This is for licorice lovers! and the fruity opening is beautiful as well. It is a very warm and inviting scent, almost comforting. The dry down is a nice predominantly sandalwood base, I dont get much amber, but the tonka bean is smelled throughout. Aside from the scent, the bottle itself is gorgeous. I love the art behind the fragrances as well as the bottles.

Odor Aeternitatis

This one is a really interesting fragrance and it is truly a niche fragrance. I have been looking for a fragrance with ink accord and have tried a few of them but neither caught my attention. I bought this one blindly and it's becoming one of my best blind buys. Although I should say it is not a safe blind buy at all.
The combination of notes in this fragrance is incredibly creative. The main accord is ink, which gives it a dark, mysterious character. The top notes of cherry and plum give it an alluring and enigmatic quality, while the floral middle notes provide a fresh background. This scent is abstract, meaning that it is incredibly unique and unlike any other fragrance or honestly anything. It's unisex with moderate to good performance, and has a very distinct character. To me, it feels like an artistic fragrance.

I bought a tester to try.
For me the combination reminds me most of cherry flavoured medicine I had as a child.
It also smells like pen ink as well.
It smells really medicinal and sickenly.
Basically it just smells like doing my homework as a kid while having a cold in my mind XD

Airborne Armadillo

I'm getting purple fruit scented eraser. The ones that were shaped and colored like fruits that I always begged my mom to buy me in elementary school. The grapes or plums or other purple ones didn't smell like any certain fruit- they all smelled the same- like "sweet purple" mixed with that white creamy rubber that they used for those decorative erasers. It's not unpleasant, and it actually gets a few bonus points for the nostalgia it evokes, but it is definitely not for me.

Edit to add- I just read all the reviews below and see several mentions of smoke- even meaty smoke. I don't get that at all, not even a hint. Rubber, but no smoke.

Joani_Cheddar

Much more smoky than I anticipated - still, not a show stopper - big time ink & lots of wood - the fruit seems to be an afterthought. Do I like or love? = indifferent.

I have a full bottle for sale in Canada, message me!

To be honest, I hate it. It was a waste of money. Good thing the bottle and box are nice otherwise I’d be really upset with myself. It smells horribly of pen ink. I thought I’d get more Cherry, Plum and Licorice but no. Just straight pen ink. My dad strangely enough loves it. He kept sniffing the tester strip with this facial expression like he was so intrigued by it. He said he could sit there all day smelling it. Lol so I may just give him the damn bottle so it’s not a loss. It’s very unique and I guess certain people will love it a ton while some people like me will hate it.

In response to AlaskanAngel below. Lolita Lempicka is my signature and I’m obsessed with her and all of her flankers. I thought going off my love of Licorice that’d I love this too but was sadly disappointed.

AlaskanAngel

Very smokey. Very sweet with strong cherry. Unfortunately this reminds me of BBQ sauce. I can understand that someone who enjoys Lolita Lempicka would also like this one, as they share similar scent stories. I actually prefer this one as it follows a more interesting, darker path. But I don't want to wear either. Decluttering.

Review of full bottle blind-buy.

RESPONSE to Twiztidladii (from above).

Oh, how interesting that you hate this and love L.L.! I suspect your dislike is proportionally inverse to your feelings for your signature fragrance line. I thought this smelled like a stronger, deeper, more agressive version of L.L., and so I assumed, wrongly, that if you liked one, you'd probably enjoy the other.

I'm pretty ambivalent to both, they're too sweet/cherry/powdery for my taste... I do wonder though if perhaps that's why your father enjoys it so? Because it's like a darker version of your signature, an edgier version that he might consider more masculine/wearable for himself?

Twiztidladii, I highly recommend you try BLACK VINES by the House of Kerosene. It's the most incredible licorice fragrance I've ever found!

jazzyraspberry

Opens strong plum, pivots to cherry and then quickly fuses with the ink note. The licorice is a clever note to balance the ink smell and in the first couple minutes of smelling, this is a unique fragrance that I was very glad to have tried.

Unfortunately however, as this fragrance drys down the licorice and cherry dissipate and we are left with a mess of inky sweetness that is remeniscent of a ball point pen explosion.
I can't even give points for longevity as this turns into a skin scent after 30minutes.

Allisonmsmith22

I don't know about ink, all I get is tar. Sweet, violet TAR. Do not blind but this.

AndySmellsGreat

Wow it starts with what resembles a Smokey burning wood. After 5-15 minutes it’s softens and the beginnings of burnt plum and some cherry pop up on its journey forward.

This is then beautifully mixed on top of woods, ink and amber giving a sultry velvety dark feel.

Imagine Jon Pertwee as doctor who wearing a Purple Velvet Smoking Jacket sitting around a campfire at night with roasted plums and cherries nearby.

Reminiscent in parts of some texta ink - I don’t know how they achieve the Bright sharp medicinal alchohol fruity airiness in parts - I assume it’s the Licorice though that for me seems to be the fleshy part of a stick of licorice rather than the anise aspect…

Anyhow, killer scent and possibly the stronger of all their range. All their perfumes are amazing.

bleukreuz

Purple heart opens with sweet burst of cherry and plum, then completely transform into wood drenched in ink, although the sweetness may peek intermittently. It is very smoky, and the wood has somewhat burnt quality to it... The smoky woody inky smell is pretty sharp in a offensive-but-not-really way, that you'll probably wonder whether the smell is coming from you or whether your house is on fire right now. The smell is pretty unique, but you definitely have to like smoky smell to like this. This is a unisex scent that is appropriate for cooler weather.

Kronstadt

Not my cup of tea. Opening is like sugary jam overlaid with pen ends. It’s a unique fragrance, no doubt, but too intensely sweet for me.

yaayyya

The plum is sweet and juicy here, but the tire oil makes it too muffled, dry, and dusty for me. It's an interesting combination, but not impressive and not particularly pleasant. It lacks depth to me. I feel like it needs some saltiness or sourness to revive.

BaJu

Opening is just terrible, smells like syntetic plastic... :( It fades away only after couple of hours. And then gentle violet scent appears, which is really pleasant. But to survive couple of hours with this sintetic plastic... Sorry, but no. Glad that tried, because had a plan for blind buy. Definitely should be tried before ordering. Longevity quite low for such price, unfortunatelly.

Daisy42

After 2 seconds of beautiful dark fruity plum it literally becomes a scent of smoky bacon :( After a while it softens and the fruits come back but this bacon smell... it ruins the whole thing. I smell like I wpuld spend a day standing next to an outside barbecue and the wind would blow all the smoke on me. I do not want to smell like that I wanted a beautiful plum so much.

AndySmellsGreat

Wow! Blind bought bottle just arrived.

Not what people indicate on me!

Definitely unique.

On paper ink with a slight texta feel with cherry and plum.

On skin the initial as above disappears rapidly revealing a very slight shallow boozy liquor dark fruit feel with a tad ink and a huge in comparison burnt smoke over the top. Over the next few hours wafts of Cherry and plum mixed with equal ink permeate the air probably more so along the lines of boozy liquor al la Tom Ford Lost Cherry - the smoke is more prominent.

In fact another analogy whilst not the same core ingredients it gives a smell and feel similar to Norne Slumberhouse - just replace the herbs and spices with dark fruit. After 2-3 hours the performance whilst still good wanes noticeably and the dry woods become a bit of player and more prominent.

Awesome points for originality and whilst not class leading in performance it is very decent.

I could wear this in summer whilst Norne is purely cold weather.

Would buy again as it is left field and otherwise unique.

If you like left field and are over the marketing hype from Imaginary Authors and Zoologist and want something more wearable this may be for you...

On the long dry down this infact smells like a superior smoky version of Lost Cherry as it evolves...

shushkin

Woah! I'm hit with a tsunami of licorice, cherry and plum flavoured ink. Mega black ink! It's the ink that is the heart and soul of this unusual and not unpleasant scent. Sorry I couldn't help myself 😁
Gradually the vanilla, wood and violet is more apparent. I have four Lolita Lempicka scents and I get a similarity but thats it. This is less sweet and bang on unisex.
It's nice but I think I will stick with my Lempickas and Guerlain LBD intense.
It seems a cool weather scent. A bit too much for warm weather. The sillage is pretty big. Average longevity.

Q80

Sweet rubber.

I really enjoy the mix of violets, cherries, licorice, & plums that causes the ink like note. It's sour sweet from the cherries, bitter from the licorice, & rubbery from the plums and violets. When it cools down the sweet amber rise up with bits of tonka, and woods.

This blend is a love indeed with it's ink addiction. Excellent.

Jessica777

This is my favourite Heart.
I love its first punch of sweet black fruits. Also, how it transforms and increases in strength over time, how its notes are changing and it delivers yet another -even more powerful- punch of liquorice, mixed with woody-floral notes... And then there's ink & vanilla! Oh my.. I feel like my head is spinning but I don't want to stop sniffing my wrists!
A beautiful, intoxicating, uplifting scent! Love it!

This is a true Masterpiece!!
Dried, woody, fruity, just perfectly balanced.

mrsg34

I posted on the niche fragrance thread asking for recommendations for a nice deep, dark cherry scent and this was one of the suggestions. I didn't want a screechy cherry or anything to fleeting.
I'd never heard of this brand and couldn't get samples so thought in for a penny in for a pound and ordered a bottle.
On opening my package I was met with an immense looking bottle shaped like an actual heart, it must be the most unique bottle I own!
On first spray I got a blast of powdery violet and immediately thought "oh no not what I'm looking for".......BUT then as it settled I got the most beautiful dark, sweet cherry aroma that blended into an inky cherry with lots of depth, I've found exactly what I was looking for and I love it!
