Gentle Fluidity Gold by Maison Francis Kurkdjian is a Amber Vanilla fragrance for women and men. Gentle Fluidity Gold was launched in 2019. The nose behind this fragrance is Francis Kurkdjian.

Same notes, two identities

Working the ingredient to express its full potential and meeting the challenge of composing two different eau de parfum with the same notes: juniper berries, nutmeg, coriander, musks, ambery woods and vanilla. The Gentle Fluidity duo was born of the perfumer’s imagination to offer two distinct olfactory silhouettes, for her or for him.

In Gentle Fluidity’s (Gold) generous, enveloping trail, we can find coriander seed essence and an overdose of musks and vanilla. The floral, spicy note of coriander seeds brings, just like musks, ethereal volume and a lingering trail. In the base notes, the gourmand, reassuring notes of the vanilla accord enhanced by the ambery woods reveal a radiant, bright silhouette. (From the brand's website.)

Imo you just have to wait for it to oxidise (become purple) so it isn’t as sharp

Elixa

Fresh musky vanilla

revolting

Timofejeva

Just beautiful and classy, not sharp, soft, but strong enough to not forget that you are wearing a masterpiece...

dontwannasmellbroke

It's such a clean, sharp vanilla. At first it's a little too sharp but as it develops on the skin it leaves a very beautiful vanilla scent that is a little strong. I guess it almost smelt like alcohol but that is the spice coming through. It's also very long lasting on me. Has a maturity to it, but delicious I love it.

perfumepearl

Wow... This is very nice, It smells like a elevated mixture of Roses Vanille and Dama Bianca/SDJ 40. This smells expensive, and this is totally unisex. I really like the scent, but it might not be feminine enough for me. It really smells beautiful, it's a master piece, but I don't think that it would fit me. It still gets a 10/10, because I enjoy the smell. It's also very high quality perfume, the lasting power is amazing.

Kencalsuda

this isn’t your regular amber-vanilla, the touch of juniper berries extraordinary. There’s a ton of amber-vanilla out there, but this is seriously 70 ml of liquid gold. This is prestige and wealth and powerful femininity in a bottle -man can wear this but a woman would CARRY IT-. I absolutely hate Baccarat and was distant to MFK for that reason. Now i’m down to trying more from the brand. Well done!

PsychedBunny

Nice opening but fades away into powdery milder vanilla. Almost invisible and certainly synthetic. Not a big fan of this fragrance. Nothing special even though the notes sound amazing.

The Scentimentalist

Personally not my favorite MFK. The juniper is metallic and piercing and doesn't mesh well with the rest of the notes. Upon smelling the opening, I realized that opening is the epitome of the "perfumy smell". Sometimes I couldn't wait to scrub it off. A blind buy failure.

heartbeam

I have a like(?)-hate relationship with GFG. I like this perfume as soon as I spray it, but for some reason I just can’t stand smelling it when I’m not in the mood. I can only enjoy it for the first 5 seconds of spraying and that’s it, after that it just becomes this synthetic plasticky mess. Unfortunate for me because I smell this perfume everywhere so it’s nothing groundbreaking either, I think I smell this in public way more than I smell BR540, actually (shame because I love Baccarat). I feel the same with Mancera Roses Vanille and Montale Intense Cafe, so maybe these types of scents just aren’t for me!

honeybunny1977

This one is a real shapeshifter. In cold weather its full of delicious amber and spices. In Spring I am getting a whole other experience.....more boozy and sweet. Its so fun to wear and feels lux!

Emiliukas

This one is my absolute favourite, it’s subtle, it’s feminine, it truly is gentle and golden! Fits almost every outfit and occasion too :))
Can’t really comment on the notes though, I mean, there is vanilla, musk and juniper berries yes, but what is the note of amber exactly? Where I live we make necklaces out of the solidified tree sap, I just can’t imagine it having a scent of it’s own, since it doesn’t have one! Is there like a solely amber perfume that I could smell to understand what it is exactly?

martin_jsgn

Bought this almost three years ago, and I have let it sit without spraying for over a year. I sprayed it earlier today, and it has macerated gloriously. The juice is even darker than my Grand Soir (i have them sit side by side), and oh lord, what an even more beautiful vanilla it has become. The vanilla has gotten creamier but somehow it’s still bright and spicy. I think a well macerated juniper and nutmeg is a fantastic combo for that sparkly effect.

Blossomlove

How this smells like Roses Vanille, I'll never know, but it does. I love GFG, but I keep telling myself I don't need it because it smells so similar to Roses Vanille. I prefer GFG. It's more refined and I love the juniper in it but I think it would be redundant to have both. At $220, I just can't. Also, I have 4oz of Roses Vanille left so it's going to be a while before I run out. Sigh, GFG is just so beautiful and I really feel like I could make this my signature scent. It's so pleasant and honestly so versatile. Maybe I'll sell my Roses Vanille and take the splurge eventually. Out of the three, this is definitely the best, most balanced, and it has amazing performance. I guess I don't understand how you CAN'T smell the similarities. I had no idea that they were compared to one another and when I got my decant of GFG, that's the first thing I thought of. I sprayed GFG on my inner forearm and Roses Vanille on my outer forearm and they are VERY similar. I do get more of a floral vibe to RV and an aromatic one to GFG, but I find them to be 80-90% similar, and apparently 445 other people agree. It's much closer to Roses Vanille than Intense Cafe, though. I see that it's also compared to K'Bridge Club and Delox which are all in that rose+vanilla class.

LeahBear

This thing is so strange. First time I strayed it I got super powdery almost like an old lady Elizabeth Arden but I came back to it today after a few days and now all I get is the rose from Intense Cafe. Is my skin chemistry really that different from day to day? Literally got Intense Cafe out and sprayed on the other wrist for comparison to make sure I’m not going cray and it’s the same GFG is just not as strong. I’m glad I only have a 5ml deluxe sample thing. Guys, just buy Intense Cafe.

Flared Maple

HOW do people feel this smells ANYTHING like Intense Café, Roses Vanille or Rose Gourmand?!

What?!

How?!

Where?!

When?!

Am I missing something here?

Those fragrances smell like each other but they do not smell anything like Gentle Fluidity Gold.
I'm so confused.

ambervxyjul

One of my favorite vanillas. The nutmeg and juniper berries add a slight spice but it’s blended so smoothly. Seriously such an ethereal sexy vanilla. This doesn’t smell like old money but oil money. If you want to smell like generational wealth, she’s the one.

I do wish the longevity was a tad bit better!

maddieonline

The vanilla is definitely there, but there's something very aldehydic there too. I like it and it's a very clean, almost ozonic fragrance which is bizarre because I have never smelt a vanilla like this before. At first, it was very screechy but as it dried down it became a lot more complex. The projection is great but not overwhelming, and it lasts a good 6-7 hours.
Not sure if I'd buy a bottle, but it's definitely an interesting one.

baerro

What a beautiful perfume! I'm actually surprised by how beautiful it is. I have no prior experience with MFK, and usually I prefer oils to EdPs, but this is just such a well-blended, lovely scent. Yes, it has a luxurious, creamy vanilla note, but the juniper berries are what prevent this from being a generic "designer" scent. I imagine this was intended to be the more feminine counterpart to "Silver," though neither perfume follows a strict binary.

I imagine the wearer of "Gold" to be a woman with a lot of responsibilities, who makes big bucks, and has a perfume to which she is loyal - which is sometimes a shield. She wears sleek designer business attire that doesn't wear her no matter the color or pattern, complete with Grace Jones sunglasses.

honeymilkbee

@sleepiestgirlinthevalley

I had a plethora of positive things to say about this scent. Now all I can smell is blistex; it must be the juniper note. Thanks for ruining one my favorite perfumes, now that’s all I can smell.

Jokes aside, she’s an opulent, yet modest sweet lady.

sleepiestgirlinthevalley

for the longest time i was trying to figure out what this reminded me of- at first i thought maybe like the inside of a purse but it’s not quite musty or leathery enough so not that
and then i realized it’s lip balm! but not just any lip balm- this smells, to me, exactly like blistex lol and if u are among the apparent few who know what that smells like surely u know just what i mean

could of course be different on some peoples skin and i think maybe not many people have the scent of blistex in their mind to ever make the connection to so it wouldn’t be a problem but it is for me haha

Loose Goose

Beautiful airy and fizzy vanilla with some amber in the background, very non-cloying.
Mediocre performance

onjelbercier

This. This. This is so opulent yet modest, elegant yet ageless, feminine yet universal, and sweet with a gentle kick of juniper. Gentle Fluidity Gold has a rich delectable quality that is indeed fluid and romantic. It delineates a character comfortable with welcoming all company while remaining refined and disciplined. Absolutely mouth-watering! This is just so lovely and I cannot stop smelling myself!

capitalepalme

This is a MASTERPIECE, and the best vanilla fragrance i've ever smelled -- hands down, period. Many reviewers who are noting this as feminine or feminine leaning are completely missing the point of the Gentle Fluidity collection. It's completely unisex (saying this as a male) and you should feel free to wear what you like without assigning a gender to a fragrance.

Definitely in my top 3 of all MFK fragrances, alongside Gentle Fluidity Silver and Oud Satin Mood.

elianaaa

It’s funny because I usually have a bit of an issue with MFK’s line of perfumes, there’s a certain artificial quality that jumps out at me for whatever reason so I tend to avoid his work. But this is just gorgeous. If champagne and vanilla had a baby this is what it’d smell like. Would be perfect as a signature scent, as I can see this working all year round and suiting a variety of occasions. Smells like quiet luxury, and gives off an understated confidence and femininity. It also lasts a decent amount of time, though it definitely isn’t a powerhouse fragrance. Every time I smell this I think of wearing a sparkly and elegant dress while attending the opera. Very feminine and sophisticated — overall just the most beautiful fragrance.

mooooo

Its more mature than your typical vanilla, so I recommend testing before you buy.

The first 5-30min its dry, powdery, almost floral. As it sits, the vanilla takes over. Its not your basic vanilla, its pine like, a little woody, a little amber, and sweet. Sweet in a blue jolly rancher type of way, slightly synthetic.

Its nice but I prefer my other vanillas.

Xx-neon-xX

To me this was a lovely dry vanilla scent and simply gorgeous, but I have a million vanilla scents and I just don't need one more when I can layer the vanilla with whatever I want any time. Just not a buy for me. Not even at half the price point. If I didn't have any vanillas, maybe. But even that would be a hard sell.

Jazminerenault

Smells nice and luxurious but also doesn’t mix with everyone’s skin chemistry

ellafragrance

This smells SOOOOOO good, it's next on my big wishlist. I think it smells very luxurious but more feminine than unisex.

angagu

Smells a bit medicinal/syrupy, but I can’t say I can identify the source. Possibly the juniper berry + non-gourmand vanilla

Samasama

I am terrified. I love this on paper but just tested it on skin and it literally smells like i pissed my wrist….

But i do love Junoon Noir on skin. Crazy.

Not gonna give it a bad rating based on this, cause it might be skin chemistry. It really does smell lovely elsewhere, remember to always test in skin, humans.

sidesalad

The smooth, sophisticated confidence that exudes when wearing this is beyond compare. What an absolute soft warm hug of a vanilla delight. But my morality questions, can anyone justify this price?

naoms

I wanted to like this so bad but it just wasn't for me.
Unfortunately seems to be the case for most mfk fragrances, something in the formulation doesn't react well with my nose :( The description of amber and vanilla had me running to the store to try it, 2 of my favourite notes, I usually love anything warm, ambery and sweet. At first impression I liked it and decided to purchase it, but after a couple of hours I began to find it nauseating. I felt physically ill to my stomach every time I sprayed it to the point I could barely eat. Something about it was just far too rich and cloying on me. Smelled almost like a rich red wine or port to me, perhaps even a mulled wine with the spice notes (and rose maybe?). I didn't get much of the vanilla or amber unfortunately. I could see why someone would like this but on me it was just far too rich and suffocating which is ironic considering it doesn't seem to have much projection.
I sadly returned the bottle after a couple of weeks because I couldn't stand it. Even worse, it put me off many of my other amber fragrances for a few weeks. Definitely try before you buy this one.

RealMissViking

I know it says Juniper Berry and Amber, but who knows the smell of Juniper Berry? To me this is a fresh, powdery, floral springtime, daytime perfume. It's gentle and smooth, I'm surprised they didn't reveal which florals are used - but I swear there's floral notes. Some purple/violet flowers, like honeysuckle or lilac. I go nose blind almost instantly and only get whiffs of this perfume on me from time to time. Others can smell it on me, and everyone notes the sweet vanillic floral scent. It's not a rose, but some springtime flower that's growing on trees. I don't like florals at all, I only tolerate them - I lean more towards unisex perfumes, so it's not a win for me, but not a flop either. To me the vibe reminds me of a tomboy girl who is trying too hard to be girly, dresses up too proper, puts a ton of makeup and forgets to be natural in her feminine beauty. To me it's too proper and uptight. Like a professional woman who has to go to a work party afterwards. She is always in control and never lets loose. My boyfriend likes this on me, so it's not an off putting smell. But it's not a youthful free-thinking and mysterious fun vibe that I was going for. It's very daytime and proper, zero darkness despite the berry and spicey woods. It's a bit powdery, not too much. Yeah on the dry-down is becomes sweeter and less uptight, but her personality is still too much simple girl-in-her-20s. Overall it's a 6 out of 10 for me, it's very sweet and vanillic but I wanted more substance, more depth.

dandelionsandfire

smells like vanilla bandaids/latex gloves

Prunel

My nose tells me there's rose in this, and a pretty good dose of it. But I'm not a parfumer so hey, what do I know ! This is a pretty inoffensive vanilla fragrance that smells extremely luxurious. You can smell the very nice quality of ingredients. Unisex, leaning feminine. As a guy I could see myself wearing this. Not worth a full bottle for me though. Performance on my skin is monstrous, still projecting hard 7 hours after spraying 1 and a half spray.

KimberMoon

It seems most people, according to this site, have tried Roses Vanille before they did GFG, so my review will be backwards because it was the opposite for me. GFG was love at first sniff in my case. I don’t think it’s really gourmand, but when I smell it, it is delicious and my mouth waters so I kinda feel like it fits that description. I love scents that are cozy and cuddly, (and thus, most likely gourmand), because I feel like I have chronic RBF and I don’t mean to. So a cozy scent sort of cancels that out-maybe not, but that’s my intention. I feel like GFG puts off a cute and huggable vibe. Once I tested Roses Vanille, I did get the similarity, and it even made me question the presence of a rose note in GFG. There is no mistaking the likenesses there. However, there is something so much more inviting with GFG, and that’s why I personally prefer it. There’s a typical flavor to those Mancera scents as well that obviously isn’t present in GFG. I feel like RV is a cool, record shop or thrift store, Sixteen Candlesesque type of vibe. GFG has that same vibe but in a more grown-up,”I worked in a quirky thrift store in my teens, but learned to bake as an adult and just so happen to have made you these amazing cookies you can have because the chicken pot pie I am making for dinner won’t be ready for an hour” type of vibe.

yara.xo

sure it’s nice and elegant but for the brand name and price range i expect to be wowed.. and i was not unfortunately. dry down is nicer than the initial spray. i feel like i’ve smelt this scent a thousand times before

perfumeduhu

Beautiful, light vanilla, with the other notes mostly in the background (though you can smell them once you’ve picked them out). It stands out among other vanilla perfumes because this one is not as sweet and heavy, more airy, which gives it a more sophisticated scent. I have no idea what the other reviewers here are on about regarding this supposedly being weak. Both this and Gentle fluidity silver are very strong actually. If you can’t smell it after two hours, that’s your nose, not the perfume. Do not spray excessively.

szania

Very warm balsamic vanilla. Not for me because I don’t like the coriander note.
Enveloping, luxurious, gentle like a subtle veil lingering on your skin and warming up your environment. High Class scent profile.
The sillage is intimate to arm length moderate.
I would see this as a signature scent for a blond wealthy wive in her mid 30s/40s. Effortlessly sensual, favorite color is beige, wears yellow gold Cartier love bracelets and goes to le Ritz Hotel on week ends. Basically, everything you touch is gold.
This is not your usual sweet vanilla, do not blind buy.
This perfume do not adapt to its wearer and won’t suit you if you are working in a busy environment with a lot of people and sweat.
It can definitely turn sour.

Leolia

I don't get the hype. This was a big NO for me.
When it comes to soft vanilla fragrances nothing compares to my beloved Dama Bianca.

SOTD Gentle Fluidity Gold by Maison Francis Kurkdjian 3/5

Loved this in store and purchased a decant from an online group. The decant smells very different to my nose. In store the GFG smelled like deep and rich amber vanilla. The decat smells like grape cough medicine. Wanted the profile I smelled in store and was a contender for a full bottle purchase. Now I’m a bit confused, maybe there was a large age or maceration difference between the two bottles. Becomes a skin scent in about two hours for my skin.

Review is based on a purchased 10ml decant.

Skittles0216

This is such a delicate and interesting perfume. The vanilla and sweetness is really elevated by the juniper berry, which playfully dances as you wear it and adds a lot of intrigue to an otherwise familiar, trendy scent. The nutmeg adds a beautiful warmth and depth. The scent is very safe, feminine, and contemporary but with some lovely and unique notes that add some interesting complexity. It is really a pleasure to experience. It's great for those who like the idea of vanilla and sweetness, but are turned off by vanilla's tendency to smell boring, cheap, and over played.

To me, this is the perfume of a sophisticated, elegant, and kind woman. That being said, it is not the perfume who the woman who wants to be smelled from several feet away. Such an intimate and kind scent requires more intimacy to detect. If you are looking for projection, you will not be pleased by this. This is not a scent meant to fill up an elevator, but shared as a gift with those lucky enough to get close to you. I am happy with the longevity, and it will last you all day, but it should probably be better considering the price.

Speaking of the price, you are not paying for performance, but for the scent, which really smells like wealth. This is a perfect signature scent if you can afford to use it on a regular basis, which I can't quite stomach.

barta.bart

Yes I agree with what another poster said: It does smell like angels, but I wouldn’t want to be that angel. I didn’t like it. Smells nice but I’m not into overly feminine fragrances. Too sweet, too flowery, too fresh too overpriced and lasts only moderately. It is a gentle scent though

salami328

This is such a beautiful fragrance and with depth and everything. Literally screaming wealth. But it doesnt work with my skin at all. I can be doing 10 sprays, the scent just gonna disappear within an hour. I would love to make this as one of my signature scents for sure. However, the performance is just not it.

christinebyh

This is my favourite one from MFK. I’m a sucker for juniper berry, and the sweet undertone, which is the same sweet scent as BR540, is not too much and done just right.

I do not agree that Angelic Vanilla is a dupe of GF. GF is a fresh skin scent, while AV is just a sweet vanilla. I wish GF projected better and lasted longer.

FragranceRain

Are we sure this really does not have a rose note? Reminds me of Turkish delight. Musky, sweet, rosy, mature pink scent. Not heavy, slightly fresh.

Plm098okn

Zara released Angelic vanilla and it’s a dupe for gentle fluidity. Very very similar

JKanyce

Very lovely, sensual vanilla. However it's so "gentle" that I barely smell it. Does not last longer than an hour on me.

Kyer

If you’re a male, don’t be scared to try this. I blind bought a sample and I instantly fell in love with it, it came off completely unisex to me. So when I looked it up I was surprised to see this as highly feminine leaning, cause at least to me, it’s not. Anyway,

This smells like an ethereal vanilla, it’s subtle, sweet, light and extremely smooth; the musk here works interestingly, it gives the fragrance a “body odor” kind of smell, so that together with the soft vanilla and amber make what I would call the sweat of a higher being lol. Don’t get me wrong, I know body odor and sweat is something that might sound disgusting but trust me, I’m not talking about the dirtiness or something skanky, it just smells like the natural odor of a God, raw yet beautiful and sexy, something Royal, something Gold… it’s one of the most perfect fitting names I’ve seen.

Gentle: Oh yes it is, it’s soft, light and airy, like a gentle caress to your face

Fluidity: It flows in the air, like water in a river

Gold: Smells golden, like a subtle vanilla on a yellow sunset somewhere in a palace full of Angels high in the sky.

dawnnyy

Smelling this reminds me a little of doing opiates. Is super warm sexy and would make you feel energised and rejuvenated on a nasty rainy day. Smells very rich if thats ur thing

Mirjanadam

I love this perfume so much. It literally smells like something ethereal, something gold and light. I may be overdoing it with my next comment but i really feel that this fragrance is so delicate and gentle that angels would smell like this. The name really fits. It lasts a few hours (like 4-5h) on my skin, but i put some on my clothes the other day and i could smell myself the entire day and it was still pretty intense by the end of the day. This is my first niche fragrance and i am just stunned at how it smells so different than what im used to. I am thankful that i dont pick up that intense cafe scent because, sadly, i dont like roses in fragrances as much and roses are all i pick up in intense cafe, so to me those two dont smell similar almost at all, but maybe the “vibe” is a liiiiitle similar but i would never say they are dupes. Anyways if you want to smell like an angel pick this up !!! 😇

user2988

I wished this was less feminine because I love silver so much and would love to have this one as my winter signature. Usually im not so conservative about feminine leaning scents but this was a bit too much for me. Would love to smell this on a woman tho.

However I think grand soir is the perfect unisex vanilla/amber from this house so at least we have that.

I love the concept of the two gentle fluidities, but the "breaking gender boundaries" is a complete lie as silver is very masculine and gold is very feminine. Neither are unisex in my opinion, but fragrance is very subjective and just because It's not my preference doesn't mean another guy might like to wear this, just as some women like to wear silver.

clairenen

i smelled this yesterday and i think i ascended to godhood

Saltanato

It looks like Montale Intense Cafe but less silage...

6/10

Bizzy1995

A soft warm vanilla ambery scent with a touch of musk and very faint lingering woodiness. I would say there is a tiny bit of fruity notes probably from the juniper berries. This would make for a good skin scent in intimate scenarios where you would want to come across as “naturally” smelling good without the loudness of other perfumes. Definitely a feminine fragrance

Gabriella.0

To me it's a fruity, sweet powdery scent, very feminine and summery to me. It's smooth and creamy with just a bit of a fruity kick (the juniper I suppose). It's a gorgeous fragrance, but honestly... it's underwhelming. The silver version blew my mind, while this makes me constantly think 'where did I smell this before??'. I'm on the verge with it, I feel like the price tag is too high for what it offers, especially conpared to its 'pair' for which I can justify the price

noneya88

I get the juniper berries and rose in the front and some wood and vanilla in the background. This is one that I think I'd really appreciate on someone else in passing but the juniper and rose on me are too screechy and I can feel a migraine begging to take over.

Dexter G

I am very late (fashionably?? 😉) to the MFK scene. I stumbled across 724 and fell in love. 724 piqued my interest and further investigation led me to gentle Fluidity Gold. I was curious about the unisex (really?) combo idea...a very nice idea. While Silver was pleasant enough...it needs a man to shine. And then we have the magical potion of Gold. I didnt expect to fall in love ( again) but I have. This fragrance is like the softest cashmere jumper hugging you while it snows outside. It is oh so sweet, so very feminine and is so eloquently blended. I enjoyed the layers unravelling as my day progressed. This is a beauty, easily in my top 4 winter perfumes. Divine.

miimiis

This smells like sweat, mixed with something sweet, most likely the vanilla. I tried wearing this fragrance a few times before giving up on it. I sprayed it on myself, on clothes, on those paper blotter things, it just smells like body odor that you tried masking with some light sweet body spray. This doesn't smell elegant or sophisticated to me. Definitely not a safe blind buy.

CrisMS

Don't care what anyone says, MFK makes some really elegant refined perfumes. To my nose, this is a great spicy aromatic vanilla. Juniper and coriander mixed with high quality vanilla, blended in such a way that it exudes femininity, sophistication and class. I'm getting a back up bottle of this asap.
Ever since I smelled this one, I've been on a hunt for juniper vanilla combos. I'll get Dans Paris Celine next. I'm not crazy for feminine scents in general, but this one makes my mouth water, not in a gourmand ish way, but in "I want to bathe in this" kind of way. Not a beast mode, but it probably wouldn't suit the scent profile anyway. A decent lasting with moderate projection.

PS: I have the new bottle with the purple-ish color. Never tried the pre-reformulated golden one. FK never commented on the reformulation, though I hear it's pretty obvious for people who tried both versions.

armenianperfumelover

I was gifted this as a birthday present and I'm very glad it came with a gift receipt. I was not a fan of this at all, and it had been hyped up as a great vanilla perfume on tiktok. I'm in my early 20s and this is definitely a more mature perfume and it could lean unisex if you really want it to. I love vanilla perfumes but this did not smell good to me at all. It reminds me of a very sweet grape cough syrup I would have as a little kid mixed with vanilla. It's very syrupy in a medicinal way with another sharp note that stings my nostrils and gives me a headache. This is for sure not a safe blind buy or a safe gift unless the recipient can return it. I really wanted to like this one as I have baccarat rouge 540 and would love to support an Armenian perfumer, but I was not a fan of it and was glad I could return it. I believe I had also smelled this scent on a coworker and I didn't like it at all. I think this just proves that I didn't like it with my skin chemistry and not even another person's skin chemistry. I don't think I would have liked it either if I let it macerate like how some people might suggest but try to get a sample or try it in the store before buying it.

FragranceFlairLatrice

I’m so sad. So, I bought GFG because of all the hype. And…it smells like Vaporub and bandaids on me. It starts out very sweet, then morphs into a medicinal, latex combo. I’m so disappointed. I don’t want to smell like a Med-Surg patient on a date 😢

Charllife

This is stunning, smells like angels. I’m head over heels and I never want to be without it.

sleg

tried to like it but i simply cannot smell it on my skin. it’s too subtle and plain

layyelisee

The dry down is what made me fall in love!
This fragrance was a blind buy for me because I saw many reviews saying that this is the perfect scent for vanilla lovers. My first impression was that this scent was extremely underwhelming. I could barely smell it and that it has very low to moderate sillage.
After going to the grocery store and coming back home, I could not stop smelling the most intoxicating vanilla scent. The dry down scent is so beautiful. I feel like I’m in a scent bubble of vanilla. I LOVE this scent. The only reason that I am not 100% in love with this scent is because the sillage is not strong. I put on body oils and hydrated my skin and the sillage is still very moderate. This is a great scent for layering but on its own, it’s not very impressive. Overall beautiful scent, though.

Alright, to all of you more experienced/knowledgeable peeps, what is it about Baccarat and GFG that gives me an almost metallic note? Is it the amber? Is it just my nose? Do I need to let them macerate? I hardly get any vanilla from GFG. What is wrong with me?! 😆🙂🙃🙂😁

rainfortheend

Instant creamy flowers melting into vanilla. Delicious-- almost like ice cream. Beautiful! Friendly, classy, sweet. Bit of interesting piney spicey showing up after a bit, with the vanilla ice cream under it. However when people say a fragrance turns to playdoh on them, I'm getting a bit of this now. Or fig. But in the long term I get a soft marshmallowy vanilla-- beautiful. The vanilla is so lovely that the play doh-ish phase is worth it. // Also: Wore it again. Not getting play-doh. I love this stuff. Still going strong 4+ hours later. I want a decant!

victoriabarretta

I’m giving this my first full wear and it gives suggestions of both Intense Cafe and Mon Guerlain to me. But a lighter airier version of both. The aromatic nature feels like Mon Guerlain and the juniper gives a ‘red berry/rose’ vibe which I think reminds me of Intense Cafe. Really nice!

katolentino

This scent whispers sexy.. While most fragrances scream it. It's intriguing yet welcoming. She is mysterious, flirty and you want to find out more. Right when you think you have her figured out, she surprises you.

f4iry

i love this so much, you can literally smell every note and it gives princess while being so easy to wear. i love wearing this with cheirosa 68.

Atinea Noir

Pretty identical to Jeroboam Insulo. Warm vanillic opening that turns fresh spicy hazelnuty midway. Quite gourmand. Youthful, casual and very sweet from start to finish.

betheljaviles

I am absolutely in love with this fragrance! Not your "typical", basic vanilla and the juniper adds a certain depth and mystery to it that I'm particularly drawn to. I use a hand soap from B&BW that is winter themed and also has the juniper berry and vanilla mix. Because of this association, this is automatically a scent I reach for when snow is on the ground. It's work friendly, has moderate sillage and on my skin lasts the entire day. I love layering this with Kuumba vanilla bean fragrance oil! Saving up for a full bottle!!!

Perpetua

I was so excited to try this, and now that I have I don’t understand the hype. It’s very mature, generic, and reminds me of entering a campground bathroom after an elderly lady. I saw other reviews mentioning diapers and I think it’s very much that “public bathroom air freshener” note that they’re getting. I will not be buying a full size of this.

aidaaa.m

i bought this as a blind buy and i was very scared i wouldn’t like it. when i sprayed it i fell in love. it s the perfect mix of a sweet vanilla fragrance and a fresh fragrance. the dry down is more vanilla and lasts on you hours, even if you take a shower.

TinyNose

A musky masterpiece, as the name suggests everything about this is gentle. It's perfectly blended.

It lasted 12 hours on me and I caught small whiffs of it on my pillow the next morning. I wore it to a job interview and I truly felt like that b the whole time. It's cozy without being cloying.

GFG is waking up in the afternoon in an expensive hotel with lover's hands gently holding you. The sun is warming your skin gently beaming through the window. You drink a perfect coffee in your silk gown with your skin still damp from the shower. 100/10

nichoa99

Loooooooooove. I was worried this wouldn't live up to the hype but it does. The only MFK I've smelled. I actually didn't like it at first, I thought it was boring and just generic "perfume-y". But I kept smelling it and fell in love. Simple, elegant, and unique. A little spicy, sweet, and boozy. Not too heavy at all. I bought the Julianna's dupe, and it is a lot more punchy. I love it. It has a bit of a strong soapiness on initial spray, but the dry down is spot on.

Clws

GFG has that arabic musc that turns animalic or oud accord like to me, or that's how my nose interprets it. I honestly don't smell a vanilla. It smells exactly to my nose as Rose Gourmand, Roses Vanille and Intense Cafe. It's just not a one off either, I've tested all of these fragrances and even bought 2 of them and they haven't changed over time (to my nose). Noses smell things differently, one note may dominate and crowd out another changing the composition entirely to a certain person. I know this won't be a popular opinion, but I read all reviews, not just the glowing ones. I hate blind buying, but I do it all the time, lol. I appreciate different views, they make me slow down and test first. I can't describe to you the disappointment of buying Roses Vanille, craving roses and vanilla, and then smelling what I smelled. Same happened here, wanting a gently spicy vanilla and getting Roses Vanille. But at least I just had a tester sized disappointment - because I read all the reviews. ;)

ljsmith

Silky, feminine, jammy juicy and powdery. Wearing this feels like I have beautiful billowing chiffon scarves of scent trail that follow me wherever I walk.

RachelPhd

I bought this bottle of perfume because I really wanted to add an MFK to my collection and cannot handle Baccarat Rouge 540 (sadly!). This perfume is so gorgeous, sophisticated, and complex. I experience it as a spicy, woody vanilla. It is not a sweet vanilla. It is absolutely unisex. It lasts on my skin and clothes for like 12 plus hours. It is one of those perfumes that evolves and almost strengthens as it warms up on the skin. So after an hour or two, it really shines. I would say this is most appropriate for a fancy night out in the winter, when you're all bundled up and going to the opera and a fancy dinner. Although I did wear it to a bowling alley to a 6-year old's birthday party once, which was probably inappropriate. Highly, highly recommend testing it out if you are looking for a special vanilla scent for your collection.

marchat

@aaronmilic, you are sooo right! I had completely forgotten how cabbage patch kids smelled until I read your comment. Now that is forever stuck in my head! Btw, I like the scent.

aaronmilic

I bought this for the simple fact it reminds me of my childhood in that it smells exactly like a Cabbage Patch Kid.

Performs very well, cozy, I usually wear it indoors in the winter.

LouD23

This is Roses Vanille.
It's not the Rose, it's the vanilla scented playdoh underneath. So...Roses Vanille, minus the Roses and plus a little dust.
They don't smell the exact same when I press my nose to my wrist, but the wafts of it, the scent trail is indistinguishable from RV.

Edit: A lot of other reviewers can't fathom how this being being compared to RV or IC. I can't fathom how it couldn't be! They are obviously getting their Amber & Vanilla from the same place.

Edit 2: giving this another try, and while the amber/vanilla is still bothersome just as it is in Montale and Mancera offerings, I do see there is a difference. Gold has no rose, I think people are smelling Roses only because they associate that awful mix with Roses Vanille. There is a hint of spice, though indiscerable as nutmeg and cardamom, its very Amber forward, and the juniper doesn't come through at all. I wish they had enhanced that note and put more of a focus on it, maybe added some pine to elevate it. The juniper would have added a character and interest to this that just isn't there. The Amber Vanilla overpowers every other note and that's all I can really smell. This is darker and dustier, while Roses Vanille is brighter and has a sparkle. I tried it in my hair and thought I got the faint scent of berries with the amber this time, but Juniper isn't a fruity scent, it's more piney and green, so it must have been wishful thinking. I would have loved some fresh green aromatics to come through in this. I will keep trying over the next few days, but so far, I can't get over 'that' note, just like with Montale/Mancera.
I will probably not be getting a bottle because of that. Trying La Rose next, maybe that one will be a better fit for me.

Ferra_Verto

Creamy and warm vanilla with a very distinct rose and powdery violet notes. I'm surprised neither violet nor rose is listed, as it's very prominent to my nose during this scent's life.
Creates a nice little cocoon around the body, you'll definitely be noticed when wearing this.
This is great all year round except for summer, it's a bit too 'much' when it's too warm.
I'd wager it's full bottle worthy if the notes interest you.

k@triin

tried this one at the airport and i didn't like it. first sniff was okay, vanilla, pleasant but then it turned into heavy baccarat rouge without sweetness. it's a no for me

meredithxx

Comforting, creamy vanilla. Soft, warm, light, feminine. Very pretty and natural. Sits close to the skin but definitely projects with movement. The nutmeg is contributing to the woody note but very subtly. I could still smell it lightly by the end of the day, so decent longevity. The website describes a note of coriander here as “green metallic” and being zesty and slightly peppery, but I’m not noticing anything spicy here.

I picture this as a fragrance worn at a cozy winter holiday get-together. Lots of small twinkling white lights. Worn with an oversized neutral sweater & delicate gold hoop earrings.

Working my way through the MFK mini fragrance wardrobe for her. This one is really well-named as gentle and gold. A bit of a mature scent, definitely non-offensive. Overall, to me it’s a well done vanilla scent that is not sickly sweet but not one I feel compelled to purchase. Eau Duelle is still my favorite vanilla that does have that added spice.

addictpiglet

Smells identical to Intense Café, only intense café is better performing. I like them both enough to keep the sample bottles in my purse in case of emergencies where I forget to put on perfume, but not enough to buy a full bottle. Especially when there is a vanilla fragrance jumping out of every corner these days.

smoergari

smells exactly like some old escada perfume i used to own way back. not worth the price imo, nothing special about this one unfortunately.

Lukasssss

The first comparison that came to my mind when smelling this was Armani’s discontinued Code Absolu. The powdery vanilla note smells similar, but Gentle Fluidity Gold is way more feminine. It is very pleasant and likeable, but I think it is pretty expensive for what it offers. It is not super unique. 7/10.

FabricatedFashion

I tested both Gentle Fluidity Gold and Grand Soir. On my skin this settles beautifully, and develops into a sophisticated vanilla scent. Grand Soir was too spicy on my skin, and doesn't have the same projection as GFG. Feminine and sophisticated. While it smells delicate, I had good projection with this.

katiesimpsonhair

A very subtle fragrance which doesn’t really excite me. I am getting a slight wee small from this and it’s not what I was expecting. It’s nothing amazing at all.

karinavi

Had a clone of this that I absolutely loved so I thought purchasing a full bottle of this fragrance was a no brainer. However, I sprayed GFG on my wrist only to find that I couldn't smell anything. There was a faint whisper of a smell but I couldn't detect any notes. Shortly thereafter, I felt my throat begin to close up. This had never happened with a perfume before, I was bewildered. After looking into allergies for each note, I came to the conclusion that I am likely allergic to juniper berries as the symptoms of an allergic reaction to them aligned with what I experienced. The perfume contains Linalool and Limonene which both are extracted partly from juniper berries. Such a shame, a gorgeous fragrance and bottle that I just don't get to enjoy or give a proper review for.

This review obviously isn't helpful to anyone except the few that might have this allergy, let this be a cautionary tale.
I'm so curious, has this happened to anyone else???

p1eh

I am a dude and I wear this I absolutely love this fragrance.

scnofthcrime

I really want to like this and this is a nice scent, but ultimately not full bottle worthy on me. I've given this three full day wear tests at this point. This scent is primarily powder with vanilla and some kind of (unlisted) light floral (maybe jasmine) on me. I don't really detect the juniper at all on me. I don't get any rose at all and I don't understand all the reviewers saying this is Roses Vanille... But perhaps this is one you have to test before buying since apparently some get a strong rose note and some of us do not.

Ultimately this is too powdery for my taste, but it is a nice one and I've found is a compliment getter. Lasts for a long time, but becomes a skin scent within a couple hours.

Marah.Gourmand

Let's not act like this isn't Roses Vanille by Mancera in a different bottle, no one can convince me this has no rose note!!! It even has the unlisted honey note in Roses vanille

Maddiivanillaattic

By far the best perfume I’ve ever smelt. It is this cozy beautiful vanilla that is so feminine. There’s nothing to say to really do it justice, but it is an expensive smelly vanilla and you will just feel so girly while wearing it. The only downside is I find it doesn’t last as long, perhaps if they had a matching moisturiser to layer it on top of it would increase the longevity!

KerriZ

GF - gold is sweet and creamy like a warm mug of hot vanilla with the slightest bit of amber on the dry down. It is perfect fragrance for the holiday season. It is close to the skin and light on longevity so be prepared to spray a lot and often.

Flared Maple

Very soft, warm and cozy fragrance.

I wish it lasted longer. I get about 2 hours projections and then it turns into a skin scent for another 4 hours.

It has a fleeting sweetness reminiscent of BR540 in the sense that the silage is where this fragrance really shines.

After your spray it on, the wind might blow a certain way or you move around and suddenly you are captivated by a slight sweetness in the air. Almost like those floating scent clouds in cartoons, you are instantly surprised and drawn to it. It only lasts half a second though and then you are left wanting more. But smelling your wrist won't get the same effect.
It creates this yearning effect, its moreish.
You cant wait until you catch a glimpse of your own scent trail.

Its hard to describe, but people who have tried BR540 or Gentle fluidity might have the same experience and know what I mean.

ekstasy

The perfect spring fragrance! Gentle Fluidity is a sweet and delicate scent that exudes soft feminine energy

katerinascent

This perfume smells on my skin like literal honey with lets say a sharpness from the juniper berries. It smells slightly sickly, but I think it would work wonderfully for a party or in spring. It smells like butter and honey, there is no other way to describe it, but on my skin it does not last too long unfortunately…

keiramack

Unbelievable. Dreamy sweet milky vanilla that makes me want to lick my own arm, feels like a vanilla milkshake with berries on top was poured all over me, not like a shitty cheap vanilla. I have never had so many compliments than when I wear this. It’s lactonic and sweet and dries down to a musky powdery scent. I love love love it. My favourite perfume of ALL time…. And I have a lot of perfumes

livaola

Smells so good. Instantly fell in love with it when I smelt it for the first time. 100% going to purchase it. Such a nice everyday vanilla scent!

Bondno9girl

I only pick up little similarities to mancera roses vanille or montale intense Cafe. This is way less sweet than those 2 which I actually prefer. This is a powdery vanilla that isn't overly sweet at all. I layer this with 7 virtues vanilla woods to get that sweet kick I am looking for and the layer well together. I bought the full size bottle but will not repurchase. Longevity is not great on me and it's just not sweet enough. I will use it up by layering. I way prefer baccarat which gives me spun sugar vibes the longer I wear it and the dental/latex notes everyone picks up on, I adore. No one wears that where I am from and if they do its very little people. Baccarat is the winner from the mfk line for me and will always be a repurchase. Not super impressed with gentle fluidity gold.

Edit: sold my bottle, not for me unfortunately

Enrium

Gentle Fluidity Gold is the feminine-leaning yin to GF Silver's mineralic yang. A pair of perfumes made from the same ingredients but in differing proportions, this concept was an intriguing exercise in olfactory artwork from Francis Kurkdijan. High concept aside, as standalone scents, they are both pretty unremarkable, if elegant and good-quality. GF Silver is a fairly unremarkable ambroxan-heavy masculine scent, while GF Gold is a musky, powdery vanilla scent that leans more feminine.

GFG opens with a sweet, powdery vanilla note, dry and bold, underscored by musky amber. It is powdery in the manner of vintage make-up initially, with a slight rose quality, despite rose not being listed among the notes. It reminds me of Turkish delight in fact - the authentic rose-flavoured kind that comes in a box covered in powdery icing sugar. This is the best phase of this scent.

As it develops, it settles into a slightly dirty, sweet musky scent, with some woodiness and soft spice. There is a synthetic quality to it here, thanks to the ambroxan note, but it is reasonably pleasant. It is powdery and musky until final fade, linear until it fades. The aromatic elements of GF Silver are absent here - the focus is very much on the vanilla and amber notes. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting. It is a feminine-leaning cold weather scent in my opinion, an easy reach for everyday wear.

I loved the Turkish delight phase, but thereafter it becomes a generic musky-vanilla scent that is nothing special, and overall it is not an exceptional example of its genre. It is still pleasant and decent overall, but perhaps not special enough to justify the price. 3/5.

Commonscents99

GFG is sweet vanilla with powder in the initial spray, it quickly turns to a musky dirty amber in the drydown. It smells like an expensive vanilla amber perfume that’s been worn after late night hours of partying. This is nice don’t get me wrong it’s just not unique enough for me to justify the price.

ForTheLoveOfFrag

I own and love BR540 but wanted something a little more suited for "everyday" use during cooler weather, so I blind bought a FB and have yet to regret that decision! My hubby said that the trail and projection isn't as strong as the BR540 but is is by no means a skin scent. I had a sample of Xerjoff K'Bridge Club (LOVE that one too) and it's no wear near this. It doesn't remind me of and isn't similar to it. In fact, to me, K'Bridge Club is a smoother, better, Delina.

The notes don't fight for control to stand out, they're perfectly simpatico. On my skin, there is a soft, comforting vanilla swirling with woods and berries (no rose, thankfully) that leans feminine w/o being traditionally girly. The sweetness isn't a sugared one and it seems like that is coming more from the berries than the vanilla. This doesn't read powdery at all on me. Oud Satin Mood was a mature powder bomb that stuck in the back of my throat.

It's winter where I am but the weather is crazy, so it was 70's today and it wasn't heavy or cloying. I can't wait to see what this is like in 40 degree temps. This will always be a staple in my closet, that's for sure!

Cursedbxrbie

Love it, love it, love it!

Powdery vanilla. Extremly sophisticated, luxurious and sexy.

Update: Extremely perfect for layering

stitcherista

I've tested this several times but it never hit the mark of making me want a bottle. On a cool November day it elicited a favorable "that smells nice!" comment from someone nearby right after I sprayed it, but the longer I wore it the less I liked it. I tried washing it off several times but it stayed put and made me nauseous. All that from one spray!

My main complaint is it smells synthetic, as most MFK perfumes do. I love Grand Soir and wear it in the winter, but that's the only MFK I can stomach.

elysiana

it's dirty, musky rose, and also spicy vanilla, and also a somewhat medicinal metallic smell on my skin. i joked that they combined a bunch of popular fragrances but created a new and confusing experience.

also, i don't get any coffee scent like some comments mention!

Letadorata

I'm officially in love with this perfume. My first encounter with this perfume was quite interesting. I tried a random perfume in Zara and I kept smelling it all day, I liked it so much. Then I wondered which perfume this was an imitation of. Because you know Zara always manufactures imitations of famous and popular perfumes. That's how I reached GFG. I immediately went to the store and bought this perfume. And every time I wear it, I can't get enough of smelling myself. I can say I'm in love.

Goldena35

This is pretty. It’s well blended and what they say about a trail is true in my experience so far. I feel a little Shalimar EDT DNA here… but warmed up. The juniper twist is interesting bringing a fizzy brightness. I won’t go as far to say this is boring but it doesn’t invoke much a response from me. I like it and will enjoy my decant but don’t see purchasing it (even if it wasn’t $$$).

**UPDATE** I will eat my words again. This grew on me. I wore it over the 2023 holidays and it was received very well by my perfume hating family. It has become my easy reach / do not offend perfume. Also I found it truly shines in the drydown. That vanilla is gorgeous! I already purchased another decant and considering FB. 🙃

Odor Aeternitatis

Gentle fluidity gold has the same ingredients as the silver one while the gold one is more feminine and the silver one is more masculine. This one is quite feminine with a higher vanilla note and a more powdery feeling. The sillage of the silver one was excellent and higher than this one.
Fluidity gold has a very glamerous top note but it's becoming very boring and typical in dry down. Overall of the two, the silver one is a better fragrance and a more refined one. I gave that one 7.5/10 but to me this one get

6.5/10

Gin frappe! Imagine you're in a high-end cocktail bar in London and you're served with a wondrous frothy gin cocktail with whipped bourbon vanilla cream and powdery dustings of freshly grated nutmeg and coriander. Instead of the usual booziness that most alcohol-inspired fragrances are accompanied by, the wintery juniper berry is airy, astringent, and adds a metallic coolness the composition. This is a fragrance of contrasts, sweet and spicy, warm and metallic. A pleasant office-friendly vanilla with interest and character.

simnonin

I wore this for the first time in the heat and humidity of Mexico and it rated poorly. I'm wearing it again on a cool Canadian morning and it's gorgeous: 10/10. Though it feels like a simple vanilla/amber/musk, there's something incredibly alluring about it, it's an aphrodisiac ♥

JoanaVanilla

Oh great! Another roses vanille/ rose gourmand/ intense cafe clone ...at least to my nose. A little bit more tolerable since it is not as intense as the previous ones. Had high hopes since roses aren't listed in the notes and i love vanillas, but i smell the (inexistent) roses and i absolutely hate it.

SaraZigova

Somehow i find it dull 🤷🏽♀️

Gentle Fluidity Gold Maison Francis Kurkdjian
(21336, 175 - 180 ml. of 200 ml., 200 USD)

Gentle Fluidity Gold is linear vanilla powdery scent.
Good for everyday use and perfect clean girly aesthetic.

Most aspect I got is Vanilla, Musk, Sandalwood in Powdery manner and Ambroxan.
Easy to understand and easy to use, I find this project massively but still much tame.
Very well love and accept. I think this is core style of Maison Francis Kurkdjian's work.

Same ball park to The World According to Auther by Penheligon's
And Eau Duelle by Diptyue however this leans more Musky / Woody than Incense provided on that one.
This one still manages to have moderate sweetness and then Eau Duelle and The World According to Auther.

Beautifully done but can easily mislead as designer.
In the way sweeten vanilla musky, but this elevated.

Score : 7/10
Projection : Moderate-High
Longevity : TBA
Classfication : Unisex but beautiful for Femme.
Summary : Musky Powdery Vanille.

elz2027

This is my second review of this beauty. When I purchased this, it was a hot Dubai summer. I finished half a bottle within a month trying to make it live longer on my skin. I got super disappointed. I only wear it for short errands since then. I still love the scent, an easy reach for me, but it’s a disappointment on summers even if if the scent is actually summer friendly. only the longevity is non existent.

BUT NOW. That the weather is starting to cool down, I’m inlove again like I was when I bought it. It’s smooth and lovely and pretty and sweet without being too sweet and for the first time in months, it lasted more than half a day with just one spray (I just layered it with something else but I can still smell it!!!)

I can’t wait to wear this alone on a full work day to finally see its full potential. :) But overall, this is a LOVE. And will always be even if I can’t wear it on summers. This will always be in my collection and might but a 200ml once I finish my 75ml one. ❤️

VovanKuvalda

Just bought it. Really good elegant cold scent. A little bit feminine. Longevity is poor 3-4 hours. Reminds me a smell of a pink lemonade, with berries. 8.9/10

hypothesise

had this fragrance for over a year and i’m still as fond of it as i was in the very first month of wearing it; despite the occasional bouts of noseblindness, this is by far my most successful blind-buy to date. the simplest way i could describe it is that it has the vibe of an airier, FAR more smoothly refined Intense Cafe [minus the sharp synthetic notes and jammy rose that Montale is notorious for].

imagine a scenario wherein a gourmet chef is being tasked to reconstruct/elevate simple cotton candy into something worthy of being sold at a michelin restaurant. hence the infusion of coriander, juniper & nutmeg. at first i used to get the faiiiintestt hint of playdough-babydoll head sweetness which was initially alarming bc i HATE that smell [a la Hypnotic Poison] but those days are gone. signature scent worthy for sure, elegant, uncomplicated. great lasting power but not a screamer by any means because of the soft musk. very highly complimented during intimate encounters. MFK did their big one w/ this imo

aromafantastic

A slightly spicy vanilla with an element of elegance to it.
The coriander stops it from being overly sweet and crossing that line between sweet and cloying.
It’s not as loud as baccarat rouge in a good way.
It’s not an overly complex fragrance but very well done, it’s very pleasant.
It’s very versatile, can be used on any weather and any ocassion.
Signature scent worthy.

leximayxo

I love it.. just creamy vanilla but so different than your average vanilla cuz of the berries and coriander at the same time.. i have no money so I will not be buying a fb but trust I WOULD ... i love it...

cyclone1391

The spice in the beginning is off putting, then it's a soft play doh like vanilla, then it's gone. At first sniff it immediately reminded me of Commodity Gold and Diptyque Eau Duelle Edt, but both of those perform better.

Ailee

@Kali85 i 200% agree with u...im a teacher and i can smell this perfume in every class i enter...my students love this type of scent , this has been massively duped so you can smell this on everyone .. nothing so exclusive about it... smells cheap to me... so many other perfumes smell like this too.

Kali85

There's no rose (or any other florals, for that matter) and no coffee in here. How can anyone say this smells even remotely similar to Intense Café? Yes, there's vanilla and musk... like 70% of the fragrances on the market.

Heathermarie8617

I absolutely LOVE this fragrance. It's so ethereal and soft but also sweet and "jammy". The only downfall of this perfume is that it doesn't seem to project for very long and quickly becomes a very, very close to the skin scent. Love, love, love.

HoneyRum

I LOVE this scent, I just wish it performed better. It’s like roses vanille or intense cafe without the rose and with added juniper. It’s so good and works more or less year round. The Julianna’s perfume dupe is extremely close and lasts a little bit longer than this one but neither one of them perform great on me unfortunately. Might pick up another bottle some time if I catch it on sale somewhere but I just can’t justify it at its full price considering no one else can smell it on me past about 4 hours.

CJJLOVESFUMES

To my nose the sweetness in the opening reminds me of the opening of Vanilla 28 and most notably my Vanilla 28 hand cream. I love it!

Ambrocia scents

No one talks about how this smells like a cousin to intense cafe.roses vanille has a bit more character than this.i think the reason I find this a bit underwhelming is because it smells like a watered down version of intense cafe, and I smelled and fell in love with intense cafe first.and so if u have intense cafe/ roses vanille I wouldn't say you need this, the scent profile is too similar to those perfumes🤷🏾♀️

MareaCamacho

I have a 2ml sample of this and it is gorgeous. Definitely on my wish list. It's reminiscent of the way I used to smell my mom's very expensive powders as a young child. I'm definitely going to consider adding this to my rotation. Truly beautiful and so feminine.

annikahuhd

I ordered a 2ml sample of this, and the result was exactly what I was afraid of - this became an instant LOVE.

The initial spray is kind of sharp but pleasant, and then it dries down to vanillic, but definitely not too heavy. It's sophisticated but not boring. Sweet, but not cloying. Just very, very pleasant overall. I can't help but smile when I smell this! Signature scent worthy, for sure.

For the price, longevity could be better but I'm not mad at it.

// Also, I don't agree that Intense Cafe is similar to this. They might remind each other vaguely when Intense Cafe is very very very dried down but otherwise, I don't see any similarities.

cheleine

Undeniably beautiful. It does in fact feel “gold”.
BUT! There’s a synthetic/metallic note coming through, something that won’t persuade me to buy a full bottle.
Also, I feel like I’ve smelled similar scents before. It doesn’t feel new or that special for that price point.

Gourmandgurl888

Update: a great friend bought this for me and I am so happy with it! Yes it’s the same as my original review with projection but I don’t care I love it too much!

It’s been a while since I’ve faced such a dilemma with a fragrance…

Technically when i smelt it about a year ago I was thinking about it for my cousin as it was soft and something nice. I didn’t end up buying it for her nor did I buy it at all lol.

The second time I tried it was about three weeks ago and that’s when the hell started because why am in all of a sudden in love with this?! This at first sniff is like pulling on a cashmere blanket/scarf/sweater and hugging your favourite person, maybe even more specifically hugging them the first time you’ve seen them in a while for Christmas?.. idk the mind wanders with crazy imagery with fragrances.

Then I tried it again yesterday as well as another fragrance and was like yep this and the other fragrance I love, the problem? Over time I didn’t like the other fragrance but its projection on my skin was incredible! Gentle fluidity’s projection?… not even arms length or maybe a whiff here and there but very weak so it’s easily a skin scent and idk about you but I like my fragrances to project well at least at arms length.

But whatever crack is in this I can’t get over! After work I tried it on my skin yet again and asked 3 different guys what their opinion of this is as I’ve seen from some reviews that it’s really sexy and one said that exactly, one didn’t like it but it wasn’t his style even on feminine scents which I respected and the other really liked it. So I’m torn… To spend a decent penny on a fragrance that I love but know I’ll have to douse myself in just to maybe get arms length projection if I’m lucky? Or to simply pass on this and pray to god that someone can find a scent 95% close to this that actually projects… if anyone has any recommendations??

And NO this does NOT smell like Intense Cafe! It must be a different climate maybe even different world because where I live they aren’t even related or in the same category where the hell are you smelling rose in this fragrance??????? And even coffee???? That might be the most confusing similar fragrance recommendation I’ve ever seen.

gelkita

My bottle is nearly empty and I need to repurchase a new one, I was concerned regarding the purple hue which mine hasn’t (pale yellow) so I wrote an email to the brand.

Well I was surprised to learn that PURPLE IS THE NATURAL COLOR of the scent stripped from any dye (they removed the dye of the original scent) but did not change any ingredient nor reformulated it !

And they assured me that the scent will not stain white or light clothes despite it being purple 👍🏻

strawberrystar

At first, I really smelled the similarity to Intense Cafe and Roses Vanille, and I don't care much for this DNA unfortunately. However a few days later I tried it again and it is much different now, I dont find these three scents as similar anymore, Gentle Fluidity Gold became a beautiful vanilla scent, very very sweet. I like it, I can't wait to wear it more in the coming months.

iamemili

I smelled this in a perfume store, sprayed it on my skin, but inside mixed with all the perfumes it was not giving. When I went outside and smelled it again OHMYLAAAWDDD😭 I did a 180 and turned right back to go and buy it. 2 random guys stopped me asking what perfume I’m wearing because it smells super sexy! It is definitely 10/10 for me. Sexiest vanilla perfume I own. Definitely works with my pheromones😭❤️

mistrall

I see that this is compared to Intense Cafe and Roses Vanille, I honestly cannot fathom how. To me, the latter two are in a way similar to each other, but Gentle Fluidity is just a completely different story. Maybe it’s weather/climate dependent.

perfectly_pink

Love this. Super sweet, in that rich opulent way like baccarat 540. To me this isn’t a basic vanilla, it’s a rich, sweet perfume with vanilla and the juniper berry making it juicy without being fruity, juniper berry has a depth to me. It’s Strong, projects and long lasting, a little goes a long way. This is a perfume that grew on me and I definitely needed time with it, now I love it. It feels different depending on the day, quite a complex fragrance in that way. Rich, simple fragrance but with depth, very easy to wear. Love it

JackieShef

To me this is just a headache in a bottle. An expensive headache. I get no vanilla, none of the lovely notes listed, just cheap smelling fruits and something like liquorice combined with that horrific sythentic base that this house seems to overuse. A nose burning disinfectant, that, typically with all perfumes I dislike, hangs around FOREVER.

TateFragrance

If you wear this and you're a girl.... you'll have everyone going crazy over you. Holy smokes, I am a guy and am contemplating buying this for my future wife it's that good. I showed this to girls and they didn't get the hype but when I showed this to other dudes they were all like "DAMN THAT'S SEXY". Just a beautiful, cozy, seductive, scent that whisps in the air with a sparkly finish. Love it

Nicole love

I don’t get the hype with this at all. It just smells sharp and synthetic to my nose.

SaucyAudy

Another beautiful olfactive picture from Kurkdjian of an afternoon baking a vanilla cake with your granny. The vanilla is really a superstar here, but after a few hours, the base note gives something less sweet but elegant with the wood base. I used to find it too gourmand and overwhelming but after wearing it more often I’m definitely in love with it.

spideyjjk

this perfume is so so beautiful, i smelt it for the first time when i received a sample and fell in love, it's so subtle, sweet, warming and a unique scent. however, i bought the bottle after the formula change (the bottle becomes purple :( old formula doesn't do that). this hits different especially during the winter!!! i try during hotter weather, personally did not work on me! however, the perfume does not project as much as I want to, when i ask people if they can smell, they only do if they are close to me but otherwise, you sort of just smell it on your own. it does last pretty much all day, but i do have to refresh after a couple hours.

SSolstice

A grown-up, woody vanilla that leans boozy rather than sweet. It’s beautiful but with poor sillage, and that doesn’t justify the price tag for me. Still a joy to sniff though - I’ll happily use up my sample this winter.

LOST_HORIZON

Gentle Fluidity Gold is a very silky, calm, innocent, harmless vanilla with musk... But with such delicacy it reaches your soul, and softly, without pressure. I love using it on cool days, the juniper berries give it that light modern and refined urban presence, it is not traditional vanilla or dense vanillin, it is simply perfect. A work of art by MFK.
I feel like the world stops when I use it, it lets me rest in its tender arms and then nothing is the same

Rober7a

My god, what a beauty. This is probably the most feminine fragrance I've ever smelled. It's like a pink cashmere sweater in a scent. It's warm, soft, sweet and rosy, even though rose isn't listed in the notes, it certainly resembles it. MFK website claims juniper note is used to amplify rose scents, so now I want to sample more juniper dominant fragrances. It's like floral flavored hard candy. It isn't girly or juvenile at all, but I feel like this embodies the softest aspects of femininity. She is submissive, sweet, kind, gentle, her heart is pure and loving, she will make you feel better when you need it, her touch is comforting and makes you at peace. Don't think that it's motherly though, because the longer it stays on skin the more seductive it gets as vanilla becomes more dominant. But it's still seducing you in a romantic, gentle kind of way. Once you fall for this woman, she will stay in your heart forever, because she will never wrong you. You will remember and think of her in your darkest days, and she'll give you warmth in those moments, reminding you a choice made with love and kindness is always the right one.

kgc

such a yummy gourmand. I wish we could go back in time to the 2000s when every girl smelled like this instead of brine-y baccarat rouge and its ambroxan-heavy counterparts.

sabertooth_salem

A really lovely and cozy scent that is easy to wear. You really can't argue with the top notes of amber, vanilla, and musk. There is also that underlying Gentle Fluidity crispness from the juniper berries.

I can see the comparisons to Intense Cafe, but this is far less cloying. To me, it almost smells like someone mixed Delina and Meliora from PDM.

CuriousPerfumeGirl

Got this as a sample with my purchase. It immediately reminded me of Roses Vanille. Def not my kind of perfume, I find the Vanilla so cloying I am not sure how I will even survive the day in the office. I would def not get the full bottle of this, just opt for the Mancera and save your coins!

smithaker

I'm still debating how I feel about this one. It is very wearable, primarily vanilla and fairly close to the skin. The other notes came through later, by which time you'd need to be very close to the wearer to smell it. So am I going to spend this kind of money for something that is mostly for my own enjoyment and fairly unremarkable to others? Not sure yet.

gelkita

For info Vanilla needs to macerate a bit, for people thinking they have a reformulated version, if you bought it from a legit seller, rest assured, your batch is just too fresh !
Spray it a bit (not to much) to let some air in and let the magic aging happen 😉

The bottle I finished was pale gold, the new bottle I received was clear and became pale gold with time, and the vanilla matured, more round and gourmandish than cold vanilla when new 😉

Lykopa

A soft, clean vanilla, with warm edges and a bit of spice. Isn’t very deep, but it reminds me of someone who naturally smells like vanilla. This is the best second skin scent.

Aurora25

This is my favourite perfume. It’s vanilla but clean and crisp. It’s warm and luxurious but has a freshness to it and a metallic edge that means you can wear it during the summer months as well as in the colder months. And somehow it’s really suitable for all occasions, work, dates, just being at home. It’s never too much but enough. Funnily my work colleague was wearing it and I thought she was wearing Delina although I don’t pick that up when I wear it. On her it was sweet and light and almost rosey. I guess some of that just come off when I wear it too. I love the metallic edge to it, makes it not boring or too cloying. On me it does last a decent amount of time and does have decent projection.

DEXTER99

The only opening is very very nice then quickly turning to scent very close to the skin and smells like a body lotion type of thing.
the silver one is way way much better for me, terms to the scent and the longevity and the performance. My advice is testing both of them before u buy and chose the one u better like 👍🏻

CosmicHorror

Soft Warm and Comfortingly Sweet. Like baking on a cold day. Definitely a winter scent.
Vanilla and Nutmeg are comforting and the added woodsy and amber scents add to the feel of warmth on a cold day. A solid hit from MFK

aspirina

Soft, ethereal amber vanilla that reminds me a lot of Intense Cafe by montale. So soft, so pretty and well done. But oh so grossy overpriced. I guess I can get the same effect by underspraying IC. The issue I have with IC is the woody note that is too strong. Anyway, this is gorgeous.

Tincel

A non-punchy version of a punchy perfume (Intense Café) - kind of missing the point. It's sweet, but what is that sweetness about? It's not sexy and not elegant, and definitely not gentle, so what is it? Kind of pretty? Maybe I'm just biased, but Montale wins for the oomph, the price, and the overall smell.

natihalm

So I have owned this perfume for almost a year now and it has been my go to scent for the days I have to work from the office. To my nose, it smells like a very subtle vanilla rosewater scent with a powdery violet facet (Although no violets are mentioned in the notes). Sometimes I smell more of the vanilla rosewater and sometimes it smells like straight up baby wipes to me which is very strange. The longevity and projection are low to moderate which makes it good for the office but bad for the price!

I can definitely see the comparisons to Intense Cafe/ Roses Vanille but this is lacking the screechy Montale/Mancera notes and definitely smells more subdued and vanilla-y.

Overall I consider this a very classy perfume that is worth sampling and although the performance isn't great this will be forever in my collection :)

hollandbri

I am not a gourmand lover so I have been on the hunt for a vanilla scent. I finally found the one! I sampled this on my skin and wow does it remind me of Atomic Rose dry down. Gorgeous and definitely my next buy.

bergamotblonde

For adorning your pet tiger with strings of pearls and listening to someone play violin while wearing. Sweet, gentle, creamy; it's a dessert of vanilla ice cream and brandy in a bistro. The woodiness and juniper balance the vanilla and amber enough to make it comfortable enough to linger in sleepily. It's easy to adore.

ver5

I got the 2ml vial and fell in love with the smell. The opening is super sweet for me (not a big fan of sweet) but surprisingly I like it, it's not a food-sweet kind of smell, but more like an elegant sweet. The dry down is a bit similar to the opening of the silver version. Sadly the longevity is really bad, only lasted around 3 hours on my skin, so it's really really bad, especially compared to the silver one. But I still would love to buy the full bottle to have a vanilla perfume in my collection. Will probably give an updated review once I got the fb!

torturedsoulboy

Just bought a new bottle, and lo and behold -- it's been reformulated. It's called Gentle Fluidity Gold, not Gentle Fluidity PURPLE. Why mess with a good thing, Francis, WHY?

Reformulation aside, to me this still remains the best vanilla fragrance along with Black Tie by Celine. Forever in my top 10.

AdalynEverly

First Impressions (sample spray):
It smells like something similar, but I’m sure. Oh it smells like intense cafe by montale definitely. Just without the rose or coffee??not impressed considering the price point. It also has a playdoughyness that reminds me of poison by Dior, but it’s not that.
Edit:
Smelled it again, yep just a more elevated montale intense cafe. If you like that one, and have money to burn get this.

Summary:
Smells like: A nice vanilla, with a hint of smokiness or rose?
Family of: intense cafe (water down version -rose or -coffee note)
Silage: strong

Verdict:
Pass- not into the price point or how it smells like a perfume that’s like what? Half the price of this just without the coffee note.

LunaFortuna

I love this scent so much, but the longevity and projection are terrible. For context, even Zara's Rose Gourmand lasts longer than this, and is in a similar scent profile. And Zara isn't exactly known for having good longevity. As many have said, Intense Cafe by Montale and Mancera Roses Vanille are very similar (though not exact) and have much better performance and price. I have found a 1:1 dupe, which is Velvet Gold by Orientica, except it outlasts this one. Don't get me wrong, this scent is incredible. However, I am not the only one complaining about longevity and projection. I'd sample this first. If you like it, but are finding that its performance is abysmal, then grab Velvet Gold by Orientica for an exact dupe. If you want something that's similar, but not exact, grab Roses Vanille or Intense Cafe. Zara's Rose Gourmand would even suffice if you're on a budget.

seliko

Why do all these houses have the same fragrance under different names? I’m starting to think you should just pick one based on which house matches your skin’s chemistry best. If you dig deeper you can smell some powderiness in Gentle Fluidity Gold (subtly woody borderline animalic drydown) but it’s not enough to essentially save it from being the same scent as Montale’s Intense Café, Mancera’s Roses Vanille, PdM Delina Exclusif, Mancera’s Roses Musk if you like this scent profile but it’s too intense for you, and Zara’s Rose Gourmand if you’re on a budget.

fourleafedrover8

Not for me. It smells like Vicks vapor rub on the dry down!!!

Jenbug23

I tried very hard to work with this. It’s animalic on me. Not too much but I can’t help but single out that note. It would have been perfect if they toned the musk down a bit. Decluttered

kokoma1009

Such a classy warm and sweet scent. It's really gentle, soft and crowd pleasing. It will make a good signature scent. However, I'm a bit disappointed as this does not last on me at all. Maybe I got a bad batch but the longevity is so weak.

Adjr1087

Vanilla, roses and...paper? Like the pages of a magazine. And I don't mean it in a bad way. I actually love it! This smells BEAUTIFUL. I really like this fragrance!

Hifza

Very soft, clean and neat vanilla! I adore this fragrance and its perfect for every weather and occasion. A very elegant powdery musk combination which matures the vanilla notes of this fragrance.

smellgoodsisi

I love this perfume. This is a perfect all year round vanilla imo. Its a light, airy, and clean vanilla. But also has a slight spice to it. Its not cloyingly sweet. Signature scent worthy

Melody Valentine

Fragrance World Gentle Gold is a fantastic clone of this. It's less than £15 for 100ml on ebay. I'm over the moon coz i can spray it to my hearts content. It's getting stronger every day too. At first it seemed very light but, as with the real one, the vanilla has got deeper and much stronger.

JusttheFactsMan

#174 in my "Tour de Fragrance".
Maison Francis Kurkdjian's "Gentle Fluidity Gold"

"Hurt me baby, make me write bad checks!"

1. Fill an atomizer 2/3 full of MFK's stellar vanilla bomb "Grand Soir".
2. Top it off with MFK's amazingly aromatic "Gentle Fluidity Silver."
3. Call it "Gentle Fluidity Gold"
4. Competitive fragrance houses despair!

OK, maybe that's a little over the top. There are many competitors with similar offerings, but I would say MFK has perfectly balanced the components for superior wearability and performance. This stuff is delicious and sexy! Hell, I want to kiss me all over!

If I were about to meet Dua Lipa, this is what I would be wearing. But it's a dangle and date scent. Not appropriate office wear. You might try to de-gourmand this and brighten it up a bit with a bergamot-lemon scent for casual daytime use.

If you like sweet vanilla scents, I would even say unless you can't tolerate a sweet vanilla scent, this is a safe blind buy. Expensive, but worth it to me!

I have spoken.

Update: I layered this with Body Shop "Kistna", the most relentless citrus scent I have, but never use. Gentle Fluidity Gold + Citrus = 90% match for Gentle Fluidity Silver. Well, duh!

Lindasara

I normally hate vanilla perfumes but this one is really well made. Even though I wouldn't really wear it on its own it's great for layering. What I really like about this perfume is that it isn't overly sickening sweet like most vanilla perfumes are. I would say you really need to try this perfume. It is feminine leaning so that might be good to know.

VeuveLove

This is stunning! As someone said before this is a mature Vanilla fragrance. I love it. I almost bought it but found it just doesn't last on my skin, after a few hours it was very generic vanilla smelling. For £170 I want more.
I have Zara Rose Gourmand, the only similarity I get is in the dry down...very generic vanilla smelling.

dreamingonthemoon

Finally a mature vanilla fragrance! it's simple, reliable, and soft, most importantly its non-offensive and perfectly subtle. I love!!

Sugarluvbug

Absolutely love it!

baekhyun

i get the critiques of this being too simple, but i think its simplicity is its strength. it's a perfect representation of its notes and has an amazing performance to emphasize them. it is sophisticated, gorgeous, and classy - i can see this as something i'd want to wear on my wedding day. ironically, i only discovered this perfume because i was on a date with a guy (who was absolutely INSUFFERABLE) that was wearing it. i could have very easily had a bad memory attached to this as a result, but my fondness for the scent was stronger than my disdain for him <3 it's signature scent worthy as you could really wear this in any scenario, including trying to annoy me to death. so i just asked him what he was wearing and made it my scent instead 🥰 i honestly should have just gone home with him and stolen it instead when i googled it and saw the price point tho LMAOOOO hindsight is 20/20 etc.

cherryontop

My lovely boyfriend took me perfume shopping yesterday in Selfridges and I was originally going to pick Delina Rosée, but I am a gourmand girl through and through so I couldn’t resist this. Beautiful, smooth and elegant icing-sugar vanilla with a hint of intoxicating spice. I’m absolutely over the moon obsessed with this. It reminds me of Roses Vanille but it’s much smoother and more of a sexy, come-hither skin scent. So beautiful and I can’t wait to wear it ❤️

Vicschmidtscents

High quality, classic. It gives quiet-luxury. The trail this perfume leaves behind you is powdery, sweet, warm, and rich. I get asked what I'm wearing all the time. It gets a spot in my top 10 because Gentle Fluidity Gold is just done so well and everyone loves it. A classic vanilla refined with juniper. Signature scent worthy and appropriate in nearly every setting.

Marisu

Absolutely stunning. It smells like glittery prosecco drank in the diner while something sweet like vanilla cheesecake is being baked in the oven. On the table there is a bouquet of fragrant red wild roses in a vase.

genny17

Well I feel exactly like Roanoke, there are whiffs of soft vanilla, but to my nose there is a spicy top notes that linger throughout, with a masculine undertone, I expected it with a name like gendre fluidity…the fragrance is confusing, like the name, I don’t like the overall tone, glad I got a sample. I feel that house is overrated, this one is a bit messy, a bit of softeness contradicted by the spiciness..
Not for me.

JamesGamez

It’s a soft musky/powdery vanilla. Very simple but smells great! It’s soft but lasts very long. This is signature scent worthy. It’s an easy dumb reach and is perfect for just about any occasion.
Projection is not the best.
Longevity is good, I can smell it a day later on my clothes.

roanyoke

I find the juniper and coriander overpowering. It's spicy to the point of booziness. I think it's a mistake to label this as a vanilla amber. When I heard this, I got the impression of an airy gourmand that would envelop me in sweetness. The reality is a headiness and sharpness I wasn't expecting. Good, interesting, but I don't want to smell it all day.

tropic-angel

Basically just smells like vanilla, sophisticated and soft for sure but just... vanilla *shrugs*. I can see this being someone's signature scent but for me personally there's just not enough to it, it's almost, dare I say...boring? I own VS body sprays that smell more interesting than this.

astralmonad870

I was in a phase where I was looking for good vanilla amber fragrances. Sorry to say that the combination of powdery notes with vanilla ended up making me feel sick and I sold my bottle… it was snatched up on Vinted 2 seconds after the listing went live! For a much purer amber vanilla go for Grand Soir by the same house.

Erincess

Good good good but not the best vanilla.

SabrinaT

Unfortunately, I can't smell much of this fragrance because I have anosmia to musk. It goes further than that; I think when musk is prominent in the composition, it blocks the other smells, and then I can't smell anything at all. As far as I read the synthetic musk molecules are too big for our nose receptors. I can get faint whiffs of the other elements in the composition, and the smell is gorgeous. I wish I could fully smell it. Some of the other reviewers saying it doesn't smell like anything, maybe have my issue. Musk anosmia is very common - in up to 40% of people.

Ibolyaaa

very nice vanilla scent, that has a sophisticated touch to it. It’s gentle but gets me a lot of compliments, a good staple for vanilla lover, even tho it’s pricey.

Angelique Noelle

I’m super jealous of the purple hue bottle in the pics above. Mine never turned a beautiful purple and I purchased her from Bloomingdales. She smelled of whipped vanilla and sparkling gold juicy jello. I loved her but she never got that purple hue so I sold her and now I miss her😞 I must get her back whether she turns purple or just stay gold.
Stay gold, Ponyboy, stay gold😞

SalinasL

First impression is that this is aptly named. It’s gentle. The musk comes through right away with hints of nutmeg and woods (slightly chocolatey), and wine-like fruitiness from berries. Luckily the juniper berries aren’t as prominent as in something like L’Artisan’s Haute Voltige where they read as straight up cat urine to me. But I think they’re responsible for the wine-like aspect, along with the type of amber used maybe, and this is an aspect I try to avoid in perfumes. I would have guessed that there was patchouli in this as well. Mugler’s Angel keeps popping into my head. Wafts are nice now and then but smells a bit like chemical-ey vape liquid up close, and I’m now reminded of Joop! Le Bain. This is not a love for me but is worth trying if you like Angel and/or Le Bain.

P_a_p_e_rcuts

I adore this so much. I had bought a perfume oil impression version of GFG, and my husband complimented me on it the very first time I wore it (and I loved it too). I decided to take the plunge and buy a bottle, and I’m so glad I did. I have a 200ml, and I’m so thankful because it’s truly become an everyday comforting scent that just feels like me. It does sit quite close to the skin, however if I layer it with the oil impression version on top of freshly moisturised skin, it projects pretty well around me. To my nose this is warm vanilla, amber and coriander. I don’t get much else, but I love the cozy clean smell. I get about 5hrs of good longevity, but then it becomes very close to the skin and I can smell it. It lasts a few days on clothes and really brings out the nutmeg. My juice is quite bright purple and it’s from last years batch. I can’t wait to see how this performs in the summer, but in the winter where I live it’s just scrumptious!

ken.z008

I love🩷🩷🩷 the smell of this! Its comforting, fresh, and balanced vanilla-amber scent. Wearing this feels like a blanket of sweet memories and a lot of money. Just imagine opening a leather bag full of newly printed $100 dollar bills while on a vacation in Monaco.

MrSwags

admittedly I’m exceptionally picky when it comes to my SO’s frags, but we got a sample pack the other day and when we arrived to this one, we were both like “yup, this is it” so now she uses this.

it’s inoffensive, powdery, not at all overpowering like that god-awful BR540 I keep smelling everywhere, it’s just a gentle, classical, feminine powdery scent with no standout notes. anyone could easily wear this even to the office, it’s so inoffensive it’s impossible to hate. it may be bland or boring for some, but the fact that it so nicely fades into the background and doesn’t loudly call attention to itself is what makes it exceptionally pleasant. 10/10 from me.

Melody Valentine

I'm editing my review and I've deleted my first one coz I've done a total 180 on this perfume since I first tried it. I absolutely LOVE it now. I crave it. It's become one of my top 5, maybe even top 3, favourite scents.
Anyway, it does smell like an expensive face cream, slightly powdery with a gorgeous vanilla background. The nutmeg and vanilla remind me of this expensive rice pudding I used to buy years ago that was super rich and creamy with grated nutmeg on top. I don't actually know what juniper berries smell like but I'm assuming it's that note that gives it this little sparkle. When you smell it directly from the atomiser it smells like gin. This is a classy, gentle, comforting, feminine perfume. Doesn't have the medicinal smell that a lot of the MFKs seem to have and *definitely doesn't have the power of some of his other creations but it's just as beautiful.

*It actually does have the power of the other MFK fragrances, it just takes a little while for the vanilla to age after you spray it the first time. Now it's really strong, projects really well and lasts. I find the vanilla to be the star of the show now and hardly notice the juniper I wasn't so keen on. It's just so beautiful, I had kinda gone off gourmands lately but the way this is done is perfect. I recently got Maison Alhambra's Infini Rose, which is a clone of Initio Atomic Rose, and the base of it smells so much like this. It's like Gentle Fluidity Gold mixed with the rose from Delina or Oud Satin Mood, with a hefty dose of pink pepper for the first few minutes. They both have gotten me compliments and I can smell myself all day wearing them. Amber and vanilla together, when they're done right, just really does it for me. It's not sweet in a childish, cheap smelling way, but it's still super sweet.

Also, side note and just a random bit of info I found hilarious. Eden perfumes have just brought out a clone of this and when I saw their Facebook post about it I thought it sounded very familiar. They've only paraphrased my review, complete with the part about the rice pudding, expensive face cream, juniper berries giving it a little sparkle and smelling it from the atomiser it smells like gin. They literally only changed a word or two. I just found it funny. I screenshotted my review and put it in the comments. I thought I might have got a free perfume but I didn't, they just heart reacted it and didn't reply😂

Elequin15!

this is my signature scent! the vanilla isnt so juvenile and the coriander just adds a bit of ooph to the scent!

scent.2go

This os nice, pleasant fragrance. It remind me pf roses vanille but with no rose. Junoper berries are here instead of rose. Opening is brighter first lets say 20min, but after that its changing to sweet scent and then reminds me of mancera. But it is a nice one but pricey

trixiesalamander

I am so confused, I got a sample of this from the MFK website, so it’s legit, but it just smells like metal and juniper berries on me? it’s an immediate scrubber kinda bad. Did it somehow go bad during shipping??

cellarspider

Powdery, cosy and safe. Musky and feminine. For some reason it brought me back to when I was a kid, riffling through my mum's makeup drawer - something about it reminds me of that gentle scent of lipsticks and foundation.

lilypadflowers

I don't want to love this perfume as much as I do. It's a vanilla. There are so many vanillas on the market and for so much less money.

But this is stunning. A fresh, clean, airy vanilla with a grounding base of resin. Lightly woody, and a little tart from the juniper berries. I polished off my sample bottle and immediately went back for a full size. Planning to use this as my wedding scent. Truly so beautiful.
