Damn this is a great smelling perfume!!
Paid 475$ worth every penny! My signature scent for life! Sophisticated, dark... Yummy.
It doesn't last that much to be honest but maybe it is because of my skin? did not get complimented tho while wearing which is a little bummer, but the scent itself is magical.
Scent: 9.5/10
Everything else: 7/10

Muthegoatt

am i trippin or does it smell kinda like RADICAL ROSE

GoodSmellsOnly14

Okay let’s be honest right now, the extrait and regular parfum smell basically identical! Both are absolutely exquisite. What sets them apart is the power of sillage and longevity. I have both, and both have been on either arm for hours now and while both are still incrediblely powerful, the extrait is radiating a scent bubble of multiple feet while the parfum is maybe 1ft of scent bubble. It is noticeably a stronger concentration. As for the smell, do you need both? I say NO. If you’re a big perfume lover and care about performance and you want the entire building to smell you from miles away, then I say get the extrait as well. If you’re choosing between the 2 and cannot decide, 100% go with the extrait. It is absolutely worth the extra $100 something due to its performance. This is an ungodly beast mode perfume. It puts Amouge, Guidance to shame and I thought that was the strongest perfume out there until I came across this beauty.

Saira1988

For me and my partner both, this was one of the most nauseating, headache inducing scents we have had the displeasure of coming across. We both don't understand what the hype is about. It is a truly revolting combination of ingredients on the both of us. Way way classier and stunning scents out there.

MrMrBrian

I purchased the parfum 1st & then had to have the Extrait!! while I love them both! Each completely unisex in my opinion & neither suffers as far as power, The Extrait gives it that bit of a man with facial hair vibe or at least to me it does. I say that because of the oud tinge it gives off with the Extrait. I love both of em so much. Some guys will still think it leans a bit feminine because of that fluffy sweet syrupy yet airy rose in both of them & I like plenty of other men love this stuff! A little goes a long way! I even have the body lotion to go with it which was money I didn’t have to spend, Because the both of them are so potent..It really isn’t needed

Yusrayacoubi

Absolute beast. Got a sample sprayed it on a paper and the whole house smelt of this. Unfortunately it’s too strong for me I wish it was heavier on the vanilla.
It smells so good on my dad tho. 👌🏼

FragranceFlairLatrice

I absolutely love this fragrance. It is bold, beautiful and sexy. The rose and Oud are blended beautifully. It doesn’t have that medicinal smell that some of the other MFK fragrances emits. I layer this with gentle fluidity gold for a divine scent.

kabusecha

Very sweet and rose-heavy. Little on the oud. Extremely cloying and headache-inducing in small spaces; wear with caution.

Augustxh

This is a 10/10. The delicate, yet bold rose is well blended with smooth oud and different sweet notes. The amber and the cinnamon add alot to the original eau de parfum and makes this lean masculine in my opinion.

The performance on this is out of this world! I lasts 16+ hours on skin and the sillage is enormous, but it is not obnoxious. It could quite literally ”fill a room”.

Craig87

I use to hear fragrance reviews talk about 'beast mode' fragrances and scents that fill a room. I never believed them and assumed this was just marketing to sell the product.

However, this fragrance is so strong! It literally fills a room. You could get away with a couple of sprays to last you the whole evening. The sillage is insane and last more than long enough.

I think the price is high. Yet as you will not need that many sprays per wearing, its worth the money.

manilaperfumeboy

My favorite from the house. It costs an arm but even a 30ml bottle will last any sane collector a couple of years. Unfortunately, I used this during a break-up -- so I can no longer enjoy the scent on its own.

10/10 nonetheless.

FahrenheitFan

If you like the smell of Turkish Delight and talcum powder, then you will like this fragrance.

gorin

perfumes do not get better than this
an actual 10/10

jackthomas_

I get a TON of rose and powdery smell to start. It was almost like a bouquet of roses next to some baby powder and Hubba Bubba. I'm not picking up much oud at all. As it's settling, I'm recognizing a bit of vanilla and violet. There is at least some type of woodsy note in the far back, making for a slightly darker scent. Maybe a slight spicy note in the back too. I like the rose, but the powderyness of this fragrance just makes it not for me at all. I can see other people loving this, though. I don't want to wear this long enough to test its longevity, but the sillage is absolutely massive.

Amus

I have both the extrait spray and roll on and they are very different scents. The spray is more in your face and takes hours to settle down. My daughter has Baccarat Rouge and she said she couldn’t smell her perfume because of mine and that was a few hours after I’d sprayed it. You only need a few quick sprays as it’s enormous. I didn’t like it initially as it felt quite old-fashioned to me, quite woody and leathery but when it settled down it became more floral, and the base notes had that almost Parma violet powdery scent well into the next day. After a few tries, it grew on me. It received many compliments though. My daughter bought me the oil version as she thought it would be subtler. She was right, subtler but far less leathery and woody top notes. Instead it’s much more floral. The rose is subtle and the violet is much larger. Some days it”s definitely more oud-like and leathery but mostly it’s floral on my skin. While it’s less in your face, it still has good sillage and gets plenty of compliments. I love it so much I wear it daily, keeping the spray for going out. You only need a couple of dabs behind your ears, on the nape and wrists. It lingers long on clothing and bedding, which is lovely to wake up to. While they have a big price tag, the fact they’re both such huge scents and last so long, this makes the price tag absolutely worth it. I don’t have much to go on, but I have worn a number of perfumes like J’Adore L’Or, which doesn’t last on me at all and definitely isn’t worth the price tag, so comparing both on longevity of scent and price, Oud Satin Mood wins hands down.

haparef191

The thing with it is just that it's a really well made perfume, and not that it smells so divine or anything..

impulse01

If you are looking for a fragrance that will make you feel like royalty, look no further than Oud Satin Mood Extrait de Parfum. This fragrance is a jewel that sparkles with elegance and grace, a precious gem that enhances your natural beauty and charm. The opening smells luxurious and complex, and it later dries down to a perfectly aligned smell that will definitely make people turn their heads and look at you. Two sprays is enough to last more than a day and have people smelling you from across the room. Highly recommend it for anyone that has the money to buy this.

Rmgxi

Amazing rose oud scent that I didnt think id like based off the notes, this scent quickly became my favorite release from MFK, the initial spray is harsh and from an upclose smell has an unpleasant green cucumbery smell that dosent fit nicely into the fragrance. As it dries down 15-20 minutes later everything sits in nicely and it becomes a masterpiece

tttoomm1

super jammy rose and vanilla, powdery, right up my ally. Old school atthe beggining. Love it.

Nerusaa

Just got this the rose might might be too much for others and you might go nose blind if you can handle the rose after 20 minutes you going to be good. I got 2 compliment in a day

Projecting:massive it lingers
Sillage: about 12 hours
Price: Over priced

Elsi

Unfortunately I get plasticky, powdery baby wipes with this (the roll on oil version) and the EDP almost immediately. I really want to like it and I think if it weren't for the baby wipes facet, it would be lovely and just sweet enough for me.

vitolina

I adore the roses in this perfume, but I honestly hoped for a better projection. Maybe it's my skin chemistry or something, or maybe I'm spoiled because other extraits (such as Draco from Tiziana Terenzi or Hibiscus Mahajad from Maison Crivelli) are *intense* and I don't have the need to overspray.
I purchased this and oil rollers (which smell slightly different and kind of remind me of Shalimar for a split second, probably because of the vanilla), but neither of those projects very well. I can smell it because I usually spray perfumes on my collarbone and I love it, but I kinda wish people around me would also smell it :)
My fiance can smell it because he's the only one allowed to come this close to me :D and he loves it. But, when regarding the price point, this is a bit disappointing.

When talking about this scent, the roses are amazing. They are not as sharp and headache-inducing as, The Red Roses Cologne from Jo Malone, but soft, elegant, and exquisite.
Otherwise, I can sense this perfume is made with high-quality ingredients and I love it because of that. It smells sophisticated, luxurious, and just delicious.

For now, I'm going to give it 7/10 because of its undelivering performance, but I honestly hope this will somehow change. Please try it before you buy it, get a sample or a small size, and see how your skin will react to it.

Ferg1

I blind bought this one and disappointment was big when i smelled it for the 1st time. I couldn't understand it because i tested the Edp version in store and i liked it.

All i could smell when i first sprayed this on paper was a make-up bag. I was almost directly thinking about selling it. But the day after i sprayed it on me to test it on skin and
to see how it develops through out the day. I sprayed 2 half sprays on each side of my neck and now i can tell you that this is one of the best fragrances ever made, imo.

A Very sophisticated ambery rose-oud with some good vanilla, the blend is a mastery, smells sensual and luxury. No need to talk about the performance, it is much stronger than BR540. So you really have to be careful on the atomiser.

JesScent

I purchased Oud Satin Mood Elixir Précieux Extrait de Parfum in a roll-on oil version, not the spray bottle version. The oil version is the only oud I have ever enjoyed (so far all other oud fragrances I’ve tried had me regretting life and avoiding my wrist for 24+ hours). I didn’t even like any of the other Maison Francis Kurkdjian Paris oud fragrances, none of the MFK oud spray perfumes. I only like Oud Satin Mood in the oil version.

And saying that I like this oud fragrance is an understatement. I LOVE Oud Satin Mood. It is so sexy and feminine and the silage is pretty good, as I’ve had people from six feet or more away from me ask what I’m wearing. My boyfriend likes this on me & he hates almost all fragrances.

I love Oud Satin Mood so much I bought the $100 candle. This scent makes me feel happy, sensual, excstatic, beautiful, like a Queen, etc etc.

Love, love , love this fragrance especially in the winter time, day or night. And it’s totally sexy to wear at bedtime before mounting a Lover💖

ClosetGeek

For those with experience with these fragrances….

By scent profile only, Is the difference between OSM Extrait and EDP similar to the difference between Reflection 45 and Reflection Man?

Lollo

Old school and unisex in the beginning. Quite heavy. Gets more feminine as time goes. Day two, smells warm sophisticated woman. Very unike, worth the price if you like the smell since the lasting power is tremendeaus. For me its a bit too smokey, too oudy. Normally I dont like oud at all but this one is something special. Well Done Francis Kurkdjian!

Breathing in the Wake

Like most MFK fragrances, this one is also nuclear. Enormous sillage and lasts forever on skin and clothes. The more I wear it, the more compliments it collects especially in the evening during cooler months. Definitely a scent to be savored and worn on special occasions or whenever you feel special. I purchased it knowing that it leaned floral and powdery and is less heavy on the oud but I still like it. For a deeper, mysterious blast, I layer it with Oud Palao by Diptyque or Oud for Greatness by Initio. Both compliment this beast mode fragrance very well.

670268-me

Very clean oud scent. Smells like having a date with your long-term partner at an upscale hotel, or like a sophisticated business woman. Drydown smells a little synthetic for my taste but I might buy a dupe or a decant.

Pb07

Histoires de parfums "Fidelis" with a Mfk price tag.
Both are mirror images of each. Even the potency, longetivity and sillage is same.

cafeyleche

The initial spray was upsetting and I sat there contemplating why I blind bought this…then the dry down hit and it is GORGEOUS

Whf

if you have it and you’re willing to trade DM I have other fragrances and or cash.

marcuspiridon

Whenever I wear this perfume, I feel like a god. The divine scent of this fragrance and its nuclear performance make Oud Satin Mood extrait a compliment magnet.
This perfume is no joke. +24h longevity on my skin and maybe more than a week on clothes.
Very expensive but Definitely worth the price.

dzingunyte

This definitely sits closer to the skin than edp.
Nevertheless gorgeous and strong fragrance. Very expensive for 70ml too-320€
Elegant,luxurious and sweet.

anaro

This fragrance exudes a luxurious aura, making you feel like a well-put-together individual. It's a unisex scent with an impressive longevity of over 12 hours and a captivating scent trail. It's regarded as the best in the MFK lineup. While the Oud adds depth without being overpowering, it's essential to note that if you dislike roses, this fragrance might not be for you.

The scent is described as jammy and sweet, reminiscent of luxury soap. It's particularly well-received; I receive compliments as a man when wearing it. It's recommended for special occasions or, if you're comfortable with the price tag, can be worn daily if you dress well. For those on a budget, testing it in-store is advisable. It's hailed as one of the world's best fragrances; use it sparingly, as one to three sprays is sufficient, it lasts forever and projects like crazy; if you use more, you can gas yourself or others out.
I rate it a 9.9/10

Rafa_cologne

Smells similar to the edp, edp is softer and less in ur face… the opening in the extrait has a punch u get the edp base and oud satin dna rose, oud and sweetness but theres something else with a very strong smell i think its the geranium or the second rose added but its in your face and kinnda bothers u… the edp didnt have that and as soon as you sprayed it everything felt so blended. Extrait has a sharp beginning can de annoying to some as i think it doesnt fit well but luckily it fades after 10-15 min leaving the classic ‘purple smell’ violet, rose, oud and sweetness like in the edp i do feel this one richer more dept and yes a slight cinnamon note, not as in a angels share or oajan where cinnamon is a main character which i wish but it does kinnda work here as a complimentary note very nice… overall this is better than the edp if you can stand the opening for 10-15 min

Just apply it 30 min before leaving your house and you’ll be fine. More compliments with extrait for sure smells wonderful in the dry down

aabisogun

This fragrance has a nice masculine leaning scent. I get more of the Oud than anything else. It has clearly been toned down by the vanilla. This is a blessing, because pure Oud can be an assault to the olfactory senses.
It lasts quite long, but does not necessarily project outwards - at least not from my skin, anyway.
Works better in the winter or autumn months, and it’s more of an evening fragrance.
Rating: 7/10

SomeAsianDude

mmm im personally not that big a fan, especially of the opening. The opening is too sweet and smells like my grandma's makeup bag. The dry down is meh to me. Not a fragrance I'd wear.

Harsh262

(Please don't hate me) Accidently sprayed Satin Mood, and Arabian Tonka today, and for some reason the combo is actually getting along. I have been complimented by few colleagues.

updog

It opens just a little on the sweet and feminine side, but still completely unisex. I hope Kurkdjian will continue to work with oud!

Love & fragrance#01

I waited veryyyyy long to purchase this because it was no longer in stock. I was afraid that it was discontinued so i mailed the MFK company and they said that it was due to difficulties to acquire the oud ingredient. I actually was kind of happy to hear that because, to me, that showed how carefully they handle the ingredients in it, and not 'just' reformulate it. You get what you see, a worthy ‘extrait de parfum’ with highly acquired ingredients.

If i had to choose one perfume to use my whole life it would be this one! This is so well blended, so intoxicating with a fantastic sillage, projection and longevity. Amazing!! I love the powderiness, the oud, the smoothend rose with the vanilla, the cinnamon. It is soo well blended. And it projects even more when i sweat or in hot weather. It radiates around me and i and others love it too. It matches soo well with my skin chemistry, it is just crazy! I want to buy a 200ml of this potion, unfortunately they don’t sell the extrait in a big bottle.

One time i was at work and a coworker of mine said that she could trace me because of my perfume. I told her that i hadn’t sprayed anything that morning. It turned out it was the oud satin mood EDP which i had sprayed 2 days before on my clothes and behind my neck/hairline…. Let alone the extrait de parfum.
Masterpiece!

Update: pure perfection *_*

SidShad

This is so heavenly and with insane performance. I find it to be more mature than the EDP version and really think that its worth the price tag. Its not just a brand name you will be paying for, its the quality, smoothness and the feeling you get when you sniff it on the skin. I never thought i will ever feel so good about a perfume so costly. The projection is magnificent and i get lot of compliments wearing this one.
Surprisingly my wife complimented me a day after from when I applied two sprays of it on my polo. I cant praise it enough

dddavibbb

This smells like straight up baby diaper and baby powder. Very chalky smell and I can see how it continues to be a good seller. I’m not a fan at all. Definitely a beast fragrance. I would not blind buy. I prefer silk mood though.

Sandrowizard

Wow, this completely changed my view of Oud fragrances. I was always under the impression that Oud was way too strong and masculine for me to wear but this completely change my mind I feel like this smell is so sophisticated that anyone could wear it. After smelling it in the store I will have to buy a full bottle in the future.

Piggy41510

This fragrance is not just another purchase!! It's an investment 💖 because it's so good and strong, classy, opulent, mysterious and interesting. It is pricey 💲💲💲💲 but I believe it's worth it because I've never smelled anything like it. And it gets better over time!!! Wow🤯

OVRLDD

Just recently tried this - absolutely love it.

The added cinnamon makes the opening more interesting, but it's subtle and quickly goes to the background after 30min. What remains is a smoother version of the EdP - the later always had something that seemed slightly synthetic, or out of place. The extrait smoothens it up, but keeps the same scent profile, in exchange for a hefty price tag.

You won't get a performance boost, nor a bigger scent cloud (and thank god, as the EdP is enough as it is!).

So, if money is no issue, or if you're looking for a small decant for special occasions, I 100% recommend this over EdP.

If you're looking for your next signature fragrance, then EdP would be a better bang for your buck.

MrsYes

It took me a while to wrap my head👃around it!
The extrait version was the first one I tried 3 years ago. I couldn’t stand how sweet it was back then, but appreciated the depth and complexity as well as excellent performance.
Now I feel I am ready for this beautiful beast. In fact I'm craving it. Intoxicatingly sweet dark roses are at the front. The rest of the composition, in my opinion, is just providing their texture: rich, velvet-like, intense😍
The oud accord feels to me like an abstract dark woodiness, a touch animalic at the beginning, and with the distinctive boiled potatoes (yellow varieties) hint to it.
I get some buttery sweetness in OSM extrait, nodding to caramel, but not overwhelmingly so. There is something milky-creamy about it, which makes it cosy and “female skin”-like.
OSM edp is good for nothing compared to the beautiful and full bodied extrait. It’s lighter, lacks that woody aspect, and the buttery backbone of the extrait. I won’t waste my money on edp under any circumstances.

Love & fragrance#01

It is back in stock on the website of Maison Francis Kurkdjian for the interested ones

Bu parfümün Alhambra boroque satin oud olanını aldım o bile inanılmaz kalıcı ve güzel .Originalini hayal bile edemiyorum

Patj1994

One of the strongest fragrances I’ve ever smelled. One quarter of a spray from the TESTER vial can fill up an entire house for 6+ hours. It’s borderline obnoxious, annoying and suffocating lol.

On the plus side, it smells beautiful….but it’s just too strong

Such a shame this has been discontinued.

Larsse

Hard to believe one day I would say a fragrance at this price point is worthy. But it really is.

nicetosmellyou

In my opinion the best perfume ever created. Bold statement, I know, but nothing I have tried can compete with the depth, richness and sophistication of Oud satin mood extrait. The original Edp was already incredible, but Extrait takes the DNA to the next level adding cinnamon and geranium. This makes the composition more rich and deep, also slightly more masculine to my nose. Oud satin mood Extrait opens up very rosy-floral, dries down quickly to a sweet, oriental, creamy, slightly ambery composition accompanied by rich Laotian oud to bring the whole thing together and create a solid foundation for the sweeter floral notes up top. Cinnamon adds a slight rich and spicy quality which blends fantastically with the vanilla.

Performance is godlike, just two sprays of this beast fills a room and lasts on my skin for minimum 16 hours. Oud satin mood Extrait is the only expensive top-end niche fragrance I can say the price is worth it. You truly get what you pay for. A divine scent with beastly performance. Meaning that you won't have use more than 1-2 sprays per wear, ultimately making this bottle last a very long time without running out. I usually overspray but this stuff is extremely potent so no more than 3 sprays, or you will literally choke out people around you. Update, I did 1 small spray. 1 hour later or so my dad asks me what is smelling so much in the house. I sprayed it in my room with a closed door. So this is not just a room filler, this is a house filler.

HenryLv

This fragrance is a beast.Tested on my wrist with one spray, felt like everyone can smell it.It is an intoxicating juice of Dark Rose with powder. It is still feminine scent in extrait version but...women who wear this extrait must be overly confident and strong because extrait also mixex abit of masculine too. This is abomb!!!!

Secretasenha2023*

It’s a strong baby powder smell. Nothing else. Not bad, not great, just meh

kbraun

Love this perfume! Definitely unisex, some would say leans masculine. So strong! Only 1-2 sprays needed and the whole room can smell you. Smells so sexy on a man, however I like to wear it too. Definitely a wintertime/ night time scent. Lasts 12+ hours for me. Incredible performance. Never had a perfume that smells like this. When my ex wore it I love to bury my face in his neck so yummy

rickkkkky

My most expensive blind buy to date. Keeping fingers crossed it's a love. My bank account wouldn't forgive me otherwise.

Edit: Jesus, I hate this thing.

erika.isme.98

Unbearably powdery to my nose. Maybe I'll like the original more

LaLuNaveed

I ordered OSM EDP for a very good price, When I got the package, I got so excited, ripped the box opened without noticing that they sent me this, OSM extrait, by mistake. Both versions are 90% similar. The only difference that I notice is that EDP has more vanilla, it's sweeter and leaning feminine, this has more cinnamon, making it less sweet, drier, woody, leaning masculine. I am learning to love it.

davidlong13

Update: I spoke to a sales associate about this perfume, and whether or not it is or is being discontinued in the UK.

Apparently, as it uses pure oud it is taking a while for the ingredients and notes to be harvested. This is why the stock has not been replenished. Stores have confirmed they have not had stock in about 6 months. However MFK have stated that it is still in rotation, and that batches are coming soon.

ShaunMichael

Gorgeous scent and my favorite from this house.
As with all reviews on this site , people hate on fragrances they cannot afford. if you think I’m wrong, look at the reviews of scents under $75

crushedpearlssss

Does anyone know if this is discontinued ? I can’t find it anywhere . Uk based

mohamedabdelreheim

*near full bottle looking to trade for MFK Oud extrait or sell PM me

Beastly performance. Wearing this is a commitment; it’ll be all you can smell for 48 hours. 2 sprays max. Don’t spray on clothes as it stains. Fell in love with this when I purchased it but overtime it became a little too powdery for my taste

A_Ferrera

So insanely sumptuous!

Certainly a lot more dense in comparison to the edp. Where there is oud, there must be rose and where there is rose there must be violet! Such a magnificent and masterfully crafted combination.

I am aware that this fragrance for most people is reserved for nights out or special occasions, but personally, I prefer only wearing this when I'm relaxing at home by myself. As someone who is an introvert, I tend to wear most of my fragrances at home whilst in my pyjamas and accompanied by a warm cup of tea...this to me is a special occasion.

Performance is undoubtably unquestionable. I only spray it on my clothes as my skin just eats perfume.

SNKIOP

Winter Fall scent: 6,5/10 Sweet, bit powdery, rose, maybe hint of caramel? The scent is really nice but a bit too feminine for me to wear as a man. It's great for colder weather, the scent is cozy. Unfortunately it can get a bit nauseating. Silage 8,5/10 Longevity 9/10

nicetosmellyou

This is just lovely and a further improvement to the already amazing Edp version. Even more nuclear performance and made slightly more masculine in my opinion. I think the addition of geranium and cinnamon is the reason behind that. One of if not the best MFK fragrance I've tried so far, I'm not sure if I like it more than Grand Soir though.

Considering the price difference between Edp and Extrait I will recommend you to buy the Edp. Most people couldn't tell the difference

leon7

I Had to change my review to love it after trying it a second time. I don't like rose perfumes, Im more of a woody perfume girl, but this is just the perfect amount of rose...for me! It stays on my skin for ages 8+ My boyfriend loved it as well.

Laurentiu20

The opening is very unique, very powdery, I get lots of violets with rose in the opening and more oud and vanilla as it gets to the dry-down. The OUD comes very metallic to my nose, but in a good way and I love it in combination with the rose and the vanilla.

Am I the only one who gets a chocolate vibe in this? For me it's a strong ROSE-OUD combo on a soft chocolate with vanilla base.

Very strong, awesome projection and sillage and the longevity is easily 12H+. 4 sample sprays are enough to fill rooms and smell nice for the entire day! Very unisex from my pov.

gnrattlerjr

The edp is a fragrance, the extrait is an experience!

Have a great-smelling day....on purpose!

Adjr1087

This perfume was the one that made me realize I can't stand Oud. It smells like Chemical rubbery wood on my skin and I wish I could love Oud, because I know that many people do, but I can't stand the rubbery mess. I keep trying new Oud fragrances only to find out I hate it more and more every single time :(

Drfrag

Very realistic high quality Oud Rose perfume. Long lasting and performance monster. I usually don't favor spending a large amount of money on expensive perfumes, but this perfume totally deserves the price tag.

JoyDivision

It’s a sweet rose-vanilla oriental, but not the usual oud. Very intense and very sweet just like a rose Turkish delight. The opening is a punchy woody sweetness but then it dries down to a rosy vanilla spice scent.

Today the lady at the coffee shop told me that whatever I’m wearing is incredible and like nothing else she’s ever smelled before. It actually compliments and sweetens up Delina Exclusif acting like a silage extension.

It’s silage runs in “beast mode”, so make sure you don’t overdo it.

Hum_C

Even about a year ago, I would avoid oud fragrances as much as I could... and here I am now, with Oud Satin Mood Extrait being one of my top5 favorite perfumes of all time!

This doesn't smell like hundred other oud rose fragrances on the market. Like most other MFK fragrances, OSM Extrait is very beautifully blended. The vanilla adds a little bit of sweetness to the rose-oud combo, the amber gives it a deeper and richer feel and the violet adds such elegance to this perfume. This is the type of perfume that makes you feel like a millionaire.. even with an empty wallet! 😂😂 Performance of OSM Extrait is also phenomenal, this is one of those beast mode fragrances that you don't overspray. I wore it on my birthday evening 2 weeks ago and I can still smell it on my dress, even though I didn't spray on my clothes!!

Overall, it's a 10/10 perfume for me and simply intoxicating with unparalleled elegance 🥰

I have this in these 4 small roll-on vials and it's called extrait de parfum elixir precioux. The consistency is very thick. This is perfect for me because it won't chock anyone with it's sillage and you still can smell it on yourself. Very very long lasting and you don't need much.

billytheriver

This is an absolute powerhouse! I've not encountered a fragrance that matches it's longevity.
I also find this super addictive. If you're craving a seriously good quality Rose, then give it a try.
If compliments are your thing, I've had more compliments on this than most of my easy going fragrances.
Definitely one that warrants it's price tag, in my opinion.

Belli9

@vasilakis13: almost no similarity in my opinion between satin mood and black aoud

vasilakis13

Any similarities to montale black aoud and mancera black to black?thanks!

CR95

Rose and Vanilla woody scent, a bit too sweet for me. Vanilla and rose hits first with sweetness but not candy like. Mature, sexy, evening like. In a way reminds me of Love dont be shy Kilian but it’s probably the vanilla. It’s like a more mature version of Kilian.
It has projection but it smells like many vanilla scents I smelled. Just not classy in a way I like to be.

Piggy41510

This fragrance is mind blowing 🤯🤯 it transforms as time passes!!! And when I wear this I smell like no one else!!! This is my first niche fragrance and now I understand somewhat the difference between Designer and Niche is! I'm a Trucker for a living but a high payed one💵 so when I smelled this one I thought it was worth the money 💰 I'm very satisfied with this fragrance 🥰 sexy, luxurious, Uniq, high quality is how I would describe this! ❤️❤️ Love it👍🏾

chrisk252

A smooth and friendly oud. I'm no oud fan, but this is so gentle and polished, with rose and floral rounding out any rough edges of the oud. Hints of fountain pen ink. Not really something I'd normally wear, but what a pleasant surprise to try it out. Testing with Gentle Fluidity Silver on the other arm and both are so smooth, creative, different, original, and unique.

Scent: 8 / Sillage: 7 / Longevity: 7

When I smell this perfume, I immediately associate it with some middle eastern royalty. It smells luxurious. Rose and oud are main characters here and they play so well together. Satin mood is definitely mature and elegant scent. Can be worn any time or season.

This perfume is very long lasting and it leaves enormous trail of scent. Also I would definitely recommend not to overspray it. It’s very potent.

typeonegative333

I'm glad I purchased this, it's a luxurious rose water oud fragrance, it exudes such classy and elegant vibes and is versatile - I usually wouldn't go for a rose water type of scent, but it's so pretty and perfectly done. A great experience, the oils are to die for. This is a solid 10

brandybasisty

I didn't think the original Oud Satin Mood could get any better until I smelled the black tea vibe others are mentioning in this extrait version-- in addition to the sweet powdery violet, jammy rose, and golden oud of the original. The tea smell must be coming from the geranium and cinnamon and it's so brilliant. I'm usually less inclined to try a rose based scent with tea because that combination reminds me of potpourri, but not with this one- it just adds another beautiful layer to enjoy in tandem with the others. I'd also argue that this version is less sweet. Can anyone else recommend other fragrances that use geranium in such an amazing way?

Myriam Elé

I find similarities to Izia by Sisley. This perfume has a tart note at the first 30 minutes. Before checking at ingredients, I would expect to see some red fruit or lemon / bergamot in the concoction. Some mentioned lychee earlier.

KerriZ

This is definitely a wow. It smells expensive. and it is. It is subtle and assured. Confident and flirty. Everyone will know when you walk into the room. The balance of the roses blended with the woodsy Oud is what makes this stand out.

Belli9

I don't usually get compliments, but satin mood does. Now i wear in summer in the aircondition public relation office. the client asks what smells so nice here

gayrights

one spray will stay on you for DAYS and that's why we love her

Mari-Antoinette

I know what this exactly smells like !!!!!
Imagine tea made from loose black Indian tea and a earl grey tea leaves mixed together. That’s how the spud smells in this creation……. Now add some spices, predominantly cinnamon. Now open a jar of rose petal jam, sweet amber color jam made of deliciously sweet smelling roses. Now put a spoon of that sweet delight in your mouth and sip the hot spicy tea -akhhhhhhhhhh that’s it!!!

josenajas

Simply one of the 5 best perfumes ever created. Unmatched in silage, longevity and sexiness.

Mari-Antoinette

This is very very good- but something ruins it for me a few hours down the wear. When I first spray it I love it - it’s bold and intoxicating, very well put together like a tailored expensive designer suit, or freshly done perfect evening makeup. However, as I wear it the stitches of the suit start to come off and your make up melts on your face and you feel that the strong structure is collapsing. And that’s when something starts to bother me in this scent. I layered this with silk mood Extrait - it’s magnificent. The green oud meets the sweet oud and what they create makes you weak with pleasure. Ppl asked what I was wearing …that’s another story when you try to explain to someone not as much interested in perfumery as you are, that you are wearing MFK oud satin mood with mfk oud silk mood in Extract version lol makes no sense to ppl lol
Back to the topic, The union of two is amazing, until the satin moods fails it’s structure again for me:((…..I can feel it even under the suspension of silk mood.
EDIT:
I was just reading my own comment without noticing that it was written by me. I went like OMG my thought exactly lol then I saw that I wrote it.

JupiterMoon

I usually associate oud with dark and heavy fragrances but here it is lighter and brighter, paired with the rose. This makes it more balanced out. Both the oud and rose are strong and prominent. It's quite powerful and upfront (like a lot of MFK.) It is a very classy, best suited for formal and cold nights, but it is still quite versatile. A date or dinner fragrance, or even the office if it's fancy (or if you are.) Very impressive.

DaylanB1000

This is my secret weapon. This is EXTREMELY POWERFUL. One spray to the chest area and you walk out the door. Ignore that little voice in the back of your insecurities telling you to spray just one or more time(s). This will fill a room….we’re talking 10 to 15 feet of people looking around to find the source of this divine aroma. With that being said I’m utterly terrified to wear this indoors or tight spaces. I actually spend short increments each day thinking of an actual occasion to wear this nuclear weapons-grade juice from heaven. They don’t need to make a 6.8oz bottle of this. Following a 1 spray per wear method you’d get through the regular bottle YEARS later. Is it worth $395 USD? Given how such a little goes a long way I’d say YES!!!!!

Oh and this last for EONS

And one more thing: I haven’t actually cracked open my bottle yet, I’ve been using the samples they gave me along with my purchase. DO NOT….DO NOT spray the entire sample vial in one wear….

Controlledbyscent31

Okay, so this is my second review ...
I wore this out in london this past weekend just gone, for a date night in an enclosed Italian garlic, cheese brimming resturant and i choked alot of people out I underestimated the power of this one i sprayed 8 sprays on me backs of legs, arms and pulse points and let me tell you my husband said It was punching him in the throat and that people were staring at me.
And I'm sure it wasn't the tight bodycon dress or lovely swarovski necklace round my neck that matched my dress as to why they were staring ....
I OVERSPRAYED ON A WARM, 20 degree + MAY EVENING....
I made poor judgement and error that night 😜 and I loved every second of it...
The diners and my husband however not so much, apparently my husband could taste it 😅
Spray with caution and maybe not in heat or a little enclosed space unless its one spray only ⚠️

rxmnng

Lmao I had EDP but after I tested the extrait from a guy I knew on the internet I decided to jump on the web and dig for an extrait right away, all I can say is that it's thicker and has more oud to it. With 1 spray I can fill a whole room, longevity easily 24 hours, massive projection and sillage, these are the reasons why swapped for an extrait because I wanna be that dude who chokes people with my fragrance lol. Still my most favorite fragrance ever til this day.

Calvini

Starts out with a dazzling burst of burgundy fruity rose, but fades into something that's ultimately not that unique or authentically oud; without the opening, it can easily be replaced by Roja, Boadicea, and even Dior & Guerlain.

Armen77

My most complemented fragrance. Amazing sent that last well over 10 hours. Well worth the price.

aj.mourad

BOMB BOMB BOMB, opening extremely strong, wasn't really a fan of oud but this fragrance made me fall in love with it, by far best oud fragrance, best mfk as well.

Lionessnire

Wahhhhh so bummed, it smells like a diaper wipe on me.

SoftWisdom

I'm a rose lover in perfumery, more than anything else. The more I wear this the more I love it! It's a thick cocoon of syrupy roses, powdery violets, and vanilla woods that make me feel comforted. I feel like I'm wearing a cozy soft sweater made out of turkish delight ahhh. One spray, two tops, or else it's too overwhelming for me. Lasts all day long on my skin, & for me totally worth the cost. Definitely a favorite <3

dsgnmind

I write my reviews for my own future reference.

The whole rose, baby powder, powdery thing doesn't kick in till later. On first impression I get a lovely lychee, violet, or floral mix. Definitely initially slightly sweet and unique with a velvety oud tone. But the dry down leaves me with a much drier, and velvety tone that when not actively trying to smell the fragrance I get little whiffs of baby wipes which is a little off-putting. It's infrequent and just barely noticable, but still there. Still a nice dry rose scent that while leans feminine in its use of rose, still leans masculine in it's oud-ness. Great for a masquerade, going to the opera, etc. That is about how unique of a special occasion I'll need to feel comfortable wearing this out. Or a dimly lit, half-filled lounge where Manhattans are served more often than martinis, with the right company.

Perfumeaddiction22

Smells like a very expensive baby powder!

thangr250

He wood rocky mountain by dsquared on steroids ,extreme projection and longevity
there are fragrances that might fill bigger rooms , the scent bubble tho is almost tangible
if you like roses its a no brainer compared to he wood , if you dont like roses but love he wood give it a try cause , imo its not of the femine / old ladish type of roses

SmellSharpe

I really dislike this. Weird as I am a big fan of oud in general and most of MFK’s scents. This is a sickly sweet rose/violet forward scent. Headache and nausea inducing and so strong that it can’t be easily washed off. Yuck.

ATC

This is wonderful in cool days. Combination of Lychee and rose. Very sweet and can last for at least 5 hours. Got it from Lane Crawford Hong Kong as part of the OUD set. Love it when I feel stressed and frustrated.

luminaries

This is just like the Oud Satin Mood EDP, but even stronger (and I consider that one to be extremely long lasting already). I enjoy violets in perfume, but this scent is heavily powdered and sweet to the point of being nauseating. It really radiates off the skin with the smell of talcum powder/baby wipes and some rose. The rose in this is more present than the EDP and the eventual ambery dry down is nicer as the powderiness fades so I do like the Extrait more.

Reimsx

went to the store to smell it and i fell in love with this rather than BR540 even tho i love it too
its strange that i smelled a litchi from the first whiff and the store attendant actually told me there was no litchi!

definitely my signature scent! love love love it
i cant get enough of it, but i have to warn tho, i does get cloying if you overdose yourself with this smell

Dramaloladiva

Beautiful but I cannot justify having both the EdP and the Extrait in my collection as they basically smell the same. You’d think I’d learn my lesson with the blind buying but I still haven’t 🙄🙄

I have a definite preference for the Eau de Parfum, personally. It smells more rounded, more comforting and definitely less screechy than the Extrait.
Extrait has a lot more rose, and possibly oud than EdP. To my nose, the geranium, violet and cinnamon are not present (which is why I bought it in the first place!!). So needless to say I am quite disappointed...
In the end, it’s a BIG rose/Oud/Amber combo that I am not really impressed with.

No resemblance to New York 5th Avenue by Fragrance du Bois (to my nose) as 5th Avenue has a definite Caramel/Violet/Oud/Rose Combo that is well balanced and therefore very different than Oud Satin Mood Extrait...

Longevity: 8 hours
Projection: huge
Sillage: same
Price: overpriced for what it is

MrAbbas

With time I started to love it more, No doubts its high quality scent.. To my nose it smells like jammy rose sprayed on top of it Johnson & Johnson Baby powder, that's exactly. It needs a certain attire to be pulled off otherwise offensive. Sure for winter and SURE for special occasion. Sure has a presence to it and it projects. Extrait better than EDP based on what I am hearing. Big projection.

Edit: Layer on top of it Givenchy Gentleman EDP.... Wohoooo smells stunning and even better.

bendingdream

Hands down one of the prettiest rose representations in "classical" western perfumery, but like with the other offerings from the line the name is very misleading. This is a pure rose perfume, supported with some sweet creamy vanilla and fresh, watery touch of violet but... no oud. Unlike it's sister release, Silk Mood, which at least hints at the classical rose-oud combo, Satin feels both less complex and even less challenging with is fairly linear and completely rose dominated profile. Don't get me wrong, it smells rich, smooth and really perfectly blended so it's not hard to see the appeal, but it is definitely a very "safe" scent. Just be careful when spraying as it is brutally strong and the rose could get overpowering fast. It's also without a doubt more feminine than Silk so while I can imagine putting it on for my own pleasure I don't it's the kind of scent I'd wear much to go out, especially not when MFK itself already has a scent that packs this same rose in a fragrance that is both more interesting and also more unisex. All in all, while I would without a doubt choose Silk over this one I still think it's a beautiful rose scent and another solid fragrance from MFK which for me is one of the few (over-) hyped houses that at least to some extent lives up to its praise. Just make sure you know what to expect and disregard the name.

dlane1953

I bought a bunch of samples of this many years ago; I thought that MFK could do not wrong and I wanted to experience examples of rose/oud fragrances that everyone had been raving about. I was WOWED at first. Now, with time and exposure to other rose/oud combos, I'm not impressed. Longevity is impressive, but oud? Not so much of that. Give a sniff to Dusita Perfumes Oud Infini if you want to be bowled over by the power of oud and rose. I'll continue to wear my samples until they're gone, but I'd never buy a FB now that I've laid my nose on the real deal.

Controlledbyscent31

Okay so little story here.... I travelled to London with a list of 50+ niche fragrances to try from roja, kilian, parfum de marly, fredric malle, xerjoff, dior privee & initio.
I already own oud satin mood eau de parfum and absolutely adore it like its my absolute favorite no 1 perfume for sweet, light oud and Rose combo + performance and value for money, so that was already ticked off my list so i wasn't looking to buy any other sweet light oud + rose combo. I say light because I actually cant stand much oud (like oud extrait from this line 🤢) and that's why I think this should of been named something else as the oud is definitely not the most dominant note in either the edp/extrait.

I went to the maison francis counter in selfridges, I tested grand soir which I thought I was going to fall in love with on the first sniff based on the notes, plus the research I'd done and reviews from others.... i was looking for something totally different ... but she also sprayed this extrait on a card ... OH MY WORD, I DIED & WENT TO HEAVEN I couldn't believe it was oud satin mood edp on steroids. I don't know osm could get any better!

I sampled 60+ other niche fragrances that day between selfridges & harrods & it came down to this or delina exclusif from PDM.
This WON 🏆💫 I had to have it, I could not match the nosegasm it gave me 🤣 with any other fragrance I sampled that day, even though I already owned the eau de parfum.

This will be worn for special occasions only, when I go out for dinner or any occassions with my husband as he loves it on me or to a special event.
I am absolutely head over heels in love with this scent 10 out of 10 stars 🌟

Francis k and quentin bische take all my money.

exentricmolecules

smells good but very nauseating due to the lasting power. a very clean smelling oriental spicy fragrance with incredibly strong projection + lasts very (too?) long which induced an insane headache and nausea for me on the first and probably last wear.

ceeceelee

A friend of mine on here encouraged me to take a sniff ~ and wow, I love both, extrait and EdP. The closest I had come to a Kurkdjian rose was L'Extase Rose Nina Ricci series. They don't smell similar to these at all IMO, they are jammy without that gorgeous powdery violet/rose. The oud never takes over, at least on me. I love both, extrait and EdP. The violet added in there just gives it a powdery beauty and compliments the rose so well. I rarely wear the extrait, bc on me it really is quite strong, but when I do I always get compliments. The EdP is my go to everyday right now. It's funny bc I'm not a great fan of his other works, but his roses I love. I caved and bought the bottle.

en_annan

At first when I tried this I was over the moon -- a completely intoxicating scent, strong, powerful, full of nuances. There is more than one rose in this fragrance if that makes sense; the rose notes keep changing from fresh to sweet to dewy and back again. However, it is far too strong for everyday use. Even after a couple of hours, my sister could smell it from half a room away, and the scent really does not leave you alone. That being said, I think Oud Satin Mood Extrait de Perfum would work very well as an evening fragrance at a nightclub. It is luxurious, loud and absolutely beautiful, but it is definitely not something you will want to wear every day at the office.

ladyluckless

There is only one way to wear Oud Satin Mood Extrait de Parfum: spray it once on an item of clothing, put it away for a few days (a week is best), and hope to God that it doesn't Darth Vader Force-choke everyone around you.

Gorgeous, of course. I love rose, I love oud, and there's something about the vanilla and violet that ties it all together. If it wasn't so overwhelming, it would be a signature scent. As it is, I think I'll go sniff the coat I sprayed it on 2 months and enjoy it from that distance.

blackw0lfx

I tried this and yes it does give the same vibe as New York 5th Ave. However I think Oud Satin Mood Extrait has much more rose. Also Oud Satin Mood Extrait is a beast. She is not shy. I think she might be a little loud for me personally, however with a light hand she is very nice. I would say if you are looking for more rose and more bam then try this. I wore in on my shirt with a hoodie over while I worked outside and it was always present for the whole day. If you love this scent one bottle will last a lifetime.

spiceysauce5

Tried this like a year ago, maybe more. Didn’t know oud back then, still don’t but I have a better idea than I did back then. I said I got mostly rose, now I get mostly violet oud with a nice dose of rose.

The violet with subtle amber-spice in the background make this a more feminine take on the oud-rose combo, and as such I think this is a great one for my wife as an evening date perfume. Sweet, almost fluffy airy candy vibe from the violet but dressed up with deep pleasant oud. I do wish it was slightly less sweet, as though it’s balanced out, it make the fragrance a bit more overwhelming, perhaps at a distance it’s better than right off the blotter in that regard.

Edit: dry down started to nauseate me, can’t get along with it.
5/10

okamikiera

The original Oud Satin Mood is already overkill-- which is not helped by the luxuriant sprayers on MFK's bottles-- so this extrait has all the brunt strength of a force choke. The rose-oud theme is softened to the point of blandness and not nearly interesting enough to wear so loudly in my opinion, but this juice will last forever if you like it.

ivanda

Too much thickness of middle east Rose and Oud. I got sick after half an hour and you can not wash this off. Silky, rosy, sweet and chokeing. Beast quality but in the meantime may be beast to society and astma people. Dont blind buy. And One spray may be enough for days.

Kaylovely

Headache, super powder. Good oud but way too powdery. Friend said I smelled like a tree haven't heard that since santal33. Try the EauDP first.

regularguy

HEAVY rose, HEAVY powder, prominent vanilla. Smells like baby lotion. SWEET. I don't get Oud at all

Man, this thing PROJECTS and lasts FOREVER. I wore it to sleep and when I wake up 8+ hours later can still smell it like I just sprayed it. I can't get the smell off my pillow and blankets. The shirt I wore over it still smells flush like the fragrance DAYS later. I wore a hoodie over said shirt and can clearly smell it on the hoodie and I didnt even spray it. I cant even apply a new fragrance this morning because the scent is still so goddamn prominent on my wrists and chest

I don't hate it, but too baby-like for me, personally. But I wish all my EDPs and extraits performed like this. I dont dislike it tho.

vaiva.nenartavičiūtė

I tried these at the perfume shop a week ago on little paper. And I still can smell these so strongly. Projection is super long lasting.I never had more lasting perfume like oud satin mood extrait.I am impressed

Fastidious

The violet is overwhelming, but it may due to me disliking the note. Also, I find the sweetness intolerable. Easy pass for me.

Feralzi

Tried this in a store, one sprit on my wrist. It was honestly so damn strong and powerful, the entire train ride back home from NYC, the scent pierced my mask from an arms-length since it was sprayed on my wrist. It was honestly such a beautiful sweet scent that the girl next to me couldn't stop staring at me, that's how strong it was. This stuff is so potent, one spray can create a whole bubble that can pierce thru your mask. I can't imagine spraying this in a room with 2-4 sprays.

Feminine but the performance and the scent make up for it. If you are a guy, just wear it, because at the end of the day, whoever you're trynna impress, WILL BE IMPRESSED.

Shill Reviews

Love at first sniff. From MFK I expect a good quality scent with weak performance. Oud Satin Mood (Extrait) has monstrous projection and has left me thinking that the classic oud-rose combination should regularly come with violet. Maybe it's because I'm not quite used to violet in fragrances, but my gosh does this feel dramatic to wear. I could imagine princesses in old fairy tales smelling like this.

This fragrance definitely leans feminine, to the point where I see many men turning this away. My biggest complaint for this fragrance is it's strength... it's very loud and smells very high quality. I wouldn't wear this in plain clothes or in a work environment. It feels like a fragrance made specifically for rich, classy women and the places they go. It's not for me to wear but I'm so glad I have a sample because it really is a piece of olfactory art. I'll smell this at home and wear Grand Soir out on the town.

EDIT: Oh no..... oh no oh no..... I changed my rating from a love to a hate unfortunately. Have you ever heard the saying "too much of a good thing"? It's this fragrance. It's still just as sweet and I've smelled it for so long that the sweetness is giving me a headache. 10+ hours later and flowers are a few inches from my nose. I didn't know someday I would actually want olfactory fatigue. All the facets I love about Oud Satin Mood are now problems; I expected it to change and that was my fault. Please get a sample of this before a bottle. If you're anything like me you'll fall in love and out of love with this scent in one wear.

Patricia84

Too much rose. Too sweet. Not for me.

lifnisanders

Oh you dont wanna mess with people who use this as their signature scent. Bought a decant and could smell it before i even open the bottle. The sillage dominates the room and its very strong. Im not familiar with oud yet and i do get the rose scent. Leaves a powdery trail when i sprayed it on my clothes. its like i like it but not really? maybe in later years id appreciate this more.

Djchildress

Okay, I have spent right at two weeks with this fragrance and I think that I'm ready to tackle my review of a "mostly new to niche" fragrance collector's/connoisseurs opinion on this unbelievable masterpiece. First I want to say that I originally ordered Oud Extrait from a seller on ebay and I was sent this by mistake. Upon first finding this out I was outrageously pissed off about it! How could someone be so incompetent as to send me a fragrance that regularly goes for between $80-$100 more than what I ordered? Well, that mistake so favored my experience of what a true luxury fragrance should be that after two days I could no longer be upset about it, and after a week I was most definitely in the feeling of being very grateful for the mistake. Not only did it save me the amount of money mentioned earlier, but it also provided an opportunity that I probably wouldn't have experienced for quite some time if I had not been in the receiving end of the mistake. And I'm sure that the seller probably thought it was going to be a hassle for them as well and when I dropped my return I'm sure that they noticed just how much it had cost them and were most likely upset with me for not going through with the return. Okay, so enough on how lucky I was to be provided with this experience.
So how does this stuff smell? Like a nose-gasm!!! It's the closest any part of your body will ever get to experiencing the amazingly intense and impactful feeling that can normally only come from the reproductive system. Once you have this, your other senses will not only be jealous of those organs but now your olfactory senses as well. It really is "THAT GOOD"!!! While the high amount of naturals used is very apparent from the start, the combination of those two rose oils do cause the scent to lean ever so slightly to the feminine side. Not by much though. The oud/vanilla combo that's used here I would say add just the right amount of masculinity to keep this from being something that only women can pull off. Maybe the geranium and violet are helpful in that regard as well, as you can most definitely get everything listed in the notes when you smell it but absolutely nothing sticks out or steals the show. It's blended to utter perfection and the outright more than silky smooth texture of this scent is what I would say is MFK's defining character. All of the fragrances I've smelled the were perfumed by him have a very smooth feel. Even Le Male and Ultra Male have it. The buttery, powdery and silky smoothness of this fragrance surpasses anything I've known before and I don't expect to have anything surpass it anytime soon. If you are a man and you've been putting off sampling or buying this one due to the fact that a lot of people are saying that it leans heavily feminine or just thinking that the roses in the fragrance is going to be too out there for you to be able to comfortably wear in public, just get a sample!!! You'll thank me later.
Now, about the performance. I only have two fragrances from MFK in my collection and they are the two strongest fragrances that I own. Both are extraits, Oud Extrait and then this one, Oud Satin Mood Extrait. This is the stronger of the two. But both are fragrances that project for at the very minimum 4 hours with a softer projecting sillage easily making it another 6-8 hours. It'll be a skin scent until washed off and will be on clothing even after being washed. It's a loud fragrance for sure but in absolutely no way is it ever even close to being obnoxious in it's intensity. It's always there and it's presence is definitely noticed but without assaulting anyone olfactivly. It's a fragrance that is like a nice warm hug and yet it also has a lot of class and sophistication. Perfect for a night out on the town or a night at home with a good movie, it's right at home with formal attire or sweats and a t-shirt.
This is probably the best Oud and Rose fragrance on the market at this time. Performance is as good as it gets, so I'd say that as long as you can get a 70ml bottle for $325 or less it's worth every penny. I paid $220 for mine and at that price this is possibly the best fragrance you can buy. The rich, opulent, buttery, silky smoothness of this fragrance is only matched by it naturalness and competence. While this is definitely geared toward cooler weather, I have no issues with wearing this on summer nights out as long as it's not very humid or hot. If you want to experience true luxury perfumery in our modern times, or just want to smell like a million bucks, then look no further. This is the epitome of what niche fragrances can be. Definitely an 11/10!

macadamia.1

It is my signature scent . My big love !

Belli9

we know the feeling when you put something on yourself and then after a while you ask yourself what smells so good here... based on that, I choose my signature from my own collection...why is it no longer produced???

Poetry in motion

This stunning masterpiece could be the best Amber-Rose-Oud in the world. MFK does nothing to dispel the wide-held belief that he is indeed one of the greatest perfumers alive in the world today.

The scent itself is constructed with at least 11 ingredients, immense precision - that can blur your vision of one ingredient. Instead, it blends into a sweet, tangy, buttery smooth scent that is very unisex and signature scent worthy. Almost like Cashmere. Indeed, Rose, Ambery Vanilla and the hint of Oud are the main notes. This is why luxury cannot be underestimated but will welcome competition. A similar scent that is as luxurious but not quite at the same level is Roja’s Amber Aoud. This MFK extrait is enduring, like fine poetry it will move you, and inspire you, possibly transcend you to a different land. There is nothing harsh or overbearing and no sharp corners or straight lines on this journey. Finally, on your journey to find the best of the best - make sure you visit this scent, you will not be disappointed.

I get monster performance from both EdP and Extrait.

Extrait has more of a green rose stem combined with the jammy petals and slightly more medicinal oud comes through with a beautiful creamy vanilla.

Edp has more violet, it’s a lot more powdery and gives off an almost gourmand feel with the chocolate powdery vanilla that pumps off my skin. I don’t have that same experience with the Extrait.

Both ridiculously amazing and intense experiences, one more gourmand leaning than the other.

I personally layer both, but i’m just crazy like that.

NOSEYBODY

I don’t know how people are missing the Oud. It’s dark, woody, & oily. It’s almost in the vein of a Montale style Oud.

This is a very sweet fragrance. Like rich & syrupy sweet, but it’s not sickly sweet. And the sweetness pair’s very well with the combination of Roses.

I’m sure the cinnamon is there but it’s such a thick fragrance I can’t detect any spices.

Edit: So I wore it again, & this time on a much cooler evening. I did pick up on the Cinnamon. It wasn’t strong, but it was just enough to give the impression of a dark woody Cinnamon Roll that’s been slathered in Rose Jam & drowned in sweet vanilla icing.

Trust everyone who says this is a beautiful fragrance. Trust everyone who says the performance is the equivalent of a Nuclear Winter.

Seriously folks, 1 spray is 2 sprays too much. It’s strength is formidable.

It’s perfectly unisex. And it’s wearers will surely command the attention in any room.

Any fans of Oud Satin Mood Etrait will no doubt enjoy Ex Nihilo “Midnight Special”.

IAmStaka

Smells like burned steak, marinated with a caramelized rose.
Not my cup of tea. I prefer the EDP.

buonobi

I just love this smell.
I keep smelling it again & again, on my arm, on the testing paper.
Rose with Oud and a little spicy and smoky smell. Just what I'm looking for.
The sillage is great and long lasting.

Irenicus

Heed the warnings of the other reviewers about how strongly this fragrance projects. I just tested a sample at work, and now my entire office smells like turkish delight!

The scent is perfect and projection is incredible, but this definitely leans feminine.

santaloud

Tiziana Terenzi Alioth is much more interesting than this one and much more masculine !

Bachi

This is one of the most complex, delicious, sophisticated perfumes I have tried. At first, I was unsure about the scent. After the dry down, I was pleased with the scent. After about an hour, I was hooked. The various notes started to come through and as the perfume evolved, I could not stop smelling my wrist. It's a beautiful perfume, reminiscent of long, warm, languid evenings. Lovely, simply lovely.

RisingChaos

Strong, cleaner rose opening compared to the EDP. As it dries down, it takes on a bit of that "dirtier" accord from the oud, more similar to the EDP, but without the rose fading away and the addition of a soft cinnamon that elevates the fragrance to another level. There's not a better dark, sexy rose out there. Perfect evening complement in my collection to Atomic Rose for a simple, two-fragrance collection if you wanted to be the "rose guy" (or gal). The price, though... Ouch.

But it's worth it. "Nuclear" doesn't even begin to describe the performance. This thing can fill a room with 1-2 sprays for 10+ hours and it persists as a skin scent for 16hr+. I'm sure it lasts even longer, but eventually I have to stop keeping time and take a shower. Clothes will hold the scent for weeks just from rubbing against covered skin, so probably don't spray directly unless you're okay with never wearing your clothes with other fragrances again.

Alinah

Very strong, sweet, evening cloud. Last on the skin forever, near offensive. Rose on it could be screaming sometimes. Go with a mood. Choose occasions with care. Others could be poisoned easily.

amagdalene

WOW. The Oud Satin Mood Extrait is STRONG! Literally the strongest scent I've ever experienced! One tiny little squirt is immediately overwhelming, but not in a bad way. You are absolutely consumed by an overpowering cloud of powdery roses; blanketed by the most beautiful rose notes in any fragrance I've ever smelled!! Like, true rose. Truest rose. The rosiest rose that ever did rose. It reminds me of these amazing little rose flavored candies my childhood best friend used to bring back from her family's trips to Mexico. It's an antique rose, the absolute best take on such an iconic smell. Amazingly enough the Oud Satin Mood Extrait doesn't have quite the lasting power of the BR540 Extrait, although it is initially so much stronger. This lasts 6+ hours for me with enormous sillage, whereas the BR540 extrait lasts over 12 hours with a moderate sillage. Needless to say I am still very impressed by it. If you love roses, you will love this fragrance!

Mvcarreon

No difference from the EDP. Should’ve just bought the EDP instead

Edit: This is one of
— if not THE strongest scent I own. The EDP was an on & off affair. This one lasts forever.

I cannot spray more than once, or even anywhere near my nose because it violates my nostrils!

A pair of trousers I wore a couple of days ago was still projecting from the laundry bin

But it’s amazing. Smells like royalty!

Love it from first sniff ❤️❤️

Inconucopia

One spray on my right forearm (my wrist and antecubital fossa are sensitive to fragrances) was all it took.
I wanted to try it on before I sleep and whoa, my entire study room became enveloped in the beautiful scent of roses. Oud plays a supportive role in this composition, where it soothes and smoothen out the rose accords used in OSME.

I echo the same observations of "one spray being enough", I am truly surprised at this enveloping scent of beautiful roses.
In my current collection of extraits, this is the most impactful one of all. (against OUD and 540)

24/05/2021 edit: this one I find to be reserved for more special occasions in the evening, I would reach for OUD Extrait, Masculin Pluriel, or L'Homme A La Rose for a more casual/versatile approach to MFK fragrances. Might get a big bottle of OUD EDP to make my extrait last longer and not run out as quickly.

Charlize2014

I enjoyed this perfume and I must say it is expensive, but you get what you pay for, smelling like this, you can never complain you have financial problems :)). However I prefer Tom Ford Noir de Noir, the rose in it it’s my cup of tea.

cherylaf

At first it's a blast of powdery, jammy roses. Dry down the oud comes through and blends.
Agreed with other reviewers that you only need one spritz, any more is overkill because this frag radiates. I see how it's unisex - it makes me feel incredibly feminine and sexy, but at the same time I would love to smell it on a man.

It's totally magical and transportive, I do think 1001 Nights or a masquerade.. In modern times, I think this would be a great fancy date fragrance.

I definitely recommend at least picking up a sample to try! Not a blind buy for me simply because I don't have that kind of money, but I will of course pine for this until I can afford a full bottle.

Dimitris.G.

This is a rose oud masterpiece!! 1001 nights in a bottle.. Pure Magic for rose and oud lovers.. Its 10/10 for me ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Cocoleo

Today I layered it with Santal Royal by Guerlain, 1 spray each, and it was simply divine. If you have both the fragrances please try it!

spiceysauce5

I get powdery rose with a faint hint of what might be oud, but honestly I'm not sure if that what i'm smelling, as i'm uninitiated to the smell of oud.

I wish i noticed before ordering samples that the extrait is more rose-centric and less vanillic, as this is like super rose overload for me, and I find it very feminine

Edit: most resilient scent I've encountered. I say resilient, not strongest, as it is fluffy and airy as all mfk's that I've tried are. But it lingers forEVER. Sprayed on elbow of sleeve, wore coat 5 hours later, next day out on coat 24 hrs later, and smelled a very potent smell on the coat, and my bare elbow as well. Wow

ginandrice

Oud Satin Mood Extrait is a sweet, jammy rose fragrance, backed up by smooth, powdery oud. The oud is not at all harsh or medicinal, here. In fact, it’s so soft and powdery that, to my nose, it takes on an almost wheaty scent. There’s also a subtle green note in the mix, like the stem of the rose is in there too.

There’s a while during the dry down where OSME seems to lack unity. The jammy rose sits on top, while the dry, wheaty oud comprises the base, but they seem reluctant to blend. But eventually, the rose mellows enough for the cinnamon and vanilla to come forward, unifying the rose and oud with warmth and creaminess.

As for the differences between the Extrait and the EDP, the Extrait is sharper, greener, and jammier. The EDP is smoother and more unified, but personally I prefer the Extrait, as I find the EDP gets soft and dry too quickly for my liking.

gnrattlerjr

Found a way to negotiate a brand new bottle for $200 and there is no way FK can be this good. If I could only have one bottle from my collection, this would be the one. I have smelled the EDP. It is spectacular.....but this extrait?! Yes lawd.... two different types of rose notes which blend so well together. You are guaranteed to have someone notice how good you smell....

Serpentarius

Maison Kurkdjian squeezed the sap from a Rumi poem and put it in a bottle. I only have a 5ml that I rarely wear but often sniff the atomizer. This is rich, intoxicating, and addictive. 2 sprays max, as it lasts forever and will easily fill a room. You want to be noticed? Wear this. The vanilla, rose, and oud play this lovely game of tag where each is only "it" for so long.

I rated it overpriced because I wish it was cheaper for a full bottle, but it is worth every penny. It is well-blended and extremely high quality...there's an artistry in this that goes beyond the notes involved. However, if you don't like vanilla, or rose, or oud, this isn't for you. I love vanilla and oud but this is the first rose I've encountered sucks my soul from my body. It's like a succubus rose, a sex pistil if you will.

I understand why its categorized as feminine-leaning, as I had that first reaction to Dior Homme Intense. It's the powdery accord I'm pretty sure and the rose. But the oud anchors this one from drifting too far out from unisex. This isn't blind-buy safe by any stretch, but if you like Dior Homme Intense, it's worth a 5ml.

10/10, full bottle worthy (it would last a lifetime), perfect for a date or special occasion on a cool evening. For men, 30+...it projects an aura of refined taste and class. You should probably at least be wearing a blazer or collared button up.

fragrancechamp

Whilst rose is the most prominent note in this, my skin seems to amplify it and nothing else. I get a very sweet, jammy rose that smells beautiful, although seems rather unidimensional. If I lean in close I can smell a very faint oud, but from a distance it’s just a sweet rose.

An expensive full bottle blind buy. It’s not horrible by any means, just not exactly what I was expecting. Performance on me was around 6 hours, I didn’t experience this beast mode that I previously read about.

It’s pretty universal, I can’t see this offending anybody, and I’d suggest more of an evening and formal wear type of fragrance.

7/10 overall.

Perfume_madness

Just tried this tonight. I got a travel size and omg I am in love!!!! Its one of the best fragrances I've ever smelled. Sillage is amazing! Lasts forever! At $375 I'll be saving my coin for quite a a Long time but I will own this!!! Amazing!

tulpe

Have travel spray from the discovery sett for women. Strange perfume, my skin amplifies the violet/ oud/ geranium combo, , I can detect just tiny amount off rose and vanilla. Very strange and sad. But very unique though.

aaronmilic

This and Cashmere Mood are the only "Extrait's" I have in my collection. While I do like Cashmere Mood just a bit more, this one is the strongest performer in my entire collection.

I don't normally love Rose but man, this is one of those smells you could describe as classic smelling dirty sexy candy. Something about it also reminds me of my childhood but can't place it.

I work in the wedding industry so this is my go to for work as it's always a special formal, dressed up occasion. I wear this in the cooler months and then Clive Christian 20 Masculine in the warmer months. This would be absolutely foul in hot weather. And to be clear, this is not an everyday fragrance, at least to me.

I feel this stuff should come with a warning though... ONE spray. And I mean one. I once sprayed this early in the day and decided to "refresh" right before leaving for work and, well, that was a mistake. It actually smells pretty awful if you overspray. Also, this will still be on you the next day. If you spray this on your clothes, it will be there forever.

So if you're wondering why this comes with such a heavy price tag... one spray for 24 hours easy, if not more.

Sadly, I'm still waiting for my first compliment on this one. Also my wife hates it but she hates all Rose fragrances. I have an Oud Rose candle that smells like Satin Mood which she won't let me light. That was money well spent! But hey, at least she doesn't come to work with me! ;-)

bdragonfly12345

Spraying this from a sample vial, I think I like this better than the EDP (which I have in the travel spray).

It's lovely, and I would say just a hair on the "feminine" side, although it would be phenomenal on a guy! I smell Oud most prominently (just a whiff of barnyard at the immediate opening), and slightly more "amber" than "rose". It lasts very well, and projects for a really good long time.

If money was no object, I would buy the largest bottle of this (plus a back-up) in a second! :)

returnatyourperil

in the opening, this has less of that jammy rose that can be found in the EDP. though their drydowns have some similarities, this screams unisex/masculine more than the EDP - the EDP is unisex/feminine leaning to my nose. the extrait has more oud during the middle stage. the extrait also has somewhat better/stronger projection, and there is a cinnamon note in the drydown that im not getting in the EDP. i prefer the EDP due to the benzoin in that one, but the extrait is not bad, just okay. actually, the cinnamon note gets really strong in the drydown and has more presence than the oud and rose (on my skin atleast)

though there is a prominent cinnamon note not found in the EDP, this resembles the EDP way more than oud silk mood extrait resembles the EDP of that same line.

MushroomGroge5711

This is so nice. Got a sample and I really like it, combo of wood + rose. So nice, just wish the full bottles are cheaper :)

perfume4everyone

After I have it almost a year, i can say something smart about it.
To me, differences between extrait and edp are only in the opening, and first half hour, after that there are no big differences between these 2. Extrait maaaaybe 10 % leaning to the masculine side. And in the opening it's not so sweet like edp.

Drydown very similar to edp, and i think that almost no one can smell the difference between them.

Exrtrait on my skin is not super long lasting like on everybody else, with nice, not super strong, projection, for 4-6 hours, and i get about 8-10 hours of longevity. For sillage i relly don't know because no one told me that i smell nice.

Really nice elegant luxurious smell, which sometimes can be cloying and boring, two days of wearing it and then i want to wear something totally different.

Peptis Nobilis

You love it or you hate it... I love it!
I think this is not not for people who do not enjoy special scents.
I love to wear this even when I go to bed, it makes me feel cosy and warm. Can't stop smelling my scarf when I wear this during the day... it's a rich scent for niche noses.

salespo612

One of the few truly special fragrances on the market that’s worth the high price tag. I prefer this more than the edp, as it is far less cloyingly sweet. The opening to the extrait is much smokier and darker than the edp, and it takes some time for the sweetness of the rose to come through (albeit not overdone). Some may feel the opening is harsh, and I would see where they’re coming from, but give it some time because the dry down is remarkable. This also lasts 24 hours plus with great projection.

Mfk really did a great job with his oud line. I’m also a huge fan of Oud extrait. Great stuff all around

Please do not rate the negative reviews down just because you do not agree with them, that does't help people when blind buying at all..

What makes us unique is our differences so if someone does't like what you like doesn't mean they are wrong.. and remember you are wrong to them as well..

Please Do not blind buy based on positive reviews only, and remember there are as equal negative reviews as positive only some people get offended and rate them down and these reviews always get removed..

Please keep negative reviews at least unrated..

I wish I read more negative reviews about this one before I blind buy it..

exxellence

Such a gorgeous scent. I love it.

It's so nice on my wife and mother, not on me tho. Maybe I'm old school (Or I should say "We are" since wifey and all my friends and fam feel the same way about it) but it's not unisex, like at all. I tried it on once and I felt like Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada all day. It's a straight up woman (and not girl) frag to my nose, nothing masculine about it, the only type of men I could see wearing it is the Stanley Tucci type from the same movie.

Anyway, Beautiful, very sexy and sensual scent + CRAZY Projection & sillage + CRAZY longevity = my favorite MFK after Grand Soir which is still #1.

mrkgyr

If you have kids, this scent will remind you of diapers. I respect it... but straight up, it smells like a new diaper.

BridgesofMadisonCounty

I REALLY don't get this at all. Even now as I type this I am desperate to jump into the shower and wash it off. It is beyond bad. Earlier today, I put it on. No. 1 Son arrived and asked who is wearing that ghastly perfume. Not for me.

NataliNatali510

Whoa, this not simply a stronger version of OSM EdP. The Extrait is a differently balanced composition, which comes across harsher and more oudy on my skin. Whereas the EdP is unisex to my nose, the Extrait leans strongly in the masculine direction. As a woman, I find it too harsh. I would love to smell this on a silver fox in his mid-fifties. However, personally, I cannot wear it and have no desire to add it to my collection.

Tray Brook

I blind-bought...yes...blind-bought this fragrance based off the YouTube reviews. I absolutely love this scent. It’s weird because it’s not my favorite scent...nor do I wear it often, but when I do, I just love how it projects. I wouldn’t even say it’s in my top 5 smelling frags, but if I had to keep only 5, it would make the list. Crazy how that works huh? Lol.

Chesco

Sitting here at home, first sniff.
Dense. Sweet rose musked-up, some vanilla, but a different kind of cooking vanilla, might be synthetic white vanilla absolute. Not sure but does have a slight synthetic vibe to the ingredients. Potent in a good way, beast-mode!
Quality is there! Smells like this has been done before.
Only 70ml is a blatant rip-off disrespect to customers, horrible trend!
This has a late 80's early 90's woman in her mid 30's scent to it, reminds me of my mom when i was a young child tbh.
Id recommend this for women, unless your the type of guy that has a fem personality where you can pull this off. Def not a blind buy. There is also a grapefruit or citrus note in here to brighten it up, but not listed in the scent note pyramid, but it's one of the best notes in here actually! Getting a bit of powder, im thinkin lavender too?

This frag deserves to exist, but not hype worthy.
To me as a man, this is not exciting or addicting, so with that concluded, it's a pass for me. But nice scent, nothing special. The best thing about this is either the quality of ingredients and blending.
I wouldn't complain if i smelt this on a girl i had a crush on.
MFK has one of the best AUTHENTIC fresh cut rose scents my green nose has smelt to date. But this frag smells too sweet, that takes away from the natural scent of the rose - a little bit, and tbh, it makes it a bit cloying. Not a fan of 'Jamming a Rose' with sweetness as rose is naturally sweet to the olfactory.
There is also spices in this, but very little blended amounts so it's not easily detected.
Nice frag but not exciting enough for me to buy/wear.

3/5 Woofs!

Got a sample of this from the perfumer's website because I was interested by the description. I sprayed it on the paper pamphlet it came in because I wasn't sure how I would like it. I let my coworkers smell it and every single woman, aged 30-60, loved it. They tried it on before going home and came back the next day saying it was just too strong for them. I love strong perfume so I wore it the following weekend out on a boat ride. I would get whiffs of it during the day and found it quite pleasant. Not sure I will buy it for myself because of the price tag. The rose stands out in a mature way but it is more modern than an "old lady" rose.

cow paddy

I hope you like bubblegum because you get some hubba bubba delight out of this...for 12 hours.

Magnoliah

I'm so surprised that I love this! Upon first spray, I didn't like it at all. It was too heavy for my liking. But it gradually became soft and powdery. The longevity is great on me, can't say much about the sillage, though . Now I'm also curious about the EDP version. Which one leans more feminine and which one do you guys enjoy more?

michael.salazar89

to start with, all of the oud fragrances i have tried i have not enjoyed even a little bit because it gives me this nasueous scent and it is very unpleaseant. As for satin mood, this is one oud fragrance i can see myself wearing. Very soft and floral. Will be purchasing a bottle for sure

I fell in love with Oud Extrait by MFK a couple of years ago, and it remains my favorite oud-based fragrance to this day. It took me some more time to try the other perfumes in the collection, and for the most part, I was unimpressed. Then I smelled Satin Mood, and was immediately smitten.

This is the darkest of jammy roses, a nightshade rose, a vampiric rose, a rose whose green vitality has been fixed, inverted, crystallized into a lustrous garnet bloom through the introduction of rich, woody-medicinal oud of the highest quality. The intense violet—a crystalline bell jar—adds a cool, clean, melancholic powder, and the vanilla and sandalwood form the creamy-smoky base, an incredible mahogany plinth supporting the central gemstone.

There is a brooding elegance here, a quiet victory, a knowing smile tinged with sadness. Oud Satin Mood Extrait is such a beautiful fragrance, showcasing the rose and oud in a surprisingly even-handed way. It is unique and daring, surpassing more conventional treatments of rose (like that of Silk Mood) yet never becoming overwhelming or indelicate (as can Velvet Mood). This is definitely more formal and a bit heavier, so I'd avoid wearing it in high heat.

Another Kurkdjian masterpiece.

flowers-in-the-springtime

This is OUD for people who don't like OUD. It is a delicate, pretty, floral (gorgeous roses), dare I say it? feminine perfume. There is a little wood, a little sweetness and a little oud. My only gripe with this, other than the price, is that it doesn't last all that long on me and doesn't have a massive sillage.
10/10 for gorgeousness
5/10 for projection
5/12 for longevity

17seyed

I never thought I'd say this about an oud based fragrance, but this smells delicious.

Oud Satin Mood Extrait is very unique and masterfully blended. Francis Kurkdjian's perfumery skills are gloriously showcased here with the way that all of these heavy and proud notes are arranged together to create a harmonically beautiful fragrance.

The oud, the vanilla, the cinnamon, the different types of rose. Creating a fragrance with these notes that does not come off as an edgy, hamfisted attempt at creating a "voluminous" fragrance can be very challenging, but Kurkdjian has handled it well here.

I hate jammy rose notes, I hate skanky and bitter oud notes, but this fragrance is among the very few ones where I adore the rose and oud combination. The vanilla really ties everything together here. Who knew that a gourmand touch would take this fragrance to a level beyond regular olfactory experience? It weirdly reminds of the most delicious Persian pastry.

The only downside to this fragrance is that once you've sprayed it, you have to commit to the scent for around 2 days. It simply refuses to go away even if you vigorously scrub it under the shower.

Samparkerat

This is such a beautiful perfume.

It does conjure a black satin evening affair: dressy, elegant, warm, inviting...and it also has some aspect that reminds me of a cold, snowy night...something crisp and bracing and sweet that makes me inhale deeply because it is so lovely and special.

Just gorgeous.

RottigrlNYC

I have a 10ml decant of this one and am really loving it . I’d love to buy a full bottle of this extrait, if anyone doesn’t want theirs and is willing to sell it, please contact me. Or maybe we can swap. I have quite a few bottles of Tom Ford. Thank u

SweetBriar

This one is more cotton candy to me than Baccarat Rouge. But the geranium, rose, and oud keep it from being too sweet. The cotton candy goes away soon and the rose, incense, and powder remain. I think this leans more feminine. I think I would like this more if the cotton candy stayed.

piyux

Oud Satin Mood has a simple composition yet, the aroma that the opening projects are very pleasant. The fragrance opens with a strong floral and oud tones that are very aromatic. Roses and violets seem to be the most predominant floral tones. The oud found in this fragrance is very refined, highly aromatic, very projecting but also very polished, this oud tone is far from the dark or pungent oud found in other fragrances. The vanilla and amber combine themselves adding an aromatic sweetness and powdery accord that boosts projection; finally, the Ceylon cinnamon is just a soft tone that seems to go well with the oud but it is not strong. Once Oud Satin Mood Extrait has reached its full dry-down, it can be summarized as a sweet, highly projecting refined oud and roses fragrance with some spicy and ambery accords. The fragrance feels clean, modern, elegant, refined, formal, sophisticated, inviting, unique, unisex, high-quality, nicely blended, and very pleasant.

Batch reviewed: 2020
Wow Rating: 10/10. This is an impressive fragrance.
Dislike Rating: 2/10. The oud, although very refined, could be offensive to some people.
Uniqueness: 10/10. Common tones but the result is a highly unique fragrance.
Mass Appeal: 8/10. Not the most mass-appeal fragrance but it scores very high.
Projection: 6/10. Very good, about six feet around the wearer.
Sillage: 8/10. Excellent, about 8 feet and beyond behind the wearer. This fragrance falls within the so-called “beast-mode” realm.
Application: two to four atomizations. It is unlikely that more atomizations will make the fragrance offensive buy it will become very invasive.
Longevity: 5/10. Very good, about six hours.
Seasons: Spring, fall, winter, colder days, and climate-controlled environments.
Occasions: Formal events, outdoor gatherings, casual, holidays, home, romantic, dating. In moderation this could be an office-friendly fragrance.
Versatility: 8/10. The fragrance is well suited for multiple occasions.
Gender: Unisex. From a simplified perspective, this fragrance is the combination of two opposite notes, one very masculine (the oud) and one very feminine (the roses). It would not be surprising that some men find it too feminine and some women find it too masculine.
Ages: 30 and above.
Recommendation: The fragrance comes with a high price tag but its outstanding performance, refined tones, and pleasant aroma make of Oud Satin Mood a great buy. However, this fragrance isn’t alone in this genre, and if the price is a problem, other houses provide more affordable oud and floral options.
Blind-Buy: No, sample it first, the oud and roses are strong and need to be assessed personally.
Similar: Although many fragrances feature oud, not many feature oud, and roses. Here some examples. Tom Ford Noir De Noir, includes roses, patchouli, vanilla and oud tones which makes it sweeter; Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade EDP by Louis Vuitton features roses and oud, a great fragrance as well; Mancera Gold Prestigium features oud, roses, orange blossoms, and sweet accords; Mancera Black to Black is perhaps the closest to Oud Satin Mood, it also features strong roses and oud accords.
Summary: A sweet, highly projecting refined oud and roses fragrance with some spicy and ambery accords. The fragrance feels clean, modern, elegant, refined, formal, sophisticated, inviting, unique, unisex, high-quality, nicely blended, and very pleasant.

Just got my blindbuy bottle and in the honeymoon period. Feel like I can wear this forever. Feel like I want to make it a signature scent. It's sweet as has been said but not sickly sweet. One spray is too strong for summer heat so Ill wear it at home at night until it gets down to 70 degrees. The oud is just a backbone and lacks skank or barn. The oud is melded into the violet which its powderiness in turn is countered by spice bite from cinnamon and geranium. Geraniol also keeps the roses from being 'too grand'. It's playful, has candied aspects, but overall it can smell good anytime for anyone over 18. Control those sprays! Two sprays in winter is probably enough for the whole day

semisweet

This is my favorite fragrance by far!
It smells so comforting to me, incredibly smooth, not offensive at all as can happen with some oud fragrances. I can get away with wearing this to most occasions by using the smallest amount. Otherwise it will attract a lot of attention.
However I do not consider this a unisex fragrance, it smells quite feminine to me.

onlyonline1

Is it a date scent? No.

Is it an office scent? Hell No!

Is it a casual scent? Just get Outta here!!

MFK has created Oud Satin Mood for the grandest of occasions. Think of a royal Indian wedding or a grand Eid/Diwali festival, this is a scent only for those special occasions.

OSM has amazing longevity and out-of-the-world projection. This is not meant to be worn in confined spaces, be warned.

The only, and perhaps a great downside of this fragrance is the versatility. I cannot think of wearing OSM except in a majestic setting.

Basema

I love this perfume. It reminds me of Ajmal's oud body powder. Reminds me of the late 80s and 90's when I couldn't afford to buy the expensive Oud oil so Ajmal's oud body powder was the closiest to it. Memories of my teenage years

adinat

Extremely beautiful, gorgeous perfume!! Monstrous longevity, I get more than 12hrs, enormous sillage, I leave perfume trails behind me.

It is my most complimented perfume, people get crazy over this!

Another masterpiece from MFK, hands down to one of his best creations ever!

Overall note: 10/10.

When I first tried it, it was exactly like edp, but after a few more wearings there is a difference. First of all, this extrait has more masculinity in it, and there is no creaminess like there is in edp version.
When you spray it on skin there is some green note in the background.
Longevity... hmmmm, I can't get like everyone else 24 hours, i get about 6-8 hours unfortunately, and projection is good for about 1,5-2 hours.
On the edp i get 12+ hours of longevity and projection at least 6 hours.

Here's where I come from, so that my review is put on a broader perspective :I always loved perfumes. But up until a few years ago fruity floral bombs were the only perfumes I got. Later I developed a taste for darker, spicier ones. Along came the longing for something more spectacular my olfactory buds could be high on :)
Upon reading comments and doing some research I thought I could earn my "masters degree" in perfumes by studying a classic like Mr Kurkdjian and oud - an essence which I found intriguing but far from what my smell buds were used to.
So I blindly bought this! ...
First five seconds I can definitely sense the fruity quality to it but that's just about it.
Then the first hour is where I struggle the most. You know how vanilla pods' seeds smell bitter until they are diluted and reveal the sweetest smell?
The same with this perfume. It's so bitter at first, I feel it on the back of my tongue, where the bitter taste buds are. Does anyone get that?
Now if I can power through it, the next few hours are as sweet as sweet can be. I have never met such sweetness anywhere, it's just intoxicating. Jammy rose, vanilla, all of it!
A colleague commented at work it smells like scented sticks, but it wasn't offensive. Another colleague commented on how it was another league.
Mr Kurkdjian is just another level for any of those amateurs asking. Bless him!
I really hope I can get the best of this perfume and being able to wear it without getting headaches and without it getting the best of me!
Definitely need to wear this in cooler weather as the sweet accords might warm up the crisp temperatures. Can't wait to test in frozen weather as of now it's mostly spring.
As a juxtaposition I had to acquire Baccarat rouge which has the most airy, clean smell:)

This is a wonderful scent, rose done to perfection.
Masterfully blended with the amber vanilla and cinnamon.
Longevity is hours long, maybe days!
Bottle worthy....yes

A big rose whose fabulously tasty jammy character dissipates the moment it touches my skin. So unfortunate. What remains instead is a rather sweet rosy woody accord with a slightly medicinal pose that almost operates on the verge of the unlikeable.

Lancôme did something similar with Rôses Berberanza, and my nose tells me they did it far better. Monsieur Kurkdjian is one of my favourite perfumers but when it comes to his own house, besides the beastly beauty of Absolue Pour le Soir, everything that I have tried so far is one big quality meh. But a quality one it is.

Maybe it's just me, but Oud Satin Mood smells like a lychee candy. All the MFK fragrances are unbearably sweet to me. It's definitely a beautiful scent. Maybe I'll come to appreciate these more someday, but they're just too sweet. MFK Oud was my favorite of the whole line.

OH
MY
GOD
Yesterday, I entered mom’s dressing room and I was testing her fragrances while talking with her and she stopped me and told me “please take the extrait version the gold one and leave me the EDP, I want my son to smell like a mansion made of gold”, Mom after wearing this I know what you mean.
Guys you need to have this gem once in your life.

this is not a fragrance, it's ARTS.
no more than 1 spray.

Longevity of over 18 hours. Projection for 7.
Smells like persian ice cream without being "gourmand".

Utter perfection, special occasion only. Half spray is enough.

Value, 7/10 retail.

Wow this is beautiful. It’s one of those scents that ticks so many boxes. Slightly clean smelling on account of the violet- a little jammy and fairly sweet I believe from the vanilla but of course the main player here is the beautiful rose present throughout this olfactory journey. I feel this scent definitely leans feminine and smells beautiful. So refined and elegant and classy. I wish my girlfriend loved it as I do so I could smell it on her. This is so so good! Oh and it lasts quite a long time with BIG projection! One of my favorites I’ve tried from the house of MFK so far.

Edit: Upon further wearing I’ve noticed an accord that seems to come from this fragrance: tea. I think the freshness of the violet mixed with the other notes creates an illusion of tea. Now that I’ve noticed it I can’t unnotice it. It has similarities to the tea note in Wulong Cha. It’s a litchi/hibiscus or a fruity variety of tea to my nose.

MFK Oud Satin Mood (both extrait and edp) top my list of most complimented fragrances especially when family and friends hug me. The compliment is always, "You smell so good!"

I'm a huge fan of niche fragrances and have an appreciation for oud. Satin Mood was a complete surprise to me as an oud fragrance. I am also not a fan of sweet fragrances but over time I was won over. The longevity is unbeatable.

One day an uber driver asked what fragrance I wore. I was surprised since I sat in the backseat and wasn't immediately near him. He described it to be soft like a whisper yet smooth like wine.

It's this richly sweet, dense fog of powdery roses. I tend to think of it as an experimental Rose-themed flanker of Dior Homme Intense that somehow escaped the lab.

Full Bottle. No questions. Full Bottle.

This is not a rose oud i am almost certain theres no oud in this at all. All i get is vanilla and amber and its done really well. I actually really enjoyed this one, really nice amber heavy fragrance. Performance and sillage again really nice and will probably buy a full bottle after my 10ml sample runs out but still confused why they called this oud satin 😂 oh well who cares I enjoy it anyway 😃

It fits me well. Love the fragrance intensity, I love such perfume when I feel myself as well on me as usually you don t feel on you but this one works. Smg very special, people notice you with the fragrance. Longevity is more than excellent, around after 12 hrs wearingtime is still there. I love this fragrance, well done.

It has beautiful qualities but it’s a super super sweet fruity-ish lychee kind of vibe rose-gourmand scent. Not sweet in a cheap yummy youthful path but sensual dreamy alluring kind of way. Definitely seductive.

The first time I wore this the rose seemed to strong. Then the second time I wore it I was able to smell the other notes. Very strong, you only need a couple of sprays. Not good for the office, as you might get complaints.

Wearing this, two people told me that I smelt lovely, and one said I smelt like baby talcum powder. So, not everybody enjoyed it, but I certainly did. It is quite a unisex scent, the oud is rather medicinal and herbal. I found that when I inhaled from my wrist directly the oud note was too overwhelming, but the whole composition was lovely as it wafted around me all evening in a warm and sweet ambery cloud. As rose and oud combos go, this is a good one but I must say I prefer Jo Malone since it's more feminine and rosy.

This really reminds me of Roja Amber Aoud.
