First thoughts: A really nice lactic warm scent. Then it hits me, this smells like a dark sort of carrot cake with tea. What a fun little scent. Longevity and projection is light though.

druxyroses

Yes, I like the smell, and yes, it is something I would add to my collection if I had unlimited funds. I'm a big fan of Alice in Wonderland. Without the fragrance's name in the back of my head or the notes listed in front of me, I would never smell this and think, "Wow, this is exactly how that tea party probably smelled." It doesn't smell generic but isn't as wildly unique as other reviews claim. Also, it has very poor longevity. I don't hate it, but it wasn't what I hoped for.

NNNnovicenichenose

Opens frothy and bright, a bit sweet with just a touch of something green and vegetal and dries down to a powdery gourmand.
A rather whimsical feminine spring scent.

Blossomlove

This is a quintessential niche perfume-down to the juice, bottle, box, and story. It takes an array of odd notes and puts them all together and what comes out is a surprisingly pleasant perfume. Safe blind buy? I wouldn't go that far-you really have to like peppery notes in your perfumes. I was surprised to not see anyone mention the heavy hand of pepper noted. It even list "way too much pepper" as one of the notes listed on the box. I love the story and inspiration for this perfume. Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, they added carrots due to the rabbit, tea for the mad hatter, white roses painted red from the Queen of Hearts, milk (drink me), and pepper-well, I forgot why the pepper is in here! Was there sneezing involved in Alice? Anyway, it's surprising how sweet the composition gets just with the use of the carrot note. At first spritz, I was reminded of Gris Charnel. If you like Gris Charnel, get your nose on Lost Alice. It's like Gris Charnel, substitute the fig for carrot and "way too much pepper" and you have Lost Alice. It's a creamy, lactonic, tea and sweet carrot fragrance with a peppery top note with some aromatic clary sage. I can't really tell if it's powdery or not, but it sure is a well-made, creative fragrance that takes one on an olfactory journey. I'm excited to try more from Masque Milano. I'd like to try Ray-flection, Madeline, and Tango in the future.

Perfumes never have any lasting power for me and this one actually lasts fairly well on me and I get a solid 5-6 hours of wear with Lost Alice.

Raluko111

What have we here? I'm intrigued, and I'm saying this as someone whose sweet tooth got lost a while back, after getting assaulted by too many saccharine gourmand scents. But Lost Alice holds a unique spot in that world of gourmands: it is the perfect carrot cake with tea scent that is not too sweet and cloying and has enough layers to lead you down the rabbit hole in your olfactory journey. And that orris, yum! Good silage and longevity. 10/10

fishforky

This perfume smells like my weird dreams/delusions so I believe a job well done.

Zahraa555

freshly baked carrot cake (not sweet) with powder & tea. Has a touch of spiciness. Cozy and nostalgic to me.This is so incredible and unique. It keeps developing as it dries down

annoflower

Carrot and rosewater lassi.
I love it!

madanaphora

This really made me happy. Very soft spice, super cozy, not heavy, no sweetness. Eating carrot cake with a cup of tea in the best way. Not for everyone, but I love!

junimo

Oh, a lemon pound cake! Pure serotonin. Fades in literal minutes, sadly.

the_proust_effect

You place a piece of carrot cake up to your lips, and take a bite. It's not too sweet, thankfully, nor smothered in icing the way a carrot cake normally is. Savoring it, you've forgotten you're wearing lipstick until you see it's smeared on your cake and fingertips. Hoping none of the other afternoon tea guests notice, you finish the delicious, delicately sweetened, lipstick smeared carrot cake, and wash it down with a milky cup of tea.

janiefmc

Evokes buttery lipstick and soft sweet pink setting powder, like a little girl's dream of a grownup vanity. I agree with the milky cookie or tea remarks.

Below someone wrote "It felt naughty to wear this even though everything about it suggests innocence." I picture a young kept woman of an older time, enjoying the spoils of early marriage. She's gotten all done up on a chilly night to go out and get treated to an Italian dinner date. She's innocent, basically cosplaying the role of a more mature woman. She's grown in society's eyes, but still a giddy girl.

Not an everyday scent, but very special. Much more feminine than what i usually go for, but could continue to spark joy when used sparingly :)

amanda0727

Wow this is delicious! I get iris + carrot cakes with some orange-y zing! Not a strong projector (decent), but last a long time. If you love scents like Penhaligon's Mr Thompson and the new Shalimar MILLÉSIME Iris, you will love this!

livesofangels

Has the loveliest lemon bar (I didn’t get any carrot) and milky tea scent in the bottle & on paper, nuanced by the light woody notes.
I was completely expecting to want to purchase a full decanter…
unfortunately the lasting power is so, so very light, only lasting as that enchanting first whiff for around 3 minutes before quickly becoming a sweet, powdery, skin musk. A kind of fragrance I like, but not what I was hoping Lost Alice to be.

x.rina.x

For me it's a goegeous early-autumnal fragrance♡

The tea and the slightly earthy & and sweetish boiled carott nuances of the dense, powdery-creamy orris butter with a lactonic sandalwood make a carotta-cake like accord which is paired with the milky tea.

It's like an abstraction of alice's tea party. the powderiness of iris makes the inpression that u watch this imaginary picture trought a soft misty veil.

alesto

This was incredibly sweet and feminine on me. The kind of sweetness when you take a bunch of fenugreek pills. It opened with a spring garden, lemon bar for a flash, which then became a piping hot lemon tea with a cup of earl gray directly behind it. Then I smelled like a blob of cream cheese icing and fairy bread for an hour and a half, but this had such a lovely, lovely turkish delight-like rose once it mellowed out that it somehow made up for it. The carrot is hyperreal and very lush. You could bite it and suck out the carrot and orange flavor of Kagome veg juice lol. Dusty, spicy, woody dryness that reminds of makeup and sawdust moreso than earth. The sage grounds it nicely. The ending is more icing.
It felt naughty to wear this even though everything about it suggests innocence lmao. Imho this is 2010 live action Alice, not storybook Alice or cartoon Alice. Best for winter or a very cold spring. Definitely a jumble but so fun.

thegoob

Sweet, powdery, chewy, and appropriately, a bit of a head trip. It has this taffy-like scent from the sweetener overtop the tea and herbs. It's a beautiful scent and I enjoyed it at the opening, but it got a bit too intense for me as time went by. The powdered sugar seemed to sink in over unfitting constituents and felt a bit cloying. I definitely see the resemblance to Lolita Lempicka, which I also am not much a fan of.

crushedmarigolds

the most delicious milky cookie scent. almost gourmand but not quite! beautifully blended, definitely getting a bottle of this! modern and chic, while keeping a sort of retro feel to it. in love!

Retro_Futurista

At opening a bright zing of citrus tea, and then it’s softened into a creamy buttery waxy Iris/orris. I don’t get so much milk as I do butter. A lot of people online say savory carrot cake. I get that carrot character but no cake to my nose. It’s a lovely scent and I’m glad I got it a very discounted price because the performance is long but too soft for my taste. No projection much but very very soft skin scent imo.

acottong

A milky black tea that’s more milk than tea at first. Almost sickening then it mellows into something much more soft and powdery. The milk note is still too much for me, but you might like this if you like the smell of milk.

Daccord

Strongly reminiscent, cousin scent to the infamous Lolita Lempicka - but lighter on the fennel, higher on the vanilla and lactonic notes. Everytime I experience it, the fragrance evolves new qualities. Sometimes I notice the warm vanilla milkiness, sometimes the soft powdery floral pop out. Good quality ingredients here, it could have turned "sickly" very easily, but the ingredients are held in proper tension on the skin. Well balanced and fun. I would wear this on a picnic in the Spring.

hellebelle

I had written a lengthier comment, but after wearing this a while longer what I have to say is pretty brief. To me, this has little to do with the advertising, nor the advertised notes, excepting tea and sandalwood. It starts out very similar to Gris Charnel or The Matcha, but in my opinion is much nicer because it doesn't seem to contain the screechy "woody amber" of those fragrances. The dry down is rather creamy but doesn't remind me of milk, but more like French milled soap. It lasts forever, and I noticed rather strongly on a shirt I'd worn a few days ago (when I last wore this) while doing laundry today. Men seem to like it. Super cute packaging and advertising, but don't worry about carrots or "too much black pepper."

I sprayed this at perfumology in Philadelphia and this scent still haunts me almost 6 months later. Opening is a gorgeous creamy sweet fragrance that I found intriguing without being overpowering or sickly sweet. Unfortunately after 30 minutes I felt that the fragrance “flatlined” into a linear dior lipstick or a wet pencil scent (probably from the tea notes)

I don’t understand the comparison with Meander which leans more masculine.

janine57

I got this on a bogo deal and what a disappointment. It hardly has any scent-a barely imperceptible tea scent and lasts like 10 minutes. I was sucked in by the very clever name.

PerfumePixie87

Upon first impressions this is nothing like I anticipated. The opening is a burst of citrus bergamot and copious black pepper giving off a somewhat savory air of fresh spiciness. It is more refreshing and masculine than I thought it might be with a woman's name in the title and supposed gourmand/cakey elements. To my nose it is unisex though. It is aromatic and has an aspect of zen and calm to it.

Perhaps it just needed to macerate somehwat, a few weeks after the initial spritz some of the sweet spiciness and lactonic touches started to come through. It gives an impression of a creamy cardamom infused chai latte. Overall enjoyably unexpected, fairly unique and pleasant to wear! I enjoy the combination of aromatic, fresh and lightly lactonic. I think Lost Alice is befitting of it's storybook name as it smells whimsical. I might be falling down the rabbit hole to purchasing a full bottle.

Ilikewhatilike

Comfortable and relaxing wear. Great atomiser.

OTA Mom

Powdery perfume jumble that does not relect the vision.

Spicy89

The combination of lactonic notes, Powdery notes (orris and ambrette), white rose and black pepper is very calming, yet intresrmting to my nose, really enjoy it.
AND that Masque Milano Atomizer! 😍

creamyandlight

The hype around this is a bit absurd. It smells like a powdery garden. Then the powder dies down slightly and it smells more floral. I'm not getting any chai, milk, or carrot. Very boring.

likesleet

kind of random that two chai carrot cake perfumes were released close to one another and even more random that both just smell powdery and boring.

Nose for a bouquet

Who said it was only about the party? I am glad that the vision of the character and story was realized here. After 15 minutes, there are carrots, earth and tea, with a hint of lactonic sweetness, not vanilla-like in composition. Somehow the nuances of honeyed milk, do not accompany the carrots, maybe because the sage breaks things up a little and in this way, it does not really present itself as a gourmand fragrance. This is indeed fantasy done well IMO. It is a tumble down a rabbit hole. It is earthy, powdery, dry carrot, with slightly dusty wood and a light lactonic sweetness. The furniture, the tea, the hole, a smidgen of forest, with the pungency of the sage. To me, it's all here.

To compare, I think about fantasy fragrances like B-612. The vision of The Little Prince was nowhere to be found in it. It just smells like an extremely bitter fougere. It's clear to see that a lot of thought about AIWL was put into this fragrance.

vextoria

How come this perfume does not last AT ALL?! It's crazy... You have to overspray and after 1 hour it's just gone. I loved the smell, I tested it at a store and walked around for a bit to give it time, decided to buy it and I regret it a lot. It's very expensive for both the quantity you get and the zero longevity.

markvel

I can also say that this wasn’t what I hoped for 😄
Like a reviewer below I expected more like milky/orris/sandalwood with little bit of sweetness kind of cozy warm sweet smell but instead to my nose this smells very fruity for some reason 🤔 Also it has some vibe like perfumes from 80's kind of vintage smell. It's not bad but it's really different then what I imagine this to be. I don't think this is a safe blind buy! It's just OK for me.

aviegravy

This wasn’t what I hoped — I wanted a spicy, milky sandalwood. Instead, this is a soft, jammy herbal scent with a clean, almost shampoo-y feel.

TabledThoughts

Unfortunately, I bought into the vlogger enthusiasm of this being an Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter Tea Party scent-sation but it falls very flat as no more than some pepper and boring sandalwood on my skin.
No delightful carrot cake, no tea, no fantasy come alive whatsoever.
This fragrance may work better on a man I think as it has zero femininity.
Lasts on my skin maybe 2 hours.
Sadly, it will be returned.

takema

Masque Milano is not a house I am familiar with. Lost Alice is my introduction to the house. It hasn't excited me all that much, so I'm not in a rush to check out more from them. I got a sample to give it a couple wears. While I find it pleasant for the most part, I also find it pretty boring.

It opens with green, tart citrus, and the orris is present right from the start. It's soft and powdery with a hint of spice. When I smell to close to my skin it gets a little too vegetal for my taste. The carrot leans a little too vegetable broth on my skin. When I smell it in the air, and further from my skin, the fragrance is more balanced and the carrot doesn't take over like it does up close. I don't find this fragrance has a lot of sweetness. It is more green, a little earthy and a bit spicy. The milk note is elusive in this fragrance, I really don't get anything milky or creamy at all.

This could be worn all year. It can be refreshing in warmer weather and the bit of spice gives just a bit of warmth for the cooler weather. It leans feminine, but stays close enough to unisex that many men could enjoy wearing it as well. Especially iris/orris lovers. It's a simple scent that is soft and subtle enough to be unobtrusive. It's the type of fragrance I would wear when I really don't want to be noticed for my fragrance. The performance reflects this. I find the projection quite soft right from the start. It's just a little more than a skin scent. The longevity is OK, but disappointing for a fragrance at this price point. It only lasts about 3 hours on my skin.

When I looked into the price range for this brand, I find it a bit much for this fragrance. Even at a discount it's a bit overpriced. It's just not that interesting or special and the performance is underwhelming

Vesperexa

I also had high hopes for this but wasn't wowed. I don't get much milk at all, I would say this is powdery and woody, but not lactonic. The sandalwood and ambrette is honestly kind of overpowering.

ingeneuxo

-Citrus gourmand, with a slightly waxy quality to it.
-A fun, light scent reminiscent of raw cookie dough.
-Surprisingly I find myself enjoying this scent. Might add it to my collection someday. (-)

Jeandeaux

This fragrance is a magic nesting doll. The carrot note leads you through like a dream as it transitions seamlessly through the notes, as slippery as cards dancing in the dealer’s hands. How can a scent be so spicy, powdery, floral, yet salty, all at once, as it drops away layer after layer?

Elle's Bells

I was really hoping LA was going to make to to my collection, but unfortunately it's not. While it is a decent fragrance, it just doesn't have that WOW factor that I need. It actually smells like a couple of other fragrances that I have either tested extensively or once owned. However, it does create a pleasant scent bubble and I did have to overspray a bit just to get that.

iszzieanna

Almost identical to Meander.

On paper, it’s more gourmand and gives a lactonic and carrot feel. On skin, I don’t really get tea, milk or a carrot cake. Simply chalky, creamy and buttery orris root and sandalwood. It’s good but it’s missing the wow factor. Interesting how skin can change a fragrance

Bloodlust

I had very high hopes for this, but this is an underwhelmingly one-dimensional scent. It is… a nice scent presented in an unpleasant and unimaginative way. Sweet, powdery, bordering on shrill- but flat.

If you would like to preview EXACTLY what this smells like, go to Whole Foods and crack open Mrs Meyers Oat Blossom hand cream, 4.99$
It is the literal exact scent.

JK731

Lost Alice is very [very] similar to Meander, and it makes sense since they're both by Mackenzie Reilly. The nuances between the two are so light, that you would probably only be able to pick them apart if smelling side-by-side. Unfortunately, I only had a sample of Meander and bought this blindly, so I can't do a side-by-side, but I think this is a lighter, slightly softer version of Meander with the creamy sandalwood lasting throughout.

Warm, slightly spicy, slightly powdery, with hints of chai late in the autumn, and definitely for the sandalwood lover. Sits close to the skin with moderate silage.

Because this also reminds me of Frapin's If by R.K, and because Alice in Wonderland was my all-time favorite book as a child, I find something poetic in this DNA profile. It's comforting and nostalgic while invoking a state of reflection and contemplation. Beautiful!

Dmiddy

This is the best tea scent I have ever encountered. It reminds me of milk oolong—decadent. This is beautiful, comforting and incredibly well-made. When this runs out, I’m going to restock.

next.fragrance

This a gem. It smells so delicious and is quite reminiscent to Alice in Wonderland. It reminds me of Earl gray with milk and freshly opened deck of cards towards the middle, kind of like Xerjoff Pikovaya dama (probably due to iris and sandalwood notes). Really nice and really playful.

lessthanzero

I had a sample of this laying around and decided to put it on after my shower today. I just went and ran errands and I felt *blushes* so pretty!

This is a very light, bright, almost dainty perfume. It is sort of chai tea, sort of carrot cake, but doesn't wear like a typical gourmand. Powdery but not old lady. A little herbal sum' sumthin' lies underneath.

Oh and it projects like hell! I was walking around in a constant cloud of Lost Alice for hours, and standing three feet away from people because I was worried I would choke them out. I believe the ambrette is the culprit, as I am particularly sensitive to musks - in the best way!

Love this but not convinced it is masculine enough for me to have on the shelf - even as a man who loves women's fragrances.

Donastm1

This is the only lactonic scent I've ever worn that I feel like I can actually taste. Blew me away. It smells and tastes as expected--a lovely, but not overly sweet treat with a sophisticated English tea. Even though it goes on light for me, I can smell it for several hours after the fact.

citrine.lux

When I tested this initially, I was not a fan. Now I've started to come around to it. Something about it smells like a slightly high-end conditioner. What convinced me to buy a sample was the claim that it smelled like carrot cake. And if you are considering it for the same reason, personally I don't think it does. It's an inoffensive gourmand, but I'm not sure if it's for me. If you like powdery lactonic fragrances, then this is for you.

krukmary

Maybe I got a weird batch of this?? But I also think I'm somewhat anosmic to it, as I had a difficult time even catching the scent at all. What I could smell, I'd describe as 1 part Teisenddu mixed with 10 parts water. I got my bottle from Luckyscent and tried it 3 times, the last couple times after letting it "settle" for over 2 weeks. LS graciously allowed me to return it, a 1- time deal because I'm such a frequent customer! 😅
I'm posting this just to recommend getting a sample before blind-buying a bottle!

PS Luckyscent also mentioned that you can request a sample of any perfume you're blind-buying along with the bottle. That way, you can keep the full bottle wrapped and sealed, retaining the option to return it if you don't like the sample! Such a fantastic company!! ❤️ 👍

muzzbait

Well, I've kinda changed my tune about this scent...
The milky-lactonic opening works with the tea, and the earthy iris/carrot all tie in perfectly to create a great scent.
All the pieces fit well together and the scent works well...
It has progressed to the 'try alone' stage, and then, possibly it will be purchased.
Love it.

ntlzhng

Some days I really like this, other days I find it kind of abrasive. It's a cold day in Southern California today, and I can really smell the bergamot (a faint cloud of earl grey tea), spiced carrot, and lactonic notes coming through. It's sweet, but curbed by what I presume are the pepper and sage notes– I like how it isn't a true gourmand, sugar bomb. It's warm and comforting on a cold day as its dry-down is lightly sweet and buttery, but plasticky and sharp on sunnier, warmer days. I haven't been reaching for this perfume recently, but I can't stop sniffing my wrist for some comfort on such a chilly day! This would be a beautiful winter and fall perfume. I'm intrigued by Masque Milano and am looking forward to exploring their other scents.

fantomette

It reminds me of exclamation by Coty if it was a gourmand. It has the same fresh powdery vibe (the rose and orris ?) with an added milky cake-y note. It’s really good ! It’s as if you sprayed exclamation while eating some carrot vanilla pudding. There is also a slight cinnamon note that rounds everything up. Might get a bigger decant ! It’s also fairly strong upon spray. Wish this was made into a candle !!

ko.yours

Got a sample on my skin: Starts out lactonic. Carrot is strong but musk is stronger, has a soothing/cooling effect from bergamot which I find rather puzzling and sometimes unpleasant. Notes are not well blended or well balanced. Something about it that actually reminds me more of a dusty closet than eating carrot cake and drinking tea. I don't smell the tea at all. I feel like it missed the mark and it could have been something much greater - or perhaps it's just my skin. Maybe I will layer it with something that has almond or chestnut notes to bring the cakey sweetness out. Can't shake the dusty smell, must be the musk & pepper.

Image I get as I'm smelling the faded fragrance on my skin: it's a snapshot of a broom stick sitting in the corner of a red brick tiled kitchen, in a rustic Spanish country side home, dust dancing in the sunset light. But I wish it was that romantic.

muzzbait

This one is a sleeper...
It comes on so slowly and quietly, in the first half hour I'm not even aware it's there! Then, suddenly, BOOM, oh, hi, there you are...
Milky, orrisy and with a bit of tea.
Maybe too much tea, it's coming across as a little too bitter-metallic for me. It's not much, but it's noticable...
The carrot adds a bit of earthy goodness, to accompany the orris, but for mine, what takes this scent from excellent to very good is the tea -- I really don't think it belongs at all. It's unnecessary, and in my opinion, actually ruins it a little.

I still plan to trial this out a few more times, but that is my preliminary feeling...

mrshnchnkm

It smells like Santal 33 has been added to carrot puree. I don't smell tea, I don't smell lactonic notes, all I can smell is sandalwood and carrots.

laurenrebeccaroth

I absolutely adore this scent. It smells like a soft carrot cake on my skin. I purchased the tester, DO NOT BLIND BUY THIS PERFUME, and fell in love. The only real downside is it doesn't have a very sillage for me and doesn't seem to last long on my skin. But this is such a beautiful and unique perfume, I would absolutely recommend!

Aveline

For the price per ounce, I'm honestly glad I don't love it. Lost Alice isn't as luxe as I was expecting. The milky note plays extremely well on my skin, perhaps the best I've experienced, and the sandalwood grounds it well. This is where the majority of the tea party happens. I do get a lot of pepper, but it's not bothering me. What is bothering me however is this fruity note, probably the bergamot and if it is, it's not providing any freshness like it's known to. It's really throwing off the whole composition for me and reading as Tommy Bahama candle. I typically enjoy powder but would not call this a powdery perfume. Instead it's a touch dusty, adding to the candle affect. Unfortunately this doesn't seem much different than something you could find at a cheaper indie house, such as Poesie or Solstice Scents. Perhaps this line uses far more expensive raw materials, I can't say it's headache-y at all, but overall very meh for me.

VampsandTramps

Blind bought this based on the notes, reviews and my respect for the perfumer who also did California Snow. The negative reviews said this was too powdery, and I was like Bring it on. But it’s not that powdery especially compared to Vivienne Westwood’s Naughty Alice which has a similar inspiration. What I get is a strong ambrette seed, popular in the early aughts, with a bit of sour milk and rose laid on top and a a dusting of carrot seed which I love but it doesn’t quite redeem it. Just doesn’t quite sync with my skin and just sits on top.

jassca99

All the listed notes are my jam and I’m so happy I love it after testing it. The carrot note is a perfect addition. A very likable, yet different, true-to-scent tea fragrance. It’s a tea fragrance that’s not too sweet or bright, which I already own and love. It’s more like the smell of steeped loose unprocessed tea leaves, with some milk and little sugar, after the hot water has cooled down a little but there’s still vapor rising. Great comfort scent but not sure if I’ll ever be in the mood to want to wear and smell like this outside. Seems like an indoor only fragrance to me. It also gets a tad powdery as the juice sits and I don’t know how I feel about that.

Zoffe

When sprayed on paper, I got the most wonderful notes of carrot cake and Earl Grey tea with milk. Unfortunately, almost none of that translates on my skin or even if I spray it on my clothes. Currently testing it for the second day in a row (5 hrs into wearing it), and all I'm picking up on myself is a very powdery scent. It's really quite lovely, but not at all what I was hoping for or expecting. I'll keep using my sample and possibly update ;)

AquaBaby5

I’m in love. It smells like tea and carrot cake and it’s soft and delicious. And it LASTS and projects on me with even the tiniest spray!! It’s there to greet me when I wake up if I wear it to bed. And who am I kidding, I have been putting it on again in the morning. My next full bottle purchase if I can find it in stock somewhere, can’t wait to have it for this spring.

Side note but the running joke at work is that I go down rabbit holes so this is perfection conceptually as well for me.

Edit, I ended up buying it on special at Maxaroma while they had a coupon and branded free travel spray deals running. Very happy. To add to my impression of the fragrance, this isn’t cold for an Iris fragrance likely due to the ambrette, it’s of a neutral temperature to me, and ideal for transitional weather.

Later edit: I see comparisons to Meander. When I smelled Meander I didn’t think of this fragrance at all, though I did enjoy it I thought it leaned masculine to me, whereas this leans feminine.

This had me at first until I washed my arm to try it again without any other samples interfering with it. It became grassy on me and smelled like I just rolled around on a grassy hill…with a hint of powder. This is unfortunate because I had this in my cart to purchase but now I’m rethinking that purchase. I’m not sure how it went from a love to a dislike within 45 minutes. This has happened to me with Le Pointe G by Veronique Gabai. I'm not sure what notes are mixing with my skin chemistry to create this awful smell. But now I would like to know.

Side note: I would say to sample this on a full test drive before buying. It may change for you as it did for me.

Lalipnw

I completely agree with the reviewer below in that this perfume from the opening reminds me of This is her by Zadig & Voltaire. Unfortunately this type of fragrance just don’t last on my skin.

silthrill

I blind bought this out of intrigue and curiosity. I agree with the review that says this is 80% familiar and 20% je-ne-sais-quoi. The initial spray is a really intense but delightful blast of black pepper mixed with latex gloves (not a bad thing). A minute later it’s this beautiful spicy orris with a touch of citrusy bergamot. The dry down is much more subtle - it's a mix of orris, rose, lime vibes (bergamot), and spice. If I had to compare this to something I'd say that it's This Is Her by Zadig & Voltaire with a black pepper, orris, and bergamot twist. The pepper is really genius - it has a menthol-like cooling vibe for my nose and I love it. This one is a keeper. Full bottle worthy and I hope it’s permanent to their collection.

GlacialImpala

Damn. I got this randomly in their Advent Calendar. Didn't expect anything nice because I don't love orris, powdery notes in general. This is ~80% 'something familiar' female likable perfume but the rest of it... omg, it's so so surprising, I've never smelled anything like it. Definitely get a sample at least. My only regret is having smelled the sprayer itself - it has a tiniest hint of lemon (not bergamot or other citruses) and with that note the scent becomes literally perfect to my taste. Sadly lemon always dissipates almost the second you spray it.

Masque Milano's Lost Alice is perfection. A work of art. A gourmand delight. A great, comforting fragrance for bedtime. I purchased a 35ml bottle and expect to buy many more over time. It one of my most-loved and worn perfumes.

Close your eyes and you are there with Alice during the tea party in Wonderland. Master perfumer Mackenzie Reilly hit it out of the park with all the bases loaded and then some.

Masque Milano wants her to contribute a fragrance to its Donne di Masque collection. I say bring it on!

SmellsLikeAdventure

Total powder bomb with a hint of pencil shavings. Not a hint of bergamote in sight nor at all lactonic. This was described to me as a creamy bergamot and I cannot imagine a description further from what I am smelling. From the reviews it sounds like a lot of the love comes from the association with the book/character. It is not an unpleasant or abrasive smell but I feel like a light layer of baby powder and writing a letter to a friend in pencil would give me the same journey.

mabaho

Lost Alice by Masque Milano has quickly become my favorite fragrance. The smell evokes a feeling of stepping into a warm British tea room and ordering a large slice of warm carrot cake with tea and cream.

I was immediately drawn to the milky notes and the gourmand cake scent. It feels comforting in a way that a warm hug would feel. I don't pick up on the powdery description, but mostly the milk and baked good accords. It doesn't feel too young or too old, and strikes the perfect balance of a comforting smell. It's the type of smell that I would want people to remember me by when giving goodbye hugs.

Generally I only do only one or two sprays that are distributed on my wrists and then dabbed on my neck. Because I don't use much it's not overpowering, but I do smell it if I'm using hand gestures when I talk. I've found that if I'm having a particularly stressful moment or day I will smell my wrists to relax myself.

Originally I had purchased this scent as an add on to some other purchases. I was buying samples from Tigerlily Perfumerie online and this was listed as one of their New & Noteworthy scents. The quote of "too much black pepper, and no, the black pepper is not too much. It is balanced to perfection!" sold me on buying this sample. I am hesitant to spend so much money on only 35ml, but I haven't found another scent like it.

petcake

This scent has taken me by surprise in the best way! I'm not usually drawn to creamy or powdery fragrances but there's something in Lost Alice that radiates such comfort & beauty that blows me away. It's mellow without being dull, sweet without being saccharine, powdery without the diaper/cosmetics bent. It's just lovely. So feminine & comforting.
A single spritz on a chilly day has had impressive staying-power & sillage.

perfumesniffer

really wanted (and expected) to love this but all I get is pencil lead and pencil shavings.

al_georgieva

I've opened Lost Alice with great expectations as I love Alice in Wonderland, my favorite book of all time.
Beginning is flowers, garden in May, pancakes with butter and little vanilla in the dough, a little pepper, something I dont recognize. After 15-20 minutes a rose, bold one stands out from the flowers, a bit distant (because someone is painting it red I guess). Garden stays, the tea is Earl Grey, the pepper appears and disappears, some moments I sense sandalwood, flowers, fresh iris on the shadows, tea with milk and all the time perfume is somehow elusive, changeable and beautiful. Great creations!

evarosa

I found this warm and woody, gourmandish like pastry. The scent, in contrast to other Masque Milano fragrances is restrained, but there is good lasting power.

I had a different vision of it judging by the notes listed and glad that I didn't blind buy. I did not get the bergamot and tea, that I was hoping for.

People who enjoy Xerjoff's Cruz del Sur may like this.

DJoy27

The smell of this really reminds me of Dove shampoo. I love that smell, but I was hoping it would smell more like milky tea. I think this would be a good clean daily fragrance though

@Bubbles1964
Dear Bubbles1964, I realized something had happened, due to the failure of your daily review...
Losing a pet is a very painful thing, even those who have no correlation can imagine it, because losing Love is always heartbreaking, and love is not pointing to a who rather than a thing, this is my thought.
I have lost a daughter, my only daughter, my only reason for living, so I know what it means losing the most beautiful and precious treasure we have in the world. I thought it was impossible to survive then I realized that I can find her in the light, in a sincere smile, in scents and perfumes that give me so many emotions and the ability to find a way again. Because we must continue our path in beauty and positive feeling after a torment and pain. We Must do it.
Even though it may be early now, one day you will savor the serenity and joy again.
This is my sincere wish to you, dear, a huge hug to you and a rose petal to your sweet dog.
🙏🏼🥀💋

[ I apologize to everyone because this was not a review, committing myself to test as soon as possible this perfume, that always'll remind me of you. ]

Bubbles1964

I took some time off from wearing fragrance. A few weeks ago my cairn terrier unexpectedly suffered a stroke, and two days later she was gone. If you have never felt a deep connection with a pet, you may not be able to relate to my sentiments of love and heartbreak that I have for my dog. It all happened so quickly, it feels surreal. I still can’t believe she is gone.

Through it all, I stopped wearing perfume. I had no desire to do any of the things that brought me joy. Initially I didn’t understand why, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t want to associate a smell with this heartbreaking time.

I buried my sweet girl with 100 pink and white roses, and whenever I see or smell them I do think of her.

But back to this scent, Lost Alice.

Lost Alice does have rose in it, but it’s hardly detectable—other notes are bigger players, mainly tea and milk. I picked this scent to test because it sounded comforting, which it accomplishes. I would describe Lost Alice as a floral gourmand. Iris root is more noticeable. Everything smells natural and there’s decent performance too.

A nice, comforting scent. Just what the doctor ordered.

Dingleberries

Very similar in structure to Amouage Meander minus the laconic notes. Totally not surprised as both were perfumed by MacKenzie Reilly. It's definitely beautiful and I've owned a bottle since the second it was released. You can smell the Carrot seed and the milky sweetness it kinda reminds me of eating Carrot cake and drinking earl grey tea. Thats the kinda memories this evokes for me

emerson10

ooo ooo ooo she's got a new fave. I LOVE THIS FRAGRANCE. I looked at the notes and was already like, how could I not love this and I was right.

The cozy and warm but fresh hug you need. Someone asked me who the type of person to wear this frag was, and I said someone with wanderlust, where good/wild things always happen to them and they walk around with this bright eyed naivete about how unique their circumstance is or how special they are (in a good way!).

Then I went on the Masque Milano site and read the description and OMG YES, this is Alice (from Alice in Wonderland's) Tea Party! YES.

AveParfum

Absolutely love Lost Alice! I am a DIE HARD FAN of Alice in Wonderland. I mean, it's obsessive what a fan I am. Disney's movie, as well as the new ones with Johnny Depp, never cease to captivate my imagination.

Lost Alice smells like buttery scones with the most mouthwatering red currant jam and black tea with lots of cream. It possesses a magical, somewhat mysterious quality that is hard to pinpoint. I pick up a little of the broom, which helps to place the perfume in the outdoors and reminds me of the momeraths, haha, but it's extremely subtle. Hours later the gourmand qualities retreat a bit, while iris grows to provide elegance. By this point the perfume is more subtle on my skin, but it's extremely pleasant with milky orris butter.

I can't believe there is no fruit in the pyramid because some type of red fruit is quite prominent. The official description mentions "white roses painted red", so maybe that is what they mean? Yet I do not notice the scent of rose.

In the past, when I wanted Alice in Wonderland vibes, I wore Blossom Jam Tea Cakes by Solstice Scents. I highly recommend that any other big Alice fans try it out! It is more gourmand with cakes, honey, jam, milky tea and wildflowers. But if you prefer a more proper lady-like perfume, Lost Alice is perfect.

s.pellegrino

Smells exactly like milky earl grey to me -- wonderfully evocative of Alice, a story dear to my heart. really very well done. Still need to figure out whether I'd want to smell like this, too, but for now definitely color me impressed.

thescented1

This is beautiful. Bravo Masque Milano, you have truly captured the tea party. I enjoy every phase of this fragrance. It is now on my FB wish list. It's not too gourmand, just a touch with whisperings of a garden party in the background. I think I'm leaning 10/10 on this one which I have never rated any fragrance that high.

Allisonmsmith22

Yum! Smells just like fruity scones, yet somehow completely wearable!
