didn't know it was released, so I was obviously excited when I had seen as I am a HUGE Thierry mugler fan! The bottle, like most Mugler bottles, is stunning, I like the whole frosted and glazed with sugar feel and look! Stunning bottle AGAIN! So the smell, the smell in this, to me, is nothing like the original Angel, which is good but also bad. People who dislike the original because of the obnoxious Patchouli note, will definitely like this scent, but lovers of the original (like myself) who love the Patchouli, might be a bit disappointed.

But in my personal opinion, I LOVE this scent. The best part of this scent is the caramelized meringue! Once the fragrance is applied, the frosted sorbet just attacks! It is gorgeous and soft with a very fruity and fresh kick, which smells deliciously gourmand. After about 30 minutes the meringue comes into play and Jesus, this is where the fragrance is, this section of this fragrance is truly memorable for all the right reasons. This smells so edible and sugary without that cloying feel. It is again, fresh and sweet, with a delectable creamy finish. So stunning. With the base, the vanilla I feels to me like it blends in with the sorbet and the meringue, this what I feel makes the fragrance ever so creamy. And the Patchouli, strangely enough, has very little showtime! Thierry Mugler is usually known for his love of Patchouli, where as in this fragrance, it takes the back seat. Don't get me wrong, you can still smell it there just lingering in the background, but it never really 'shows' itself, which I think in this fragrance is a good thing! It smells unbelievably divine, with a very gourmand feel from the start to finish.

The lasting power and silage are very mediocre though, but you have to take note that its EDT. It lasts a lot longer than most EDT's but its shame, because this fragrance is so well blended and crafted you can only wish for me power. But if it was stronger, I suppose it would defeat the object of being a summer fragrance.

All in all, this fragrance is so delicious and well blended. Perfect for the people who hate the original Angel. I highly recommend you go smell this fragrance if you can, I gurantee you won't be disappointed.

smelling_gr8

The opening is a bowl of juicy, slightly acidic red berries heavily sprinkled with lightly caramelised caster sugar. Simply delicious and smells good enough to eat.
At this point I am thinking WOW, finally Angel I actually CAN wear and love. Yes, I am definitely going to buy this baby.
But then, after about an hour, the initial delicious smell suddenly turns to some musty vanilla, or a gone off stale meringue. Just bleurgh! Such a pity, I almost weep, but I persevere with the fragrance and lo and behold, the beauty returns and lingers on and on and on. Eventually it dries down to light vanilla sugar scent with a teeny bit of patch in a far distance.
I was so sure I would buy this Angel, and if the opening notes lasted forever, and the middle notes weren't there, then I would have bought a full bottle straightaway. But now...I am not sure. I still think it is the best and the most wearable Angel (especially for patchouli virgins and original flanker haters) but, could I get past the middle notes...hhhmmmm.....maybe I will try it one more time and then, only then I will make my final decision.

genny17

I am on my second bottle, this is such a great scent!!!! Mugler plays with notes to create a complex, modern , smooth scent..I wasn't a fan of the original, it has a dirty edge to my nose, but Sucree is great!!! Thumbs up to Mugler for that creation , feminine, warm, with a raspberry undertone and a light smokiness.. The meringue is so realistically reproduced...longevity is nice, it stays many hours on my skin..on top of it, it would please women any age, as it isn't a candy saturated scent..
The bottle is great too..
Not everybody will like it, especially if you loved the original, still there are appropriate ways of saying it..you don't like it, fine, doesn't mean the scent is bad!!!! Your taste isnt my taste!!
Best Angel for me!!

asher.jessie

This is gross. The initial opening is nice, because it's a very interesting fresh, sweet burst of patchouli….but after about two minutes, it smells like moldy, overripe peaches. Or like those god-awful high fructose corn syrup-drenched canned peaches.

Disgusting. The worst Mugler release to this date. The idea is such a cop-out anyway…are they doing THAT poorly that they have to market this god awful crowd-pleasing bile to 20-somethings that have no creativity or taste?

Angel Eau Sucree has now been launched in various department stores in the UK, so is no longer exclusive to House of Fraser. I popped into my local John Lewis yesterday and was given the cutest little sample... It's wrapped in a pale blue striped sweet wrapper and looked too good to open! Anyhow, I resisted opening it until today and totally agree with the reviewer below me. This is indeed very sweet but not in a way that makes it smell cheap or cloying. The sweetness is tempered by the tartness of the berries and the whole thing blends together beautifully. I sprayed this on before my Zumba workout today and it smelled amazing during and beyond my class. To me, this smells like a sexy pavlova... Sexy in a fun, flirtatious way, rather than a seductive or provocative way. I do get that hint of the original Angel (which I also love) but Eau Sucree is definitely much more suited to spring/summer, as you'd expect. My little sample won't last long as when I smell this I just want to envelope myself in it! Very good quality and lasting power for an eau de toilette. A great formulation and for me the best Angel flanker yet.
EDIT: I do get the comparison to La Vie Est Belle, but for me Angel Eau Sucree wins hands down.

Arielrose

Love at first sniff! :D
Wow - this is truly a delicious scent that is perfect in every way (in my opinion, at least). It is sweet, but not overwhelming or sickeningly so, it has the patchouli that makes the original Angel famous, but it's subtle in this mix - so I still get a little touch of 'Angel' but not in the same way. The Meringue/Vanilla is simply to die for - smells just like a meringue coming from the oven. The berries are wonderful too and blend in well without taking all the attention from the other notes. I haven't loved a fragrance this much from first use in a very long time. I will be wearing this a lot, as it feels it would suit a variety of events and situation. It's unique from my other gourmands, so to me it's money well spent.
My only frustrations? That you can't get a stronger Eau de Parfum (the Toilette lasts ok, but it won't be the one-spray lasts all day sillage-monster of the original) and that it's limited edition - time to stock up!

Hayven

I don't have much to add to the reviews other than it's only Angel by name. This could have been marketed to be a totally different scent really. It's very gourmand, but the sweetness is not overwhelming to me at all. The patchouli is barely noticeable and helps anchor the sillage and longevity of the fragrance.

Thank you to a fellow Fragrantican for obtaining a sample for me.

VintageViolet_

What a fun fragrance!

Smells like a vanilla raspberry ripple ice cream float made with lemonade. Fizzy & sweet!

After Angel Violette, this is my favourite flanker so far. (I hate the original Angel as it smells like bad body odour on me.)

Lily2911

My buddy asked if i had made some delicious Pavlova pastry when he came home : "no it is me ". He was sniffing on me like a dog and he just adored it :-) it is a very edible gourmand but surprisingly "fresh". I was afraid it would have been a heavy sweet bomb but it is not the case. On my skin the rasperry plays a very dominant role and this provides a lot of freshness and assures that frosty character. The meringue note mixed with patchouli and tiny bit of vanilla, waaw well done.. It could have been a major "candy" disaster if you read all these ingredients but what you get is a quite refined gourmand which even a non gourmand person could appreciate because it is a skin scent, although the longevity is quite nice for an edt version. It is a flanker but what a personality, i hope they will keep them and not limit it as a summer edition. There are not many perfume houses who are successful in developing good creative flankers but Thierry Mugler succeeds to bring every time flankers you really want to acquire, even if you have the original, keep and rebuy them which is very rare in this flanker over- load perfume industry.
Highly recommended version for this spring & summer !!

Stacierew

Delicious. Reminds me of a raspberry creme macaroon...with a dusting of pastry sugar. I do wish the top notes would last longer...It smells of cherry lip smackers (remember those?). The dry down is a soft vanilla, with an expert touch of patchouli. Where classic angel was heavy choco patch...Eau sucree is vanilla bean patch. Beautiful...ice creamy and gourmand. I actually wish silllage and projection were more intense. Might end up going through this bottle quickly.

StellaDiverFlynn

Angel Eau Sucrée opens with a creamy vanilla. At the same time, a tart, almost boozy red berry and a raw, herbaceous patchouli form a shrill scent, piercing through the milky goodness of vanilla. This sharpness contrasts with the creamy dessert, which is attention-grabbing and strangely addictive.

Within an hour, the patchouli falls to the background and the tartness of red berries also mellows into a meringue note which smells incredibly realistic to me. It does not only have the vanilla sweetness; it also has a powdery texture which reminds me of the smell of powdered sugary crumbs when crunching a meringue! And the red berries, although sweetened, do not smell overly artifical to me, but more like carefully sugarcoated ones used in pastry. The whole effect when smelt up close, like some already pointed out, is like a pavlova, yummy! At the same time, if I catch a whiff from afar, the combination of patchouli and vanilla has a praline smell, hence a potential similarity with Lancôme La Vie est Belle.

After about 6 hours, Angel Eau Sucrée becomes a skin scent, with vague patchouli and vanilla, slightly spicy and utterly delectable.

The sillage is relatively heavy and the longevity is around 11 hours. The patchouli in Angel Eau Sucrée is still quite perceptible, but more on the clean side compared to the more heavy, chocolate-y interpretation in the original Angel. Thus, Angel Eau Sucrée might be more 'friendly' in this matter. Futhermore, I'm really impressed by the meringue note. I'd definitely recommend gourmand lovers giving it a try.

Thank you for sharing this with us jovejove! As you seem to be very knowledgable about the new Mugler launches, perhaps you could start a topic thread about the 'Les Exceptions' fragrances so that we can discuss them further, as I don't think they're listed on the database yet.

Now that they are officially being launched in Canada, I can speak about them. Mugler just launched 5 new fragrances called "Les Exceptions", with 5 more on their way. They are the exclusive collection that will adorn you like a couture piece from the Mugler fashion house.

They went back to the classic olfactory groups, made a traditional composition of that family group and added a guest ingredient that has never been used in that olfactive group before. They smell refined, but with an unusual twist that grasps your interest.

They are Oriental Express, Chyprissime, Fougere Fuirieuse, Supra Floral and Over the Musk. They are being currently launched in 4 of the 14 international locations that are meant to carry them. It is Exclusive to Hudson's Bay in downtown Montreal, Toronto (Queen street and Yorkdale Mall), and downtown Vancouver. They are truly an experience of the senses.

The perfumers are Olivier Polge and Jean-Christophe Herault.

If you have the opportunity and are visiting Canada, make sure you drop by these locations and adorn yourself with at least one of these masterpieces.

They come in 80ml refillable bottles and are 185 for the initia purchase and 127 to refill.

Enjoy X)

I tested this today and it was very weak, lasting only 30 minutes and then poof it was gone. I prefer last years AquaChic Angel to this. This smelled like a cheap body spray with no complexity. Lemming killed.

Not a fan of the original Angel, with its dirty undertone, but this is IMO the best flanker there is!!! A warm raspberry liquor, oozing with sweetness, but not a candy sweetness, a fresh sweetness, not overdone, a hint of spiciness I detect a bit of patchouli, and the meringue, great reproduction of meringue in Angel Sucree!! ..soooo nice!!! Complex, not a teenager scent, my husband called it delicious!! And another person told me the same!! Good job on that one..
Longevity is just fine... The scent lingers on nicely..
Mugler has the golden touch, another creation with punch, originality, feminity, and that unique modern edge!!

Perfect, everything is balanced!!. Not strong Patchouli, Meringue note is soo pretty, very noticeable, juicy berries which makes it fruitier and fresher.
I love it, almost edible, delightful. Very french and feminine, sweeter.
Different from the regular, but with its edge, with personality.
T. Mugler brand has made a great succes with it.

This smells really good but if I didn't know it was an Angel flanker, I would never have guessed that it was. I don't get Angel at all. What I do get is a sweet, fruity patchouli. Does that mean I don't like it? No, not at all. In fact I really like it on my skin. It smells like spun sugar, berries, and a little patchouli. The vanilla is sweet and creamy like ice cream. It definitely doesn't last nearly as long as Angel, and the sillage is much softer as well. I think people who love Angel might be disappointed, however people hesitant to wear Angel flankers may find this more wearable/approachable (as long as they like sweet scents). I really like the meringue note here and somehow it just works well with the berries. It's more like spun sugar to me but there is no burnt note at all. Will I buy a fb? No, probably not, but I will happily wear my sample until it's gone!

EDIT: I wore it again today and I have to say, I'm liking it more and more! Plus my hubby likes it, which is a plus. I sprayed 9 times (okay that's waaaay more than I normally apply!!) and it ended up lasting all day. So I think you can get good lasting power out of it, but you have to apply liberally. It smells so good!!! I might have to think about getting a fb after all...

It's really not bad to be honest :) It's a fun fragrance, which this version is a good break from how intense this line can get. And funny how the fragrances they launch get lighter...and lighter.. hint hint, your line might be too strong for it's market.

Smells like a sexy desert, you will become edible, and it's a complex sweet, not like they just added a cherry accord and made it smell like Jolyl Ranchers. It has a nice, airy dry down that retains a fluffy and creamy texture!

Aeris you can buy this on the Thierry mugler website.

LOVE this. Has to be my new favorite angel.

I get that amazing angel scent that wonderfully transforms into a delicious, creamy meringue that reminds me of meringue cookies with a nice caramel sauce on top.

The bitch is back. I've dabbled with a few angel flankers and while they are nicely done, none have been so good they became a repeat buy. Saw this in the store today and it was displayed like on an old fashioned ice cream cart? I was intrigued to try. When I held the bottle I felt a thrill, really, that sugary coating was so tactile! I sprayed. Sniffed. Not sweet but fruity which I intially guessed as blackcurrant but now know as raspberry. I wandered away and came back to the office. It is HAUNTING me so much I am counting the hours til hometime and I'm going right back to get it. My fingers are craving the bottle as much as my nose for the scent.

Smelled this yesterday and I must point out that it is almost an exact dupe for la vie est belle by lancome. This is just juicier and you can smell lots of cranberry whereas la vie est belle is very thick, syrupy and much heavier cloud of patchouli that is best suited for winter. Quite funnily I actually prefer this, silage on la vie est belle can be suffocating. I can spray this several times and get gorgeous juicyness, this mingles more with chemistry aswell, LVEB kinda just sits on my skin and doesn't really develop. Moreover I do prefer and want both, just with this yyou can get away with wearing during warmer weather though. I also highly recommend this if you like la vie est belle but its too thick and heavy for you - try this, the juicier lighter option.

I. Must. Have. This.

I'm almost curious to try this, but I'm very afraid that the patchouli in this overpowers the entire composition as it does in regular Angel (which to me really is the devil in disguise). Now... patchouli is not necessarily a bad thing,... but it is an extremely bad thing in Angel,... at least: on my skin...
