This is definitely a fragrance you need to let macerate for a little bit before you can enjoy it. to my nose its a fruity musky cleanish scent. i wouldn’t necessarily say its sweet, its more of a true fruity smell with an undertone of earthiness, the opening is an earthy fruit punch that lasts all through out, lasts a moderate amount of time and the sillage is decent. if you found the original angel too cloying and intense, i think this is a safe option if you want that similar DNA without it being headache inducing. i’d say it reads unisex and slightly more masculine leaning than i would’ve liked so i’d say for my ladies to layer a sweeter fragrance on top to add some femininity.

De Zomerkoningin

I have a full bottle for sale in the EU, boxed and in blister. DM me when interested.

Elyka21

I first tried it last year and I love it, the almond is gorgeous in this one, airy, sweet and fresh, it makes me feel clean, refreshed. I love wearing this in spring and summer. It lasts ages.

temporal

I do not recognize this fragrance in the listed notes. I find citruses, spruce and juniper, almost gin & tonic, but soft and with a drop of very mild vanilla in the heart. The atmospheric, uplifting, almost aquatic fragrance brings a feeling that something good is just around the corner. Something like the Christmas feeling in childhood.

Bkboynxtdoor

I had a full bottle in box of this but tossed it bc I felt like I wasn’t using it and it had gone bad, dumb of me

Tourtiere

Angel’s chocolate sweetness crossed with… aquatic calone notes? It’s Angel crossed with Cool Water. It’s intriguing but the first thing that sprung into my mind was the “I’M A SEXY BABY” woman from 30 Rock. Not for me thanks!

Goldena35

I somehow came into possession of a bottle of this shower gel (waayyy back in the day) and I remember loving it. I already had fallen for Angel (the OG) and thought this was a sweet and easy compliment for that and other perfumes I had in my late teens/ early 20’s. I loved anything “dirty” (which as a grownup I now recognize as patchouli and woods). This was a fluffy light version of that scent profile. No clue who left this in my shower…but I thank them and now am going to hunt some down for nostalgia sake.

Fruit-chan

I feel like a Barbie girl in a Barbie world when I wear this. The ultimate fragrance for dolls.
Blue Davana and Cacao smells similar to me.
In case you cant find this one.

banillamood

I still prefer Angel over this flanker, but this is noticeably a more playful & juvenile version. Hence, innocent.
90’s nostalgia in a bottle. Crowd pleaser, charisma on a hundred. You just know you smell good. Hold on y’all.. why don’t they make stuff like this no more?

marie.pacesova

As a Thierry Mugler fun I am using Innocent in spring/summer Months instead of proper heavy Angel. It has the DNA, but without heavy patchouli. It is gourmand, but in an old school way, not like nowadays sickly sweet like Elie Saab Girl off now. Its sweet but fresh to and it has great Sillage. I would not recommend to blind buy it. Sometimes I need to be in a right mood for wearing it and choose a different summer perfume from my collection.

umayy

i mostly get citrus shampoo fragrance vibes. i even sense an aromatic vibe. it is such a crowd pleaser imo

Sleekdecadence

I feel it a little unisex but in a very pleasant way. Like a hug from my bf after he had a shower. So gentle and relaxing. It has a cooling effect on me, good for summer too. I was surprised it’s an edp because unfortunately it lasts only a few hours with little sillage.

Mammajamma

I will say, my bottle is at least 5 years old, maybe more, so I’m sure I’m not getting the same experience as a fresh one. I adore the bottle itself, so cute! The juice is still light blue if that matters. As soon as I spray it, I know it’s a Mugler, it is not floral at all and has a slight resemblance to the far dry down of angel minus the patchouli. When it was newer, I smelled a slightly tangy citrus and almost a crisp pine note. That is gone now. A bit of sour berries is in my first spray now, and then it’s a fuzzy fluffy blanket. I don’t get much almond, especially not the strong almond/cherry that happens sometimes in perfumes. What I do get is a slight chocolate/caramel/berry and white musk that is so blended that you couldn’t separate those notes, they would be driving me crazy to figure out if I didn’t have a notes list. The sweets takes away the sharpness that is in white musk perfumes normally, but I don’t find it SWEET like nowadays. Maybe too fresh and light (not bright, fluffy)
for winter maybe too blanket-like for summer. I think it would carry beautifully on a breezy spring or early fall day.

Wendy.Kroy

Smells like meringue to me, there's like a souffle texture to it. Beautiful and not dated at all.

perfumelovere

I blended this with Angel perfume oil from US oil perfumery and they compliment each other so nicely. The angel oil cancels out the aftershave note which I don't like about innocent and the Innocent EDP tones down the patchouli intensity of angel so your final product is gourmand, amber liquid gold with a touch of fruitiness. I've really gotten into layering especially with oils since EDP is a mere fraction of projection and longevity of what it used to be a decade or so ago.

carla.c1

This is ethereal.

Fragrances to me are about feelings. Where do they take me? How do they make me feel?

This one takes me to my dreamland - it takes me to my childhood dreams, filled with the Sun and the calm ocean - an ocean made in my own consciousness, designed by my own mind. Takes me to the depths of my Psyche, gives me a peace I cannot find in my daily life, at least not so often. I feel so good when I wear this perfume - it takes me to a beautiful place I am only able to find within myself.

Lovely, delicate, a little soapy, a little sweet powdery.

perfumelovere

Damn, this is not what I was expecting at all. I love Alien on me and Angel on others. I can't wear Angel because it's a patchouli bomb but I have so much respect for the composition and the response it evokes when I used to smell it on others. This perfume is not an amber vanilla to my nose. I'm not even sure what scent family I'd place this one in. I was hoping for a gourmand but this is way more fresh unisex. I definitely get the aftershave vibes people have mentioned in the reviews. I don't dislike it but it's an odd blend. I get citrus, pine, praline and something musty. It's too sparkling and masculine for what I see in the notes but maybe I can layer it with something else.

Fuegogo

Recently purchased a full bottle because I couldn’t find any samples and only place to buy this in the UK is from the Mugler website. They had a sale on so I got a good deal. Sprayed this on and it took me straight back to smelling this in the 90s! 😊 So I guess if it has been reformulated it can’t be too different. Its got the Angel DNA. You can tell straight away it’s an Angel. It’s sparkling which I love so that you do think of stars. The almonds and praline give it a delicious gourmand quality like the original Angel EDP and it smells sweet and chocolatey. But there’s also a freshness with the fruits that smells aquatic. Nice mixture of fresh and gourmand. So it’s fresher than the original but with the gourmand notes it’s still a full-on perfume like the original and Innocent is indeed an EDP rather than a EDT. It’s a lovely take on Angel and I think also due to nostalgic reasons I really like this ✨

EDIT: just to say as of 15th Sept Innocent is on sale yet again on the UK Mugler website - £39.20 for 75ml. Makes me wonder if it’s going to be discontinued.

fruity & sweet, but much more modern & intricate than a fruity, sweet celeb perfume

melanie mother or foxes

This was my going out signature scent when it was first released. I went through endless bottles. Oh how I loved innocence. It always got me compliments by" lads "and " proper "men lol.
I have a tiny dribble left in my last bottle bur im afraid to purchase the new L'Oréal version incase its been butchered like angel has.

justcheckinout

Just spilled a few drops of Innocent, so here's my next review 😂 This is about the L'Oreal version produced in late 2020.

This is the fruity, more refreshing sister of Angel. The OG Angel is packed with caramel, honey, and over-ripened fruits. Here, the sweetness is mainly contributed by the juicy berries and orange. The blackcurrant note seems more like cassis leaf on my wrist, because when I catch whiffs of it, it smells fruity with a hint of green to me. Another review mentioned how this smells like the Angel body cream. To me, only the slightly aquatic berries notes are similar in both. Musk and bergamot are much more dominant in Innocent than in Angel EDP and its body products, and I never got any of these two notes in OG Angel even though they are listed in the notes. Sillage is moderate and longevity is 8 hours.

Side note comparison: It looks like how Mugler is approaching Aura Sensuelle is similar to Innocent. Both the OG Angel and Aura EDPs are inedible futuristic gourmands, and Innocent and Aura Sensuelle turned these gourmands into unique pieces of homemade soaps -- cleaner, more refreshing, the daytime mode of their originals.

EDIT 9/7: I got more praline and sweeter notes when weather is cooler today!

Tincel

Nice but too sparkling. Where are the base notes that should remind me of Angel?

TwilightAngel19

"Being nostalgic over a memory you never had." This is what describes this perfume when I first smelled it; I was transported to great childhood memories and it really reminded me of my youth and the innocence I once had before reality woke me up. Just soft, dreamy, heavenly perfection with the almond and praline notes. I'm so glad they brought this back from the 90s because it's an underrated gem and one of my most favourite scents of all time!

Udacha

Ohhh what a tenderness ! I feel like it’s a perfect title “Innocence “ for this subtle, tender bouquet of citrus m berries and almond coco …that is how black currant should smell…without the chemical or cat pee notes - An absolute and instant Love!!!!

jreyes366

This baby here smells exactly as I imagined it would based upon my own experience with the house of Mugler, and what a lot of the reviews say here, are pretty accurate.

This has the Angel DNA but not half as sweet and the patchouli is fresh and not too bitter or 'dirty' smelling. I don't really get men's Cologne or aftershave, just a nice fruity and flirty scent on me at least.

The patchouli does kind of wear off quickly which is honestly a disappointment because that's what would make this last longer. Longevity is the kicker with this one.

Devinerz

This fragrance was gifted to me in 2011 by my mother back when my perfume collection was non existent. So naturally I am particularly sentimental about this scent because of the fond memories it brings up and how much I treasured it back then.

It's a youthful and mysterious scent. Fruity and sweet but not in a sickly or stifling way. There is an almost sharpness coming from the top notes which helps balance the overall scent and give it a refreshing crisp vibe. The sweetness of the berries and praline make it perfect for autumn, while the zesty mandarin and bergamot notes allow it to perfectly suit warmer weather too.

I wish it was more readily available as I will always want it in my fragrance wardrobe. I do wish it lasted longer though.

SailorV

Innocent started out as an Angel flanker and it really shows. I wonder why they removed 'Angel' from its name, as the similarities in scent and design are obvious. This is a great choice for people who usually like fresher fragrances and are fascinated by Angel, but find it too loud and challenging to wear.

I have no idea why patchouli isn't a listed note. Especially the opening is full of it. It's the herbal, earthy kind, but not even half as dirty as in the original Angel. The citrus and berry notes are quite tart and fresh, so the overall impression is clean and juicy, not too syrupy.
In the drydown the musk comes out, adding some creamy, fluffy sweetness with a hint of praliné. It never becomes as heavy and gourmand as its big sister Angel, the absence of notes like honey and cotton candy really makes a huge difference. Innocent has a flirty and youthful vibe, but it's way less sweet than more recent 'Angel lite' flankers like the new EDT, the Eau Sucrées or Croisières.

I don't feel like I need it now, but I kind of regret that I never got it when I was a teenager - back then I was obsessed with Angel a while and then ruined it for me by getting a terrible cheap dupe. Surely that wouldn't have happened with Innocent, and it would have been more appropriate for school than Angel EDP.

LikaLila

This is Angel’s younger sibling. You get what Angel offers, but in a safer formula. I still have to be in a certain mood to wear this, as it can come across too strong at times. However, when I feel like wearing Innocent, I can’t get enough of it. Longevity could have been better though.

plum

@cocodust, I have the same (but not had covid).
I used to love it, my bottle is 15 years old. I dreamt of it and got it for my birthday. When there was a rumour is going to be discontinued I quickly bought a back up.
I am wearing it today and find it too artificial. Despite face cover I could smell it while shopping and with every whaff I was wondering for a second what was that? Only to realise in another second it was me! I did not recognise my once favourite fragrance.... I do not think its smell has changed, no, I think maybe I have outgrown of it. What I used to like as a sweet innocent smell now is just artificial and outdated. Once I read about discontinued perfumes: we should let it go and move to find something new. True

cocodust

I am trying to finish my bottle, I used to love this but something changed in my nose (I had COVID in 2020) and now can’t really work this scent out. I like the softer, later notes and dry down which are sweet and soft but the start is a bit of a mess for me, I can’t really work out what I am smelling. However I love my alien so think I may have become more of an Alien 👽 gal 😃 .

lareverie

On my skin this really smells like a cockpit spray in a bad way... It has a zesty bitterness and I also somehow get leather... I have a nearly full 75ml bottle for anyone in EU interested.

little_red_corvette

My mom always bought this and it is hard to find nowadays. I saw a good deal on it, so I picked up. It is a lovely gourmand cloud. Very fresh in the opening and in the drydown a soft musky sweetness with praline and berries. It is not as strong as other Mugler fragrances, but still lovely. It is a toned-down version of Angel. I checked the batch code of mine and it's from 2019. It smells the same as my moms' older bottle from 2015 (with the old Thierry Mugler logo on it).

starlightsteward

Maybe its the flacon and blue juice, but this to me is Angel's innocent little sister. The fruits opening is almost juvenile, like a strawberry orange banana juice; and they ring tart and citric throughout the performance. It leads into the delicate smooth gourmand that's true to the listed base notes. It is definitely a unique fragrance and much easier to wear than some of Mugler's other standouts. I put it on after a shower and can't stop smelling my arm!

genny17

I bought a bottle and I am enjoying it, it does have in truth a synthetic vibe, but I still like the smell...especially in winter, it is uplifting...fresh and warm..lovely, and absolutely nothing in comparison with the original...it is rather linear and doesn’t develop much..but so far I am spraying with pleasure.

victoria.mei1992

It’s pleasant but synthetic, so I rate it as ok.

Elen70

Can somebody tell me when was it reformulated? I'd try to buy an old version, because I blind bought the new one (I didn't know about the reformulating) and now I'm very disappointed.

rociito.moon

This has been the season of blind shopping (due to the lockdown), so the first time I tried this perfume was the day I got the box. Big mistake. By now, I should have known that the names of these perfumes have no relation to the contents of the bottle, since this perfume doesn't smell at all innocent; the juice is raw.

I think it's like Angel, without the magic (and without the sillage, projection and duration); it's not that bad, but it's much more "rustic", it actually smells like a man's cologne. All that quality and elegance I find in Angel and its flankers, I don't find it here. I should have bought another bottle of Angel, Muse, or Etoile Des Reves instead.

To me, smells more like a summer fragance, because the drydown is very fresh.

My bottle is from 2019, so maybe is not the best specimen.

Lixa

It smells good in the bottle, but on the skin it's good for the first minute. After that, it turns into something after-shave-y and kinda bitter, dirty, really nasty. Probably bad chemistry.
The same happens with Angel- it stinks to high heavens! Only Muse isn't foul, but I can't stand the foody sweetness of that one.

katariina9

It may-be my memory paying tricks, but what is more likely- back at the end of 90s, in the midst of other heady florals, Innocence smelled much lighter and fresher in comparison. It was new and interesting type of fruity scent. Yet today, when watered down unisex freshies have trended for nearly 20 years, it comes across as stronger and sweeter in comparison.

Its one of my "memory-lane" purchases and I'm really glad I got it. It comes across deceivingly simple, even girly, one of these fruity sweet scents thats has all the promise to get cloying, yet never does. It brings on the images of looking out of the window into the beautiful white winter day with snow slowly falling, whilst sitting cosily in a warm room filled with smell of freshly baked cookies.

I don't get any bleach here. Yes, it has a fresh bergamot/clementine start, cassis/blackcurrant follows quite quickly and leads throughout to the drydown, which I think may remind pine to some people. But its still a sweet scent overall. The base is delicious creamy and almost edible vanilla-praline.

This one will get lots of wear once the snowy winter is here. Weirdly, I see it fitting for Christmas.

Samanthajc1

This is the only mugler I have tried that I don’t like. To me it smells nothing like any of the other scents. It smells like old school men’s cologne. It’s very minty, citrusy, pine tree scented even though it has no mint or pine. It’s definitely not one you should blind buy. I sprayed it on myself and on my bag at the store and even the dry down was a strong Piney scent, I’m glad I went to the store because I ordered it online before trying it and I would’ve been out $80 if I opened it. This was so surprising to me because I have 5 types of angel, 3 alien, aura, womanity and a few les exeptions and mugler colognes and I love them all.

girldeadbug

Very un-Mugler-like! It smelled like a clean bathroom at first. You know, when you wipe everything down with bleach and turn the vent on and it’s purely fresh and clinical. Second time I smelled it, it was like a rush of crisp, clean air. There’s a subtle lemon scent but I guess this is actually Mandarin Orange. I know Patchouli can get menthol-y, much like in Angel Muse EDT, so I’m guessing that’s where I’m getting the fresh air scent. Then the Red Berries note is very mild, like a short whiff of a scented bar of soap. Don’t blind buy this expecting to get your usual Angel-like flankers. I don’t get the praline or the almond or the amber here. Perhaps if you like the Angel flankers and Versace Bright Crystal, imagine a kind of combination of that, and here you are with Innocent. It’s too bad it’s getting discontinued. I would LOVE if this was the scent of a cleaning product or a room spray or deodorant. I want a bottle but I can’t imagine spending $70 on a room spray. If you have an affordable bottle for sale please message me!

jovejove

I’m hearing word from several sources that all of Les Exceptions, Womanity and Innocent have been axed by L’Oréal and are now discontinued. Just an FYI for muglerians

92juanjavier

I have tested Innocent countless times, it has something addictive in its opening, but whenever I notice its drying it makes me think that it smells like a light version of Angel Eau de Toilette (2011), it's like one more Angel flanker.

Red berries and praline is what is most noticeable on my skin, also orange. Very fruity, very yummy.

As a fan of the Angel collection I don't think this is a perfume you need to have if you have any Angel, as a Mugler fan sometimes I doubt if this perfume is necessary or not, it's not very original, nice yes, but not original.

Its longevity is good, about 5 hours (I'm talking about the Mugler version, not Thierry Mugler version) and a moderate sillage, it depends on your skin and the sprays you put on, of course.

The bottle is simple but I love the star that is stamped on the bottle, especially its touch, it makes you think you are entering in another dimension, and the blue color of the liquid is fantastic too.

Give it a try, I think they will discontinue it.

Austrian_in_Denmark

This is like a smart young woman playing the naive. In a very funny and charming way. A bit like Marilyn Monroe becoming a perfume.
I did not like this so much on my skin when I first bought it, found it too sour and strong. So I gave it to a friend with a different skin chemistry. Since I had learned from earlier mistakes, I kept a big decant.
Now, some five years later, I totally enjoy this. It is sweet and pleasant, but a little challenging at the same time.

margoess

I did NOT expect to like this as much as I do! I've felt a bit apprehensive about trying anything even distantly related to Angel, since that one is such a NO for me; but I was curious enough about Innocent to ask for (and receive) a generous sample in a recent swap. I think I finally get what people mean when they say a perfume is "addictive"—I've had plenty of perfumes that I've loved sniffing repeatedly, but there's something about this one that has made me want to respray over and over! I'm fairly bursting at the seams with new samples these days, but I keep using up precious skin real estate to spray on some more Innocent.

Within 10-20 seconds of the sharp, bright bergamot opening, this turns into a delicious, floral-honey that reminds me intensely of Toblerone! It must be the praline + almond combo that I'm reading as the honey/nougat/milk chocolate Toblerone... but it's very distinctly TOBLERONE to my nose, to the point where I can almost feel the chew of the stick-in-your-teeth nougat bits. It is SO good.

I also get nervous whenever I see praline listed as a note, since there are so many praline sugar bombs out there. But this is soft and gentle, and it's got that honey sweetness vs. sugar sweetness—more full-bodied, with an almost salty aspect—so it doesn't come off as cloying to me at all. It's maybe the first Mugler perfume I've tried where you don't have to be super careful about how much you spray. With 1-2 sprays on my arm, this stays surprisingly close to the skin. The chocolate/nougat feel starts to fade away after the first hour, and I'm left with a very soft, gently sweet base where I find it hard to pick out individual notes. It becomes more like honey + black currant, an occasional whisper of mandarin? It's a wonderful, huggable skin scent.

Even though I can still detect traces of Innocent after 4+ hours, I find myself hankering after that Toblerone scent again and wanting to restart with a fresh spray. I think I need this in my life.

Tt777

Blind bought a mini as I read reviews it was like angel without the patchouli- I appreciate all fragrances I have tested by mugler in spite of not loving angel but definitely in love with alien;)

This is light and not so in your face like most mugler fragrances- clean, fresh, fruity, and sweet in a delicate way- fragrance is overall strong enough to have presence- doesn’t remind me of anything off the top of my head- sorta like what a fresh shower and clean hair smells like- I can see myself grabbing this on days I’m doing errands and dressed casually and want to smell and feel fresh and vibrant- I see high end light blue jeans and a white t-shirt, expensive bag and sandals type of daytime vibe

I see this as an inoffensive daytime fragrance- likely office safe

- there is a moment in the opening that I smell cat pee but that phase ends quickly - I have the same issue with angel eau sucree- it’s bizarre but thankfully passes quickly🤷🏻♀️

strandsikr

This one is lovely. I was smelling pure havane buy mugler in the store and asked the enthustiastic seller what innocent smelled like since I was looking for a late summer/early fall perfume. This one is really nice. It is spicy to me and a background of berries and nutty. I do not get the Praline? But I adore this fragrance and to me it smells unisex. I think it can be used by women and men. I will probably use this more in the autumn/winter than summer/autumn.

I highly recommend this one, and specially of you like a little spicy fragrances. Go check it out!

Rosariaa

I’ve just got hold of this again after using it around 20 years ago. I’ve recently managed to track down a few fragrances I loved years ago, only to be disappointed, but I love this as much as I did then. I’m fairly amateur so not really sure of notes but it’s fairly sweet without being sickly, strong sillage and lasts most of the day on my skin. My husband loves it, in fact it’s one of only a few (with Olympea and Guilty) from my collection that he really enjoys. I don’t think this is discontinued but it is quite hard to get hold of, although I’ve just discovered it’s still available on the Mugler website. Now my taste has developed and I feel confident in stronger scents it’s tempted me to try Angel again after I discarded it about 15 years ago!

EDIT: I’ve just tried samples of Angel EDP and EDT (one on each wrist) and they are nothing like this! I’m not sure what the really strong top note is, maybe patchouli, but I find it completely repugnant. I managed 20 minutes before scrubbing both. Can’t fault the longevity of these, even after scrubbing there’s a really sickly sweet trace left of the EDT and the EDP now has a weird urine note. Since I also scrubbed Alien after about 10 minutes I think I just need to accept that Innocent is the only Mugler for me!!

ptilda

This is aptly named "Innocent," in the blue Angel-inspired bottle. It's Angel for those of us who can't handle the whole spring-break-and-Mardi-Gras vibe (I've been to Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras . . . Think that smell . . . Yes, THAT) we get from the original Angel.

It's a nice fruity gourmand scent that stays true to the Mugler DNA. If this is your thing, certainly worth a try. Or if you wanted to love Angel but couldn't get past the whole vomit note, this could be your "Angel."

There's an interesting spicy note to this in the development that isn't listed in the notes. It makes it more interesting and a bit LESS innocent to me. Quite nice.

Esi42

I totally love that one. Reminds me of those carefree days at the beach just enjoying life, will buy it

YanaY

This is an odd one for me. I've smelt it on others and thought it was nice. Innocent isn't suffocating the way Angel is. It's fruity, and a little nutty and powdery. It's unique, but unfortunately just as headache inducing as Angel. It was a scrubber for me.

Scentedalterego

Oh gosh how I love this.....went trough multiple bottles in the past years....for me it's a 'happy carefree summertime' scent. But sadly it doens't last so well on me, only a few hours with minimal sillage. I tried the perfume parlour dupe to see if it would last better, but it doesn't smell the same at all :S.

KylieBooFace

I like both simple and complex scents. This falls under the "complex" category by far. I was expecting a fruity-gourmand ball of sugar, but it somehow reminds me of men's cologne. It's not bad and feels sweet and clean with a touch of earthiness. My brain is still in the process of figuring it out. Maybe it would smell better on my boyfriend?

justchillinxo

Smells like ocean scented products.

Innocent is not quite as innocent as others may have you think. It is true that Innocent is very similar to classic Angel without the polarizing patchouli. But if you think that the only thing that makes Angel skanky, you are mistaken. What both Angel and Innocent have in common is not simply some lighter, mouthwatering edible notes, its the effect of slightly... overripe... fruits. Almost like an overripe melon type of smell. They are not entirely fresh, or dainty, or girly, because of the distinct ripeness to them. So, while Angel does not hide its nature, its bombastic patch covers some of this nuance. Innocent, on the other hand, has nothing to hide behind. Of course, Innocent is toned down, and many will overlook this touch of skank, so perhaps she will not be held guilty as Angel has.

Some more practical notes on notes: I smell a lot of juicy citrus (sweet mandarin and sour lime) and non-syruppy currant when freshly sprayed. It works far better than some teeny-bopper scents with the same note layout as it does not feel as girlish, but if you love Juicy Couture this would still work for you. The drydown loses some of the citrus freshness, and the praline steps forward more. There is a defined chocolate-musk character to the praline, as well as a touch of sweet cedar. It certainly smells like a (mostly) declawed Angel with all the luscious ripe fruits, but none of the dirty patchouli, garnished with a warm, sweet, skin musk. As with most Mugler offerings, this simple and straightforward combination of notes seems to have quite a bit of depth underneath to keep the scent interesting.

Every once in a while, Innocent ends up on the chopping block to be sold or swapped. You can't blame me; Innocent is naturally going to be vetted according to the standard set by the grandiose Angel, in addition to Angel Glamorama, Angel Rose, and Liqueur, which are even bigger and stronger. Of course, I always test before making the choice to get rid of a scent. Despite the unassuming notes and more conventional bottle, Innocent does not disappoint. It is just as potent as modern EDP Angel and has an extra whiff of cedar, substituted for patchouli, which makes Innocent a bit easier to wear. Despite being an EDT, I can only handle one spray. In contrast to prior reviews, I find that Innocent does smell very Mugler, albeit without the shock-value of most of the pillar fragrances. Innocent is quieter and takes a few wearing to figure out.

chiva

This smells like Christmas punch on my skin. The scent of black currant and red berries stands out.

Princess

Indeed, this is really Innocent:) Beautiful, much lighter version of Angel, it wont offend anyone:)

AHeartLikeMine

Starts off SWEET, like body spray sweet. This smells like a teen's perfume to me. This definitely does NOT smell like Angel EDT. I would never even know this was a Mugler creation. Something about it DOES smell familiar to me, though. I think this was definitely used as a base when creating the new Croisiere (that seems to be a combination of this plus tropical fruits on a light patchouli base).

Rose du soir

Evanescent summery mandarin gets quickly replaced by the most delicious musky red currant, with nutty vanilla in the background. The masculine-feminine base seems made of musk with a bit of vetiver. Innocent has many notes in common with Angel, they're definitely related, and yet it's not the same. It's balanced and subtle. No sugar overdose. No brutal patchouli at all. It's so soft and inoffensive that it can be worn year round and even at work. It's sad it doesn't stay long on skin, but it has a good longevity on clothes, and the scent is even better like this... Wonderfully addictive ! One of my all-time favourites. It's a true Mugler, original and unique but with nothing sugary, overpowering or offensive. A Mugler everyone can love. It's so soft, comforting, heavenly... Like an angel !

WallaceGrover

I usually don't like cleaner "soapy" scents but Innocent really changed my perspective on the subject.

It's a buttery, sweet, soft and soapy fragrance to my nose. It's so pleasant and nonoffensive ("Innocent" indeed) that I have a hard time imagining anybody being offended by it. Funny enough, so many reviews mention the red berry and fruity notes but those are nearly undetectable to me. A really nice scent for early spring IMO.

The only downside is performance. Innocent quickly becomes a skin scent within an hour or two and dies out completely after four or so hours. Even on clothes its longevity is weak.

Still a beautiful fragrance.

Florence27

Paradise in a bottle!
This is one of the best perfumes ever created!
It reminds me of crystal clear beaches, heavenly waterfalls, turquoise waters.
It's definitely a summer scent.
It's fresh and has just the right amount of sweetness. The praline smells amazing and it blends wonderfully with bergamot, mandarin and white musk.
The only downside is the staying power, it disappears within 1-2 hours.

saltwaterhappy

She is a sweet and shy girl with blue eyes. Smells very clean and airy. It's a happy fragrance. Inoffensive. If it was a song it would be Air - Cherry Blossom Girl.

I like dirty smells more so it's not for me.

ealaf.selim

This smells really nice sprayed on my pillows and sheets. Sweet but airy, fresh, and clean. Floral but not sharp. It smells horrible on my skin though, I can't wear it. Not sure which note causes the problem...

louiee

Angel has a quiet but beautiful little sister. She` s Innocent !
Mugler has surprised me so many times... over and over I find the most beautiful scents amongst his...
This one is not an exception.
A lovely gem !
Blackcurrant for starters, beautiful praline in the bottom.
For me this is the best dry down ever ! Words cant explain, a must try...
So fresh, so unique and so fluffy.
A little piece of heaven.
Has some Angel DNA, but so much more subtle, less noisy, less messy and far more gentle.
Femininity, ease and innocense in a beautiful bottle.
I love you Innocent. Will wear you often from now on.
Silage is moderate, longevity is above average.
One of my favorite Muglers.

PricklyAndHot

Red berries, black currant, praline, almond... It could be so gourmand. But in fact there is nothing catchy.

bartenderbabe

This fragrance is an unsung masterpiece. She is the beloved young princess of the Mugler kingdom who spends her days eating marzipan covered berries and Turkish delight, and her evenings being bathed in vanilla scented bubbles before being powdered and put to bed. There is an ease to this scent that you won’t find in the complicated neuroses of her cousin Angel, or the flamboyant antics of her sister Alien, but her composition is indisputable quality Mugler. She is timeless, precious, and beautiful.

brigitten

I am glad it's still available here and there. I remember it has sweet and gentle scent, like a puffy cloudy essence. This perfume probably comes closer to angel and heaven description than original. It's diplomatic and peacemaker in Mugler's perfume family. Besides significant aquatic notes, it has soft musky sugary almonds. It smells more gourmand than anything from Mugler.

Gourmandlover

This smells like a lighter version of angel sucree to me. The crispy sweet berries with some depth from the praline and almonds but without the patchouli. Very lovely, but I think I'll stick to my angel sucree for better performance.

justfloral

It smells like my grandma's red currant syrup.
Overly sweet red currant syrup + rusted jar cover (metal note)

Angelicax1

This is a really nice, honeyed, powdery almond scent. I honestly can’t smell much fruit in this. It’s very soft and wearable and I think it could work all year round but I would probably like it best on a cool, spring day as a casual everyday scent. I particularly enjoy wearing this one after the bath at night because it seems to envelop you in a soft, powdery, fluffy cloud and adds a gentle comforting/clean feeling. My only complaint is that I wish it projected more. It stays very close to the skin and I really can’t smell it very well unless I stick my nose right up to it. It would work really nicely for those days when you don’t want to be heavily perfumed but you still want to smell nice.

craftymaya

Well, I like it a lot! It is fresh, clean and sweet at the same time. Reminds me of Liberty Fizz by Nina Ricci which I miss dearly. Same vibe, same freshness and clean smell. Love it!

candyfluff

This is a lovely chocolate musk which also manages to smell fresh and clean perhaps due to the almonds which creates a marzipan aroma. Very easy to wear no one could be offended by it so safe for the office - very comforting.

Mimosa.Sensitiva

Innocent really holds its name proudly as this is a citrusy, sweet, cheerful fragrance.
I am not sure why so many reviewers have likened this to Angel eau de toilette as Innocent is definitely part of another category.
Both myself and my mum are Thierry Mugler perfumes fans and we both love this perfume.
This is a happy summer fragrance and the longevity and the sillage are also there.
Why has it been discontinued in shops? Anyway, it is still available on TM’s website and at the duty free shops.

Jola 72

I really adore Angel , but this one is at least I like of all Mugler`s . Too dry and never rich enough to like for me

adice

"Industrial clean" category for sure but balanced by sweet notes. I actually would love if they made dryer sheets with scent. Love the drydown, it's just so much better than skin - sweet and fuzzy. It does veer a teeny tiny bit masculine (but I'd say still in the realm of unisex) in the dry down, I notice it after about 4-5 hours, but I actually think the scent at that point is sweeter and more sexy than the fresher/clean scent in the opening. For daytime or the office, has decent lasting power 6-8 hrs, last couple hours sits pretty close to the skin. I generally am not really into "clean musks" but this one works.

Edit: One of the very few bottles that I have obsessively bought a back-up bottle.

Nuitdenoel

I am testing this today from a sample the Mugler sent with my order of Angel Muse. I am a true Angel addict. In that vein, I am a little surprised at Innocent. It veers woody on my skin and reminds me of my husband's cologne. As with all Mugler fragrances, I'm going to keep trying this because first impressions are not always accurate.

Soofiya

I didn't have high hopes to come back and write a second review but here I am!
My sister gifted me body powder of TM innocent and I liked it's smell on my skin.I can explain it as musky redberries, something tart and clean with a hint of sweetness.I decided to go back to my perfume and wear it for at least three days
It's difficult to believe my cruel previous review!
I still can see it as an angel family member and I still believe there's patchouli in it.a hint of non dirty patchouli and I still can't detect amber or almond.not really.but there's something like nutty dark chocolate with a delicate hint of sweetness(praline on a diet?)blended with something patchouli-like(this accord stands as angel gene to me)
Biggest difference is in that point:now I enjoy it!maybe because lately I'm craving for clean/soapy/musky scents and innocent has a place in this group but is very different from usual clean scents.it's not a Musky floral as they usually are.it's a Musky fruity scent with a hint of nutty chocolate to keep it intresting and something woody/patchouli which blended with tartness of berries gives a masculine vibe to innocent,I find this masculine edge very charming and unique
It opens citrusy, fruity with mandarin, red berries and what I refer to as angel gene(chocolatey woody patchouli) but just a hint of tamed angel gene which has very small amount of sweetness.mandarin fades but sour redberries still as the most prominent note all through it's life.dry down is a combination of sour redberries, slightly sweet patchouli, nutty dark chocolate and clean musk, even if there's no patchouli in it and we consider it as nose tricks
this berry, chocolate, musk combo is very unique and not your typical clean scent.unlike my first review I see it as an intresting fragrance now
I'd definitely enjoy it more if it was sweeter or if I could detect powdery almonds but I'm sure even as it is I'll crave it sometimes
It's out of my comfort zone.redberries are too sour for my taste but they give innocent very fresh fruity sparks and are exactly what makes it something memorable
I almost disliked it.now I like it and who knows,I may love it some day
Sillage isn't as big as original angel, still it's very good as a fresh scent
I'm totally impressed.this made me believe in more in mugler perfumes
p.s:I don't see it as an innocent scent.yes it's very innocent comparing to original angel but as an individual perfume it has it's own naughty twists and complexitys
❤❤❤❤

Dorange Sense

Oooh this is interesting. Me, a Thierry Mugler wearing? Incredible, I would have never guessed.

As I am patchouli hater through and through (the only patch I can handle is in the lovely mix of gucci rush),
I hesitated to spray this on me as I was afraid TM smuggled this dirty lady in here. But no. No P no atch.

The most comforting sweetness I sensed. Soapy sour, slightly minty. I disagree on the strong presence of a praline. It is more a natural sweetness as coming from a candied almond, just so much that I can handle it. Simply because everytime it comes up, the foam of liquid soap washes it away only till the sweetness wants to rise again. On and on. It is like a game between them, a gentle one, like a slow whip.

The sourness is – whoowee – like in my beloved Le Parfum Max Mara. Strong but soft with a hint of more like I don't know… tobacco? No I am tripping, is it a hologram of nutmeg? I think I just went crazy, this sourness is vivid like caleidoscope.

Very versatile for any season, reason and time. Very lady head high but (velvet) slippers on the mat. Applause to Innocent, I will find you and buy you out of stock.

EDIT: Ok, in warm weather it is too sweet for a non sweet lover

Soofiya

I bought innocent with lots of hopes.I thought this is going to turn to my most beloved angel.praline, almond, musk,an angel with an innocent character and clean undertone?looks amazing
But nope.it opens with juicy, tart red berries,I'm waiting for it to develop to a sweet, clean scent but all I get is patchouli, let's be more specific, all I get is angel DNA with much milder sweetness+tart redberries
It was "angel innocent" at first place, then they changed it to just "innocent". Wrong decision I say.I can say it's an angel flanker even with close eyes
I had a sample of angel edt long ago.I can't remember it's scent cleary but I can remember it had a lot in common with innocent, those days I hated angel edp yet I found it more intresting than edt,I feel the same about innocent but with a little difference, lack of charm isn't only problem of innocent.it doesn't even smell good.at least not to my nose
Ofcourse it's the first time I'm wearing it so it may grow on me.I really hope for it since I don't find anything nice in it.it's drydown is the worst part.pathouli plus a hint of clean musk.there's no trace of angel's usual sweetness not even redberries tart juicy taste.it's simply tasteless, soulless musky patchouli.a neutral unisex scent.I bought my 1.7oz bottle for 33$ so it's not a big deal;yet I wish I had pick up 25mil bottle because even that one would last forever for me
It seems to be a longlasting one.I applied it six hours ago and it's still easy to smell but it doesn't have angel's amazing sillage.this can be a fall scent in my book
Gonna edit it if anything changes, for now it's something between meh and dislike
❤❤

iamoir

The only problem with Innocent is the longevity and sillage. Otherwise it's one of the most interesting perfumes i ve tested.

As i read other's reviews and checked the notes in Fragrantica I'm starting to think that maybe the scent "turns" on me. Still I really like it. Haven't yet smelled anything like it.

It does open with mandarin orange and bergamot. It's sour and quickly black currant and berry take over. Almond, praline and amber DO NOT develop. For the first one hour it's very fresh, so fresh and clean, not sweet at all. The next three hours that it will last on the skin, it turns peppery, herbal, reminds me of the cannabis in Florabotanica, earthy and bitter. Praline and almond for sure cannot smell like that; maybe amber?I doubt it. Maybe reformulation happened.

Not Innocent at all...

Camerynn

Ok I'm a newbie to notes, so my review will be simple.

I liked this very much at first spray, but after settling on my arm, it decided to become a strange combination of animal and citrus.

It's a light fragrance, not terrible...but I'm not digging it on my skin

Madrona

Very similar to what I remember Angel EdT being, but even fruitier and lighter. Angel with all the base and heart notes shaved off. You can think what you want about Mugler perfumes, but they are unique and instantly recognizable. I admire that.

Agafia

I recieved a sample of Angel Innocent as a gift, and for me it smells like a distant cousin of...Prada Infusion D'iris edt! It's not similar to original Angel. It's fruity and ambery in the beginning, but the drydown is very powdery and soapy, soft like a bubble bath. Smells like iris or white musk. Very interesting fresh fragrance. :)

Jacquelyn1

Once again, just like Angel, the urine smell at first spray. It smells very close to Angel to start. After about 5 mins, it becomes a little spicy and I notice the amber. Later it becomes more sweet (the fruitiness?) and powdery, but not cloying. Its not my type of fragrance, so I wouldn't wear it, but it isn't bad.
@Kohla1, your post made me laugh out loud!

Kohla1

UGH!! I am seriously starting to get angry with my skin chemistry. All my TM's are starting to smell like pickles on me. I thought it was just my bottles but nope, tried them at the store, same effect. This makes me smell like a spicy pickle.

balihar5

I loved this perfume, it was so different and stood out in a good way. Its so true how fragrance is tied to memory as this one reminds me of when my kids were babies when I got it as a gift. It will always hold a special place for me.

Germany

Review below , it's just really hard to get ,it's not widely available but it's not discontinued. Thank god. I love it also. The Hudson Bay actually still carries it. Biggest department store here in Canada. But most locations only have it online. Bigger cities like TO sell it In store still. But I think it doesn't come with all its creams and pleasures anymore. Only the two sizes of sprayes. Try Hudson Bay online.
And if you are from USA then you can get it at muglerusa online.

Christie-Jack

My preferred choice and so disappointed that it was discontinued!!

It was 'innocent' and quite soapy which appealed highly to me!!!

Loved it

lastcenturymodern

I yanked the lid off the cheap gift-set package and it released this fantastic smell that immediately made me think of Mean Girls. As a non-American, Innocent is how I imagine clean, pretty, and kind of bratty hair-flipping girls all smell like in the US. A mixture of nice body soap, some anonymous sweetish perfume, and maybe the smell of the scented candles in their rooms.
This is one of those pseudo-gourmands that's as clean as it is sweet. I would probably place it alongside perfumes like Candy l'eau , Addict edt, Place Vendome--you get the picture. Sure, it's no Angel, and sure it's nothing to write home about, but like most Mugler perfumes, it's got that extra something that others in this category lack; it's good enough that if you smelled it on the street, it would make you stop for a second. As far as clean and sweet perfumes go, I would say Innocent is in the very top league.
I do get pine in the top notes but it disappears as quickly as that first massive irresistible hit of patchouli in Angel (I certainly wouldn't mind if they both lasted longer) and beyond that, there's little evolution. You get some juicy citrus, and then some fruity tartness, some sweetness, some white musk, and if you smell closely, some nuttiness as well. I don't find it particularly creamy because neither the praline nor the almonds are obvious to me. It's all anonymously sweet and clean smelling--fresh, dewy, smooth--and while perfectly pleasant, it never becomes boring.
It's actually kind of depressing to think that this came out in 1998, and designers today are still launching perfumes that have the same basic idea (clean, fruity, sweet) but are nowhere near as good.

Stacierew

I'm always fascinated by Mugler's creations, even if I am not crazy about the scent. Recently revisited Innocent, just out of curiousity. The sample that I tried was very soapy. It reminded me of angel body wash. Not impressed. Though it did smells clean and angelesque. I think I just lean more towards the dirty patch notes.

allie kat

EDIT 03/02/22......I can't believe I thought this was a skin scent. I still wear it now and always have a backup bottle. I love it ❤️
I owned this about 10 years ago and wore it when I thought Angel would be too much. Back then it was even called Angel Innocent as stated on the label underneath one of the bottles I owned. It is a beautiful light scent, perfect for bright spring days as it doesn't have the patchouli like Angel. I was so happy to find it on Allbeauty as it hasn't been available here for years and TM won't ship to Ireland. I waited anxiously for it's arrival only to find it no longer has the same longevity or sillage on me as it used to. I still love it though but probably won't get another as reapplying every hour is a nuisance tbh. For anyone looking for the most beautiful skin scent ever this is a must buy.

Edemay

Was looking forward to trying this but unfortunately
i found it a tad synthetic pine smelling.
I only tried it on paper though, possibly could find it nicer on my skin

Germany

This is one of my favourites ! It's sweet, clean fruity and warm .
It's like the cuddly clean version of angel. More like the EDT but instead of patchouli angel innocent contains more musk.
Innocent is quite a good name for it. I love how it's clean and sweet and fruity and warm all at the same time. The Musc in the base instead if the patchouli makes this so easier to wear. So different from anything. But very likeable and non offensive at the same time. I only wish it was still more widely available. It use to be at the stores with all its creams and oils and body washes. But now I can only get the 75ml at the Bay online. That's the only drawback.
Please Mugler bring this back. It is one of your best creations !

truffles

I mainly get 'floral' and a green, sap-like scent - like maybe fresh cut daisy or dandelion stalks - from this? I'm surprised to read the listed notes above.
Maybe a very light something vanilla-ish underneath.
As a whole, Innocent reminds me slightly of the discontinued Alchimie by Rochas, but that might just be because I'm a relative newcomer to the gourmand 'genre', usually steeping in the chypres.

Silvery

It's pure Christmas for me. Pine is not on the list of ingredients, but it definitely smells like. An icy pine forest comes to my mind when I sniff it, along with a little fruityness, a kind of sensation, when there are orange-peel placed on the radiator. I'm definitely going to wear this perfume under The Tree :)) After asking for it as a present ;)

jan17

Praline fallen from heaven in the form of perfume, here we have the romantic and delicate sister and virgin of the family Angel, because he has an amazing purity, but do not be fooled by the power of seduction of this young woman, she's so malicious and mischievous as her sister older! fixing | 6 hours Projection | 3 hours / 5 (flush skin)

lilymorena

I tested it on paper, on my skin, side by side with Angel and side by side with Eau Sucree. Innocent is feminine, soft, sweet without yelling sweetness, fresh and mature scent. The first minute it smells like Angel but it gets another direction. It turns stronger and believe me, flowers with praline dominating the hole composition (I don't see flowers in the notes). I thought this was a skin scent but I was wrong. I sat in an office 3 meters away from the door. People who walked at the corridor kept sniffing the air and asking what smelled so wonderful. Some colleages tryed even to follow the trail "to heaven". Some asked: "I know this... is this Angel?". I asked some co workers and patients what they thought about it and they love it too. This was my most complimented fragance ever, from young to olderly (age from 20 till 85). Amazing.

Zebrias83

Definitely try before you buy!! On my co-worker, this smells heavenly. I purposefully walk past her desk several times a day just to catch a whiff. :D On her, this perfume is warm, creamy, musky and a bit sweet. I ran off to my nearest Thierry Mugler stockist to pick up a bottle, but I quickly changed my mind after smelling the top notes on my skin. I get an overwhelming blast of pine needles, as several other people here have experienced. Sadly, I do not enjoy smelling like an evergreen forest. I've tried the perfume several times, hoping it was just a fluke, but time and time again I get that blast of pine and it never settles down. Such a shame, because this perfume smells so lovely on my co-worker. :(

pixiewinks

Super light, immediately thought roses.....now its fruity floral. Pretty but way too subtle for me
Scent: 7
packaging: 7

ferencz.tunde1

This is the perfect mix of the Angel and Womanity! :D

TrailerTrashPrincess

haven't ever been tempted by this, but i got a sample of it recently so i gave it a go today.

first thought: my mom would probably like this (early 60s, loves powdery-soft scents like Cherry Blossom from Bath & Body Works).

there's a woody note (similar to cedar or pencil shavings) that is reminding me of the Angel EDT (which i can't stand).

it's so soft and nonoffensive. kinda like a nice soap.

so i'll pass on this one. i'll eventually finish the sample, but that's it.

Kohla1

At first I thought that this was going to be a scrubber but I decided to wait and see. Now I really like it. Glad I gave it a chance before scrubbing it off.

perfumeproblem777

This is so interesting! If you smelled this and Angel side by side, you would have no idea that these were in the same house. Innocent is quite fruity and sweet, and has a very bright base on my skin that almost smells of pine trees. It's very clean and refreshing, quite transparent. Sillage seems quite moderate compared to other TM creations. But that's okay with me, I would rather have a scent that sits closer to the skin. I think I may have to invest in a larger size package, since I have a small sample.size right now.
Keep shining, you beautiful people!

Sierrasaurusrex

If ice had a scent this would be it. I have the pointy shaped purse spray, the scent matches it so well it's like an icicle. I'm getting some soapy evergreen note it's almost minty. The original Angel is the cozy sweater and this is the icy winter. I feel like I just ate a mint or brushed my teeth when I smell this it's so fresh. It's very strong though, I have one spritz on my wrist and its almost too much. I love it yet want to wash it off at the same time. I'm on the fence on this one.

b.a.denney

I just got this, but I'm not sure about it. It's sweet, yes, but there is some note in it that I'm not in love with. I bought this as a half full bottle for only $5.00, so I'm definitely not out much. The bottle itself is super pretty though. I love the star on the cap, and the blue color of the perfume.

I love gourmand, and sweet scents, especially if they have almond, so I'd love to discover the note I find troublesome in this. I think as the day goes on, I tend to like it better. It almost has a medicinal smell at first spray, and I think that is what I'm finding off putting......

If you are paying full price, definitely try before you buy, because I thought I'd love this, and somehow, it's more of a miss for me.

shancat

Just got Innocent edp in mail...I got a sample of Angel years ago and loved it so I bought a bottle...I've gone back and forth between love and like w/that fragrance and am giving this a try...at first I smelled citrus then berries then praline, I think...the notes blend nicely, like a good perfume should. Somewhere in the middle I get a sense of Angel but then it ends in something nice and clean and soft...it has a sweetness about it but not sickly and it doesn't have that "armpit" smell that I detect sometimes in Angel...I have no idea how they got that note...
I really like this fragrance and am going to enjoy...got a compliment already...ok it was from my husband but it still counts.

Nikkafragrance

This is the only Mugler I can wear so far! It has nothing in common with Angel and it's very wearable and chic.

DAL123

This is really nice! Its a user friendly Thierry Mugler...lol. There is nothing reminiscent of Angel in this. At least not as far as my nose can tell. And I can sniff out Angel a mile away. This is much softer. Very musky and sweet on my skin. I get berries in the initial spritz. Very light and sweet but not candy sweet. Once that settles I get a wonderful musky sweet praline smell that I am loving. And not a smidgen of patchouli to be found!! :) Projection is minimal...is just a bit more than a skin scent on me. This is a pretty safe scent, especially for TM.....

VanillaTabbyCat1963

Is this like Angel without the annoying killer patch accord?

StopHammertime

On me, this smells like Angel but wearable. There is a body cream of Angel, and I love the smell of that better than the perfume - that is what this smells like. Light, airy, fruity, clean, with the familiar Angel in the background. Unfortunately, I have the same allergic reaction to Innocent that I do to Angel. Unfortunate, because it is really nice.

MartaL

As much as I want to love Innocent Thierry Mugler I am afraid that it is not gonna happen. I find it heavy, overpowering, and on top of that uncomfortably sweet. Can't imagine fragrances containing chocolate or nuts ever work for me. Maybe, one day.

WildDove

I'm a big fan of Innocent ever since it was introduced. I know all the official notes, but Innocent smells like Halloween candy to me overall. I like it any time of year, but especially in October and November. It seems to get men's attention quite a bit.

TaniaClamp

Innocent is young and innocent.... with a sweet & clean note to it. I also get a green note as well. Acually a very fresh candy citrus chocolaty scent that's very easy to wear :)

First note when it's applied is citrus followed by praline, cherry and black currant. When it settles down it's more musky with a hint of almond, praline and bergamot.

It do have some similarity to Angel EdT but it doesn't smell like it. I loooooove Angel EdT and like Innocent.
Anyway.... a beautiful fragrance :) cleaner more citrusy, less sharp and minus patchouli kind of Angel.

foxy_princess

yummy citrus dewy but sweet and warm fragrance. i will be heartbroken if this ever goes off the thierry mugler website, this is without a doubt my favourite thierry mugler fragrance, as i feel as though his other fragrances are too outrageous for me so this one fits me perfectly

Glassflower

Innocent is gorgeous. I too have Angel which I love but this is lighter. I wear this almost everyday. Angel is something I save for special occasions. I think this has a bit more floral to it although I do not see it in the notes. I find it more romantic and approachable than Angel. I get tons of compliments too.

jovejove

If there's anyone in Canada that loves this fragrance, the bay in Toronto at the eaton center has it again! I missed my baby :)

I took my baby son for a walk with 2 sprays of Innocent in my hair. It was cold, bright autumn morning. You know that smell of wind and yellow leaves on sidewalk... and above it all touch of Innocent. Gentle, comforting, yet strong. Perfect for a love date but also perfect for tired mother who wants to feel pretty.

Bublegum

This is the signature scent of one of my best friends. The strange thing is that whenever she is wearing this and I am wearing Angel, everyone thinks that we are wearing the same perfume. To my nose it is also smelling like a lighter Angel version. So either the perfume indeed smells like a lighter Angel version, either it is projecting more on her or Angel projects less on me. But, the similarities are too obvious in my opinion. In any case, she was getting a lot of compliments about it. And if you like Angel you will also like that and if you think that Angel is too loud, give this a try!

Centsless

The more I wear Innocent, the more I like it. It is unique because it is a fresh and soapy feeling gourmand, I wouldn't expect anything less than the unexpected from TM!

SexyJasmine

I love this scent. It's creamy and buttery and soft, but not soft in terms of scent strenghth. I mean soft in texture like warm melted caramel. It makes me feel comfortable like a soft sweater on a chilly day. I can tell that it is related to Angel but it's much easier to wear.

chix

This is a soft, soapy praline scent with an almost mint like coolness that is refreshing for warmer weather. Longevity & sillage are moderate.

nitschevo

As everyone's said before - this is a truly lighter version of Angel. But I don't consider this oriental vanilla - more a fruity vanilla if such thing exists! :)

Schnuppernase

I don't know what it is about Thierry Mugler's Innocent, but I always come back buying it. It is uplifting and sparkly but still deliciously sweet - it is so lively to me! Even when it dries down after a few hours it still smells lively on me.

Innocent's sweetness is "expensive" smelling, not that sugary-girly kind of sweetness. It has a lot of depth to it. Together with the sparkly, fresh berries and juicy oranges it creates such an unique fragrance which is truly addictive.

The quality is (just like all Thierry Mugler perfumes) excellent, I spray it once on my neck and I am done.

Phantosmia Bella

I bought the refill bottle ages ago. This was the sweetest perfume I've ever dared to own.

I remember having a hard time wearing it, being so wary of sweet scents, but I really loved it. It was gourmand in a very good, well-concocted and balanced way.

You can feel the sweet red fruit and a great deal of yummy pralines, and yes, there's some amber and musk heaviness in it.

I never felt really in my skin with this one, but I feel that I should give it another shot (it's been more than 15 years, after all...).
Maybe I've grown into it :)

Anyway, this has very long longevity and excellent sillage.

Aeris

The original Angel fragrance is like the strong warrior angel Michael in the Apocolypse. This "Innocent" fragrance is more like a soft, innocent baby Cherub angel lol. That analogy pretty much summarizes it.
Both are Angels, just different kinds.

Aeris

I love this scent. It's like Angel's little sister. She's sweet and, well, innocent (not according to the ad though. Look up the commercial on YouTube!). Its not a watered down Angel though She has her own personality. Lots of paraline and red berries ....and no patchouli (a refreshing change). I've received some complements....except for today. Someone said I smell like playdough?

KATERINA LABROPOULOU

They say that this magnificent perfume was made in 1998?? Really because is one the most modern and unique perfumes I have ever smelled. The summers will be more optimistic with this smell which keeps growing and growing during the hot days. It is so unusual and one of my favorite ones of "TM". It is long lasting yet very promising, you can not imagine the feeling when you put it on. On clothes must stay for days. I love it. I don't know why I waited so long to try this gem!!!

pravda48

Jenika's review below is beautiful and describes my thoughts almost exactly at the opening 15 mins of this perfume.

Lovely. Not at ALL what I expected due to 'praline' being the first note! In other words this is NOT the same brand of 'praline' note found in La Vie Est Belle etc. This is just a sprinkling of nutty sweet goodness over the top of a bowl of sun ripened black currant and red berries.

Yummy, juicy, sweet. Great (non mainstream) smelling berry scent, since black currant is not the most common berry to be the most obvious note in a(non-niche) fragrance!

I really really like it so far. Blind swap win! =D

EDIT: about an hour in I get a LOT more of the white musk from the base. Interested to ask friends what the initial note they get from a distance is. Will update.

...and in the end it became much too much on the musky side of things for me. Somehow the bergamot surfaced more than ever later and the white musk got screechier vs smoother on me as time went by. If only that opening could stay! I'm not a fan past that point.

lyciumchld

The musk in this is intensive on my skin, leading me to wonder if perhaps its title is somewhat tongue in cheek. I smell the candied enthusiasm of youth, but also the budding knowledge of discovery. This is not virginal innocence, but the knowing innocence that a young woman acquires in the years before her naivete disappears. It's nostalgic, sensual, cuddly, lighthearted, and romantic. I like it.

musi1701

Fast wie Angel ,aber etwas frischer. Gute Langlebigkeit! Fein!

Soutty123

This fragrance is just like opening the front door on a frosty morning. The crispness and cleaness of it almost takes your breath away. However, it's not a freshness that really works in summer for me. I like to wear it on bright cold mornings, that's when it really shines for me.

ledavis727

Bravo, Mr. Mugler.. This is the kind of fragrance that I just cannot get enough of. So sweet, sexy, musky, creamy.. Delicious. On me, I get succulent red berries and wonderfully sweet praline from start to finish, with just enough musk to pull it together. It's so different from anything I have ever smelled, and something about it just makes me keep going back to it again and again. Nothing like Angel at all, it is a completely different breed. Ultra feminine yet girlishly sweet and... Innocent.

sunnyinphilly

Why so many people are comparing Innocent with Angel?
There is nothing between them except the star on the top of the cap!
Angel is very harsh in comparison with Innocent which is soapy, soft and feminine.

Come on people, be more creative :)

Arlene-Beatrix

First notes are quite strong woodsy on my skin, but then it develops very nicely into half sweet half nutty fragrance. Also, berries are intensive. All in all, pleasant scent for winter.

Update: I can smell too much almond. What a shame!

Jillzilla

This is a little peppery on me to start (which I can't understand) and quickly becomes sweeter, but also very soapy and slightly sharp. I guess I don't have the best chemistry for it!

scentlover7777

I am a huge fan of this fragrance. It is the perfect combination of sweet and sultry. It is not overpowering and I only need a couple of sprays to last me all day. I like that it has musk in it, but it's not so strong that it's bothersome to others. I personally find Angel to be too much, so this is a nice, softer alternative. I don't own anything else that smells quite like Innocent. I am a sucker for unique fragrances. I like to smell original and not like everyone else. You know what I mean - that sickly sweet, cotton candy smell that is in so many fragrances nowadays. I also have the Innocent body lotion and it is very nice as well. I am so happy I decided to give this a try!

Ingapetra

I loved this perfume when I had it. I bought it in Paris in around 2003 and then I discovered Lolita Lempicka and its been the love of my life since.
Every perfume brings back memories and Innocent for me its all about independent young woman living in London and traveling for the weekend to Paris to see someone special....
Original Angel is too strong for me and Innocent was perfect.
I would need to test again to write a full review.

Member007

I am kind of woman who treats Angel as her generation classic. I can't stand anything sweet as food but Mugler's creations are nothing like that, they smell sexy and as perfume, not plain candy or chocolate. They have complicated character. To say truth Innocent balances on the edge of my likes/dislikes and i still prefer woody Angel more. But there's emotional background in every perfume i have used. I connect Innocent with rebel time of life while i was office worker and all ladies around used only Dior/Chanel, sprayed in air Miss Dior Cherie or Light Blue. I felt sooo original! :D
I wouldn't call it feminine, because there's something unisex in it. I would recommend it to woman who is interested in more sophisticated gourmands and wishes to be noticed.

LenaBrasil

I definitely smell sweet passion fruit. Don't you???

No True Scotsman

Definitely Angel's younger less made-up sister.
This used to be my signature scent going into the noughties when I was in my very early twenties. I was a bubbly young, voluptuous blonde who enjoyed everything sparkly, and I thought this scent matched my looks and personality very well at the time. I don't mind the smell now still, but wouldn't use it anymore myself. Partly because I don't think it's as good a match for me in my early thirties, being less bubbly, less sparkly, slightly less voluptuous and dare I say it a lot less innocent. Partly because I used it so often back then it's lost its interesting qualities I used to think it had.
I would certainly recommend this for young women in their twenties and late teens who have a fair bit of confidence and love fun. And also love very sweet fragrances. It's an excellent gateway perfume to the real heavy-hitters.

miss misty

This is Angel without the heavy make up and the showy clubbing outfit.

Innocent is like fluffing your pillow on a sunny morning. The sky is blue, the air still fresh. Infused with the smell of candied fruits and chocolate goodies on your nightstand. Their scent puts a smile on your face and you take the time to just watch the passing white clouds as you did in your childhood.

In a pair of comfortable blue jeans and a white shirt you leave the house - without make up.

Ashes19

Initially, I get a whiff of cinnamon among the almond, vanilla, and praline. It's such a warm and calming delicious scent. It's distinct but inoffensive- wonderfully different. The staying power is satisfactory and it was a big hit with my fiance. I'm definitely going to have to buy a bottle before winter. I think it's a rather seductive smell, so I personally wouldn't have named it "Innocent." I'm not sure what I would name it though- it reminds me of being home, watching the snow fall while sipping a hot chai tea. It's warm, comforting and friendly, and it's sexy. I'm definitely going to have to check out Angel now.

Edit: After a few hours of wearing this, I get some gorgeous floral notes, which is strange...because there's not supposed to be any. It must be the bergamot or the berries, or my freakish body chemistry, but I swear I get this distinct hit of jasmine and violets. Love it, love it, love it!
Also, the lasting power is quite acceptable. It's not as good as say, Lolita Lempicka, but it stays on skin for a good 4-6 hours and a good 8-12+ on fabric (of course). Sillage is good, about arm's length. It's definitely there, but it's never obnoxious about it.

Update 11-23-13:
So this is my favorite perfume right now, I wear it whenever I can and whenever I wear it, I get compliments. Out of all of his perfumes, this one loves me back and smells like heaven with my body's chemistry. It's beauty in a bottle. It's light enough that it can be worn in the day, but intriguing, sexy and exotic enough that it can be worn at night and for special occasions. I wore it on my wedding day :)

SamaraVier

It´s not sweet and it´s not "innocent"....

dawn.brooks.391

My love affair with Monsieur Mugler continues, and I'm falling harder with each scent I come across, much to my delight, and my wallets dismay lol!
Innocent is such a wonderful fragrance.Sweet, charming,a little coy, definitely playful, and seductive. It starts out very fruity, with the berries and the black currant, which is one of my absolute favorite notes, and it is done wonderfully here.It was the reason I chose this scent, and it does not disappoint.Sweet, fruity, this is the playful side. After a few minutes,30 at the most, the musk and almonds come in,giving it a depth, and adding a soft, seductive note.It does get a bit soapy, but to me,this keeps it from being to sweet, and adds to the allure.
My boyfriend took one whiff, and he was immeadiatly hooked. He said it was sweet, and sexy.Very clean, but seductive and sensual.
The sillage is good, definitely noticeable,as I got many compliments the night I wore this.longevity is moderate as well, about 4 hours, with it becoming a skin scent after that, retaining the sweetness of the pralines, and the sexiness of the musk
I highly recommend this one,if you like sweet but not sickly, fruity without smelling like a fruit cocktail, and musky without being animalic. It would work well in an office setting,or even for date night.Trust me,it's worth a try.

virga

My last bottle of Innocence is almost empty. It’s a beautiful fragrance, very light, but still full of contradictions like most Mugler fragrances: Innocence is bitter sweet (dark chocolate note), but at the same time very clean and cold (musk and pine) and the fruits (red berries mostly) are very subtle. For my nose Inocent has very little resemblance to Angel eau de toilette - the former has an aura of exclusiveness and delicacy while the latter smells like loud and vulgar contemporary gourmand fragrance. The only negative aspect is that Innocence does not stay on my skin for more than 4 hours.

scratchnsniff29

This smells very floral and makes you smell as if you have just jumped out of the shower. Its very fresh and soapy smelling.

StellaDiverFlynn

It's quite gentle compared to other loud fragrances from the same house. I get a lot of fruits at the opening. Berries, oranges, black currants, but oddly they turned out quite masculine. The praline drydown doesn't show up very quickly. It hides underneath and slowly sneaks out after 3 or 4h, not cloying sweet and well blended with fruits. It's a good option for someone who's into gourmand but doesn't get along well with patchouli. The sillage is close compared to other TM perfumes but the longevity is as well as its cousins. Named Innocent, it does seem an innocent scent, but it discretly flirts, beware! LOL.

thazinha30

I own this but I hate it so bad, and I rarely dislike fragrances as I have a very eclectic taste and I can tolerate many different scents and notes. This smells like a bar of soap on me and others too. My bottle is still pretty full so if anyone likes this (as I know a lot o people do!) and is interested in swapping, please send me a message.

Score: 0 out of 5 (sorry Innocent, nothing personal!!!)

laantjebanaantje

This is weird... On first spray I smell some citrus and innocent white flowers. Lily and lily-of-the-valley, no tuberose, jasmine or gardenia. That's odd, of course, since there's nothing floral listed in the notes. I also smell some fruity berries and the praline plays a definite roll, but the flowers are the main theme here.
Then, in less then an hour, this fades to a barely perceivable soapy musk. And then it slowly disappears.
Which is a shame, since i really liked the bright, fresh, dazzling summery top and middle notes. I don't really understand why it would fade so quickly, it is a Mugler after all. And it's not like it was eau de toilette...

UPDATE: But wait! There it is again! With its flowers and berries, the musk fading in the background. And then it disappears again, only to reappear a few minutes later. Very very strange.
Innocent strikes me as the archetype of those very young, modern, popular fruity-floral-layered-on-gourmand-notes perfumes teenagers (and older ofcourse) tend to wear with abandon. Sweet, inoffensive, light and happy. But it has also a hint of that typical Muglerian weirdness. It's not nearly as weird as Cologne, Alien or Womanity, and it is far more wearable and suitable for a larger audience, but it still has that Mugler signature.

zelda1805

To me, this perfume smells like soapy(in a good way) sharp red berries with some kind of nutty /chocolate undertone to it at first. After a several minutes it becomes sweeter and more wearable. It is really strange and unique, which is what drew me to it. Some people I know don't like it and thinks it smells like a grandma, but it is not really offensive or too strong, it is just the smell of it which is an opinion. I wouldn't say it is a fresh scent, but more warm and sweet. It's good to wear in the day and just at home when you want to enjoy it.

nellyrlight

ethereal, clean, fresh...a girlfriend was getting married and i gave her my half used (and loved it too) bottle and she wore it to her wedding..and loved it!

MaddieClfd

I had a 30 ml bottle, I kinda liked it at first, then I started using it less and less. I'm a big Angel fan and Innocent onme is like a watered down version of it. Lighter, a bit 'frutier', I can smell honey too. I just don't like it, it's probably too innocent for me, even though I can pick up some of the original Angel notes. But then - why would I wear this if I can wear its big and better brother.
It's not a bad scent, lots of people like it, lasting power is good. Not so sure about the sillage, I don't think anybody ever commented on this perfume onme. I guess it just wasn't meant to be - i gave my bottle away and I don't miss it.

blue_belle

First of all, this perfume is enormous. It fills a room, at least on me. Second, it smells like honey on me! No other notes, just honey.

Third, neither of those is necessarily a bad thing. This is the only version of Angel I can stand on myself so far.

Jama4

Gentry in a bottle!!!

I purchased this scent for my Mother for her Anniversary. I figured she would like it because it smells like a ligher version of Angel. I think Angel is to strong too wear to the office, but Innocent is office appropriate.

It is definitely sweet and innocent. Sophisticated enough for a grown woman to wear, but fresh and youthful enough that her 16 yr old daughter could also wear it. My younger sister decided that she is into Innocent :-( as well!!!

Projection: 6 feet
Longevity: 8hrs +
Office Safe: No too strong
Potency: HEAVY (1 or 2 sprays is enough)
Timing: all year long / day or night time
Price: $44 (red tag sale) for 50ml 1.69 oz perfume & lotion gift set at Winners / TJ Maxx

Disclamer: my experience may be different from your experience based on skin type, the season, and my personal tastes

addicttoperfume

Its a nice scent but i cant seem to wear it well....it bothers me throughtout the day if i try to wear it...sad because i have the set with the lotion and i dont want them. Anyone up for swap let me kno

pbluberry

I'm not too into TM because I really associate it with heavy patchouli. This I really like, I tasted it out at the store and I really enjoyed this. It's clean and warm at the same time. A bit of sweetness from the vanilla and fresh from the citrus.

bailarina

I put it on my wrist and it smelled O.K. but then there was something I did not like, thankfully it dissapeared in a few minutes, and the scent was very very clean and pleasant, I love it.

Update: When I wore this for the first time there was a weird smell at the beginning, but there was some dry perfume on the lid so I think it was probably because a bit of the perfume was exposed to air. But this is the second time I used it and it smells wonderful from beginning to end.

punkinfaye

A friend gave me a half used bottle of this about 6 years ago because she didn't end up liking it. I put it away because I thought it smelled like grandmas (I didn't get the gourmand thing at the time).

I started wearing this about 6 months ago, when I found that spraying it on my skin it transforms into this warm fuzzy scent.

To me it is sweet in a creamy and powdery way, not in a fruity way. It is perfect on a cold night when you're all snuggled up on the couch, it is soft and comforting.

neciaczerniecki

this is nice, but i guess i have some sort of aversion to one of the ingredients. is light and sweet, but something just overwhelms me after a while. bottle for swap.

lakuota

That is just so so good... Accquaintance with TM scents surprises me in a good way with every new perfume I discover.

"Innocent" definitely smells innocent yet powerful. It captivated me from the very first sniff and I think I got addicted. Sour and sweet chords combine into a perfume that seems fresh and light in the beginning, but after just a moment you recognize the thick and syrupy trail it creates. But it's obviously not the kind of "another-sweet-juice" you gonna forget next day. TM makes its scents memorable.

This frag inspires me and thrills in a positive way, I just love it. Even now, at the moment I am writing this, I get pleasanltly excited. Maybe I'm just into Laurent Bruere's creations (Alien, Amor Amor...), or maybe because for some reason reminds me of my significant other (wonder why, because my relationship with this perfume developed separately from him :D maybe it's just the chemistry...) Well, whatever it is, I should save money for a full bottle.

dinhhamy

very Innocent, lovely, femenino.. love it :)

Sissi

Me and Mr Mugler never gotten along His perfumes are always the same Plastic candy vinyl skankiness like Lady GAGA's panties in a middle of her concert Performance
with Secretions of sweat mixing with sweetness of vanilla, then Something came
unexpected I Received A sample of Thierry Mugler Innocent his numeral Flankers
from a swap from the other site a while back, Anyway i Thought Oh no an another
Plastic fantastic candy rush but boy i was Wrong!.

I Finally tried it and i thought OMG It's about Time that Mr Mugler created Something that i truly Like
It Still had that plastic scent but It's Fresher Due to the Note of Bergamot and
Mandarin Blosson to Add a bit of Crisp Innocent is a Brighter and Movable then
It's Sluggish Opaqueness Cardinal Angel,
Red Berries Gives Innocent a Juicy Boost I love the Interplay with the Note of
Black current making Innocent fuller and succulent.

Vanilla is subtle then his Previous fragrances seems to be Diluted by the by the presence of the Mandarin
and Black Current but it's still isn't out of the Neck of the Woods it's still noticeable The Drydown turns Innocent from Juicy to Gourmand sweet due to Praline
Is this your Typical Tween gourmand not by a Far shot sweet as it is Innocent is far to womanly and Complex to be a Tween scent but nice for your Older 17 year Sister, a gourmand of a young Lady, As innocent nears it's end with the under pinnings of Almond & amber finishes Innocent with a dry nutty Accord.

This is an Angel without the Skank. ;)

brunaa.camargo

The kind of scent that is addictive !
Sweet, comfortable and extremely feminine.Praline, almonds and white musk is a perfect combination.
Inoccent, but don't pass unnoticed !

bobbyferrant

Clean, juicy & sparkling..yet creamy like a lotion. Yummy almonds and pralines, soapy yet spicy coumarin with a woody, musky backdrop. Not very similar to Angel in my book; I find it comforting and inoffensive..used to wear it to yoga class/the gym.

Hippyhop2

I've tried this one. And I like it! It's noticeable, sweet and light at the same time. I must say like some others before that it does remind me of Angel, maybe the notes that makes Angel what it is, are missing in this one, but to me Innocent smells like the younger sister or as you will, the summer version of Angel. Many of you will disagree maybe, but there are many simalarities...

However, Innocent on it's own smells great... powdery sweet praline! It has a nice longevity and projection.

Hayven

Re-review of this:

I find myself reaching for this often to wear for work. It starts off with a clean citrus note, then it dries down to an amber honey with citrus lingering the background. It lasts for a good 6-7 hours on me. I thoroughly enjoy this and although I know I shouldn't wear perfume to my job, patients have said how pleasant I smell--even the ones who are in for stomach issues.

Nirhtuc

OK. I'm officially giving up on the whole Thierry Mugler line. Alien and Angel were both pretty much disasters on me, and this one wasn't much better. I didn't like Innocent's citrus notes and their combination with the other notes just created a chaotic clash of unpleasantness. Not for me!

Longevity: 7 hours
Sillage: soft to moderate

foxy_princess

There's something about this perfume that drives me crazy. It's got a honey/dewy like quality to it. It smells absolutely divine.

firstinthedance

I prefer Angel, and I think it is incorrect to call Innocent a "version" of Angel. Two of Angel's strongest notes are Patchouli and Dark Chocolate. Innocent lacks both and smells nothing like Angel. On me, Innocent opens with lots of berries and black currant. I wasn't wild about it, but I didn't hate it. Eventually the scent changed and the berries became muted - and then I didn't like it at all. I couldn't really pick out the other notes, but the overall effect just didn't do it for me.

agiuliano87

Innocent is quite possibly the most delicious scent ive ever smelled. Everything about it is just wonderful. It smells exactly the same either on paper or my skin. If you haven't tried it at least test it out, its worth it! I was hesitant to try it after disliking Angel for being so strong but this is simply beautiful.

octobersun

I smelled it yesterday - omg, how could forget I how great it is - it is one of the loveliest scents ever made... It is much more vearable and user friendly than the predecessor. Made my haart beat stronger - so sweet, feminine, charming and seductuve. Now I want it so badly.

ArkangeL

The progeny of the controversial, well acquainted and daring Angel. Granted, Innocent is the child of the chocolate-rich bitch that many love to hate... but not to be taken lightly. Innocent Angel inherited the very same supreme quality and incontestable sillage. Effervescent berries, blackcurrant jam, pralines and sugared almonds. Topped with sparkling citruses and dewberry. Though gourmand, Angel is rather moody and makes you think twice about wanting to get close. Innocent however is much more inviting, and entices one to get closer. It's very atmospheric, yet never invades or overwhelms. This review is not a comparison of better or worse, but a highlight of differences, similarities and distinctiveness.

Hayven

I went the opposite route and bought the Innocent Secret flanker before trying the original. I wish I tried the original first instead, because I would have saved myself some money.

Both Angel Innocent and Innocent Secret smell the same; the only difference is Secret starts off with more citrus. I do prefer Innocent as it is softer, creamier, and the amber and praline drydown is yummy. It's not ideal for our super humid weather here, but I imagine in winter it will smell so much better.

bobbyferrant

a cleaner, soapy, musky, sparkling citrus coctail with a hint of praline, distant refined cousin of Angel.

EMonika

Age: 25 EAP!
Skin: normal-oily. Medium brown.
Preferences: Fruity, vanilla, watery, sweet, citrus (Will update)
Perfume nose: amateur
Current season here: winter

best season end of autumn beginning of winter-mid winter
day/night- Day/Evening
the age of the woman who wears it- 21-35
the persona of the woman who wears it seductive, charming, sweet

on my skin it smells similar to angel EDT but the drydown for both are quite different.

the notes appear on my skin as the original pyramid. at first i got an overpowering shocking tangerine peel hit. but now it has dried down i kinda want to keep applying it just for that thrill. i can smell the woodiness of the almond in the middle and the praline in the background. the hint of bergamot keeps flipping in and out and accentuating the berries and currants. amber usually comes off as warmth on my skin but i barely detect its presence.. its what i call a "cool" scent.

The difference in the drydown is this one is much much nicer, the tangerine peel goes into the background and lets the almond, praline, currant, berries, and a hint of spicy bergamot play on top of the musk.. so you really get alot out of this scent, its fresh and cool and can be worn at night.

the woman for this scent IS innocent. she is seductive, sweet and charming without her knowing it. her friends will be like "that guy was so flirting with you" and she wouldnt even know it. this goes well with pastel colours with an allowance for floaty clothing.

melanie

I'm not crazy about vanilla, I know that many are. It's sweetest praline fragrance that I know so far. Strange, blue bottle with this gourmet touch.
Pretty mild, which is not characteristic of Thierry Mugler... besides Alien EdT, Innocent is another scent that I liked. I'm definitely not a Mugler type, this is a rare exception.

Mad-Lainey

I absolutely adore this one!
Whilst Angel EDP was totally repulsive to my nose, Innocent is a heavenly mixture of refreshing fruit slices topped up with nougat and warm, sweet amber.
I've found it very appealing from the very first application till the very drydown. Innocent is seductive, addictive and surprisingly, it works well in all seasons and literally suits any occassion; be it formal work meeting or casual pyjama party :-)
Gorgeous fragrances for ladies of all age and profession; a young, flirty waitress or a mature, smart chief executive.
Silage and lasting power is great; after two morning spritzes the fragrance doesn't need reapplication until late afternoon.
Pricey, but hey, the quality is certainly worth it.

Trinidella

Just as Angel, this fragrance has its crowd. A head turner.

cikcik

Body chemistry matters! l could only smell spicy-citrus when l tried this :( However, angel is great on me :)

perfumeofmia

Innocent EDP is my all time favourite! All I can say: I love it! After Angel I tried Innocent and I 've fallen in love with it:) I hope I can buy it so long. I need it, INNOCENT_is_my_scent :)

sarlouben

i do like the original angel, but cant wear it as it is too strong for me and makes me feel ill. this one i am not sure about, when i first spray this perfume it smells awful, all i can smell is berries and pine, but after 15 minutes it smells entirely different on me, i can still smell berries but also citrus and a very sweet smell. i dont think i will be buying this one again though, i just hope the womanity i ordered smells nice :)

fullbottleworthy

I just got a bottle of this. I used to wear it all the time about 10 years ago and for some reason I got this feeling like I had to have another bottle. I am not disappointed. Granted, there is a little nostalgia there, but I really honestly think this fragrance is amazing! It is sweet and fruity yet much lighter, fresher, and more wearable than any other Thierry Mugler fragrance out there. I also got the Angel EDT but really they are so similar (the only difference really is that the Angel EDT has patchouli) that I returned the Angel EDT. I didn't see the point of having both. I like Innocent better and I have enough patchouli frags and plenty of sampled of the original Angel, so for me, Innocent is the way to go!

vicka16

On me Angel Innocent smells citrusy and a bit powdery, with a touch of masculine shampoo... Weird, but no praline and no sweetness at all. It's a nice perfume, but I'm not blown away by it.

cammellina85

This is definitely Angel without the nasty patchouly note.
I highly recommend Innocent to people like me that appeciate Angel but cannot wear it because it's too cloying.
Innocent is not as strong as Angel but it is still quite strong, consequently, in my opinion it's better to wear it in the wintertime.
Finally, I think that Innocent is very very similar to Angel EDT, but it's easier to find it on sale; as a result, if you find Innocent for a very good price, I would say: "Go for it!!!"
Price: 30 euros for 75 ml EDP

AshDiCar

Mugler perfumes baffle me! I smell nothing but wood - wood and maybe powder but not sweet in any way. I want to love it based on the notes but I just can't. :(

My first scent from T.Mugler.:) INNOCENT. This perfume is not as innocent. It is sweet, mysterious, yet playful. I think men will like. I have to try it today:) And praline in it are very significant. Something in the perfume reminds me of "Amor Amor ".

there's something special and oryginal in it...despite it's simmilar to Angel frag it is much much better and has more freshness!

I love Shalimar, I love Baiser du dragon and Allure so I earned the right to be completely in love with a fabulous well done gummy bear parfum too! Why not? I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS! I guess it reminds me my childhood and the little girl we all have inside!

I really like this version of Angel. It's a very modern perfume that suits me very well. It's assertive without being loud is soft and it's got character. The overall effect is heavenly. This is a scent that has grown on me. I've only worn it a couple of time but it's very long lasting I get whiffs of it and it makes me feel very comfortable. I would say it's a soothing scent. I feel clean too when I wear it. I've always like praline notes in perfume. I cannot always separate or smell the notes listed in perfumes but the overall effect of this note is lovely. At one point it smells very fruity I can almost detect a melon note in there. The body lotion is very good too it's quite powerful and long lasting. I don't like very floral perfumes and this perfume has no floral notes listed which is hard to find IMO. Angel Innocent can be worn all year round but I would spray lightly in summer time or just wear the lotion alone. IMO It's a great combination between clean, fruity and gourmand notes.

Climate has a strange effect on fragrance (or my sense of smell?).
I first reviewed Innocent on a warm spring day, then I didn't choose to wear it through the summer time, and now I am wearing it today, a cold midwinter day. Innocent smells quite different this time! I still like it very much but this time around there's something green in here, far less sweet. I can hardly detect the pralines at all this time around, when they were so prominent in the warm weather. There's a note that smells like a forest, pine perhaps? Its almost unisex, and seems completely unrelated to Angel.

The very first time that I smelled this scent, my very first thought was to wonder whether every perfume that Thierry Mugler touches turns to gold. I really love the scents from this house!

Innocent is a beautiful fragrance that is much more subtle and gentle than his usual fare. But that doesn't detract from it's beauty in any way...in fact it adds to it.

Initially I get the citruses in this perfume. They are tart, but not sour or bitter, and they are quite refreshing in fact.

As the scent dries down I detect a floral note coupled with juicy berries, and an underlying nuttiness.

After a while the sweet praline, vanilla and a hint of amber are the main notes that dominate.

Innocent is quieter than its predecessor, but still has moderate sillage and great longevity. Its delicate nature makes it perfect for daytime use.

I think that if the original Angel is a marching band, then Innocent is a sweet singer crooning love ballads.

I believe this perfume is aptly named, as it seems to have an unassuming innocence about it, that is very sweet and charming.

Wearing Innocent is always a truly fantastic olfactory experience.

Definitely I love it! Young and airy, a warm scent with the exact amount of sweet notes. You won't smell like a cupcake as with other sweet scents (in fact I wouldn't define it as sweet in the exact definition of the word)

Lovely scent! One of my faves. I was a sucker for T.M Angel, and finished over two 100 ml bottles, then i tried this one and fell in love. For me it is like a juvenile lighter version of Angel. I have gone through 2 bottles too, i use this a lot and spray it quite a lot. Perfect for summer in Spain, as it smells super clean, for me like cotton and clouds..actually closer to how an angel would smell than it's big sister Angel. Lovely!! not deep, not mysterious, not seductive...clean, juvenile, innocent, shiny, soft...delicious!

UPDATE 2020 reformulation: Smells way more fruity, more citrusy more cologne-y, more masculine, way thinner, less sweet.....and it is banished from my skin in like..1h. A disaster... i am really sad since this has been one of my most worn frags since i was 15...

I love Mugler's Innocent. It's a sparkling wintertime fragrance. I agree with some others -- I definitely smell "evergreen." I hope it's not discontinued.

nannaje

Very masculine on me at first. Sadly not as I remembered it when I smelled it from the bottle a few years ago. A disappointment to me, I smell no praline nor gourmand notes, just a heavy floral, muddy scent with something sweet thrown in. I will stick to Alien.

Takhaet

I absolutely love this fragrance! sooo refreshing! i can smell of course the famous angel note- chocolate, vanilla and caramel but it is enriched with some lovely fruity notes :) love it for a day and night . Also, on my skin it lasts longer than an Angel x

UrbanBeautiful

i loved this fragrance! i am now an absolutely converted angel-fan and i find this beautiful... a perfect addition to my angel. angel is sexy, loud, strong, sweet, edgy and a "in-your-face" frag... and as much as i love it, i try to avoid using it at daytime, especially when i am in a room with many people... so if im using it for daytime, i try to only stick with my deodorant to keep it "work-safe" if angel could ever be called as such. same for summer... i think it is just a little to strong for summer... so then for exaclty these occasions there is: innocent! i loved the simple statement by ritacatita: "freshly cut grass sprinkled with sugar." yes! definately!!!! it has a very very light touch of angel to it, but then again, it just is super fresh! but fresh not in a way i dont like fresh: fresh as in citrus-blast.. but fresh as in clean...simple..easy-going...light... i think the name is just perfect! innocent is very innocent! simple, angelic, with a hint of sugar and light sways of angel. i can even imagine this perfume to be a young girls very first perfume.. at least, if i ever get a girl, this is what i will get her as her first perfume ever. it is a perfume i think can compliment your own skin-smell perfectly! this is how i imagine a beautiful woman or angel would naturally smell.. and this is what i would use to make every person around me or close enough to smell, think about me :)

Hi all you Innocent fans. Did you know Thierry Mugler has cancelled the Innocent Perfume. Just found out today so go stock up before it is too late. I suggest to go to Thierry Mugler site and contact them and protest. So does anyone have a good match for that scent?

scentedrat

I almost liked this one. I had a duplicate of it that was lovely, and bought the real thing based on that. There is a note in it that just doesn't agree with me, and I don't know what it is. But it ruined the whole thing and I had to scrub! Also very strong.
