I LOVED this perfume from the moment I smelled it, it reminds me of Maison Margiela's Lazy Sunday Morning but clearly the cheaper version. It is not chemical as some suggested but you can definitely smell the alcohol, but that goes away really quickly. I love wearing this around the home as it is a very light scent, definitely not a going out scent. I prefer layering this but I never wear it on its own especially when I want to make an impression

Monotheme White Gardenia opens with a yucky chemical blast that thankfully dies down in a minute or two. But, to my nose, at least, it never becomes a beautiful, rich gardenia scent; it's like a bad version of one of my favorite gardenia fragrances of all time, Tous Gold. You can find Tous Gold online for even less than Monotheme White Gardenia, so I would say the Tous is your best bet for fresh gardenia scents.

Mystères du Château de Dé

A gardenia that doesn't seek attention. Perhaps Monotheme's foundational idea was about soliflores yet none of the fragrances are only one note. Still, this White Gardenia is a good option to add some gardenia to another fragrance. It does smell more like gardenia than jasmine and I don't smell any other distinct note, although I don't have a great nose for musk.

Speaking of my nose. White Gardenia is one of those fragrances featuring molecules that pull disappearing acts for my nose. This fragrance disappears after 5 minutes. Then it reemerges on the regular, whenever it overcomes my olfactive fatigue.

I enjoy some dirt cheap discount white florals, and I even get a kick out those with rude notes. This is just gardenia with no other offending notes.

I'm baffled by this bad review of Monotem Gardia.
The scent of Gardia I use is very light and shows a proper scent that does not offend others, and the scent of the white flowers I smelled in summer is so good that it smells good.
It's a cologne that I'm saving a lot on the scent of white flowers that's not greasy and clean at a surprisingly low price.
Why is the score so low? This perfume is undervalued.

I’ve tested several of them and picked White Gardenia and Agrumi di Sicilia. One can try and find an affordable delight out of this range to suit their own preferences. They are very cheap (at Chemist Warehouse), but don’t smell cheap. One can spend much more and not get much better. The cute retro apothecary bottles and boxes are crafted with greater care than one would expect for the price. White Gardenia, perhaps, resembles EA 5th Avenue, but better. It seems to last longer on skin (for about an hour or two) than on fabric. As to Agrumi di Sicilia, it smells better in the air than on the skin. They’ll be used as a body or hair mist, as well as a room freshener. I sprayed both over the bed, and it was like falling asleep in a garden.

PS: I’ve reconsidered using fragrances when going to bed since this review. Who knows what’s in them? Better to reduce your exposure at least when you sleep. You are not conscious anyway and your smell receptors need a break.

I don't know what dafaq I just smelled . . smells like old books. Nothing Gardenia or fresh floral.

Bought it following (and thanks to) one reviewer who said that this is almost the copy of kenzo parfume d'ete. As this is discontinued, I could not live without it and looked for a replacement. Of course, it is not so concentrated and the compostion is not so complex (it does not perform such transitions as kenzo), but it is a completely nice perfume. I like it and I use it regularly. Cannot imagine a persone who would dislike it, so it is a safe buy. I hope they don't stop producing.

Upon spraying, this will hit you like a hammer - it is sour and strong. Same when you press your nose against the spot you sprayed it - rubbery and heavy floral, almost bitter tasting. Let this beauty flow around you, feel it from the whiffs you get when you move around, and you will realize how beautiful it is. To my nose, it really catches the essence of the gardenia smell - it's classy and cold white floral. It has better performance, compared to Elizabeth Taylor's Gardenia and I think the gardenia scent is more accurate here. This beauty is a steal for the price, so do not think twice if you are a fan of white florals.

This is a shy Gardenia fragrance which sits close to the skin without drawing attention to itself.

Gardenia perfumes are my favourites and for me this is a pure Gardenia with nothing added.

I always think of Gardenia as a wedding flower and I would happily wear this to a wedding so not to distract from all the other florals and perfumes wafting through the air.

Monotheme make beautiful perfumes and the bottles are gorgeous, so far there are no fragrances I do not like.

There is more gardenia to it than in Gorgeous Gardenia by Gucci. But still this is not real gardenia flower.

I can scent: soapy white flower, cold as gardenia is, but with less pronounced jasmine note (typical for gardenias), with the same gardenia sad sweetnes and somewhat "rubbery" scent of thick leathery petals.

It smells more like mix of gardenia and jonquil.

raiza1990

I get a cold, a bit critic and soapy gardenia. Not really nice and sillage is terrible.

Very musky and citric, like a rotten jasmine, I didn't like it at all. Nothing to do with an actual gardenia

Panda68

Really like this...not synthetic...a lovely delicate natural gardenia scent.

Mellyhelly

One of the few I like from Monotheme. It's cheaply done but smells nice floral and vaguely true to the actual flower. It makes a good start, refreshing white floral on the clean side, with citruses probably hiding sythetical flower, then fades quite quickly to a lifeless generic one but not unpleasant. A casual wear for spring.

This is a very pretty, delicate and feminine scent and to me it smells of lily of the valley even though its not in the notes. This maybe why someone has compared it to Kenzo D'ete. I love it but am looking for something which projects a little more even though it lasts a while on my skin - it stays a bit too close.

This perfume opens up as a fresh floral which even at first spray does not smell alcoholic . What I love about this perfume is that, not only can you really smell the flowers( it's almost as if someone picked flowers and pressed them to make juice; a NATURAL one, not some cosmetic stuff), it is magically delicate. key word. delicate. this perfume does not spread to the whole neighborhood when you walk, which may be nice. the wearer becomes the one who decides who can smell the perfume making it very intimal in use due to its laid-back characteristics. In the meantime, it has a pretty long staying power and seems to wrap the person round a flowery smell combined to one that REALLY reminds me of honey and lemon together, something that makes this perfume IMO an extremely flowery original. Although it may seem a classic flowery smell, don't be fooled, give it some time because I could swear it seems like somebody melted honey in the bottle as well especially when it dries down; obviously, not the sugary part of the honey, but that tickly part which awakens the senses ( I hope I make sense :/). All I can add is that it's delicate and simply beautiful, genuine. Someone wearing this smells fresh, cleaned from nature's fields, respectful to people’s nose and head, laid-back but determined at the same time. In one word, it is the smell of courtesy mixed with sincerity. it is the equivalent of that truth that hurts, but is so appreciated when expressed kindly. It might not be a super-brand perfume nor very known like CK perfumes or Chanel ones but who cares...if it smells nice whatever with the brand! this is a demonstration of one of those exceptional goods that are affordable and have quality. This fragrance seems to teach people to judge something by what it contains and not by the brand name. A true exception that requires patience ,people who are confident and don't necessarily need to show off when someone asks you what you are wearing, because TRUST ME they will!! (btw I hope I am talking about the same exact perfume. The picture is a bit different probably a more adjourned version of the same I am reviewing but the name is exactly the same) hope you'll Enjoy it like I do! good luck
