The combination of Ylang-Ylang and agave smells like coconut.
+ a ton of vanillin.
i can only feel the animalic/pissy influence of tuberose, It doesn’t smell like tuberose fresh petals.
In a nutshell, that’s coconut passion body mist by Victoria Secret with a snail slime odor.
Just get the VS (longevity is great btw).
I have the 10 ml and won’t purchase a full bottle.

This is a lovely, floral forward scent. Definitely feminine-leaning but I think most could pull this off. This doesn't overwhelm with sweetness, this summery warm frag is very evocate of a fresh outdoors vibe. The agave lends an understated green note that makes you feel like you're in a field of wildflowers.

Danimcc90

Stunning obsessed 🤩 it somehow smells like a rainforest but also creamy and beachy. It’s so pretty but it stands out. It’s more for someone late 20s and up. I’m 34 and I find it very upmarket and expensive smelling. The tuberose is so well blended while the agave note sweetens it just enough and it works like a charm on the skin. Green opening lasts for about 10 mins but the dry down is the best, truly scrumptious. 🥰

Tasherapd

I enjoy this fragrance alot. It’s smooth and creamy. The tuberose doesn’t go into that bubblegum smell territory. The mandarin orange adds a slight freshness to the creaminess so the fragrance doesn’t become cloying. This fragrance is cozy and comforting. This is a mature scent for a grown woman. This isn’t the typical scent profile I go for but I find myself thinking about it a lot and reaching for my decant to spritz a few sprays on myself. Yet I don’t feel a full bottle will be necessary. I’ll continue to enjoy my decant while it lasts.

sntiago

Dries down into a super shampoo-ey tuberose. While I don't mind tuberose fragrances that lean into clean soapy territory, the green note in this just exacerbates the body wash feel too much. If you hate bubblegummy, mentholated or indolic tuberose, this one might be for you, but where's the fun in that?

BRoom212

I enjoyed my sample of this but won’t seek a full bottle.

Performance is on par with the price, long lasting (8 +hrs) and you only need little of this otherwise it veers into headache territory. Good sillage too but not quite beast mode.

Fairly linear white floral, heavy on the tuberose, bit sweet from the vanilla but not much else going on. Well blended and has a very “quality” feel.

Mature, feminine fragrance.

Loose Goose

Cool creamy tuberose with a slightly noticeable green note, it does smell more natural than other creamy tuberoses, but I still think of synthetic sunscreen. Lasts a decent amount of time

Anna712

It was love at first spray! fun, sweet, my favorite orange blossom. But not cloying, not nauseating, but expensive! Unfortunately, when it dries on me scin, it simply turns into daf soap. I even thought how offensive it was. Its not my cap of tea.... But the longevity is unimaginable - after more than a day I smell this scent, and now it is very delicate, sits close to the skin, there are no flowers, there is a soft, enveloping musk and a shadow of amber. probably i'll bue full flacon for Summer)

MysticalArugula

Well Pucker me floral😚🌸! This is such a wonderful feminine tuberrose vanilla fragrance. This gives me, "hot chick in a brand new convertable" energy🚘✨️ Shes a bit powdery, but it its more cashmeran than old lady. This perfume has great sillage and hold on the skin, I think partly due to that agave. The agave and mandarin gives that juicy but strikingly green note. I unfortunately cannot detect the cedar, but the performance on this perfume is immaculate🙏

This smells like pure luxury.
Like you’re on a holiday in a nice 5 star hotel.

It’s very floral, but I don’t find it too feminine. It just smells clean and kind of spicy on my skin. Kind of a detergent vibe to it. Really unique fragrance, haven’t smelled anything like this before.

Do not blind buy this!! Test it out first, may not be everyones cup of tea.

Yassen.D135

the best from memo, so lovely and it's my most complemented perfume in my collection. this thing fells the room when i wear it and my family keep telling me you smell gorgeous

Highly recommend it

astralmonad870

Delicious flormand. FA Paris brand sells a great dupe of this.

Tuberose91

I Like memo marfa. But all the memo Fragrances starts very very sharp i hate the First 10 -20 Minuten of this fragrance too. Too green and very sharp but After that i love this fragrance …

Enrium

Marfa is a smooth, refined white floral scent, nothing unusual, but a high-quality example of its genre. Elegant and feminine, it exudes luxury but remains polite - a rich-yet-muted composition made with top-quality materials.

The creamy white floral bouquet that forms the crux of this scent is evident from initial spray, smooth and sweet. It opens with orange blossom, a note I'm growing increasingly tired of, given its ubiquity across modern mass-market feminine scents. Here, however, it is restrained instead of syrupy - an elevated example of its inclusion in perfume. It adds sweetness up top while paving the way to the bouquet at the heart of this scent.

A mellow, refined tuberose note follows, becoming increasingly prominent as this scent develops on my skin. Sweet and smooth, it is not a challenging iteration of tuberose, i.e. carnal/camphorous/meaty etc. It isn't too muted, but is polite. The ylang ylang follows, becoming dominant; its smooth, tropical sweetness a lovely addition here. It isn't cloying - instead it is wonderfully measured, a seamless development from the orange blossom's tropical sweetness of the opening.

As it dries down, vanilla keeps things sweet in the base. Dry and powdery rather than syrupy, it is deeply satisfying. Soft woods creep in, and it becomes increasingly musky as it fades without becoming animalic. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting. It is a feminine scent in my opinion, appropriate for year-round use. It is very versatile and easy-to-wear, and is well-blended.

While Marfa is a fairly simple scent that doesn't take any risks or break new ground, it is a high-quality, elevated version of similar scents - an improvement on a classic formula. Great bottle design too. Timeless feminine elegance by way of a sweet white floral bouquet. 4.5/5.

adeadeade

A smooth, creamy perfume that is both distant and sincere. This perfume has a soothing scent like the most enveloping form of tuberose. Normally I don't like the ylang ylang note, but in this perfume it blends very well with tuberose. I think it can be worn in all seasons and everywhere, I love this perfume very much.

InfirmièreParfumée

Marfa! Marfa! Marfa!
The scent that started my Memo Paris collection! One autumn day in an Anthropologie - I sprayed on my wrist and I shopped around. An hour or so later, I began to wonder where that nice scent was coming from, only to realize it was my wrist !
The scent remained all through the time I was shopping. It’s a fresh floral with not-so-girly vibes. I am not inclined to tuberose scents and was surprised to read that this floral was tuberose. Michael Kors has tuberose scents and I never loved them. Marfa is not one of those pretentious scents. It’s a passionate fragrance.

Age group : 30-55 , not recommended for wear to school or work (if you work in an office, no).
This scent stays on clothes longer than the skin.
The bottle is dark which helps preserve it! Majority of my perfumes are stored in their original boxes because of the clear glass. Marfa, is good on its own, kept in a cool dark room.

Vivid Laser Eye Gawd

I love this. As a man, this smells unisex. The white musk is prominent and the white florals makes this smell like an expensive hair conditioner or moisturizer. Memo Paris is my favorite fragrance house. I have 7 of their fragrances and love all 7.

ninalumi

The opening is not bad at all. Creamy florals, pleasant but nothing special. The drydown gives me a major cleaning products vibe and even some muffled cigarette scent. Like you walk into a hotel room where someone smoked before but they tried to scrub the scent away.

gabygauthier

Stunning fragrance, but it’s just not for me & doesn’t match my personality but if it did; it would probably be a staple. It gives wealthy; femme fatale; but also soft girl? It’s not a very polarizing scent but it’s strong & it smells expensive for sure

versmonesprit

This won’t be a true review, as I’ve only tested Marfa on a strip (a very good decision).

It’s been well over 12 hours, yet the strip still fills the room with an overwhelming tuberose. Not sure if the scent would’ve been more rounded on the skin, but I know I’ll never find out: The persistence and power of its smell — which has successfully triggered a migraine attack — makes me assume I’d have had to scrub and scratch this off myself to be able to breathe. If you’re lucky enough not to get headaches, this might be a selling point for you; though no promises everyone around you will appreciate it…

I know it’s unfair to criticise a perfume based on how it performs on paper (literally), but I’ve also never come across one that smelled only average on the strip and somehow magnificent on the skin. If it isn’t all that interesting on the strip, I doubt it will take on a completely unique profile on the skin.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice scent (dominated entirely by a creamy tuberose) but there’s nothing special that sets Marfa apart from all the other tuberose-heavy perfumes on the market. All the differences for me are negligible; if I didn’t suck at identifying perfumes on other people, I could tell you several equivalent ones I’ve smelled on the street living in a city where people gear towards much, much cheaper perfumes. You feel as if about to recall a memory when you inhale Marfa, but it’s really just all the other times you’ve caught a whiff of the exact same tuberose.

One word to describe its sensory and emotional impact would be “uninteresting”. It offers none of that thrill of perfumery, and so is more akin to designers than niche. The pricing for this particular bottle isn’t too outrageous in my opinion, but it’s definitely way overpriced for such a generic scent that does nothing out of the ordinary . . . which seems to be the gist of the entire brand, as I smelled multiple by them (including their bestsellers) and was shocked to discover that their take on the notes is no different than how deodorants interpret the likes of leather and spice.

ginandrice

Things this smells like:

- A conditioning hair mask. Like smooth white florals, lotion-y and protienous.

- A slightly overcast day at the beach: cozy beach blanket, smooth powdery driftwood, and watered-down virgin pina coladas from the slushy machine at the concession stand.

- Mugler Alien's more approachable, less intimidating sister. The vibes of the two fragrances are almost diametrically different—Alien is alluring, dominating, and synthetic, while Marfa is soft, sincere, and a little introverted—yet, the scents themselves are surprisingly similar, both centering dry, fuzzy wood, and smooth, plastic-y white florals.

Pez_Enelrio

it is a non sweet, woody white floral. feminine leaning. Lacks strength and depth for my taste in this fragrance profile.

Bordo

This is a nice, feminine white floral perfume. Quite rounded/almost creamy but fresh at the same time. Pretty unique on one hand but nothing striking on another. For me it is straight up too musky (like wet cloth) and performance is poor. However, I get the appeal, only it is not for me.

Devved

Gosh this is so good. Fresh, green tuberose. Sweet but not candy like, like fresh flowers. Great longevity and even after a couple of hours it still smells fresh and green. I see why this is much liked by everyone.

toosimilar

@PetyaK , spot on actually!!
You should suggest it as a similar fragrance!

PetyaK

Am I the only one who thinks Blanche bete is 90% this minus the milk note? 🥹

honeyedflora

This smells like a real housewife of Beverly Hills, it's as if the white flowers got botox and fillers and went tanning at the beach. I like it but it's too much! I can see the lip injections while smelling this perfume.

Perfect10Tara

This is like going to heaven and being asked to stay! Absolutely S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G! I got this as a sample in a free gift from Cult Beauty. It was love at first whiff and I immediately purchased a full size bottle. I was so excited! It's a beautiful tuberose with a beautiful leathery undertone and hints of tobacco that I really didn't pick up until I'd nearly finished my first bottle. This is definitely one of my all time favorites now. Definitely will be repurchased at some point. I just love it. Everyone around me loved it too. It's just so elegant and classy. I'm smitten! ❤️

toosimilar

My goodness, one more perfume compared to lots of unrelated perfumes

GreatGreyOwl

This was very different than what I expected. Very leathery with tobacco nuances. Tuberose and vanilla are also there. This has ok longevity but quite low projection. There is something addictive in the slightly dirty warmth of this. More suited to cold weather in my opinion.

Mae10

Smells like Narciso Ambree but more sweeter less fresh. I got them both as a sample they both smell so similar i think its the ylang ylang and the white flowers

shery k

You feel tuberose in a different way mix with orange and mandarin
And all these make you feel a sweet sour good scent
I like it this is one of my fave fragrance

myjebo2012

Whoa what a nice introduction. The beginning is reminiscent to BDK Tuberose and Isabey Gardenia if they mated then whala, Marfa Memo. That is the comparison I get a beautiful tuberose and orange blossom

anna32sverige

White-yellow floral, as 1000 others yet unique. Modern, i do like it, but dont think i gonna buy full bottle after i used my 5 ml sample. Lasts 5-6 h on the skin and days on clothes. Pleasant but way overpriced.

billycorna

LOOOVE the scent. At first I was walking by their pop-up store and a sales associate offered me three of their 1,5mL samples just by visiting their booth and OF COURSE I couldn't resist it. and by the way I ended up not only visiting the well-decorated booth for the vial but also tried almost everything I could grab. The saleswoman said the Marfa was their best-selling so yes I tried it on the skin. At first I wasn't very sure about liking it or not since it was an ordinary creamy white floral with a hint of citrus. Like, "okay miss basic" but then along the way when I re-sniff the wrist, LOOOVE the dry down. It actually blends well with my body chemistry. It was creamy, but not in a cloying way. Like a sweet floral. I could imagine a night Bali life (idk just my interpretation). This lasts well on my skin too.

At the end I received a bag of the promised vial (3 random scents), to my surprise Marfa WAS INCLUDED. So happy I could actually try it on fresh skin (after shower and not wearing anything prior, just the scent) and yes, Imma buy the full size for my birthday (BRB saving hardddd)

freshperfumer

Smells like the scent of the Paris metro for me, I know there stinks sometimes but also it has a jasmine-smell specific to Paris metros.. Loved it anyways.

fyre92

This smells EXACTLY like Silver Iris by Atelier cologne but with better strength and tuberose replacing the Iris. They must share the same base. The heliotrope, powder, vanilla and iced woods are all there. This one has more body though. This is sexy where that one is pretty.

astralmonad870

This is a unique, creamy, almost gourmand scent that lasts many stages. I am appreciating the vanilla-sandalwood drydown much more than the shampooey floral opening.

dommymichelle

OK I usually don't like tuberose at ALL. I love orange blossom, gardenia, jasmine... but tuberose makes me almost nauseous. Whatever they did with this tuberose, it works for me. This is soft and lovely, vanillic, with balance from the woody notes. I'm so happily surprised by this!

Arieeane

Nice smooth scent.

alphairone

As soon as I sprayed this the words "who is that lovely modern lady I smell?" spontaneously entered my head. Marfa feels destined for a heaving bosom that I just can't provide. It wears an 18 karat rose gold tennis bracelet with diamonds and watching the Real Housewives of [insert city here] is no guilty pleasure to this glimmering bangle of sweet tuberose and ylang ylang tooth decay bouquet.

Don't get me wrong, it's quite lovely in its own right, but I am so accustomed to my bubbling over narcotic florals to have a little bit of chypre or amber heft, which is usually what makes them more unisex. The captain of this Princess cruise line is vanilla, and she will have none of that funny stuff! It opens loud, brassy and sassy, but it simmers down into something that, while still sweet, is more prim and proper. It's great quality and balance, but it don't resonate with a lad like me.

Houdini4

To me, Marfa is a really lovely smelling perfume, but it's a pretty well trodden path and not one I'm all that interested in from a personal collectors point of view, if I'm honest. Sure, I will rock some of the most iconic 'womens' perfumes and not bat an eyelid but some femme tropes are even a bit much for me. This fragrance treads dangerously close to that ground.
Marfa is predominantly a chewy, gourmand, wooded, amber accord X 'Exotic' floral accord. Smash them together and you get this. I must say that the complexity and transistions in this perfume, scream superior quality and for this price they should.
The opening couple of hours was a little oppressive and Muglerish, the vanilla is caramelised and the tuberose hyper sweet but once you get past that and it mellows, it's a really lovely experience and I can't fault it. Fits in to the modern/classical aesthetic I think the brand is trying to foster.

AUyliong

Big blast of sweet ylang-ylang and tuberose immediately after spraying. There some vanilla in the background too giving the opening some creaminess. The white florals are ripe but never strays into indolic urine-like territory the way J'Adore 1999 and YSL Mon Paris does.

The vanilla has a nutty quality and takes over once the frag dries down. It smells like a the taste of a vanilla gelato I've tried before. There's a Pantene shampoo quality to the scent too.

Longevity is about 4-5 hrs on my skin.

Kyadakyada

The opening is a burst of bouquet of white floral. A wet flower drooping near the ground after the rain. It's not a clean scent for me, yet I love it. Reminds of our garden back in the Philippines right after a storm or a catholic church with piled flowers laid on the altar.

elledeelee

Stunning, almost peachy, warm vanilla over white florals. Very beautiful, elegant and addictive. Not nearly as long lasting as I would like though!

Thykes10

I am so sad about this one. On paper this was everything I wanted in a tuberose. On my skin, something strange happened.

On my skin, the opening is slightly powdery sweet. I weirdly don’t get much of the citrus on my skin. The opening is very powdery and almost musty? On paper I didn't get specific white florals but it’s a warm sweet floral that is right up my alley. But on my skin it took a solid 2 hours for me to detect any of the warm florals. And when they did, they were pretty heady and indolic- almost animalic. After 5 hours total, I can pick up on more of the base notes. I detect a vanilla musk with some wood/sandalwood. I liked it so much better on paper than on my skin…

Aleccsei

Tuberose Absolute...ly animalistic

from the first sniff, I was hit by a very powerful animalistic tuberose. Afterwards you can sense some ylang-ylang and guave, but the tuberose remains dominand.

It reminded me a lot of Fracas.

mrjohn12

The first time a tried this was on a card and it slammed me back into a memory of working at a tea shop, blending jasmine pearl green tea with white peach tea and sugar. I know those notes aren’t in this, but it smells exactly like that tea.

So much so that I revisited it on skin and was surprised by how green it was! I didn’t like it - or hate it, really - but I left the shop and the breeze picked up the scent around me. There it was again… I love it so much.

Christian Cantelli

At first, my nose is unable to distinguish the individual notes, but the first sensation is that of entering a florist's shop, a pungent effluvium of fresh flowers, the smell of chlorophyll evaporating from the stems, the water in which they are preserved; but it is not sweet, nauseating or excessive, rather elegant, very natural, spring-like, sunny, airy, thirst-quenching. Soon I felt the calming effect it had on me, the anxiety disappeared, the pace slowed down. After an hour, after two hours, the scent is very well projected: walking outdoors in the wind by the sea, amidst the puffs of salt spray from the waves crashing against the reef, I can clearly smell it around me and in the remarkable trail I leave behind. I recognise the fruity, exotic scent of ylang ylang that I love so much, the scent becomes sweeter, softer, like a cloud of fragrant petals rustling on my skin. The scent of smell becomes taste, a fruit lolly, mouth watering, while at the same time the phlegm it infuses creates a feeling of invincibility, lucid certainty, wise foresight. Could this be the 'eye of the tuberose' to which Memo refers? The opening of the doors of perception through this mystical scent? Who knows what other plants and cacti grow in the desert areas of northern Mexico... I know, but I won't say. Thanks for the journey, see you tomorrow.

Soundtrack: Man on the Silver Mountain by Rainbow.

Dawnya7b

The opening is so beautiful but it doesn’t last. It’s the very beautiful supreme bouquet juicy thick goopy ambery tuberose. It only last under 30 minutes then it’s literally the exact same as la Perla contemporary tuberose for the remainder of its long lasting life. I’ve been trying to declutter la Perla for months and it won’t sell. Glad I only got a sample of Marfa

anngelica

This is a beautiful modern interpretation of the tuberose and ylang-ylang duet, touched by citrus blossoms and fruit that go so well with yellow flowers. For me, personally, the tuberose is devoid of its seducing carnivorous here, but, all in all, Marfa is a safe option for those wishing to explore the subdued opulence of white and yellow flowers.
This is not the eye, but rather a caress of the tuberose.

lovetribe

the worst tuberose ever tasted. a cloying, nauseating sweetness that makes you want to vomit.

@adjn comments like this I would like to see more on fragrantica
Wearing it tomorrow haha

And saying that, I do like this perfume, reminds me of something I already have in my collection but I can't put my finger on it yet. Is it Alien or Rouge Malachite?

adjn

Marfa is the woman that other, younger women look at and say 'I want to be like her.'

She holds herself well, with the confidence and grace that the 20 year old us wishes we were more like. She goes from her work day straight over to a get together with her close girlfriends. She hails a cab, not caring how much it will cost.

Her hair is always perfect, even when the wind is blowing from her back.

And from the outside looking in everything seems so put together and ... well, is that what an adult is meant to be?

But, things that we don't know is that she was born into a rich family. She has always had money. She never had to struggle beyond a fly away, and as such, she's a bit uninteresting and boring. But you find it hard to find a reason to dislike her, as in the end, she's inoffensive and her favourite food is salad. You might hang out with her once a year to catch up.

hanounaaa

So beautiful.. so so beautiful

iuliagabriela

Sugared white florals and the creamiest and most feminine tuberose I have ever smelled. Something about it makes me think of little dragée favors wrapped in tulle pouches, that first bite into the delicious candy coating. I see the image of a beach at sunset, a beautiful woman in a white dress, warm skin and summer wind. I absolutely adore it.

Disturbedalchemy26

It's yucky to me. Doesn't smell like a perfume, rather a cleaning product with a hint of hairspray. Sorry, if you like it but I think after Moroccan leather, this is the next stinker on my list. why Memo? why? I'm trying SO HARD to like you!

Marta73

Oh, I love this opulent scent! Creamy, musky, seductive. For those who love heavier scents. Good longevity and projection. Yet quite pricey.

TunyaPe

Opening smells like stale cigarette on my skin. Unlike Jasmin et Cigarette or Givenchy Hot Couture, this cigarette is fairly unattractive. Then transforms into cheap mixed of those three florals. I feel like it’s aimed to imitate the undertone of Rouge Malachite — dense sweet (these) florals on woody musk base. I also remember I got this cloying waft of it from someone in the tube (I saw her overspraying that at Selfridges). Definitely a pass.

Most scents from Memo Paris (that aren’t from the Leather line) share that commercial/designer-ish style with an outrageous price compared to its quality. I’m not a fan..

marieberd

If God is a woman, and She walks the deserts of the Southwest by night, tickling the ocotillos with fragrant fingertips, breathing out warm breezes to open cactus flowers, this is the smell that wafts behind: it's Her shampoo. She got it at the flagship Neiman Marcus in the sky.

phoebe25

I got a small sample in my goodiebox this morning.

The longevity is enormous. I sprayed a little on my right hand right after I unpacked, and now, about 10 hours later I can still smell it. Mind you I have washed my hands through the day, and it has survived me cooking and doing the dishes by hand.

However it is not a perfume I´m gonna buy, and definitely not at that price. For that price I really need something spectacular, and this just don´t cut it. It´s not that it´s a bad scent, not at all, it´s just....I´ve smelled it before.

Kterhark

I get salty play dough from this. Yes the floral are present and it is an interesting scent but I can't shake the play dough vibe

arefuthescroob

Cosy, creamy sweet florals. Very lovely!

Adjr1087

This smells like soapy wood. I don't like it. I had this idea that this would be a creamy and fluffy feminine scent but it smells like a wood drawer with old soaps inside.

Bluetsprincess

Something about this smells nostalgic and I can't figure out for the life of me what it is. I'm a tuberose fiend and oddly enough I do not find much tuberose in this. Moreso Ylang Ylang and agave with a slight ashy quality. It's interesting and clean and minimalistic. I suppose thats exactly what Marfa, the small artists' haven in the desert, is all about. Very mid century modern in a bottle. I do like it a lot even though it's not as "edgy" as I was expecting. Would I buy a full bottle at Memo's insane prices? Probably not. But I am enjoying my decant nonetheless.

Edit: I've come around to deciding this is a LOVE. There is really nothing else like it. It smells like crisp dessert air and faint dewy flowers.

gandrasta

It's all musky white floral after all those dusty agave gone. It starts with green fresh to creamy floral to finally musky. Quiet unique but only for its initial development. Performance above average on my skin

Fragrance__reviewer

A fragrance with a predominant focus of tuberose . A cool, bitter, citrusy and somewhat green start. A heart with the scent of sweet and spicy tuberose. And a soft and creamy finish. Due to its modern and soft and creamy feeling, it has been able to attract the opinion of most consumers. On the other hand, the spread and longevity of this perfume added to its popularity. For my personal taste, it is a little sweeter than I like, and its high strength gives me a somewhat artificial feeling and headache. But overall, it is a stylish and up-to-date tuberose perfume .

neşeyusubova

It belongs to the category of perfumes that I call unique perfumes. Is it a very sexy perfume? Yes.
I love using it as a fan of tuberose and ylang-ylang.
It doesn't matter if the season is winter or summer, a nice dress or a scent that needs a suit. For some reason, when I spray this perfume, it makes me very happy. My self-confidence is coming back. Did you have a bad day? Never mind, strong woman, get up and keep walking with confidence. Press your heels on the ground so hard that you feel the world under your feet.

DuftHexe

Marfa is a very unique fragrance. It opens with a slight note of citrus/agave and then blasts of tuberose and ylang ylang. Nothing creamy and sweet about this bottle of juice. It is very long lasting, and turns more to the masculine sporty scent as woody notes combine with the agave. It has made me realize that I‘m not a fan of tuberose or ylang ylang. Not for me.

First blast of sweet ticklish saffron and florals...tuberose and ylang ylang, powder and vanilla. Very sweet, almost to the point of cloying. Smells exactly like my Galimard A Demi-Mot. After a minute it's mostlt one note sweetened ylang ylang. Nice but could be headache inducing after a while. Feminine and best for cool weather.

MademoiselleMaya

Picturesque. Agave, warm vanilla, hot wind carrying tuberose scent from Mexico, aromatic woods.
Fascinating scent, breath it in and you will smell a distant land.

silthrill

A sharp, solar tuberose balanced with the pungent green agave note. This is an extroverted fragrance. I see it on a loud and confident woman wearing a low cut maxi dress in the summer. It's not for me, but it's a very unique take on tuberose and I respect that. In proper Memo fashion it's beautifully blended and smells high quality. Not a safe blind buy. Not office safe either.

WoodsyLove

This hit me in the face like a 100 thousand tons of white/yellow flowers. A never ending cloying mix of ylang ylang, tuberose, orange blossom and vanilla until I was gagging. The dry down (which showed at least 6hrs later) was pleasant - really potent juice. I understand why it’s so popular, but definitely not for me.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

Please don't down-vote and delete my reviews again, whoever were the stupid and pathetic twits that did this... I have the right to have an opinion like anyone else.

Anyway, now that I've got that off of my chest, I wanted to say that this perfume was a bit of a dislike for me, since I found it too green, citrusy and sweet to my liking because of that agave note in there. I also felt like it was too woody for my liking and the white florals in this got slightly buried because of it. It's still a white floral to me, but only moderately so to me. I feel like the agave note, the cedar note and the white floral notes are all fighting for dominance in this perfume.

There's also something that reminds me of shampoo in here too? I will say this is unique though and it lasts a good amount of time on the skin. I just really wish the agave note and the cedar note weren't in here. People are right in saying it has a moderate resemblance to Vert Malachite by Armani Prive, but that one is much more sweet in a white floral way and not as woody, green or citrusy to me, which I prefer.

I'd give this perfume a 4 out of 10.

dajkm

Loved it... but after a couple of wears the smell reminded me of a hair cream I used as a child called 'pink lotion' lol

CzarSalad

Really pretty. For some reason as soon as I tested it, "Papa Was a Rodeo" by the Magnetic Fields popped into my head.

oli12rose15

I don't have anything like this and that is exciting. I have been afraid of tuberose because it is so polarizing, but I am now getting into scents that are a little less crowd-pleasing. When I first smelled this, I was unsure if I loved it so I sprayed it on skin and immediately loved it. It was strong but I loved it so much that I went crazy and sprayed it all over myself (maybe 8 sprays total) and gave myself a headache all day while at work. I know. It was just so good, I couldn't help myself. Anyway, lesson learned: how many sprays do you think you need? Spray half of that lol. But ugh it is BEAUTIFUL and sophisticated.

Xela_529

This was love at first scent, Idk how to describe it but it’s beachy, yet lush like a rainforest at the same time. Just lovely.

lmnsvgz

This is LOVELY!
I see the comparisson to Vert Malachite, but that one is a lot heavier, more indulgent.
For a white floral scent Marfa seems quite modern and a bit dry. The opening is a bit sharp due to the orange blossom. Then the drydown turns this into the most luxurious summer scent. Forget about Soleil Blanc and others - this smells expensive, this is a short summer dress and skinny heels with a designer bag. IN LOVE.

stella.cherie

I've had a travel spray of this since this fragrance was launched, and finally got around to testing it. I can't even / don't want to discern the notes, but why does this smell like so many other perfumes that I've tried? So generic and nothing special.

Zackariah12345

MARFA has a warm and spicy scent with a hint of sweetness. This fragrance has a musky and earthy aroma, with a subtle floral touch.

The presence of Benzyl Salicylate and Hydroxycitronellal gives a sweet and floral scent, while the inclusion of Coumarin and Cinnamyl Alcohol give MARFA a slightly spicy and warm aroma, with hints of cinnamon. Additionally, the presence of Farnesol and Geraniol, which are commonly found in flowers, gives a subtle floral touch to this fragrance.

However, the dominant notes in MARFA are the musky and earthy scents. The presence of Limonene and Linalool gives a fresh and lively scent, but it is overshadowed by the musky and earthy notes.

Overall, MARFA leans towards a unisex scent due to the combination of warm and spicy notes with a hint of sweetness and floral touch.

Blue_abood

We can say Fruity/Flowery with musk and I can smell citrus as well, its nice

kimjoline9

i really hate the beginning of this. the spiciness really smells like cigarettes to me... however the drydown is beautiful. to me it smells summery, like a suntan lotion.

jjluvsm9

Milky creamy tuberose and sandalwood…all very nice. But the greenness of the agave is throwing it all off for me, giving it a herbal facet which I really don’t enjoy. Gets better as it dries down but I don’t know if I can cope with the herbal medicine smell in the beginning. Definitely unisex. Mixed feelings.

Mother Nurgle

Memo is the queen of inoffensive pretty florals, but you only need one - if any. I got Flåm. This doesn’t even make it into my top five.

TunyaPe

Fruity floral with musk base, 'designer' blend.

Candied synthetic mixed florals that you get from L'Interdit Rouge or NR Musc Noir Rose mixed with synthetic musk similar to Narciso's. I do not get any natural balmy orange blossom, tuberose, or ylang ylang.
You could smell this DNA everywhere why would you pay £200+ for it?
(and no, it is not creamy -)

melimelo87

Amaazing creamy floral with green facets, I am guessing it's the agave note I am picking up like crazy. It balances the floral notes perfectly, grounding the fragrance somehow and not letting it be sickly sweet or too heady.
For me this is the best from the Memo line ( my next pick would be Sintra) and it has become one of my top floral frags.
I also love wearing it in winter, the perfect winter floral choice. Worth every penny. Lasts and projects and gets me compliments 🥰🥰🥰

WhiteFlowerPrincess

I don't know why I bought this perfume in the past... it just smells like a citrusy and green detergent with woody undertones! It's so strong and it's not nice at all. It's a scrubber for me.

hollandbri

Just got my hands on a full bottle. I love the exotic spin Memo has put on a classic Tuberose frag. Smells luxe and niche with the perfect amount of sweetness. I’m getting more of a tropical jungle (Nizuc) surrounded resort vs Marfa Texas but who cares about the name anyways lol. The opening is green like other reviewers are mentioning but it dries down to a sandalwood/fig/musk. Can’t wait to wear this more.

YuliaK

Nice mild tuberose perfume, but nothing special, especially if you are into niche perfumes. There are way better options for the price.

NoorbBelgium

It smells like vanilla marshmallow clouds carrying ethereal tuberose petals floating in a bowl of iced milk. There's a tiny bit of fresh white musk that smells like sunshine shining on crisp white clothing. Here, the tuberose is particularly noticeable. Although it is dewy and fresh, it intentionally avoids overwhelming you with its white floralness. A creamy vanilla-marshmallow harmony that harmonises beautifully with the heavy florals and white musk is also noteworthy. It is artistic, endearing, fashionable, quirky, and energetic. The duration and sillage go beyond everlasting. I adore this scent so much!

specialfairygirl

In my opinion it smells like a soap. Not bad, not good, just soapy, flowery, clean, unisex scent.

Julia P

A very modern, creamy tuberose. Smells green-ish in the opening (leaves/stems kind of situation), but dries down to a smooth, milky and exotic white floral scent.

RedLipsReview

Tuberose heavy opening, then settles close to the skin. Similar to Melodie de L'Amour by Dusita, though not as good. Looking at the quality and the price tags, I would just go with Dusita.
This version of white florally tuberose has been done on repeat over the years.

Edit: The florals turn bubblegummy in the drydown, this stage is definitely Supreme Bouquet ish. However still not tantalizing for a full bottle purchase....like Supreme Bouquet better!

pweedyadel

This is expensive and nice if you love white florals especially tuberose.

Scentfrommanna

I got a sample of this because I love tuberose perfumes, particularly Fracas, Truth or Dare, Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia and Carnal Flower. I was also keen to try something from this fragrance house as I’ve seen it mentioned on a lot of YouTube perfume videos.

This is a beautiful perfume, which just blends with your skin. It doesn’t feel overly “perfumey” or screechy, you just smell lovely. For anyone that likes more subtle scents this would be perfect. It is long lasting too, and has moderate projection, I wouldn’t say the tuberose stands out for me, but it is a beautifully blended white floral. I can’t imagine anyone disliking the smell of this or being offended by its projection.

The opening is quite smoky but fresh, I can’t describe it, but it’s very unique, however on my skin quite short-lived.

Sadly for me it is also quite reminiscent of a fabric softener I use, which smells lovely but isn’t something I’d necessarily want to spray on myself perfume wise.

I prefer my tuberose perfumes to be louder so I doubt I will purchase a full bottle of this, but a great introduction to the house of Memo for me and a different spin on tuberose to the ones I am used to and love.

liv_lively

Thanks to wondervalley for sharing a gem you found. Ive purchase the la perla frsgrance and cant wait for its arrival. VS very sexy oasis is in the same vain. Its the scent that was a gateway for me to find a high end tuberose love like i eventually found in marfa. I will always keep that one since its my turst tuberose scent ive oved . When they are on sale its a must to grab.

liv_lively

I have tried so many tuberose scents interdit, armani my way just to name two. I wanted to love those fragrances but couldnt handle the tuberose. I smelled oasis and fell in love. When i got home and looked up the notes I couldn't believe it had tuberose in it. I have been on the hunt for a tuberose very similar but high end and found another love in memo's marfa and narciso's ambree. Wow, all of these are magical. I think my tuberose sections is complete. i have been loving memo. i have tamarindo, as well. i didnt care for voduu with the oud notes but the brand as a whole I'm a fan of.

wondervalley666

For anyone who likes Marfa but is looking for something a little more “feminine/pretty/sweeter” without the green notes and that is a bit more affordable, I recommend checking out Contemporary Tuberose by La Perla. It’s very cheap on eBay right now, it’s a good quality fragrance, and it reminds me of Marfa more than any of the other several dozen tuberose scents I’ve bought and sampled in awhile. Might be too femme to be “unisex” and isn’t as quirky niche realistic as Marfa, but it’s predominantly a very similar sweet honey musky tuberose that whispers “Marfa” to me whenever I wear it and I believe fans of one may enjoy the other. I own both scents and while they are different enough that I’d never consider them dupes, I felt the urge to share with the other frag addicts what a hidden gem I found that they can grab at a price that frankly is dirt cheap for such quality. For the record, the retail price of Contemporary Tuberose was nearly $200, but it looks like it’s getting discontinued and retailers are liquidating their inventory. I paid $30 for my bottles.

Swizz

I wanted to love this but I can't handle the ylang-ylang. Usually not a fan of it anyway and here it comes out very synthetic on me. Pity, I love the first few minutes.

Watergod.De$$

caught me by surprise

Oooooommmmmgggggg amazing.... I love that it's a young fresh take on a fragrance that we have definitely smelt on our mother's Perfume tray(the white musk) so it has a comforting Familiar smell but then it's elevated and they've brought a youthful invigorating feel to it (the ylang ylang) I love it

And we cannot leave out the bubble gummy tuberose it's soooooo addictive.....it's so alluring and inviting I find myself just going over to the perfume tray to pick it up and smelled it at THE neck show beautiful

Not yet listed on Fragrantica but if you want and alternative before you invest in Marfa that smells 90% almost spot on and I tend to enjoy a bit more😉 try Yaqeen by Asdaaf and thank me later 😀

aishmiqru.1

Tuberose milk. Memo's Marfa is a subtly sweet, smile-inducing concoction. At first sniff, you get a soft, rounded milky note with a gentle floral smoothness to keep it from entering gourmand territory.

As the tuberose and ylang reveal themselves in the heart, you begin to get the illusion of stone fruit. A Tuberose milkshake becomes a soft watery peach that lingers throughout its development. I wonder whether I'm smelling peach or milk throughout the rest of its development, soft, pleasant, and round.

It's so likable, however, that I can't commit to it. I want something dry or bitter, something I can chew on while sipping my peach tuberose milkshake. Guiac wood or some patchouli would do wonders to give this fragrance more of a backbone.

The Last Don Diva

Also adding it was a complete blind buy. I assumed that since I liked about 6 of the "people who like this also like" that this one would fit in...

The Last Don Diva

Marfa commands a room she enters. The first encounter is slightly overwhelming...a bit too spicy. The sillage jars your memory, mistakenly making you think you know her. But after recalling correctly, you have never meet her before and you have a desire to become acquainted. Yet she intentionally pulls you in for a comforting embrace that leaves you pleasantly surprised. The only tragedy in this story, she does not stay until the end of the night. But then, you notice the scent lingers on an item of clothing, a leather bracelet/strap, or a wool scarf....lingering long enough until the next encounter. I thought she was off putting, but then I fell madly in love.

milkrock

On paper I like this, I like the notes I'm reading, too. I went back to smell it again. Sadly, once it was on me, I was smelling synthetic Play-Doh, 30 mins in, it gave me a nauseating, fancy car smell. I do smell the orange, it is blended with the sandalwood, syrupy, creamy. Sadly the mix is just not for me, must be the Ylang ylang. I want to scrub it off, but I'm waiting for it to be something I like. Unfortunately, it just sat on top of my skin.

rude_wasp

SO CREAMY!
I have a hard time findig perfumes for summer, they are all too citrusy-lemony, which I detest most of the time. This beauty is a tropical enveloping cloud of everything creamy and nice. At first it's more green, but that goes away after an hour or so, then it's just creamy sweetnes with a touch of spice.
Works best in high heat, but can be pretty in spring too!
The longevity and not being a boring lemon summer scent is worth the price for me. I won't have a problem going through my 75 ml bottle.

careebearr

Absolutely stunning. If I had to pick one word to describe this fragrance, it would be creamy. Luscious, creamy tuberose smoothed out even more with buttery ylang ylang and sweetened with agave and vanilla. I don't really detect any orange blossom. I get about 8 hours of longevity and 3-4 hours of moderate projection. I live in a hot, humid climate and I feel like it wears really well in the summer to be honest. It almost has a coconutty feel (though not necessarily in terms of a literal coconut note, but rather in terms of texture...like coconut cream). Easily my favorite from Memo.

Anastasia 1009

Oh God! This is very beautiful scent , i feel clean, milky, white flowers, soft tuberose. One of my favourite perfume !! Longevity and sillage 10/10.

MarylandBabe

Love this scent so much! It is such a great summer scent. The ylang gives it a touch of tropical, the agave sweetness, and the dry down is great as well. She is mature and graceful. (though unisex)

If this is what tuberose smells like, I must like it. It doesn't bother me in other perfumes with it listed.

Catmo

I love tuberose so I had to have this. I’m obsessed with BDK Tubereuse Imperial which is just so creamy and sweet and amazing. I thought this might be in the same vein- but nope!
This is super green due to the agave. I do smell the tuberose but the agave is just soooo strong and it just ruins the whole thing. It’s almost peppery and kinda sharp. Just too much for me and not the type of tuberose fragrance I want.

ckorp8

Bought this for my collection. Heard so much about how beautiful a tuberose perfume this is. Tried it and bam! I was punched in the face by the green bomb. Lasted for almost five minutes, that green thing is supposed to be agave from the pyramid. Nope didn’t enjoy that at all. The following scent was tuberose and it was nice enough. Rather like Vert Malachite. Personally I would choose the later to steer away from that green note I so hate. In fact the green note just softened up but stayed back for much longer. I’ve decided to dislike this.

After 12 hrs I still can smell the perfume vaguely off the sprayed spot on my clothing.

mandyads

Ughhhh. Oh, how I love tuberose. I'm not big on traditional florals, but I do love a good jasmine... a good rose... and a good tuberose! This fragrance is so well blended that it is very difficult to pick out the notes apart from the tuberose at center stage. If I try really hard, I can get a peak of the vanilla here... a splash of the orange blossom there... and then the sandalwood just creates this amazing, silky-smooth texture - so creamy! There is a slight Play-doh undertone, but not like in Dior Hypnotic Poison (which I adore)... just a reminiscent hint of it that comes from that smooth sandalwood mixed with the vanilla. Overall, I'm not sure if this fragrance is worth the price it is sold at... but I definitely want it in my collection.

wondervalley666

Wow, this is a really good one! I will write a longer review later, but upon opening I get green notes, woody notes, sweet florals. Tuberose for sure, though there's enough other fragrances to make it a complex and unique blend -- it is NOT just a pure simple tuberose scent. Very nice ylang - I've been very disappointed by the ylang in other frags I've sampled lately -- they all came off as sour, indolic, or musky. This ylang is fresh sweet flowers. This has a niche quality to it. It's quite beautiful. Wasn't really looking for another $100+ bottle, but this one snuck in.

I obsessively was sniffing, trying to figure out what this scent reminded me of. After 2 hrs I realized it-lady million by paco rabanne. It isn’t a dupe, but they both have similar smelling honey floral notes. I personally like Marfa more, but Lady Million is a nice alternative for evenings, going out, making a statement and is a stronger more classic “perfume-y” version of this.

Verrucosa

This might be my favourite tuberose right now. Tuberose can be very LOUD but this one is polite and blended beautifully with the other notes. It's a tuberose I can wear without overwhelming myself or others. It's a little bubblegum-y but not too much. But I say this as a fan of white flowers. If you're a tuberose hater, I think this is still worth a sample, but it might not be for you. As it dries down, the tuberose retreats and the base notes shine through.

Marfa managed to be both chic and down to earth, grounded, somehow. Feminine but earthy. It really blooms in warm weather and blends beautifully with my skin and creates a kind of "my skin but better" scent as it dries down. Is it corny to say it makes me feel like a desert flower? Well it does!

MarchHare

Right after spraying, this has a strange plasticy, play-doh quality to my nose. I have no idea what that's about...maybe the agave playing with the waxiness of the ylang and tuberose? Once that calms down, it settles into a soft, complex dream. It's not overtly floral to me. There's a fluffiness to it that I adore, and there's none of the sharpness that I usually associate with orange blossom notes. I'm from Georgia, and this smells like the heat of dead summer to me. It's so, so evocative of a time and place. It's masterful, really.

This is classic, but still interesting. Good option for a signature scent (if you can afford it) but sexy enough for a date. I couldn't see a teenager enjoying this, but I wouldn't call it a mature fragrance either. Marfa is a versatile one. 10/10

Rosemary14

Marfa smells good on paper but it needs skin to really bloom. The opening is green tuberose but after that the tropical ylang smooths that green flower down. It’s incredibly luxurious tuberose and honey. Like a dessert in a decadent expensive restaurant based in butter and honey. There is something slightly herbal like osmanthus but it’s not osmanthus. It must be the agave. I get no citrus. There’s also something tropical (ylang) and there’s a depth of vanilla and musky sandalwood. There is something a bit dry in the background like flowering plants in the desert. It’s so well blended it’s almost impossible to pick the notes apart. It reminds me a little of bdk tubereuse imperiale which I also own but it’s more rich.

I swear this perfume gets more and more beautiful the longer you wear it. It’s like it blends with your skin and almost enhances your natural scent. It’s so, so good.

Esna

Google María Felix sitting on bamboo chairs wearing an expensive straw hat, her iconic Cartier jewelry, her Chanel by her side and a western belt.

To me, it smells like a syrupy honey lavender gelato, if you have ever had one of those, they unexpectedly smell like fruit loops somehow, as if that marriage of nuances creates a total different one. I mean that in the most sophisticated way.

Also, think of a dark desert-esque Salvador Dalí painting with melting clocks.

The rich people from Marfa, their vibe is being rich but to not look rich at all, yet people can still tell they are rich. You can’t wear this perfume unless you have those same vibes, not money, just the vibes.

perfume_obsessed

Not long ago I attended an online masterclass for Memo Paris, not knowing anything about the brand, and of all the samples I received, Marfa was the one that really spoke to me. As soon as I smelled it it felt like home, which is not surprising considering I am a native Texan.

Marfa is a hard one to pin down because it doesn’t really smell like anything else. If you think, “I love tuberose (or jasmine, or orange blossom, etc.) so I think I’ll like this.”, think again. Marfa is very much a sum of its parts rather than a fragrance that elevates any one particular note so the resulting fragrance (for me, anyway) is more of a vibe than it is a perfume.

Even though I now live half a world away from Texas, Marfa takes me back to my roots. It makes me feel centered and comforted. I have the perfume, hand cream, body lotion and even the car freshener. I just can’t get enough of it. It’s not a mass appeal scent and I can’t see how it could ever be a lukewarm scent - you’ll either love Marfa with a passion or not at all.

Bashayersnose

mmmmmmmmmm. I had my nose stuck to my hands the whole time to sniff the beautiful scent of Marfa. Funny thing is that this kind of perfume combo is the complete opposite of what I like in perfumes. Thank you Memo Paris. This perfume was so well crafted it is difficult not to appreciate it.

I started with purchasing the hair mist before committing to the a full bottle. and I found myself spraying it all over me. After sampling the perfume on skin, I have noticed many differences between it and the hair mist. I smell a very honeyed citrus in the opening, as if the mandarin and oranges were in a bubble of honey surrounding it. It smelled thicker than agave, and wafts of vanilla came along, I don't know how I smelled it in the opening even though it is mentioned as a base note. I'm not a vanilla lover in perfume as it chokes me and lingers in my throat. But this, you have to WAIT it out a bit, it starts shedding the honey/agave layer just like a fancy fur coat being taken off at coat check, and the rest of the notes unfurl.I'm smelling my hands now an hour later and the dry down is magical. very sunny, I get the tuberose but barely any ylangylang, with a very faint musc in the background far far away.

The sweetness of honey and oranges mature into a more realistic woody nuance with some bitterness of the orange peel, very very slight orange sweetness remains as if its clinging to the peel, you know like orange remnants that are stuck to the peel.

It is highly complex, multi layered perfume that is not boring AT ALL. Especially after the sweetness dies down and reveals a more sophisticated layer. Very very enjoyable.

Projection 8/10
Sillage 8/10
Smell 9/10
Creativity 8.5/10

HeathHawthorne

Seeing yellow floral in the accord breakdown really hit the nail on the head for me, I'm not great at identifying floral notes as a male, but yellow floral is exactly what I smell conceptually. Mixed with something subtlety green, and some sweet vanilla musk. I would love to smell this on a woman but I live in the Midwest and that just isn't going to happen for me, unless I gift the rest of the sample to my mistress, and then I don't get the strange romantic surprise in the air from an unfamiliar women. First one I saw in my MEMO sampler so I tried it, off to a good start. I wouldn't reach for this as a man personally, but like I said a lovely aroma. Also wearable enough niche to be someone's signature.

barbara_ev

Tuberose is very bright, so be careful if you don't like it. It is fresh and green. This is a very green perfume, agave is the main one in this perfume.

petalkiss

this fragrance is incredibly dreamy and delicate and makes me feel sweet and cute.. I’m surrounded by an aura of carefree innocence and beauty. will be purchasing a full bottle soon!

Dramaloladiva

After reading all the many reviews, I decided to purchase a sample. It arrived today and I eagerly sprayed it on my hand and Oh. My. Goodness!
This is a burst of tropical sunshine, I am transported to the most pristine and sparkling beach where the water reflects the Sun so brightly it actually blinds you a little!
It smells like heaven on earth…
Now, I am not at all a fan of tuberose because most of the time, I find tuberose very overwhelming and too screechy (or metallic). Marfa has none of that, thank goodness, but it does smell green and the tuberose has a VERY BIG presence. However, it is blended in the most careful way so that it isn’t overwhelming…I am not sure how to explain it.
My advice is to sample it on YOUR skin. This is not a blind buy safe fragrance. I was definitely surprised by how much I love this one but I am super glad I sampled it first!

Longevity: it’s eternal so careful how much you spray…
Projection/Sillage: it’s a BEAST so careful how much you spray…
Price: yeah…it’s expensive, like all Memo Paris bottles…
Season: Personally, I’d wear this anytime with a slight emphasis in the Spring/Summer months but it’s Winter right now and I am dreaming of the beaches of the Maldives if you know what I mean…

It does slightly remind me of Vert Malachite by Armani Privé but Vert Malachite smells screechy and too green (pun intended) to me…I much prefer Marfa, it’s a smoother blend.

All in all, it is definitely full bottle worthy in my opinion but only AFTER having sampled it on my own skin…it’s one of those scents that can go very very wrong (and I’ve had that stuff happen to me far too many times, unfortunately).

emerson10

Cannot believe I've never reviewed Marfa; this was the first Memo Paris scent I fell in love with. It is happiness in a bottle -- just the most pleasant modern bright upbeat tuberose, yellow floral in a sort of candy sweet (slightly bubblegummy) way. My nose detects violet but I don't see it as a note.

What's weird is this. On blotter -- I just think it's a dream. One of my favorite scents to smell and enjoy. I bought a travel size bottle and I NEVER reach for it. On my skin, it's a little overpowering; I feel like it kind of wears me and not the other way around.

This is a scent I enjoy but don't wear? Is that weird?

perfumewave

It's fresh and green. I smell the tuberose just right after I spray this but I think it's more prominent in the drydown with vanilla and sandalwood. Agave in here is too green/herbal for me but I still like it.

nebbe

It is pretty. I am not a big white flowers fan and the vanilla is a bit sweeter than I usually like. I like it though, and can see how someone could absolutely love it.
I do like Mugler Alien, and this gives me Alien vibes with something else going on in the background. Probably the vanilla and sandalwood.
Great scent but not one I strongly connect with.

Elle's Bells

Marfa, oh, Marfa, how do I love thee? You know when a fragrance is damn good when you test it and turn around purchase a full bottle within 24 hours. That's what I did with Marfa! The way this scent connects with my body chemistry is out of this world. It's definately not a sillage monster, but you and others will know it's there. Beautiful. I am THAT woman when I wear Marfa. I want everything from this house in this scent! It's my new signature scent 💗

Stampinator

I think this might be my favourite so far out of the Memo line. Very bright and juicy but also creamy and airy with a touch of sweetness. It's very well blended. I find it very uplifting and refreshing not sticky and sickly sweet - just the right amount of sweet. I've worn FM Carnal Flower for years but think I prefer Marfa because I find it brighter and less intense. Very nice.

Update: I really like it but I find FM Carnal Flower to be my Tuberose frag of choice... This one is lovely but when I revisited CF I just couldn't get past it. Still one of my favourites from the Memo Paris range.

Kaylovely

This is stunning! So creamy, airy sweetness. White floral background as it drys down. Very light, I would say tropics weather on vacation. This would then become beast mode in the heat IMO. I have Sintra so unsure about this as I want Ilha as well... mmh If I do order it will be from Nose Paris as always!

yeah__books

Too sweet for me. I like how it starts but it progresses into something sweet and a bit cloying. I prefer Sintra, which is a little less sweet and has the slight edge in the drydown. Not a fan.

Jkr111

Thank god this was part of the discovery set or I’d never have tried it. I never like tuberose in perfume and would have dismissed it on that basis. But this is such a beautiful balance, a juicy, citrusy, sweet-but-fresh delight. Amazing! Have bought a full bottle. Lasts really well too.

sakrosankt

This fragrance embodies the hip swing of a hula dancer in Hawaii. Creamy, slightly sweet tuberose accompanied by a hint of green (similar to the green in Inlé from Memo).

Has a vacation vibe like Sunshine from Amouage, but greener, lighter and less sweet.

goodboy

this smells soooooooo feminime.. but i bought it as a man :) this is HEAVEN IN A BOTTLE. it is so beautiful, i cannot stop smelling it. it makes me fresh, sweet flowery notes that smells so expensive. dont spray too much because can make someone nause of it sweetness

Initially a classy tuberose (not too sweet, bubblegum-like) which is tolerable for someone like me, who's not a big fan of the flower (or it's dominance). Half an hour later it loses the oomph and turns into something very different and odd, tuberose is lost, and all I get is musk with a dash greens, and woodsy notes, which to me is unappealing.

The initial spray smells like the podcast 'Welcome to Nightvale'. I had never heard of the place Marfa before this perfume but apparently it's the exact same vibe as the podcast - desert town, mysterious, conspiracy.
Generally this smells like a slightly dark and mysterious white floral perfume. It gets lighter over time and the dry down is vanilla. The projection is good and it lasts around 8 hours on my skin.

curieuse

Sweet and potent! A bit like a giant, golden, sweet, heavy fog landing on you slowly and sucking you in, if that makes sense. Or a bit like drowning in very expensive honey. Or maybe a bit like falling into sleep under a huuuge blanket made of white flowers and having a half-sleep half-nightmare. Definitely more fitting to colder weather, and most people will associate the scent with female. Probably fits very well to Chanel tweed.

GloriaFlo

I fell in love with Marfa 3 years ago and couldn't stop thinking about it, so I ordered a full bottle last November. It is just so uplifting scent. I will definitely have to buy a second bottle, as the one I have has sang its song. And what a song it was! Great performance on me, silage is excellent, projection moderate, longevity 7-8 hours on skin, on clothes even more. I prefer to use it in warmer and hot months, especially in the summer as that is when it really blooms and projects the most. Love it then, now and forever! Downside is only the price tag.

Arber Cami

Definitely a womens scent. Its pleasant and sweet, I like it. Has a little bit of a cream, sunscreen smell to it mixed with sweet flowers.

scissorhandedly

Oh my. I think it's the agave. It actually gives me nausea. It's a shame because the tuberose in this is actually very nice (similar to the one in Carnal Flower) and the other notes overall are not bad at all, the sillage and lasting power are also great, but still. Yikes.

rrruples

update: after second day of wearing, noticed that dry down smells like vanilla tapioca pudding lol

heady white florals for several minutes. dries down and rest of notes emerge. very fun and love the experience when wearing it. was worried it would age me, but complex enough to match.

Ferra_Verto

Supreme Bouquet on extra sweet steroids, I love it! Heady white flowers with an intense ylang, all made wearably fresh by the agave. The vanilla and sandalwood provide grounding balance. Very beautiful, perfect all year round, though I genuinely prefer in spring & autumn. Beastly sillage (major scent trail), very long-lasting, really sits on, over, and around you. Definitely worth purchasing.

Ding950524

Masterpiece scent. Gorgeous white flowers, enormous silage and lasting power. It worths every penny I spent!

Paprika

Mature. Sunscreen. Soap.

I was so looking forward to buy this perfume, i read so many raving reviews and was super disappointed when Marfa arrived and i sprayed it on my forearm - there were no orange blossom or vanilla for me... immediately smelled my aunt's perfume she used in her 70s called " Red Moscow" - atomic mixture of something very pungent and some dying tuberose.... but after 5 minutes i also smelled beet juice, I know its crazy but my forearm smelled exactly like fresh beet juice. Oh well, its definitely very mature and heavy smell for me but the only good thing its longevity - i needed to use soapy water to remove it from my skin. Absolutely no go for me....

This is a fairly new discovery for me and one of the first I’ve tried from Memo. I have never smelled anything quite like this before and was actually speechless when I tried it at the counter. It’s so good and I adore it.

Marfa is a tuberose & orange blossom fragrance with vanilla and sandalwood. It has this dusty quality; there's something green in the opening that's a bit strange which actually makes me love it even more. I can see how it may be too strong for some, but this is how I like my white florals. It's not one of those natural, straight-forward tuberoses like Carnal Flower (which is beautiful but not for me.) This blossoms in the summer heat and I just can't get over it. I feel self-assured and feminine when I wear this. It’s a rich, balanced and incredibly well formulated fragrance.

I was told that one must be a tuberose lover in order to like this but I dislike most tuberose perfumes and never loved any until I discovered Marfa. I love everything about it from start to finish--including the inspiration behind it.

psychosaki

I really wanted to love this one, but it’s a real scrubber for me. Way too sweet, if not a little tacky-smelling. Performance was impressive though.

If you like your white florals heady, loud and girly, you might like this. I prefer more subtle fragrances so this was not for me. HoM’s Forbidden, DS’ White Peacock Lily are the ones that did the job.

Do not make the same mistake I did and TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!!

aczwy

tried this in the hopes that it would be the one floral i like (they usually do not agree with my nose), and it is very pleasant but not something i see myself wearing !!

Memo is my new discovery of niche houses. I like their ethnic inspirations and bold formulas. But i have to warn you that they can really produce spesific fragrances that would be love or hate for most people. Marfa is a fragrance you should test before you buy.

As a guy, i enjoy unisex fragrances that especially use florals and woods. Upon seeing the notes, i was quick to test Marfa. Orange blossom, tuberose, agave, vanilla, sandalwood, cedar wow! And some of them are in their natural oil state.

Is this unisex at all?

Marfa opens up with sweet orange blossom, freshness of orange blossom is fully negated by sweet undertones resembling tuberose in a fine way. As you take your first sniffs, you are %100000 percent sure that this a Feminine fragrance. Something DG, dior, ysl would produce. Floral, floral, floral. Seductive and feminine!

You can detect mid notes one by one, tuberose and ylang produce a tropical yellow floral vibe which agave joins to extend the sweet floral smell. Agave does add a slight hint of a greenish vibe but dominated by florals. Mid notes are again as feminine as top notes.

As i expected, drydown is dominated by vanilla. Vanilla absorbs all others creating a vanillic-woody-sweet and floral smell. Drydown is the least feminine stage but still ultra feminine for me.

I am overwhelmed by tuberose and ylang-ylang. This fragrance is heady and lush in a very bold way. Also it lacks originality, i have smelled the core of this fragrance so many times before.

Marfa could be the least unisex fragrance on the market today. Its a feminine tuberose and ylang bomb that would be fancied by tropical yellow floral lovers only. Shame on Marfa’s marketing lol.

zind

I didn't expect much from this, I just bought a sample with an order. I am very impressed with the few memo scents I've tried so far, most of them are very natural smelling and lovely. Marfa is probably the least natural of the ones I received due to the high dose of musk, but it so creamy and beautiful.

Sometimes I smell something coconutty, but I bet it's the ylang that gives a slight beachy feel. I get nothing sharp whatsoever, but judging from the reviews that sharpness might show it's face in colder weather. I love the heart and opening the most, the musk is very prominent on my skin during drydown. I think the ylang - tuberose - orange flower combo is great. The tuberose seems to stay around the longest, but Marfa is not at all as tuberose heavy as I expected!

Such a clean and feminine scent (but lovely on a man too, I'm sure). It might not be exciting, but it's very, very beautiful.

Extremely expensive, but I am considering a puchase now that I found an opened but unused bottle at 50% off. How can I resist? 🙈

Update: received a compliment both times I wore my tester. Projection is fantastic, wouldn't have guessed by how it wears (creamy, soft). My sister thought it smelled a bit like laundry detergent and I agree, very clean smell. Still love it and bought the bottle!

caglaterzi

It is the most original fragrance I have ever smelled in my life. The smell of gum under a fresh feeling enchanted me. I think it is a perfume that can be used very well in both summer and winter.

dearaari

I’m so confused reading the reviews. There’s so many comparisons to perfumes that are nothing alike to Marfa. I got this sample today and immediately placed it as a orange blossom dominant scent. The tart mandarin plays beautifully with vanilla and sandalwood in the dry down. I will say tho, I have smelt this twenty odd years ago on a rich Aunty of mine. It’s gorgeous but def a perfume that’s for an occasion. I will be annoying tho and add to the pile of “this smells like xyz” and tell you that I’m surprised no one has compared it to Elie Saab GON. Very similar notes and vibe with GON being more obnoxiously sweet. Same orange blossom profile for sure.

Emma92

I really like this, it is a happy scent! Nothing hugely original for me but well blended and very joyful. If it was cheaper I would definitely buy it. One of my favourites from Memo.

kwanpekyee.1

A truly beautiful beautiful perfume that screams joy from start to finish!
An uplifting..mischievous ..elegant and delicious scent
Few so happy wearing it..:)

OmarAladdin

On my second bottle. 5 years of this and I am never bored.
To me, it's the finest tuberose scent.
Leans feminine? Who cares?!!!

MissAnnette

I agree to the reviews that says Marfa smells similar to YSL supreme bouquet, but Marfa has an extra sickly sweet bubblegum note. It’s like YSL supreme bouquet mixed with Mancera Velvet Vanilla.

oncebitten

I hate how much I love this. For the first half hour, I was convinced I had smelled this before, or something so remarkably close to it that I could take a pass on adding it to my ever-expanding collection. Creamy tuberose and ylang ylang fragrances are something I already have in abundance, and do I really need something that smells so similar to things I already own, especially at this price?

Unfortunately, right around the moment I had decided that no, I don't need it, the sandalwood and cedar showed up and said 'oh yes, yes you do.' These are two notes that absolutely sing on my skin, they are utterly addictive to me, and I love the way they are blended in here. This perfume manages to deliver a profile that is green, creamy, and woodsy in the most refreshing and comforting way (at least to my nose.) There's a hint of something marshmallowy underneath but I hesitate to call this sweet, because it really doesn't feel sweet to me, it's just the faintest whiff.

I love it, I must have it, and I hate myself for it.

Widlar

Surprised to not see leather in the notes.

nikath

Marfa is somewhat a polarizing fragrance to me. It is sweet, tropical, creamy and luxurious while at the same time being a very bold, loud kind of floral. Orange blossom, tuberose, ylang ylang and vanilla are all very prominent on a less detectable musky, woody base. The quality of this fragrance is amazing. It smells expensive and performs well both in terms of projection and longevity. Spray lightly or neither you or the ones around you will enjoy the scent.

hsiangchi.huang

A sweet, pleasant, lovely scent!

I tried Marfa, Inle, and Lalibela; this is my FAV out of the three. Definitely more on the refreshing-sweet-floral side than citrusy. The most noticeable notes are Orange Blossom (with a tad of orange), Ylang-Ylang, and Tuberose (quite different than the tuberose in Do Son by Diptyque). It's refreshing orange blossom at first, and as it dries down, you get the sweet but not cloying vanilla.

Think of "summer", "green", "garden", "fresh", "clean"... floral yet not overly girly.

I can see this as crowd pleasing... but not unique enough.

Anabol2336

This one is a drop dead gorgeous solar floral. Has an intoxicating tropical smell to it that makes me melt when I smell it on my wife. Very noticeable orange blossoms and tuberose which make it smell so luxurious and expensive. I could swear I I gardenias as well even though not listed..Performance on her is apparently amazing because she went to sleep wearing it and woke up 10-12 hours later and it's still projecting in our bedroom. Smells great in a heated 80 degree bedroom.

Annata

I think this is a good perfume, but very expensive. It smells good and I can smell the orange blossom all day. This time I’m thinking to go with Marfa hair mist, it’s much cheaper than perfume.

brumbarche

I like the chewy tuberose here (+ ylang ylang), but sadly, the rest of the fragrance amounts to YSL Supreme Bouquet. Marfa is waaaaay better, although it opens too in the same dated fashion. I have Amarige too. It steps into chypre territory, aspects of which you do find in Marfa, but you can find them in even closer resemblance in Cobra Jeanne Arthes (an 80's perfume, some of you may be familiar with it). So ... all in all Marfa to me is Supreme Bouquet YSL + Cobra Jeanne Arthes, but better quality and more wearable.

anncka

I am a huge orange blossom enthusiast.. however Marfa just kind of left me hanging somewhere in a strange limbo.. I think it is a lovely bright and fresh scent in the opening, about 30 minutes after the initial opening it settles a bit with some lovely, rounded vanilla. It is nice and pretty but to me it lacks a little something. That something that makes you go Ahhhhh, that makes you fly away to your happy place, that je ne sais quoi feeling. I will spray my sample whenever I will feel like grabbing something fun and pretty, but this fragrance will not make the cut unfortunately. Maybe her sister Sintra will do the trick for me :)

Aland2020

An impeccably blended, white floral-centric fragrance. I barely get any other notes than the tuberose + ylang ylang. It's quite creamy, I wouldn't say that I get any citruses or orange blossom so to speak, and if there is vanilla, it's so lightly present that it doesn't create any gourmand or unnatural sweetness, like Amouage's Love Tuberose for instance. This one is much more natural smelling, but unfortunately the realism of true flowers in fragrance form doesn't really wow or excite me like it does for others. If I wanted to smell only flowers, I'd hold my face up to a bouquet. I want there to be 'something' else to my florals. Some sweetness, some punchy greens like moss or the mixed stems of a bouquet, or even some creamy woods or musk. None of that is to be found here, so it's just a pleasant like. If you know you enjoy tuberose, this is a safe buy for you, and you may even fall madly in love if realism is what you're after. I find that with age, I begin to admire and seek after the more abstract in concept. I'll be getting rid of this one from my collection, but not because it's a bad scent by any means. In fact, it's almost "too nice" for me.

Edit: In the late stages of the drydown, I do detect the vanilla more strongly, it still does not overpower the flowers overall, just sits there adding the sweetness I thought was missing. If you like sweet white florals that don't go entirely into the direction of gourmand, check this one out. I do still recommend it, it's just not my thing, and I'm getting a little overwhelmed with my wardrobe size so I'm cutting out the ones that don't stand out. This one just doesn't stand out to me, but it is worth a try to see if you feel differently. The quality is certainly there. A very strong like, just not a love. And I have too many white florals that I do love.

As some reviewers have said just before me, Memo Marfa strongly reminds me of Givenchy Amarige.

I wore Amarige as my signature scent from about 1997-2004. Amarige is a BOLD tuberose/mimosa floriental. I still love it but could never wear it these days because people are all kinds of offended by powerful fragrances! Luca Turin also wrote a famously terrible review of it (which honestly just adds to Amarige's charm, that Turin had to take the time to be an ass about Amarige).

Anyway, Marfa is a similarly bold floriental with lots of tuberose and spices. I would say it's much drier and spicier than Amarige. It's also less profuse and I do think it's definitely wearable in the 2020's as long as you only apply 2 or 3 sprays maximum. I bought a bottle a few years ago and wear it during the autumn and winter months.

Bottom line: Marfa is a gorgeously spicy oriental with heavy focus on facets of tuberose and orange blossom. For those who like both orientals and tuberose/orange blossom this is a must try. It's really quite beautiful.

MrsBellatrice

This reminds me so much of Givenchy's Amarige. Mainly because it's a tuberose BOMB.
Sampling Marfa is such a testament to the memory that scent carries, it instantly transported me to our neighbor's house who used to douse herself in Amarige. She was a very sophisticated lady, classy and one of the few surviving members of old aristocracy in my country.
For me, however, the scent is a bit too intense. The top notes are just overpowering. Wearing it out would be like trying on a dress that I can't pull off.

cedriceccentric

"Chewing gum Tuberose" and I mean this in the most positive way. Really!

denisa_iv

I like other white flowers or perfumes focused on gardenia/tuberose and I find some of them are easy to wear, pleasant and can be quite lightweight. This is not the case though, the tuberose note here is quite heavy, loud, and it makes me agree with people describing this as "flower bomb". Not for everyone, but surely for some it might seem great, it's not a bad perfume. It's sweet, it has complexity and depth and overall it feels good quality, imo. Applied very lightly and in the right weather it can be pleasant and interesting.

For me though, it's too much. It actually reminds me of Crystal Noir from Versace, which I really dislike. It's gardenia there (but tuberose/gardenia can be somewhat similar in fragrances) and as far as I remember that one is more spicy. In the end though, they're both sweet, heavy, Crystal Noir has coconut, Marfa also has a tropical feel to it too.. it makes me relate these two fragrances in my mind, to the detriment of this perfume.

tukamark

Marfa is glorious. Orange flowers and mandarine notes strengthen the top, making this a must and an irresistible addition to anyone who loves sparkly fruity top notes. This makes this fragrance perfect for the warmer summer months.
In the middle and base, white florals and subtle sandalwood and musk comes to play which gives this a wonderful drydown.

Slowly the fruitiness calms down, leaving just a faint sweetness behind, and the florals come to the surface.
Tuberose, ylang-ylang mixes with the richness of fruits, and I think Memo does a wonderful and masterful job of creating magic with fruits and florals.

humairum

Post edited as I am finding it harder and harder to wear it and now my nose simply can’t tolerate that sharp accord.

This is an Intense tuberose.

I have never owned a white floral and don’t like them generally but this is the first one that got me convinced after having it on my wrist and walking around in the store for a while.

However there is a sharp off putting note in there, perhaps the Agava accord. I feel like if there was less of that and a bit more sweetness/woodiness it would be more balanced a composition.

I really dislike it now unfortunately and regret my purchase, it is sooo pricey, I always layer it with a sweeter fragrance to make it work in some way, still having a hard time.

Sorry Memo, for me this isn’t working :(

SalvaDal

I am a tuberose lover, and if i should pick the perfect tuberose, it wouldn't be carnal flower or fracas.. it would be Marfa, it was love from the first sniff i have hesitate before purchasing it because of the price tag. But the quality of the juice, the big sillage, it's thickness makes it worth. I've already find out that i appreciate tuberose-ylang combo.. but the addition of the orange blossom and the vanilla brought some magic to this beautiful juice.

Bubbles1964

Tuberose is center stage here, but there’s also something sharp which I’m thinking is either the musk note or the agave—I’m not familiar with the latter. This scent profile is alive on my skin through the opening and into the drydown.

I like Marfa but I’m not in love. Very pretty but also predictable. I pick up the same cherry pipe tobacco note in the base that others have commented about.

Lastly, I love the way the artwork looks in photos, but I don’t like the bottle in person.

I know some may scoff at the dislike of bottle aesthetics (I feel this about all Memo’s even though I own Lalibela), but it always plays a part in my total experience. The heavy metal label with sharp edges detracts from the refined juice. Plus this piece of metal is sized too big for the bottle. Instead of the artwork enhancing, its simply distracting.

Kots_Tanya

This is more intense version of a Supreme Bouquet by YSL.

LadyIva

Marfa is a beautiful fragrance, firmly aimed at lovers of sweet-tropical tuberose scents. It doesn't develop much: throughout its skin life, the strongest notes are tuberose, ylang-ylang and vanilla. Thankfully orange blossom is not so prominent (me and OB don't get along), and I can't really comment on the agave, because I have no idea how it's supposed to smell like! Anyway, If you happen to love Robert Piquet Fracas, Madonna Truth or Dare, Guerlain Mahora, Balint Perfumes Balifleur and such, then Marfa is you new best buddy. I have also noticed Marfa's similarity with Hermes Twilly - just imagine if orange blossom were toned down in Twilly and replaced with sugary vanilla, and basically that's Marfa!
As to gender tags, I would never classify Marfa as unisex - to me it's purely feminine. People have been complaining about its exorbitant price, and yes, it's expensive - but at least it's very strong and long lasting, so a little goes a long way.

Michelle12345678

Spends hours smelling like white and yellow flowers. It's quite strong. After about 6 hours it fades to a kind of non-sweet cherry smell.

It's not my thing, but I can see why people would like it.

Long-lasting.

GioiaG

Today this reminds me of my of the smell of my grandpa’s cherry pipe tobacco warmed by the sun in his truck. Not a smokey smell, just the fruity tobacco. The smell seems to change based on the atmosphere. It is fruity, floral and warm with woods but no spice, and a powdery softness underneath. Very nicely balanced throughout the longevity. Not too heavy or overbearing for others, but more noticeable and long lasting than a skin scent. Can be worn both day or night.

I’m a 40-year old woman in Wisconsin USA- my family loves this on me. We bought it in Doha, Qatar for 950 Riyal (about $250 USD)

boutique1

It has thick white floral notes mixed with some of sweet fruits. It's not quite exact because I tested only its drydown on a paper, but anyway I sensed like that somehow. Surprising that it's classified as unisex, cause I got very feminine impression from it.

HOUSTONHOUSTON

In my opinion, very similar to Manifesto Le Perfume YSL. I do not see it on a guy.

SailorV

There is a weird opening note in Marfa that I can‘t quite place. Is it earthy, bitter or green? It‘s unlike any other perfume. Maybe it‘s an aspect of the agave note, or it‘s supposed to evoke the dessert sand. But it moves to the background in 15 minutes or less, so I don‘t want to overanalyze it.
Afterwards a hypnotizing tuberose unfolds, accompanied by breezy ylang-ylang and vanilla. There is an interesting fruity accord in Marfa, which does remind me of agave syrup. I have never seen/smelled anything agave-related except for syrup and tequila (and I secretly doubt tequila is made from a plant growing on earth, according to my experiences it might as well be brewed in hell), so don‘t take my word for it.

Marfa smells exotic without the cliché coconut or fruit cocktail notes. The combination of the classic vanilla and white floral with the strange sandy note and the agave syrup is quite innovative to my nose. It‘s fresh and airy, but forms an alluring aura around you at the same time. It smells of summer and warmth.
Super-expensive for my budget, and I’m not sure what to make of the first blast, but otherwise a stunning fragrance.

nataliabaraonda

The people on here who say this scent has nothing to do with the dessert, have obviously never been to Marfa. Marfa exudes mystery, due to the mystery paranormal lights and being a small town in the middle of nowhere. Marfa shines bright, the star filled night sky there is the best! Filled with art and sophisticated gastronomy, this scent reminds me of having a creamy spiked Mexican gourmet raspado in the upscale Capri bar surrounded with tuberose and agave plants. Marfa isn't your ordinary dessert border town and this scent is beautiful and smells expensive and lasts all day. I'm so glad it doesn't smell like tumbleweeds and that it's not too green...I was surprised it has just the right touch of sweetness and that is what Marfa Memo reminded me of.

Strange: I recently topped this parfume with a spritz of Atelier Cologne Mandarine Glaciale and oddly enough I started smelling like fruit loops... but in a good way...like a rich woman eating fruit loops in her beautiful dessert castle oasis. Maybe it's my ph, strange but still lovely... there is no way this parfume could ever smell cheap.

nottheaverageidiot

I've owned Marfa for nearly a year.
We've had some ups and downs, therefore I have witheld my review until I felt I could properly do her justice.

I tried Marfa for the first time during summer. Love at first sniff! While unpleasantly sharp and green for a few minutes, the following sweet, airy tuberose was heaven, addictive even.

Then came winter. A LITTLE sharpness kept Marfa pleasantly fresh, but suddenly, green and sharp was all I could smell (the agave accord?). I fell out of love.

As it is wont to do, spring has returned. And as I suspected, I like Marfa better when rising temperatures allow its sweet blossoms to open properly. For this reason, Marfa is the only perfume I spray directly on warm skin.

Interestigly, Marfa is not a loud fragrance, i.e. does not project much. But, but, BUT. It leaves a very solid, discreet trace, guys! It tastefully lingers. In a way, I suppose Marfa finally let me experience the difference between projection and sillage...

Edit: I feel like I should add that I don't find Marfa even remotely similar to "Addictive Vibration" (sticky honey sweetness and apple blossom)...

rschmidt65

Tuberose is the Christina Hendricks of flowers, indisputably gorgeous but still too zaftig to ever quite satisfy the arbiters of chic. So what's an uber refined house like Memo Paris to do? The answer involves slimming the tuberose note down and surrounding it with aromachemicals that suck the moisture out of the composition, giving it a sense of almost incense-y austerity. Truth or Dare tried a similar approach to tuberose without ever approaching the dry severity of this composition.
So, does it work? I'm not sure. I love dry fragrances and yet I'm never quite convinced by this one. Sometimes it seems like tender, sweet tuberose has been trapped in a prison and starved by aromachemical monsters. The dry quality sticks out a bit too much and when first sprayed whatever aromachemical it's composed of felt unpleasant in my nose.
Still, it's a polished, unique fragrance and for those unbothered by aromachemicals it might be convincing.

trabuquera

VERY LOUD tuberose - full-diva projection level - quietening down to classy white flowers after a while; a bit too shoutily feminine for all-around comfort, but beautifully finished, with all the other grace notes making things plumper and rounder and dewier in all the right places. Bizarrely, for me, the opening takes me straight to childhood holidays and the smell of Piz Buin sun lotion - something in the floral mix seems to veer nearly into coconut-and-lanolin territory, though in a very organic and oddly beautiful way. Far, far, far sweeter than I usually like, but its quality does shine through. Especially at the end where the vanilla rounds things out even more, in a dark and adult, un-sickly costume.

However, for the alarming prices Memo charge, I'm not sure this is far enough ahead of the rest of its floral/tuberose competitors to quite earn its keep. Very glad I tried it, happy to wear out the sampler (especially on spring-summer days when something joyful and lushly girly is called for), but this one won't trigger a full-bottle hunt for me.

demhayerawsah

This perfume reminds me of candied fruit - not the kind you would get on a plate in a castle in medieval Florence, but the cheap kind you get at a carnival.

I echo the sentiments of others who like how it smells in the bottle but don't like the way it sits on the skin. Or rather the way it doesn't sit on the skin. Unfortunately this perfume disappears all too quickly.
Having said that, even in the bottle, it was pleasant and sort of interesting but ultimately too sweet (that candied fruit thing!) and generic.

Scentses

Such a hit, yet such a miss. Quite possibly one of the best fragrances I have ever inhaled. It has the soft feminine touch of tuberose when you first inhale, and then something sharp, a bit naughty hits you after a few seconds- it must be the agave. Like the girl next door who has another side to her. I adore the faceted contrast. I can't stop smelling this, although I do; the downside to this perfume is that it seems to evaporate the moment I put it on. If I had paid the $300 for this, I'd be devastated (it was a gift). I'm still devastated regardless, as it is truly a masterpiece. Memo, SOS! Extend the life of Marfa!

highonfumes

Oh, Memo. I hate myself for loving you. The top reasons being the outrageous pricing, and the crowd pleasing aspects of the fragrances. Memos are like the best looking kid in a school, an obvious choice. They’re not exactly counter-culture, and they’re definitely not challenging. Just high quality well constructed fragrance. Reviewing this fragrance makes me feel like I’m reviewing the Beatles like “wow, great band!”

Marfa is the second Memo big hit fragrance I’ve brought home for sampling. I loved it as soon as I smelled it. I think my eyes may have rolled back in my head with pleasure. And of COURSE I would love it. It smells like ethereal tuberose blossoms floating in a bowl of chilled milk that just floated up your nose on a vanilla marshmallow cloud. There’s a little clean white musk urging me into a sublime detergent commercial visual- bright sunshine illuminating cool white clothes flapping in the wind on old fashioned clothes lines. There’s just a hint of something botanical like sweet grass but better, I think it’s the agave plant listed in the pyramid. When I wear this, I feel like I am staring into a clear blue sky with just a smattering of fluffy clouds.

If there is a personal style to go with this blend, it’s “casually pulled together”. It reminds me of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy, but Marfa is universal enough to make anyone smell like they have effortless style.

I ran my sample by the boyfriend, but I knew he would instantly appreciate it. I hate that I’ll be buying a bottle of this, but also I love it because it smells so. damn. good.

Update: I thought this would make a good summer scent. As it turns out, a tuberose by any other name is still a tuberose and it was too thick for the summer. It’s fitting perfectly for this Spring, though.

sheli.stokes

I admit, I really didn’t want to like this scent as much as I do. My first impression after putting it on, I wasn’t impressed. But about an hour in, a warm, creamy floral took over and is still hanging on to my wrist over 24 hours later. It doesn’t necessarily remind me of Marfa, a city that I love, but it does smell amazing and lasts a long time.

adrienn99

strange but on my skin smells just like Secretions Magnifique, metallic, floral, chalky. I'll pass.

Cherry_Darling

Opening is disappointing for such an expensive perfume - cheap designer candy floss floral. Drydown is much better, a mellow tuberose. Further down i get cumin and sweat :/

Taleb

YSL Supreme Bouquet clone?? Yes and it feels disappointing that an original maker of perfumes fall into this pit...

broomflower

If you were to distill the scent, I would describe it as high-end orange creamsicle. Otherwise, this perfume is like fresh fruit on a hot sandy day. Sweet but it doesn't drip off of you and at no point is it sugary or over-ripe. There is a full-bodied quality to Marfa, which delights and entices. If you are looking for a "real orange" scent, you will be disappointed. This perfume is more impressionistic. It is a likeness of fruit that hones in on its best qualities, rather than a realistic representation of the thing itself. It depicts "orange" in a landscape to draw out its full potential. Finally, a fruit smell that I can love and adore...

Marfa is a beautifully modulated white floral with an agave nectar to add sweetness and freshness to the tuberose and orange blossom. It never veers too sharp, a bit dry leading it to unisex potential. Very long lasting, quality experience, and unique in its style. It will be noticed in a good way...

I tested three of memo paris fragrances today and I disliked all of them when first sprayed but after an hour or two, they changed beautifully and I changed my mind about them too
When I first sprayed marfa my man hated it,and he usually loves white florals!I could feel tuberose in it but in a very sharp,in your face way.there's something in it's opening part which ruins it for me,something herbal, dusty, bitter and sharp,I'm sure it's agave and I don't like it at all.
After an hour I was surprised to smell a gorgeous scent wafting my hand.tuberose is there but it behaves.strongest note on my skin is orange flower which I love.and yes, buttery ylang ylang is also noticeable.a creamy vanilla rounds flower scents.musk and woody notes give it a more creamy base while staying soft and in shadow.fortunately I can't detect any agave or other herbal things anymore but flowers are still very natural smelling and have some sort of freshness while being sunny and softly sweet
Marfa is feminine and beautiful,it's elegant and calming.I really like this blend of orange flower, vanilla, mandarin and other flowers.a lovely spring, summer scent.it's expensive but it also smells expensive and high quality.I really hate it's first hour but it's not a deal breaker because when it evolves to this beautiful floral symphony,it still has very good sillage and lasts very long(I tested it about 10 hours ago and it's still there strongly)
If I had a lot of money I would definitely buy it but now,I'm not sure!(it's 265 $ here).
I like this brands heavy bottles but not marfa.I'm afraid of the eyes on it

I saw Lanier Smith talk about a sample of Marfa and I knew I had to try it. This fragrance to my nose is a blast of strong leather notes at first with a bite of jasmine, and dare I say, dirt.

I just honeymooned in the desert this summer, and I can definitely get the notes of an almost juniper quality which adds to the warm desolation of this fragrance, along with a dewey freshness tinged with citrus.

After about 20 minutes, the tuberose and sandalwood/vanilla take center stage and envelope the wearer in a kind of warm shawl worn to keep a cool desert evening breeze at bay.

This scent is obviously evocative for me, and as a lover of the desert, it hit a home run with familiar scents I love to remember.

Bravo Marfa...you will be my next full bottle purchase!

Delectable fruity floral with a strong musky vanilla base. Inspired by a West Texas desert area known for UFO activity! As a 'twilight in the desert' perfume it works! It has agave in the base, sandalwood as a foundation, and bright white florals leading the pack. The variety of juxtaposed notes make for a sparkling satiny aura. Feminine, richly nuanced, addictive! So gorgeous, my mother wanted the bottle for herself after smelling it on me. I'll have to raid her dressing table and commit a UFO abduction on the bottle from time to time!

I am not a sweet tooth when it comes to fragrances.
But this is one of the very few sweet fragrances that I ended up owning a bottle and am happy with it.

This fragrance smells so good that I want to cry. No joke. I can't even explain it. I have never smelled something so beautiful as this! After you spray it it does come of a bit harsh, but give it 15-30 minutes and the fragrance melts into the skin and gives of a soft, sweet, blossoming scent. This is a very soft and sweet floral scent, nothing like any another fragrance (I own or have ever smelled). It's expensive but it's so worth it!

*Update*
I've been using this fragrance for some days now and I have gotten to known it a bit better. When I read the reviews, witch says that this is a strong and long lasting fragrance I just couldn't get it. To me this fragrance is so soft that I inhale my skin. Yesterday I sprayed just a bit on a test strip and left it in the living room. I now realize that this fragrance most likely knocks out my olfactory sense when I wear it (combined with the fact that my skin sucks up fragrance like nothing else). This fragrance projects and it most likely have very good longevity, my olfactory sense just adapts to this scent very quickly. The point to this story is that when I enter my living room several hours after I sprayed the test strip this lovely scent hits my face. It's so sad that I can't smell it on my self, but sure hope others enjoy the fragrance on me.
