This smells soooo good, if you are not a fan of sweet fragrances you will not like this at all. This smells straight up just like a nice hot chocolate and it projects a LOT

anamawsity

Upon the first spray, I really like this. It sweet and decadent and smells similar to Comptoir Sud Pacifique’s Amour de Cacao or how I expected Oakcha’s Choco Break to smell. HOWEVER after a few minutes, the sweetness fades and smells weirdly bready on my skin—almost identical to Chabaud’s Lait Concentré, which I am not a fan of. On the other hand, I wouldn’t say it’s similar to Billie’s Eilish which smells like a basic vanilla body spray on me. Chocolate Greedy has minimal sillage and lasts about 7 hours.

T.Hans.L

Fantastic dark chocolate opening, in 10–15 minutes it becomes sweeter, a little bit fruitier. Reminds me of expensive chocolate cookie. Longevity up to 7 hours with moderate projection, softer than other montale fragrances, but in a good way.

I am so in love with the opening notes it reminds me of my favorite childhood orange biscuits. The problem is, the opening note doesn't last and the dry down scent makes me nauseated. Please, can someone suggest a perfume that has a dry down scent same to the opening scent of Montale chocolate greedy? Thank you guys so much I will appreciate an any suggestion.

SirVojta

You can smell every note here. I dont catch much the coffee. But i all starts with chocolate with orange and then transfrom into nice christmas scent. Literally smells like christmas. Probably wont be wearing it, but on christmas it must smell wonderful

AinoKaroliina

Cacao powder with sweetness from the dried fruit and vanilla. I don't really sense the coffee note. To me this has some spices like the kinds used in Christmas desserts, perhaps a touch of cinnamon and cardamom. This is not giving "delicious rich chocolate cake" vibes in my opinion, but I still like it. Maybe a bit overrated though.

First Impressions on paper:
This one really wowed me out of all the samples that I have today. It smells like if you took Oui plus and add lira together to make a creamy chocolate perfume. Oooo this is good, and I’m not a gourmand fan. Edit 1:
Okay I turned this fragrance to a like. On my skin it smells too powdery. In the beginning, it starts off as a chocolate bar, brownie batter with some dried fruits. As it dries down, It smells like you huffed Hershey’s cocoa baking powder on the dry down. Oui plus is much more of a toasted warm spicy chocolate. I unfortunately I live in a hot climate, but this may be someone’s signature if they are more north. I also feel like it smells like chocolate protein powder, or is it just me?
Edit 2:
Yeah this does give off cheap body spray, not to mention it is quite synthetic.
Verdict- pass too powdery.

faunwand

It goes perfectly when cosplaying as a chocolate bar.

rosewoodoud555

Omg. This is amazing. Montale has a lot in common with Arabian Oud, the Saudi niche house. Chocolate Greedy's drydown is to die for. It opens with a dry cocoa accord. Sweet and powdery. My dad describes it as similar to a Milo tin being opened. There's a bright burst of orange in the first few hours. The drydown is where this shines. I smell the cocoa accord strongly, but the vanilla musk — present in AO frags like Solid — cuts through. It's sweet, delectable, and still, light and balanced. Wearable even in hot weather and not too cloying. It's more complex than what the opening suggests.

Performance is awesome. Prominent scent bubble, projects, lasts on clothes until the day after. It makes me feel confident: the perfect casual frag for gourmand lovers in the tropics! Surprisingly OK for Fridays at the office too!

Edit: Love layering this with ELDO's Divin Enfant! It softens the harsh tabacco and brings out the coffee notes, and overall makes it wearable. Killer night out combo

laurenroberts12

I wanted to love it....but, it reminds me of the smell of Swisher Sweets little cigars. Kinda a dusty vanilla smell. I wouldn't recommend. I do get coffee and vanilla on the dry down. The chocolate fades quickly to that dusty smell I'd referred to. Medium siage, medium projection, medium last.

dudleypiggott

Not great, openings pretty horrible not to mention it comes in a cheap hairspray can, not worth the price point which shows how bad it is

Anastuki

Yes, the name is Chocolate Greedy but, as seen in the notes also, this is more of a cacao smell, not a creamy chocolate, but more of a dry cacao powder, or cacao cake / cookies. With that being said, it is amazing and yummy! Very realistic gourmand! The first time I sprayed this on, my man said: "Oh my god you smell so good! What is this, it's so sweet, smells like something eatable".

I like it on its own and also layering with other perfumes, some examples:

1. Chocolate Greedy + Vanilla Cake Montale
2. Chocolate Greedy + Eilish
3. Chocolate Greedy + Angel Muse Mugler
4. Chocolate Greedy + Bianco Latte

nycbored

Smells like a worse version of Cheirosa 71 with some added chocolate. Not worth it.

Maya lilac

Chocolate Greedy is Montale’s best, most decadent gourmand. A delicious, thick, velvety vanilla, rich coffee, a dusty, powdery cocoa pod, sweetened dried fruits, tonka beans and some barely noticeable hints of bitter oranges! It has a biscuit quality to it, kind of smell like Italian vanilla biscotti. Or Ferrero Rocher candy!

It’s a very photorealistic gourmand, to me it’s smells like expensive chocolate candies/cake. Smells delicious, not too synthetic and not too sweet. It’s the perfect fragrance if you want to smell edible!

I’ m in love with this scent. Whenever I spray it on me, makes me feel happy instantly. And comforted. It’s like a warm hug..

The longevity is really great and I have received compliments from people when I wore Chocolate Greedy. I can easily smell myself most of the day and creates a nice scent bubble around me.

I would say it leans more feminine. Better suited for fall and winter weather, since it’s so sweet and potent.

Well worth owning in my opinion! Very affordable priced.

I am not stating here that it’s a unique smelling fragrance, but as of 2024, I (still) don’t have anything very similar smelling to Chocolate Greedy! There might be something, but I haven’t gotten my nose on it yet.

LittleBoost

I mean this perfume does not need another review but here we are. I’ve been searching for primarily chocolate and honey/beeswax based scents, so with a name like Chocolate Greedy, it had to happen.

Everyone who has said freeze-dried Terry’s chocolate orange or chocolate wafer cookies is spot on. It’s very dry, almost powdery with a very strong orange opening. There was a Lush body bar that was released almost 10 years ago that smells very similar to this, so there is a nostalgia component for me. People around me seem to pick up mostly vanilla with a little bit of chocolate when worn.

Performance wise, within a few minutes I am completely nose blind to it and feel like I wasted my time. HOWEVER, even though I have a decent collection of sweeter gourmands, this has hands down gotten me the most compliment from friends/family, even after hours of wear. I usually combine it with Ansaam Gold, Pure Honey or Caramel Dream for maximum compliments. It’s not mind blowing by itself but has become a layering staple when Choco Musk doesn’t last long enough. I don’t honestly think it’s worth the price, but if you can find it on Marketplace or discounted then it will likely last you a while.

Revontuli

I'm not very fond of too realistic, bakery-like gourmands. This is clearly cocoa powder, not the chocolate itself (as many others have also said, this is freshly baked chocolate cake). In the opening, the orange was so dominant, and it smelt like sponge cake; I thought for a minute that they filled the sample bottle with a completely different juice.

I'm glad I tested it first. Do not look for your dark chocolate here. For that, I would go for Akro's Dark.

Chloerose666

Bought a sample of this on my hunt for the perfect chocolate fragrance. Unfortunately this is not the one, its incredibly strong and cloying, borderline overwhelming in the first few hours.
It smells like a badly burnt, over vanillaed batch of brownies that you're already too full to try but you force down anyway and then you're sick. I love chocolate smells and I don't mind a good gourmand but honestly this is bad. Sorry Montale!

I have over half of the sample left and I've been working up the courage to try it again for 2 months haha. I will try it again in the coming weeks and update!

update- ok I think I was probably a little too scathing the first time around. It was one of the first samples I'd tried and so didnt have much to compare it to. If you want a cocoa chocolatey gourmand with a bit of vanilla going on, and you want it to last all day this might be for you. I get the hints of orange to start with and it kind of smells like a Terrys choc orange in cake form, with a coffee on the side. Its a coldish, rainy, grim day as I write this and I will admit the choc greedy is giving me some yummy gourmand comfort.

I definitely over sprayed for the first try and that made me wrongly judge the fragrance, I'm really enjoying it this time around!

LinnieR

Don’t get me wrong, I like this scent when it has dried down. Then the scent is soft but has a strong projection and last forever. HOWEVER, when applying this it makes me cough like crazy. It’s something extremely drying and cloying about it, physically irritating my throat and nose. The coughing only last for a minute or two, but it happened every time I try it so far. I have never, ever, had this reaction to a perfume before, not even when drowsing myself in cheap celebrity perfumes as a 12 year old. Glad I only got a sample

RIRVINE20

Chocolate Greedy is Montale’s Best work. Smells like someone just crushed up a bunch of Oreos and threw them at you then covered you in iced coffee. There’s mellow fruits but not as prominent as others say, in my opinion.

Great at Christmas Time. And I find it lasts around 8hrs in cooler conditions. You can get these dirt cheap on discounters as well. Definitely worth it if you buy it from somewhere reputable. Grab a sample if you want but I think this is quite blind buy safe.

Hope you love it as much as I do! :)

colorblindlove

Smells like oranges covered in chocolate but ofc I smell more of the orange since I hate that note in perfumes. I’m thankful that I got a sample vial and not the full bottle.

DuneN

Dry cheap coco powder

Antoshka2

Not as chocolatey as I was expecting but it smells a lot like cocoa butter with a little whiff of hot chocolate. If you like the smell of Palmers cocoa butter formula then you will love this. I do and I wear them both at the same time and I’m completely enveloped in a cocoa butter bubble. I’ve used most of mine just sat at home relaxing because it’s so warm and comforting so I’ve not got much feedback from others in the way of compliments but I really just like it a lot. Kinda smells like you’ve been baking. Very nice. I don’t actually know how safe it is because I suppose it’s quite unusual but it’s definitely not unpleasant. Could be a little cheaper though and unfortunately after reading the review below I can now detect bacon smell which I was completely oblivious to before reading that. I really wish I hadn’t read it because I can’t un-smell it now! Waaah! 😭😭😂

diateacakes

My husband has it, and when he sprays it on, it starts as a beautiful chocolate-y vanilla, yet it dries down as vanilla and bacon to me, which is very funny

jxssicamidnight

Chocolate disappeared on me in the dry down and was left with plastic popcorn smell? I’m really confused by this one!

Babatundas

The best chocolate smell I've ever smelt. The performance is very good and the sillage is pretty good too. For the price this one is a no brainer imo.

SmellMasterBoss

Smells more feminine but unisex at the same time because it smells like choclate cookies but sweeter.

parvatishallow

Tried this and I thought it was more nutty than chocolatey. It also smells quite dry because of said nuttiness. Like a very dry chocolate smell with a hint of orange.

The dry down to me is a more complex version of Al Rehab: Choco Musk but it's not interesting enough for me to full bottle. If you like gourmands, go for this, but if you dislike nutty fragrances then this probably is not for you.

Bergamet

I just came across this page again and was reminded about how stupid I felt to have blind bought this, hilariously I found out a few weeks after my purchase that a friend had done the same thing and was also regretting it. We both sold out bottles.

bowls1749

I couldn’t fault the fragrance for it’s performance and longevity, but It’s sweetness upon sweetness so won’t be to everyone’s liking, adding some more citrus to the to cut through all the sweetness would add some balance. Do not overspray this one, especially if you’re wearing it indoors

zawwarahmad

top: Choco Greedy pistachio pastry, chocolate, gourmand, orange, warm, nutty
middle:candy, butter, chocolate, warm, nutty
base: almost gone, chocolate
9/10! a little too strong in the beginning.

menmen

I got this to curb my hunger for bianco latte, yes they're barely similar I just wanted a nice powdery everyday vanilla and this is fine but it just made me want bianco latte even more.
First spray citrusy chocolate however it stings my nose like crazyyy, I have to hold my breath for the first 10-15 seconds or my throat would burn. After that a pleasant powdered chocolate. I'm not wowed by it but I'm not too disappointed either it's surprisingly easy to wear I am a bit shocked it's not as beastly as many people claim it is.

tsolum

This smells like protein powder with oreo flavour i had many years ago. So for me, nah.

CustardBunny

It smells just like chocolate wafers (swedish KexChoklad)
And its not heavy cacao its very light. Like a cup of hot chocolate somebody put in another room.
It becomes heavy on the brain after a few hours so id say wear it over a small moment like a picknic or something and then wash it off

rainfortheend

Chocolate cookie. So gooey delicious in the opening! I'm getting a touch of mint, too. So like a Thin Mint, but gooey. Pretty photorealistic and not "perfumey" — just cookie. The scent collapses into straight cocoa butter after 30m. Would be good for layering -- if you love the scent of straight cocoa butter

JJ2137

I am surprised that there is no hazelnut accord in notes list present. For me this pops later, lasts a very long time, and is ultimately very nauseating.

Zactel

I think I have a coworker who wears this and it smells so goddamn good. It literally smells like powder cocoa. I guess it can be unisex but I think this a no brainer for the ladies, especially young ones since the scent is so sweet. And the price for this fragrance is really good for niche at discounters.

ljsmith

Do blue fur and googly eyes fill you with mortal dread? Are you an anthropomorphic big warm soft gooey chocolate chip cookie? You may be wearing Chocolate Greedy.

Rosiewebber

Oh I love this. The opening is like chocolate orange biscuits, then the orange fades and it becomes a kind of hot chocolate scent. The vanilla note in it is identical to that in vanille absolu and sweet vanilla, but mixed with cocoa. It is somewhat similar to choco musk, but that is more a milk chocolate and vanilla, and this is more cocoa powder. I love both regardless, and they would layer together beautifully.
I do appreciate this may not be for everyone, I can imagine the cocoa may be too powdery for some. But if you’re looking for a chocolatey baked goods scent, you’ve found it.

Shukky

opening is a powdery chocolate orange, like a mummified terrys orange, but as it dries down and develops on the skin the synthetic bitter coffee and vanilla turn this into a chocolate biscuit dipped in milk. projects like crazy and is very sweet which would be a like, however it is VERY gourmand, in the worst way possible, and the stale milky soggy biscuit quality of the dry down becomes genuinely sickening after a while! inexplicably nauseating and i suspect it's to do with the vanilla in a lot of "sweeter" montale fragrance as i had a similar issue with sweet vanille, had to scrub this one right off too :( choco musk is a million times cheaper, well rounded scent profile, and the chocolate isn't intensely powdery like this. glad i just got a sample otherwise this would've been a massive fail!

Vivid Laser Eye Gawd

I like this. The name is highly misleading. This smells nothing like real chocolate. This smells like smashed Coco Puffs. I like to layer this with vanilla, chocolate and boozy fragrances.

rene.saller

I puzzled over whether this was more masc or more femme, deciding in the end that the desire to smell like chocolate cupcake frosting is probablly a gender neutral proposition. There might be a faint twinge of orange extract or another sweet-tart fruit, perhaps a dash of espresso for depth, but basically this is just a straight-up gourmand chocolate fragrance. It doesn't develop much, and it doesn't have the complexity of Intense Cafe, but if you just want to smell as much like chocolate as possible, this is the juice for you.

Wearing this today, it reminds me a bit of unwrapping a fancy chocolate bar, the kind that you buy at a virtuous little fair-trade shop as a gift for a thoughtful hostess. It reminds me of the chocolate bars with the marmalade filling or the kind with the little bits of candied orange peel distributed throughout the chocolate. There is enough orange that I'm thinking my friend Cat won't like it, since she tends not to like orange in her chocolate, which is a pity because I think she would like the chocolate accord.

I also think people might be getting noseblind to these nuclear Montale musks because I put one spray of this baby on a test strip, and I could still smell it distinctly four days later.

Goldena35

Straight tootsie roll opening. This is what I imagine when I think of a chocolate scent. I’m going to see what develops but right now (first 10 minutes) I get a little powder and creamy vanilla and a little something bitter from somewhere (possibly the coffee/ orange).
Overall after wearing this, I feel like this is fairly linear …not saying that in a negative way though. A photorealistic chocolate scent …I saw @SullyOgo referenced brownies and I definitely get that vibe as well. It’s has a chewiness to it. It’s in the name and in this perfume it’s true…if you want to smell like chocolate …Chocolate Greedy delivers.

**EDIT** Ohhh I just read a comment about layering and I could not agree more. I think this would be very conducive in that application! Also I want to say I did not have to search for this scent. It was very present around me.

amecinnamon

I was so excited for this, I LOVE the smell. It's so buttery and smells like fresh baked chocolate orange brownies. I am however so disappointed in the longevity. I saw people saying this was a beast so I got hopes up, on my skin it only lasted about 1-2 hours and on clothes about 3-4 tops, even those estimates are me giving it the benefit of the doubt. I got a sample pack so I'm glad I didn't buy a full bottle, if anyone has any dupes that smell like this but have actual longevity please please please suggest some 🙇

SullyOgo

i would recommend this fragrance to anyone. if your looking for a brownie chocolate kind of scent then this would be perfect. it opens up smelling like a freshly baked chocolate cake with some nice orange and dried fruits to give it some depth, and it dries down into more of a vanilla chocolatey smell with some fruits in the back. the scent is absolutely amazing and i would give it a 9/10. i can’t skip over the performance in this review, this fragrance lasts for around 12 hours on my skin and projects great for the first 6 hours, after this time it will still project well but it quiets down a bit. this is by far my most complimented fragrance and whenever i wear it around my girlfriend shes constantly sniffing my neck. this fragrance does lean quite feminine but i wear this as a man and everyone i know loves it. overall i’d give it a 9/10 and would recommend to anyone.

williamsh13

I like this fragrance once it has dried down and once it has it has a sweet cocoa smell with hints of orange
but what i didnt like was the opening, it was so synthetic and slightly sickening.

ginandrice

Sweet, synthetic, fruity chocolate.

As someone who's been craving chocolate notes lately, I was hoping to like this. To my disappointment, I find it overly synthetic and a little cloying. Almost banal. I like the gourmand sweetness of chocolate scents, but I need some depth and earthiness to balance it out, and I don't get any of that here. The coffee note does give Chocolate Greedy a little smidge of darkness, but it's a smooth, syrupy darkness, without any sort of depth or weight.

The Vibe: you're looking after a child and she wants chocolate milk. You find Nesquik and a jug of 2% in the fridge. You pour a glass and stir in the chocolate while she talks to her scented doll at the kitchen table. The doll must be new; its fruity-vanilla-plastic scent is strong, mingling with the smell of sticky chocolate syrup. You decide to make a glass of chocolate milk for yourself too, but it's sweeter and blander than you remember it being, and you don't want to finish it. The doll's hair has fallen into the chocolate milk. You reach for a dishcloth.

KatieDawber

I wanted to love this fragrance so much. I first sprayed on my partner and the smell was amazing, I was so excited to wear it. When I did I was surprised by how little it smelt like chocolate to me, the more time that passed the more I felt as though I smelt of a rubber glove. When I read other reviews that mentioned it smelt like basketball I immediately made that connection too. I was really hoping this could be somewhat of a replacement for me for the Tim Tam perfume that came out for a very limited time a few years back, sadly I am still on the search for a fragrance that compares to that.

geminigem

i was so ready to get a full bottle of this when i first tested it on paper but on my skin was a different story…
on paper, chocolate greedy is mostly a deliciously sweetened cocoa powder scent with a hint of orange. it’s similar to choco musk but that smells more like a hot cocoa drink mix with added vanilla whereas this has a deeper rich cacao scent that’s also been sweetened. the powderiness was there on paper but it wasn’t overwhelming. on my skin however, the sweetness seems to almost evaporate and i’m in a cloud of just dense and almost bitter cocoa powder. i still get the orange and some of the sweetness is still there but chocolate greedy just goes waaay too powdery on the skin for me. longevity is insane (i can still smell it on the tester strip and pieces of clothing i sprayed this on DAYS later) with moderate projection so the performance is great. overall, it’s not full bottle worthy for me because of my skin chemistry but it’s still a delicious scent and great performer that is worth it if it works for you

Karabialas17

I really love the opening note, it smells of a rich chocolate cake with a hint of citrus! However after about 15min the scent dries down to a weird playdough- like scent on my skin. The longevity and sillage also performed very poorly on me. Very disappointed with it.

GrenadeGirl

This is a fabulous scent.. if you're happy to spend the day smelling of a certain brand of chocolate hazelnut spread.

On me, I didn't get the orange note at all, and I found the projection to sit quite close, however it lasts and lasts and lasts!!!!

This is a gorgeous, comforting, gourmand hug of a scent that just envelopes you in happy vibes!!

Personally, for me it is a strong like as I'm older and I kinda don't feel the need to smell like food, however my young adult daughter utterly ADORES it!!

100% worth a test for all gourmand fans!!!

Perfumeaddict84

I am glad I got a sample of this I think it’s a really beautiful fragrance but I don’t think it is worth the price there is no longevity and the orange note goes away almost immediately which is fine I have just had better experience with another chocolate perfume that is more affordable and smells better.

bowbonita

This smells like cocoa powder but sweeter. People say that they smeel the orange but 90% of the time i don't. This is my first gourmand fragrance and i'm obsessed. It has a crazy sillage too. It's the best perfume without being perfumey. It's perfect for holiday season. I'm glad that i can't smell any dried fruits. I also hate tonka but maybe i don't smell it or i like the way it works in this perfume. I bought this as a date fragrance but i can wear it everyday🍫

irogers217

when I first got this, I used to use it as a daily scent, I used to love this. Further down, I asked my self, 'why do you want to smell like pure chocolate everyday?' From then, I kinda put the bottle aside.

Good scent, nonetheless, not to versatile, as you do get sick of it sometimes. 6.5/10

876Beauty

When I just got this fragrance, I was surely disappointed but after revisiting it after over a month, I am hooked!!! I thought Nebras was my favourite chocolate fragrance but this is THE ONE!!! Smells like a rich decadent chocolate cake!!

samudex

In the opening I smell a corn note that I also found on Ch Bad Boy. But then it turns into a Choco Krispies smell. I like the dry down but not the opening. Is not that versatile, but it definitely fills it's purpose, a fragrance with a strong cacao note. It's very long lasting. This is a good example of gourmand fragrances.

Bordo

On paper it was very rich creamy chocolate, almost like hazelnut creme/Nutella or some chocolate praline. But on my it is no longer that creamy and rich chocolate. Instead, it is a delicious chocolate cookie, with plenty of beautiful vanilla in it, like an actual baked good, but with no "bakery/baking" scent, which might be too photorealistic for some. It is delicious, edible, strong and longlasting. Projection is not crazy and I think it is alright. Also glad I'm not getting much of orange, which is plus for me, as I wasn't looking for chocolate orange scent 👌🏻 a must in any chocolate/gourmand lover's collection.

smwl

On first spray, this is 100% chocolate orange. Ultra sweet cocoa with deep, syrupy orange oil flavour. A few hours later on dry down, to me it smells like a rich fruit granola - honeyed oats and chewy raisins, maybe with a few curls of dark chocolate. Longevity is great, projection is middling on me personally (but I'm not sure if that is just nose blindness). Beautifully warm, cosy, winter gourmand.

Christer0619

Live this very much chocolate cake fresh out the oven but ok me it stays Max 30 min, very dissapointed

Laila C

Terrys chocolate orange in a bottle!!! ❤️ actually no, it’s what Carluccios call: Bicolet. Liquid, rich drinking chocolate, served with pouring cream, some candies orange pieces in the side of the saucer… Absolute perfection and exactly what I needed to get me into the Christmas mood this year.

sibaraa

This opens up like an old chocolate wafer with some orange that i wished it lasted throughout but it didn't, it soon switched to a chocolaty vanilla. I will enjoy the 3 samples i got until i find my favorite 🍫 🍊 perfume. Nonetheless it's a stunning perfume, so worth owning

roi2371

it stains clothes be careful

lyzdavis

Blessedly for me I don't pick up on any of the less-appealing-to-me notes in this: bitter orange or dried fruits. There is nothing "warm spicy" about this to me either. And no coffee - although that I wouldn't mind.

Thankfully all I get is chocolate - a biscuity-buttery chocolate croissant. Sure, I'm a perfume rube who just wants to smell literally edible all the time, but it's not overly artificial to me at all. It's far from headache inducing, instead it's just warm and comforting. Projects within an arm's length with 3 sprays all over and I actually LOVE how linear and non-complex it remains thoughtout the day - I don't want the chocolate to leave, so I'm glad it doesn't. And because it's a chocolate that's not too warm or spicy or heavy, I can see myself wearing it year-round which is exciting.

10/10 and worthy of a full bottle spot in my limited collection, but only after I finish my current chocolate fragrance, Over the Chocolate Shop. Just don't ask me to compare or rank the two, I could never.

grafgr

It's the exact opposite of a dry cacao scent, it's savory, buttery and very very food like. To me, it's on the wrong side of gourmands.

clintjr82

Very gourmand scent. Bakery department. Think Natural Chocolate wafers. Not for me. Hard to wear as it’s more a candle type scent. Teenager scent. I gave the full bottle to my nephew. He’s 12 and as expected he gets all the attention from that age group .

dvadesetivek

Very chocolatey scent but it's not too sweet. Chocolate scents can quickly become headache-inducing but this one dries down very beautifully to a fresh orange and vanilla smell.

junimo

Smells like a Terry’s Chocolate Orange. Genuinely. Dry down is a warm vanilla. Simple as that!

Juma

I get chocolate, unfortunately, only for 15 minutes after spraying, and then for about 6 hours cozy warm powdery vanilla.
I'm wearing CG more than a week in a row in fall 2023 and it say's it all, I'm in vanilla lately. Regarding coffee note, I can't smell it... Strong like.

Lmhester

Very life-like chocolate scent. The orange note doesn't last long which is good cause I don't like orange and chocolate together. When spraying it does make me cough and that's a first for me, so, hmmm.

What really bothers me is that the chocolate scent dissipates very quickly. What's left on my skin is vaguely smokey coffee scent that sits very close to the skin.

It could've been so good but unfortunately it just doesn't deliver.

whodoesyourtaxes

I adore this!! I find it to be a dry, nutty chocolate scent with just the slightest hint of dried fruits. Honestly I keep smelling my wrist over and over again; I could live in this scent. It's gourmand, undoubtedly a chocolate scent, and yet somehow not too foody-- I think maybe thanks to the slight powdery note. I didn't want to love this one so much, since it's above the price point I usually go for, but... I have a feeling I'll be ordering a full size as soon as my sample is gone-- maybe even before then, like... right now lol

emilydavi

I love chocolate in fragrances, and gourmand notes generally, but something in this bothers me - I think it's the dried fruits giving an almost aromatic smell. Maybe I'll get used to it, though. Definitely test before buying!

Emoody

Smells like cheap cooking chocolate that you can’t eat. but gets better when it drys down. It doesn’t float my boat unfortunately.

faustute

Sweet fragrance, can smell chocolate, nuts and vanilla. You should like this fragrance if you love chocolate

zori

That’s my first review. I’m so sad for this one. I really wanted to like this. I wish I enjoyed it like some other people. I really enjoy the scent itself but I have 2 massive issues.

1. It makes me cough like crazy. I cannot spray it without holding my breath. Once it dries down, I don’t have a problem with it

2. This is my most serious issue. I love spraying perfume on my neck. I find that it projects better this way. However, the moment this perfume touches my neck it’s starts hurting and itching and it stays like that for a pretty long time. It’s so uncomfortable. Close to a burning sensation. I’ve never had such an issue with a different perfume before. Never. I do admit I have sensitive skin but this has never been an issue when spraying perfume until I tried this one. This makes me not want to wear it and I can’t get much use out of it. I had really high hopes since I adored the actual scent.

mila.amare

This is the first ever fragrance I’ve hated. I do not get the boozy orange and dried fruit scents others do. This has a very specific scent for me, when milk chocolate turns a little white and powdery, it smells like that. Old, cheap chocolate. A little powdery, a hint of baby sick.

I usually love gourmands, but unfortunately I cannot stand this.

J'aimeunefragrance

I wish the orange was more prominent, otherwise it’s a pretty pretty chocolate cake I reach out for when I want some comfort / crave desserts.
Average performance, not a beast mode by any means.
Montale perfume bottles suck.

astridkh3

Sexy and cozy chocolate cake with orange zest. Boyfriend loves when I wear this one. Layers well with vanilla products too. Wish it was stronger and had more lasting power.. since it dries down quickly and the scent if quite simple, it kind of feels like an overpriced body spray.

Hifza

When I feel dark and depressed, need some fun and enjoyment, but want to keep myself low-key and still need something chocolate kind to vibe and need to have a scent present in me then I go for this one. It's dry but kind of tasty due to vanilla and chocolate in it which makes it tempting like hot chocolate.

Totalcrazys

Orange dipped in dark chocolate 🤤

Tálas

This smells like dry chocolate powder with a bit of orange id rate it a 9/10

autumnblue914

I was so afraid hearing that some people had bad reactions on their skin so I'm happy I have great results.

OH. MY. GOD. Chocolate dreammmmm. In the first few minutes since spraying I already smelled so many different chocolate goods. At first it was chocolate chip cookies, then Nesquick cocoa powder, then it was pure chocolate, then the orange in the background comes as well and the final result is a very dense chocolate cake, I get the image of a chocolate lava cake with orange peel in the batter. Gooey, dense, sweet, intoxicating. But also I can see how it could be too sweet for some people, the smell is getting stuck in my throat. It is so creamy and smooth. Over time the chocolate does subside and returns to being more powdery again and vanilla starts coming out more, as well as maybe a hint of those dried fruits. Cocoa vanilla powder dried fruits. Oh my god. I'm so happy. I will have this forever. I can't not have it.

I will also note that I smell absolutely 0 coffee, I don't find it necessary as the scent is perfect as it is, but don't get this expecting the coffee. Maybe it adds some complexity in the background that I can't detect.

The only thing Montale could do better on are the bottles - I find the Mancera bottles quite nicer. The pouch it comes with is nice but the bottle itself I'm not a fan of. But for the scent I will forgive it.

abcook03

As one of the most popular chocolate gourmand fragrances on this site, I had higher expectations for Chocolate Greedy. It is a pleasant scent, but all the same it smells kind of cheap for the price point Montale asks for it.

Upon first spray, the first comparison I thought of for this was the orange and chocolate flavored, pre-packaged graham crackers I have vague memories of eating as a kid. It’s an even balance of processed milk chocolate (kind of like Swiss Miss, if you will) and orange zest.

The scent is more reminiscent of something I’d buy at Bath & Body Works than at a perfume counter. It doesn’t have much— if any — complexity; it smells the same from first spray to the time it fades from your skin.

I want to start out this portion by saying have a weak nose, so my opinion of this perfume’s sillage and longevity may not be as high as most people’s. Within about 20 minutes after spraying, the intensity drops from being noticeable at arm’s length to a skin scent. By the time an hour has passed, I have to directly sniff my wrist to be able to get the slightest remnant of this fragrance.

Overall, this isn’t a perfume that I would say to stay away from, but it’s definitely not something I’d buy full-price. If you want to try it, I’d either buy a scent decant first or a lightly-used bottle at a reduced price.

Here is an honest review...

Cons:
- The bottle is smaller than what I expected.
- The dried fruits and bitter orange are very prominent in the perfume - Do not get this perfume if you solely want a 'chocolate perfume' (I recommend 'Devil Cake' by Nocturne Alchemy if pure chocolate is what you are after).
- Coffee note was only noticeable in first 10 minutes, then completely disscipates (Layer this perfume with 'Intense Cafè' by Montale if the coffee note was important to you).

Pros:
- Incredible Sillage (without disturbing people). This could be due to the superb formulation, the perfume is not cloying; it is 'smooth' and strong.
- Very good Longevity. It is very similar to arabic perfumes in terms of keeping the prominent notes for a long time (however, the dried fruit/orange/coffee does disscipate over 3+ hours; leaving only chocolate/vanilla).
- Worth every cent, it is an expensive/rich smelling fragrance with a breathtaking sillage/projection (Montale did formulate this very well).

Advice:
- Only use 1-2 sprays maximum every 4 hours (You might think the smell has dissipated over time and therefore, you need more; however this is due to YOU getting use to the smell on your body/clothes. Other people will be overwhelmed if you use more as the perfume sillage is beast).
- If you want to make the perfume smell more 'chocolate' like, I would recommend layering with cocoa heavy perfumes ('Chocolate+' oil from Dame Perfume is excellent, or 'Lait El Chocolat' by Chabaud).
- This perfume is very sweet, beware of that when mixing with other perfumes that have sweet notes like vanilla, caramel, fruits etc... (it can make it nauseating).

An excellent perfume, I would have said that it is a great blind buy due to the amazing formulation, however, I know that people mainly buy this perfume due to wanting a pure chocolate gourmand fragrance and the hutter orange/dried fruits are prominent in this perfume - it might turn you off.
*I did want a pure chocolate fragrance myself and did not mind the fruit notes as most people that smelt the perfume on myself just said I smelt 'sweet' or if they had a good nose, 'Like chocolate/brownies' and did not pick up on the fruit notes until I advised them it was in the perfume.

ChiliVanilla

I just layered this with a shot of Khamra and got transported to heaven 😵💖

Angelic3432

Wow! I love this. I dont get the bitter orange or dried fruit notes but I dont mind. This is a gourmand girls dream scent! I will definitely get a big bottle of this! So yummy!

rosa silvestre

This smells spot on like cocoa puffs throughout the entirety, also like boxed brownie mix before mixing in the other ingredients. Longevity on skin is phenomenal, 10 hours+. Projection is good for the first 2-3 hours or so, then I simmers down a bit. After spraying you can smell a little orange, but that fades for me after a few hours. This elicits childhood memories of cocoa puffs and orange juice for breakfast. Also, I get no synthetic-ness to this whatsoever (compared to another Montale I tried), just pure gourmand chocolate cereal. But you have to want to smell like cocoa puffs. Not sexy, but a fun fragrance to wear nonetheless. If you can pull off a cocoa puff costume for halloween (or brownie box), this would be fun to wear with it.

birji

I don't know what's wrong with my bottle but mine last only 1 hour (I'm not exaggerating), this is the first time that's happened to me, and I've bought hundreds of perfumes even cheap ones and clones

Gillzathrillza

Smells like chocolate cereal, with an added edge of orange rind.

Last night I wore this to bed but choked myself out with it and felt quite sick - so beware of over-spraying.

It’s very comforting and would be a good staying-in scent for cosy nights. Not alluring or seductive by any means, but a pretty impressive perfume in terms of what it does and how it performs.

nzjinjp

I want to eat myself when I have this on lol.

klausa_

Chocolate Greedy took me down memory lane.

1. Back in high school years, AXE Dark Temptation was pretty popular. TV stations aired the commercial, and suddenly, the whole school smelled like a bakery or a chocolate store. The scent also invaded the locker room, and at one point, it was so strong that I decided to wait until the scent dissipated before changing my clothes. Chocolate Greedy reminds me of that moment.

2. When I was a kid, my mom used to take me to a huge store downtown selling ingredients for cakes and pastries. The air smelled offensively sweet, with hints of orange and coffee. CG also reminds me of that memory.

As a chocolate lover myself, I have to admit that the chocolatey aspect of CG is very dominant and definitely indelible. Its citrusy facet serves as a fresh twist. However, the sweetness is too intense for my liking (I believe vanilla is the culprit), and even though I don't mind smelling like a chocolate cake (because my friends who know my love for chocolate said the fragrance suits me), I have to be honest: CG can kill my nose. A spritz or two might be enough for me.

Rama Rama

Ferrero Rocher exactly smells like ferrero rocher
Also I agree with the previous review Palmers lotion
There's nothing else to explain. Just go to the grocery store and buy ferrero Rocher and take a sniff.
Although I LOVE gourmand sweet sweeeeeet perfumes I didn't like it, because I don't find it sexy nor elegant AT ALL. I don't find it suitable for a date night. Just pure chocolate linear no depth not interesting and not elegant. Maybe it's nice for a stay home day in a stormy snowy day cuddling. It's a cuddling wearing pajamas perfume.
Definitely unisex I don't find feminine by any means

lmnsvgz

AL Rehab Choco Musk in perfume form...also similar to Palmers Lotion. It smells delicious but I don't want to smell like chocolate vanilla

Kjkoni

Fun is the best way to describe this! Delicious cocoa pebbles or light and crunchy milk chocolate cookies in a liquid form that I can spray all over myself- yes please and thank you!

I really like this layered with Symphonium ✨

ant615

Layer this with tobacco vanille, your welcome

Courts0401

Smells real cute. Lol like fresh baked double chocolate chip cookies with a hint of orange. Longevity is absolute crap though.

EvangLiber

I Love this fragrance! I'm using it this week for work (I work in a Cool weathered Office environment where I have to interact a LOT with people) .... EVERYBODY comments on my perfume, NOT KNOWING AT FIRST that it is My Perfume. They get in my office and just as they enter they get the scent and their face turns pleasently into a happy face like they are being stimulated by childhood happy memories.... INSTANTLY they ask about the smell and they CANT believe is a perfume.... I extend my arm exposing my wrist to their Nose and VOILÀ! EVERYBODY is SURPRISED that indeed its my Perfume. This happens to BOTH Male and Female persons.

To me personally it smells like when you open a new box of COCOA PEBBLES and the aroma sealed inside the bag gets into your nostrils .... is a really STRONG Sillage BUT a SOFT Scent... as contradictory that it may sound. Is very robust scent aura all around your personal space but an inoffensive smell. My peers have described it like a brownie cake thats been recently baked. One of them told me that reminds her of Hot Cocoa with marshmallows.... The MANAGER of the Site asked me for the name of the perfume 'cause he is gonna buy it for himself because he Liked it and it puts him in a Happy Good Mood.

I DONT consider it a "sexy" scent but to me IT IS a "Happy" scent. Sweet Chocolate Lingers the whole time and a soft coffee with Vanilla lays the bed where it sits. It lasts on me projecting STRONG like 5 hours straight non-stop. After that its a powerful skin scent that still gives away unexpected whiffs to anyone near you for 5 more hours. It lasts a decent 10 to 12 hours straight (I apply on my jacket of course).

This IS a jewel in my collection.

TheAverageChef

Bought a sample, smells like soaked chocolate pebbles with the faintest citrus tang. Delicious and sweet

mrjavascript

Incredible scent, definitely get the chocolate and orange hit. Absolutely love it. Probably shouldn't wear this to the gym again.

alek17

Absolute beast, been my everyday perfume for the last half a year. I love the smell but I no longer use it bc i got tired of smelling like straight up chocolate cake everyday. It's a performance monster, lasts 12+ hours, on clothes it can last weeks. It's pretty one-dimensional, chocolate and vanilla. If all you want is to smell like chocolate all day then its perfect for you.

Dvntex_

I would like to review this perfume, as I appreciate this from the technical and perfumery's artistry side. Gourmand perfumery is not the family, that I gravitate to, personally, however, this is simply very nice. Before the review, I want to say that these pros and cons are literally killing me sometimes. "Smelling like food items is not everyone's preference"..., I don't know who has created these 'pros and cons' descriptions, but some of these are just without any sense. I got quite irritated, when I have read this. This is a gourmand perfume, try to understand the purpose of this perfumery style first, before making some 'cons' and 'pros', because this was quite stupid.

Chocolate Greedy

A formula, that is built traditionally to Montale brief, a construction on very strong Amber raw materials and some very expansive sort of Musks. In my subjective opinion, as a gourmand perfume, this is very well constructed, linear, very strong and loud formulation. They really know how to create a very strong sillage and projection in their formulas. Some people love this thing, some don't, it's up to You. This is a massive wall of vanilla fragrance, very sweet, fluffy, delicious, decadent. I imagine this been built upon Iso E Super, Ambroxan, very high amounts of Vanillin, Iso-Vanillin, Amber Extreme, Ambermax, Chocovan, Isobutavan, Amber Core, a well constructed Musk accord together with some linear musks like Helvetolide or Romandolide. I have really no idea, how they received such a monstrous projection.
I guess, that perfumer has worked a lot with Cocoa Hexenal, because of its distinctive chocolate olfactive properties. Also raw materials like Isobutyl Phenylacetate, Guaiacol (smoky and woody aspects) and Beta-Ionon could be also used here, because they work with Vanillin and create already a basic chocolate smell. If naturals are here, they are probably in trace amounts. This is primarily artificial, but this is absolutely fine. I bet, it is quite impossible to create chocolate using only naturals, because chocolate is primarily artificial smell in perfumery. Of course, you can use Cocoa Absolute, but I doubt this was used here, this is not this sort of perfumery price range. (Very expensive naturals) It can be here in some minimal amounts to support the formula though.. The opening is really nice and mouthwatering, to be honest. It pretty reminds me Milka or Kinder Bueno very much. This is actually a glorious gourmand formulation, I really appreciate this for what it is. The perfumer did a really nice job by constructing a quite realistic and buttery chocolate accord here. I can recommend this for gourmand perfumery lovers. I guarantee, you will love this perfume. This smells delicious, creamy, sweet, decadent and quite opulent. (Just be careful with the application). I have recently checked the price on Notino, on the discounts the price is phenomenal, for this sort of perfumery shelf. The full retail is also quite well priced, in my opinion. This is a 'beginner friendly' affordable niche perfumery you can experience, suitable for every age group, in my opinion of course. If you love chocolate, its velvety texture in the taste, how it smells and looks like, dessert, dark or milk chocolate - this could be your life fragrance, really. Wear it well. And last thing, I am quite stressed about my emotions, if I will meet a girl and she will wear it. I bet, it can smell particularly delightful on a female more delicate skin. I will bite her gently in the cafe. (joke) xD

Djwill69

One of my most favorite fragrances ever. It is so nice layered with the Great Indult Tihota ❤️

kbro4897

A very rich decadent Easter chocolate that fills the room and lasts for hours. It is a chocolate bomb and a great gourmand stand alone fragrance, but it's true beauty comes when you layer it with other fragrances. Try it with spicy, fruity, citrus, and other gourmands.

karobi

This is my ultimate cozy perfume. Wow, this cocoa brownie batter scent is intoxicating. I get hints of rose and bitter orange, but just hints. I mostly get Cocoa, fudge, and coffee. So delicious and I can't wait to wear this all fall and winter!

Sixx

The first time I wore it, I detected mainly cocoa, some vanilla and a slight hint of orange. For the initial burst, I smelled a Terry’s Chocolate Orange resemblance, but not for long. As the day went on it resembled a chocolate cake mix, then something distantly familiar: I can’t remember if it was The Body Shop or Lush, but it smelled of a choc orange lip balm I might’ve had a decade ago from one of those shops.

Performance was good, decent projection for at least 4 hours, and I continued to smell traces of it the next day. I was worried that the quality of the fragrance may be synthetic, but am happy with how it turned out.

The second time I tried it, on a hot day, I got no citrus, just cocoa powder. It appears the climate has an effect on how the scent presents each day. Either way, it’s not rich, heavy death-by-chocolate, but rather a powdery chocolate flavoured drink/snack of some sort, with or without orangey hints.

I wouldn’t wear it out and about or for work, but I find it comforting and like wearing it for myself at home.

Burn22

Someone on Pinterest said it smells of Kinder chocolate and I was intrigued. It doesn't. It smells of chocolate and ginger cookies. Quite nice, but not unique and not addictive for me

Kitcaliguluhhh

This is my most complimented fragrance. Compliments have been from girls like “you smell so good, what is that-?” I wear it all the time. Fantastic “dry” chocolate smell, like the Milano cookie kind of dry chocolate. It’s entirely gourmand, but it makes me so happy to smell like dessert.

pinkalpaca

On me this smells more like biscuits than chocolate. It’s ok but I was expecting more of a cocoa/chocolate scent.
As it settles down the vanilla comes out and it starts smelling just like one of the vanilla perfumes from this brand (sweet vanilla or vanille absolu)

orangejuuce

I ordered a bunch of samples online from Montale and this was the one that stuck out to me the most. I wasn’t expecting the fruity notes and the chocolate notes to blend so well together, but I stand corrected.

This is one of the first true gourmand scent I’ve ever owned. It smells like fudgy brownies with orange zest on top. It’s very long lasting on clothes and I’ll be smelling it the next day on my shirt collar. For me and my skin, the sillage isn’t anything crazy, but when people get close enough to smell it I get so many compliments. 10/10 would buy again.

Forewarning, If you are looking to buy online, my package did come a week after they said it was delivered. They didn’t respond to any of my emails, but I did get my chargeback. So I would recommend buying it in store.

GioiaVerratti

I've encountered numerous fragrances categorized as "gourmands" before. However, my experience with Chocolate Greedy by Montale has led me to redefine this classification. I've established a personal criterion: if my favorite cake, delicate pastry, or even an indulgent Starbucks concoction were to exude the same aroma as this perfume, would I find it irresistible? Without a doubt, Chocolate Greedy embodies the essence of a delectable cake or pastry, perhaps even a spiced hot chocolate. It's the epitome of a genuine gourmand fragrance.

Yet, it's important to acknowledge that this fragrance isn't universally appealing. Not everyone desires to emit an aroma reminiscent of food, and intriguingly, some individuals have expressed that it interferes with their enjoyment of actual culinary delights. I can conceive that after enveloping oneself in this scent for a span of eight hours, declining a piece of sumptuous chocolate cake might indeed become a reflexive response. Nevertheless, I personally relish this fragrance and consider it a masterpiece, adorned with remarkable longevity and projection.

JonnyFrags

Sampled this at Saks not thinking I’d think anything of it, but wow.

On me this smells just like freshly baked goods. Brownies or maybe chocolate chip cookies. I’m super impressed.

I honestly could never see myself wearing this but I can appreciate this for what it is. Amazing!

ChooChooSmellington

Smells like corn on a cob on my skin?

perfumeloverxox

My favourite, by far, of all the Montales I've tried. Love love love it. It's a delicious scent. I'm quite picky with gourmands and can be put off by anything sickly sweet or overly synthetic but think this is perfect.

It's an airy, fluffy, realistic chocolate with a tiny hint of orange (I hate citrus scents so don't be put off, it works really well in here).

I bought a sample and keep on smelling the bottle throughout the day - I'm addicted! Planning on buying a full bottle once the summer is over - think it would be perfect for fall/winter.

Cartimandua84

Hot chocolate powder with maybe a touch of orange peel to begin with. While it’s certainly not for everyone, I love love love this, and it’s very useful for layering. It gives sharper, cleaner perfumes a round warmness.

pinkavocado

This is pleasant surprise. I did not expect something like this. It is so comfy and warm. But only 1-2 sprays.

chloematilda

LAST BOTTLE OF MONTALE I WILL EVER PURCHASE. IF YOU MAKE IT TOO HARD TO GET THE FRAGRANCE OUT OF THE BOTTLE AND ON TO THE SKIN, IT IS SIMPLY WORTHLESS. THIS, IS SIMPLY WORTHLESS.

Yes I hate using caps too, but this bottle broke me. I don't even...words cannot describe. This could have been the elixir of Unicorn Tears and I would still have hurled the whole damn thing into the rubbish. Outside. Down the street. In someone else's bin.

I did the whole "if you're not happy" thing with Montale. Their explanation was that some of their scents contain natural botanicals and these can sometimes "solidify" and block the spray nozzle. I tried all of their "quick fixes", but none of them worked. That actually made me want to make that shitty little metal missile into an irritating actual missile I could lob at someone's head. Not to hurt or frighten anyone, just enough to let them know what it was like to feel the level of irritation I have been feeling.

I did eventually find a way to puncture the bottle and decant the fragrance into smaller bottles. What came out was a great deal of .... well ... crud. Long skinny bits and smaller hard gritty bits. I've put these decants away in the back of the cupboard and may someday strain the contents and rebottle it to use. Right now, just the smell of it makes me angry.

Montale - never EVER again.

bffeash_13

Love this one. I get just a slight hint of the orange but it doesnt overpower the chocolate at all. Very realistic chocolate smell. Reminds me of Choco musk by Al Rehab. Would be great to layer with the perfume oil.

Aizen1987

Opening was more waffle -Chocolate smell. it then became a clean chocolate drink fragrance.
Don't care what all reviews say, this is perfect!.

alyssarware

This is waaaaaay better than I expected. Like, it's a favorite. I don't get orange at all, I get chocolate chip cookies, hot cocoa, cocoa puffs, and a heavy dose of vanilla

dubnobass

On an initial spray this is a dead ringer for Comptoir Sud Pacifique 'Amour de Cacao' - I sprayed both, and could not tell them apart. However, while the CSP maintains the same note for several hours, fading if anything to a warm, orangey-vanilla with pretty good longevity, the Montale turned amber on me (unfortunately, not a smell I like).

PalmiPalmi

I almost got killed by getting it but it was definitely worth it.
I still haven't tested the projection, but the longevity is beastly, I sprayed on a tester strip at 5PM and after 6 hours and a half (consider that 1 and a half of these were motorcycle driving without gloves) and is still noticeable.

Smelinsmellysmell

White chocolate and some wafer

N|ne

Just got this and in love! Am a fan of Montale’s gourmands. This has that signature Montale smell and a beautiful warm sweetness. I was worried that choco might be a little too much but I’m happy to say that this isn’t obviously chocolatey to my nose. Smells more like a blondie to me than a brownie. Reminds me of an extra rich vanilla. Going to buy a full bottle for sure

AD80

On paper: Smells like one of those lil Nestle Crunch bars from Halloween melted on your shirt.

On body: Nestle Toll House cookies baking-
Don’t get bit out here
9/10
DO NOT OVERSPRAY

ponyosia

Obsessed with this on me, I layered it with Gold from Commodity and the mix is heavenly on me, dreamy date scent

GenZPerfumery

Smells like cheap halloween chocolate made with palm oil. Scrubber

Barisbaltax

I can't believe I just discovered this perfume, I've been seeing the name and the bottle all this time but I've been avoiding trying it. It really smells like chocolate and reminds me of brownie batter. I can also detect a vanilla note which brightens a bit more during drying. Not too deep and layered, just a delicious gourmet chocolate perfume. If you like edible gourmand perfumes, this will be a win for you. You will either love this perfume or you won't. There seems to be very little in between.
Dieters stay away, I'm tired of swallowing all the time and having a big appetite 🧘♂️🧘♂️

sweetprincessbaby

I wanted to love this SO BADLY. for the record I LOVE gourmand perfumes — I, myself made a perfume that only had cookie-like notes (cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon etc). when ppl said it smells so good like chocolate cake, willy wonka milk chocolate lake, but all I smelt was dried orange slices with faint chocolate drizzle. the citrus note overpowers the chocolate greedy im supposed to get. and I hate when I have to wait for perfume to actually develop into something I like. im gonna sell this one fs

creepy pasta

It’s too synthetically done.

armoni

Yesterday I sniffed all the Montales at the store hoping to find something lighter for summer. But my gourmand lover's heart said that Chocolate greedy was the one. Can't stop smelling it.

lo4

gourmand lovers' dream. at first the orange note is quite noticeable but it softens over time and becomes more of a powdery chocolate scent. reminds me of the chalky chocolate one gets on easter, but smells a lot nicer than those little chocolate eggs taste. :)

edwards

I absolutely adore this. I have al rehab Choco musk and I love it too but it doesn't last long enough on me although others can smell it on me! Warm sweet slightly spicy this fragrance has depth. I love most Montale fragrances and this is another I aim to buy a bottle off along with sweet vanilla.

agnyt1988

I never write reviews, ever, but felt compelled to say how much I hated this. Just beyond overwhelming orange chocolate.
I literally “sprinkled” it on my wrist and the scent just went everywhere, to my eyes, my ears, my throat. Horrible scent.

pale-cinder

10/10 gourmand. Name tells you all. On my skin all ingredients are true and create a beautiful chocolate biscuit scent with a hint of vanilla, bitter orange and dry fruity notes, I would say, apricot. Love it!

kingderella

Delicious chocolate fragrance. The name says it all, really.

mysterywhitegirl

Smells like Cocoa Puffs, a nice chocolate fragrance. So good!

ibralemmi

The waaaaayyyyyy I’d RUN after a man if he wore this?
I’d sprint.
Ye I love it on me and muah but men? Trust me ;)

haus0fXI

I have watched videos reviewing this and also read written reviews. It’s either you smell like fresh baked cookies or it smells like a mixture of orange and chocolate. I finally received mines and I wasn’t expecting me to ascend to heaven feeling warm from the strong chocolate scent then slowly descending back down into a citrusy blast with a faint tingle of spices. People say they get more of the orange note with this and I was abit apprehensive because I wanted more chocolate — and that’s what I got on my body chemistry, though, the orange note is faint, it is mixed beautifully. That lingering spicy note, i love it so much. Easily my favorite smell. I will commit and buy a bigger size bottle of this.

Edit: Using this for almost a year and definitely don’t get any more orange in this. Dries down to a powder chocolate fragrance but now starts very spicy. Once my 1.7oz bottle is gone, I won’t repurchase. Also, this is not a good fragrance for heat if you didn’t know and also in situations where people are sensitive to fragrances.

Perfect in cold weather.

NOSEYBODY

In its opening Chocolate Greedy smells like a Pirouline Wafer filled with Milk Chocolate thats been flavored with Coffee. I get that scent on clothes for maybe 3 hours.

Chocolate Greedy dries down much faster on paper & skin, & what reviewers are finding off putting in the dry down is the combination of Vanilla, Orange, Dried Fruits, & Tonka Bean.

The Vanilla & Tonka Bean together create an accord that smells like Condensed Milk. Once they blend with the Orange & Dried Fruits the overall combination smells like spoiled Vitamins.

However, i'm not bothered by it. Because in the air it doesnt smell that way. It only smells that way when you have your nose buried in it. But it only smells that way for maybe 5 minutes as the base notes are settling before the overall composition begins to smell Oat-like; like a Chocolate Breakfast Cereal. Specifically Cocoa Puffs.

I have both Cocoa Puffs & Cocoa Pebbles cereals & it smells closer to Cocoa Puffs as they smell more Oat-like.

The dry down teeters back & forth between smelling like a Chocolate Breakfast Cereal, & a Pepperidge Farm Orange Chocolate Milano Cookie.

SIDE NOTE: A reviewer below mentioned Easter Chocolate. Cadbury used to make an Orange Chocolate Egg. Theres moments in this fragrance when I get reminders of that.

Its important to note that Chocolate Greedy goes from smelling like Milk Chocolate in its opening, to smelling like Cocoa Powder in its dry down.

Again, the combination of Tonka Bean & Vanilla create this Condensed Milk accord in the dry down, & in combination with the scent of Cocoa Powder it also smells like someone in the early stages of creating some kind of confection..

Overall Chocolate Greedy is a beautiful Gourmand. Its not sickly sweet, but it smells authentic to both a Chocolaty dessert, & Breakfast Cereal.

I dont find it to be as beastly as a performer as other Montale's. But for what it is, it doesnt need to be.

Smelling Chocolate Greedy is like taking a nosedive right into a freshly-opened box of Cocoa Pebbles. It takes me right back to my days as a latchkey kid, eating cereal after school. I get absolutely no trace of coffee. I get nary a hint or nuance of oranges or any other fruit. All I get is a sweet, powdery chocolate over creamy vanilla. This is nostalgia in a bottle and it puts a smile on my face. As with most Montales, you will choke yourself and others nearby, if you go heavy on the trigger. Funny that I haven't eaten cereal in years, but when I smell this, I always get the urge. Fun stuff.

NAlex

Scent is nice, sweet uncomplicated powdery chocolate, think easterbunny chocolate, but very nice still. Doesnt perform great on me and no sillage, also gives me a strange reaction. Like I'm not allergic but it does make my skin act up. Does anyone else have this and with Montale in general or just this one? Help!

CMaingi

Very addictive fragrance with beastly projection. This is the gourmand lovers. Lasted a whole day on my skin. When smell this what comes to mind is a vanilla wafer dipped into an orange flavoured chocolate with some tonka beans. Well suited during cold months.

it stains clothes SO BAD

AdemEms

I love this perfume so much that I use it very rarely, only on some occasions although I would wear it every day. For me it was a successful blindbuy. I am always looking for gourmand perfumes, perfumes that smell like sweets and this one did not disappoint me. The longevity is good and the sillage is just as good I would say. I can only say that my colleagues wondered where the smell of chocolate was coming from.

However, I must mention that it does not resemble choco musk from al rehab. Chocolate greedy is a chocolate biscuit with a little orange zest and choco musk is a chocolate with a lot of milk.

shoujomarina

for chocolate lovers! the best i’ve smelled as far as chocolate goes so far. haven’t done much exploration though yet. it smells like chocolate cereal like cocoa krispies

jaehyuns

this is the most realistic gourmand i’ve ever tried! the opening is a bright burst of citrus and chocolate. as it dries down it’s slowly starting to take shape of a hot cocoa with creamy vanilla. i don’t get any coffee in this but that’s a good thing because i can still wear it in hotter weather without being too cloying!

Charllife

Smells like terrys chocolate orange. Not necessarily something I’d wear everyday, but it does smell delicious, it’s a fun one to sample with friends and family I’d love if the chocolate stuck around a little longer, great “chocolate” frag to have in your collection

Joy1333

This is very sweet and love it! I have. A lot of compliments and is long lasting

elydrk

If you are a gourmand lover you're going to adore this fragrance, to me it smells like fluffy chocolate ladyfinger cookies, it's absolutely delicious, I can't get enough of it, I'm getting the full bottle for sure.

Malleable

This is okay but not for that price tag. I have other chocolate perfumes by indie perfumers that I like more than this one for a fraction of the cost.

sgd11

Smells like straight up hot chocolate. That’s really all there is to it. Performance is very good as well. Easy on the trigger with this one.

nataschav

It smells like a café mocha that’s heavy on the chocolate. Is it good? Yeah, it’s delicious. Should it be a perfume with this price tag? Nah.

Yalamddd

Spicy chocolate with a milky dry down. Very straightforward.

saria_

this is so freaking delicious i'm in love. its probably the most realistic gourmand i've ever smelled. it smells like walking into a confectionery or nutella drizzled on a mix of fruity pebbles and cocoa pebbles, but it works somehow. its not overwhelming at all because the orange, although subtle, evens everything out. im definitely going to buy a larger size of this but not right now cause this is not safe for the summertime! still would 100% recommend for the gourmand and chocolate lovers

Nimu

chocolate orange chip cookies and butter nothing else.Nauseating.

Barisbaltax

I recently tried Chocolate Greedy by Montale, and I have to say, I was disappointed. While the chocolate scent is present, it's just too sweet and overpowering for my taste. The opening is way too strong and gave me a headache.

Even after it mellows down, the scent lingers on for way too long, and I couldn't wait to wash it off. It's definitely not suitable for warmer months and can be cloying even in colder months.

Overall, I would not recommend Chocolate Greedy to anyone who is not a fan of very sweet and intense fragrances. If you're looking for a subtler chocolate scent, this is not the fragrance for you.

MunchiPupzi

as a gourmand lover i had to try this in store, and i’ll give them a lot of credit for smelling like realistic chocolate biscuits at first. for about 20 mins it was a very yummy chocolatey smell, i could pretty much only smell that with a tinge of orange. i hate to say it but after that, i started smelling a bit of urine in the background which put me off from buying it. my cousin said she didn’t necessarily smell ‘urine’ but as it dried down it wasn’t as good as the first couple of minutes. i’ve only smelled a few perfumes/body sprays in my life that have given me this ‘urine’ smell, another one of which is the cheriosa ‘71 body spray which smells quite a lot like urine to me when it dries down. idk maybe it’s the ‘chocolate’ smell doing that i’m not too sure.

this perfume does project a lot and lasts a LOT, it was lingering on my hand even after i washed it which i hated bc i wanted it to come off 😭

Trizzyluxe

Finally- a chocolate scent that smells like CHOCOLATE and not vanilla with hints of chocolate. It is beautiful smells and will by again. However, I got it for $75 on jomasjop during their spring sale. I would not buy this at $150 price point.

AEyup

I understand and maybe even appreciate gourmand perfumes, where although it smells like food but it still has the essence and purpose of a perfume - to be worn by people for an enjoyable nice smell.

But perfumes like this one that smells EXACTLY like food is beyond me .. Yes I love to indulge myself sometimes with a full-bodied dense chocolate cake, but i definitely don't want to smell like one!

Maybe this perfume is intended as olfaction artistic experience (which is not Montale's M.O.), still it is a harsh, synthetic, annoyingly strong chocolaty flop of a perfume for me.

gandrasta

Warm dark chocolate tiramisu and a glass of Cointreau. And that's not a poem. Gourmand through and through with minimum regression. Average performance on my skin

Ambrenuit

I purchased this perfume specificaly for Christmas and I can't stop sniffing it, it smells like coffee, chocolate, cookies, in short I smell like a walking mobile candy store. Chocolate Greedy is not a typical perfume, it is a special, literally gourmet fragrance. Chocolate is the first to develop very clearly, followed immediately by oranges, coffee and vanilla. It cannot be compared to absolutely anything else. No flowers, citrus or amber, just a sweet, chocolatey, gourmand experience.

Mira J

The chocolate fragrance for chocolate fragrance haters.

This is that one chocolate chip cookie in a batch that is a little more enjoyable because it isn't overloaded with chocolate chips.
Nothing bitter, too deep, or complex. Just a comforting cloud of sweetened cocoa powder and vanilla. Doesn't have that synthetic dna found in many montale & manceras.

After 2 years, I still love this one.

Perfume_barbie

I adore this fragrance. But just a side note has anyone else had a problem with montale bottles leaking? Its literally leaking from the bottom and the silver colour is getting scratched off. Its only been 1 year since i bought it and I always store my fragrances really well. Anyone else had similar issues with montale bottles please let me know. I’m really upset about this😢

NikolavvalokiN

At first, I was a bit hesitant when I first tried this fragrance due to the orange note within. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it added a beautiful, refreshing twist to the overall fragrance. It was a perfect balance to the rich, decadent chocolate scent that dominates this fragrance.

Speaking of the chocolate note, it is absolutely divine. The scent is warm, inviting, and comforting, making it a perfect choice for cooler weather. And the fact that it stayed on my clothes for multiple days after I sprayed it only added to the luxurious feeling of wearing this fragrance.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Montale fragrance, "Chocolate Greedy". It is a beautiful, unique scent that is perfect for anyone who loves warm, comforting fragrances with a touch of sophistication. The longevity and sillage of this fragrance are truly remarkable and everyone else who smelt it on me loved it too.

ThornyComplexRose

I got this as a tester....originally poured some on a paper strip. At 1st I was in Nestle Quick chocolate milk heaven...like smelling straight powdered milk chocolate. Then a few hours later I came back to the paper strip and it smelled faint and like rubber. So I put it on my wrists to see if the smell was different. On my skin it quickly went from a faint chocolate smell to that vague dried candy, bitter orange smell to that rubber smell that I am smelling on the paper. Like I get moments of chocolate, but mixed with that rubber smell which I am going to assume is the dried candy...like stale old candy ruining the greatness of the chocolate smell.

After the 1st initial smell I was so sure I would be purchasing it, but hours later I am def not impressed.

The longevity is there, but not in a good way, since it just smells not so good...and then the projection is minimal as well. I have to put my nose up to my wrist and the paper to really smell it. Meanwhile I just got my Navitus Chocolate Queen in today, and hours later the paper I sprayed it on is still going strong.

This is a def pass for me.

Mintylicious

I despise how this smells when I first spray it on my skin---strong, bitter, gives me a headache. But I do enjoy the dry down, which offers a rich chocolate scent.

Momopeach

Imagine pouring a bowl of cocoa pebbles cereal and then stirring in a spoonful of fruity pebbles. It smells soooo sweet and edible. It's such a fun scent and unmistakably cocoa

Anrau1234

Chocolate, vanilla, a bit of orange zest and a lot of nutmeg. smells delicious but not too sweet or cloying. long-lasting af and definitely unisex

Lyonside

Thank God, I bought just a sample. I agree with alex6863’s review. Nothing to add except my downvote.

the_badger

Smells yummy, but I wouldn't wear it haha.

gourmand_girlie

Wow, this is straight up chocolate brownie batter! Fudgey, pour-able, but with chunks of the dry chocolate-y powder throughout. I didn't get any orange/citrus, or dried fruits.

Really fun with how realistic this is, but not something I'd personally want to wear - I love gourmands, but this one would make me too hungry haha.

I saw someone suggest that this took them back to Easter, and I can see how this would be fun for an occasion like that (or maybe as a nod to Valentines Day chocolates).

LostCherry42

To me it smells like a packet of Swiss Miss hot chocolate power. That's best way I could think of to describe it.

Kizzyb93

I wore this last Sunday for the first time it’s sort of reminds me of Easter holidays it’s decadent and it’s creamy. It’s a little bit dusty at the same time and obviously it’s chocolatey! This reminds me of going to my Nan’s when I was a kid on Easter Sunday, going on the chocolate hunt and screams happiness to me. Also is very sophisticated, at the same time. This one is hard to explain because it brings back memories. It gives me different vibes. I find it lasts FOREVER But it’s not too overpowering after an hour or two but it’s still quite strong … wow, I love this.
When my friend told me to try, this was a bit iffy. I wasn’t too sure what I was going to get. I didn’t think this was going to be much of anything to my liking. ( I generally thought I was going to get something like lynx chocolate)However, this one blew me away and I’m very happy to have this in my collection

Yisslvr

Smells like pure chocolate orange powder, not for me.

CelinaPerfume

It smells like someone just made chocolate coffee. So good, different, attention grabber

jjluvsm9

Smells like powdered cocoa and orange. Not too sweet, quite ‘dusty’ and metallic. Sort of like smelling an empty tin foil chocolate orange wrapper. Smells a bit like a lush fragrance I can’t recall the name of. Not an awful blind buy but I am not a huge fan, mostly thanks to the ‘dusty’ component.

My rating: 6.5/10
Bf rating: 3.5/10

LMBelvi

By far my favorite Montale. Simultaneously very sweet, very sophisticated, and totally unisex in my opinion. That is hard to pull off. I love the darkness of it. It kinda makes me think of the transformation when you feel suddenly like a grown up because you realize that dark chocolate can be a delight even though it always used to be totally gross.

Benrynee

sweet and cozy

rolanddano

I've got a sample recently and I wasn't expecting that I'm going to like it so much. I'm not gonna lie, it is so strong that after spraying onto myself it's making me cough, but it is really yummy, like box of milk truffle. I'm surprised to see that this fragrance voted to be more feminine as for my nose this is definitely a more masculine fragrance.

Celestya

For chocolat lovers. Unisex, perfect for Valentine day. You need to like gourmand perfumes. I can smell milk chocolat and dried fruits (no coffee). Very good longevity and sillage. More for cold day, not office compatible.

Shan101beauty

A very realistic strong chocolatey scent. Its a bit bitter with some zest at the beginning but then dries down to a sweet cocoa vanilla scent.

Lola18

Unfortunately I don't like this at all. I got nauseous the first time I tried this, even though I am a gourmand lover. There's something in this that threw me off so bad I can't even explain it. Chocolate Greedy is very strong, nauseating and has (in my opinion) a very unpleasant chocolate note in it. :(

mariminney

A perfume with a realistic scent of chocolate cookie or cocoa puffs. This characteristic smell made me back off a little cause I don’t know if I want to smell as actual food, even if it’s pleasant. After a while the vanilla appears as the chocolate fades away. It’s been 7 hours and still smell the perfume in my skin so longevity is nice.

v4nesxa

I didn’t like this fragrance at first all I could smell was the orange with a hint of cacao and the scent would be completely gone after an hour, but then I let it sit for a couple months and now I’m starting to get the hype, it straight up smells like milk chocolate. Although I enjoy it a little more the performance is still disappointing, after 2/3 hours it already becomes a skin scent and after 5 it’s gone. I’m gonna let it sit for a more couple months then see if it gets better.

fleardella

Since I smelled it at the airport, I knew immediately that I need to get this perfume. I waited for a couple of months for it to be back in stock and as soon as it did, I bought it.

As soon as you spray it, right away you smell the chocolate, which I was happy about. To me, it is a perfect kind of chocolate, it's not too sweet and not too bitter. My partner said it smells like chocolate chip cookies and loves this perfume even on himself. It lasts around 4-5 hours for me. It's definitely one of my favorites for the wintertime.

josephineds

I had already ordered a sample when I noticed a Montale store in Ghent... I sprayed it on a test strip and wished I hadn't ordered that... It was too much, too dark, sickening, unrealistic.

I decided to spray it on me anyway now that the tester had arrived and it's a completely different story on skin... The scent trail is amazing. It's chocolate sweet but not too much and not too dark. My colleague went ''did someone put chocolate cake in the oven?''. It went from a ''don't ever buy this'' to a ''one of the best scents I own''.

Mind you I also have ''Trussardi Passegiata in galleria vittorio Emanuele duo'',''Tiziana Tirenze Al Contrario'', ''bdk velvet tonka'' and''xerjoff Italica''.

I prefer trussardi and this. Performance, scent and silage.

Qortni

The bottle says chocolate, the notes look amazing, but on my skin it smells like fake hot buttered popcorn with a terribly bitter note. I don't have much else to say about this, other than I'm giving up on Montale. Every frag of theirs is a disaster on my skin, and always with a hint of bitterness that I can almost taste. Yuck.

Whomever has the chemistry to rock Montale's DNA, may the odds be in your favor.

Metolord

Opens up like hot chocolate dries down vanillic with some sort of zest jammy vibe… projection abs sillage is moderate but lasts long

tanoshi333

Smells like a Ferrero Rocher in the opening, settles down to a basic, boring vanilla. Not my type of fragrance but I get why so many like it.

DearAlexabell

One of my absolute favorite gourmands & perfumes in general! I’m a huge lover of warm, spicy, & gourmand scents. A true gourmand, nicely sweet without being nauseating. I fell in love at first sniff in Saks fifth when I sprayed it on the tester. I never thought I would be a chocolate lover as I have so many vanilla scents & never thought I’d prefer chocolate over it! New favorite scent unlocked. The chocolatly soft, powdery, milky with a hint of vanilla too. I love smelling like a dessert & this does the job! The spillage is the perfect amount for me, people near can smell it without filling the room. I can easily smell myself most of the day and I love it, doesn’t give me a headache like some stronger perfumes. She’s perfect for me. I definitely feel like this is slightly more feminine but I think a handful of men can still rock it with the right aesthetic. For sure in my top 3 starting 2023 off. This scent has been one I’ve been wearing the most often lately!

hannaadareilly

With first spray I didn’t like it, it’s an intense and realistic chocolate orange truffle. Then after about 10 minutes it settled into something much softer and the Tonka comes to surface.
The dry down is really lovely. It’s a warm, 1/2 shot coffee mocha with an orange cream pastry being ordered in the background. I can smell it on myself clearly and it keeps catching my attention and making me inhale my wrists. I think this would be a wonderful scent to layer with but on its own for me, it’s a bit too gourmand. I think it would be perfect alone on a man, especially if he’s wearing a chunky woolly jumper but on a female it is quite heavy so unless you love a deep chocolate rich scent, then I would personally layer it with a slightly higher note too for balance.
Well worth owning!

Dmiddy

A wonderful treat to wear around the house. It’s very literal as a gourmand so I’m not sure I’d ever wear it in the “real world.” But this is a delectable fantasy and a great part of my scent collection.

smaranda_popescu

I love love love this one. I have always looked for a real gourmand perfume, a sickening sweet one (that's just what I like in perfume) and no perfume ever could compare to this one. It is such a rich, dark chocolatey, cocoa powdery, milky goodness!
I got so many compliments on this one, people wanna come close to you and sniff you all the time!
You will smell like a bakery everywhere you go, so watch out, be prepared! :))
10/10

r0tten-com

look, I like this, I really do BUT I cannot wear it. It smells just like food, not like a fragrance, not like a body mist... people would think I just came out of the chocolate River from Willy Wonka's Factory

180727

smells exactly like a cosmic brownie in a good way. for some reason sometimes it pulls savory, though

artvault

I really liked this, it’s not overly chocolately it has lots of sweet vanilla in it for me. A nice, comforting skin scent. And it seemed to stop my sweet tooth cravings- bonus!

McG1993

Chocolate Greedy by Montale is the most decadent and commanding fragrance I've ever smelled. It's straight up melted chocolate, creamy vanilla and coffee. A simple blend but absolutely mouth-watering in every possible way. If I didn't know that Pierre Montale, himself, was the developer, I would've guessed Willy Wonka was behind the development of this fragrance.

secretyeol

for the indian gworls: this smells like hide and seek fab biscuits with the orange cream, like EXACTLY, very hyperrealistic. the dry down for me smells like a vanilla cake. I'm literally obsessed with this scent I feel like it could oust my SDJ 71' (we'll see) as my favorite scent. I'd say that my only gripe is that the drydown doesn't have the chocolate smell anymore, but the vanilla-buttercream-cake smell is mouthwatering so I'll forgive it.

CozyScents

First impression - just received this on the mail and was so excited to try it out. When I first sprayed it I fell in love - it smells like a vanilla-orange biscuit covered in dark chocolate and extra sweet cocoa powder. The orange note made it so interesting and delicious for me, but it quickly disappears. The dry down smells a bit smoky / incense-y on my skin, mixed with cocoa powder. I am not sure how I feel about it.
I tried layering it over Diesel's Loverdose RedKiss which also has a cacao note + hazelnut and sugary goodness. Made it more chocolate-y which I loved :)
I think I will get more use out of it by layering it, or just wearing on it's own when I am home and want to smell like a yummy biscuit.
