Found a bottle of this stuff laying around in a storage cabinet. The bottle is 20% full. I suspect it was a family members signature scent for a while before they abandoned it for another fragrance. Anyhow, I have a hold of it now, and my god, I'm pretty happy about this discovery as I've been on a rose binge recently.

Its a beautiful musky rose with a warm, cashmere dry down. I don't get much of the fruity notes. The jasmine and rose combination here is so intoxicating. It fills your lungs (without any sign of an incoming headache). It reminds me of passing by expensive department stores as a kid and looking at all the rich ladies wearing designer lol. The performance is not great but the scent alone practically makes up for it. I'll probably enjoy wearing what is left of this bottle and will likely consider purchasing a full bottle.

I got this from my mother as it didn't suit her skin. Melts into a lovely cashmere throughout the day, I love using it with a woolen sweater and dozing off during a winter day. I think it suits both day and nightwear, but I'd daywear this only during cold weather. My partner loves it!

YourFragranceFriend

Opens warm, powdery, soft, fruity, rose. They all project immediately yet feel already beautifully worn in. Jasmine and cashmere keep it radiating warmth throughout the wear. This scent of smooth and almost powdery. This is one I’d often grab for a night out. It feels very feminine. Longevity is great too.

When I used to work in office, I’d bring in fragrances for my coworkers to try. They all hated this! It was deemed a grandma perfume. I completely disagree. I think the apricot and cashmere keep the rose from going too mature. I do see where they are coming from though since many associate rose with grandmas, I know I remember my grandma using all rose-scented toiletries.

On a more personal note, this fragrance was released right after I lost my childhood dog named Ruby. It was very hard for my family. My dad came to visit me and brought me the latest Ulta catalog that was delivered to his house. I opened it up and out fell the sample card for Sexy Ruby. We had to laugh at how perfect it was; like a message to us (if you believe in that). I knew I had to have it. I've gone through a rollerball, have another 30ml, and own a backup 100ml I found at TJ Maxx for $19.99.

BritneyPerfume4Eva

Possibly the best perfume I've ever had, it has that gorgeous cashmere wood that seems to be at the base of everything I adore (Black Opium, Wonderlust). It's so comforting and sexy at the same time. This is what I'd wear on the date where I know I would be having sex for the first time with a new man.

LulaValentine

I don’t get why they have Sexy Ruby in the database but not Glam Ruby!

I plan to buy samples of both butI wish Glam Ruby was in the database!

Katelynl88

This is a pleasant perfume . It is similar to other spicy rose scents but it does have a fruitiness ton it that brightens it up . I think it would be a great day time office type scent , not really super sexy , more casual . Idk but it smells quite nice . Rose, fruit , pepper. , slight powder

SheRays

I wasn't expecting this to be so heavy and spicy. It's not as sweet and fruity as I thought. Disappointed.

KippieBall

It's rosy glamour in a bottle. I don't get the fruity notes... It's a good scent for winter, and a little spritz is all one would need!

1fabgal

This fragrance is very linear on me, and reminds me of Cinnabar from Estée Lauder (original version) — the way it dried down and softened up as it warmed on your skin. A dear friend who passed away wore Cinnabar throughout the 80’s, and this reminds me of her. I absolutely love it! It’s all the berry (surprised it doesn’t have pomegranate listed as a note), rose, spicy goodness without the heavier base notes. Really beautiful for fall and winter!

Peaches77

Raspberry and Apricot give it a fruity sweetness. The Rose Petals and Jasmine Sambac give a sophisticated lift. The Cashmere Wood makes is warm and inviting. Overall it’s a good scent, great for work and daytime wear. It’s not to strong and it last all day on me.

Gemsense

This is gorgeous and sexy! It strongly resembles bbw you're the one. Mmmm 😋 it's rosy with a fruity apricot, clean yet deep. I'm in love with sexy ruby! You definitely need to try this in warm weather to get the sexy woody smoky fruity sweet seductive rose 🌹 this is a stunner😍
Ps... If you run out of this you can buy al rehab tooty musk and they smell the same! Exactly!

Slickchick81

Very alcoholic on initial spray, when this disappates you are left with a very clean soapy agreeable smell, I personally only wear this after stepping out of a shower. Lasting power is pitiful, if I overspray I can get maybe three hours on me, hugs the skin not a projector on me at all. I wouldn't repurchase but will happily use up the bottle.

sammysilver678

So disappointed in this. I was so excited to try it for weeks. But when i got it, it smells like straight up grandma perfume thats it. Powder powder powder.

Veronjn111

I don't get how people think this even smells remotely close to Armani Si. It's nowhere near it.

Sexy Ruby gives me festive fall vibes. The Apricot almost smells like cinnamon apple, and the Cashmere wood gives it a rounded light woody note. It reminds me of fall potpourri in the best kind of way. I'm seriously debating this scent to be my fall wedding scent 😌

crystalistheone

I recently picked up the cent off line for a 1.7 ounce for $29. As others have mentioned this does have a resemblance to armani si. This is definitely an underrated scent, I described this as a fruity floral with a woody dry down, I would definitely say this is Sexy. For the price you can’t go wrong, definitely an easy reach if you like woody sweet florals. I rate this overall as an 8.5 out of 10🌞

Augustarina

Had I not tried this more than once, I would have just given it away to a friend. I didn't like it at all, finding it quite abrasive and jarring. It even made my nostrils burn. But the next day I could smell it on the top I had worn, and it was gorgeous, so I kept going with it. After several wearings, it was magic. It was like it suddenly fused with my body chemistry, and I just couldn't get enough of it. I now find it warm, fruity and indeed, sexy. Reminds me a little bit of the original Liz Claiborne Realities which I miss terribly!

Abyss Dei

There's something about this one. Don't know exactly what it is, but whatever it is I fancy it. As a male wearing Sexy Ruby all I can say is women love it. I've gotten comments on how can a man smell so good etc. To the males, you have to have your confidence in yourself sorted out before you consider Sexy Ruby. lol.

Packaging for my bottle lists both oakmoss and treemoss. How they don't appear in the notes I don't know. Could be why I find Sexy Ruby so enticing.

Steph_S

This is a nice fragrance. It's a delicate sweet, fruity scent that's not too juvenile, nor artificial. The longevity and sillage, however, are not quite what I expected it to be. It's a little chilly here, so it may just be a cold weather reaction, but this doesn't last or project on my skin very well at all. On my cotton tester, it's great. I could smell it from a few feet away. I purchased it at a great price, so it's not a disappointment.

u24masonl

I am going to jump on the bandwagon and say that, as soon as I tried this sample, I was instantly reminded of Si by Giorgio Armani. And I love Si, but initially decided not to buy Sexy Ruby because they were so similar. However, the 100ml bottle fell to a huge discount last week, so I have purchased it (I adore both scents) and have since done a like-for-like test, wearing one on each wrist.

At first spray, I would say Si is more complex, more floral. Sexy Ruby is instantly fruity, jammy, syrupy. There is more jasmine in Sexy Ruby than Si, whereas Si's floral note has a wider, sweeter bouquet.

After wearing for 10 minutes, Si develops into its jamminess and becomes gently spicy and aromatic, alongside the floral notes at the base pinning it together. Sexy Ruby is, well, fruity, jammy and syrupy. It's also worth noting that the sillage and longevity of Si far exceeds that of Sexy Ruby, but this is expected in my mind because Si is one of the most powerful, long-lasting scents that I own. Sexy Ruby still pulls its weight and will last you a good few hours. It will also get you compliments.

Don't get me wrong, I really, really like this perfume. I don't regret buying it. It's unique, it packs a punch, it's feminine and it's sexy. It can be worn across the seasons, depending on the context. But if you already own Si, I wouldn't say this is a necessary addition to your collection.

Sugoibee

Oh my… reminded me of valentine's day soooo lovely. A very attractive pale skin perfume may not appeal to those who like warmer scents There is rose, but cold. Jasmine exists only as a name but doesn't deserve all this hate

mevans

Sexy Ruby has a dense, fruity-syrupy sweetness combined with the rose-jasmine accord which I think is what makes it similar to Si. It's not a dupe and they don't share many notes in common, but it's just got the same sort of quality of being a thick sweetness and a good bit of rose. If you like Si, you probably would like Sexy Ruby. If you like scents that highlight rose, say like Chloé, this might be one for you. I'm surprised it doesn't get more love in the reviews. It's really quite beautiful and a solid offering in the sweet floral genre. Performance is excellent, longevity and sillage both.

bel.gravia

Well I did not expect to like Sexy Ruby THIS MUCH! It smells like an Armani Si collection scent - and Armani Si was all over the place, around 2013. So silly me, I loved it but I never wore it as smelling it on almost every woman made it unappealing for me. Then last year during the lockdown I bought a bottle of Si, and happily used it up. I saw Sexy Ruby at the Perfume Shop on a very good offer, tried it and bought the last bottle available immediately.i believe it has been discontinued now. It smells so attractive and addictive. Just like Si has this syrupy quality. It is sweet and woody. It smells like nectar, honey or jam - something delicious and dense.

Szilvita

The first time I tried Sexy Ruby was from a minibottle, the dabbing kind. I was not a fan. The only thing I could smell was this "old grandma rose" scent others have also mentioned. I quickly decided that it was not a scent for me and gave it away.

Some months later I got more of this mini version. So I tried it again, now that I had it. To my surprise it was a totally different experience! I got a sweet but still fresh scent that I really enjoyed. I was just sad about the longivity.

I have now poured it into a spraybottle instead. Much easier to handle and put on.

Now I can still smell the perfume on my clothes from yesterday. I think it projects pretty well at the beginning. It can get a bit headache inducing if you overdo it. It calms down after a while though, and becomes much softer. Used moderately in warmer weather I actually enjoy it now, despite my bad first impression.

I have definitely learned that you should not judge a perfume from the very first sniff. It has several phases, the climate and cold/heat changes what you smell. Even what you have smelled beforehand!

kiancansniff

it doesn’t smell “sexy” to me in any way shape or form but she is a cutie! to me it smells like apricot mostly with a little bit of raspberry. it’s like the mocktails you would get as a teenager on vacation. super juicy. she’s not here for a long time but definitely fun while she lasts

Ellsa

I don't think the name is suitable for this perfume. There is nothing I can find sexy in this perfume. It's suitable for a grandmother that can use this perfume when she goes at church especially because is not headache inducing and the and silage is very weak so it won't bother anyone. To me is just a woody- musky scent and when it dries reminds me of the smell of old lipsticks.

VelvetTrance

I had super low expectations based on the reviews but I found a bottle for a great price and grabbed it. This is pretty. Boozy fruit and rose is what I smell, on the sweet and syrupy side. Once it settles in it's lovely if not terribly original. It seems to have a rather subdued presence on my skin although I would not want to overspray this. It's nice enough but probably not something I will reach for often.

mrk321

A weak fruity scent that settles into a bubblegum scent after a while on my skin. Silly name. Nice bottle. I'll probably end up giving this one away if I can't sell it.

handkmommy

This is very very mainstream. Something about it reminds me of Black Opium or LaVie est Belle. But, those aren’t my style at all. So take my not caring for it with a grain of salt, as those are popular scents.

HarrietR

its just pretty unremarkable and boring , it doesn't smell bad or offensive just not my style ... it will sound weird but it seemed to suit me better when I used to smoke ( I quit and does not smell the same maybe my nose has changed though ) i use it as a bedding spray 🤦♀️

dglightblue

Sexy ruby summer test, muggyand hot but a rainy day.

Now, I’ll tell yuo this scent has not been the same each time I’ve tested it. I winder if the tester bottle has matured and improved..

Ok so, this to me is light, powdery with a bit of icing sugar, eraser rubber cool and rounded, as this wears I swear it has a not shared with Dior addict - that buttery rough cool white floral..? It’s git powdery edges, has substance to it, goes from lighter to increasing richness.
Sillage is great, it’s ixing a wee bit with coach platinum.
Buttery richness floral changes into a bit more powdery, not dry or talc, slightly sweet, make up-y.

I like it, it’s a welcome change, but, in other months the powderyness has been more pronounced, I think the weather changes this one. Loved it today, other days It’s a like.

Scentflower

Idk about this one. Part of my loves this perfume because it does have a apricot note. I also love rose and raspberry. It smells nice, my critique is it has a dusty rose smell. Like you were to walk into your grandma's attic and go through her old clothes. Sometimes the fruit note cuts it enough for me where I'll wear the perfume. I'll smell it and think I need to actually wear this, but I rarely grab for it. The longevity is not good you'll have to respray

tyekristopher

Sexy ruby had a lot of potential but it was lackluster in the juice department. It didn’t even last a year at Dillard’s I hated selling it because every time I sold it they would return it later... I always knew they would because it tells us on our quota cards what was returned and sexy ruby was always on my quota return card . I feel like the juice doesn’t match the bottles. My birth stone is ruby so naturally I was hoping I would like it . I did not, I wore it a few times and I couldn’t get into it . It was kinda medicinal smelling to me , now the sparking blush is much nicer in my opinion but sexy ruby tanked sales wise

Moreluvr

Bright and refreshing. All notes well represented. I love this juice and need to get more!

Spencemonster

Nice enough. Strong. Floral and classy. But an exact copy of Victoria Secret - Very Sexy Eau De Parfume. I mean. Exact same scent. Also a red diamond bottle.

elledeelee

I'm not a fan of fruity scents at all but I really liked this one! I tested it on paper and found it to be rather intriguingly unusual, sexy to begin with, then it dried down to be more powdery and definitely a bit retro which I really enjoyed. Since I quite liked it on paper, I tested on me, at which point I realised it's barely noticeable on skin. It's just a vague nothingness that almost instantly disappears. A real shame.

amarayoga

Got 3 samples of it, wore it for a week. After the first two hours, I couldn't smell it at all. I hated the scent, but kept wearing it because co-workers complimented me every day.

celebrity89

When I finally sampled this, I had PTSD from a bad run-in with Perry Woman by Perry Ellis from 2002.

perfumeglam87

I have all 3 avon red dress, le rogue and sexy ruby. They don't smell the same to me. red dress smells like a weak lite le rogue. Sexy ruby smells spicy like pink pepper is there. Smoky rose is also the top in this then a hint of raspberry. Very fall winter. The rose in this smells identical to my Club de Nuit Intense Armaf. I will update later on the longevity.
Smells like a sweet woody oriental.

Edit: I had it for 2 days. And returned it. It lasted under 2 hours. Just wasn't worth the $$. Purchased from kohls. :/

roxyangel1001

I smelled this in a magazine once. Loved it so much. Bought it today, and tried it on my skin, not a fan. Gave me an instant headache. Maybe it's because I put too much on by accident. #oops.

Eau de Nikita

My friend gave me her rollerball because she said it smelled good in the store but on the way home she did not like it. WELLL it suits me personally, i love it! It smells like a new age, teen-friendly reworked less overwhelming version of Giorgio Red to me. Theres a hint of Modern Muse Le Rouge too but not all the way there.

sibaraa

Dear God! This is intoxicating. So sexy. Smells heavenly. I think the sambac jasmin did its trick again.

damebrunette

I do like the apricot, one of my favourite notes. I think that's what I get whiffs of now and again. Up close I can smell the rose and soft wood. Quite sweet. I like it.

mschnabel666

$22 for 100 ml at TJ today. $16 for 50ml. Check clearance area, not just regular perfume area. I'm in Michigan.

Blind buy. It's nice. Woody red berry rose.

YYY_Delilah

@chicagogirl -- It is now! (At least at TK Maxx in England.) Wish I'd waited ... but I never honestly expected it to be a flop! I positively thought the opposite in fact - let that be a measure of how high I rate it.

chicagogirl

It really isn't a terrible fragrance lol. It's a clean, powdery, sweet fruity scent that is light. It's pleasant and safe. Perfect for an office, nurses etc. It'll offend no one because it isn't memorable. It's difficult to distinguish individual notes in it, they just all come together to make one scent. It reminds me a lot of Beyonce Rise! The bottle is so cute too. Maybe I'm just attracted to this fragrance because ruby is my birthstone lol. I'll probably snatch this up once it's marked down to $20 and collecting dust on a sales rack at TJ Maxx, hehe.

dglightblue

two sprays, summer, humid

starts fruity, deep, floral, some kind of powdery duskyness, smokey rasberries (not like fresh fruit, but i dont know, and not actual incense or smoke, but hazey)
this goes from "I'm here!", to "im just chillin" in about two hours, now its perfumey, sweet (not sugary) dusky powdery slightly make up-y.

not miles away from the dry down of mon paris couture, paco rabanne xs or is it black xs.. cant exactly recall.

quite nice, its not a sweetie which i like

justfloral

It could be a flanker of Chopards Madness. Sweeter and more fruity, for the young generation.

Red berries + red roses + turpentine based wood floor polish (the same note as in Madness, woody, patchouli-like, almost mentholated) + indolic jasmine.

Very "red" perfume. It smells just like red color should.

lorna.1

I found this to be a very linear fragrance and very basic and not that interesting apart from the opening.

There sadly smells like I tipped some rose wine on my pulse.
The bottle is lovely and it looks expensive but sadly the juice has quite a cheap smelling essence.

Not memorable, or wonderful in any way. It's not for me.

YYY_Delilah

I"ve just mentioned this in connection with something else; and I come to look at the reviews - and yes - it has a very bad overall consensus with the occasional person really liking it ... and I feel a bit better now declaring myself amongst those few.

If I'd had any idea though that it was destined to be so unpopular I would have waited to get it at discount, as is easy now about a year after its release.

cedar_lea

Thank you, Drugstore Classics for your review that convinced me that I was testing the right fragrance.

The opening is spicy pink pepper and jasmine with a darker undercurrent. Something between a dark and dirty musk and iron. There are some other perfumey notes that remind me of black opium or juicy couture but nothing notable.

As it settles I get the apricot note strongly. I also do get the cherry whiskey someone described especially when I have my had about six inches away from my nose. The rose shows up when I press it to my face.

I may have trouble smelling this on myself. The cleaning guy at the grocery store where I work told me I smelled good and he was about 30ft away at the time.

Christycaxxx

I thought I was going to like this when I smelt it on the test strip as the perfume had a nice rose opening. As it dried down the fruit notes came through very synthetic and I thought it could be the paper strip that made it smell that way. So I sprayed it on my arm and waited about ten minutes before I smelt it. Unfortunately it smelled like an “old lady’s perfume” as my husband described it. A little musky but has that cheap perfume smell and I was majorly disappointed. I expected more, especially from a brand like Michael Kors and I own a couple of his perfumes so this was a let down.

missus9

Love,Love,Love!!! It is a lovely soft fragrance for fall...hits all the right notes and the dry down is heavenly.
I agree on one very valid point...it's longevity is not good at all. That being said, I like to think I can discern good notes assembled in perfumes...the way I LIKE to smell! This fruity-floral with the cashmere wood base is so divine! I have all the Modern Muse's and yes, it is similar to Modern Muse Rouge and the Gloss version...and yet I find myself reaching for this more often. If you are listening, Michael Kors Corporation, or reading these reviews, PLEASE salvage a worthwhile fragrance by upping it's essential oils...don't change the notes, just make it last longer. The fragrance is truly a dream, a soft fall fragrance that I love smelling on myself. For fragrances that don't have longevity, I spritz on my underwear, bend over and spritz my scalp, and on this one...yes, I was desperate...I even rolled the rollerball on my eyebrows...it seems to need something to cling to and hair works well. I wear perfume to please others, hopefully, but mostly for myself and the lovely memories it creates. Please don't miss out on a fabulous fragrance ladies..Woman by Ralph Lauren has the same issues. Perhaps an "intense" version will do the trick!

Emera1d

It was a bling buy for me, and sadly I really don't like it.Someone mentioned its like the smell of cheap jewellery turning your skin green and this is mostly what I get. I can smell the fruit slightly, but mostly it is bitter on my skin. Now I am stuck with a 50ml gift pack with body lotion and shower gel not knowing what to do with it. It was my first ever MK perfume and I don't think I will be brave to try another.

Huckleberry

Surprisingly I like this...a lot. It’s a little boozy, syrupy compote fruity with a dry down that is warm. This is a red dress at a cocktail party kinda scent. My husband likes it on me.
I bought it as a gift set that came with a lotion. Just so you all know, the “silky” lotion does not match the scent of the fragrance...at all. The lotion is a tart floral and they do not compliment each other. I looked up the scent profile for the silky body lotion and all I got from Macy’s, Nordstrom, etc. website is...”It is subtly scented with creamy skin-like warmth and a heart of petals” WTH does that mean????

gtabasso

apricot, rose, musk and cashmere; the combo creates a very tart almost rhubarb type note; doesn't last or project but is lovely and unique

Fragrantnatic

The apricot is prominent, so is the rose.. Its a very nice, feminine scent on initial spray. In fact it is really nice and I liked it Now the downside.. The longevity is poor, on me it lasted only one hour and I was indoors, with the airconditioning running.

A fairly office friendly scent though, but you just need to spray more on to get it going. I guess I'm better off wearing Michael Kors bags instead!

Scentaholic

Sexy Ruby is lovely! It has a sort of holiday vibe to it. Fruity in the beginning with a bit of spice from the cashmere wood. Then the florals show through with the jasmine sambac keeping it sweet and the rose giving it that powdery/soapy touch. It happens to be one of the only Michael Kors perfumes that I can say I love. Lasting power and sillage are both moderate for me.

Contessa01

I am a bit torn with my feelings of this one. I overall like it and bought it on sale recently. I like parts of the fragrance, the parts described by the notes - that real apricot, berry mix but the way it settles is different and I am not sure how to describe it exactly. It may be the apricot actually, it changes in an odd way. It does remind me of Rouge by Estee Lauder, that is a good comparison. I would say this is more boozy than that one.

meg0825

As others have said, the name is a bit off putting. I felt the same way about Sexy Amber but as it turns out, I really like that one. The opening of Sexy Ruby is a very syrupy raspberry that I don't care for. I definitely pick up rose but not much jasmine. The musky, woody cashmere dry down is the best part. I like it ok, but would probably never buy it.

dglightblue

Sexy ruby

I don’t agree with the accords listed. I get totally different vibe from this.

Perfumey powdery.

I’ll find my note and update

rola.asad

Nothing to complain about this fragrance, just you feel like you’ve smelled this scent for Trillion times before!! Following the trend *_@

lmwimsatt

I agree that the name is stupid, and it and it smells like cool aid mix before you put the sugar in. Its very perfumy but not terrible. Reminds me of his glam jasmine and vera wangs rock princess. Ive yet to find an mk perfume i like. Pretty bottle tho

who.am.i.you

I'm surprised at all the hate and complaints about longevity on this one. I admit that it is nothing groundbreaking and I wouldn't pay full price (I was gifted this by a friend who works in cosmetics and gets perfumes very highly discounted...like $5 for this $100+ bottle). However, this lasts all day on me and becomes a musky sweet scent. I do see the comparisons to Victoria's Secret scents. Really reminds me of an upgraded, more refined Victoria's Secret Vixen even though they don't share familiar notes. Definitely fruity, but a rich fruity. Like a boozy fruit cocktail that costs too much but it's enjoyed anyway. One of my favorites right now. I get a nice, dusty rose and a sort of library vibe to this in the dry-down. I haven't tried many Michael Kors scents, but I am very impressed by Sexy Amber in terms of depth of amber scent and longevity. I apply the same to this, but instead of amber, it's a fruit cocktail. Warm and comforting, but juicy. I now associate this with my best friend who thought of me, so it has a special place in my heart despite that it's not terribly original or groundbreaking. I find that this could easily be a scent I throw on when I don't know what to wear.

magdalena81.1

Pretty bottle but it´s a really cheap, boozy smelling perfume and I´m sorry I did a blindbuy on this.

Piscean-Blue

Okay, so I've been trying to tone down the meanness when it comes to reviewing here on this site, but "Sexy Ruby"? Seriously? What a cheesy name! I'd actually like to have a conversation with the marketing director who approved it. Like- how did this happen? Were you tired that day?

And the scent is weird. I get synthetically sour raspberries and grapes. It's like Red Kool-Aid before you put the sugar in.

I mean look, it's not the worst thing you're ever gonna smell. And I suppose it may work with certain body chemistries. But please, please, please don't blind buy.

miafran92

I'm sorry if this sounds bad, but the name Sexy Ruby is enough to put me off a bit. The Michael Kors brand has kind of a tacky image in my mind anyway, though, so perhaps I'm projecting it onto this perfume without giving it a fair shot.

Centsless

Sexy Ruby is just a like for me. It's not bad but it's not that good either, a bit forgettable. I think the quality of ingredients are maybe what makes this smell cheaper than it is. It reminds me of a BBW scent. Fruity rose and nothing sparkling about it. If you like a nice dusty rose and fruit smell give this a try. The silage and longevity aren't very good though. I'm more of a sexy amber person, I guess :)

iamoir

With a winey, thin, sour and grapey opening, Sexy Ruby can be a little nauseating. Sure, the whole fruit mix is balanced enough so as to smell raspberry too; in fact I think raspberry is more prominent than apricot in here. There is a strong current of general red fruit that give a sangria-like scent.

Weird scent. Follows the modern trends. It is being categorized as a Chypre Fruity, but in my opinion there's little to no chypre here. It has a woody base; fine, but that's not exclusive to chypres. It is aromatic, it has the pencil shavings scent somewhere too, dry without really smelling powdery.

A feminine, modern, party fragrance, very suitable for autumn weather. The perfume projects just fine, I sprayed it on my wrists and on neck it was surrounded in a fruity cloud from 18:30 until 22:00 when the overall scent started getting vague. So longevity is not terrible either.

But I don't need it

starshine1985

Go figure! The only perfume my husband likes! I smell barely detectable rose. I bought the mini bottle and swore they filled it with mostly water, but reading the comments here I'm pretty sure it's just a weak perfume. But, hey...If hubby likes it, I like it!

VERYlibby

As soon as I smelled Sexy Ruby it reminded me of Versace Red Jeans. This perfume didn't have any air to it and after a few hours i couldnt really make out much except for some stale rose. Pretty bottle but not my type of perfume.

Lizbethianeta

Where did it go? Disappears almost immediately. Pretty bottle, tho.

HelenaZ

I love this perfume, its beautiful, but it has absolutely no lasting power or strength to it. Silage is low. This makes it worth so much less than it is priced because its weak as toilette would be. A real shame.

Mrs.Allard

It's a dusty, smokey rose, this gives it a slight vintage vibe. The top notes are definitely apricot or peach but not too juicy or realistic. Jasmine softens it as a base note.

AnitaHendricks

I like it better on the sampler than on my skin. When I spray it on paper it's fruity and sweet in a very fresh way. I can picture a teenager with good taste. This effect is so different when I put it on my wrist! I can smell a smoky booze bar covered in raspberry jam and strippers when I do. The sparkly notes are completely gone. It won't last long either. Too bad!

winikrose

MK Sexy Ruby has that boozy note that's been trending. It's VERY strong. This is probably not strictly the fault of the perfumer but to me this scent is reminiscent of that gods awful always regrettable 'morning after'

fragrantperfumes

If it would actually have some kind of longevity, this perfume would be worth buying. The scent is a nice sweet "red" scent, but because it fades in no time---it really isn't worth purchasing (especially considering it isn't a cheap perfume).

CB23

Very surprised by the negative reviews, I thought this was really nice, tried about 30 women’s fragrances today and this was the one I ended up buying (not for me)

Fluffyandpuffy

The apricot ruins it I think. What a shame, I was expecting something special and good. Disappointed.

Leonie Iris

I wanted to like this! I have been on the hunt for a good autumn/date night perfume, and when I saw this on the self at a Sephora, I had to try it immediately. I had some high hopes since I like multiple perfumes by Michael Kors.

Unfortunately the bottle is far more gorgeous than the scent itself, which to me smelled like medicine. No thanks.

juliaten

So far this perfume gets a lot of dislikes comparing to likes. To me it smells just generic nothing special. So I'll pass.

scentist

Very similar to Estee Lauder Le Rouge, nothing new here. The notes are totally ok and you would expect something nice but this fragrance is somehow messed up.

AmoreProfumi

This smelled really nice on the strip, so I spritzed a lil on my skin.. & O_O.. no likey.. it's weird at times its nice then other's its just like ew god what is going on here.. The nicer times it has a fruity sweet slightly powdery smell to it.. now it smells like old bubble gum with a penny..or like when you have cheaper jewelry on and can smell the metal.. like something in there is not playing nice with the other notes, I love most M.Kors scents and I love the red ruby bottle, but the scent sorry to say wasn't a total love for me.

malindajoquinn

Neither of these things are listed in the notes, but this straight up smells like a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned - just whiskey and cherries. Very bizarre. It smells like you could get drunk by wearing this.

tyekristopher

This smells like anything but sexy, this straight up like smells like caugh syrup and I do not like that term to describe a scent but that is what I smell ! I loved the midnight shimmer by him and his signature but this is just a big no no in my book, not for me. Bottle is stunning

MrsTefee

I had high hopes for this one but on me this is pure spicy weeds from beginning to end. I will pass on this.

DarlingNikki

Just smelled a scent strip sample out of an Ulta sale catalog and yuk! I agree with those who say this smells old, stuffy, stale and just not good. Smells like it has vetiver in it by the scent strip (I smell the same weird dill pickle vibe as I do in Marc Jacobs original Decadence). Nothing like what I anticipated. I'll give another assessment if I find a bottle to actually test the juice, but from that scent strip it's a definite no go for me.

On the other hand, the Sexy Amber sample right above it smells quite nice, but reminds me of Victoria's Secret Amber Romance too much. Maybe on skin they're different, but sniffing from the scent strip they smell like close siblings.

RKaty

I received a sample of this from the store. It is a very lovely, soft, sophisticated fragrance. Very thankful it is not such a heavy white floral fragrance like some of their other perfumes. In my opinion it does border on the side of matronly but I really enjoy those tyes of perfumes. I would definitely love to see this available as a lotion to layer under other fragrances.

Tovah

This is so unusual that I may wind up with a roll-on, if not a bottle. Ruby is mysecond favorite gemstone (to emerald), and I love this bottle. Sexy Ruby smells like wine. Semi-sweet, rich and oak-y Cabernet. This does for pomegranate what Sexy Amber (I love Sexy Amber) does for amber...it magnifies it, embellishes it, and practically makes it dangerous. When I sniffed Sexy Ruby in Ulta, two ladies were testing the "Gio" line, right next to me. They were joking with each other about finding a scent that smelled of stale beer so they would drive their men wild. I turned to them and, jokingly, said, "Here's a boozy one!" They both bought a bottle of Sexy Ruby, on the spot. You're welcome, Michael Kors.

Leelee88

So I liked the bottle but unfortunately the scent inside is not as pretty .... I wasn’t a big fan of Michael kors fragrances and now I cannot stand them!

The fragrances opens with an over powering oldness of bitter sweet but then closing with nothing.

This fragrance is something I could buy in Superdrug’s dirt cheap and it would probably last longer.

Nothing compares to the Michael kors signature .... this is the best and the only one that really does appeal to me... the rest just seem like cheap stuff ..... but unfortunately the prices are not cheap ... well over priced and definitely not worth it

Irwina

I'm so disappointed! I smelled the fragrance on a Vanity Fair sample strip, and thought it was just beautiful and exactly what I wanted. I went to Macy's, sampled it, liked it and bought it. I brought it home and put it on. Mmmmm not much there. This smells like a cheap perfume you can buy in CVS for a few dollars. It's going back!

genny17

I tried it and wasn't sure I would review it, as really I thought this wasn't anything special...the pomegranate dominates, and in a weird smelling way...it gets sweet fast, and becomes very forgettable..
As far as it being a lighter version of Muse le Rouge, goodness no..the Estée
Lauder is much classier..I agree it could be a Bath and Body works scent...some fruity thing...not hugely unpleasant, but nothing extraordinary for the price!! Wouldn't buy it, wouldn't wear it!!

ScarlettX

It smells quite bad in my opinion. I don't get the notes listed here. Except the rose, maybe, but it's not the good rose.
Smells like something old, but it doesn't have old-fashioned sillage. Luckily.
An eye-catching bottle but the scent is disappointing.

Neckromancer

This is interesting. It does smell like rubies, but in gummy form. I mostly get pomegranate (which is weirdly not a note), indistinguishable white florals, and something a bit cloying and syrupy. Knowing the Fragrantica community, this is not going to be a huge hit, it will be waved off as "common". For me though, it's not bad, I think it's good for someone in their later teens. As mentioned in an earlier review, it's a sexy fruity perfume. I wouldn't be surprised if Victoria's Secret had an identical scent. I wouldn't buy it though because sweet pomegranate scents always veer into headache territory for me.

SuzanneCA

I, like others, was not expecting to like Sexy Ruby, as I (sadly) have previously not been a fan of Michael Kors fragrances. However, this little gem :) surprised me. Very rich, fruity fragrance which lives up to its name. It's absolutely sweet and sexy. The predominant apricot note is lovely. Eager to add this to my collection.

OlfactoryLover

You're at a bar or a house party and someone knocks into you spilling your glass of rosé/champagne all down you. This fragrance perfectly captures this moment with the opening! The dry down is just as bad.

Not one for the office/work or while driving as people will think you're an alcoholic.

Malibu

Sexy Ruby is a fruity amber mix, centering around raspberry and rose. There's not a lot to add; this is just a lighter version of Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge, with a helping of Victoria's Secret Very Sexy [the newest version] thrown in.

This is not a bad fragrance, but there's nothing original here and the sillage/longevity is neither poor or great [it averages at six/seven hours and goes close to the skin quickly], so it doesn't stand out to me and leave a lasting impression.

If you love Modern Muse Le Rouge or Very Sexy but struggle to wear them as they are intense, then this softer version might work for you.

drugstore classics

Well... not what I expected on several levels.

The tester bottle nozzle (and indeed, dry down on the test strip) of Sexy Ruby smells remarkably like a less rounded version of Sexy Amber. It is warm, pretty, and womanly. Perhaps the cashmeran? But the top notes are fruity and of course, on me, rather sour. This is just a chemistry issue, but it smelled rather like pink grapefruit, or perhaps red currant and pink pepper. I would NEVER have guessed that tangy sweet opening was courtesy of apricot/raspberry, but now that I see the notes it makes vague sense.

As for the impact of this release itself:

Those who love the color RED will undoubtedly buy Sexy Ruby, if only for the jolt of electric enthusiasm such vivid color brings. I can also see some men buying it for their wives/girfriends for Christmas, associating their completely hot woman with the packaging!

Some Sexy Amber fans may well enjoy a different take on that classic and yet modern release. While the Amber is richer, this is by no means a poorly blended perfume, and seems more appealing to me than the average department store release.

But for my money a bottle of Sexy Amber smells a LOT more expensive, rich, and seductive!

Kittycat63

I came across this in a department store yesterday, had a sniff, wasn't repulsed (as happens with some designer perfumes!!) and decided to test it on my wrist.

At first it was quite blandly fruity, much like a body spray kind of smell. I could detect the raspberry and I could have sworn there was some patchouli in there, which gave it a bit more depth (but usually I DETEST stinky patchpoopy!) but I don't see that listed in the notes on here. I found the cheap body spray vibe a bit annoying but after a couple of hours or so the perfume smelled a lot nicer and more like an actual perfume! In fact, it began to grow on me, and I was getting pleasant little whiffs of it as I moved around.

It has now lasted for 24 hours on my wrist and I can still easily smell it, which surprises me as I thought it would fade quite quickly as a lot of over-priced designer perfumes do in recent times (i.e. Dior's Blooming Bouquet, which I love but it evaporates in the blink of an eye!), but so has my blend of 2 Al-Rehab perfume oils on my other wrist, which create a similar fruity aroma but with a lovely soapy / rosy twist for a tiny fraction of what Sexy Ruby costs!

Is this a sexy perfume? Not really. Sexy Amber is much sexier! Is it ground-breaking? No. Is it likeable? Yes. Worth the price tag? Not in my opinion but there are numerous far less likeable, fairly expensive designer perfumes out there than this one!

Arlene-Beatrix

Nice fruity scent and nothing more. After few hours I can barely smell it.

Mich03

Different to the usual drydown of Michael Kors scents which is of course the white floral.
Tested it 3 times on my skin. Convinced myself it was full bottle worthy even though it did seem soft and soft is not really my thing. I thought the occasional smell I got of cozy ness would work for me but I was wrong. No idea what it smells of really. Quite bland. Taking it back. The only perfume I have ever returned!

supergirl9412

I'm not a fan of Michael Kors fragrances, but this is probably the most successful, least annoying perfumes from this brand.

The apricot was really interesting to me (I've never smelled a perfume with an apricot note!) and was the most prominent note. The raspberry-apricot/jasmine-rose dance was strongly present in the midphase, but it wasn't cloying or annoying. (I'm generally not a fan of berries/fruits and roses.) About an hour later, I smell the apricot and cashmere with just a small touch of rose.

Sillage and longevity are just ok for this perfume.

This is just an okay fragrance, and I probably won't be purchasing it, but it is one of the best MK fragrances thus far.

Scent2Bed

Unfortunately, this will be another one in the series of failed fragrances for this house. This is the exact opposite of what the original Michael Kors fragrance was all about. LVMH launched the original fragrance and positioned it as a luxury brand; however, Aramis Designer Brands took the golden goose and killed it dead... and drove over the dead body with a ton of flankers that are completely underwhelming.

I am sure that by October/November this would be featured in a One Day Sale promotion at Macy's at a discounted price. At this time, it's a race to the bottom. What a shame AND what a great missed opportunity for this house.

The Michael Kors brand had so much potential, and it has become so ordinary... someone needs to rescue this franchise before the other flankers: Sexy Emerald, Sexy Diamond, Sexy (Insert precious stone's name here) hit the market!

And naming the fragrances like a Victoria's Secret undergarment or a stripper is a new low... congratulations on lowering the bar to a new level.

Astar

Really poor silage and longevity is close to nothing. Apricot notes are very, very prominent, and with a dry down it turns into one of those highly generic scents, one of many, with no character and slight ambition to be recognisable. Somehow I couldn't really smell raspberry, although typically, it's one of my favourite notes that I distinguish straight away.

Mollycat

I purchased Sexy Ruby after smelling the scent strip in a magazine. It's top notes are lovely but the fragrance faded very quickly and the fragrances longevity is poor. It is not my favorite Kors fragrance and I own quite a few of them. I would not consider this fragrance "sexy" by any means. It is a very average scent but nothing unique or is it a fragrance I would apply for evening dress. Kors has launched other more desirable fragrances for sure.....an example, in my opinion, is Sexy Rio de Janeiro! Now that one lives up to the name sexy!

lizzyshreds

So I decided to buy this perfume. I get magazines in the mail for years now, and this perfume is in the September issues of Elle, Vogue, and Vanity Fair. I took some time on this. I personally think out of everything being released so far for fall releases this is one of the better perfumes. I have been selective on what perfumes I have been buying this year, and I really have to like it enough to buy it. There is a edge to this perfume, it's light sparkling. I would say this is the best Michael Kors perfume since Wonderlust last year, I don't like Sensual Essence it's plastic like. I also think Sexy Ruby is the best perfume out of the Sexy line, the others aren't as in depth as this one is. Great for fall. I would say more of a evening perfume.

jennifer.lynn.wason

Ok so I have several perfumes. I was really really excited by all the hype around this perfume. The packaging and everything that evolved around promoting this perfume looked so promising. I sprayed it on when I go it and at first ...it did not impress me at all. Nothing above and beyond. I had such high expectations I guess. The perfume itself is not bad. Longevitiy is fabulous. But it smells like your standard perfumee. I ended up just buying it for the name basically. Oh well. I was wondering why they did not have a tester bottle out on the counter???? Nothing too sexy about this perfume. I did take it back and got Gucci Bloom. Which is fabulous.

Nataja

Sorry this time not my cup of tes! Sexy? Ummm no! just a normal summer fruity sccent, asked a guy at the store what his impression was and he just screamed to wash it off...

leslee.long.5

I haven't had the opportunity yet to give this a full test but I have some initial impressions.

This is not a girlish jammy and cloyingly sweet concoction but a well balanced blend of the fruit with the ever so slightly green jasmine blended with the cashmere wood to round it out.

The apricot has a ripeness to it that isn't mushy and overripe but slightly more under ripe and still firm. The raspberry adds a light blend to the fruit.

Jasmine is not heady and indolic but fragrant of the leaves and blossoms on a cool morning.

The cashmere wood is not overdone and artificial.

Is this a stand out fragrance? No. Safe blind buy and office wear territory, but a very nicely done modern, that doesn't smell cheap.

MsMixtape

I smelled this on a tester strip at the Michael Kors store. It's a sexy-fruity perfume, quite lovely.

lulu169

I love everything with apricot - cant wait to try it!
