I usually dont write negative reveiws. To me there is no rose. This perfume smells to me soley of papyrus. Reminds me of an old moldy book store

arefuthescroob

Comforting, cosy, woody rose. Although, quite heavy, so beware.
This is what I wanted Montale’s Aoud Flowers to be (the oud over there was too much for me)

Ferg1

I ordered Silk mood Extrait online based on Silk mood Edp which i tested in store, i found it gorgeous. But thank god i didn't open it and drove a little bit to test the Extrait in a shop. Too dry, herbal and somehow animalic especially in the opening. The Edp is much smoother and i get the oud/rose combo a lot more than in the Extrait, the edp has the sweetness that i needed from this fragrance. The Extrait is a big and easy pass for me but the Edp smells fantastic and i bought a full bottle, couldn't resist.

You have to be careful with those Extrait/Edp versions because they don't smell exactly the same way, it's not only a thing of perfume concentration and performance, the scents are different, some more than others. I own BR540 extrait and never smelled the Edp until like a week ago, and i prefer the smell of the Edp. Satin Mood and the normal Oud are much better in Extrait version in the other hand.

Such a let down on performance, I don’t understand how people are saying it’s a beast. First 2 hours full on sillage/projection, after that a skin scent. The oud satin mood extriat seems superior.

When you’re spending big money on perfume it’s gotta perform somewhat well.

Ricks44

From the all the oud rose fragrances I own and have tested in the last 10 years or so, this is my favourite. Its just everything I'd want in an oud/rose combo. A lot of others are great but I always find an element of them that I dont appreciate too much. This is just oud and rose done to perfection. Beautifully balanced and the quality is superb. It just screams mystery and elegance. I dont see oud rose fragrances as feminine or masculine. Theyre the most unisex fragrances for me and on the right person with the right style, just cut a level above other fragrances.

Just got my 2nd bottle of this and I own at least another 15-20 rose oud combo's. Id happily get rid of them all and keep this as my only rose oud. But I wont, cause I dont have to haha.

However, i struggle to wear any of my others now, simply because they feel inferior to oud silk mood extrait.

I do like the EDP and plan on picking it up. For me this is superior and the dry down of the edp, for me it falls apart a tad.

I prefer this to oud satin mood, the vanilla/benzoin is a bit too much for me in that.

Bought Oud Satin Mood Extrait first and really loved the intensity as it easily fills a room. That bottle came with a Oud Silk Mood Extrait sample and I instantly loved it. Same intensity and can easily fill a room. This one smells more Masculine to me then Oud Satin Mood Extrait. I love them both but this one takes the edge.

Performance: 10-12 Hours
Sillage: Room Filler
Smell: Like a KING

Alexy88

I have a full bottle of this perfume willing to trade or cash. I ended up loving Oud Satin Mood Extrait way more than this one. I'm shipping from Canada.

orangelips11

This is a floral perfume masterpiece, very strong rose and chamomile scent, only 3 sprays and the scent bubble will fill the room, longevity is over 10 hrs, its expensive and its worth every penny, if you love floral fragrance a must try

Wthout a doubt, this gem is 10/10

Katiparfmaniac

Hands down! One of Fav rose - oud. Francis Kurkdjian is a talented Master perfumer. Very delicate work. His composition reminds me jewelry. Very expensive. Long lasting, because of concentration extract de parfume. Sillage long as a wind. Oud note definitely “european way” very wearable, what I prefer. Can’t wait to have Satin mood.

SaucyAudy

A lovely herbal/fresh spicy/ woody scent. Oud silk mood is like an olfactive picture of a pleasant provençal garden with a nice sillage. It develops as a rose-dominant perfume while the top notes were giving a fresh herbal vibe. The dry down gives an oud comforting scent which is very pleasing. But the complexity of these accords giving 3 different vibes throughout the wear is unfortunately not suiting me, but I’d love to smell it on someone else!

FragClub

Whereas I'm sure there is rose in there chamomile and Laotian oud. The sillage is enormous. I wear this one when I want to be noticed or I know I will be in a stressful situation. Why? Because no matter how much I sweat I am not going to drowned out the power of this scent!

ThatMakesScents

I have it on now. It has been going through crazy amounts of transitions in only the first 30 minutes. It's pretty wild. Definitely one to be respected for the complexity.

It starts off really sweet. Almost cloying cavity sweet then turns into an earthy bitter dirt smell more masculine yet there is sweet in the background.....wait and see what happens next.

None of this was pleasing to me although it was an interesting ride. There is no part of this that draws me to it or is it even remotely wearable in everyday life. MAYBE a woman at a very big gala/event dressed in a sequence dress could use this. That is where it lands for me on the usability scale.

Nice ride though for a few minutes.

BrownRoux

If you're a bold scent person, and love the rose & oud combo, this is STUNNING. I absolutely love it and it's my biggest compliment getter out of the 100+ gull bottles I own. I feel like a powerhouse when I wear this. It is much better in cooler weather, as the heat can make the oud a but too strong for me. But in cooler weather, it is perfectly balanced and gorgeous. The drydown is slightly spicy on me, which I adore. One of my favorites

W33d3!!!

Beautiful rose Oud combo. The chamomile blends wonderfully with the light touch of Oud and papyrus to give this perfume a fresh effect for me. Amazing drydown. One of my favorites.

Laurentiu20

Interesting perfume, strong, a nice rose-oud combo with a fresh green aromatic and very bitter base, but unfortunately the Chamomile note is too strong for my nose and literally gives a pee smell, especially in the opening.

In the drydown when the chamomile note fades is better.

Intense smell and powerful performance, definitely not a good idea for blind buys because of smell.

Too much

acidnbase

One of my favorite rose-oud fragrances! Truly powerful and mysteriously attractive! For those of you who’ve tried can attest to that! Thank you Sir Francis for this treat!🌹🌹🌹

Patj1994

I don’t smell any oud whatsoever, just headache-enducing rose.

Fountain30

So it’s basically the EDP with a massive dose of cough medicine. No idea why anyone would want to smell like this
The EDP is nice though, and cheaper (but still expensive) I recommend trying that instead

E.L.2002

The notes listed here are spot on. I smell more chamomile than rose though. The oud is just like the one used in other MFK fragrances like Satin Mood (laotian, synthetic, plastic-like).

Compared to Satin Mood: Just switch chamomile and vanilla.

It's not my cup of tea, but it's not a bad fragrance either...

Scent 6,5/10
Performance 8,5/10
Versatility 7/10

signaturescentgirlie

This smells like expensive, mysterious, and sexy.

It's so alluring...it's like wearing next to nothing in a crowded, smoky room. This fragrance is the equivalent of a black dress, red lip combo. It's a sultry sexy, not really a sensual sexy. The oud makes the rose confident, not coy. There's no powder here (like in Oud Satin Mood)--just strong, self-aware, badness.

Vladimirskiy

Hands down the best rose-oud combo I've ever smelled! High quality, smells expensive, perfectly unisex, and perfectly balanced. Very long-lasting and has strong projection, I would wear it only for colder months.

Yalcin05

Strong medicinal blast of oud with some floral touches.. the rose is not as prominent as in the satin mood line. This rose is quit more unisex to me and easily easily leaning more masculine. Fresh rose like l Homme rose. So you get a fresh spicey rose, and an oud which fades away in a hour and you are left with some rose, spice and fruity touches like an green apple even it’s not listed.

This is not so thick, overly sweet or medicinal as other oud rose combos. This is a rose which makes the freshness interesting and deep.. an oud which makes it only thick. So I’m pretty sure even the name makes it to believe a oud scent, kurkdijans purpose was only to show how you can use those 2 beloved and famous combo, in a different way. This is art for me, but not a like as I find it very close to some other floral perfumes like aventus for her.. respect for what it is, but not my style.

Longevity no issues like 12+ hours on fabrics, and a decent projection of 4/6 hours and then it becomes more of a skin scent.

If you are looking for a killer oud rose combo go with oud satin mood extrait, that one is also less sweet as the OG is overpowering sweet and feminine for the gentlemen. This i would suggest if you like fresh spicey scents.. it’s quit different then normal fresh spicey scents!

inbnk WP

All notes in this are very natural. Nothing harsh or chemical at all. Very classy.

nicetosmellyou

It's like a more soapy and floral Ombre Nomade without leather and animalic notes. Superb fragrance. Perfect for fall, winter and spring months. Super wearable oud

zcbensel

I really want to love this one. Off of a tester it is my favorite of the Oud Mood line. When sprayed on clothes, it is still fantastic; but on my skin it just dies. 20 minutes after a spray, I have to put my nose right on skin to get an impression. I think this one is just going to just have to be a night out spray that I can load up a leather jacket with. I still love this fragrance, but its utility for me is just so limited because I can't use it on skin.

Ilikewhatilike

This is my favourite oud / rose combo, and probably my favourite rose. Feels luxurious, elegant and balanced. Silk is a great descriptive word. It's not too sweet or oudy for me, it's not too rosey either.

I've been hunting for a rose / oud to buy and as a collector I want to focus on building a small collection, so I only want one rose in my collection (male here). This is not as nichey as other frags out there, but for me its a jack of all trades and something I think I would reach for when I want to get dressed up. I have MKF Oud EDP and it is super wearable. I get that feeling of wearability here as well.

Compared to MFK Satin, I prefer this a lot more as satin gets very cloying on my skin, whereas this more balanced.

MK_Fraghead696

Love the longevity and projection on my skin.it’s a nuclear beast,a weapon of mass destruction 🤣.Two spray is enough to fill up the entire room but beyond that you will suffocate the people next to you.I learn it the hard way when I decided to put on 5 spray🤣Overall i love this fragrance so much and my next on the wish list is Oud Satin mood Extrait de parfum so I can rotate between this two.

Staretsi

This reminds me of some perfumes I encountered in Southern Arabia years ago. This is one of the best takes on oud and rose (without any sweetness from vanilla!) that I have found produced by a Western house. It smells authentic. I prefer it to Tom Ford's Oud Fleur as Silk Mood is lighter and more versatile.

I have both this and the Eau de parfum version and wore them on alternate arms to directly test. Whilst both very good, the Eau de parfum edges it for me in terms of scent. However, this extrait lasts a couple of hours longer (about 6 hours or so).

mehdiab

Ma favorite of the collection, a very realistic and alluring Oud Rose Combo, but with a western twist.
as all the others from the Oud collection, it is a very refined and opulent perfume, dryer and smoother, this is the very elegant version of Oud Satin mood. Performance if of course amazing.
A must try !

horse_stealer

I accidentally poured Chivas Regals 12 on my hoodie arm, almost on collar and did not pay attention to it that day. the next day, I took that hand close to my face and I felt very nice and attractive smell, hypnotizing, and that's what this perfume reminds me of.
I guess it triggers in brain positive and instinctive signals to people subconsciously who enjoy drinking whiskey.

Marika-the-Eternal

At first, the fragrance is extremely green oud to my nose then it settled into a powdery green rose incense. Longevity is insane and I can smell it even after a shower it's extremely potent so very little goes a long way.

Craig87

Smells like champagne.

davidx10

I was obsessed with my Satin Mood (EDP), but I wanted this to be in my collection too cause it was the only missing piece. Since I bought I realized I'm always reaching for this bottle, there is something very masculine oudy-rosy in this, a true gem and my favorite now in the whoooole line. Longevity and silage are enormous, I get a lot of compliments every time I'm wearing it, people even ask me what I'm wearing. It's that good!!!!

spiceysauce5

Interesting version of mfk’s oud line, but there lacks any sweetness to offset the green/vegetal which to me dragged it down to slightly unpleasant.

4/10

ceeceelee

This is a green oud, if that makes any sense. It has rose, but it's not a sweet rose nor a powdery rose. Someone said it's the shrub of the rose and that makes sense. I don't get much oud, and what's there is cleaned up, but this is still nice. I have a sample, I wouldn't pay the price they are asking for a bottle. I do like Oud Satin Mood Extrait, and have a bottle of that. This one is very unisex, refreshing. But again, it just isn't priced for what it really is.

audreyg

More of a medicinal oud than the sweet, cloying ouds I'm used to. Very sharp and green with some rose to accompany, but this rose is not a sweet or rich note. Rather, it is the powder that dusts the whole arrangement.

Overall, not my kind of oud rose accord but nice for what it is I suppose. I prefer Oud Velvet Mood from MFK, or Velvet Our Jo Malone is a great scent for a cheaper option.

redberry11

Oud Silk Mood opens with rose but don't expect sweet floral notes. This is a rose shrub - green, vegetal, herbal. The drydown is oily with some herbal/ woody sharpness, definitely leans masculine. I can only compare it to MFK's Oud Satin Mood and there is no similarity. Satin Mood is sweeter, more feminine, coquettish, sexi and confident.

Poeticpandemic

So the wife tested this and sprayed it on her inner elbow. 3 hours in, i got a whiff of this so i decided to sniff her inner elbow…. Bad idea as the scent got transferred on my mustache and all i can smell now is rose with some herbal notes.

Noice

Sharp, potent, and dark. Like all his work, Silk mood feels well crafted, smooth, and extremely refined.
It's alot greener than i thought.
I personally think it smells similar to Un rose.

maplesyrup

I love MFK's Oud (extrait) and, without regret, purchased a full bottle of that fragrance. So, what can go wrong with the Oud Silk Mood extrait or eau de parfum versions?

Oud Silk Mood (extrait): To me, this smells like chlorinated pool water with a vinyl-made pool toy sitting in the hot sun giving off unpleasant fumes. It took some time for the dry down notes to set in which added a subtle floral tone. This version is heavier on the synthetic oud - somewhat anamalic but not fecal. This version leans more masculine.

Oud Silk Mood (edp): The opening is similar to the extrait - but not as pronounced. The dry down notes appear much quicker and the scent evolves into a pleasant, soft, floral fragrance that sits close to the skin and lingers for hours. This version leans more feminine.

Neither should be considered as blind buys. Both are a pass for me. In contrast, I find MFK's Oud (extrait) to be an extraordinary fragrance and yet I am no fan of ouds - go figure. Cheers.

Celestya

Rose and oud in a bottle. Very strong and bold, 100% unisex (maybe more masculin). Not compatible with office. You need to like oud. The sillage and longevity are amazing. It is a deep and woody fragrance for sure; for fall and winter.

5/10 (not so fan of oud)

--> In this brand, for fall and winter, I prefer Gentle Fluidity (9/10) = Oud Satin mood (9/10) > Baccarat Rouge 540 Ext (7/10) = Baccarat Rouge 540 (7/10) > Oud Silk mood extrait (5/10)
--> In this brand, for summer: I prefer L'eau à la rose (8/10) > Aqua Vitae Cologne forte (7/10) > Aqua Celestia Cologne forte (6/10) > A la rose (6/10) > Aqua Universalis Cologne forte (4/10)

buonobi

The Extrait is oud with soft rose scent. It's a bit sharp & metallic that I won't like to wear on myself. The scent is still beautiful, so sophisticated, I love MFK.
For me, I prefer Satin Mood. Instead Silk Mood smells very nice on men.
Unisex but leans masculine.
Longevity and Sillage is TOP.

About comparison with EDP, EDP is lighter, less oud and more floral while Extrait is more masculine, more oud, more smoky.

Flippi1

testing this for the first time ......mmmm its so far an hour in not subtle rose explosion when coupled with the slightly menthol green vibe so far leaves a slightly disinfectant vibe ,so not totally won over but enjoying the ride and will see where we go....

RisingChaos

Smells similar to the EDP to me at first, a balanced mix of rose and citrus, but has this unpleasant mentholic sharpness to it that steadily becomes more overwhelming over time. It eventually smooths out, but never to the point of enjoyment. Performance is strangely mediocre for me as well, with 2-3hr of weak projection and 7-8hr longevity. The EDP is much better, though I don't love it either.

ginandrice

Oud Silk Mood Extrait opens with a rose that is sharp, metallic, and rubbery. There’s a jammy-sweetness to it, but it’s a very dark sweetness. And the fresh-spicy accord manifests not as something invigorating, but as a sharp, almost astringent smolder.

There’s a wicked vibe to OSME, like a prop used by the queen in Snow White. Imagine something tar-like and black oozing from the green, thorny stem of a burgundy rose.

After a couple of hours, both the harshness and the jammy sweetness fade, and OSME becomes dry and woody, with a bit of herbaceous green rose remaining. If you want a similar fragrance on a budget, try Midnight Oud by Juliette Has A Gun. It's not as good, IMO, but it's similar and enjoyable in its own right.

istvan.buda.779

This is so damn strong and it’s getting stronger the more it sits on the skin

KvonMoll

I normally detest a soapy rose, but I find MFK’s Oud Silk Mood absolutely intoxicating. The name is something of a misnomer, as this is first and foremost a rose fragrance. What Oud there is plays polite second fiddle; there’s nothing industrial or fecal about the Oud note here, so I struggle to see how this composition could offend, even in polite company. The rose is multifaceted: soapy, sweet, and powdery, yet with hints of a more severe angularity. GO EASY ON THE TRIGGER HERE. One spray is usually enough, as performance is absolutely massive.

returnatyourperil

the EDP is way lighter, this has way more oud and less chamomile, to be honest im finding it hard to detect notes other than the strong and skanky barnyard oud and the strong herbal vibe from the papyrus.

Belli9

I definitely prefer silk mood extrait, more deep, formal, luxury, woody, less „fried“ sweetness than satin mood... possible as signature. this opulent breeze of scent is worth the price EDIT: in addition, I enjoy drydown, metallic soap, powder touch

Chanel de Lanvin

I really like this perfume, I only use it on some occasions , it is not a juice to wear every day.
The classic of classics to have absolutely in its collection of refined perfumes.
It's a killing !!!

updog

@larr72000 Yeah, I just got a sample in the mail, and I definitely get a strong windex / window cleaner smell from this.

wdfbhootn

Too strong papyrus to me.

matty64

I own this and there’s not a significant enough difference between the EDP and the Extrait, to require a purchase of both. I prefer the EDP, because the Extrait will run you out of a small, poorly ventilated room. Just like Baccarat Rouge 540. Once again, I prefer the EDP formulation. What are you doing to me Francis Kurkdjian?! Aaah!

Fragranceluva4u

Oud Silk Mood EDP puts me in the mind of Montale Black Aoud. Definitely not as potent but shares some similarities. It’s an extremely smooth silky rose laden gem. It leans feminine but something in the DNA doesn’t allow it to be fully feminine. It smells expensive, sophisticated and of great quality. The Oud lays in the background and it’s not fecal or barnyard. The MFK Oud line is a real treasure!!

I ordered the Extrait version and can’t wait to compare the two.

Overall rating 8/10

ba2l

Ok, I sprayed one spray on my neck and after about 6 hours it was skin scent, after 8 hours completely disappeared and I smell nothing at all.. well it was one spray only what can I say !

After 6 days my brother came to my room and the first thing he said exactly when he opened the door : Your room smells like very clean refined Oud !!

WHAT?? OMG

6 days !!!!

It is a very clean, fresh, refined and smooth Rose scent, then comes the Oud as a middle note and the dry down is intoxicating.. 10/10

DrRosie

Testing MFK Oud Silk Mood Extrait de Parfum- I am at a loss for words right now, I cannot describe this perfume. IMO, it is “The sexiest perfume by MFK (I am comparing it to the ones I have in my collection) Powerhouse, compliment all the way fragrance. The performance is good so far, it has a very good longevity and a moderated silage. It is unisex and is probably better for nights because of the intensity of the rose. Again, it is your body and your fragrance do whatever you please.
True definition of a true unisex fragrance. If you live in a hot temperature area, you might want to skip this fragrance, it was not made for that. It works best when it is cold. OMG don’t even talk about the dry down of this – to die for! Well, not literally!
This is how beautiful people are supposed to smell.

Otjello

Fresh rose aoud scent with a spicy edge of papyrus, I do not immediately detect chamomile, but its there and gives some kind of flowery freshness, almost like straw or hay if you like, in combination with the papyrus, but fresher. Very well blended! Unisex and sexy. Magnificent! 91

Update 16/5/20: Awesome rose perfume, wore it to bed and its great. Has some tea like properties. And its beastmode, 12+h and still going strong. Great one! FB worthy. 94

Djedi

Rose and oud bomb. The combination has been done countless times by now, but Kurkdjian's rose here is quite masculine and sharp, and the added chamomille gives it an almost aromatic edge. The blend seems metallic at times, which I'm not particularly keen about. The oud is the same as the rest of the line; quite astringent and band aid like in the opening but smoothes out as time passes. If you're a fan of rose and oud you'd know the blend instantly. Smells pleasant but nothing to write home about either.

Performance is excellent, easily unisex. Could be worn any season except hot summers. Nice, but to me there are better options out there.

5/10

Emorandeira

Oud silk mood is the second oud perfume by MFK that i can try. The first was oud satin mood and i found that one very nice. But this one is not really mu cup of tea. And not because of the quality, only because i orefer the sweet and almost gourmand rose/oud than the greener and drier rose oud combis like this one. The oredominant note here for me is the rose, but is not a powdery rose, i find a bit harsher than usual. Slowly appears the oud giving a soft medicinal vibe, but a very soft and subtle oud, not fecal or intense. And the papyrua and the camomille give to the fragance a herbal, dry and a bit creamy character. OSM remember me to shades wood by ARMAf or to rose oud by monotheme.
The performance is good, It has a very good longevity and a moderated sillage. It is unisex for me and probably better for night because of the intensity of the rose, although i think It could be weareable during the day on winter or fall.

Doesn't have the medicinal quality of Satin Mood Extrait, and for that I am grateful. Huge blast of chamomile in the opening that gives off a sort of "lemon in your tea" vibe to me.

Oddly, I walked down a hallway this morning at work and I thought there was someone wearing a very nice rose scent somewhere in front of me. Nope. It was me. Before I could really even get the rose on my skin it was projecting out in front of me for me to walk into and experience as if it were a fragrance on somebody else. Crazy.

Definitely unisex, hinging on slightly feminine. My wife likes rose scents, but she has things where rose isn't the main accord... Mademoiselle, Love in Black, etc. I think this is a fragrance both of us could actually enjoy wearing.

The chamomile is still present but tails off as the main note about an hour in. The funny thing is, it remains the main note on skin well past this. I don't get any whiffs of it in the air, but it is definitely what is coming off my skin for the first few hours.

About 3 hours in the oud starts to come out in place of the chamomile and the projection softens a bit from the absolute rose powerhouse up until then.

Lasts well over 12 hours on me, and like I said without the medicinal or overly sweet powder of Satin Mood Extrait (which I don't really like for me). As far as MFK goes this is No2 behind BR540 Extrait thus far. Amazing work of art.

Djedi

A rather typical oud and rose combo.

A bit better than Velvet and Cashmere but not something amazing either. The chamomille in here almost balances out the rose sweetness against the oud, which again is slightly medicinal but in this case it is acceptable as the harshness present in Velvet and Cashmere is tamed in here.

Not great by any means but if you really enjoy the rose and oud combo then you may want to give this one a try.

Perfectly unisex in my opinion and it has great lasting power.

Regret getting oud satin mood extrait instead of this. Well actually, I want both. They are both full bottle worthy. This is just so much more understated. It's a fabulous scent. I loved it, then read reviews here, and went down a notch as people harked on about oud satin mood instead. But man, the papyrus note in silk mood is so stunning. This just smells expensive and classy and clean. So versatile.

EDIT: I caved. I bought it a few days later. There's just something about this that I couldn't stop thinking about. My brain told me that it's nothing special and overpriced, but my nose told me otherwise.

I just think this is such a versatile inoffensive scent. But not inoffensive boring. You can wear it for work, evenings, dinners, at home, meetings, it's just a great scent. It's fresh and not sweet like it's counterpart (satin) which I wouldn't want to wear in a professional setting. I feel like this is one of those frags that when I'm not sure what to wear, I'll always reach for this one.

This is understated like...wearing a classic timepiece, crisp white shirt (very expensive yet no flashy logos) on your private yacht in the south of Spain. It's like, yes I am a billionaire, but I don't need to say anything.

This is a lot better than the EDP imo. Extremely unisex.

pitman

Hard to find words. Awsome, extremely strong, each smell of heaven from it. Luxurious, something untouchable specialty in it. Awsome longevity, with 3 sprays way too strong. I m in love with it.

Oudaddict

I'm a bit puzzled by the ratings of the notes that people have given this on Fragrantica, perhaps because people are not used to smelling oud. The main players here are really the chamomile and papyrus (especially in the opening), then the rose, and lastly oud which is barely detectable. The rose in Satin Mood is much more pronounced and makes it sweeter than Silk Mood. Silk Mood does not have that jammy sweetness, and the rose is more metallic coupled with the herbaceous chamomile and papyrus.

This is another great fragrance from MFK's Oud range and a good option if you find Satin Mood too sweet/feminine. Longevity is phenomenal like all the OUD Extrait range, projection was not beastly for me but solid and sufficient nonetheless. This is much better than the EDP version as well.

A hidden and underrated gem.

elledeelee

It's certainly rose and oudh, a combo I'm usually a fan of, but this one is way too herbal and soapy for me. One of the very few scents I've had to wash off with urgency. Too masculine for me, but I really, really wouldn't want to smell it on a man either. Oud Satin Mood Extrait is much more up my street.

rvadati

Now this is a true rose fragrance and very silky due to blue chamomile from Morocco and papyrus from India. So the rose is natural Bulgarian rose mixed masterfully with natural oud from Laos. This blend makes the rose very herbal, natural and earthy which I love. This to me smells like true rose. If you are looking for the most realistic classy rose, don't look any further. Now this to me is more masculine than the satin one but I prefer the satin one over this. They both are perfectly unisex.

Chicago Tony T

This one is a bit tricky. The scent bubble is rosy but when I press my nose against my wrist the odd is dominant. Some say it's feminine some say masculine and I'm guessing that this one smells different on different skin types and races of people. With that being said, everyone knows it lasts forever and knows it costs a fortune so a decant is all you really need as 2 sprays is sufficient. BTW, the oud is not harsh as in many other oud offerings from other houses.

cocofluff

Great perfume. I like most fragrances created by MFK.

This extrait smells like tea thanks to the plethora of chamomile in here. The oud is a bit more apparent than in most MFK creations that I've smelled (other than oud extrait, that one is unwearable for me and just a bit too skanky). This perfume lasted all day which is always a plus when a fragrance is as lovely as this one.

I like the Silk Mood much better than the extrait, which is just a bit too intense on me.

I ordered samples from MFK and just randomly chose this one. I am brand new to the niche world, so bear with me! I did not care for BR540 which was what I intended to sample, but this... I keep reading that it's better in cold weather, but I can not stop wearing it. I get compliments on this every time I wear it. One spray to lunch with a friend the other day and I gave her a hug and she said she smelled it hours later. She had no idea about the house or niche perfume in general and she was ready to buy. To me it smells like a blue rose, but the oud warms it up. It's initially rose, and dries down to oud on me, but retains it's original scent. I have not tried Velvet or Cashmere yet. I originally found Satin Mood to smell like a baby powder, however, it grew on me, but only to sleep in. Isn't that strange? Very comforting and it's now a part of my bedtime routine, but I don't think I'd wear it out. Silk Mood, however is my new every day, signature fragrance. I'm a 34 year old female for reference.

klix27

Im so mesmerized by this smell. The drydown reminds me of other designer perfumes but cant point which one.

I think this oud can be worn to office. Im sure people around you would feel pleasant.

The oud doesnt dominate but only in the background. More floral upfront. Men can wear it too. Smells luxury definately.

waskotransportation

soooo...I have a post in the forums asking people if they know of any scent that resembles Stella Rose Absolute Intense. That is my all-time favorite scent and it is increasingly hard to find. Not to mention unaffordable when it is located. Two different people referred me to this frag. I am asking for advice on this matter bc I read ALL of the reviews and no one mentioned any similarity and I cannot go to a store to sample bc I live in a valley of a mountain with no shopping. Thanks.

Edit: Smells like death in hot temperatures. Not so versatile but tolerable in mild climate.

In cloudy days or mild nights of summer, this and any black wear or blue will need no accessories.

I think this one is more about the mood of the person than the weather.

Leaves a good notion of private space (protection), even thought is very light and calm. Is like the color of the perfume. Deep, but light at the same time it should be beastly heavy.

(one: ONE spray is enough.)

The good taste in the combination of notes (how they equalize each other, bitter with sweet and heavy with airy) is really incredible.

Is not an every day scent because seems very opulent (without being an *hole) . There is dominance either for male or female user, but also there's a positive trait with a hint of mystery. Like the perfume is saying "Don't cross this line I'm drawing around me, but you're welcome to have a chat. Let's talk about great things because I'm not in the mood for cheap talk or cheap people."

Is protective and have great quality but also very light. Is a great illustration of silk. Not that overlay of patterns and colors like fine silk, but rather a dark color very well made with the best quality production.

Is very sexy but not club and boozing sexy. Sexiness with consent and with a brain. Which might not be sexy for some, but these are definitely not the target for this perfume neither.

I don't know how or why but it gets sexier the more it stays on skin.

Like some "Suite 5000" sexiness.

The Papyrus note adds a nice mystery to the power depicted with the oud note and the chamomile adds a nice bitter balance and calmness to the rose.

Is really well balanced in every aspect of the concept.

I have no idea about how the normal version is (or would be), but I think the regular version might be more predominantly floral notes.

chiragh

People say it's for females , but they are wrong it's one the best Oud Rose fragrance that I have ever sniffed ..both men and women can easily wear it .

It's a FRESH Rose - Oud combo perfume with super good quality ingredients .

I went to a store in Switzerland to check out 540, which after trying i felt was a very ordinary and this was CLASS IN A BOTTLE.. And I thanked myself that I didn't blind buy 540 and got this instead .

EDIT : My bottle is here finallyyyyy .. Drydown is the BEST Part about this fragrance i can't stop smelling myself ..
Wonderful packing & presentation .

This is my second review of MFK Oud Silk Mood. I wrote the first review more than a year ago, when I was still familiarising myself with this perfume; but now that I have had it for many months, I feel that it deserves a second account.
At the moment I own 40 fragrances; obviously, that's not much, considering that some Fragrantica members have hundreds, even thousands of scents - but, on the other hand, it's way more than I ever thought I would need! When purchasing new fragrances I try not to duplicate what I already have; diversity is the keyword and each fragrance that I own is a standout, for one reason or another. Among these 40 'chosen ones', MFK Oud Silk Mood is definitely THE best, because it is such a unique minimalist artwork. On paper, it should be a simple little thing, consisting of only four major ingredients - rose, chamomile, papyrus and oud; but these four are so masterfully blended and balanced that the resulting scent is seriously addictive. In order to appreciate Oud Silk Mood, one must be a rose lover, because an enchanting, powerful rose is the main protagonist here. This heady rose is freshened up with chamomile, papyrus and a very subtle oud, without a trace of its skankier facets. The fragrance is quite linear and stays true to itself throughout its development; all notes are present from the beginning to the end. Although it is marketed as unisex, I'd say that it leans feminine: this is made for a mature, confident, successful, classy woman. I'm not sure that I match this description, but I do hope so! To sum up, this is one of the best investments that I ever made and worth every penny. Do not bother with dupes and save up to buy the real thing. It is meant to be used sparingly, so a 70ml bottle can last for many years. This is a perfume to bring to a deserted island.

Heifrank

A more correct name would have been Rose Silk Mood. Oud is very subtle, rose is very prominent.

Qwendy

It's so funny that each of us thinks that our perception of a perfume is the definitive one when it is so clear from the reviews that each of us is so amazingly different !

I am not a big rose lover, for instance (except IRL) and the rose in this scent is just huge to my nose ( on my skin, not on paper , go figure) .... that said it is a big jammy juicy purple rose, a bit like a Caron Extrait Rose, which has a bit of a geranium aspect —could that be the influence of whatever a “ Papyrus” note could be?— and it is beautiful.

So I just layered MFK Oud over this one to tamp down the rose and all of the green facets came out like they did for some people but not for me, and I love it. So happy to have my set of all five!

kristinzareva

This is the most special piece of my current collection, bought it late fall in Moscow's TSUM. Once I sprayed it on my wrist, I couldn't get rid of thoughts of buying it. This oud is quite subtle, but sensible, after some time the bulgarian rose becomes dominant with a hint of oud. Love the overall effect and long lasting impact of it.

mmcdonald36

Absolutely only for women. This is in the same category as Montale Red Aoud. The rose and oud scream off of the skin in the opening, and if i smelled this on a man, i would think he is trying to smell like a woman. The drydown is similar to the opening of L'Envol de Cartier, and that's as masculine as this puppy gets.

Jonmichael02302

Absolute beast! I love this one A LOT! What can i say... that hasn't been said... YOU'VE GOT TO TRY THIS ONE! Very unisex & OUT OF THIS WORLD! Now is it worth the price? HELL YEAH! I think it's worth more! The dry down doesn't sway far from the initial application & for me that's rare. The projection is moderate but longevity is a good 8+ hours on my skin. I get a ton of compliments wearing this one & I CAN'T STOP SMELLING IT! It's so addictive.

Kenudigme

I talked down on this fragrance for a long time but after revisiting it a few times’ I’ve changed my mind. I still don’t love it, per say... by it’s nice ! Very mature.

Sugandaraja

The rose here is exquisite: airy, tart, modern, with hints of powder and rosewater. It's underscored with an unobtrusive metallic oud note that just gives the scent backbone without being too prominent. The overall effect isn't quite natural smelling; quite synthetic smelling in some ways, yet it's quite sleek and quite compelling all the same. Rose pastel underscored with a graphite pencil.

This is my favorite of the oud-fabric-mood quartet, but with the caveat that you shouldn't expect a ton of oud: this is a rose fragrance with some interesting accents.

D-Bo

Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of Rose dominated scents. This one is definitely not up my alley. One thing I will say though is that the longevity is infinite. Not at all my style, but if you love powdery rose and oud, this might be for you.

andrewj

Wow this is certainly very rosy. Since I'm not a lover of rose scents (because I find them suffocating), I won't waste too much of your time here, but it's clear that for anyone who does love rose notes, this scent would be a winner.

It's a well constructed, refined scent that would be pleasing to many people. Go try it, you rose lovers!

toddles

WOW, just wow. This is true love for me. The most modern rose, the most subtle oud, and just gorgeous and exciting. YES! THIS is what I want to smell like! It's fresh, it's floral, it's oud-ish, it's modern, but at the same time very familiar. I can't afford it, but I've hunted down decants and will continue to do so because this is the first fragrance that I cannot get enough of. I'm famous for falling out of love with a fragrance before I finish 10ml, but I'm still in love with this at almost 20 ml and $90 later.

LadyIva

This is a very luxurious - and very expensive! - extrait de parfum; it's an Oriental with a capital 'O'. When I first tested it, a few months ago, I found it to be a warm, heavy, mature, saturated, almost suffocating concoction of oud and rose. However, for the past six weeks we've had a very harsh winter here, with the temperatures regularly plunging below -15 C, and guess what - Oud Silk Mood works absolutely brilliantly when it's very cold outside! It just wraps you in its warm hug and transports you to an oriental bazaar. Obviously I wouldn't dare wear this when it's +35 C outside - my nose would melt!

(Update)

The most gorgeous fragrance that I own. To my nose, the papyrus is the key note...it's the thing that takes this to another level and prevents it from smelling like your ordinary, rose/oud frag. It gives it a tanginess and tartness that never throttles back...its there to the bitter end. This is a grade-A, oud fragrance. EXTREMELY, Middle Eastern, in it's presence and vibe.
*****************

literal OUD BOMB..

just tested it, 20 min ago @ Neimans', before buying it. And knew immediately all but 2 of the oud frags I have, will be taking several seats behind this stuff. EXTRAIT, is the only concentration available...and there will be no need to ever purchase another oud scent, after getting this.

I love a very dark, heavy, spicy and/or woody, middle-Eastern, smelling scent. And this one takes the crown for me, right behind Library Opus V and Mancera's Sand Aoud &The Aoud.

true to the nature of an extrait strength, Im sensing a need for a chisel, to remove this scent.

babypoison

very warm, woody, smooth and longlasting. very unisex friendly but too "Everyday" for me i prefer sth more daring. mfk is very nice im just not much of its fan i guess?

csaito

im my opinion, the best Rose&Oud i've ever tried. Here rose speaks louder than oud, diferently of the other Mood's fragrances, which makes me appreciate even more because i'm a rose fan. It's smooth, engaging, elegant, romantic fragrance. Love it. This one, PoaL and Lyric woman makes my perfect rose triad.

larr72000

I Got a Sample of This From Lucky Scent. This Smells Like Windex To Me!!!!! I let it set for 1-2 hrs and it still smelled like Windex! Definitely NOT For Me!!!!

landshark321

Not surprisingly, the extrait concentration Oud Silk Mood by Maison Francis Kurkdjian is a powerhouse of a fragrance.

Scent-wise, it is more of a traditional rose/oud pairing in the sense that it's not so sweet like Oud Satin Mood, but rather the rose and oud without the sweetness. The oud also factors more strongly than in Oud Satin Mood, as the rose is somewhat subdued, not very heavy or dominant at all. I've heard some argue that it's a fresh rose, and that might be fair, as it feels brighter and more fleeting, while still being dominated by the oud component.

There's otherwise not a ton going on, apart from the woodsy undertones and use of chamomile, the latter of which does not factor in too much for me. It's mainly, simply, a rose/oud fragrance, and in that mix it can always lean slightly feminine, but as with Oud Satin Mood, I find it pretty unisex. It certainly works for women, but men who prefer rose (as I do) will be open to it.

I can see why this might turn some off--the oud is harsh, as it usually is, and while the blend is good, not much rose is present to shield non-fans of oud from the oud itself.

I prefer the sweetness of Oud Satin Mood but very much like Oud Silk Mood as well. I simply already own a very powerful rose/oud blend that I enjoy more: Armani Prive Rose d'Arabie. Still, Oud Silk Mood should be tried by fans of rose.

$375 for 70ml is steep, even for an extrait, so only those who really love it will buy it, but it's certainly a bomb that merits some consideration if you do love it.

MysticRose

Far too strong for me; I was attracted to this because of the word silk and after the initial smell it left me exasperated and somewhat sick. It's full throttle Oud and not for the light-hearted. I went for the Satin version instead which was lush!

rivieraduece

I'm trying a sample of this now and its fantastic.kind of remind me of eternal oud by kilian which I absolutely love.this is full bottle worthy

Oud Silk Mood (tested from a sprayer sample)

A Gorgeous Rose-Oud fragrance!

It opens with stark and black oud. It softens a bit to become a little tolerable, a tad sweeter. I get the rose with soft rubber nuances. The rose is strong and sweet, I like how the green herbal notes from the chamomile surrounds the rose.

I sense the papyrus, how lovely and unusual it is, in this fragrance. On my skin, the papyrus smells dry, toasty, woody with nutty nuances. It is nice melding with the rose. After a time on my skin, the oud is beautiful with a soft medicinal quality, it is mysterious, very elegant, easy to wear.
The rose is radiant as it intertwines with the oud.
Anyone who likes the rose-oud fragrances must sample this once. It's not for me.

Longevity on my skin is about 10 hours and sillage is arm length.

I'm really not oud lover and only can wear miracle classic Oud from this house. I didn't find very much oud in this fragrance but rose!
.. Ah roses are amazing and slightly sweet of Oud Silk Mood. I also got amazing compliments and don't think it is smells cheap. It is smell expensive and very very long lasting. I'm rose lover and this is one of the best modern rose/oud combination have ever seen.

VITO79

Smooth! Damn this is nice

LIN

I really don't know how come everyone here are talking about the overpowering rose in this fragrance... I mean, i wish there was a rose here! I can not detect anything besides the OUD. It feels a bit plastic-synthetic and flat... not natural and deep enough for me. I don't like this one though i had high hopes for it. Only oud... boring...

tonileefiore

I eagerly opened my latest perfume sample shipment and tentatively applied Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Oud Silk Mood after reading mixed (many negative) reviews. Anticipating the perfume's arrival, I deliberately did not apply any other perfume that day because I wanted to experience this expensive perfume in its full glory. Surprisingly, I really LOVE this fragrance; however given the hefty price tag, I may be forced to move on to similar rouse oud perfumes and rose oud blends, such as those produced by Jo Malone, M. Micallef, Montale and Tiziana Terenzi (to name a few).

I am NOT a perfume expert and I especially am not an oud expert. I've never smelled the true scent of a natural agarwood tree. With that said, I experienced and owned a few ouds but only adored perhaps one.

MFK's Oud Silk Mood is a gorgeous fragrance but IMHO, you MUST wait for the dry-down! For me, the basenotes and dry-down are what make this fragrance stand out and shine. Even someone like me with limited perfume knowledge can tell this perfume is created with some fine ingredients...oud, rose, papyrus and chamomile...that's about it. Lovely.

I warn the opening notes are intense, loud and almost vulgar...rubber, SMOKE & metallic notes jump out of the bottle, onto the skin & through the nose, showing no mercy! After initial application, I thought "Uh oh...oh no...this is gonna make me ill...this is gonna be a SCRUBBER!" All I could smell after initial application was something akin to burnt rubber...oud!

Within 10-15 minutes, this EDP exposed its true glory with the longest lasting & loveliest wood (oud), musk-y, dark rose notes I have ever experienced. After 30-60 minutes, I could not stop enjoying the glow of the most gorgeous Bulgarian rose & wood-y oud fragrance I have ever experienced! MY husband kept commenting, "You smell GREAT when you walk by...is that the SAME PERFUME you HAD ON about 1 hour ago??? The SAME one??? Really??? You smell great...nice!" Silage!!!

One reviewer, who disliked this perfume called this fragrance "cheap, synthetic, dark, odd, etc with 'urban glossy darkness' & pretention, etc." I can understand this reviewer's experience, I really can because that is (sorta) the way this fragrance opens.

But give it time and delight in the dry-down. This EDP is long lasting and is a beautifully warm, comforting floral (rose) & resinous fragrance. Silage is great & really pleasant. Not sure I have the budget to spring for a full bottle. And unlike By Killian, not sure if this MFK fragrance is worthy of its hefty price tag. I'm going to take some time in the near future to re-experience "similar" fragrances, as mentioned above.

Definitely worthy of a sample try, if you like rose & oud AND you can wait for the dry-down!!!

jeanuk

Not for me! thank you! had a sample very disappointed with this stuff. My opinion

lollero

I ordered some samples and the only thing I could smell when I opened the package was this. The rose here is way over powering and to me the combination of rose and oud brings rubber to mind. I hate the opening. After two hours though the rose is almost gone and all that is left is the oud. And thanks to this I finally know what oud smells like. It's the smell that makes me want to sneeze in most fragrances. I seriously need to give my sample to someone else the smell is so strong. Love the colour of the juice though!

muzzbait

the rose here is borderline 'too sweet', and the oud, unfortunately, doesn't counterbalance it enough. whilst this is in the top echelon of rose-oud scents, it isn't the best of the best (that, for mine, goes to jo malone velvet rose oud), and there just isn't enough depth and complexity. still a 8 - 8.5 out of 10, but not in the legend category...

EDIT: 5 hours in it turns to a montale-esque oud smell. dark, bitter and medicinal. it overpowers the rose...

krsams1

I love it when people so definitively claim this is NOT for a guy. Just say "I wouldn't wear it", but that said I absolutely love this fragrance. Got a sample from Bergdoff Goodman while picking up By Kilian Back to Black. I can't get enough of this scent. It envelopes the wear in a rose oud cloud and doesn't let go for hours. I wear this whenever I need a slight mental vacation or as a bedtime scent. Wearing it during the day or active times simply makes it do difficult for me to be "present". Do yourself a favor and get this if you are a Rose/Oud person.

hadassa

What an amazing scent... It starts off a bit sharply, but in around ten minutes it calms down and becomes the most harmonious oud based composition I have ever smelt.

To add the chamomile note into the composition was a brilliant idea, it creates something special here, unexpected, unusual, gorgeous. It's hard to explain, hard to describe this slightly herbaceous freshness-to-bitterness, which by no means makes a bitter perfume out of SILK MOOD, no, it's actually a sweet perfume! The sweetness comes from the roses. Oh, I'm in heaven right now as I smell it from my wrist...

I think I fail to unravel the magic of this work. Usually I can tell why I love what and why this and that work this way, etc. But not here. Just pure delight. Francis Kurkdjian does it again. I think he's the biggest perfumer of our time. There are perfumers out there who are undoubtedly very talented and whom I love with all my perfumista's heart (and nose), but this guy is just one of a kind. I think he's a man of rare genius. I have observed his career for around ten years, because, in my opinion, he demonstrated sparks of genius even in the very beginning of his professional path. I must say that his talent has developed into something truly outstanding and influential.

Back to the perfume - I think it's completely unisex, however, it's so refined, so exquisite, and I may imagine that guys might prefer a "tougher" oud from MFK's collection. I would say SILK MOOD will do wonders on female skin. It does on mine... I'm starting to save up for this miracle of perfumery from now on.

rossyegio5

cremedefleur

This is another stunner by MFK. At first, this smells like my beautiful mother's intricately embroidered silk saris that she wears to Indian weddings. It smells regal, elegant and celebratory (it celebrates love, I feel.) After the drenched-in-silken-roses-mood you are transported to the library of a Maharaja--the scent of very old Indian maps, money and silk bound books and tablets are evoked. I know this is not subjective because when I asked my husband what two things come to mind, he said silk saris and Indian paper! That is crazy specific! I think this perfume is art and the longevity is insane but I find his Oud to be a masterpiece and this is what I will go with (it was a decision between the two for me.) The saffron note in his Oud is a note of such pure beauty that it moved me to tears the first time I wore it.

aphexacid

At first i flat out said, "this is black aoud by Montale". But its not even close. Its so different.

Oud Silk Mood is the epitome of the Middle Eastern Rose & Oud perfume in my eyes. Its so beautiful, so sparkling, so sexy. There is absolutely nothing that doesn't ooze class here.

The Rose is gorgeous and juicy. It never fades to the background. Its always there, to let you know that its the boss. Its not soapy, not powdery. Its as if you were to pick a Rose out of the ground and dig your nose into it. Thats what you get.

There is something that adds a certain dustiness to the rose, it almost smells like an ever so slight citrus, but not. I believe this is the papryus. That would make sense to me.

The backbone of the scent is the Oud. Everpresent. Giving character, depth, and thickness. It adds a layer of beauty that no other material on the earth could.

The liquid is purple, and somehow, if i had to think of a color while i smell this perfume, i swear it would be the dark grayish purple color of the liquid.

The presentation is absolutely outstanding. Heavy glass, heavy metal cap. Gold embellishments throughout.

Projection is absoultey perfect. Medium. It draws people into you. It does not hit them over the head with a bat.

Longevity is excellent. Easily 10-12 hours.

Yes, it is extremely expensive. But it has done what many perfumes fail to do at any price. It makes my heart sing, and when i close my eyes and breathe deeply, it takes me to a place far far away.

Another Masterpiece by Francis Kurkdjian.

Cereza

I think that OUD SILK MOOD is more masculine than feminine, even though it has loads of flowers.
At the start I was hit in the face with loads of soapy/sharp bulgarian rose and aoud. Here the aoud is a bit similar to aoud in Montale's Black Aoud and Red Aoud, not at all ruberry and leathery, but very sharp, oily and dark. There is also a bitter note of chamomile, which gives a very herbal and dark edge to the whole composition.
The deal with OUD SILK MOOD is that it's very linear on me and there is no sweetness whatsoever, it stays true to it's masculine character.
Longevity is very good, 12+ hours. It was rather loud at the first 4 hours, but became a nice lingering scent afterwards.

A good try to males who enjoy rose in their fragrances.

scentdoctor

opening is pretty harsh ... sort of like montale fragrances. however the whiffs u get from it during drydown will have you smelling yourself all day. last pretty long even after a shower

Carolina Telo

The opening notes are not my cup of tea (quite sharp I would say), but then it changes and this overpriced fragrance develops in almost the same way as Rose Oud from Monotheme Fragrances from Venice. Costs a tenth of this... (I bought it this summer in Italy for 19 euros). Still very nice, though!

spirit966

Reminds me of the rose in Tom Ford' s Noir de Noir.
Both are deep with an underlying tone of the Oud. I find Tom Ford's version smoother though.

What puts me off a little is that the rose stays sharp for quite a while. So not so sure about this one. This is the strongest of the 3 in the collection. After the harshness/sourness fades, it is a relatively simplistic composition.

Its definately unisex. But I think the sharpness puts this more on the femme side.

Pwrgentech

Super long lasting and smells great! I layer it with Cashmere Mood to take away from the more feminine smell of the silk and sharpness of the cashmere.

Houdini4

The combination of rose and Oud is a classic one and when it's done by FK you know its going to be done well.
Just not my thing yet again.
If you love Oud & rose in a simple composition, oh and you can afford it then I recommend this.
I think it's more suited to a woman due to the Rose and soft soapy effect created by the chamomile possibly?
It needs spice and a darker edge for a man.

michael.j

After wearing this, it's my new favorite rose. Au revoir Montale, Amouage and Bond No. 9. In the beginning, it kind of smells like a rose-scented, black, permanent felt-tip marker. I always loved that smell, and it occurs to me that someone should make a fragrance that smells just like that. I'm looking at you, Comme des Garçons. I do like most of the Montale roses, even if they are screechy synthetics, but they don't compare to this rose, which, while strong, smells more authentic, and kind of green and leafy, which I'm guessing is the papyrus. The rose in Amouage's Lyric for men starts out so bright and lively, but it dries down to the lumbering clumsiness of incense and spices consistent with the house's style. I respect Amouage and I do wear Interlude, but the house style for me is just too damned fat. Bloated even. I also wear New York Oud by Bond No. 9. I like it a lot, though I don't care much for that house's copycat approach to product development. And they put out too much too fast (not unlike the perfume mills that are Parfumerie Générale and the other Pierre Guillaume projects). Anyway, New York Oud is incredibly sharp and the rose and oud both smell just as synthetic and screechy as any Montale, if not more so. I've also found that the Bond and Montale oud-rose scents don't evolve well on my skin. The Bond stays the same and just gets weaker with no significant changes. The Montales tend to turn acrid on my skin after a couple of hours. Every now and then, I love wearing ridiculously luxurious, regal scents like those from Amouage, but most of the time, I'm happy with innovative use of a few high-quality ingredients. That's what Oud Silk Mood is. It's so simple and elegant, only a genius could have come up with it. The rose and oud are soft, but definitely noticeable, and complement each other beautifully. They don't compete with each other like they do in New York Oud.

Wise-222

I forgot to say that this fragrance remind me
by rose barbare from guerlain.

Wise-222

This perfume maker genius will not forget his luxury and attractive perfumes which he made long time ago,
such as:le male, rose barbare from guerlain, narciso rodriugez for him, miracle homme from lancome
This man has the added touches on perfume and make it beautiful and prestigious as this fragrance is full of roses and oud wood
Smooth quiet and not disturbing as we know about the smell of strong oud,it's a long lasting fragrance and persistence excellent projection very beautiful.
I advise you to try it or buy it because you will not regret about it.

jhitt793

Very strong rose opening with very little oud perceivable. I cannot imagine this as a unisex fragrance given the intensely floral/rose accord... it is clearly feminine. Whereas cashmere mood gave me nothing but a one note bitter oud, this cologne is nothing more than a one note rose fragrance. More proof that flankers are never usually as good as the original. (25)

keedon

I got a sample of this fragrance and fell in love instantly; been using it daily till the last drop. The oud is very well done- the BEST oud rose combo there is; take it from someone who has Rose Oud/ Montale/ City Love/ Atelier. Downside is the price- only 70ml bottle but 30% concentration (making it an extract). I think one spray will be enough and it last for days! Apparently they use the best oud in the world (from Laos) which explains the price. Am thinking of getting a bottle soon and will be gladly to do splits. I estimate around 30USD for 5ml with decant and shippment. Drop me a message if you are interested.

fazli ikram

a nice smell...ending with the soapy smell..might consider buying it if it is 60% cheaper or less..

JohnMc

For the first hour or so, this offering is a little harsh and unappealing and then WOW - it develops into an alluring, intoxicating rose/oud offering in perfect balance and symmetry - only problem is the price - very, very expensive - I think I'll go for the Jo Malone Rose/Oud

This one is nicely done and everything about it whispers: good quality. Rose is there and so is oud, blended together effortlessly, I can also smell papyrus (it must be the papyrus as it's the same note I can smell in Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme and both scents share three notes: rose, oud and papyrus). I like it a lot. But... For me certainly doesn't win over Guerlain's Rose Nacree du Desert and Atelier's RA. Would I wear it? Happily. Will I buy it? No. In my honest opinion is way too overpriced. But I can add it to my wish list shall I win lottery one day!
I noticed I have cravings for this fragrance! Thank god I have three different shops around that sell MFK so I can pop in an satisfy my craving. Damn that price!!!

Now, this a big floral rose with a very prominent oud on the background. The Bulgarian Rose screams "i am here!". There a certain cool yet dry aspect in this. Luminiscent and airy are the two words I am looking for. As the undulating waves of both rose and oud are constant through out, i catch a delicate hint of chamomile which adds complexity to it. It read feminine to me but I could see men sporting this scent too. I like it, very light and feels like putting on a silk scarf, seeing it effortlessly getting carried away as the breeze passes you. Longevity is very good and projection is moderate.Rate: 4/5

If you're a fan of the David Yurman signature fragrance this fragrance is signature's brother only this one is a bit stronger and has a more pungent smell

It starts off very strong with a smell of oud and that mushroomy smell David Yurman has but then it dries down to a silky oud smell that I really enjoy. Last much longer than DY and is way stronger but for almost 3x the price of DY, why wouldn't it? Very nice and my favorite of the 3 new oud collections by MFK :)

This is nice, it has rose but this is man's fragrance all the way, a refined gentleman. Very nice but overpriced IMO.

Am I the only one to get 'clean body' from FK's scents? Silk Oud is yet another. The next time your partner steps out of the shower, stick your nose in their toweled hair... that is the smell I'm talking about. FK loves it.

Oud tends to go one of two ways with me, as if it were a fire: One is smoldering and warm, the other sputtering and wet. The 'clean bodies' issue pushes Silk into the 'wet' side. And this is my complaint: it never sets off.

It also goes out too quickly. Very faint after just one hour. There is something 'herbal like' coming through, and I"m not sure I like this as much as the snappy, dryer florals.

Dry down is muddled on me, and I would call this a man's fragrance. It does sweeten with time, and I like it as a lingering whisp on my clothes. This is an OK frag with me, which comes down to chemistry and preference.

EN
Only after about 45 min. this perfume develops into an olfactory miracle: sweet and bitter together, sensitive and intriguing. It's indeed the case when it's worth to wait.

IT
Solo dopo circa 45 min. questo profumo si sviluppa in un miracolo olfattivo: dolce e amaro, sensibile ed intrigante. È davvero un caso quando aspettare vale la pena.
