Flower Market by Maison Martin Margiela is a Floral fragrance for women. Flower Market was launched in 2012. Flower Market was created by Jacques Cavallier and Marie Salamagne. Top notes are Freesia and Green Leaves; middle notes are Tuberose, Jasmine Sambac, Egyptian Jasmine and Rose de Mai; base notes are Peach, Oakmoss and Cedar.

The house of Martin Margiela is launching a brand new collection of fragrances called Replica, as an addition to the Replica fashion line. The collection of fragrances consists of three perfumes for women named Flower Market, Beach Walk and Funfair Evening. Each of them triggers a characteristic memory and is accompanied with a cotton label describing its provenance.

Perfumers who were invited to participate in creation of the new collection are Jacques Cavallier and Marie Salamagne.

The first fragrance of the collection, Flower Market is built around floral notes of freesia, Grasse rose petals, Sambac jasmine and tuberose.

The fragrances are poured into classical, simple bottles similar to those in apothecaries, while their outer carton is illustrated with a photograph reflecting the topic of each of the fragrances.

All three perfumes are available from the end of June 2012, as 100 ml eau de toilette.

A well-balanced floral bomb. The Tuberose with all the other White florals makes this one strictly a White Floral scent. Not my thing, but it's nice. It's not headache inducing like most of the White Floral scents.

jjx

As the name suggests, this scent is a very balanced combination of flowers. No flower stands out strong (sometimes the rose stands out, sometimes not). This was my signature scent for many years during my time in university. I’ve only got a bit left in the full sized bottle. It is still my ‘safe’ scent for when I cant decide what to spray. Scent can last you all day, and is great for all 4 seasons. The rose and the cedar made it wearable during autumn and winter. The white flowers made it wearable during spring and summer. If you wear something sexy, the jasmine will compliment it. If you wear a cashmere sweater, the base notes will make it feel cozier. Very versatile!

Charades

Smells exactly how it’s named; flower market. Reminds me of the times I would go to Trader Joe’s and pick out flower bouquets for Valentine’s Day :)
Fragrance is soft and light, giving off the same vibe as Lazy Sunday Morning.

lavieenrose1987

Fresh dewy floral goodness. Just wish it lasted more than an hour. If it did, this would be a staple in my collection. As it is, I won’t be repurchasing once it’s gone.

archerries

Simple, fresh and floral - a bouquet in a bottle.

rockstartori87

This is one of the few floral fragrances I actually like. It is very beautiful, fresh, bright, and feminine. It smells purely like flowers. I really love layering it with TF Electric Cherry. Something about the two pairs well together, in my opinion, creating a sweet, slightly fruity, fun, floral scent.

yantiadi

For me this is an airy fresh floral perfume that delivers its claim; the scent of a flower market in the morning when flowers are freshly cut and blooming. It's well blended and inoffensive for office environment. It's kind of pretty and sweet yet mature.

meganlamode

Beautiful bouquet of freshly-cut flowers. It's funny, fragrances from the Replica line often don't impress me, but I am liking this one. It really encompasses the memory it aims to achieve. I like this much better than the newer fragrance from Ellis Brooklyn called Florist - Flower Market is much more realistic in its execution. It reminds me of Spring and really just makes me happy!

It’s flowers in a bottle. A little powdery, which I do not mind one bit. I wear this everyday pretty much, but it’s such a shame it doesn’t last very long on me. It doesn’t smell synthetic at all, at least not to me. Instantly a clean scent, like a few of Replica’s line. Smells like dewy flowers, not sweet as such but not like a bitter. Minimal warmth. I’d imagine it smells lovely during the summer, when it’s more of a refreshing fragrance. The rose isn’t powerful one bit, and I do smell the Freesia. I absolutely love the replica bottles however, I find them very pleasing on the eye. It’s good, but I would recommend finding a sample / 30mls first, because it is a very pricey perfume to dive into right away if you don’t like it. Much like all the other replicas, expensive, but they are pleasant. Nothing all too memorable though, sadly.

OzzyEyes

Loved this on the card, I've been looking for a florist fragrance for years and thought I'd found it! Got a decant to take home and it's horrible on the skin, no depth and just blah, so disappointed. Great bottle though!

RottigrlNYC

Such a beautiful floral. I have an extra back up for sale. Message me. I tend to buy too many perfumes and backups. I can’t possibly use up all this perfume. So I’m decluttering . I have many more Niche and designer perfumes for sale. Once they’re gone, that’s it. I will sell to the first person who wants it.

Jacquis

Flower Market is a beautiful white floral for the everyday person. Just verging on stark, clean, white floral. Very clean. Almost linen or warm cotton type scent. Not sweet but has a bit of warmth. Feels like a perfume in the Lanvin family. The freesia is dominant but the stark jasmine follows close behind. Not indolic. Just clean. Average lasting and easy to wear with a definite character.

marialena888m

Lots of dewy fresh flowers, makes me feel like I’m in a garden surrounded by blooming flowers after a light spring rain. Nothing ground breaking, but an absolute pleasure to wear on warm days, it’s cooling and refreshing. Very feminine. Crowd pleasing. I love it, and I crave it on hot, humid days and evenings. You’ll smell like a breath of fresh spring-flower-garden air. Performance is pretty good for a freshie, it’s noticeable in a most pleasant way. I imagine it can smell synthetic in cool weather but in warm/hot weather it’s just perfect.

hvnent

smells the way oversteeped green tea with jasmine tastes. Adore

Not much to say more than what has been said below. Flower Market is a bouquet of white florals in a bottle. It's nice and beautiful, like fresh flowers, but not unique. (Tried from a 1ml decant.)

I don't mind that it's not unique. I think this scent suits my preference. It's not cloying and it's pretty light. Not sure if I want a bottle but I wouldn't mind if I actually bought one. My only complaint is that it may be too generic and there are others out there at better prices.

Looking up on 'this perfume smells like' category, I notice someone put Yves Rocher's Comme une Evidence there. I can see the similarities.

Out of the four decants I bought recently by this brand (Whispers in the Library, Sailing Day, Springtime in a Park, and Flower Market), I like Flower Market the most and dislike all the rest.

RottigrlNYC

It’s pretty but very weak and it doesn’t last but a half hr. This is typical of all the Replica scents . They’re edt crap. I wish I never bought the full bottle. I sprayed it about 8 times on my arm and as I wrote this review, it’s already a barely there skin scent. If this scent was stronger, I would love it. But as it is, it’s not worth the money . There are much better similar scents that last a lot longer.

Peaches&Cream

I tested this fragrance and it lasts more than 4 hours on clothes and skin. It then fades into a skin scent throughout the remaining of the day. I actually enjoy wearing this perfume, the notes mesh well together leaving a soapy flowery scent which makes me feel clean and floral. I decided to pair this to add more of the tuberose to softly sweeten it.

What I think could make this composition better is… a note of wet concrete. It would really take the feel of a flower market all the way and might even make this fragrance unisex

ntabassum92

I was lucky to find a travel spray of this at a discount store, and I've been enjoying wearing it this spring. I don't smell true narcotic tuberose in here, it's instead a blend of white florals like jasmine, freesia, and maybe a fruity shampooey tuberose. I almost get linden blossom in here, too. The flowers are not distinct, they're kind of fuzzy and polleny. It reminds me most of La Chasse Aux Papillons by L'Artisan Parfumeur. It's that kind of lemony clean spring floral scent. It's not something I would buy a full bottle of, but I have enjoyed wearing it.

Miasha

This is one of my worst blind buys, unfortunately... 🤥
I bought it because I saw it is now discontinued, and I had a memory of when I had tried it on a paper strip some years ago, when they had the Replica fragrances at our local perfume shop. And I LOVE the other fragrances from Replica I have tried!! (Lipstick On, of course, and Jazz Club, and Whispers in the Library, and Under the Lemon tree, which I think is more masculine, so I gave it to my son.)

But this one is so unbareably strong!! Headache inducing. It does not even help to use only 1 spray from a distance. Yes, it is a "nice" fragrance - like something I would have liked when I was 15. And I might appreciate it on someone else - from a distance, then.
I love the fragrant air in a flower shop - but this is not it, I am sorry. It is not like green stems and earth/dirt/soil - this is just sharp and cloyingly sweet.
I regret that I did not buy a backup of Whispers in the Library, instead. Or at least a bottle of the new one: On A Date. I have a sample of that one, and I like it.

wenf

Not a very interesting, complex or necessarily expensive smelling perfume, but a NICE one. It has a cut grass smell that's missing in a lot of floral perfumes which makes it a bit unique and very realistic.

The heavy jasmine sambac reminds me a lot of being a child in the Philippines, going to church with my friend's grandma, buying garlands from the sampaguita vendor for the car. It's a strange memory mix of childhood and old people smells.

I can see this pulling "air freshener"

ANNA_KISELEVA

I don't count too much on memory... nevertheless, THIS FRAGRANCE reminded me of "BYT MOZE" they were sold here in Leningrad, in the 80s on Nevsky Prospekt, in the store "WANDA" brand PANI WALEWSKA🤔

I realized that from my collection it is closest to "Carat" Cartier

HannahRosesAreRed

Maison Margiela's Replica line is all about capturing specific moments, places and memories as accurately as possible. This results in fragrances that can be captivating, or off-putting, because they strive for realism along with romanticism. This is the case with Flower Market. On paper, with those notes and the description–a flower market in Paris France in the early 2010s–one would imagine that this fragrance is a light, easy and super sweet spring floral. And it is–with a twist. Flower Market is equal parts rose, white floral and green notes. The green notes read as slightly earthy, even a little dirt-like. Not in a bad or unclean way, just in a natural way–exactly as you would smell in a real life flower shop.

Replicas differ in sillage and lasting power. This is an intimate scent, so-so to short longevity. Performance wise, it's pretty mild, nothing crazy. It has a nice, green and powdery finish, with the freesia note lingering the longest despite being a top note. The rose and jasmine heart notes are present but understated, they're mostly backup players to the sweet and slightly soapy tuberose. I don't read any fruit or peach, but I can detect the mossy finish–again, that complements the green "market" notes of Flower Market.

It's a pleasant and likable scent. While not as memorable or long-lasting as, say "When the Rain Stops" (my favorite of this line) or "By the Fireplace," is a sweet but not cloying spring floral that's hard to dislike.

margaritatee

It does what it says: clouds of tuberose and jasmine will enfold you. People will not say, 'Wow. that's an interesting fragrance!', they will say, 'You smell GOOD, let's get an icecream.' slight bubblegum note, slight minty shaving-cream feeling, but overall a bright, light, feel-good fragrance. nice for summer.

Mizmalibu

This is a beautiful floral, shining in spring and summer. The opening is a bit screechy, but after 10 minutes it softens down and from then it’s all jasmine, tuberose, peppery freesia and rose, blended perfectly. I really love this and I’m sorry I ignored it before.

iamamlucas

Smells to me like rancid fallen flowers on the sidewalk after the rain pours down the street. The dry down is nice I guess, more soft and subtle than the opening.

Not bad at all, it's a very realistic scent and true to it's name.

ChanelNotes

Sharp and mediocre.

This is the love of my life! It is the best floral perfume i ever had. I love it so much that i bought 2 big bottles within 2 days. Because i worry it may discontinued. Maybe i should get anothet 2 bottles as spares. Just in case.
Anyway, When u smell it, it is like u are really in flower market-- smells of fresh flowers, cut stems, green leaves! No floral perfume has ever been so perfectly done. It smells REAL, not synthetic like any other floral perfume. It is suitable for spring, summer and probably autumn. Day time for sure. This perfume makes u smell fresh with positive energy, like u bring sunny weather everywhere u go. If a guy wear this, i would definitely get attracted to him. This is like a fresh + happy go lucky smell of floral perfume. Dont hesitate, just get it!

another_52hz_whale

During the first 15 minutes, I was not impressed at all. Then lovely Jasmine scent kicked in... I immediately order 2 big bottles. This fragrance reminds me of my childhood trips to Buddhist temples with my mother near Lunar New Year in Vietnam in the early 90s. We were always given jasmine leis when we left and I kept them until they turned brown and dried up. My little heart broke a bit when I had to throw them away. <3 It is an absolute love from me. Memory I hold dear to my heart forever!

jashleysoto_11

This is a truly stellar, classically feminine, and dignified perfume. I think some of the negative reviews are from people who need every perfume to be pretentiously complex and niche. It smells exactly like what the title says: a flower market. If you don't like florals or the smells of authentic flowers filling a room, or are somehow triggered or bored by it, then why are you even wearing this perfume? This is a perfume for those that want to smell like an exquisite garden of sumptuous flowers and enjoy smelling pretty instead of unusual. There's nothing lovelier than pretty scents.

Olfactory Nerd Girl

I purchased this before I dived DEEP into frags…
I loved it with all my heart and was my signature scent for 12 months.

Flower Market NEEDS something to ground it… it’s a mess of sweet, floral and musk that now reminds me of every ‘female only’ fragrance sold at Chemist Warehouse.

It’s sticky, sickly sweet and smells like a teenager crossed with an elderly 80+ year old grandma.

Springtime in the Park is so much better than this if you’re into floral frags… like SO much better.
Or better yet, Flowerhead or Inflorescence by Byredo.

It’s crazy how I once thought this frag was the best I’ve ever smelt, and now, I can’t stand it.

Also, if you’re in Australia, I have 80% left of 100ml that I’m selling if interested. If I can’t sell it, I’m going to pass it onto my 10 year old daughter, but even she thinks it’s too sweet :)

Pearlstar

I love this because it really reminds me of walking through a flower market, wet leaves, cut stems and all. Love wearing this on hot days or after a shower. The smell is fresh floral, freesia and rose are most prominent to me. It has a real easy going feel to it, perfect for weekends or lounging at home, and is not one I would wear to a serious work meeting or evenings out. However doesn't last on me for long at all which is the only down side of this perfume for me.

starsinhereyes

My new signature scent for sure! I blind bought a full size off ebay hoping that I would like it and I was not dissapointed! Floral, yes, but a soft, green, fresh floral rather than a powdery, musky floral.

Chocoleigh

I love how this is the perfect balance of fresh, sweet & floral and for an edt, this lasted on me more than I expected. I smell so pretty 10/10 🥰

GrenadeGirl

This one is so, so pretty! I adore the freesia, fresh air blast of an opening, the peach comes through right up front for me too, and stays there. Over time, the dry down softens out to a more general floral, but it is still beautifully light and girly - perfect for sunny weather!!

I know many people have specific floral likes and dislikes, so it is definitely worth testing first, but if it sits well on your skin you will like love it!!!

prayingmantis

My first impression a few months ago was of sticking my nose into a big white bouquet while sipping a peach iced tea. After a while the peachy scent really took over. I decided to try it again today and this time I didn’t notice that much peach at all, but it reminded me of a perfume that my grandmother used to wear- my mom said it was like Joy, which was one of her favorites for many years. I also went through a big freesia phase when I was about twelve and first visited Bath and Body Works. All to say, this is not the most unique perfume but it is done well. It’s polished and ladylike, and the floral scent is pretty strong. Buuut you could probably find something similar that costs less.

h149

Oh......from the positive reviews I thought this might smell the way I had wanted Dior's Blooming Bouquet to smell - that is, like the entire bouquet, flowers and stems and leaves and water and air... But, aldehydes.

I don't know if it's my nose or my skin or both, but aldehydic fragrances always seem to smell like shampoo and like hair being styled, permed, or otherwise suffering heat damage. Clean, fresh, but also somehow slightly "singed." Not Flower Market but rather Hair Salon.

Sunmoon

This perfume on me does not smell synthetic at all. It smells like fresh flowers. To be specific, it smells like walking through an easter flower market. One of my favorite "non perfumey" perfumes.

minachanpark

Listen, before I bought it I read the reviews here, although I see a lot of people criticizing this perfume because the scent is not so special so I was also very hesitant before buying. To be honest, I bought it because there is a tester version on Joma for a pretty cheap price, and what I was looking for was a bottle of jasmine and tuberose that was not too strong and affordable. Replica Flower Market has done just that. It's fair to say its scent is not as bad as many commenters here. Is a scent of jasmine and tuberose that is quite fresh and sweet enough, not too strong, it is just enough to keep you at work 8 hours a day and still smell fresh. And enough for a colleague sitting next to me to say: "You smell so good!". I'm glad I bought it, it's true that this scent is familiar and you may have smelled it somewhere with other brands but I still rate it well and recommend it to those who are not too picky with perfume. I will be buying more Replica scents

melngx

a kinda basic white floral fragrance but i love it nonetheless, smells like a bouquet of flowers on a sunny spring day, isnt overwhelming or headache-enducing. Hated this at first but it grew on me, and has now become one of my all time favourite scents for hot days !

NuttyNut

I really like this perfume despite the high price and low longevity and sillage

Air of Grace

Tried this at Mecca counter and out of all the Maison Margeila fragrances , I liked this the best . My initiation into the perfume house .

I’m in love with green ,white florals and on initial spray ,it captivated me with the green freesias and Jasmine. So beautiful that I wished the opening notes lasted longer .

I noticed this was very similar to High Line and Hudson Yards by Bond No 9. It’s clean , green , elegant , not cloying but a straightforward floral fragrance which is how I like it .

However , on my skin I can’t smell the Tuberose, peach or oakmoss (thank god! As oakmoss on my skin borderlines on a masculine scent ) .

Flower Market to me , smells nothing like Infloresence as some reviewers mention. I don’t get the stems and all floral . This is so much prettier although I find it a predominantly rose scent after the opening notes pass.

My only qualm with Flower Market is that the notes come across as watered down and synthetic .

The same as with High Line and Hudson Yard ( Bond No. 9 an extremely expensive brand ) for the price not sure if it’s worth it .

Although this type of scent is my cup of tea - linear , green , classy florals , I find that it doesn’t stand out in any way especially its synthetic notes and I’m not really a fan of rose scents .

Update : my daughter bought me a bottle for Christmas and I now have a pretty rose scent in my collection.

On a positive note- it’s projection and longevity is outstanding !!!

rezzmail

While I really enjoyed this scent at first; Flower Market does what I've noticed a few other Replica floral perfumes do for me. It smells quite dry, as if I've put on powder and not a perfume; which is an odd thing to complain about, but when a floral scent is dry, it feels like dryer sheets and a whole lot more synthetic and underwhelming then a gust of something then smells like a hydrated bundle of flowers in an actual Flower Market. This just smells like an expensive air freshener.

Zoe22

Definitely smells like real flowers, nothing strongly perfumey. I get a lot of rose initially, but it becomes more about the white florals as it dries down. Fresh, clean, pretty. Not for me but it is a nice scent for someone who enjoys florals.

Jasmineaeisha

One of my favorites! What I love about this is that it doesn’t just smell like the petals. It also smells like the stem, soil, water, & sunlight. If you want to smell like REAL flowers/ garden then this is for you! :)

qofb

This really isn't exciting in the slightest, but it is just pretty. I think this is my favourite from the replica line that I've tried. If you don't like white florals, probably stay away, but even so, everything about this is so gentle, soft and almost fluffy. You can smell the freesia for sure, but the pink rose is just background. This is the whole flower, the stems too and is almost a baseless fragrance to me. It's nice not to have a musk overload or a whole pine tree appearing. It's just floral through and through. Someone find me a cheaper dupe 😂

Bonezay

I will try to be as short as possible as I know that people dont like to read long reviews. This may be one of the few fragrances from the Replica line that I absolutely adore. Even though Im a male I think that this scent is absolutely suitable for these gentleman who prefer dressing in flower button ups.

As I already said i dont like many of the Replica scents like By the fireplace, at the barbers or jazz club ( the typical male scents), but Flower Market and Coffee Break are the ones I adore. Its really recognizable scent for me, and maybe the best one i've ever smelled. A very clean, floral, summer scent, like walking in a garden full of Gerbera daisy.
If a woman wears this while around me will receive a compliment for sure!

ashtonanders

this is how ill describe it; You can def smell the white florals, then, just a faint, interesting rose behind them. It dries down with the florals slightly muted. one of my favorites honestly

Sassy McNuggets

It really does smell like freshly sprayed flowers, maybe even a flower garden after a light rain. The green and floral notes work harmoniously, however, no peach can be identified. The dry down isn't as floral as I'd like it to be, the oak moss takes a greater role. Overall a very interesting scent, nothing offensive or overpowering. I don't see this as being an iconic fragrance, it's quite soapy. Reminds me of what a dignified Parisian woman would wear while out strolling the streets. I imagine this fragrance can be layered over something else to create a more impactful scent.

Anamandy

This reminds me very much of another perfume. Though the note profile is somewhat different, the freesia opening made me think of Dior Forever and Ever. It's very strongly used in Forever and Ever and it's very strongly used here. I personally don't like freesia heavy perfumes finding them too sharp, unless subtly done as it is in Chanel Beige and Dior J'Adore. But I find it so heavy here it is almost a main feature of the scent The tuberose and jasmine are there but buried under freesia. Even though I think this is very pretty overall, I really don't like when freesia has such a heavy presence. Not many reviewers mentioned it either. Maybe it just doesn't play that heavily on their skin, as it does on mine. Unfortunately, that's all I could smell after a while. Since I really don't care for freesia heavy perfumes, especially when a main feature of a scent, this is a pass for me.

Edit - I've since gotten rid of this at a loss. That freesia note is just too screechy for me.

likesleet

i really hate most florals bc they just smell overwhelming and artificial to me. however, i did like this! it was a really light, wearable, soft floral. it’s appropriate for all ages. im a teenager so im usually scared of florals smelling too nursing home but this was not that!!

it’s very much like being in the presence of flowers (ie the name) not smelling a specific flower itself.

lullabies.to.violane

I always forget how nice this is.
Which certainly speaks to the fact that this is far from being the sort of memory that lingers with you, but, inversely, also means that Flower Market is a gentle surprise every time I revisit it. This is a soft, fresh cut floral with dewy green leaves, still damp and just-purchased. It's a pale, pale pink bouquet picked up on an overcast morning, some idyllic springtime Saturday. It's perhaps less a memory- although it is, without a doubt, a realistic portrait- than it is a fantasy of optimistic romanticism. It's a valentine, it's a leisurely walk in a garden, it's a jazz record playing in the next room. It's a quiet little fragrance that invites you to stop and enjoy that quiet for a while.

Flower Market is not a scent that's going to be the star of anyone's collection; it's easily upstaged by the more indolic florals and smoky spices that I find myself gravitating towards. But what it does evoke exceptionally well is a little moment of simple sensory pleasure, the sort of moment where you can't help but think to yourself how nice life can be, even if only for now.

A post script: For all my talk of Flower Market not being a crown jewel in anyone's fragrance wardrobe, I think this is a case of not knowing what you have until you think you've lost it. For months on end, this seemed out of stock everywhere I searched, with rumors swirling of potential discontinuation, and as I watched my miniature slowly dwindle down to dregs after a year of carefully measured use, I realized that if this was it, I was really going to miss this sweet, simple little memory. When I discovered that Maison Margiela somehow now has full size bottles of this available on their website? I'm shocked at how little I hesitated. I guess I'm just not ready to say goodbye just yet.

LOST_HORIZON

Flower Market is one of the most delicate bouquets of flowers that I have smelled in my life. Jasmine and tuberose are not at all indolic, freesia and green notes make a perfect balance.
It could be a bride's perfume, but it makes me think of a bride in the middle ages, a girl who is very natural and puts flowers in her long hair and secretly marries a commoner. It is such an intimate fragrance that makes me think of true tenderness and secret love

Lučanská

I tried this today and yes, it does smell like a flower market but it is a very sharp, stinging floral with no depth. I feel like it dries down a bit soapy and probably more for a much older woman. Scrubber. I much more prefer Love Story by Chloe for a fresh floral scent

adelaidesandrina

Gorgeous gorgeous floral fragrance. However it dries down smelling like lush bath bombs for some reason. Not complaining tho

Nichole FZA

I'm wearing this for the first time, currently at work and at hour 4 since I sprayed it this morning and I would say I am quite impressed with the performance despite being an EDT.

This smells realistic...realistic as in bouquet of flowers that I used to receive from my ex-boyfriend. The smell of fresh white flowers, inoffensive and to me, romantic fragrance. I am not good at talking about notes and all, but considering I am a big fan of amber note, I am quite surprise I like this perfume as much I love Nishane Ani. Phew

bazbazar

A bouquet on a sunny morning! Unlike most florals, Flower Market represents the whole flower: from stem to petal. It's a delicate, fresh and realistic iteration of it, rather than an abstract representation of the qualities associated with it, however. This was most definitely my most successful blind buy to date, but the longevity is nothing special (although it's not as short-lived as Jo Malone creations). Water jasmine, rose and tuberose... Yum.

mrshnchnkm

Nice floral scent, but it's hard for me to single out any specific notes, it smells like a mix of white flowers and roses, it also reminds me the scent of peony. It is just basic and not unique, too generic imo.

jeannebelmondo

Very imposing and aristocratic white floral, that I can't help but just associate with funerals after my years as a florist. The bitter cold of wearing a worn and soggy apron in a walk-in-cooler, the green-stained cuts and callouses that form on your once delicate hands, the sharply vegetal smell that suffocates the van as it makes its way to its destination. It's very realistic and strong in its presence, possibly the most true-to-the-name Replica fragrance ever made. It's as if you took every jasmine, gardenia and tuberose on this earth, beat them to death with a mortar and pestle and slathered the resulting fragile mush all over your body for everyone in a ten foot radius to experience.

The dry down is a very fresh and clinical ivory soap, so real you might as well bite into a chunk of the bar. If there is any peach it's unripe, as there is not even a touch of fruitiness or sweetness to this. This is not to say you won't enjoy this if you're a tuberose and jasmine lover, but you REALLY have to be a tuberose and jasmine LOVER. The juice of this should not be colored pink; this is as white as a white floral gets.

laurenrebeccaroth

This was my first ever adult fragrance and it is still one of my go-tos! It reminds me exactly of walking through a flower market in Paris. It's bright, fresh, floral scent really shines through and made me fall in love with the Replica line.

wisewizard87

This is Jasmine Rouge by Tom Ford.. period.

kswift95

This is probably the most intimate of the replica line that I’ve tried. Very subtle, and kind of a basic floral. It’s pretty but nothing special and not worth the money. I prefer my Jovan Island Gardenia which is like $10.

RottigrlNYC

This is a pretty floral perfume that sits close to the skin, but lasts quite a few hours. It’s an intimate perfume, very feminine and romantic. I have a small bottle and will upgrade to a larger one once i finish it . I like this one very much. But I am a fan of this house, I have not found one I didn’t love or like. This perfume would make a safe blind buy or as a gift for a special woman. I can’t imagine anyone not liking this perfume. 4/5

kaie

Just a basic floral nothing special

le00000000000

I have mixed feeling about this. My mom used to work as florist and I used to help her to make deliveries. This perfume is very similar how the car smells basking with flowers and green chlorophyll scents. The small white flowers and green notes are the dominant ones, tuberose follows after, and the rose only at the opening notes but nothing on the dry down. I was expecting 'real' flowery perfume, but this is way too realistic. It would be better without the chlorophyll notes. Maybe because I used to grow up with it, I came not to keen on this kind of scent. I will finish this bottle but I regret I didn't choose tea escape as its discontinued, probably will choose matcha meditation since I think I would like to smell like matcha candies.

Daffodils in bloom

Half a squirt will do you and everyone in your company for an entire day. Seriously no need to ever spray more than once. The first half hour is very strong almost too strong of white floral. As it melds into your skin, you truly smell like a floral market. It is exactly as is described. Ive sprayed this on fresh folded laundry and come back weeks later and it still smells of this. I do love it though. I imagine this as the smell of a bride and her flowers as she walks down the aisle in spring.

tirput

Flower Market opens with a burst of white florals. Jasmine and tuberose are dominating in a very subtle way so the overall scent doesn’t come as offensive. A safe bet for everyday white floral frag. In regard to its name and the concept of Replica line, this one reminds me more of a bouquet instead of a market. That being said I'd like to smell it around, but not on me. Perfect scent for room spray or reed diffuser I think?

Perfumer: Jacques Cavallier and Marie Salamagne.

nomecomaselcoco

It feels like sinking your face in the middle of a beautiful flower bouquet. Flowery, clean, safe!

Eva Wu

The kind of neon bright, blinding white floral perfume that feels light-hearted and cheerful for about 2 minutes and then strident for the rest of the day.

Reminds me of the type of person who is energetic and positive to the point of slight mania, like a camp counselor.

That being said it's rather well-put together and tenacious too. Would probably suit someone who is its exact opposite, like a grim Belgian goth in all black.

On my end, if I need shameless, trashy cheer, I'll probably stick with Armani Sì.

Salsauce

This works better as a room spray. Too strong

Teenabeana

This is jasmine and peach. Honeyed white flowers, with a fruity top note. Fresh green notes too. It’s sweet, floral, and fresh. Very feminine.

batwinqs

Sprayed this on a test strip and it smelt so lovely! It smelt softly like a bouquet of flowers. I sprayed it on myself to see how it would react with my skin chemistry before I decided to buy, and all it reminded me of then was a cheap bar of hotel soap. It lasts a long time and the sillage is strong as well. The scent is very linear as well, all you can smell is a jasmine and rose.

If you like clean, white floral scents, this is for you.

jasiepooh

i was stunned to find that the opening of this is *actual* flowers. like 'flower store' flowers. like 'bouquet of flowers' flowers. like 'sitting in a field of flowers' flowers. like 'sniffing a bush' flowers. i cannot emphasize enough that this actually smells like flowers - not like most floral perfumes that are vaguely 'inspired' by flowers and smell lovely in their own right (think flowerbomb, miss dior, idole, daisy, etc), but the actual nature-y smell that comes from fresh cut dewy flowers. in the dry down, i pick up on that jasmine and cedar which is nice. but i have to say, it's the opening of this that really intrigues me.

i guess that's the point of the replica line (which i'm relatively new to) - to truly replicate scents, and with this one, they've really done it.

ckorp8

A very sharp white floral perfume. A bit too dry for me. Nice enough to be liked but not to be loved.

ilayda

This is a very simple unoffensive basic white floral scent. The tuberose and jasmine really take the center stage and will have you smelling like a bouquet of flowers. The rose and green notes come out a little after the dry down. This is my first replica scent and im happy with it but I think bubble bath would have been a better pick, im obsessed with it right now.

What I like the most about their collection is that each one is less of a perfume and more of a personal memory. Scents can have a very strong recollection and can take you back in time in an instant.
Flower market has a very beautiful opening. You can smell the florals mixed with moss and an air of fresh cut stems surrounding it. I wish the opening would last longer on me because I really like it.
It then transforms into a rosey tuberose, a bit sharp on the white florals. The silage and longevity is very strong on me. I have a small vial of it but I don’t think I’d be purchasing a full bottle.
I appreciate that it’s someone’s memory of a Parisian flower market. I just wish it had more green notes and the moss would stay till the end.

jakielius

A very clean, fresh and floral feminine perfume. If you really enjoy pure, sweet florals, you will probably like this. I don’t smell any of the oak moss or cedar from the base, just sharp floral smell. Wasn’t for me personally.

librabeing

Whew. This floral is too sharp for me. Also not very complex, just a big, blunt flower blast. Not the least bit like a fragrant stroll through the flower market. It gave me a headache after an hour. I would go for Diptyque's Do Son instead.

ladyjb

Simple, soft and classy white floral. Thankfully the tuberose isn’t prominent. This is basically an elegant skin scent.

Erica.Cass

Feminine fresh clean floral. I love it. Smells so pretty!

janevee

Light on the tuberose, dries down to a plasticky, generic, synthetic flowery smell. I think it's overpriced for what it is.

huet82

Quite lovely in its simplicity, and a safe, if boring, blind-buy. Even as someone who isn't too big on florals, I'd full-bottle this if it weren't so pricey for what you get. Longevity absolutely sucks, which may be why it never seems cloying as heavy florals tend to be. Sillage is poor and the scent sits pretty close to the skin, and overall lasts about 2 hours on me. Something in it reminds me of grape and lotion.

mmxknna05

This smells like clean bedding at a French hotel. Sweetly floral but under layers of clean laundry and fresh air. A causal and nonchalant floral for everyday. Simple and perfect for those with sensitive noses but still has some character of its own. Almost like a honeyed freesia and lily, covered in fresh rain.

aljalex

Flower Market is a very feminine, fresh floral that could be a safe blind buy if you love white florals and rose. It's light and slightly sharp, you get really strong hints of jasmine and fresh cut rose, along with green notes. However, it lacks a certain depth or added interest. It's just like smelling a bouquet of flowers, no more and no less. To me personally it feels a bit too boring so I won't be purchasing the full sized bottle, but I do appreciate how the scent conveys the feeling of fresh cut flowers.

Smellanie

A lovely part of the Replica sample box.
I would say it's less like walking through a flower market - would need the smell of buckets of water splashing onto cobblestones and I'm not getting that here. For my rural North American self, it's more like one of those humid early summer days where you can see pollen floating through the air on first spray. After about an hour it's more like hiking over to a field of wildflowers to hang with your friends. That might be the oakmoss lending it some forest-adjacent vibes. It's not the fresh green of cut stems, it's stems well-rooted in a meadow where you lie back to only see flower tops waving and the pollen drifting by against a clear blue sky.

Projects very well, I probably wouldn't wear this to an enclosed workspace. I have lots of different pollen allergies, and on first spray this made my nose think that maybe that's what we were going to be experiencing today. Been wearing for an hour and it's still very prominent, and I imagine it'll last all day.

clairesque

I remember trying a spray of this in Sephora years ago - I thought I loved all florals, and was drawn to the bottle and the name of Flower Market. But after spraying, I thought it was a boring fragrance, just pure in-your-face white florals, no depth and no nuance. This is the fragrance that made me realize that white florals aren't my cup of tea.

After sampling this again, the top notes definitely smell like a generic bouquet. I don't have the practice to discern any individual white floral notes, the best way I can describe it is like honeysuckle in spring but not quite as sweet as real honeysuckle, mixed with some other florals, I do get the rose.... As it dries down the rose becomes more prominent, I can also get the faint sweetness of the peach and a faint earthy, dirt smell from the oakmoss. Flower Market smells vintage/dated on me, or perhaps more like decoration than a personal fragrance.

I can see this being very appealing to any fan of white florals, but it just doesn't really work for me.

Hessieg

Blind bought. Not my vibe. Have a full bottle I’m willing to either sell or exchange. Message me!

heatherrose

This is a beautiful and very realistic floral fragrance. It's fresh, it's light, airy, and clean - there is nothing sharp or headachey about this blend. The opening, for me, smells like burying your nose in a basket of freshly picked jasmine. The dry down is a bit more soapy fresh and reminds me of how I love fresh linens to smell. Overall, I find this to be a very comforting and pretty floral fragrance suitable for many ages. Also, has great lasting power for an EDT.

If you like Elizabeth & James Nirvana White, Ouai Melrose Place or Tocca Liliana than I think Flower Market would be a safe blind buy.

michaeld2986

I'm a guy and I approve! By far, Flower Market is certainly one of the more feminine leaning fragrances in my collection, but there is something about it that I really like. On me, it's not overpowering, but I apply no more than two sprays. It does smell like a flower market, but I get more of the the green stem notes than the blooms. I get 4-5 hours longevity and moderate projection in the opening. Nice spring fragrance!

catsmagic

when you first spray this? woah, an explosion of jasmine sambac and rose de mai and tuberose, it borders on being too much BUT as it starts to dry down, the freesia and green notes slowly rear their heads and once it fully settles in it evens out and the cedarwood base note warms it up a touch. even though its a super strong white floral it some how pulls off being totally inoffensive. its kind of dreamy, the vibe is “i just got home from working in the flower shop and have had my arms shoved up to my elbows in bouquets all day” or “i’m ready for a summertime picnic and a frolic through a field of flowers”

Tee

wow... this one is really a flower market.
the first note i detected was jasmine... a pile of fresh small unfurled jasmine sambac flowers. then tuberose-rose-ultra light freesia appears.
i can say this perfume is the most similar to fresh jasmine sambac flowers i've encountered so far. the opening totally reminded me of standing nearby a jasmine stall in fresh flower market.

hachipuppy

This fragrance truly does smell like you walked into a flower market. Such a clean and crisp floral scent among first spray but on me the peach scent does grow. So refreshing and lovely. I'm so glad I was able to snag a full bottle for $80

jero

Literally after months all the other scents has long gone this white clean thing still stays on the surface of material after testing, this excites me just Inflorescence is a more beautiful scent, smells more expensive and costs lots more.

A.J.lamp

The fragrance is white floral in white clean linen. Jasmine, gardenia, tuberose, a hint of white rose, and a dash of ylang-ylang. I'm thinking of a luxurious Hotel room with a fresh bouquet of flowers in a dainty gold vase.

myjebo2012

This purchase was a blind buy at the last minute. I recognized the name when I was in Canada trying on fragrances about 3 years ago. Wow for a toilette it really stays on.

Celestya

This perfume is a fresh flowers bouquet in a bottle. White flowers, inoffensive, perfect for office, brunch, etc and for spring. Very delicate and romantic, for all ages. It is not synthetic, very naturel feeling, like an outdoor flower market in Paris. I can smell freesia, jasmine, tuberose and rose: a true floral scent! The sillage and the longevity are moderate, but it is an "Eau de Toilette".
7/10

Sesquialtera

Yes, it's very floral I suppose, but it's quite powdery too. Totally agree with the reviewer who said this smelled like something from the 90s. Or from the 1980s even - it reminds me of perfumes my mum's friends used to wear in that period (think rolled up jacket sleeves, open neck blouse, big chunky necklace, hair spray and this jasmine heavy, power-dressing floral. If you visited an independent fashion boutique in Bath or Cheltenham in the mid 80s, or even the clothing department of M&S you'd smell this type of scent on someone). Although I do get that initial euphoria of fresh blooms in the rain, it doesn't last and I'm quickly left with a much more powdery and sharp, soapy floral.

enhade

actually flower market really reminds me of dior lucky. white flower with a linen-y scent

stacia79

This is such a goody goody girl fragrance. You could get away with anything wearing this.... who would ever believe that sweet innocent you would have ever done such a thing? Nobody! Doors will open for you when you wear this. Feminine to a fault because wearing this requires a dress or skirt. Sorry, I don't make the rules! A beautiful spring floral in the style of Tocca or Elizabeth Arden. Go lightly on the trigger, this is strong.

justlikemagic

This is very pleasant. I'm not generally one who will reach for a floral fragrance - some have been hits for me, but many have been misses. I find a lot of florals on me are so strong they are headache-inducing. However, Flower Market isn't like that. It's floral, but remarkably fresh and light. Tuberose is the strongest note for me here, and it's well done. I also don't know why - and I don't think anyone else has mentioned this (so perhaps I'm losing it lol) - but it almost reminds me of sunscreen. Not in a bad way. I do enjoy the fragrance - I don't get longevity with this house most of the time unfortunately, so I don't think I'd buy a full bottle.

fawneyed_sita

First impression: This is a really well blended but somewhat monotone fresh white floral. It does conjure images of a Parisian Flower Market to my mind! Freesia, Jasmine, and Tuberose are all discernable but none predominates. I'm usually repelled by tuberose but here its inoffensive and adds a spicy dimension to the florals. I do think the tuberose/jasmine grows stronger on the dry down. Regardless of the fact that I *like* it, it is ultimately a generic scent, and I can't personally justify the price tag or having on a 100 mL bottle (I only buy 30-50 ml bottles), and I don't know if I can justify paying $30 for a 10mL travel spray either...

SeauxGood

Flower Market is acceptable, but rather boring. It smells good in a nice, decent, traditional sort of way. I’d call it a “safe” choice, the kind of fragrance you wear when you’re just trying not to offend anybody. An entry-level job interview or meeting your boyfriend’s parents for the first time, maybe. The projection and longevity here are only okay, which is not what I’m looking for in a $130 fragrance. Another drawback for me is that there’s one note in here that’s reminding me if insecticide, but I’m not sure which one.

As with a lot of Maison Martin Margiela’s floral numbers, I feel like this doesn’t do enough for me to justify the price point. Balenciaga’s Florabotanica or Gucci Bloom are better, and less expensive, interpretations of that quintessential Spring bouquet fragrance. Jessica McClintock EDP smells almost identical to this one, and is usually available for less than $20. Flower Market is an overpriced, floral fragrance in the most generic of ways, almost like the folks in the lab just phoned this one in.

tessture

Mixed bouquet very lily of the valley heavy. Some stem, mostly lily. Not loving it. Very little kid to me with all that lily of the valley

NDStars

First blast of a soapy white floral bomb, almost overwhelming but quickly settles down. Florals are definitely not my preferred family and this is more in-your-face than MMM's Springtime in a Park, which I prefer. This is more like walking into a florist who doesn't have any open windows and so one is just choked by pure florals. No projection on my skin. Thoroughly feminine and best suited for a cool day. I wouldn't want to be standing next to someone wearing this in warm weather.

6+ hours later: Faintly there, so I guess there's longevity but minimal projection on my skin.

carotomorrow

First of all I have to say I’m not the floral type so even if I don’t like it on me it doesn’t mean it’s not a good perfume. I just like to open my horizons.

Flower Market is a true floral. Wearing it right now, I’m having the impression of working in a flower shop. The first minutes were overwhelming and I was scared it would be impossible for me to leave the house but after less than an hour it was sitting closer to the skin. This perfume is delicate, classic and romantic.

AnaisLouLou

Like all the Maison Margiela perfumes, the opening is impeccable - a gigantic waft of fresh flowers and for the first 1.5 hours, you really can imagine strolling through a Parisian flower market. There is something a little empty and synthetic in the middle notes. (So, it gives you a rest.) The dry down draws out as a monosyllabic trail of jasmine. Almost, like a jasmine shrub at twilight moving into night. I fell in love with Flower Market as my first Maison Margiela perfume. I waited until there was a good price available. There are probably tons of similar perfumes on the market at cheaper prices. I didn't feel like hunting for another. The composition of this perfume hit the right notes for me. I believe that's because there is a green floral quality behind the white florals that makes it resemble a bouquet of fragrant fresh flowers.

It's not over complicated or resinous like a typical French perfume. There's nothing dated or old about it. Nothing soapy or powdery. Longevity is great, even in hot weather, but it's never over bearing or suffocating. Two sprays is plenty. I don't understand why Flower Market isn't a more popular choice.

ginandrice

Flower Market opens as a hugely sweet floral bomb: just cool, fresh pollen and flowers, flowers, flowers. Airy and strong at the same time, like an avalanche of small, nectar-sweet blooms. It leans powdery, but for the most part it’s fairly texture-neutral.

After about an hour, the oakmoss and cedar come through a little, with a hint of woody smoothness beneath the sweet.

Wwoman

Alter a blast of jasmine, the dry down for me is just the lightest of florals with a strange green note that is different from others I've experienced. I can see what they were going for here - the scent of flowers with the green from their cut stems - but I'm not sure I can jive with this particular green. I love green fragrances in general, this one is odd and I can't quite place why. I was hoping Flower Market would be "the one" for me from the Replica line, but I think I'll pass.

kkaattjjeess

Flower market is a cute little scent, as another commenter said, it's very vivid. It genuinely smells like you're in a flower shop waiting for the lady to make your bouquet.

The main downside of MM Replica fragrances (apart from being obviously overpriced, but to be honest I always find ways to buy it at least 30% below RRP) is their poor longevity, on my they turn into a skinscent within 4 hours. Not great.

Edit: This is probably the least unique of the Replica fragrances I've tried so far, I'm pretty sure you could find similar fragrances for a fraction of the price of this.

bdragonfly12345

This was a real surprise for me! I am not one for floral perfumes, and wasn't excited to try this one, but I actually REALLY enjoy it!

It really is evocative of walking through a flower market! I love that you can smell the green-ness and watery-ness too. I cannot believe the longevity on it, either: 10 hours after spraying in the crook of my elbow, I could still smell it!!

I personally think it would be best during spring or the early days of summer (not a chilly fall or winter day like today), and will put my sample away until spring, to see if I will order a full bottle of it. What a delightful find, and the reason a discovery set is such a wonderful choice!

LadyPilot

Fresh and inoffensive summer white floral? Yes, it's possible! It's a bit soapy and very delicate, like summer wind. I mostly smell honeysuckle and some very distant tuberose. In fact it's the honeysuckle that remains after 5 minutes, everything else disappears. Nothing big - but perhaps that's the greatness of it. Any pianist knows that playing forte is not an issue. The most difficult thing is to play piano pianissimo. This is what the perfume does - playing piano on white florals which are loud by definition. And this is why the perfume is a piece of olfactory art!

brightflashes

Something that doesn't stop amazing me about MMM is how vivid the scents are. As soon as I spray them on, a picture comes to mind. I know that's the idea, but I must be either extremely suggestible or these fragrances really delight the senses the way they're supposed to.

This scent is as realistic as it gets when it comes to fresh flowers. For me, though, the market isn't outside; it's inside and the flowers are being preserved in cold refrigerators.

For those who find freesia a bit abrasive, it's softer and less sharp in this blend. Also ... no headaches or sinus responses either.

PS, I think me and @max_fumehead got samples from the same batch.

max_fumehead

A simple scent that sparks vivid olfactory memories of training as a florist, standing in the fridge on a hot day and inhaling a bunch of tuberose. Maybe it's just my imagination but in this chilly floral scent I can smell the icy metallic buckets and finger-numbing water holding fresh stems of white flowers. It's a bit too tame for my tastes but when you want something light and refreshing it's perfect.

scottgiles86

Smells great, but a bit overpriced. However, I will say that this is one of the most natural floral scents I have smelled in a long time. Great for casual or office wear.

bintTapputi

I think it's very pleasant. Unfortunately I feel like most of the 'Replica' line was over priced which is where some of my ill feelings come from. However, that doesn't mean the fragrances are bad. Flower Market is lovely, it's a beautiful spring time bouquet of flowers. But it is also something that smells like it should be a lot less expensive. It smells like I've smelled it a million times before. So while it's a safe, clean floral, it's also really uninteresting and unreasonably priced. 5/10

Balletflowers

A beautiful floral, shower fresh, clean scent. Initial spritz, I get the tuberose with a hint of Rose & Jasmine. The tuberose is prominent in this on me. It’s a delicate, soapy, floral scent. Not loud or overbearing. I’d say others can smell it about arms length on you & lasting power is nice on clothes, about 6hrs+. Wonderful for the spring & summer because it’s so fresh. Nice for any occasion, casual or formal. If you like clean, soapy scents, I’d recommend. A great affordable dupe is JLo Glow.

QVT

One of the better MMM florals, but that isn't saying a lot. If you can't stand laundry musks, you aren't going to be able to wear anything from this line. This one has less of an overload than the others but that freesia note is sharp and unpleasant. There are just too many better options out there.

Scent: 4/10
Performance: 7/10
Overall: 5/10

Konga5000

If you want a "cheapie" of this : Gloria Vanderbilt Minuit a New York . Yardley Peony is discontinued.

jessora

So many reviews here make sense to me. Yes, it does smell colorful like a flower market. Yes, it's a youthful and playful fragrance but no, it's not nuanced. There is a very green, fresh opening to something sour like a puckery rose. I thought peony, I see I'm not 100% alone in that! But freesia, definite I feel that cool tartness. I am trying to get from it a woodsy citrus to take me out of that floral just for something to stand up to all those flowers. Ultimately, it has no bottom to me, and I end up tasting Floral Market in my mouth in kind of a bitter, tart way and not 100% pleasant. I have .15 ml sample of this and I won't rebuy, but I can totally see this fragrance getting used up and I'll be happy with it. However, I doubt I will rebuy. Ultimately, the mission here is fulfilled because I kind of do feel like I went to a flower market. So I give this props.

EnergeticCrab

I wanted to really like this one as I am a fan of the MMM's branding, but this is a kinda boring fragrance. Think watery, soapy florals in a cold hotel room. There also hints a dated quality to Flower Market that reminds me of the 90s. It's not bad smelling, but you can do better.

jenkuma

I was expecting more from this perfume. I don't really get "flower market." I smell a watered down and very powdery rose/jasmine. The powdery smell is what sticks out most to me and it's all that is left 3 hours later. This perfume smells kind of stale, slightly sour. This is what I would expect a very old bottle of watered down rose perfume to smell like.

WhaleFingers

Smells like a fresh early summer morning. Perfect for a younger lady. Tons of flowery petals that erupt without being sickly sweet. My wife doesn't wear this style of fragrances, though she found it refreshing. If you're looking for a youthful, flowery scent, gives this one a try.

I ordered a sample of this, tried it and ABSOLUTELY *LOVE* it...The notes that jump out are freesia, tuberose and jasmine sambac...On my skin, this trio is the best combo ever...the green notes are also divine -- they're the 'cherry on top.'

I think I'm going to have to spring for a full bottle soon!

Addict2Perfume

Flower Market by Maison Martin Margiela was aptly named! It really is a literal flower market that smells of bright florals, green leaves, and freshly cuts stems. I wish they made this in a body wash or shampoo because the freesia smells so clean and soapy. My absolutely favorite thing about this scent is that it’s not sugary or synthetic smelling at all; it smells raw and true to the source. Very feminine; always makes me want to wear lace and shades of pink when I smell it!

Inspired91

Try layering this with Gucci Bloom, it's really nice and fresh; I think they complement each other well.

Bubbles1964

I A very realistic depiction of a flower shop, I pick up the listed flowers along with gardenia and peony. I think it is beautiful and for an EDT, performance is acceptable at 2 - 3 hours. But the retail price is not (agree with Konga5000, find this at discount if you love it).

That said, I like this but it’s not a love for me. If I had to isolate why it comes down to two things: I wish the focus was on no more than three distinct flower notes, and not a mish mash of a bunch of flowers (freesia, Grasse rose petals, Sambac jasmine and tuberose; and the other flower notes I pick up, peony and gardenia). And secondly, it’s missing something unexpected. It’s missing a surprise note. When I think of “flower market”, it makes me think of......surprise...farmers markets, where they sell all kinds of items, including flowers, food items and herbs. I feel the concept could have been pushed a little farther, and in a more interesting direction.

Petula009

I love the rawness of this scent. I just wish they would make it in EdP. The longevity is poor, like a common Edt - at least on my skin.

Konga5000

I have nothing more to add except that a missing link in my perfume corral was a "natural smelling FRESH floral / flower shop / fresh cut flowers in water" type thing.
Sampled this at Sephora last year, I developed a crush on Flower Market, and visited it frequently when I was in the area!
So last week I see a full bottle, gently used off eBay, for $77.00 and I went for it. It came 4 hours ago......
Longevity is fair/good/light (I have fragrance eating skin- if you do too, note that) . The dry-down is beautiful. Flower Market does it's job well. If you like commercially popular florals like Gucci Bloom or 24 Faubourg, etc. etc. This is a STEP UP in quality in my opinion, but for God's sake, do not pay FULL MALL price. See if you can nab an online deal. Sample this at any Sephora first. Blind buy safe but only if you trust my reviews.
P.S. IGNORE the pyramid of notes on here. It's a bit off and you will not smell Peach, or Jasmin, proper. Rather, Flower Market is one of those " sheer breezy white-ish floral cocktails" pre-mixed to go .And as others have noted: I get ( Yardley) Peony ( now discontinued) in this; yet it's not listed. Thank me later.

AutumnJan

This is my first MM Replica purchase. It's a disappointing love for me. I get compliments every time I wear it, within the first 1/2 of having the beautiful scent on me. The fresh opening notes are very soft and floral, not cloying. This has the best natural flower scent. I smell lily-of-the-valley, then the dry down is a soft floral note, this is a good mood and soft summer days kind of scent. The sillage is medium/low and the longevity is low. For the cost $126.00 I would expect more than 15 minutes. I wish it were an EDP not EDT....but that first 15 min. is lovely. I just keep on spraying.

marnie_g

Reminds me of the style of the Tocca perfumes, in that they're a bit oriented to a Victorian ideal kind of woman. Also, seems synthetic in a not coming-to-life way, rather stale from a bottle kind of way. Bit disappointed as I'm all about all kinds of ways of interpreting tuberose. Has to bring delight to somebody else though.

carogoesforadrive

This was the first MMM/Replica fragrance that didn't immediately astound me, and I'm honestly a bit sad about it. Don't get me wrong, this is lovely–it's a confident, entirely floral (i.e., not woody floral, not musky floral–just straight floral) composition. But it's not revelatory in the way that By The Fireplace, for example, is. After two hours, I felt like I was wearing a very pretty deodorant, not a fabulous perfume.

Moreover, the lasting power is...not powerful. Maybe 2 hours, moderate sillage. Not what I've come to expect from MMM.

chicagogirl

Ooooh this is such an interesting scent. It really does smell like a flower shop. It also smells like pure flower extract/oils. Specifically of tuberose and jasmine. I also get an orange blossom vibe even though it's not a listed note. My uncle brings back little bottles of precious perfume oil (attar) every time he goes to the Middle East, and this reminds me so much of those. If you want to smell like real flowers then get this!

cmagnolia

Initially, I find Flower Market to be a beautiful floral scent. It is charming in its simplicity. When I breathe it in deeply, I see a burst of white light and the color light pink.

Once I spray it on my skin and let it develop, though, I find it to be super soapy and chemical-smelling. I'm disappointed because I really wanted to love this fragrance! But unfortunately it is just meh for me.

Yakayenne

At first whiff, I always find myself attracted to this fragrance. There is a sharpness, tang and powder to the floral bouquet that triggers memories of my youth and the drugstore colognes that ushered me into teenage madness. Kind of like the attraction I have to the "makeup smell" of about that time frame (eighties). It was synonymous with the desire to get pretty and go out - before that desire began to take on more and hopefully more sophistication. If I reach for this is't because of the experience. On it's own, this fragrance has only fleeting moments of grace before it turns a little crass. But not uninspired: it does have it's own thing going on.

Flowers and roses ... a lot off roses

I love Maison Marigelas replica line ! This one is more close to a like than a love. The opening is great. Really smells like fresh cut flowers. Amazing ! The dry Down is more so - so.. silage is ok but longevity is below average. A fine flower scent, soft and feminine. The replica it self is spot on. Just mit my favorite of them all, but still a pretty good one though.

natasha.wahyudihardjo

Now that I've tried a couple Maison Margiela's fragrances, I can safely say that the majority of their perfumes resemble a teen who climaxes too fast when they are just 10 minutes into 'it'.

That said, it is by no means an insult, since I never really found a perfume that sends the kicks right away as I do with Beach Walk and Flower Market. 10 seconds after spritzing, I found myself ohh and ahh-ing. They really live up to their names.

Flower Market is very interesting. Though, I'd understand if people call it generic. But this one is a likeable generic. It opens very strongly with white florals being undeniably potent. This scent mitigates my disappointment with the recent white floral perfume I tested, *cough cough* Chanel Gabrielle. Staying power is decent though sillage is not as prominent as Beach Walk.

Sweet.Wildflower

Oh this is just gorgeous! Imagine a big elegant bouquet of many beautiful flowers, a beautiful lady in a floral dress holding the bouquet of flowers and leaving the trail of those beautiful flowers behind as she passes by..It is so, so, realistic, just pure flowers, as if you were smelling them right in front of you. It is elegant, sofisticated..I can see a bride wearing this on her wedding day! So beautiful, I love this so much!

FabulouslyLazy

Upon first spray it reminded me of a funeral wreath. I think it's because of the floral blast on a rather sombre background. The oakmoss is rather heavy and so are the green leaves. I'm not sure I dislike it, because this is an unpredictable floral, yet the funeral feeling is not encouraging. Most likely I should give Flower Market a second chance. Longevity and sillage are both great.

lanelipton

my favorite current fragrance. this would be my signature scent, but it has no longevity. depressing!

Konga5000

Lasts MUCH longer than Gucci Bloom. This is a basic "fresh flowers for sale" scent. It works. It does what it says.

Lovely! But the price is too high in retail world. If you can find this for, say, $60.00 - go for it.

miracleborgtech

Was hoping for the scent of a florist shop, but Flower Market is a little bit too chemically harsh, with generic florals. It reminds me of a salon hairspray my mother used to use. Opens with a sharp white floral mix that is close to astringent. Gets 'heavier' as it settles in - in other words the alcohol fresh evaporates, and the florals seem stronger. Slighty soapy undertones reinforce the impression of a commercial scent made to enhance other products, like the hairspray that came to mind. Good sillage and longevity.

meow78

Too floral with little to soften the soapy lily feeling. I love Gucci Bloom, which is a jasmine & tuberose bomb. Flower Market just doesn’t work for me.

Winter Sweet

This is just a jasmine market (not a flower market).
However, a nice jasmine! No indole or animalic accord which is a plus to me.

Konga5000

Really weird with all these bad reviews.
I get fresh cut flowers, in water, in cold air, in a flower shop. Light, airy, euphoric.

Very realistic !

Not sure about longevity because I forgot to check on it after I left Sephora .

The opening is divine !

Cherry_Darling

Pleasant floral, nothing outstanding though and I can't really smell much other than a subtle sweet after the first few minutes. Nice but hardly worth the pricetag...

jashleysoto_11

This is a beautiful, soft, feminine and elegant perfume. It's not too sweet or too powdery. Flower Market reminds me of romance in the springtime. It's a womanly floral, not a girly-naïve floral. I couldn't stop smelling my wrists!

nordhaul

heheheh definitely a pleasant floral
soft and delicate, whispering floral:)
not AT ALL for a male. Wearing it in
the Winter at night time, layered if u
call it that, with Laura Mercier Creme
Brûlée scrub, an iLike facial with Sour
Cherry Mask finished with Rose Whip
moisturizer & finished off with Young
Living's Essential Oil of Geranium. I
think this'd be even better in summer
months - worth trying again :) aaahhh

I was not able to sleep last night and had an exhausting day at work, so decided to meander through the fragrance floor of one of the department stores downtown on my way home. My path brought me to the Replica scents, and Flower Market stood out for its intoxicating burst of lilac and lily-of-the-valley associations. It was like the lining of Heaven had just been pierced, and its pith was gushing out uncontrollably.

Though a biological male who wears heavy spice-laden monstrosities much of the time, on a whim I decided to put a few sprays of this on my wrist to envelop me in a June garden during the long subway ride home...

What started out as a commute in a floral dream turned within 15 minutes into a DARK NIGHTMARE. To my deep dismay this had transformed before my nostrils into LILY-OF-THE-HORROR. I felt that everyone was looking around the car, wondering which tasteless heathen had mixed 12 of the cheapest pharmacy perfumes together to come up with such a NAUSEATING SYNTHETIC DISASTER.

The shame! I was so relieved when my station came and I was able to slip out into the night, no doubt leaving a sickening trail of plastic disgrace in my wake...

HOUSTONHOUSTON

If you like tuberose you will like this perfume. For me tuberose is the main note here. Flowers, a lot of flowers. Fresh, girly, summery. Does not smell cheap. Reminded me Do Son. This one and Fireplace is the best in the whole Replica line IMHO.

adele l

It's extremely pleasant, certainly, but not at all reminiscent of a flower market...the prohibitively expensive byredo tulipe wins that category. Not really experiencing the freesia notes here, mainly a jasmine skin scent. Beach walk is definitely my first pick from this house

curlykitty8

This seemed like a winner as it possesses so many floral notes that I so love and at first spray it was gorgeous!
I do have a severe problem with longevity and sillage but this didn't last but five minutes and disappeared.
Another MM disappointment.

Neosmiaphyte

I love florals and cedar/oakmoss base notes, so I thought I would love this. After using a tester, I was severely disappointed! It is cloying and synthetic. It smelled like a cheap 90s body spray. I didn't get to the base notes, as I scrubbed it off due to the monstrous headache it was giving me.

kbot

This is the second Replica that has disappointed me. I expected to love this and Beach Walk and both are no more than very pretty body splashes that last about an hour--definitely not worth the price tag! Definitely one to test before buying. If it lasts longer on you, it is a lovely floral bouquet with predominantly rose and jasmine.

msmariagomez

Beautiful scent, it smells like you put your face in a bouquet of the most amazing flowers.

It can be a little one-dimensional, but that is what I love about it! Its just flowers and nothing more! The scent is so lovely it doesn't really need any supporting notes.

Neckromancer

This is a pretty and fresh floral. There is nothing special about it, but it is romantic. It doesn't smell overly realistic, just like pink flowers.

Amyoppy

I wanted to love this so much that I ended up blind buying a bottle that is currently en route to me. In the meantime, I was able to sample this yesterday and ugh . . . . . HUGE dislike. Nothing fresh or crisp about this. To me it smells exactly like Anais Anais (of which I am not a fan). Not long lasting either. Cant wait for my bottle to arrive and be sent RIGHT BACK

StellaDiverFlynn

The opening of Flower Market almost lives up to its name: bouquets of fresh rose and jasmine, with the verdancy of their leaves and stems, and the peppery nuance of their stamens. The freesia accentuates the dewy, fresh impression while tuberose lurks underneath enhancing the floral suavity. Unfortunately, a synthetic, volatile note crashes this flower party, pushing the scent into a sharp artificiality.

After about 2 hours, this synthetic note finally fades away, and the fragrance turns into a watery, fresh rose with subtle nuance of berries and peach. It then remains this young, fresh rose till the end.

The sillage is moderate to soft, and the longevity is around 5 hours. As a clean, fresh floral, Flower Market is quite versatile and inoffensive, but I'd suggest testing before buying due to the presence of the synthetic note during the opening.

Maison71

This smelled great on the test strip at Sephora, but on my skin it turns into a nasty sour plastic floral within ten minutes. Thankfully it doesn't last much longer than that.

sirop de Liège

Increadibly beautiful, feminine and soft but o so soft.... I get mainly rose and tuberose for about 30 minutes , and then it is gone.
The saleslady was so kind to fill me up a full size sample from the tester which I used in one go!
This was on my wish list for some time but I am so disappointed in the longevity I just know I am not going to spend my hard earned money on it.

Tovah

If you like heady, dreamy florals you must give this a sniff. It's incredible. It has the realistic vibe of scents like La Haie Fleurie, A La Nuit, La chasse aux papillons...so real you expect to sneeze! I think it's striking, powerful, and masterfully blended. Very very beautiful. For my nose this is all about tuberose, and I LOVE tuberose.

Anvil_of_the_Sun

At first sniff, I was impressed by this: the overall impression was of a fresh green floral rather like a more serious 'Italian tailored' version of Diorissimo - no muguet listing, but that's how it comes across. But the dry-down is very disappointing: the light, 'natural' feel goes and you're left with a very persistent set of synthetic notes. I tried this with (Untitled) from this house, and they both have this drawback. If you're tempted by this, be sure to give it a full skin test right through dry-down before you buy!

akio

It smells (almost) like Gucci Gracious Tuberose on my skin but less fruity peach. It's not so special or "wow, it's strange. It's totally Maison Martin Margiela", but not so bad, not so loud. I like it, but I can't say I love it.

Belkolisa

My first impression was there was lily-of-the-valley here but now that I see the notes it's not mentioned. I wonder what was that a little bitter flowery note at the beginning then?

FoxyVixen

I don't know why people doesn't like this fragrance but I do love it! It smells just like freshly cut flower after a morning dew. The same smell you get when you enter a flower market. Very floral, but not the "annoying floral" kind. Perfect for daywear.

hadassa

This is another instance of an attractive marketing concept and a very mediocre scent. It is certainly not bad! It is soft and nice, mainly jasmine and freesia, but not really beautiful either.

The name sets high hopes on this one :)
Oh well, it does not smell like a flower market at all.

Another safe common unnatural flower scent. Kind of fresh, not too sweet, not memorable, and again, not bad.

Edit: poor longevity on my skin.

alfarom

Probably the "best" of the lot. A subtle and trasnparent floral which might do fine during summer. Not particularly interesting and lacking a real bone structure but if you like light modern florals, give it a chance. Inoffensive, sort of generic yet somewhat decent. Me? Pass...
