The same as Mancera's Roses Vanille. I expected something different. I do get the minty note at the end but it's very faint and that's the only difference between the both perfumes.

toosimilar

I started to believe: the mood determines everything
If it's bad - then this specific one is too "synthetic" and screechy
Days before it was one of my favorite perfumes (without 'most' tho) -
- such a cute fresh sour rose!

But today the magic has disappeared - musky, screechy, headache inducing rose, similar to the one in Intense Cafe
With the difference that Intense Cafe is a sweet rose

THEREFORE I beg you people - give a chance to some perfumes!
Sometimes it's all because of your mood, weather/climate, skin condition and so on
I truly hope to enjoy Roses musk the way I used before! :)

btw today was a very cold day...maybe it better fits spring to summer season?

AdalynEverly

First Impressions:
Definitely smells like gentle fluidty gold, montale intense cafe, but the drydown is more minty or fresh. I’ll keep y’all posted on this one.

QueenieIrenie

This is so screechy, I just can't. Smells a lot like Intense Cafe meets Roses Greedy, and I don't love either of them. Roses Musk is just as screechy to me as Intense Cafe if not more. This projects like a beast and lasts a long time, like many other Montale/Mancera fragrances, I'll give it that. But I just do not enjoy this, not one bit.

Ayshin

Let me say this
EVERY montale frags that i have/had are beast
Their SPL are just beast
This fragrance is just the same
I still think this is nothing special tho
But if you want beautiful, mature rose notes that last days on you, go for this

Dear Montale please make your bottle with better quality, this can-bottle concept is so tacky

AnniePruana

Speaking as an Arabian Tonka fan Roses Musk is okay. I was not expecting a sister to Arabian Tonka, but this is one. It's lighter yet harsher in the opening. Dry down was a milder not sweeter Arabian Tonka. I would go for the Arabian Tonka if you are going to choose one. For Rose, there is nothing rosier, cleaner, brighter than Diptyque Eau Rose.

Eliak

The start was very very harsh. And then it continues to smell like a nice mosquito repellent. On the bright side, did not get bitten by mosquitos that day. And I get bitten a lot.

sharp, clean, soapy rose 🫧🌹🧼
pretty clean girl scent 🎀
for me, as it mixes with my chemistry it becomes sweeter!
i can definitely undertand some of the comments stating it has a screetchy note, but its tolerable.

Synthetic soapy rosy smell. The musk is present but it only makes it choky. Definitely a pass for me.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

I tested this in-store at Myer here in Australia because of a Youtuber called Erin Nicole that I subscribe to saying that this is a great scent, but I wasn't floored by it. It is nice, but not amazing.

It sort of smelt like expensive rose-scented face powder (like Clé de Peau's face powder) to me because of the combination of the rose with the musk. I wouldn't call it a realistic rose, by any means. But then, so few rose scents are.

Only Diptyque's Eau Rose and (especially) Annick Goutal's Rose Absolue have ever truly smelt like roses to me and impressed me, which is probably why I bought them and still own them.

On the plus side, Roses Musk did last about 10 hours on me before fading completely and it does have a fairly big sillage on my skin. It can also be worn during all seasons and for both night and day, so it has fantastic versatility.

My rating? A 7.4/10 in total. It is pleasant smelling, but nothing I'd rush out to get a full bottle of. I'd use it if someone gave it to me, though.

Kg2284

Not a fan. I blind bought it because of the hype so I got curious. Totally regret it! I saw some good reviews about it and I tried to give it a chance but Noooo… its not for me. 😕

LauramaK

A beautiful feminine fragrance that's a fresh, dewy sweet warm rose. It's youthful and somewhat jammy like Issey Miyake Rose & Rose Intense albeit sweeter. At first I thought it was a fairly intimate scent yet my husband noticed it from a few feet and loves it on me. It's ideal for any occasion, particularly for spring and fall.

It's an elegant rose fragrance and the white musk blends well to give it a clean, soapy drydown of sensual, cosy musk. Personally, I don't notice the jasmine; the white musks and sweet dewy rose dominate. While I prefer Issey Miyake Rose & Rose Intense I really love Montale Roses Musk as well - I absolutely adore rose fragrances.

Mags322

I received this today in a 50ml size. But the bottle is small it’s more like a 30ml . It’s a beautiful fragrance though, it reminds me of Delina .

Romantic1

This fragrance was my obsession until……….

Fresh Voluminous Roses,
Bright, Crisp, Dusty, Juicy.
Oud, Musky, Floral Tea

Unisex can work beautifully on men also, if it goes right with their body chemistry .

It’s sad when I remember how this was my new staple signature, there was a time when niche fragrance were a big deal amongst my friends and colleagues, everyone wanted to smell different and be original, my signature scent was, is, and always will be Angel by Thierry Mugler, it’s common but works on me well, luckily my friends would despise the scent on them to not use it, fast forward my discovery of Montale Roses Musk, at the time in USA nobody carried it, a stylist I knew had introduced me to this fragrance line and he gifted me Roses Musk and Intense Cafe, he told me it’s from France, super exclusive nobody will find it locally, it was so amazing for me I felt original, omg the compliments I would get from this the Silliage from 100 feet away no joke, I had people follow me asking what I was wearing my friends and colleagues started to harass me and had to know what it was, so I made a HUGE MISTAKE of telling a friend of mine and oh boy from that day on I felt my identity was stolen away from me, from then on everyone copied this scent from one another.

It’s much more common now and you can find it at a few department stores, although I feel that this has been reformulated since it launched smells more synthetic not sure about the newer batches but it was a BEAST in the silliage department, the longevity felt almost PERMANENT I would still smell this after I washed my clothes. A straightforward rose a sensual rose bright, crisp and bloomed with heavy nectar, effervescent, alluring oud musk and all around in everyone’s business literally. Use with caution if you dislike it keep in mind it will still smell like it after you rinse it off 2 sprays max is all you need and if you wanna grab attention this is it. I wish this fragrance well so I have parted ways with it being my signature scent, but occasionally will wear it when I wanna make a statement or will spritz it heavily if I wanna offend people around me that I dislike

LEM922

I recieved this as a sample. I try not to review too many rose scents, as I’m really picky and most of them just remind me of grandma’s house. I will say though, for a TRADITIONAL old school smelling rose scent, this isn’t too bad. I wouldn’t wear it. But I’m not coughing and gagging and screaming either. I’ll probably give it to my grandmother, she’ll get more use out of it than me. But this isn’t bad. There’s something at the bottom of this that smells a little… dusty… but it’s not overpowering. It smells like honey tea a little, steeped with rose petals. I dont hate it! Not too bad, for what it is. For comparison, I much prefer this to Delina La Roseé.

Rosiewebber

A sweet, powerful honeyed rose with oud-y musk. It’s a bit like someone’s mixed roses vanille with atomic rose. I personally really like it, but I’d imagine it’s too sweet or cloying for some, and there’s nothing fresh about this. You’d have to really like rose scents, and sweet jammy ones at that.

sakecat22

Ambery, jammy rose with an animalic-leaning musk to tie it all down.
Very straightforward - must like rose scents. A LOT.
Roses Musk is a good test scent to see whether you like the Montale/Mancera rose.
If you like Roses Musk, you'll probably like many of the other scents in both houses.

jasmine27

I love this scent. It's very young and lively rose with a jasmine. For people who wants to smell like pink rose in the garden during spring. I would say it's a good blind buy, cause it's really beautiful, even for people who's not into perfumes.

thaochipnd

Oh no, I don't like it at all. The scent on paper is quite fresh, but when it touches my skin, it turns into a warm Rose, as if adding Amber or concentrated Vanilla like Montale Intense Cafe. To me, it's nothing special.

Rating: 7/10

V3ronica

I was waitting for a different rose scent, more fluffy, like rose and cotton...but no. It is fresh rose, like the old rose water concentrâtes, limit sapent, like smelling a rose on the rain and I feel it has no musk for me...is it a kind of perfume for when you cannot decide which on to wear...just put this, you'll be ok. It's a bit deceiving.

kiracoutinho

Definitely signature scent worthy! I think that this is what you would expect a pretty girl wearing pink/white to smell like. I had the intense version as well and until hours after the drydown i don't see the similarity. Personally, I think that this is a lot better.

Mona708

I’ll start out by saying that I absolutely LOVE the rose here: it’s a wonderful blend of tart, powdery, and jammy. If it weren’t for the musk and jasmine, it would be a dupe for Lush’s Rose Jam. I like how the jasmine adds a slight indolic touch during cooler weather. I also love how it lingers for days on clothes, and how just a few sprays last ten hours. I just wish it weren’t so expensive 🥲

Sillykn

The combination of rose and musk in this just smells musty to me.

uncomfortableasian

At first it smells like a really pretty dewy rose. I didnt get much jasmine if at all. The first srapy reminds me of the locctaine rose edt. After 10 minutes however the top notes of rose vanish and all thats left is this sharp musk scent thats more remniscent of patchouilii and oud to me. Just sharp and sour. There's nothing about this perfume that is worth buying. I love rose and that first spray just catfished me :(

Zoia Collison

Extremely long lasting and strong perfume, but I tolerate it good, no headache, actually smells very pleasant. Unfortunately I feel no rose and no jasmine, just musk musk musk. Overall to me smells like something what Paco Rabanne would create, pretty much animalic gourmand. Very good quality fragrance, except somewhat boring to me.

Olivegelly

Too sour on me. :(

Lilah_lilah2023

It's nice, rosey and musky, yet not particularly remarkable and surely not worth its price. Doesn't last long. I also would like mention, I don't like that this company doesn't do sample kits: how are we supposed to test them properly on the skin? All other maisons do them. Meh.

glowcel

Dewy rose. Smells like rose essential oil. Longevity is okay? After about 3 hours the rose fades completely and a baby-powder musk takes its place, which I don't mind, but I probably wouldn't reach for this very often because of it. But if that's your thing, then this is definitely the fragrance for you.

Jald

Very pleasant for a Montale. That’s all I can say. Very natural smelling fantasy rose that dries down to a sensual musk.

leximayxo

Not sure about the unisex or animalistic cons listed because to me, it just smells like sweet rose. Very pretty but basic rose, however the longevity and projection makes it special. Could be a signature scent if youre a big rose lover. I like it.

Philoxenia

I was hoping to find a more "young" version of Dior Oud Ispahan, and this is exactly that, BUT unfortunalety this also has that very synthetic sharp opening that stays with you the entire time while the rose is fading quickly and so in the end all I am left with this desinfectant smell that you smell at the vet's office.

AlyssaBrindley

Woah woah woah, what is that sharp smell in the beginning? I feel like a few notes are missing in here. I’m glad I only got a sample size. This is the first montale fragrance I’ve ever tried. I’m on the hunt for a “signature” scent. The smell people will know me by and I am not sure I want it to be this. It’s a bit more cloying than I typically go for. However the dry down is nice. My husband seems to really like this but I think unfortunately this is a scrubber, or maybe it’ll become a date night frag only.

the_fondue_or_the_ratatouille

It's my favourite perfume ever! It smells like bright pink roses and reminds me the lobbies of the luxury hotels in Marrakech or somehwere in Morocco. It also smells like a rose flavour Turkish delight.

It's so good, so sexy, feminine. It's fresh and warm at the same time. It also has this sparkling and juicy vibe, very uplifting (if you know what I mean)

For me, it doesn't remind me Delina at all (but I also like Delina, the longevity is better of Delina, though Montale is also great).

Also, this perfume is not very expensive, so it makes it even better.

Ground hound

I don`t understand why there are no spices mentioned in the pyramid as there is a sharp entrance of spice including Tonka bean, which later fades out.
Other commentators mention spices too so where are they in the pictures?
Sweet old-fashioned rose, musk and very strong jasmine.
I`m talking a touch of Erba Pura on the entrance here.

This is a surprisingly vivid and quirky perfume, and even though seeing word like "rose" and "musk" might associate with grannies- not at all, this is modern, fiery and pretty.
I am Not a fan of musk or rose in perfumes but I would wear this one.
P.S it does Not smell like Crystal flowers by Montale- C.F is much more powdery and not spicy at all.

katherina.1

This is uber feminine and as others have mentioned, very similar to a stripped down Delina by Parfums De Marly.

Beautiful fragrance, which I’m looking forward to be using, now that it is spring. Very suitable for this time of year, in my opinion.

Edit: I don’t know if it’s the musk that turns or what it is, but I wore this yesterday for the whole day and it smelled like burnt skin😳 - not very pleasant. It seems my skin chemistry don’t work well with this perfume, sadly. Smells beautiful on my clothes, though. So I guess I’ll be spraying my hair and clothes from now on.

LaMiaRosa

I wrote a review on this previously but decided to delete it because my impression has changed. Firstly, I'll get the obvious out of the way and say this bears similarity to Intense Cafe in that it has that Montale rose DNA, and they are especially similar in the opening. But Intense Cafe is a much sweeter, candied rose that smells more artificial. This rose is less sweet, more simple and smells more realistic.

Where Intense Cafe is an icy, candied rose, Roses Musk is an inky, dewdrop-covered rose. Both scents have a different purpose and leave a different impression, the former being girly and loud, while the latter is more calm and comforting.

Initially I felt Roses Musk was inferior to Intense Cafe, which I found so addictive. But this has an addictive quality too and it smells much less "high maintenance", making it more wearable. As a result, I've pretty much stopped wearing Intense Cafe since I got this (although i still really like that one). I find this even more addictive, as it has a comforting, cosy quality to it. Its clean vibes also make it a great scent straight out of the shower, or before bed.

It's quite floral in the opening, but the drydown is where it shines, with that lovely clean musk. The best part of this scent is actually hours later when it's truly dried down. It's a lovely clean skin scent. Other than that there's not much to say as this is a simple fragrance with only 3 notes. I don't really detect the jasmine though, this is literally just "roses musk" to me.

Longevity is decent but this isn't a big projector like Intense Cafe or some of the other Montale scents. Definitely not beast mode or anything like that.

As for seasonality, I think this could work year-round and I think this is a great versatile scent to add to your collection. Some might argue it's redundant to have both Roses Musk and Intense Cafe in your collection but I personally value having both because I feel they have entirely different vibes, purposes and performance.

CMaingi

It’s a great fragrance got a sample of it. I’m glad I didn’t buy it. It’s a well rounded oriental floral rose can be work anytime of day apart from winter and fall. Lasted 6-8 hours on my skin. This is a well love fragrance and it’s always out of stock but I much prefer the Roses Elixir over this one.

Joy1333

For me smell like intense cafe

notnamai

so i’ve finally tried the famous montale perfumes!
started off with roses musk of course!
I haven’t tried much montale perfumes but so far I am extremely impressed with both the sillage and longevity.
I sprayed a tiny little dot of it at the store and I still smelled it DAYS after.
if you’re looking for a beast performance montale is for you.
the scent? unisex, slightly leaning more feminine.
i can’t decide if the rose feels synthetic or realistic bc sometimes it’s that and sometimes that.
the scent is strong, bold, a bit sharp.
i’m usually not a huge fan of musk but here it is intoxicating. the jasmine is also a beautiful add.
an interesting rose scent, and although I have many rose fragrances I still might get this one purely for that phenomenal performance.
now let’s discuss the bottle - there are 3 versions: this tester like bottle, a metallic pink and gold and a metallic fully pink.
for the tester like bottle - i’m not gonna lie.. I kinda hate it. the feeling it gives, almost like polystyrene - it makes me cringe by touching it. it also looks.. cheap. the other versions are much better. personally I love the fully pink one and i’m hoping to find it. until i’ll find the fully pink one I probably won’t buy.
luckily I found lots of discounts for the montale perfumes, so I definitely recommend checking ALL of the options before you impulse buy.
I wouldn’t call this a safe blind buy as well.

Frenchghost

This is very pretty&Feminine, I love how the rose in this isn't sharp,I'm not a big fan of musk&yet this is very likeable pretty&delicate&yet present, good longevity, medium cloud, nice to sample 🌹 I like how this doesn't have the typical green rose stems&this has more rose petals! Considering a fb ¿?maybe not, very smooth°•°•°☆•°•°

renonagasan

I agree with Seliko below, this is for those who can't stand Intense Cafe and Roses Vanille. I have gotten rid of my bottles of those and also the Zara Rose Gourmand that smells like Intense Cafe because I can't stand how heavy and sometimes sickly they smell on me. This one is half as "sticky" as those perfumes but made brighter and musky. The opening almost reminded me of Roses de Chloe by Chloe and A Kiss From a Rose by Kilian but after 5mins, when it starts to dry down, that's when it becomes its own perfume and when my love for this perfumes begins. Everything becomes more balanced, the jasmine comes alive side by side with the pink rose that's giving this some brightness, complimenting the musk, slightly smells soapy and clean. It's an 8/10 for me. I love this.

lanasmellrey

maybe the only rose frag that smells good with my body chemistry. warm and musky instead of the usual sharp bright rose. i find it funny that the comment below me references a metallic scent when i find this to be the only rose perfume that doesn’t smell metallic on me! everyone is different

La Bella Rosa 222

Rose jam on a metal spoon... Not sure how I feel about it yet.

ChocoLei

Previous reviews are spot on--- this is a stripped down Intense Café and also quite similar to a stripped down Delina, it's just roses and musk. I personally get a hint of fruitiness in here. Pear? Red berries? My imagination? Perhaps the latter haha.

The more I get used to Montale signature take on rose, the more I like it. It's really, unapologetically Montale and I actually like how bold it is. However, it does feel softer and closer to the skin than the Intense Café series. The fact it's just roses and musk makes this appropriate for spring, but it may still be too much for hot summer.

The layering combo suggested by jbsherry sounds amazing! In the same vein, I would then be really curious to see how it performs with JHAG Not a Perfume too.

Encici

Am I the only one who gets coca cola vibes here?😄 or just my nose tricks me like this. Anyways this will work in the summer beautifully. Also due to its simplicity it can be used for various layering combos. This is an outstanding rose scent. The musk is not dark, the rose is sweet and juicy. Though the performance is huge, the scent itself is airy and clean.

Update - it became one of my signatures in the last half year. I do use it for layering and I'm telling you I am getting my life with it. I love it so much, it is now my 3rd fav and totally an all lifer for me. yeaaahhhh

seliko

if you like Intense Cafe or Roses Vanille but they are too heavy for you, Roses Musk is the perfect alternative. it is basically the same scent -slightly less sweet- but way more subtle and sits closer to skin

jbsherry

This is a more versatile and non-gourmand version of Intense Cafe & I agree with a another reviewer’s characterization of it as a “stripped-down version of Delina. It’s a pink, fresh rose with a musk base and a hint of jasmine. Simple and sexy in an uncomplicated fashion and suitable for just about any occasion.

I have to highly disagree with one reviewer’s characterization of the musk here as “dirty,” in fact this is one of the cleaner musks I’ve smelled! The musk here is nothing compared to the intensity of the musk used in the Narciso scents, imo. I don’t find it animalic/corporeal in the slightest. The musk reminds me of the musk in Glossier You, actually. Tip: if you own Glossier You, it layers beautifully.

All in all, this is a lovely and sophisticated rose fragrance that showcases the flower in a modern way without making it gourmand/woody/patchouli.

Update: I did declutter this as I found it redundant also owning Intense Cafe. I would have kept it if I did not have IC, however. It does have less projection than IC to me though, it sits much closer to the skin. This might be the better choice if you prefer subtlety in a fragrance.

Eugeniavdn

The rose is beautiful here, young, fresh and without any sweetness at all which made me like it basically. Yet the rose lasts not more than 20 min on my skin and then what is left is a pure animalistic musk. I adore it but please beware if you don’t - since it’s basically what you’ll be wearing for most of the time with this perfume.
As with any good musk, projection and longevity are great.
For me it’s not worth a FB, but it’s a beautifully done fragrance that could be a find for those that are not into “rosy roses” or common mixes of a rose with vanilla or oud.

Sanrio

Well, he wasn't lying. It's roses and musk. A little dry, no dewiness or sweetness to this rose. There is a slight antiseptic quality for the first 15 minutes. Settles in nicely into the skin though.

In true Montale fashion, the longevity and sillage are nuclear and it's easy to spray too much.

JupiterMoon

Exactly what it says on the label: smells of roses, and when it dries down the musk appears. From Montale, I have tried this and Starry Night. I find their perfumes to be glamorous, a bit loud and flashy. They evoke a mature woman all glammed up to go out to dinner or a party.

This is a bit sharp and sour (like Starry Night) and makes a statement. I like the rose in this, it's fresh. I think it is at a good price range- not cheap, but not too expensive. You get what you pay for and it hits the mark. It's good quality and strength. I think it is worth it if you want a simple but effective rose/musk perfume.

Lola18

This scent smells like fresh roses mixed with a little bit of tiger balm. That's the only way I can describe it. Simple, but not boring. However, I prefer rose scents that are sweeter than this one.

CHarris23

A yummy daytime, fresh rose. I wore this for my best friend’s wedding and had all the bridesmaids writing down what it was. Feels elegant and refined without being too complex. I’ve found it to be addicting.

Adriennne

Fresh and dewy rose. Young and sparkling. Mono scent. Very boring and smells synthetic. I expected more. At least now I know niche does not mean better... i tried a few more. Nah.

midnightmango

Was hoping for a fresh rose. Unfortunately for me, it’s a sour/jammy rose. Like a reviewer said below, this is basically Delina stripped down to just the rose and musk. I don’t like Delina so this is a bust for me but if you like Delina, you may very well like this.

Projection: 4/5
Longevity: 4/5
Feminine

EstherR

Good preformance, used all bottle.

annasarahr121

Montale Roses Musk is definitely a high quality, long-lasting musky rose scent. While I love me some musky roses (Zara Fashionably London or Monsoon Rose Gold, for example), this Montale musky rose has an unpleasant "oily" quality that reminds me somehow of the smell of cooking oil gone rancid (and I know the bottle is still good because I have a decant of Intense Roses Musk which has this same aspect). Luckily, I got this for a decent price and will just re-sell it.

lmnsvgz

If Delina has just rose and musk, no other notes. The rose is fresh and juicy, the musk is clean. The perfume is very likeable but I don't find it that impressive.

Flared Maple

I once smelled this perfume while taking a trip on the train. I was fully convinced someone had brought a large bouqet of fresh cut roses in the coupe. I was instantly in love and went on a hunt to find this amazing scent.

It took me a couple visits to department stores and some google searches to find the scent I caught on the train, but as soon as I smelled Roses Musk I knew I had struck gold.

Sadly though, Montale perfumes seem to not mix well with my body chemistry.
Just like Montale Intense Cafe, Roses Musk smells AMAZING in the air, but HORRIBLE on my skin.
In the air its fresh cut pink roses. On my skin its a cloyingly sweet rose and sour musk.

Not a safe blind buy.

I do love spraying this on my winter coat or in my car though. A light spritz also does very well as a pillow spray in the guest bedroom.

Edit:
I tried layering this with a mono-note vanilla scent to warm it up a little bit. That made this perfume wearable for me.

Dawnya7b

I had intense cafe I absolutely love the dry down but I hated the coffee part that only lasted like ten minutes anyway. I happily had it for a year and was offered a trade for this when I stupidly agreed. Only because at first I thought it smelled just like it without that stupid coffee note. As a few days passed I realized Boy was I wrong. IC is smoother richer more vanillic and lasts way longer and projects way better. At least my bottle did. I sold this in less than two weeks of owning and I did keep trying it.

rinrinlovesrinrin

i watched a youtube montale/mancera comparisons video recently where they compared each mancera perfume with its montale counterpart. i had no idea mancera and montale are basically the same company (don't quote me on that, but i think it's this concept). montale roses musk smells to my nose, almost identical to mancera roses vanille. it has the same sugared rose, with that heavy bourbon smell that i am sensitive to. my entire body turns red from just sniffing this on my hand. i am a tomato 🍅. i'm perplexed because this is their most popular fragrance but i smell something completely different than what others smell. i've tried this scent already a few years ago, hoping my nose could learn to pick up the notes that most others smell, but... nothin's changed. it's still a perfume i prefer on anybody else but me. this has in addition to the bourbon smell, a sharp note that smells almost peppery. it's an acquired taste...... i mean montale also created chypre vanille which quickly became a favorite of mine so i know this has its own audience, but it's so sharp and quite spicy to be a rose fragrance.

Janney

Simply put: one of the best rose fragrances out there! It’s not a fresh scent, but it smells very “clean”, like a “sparkling” rose bouquet.
I can imagine this being appropriate for any season and any setting.
It has this happy “pick me up” vibe, which I adore!
Another classic from Montale.

10/10

Nemorivaga

I do love this scent as in just like the scent in itself. I've been a bit less certain how I feel about wearing it. But I do find it to be the most addictive perfume in my collection, I just constantly feel like smelling it.
But, I also understand how this one could be polarizing and not for everyone. It's not a light scent, it feels quite thick and heavy. Guessing it’s the musk. I feel like the thickness of it can easily become a bit much for me, the same way you might enjoy a certain cake but only manage a small spoon of it beacause its so filling.
Incredible sillage and performance, I bought a big bottle so it’ll probably last forever.. I really like it though, mature and feminine. Addictive.

Meris

This beautiful scent reminds me of my mums miniature estee lauder set ba k when I was a little girl. It's an old pure rose scent.

I appreciate the simplicity of the fresh pink rose, to my nose. I get a tiny bit of citrus, lipstick & musk. It’s nice.

As with all of the Montale line, the 1st spray chokes me. (Only brand that does this to me.) Montale performance usually makes up for that, but not here.

With so many options, and meh performance, it isn’t FBW for me.

Anusha1108

This last forever on my skin! Its a clean rose, Jasmine musk. Simple, elegant and not fussy or complicated....there's beauty in that.

zivanovicdragana93

I am in love with this one.. It’s simple roses and musk but the smell is amazing. And one note it’s not granny rose scent it’s sexy montale rose. For me this is hot, sexy perfume, i could wear it during all year it’s intense but ok for summer nights as well.

egn

A really cute, spritzy, fresh, powdery rose. Reminds me a tiny tad of Carven L'absolu or Le Parfum, can't remember which one. I was afraid the musk would take over in this one, but it doesn't!
The dry-down reminds me of...bell pepper? Is that weird? It makes it more complex and interesting, though.

Really versatile! An all day, all year kind of scent. Could be a runner-up for a signature scent for me.

KBankston00

This smells exactly like Roses Vanille minus the Vanilla. I actually really love it. its nice!

Eveningrose

This is an oudy rose scent for sure. It has like a middle eastern touch to it. Smells very rich and opulent. It also is kind of similar to Roses Vanille and Zara Rose Gourmand to my nose. I don’t see a need to have all three of those in my collection.

Shafi

When I first sprayed it on my wrist it instantly reminded me of chloe signature by chloe and delina, but the impression faded away and I found myself sniffing a new perfume and I loved it! Although the sillage is very less for me and almost like a skin scent, but I couldn't stop sniffing my wrist! It's beautifully done in my opinion and is very smooth, but the sillage and performance is really low. I have to go with many sprays and retouching it during the day, but still love it though, it's a gorgeous soft, delicate and feminine scent that relaxes and pampers me a lot and I feel I'm cared for when I put this scent on. It's lovely for those lazy weekend afternoons cosying in bed or lounging at home with a hot cuppa tea and do some self soothing things or watch my favourite shows on TV... it's lovely to wear for an outdoor brunch when the weather is just beautiful! I think women in their 30s and 40s can pull it off very well. I would definitely buy it again If it was a longer lasting perfume with better sillage as there are other similar musk and rose fragrances with much better performance at this price point.

likesleet

smells sweaty to me. otherwise it's exactly as it's promised. if this is for you, you'll know it

Nora Gad

i couldn't stand it ...it's so Oudy for me ,,,i can smell the Middle Eastern vibes.

Ceekel

This is a very pretty summer rose. I personally can smell the rose and it's not mature smelling. But soft and pretty. You can definitely definitely wear in the heat and still smell fresh. It's nothing over the top. It's a like for me.

Sharbelabuwarda

Don’t let the name mislead you.
It’s mostly the “Montaly” Ambergris, supported by a little bit of Rose and way way back there, there’s musk.
Smells like a number of Montale fragrances and also, the middle eastern brands, not special.
Thought it might resemble Juliette Has A Gun fragrances or Narciso Rodriguez, but no, it doesn’t AT ALL.

It’s basic Montale.

LayersAndLayers

I'm wearing the body cream in Roses Musk and to me it smells very similar to BBW Rose. I can smell rose, musk, and something citrussy in it. It's very fresh and for some reason reminds me also of a very clean dentist office, but in the best way possible. I definitely like it, but I don't think I would buy a bottle of the perfume because it's very simplistic and because of this it's not worth the money.

Artio

On my skin this is a lovely sweet rose with a slight musky undertone. I don’t pick up much jasmine but I am getting something slightly synthetic. It has great projection.

Unruly Julie

Once again, reading the reviews impresses on me how personal a fragrance is. On me, Roses Musk is sweetly floral and I can really smell the Jasmine (which I adore). I just sprayed it for the first time and like it very much so far. I don't imagine that I will buy a full bottle, because as others have said, there are better rose fragrances out there, but I may pick up some more samples or a travel spray.

artsyfartsyhaha

I love this so much! SO beautiful on it's own as a strong roses musk scent but I also love it for layering purposes.
I layer this with L'imperatrice for a more fruity sweet floral scent for summer. I wanted Delina La Rosee but this layering gives me the vibe I need!

Kid_izzy

As a man I was curious if I could pull this off.
However, I wanted a soft rose that may be suitable for all occasions.

Initially It smelled of nothing more than bug repellent. I came back to revisit a few weeks later and it’s actually improved. Because of the strength, I decided to use half sprays when applying. My fiancé says she enjoys this scent on me.

Smelled Roses Musk against a bottle of Rose Absolou essential oil and actually very close.
I received quite a few compliments.

Silliage is in abundance as well as longevity. While I will use the bottle I will not purchase another. It is a nice scent but I would like to find one with a softer opening.

YLC629

Over the past year or so I've come to realize that I love rose when it's done right, particularly in Montale and Mancera scents. I got a sample of this and recently purchased a full bottle. The rose is so sweet and bright with a soft musk background. It does remind me of Mancera Roses Vanille but it's a bit lighter so I can wear it during the summer as I live in a hot climate. My daughter and husband always notice when I wear this and compliment me. The performance isn't actually that great on me unless I overspray but I don't mind.

LauraAD

This is not a subtle, natural rose for a blushing wallflower; this is a LOUD quite synthetic rose with huge balsamic undertones. I don't get much jasmine at all, it's all loud rose and balsamic but with musk in the drydown. I don't hate it, but it's not one for helping you blend in to the background. Lasts forever...more than 24h on skin and longer on clothes and hair. Projects very strongly.

sharky_shosho

Strong jammy rose with a musky base. It resembles Mancera's roses vanilla but on a softer and less sweet level. If you find RV to be too much, give this a chance.

Vanillalover100

This is definitely for mature women.
It's very very musky i wish it had some sort of sweetness. I can onky wear it after layering it with any vanilla perfume..

Rayy.an

Love this perfume. It's one of those perfumes you crave.. However I believe the brand played with the strength and quality of this perfume way too much. A few years back this perfume was strong and would last for days! This is the second year in a raw where Roses musk's performance has completely changed, it became so weak that you can barely smell the fragrance anymore! If the quality of this fragrance was still the same I wouldn't have said it's overpriced. If you love a playful rose scent with a little fresh musk then go for it!

Julysoul

Definitely a smell my nose misses when I don't use it for a long time. If you like musk and rose high silage, I am sure you will love it.

Fashionplatefanny

Wow this just stinks! I don’t think I could stand to be around anyone wearing this. It’s a migraine in an ugly bottle. Firstly if you survive the initial spray ( it’s suffocating for sure) you’ll find a very fake synthetic rose. It is loud, overwhelming and way overpriced! It literally burns my nose.
I love rose in a perfume. I’m fond of the green fresh cute rose note, the jammy sweet rose, the juicy fruity rose and the powdery pink nanna rose but this thing just doesn’t smell like rose at all.
There are much better rose fragrances out there for much less.

laukin911

My ideal feminine perfume! Lots of designer rose perfumes make me feel nauseated but montale just blends everything perfectly for my nose!
If I didn't have a perfume collection this would be my spring signature scent. Perfect for a first date where you just want to feel pretty!

OnTheNose1982

What can I say about this? First you need to know that it’s one of my favourite fragrances. I would say it’s a signature fragrance only following Etat Libre’s Experimentum Crucis.

I have always loved perfumes, but didn’t know the niche world existed until I met my partner. I had just run out of my perfume (Armani Because it’s You) and asked him if he liked it enough that I should buy another bottle…at which point he showed me his impressive collection of perfumes and samples. O.M.G! Needless to say, my fragrance obsession started at that point.

Roses Musk was one of the first niche samples I tried and I loved it immediately. I used to think that I didn’t like rose scents or even florals in general, but was proven wrong. Now rose scents are some of my favourites!

This is only slightly sweet and warm because the musk keeps it grounded and cool. Love that this perfume doesn’t change much because I love how it smells upon first spray. It’s bold and lasts the entire day (and longer on clothes!), which on my skin is a feat because most scents just disappear on me.

I will say though that I have tried a few other Montales and Manceras (Intense Cafe, Starry Night, Roses Greedy, etc.) and I have either not loved them or found them too similar to Roses Musk to purchase them. I have a bunch of samples coming from these houses and I’m hoping to find another gem among them.

For me Roses Musk is a staple rose scent and one that I will always continue to wear!

LemonLane

Ok so this is really a beautiful rose but I just can’t get passed the underlying but very strong synthetic almost medicinal scent. It’s also a bit sour and screechy on my skin. I had the same problem with Roses Vanille and to my nose, they are EXACTLY the same. Much better rose fragrances out there.

HMY

The beauty is in simplicity, this is how I would describe the perfume. its such a different rosy perfume for me. I tried different rose perfumes like miss dior (which is too strong and sweet for me) or chloe (too powdery) but this one is perfect. You can really smell the rose but not sweet rose or powder rose, rose that its growing in the forest or garden without any chemicals. its a fresh woody rose . the projectivity is great (last all day with 2 sprays), you can easily wear it during the day, in the office. this is pleasant smell which will not bother anyone, i would def repurchase the bottle

irlfireprincess

I like this, but I don't love it. I would probably buy a travel size but not a full bottle, and would probably use it for layering rather than by itself. The rose note is beautiful but the musk is a bit much for me and I wish it were tempered by something else.

Jmalone84

Pleasant fresh rose aroma with some pepperyness and what I thought was lemon? Longevity not amazing . The jasmine has an interesting quality. Not sure if I like it or not

MareaCamacho

This is a review for the glossy metal bright pink bottle with golden atomizer top.
This scent is sooo yummy. At first I didn't think it was anything spectacular or love at first sniff, it was more of a "hmm that's nice and different" like a muddy rose almost , a rose with petrichor on its petals, like the first morning dew on a rose bush. Something truly earthy. Like dirt with rose but not dirty if you know what I mean.
It's hard to explain but really simple at the same time. Complex yet enough to understand that it's just so simplistic. And sometimes that's all I need.

I also love to layer this. I have a pheromone oil that smells fruity so I roll that on, spray this under my hair at the back of my neck, the nap of my neck (it is quite oily be careful)

Also along my inner arms and I layer that with jasmine wisp from rasasi.

It is such a dreamy, ethereal experience for me. Things happen, magic happens for me and I am just in my own world of smells that just do it for me.

I bought a 3.4 Oz at ross for $75 which is much better then spending over $100. 🙃 I will continue to buy if I see it at my local ross but other than that-- Still a very long lasting fragrance and truly linear. A nice experience that will grow on you. I find myself craving it and can still smell it 10+ hours later and still going strong. My first montale fragrance. It is a love.

hollymichaelm

This is a sex bomb. It takes a departure from the regular montale vanilla vibes in to the world of animal and sexual musk. It's great - very sexual.

Farangismua

Omgggggg Montale nailed this one 😱 I cant believe Ive been sleeping on this one, well I still been missing on a lot but omg Im in love 😻 this is sooo airy and girlie and aromatic omg. You will not get a granma rose instead a luxurious rose and musk omg such a beautiful blend I cant this is so amazing Im getting a bottle

Softpeacelily

A very two dimensional rose with hints of musk. It’s light, airy and the rose is more fresh than jammy (I prefer jammy rose - think Lush Rose Jam). Perfect for day time and a fun flirty smell that’s very feminine.

Before_Sunrise

Ooh my beloved Roses Musk 🌹
I feel like a Goddess when I wear you all over my skin combined with the gorgeous perfumed Roses Musk body lotion.
Some people find RM sexy on me🔥💥🔥
I just feel like a Goddess who's on a LOVE Mission ❤
Be sure to buy the pre-reformulated bottle of this magic juice. If you want to smell the real thing, look up for the matte(not glossy) fuchsia bottle with the golden stripes. Nowadays RM has been reformulated unfortunately.

juliannmay

Not a huge fan of rose but I was pleasantly surprised by this. That says a lot for a non rose lover! It’s light and sophisticated. 7/10

DHakky

Fresh roses on musky background thats it ...different and chic

cristiana27

perfect fresh rose scent, lasts forever and dries very nicely onto the skin.

brittanyandco

This is such a strange fragrance to me. I blind bought it and at first, I HATED it! But then, I started to crave it. I would spray it on my wrist just to sniff it, spray it on my blanket etc. Now I really like it. I smell nothing but roses and musk, just like the name says. I know the notes say it has jasmine but I can't smell any jasmine at all. It's reminiscent of Mancera Roses Greedy, but Roses Greedy is much sweeter and the jasmine is much more pronounced. Roses Musk is the opposite of a warm fragrance, this smells very cool, very sharp. I'd wear it year round but most would see it as a spring and summer fragrance.

yana.levus

After trying Roses Musk I started craving more perfumes with dominant rose in my collection.

It’s a super simple perfume, the name gives away everything about it. A beautiful combination of rose and musk with a small hint of jasmine. Rose has definitely the main voice in the trio - it is very loud and juicy here, so prepare yourself for that! I love spraying Roses Musk right after the shower to get rather fresh feel of it. At the same time, I must say this Montale gem might get pretty heavy and overwhelming. Nonetheless, it’s an amazing well-blended feminine scent that instantly boosts your confidence. Also, Roses Musk is a powerhouse of a fragrance with a great sillage.

Indeed, Roses Musk is quite similar to Intense Cafe or Roses Vanille - I would say, that Roses Musk is a base and by layering other perfumes with similar notes to IC or RV, you might get either of two. Must add, I’m not a fan of these perfumes, but Roses Musk has hit the right spot!

kerrylovesgourmand

I'm not muh of a rose fan, but this is a beautiful rose fragrance with beast mode longevity and good projection. I think this is a lovely spring scent. Very linear, but that's what it's supposed to be - just roses and musk.

angelala

Roses musk smells almost identical to Intense Cafe but fresher in the opening. For reference, I am not a fan of amber and the amber dominates this fragrance and Intense Cafe for me.

beforesunset_mj

I was gifted this by my beloved sister who fell in love with it instantly. In my case, I took my sweet time with it. I am not much of a rose fan so I was disappointed when I first got it but then it started to grow on me. It works well with my body chemistry and my husband always compliments me whenever I wear it. Would I buy it again? No. Do I enjoy it? Yes. In short, I like it but don't love it.

gmaster

First impression: wow this is so screechy for the nose. It makes me want to sneeze badly. It feels dangerously strong and I only have 2 sprays (one on each forearm). I know cedarwood isn't in the notes, but wow do I smell it. Curious to see how this wears over time. As I'm writing this review, I find this fragrance aggressive and metallic. I'm actually shocked at the reviews mentioning that this is a soft rose. To me, it's a nuclear bomb. Artificial rose note as well.

helga.sofia

I was looking for a perfume with strong silage and longevity for hot weather... and I like very feminine and slightly sweet perfumes. That being said I went on the hunt for this perfume and after reading all the positive review on Fragrantica I decided to blind buy Rose Musk. I was very disappointed at first. There's not much complexity to this perfume. It's a pleasant rose and a cheap musk.... and then the rose goes away and the musk stays in with this smell that reminds me of my grandma medicinal cabinet for the next 10 min.... but theeeeen the musk tones down a lot and for several hours you're served with this green fresh rose which is very beautiful and simple. I personally like my perfumes a a little bit more complex... it's like this is missing a stone fruit or some vanilla... the jasmin could have done it... but I don't smell it at all. Would I recommend this perfume for the purpose I was looking for? No. Is it a good perfume? Yes. It has a decent silage and longevity. The scent at the end is nice... not amazing... but for the price you're not wasting your money.

magicalcat

The opening has a similar vibe to Delina. I had to double check to be sure I didn't accidentally spray my Delina sample instead of my Roses Musk sample. But, the dry down is very different. Roses Musk is a beautiful fragrance. The name is true to the scent, as rose and musk are the two power players here. The musk gives it a lot of elegance and sophistication. I get the faintest hint of jasmine, but it's very subdued. To me, this perfume smells like a large bouquet of roses from a luxury florist. It's really nice. If you're looking for a true rose perfume, this would be great to have in your collection.

SailorV

This might be THE quintessential Montale, at least for those who are interested in the more feminine leaning, non-oudy side of things. If you have never tried anything from this house and just want to know what the "Montale DNA" mentioned in many reviews is, Roses Musk is the perfect starting point.
It does what it says on the tin: Rose and musk, without any hidden twists. The rose is tart and reminiscent of red wine. It is not jammy, soapy, powdery or dewy. The musk is sweet and creamy, rather clean than animalic. Both give a synthetic impression, but not in an unpleasant, scratchy way. Some words that come to my mind to describe this sensation are cool, polished, hot pink, smooth and radiating. Roses Musk is the kind of perfume that feels right at home in the city, with dramatic lipstick and high heeled boots, and would be a little out of place on a walk through nature. I would wear it when it when I want to feel confident and alert, not calm and cozy.
There are many similar perfumes to this, most notably Montale's own Intense Café and Mancera Roses Vanilla. I prefer Intense Café for the coffee and vanilla that make it a little warmer, but Roses Musk is basically the same thing without any gourmand notes. Maybe also not quite as nuclear, but still a very good performer that won't go unnoticed.

shaeri87

I liked this enough that decided it was FBW and found it for a decent price under retail so I'm not mad about it. When I first sprayed this on the blotter, I was instantly reminded of some kind of cosmetic smell that I must have had in the past, like a lipstick that smelled this way, or a powder, and I absolutely loved it. Now having the full bottle and spraying quite generously today, I realize this is not a fragrance to be full on dousing yourself in! Unless of course you're an over-sprayer in general, then go for it! This has beastly projection, in my opinion, and very good longevity. At first spray on my skin, I get this plasticky smell, it's very interesting, almost like if a plastic rose had a fragrance. But for some reason I just love it! It's a simple fragrance, which is quite obvious from the very few notes, but that's what's great about it. It's beautiful, and makes me feel like a girly girl when I'm wearing it. I like that it doesn't have any gourmand notes in it, and I love musk, so the combination of floral and musk is just perfect for me. I don't get much of the jasmine at all, it's mainly just rose, and it stays quite linear for the duration of wear. The musk gives it that skin-like quality where it seems like your skin is just naturally exuding this gorgeous rose scent, and at the same time, it has that cosmetic-like rose scent that is so nostalgic to me. It's been several hours since I first sprayed, and I know I am still projecting, but I have gone slightly nose blind to it when I go to actually smell my arm, but that's because I'm still in this beautiful pink bubble of of roses and musk. If you want to smell absolutely beautiful, and you're into rose scents, you will not be disappointed with this one. It has tremendous projection, sillage, longevity, and for all those reasons, it's worth it to me. If you are a skin-scent type of person, then you will need to spray this very lightly and from far away, or skip it all together. If you are a rose lover, then you need this in your collection. Visually, this fragrance is about 5 bouquets worth of bright fuchsia roses on your vanity, wearing a white fur stole, while applying your lipstick before heading out the door. Can be worn during the day or at night, whenever you want! Also wanted to mention that this does not smell like Mancera's Roses Vanille to me, which I also have. They're different, but at the same time, Mancera's Roses Vanille does have that signature Montale Rose note, IYKYK.... so I can kind of see why people think they are similar. Roses Vanille is a spicy, rosey, vanilla. Also not sure how this compares to PDM's Delina, but having smelled that once in-store on the blotter, this is no way similar to that either. Delina smelled super fruity and reminded me of an Escada perfume from back in the day. SuzanneS down below, bravo, I agree 100% =D

JellyB88yummy

I can smell the Montale jammy Rose and musk equally. I have roses musk, Roses Vanille and Intense Cafe.
The difference:
Roses Musk - Rose and musk (base model)
Roses Vanille- Roses Musk with Sweet Vanilla
Intense Cafe- Roses Vanille with coffee

I love and wear all of them depending on my mood.

Roses Musk: smells good any occasion
Roses Vanille: Refined and sensual, date night.
Intense cafe: versatile, projects the most out of the 3.

SuzanneS

This is straight four on the floor, pedal to the metal loud roses and musk. It takes no prisioners, and in typical Montale fashion big and strong. Easy on the trigger.

On second thought throw caution into the wind, overspray and hopefully choke a bunch of attorneys out in an elevator. They kinda deserve it. A fun ride.

adelaidesandrina

Don’t hate me but when i first sprayed this i was like DELINA? Then i went eh.. no. Smells like it but delina is much smoother and creamier. Glad i’m not the only one who thinks so :)

Mary_M

I had never tried Montale perfumes. Blind bought a travel spray. Did not think I would like it that much.
I though it was extremely strong at first spray. 5 minutes later I could not smell it at all. Sprayed again - rose, musk, peony (???) and something candy like. 5 min later - I almost can not smell it again. Subtle rose and musk. Very enjoyable. Then nothing again.... This is odd. My partner says it lingers around all day and smells 'rosy and fresh' from far. I can definitely smell it on my clothes next day (and many days later).
Try before you buy.

AnnaElli

It is what it says : roses and musk. I do not get much jasmine listed in the notes, though. Inoffensive, every day, I'd even say quite generic rose scent. Not too sweet, not too powdery, definitely not dark or jammy kind of rose, it is more on the delicate, clean, light side. The performance is not as good as I am used in other Montale scents.

MagdalenaM

At first I felt that its identical to Intense Cafe, but the drydown is different to my nose, on clothes at least. The scent develops differently, but they are of a very similar DNA. RM is cold, cool, a little deep and reserved. I get a sense of walking through a frozen rose garden in a fairytale. I find that I tend to go a little nose-blind every now and then with it, but other times, when I smell it I find it so attractive and appealing. When you really focus on this scent I find that it has an intoxicating quality which makes Montales stand out to me, but this is not for everybody and I would recommend testing it first.

mendalia

Maybe its just me but this is super close to Delina and Roses Extase (Nina Ricci). I have both and was shocked at similar it is, Not sure you need this one if you have either of the fragrances above but it is nice an it lasts a long time.

carlaelle

Greeting everyone, out of interest, does anyone have terrible skin chemistry with Montale fragrances? This absolutely smells vile on my skin, as does Intense Cafe. They both have this foul note that arises after half an hour. Its the exact same note for both. I had to frantically wash my hand where I had sprayed the tester. Thank god I didn't blind buy!

Shasta Dawn

I think this is a delicate, fresh rose. It isn’t too sweet. It’s musk heavy and I really like that about it. A clean pretty rose scent. Gives me some Delina vibes. Decent longevity and projection. It’s nicely done. It’s really affordable for what it is. Most designer rose scents in this price range aren’t nearly as nice as this.

As my search for the perfect rose scent continues, I give this an 8/10.

Tee

simple and straightforward: fresh feminine powdery nose. the intense version has a touch of ambery sweetness and lasts even longer than tje already impressive regular roses musk. on my dry skin the regular and intense lasts pretty much the same 3-4 hours. but on clothing...it lasts more than 12 hours! the intense is still going strong even at 12hours plus! this is impressive, as usually this style of rose doesnt last that long on me!

Lilli95

Had high hopes, but this is very plain fresh rose musk on me. Very weak and bad lasting power compared to other montale fragrances on my skin (and clothes). Not so wow. Maybe nice for summer days if you are not into citrus and need a light floral.

bbyjuul

this is a very pretty, pink princess scent, something like what sleeping beauty would wear.. unfortunately the sillage and longevity is terrible on me! wasnt expecting it to be this weak

emerson10

When I first sprayed this, I thought this was such a beautiful rose- such a lovely, soft musky rose that leaves a gorgeous trail. On skin, however, there is something very plastic-y in the dry down that I cannot get past. When compared to similar frags (Intense Cafe, Delina, etc.), this is my least fav. Elegant but a tad too synthetic -- maybe there's ambroxan in this? It smells similar to the musk in JHAG Not A Perfume (plus rose).

Rosemary14

This has been compared to many fragrances: Roses Vanille, Intense Cafe, etc... To me it smells a lot like to Delina. It has the same sour, cold, fresh feeling. Maybe it isn’t as velvety and deep but you really don’t need both fragrances they are so similar.

SophieVictoria93

This smells very similar to when Intense Cafe dries down and loses its opening coffee note. However, Roses Musk has a more soapy scent that Intense Cafe, which makes it more powdery and feminine.

If you liked Intense Cafe dried down but was disappointed with its projection (as Intense Cafe is one of Montale’s weaker perfumes) I would get this instead. I have smelt a lot of Montale’s perfumes and although this one isn’t my favourite, it did stick out to me, which is why I imagine it has become one of his most popular.

I am a big fan of the Montale DNA so I love this perfume, however I can understand why it would not be to everyone’s taste.

juksi

One of my most loved fragrances. Makes me feel so good about myself.

suki0101

I like the rose in roses musk and it is indeed a similar rose to Roses Vanille but fresher and colder. Unlike in Roses Vanille, which I love, I sadly get a metallic (iron?) note in this as others mentioned. My search for a fresh, sweet summer rose continues.

Mennaa

As an Arab, this smells exactly like every small musk bottle that might be laying around that my parents uses early on a Friday morning. Bought this because of the raving reviews, and I thought I would be disappointed, and I definitely am. The smell for me is very repetitive and could’ve easily got this for much less. I understand that the westerns could easily be mesmerized by this for being “different” and oriental, but for me it’s far more different than what I’m looking for. I appreciate my Narciso musk way more because they are done in a delightful way. However, Montale’s Roses Musk is potent and suffocating and far from being sexy for me just because it smells like my childhood. The only perk is the longevity and sillage tho.

L.bss

synthetic pungent stuff..nope

monokeros

Love love love!! With roses 🌹 and musk nothing can go wrong! You will definitely get noticed and you will get a lot of compliments! It is what it promises 💗 plus..montale means loong lasting!

Christinageor10

A lovely, fresh and approachable rose fragrance. It is a crowd pleasing scent you can wear to any occasion. I get compliments whenever I wear it.

MishkaPumpkin

Smells practically identical to Intense Café so I would recommend only sampling one of them

Meme1

I blind bought this perfume after hearing all the hype around it but it turned out to be a total waste of money I absolutely hate it’s smells cheap and old it gives me a headache every time I try to wear it

hannah99

I got a little sample of this and I am glad it wasn’t the full bottle, purely because I have Intense Cafe and it smells almost identical minus the coffee note. I love the coffee note so much- so the other is just better in my opinion! But it’s not bad by any stretch, I just love intense cafe.

Siv7Stars

Got a sample. Not what I was expecting at all. It's so fresh it's cold on me. Refrigerated roses. Not real ones, but like rose flavouring in confectionary, like cordial or Turkish delight. I'm not feeling the supposed powdery aspect. I really like it so far, I'm not getting plastic like some have mentioned, always my bugbear. It is a bit synthetic but in a different nice way somehow. If I want natural smelling rose I just use essential oils. This is linear, which I love, I have very little patience for development. It does seem to form a cloud around me.
Addendum: I gave up on this in the end. I noticed it's synthetic 'robot roses' qualities more n more & I find the musk a bit rough somehow. I can see it's good qualities & it is very strong but ultimately not for me.

yiola.al

I have been looking for a rose fragrance for some time now.I wasnt buying any actually, only sampled quite a few.
Then I got a sample of this, liked it( wore it 2 days straight) and ordered a full bottle.I do get the plastic doll smell as others but also fresh roses and light musk. Not sweet at all, just fresh and powdery, clean like.Addictive.
Got so many complements for this. This is so unique for my amature nose.It is also my first ever MONTALE.Must try more.

I’m wearing this scent for the first time. This is the first impression after one day on my skin. Is not powdery at all. I smell rose and musk. Projection and sillage aren’t good on me. Longevity is great. Rose is soft and pretty and even if longevity is extreme the fragrance isn’t loud.

I like it, don’t love. I wanted a powdery loud beast, this on me is a long lasting, not powdery, soft and pretty rose, still good but no beast sillage and projection.

Daytime, any season.

aqua76239

I got sample of this with recent Montale purchase. Very heady sweet roses and even though vanilla is not in the notes, this is what it smells like-sweet roses and vanilla. I like it however, this is literally identical to 1)Intense Cafe or 2)Rose Vanilla Mancera. I mean, I had them in my wrists and I couldn't tell one apart from the other which lead me to wonder why would they produce three nearly identical scents?
I like it but I already have Bond Fashionista Avenue which also smells very very similar to this.
Lasting power is always good with this house so no complaints there. One small spray lasts for hours on me and projects like the beast.

Ace-of-swords

True, the musk is there in name only. That aside, this is truly a workhorse of a perfume. Sprayed liberally on clothes and body and went noseblind pretty fast and thought I should layer on Eau Capitale, ha ha ha. The juice went to my head! My husband quickly informed me that I was well saturated with fragrance. It's been almost a week and my denim jacket still smells like Roses Musk. This is a very feminine rose but it has the same DNA as many of Montale's signature female fragrances, so if you have Intense Cafe or Roses Vanille by Mancera, you don't need this.

Fleurie20

Montale Roses Musk is a very linear and potent rosey scent. I smell no jasmine, maybe it is there, but completely overshadowed by the almighty rose note.

As time passes, the rose does become less heady (yet still strong) but strangely enough, turns more synthetic-smelling. The syntheticness reminds me of cheaper rose fragrances (say those from The Body Shop).

Longevity and sillage are very good. The scent itself is just not my cup of tea. I much prefer a more airy, dewy, greener rose scent. This one feels like a high quality room freshener.

Atilola

I expected a lot more from this fragance after hearing all the hype, I suggest if you have Roses Vanille, do not buy this its not worth your money it smells literally the same I get no musk at all. I am so happy I got a 10ml sample o and not the full bottle.

bourcet

What a bubbly, upbeat, sexy rose. Starts out boozy and reminds me somewhat of an amaretto sour; I'm not exactly sure if it reminds me of the drink per se, or of the feeling of the drink and what that represents. Youth, excitement, flirtation, beauty. Fruitiness as an extension of youth; the fecundity of a girl with a fruity drink "cause she can't shoot whiskey." Like said girl, there is something a bit juvenile and cheap about this one, but I still like it nonetheless. I find it to be a very intoxicating, sexy and fun rose; the way that most straight men get hard ons from cheap, synthetic crowd pleasers like Nicki Minaj Pink Friday, this rose is definitely a man trapper. I can see most dudes going gaga over this. Having said that, I wore this on a date with a butch lesbian and she loved it, too. In terms of its uniqueness within the breadth of the Montale oeuvre, I can't say that this stands out, but it does have a very universal sexiness that lends itself to being a bestseller. Rose snobs may turn their nose up at the Barbieness of this fragrance, but a true rose lover would find its value and enjoy what Mr. Montale has to offer here.

Aloerose57

I thought this was just a like for me, until one day I woke up in a cold sweat craving the smell of it.. So I think I am addicted.

The only way I can describe this is rose with musk, done RIGHT

I had someone tell me it had a medicinal note but I personally don’t get that..

giri-boni

This is a very rosey rose. Very red, sexy, a bit mentholated in the beggining, laying on a cloud of musks. Gorgeous!

joseffgabriel

This is like a lighter Intense Café, a less playful Intense Café. Setting that aside, this is a legendary rose composition that should be known whenever entering niche perfumery. Many reviewers here got it from Kim Kardashian, but this is already in the game since late 2000's, its standard of a modern rose scent profile, not your rose that automatically reminds you of old times.

Sophiii

I LOVE LOVE this perfume. However, I don't understand why it disappears within a couple of hours, even if I heavily spray!

Edit: the fragrance doesn't totally go away, others could still smell it hours after, but not me! It just plays its magical trick on me, in the same way eccentric molecules do. I still Love it!

morganbowden

Straight up sexy. Does exactly what it says on the tin, not sure why some people were expecting a fresh or clean rose. It's not shy about smelling synthetic; on my skin, I get a really addictive hit of ambroxan. If I had to try and compare it to something, I'd say it's a *little* bit like mixing FM Portrait of a Lady with Le Labo Another 13. But sexier. And cheaper.

Alinany

Starts out plasticky like many Montale-Mancera but settles down to a creamy clean jasmine-rose scent. Not warm enough for me for winter (Roses Vanille is the winter version of it to me) but cant wait to wear in spring

ena_sexysweet93

God, I really wanted to love this. I love rose, and I love musk, and I thought what could go wrong?

I really don't understand how the words "delicate""fresh" "clean" can be applied to this scent. How can the musk in a scent go so wrong?? The musk is suffocating from first spray till the dry down 7 hours later... a strong, cloying, sour note that makes you wrinkle up your nose. The rose is okay enough, but the musk overpowers it all.

if I could describe this fragrance for someone who's never smelled it, imagine a glass of rotten milk. Left in the sun. Someone passes by and decides to spray rose water in the room to offset the rotten smell. The result would be Montale Roses Musk.

Cloying, rotten, absolutely unpleasant. I hope I never smell this again.

Magnoliah

This is a clean rose scent with great longevity. It is similar to Mancera Roses Vanille which is a tad sweeter and cozier thanks to the vanilla note. Between this and Roses Vanille I definitely prefer Roses Vanille. If you don't like sweet scents, however, and would like to have something with a similar vibe I would recommend Narciso Rodriguez Fleur Musc which is also a clean rose perfume without the synthetic note present in most Montale and Mancera fragrances.

Nourhan

Feminine, clean and super gorgeous

Flame Maiden

Roses Musk for me smells just like a fresh rose. I can't smell muskiness. It is pleasant enough if you like the real red roses smell because that's all you'll get for your money. I bought a decant and would not buy a FB. This is linear. It is sweet. Feminine. I find it cloying and boring to be honest.

Celestya

Musk and roses in a bottle (not complex perfume). Very feminine, it is a comforting scent with some woody touch. Longevity and sillage are very good. I prefer Intense café, which is more gourmand and unique to my opinion.
7/10 more for fall/winter and woman

grapefruit352

Musk here is too loud. Roses are fine, but for me its not enough. I would prefer if it would be at least 1 more flower here. Amber just does not exists in this perfume. Strange that somebody sometimes feels that there is an amber here. Its really a musky fragrance.

ree_ire88

I sprayed this over a month ago and hated it, to me it was too rosy and just all wrong. BUT Today, let me tell you I fell in freaking love. I thought I would revisit the scent and oh am I glad that I did. It wears beautifully on my skin, I get a sparkling rose and I detect the amber. I think my nose had to get used to this, as a newbie in the frag world.

casznava

I understand that Kim Kardashian loved this but the only reason she loved it is because when she was pregnant everything made her nauseas except roses smell. so she fell in love with this fragrance meanwhile pregnant and all but this reminds me of my Mexican aunt. She used to smell exactly like this I SWEAR ON GOD!

It smells good but I associate it with my aunt. It reminds me of Mexico.... like roses in Mexico.

I see why people like it, I do enjoy whiffs here and there but after a while, it's not one im intentionally reaching for.

lemuaa

Thought this was going be very orientalish... It's cold roses with hint of musk and something else. Sticks to clothes like glue.
Somehow the drydown hours, hours later reminds me of Escada Especially. Or Lancome Miracle.
Very expensive but even a tiny sample spray goes a long way.

Next day; The Musk smells very loud, almost annoying for my liking. The 2ml sample spray will be enough for me..

TuesdayTaylor

Mix Chloe “Roses de Chloe” with Dolce and Gabbana “Light Blue”. Starts out a bit more rose, ends up a bit more Light Blue. Not a bad fragrance but definitely overpriced.

artsyfartsyhaha

the coziest rose and the only one I can stand without it feeling like a soap or mixed with fruity notes that make it seem juvenile.

this is SEXY and pleasant. I like this more badass rose.

ziiish

I love roses. Roses are probably my number one favorite note in perfumes.
I have Roses Musk, and sometimes I enjoy wearing it. I remember not being very impressed by it the very first time I sampled it but I tried it again a couple months ago and bought a bottle.
This is definitely rose, a rather cold fruity rose.
I have tried layering it with a couple of perfumes but haven't been successful. I need more trial and error.
It leaves kind of an "aftertaste" on your skin as it dries.

Kon-nos91

I don't know why I am such a fool that everytime I am impressed by a perfume, I run to find the best deal and buy it like I've finally found the one, when I know what fits me and what's my signature. I am saying this to all of you (including me) that we're trying like mad to find THE ONE in a world full of new 'weak'-generic releases but deep inside we all know which one is it...most probably discontinued or used by everyone.

To the point, I do like Montale perfumes, not all of them, I do get the quality and the mega lasting power but guys, am I the only one who sees their creations like too linear or car/shop refreshers? (example: Mukhallat) Roses Musk is an exception, it's very well done, it exhales luxury and matureness at the same time. It's one of Kim's (Kardasian) favorites. Does it worth the price tag? I don't know, you can easily find the best seller of Montale in great prices but I have to tell you with my hand on my heart it's 100% synthetic (disappointed) and a 100% signature too (impressed, well it's a 2009's creation).

As I said, the lasting power is great, sometimes it projects as a beast, some others it stays closer to the skin and you get here and then the musk (rosie-soapy-animalic kind of at this creation). The closer rose that comes in mind is a deep dark pink one with yellow stamen. Not a romantic one, nor bulgarian or a freshly cutted one. It has an oriental character at a point it gives me the same vibes as Lancome's parfait de roses. Let's call it a churchie rose, a touch of incense. If there's a sibling for it, this is definitely Narciso Rodriguez Fleur Musc EDP. If you love this perfume but you want an intense version that will project more and it will be more intense, give Roses Musk a try. I don't get any jasmine but there must be some of it, the narcotic and indolic one I would say. All in all, try it if you're at least 30+, a rose lover, if you want a deep golden arabic rose that would shine even in winter and have in mind you can easily share it with your other half or even gift it. The reason this perfume will always be in my heart is because a very important person of mine used to wear it a lot.

Angabel

When I first spray this, I get a beautiful, fresh, natural rose aroma. The rose doesn't last on my skin very long, though, and it quickly fades to the musk notes. The musk in Roses Musk smells just like Juliette Has A Gun's Not A Perfume to me. Unfortunately, that smell doesn't work well with my skin. It ends up smelling more synthetic and "chemical-y" on me. Luckily, if I spray this on my clothes, it retains the rose smell and smells fantastic for hours. So, I will likely use this to scent my clothes, hair, and sheets. It really is a beautiful rose, if your skin works well with it. Definitely try a sample before buying.

Asoss

My skin and this perfume don't get along. At the beginning I get only alcohol, and when it dries off I get rose, but the acid kind of rose, it's not refreshing in my skin, it's not pleasant, so many better rose perfumes out there. No musc, but I measure musc by Narciso scale. Just not for me.

elparf

This is a "cold" rose to me. One of my favorites by Montale.

elledeelee

This was the glorious, perfect, juicy, real rose scent that your grandmother passed on to you. Housed in a beautiful vintage bottle, the first time you came to wear it, you realised the old, rusted sprayer had sealed itself shut, and would need some lubricant to get it to work properly again. You went in hard with the WD40 to try to loosen up the cap but a lot of the liquid accidentally found its way inside the bottle and mixed in with the perfume. Roses Musk is what you are left with. It's a very gorgeous, slightly citrussy rose, heavily overpowered by the definite metallic coldness of a chemical mix that's been sprayed directly from a can of pressurised air. To be clear I'm not saying that's necessarily a negative thing......But it certainly is very, very weird.

TL;DR - smells like rose scented furniture polish

food.is_life

This is straight up Intense Cafe but lighter, no sweetness, the spring flanker. Perfectly unisex, not feminine, not masculine

krasinka_stst

I dont like rose. After the rose scent goes away, it becomes a really nice sparkling summer fresh and clean fragrance.

euevabrown

A gorgeous clean fresh rose! I don’t like rose in perfumery because it reminds me about those cheap bulgarian rose perfumes. All rose fragrances I’ve tried reminded me that cheap bulgarian scent. Even the mega hyped Delina to me it smells super cheap. But Roses Musk...OMG!!! It’s a rose perfection! It’s that type of smell that gets better in the dry down. It has even an aquatic vibe wich makes it very wearable even in very hot days. The longevity it’s out of this world! People can smell it on you even next day after a shower! Sillage is gorgeous and beast mode.

Scent 10/10

Let the alcohol dry off first. Yep! It’s roses. It’s fresh and clean, bit musky and powdery. It’s youthful and not granny like. I’d wear it on a hot day to the pool. It reminds me rose fragrance you’ll find in a face wash or skincare like Lancôme. It’s a good out of the shower rose body wash scent. Don’t overspray...2-3 is enough.

Bigsly

In the same ballpark as Oud Touch by Franck Olivier but I think this one is smoother, though a bit more "feminine." Considering the price difference, I could understand some going for the less expensive option, but I definitely like this one, as it's a rosy oud that has no "sharp edges" and isn't "chemical" (though those who have yet to try oud scents may perceive things that way, of course).

imperfect-angel

This is nothing I imagined it would be. At the first second I get heavily alcohol smell, I need to hold my breath for a few secs until I could smell rose ( Freshly cut from the stem kind of rose) and oud (very heavy oud) at the dry down musk started to peek through. All in all this is totally a unisex scent. and it does give an arabian perfume vibe. And the more I smell it the more it remind me of Al Haramain Musk. I'd say they are dupes, the only different is Rose Musk gave monster projection while Al Haramain Musk stay close to the skin, they both last all day on me.

Ps. Someone said it's flowery incensey musk and I'd second that!
Ps2. a week later I could still smell it on my cloth.

fleurdechair

This perfume was how I learned that something wonderful-smelling on another person might not smell the same on my own skin. Regrettably, I'm not getting any depth at all from this perfume. On me, it's just a straightforward, florist shop rose. It reminds me of something you might find at the "Fresh" store for less money. The person who said 70% rose and 30% musk is about right. For me the rose greatly overpowers everything else, even losing the jasmine. I'm more interested in a bold, heady, indolic jasmine. There are much more interesting rose scents on offer from Montale, fan favorite or no fan favorite.

joamoon

This scent just blew me away at first sniff. I know a lot of people say Montale fragrances always have a synthetic smell (which I tend to agree) but I don’t think this is the case with Roses Musk. Rose and musk are definitely notes I’m usually not a fan of but this perfume is a completely different story. To me this smells like flowers that you pick from the wild. Sure it does smell like rose but there’s just more to it! This is such a beast for such a light floral and that makes it even more special! Absolute love this fragrance.

Chanelette

An afternoon walk through a sunny rose garden full of lush pink and yellow roses - those with the touch of candied lemon zest fragrance, with a couple of jasmine bushes growing in the background. The musk feels like a soft silk scarf, the whole fragrance is smooth and well blended. A beautiful timeless versatile rose fragrance, stunning in its simplicity.

mutintabailey

I like my perfumes strong!
This is not the type of strength I expected.
It's a very realistic rose smell, almost tittering on a Gucci type realistic vibe.
Fresh cut rose!
The bottle is amazing! really nice very small for 50ML or 50ML bottles are just getting smaller!
It's a very feminine beautiful smell and a first date would be good to wear.
It is not amazing, it is however very beautiful.
Definitely an office perfume!
A good blind buy I will surely finish the bottle but it won't buy another.

Patricia888

This is in mood and character very similar to the famed Parfums de Marly Delina only it less peppery and much more nicer. I don`t think this can be strongly disliked by anyone - it is so easy, nice, sweety fresh, gentle. Very nice.

bintTapputi

This is the first Montale that I nearly love. It's sweet, very musky and the rose is an interesting uplifting almost green note that really keeps everything from feeling too heavy. I don't normally like roses as they tend to remind me of many unfavorable things, the rose here is only mildly hearkening back to something I may not like. This isn't out of this world or really revolutionary, but it is quite lovely, fun, youthful without being innocent or naive and unique enough that it stands out without being overtly odd. Overall a great "wearable" office friendly powerhouse of feminine strength and beauty. 7/10

Dries down very clean and fresh. Very pleasant.

Edit: 02/2022

Have retried this recently, yeah it's wearable but it's so boring. My taste has really changed. I do still think this is a rose that I like, it's a very stereotypical/common type of rose, so nothing to really dislike but nothing else either. 5/10

Loveluxe

Just started using a sample of this ....I might have to have it. This has really gained me some rose love and I’m becoming obsessed. I have never been one for rose or even much of floral as I think it reminds me of my grandma (who I loved dearly) who may have splurged on some heavily synthetic cheap rose scent back in the day. This? What the actual F%#$??? This is beautifully structured, modern, classy with a slight edge. The musk cuts through but the rose remains. It’s almost complicated, in a good way. If you are a fan of spicy, heavier scents and looking to branch into something new (which I’m finding I am), this is quite amazing.

Eugenia Olesen

Montale rose is honey-sweat pleasure to inhale. Organic clean musk, like a freshly washed linen. This perfume sounds lovely in rainy, humid climate. Love it!

Advaitaforever

Gosh, Montale has literally rebranded the rose from being the epitome of romanticised, delicate femininity to a gangster chick.

This is such an aggressive beast. The oriental rose is very dark, spicy and obnoxiously seeking the attention of her subjects. The musk is too much for me, I’m more of a Narciso Rodriguez musk kind of girl. The musk here is more unisex and animalic, a little nose burning.
This literally smells like the “bad girl” who influences all her friends to participate in unsavoury behaviour. The girl who your parents didn’t want you to be friends with but her self-assurance and overt disregard for authority make her kind of appealing.

I can see certain characters pulling this off but it’s really not for me. Excellent sillage though.

menna81

Oriental dark pink roses and incensey musk! If you're a rose lover, this is a MUST. Smells heavenly and very long lasting.
JUST LOVE IT!

Timaka

Clean and crisp, long lasting rose and musk perfume. Delivers exactly what it promises! Not sweet and dreamy, but cold and fresh instead - think about the vibe of Chanel Coco Mademoiselle. Great for spring and summer!

SmellsS0Good

Pink bottle with strips has better smell. There is no metalic note. In case somebody is wondering.

!! This is just my opinion.

Vickalicious

As another reviewer noted, there is a huge blast of Iso E Super or ambroxan (something very synthetic woods smelling) at the initial spray, mixed with rose. Unfortunately, on my skin the rose disappears quickly (within 10 minutes) and I'm left with only the synthetic woods smell, which is quite sickening. As others have mentioned, this turns into something very similar to Not a Perfume by Juliette Has A Gun. I get absolutely no musk with this one. This is a pass for me.
Update: I had a friend try this one, and on her the rose was much more prominent, and the ambroxan was not a strong. However, the dry down on her was rather aquatic/cedar (almost like D&G Light Blue without the citrus notes).

TonyAKAMrClean

@Sephmosh - yes, yes we do!

And believe it or not, I actually like wearing it!

Maybe it's just me, but it reminds me a lot of Montale's Intense Cafe. When I'm in the mood for Intense Cafe but think that Intense Cafe is too heavy for the weather or the day's plans (which surprisingly happens 50% of the times I'm in the mood for Intense Cafe), then I reach for Roses Musk.

Maybe I'm an exception to those who would usually wear this scent, but it sits extremely well on my skin. Very unisex, in my opinion, in spite of the pink bottle - whichever version of it you may have. Also, I like the newer flat pink (magenta) bottles with gold stripes, a lot better than the old, shiny, mirrored pink bottles, which are fingerprint magnets.

Sephmosh

You will get many compliments when you wear this perfume. Men love it.

scensitive

less sweet than Roses Elixir, nice traditional rose.

Maodo

I was so excited when the box arrived. I love roses, I love musk. The right combi makes me happy. But I can't handle MONTALE ROSE MUSK . I thought it would be all about rose and musk and jasmin, but there is a stronger alcoholic ingredient that vanishes everything I was expecting to love. What a pity. MONTALE ROSES MUSK INTENSE, her big sister, is much better though. The rose there is more present, more dominant and the notes more clear. So I think I am gonna sell my lovely pink bottle.

Chenyne

I'm not sure how I feel about this perfume yet. I normally LOVE anything with musk in it. Perfume, candles, soap, any scent that attracts me usually has musk as its main ingredient, so to be somewhat turned off by this one shocks me to no end. The musk is overpowering! I didn't even know jasmine was anywhere in the makeup of this scent. I get a little rose but mainly I get under arm type musk/must. Ugh. But the crazy part about it is... other people love it on me! Go freakin' figure! I'm not gonna throw it out, though. It's just going to take me a while to get used to it.

Shan101beauty

A very beautiful scent. Smells like fresh roses. This is a suitable fragrance to be a signature or for everyday use. Soft and delicate.

flawnt

I never thought I was the sort of girl with the commitment capabilities to have a "signature scent", but really I just hadn't met her yet. Roses Musk is a scent that makes my toes curl when I smell it, and sometimes I'll smell the bottle on my wardrobe just for a little pick me up.

This perfume lasts on my skin a long, long time. Certainly through the work day and into the evenings, but if you want your witchy seduction powers at peak, then top it off before happy hour.

Roses Musk is, shockingly, a musky floral. The roses are very real, like a bouquet of roses including their damp green stems. There's also a bubbly-almost champagne like, tart-sweet musky note that gives the whole thing a fresh, uplifting vibe. It's not a cloying, heavy, rose-oud perfume, it's light and floral and green. Inoffensive.

I'd say it's appropriate for the office, and appropriate year 'round. At least, that's how I'm approaching it.

This is stunning! Photorealistic red and pink roses, musk, amber and a bit of wood. She’s fresh and clean w/ a dirty mind. My first Montale fragrance and I’m blown away. Soft, persistent and long lasting. I like rose. I absolutely adore musk from squeaky clean to absolutely filthy. Rose and musk together, I’m smitten!

alarmingcarmella

So disappointed. :( The gorgeous roses are totally defeated by a medicinal, rubbing alcohol scent. Doesn't work on my skin. Honestly though, it even smells like a hospital on my hair and clothes.

stephanieklein

Roses Musk by Montale smells exactly like Mancera Roses Vanille. Identical on the dry down.

waskotransportation

addiehominem -
I LOVED your review of this! I was trying to decide between this one and De Marly Delina, and your review told me exactly what I needed to know about both frags. Thank you so much for the insight! I am going with Delina...

ixcatzin

Silky musky rose! I like this perfume. It seems a bit similar than Intense Roses I like both!

churinl

I am trying to smell in this all the wonderful things others are smelling, but I can't seem to get there! I was so excited when the box arrived and I could literally smell the rose in the delivery box, but so far all I get is a whiff or a pretty rose that is almost immediately replaced by something acrid and almost metallic. I can only assume that this musk does wicked things on my skin. I will have to revisit at a later date, but as of now, this is a dislike for me.

Edit 3/25/2019 - After multiple tries I have faced up to the fact that this will never work for me, but I am happy to say she has found a new home where she will be given the love she deserves! As for Montale, I am starting to think we are just not meant to be!

katrinawhitney

Sexy sexy sexy. Its strong and men love it. Its perfect.

Soulfully Yours

Scent is a very powerful thing about a person. Our body already has its own natural smell. It is not easy to find a perfume that blends right in with your body. So don't go by reviews and blind buy scents. An instinct would be a good thing to rely on or actually testing it on yourself.

I came to know about Montale recently and something told me that I would love Roses Musk. I bought it on an instinct and I am so glad I did! I love everything about it. I generally buy perfumes based on my instinct more than reviews.

This is the perfect floral/ musky fragrance for me as I needed something which had this kind of projection and longevity.
The scent is mostly like freshly cut roses with long green stems. Essentially there is a distinct separate note of rose petals and green rose stems absolutely fresh. There is a faint whiff of dried roses as well which gives this fragrance an edge. Something very Middle Eastern about this, perhaps the musk is oud based. Which does give a very strong oud touch to the scent although it does not mention oud among the notes.
There is a certain sweetness like candy but not overwhelming or overpowering. The rose is most prominent followed by "oud musk" and the dry down has a faint sweetness which is so delightful because it reduces the concentration of roses a bit.

For some reason I never liked rose as a fragrance because of its strong almost "old" smell but I really fell in love with this and just ordered a second bottle. The bottle is a delightful pink creation and looks so pretty. My husband loves this on me.
When I wear this, people try to start a conversation with me and move close to me like they enjoy being around me, more than ever.

Personally this is my favourite as it is not too expensive and it STAYS on my skin and clothes. I could smell it on my arm 12 hrs later faintly and almost upto 6 days on my dress!!

This is more like a rose girl or rose angel rather than a rose queen.

A gorgeous rose soliflore. Fresh and linear; not soapy on my skin. Really enjoying this!
